:00:46. > :00:51.Good evening, week two of the Premier League season, two games on

:00:52. > :00:55.the way, these two in the studio. Two north-east teams to start.

:00:56. > :01:00.Sunderland took on Middlesbrough at the Stadium Of Light, who better to

:01:01. > :01:07.set the scene than two men on either side of the Wear-Tees derby divide?

:01:08. > :01:14.It is the Mackems against the Smokies. Even though you have lived

:01:15. > :01:18.and suffer quite a number of years it can start all you are a Boro lad.

:01:19. > :01:26.Because you stink of chemicals. I get you. Who is your secret weapon?

:01:27. > :01:32.It is no secret, it is the beast, Negredo. Backed on by Gaston

:01:33. > :01:40.Ramirez. You are in big trouble. I'm petrified. I'm not really. So what

:01:41. > :01:43.do you reckon to David Moyes, then? I am delighted, a seamless

:01:44. > :01:47.transition from the dour, functional football of Sam Allardyce to the

:01:48. > :01:53.dour function David Moyes. He doesn't bring anything new to the

:01:54. > :01:55.side? A load of players from Manchester United that Manchester

:01:56. > :02:02.United don't want. LAUGHTER That is a step up for us. You

:02:03. > :02:08.probably call Watmore the Ginger Messi, don't you? Just admit it. I

:02:09. > :02:13.do now. Typical Sunderland. Will you watch it on Match of the Day? I will

:02:14. > :02:18.watch it on Match of the Day 2. I will be on Match of the Day 2,

:02:19. > :02:23.that's what this is. So you will watch it yourself, you will shout at

:02:24. > :02:29.the telly, go one Ginger Messi, PR impact sub.

:02:30. > :02:35.COMMENTATOR: Duncan Watmore, one of the youngsters interested by David

:02:36. > :02:40.Moyes to get his Stadium Of Light career off to a winning start. The

:02:41. > :02:44.sale of Younes Kaboul and late injuries means call ups for Adnan

:02:45. > :02:50.Januzaj and Papy Djilobodji. Relegated with Aston Villa last

:02:51. > :02:53.season, Brad Guzan makes his first start for Middlesbrough. Victor

:02:54. > :03:01.Valdes has been ruled out with a muscular injury. Forshaw comes in.

:03:02. > :03:06.Some still claim it isn't a real baby but surely the Wear-Tees derby

:03:07. > :03:14.takes on special significance this season, with Newcastle out of the

:03:15. > :03:18.Premier League picture -- not a real derby. Not a bad first of a day for

:03:19. > :03:22.Middlesbrough, a good time to play Sunderland too. Their record in

:03:23. > :03:27.August is rotten. Their last Premier League victory in this month came in

:03:28. > :03:34.2010. They have played 15 winless games so far. Negredo, bit short for

:03:35. > :03:39.Nsue, who did well to do anything with it under pressure. Stu Rani's

:03:40. > :03:47.shot is a good one, it is a very good one! Cristhian Stuani with a

:03:48. > :03:52.magnificent strike for Middlesbrough, who take the lead in

:03:53. > :03:59.the Wear-Tees derby. In the 13th minute. But those whose go on the

:04:00. > :04:02.last day of losses season that earn the points that clinched promotion

:04:03. > :04:08.against Brighton. Great counterattack from Boer. Not much on

:04:09. > :04:16.for Stu Rani, so he went for go, and boy, did he find its -- Stuani.

:04:17. > :04:20.Bending away from Mannone, and against the run of play the visitors

:04:21. > :04:26.from down the road take the lead. Sunderland 0- one Middlesbrough. The

:04:27. > :04:30.last five managers at Sunderland have enjoyed winning starts at the

:04:31. > :04:38.Stadium Of Light. No pressure for David Moyes, then. His touch was

:04:39. > :04:44.heavy. Watmore. He was looking for Defoe. A better ball and foe might

:04:45. > :04:47.well have been in. It still comes their way of Sunderland though, this

:04:48. > :04:56.is Donald Love. The phone off this time. Michelin with his usual

:04:57. > :05:02.composure. -- Defoe was offside this time.

:05:03. > :05:10.22 clean sheets last season during the promotion campaign. Boro fans

:05:11. > :05:13.have seen their team win five of their previous ten games here,

:05:14. > :05:20.including their very first and their most recent.

:05:21. > :05:30.Watmore spinning away from Gibson, releasing Defoe and going for the

:05:31. > :05:35.return if Defoe can see him. He did see him, couldn't find him.

:05:36. > :05:42.Excellent work from Watmore, this time the pass was perfect, the

:05:43. > :05:45.return pass wasn't, though. One of the Sunderland players missing today

:05:46. > :05:57.through injury, Lee Cattermole, who of course started his career with

:05:58. > :06:00.Middlesbrough. He is a Stockton lad. WHISTLE

:06:01. > :06:06.I think it is John O'Shea who has got a bit of a problem in the

:06:07. > :06:09.Sunderland handle the area. It might be the left growing that is the

:06:10. > :06:15.injury. The last thing that Sunderland need, another injury --

:06:16. > :06:18.the groin. The armband is coming off, so David Moyes turns to one of

:06:19. > :06:24.his old favourites from his Everton days, Steven Pienaar. 34 years of

:06:25. > :06:28.age now, the former South African international. He will drop into the

:06:29. > :06:38.midfield with Jack Rodwell going back alongside Djilobodji in

:06:39. > :06:43.defence. Downing, Friend to his left, Negredo and Stuani in the box.

:06:44. > :06:49.Friend aware from Love all too easily. Negredo's shot blocked by

:06:50. > :06:58.Rodwell. And it's a flow rather than a corner. After Love's claimants,

:06:59. > :07:05.who too easy breaking through. Paul Sunderland defending.

:07:06. > :07:15.Forshaw will gather. Lovely pastoral Negredo, lovely chance here for the

:07:16. > :07:20.Spaniard, and it is 2-0, a second for Stuani, and what a brilliantly

:07:21. > :07:29.fashioned go for Middlesbrough. They picked Sunderland a part. Forshaw

:07:30. > :07:33.with a lovely reverse ball for Negredo, played on by Djilobodji. He

:07:34. > :07:38.could have pulled the trigger, instead picked out Stuani. Two shots

:07:39. > :07:43.on target in the first half for Middlesbrough and both had gone in.

