:00:50. > :01:03.COMMENTARY MONTAGE: The race for the top four is well and truly on.

:01:04. > :01:11.How about this for a finish from Sergio Aguero? Liverpool in the

:01:12. > :01:34.driving seat now. Mkhitaryan, fabulous goal.

:01:35. > :01:38.Three games on the way, featuring four of the top seven,

:01:39. > :01:40.as the race for Champions League qualification intensifies.

:01:41. > :01:42.Plus Saturday's goals and 2 Good 2 Bad.

:01:43. > :01:44.Alan Shearer and Danny Murphy are with me.

:01:45. > :01:48.Manchester City facing a Liverpool side just a point

:01:49. > :02:07.COMMENTATOR: The Etihad positively pounding, crackling, for what, seen

:02:08. > :02:11.through the prism of Monaco, just might be the biggest game of Pep

:02:12. > :02:15.Guardiola's Manchester City career so far. City have lost their last

:02:16. > :02:20.four league games against Liverpool but won the League Cup at Jurgen

:02:21. > :02:25.Klopp's expense one year ago. Two changes from the Champions League

:02:26. > :02:30.defeat with Sagna and Kolarov replaced by Yaya Toure and Otamendi.

:02:31. > :02:35.Fernandinho playing at right back. This is Liverpool's 11th of 12 games

:02:36. > :02:39.against the current top seven this season, and they are unbeaten so

:02:40. > :02:42.far. Firmino is fit after a groin injury and back in the side. Dejan

:02:43. > :03:04.Lovren is also fit but on the bench. No foul from Raheem Sterling. De

:03:05. > :03:08.Bruyne, he has been everywhere in the first 14 minutes of the game,

:03:09. > :03:12.the Belgian. Brilliant ball from Silva. Wijnaldum struggling.

:03:13. > :03:31.Manchester City's throw. Fernandinho. Oh. Leroy Sane will

:03:32. > :03:34.keep it in. Aguero felt he was fouled. Liverpool, every sinew of

:03:35. > :03:44.their defensive strength is being tested here. Matip, certainly seems

:03:45. > :03:50.to only have thoughts for inbreeding Sergio Aguero rather than

:03:51. > :03:58.intercepting the ball. -- for impeding Sergio Aguero.

:03:59. > :04:03.Raheem Sterling. Sane steaming to the left-hand side. Sterling finds

:04:04. > :04:12.him and is going into the box for the return. Mignolet with his legs.

:04:13. > :04:18.David Silva! Code and maybe should have been Manchester City's first

:04:19. > :04:28.goal. Great break. Beautifully played from Sterling to Leroy Sane.

:04:29. > :04:33.Inviting for David Silva. And the little Spaniard turns away feeling

:04:34. > :04:38.he should have hit the target. 20 minutes played and it feels like

:04:39. > :04:44.Liverpool have been savaged in that first 20 minutes.

:04:45. > :04:51.Mane chases with Otamendi, and he's quicker than Otamendi. Mane in on

:04:52. > :04:56.goal and he couldn't get a shot away. Claiming he was fouled, Sadio

:04:57. > :05:06.Mane. He raced away from Otamendi, who was never going to catch him.

:05:07. > :05:12.Caballero came out. Did Otamendi foul Mane? As Mane looks to get the

:05:13. > :05:16.shot away, I think his right foot hit the back of Otamendi's calf.

:05:17. > :05:23.Don't think you can give a penalty for that. Jurgen Klopp might be

:05:24. > :05:24.saying, how is that not a penalty, but I actually think it's a good

:05:25. > :05:31.decision. Expertly controlled by Raheem

:05:32. > :05:50.Sterling on his right thigh. Clever ball from De Bruyne are to

:05:51. > :06:01.David Silva. Tap in, surely! Fernandinho is wide! Well, Raheem

:06:02. > :06:06.Sterling is in the six yard box, saying, surely I was fouled. Looked

:06:07. > :06:15.a certain goal. And Liverpool counter with Firmino. Good save from

:06:16. > :06:21.Caballero. Liverpool nearly nick the lead here. It's actually the first

:06:22. > :06:27.attempt on target in the game for either team. Roberto Firmino. Now

:06:28. > :06:31.Liverpool have a corner. Putting as much pressure as they can on Willy

:06:32. > :06:39.Caballero. In goes the corner kick with real pace. Not a great fist

:06:40. > :06:44.out. Lallana! Good save. The punch was unconvincing. Lallana hit

:06:45. > :06:58.sweetly, but the save was very smart again from Caballero. How is it 0-0?

:06:59. > :07:08.Pleasing build-up from Liverpool. Chants! Really important block by

:07:09. > :07:11.John Stones to deny Sadio Mane. Excellent stuff from the City

:07:12. > :07:14.centre-half. Well worked by Liverpool. Mane with real space but

:07:15. > :07:39.not able to evade John Stones. That's nice. Firmino is onside.

:07:40. > :07:44.Clichy with the challenge and it's a penalty to Liverpool. Michael Oliver

:07:45. > :07:53.wants to talk to Gael Clichy. It's going to be a yellow card. The slip

:07:54. > :07:58.was all-important, and Clichy, in trying to make up ground, lunges

:07:59. > :08:04.with a high foot that was only ever likely to result in one thing. James

:08:05. > :08:11.Milner, once of Manchester City, is going to take it. Six out of six

:08:12. > :08:17.from the spot so far this season for Milner. And Caballero is beaten this

:08:18. > :08:22.time. The Wembley hero could do nothing from 12 yards for City here.

:08:23. > :08:30.Liverpool have the lead at the Etihad, and its James Milner's 50th

:08:31. > :08:34.career league goal in his 450th career league game. More

:08:35. > :08:41.importantly, its Manchester City 0- one Liverpool.

:08:42. > :08:49.Emre Can making the run to make it four in attack. Lovely ball.

:08:50. > :08:55.Firmino! Caballero with a lovely save. Could be a huge save on Willy

:08:56. > :09:02.Caballero. Great play from Coutinho. That ball is perfect. And Caballero

:09:03. > :09:20.won it. The stakes are high, the tension is higher.

:09:21. > :09:26.Fernandinho floated beautifully to De Bruyne. Aguero is there! The

:09:27. > :09:34.first chance of the game he has had, and Aguero takes it. 1-1. Scalpel

:09:35. > :09:39.sharp. Aguero for Manchester City, who are level with more than 20

:09:40. > :09:47.minutes to play. Lovely ball. The cross is a dream. Aguero's finish is

:09:48. > :09:51.what you would expect. Firm, accurate, decisive. 1-1. All to play

:09:52. > :10:02.for again. Now Coutinho is wriggling free.

:10:03. > :10:09.Otamendi did well. Good ball, going spare. Lallana was blocked. Intended

:10:10. > :10:16.for Coutinho. Firmino's shot, side netting. Liverpool almost got

:10:17. > :10:18.themselves in front again. Might have clipped the outside of the

:10:19. > :10:30.post. Aguero getting away from Clyne. Sane

:10:31. > :10:35.ahead of him. Lovely backheel. Aguero has lost his footing. De

:10:36. > :10:42.Bruyne hits the post. Massive let off for Liverpool. What an

:10:43. > :10:49.opportunity this was for Manchester City to get themselves in front.

:10:50. > :10:56.Aguero, just at the crucial moment, and then De Bruyne smacks the post.

:10:57. > :11:06.Good challenge by Sagna, but he is Lallana. At full pelt. Firmino to

:11:07. > :11:12.his left. He uses him. Wijnaldum for Liverpool. Firmino for Liverpool.