:07:44. > :07:50.But a commanding position for Boro at the break. Sunderland 0- two

:07:51. > :07:59.Middlesbrough. He has done well, Lens. Januzaj could not get his feet

:08:00. > :08:06.right for the finish, Boro have made a bit of a pig's here to fluid. Van

:08:07. > :08:13.Aanholt. Van Aanholt! Great save by Guzan! It was fired in by the

:08:14. > :08:18.Dutchman, it was low, accurate, heading home, and Guzan with his

:08:19. > :08:25.first real bit of action stands up to the job.

:08:26. > :08:35.Good work from Januzaj, here is the speed of Watmore to run at Nsue. Now

:08:36. > :08:42.with Defoe and Lens ahead of him. Now it is MSI, now it is Lens. --

:08:43. > :08:48.now it is Januzaj. Between them, they prevented Lens from testing

:08:49. > :08:55.Guzan again. It is better from Sunderland, it had to be. Those were

:08:56. > :08:59.a problem for Sunderland here last season, only scored 23. They won

:09:00. > :09:05.five matches in front of their own supporters. Watmore, van Aanholt,

:09:06. > :09:10.the pull-back, the shot from Defoe and Pala get lucky. Plenty of blue

:09:11. > :09:14.shirted bodies were back there. Off the chest of Gibson. Defoe is

:09:15. > :09:19.thwarted. Now the Sunderland fans sensed that there might be a goal

:09:20. > :09:24.just around the corner. Last season, Sunderland didn't win a match until

:09:25. > :09:28.their tenth game of the campaign. Negredo is onside. First touch too

:09:29. > :09:33.heavy. That enabled Mannone to come out and just prevent the Spaniard

:09:34. > :09:36.from making it three, and a third goal would surely take the game

:09:37. > :09:39.beyond Sunderland. Rodwell played him on. The touch played him -- let

:09:40. > :09:54.him down. Watmore. Now van Aanholt. Now

:09:55. > :10:01.Watmore! Guzan in the way, but first to the rebound is van Aanholt, and

:10:02. > :10:06.Sunderland are back in the game. He started the move with this slalom

:10:07. > :10:14.run. Watmore took on the shot, Guzan could only parry, and the Dutchman

:10:15. > :10:18.was on hand to stab home. Guzan will feel, perhaps, that he should have

:10:19. > :10:22.done better with the initial shot. Sunderland rewarded for their

:10:23. > :10:28.efforts in this second half. You can see what it means to the manager. If

:10:29. > :10:32.that goal can lift the supporters, and surely it should, Sunderland

:10:33. > :10:38.might be able to force their way to a share of the sport this afternoon.

:10:39. > :10:42.This is Pienaar. Worrying moments, viz, for Borough, as he picks out

:10:43. > :10:45.van Aanholt. Right the way across the goal, with nobody getting in

:10:46. > :10:54.touch. Januzaj looking to keep it alive, now it is Gooch. Scuffet away

:10:55. > :11:01.by Barrow gang. It is Defoe. Sunderland

:11:02. > :11:08.Defoe back to Pienaar. Space for Januzaj, one-on-one against Adomah.

:11:09. > :11:13.Guzan has built it again, and this time it isn't first home by Love.

:11:14. > :11:23.Guzan wobbling. Sunderland threatening. Love missing. Boro

:11:24. > :11:26.closing in on their first away win since April, and their first away

:11:27. > :11:33.win in the Premier League since November 2000 and eight. Ingo 's

:11:34. > :11:43.Adam Clayton, but the whistle has gone for a Sunderland free kick --

:11:44. > :11:47.in goes Adam Clayton. WHISTLE There goes the final whistle, Aitor

:11:48. > :11:51.Karanka celebrates his first three points as a Premier League manager,

:11:52. > :11:55.and yet again Sunderland looked like they are going to start a Premier

:11:56. > :11:59.League season very lethargically. Final score at the Stadium Of Light,

:12:00. > :12:05.Sunderland 1-2 Middlesbrough. We know that we can concede any time

:12:06. > :12:12.because we are in the Premier League, but also we can score any

:12:13. > :12:15.time. This week it was Stuani, but I have a lot of players who can score

:12:16. > :12:23.for us and I'm really pleased, because the players once again saw

:12:24. > :12:28.that we are ready for this season, and especially for our supporters.

:12:29. > :12:31.There was a lot of things they have done, and with the level of players

:12:32. > :12:36.we have got, they have done a great job, albeit disappointed with bits

:12:37. > :12:40.of the defending, which made it a bit difficult. What have you made of

:12:41. > :12:46.what the new manager has brought to the table in his early days? He

:12:47. > :12:49.likes to play football. I have worked under both and I have liked

:12:50. > :12:52.both. This manager likes to play football and that is what we

:12:53. > :12:58.tragedy. The second half we try to play more football on the left-hand

:12:59. > :13:03.side with me, Pienaar and Duncan on the left. I think that is the way

:13:04. > :13:07.forward now. Stuart, I am told some people don't consider this to be a

:13:08. > :13:12.local derby, you are a local lad, is it? It is to me. If you tell

:13:13. > :13:18.Middlesbrough fans they will tell you the same. Overall, it is a great

:13:19. > :13:22.victory for us. Playing your local rivals is an incentive as well, Fer

:13:23. > :13:28.points on the board and a good day all round. For Sunderland, they're

:13:29. > :13:31.awful August run continues, no one in 16. For Middlesbrough, up and

:13:32. > :13:34.running in the Premier League, their first victory of the season and they

:13:35. > :13:36.showed not only can they score some good goals but they can be in when

:13:37. > :13:46.needed. Stewart Downing hit the nail on the

:13:47. > :13:48.head. It's a derby for the Middlesbrough players, but I'm not

:13:49. > :13:54.sure for the Sunderland players. A great block here, gets the ball out,

:13:55. > :13:58.no danger. Good header, where is the second ball, the Middlesbrough

:13:59. > :14:03.player gets there first, desire and anticipation. All over the pitch.

:14:04. > :14:07.Gibson organises his team-mates. If the cross comes in they will be

:14:08. > :14:13.first to it. So good they don't let the cross, M. Good block and it's a

:14:14. > :14:18.corner. Jermain Defoe, great covering back by George Friend,

:14:19. > :14:23.great block, no shot on target. Great line for the back four,

:14:24. > :14:31.midfielder ready to come and press. Urgency and time. He's got tight,

:14:32. > :14:36.doesn't let him turn. Trigger points, forcing Sunderland back all

:14:37. > :14:42.the time. Good play from Pienaar. Looked stretched, doesn't get a shot

:14:43. > :14:45.in. Second phase, they are alive to that. Brilliant. They were doing

:14:46. > :14:49.this all over the pitch time and time again, making it difficult for

:14:50. > :14:54.Sunderland to get shots on target. One of the main reasons they only

:14:55. > :14:58.conceded 31 goals in 46 games in the Championship last year, just ate at

:14:59. > :15:01.home and that takes effort on the training ground. The pattern of

:15:02. > :15:09.play, and bringing in new players, they have to do it again, but they

:15:10. > :15:11.have stuck to the conceded six shots on target. Only Manchester United

:15:12. > :15:17.and Chelsea have received less than six shots on target. From

:15:18. > :15:21.Sunderland's perspective, they didn't kick on when they got the

:15:22. > :15:25.gold back to make it 2-1. How disappointed will baby with the

:15:26. > :15:30.goals they conceded? David Moyes said in his post match interview,

:15:31. > :15:35.the defending cost them. For the first goal, a clearance upfield.

:15:36. > :15:39.Djilobodji in a great position against Negredo. When the ball is

:15:40. > :15:44.played into Negredo, it's a first-time lay-off. But Djilobodji

:15:45. > :15:48.goes to ground and as soon as he does that, he's out of position.

:15:49. > :15:53.Lynden Gooch goes to make the challenge on Nsue, but misses the

:15:54. > :15:58.challenge so Nsue can move forward. Van Aanholt is in a good position

:15:59. > :16:03.you think, but Jack Rodwell has to recognise that. He has to try to get

:16:04. > :16:11.across in Stuani's face. When he gets a touch he can take that down.

:16:12. > :16:15.It was a fabulous strike but definitely preventable on a number

:16:16. > :16:20.of occasions in the move. It was the same in the second goal.

:16:21. > :16:24.Middlesbrough should never have got out of the corner. Sunderland have

:16:25. > :16:30.enough bodies back, in a good shape, no problem. Van Aanholt again in a

:16:31. > :16:35.good position on Stuani at the far post. Driving inside, freeing up

:16:36. > :16:40.Negredo, who checks inside and Rodwell goes to ground. Van

:16:41. > :16:44.Aanholt's movement, he goes back in and leaves Stuani free on the

:16:45. > :16:49.penalty spot. I don't know why he goes back to the goal-line, because

:16:50. > :16:55.I think he anticipates shooting. But he leaves Stuani free for a simple

:16:56. > :17:01.tap in. Both goals preventable by Sunderland. In that split second Van

:17:02. > :17:05.Aanholt made the wrong decision. Some good performances from

:17:06. > :17:09.Middlesbrough individuals. Adam Forshaw with a reverse pass that was

:17:10. > :17:13.fantastic for the second goal. You enjoyed watching the left-back

:17:14. > :17:17.George Friend. It was more the reaction. He started the game very

:17:18. > :17:23.poorly. Januzaj for Sunderland started very well. He ran him ragged

:17:24. > :17:27.a couple of times down that side in the first ten minutes and we thought

:17:28. > :17:31.it would be a very uncomfortable situation for him. Not a great cross

:17:32. > :17:35.in but great agility, getting past him and going to ground, well

:17:36. > :17:39.beaten. I thought he needed to change his game to get in the game

:17:40. > :17:44.and he does that. Gets nice and tight, doesn't allow the player to

:17:45. > :17:48.turn. Good tenacity and great distribution. That was the start of

:17:49. > :17:54.him turning his game around. A foul here, and he's taking no prisoners,

:17:55. > :18:00.getting into the stride. Great distribution, 50 yard ball. On the

:18:01. > :18:06.bottom. It's massive for defenders. -- on the Button. Middlesbrough on

:18:07. > :18:10.the attack again. And this is the Captain, doesn't mind getting his

:18:11. > :18:17.head in where he can get hurt. Wins the foul for his team. Confident in

:18:18. > :18:22.the second half. Again, Januzaj was running him ragged earlier but not

:18:23. > :18:26.this time. He knows his tricks, got him in the bag. Another winger, no

:18:27. > :18:30.problems. Goes for the early challenge, gets a bit of luck

:18:31. > :18:35.because he's square on, but he wins it. A great advert to any young

:18:36. > :18:39.defender. He has shown that form for a long time now. And that's why he

:18:40. > :18:44.has been rewarded with a new contract. He has been so disciplined

:18:45. > :18:48.and consistent with his performances, leading by example.

:18:49. > :18:52.He's wearing that armband well. A good result for Middlesbrough to

:18:53. > :18:55.kick on into the rest of the season. For Sunderland, the wind has gone

:18:56. > :19:00.out of their sails after putting up so much of a fight to stay in the

:19:01. > :19:03.last season. Ellis Short said he tried to get David Moyes on a number

:19:04. > :19:08.of occasions. As he backed him in the transfer market? I would look at

:19:09. > :19:13.that. Looking at the team last season, seven games on the grounds

:19:14. > :19:18.that Sunderland use the same 11. You are looking to build on that. The

:19:19. > :19:22.second last game of the season against Everton, only three of those

:19:23. > :19:26.players from that 11 started today's game. I was expecting Sunderland to

:19:27. > :19:32.kick on. They had uncertainty with Allardyce over the summer. A lot of

:19:33. > :19:36.people at the club. When David Moyes comes in, it's evident they need

:19:37. > :19:40.signings with the lack of experience in the side. And with the players

:19:41. > :19:44.they need to bring in. David Moyes suggested that after the game today

:19:45. > :19:47.and they need to do that now. Worryingly David Moyes also said

:19:48. > :19:50.that people will be flat because they hope something will

:19:51. > :19:55.dramatically change. He said it can't dramatically changed. The

:19:56. > :19:59.players have to look out for themselves. They have to look at

:20:00. > :20:05.each other. No good-looking accurately. On the final day of the

:20:06. > :20:10.Rio Olympics, the arena that hosted so many magical moments in London's

:20:11. > :20:12.four years ago had its first taste Premier League football as West Ham

:20:13. > :20:22.welcomed Bournemouth to the London stadium.