:11:13. > :11:20.Lallana! He's missed it completely! He was on the side. Incredible. This

:11:21. > :11:29.has been an extraordinary game. -- he was onside. How there has only

:11:30. > :11:31.been two goals, I don't know. Lallana somehow fails to convert.

:11:32. > :11:51.That's extraordinary. David Silva clips it over the top

:11:52. > :11:58.brilliantly for Sterling. Well, another huge City appeal. Absolutely

:11:59. > :12:07.brilliant from David Silva. Was Sterling caught? You feel this game

:12:08. > :12:11.warrants a huge ending. Not sure either team deserved to lose it.

:12:12. > :12:18.Liverpool suddenly on a huge counterattack. Firmino on the side.

:12:19. > :12:22.Lallana is square and Firmino fires wide. Lallana in the middle can't

:12:23. > :12:29.believe he wasn't used. Look at this counterattack. This is a crazy

:12:30. > :12:36.ending to a wonderful game. End to end, so open.

:12:37. > :12:49.Here comes De Bruyne. Milner couldn't reach it. Knocked up

:12:50. > :12:59.dangerously. Aguero! The man they would want on the Champs blazes it

:13:00. > :13:04.over the crossbar. -- on the chance. Guardiola can't believe it, and

:13:05. > :13:07.neither can the man himself. A huge encounter between these sides.

:13:08. > :13:12.Michael Oliver blows his whistle and it finishes all swear with a huge

:13:13. > :13:18.embrace between the two managers. If it had been 4-4 no one would have

:13:19. > :13:22.been surprised, so many opportunities were made and missed.

:13:23. > :13:32.But it finishes Manchester City 1-1 Liverpool. It's one of those days

:13:33. > :13:37.where I am proud the most. I had not a long career, a medium career, ten

:13:38. > :13:42.years as a manager, and never... It's one of the most special days of

:13:43. > :13:46.my life. After Tuesday, Wednesday was so tough for us. How we

:13:47. > :13:49.recovered today and with this mentality to play and attack and

:13:50. > :13:58.attack. Couldn't attack more often because Liverpool is a top team.

:13:59. > :14:03.Between 15 and six T5 could have decided the game and we didn't. That

:14:04. > :14:11.may be our fault, but how can we speak today about faults and

:14:12. > :14:13.mistakes. -- between 50 and 65. It's a success to get a point at City,

:14:14. > :14:25.and to play like this. It was a shame he did not shoot and

:14:26. > :14:29.go, because it was a goal, but it was an unlucky moment in the game,

:14:30. > :14:35.but they also missed two big chances at the end. It is a fair result, I

:14:36. > :14:44.think. We are both very offensive minded teams, so obviously chances

:14:45. > :14:47.have been created and in the end it's just a little thing if it is in

:14:48. > :14:56.or out, and today it's just two goals. The Mane situation, it was a

:14:57. > :15:00.red card and penalty, so it was good to see that we don't have the

:15:01. > :15:03.situations and then we get the penalty and maybe the red card in a

:15:04. > :15:08.game like this, that would have killed us and them. My advice to the

:15:09. > :15:13.referees is that they have to speak to each other. They have do sit at

:15:14. > :15:19.the table, review and talk. They have to talk, urgently to make this

:15:20. > :15:23.better. We will come to the incidents and the refereeing in a

:15:24. > :15:27.moment, but that was brilliant entertainment first and foremost. It

:15:28. > :15:30.was an incredible football match. So much quality in attacking areas. The

:15:31. > :15:36.contrast of good and bad, some of the defending and decision-making...

:15:37. > :15:41.But that all added to it. It did and we all enjoyed it. On chances, Man

:15:42. > :15:47.City edged it, the Liverpool had great spells in the game as well and

:15:48. > :15:53.both teams will feel can sell with the point -- content. The pace and

:15:54. > :15:56.intensity and the end to end chances are the teams, and decisions, it was

:15:57. > :16:02.a very, very difficult game to referee. He made some big calls and

:16:03. > :16:09.he got a lot of them right but there was one big call where we think he

:16:10. > :16:16.got it wrong. But not this one. Not this one. Mane and Otamendi. He does

:16:17. > :16:24.not go to tackle him and he does not alter his line, and Mane kicks the

:16:25. > :16:28.back of Otamendi's calve. There is no deliberate foul or attempt to get

:16:29. > :16:33.the ball from Otamendi, so I think he gets it right and I don't think

:16:34. > :16:38.it's a penalty. Would you agree? Yes, completely. I think it was

:16:39. > :16:44.accidental. The next one, Milner and Sterling. This is the one where Man

:16:45. > :16:48.City will feel aggrieved because sometimes they are 50/ 50. It's hard

:16:49. > :16:53.at this speed but I thought when he missed the chance he must have been

:16:54. > :16:56.fouled, but how can you miss from two yards? Aguero gets fouled first,

:16:57. > :17:02.and I understand the referee not seeing that. This is the angle.

:17:03. > :17:09.Milner's right foot there on Sterling's he'll. He is probably

:17:10. > :17:13.trying to get the ball, but it's a definite penalty. As an official,

:17:14. > :17:18.you would ask, Sterling will not miss from there unless he is being

:17:19. > :17:22.clattered? I wasn't sure. The pace of the game that it was going out, I

:17:23. > :17:26.wasn't sure, so I can understand why the referee didn't give it. He may

:17:27. > :17:31.have thought Milner had nicked the ball away. But looking at the

:17:32. > :17:34.replay, it goes to show, not that we need reminding, what an incredibly

:17:35. > :17:39.tough job the referees have got. The assistant should have done better.

:17:40. > :17:45.And the one that was given? I thought it was a penalty. Poor

:17:46. > :17:48.defending. To actually get back and jumping and lunged at him, I didn't

:17:49. > :17:54.think there was any need. There's still a lot to do their four

:17:55. > :17:58.Firmino. I know he touches the ball but he fouls him after that. I think

:17:59. > :18:03.that was the correct the decision and the penalty. A good decision and

:18:04. > :18:07.a brave one. A good penalty as well. A good decision because he got stick

:18:08. > :18:11.for not giving the other one. I think the referee deserves credit he

:18:12. > :18:17.generally had a good game. You could pick out various players, certainly

:18:18. > :18:22.from a Man City perspective. Pep Guardiola praised John Stones. It's

:18:23. > :18:29.worth staying June for the quote. David Silva got a lot of praise --

:18:30. > :18:33.staying June. Did Guardiola play a different role in that part of the

:18:34. > :18:37.game? He played a different role in the second half of the game against

:18:38. > :18:42.Monaco and he's not having the best of times further forward. He has a

:18:43. > :18:47.great array of passing. Even when he's not playing well, he tries to

:18:48. > :18:50.make things happen. He's positive and creative. He gets in areas and

:18:51. > :18:56.makes the right decision more often than not. This is a super pass. This

:18:57. > :19:03.is the incident we have talked about. In the second half, he

:19:04. > :19:08.swapped positions with sterling -- Sterling. That would have been a

:19:09. > :19:13.great ball if it was not for Simon Mignolet. He swaps positions with

:19:14. > :19:16.Sterling in the second half and the manager had obviously told them to.

:19:17. > :19:21.They tried playing through the middle and they could not get

:19:22. > :19:27.through. Maybe needs a bit more time on the ball to play crosses and

:19:28. > :19:30.passes like this. When you are a striker, it doesn't get better than

:19:31. > :19:34.that. I thought it was an excellent decision to swap them around because

:19:35. > :19:38.Sterling found himself in position plenty of times but his delivery was

:19:39. > :19:41.so poor. Once De Bruyne went on to the right, the ball was made for

:19:42. > :19:46.somebody to get onto the end of it and Aguero did. You can do all the

:19:47. > :19:50.analysis about how to beat pressing and your triangles and squiggles,

:19:51. > :19:55.but sometimes it's just quite nice to have a look at all the chances

:19:56. > :19:59.that were there in the game. I know Danny has mentioned De Bruyne, but

:20:00. > :20:06.John Stones was excellent. Wijnaldum was very good Liverpool. But it was

:20:07. > :20:13.incredible how open the game was -- for Liverpool. It was great on the

:20:14. > :20:18.EIA. -- on the RA. Not a lot of protection going on in front of the

:20:19. > :20:21.defenders as well. It was basically going and attacking, then we will

:20:22. > :20:29.have one and it was just a great game to watch. It was like a cup tie

:20:30. > :20:33.in many ways. Why is anyone not happy with the point? Especially

:20:34. > :20:36.Liverpool, away from home to Manchester City but not this

:20:37. > :20:42.Liverpool, they want to go and win it. He played well, Lallana and he

:20:43. > :20:49.has gone on her sting run to get their, so I can't help him with

:20:50. > :20:54.that. There's always a positive. They kept going. Liverpool at one

:20:55. > :21:02.end. City came back to them. A beautiful ball there into Sterling,

:21:03. > :21:05.another chance. After the game Pep Guardiola said we have clear chances

:21:06. > :21:08.and we don't score goals which is why we cannot compete with the top

:21:09. > :21:13.teams. I thought many times what I can do to help my players score but

:21:14. > :21:17.it's not easy. He spoke about them not taking chances after they went

:21:18. > :21:19.out in the Champions League and he seems to be focusing on the

:21:20. > :21:26.attacking side of the game to criticise. That is how he believes

:21:27. > :21:30.in the game that you have to score a number of goals. I would also look

:21:31. > :21:33.defensively and one of the big reasons they went out the Champions

:21:34. > :21:37.League is that they conceded six goals over two legs and you don't

:21:38. > :21:42.really deserve to go through. Yes they have missed a lot of chances

:21:43. > :21:46.also. He seems to be making a concerted effort to focus on the

:21:47. > :21:49.attack are not on the defence and he praised the defence today. Here is

:21:50. > :21:55.the John Stones quote. John Stones has more personality than everybody

:21:56. > :21:59.here in this room, more balls than anybody and I love this kind of

:22:00. > :22:02.player. I love this kind of guy. It's not easy to play central

:22:03. > :22:07.defender with this manager, which is why I admire my defenders a lot.

:22:08. > :22:13.First of all, that means that John Stones's anatomy is trending on

:22:14. > :22:17.Twitter, but he's also praising the defence and focusing the attention

:22:18. > :22:21.on the attack. I have been critical of John Stones this year but he was

:22:22. > :22:27.superb today. Some of the last-ditch tackles he made were superb. I think

:22:28. > :22:30.he's right and I'm glad he said it. People criticising the defenders at

:22:31. > :22:34.Man City saying they would look better in a definite passion

:22:35. > :22:38.different technical setup but I also think the strikers need to take

:22:39. > :22:42.responsibility for the chances they have missed, because they are making

:22:43. > :22:50.them. How many goals as Aguero got the season 25? Not bad. He is not

:22:51. > :22:53.singling him out, he's looking at it as a collective. Aguero has got 25

:22:54. > :22:56.goals. I would be delighted with that.

:22:57. > :22:58.Relegation-threatened Middlesbrough welcome Manchester United

:22:59. > :23:00.to the Riverside, just three days after sacking Aitor Karanka.

:23:01. > :23:08.It all went wrong for Karanka since these two met on New Year's Eve.

:23:09. > :23:14.Desperate times for Middlesbrough. Two goals in just over a minute.

:23:15. > :23:22.That has turned around to Manchester United. It is off Clayton's me, and

:23:23. > :23:26.Middlesbrough have lost another one. Suddenly they are nervously looking

:23:27. > :23:31.over their shoulder. Middlesbrough with just four victories so far this

:23:32. > :23:34.season. The biggest frustration for the Middlesbrough fans is the way

:23:35. > :23:41.they play. They've scored only three goals in eight Premier League games.

:23:42. > :23:43.Van Aanholt has put it in. The leaves Middlesbrough in Barbour and

:23:44. > :23:51.problems for Karanka and Middlesbrough. -- in bother. That is

:23:52. > :23:57.brilliant. Middlesbrough are up against it now. Is time running out

:23:58. > :24:05.for Aitor Karanka? The bell has told. So, step forward Steve Agnew

:24:06. > :24:10.to try and emulate the job done so far by Craig Shakespeare at

:24:11. > :24:13.Leicester. His selection is telling with Stewart Downing back on the

:24:14. > :24:17.side after being cast out by Karanka for the last two games. Gaston Revol

:24:18. > :24:20.era 's and Alvaro Negredo and Victor Valdes return -- Gaston Revol era

:24:21. > :24:28.is. For Manchester United, seven changes

:24:29. > :24:32.from Thursday night with Jose Mourinho raging at a fixture

:24:33. > :24:37.schedule on Monday night, Thursday night and Sunday lunchtime. Only

:24:38. > :24:40.Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Valencia staying. Wayne Rooney is

:24:41. > :24:50.out injured. Paul Pogba has a hamstring strain. Parreira and

:24:51. > :24:56.Ibrahimovic are suspended. -- Herrera. Here is Bernardo and Marcus

:24:57. > :24:59.Rashford has beaten him. Super save by Victor Valdes. Brilliant burst of

:25:00. > :25:05.pace by Rashford and that is a warning for Bernardo Espinosa. What

:25:06. > :25:06.a good first save of the match for the Middlesbrough keeper to keep out

:25:07. > :25:27.Marcus Rashford. Gibson. -- Fabio with a move to room into,

:25:28. > :25:37.at pace. Leadbetter. Michael Carrick is after him. Ramirez. A shooting

:25:38. > :25:45.chance, and beaten behind by De Gea. He got a clear sight of it. Ramirez

:25:46. > :25:50.got a good hold of it. A good two-handed stop by David de Gea. In

:25:51. > :25:54.his third spell coaching at Middlesbrough. He played for

:25:55. > :26:05.Barnsley, Blackburn, Leicester, Sunderland and York City. Pestered

:26:06. > :26:11.by Leadbetter. Super ball to find Jones out of the corner of his eye.

:26:12. > :26:15.Juan Mata. Young. Matter was desperate for the return. Ball

:26:16. > :26:21.across, super save, and again. Brilliant by Victor Valdes. Here is

:26:22. > :26:28.Carrick. That one does not need saving. Victor Valdes playing like a

:26:29. > :26:32.man with a point to prove against the club that never really gave him

:26:33. > :26:41.a shot. He has kept the score at 0-0. Jose Mourinho has said this

:26:42. > :26:44.week that a great result, and in the immediate aftermath of against FC

:26:45. > :26:49.roster of said probably we will lose the game on Sunday. An honest

:26:50. > :26:57.opinion or more mind games? Or a message meant for somebody else?

:26:58. > :27:06.Lingard. Rashford moving towards him. Younger is the man outside.

:27:07. > :27:12.Young's Cross, looking for Fellaini. And marrow in Fellaini Nobbs

:27:13. > :27:15.Manchester United in front. -- Fellaini Nobbs Manchester United in

:27:16. > :27:19.front. They had been threatening. The big Belgian with his Premier

:27:20. > :27:24.League goal of the season. The cross from Ashley Young is a peach.