:20:23. > :20:38.# You're so good # So good for me...

:20:39. > :20:47.COMMENTATOR: The 55th stadium to hold Premier League football, and

:20:48. > :20:51.the third largest. The capacity reduced to 57,000 today, but it

:20:52. > :20:57.should be up to the full 60 by next month. David Solomon told me earlier

:20:58. > :21:01.that he is confident they have permission for 66,000 next season.

:21:02. > :21:05.-- David Sullivan. Bad news, Andy Carroll injured again, with his

:21:06. > :21:11.knee, could be out for six weeks. Andre Ayew out for at least four

:21:12. > :21:16.months. Sam Byram and Gokhan Tore come in. Loan signing Jonathan

:21:17. > :21:27.Correlli is on the bench. A year ago tomorrow Bournemouth beat

:21:28. > :21:43.West Ham 4-3 at Upton Park. Such a successful campaign for

:21:44. > :21:47.Slaven Bilic and West Ham last season. Seventh in the Premier

:21:48. > :21:52.League. Europa League qualification. Good FA Cup run as well before

:21:53. > :21:56.defeat to Manchester United in the quarterfinal. It will be a while

:21:57. > :22:00.before they feel at home here though. The environment is so

:22:01. > :22:10.different to the tight confines of Upton Park.

:22:11. > :22:35.Driven into wards Enner Valencia. Comes to Gokhan Tore. Gokhan Tore

:22:36. > :22:44.was looking for the curl. Antonio involved again, it bounced away from

:22:45. > :22:57.Valencia. # I'm forever blowing Bubbles...

:22:58. > :23:04.COMMENTATOR: The song as unchanged. Kouyate beats Artur. And then are

:23:05. > :23:12.raised his arm to block it. -- beats Arter. It's a free kick and Harry

:23:13. > :23:15.Arter has a yellow card here. Visibly disrespectful behaviour to

:23:16. > :23:22.an official is a yellow card offence. Moving West Ham to this

:23:23. > :23:25.stadium has been the stuff of dreams for their joint owners, the first

:23:26. > :23:27.half-hour of Premier League football in it has been enough to put you to

:23:28. > :23:43.sleep. Good little darting run by Masuaku.

:23:44. > :23:47.Good cross at the end. A shame Tore couldn't stay on his feet. Ryan

:23:48. > :23:54.Fraser is blocked by Sam Byram but the referee says play on. Callum

:23:55. > :24:00.Wilson is knocked over by Byram. That offence brings the yellow card,

:24:01. > :24:06.or it might have been the first one, either might have done. Tore lost

:24:07. > :24:09.his footing and Ryan Fraser was off. That was the first foul... And then

:24:10. > :24:33.foul number two. Mark Noble forward to Valencia. It's

:24:34. > :24:37.on target from Valencia. It's a good save, really well hit from Valencia

:24:38. > :24:46.and it was deflected, even better save. Their first match here, but

:24:47. > :24:49.they were involved in Europa League qualifying. Winning 3-0 in the third

:24:50. > :25:04.qualifying round. Smith advances and shoots. Adrian

:25:05. > :25:07.makes it look comfortable. Good, positive run from the full-back.

:25:08. > :25:13.Took the ball a fair old distance and hit with his left.

:25:14. > :25:18.The lively Ryan Fraser to Josh King who has seen little of the ball. A

:25:19. > :25:24.chance for Ibe, and he didn't take it. Try to knock it square to Callum

:25:25. > :25:28.Wilson. It was a glorious opportunity for Jordan Ibe to get

:25:29. > :25:33.the shot away here. James Collins made the block but Jordan Ibe should

:25:34. > :25:44.have gone for goal. It's been a low quality games so far.

:25:45. > :25:53.Josh King's shot and it's a good save. It looked as though feeding

:25:54. > :25:58.Callum Wilson might have been the better option than having a pop for

:25:59. > :26:02.Joshua King, but when he hit it I was thinking again, because he hit

:26:03. > :26:10.it extremely well. Good save from Adrian. West Ham just beginning to

:26:11. > :26:14.push a little more. More bodies forward for West Ham and more pace

:26:15. > :26:22.about their play. Antonio clips it up and it's dangerous. Into the side

:26:23. > :26:29.netting from Tore. Better though, much better from West Ham. Knocked

:26:30. > :26:37.up by Michail Antonio. Volleyed wide by Tore.

:26:38. > :26:49.Calleri, decent ball and Antonio waved his foot at it. Made a bit of

:26:50. > :26:55.contact but it was a decent ball in by Calleri. You think he's just

:26:56. > :26:59.level, just. Michail Antonio. In the context of this game, that's a

:27:00. > :27:05.moment of high drama! If they go on to win it they will be happy to a

:27:06. > :27:14.degree. But nobody can pretend this has been a thrilling ride so far.

:27:15. > :27:24.Kouyate takes on Arter. Kouyate is fouled by Harry Arter, who has

:27:25. > :27:29.already had a yellow card. And is now sent off.

:27:30. > :27:40.Kouyate was quick and strong. Arter was holding him off there. Kouyate

:27:41. > :27:49.hitting the ground and Arter, I think, was not that surprised.

:27:50. > :27:55.Booked for dissent in the first half, he's sent off.