:27:25. > :27:29.Fellaini is onside. Victor Valdes Cambridge, maybe a mistake. Realise

:27:30. > :27:35.that the last would not make the ball -- came up for it. Still a fine

:27:36. > :27:36.headed finish from Fellaini. He had the narrowest gap to get that

:27:37. > :27:52.through. Towards Barragan. Barragan is there

:27:53. > :28:00.to beat him. Negredo. Smalling was in his way. Ramirez, to the room.

:28:01. > :28:05.Fabio. -- de Roon. Negredo goes for it. He cannot get his direction as

:28:06. > :28:10.well as Fellaini did at the other end. Steve Agnew likes the way his

:28:11. > :28:15.team are trying to fight back quickly.

:28:16. > :28:21.Manchester United in a good position from which to extend their 17 game

:28:22. > :28:29.unbeaten run in the Premier League. The last defeat, 23rd of October,

:28:30. > :28:35.4-0 at Chelsea. Lingard takes over. Three against three. Lingard has

:28:36. > :28:39.gone for goal, and what a goal. Rifled into the net by Jesse

:28:40. > :28:46.Lingard. Manchester United have breathing space. And just like

:28:47. > :28:51.Fellaini before him, Lingard has his first goal in the Premier League

:28:52. > :28:59.this season. That is how to hit them. No chance at all for a

:29:00. > :29:08.motionless Victor Valdes. Right to the roof. -- into the roof. He gets

:29:09. > :29:14.a chest pump and a fist pump. Not quite time for a smile yet. But Jose

:29:15. > :29:20.Mourinho's Manchester United are on their way to three points. Joe

:29:21. > :29:25.Jordan is sitting prominently on the front row of the Middlesbrough bench

:29:26. > :29:29.seats. The former Manchester United striker, of course, who has come to

:29:30. > :29:35.assist Steve Agnew. He got the call to, help and he had driven six hours

:29:36. > :29:40.later from his base in Bristol to get to Middlesbrough. Good ball in

:29:41. > :29:45.an Negredo's header is straight at De Gea. An excellent cross from

:29:46. > :29:49.Downing and Negredo, in front of Eric Bailly, did not catch it

:29:50. > :29:53.cleanly. Progress for Middlesbrough would be scoring a goal now. At the

:29:54. > :29:55.moment, they are looking at failing to score for the fifth Premier

:29:56. > :30:04.League game in a row. If that isn't rectified today, it

:30:05. > :30:07.has to be in two weeks' time away to Swansea and then away to Hull. They

:30:08. > :30:13.could do with the bucketload in those two games.

:30:14. > :30:21.Traore spins away from Fellaini. Traore goes on. Just over the head

:30:22. > :30:30.of Negredo. How many times has that happened? Negredo meets that from

:30:31. > :30:37.Downing. So does Jones for Manchester United. Incomes De Roon,

:30:38. > :30:40.and slotted in by Rudy Gestede. Middlesbrough's hopes are still

:30:41. > :30:47.alive in this game and doesn't Steve Agnew know it? A first Premier

:30:48. > :30:54.League goal for Boro for Rudy Gestede. Great committed display

:30:55. > :31:00.from Martin De Roon. Looked as though once Jones got it half way it

:31:01. > :31:06.might be it for Boro. But De Roon attacks Bailly, gets the better of

:31:07. > :31:10.him. Smalling off-balance and Gestede was in the right place to

:31:11. > :31:16.make it Middlesbrough 1-2 Manchester United.

:31:17. > :31:22.Traore eventually gets a free kick. He was fouled by Ashley Young at

:31:23. > :31:28.first, bounced up quickly, and the second tackle on him was a little

:31:29. > :31:34.too much. That was Michael Carrick. A Middlesbrough free kick. We are

:31:35. > :31:41.now moving into injury time at the end of the game. There are at least

:31:42. > :31:45.four more minutes to play. What's happened here? Gibson's angry,

:31:46. > :31:52.really angry with Eric Bailly. He's having to be kept away from another

:31:53. > :31:57.Manchester United player, maybe more than one. A lot of anger on both

:31:58. > :32:06.sides. Gestede and Bailly furious with one another. What has gone on?

:32:07. > :32:10.Here we go. A push from Gestede. He had his mouth right at the throat of

:32:11. > :32:17.Bailly. Eric Bailly reacts angrily, as you might expect him to. And now

:32:18. > :32:24.they are in direct combat again. In from Stewart Downing. Up went

:32:25. > :32:29.Smalling. Behind goes the ball for a Middlesbrough corner. This isn't

:32:30. > :32:37.done yet. This might mean another minute or so added onto the four.

:32:38. > :32:45.Over towards Bernardo. Bailly heads away. Valencia will get onto that.

:32:46. > :32:55.Can he get the ball over to Anthony Martial? No. Valdes, a slip from

:32:56. > :33:03.Valdes! A gift for Manchester United to seal the points. Antonio Valencia

:33:04. > :33:10.makes absolutely sure. And Jose Mourinho exits early, pumping the

:33:11. > :33:15.air. A horrible moment for Middlesbrough's chairman and an even

:33:16. > :33:20.worse one for his goalkeeper. He has made some superb saves in the early

:33:21. > :33:24.stages of this game. Might have been somewhat at fault for the first

:33:25. > :33:30.Manchester United goal. I'm afraid that's entirely down to him. Console

:33:31. > :33:39.in pats and words from his team-mates, but a simple slip has

:33:40. > :33:44.allowed Antonio Valencia in to score what is his first goal for over

:33:45. > :33:45.three years. Three goals for Manchester United, three points for

:33:46. > :33:57.Manchester United. I was really pleased, couldn't be

:33:58. > :34:01.more proud of the group of players and their attitude was excellent. To

:34:02. > :34:07.come back into the game at 2-1 shows how much spirit is in the group. On

:34:08. > :34:10.the balance of play I thought at 2-1 there was the possibility of an

:34:11. > :34:15.equaliser. Really pleased with them. We organised a team to come here and

:34:16. > :34:23.do what we did until the second goal. Defend well, don't concede. Be

:34:24. > :34:30.dangerous in the counterattack. Play with the fast boys in front. And at

:34:31. > :34:36.2-0 the game was the game we wanted. Our mistake was that we let them

:34:37. > :34:41.push and our defensive line, maybe fatigue, Smalling and Jones, maybe

:34:42. > :34:45.they let the game go to the box. We saw you get involved in a battle

:34:46. > :34:48.with Eric Bailly and the fewer the Manchester United players. Was that

:34:49. > :34:53.something wrong, has it been sorted out? It's sorted out. Sometimes on

:34:54. > :35:00.the pitch the atmosphere can get hot. But it's OK. I know him, and

:35:01. > :35:04.he's a good guy. We talked after the game and it's no problem.

:35:05. > :35:11.It was a long time coming. Nobody closed me down. Marcus went to the

:35:12. > :35:16.left and right. I thought I would take it on myself and it went in. I

:35:17. > :35:18.said to the players there that the games against Manchester United are

:35:19. > :35:22.not the ones to keep us in the Premier League. It's the games

:35:23. > :35:27.coming up. The confidence and belief they gain from that performance will

:35:28. > :35:31.take us to the next few games with lots of energy and spirit. STUDIO:

:35:32. > :35:36.They might have confidence and belief after that, but they need

:35:37. > :35:47.goals. They are the lowest scorers in the league. 20 goals. It's just

:35:48. > :35:50.not enough by a long chalk. This is one of the reasons why today, for

:35:51. > :35:53.the vast majority of the game today, Negredo was doing that. Facing up

:35:54. > :35:56.all the time. As a defender you can afford the defender to tackle you

:35:57. > :36:03.because you always have one behind. In that case it was Jones and

:36:04. > :36:08.Smalling. Leadbitter picks up his head, looking for a forward run, but

:36:09. > :36:12.there isn't any. For five midfielders in your own half.

:36:13. > :36:16.Negredo facing up again. Ten yards from the defenders. You need to turn

:36:17. > :36:21.the defenders and ask different questions of them and they are not

:36:22. > :36:25.doing that at all today. You have six or seven defenders for

:36:26. > :36:29.Manchester United, not asking enough questions from them. Yes, they are

:36:30. > :36:32.keeping possession, Middlesbrough, particularly in the first half, but

:36:33. > :36:37.they are doing nothing with it. Negredo at the top of the screen

:36:38. > :36:43.with his arms in the air, not given an option. It goes across, passing.

:36:44. > :36:47.He now goes towards the ball again. You have to do at times go the other

:36:48. > :36:53.way, turn and run towards the goal, just to ask for something different.

:36:54. > :36:58.A long ball up to him, no chance. Nobody within 30 yards. For the last

:36:59. > :37:03.20 minutes of the game it changed with Rudy Gestede and Traore brought

:37:04. > :37:08.on. You now have somebody on the pitch prepared to try to penetrate

:37:09. > :37:11.the back four or five. They are prepared to run at the defenders and

:37:12. > :37:16.ask different questions. They got away with it there, but once again

:37:17. > :37:21.he's trying to penetrate, trying to get through. Gets a ball into the

:37:22. > :37:27.box. They don't get the first, but they keep alive. The ball comes back

:37:28. > :37:31.into the box again. This is where the goal comes from. Headed down by

:37:32. > :37:36.Negredo. De Roon keeps it alive, winning it well. In the end Gestede

:37:37. > :37:40.has a tap in. But for 70 minutes they offered nothing, didn't ask

:37:41. > :37:44.questions of the Man United defence. That's why they don't score in off.

:37:45. > :37:50.Going forward for the rest of the season, have they got to be brave?

:37:51. > :37:54.I'm in play two upfront, play Traore wide, used his pace and be more

:37:55. > :37:59.attacking? He's got to be on the pitch. If you have to mix it up,

:38:00. > :38:03.Gestede is a big lad and you can play more long balls. Pretty

:38:04. > :38:07.possession will not get you points. They have to try something different

:38:08. > :38:15.because they do look really lightweight in front of goal.

:38:16. > :38:20.Probably play Gestede and Negredo as a last resort. Play Traore upfront.

:38:21. > :38:23.At least he offers. He can be frustrating at times. He should do

:38:24. > :38:28.better with the ball, but he gives them the option and a bit of pace.

:38:29. > :38:32.Certainly today they were desperately lacking. And they have

:38:33. > :38:37.spent money on strikers. And they are all very similar. They all like

:38:38. > :38:42.to come that way and play. Let's switch to how United attacked. They

:38:43. > :38:47.got behind Middlesbrough. Because Zlatan is missing, Rashford played

:38:48. > :38:51.through the middle. I'm a big fan of his. He was sensational when he

:38:52. > :38:56.first got into the team and showed such maturity. He gives you pace, he

:38:57. > :39:02.wants to run behind and get in the box and score. His finishing was off

:39:03. > :39:06.today. He hasn't played that many games for United this season, but

:39:07. > :39:12.he's also very calm. Doesn't thrash out, tries to pick somebody out. I

:39:13. > :39:16.like the way he and Lingard linkup. Both with good movement. He has

:39:17. > :39:20.confidence and maturity in a young lad you don't often see, especially

:39:21. > :39:25.at a club the size of United. He has things he needs to work on but he's

:39:26. > :39:27.always in there. Defenders were terrified of him every time he got

:39:28. > :39:32.the ball because they know the camera and passed them with or

:39:33. > :39:37.without the ball. Good performances from United. They had energy.

:39:38. > :39:42.Valencia was fantastic. Great ball from Lingard and the keeper does all

:39:43. > :39:45.right. A constant threat. It's a different dynamic. United have lots

:39:46. > :39:49.of options going forward, as they should with the money they have

:39:50. > :39:53.spent, but this young lad has through their youth system. Unlucky

:39:54. > :39:57.there, good awareness but it doesn't happen. He has a great future but he

:39:58. > :40:01.needs to play more minutes. I think he has a big future in the game. He

:40:02. > :40:06.will have to be patient. I liked the way he kept getting in today, he

:40:07. > :40:10.wasn't afraid. You can work on your finishing. He had a big chance

:40:11. > :40:13.against Chelsea in the cup game. He missed some chances today, but you

:40:14. > :40:18.can work on that. The time to worry is when you don't get chances.

:40:19. > :40:23.Mourinho said after game that goals will arrive for him. They will, but

:40:24. > :40:28.he will have to be patient. My slight concern for him is that I

:40:29. > :40:31.think Mourinho will sign one or two big hitters, Centre forward saw a

:40:32. > :40:38.number ten in the summer, which might in turn means he will have to

:40:39. > :40:43.play on the left again. -- centre forwards or a number ten. But he's

:40:44. > :40:48.only 19. He's at the right club. He will learn from the likes of

:40:49. > :40:52.Ibrahimovic and whoever he brings in in the summer. Given time, I think

:40:53. > :40:57.he will be a good player. If they bring in another big hitter this

:40:58. > :41:00.summer, and Ibrahimovic stays for another year, but then that big

:41:01. > :41:06.hitter is round for three or four years as well, is that acceptable

:41:07. > :41:13.for him to learn for another three or four years until he's 22 or 23?

:41:14. > :41:18.No. I can only go off what happened in the past. For example when

:41:19. > :41:24.Michael Owen came on that scene at Liverpool, he was a regular from 18

:41:25. > :41:27.or 19, definitely. As a striker you need at a certain point to play

:41:28. > :41:35.games to learn your trade. You can't always be potential. It's a bit of a

:41:36. > :41:39.dilemma because Mourinho doesn't have a track record of blooding

:41:40. > :41:44.youngsters. If he's good enough, he will be in. Lingard is 2324. He

:41:45. > :41:50.might have learned when he went on loan. But if everybody's fit, is

:41:51. > :41:52.Lingard in the United first 11? There is a point where you want to

:41:53. > :41:55.be in that team every week. Spurs were taking on Southampton

:41:56. > :41:57.without the injured Harry Kane, who'd scored nine of their previous

:41:58. > :41:59.14 league goals. Simon Brotherton was at

:42:00. > :42:10.White Hart Lane to find out how COMMENTATOR: No Kane, no problem. We

:42:11. > :42:14.will find out as Tottenham start a series of matches without a prolific

:42:15. > :42:21.striker against opponents who have found one of their own. Manolo

:42:22. > :42:25.Gabbiadini scoring six goals in four games since his arrival from Napoli.