:27:56. > :28:06.Byram to Antonio who skips away from Daniels. Fletcher in the middle, not

:28:07. > :28:08.there. Comes to Tore. Tore to run at Smith. Scooping in a dangerous

:28:09. > :28:14.cross, put away by Antonio! good goals but they can be in when

:28:15. > :28:22.needed. Five minutes to go. Michail Antonio

:28:23. > :28:28.started off this season playing at right back. Playing today in

:28:29. > :28:41.midfield, and opening the scoring, but it is a lovely Paul Aiton by

:28:42. > :28:49.Tore. Antonio could hardly miss. West Ham's first Premier League girl

:28:50. > :28:53.-- a lovely ball in. West Ham's first Premier League: their new

:28:54. > :29:00.home. This will go fast and long. Collins has nested, King, good save

:29:01. > :29:08.by Adrian and another. The follow-up was smashed up by -- smashed in by

:29:09. > :29:16.Francis. King again, and West Ham might break. They almost conceded.

:29:17. > :29:25.They have got a free kick. Great stuff from Adrian, right at the end.

:29:26. > :29:29.A throw hammered in, King, excellent first touch. Reid made the second

:29:30. > :29:34.block actually. A good save by Adrian, Frances hit it. Read got

:29:35. > :29:42.himself in the way. Agony for Eddie Howe. About 15 seconds of the Fer

:29:43. > :29:47.added minutes still to play. There is time, if Bournemouth Harriet, but

:29:48. > :29:56.only just -- Harriet. Straight onto the head of Byron. Noble feeds

:29:57. > :30:07.culinary and it is whether he can make it two. Calleri against Boruc

:30:08. > :30:13.lie. Should have been done and dusted, it is anyway, the referee

:30:14. > :30:18.blows his whistle. Calleri's blazing this doesn't matter, West Ham have

:30:19. > :30:22.the points, a match which was desperately disappointing until the

:30:23. > :30:26.closing stages. It opened up after Harry Arter were sent off, two

:30:27. > :30:30.yellow cards, and Michail Antonio headed home from close range to give

:30:31. > :30:32.West Ham victory on their first Premier League dame in their new

:30:33. > :30:43.home. It was a difficult game and we knew

:30:44. > :30:46.it was going to be difficult, but they have done brilliant, in terms

:30:47. > :30:53.of energy, in terms of fighting, in terms of trying, in terms of effort,

:30:54. > :30:56.and in terms of quality. Make no mistakes, I didn't want to talk

:30:57. > :31:04.about that before the game, but we were missing our most quality

:31:05. > :31:08.players. Not one, not two Buttler. There were few chances in the game,

:31:09. > :31:16.Jordon Ibe had a great chance to shoot, not sure why he chose to

:31:17. > :31:19.pass. I thought we played some good football, got into some dangerous

:31:20. > :31:22.positions, did not make the most of them and that will be one of the key

:31:23. > :31:25.moments in the game where perhaps we could have been more clinical. I

:31:26. > :31:28.thought we improved second half, daughter was a better display full

:31:29. > :31:33.stop with 20 minutes to go right up there was only one winner. To be

:31:34. > :31:39.fair, they were better than ours the first 15 minutes of the second half,

:31:40. > :31:44.but without threatening really. And I think we just deserved it, that

:31:45. > :31:51.goal, because we were pushing and we wanted it more. And we are

:31:52. > :31:55.delighted. Congratulations, you've scored the goal, nine goals last

:31:56. > :31:59.season but even if you never score a goal, you have got a piece of West

:32:00. > :32:02.Ham Premier League history. Definitely, I had an interview last

:32:03. > :32:07.year and they said, what your other do score the last goal at the Boleyn

:32:08. > :32:11.Ground or the first at the Limerick Stadium, and I was like, why not get

:32:12. > :32:16.both? I didn't manage to get both but I definitely got the first one,

:32:17. > :32:20.so I am buzzing off that. It was a tight game, Little goalmouth action

:32:21. > :32:23.for both teams and it was going to be swung on either a moment of

:32:24. > :32:27.brilliance or a mistake and unfortunately for us we made the

:32:28. > :32:30.mistake by going down to ten men. The first one was for dissent.

:32:31. > :32:33.Everybody knows that referees are going to be very hot on that this

:32:34. > :32:37.season so you have got to be disappointed, then, when somebody

:32:38. > :32:41.gets a yellow card for that? Absolutely, we have been told, it

:32:42. > :32:44.has been drilled into us about the dissent and not losing our

:32:45. > :32:47.discipline, because there will be a flurry of red cards if we do and

:32:48. > :32:53.unfortunately we felt that today. The first booking that has rarely

:32:54. > :32:56.cost us. Fair to say it was hardly a classic despite the big billing in

:32:57. > :32:59.the new homecoming at the London Stadium, but despite West Ham having

:33:00. > :33:04.seven players out injured, Slaven Bilic can take plenty of

:33:05. > :33:07.encouragement from that win. He can, hardly a classic is probably an

:33:08. > :33:13.understatement. It was a poor game to watch. Both sides lacked quality,

:33:14. > :33:18.and as may be Eddie Howe and Slaven Bilic have alluded to in the final

:33:19. > :33:22.third was where both sides were seriously lacking today. Harry

:33:23. > :33:25.Arter, as Eddie Howe alluded to, should have known better with EU

:33:26. > :33:29.directives that have come in regarding dissent. Could he have

:33:30. > :33:35.conducted himself better? Every player has been told and they know

:33:36. > :33:41.the ruling. -- with the directives. I think it was Hambro, but he

:33:42. > :33:44.reacts, Harry Arter, goes to the assistant on an inside, tried to say

:33:45. > :33:48.it has hit his mid-rift and quite clearly it is a yellow card, with

:33:49. > :33:54.the new directive as you say. This is then what happens, of course, use

:33:55. > :33:57.on a yellow, it is not a difficult decision for the referee to make

:33:58. > :34:01.matters but change the game in the favour of West Ham, because it

:34:02. > :34:06.looked like it was going to be a 0-0 draw. Nothing in the naturally. Both