:42:26. > :42:32.Sunni scored a hat-trick in the FA Cup last weekend. His only change

:42:33. > :42:35.from the last league game. Gabbiadini looking to extend a run

:42:36. > :42:40.that has seen him score in each of his last seven games going back to

:42:41. > :42:45.the end of his time at Napoli. Steven Davies was the unlikely

:42:46. > :42:48.goal-scoring hero here last season, scoring both in a 2-1 victory in

:42:49. > :43:04.May. Son striding forward, in behind the

:43:05. > :43:10.defence. Vital save from Forster. Tottenham almost making the perfect

:43:11. > :43:16.start in the third minute. Look at the run from Son, denied by Fraser

:43:17. > :43:19.Forster. Mauricio Pochettino, the Tottenham manager, saying he has to

:43:20. > :43:24.have trust and belief in the players to step up and embrace the

:43:25. > :43:35.responsibility of replacing Harry Kane in the coming matches. Nice

:43:36. > :43:44.turn from Dembele, away from Steven Davis, into Eriksen who fires

:43:45. > :43:49.Tottenham ahead. It's now four in four against Southampton in the

:43:50. > :43:54.league at White Hart Lane for him. Dembele with a short pass and

:43:55. > :43:56.Eriksen finds the bottom corner. It takes Eriksen into double figures

:43:57. > :44:08.for the season. His tenth goal. Southampton need to respond quickly

:44:09. > :44:15.to having fallen a goal behind. Off the head of Toby Alderweireld.

:44:16. > :44:20.Romeu! That was a good shot. Hasn't got his name on the scoresheet at

:44:21. > :44:27.all this season. Whistling past the post here from Romeu.

:44:28. > :44:32.Other viral forward. Dele Alli with a header down. Christian Eriksen. --

:44:33. > :44:38.Alderweireld forward. Lovely piece of skill which in the

:44:39. > :44:54.end went to a corner. In by Eriksen. Good save by forced

:44:55. > :45:01.to deny Toby Alderweireld. -- by Forster. Gets his head to the ball

:45:02. > :45:13.and it is scooped away off the line by the Southampton keeper. Wanyama.

:45:14. > :45:20.One back by Bertrand. Collected by Gabbiadini. Tadic. Gabbiadini.

:45:21. > :45:24.Superb effort. It stays at 1-0, but Southampton almost coming level. How

:45:25. > :45:29.close was this? Very close. Gabbiadini looks like he might have

:45:30. > :45:37.pulled something. The upper left thigh or groin area, perhaps.

:45:38. > :45:43.Cedric. Gabbiadini takes his place in the centre. Redmond has kept it

:45:44. > :45:47.in. And it's over the top. What a mess by Dusan Tadic, but the flag

:45:48. > :45:53.has gone up anyway to say the ball had gone beyond the byline to save

:45:54. > :45:56.his blushes. -- what a miss. That was the decision given, that the

:45:57. > :46:11.ball had gone out, but it didn't look like it had at all. Vertonghen,

:46:12. > :46:19.into Fabio. Romeo can't get the ball away. In goes Dele Alli. Penalty. --

:46:20. > :46:25.into Son. Quick to point to this penalty spot, the referee. Bit of a

:46:26. > :46:34.mix-up at the back for Southampton and Davis with the challenge. That

:46:35. > :46:35.was on Dele Alli, who hits the deck. And Tottenham with an excellent

:46:36. > :46:48.chance to make it 2-0. 2-0. What a confident kick, and

:46:49. > :46:56.Tottenham looking good here in this first half. And for Dele Alli it's

:46:57. > :47:00.now 11 goals in his last 12 Premier League appearances. A superb run

:47:01. > :47:04.over the last three months. Tottenham, without Harry Kane,

:47:05. > :47:13.scored twice in the opening 33 minutes. -- score. Longer in the

:47:14. > :47:17.box. Ward-Prowse is in there as well. -- Shane Long. That will be a

:47:18. > :47:26.free kick after the challenge by Dembele. Half-time just seconds

:47:27. > :47:31.away. Dear me. A bit more work needed on that one. Decent effort,

:47:32. > :47:37.beaten away by Lloris, didn't fall for Tadic. Yoshida, and Tadic

:47:38. > :47:46.unaware as the ball went back towards him. This is an interesting

:47:47. > :47:54.free kick. It fall half of their own players, never mind the Tottenham

:47:55. > :47:56.one. Lloris makes the save and then Ben Davies challenges. It completely

:47:57. > :48:04.misses the ball. Tottenham have got away with one there. -- he

:48:05. > :48:12.completely misses the ball. Davies. Good play. Promising for Tottenham.

:48:13. > :48:18.Son finds Eriksen, who brings Kyle Walker into Blake and Eriksen gets

:48:19. > :48:22.right underneath it. -- into play. First flowing move of the second

:48:23. > :48:26.half with the first -- home team looking to extend their lead. There

:48:27. > :48:30.is Manolo Gabbiadini who had to go off in the first half with an

:48:31. > :48:40.injury. Luckily it doesn't look as if it is anything too serious. Tadic

:48:41. > :48:47.finding Bertrand. Shane Long heads into the centre. A chance, and a

:48:48. > :48:52.goal, put away by James Ward-Prowse. The deficit is halved early in the

:48:53. > :48:59.second half. Good strong running. The delivery from Ryan Bertrand

:49:00. > :49:02.skipped underneath the boot of Toby Alderweireld and Ward-Prowse with

:49:03. > :49:09.his third of the season means it is 2-1. That goal for Southampton was

:49:10. > :49:12.six minutes into the second half, only the eighth Tottenham have

:49:13. > :49:19.conceded at home in the league this season. Yoshida in on Jansen. Ball

:49:20. > :49:28.collected by Dele Alli. He's on his own at the moment. He waits for

:49:29. > :49:39.support. Challenged by Oriol Romeu, and away, Southampton. -- away,

:49:40. > :49:43.Southampton. No appeals or complaints from either set of

:49:44. > :49:48.players. Janssen has done well. Dele Alli in the centre. Janssen goes for

:49:49. > :49:52.goal and brings the save from Fraser Forster. The Dutchman looking to

:49:53. > :49:57.make an immediate impact having just come off the bench. He had Dele Alli

:49:58. > :50:03.as an option in the centre that he went for goal. -- but he went a

:50:04. > :50:08.goal. There is the challenge on Dele Alli, and what a good one it was

:50:09. > :50:15.two. Rodriguez heads through the centre. Eric Dier can't reach it.

:50:16. > :50:21.Rodriguez alongside Shane Long. A bit of a stretch for Ward-Prowse,

:50:22. > :50:26.but he has got it. As the shot comes in, and whistles past the post.

:50:27. > :50:32.Again, the alarm bells ringing left, right and centre for as Southampton

:50:33. > :50:36.press for a goal in added time. Frustration for Claude Puel.

:50:37. > :50:43.I am very pleased and happy with the performance of the whole team. It is

:50:44. > :50:52.a big impact when you lose your main striker, but I think the front men

:50:53. > :51:01.laid very well, the offensive line and we made a mistake for the goal.