:34:07. > :34:09.sides struggled to create any clear-cut chances in the game,

:34:10. > :34:16.Trevor, and I know you were particularly frustrated by the

:34:17. > :34:19.delivery from both flanks. Yes, Gokhan Tore, his Premier League

:34:20. > :34:22.debut for the club, in his defence he had not had a preseason committee

:34:23. > :34:27.was in Romania playing in the Europa League qualifying game midweek, so

:34:28. > :34:34.you look at his quality. In the first half it was pretty poor. He

:34:35. > :34:37.got in some good positions, good situations, the first cross is

:34:38. > :34:42.blocked and he just leans back a little bit too much there. Again,

:34:43. > :34:46.highlighted, crossing into the box, too flat. Easily dealt with by the

:34:47. > :34:51.defence. That is a central situation, let's get it right,

:34:52. > :34:56.Dimitri Payet is normally on this and the free kick. He doesn't have

:34:57. > :34:59.the same kind of quality. Here again, poor execution, I think that

:35:00. > :35:05.should be going to the penalty spot for the ginger Pele. Doesn't get

:35:06. > :35:08.that. I thought this was almost a penalty, not sure if it was on the

:35:09. > :35:12.line or inside but it was very close, could have been a penalty.

:35:13. > :35:16.That was a bit more positive. He changes boots, by the way. Second

:35:17. > :35:22.half he has put some white ones on and his game got better. He receives

:35:23. > :35:26.this cross well, doesn't let it fade out and it is a bit of quality.

:35:27. > :35:30.Double step over, that is just crying out to be headed in, and

:35:31. > :35:35.absolutely amazing cross. Antonio, who we know is very dangerous in the

:35:36. > :35:39.air, gets his body in there, a leaping salmon at the far post. He

:35:40. > :35:42.had a difficult time as well, but there were bits of quality coming

:35:43. > :35:46.from both wingers, one was the cross, one was the finish. I think

:35:47. > :35:50.just about shaded the game but it was a very poor game. We can

:35:51. > :35:55.probably both have sympathy with wide men, you are not in games for

:35:56. > :35:58.long spells, your quality is not as it should be but you might have

:35:59. > :36:02.those one moments, and Tore shows up with a great ball, and a great

:36:03. > :36:06.finish. Bournemouth, last season started with two defeats to their

:36:07. > :36:10.name but not a lot has changed with the side that stayed up relatively

:36:11. > :36:12.comfortable it. They have lost Matt Ritchie and Tommy offer, that they

:36:13. > :36:18.have lost that kind of intensity that we saw. That is the one big

:36:19. > :36:23.thing, Manish, this season, they are severely down on the distance

:36:24. > :36:28.covered. Around on average ten kph game over those two games that says

:36:29. > :36:32.a lot from Bournemouth's point of view. They have constantly talked

:36:33. > :36:35.about how they outrun sides and get on top of sides that we have not

:36:36. > :36:41.seen it. Severe lack of intensity to the side and the game today. Trevor,

:36:42. > :36:47.an ex-Hammer, you went to see the new stadium for Focus on Tuesday, so

:36:48. > :36:51.what did you make of it? Amazing, a real sense of occasion and it is an

:36:52. > :36:54.unbelievable setting. You would love to play football that that so will

:36:55. > :36:59.your opponents, so the visitors will be up for it, just that they can do

:37:00. > :37:04.it justice. 100% record at their new home for West Ham. Something new to

:37:05. > :37:09.look at four, the Premier League Show, hosted by Gabby Logan, begins

:37:10. > :37:15.on Thursday, BBC Two at 10pm. Among the highlights, Gary Lineker

:37:16. > :37:20.interviews Jurgen Klopp. So when you leave players out, do you explain to

:37:21. > :37:25.them why? No, they can ask me after, it would play on Saturday, I will

:37:26. > :37:28.tell them on Monday. If they ask me on Saturday it will show me a lack

:37:29. > :37:32.of respect for the game, because the most important thing is the game.

:37:33. > :37:36.Being involved is important but if not, let's talk on Monday because

:37:37. > :37:40.either not change my decision. The problem is a little bit with the

:37:41. > :37:44.talk. The absolute truth will be you are not good enough. I don't want to

:37:45. > :37:52.say this! CHUCKLING But it is clear. If players say why

:37:53. > :37:56.aren't I in, what do I have to change? That is a good talk. And

:37:57. > :38:00.then if you are not income you should be disappointed but not too

:38:01. > :38:02.disappointed, come on, it's life, and you cannot remember the few

:38:03. > :38:09.games you didn't make in your career. I was never left out,

:38:10. > :38:20.Yergin. No talent, no skills, but never left out, I love it!

:38:21. > :38:32.Time to begin our look back at yesterday. We start at Turf Moor.

:38:33. > :38:39.COMMENTATOR: A squirrelly sort of day when all the passing has to be

:38:40. > :38:46.accurate. Folks on the turn produces a dream start for Burnley! Sam Vokes

:38:47. > :39:00.with his first Premier League goal! Bought a time to score it and what a

:39:01. > :39:06.goal. Coutinho, storage, Andre Gray has two checkers run, here is Grey

:39:07. > :39:14.now, looking to turn inside, Andre Gray! From non-league to Premier

:39:15. > :39:20.League, Andre Gray scores at the highest level for the first time.

:39:21. > :39:24.Sam Vokes and Andre Gray both have their first Premier League goals,

:39:25. > :39:25.and Sean Dyche and his team can celebrate their first victory back

:39:26. > :39:45.at the highest level. Early delivery, it comes to Capoue!

:39:46. > :39:51.Watford lead! Etienne Capoue scores for the second game running, and you

:39:52. > :39:58.have to say on the balance of play Watford deserve it.

:39:59. > :40:08.It comes back to Diego Costa. If Diego Costa has already been booked,

:40:09. > :40:16.used taking a real risk there. Diego Costa here, how much contact was

:40:17. > :40:23.there? Not a great deal. Fabregas. Swept to Hazard who will have a

:40:24. > :40:27.peeing, saved by Gomez, Batshuayi is there and get his first goal for

:40:28. > :40:37.Chelsea! Seven minutes after coming from the bench, Batshuayi draws the

:40:38. > :40:43.visitors level. Good era. Progress earlier setting Costa away, on-site,

:40:44. > :40:49.not a great first touch, still Costa, he may have won it late on

:40:50. > :40:56.for Chelsea for the second game running. Excellent pass from Cesc

:40:57. > :40:59.Fabregas. One of Conte's substitutions scored the leveller,

:41:00. > :41:12.and another provided the football here. -- the through ball.

:41:13. > :41:21.WHISTLE He has given a penalty! He has given

:41:22. > :41:29.a penalty for pulling back to Mendy. Sergio Aguero will be on penalty

:41:30. > :41:33.taking due to. And his cause. And his celebration is probably as much

:41:34. > :41:40.relief as Jory, having missed those two in Romania. De Bruyne delivers.

:41:41. > :41:48.Helped into the net by Sergio Aguero! He is just in stunning

:41:49. > :41:51.goal-scoring form. Stoke corner, the earlier they can find a goal of the

:41:52. > :41:57.better their comeback will be. Penalty! Mike Dean has awarded a

:41:58. > :42:03.penalty in similar circumstances to the one that he awarded to

:42:04. > :42:09.Manchester City in the first half. Sterling holding back Shawcross.

:42:10. > :42:12.That is the decision. Bojan to put stoke right back in the hunt on the

:42:13. > :42:21.fourth minute the second half, which he does with ease, and Stoke are on

:42:22. > :42:25.the comeback trail. Treble a couple of times in to have but get it back

:42:26. > :42:31.from David Silva, he around Shay Given. And he sets up Nolito to give

:42:32. > :42:40.the three points to Manchester City in the end. Ian Acho had got around

:42:41. > :42:47.Shay Given but had the presence of mind to square it for Nolito. They

:42:48. > :42:52.are going to emerge with three points, and might actually have a

:42:53. > :42:56.fourth goal, they will. Nolito slide it into the back of the net and

:42:57. > :42:57.makes it a much wider margin of victory than it ever seemed like it

:42:58. > :43:07.was going to be. STUDIO: With those decisions from

:43:08. > :43:11.Mike Dean, will it be seen as a watershed moment in terms of shirt

:43:12. > :43:16.pulling? You would hope so. You would hope they have set a precedent

:43:17. > :43:22.and we move forward. So often over the years these sorts of incidents

:43:23. > :43:25.have gone unpunished. Constantly defenders shirt pulling. Maybe as an

:43:26. > :43:30.attacker growing up, these are the sorts of things that used to wind me

:43:31. > :43:34.up. You used to go to the referee, clearly the defender is not looking

:43:35. > :43:38.at the ball at times, grabbing your shirt and preventing you from

:43:39. > :43:41.jumping. Some of the players you play against over the years,

:43:42. > :43:45.defenders, and the one player who used to wind me up most was Gary

:43:46. > :43:49.Neville. He was clever about it, holding your shirt, holding your arm

:43:50. > :43:54.down, similar to Ryan Shawcross here. You have to credit Mike Dean

:43:55. > :43:58.for seeing it and giving it. I'm just hoping it can continue

:43:59. > :44:02.throughout, Trevor. You don't want to see a noncontact game, but there

:44:03. > :44:06.have to be rules in place for the right reasons. If a forward has good

:44:07. > :44:12.movement, gets away and has a yard, fair play to him. We don't want

:44:13. > :44:16.wrestling here. Defenders would argue over that but Raheem Sterling

:44:17. > :44:21.is not looking at the ball. At times you will bump into players and there

:44:22. > :44:26.might be a coming together, but this is completely cheating. I'm glad

:44:27. > :44:30.it's finished. We want consistency from the referees from now until the

:44:31. > :44:34.end of the season. It has to continue. We have seen it now. I

:44:35. > :44:38.understand if the referee doesn't see it, you can't give it. We all

:44:39. > :44:41.understand that and they can't see everything but they have set the

:44:42. > :44:47.president and it should continue. It's a message to defenders not to

:44:48. > :44:50.do it any more. -- set a precedent. We have heard about Joe Hart's

:44:51. > :44:53.troubles at Manchester City. Barcelona say they have the

:44:54. > :44:59.beginnings of a deal in place for Claudio Bravo to move to Manchester

:45:00. > :45:04.City. You played for City and you are not comfortable with how it

:45:05. > :45:07.played out. I think it could have been done better and it left a bad

:45:08. > :45:12.taste in my mouth. Joe Hart has done everything for the club and has been

:45:13. > :45:17.a fantastic servant. If he's not Pep Guardiola's style of play, fine. I'm

:45:18. > :45:24.sure Joe Hart can take that. But looking at his situation, looking at

:45:25. > :45:28.the Liverpool game last December, I wouldn't play out from the back if I

:45:29. > :45:31.was the goalkeeper. Sometimes the defenders are not good enough to

:45:32. > :45:36.play with the ball at their feet. Under Pellegrini that was a case so

:45:37. > :45:39.I don't blame Joe Hart for kicking the ball long. Maybe that's why his

:45:40. > :45:43.stats are so lower at keeping possession, but he's no different to

:45:44. > :45:46.any of the keeper. If you don't have defenders to pass to you or

:45:47. > :45:50.defenders who don't make the angle urgently to receive the bulk meal

:45:51. > :45:54.kicked it long. Time for the rest of the weekend's action. -- receive the

:45:55. > :46:08.ball, you will kick it long. Could be a smash and grab for humble

:46:09. > :46:14.Hull City. And they grabbed the lead to stun the Liberty Stadium. What a

:46:15. > :46:21.story from this Hull City side and their caretaker boss Mike Phelan.

:46:22. > :46:28.Snodgrass plays it through the Shaun Maloney. He's on the side. It's in

:46:29. > :46:34.for Hernandez. And it's 2-0, two wins in a row guaranteed for Hull.

:46:35. > :46:37.Only 13 senior players. They have used on the 12 so far this season

:46:38. > :46:38.and they are on their way to six points from six in the Premier

:46:39. > :46:57.League. Gareth McAuley makes the run, gets

:46:58. > :47:02.away from his marker and it was a simple task for him.