:51:02. > :51:04.We suffered in the game but we assured they played well and

:51:05. > :51:12.Southampton have a good team but the Premier League is tough and to win

:51:13. > :51:15.games, you need to suffer. Do you think your team should have had a

:51:16. > :51:24.penalty for that challenge on Dusan Tadic? I think it is the same as the

:51:25. > :51:33.penalty for Tottenham, and it is the same against Dusan Tadic. It's a

:51:34. > :51:36.pity because we were the same as teams. How important is it a go into

:51:37. > :51:41.the international break with three points? It is important. We were

:51:42. > :51:50.talking about this before the game. It is a key game, and now it is in

:51:51. > :51:54.the past, and the next one will be the most important then. It must be

:51:55. > :52:00.frustrating that you keep winning but Chelsea, you don't get any

:52:01. > :52:05.closer. The last ten minutes with a goal against Stoke, that is the luck

:52:06. > :52:08.you need to win a championship but we are not there yet and there's a

:52:09. > :52:12.lot of games to go and we will do our best to catch them. We are going

:52:13. > :52:15.to concentrate on the man being interviewed there. Christian

:52:16. > :52:19.Eriksen, and Danny was very impressed. If you look at his stats

:52:20. > :52:25.over the course of the season at Spurs he has properly, and you can

:52:26. > :52:27.see, he has got better and better and now he's having his most

:52:28. > :52:33.productive season when you look at the numbers. Yes, and I think early

:52:34. > :52:37.in the season, I and others were critical of him in the bigger games

:52:38. > :52:43.but he is on fire at the moment. The new system is helping. This pass

:52:44. > :52:48.here, not many players could play it and see it. It is weighted to

:52:49. > :52:52.perfection. That gave him the confidence and he is spraying it

:52:53. > :52:57.about. He is technically very good, two-footed, but the new formation

:52:58. > :53:01.with the wingbacks high up the pitch means he can venture infield and do

:53:02. > :53:05.things like this. The disguise and cleverness of that, nearly a

:53:06. > :53:11.brilliant pass and then he sets them on the way with a great strike,

:53:12. > :53:15.tucking in the right and that is a really, really good strike.

:53:16. > :53:19.Difficult technique. I think he is thriving in the way they have set up

:53:20. > :53:25.since they have gone to three. So it gives him more freedom? He's not in

:53:26. > :53:28.wide positions running back to help the full-back, because they have a

:53:29. > :53:32.wingback and he can come in. You cannot give him the amount of space

:53:33. > :53:36.they gave him in the first half. It was notable in the second half that

:53:37. > :53:40.they closed him down quicker. The damage was done in the first half.

:53:41. > :53:44.Claude Puel made the point that if the referee gave the penalty to

:53:45. > :53:48.Spurs, he should have given the penalty to Southampton as well. I

:53:49. > :53:53.understand him saying that the I didn't think either was a penalty.

:53:54. > :53:58.Terrible defending from Southampton. Yes, clumsy challenge from Davies,

:53:59. > :54:04.but if you watch Dele Alli, he is clever. He puts his back leg in and

:54:05. > :54:08.he has to make contact. He has a little pirouette in the air so I

:54:09. > :54:14.don't think there's enough for the referee to give a penalty. It was a

:54:15. > :54:18.clumsy challenge, but not for me. Can you see why it is given? Yes,

:54:19. > :54:24.it's a tough decision but I didn't think it was. Yes, a bit of contact,

:54:25. > :54:31.but watching dive. Arms in the air, one more step and go over. I didn't

:54:32. > :54:36.think that was a penalty. Put this date down, because I will have to

:54:37. > :54:40.agree with him again. I know! I don't know a show where we have

:54:41. > :54:48.agreed, but I completely agree. I think they are both soft penalties.

:54:49. > :54:52.A sad day for punditry. I will go on to Spurs and Harry Kane in a second,

:54:53. > :54:56.but Southampton will miss Gabbiadini. Shane Long kept getting

:54:57. > :55:02.caught offside today. For a man who has not been there long, it says how

:55:03. > :55:06.well he has settled in. Six in four, and when he got the injury he nearly

:55:07. > :55:09.got them back in and they missed him in the second half. They played well

:55:10. > :55:16.in the second half but did not have the cutting edge and finishes. Spurs

:55:17. > :55:22.have Burnley away, Swansea away, Watford away, born of a home, and

:55:23. > :55:27.Harry Kane will miss those. Tough games, the first two, but Spurs will

:55:28. > :55:28.have to go and win those games to be where they want to be. Thank you

:55:29. > :55:30.very much. Time for Saturday's goals,

:55:31. > :55:44.starting at the Hawthorns. First corner of the game. 12 minutes

:55:45. > :55:52.gone. Chadli with it. And headed in, and it is Dawson who scores. West

:55:53. > :55:54.Bromwich Albion who have this reputation of being so dangerous

:55:55. > :56:02.from set pieces have scored another one. And the pressure is beginning

:56:03. > :56:10.to mount again on Arsene Wenger. Welbeck. Dan -- Granit Xhaka.

:56:11. > :56:15.Sanchez unmarked, took his time, and he finds the net. Superb response

:56:16. > :56:22.from Arsenal. What a cool, cool finish from the Chilean. His 22nd of

:56:23. > :56:30.the season. Chadli is calling for it on the edge. Here is the Belgian.

:56:31. > :56:34.Cleared by Ospina, and he is in. Stabbed home by Hal Robson-Kanu.

:56:35. > :56:42.Monorail leads the protests. They feel as though there was an Albion

:56:43. > :56:48.player offside in the midst of all that -- Monreal. The referee deep in

:56:49. > :56:51.conversation. And I think they have called that right, because the

:56:52. > :56:54.Albion player who was in an offside position was not in full to hearing

:56:55. > :56:58.with play because all of the Arsenal players were in front of him and he

:56:59. > :57:02.did not touch the ball -- interfering with play. The first

:57:03. > :57:07.West Brom goal came from a corner and Dawson is in the mix again. A

:57:08. > :57:14.wicked delivery, and it is in, and it's a second for Craig Dawson.

:57:15. > :57:19.Oxlade-Chamberlain saw it and let him go, and defensively, that is

:57:20. > :57:26.shocking. Nine major trophies in his 21 years at the helm of Arsenal

:57:27. > :57:31.Football Club, but is his time up in 2017?

:57:32. > :57:41.A Chelsea free kick. Willian's delivery, trying to catch out Lee

:57:42. > :57:47.Grant on his near post, and he succeeds. Quick thinking from

:57:48. > :57:51.Wiliame. Disappointing from Lee Grant -- Wiliame. The league leaders

:57:52. > :57:58.are in front. Joe Allen to deliver the corner. One by Cameron, and then

:57:59. > :58:04.came Bruno Martins Indi, but he's offside. Anthony Taylor is coming

:58:05. > :58:09.over to the assistant. It is a push. And the goal has been pulled out.

:58:10. > :58:17.There is a push on Azpilicueta by Saido Berahino that the referee's

:58:18. > :58:24.assistant saw. Can stoke asked the question? Lifted in by Peters. A

:58:25. > :58:31.penalty. Gary Cahill with a little nudge. And Walters himself will have

:58:32. > :58:40.the opportunity to level it up. He comes. Emphatic penalty. His third

:58:41. > :58:49.goal in seven games. And Stoke City are back on terms. It is a Chelsea

:58:50. > :58:56.corner. Fabregas with it. Daddy Louise with the header and it came

:58:57. > :59:01.back to Cahill. -- David Louise. The man who gave away the pals in the

:59:02. > :59:06.first half restores the lead with less than four minutes to go -- gave

:59:07. > :59:11.away the penalty. Chelsea absolutely delighted. Look what it means on the

:59:12. > :59:17.Chelsea bench. Fabregas. Here is Loftus-Cheek. A foul on Fabregas.