:47:03. > :47:12.Mirallas tries to get a bit of space. Nice work from Everton, nice

:47:13. > :47:18.goal from Everton. Kevin Mirallas with the equaliser at the end of the

:47:19. > :47:22.second half in stoppage time. They finally find a way through the West

:47:23. > :47:31.Brom defence. The second half so far has definitely belonged to Everton.

:47:32. > :47:36.Gareth Barry! On his 100th Premier League appearance for Everton. It's

:47:37. > :47:37.a first victory in the Premier League for Everton under Ronald

:47:38. > :47:57.Koeman. Lamela to Dele Alli. Through for

:47:58. > :48:01.Janssen. Brilliant ball but Janssen can't finish it. Pass of the match

:48:02. > :48:02.from Dele Alli with his first touch of the ball. Openings don't come

:48:03. > :48:11.much better than that. It finally comes in from Lamela.

:48:12. > :48:17.Harry Kane towards goal, and in from Victor Wanyama. It took a long time

:48:18. > :48:27.coming. Wanyama has his first goal for Tottenham Hotspur.

:48:28. > :48:34.Santi Cazorla to take this free kick for Arsenal. Dangerous, and

:48:35. > :48:38.Schmeichel ends up making a really good save. Nobody got a touch but it

:48:39. > :48:45.needed saving. Danny Drinkwater makes a really good

:48:46. > :48:50.run to get forward. Jamie Vardy already there. Cech does well.

:48:51. > :48:53.Drinkwater was caught by Koscielny but nothing given from Mark

:48:54. > :48:58.Clattenburg. Drinkwater, convinced he had been fouled.

:48:59. > :49:06.Musa, two and a half minutes to go. He beat Bellerin cleverly. Goes

:49:07. > :49:09.down. Nothing from Mark Clattenburg. Leicester fans thought they might

:49:10. > :49:10.have had a penalty and looking at that you'd think they might have a

:49:11. > :49:19.point. They are beginning to knock at the

:49:20. > :49:35.door a bit more seriously here, Manchester United. Rooney will keep

:49:36. > :49:40.this in. Curled in, Ibrahimovic! 1-0, Manchester United. Zlatan

:49:41. > :49:45.Ibrahimovic scored in the Community Shield, scored on the opening day at

:49:46. > :49:49.Bournemouth, and scores on his home debut against Southampton.

:49:50. > :50:08.Martial. Surely that was a trip. Yes, penalty. Clasie lunges into

:50:09. > :50:11.Luke Shaw who tripped himself up. Ibrahimovic, counting the Community

:50:12. > :50:20.Shield, already has three goals for Manchester United. Make that four.

:50:21. > :50:23.Decisively done. Exuberantly celebrated by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

:50:24. > :50:31.STUDIO: It was almost written for Zlatan

:50:32. > :50:36.Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba to be in the headlines after Friday. Good

:50:37. > :50:39.news for the three promoted sides, Middlesbrough, Burnley and Hull all

:50:40. > :50:42.winning in the second weekend of the season. We shouldn't be surprised,

:50:43. > :50:45.looking at the graphic from the last eight seasons, only a third of the

:50:46. > :50:50.new boys have gone straight back down. It shows the teams coming up

:50:51. > :50:53.from the Championship are well prepared, they usually recruit quite

:50:54. > :50:57.well before coming up and they are having a go, they are not just

:50:58. > :51:00.making up the numbers in the Premier League. I'm pretty sure these teams

:51:01. > :51:04.will give a good account of themselves. You can expand to say

:51:05. > :51:08.how strong the Premier League is from tenth to 20th. The sides coming

:51:09. > :51:13.up know they have a great shot of staying up. Incredible to see

:51:14. > :51:17.Burnley beat Liverpool with just 19% possession. I think it's the lowest

:51:18. > :51:22.stat of a winning team in the Premier League since it started.

:51:23. > :51:25.Incredible discipline from the Burnley players. Sean Dyche is a

:51:26. > :51:29.no-nonsense manager, the team are well drilled, fit, make good

:51:30. > :51:32.decisions, and they have Andre Gray. And Dean Marney is an exceptional

:51:33. > :51:35.player. If you have players like that who can hit on the

:51:36. > :51:40.counterattack you will score goals, just stay disciplined at the back.

:51:41. > :51:44.Hull doing it again, which is incredible as well. You can hope

:51:45. > :51:49.they can seriously get going now. But they need recruits desperately.

:51:50. > :51:52.They certainly do. Let's have a look at the table with Middlesbrough

:51:53. > :51:57.joining fellow promoted sides Hull and Burnley in the top half. All

:51:58. > :52:01.three winning this weekend. Antonio's late winner at their new

:52:02. > :52:05.home sees West Ham get their first three points of the new season.

:52:06. > :52:09.Sunderland on course to another slow start in the Premier League.

:52:10. > :52:14.Bournemouth but after defeat to Manchester United and West Ham. Time

:52:15. > :52:19.for 2 Good 2 Bad... Erik Lamela nutmegs Andros Townsend on his

:52:20. > :52:24.return to White Hart Lane. Danny Rose's reaction at the back says it

:52:25. > :52:29.all! He says, oh my days. No words needed when a linesman falls over.

:52:30. > :52:36.To be honest, it's even funnier the second time around. The managers

:52:37. > :52:41.don't even flinch. And what do we think Claudio Ranieri is talking

:52:42. > :52:47.about here? I don't know, it's difficult to say if a penalty not

:52:48. > :52:51.penalty. My philosophy is, it's a penalty when the referee whistles

:52:52. > :52:55.for a penalty. ?89 million clearly buys you a golden handshake. Scoring

:52:56. > :52:59.a first league goal at the London stadium gets you this.

:53:00. > :53:04.That's it, on the weekend the Premier League welcomes the world's

:53:05. > :53:12.most expensive player, Paul Pogba. We will leave you with a fume

:53:13. > :53:15.imports from time gone by. From all goodbye.