:59:18. > :59:23.Phil Bardsley is one of those already on a yellow card and Stoke's

:59:24. > :59:25.misery is compounded with a red Fort Phil Bardsley in the last minute of

:59:26. > :59:38.stoppage time. It just ran away from Cook. It's

:59:39. > :59:48.broken for Joshua King. Benik Afobe! It's in. Afobe had the benefit of a

:59:49. > :59:49.deflection off Alfie Mawson which left Fabianski completely

:59:50. > :00:04.wrong-footed. Joshua King, Afobe, real chance. 2-0

:00:05. > :00:13.Bournemouth. And that one certainly is Benik Afobe's goal. A well

:00:14. > :00:15.weighted pass to Afobe. Inch perfect finish from him. Surely it's all

:00:16. > :00:20.three points wrapped up for Bournemouth as well. If you are an

:00:21. > :00:27.Arsenal fan holding up a banner com you might want to not see the papers

:00:28. > :00:29.tomorrow. Tony Pulis says that Arsene Wenger told him after the

:00:30. > :00:37.game he will stay at the club according to the sun. The Mirror

:00:38. > :00:42.have gone with Wenger's staying. That's written by John Cross, who

:00:43. > :00:46.knows Arsenal inside out. That would surprise me. I made my point on

:00:47. > :00:50.Arsenal and in particular their players on last nights Match of the

:00:51. > :00:54.Day after their pathetic performance. All the indications,

:00:55. > :00:58.the way he spoke afterwards, even though he didn't give anything away,

:00:59. > :01:02.most people assumed he would call it a day. He has taken a lot of stick.

:01:03. > :01:06.I don't know why you would continually want to do that. He has

:01:07. > :01:10.only ever come across as somebody who cares and loves the club. If he

:01:11. > :01:15.cares and loves the cup that much, he must see they are deteriorating

:01:16. > :01:18.and getting worse now. It's the right thing for him to walk away

:01:19. > :01:22.the. Do you think he takes any notice of people outside the

:01:23. > :01:29.football club criticising him? I don't think he cares enough about

:01:30. > :01:33.people outside the club. But it will be crazy for him to think the fans

:01:34. > :01:34.will not get worse, because they will.

:01:35. > :01:36.More football for you in the coming week...

:01:37. > :01:39.The friendly between Germany and England is live on 5Live

:01:40. > :01:43.So is the World Cup qualifier between Ireland and Wales on Friday.

:01:44. > :01:45.Reaction in Football Focus on Saturday from midday.

:01:46. > :01:53.Time for the rest of Saturday's goals.

:01:54. > :02:03.Barkley looking for the run of Davies, who is onside.

:02:04. > :02:07.Calvert-Lewin, 1-0. What a lovely way to get off the mark. Dominic

:02:08. > :02:15.Calvert-Lewin with his first effort on goal.

:02:16. > :02:27.Huddlestone on Idrissa Gueye. Tom Huddlestone is off. It's certainly

:02:28. > :02:34.dangerous, and Hull City will play the last minutes of the game with

:02:35. > :02:44.ten men. Beautifully back into Valencia's path. Enner Valencia, 2-0

:02:45. > :02:51.Everton. Hull City carved open by a Valencia, Lukaku combination.

:02:52. > :03:03.Good ball from Valencia. Lukaku! 20th league goal of the season for

:03:04. > :03:10.Romelu Lukaku. Good ball by Valencia and typical finish from Lukaku.

:03:11. > :03:20.It's short, could be a fourth. Lukaku, it surely will be.

:03:21. > :03:23.Elabdellaoui with the mistake. Romelu Lukaku with yet another goal.

:03:24. > :03:39.It's 4-0. Yohan Cabaye with the delivery. Troy

:03:40. > :03:43.Deeney into his own net! Crystal Palace lead. Troy Deeney has a great

:03:44. > :03:44.scoring record against Crystal Palace, and he has scored for

:03:45. > :03:53.Crystal Palace. A long-range effort, nearly beat

:03:54. > :04:03.Hennessey who had to react smartly to deny Doucoure. Probably Watford's

:04:04. > :04:09.best effort of the game and Hennessey had to be sure.

:04:10. > :04:17.It's good from Leicester. A noticeable spring in their step. Did

:04:18. > :04:22.Vardy get a touch on it, or is it Mahrez's goal? I think it might be

:04:23. > :04:28.the latter. Riyad Mahrez with his ninth of the season. The Shakespeare

:04:29. > :04:33.era is off to another bonus start. Leicester haven't lost any of the

:04:34. > :04:38.last five meetings against West Ham. They have certainly started

:04:39. > :04:44.positively here, and its 2-0. Robert Huth unremarked. The flag stays down

:04:45. > :04:48.and Leicester, within the seven minutes, R two clear already.

:04:49. > :04:54.This is their first sight of the Leicester goal and they have scored

:04:55. > :04:57.from it. They have built the platform necessary to get back in

:04:58. > :05:01.the game courtesy of Lanzini. We have a game on here.

:05:02. > :05:14.It's a corner. Robert Huth in there. It reaches Jamie Vardy. He restores

:05:15. > :05:16.Leicester's two goal advantage. In a half full of incident and chances,

:05:17. > :05:30.it's also been full of goals. Nodded back by Carroll and turned in

:05:31. > :05:35.by Ayew. West Ham are back in it. West Ham once again have brought a

:05:36. > :05:41.two goal deficit down to one. If this goes in, the roof will rattle

:05:42. > :05:46.at the London Stadium. Deflection, Carroll, great save by Schmeichel.

:05:47. > :05:47.Unbelievable goalkeeping. He learned that from his dad, no question.

:05:48. > :06:07.Unbelievable. Barnes misses. The flag stayed down.

:06:08. > :06:13.Huge opportunity for Burnley. You are talking such fine margins.

:06:14. > :06:20.Jermain Defoe keeps his balance. Looked like a nudge from Keane. Good

:06:21. > :06:27.save by Tom Heaton to deny Januzaj. Well kept out.

:06:28. > :06:34.Seb Larsson with a good ball in, and it's headed wide. What a chance for

:06:35. > :06:40.Sunderland. Billy Jones holds his head, and so does his manager.

:06:41. > :06:43.Superb cross from Seb Larsson and Jones just got his head to the ball.

:06:44. > :06:46.This is what the table looks like going into the international break.

:06:47. > :06:47.Tottenham remain Chelsea's nearest challengers -

:06:48. > :06:49.10 points behind - after their 10th

:06:50. > :06:52.Manchester City stay above Liverpool in third,

:06:53. > :06:54.while United have escaped sixth place for the first

:06:55. > :06:56.time since October - they're up to fifth.

:06:57. > :06:58.Middlesbrough are second bottom and five points adrift of safety

:06:59. > :07:08.after going 11 matches without a victory.

:07:09. > :07:22.Ellis Short's wife wasn't enthralled at Sunderland.

:07:23. > :07:27.More co-ordinated hand celebrations. Although this one isn't the most

:07:28. > :07:30.complicated. This afternoon Chris Smalling did

:07:31. > :07:43.his best Phil Jones impression. The security guard at Middlesbrough

:07:44. > :07:46.felt he was in danger from Mourinho. Look at his face!

:07:47. > :07:56.And Firmino was so sure Lallana would score, he's celebrating.

:07:57. > :08:03.If you're a goalkeeper, look away now.

:08:04. > :08:05.After Victor Valdes' slip-up earlier, we'll end with some

:08:06. > :08:24.Le Tissier. One of the gold -- goalkeeping clangers you'll ever

:08:25. > :08:30.get. Horrible moment for Fraser Forster.

:08:31. > :08:36.You can only feel sorry for him. What an awful moment for the

:08:37. > :08:48.goalkeeper. It's an absolute disaster for Man

:08:49. > :08:56.City. He has spooned it into his own net.

:08:57. > :09:03.A slip from Valdes, a gift for Manchester United.

:09:04. > :09:06.The 24-year-old man has been charged with murder.

:09:07. > :09:09.You made sure an innocent man is charged!

:09:10. > :09:12.What gives you the right to say that he's innocent?
