:00:22. > :00:52.Hello, I'll be honest with you, it's been a long day but we have two

:00:53. > :00:55.games to keep us going, Liverpool against Crystal Palace and Burnley

:00:56. > :00:57.versus Manchester United. Danny Murphy and Matthew Upson are with

:00:58. > :00:59.us. The great and good are arriving

:01:00. > :01:03.at a posh London hotel Jurgen Klopp's first defeat

:01:04. > :01:09.as Liverpool manager Can they chuck another spanner

:01:10. > :01:28.in the top-four works? Two sides in outstanding form,

:01:29. > :01:31.albeit with contrasting incentives for victory. One eye on the

:01:32. > :01:35.Champions League, the other trying to avoid the Championship.

:01:36. > :01:39.Unsurprisingly, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has seen no reason to

:01:40. > :01:46.alter oh winning team. There were doubts over the fitness of Joel

:01:47. > :01:51.Matip and Lucas but both start at the missing training in the week. A

:01:52. > :01:55.youthful looking bench, with four teenagers on it. Sam Allardyce had

:01:56. > :02:01.to make at least one change, as Sakho is ineligible to face his

:02:02. > :02:07.employers. Tomkins is the only alteration. It means Christian

:02:08. > :02:11.Benteke makes his first return to Anfield since becoming Palace's

:02:12. > :02:14.record signing. The first thing you have to do is visiting side at

:02:15. > :02:21.Anfield is to try and silenced the crowd. There done that, no real

:02:22. > :02:26.chances at all the Liverpool. Still going, Benteke! He should have done

:02:27. > :02:31.better. Goodness me, it opened up all of a sudden for Benteke. I'm not

:02:32. > :02:36.sure it should've done. Liverpool seemed to stand still. He got the

:02:37. > :02:40.better of Lucas, got the better of Joel Matip and it opened up in front

:02:41. > :02:44.of him. That is one of the youngest benches you will see anywhere in the

:02:45. > :02:52.Premier League, four teenagers on it for Liverpool. Brewster has a first

:02:53. > :03:02.opportunity to impress from the bench, the young striker.

:03:03. > :03:11.No foul on Firmino, but Ward has given it straight to Wijnaldum.

:03:12. > :03:17.The shot charged down by Jason Puncheon.

:03:18. > :03:23.Well, that is a foul on Philippe Coutinho. I think in fairness to

:03:24. > :03:26.Andre Marriner, he just looked to see if Liverpool had an advantage

:03:27. > :03:28.and there wasn't really an advantage, so it comes back for that

:03:29. > :03:33.challenge on Coutinho. Coutinho very deliberately

:03:34. > :03:47.overseeing the position. Here he goes. It is on target, it is

:03:48. > :03:52.into the net, it is wonderful! It is one thing knowing where he is going

:03:53. > :04:21.to put it, it is another preventing it when he gets it right. A

:04:22. > :04:23.brilliant free kick from Philippe Coutinho. The wall was very

:04:24. > :04:25.carefully set up but it didn't really make a jot of difference,

:04:26. > :04:26.that is right in the corner. The right amount of whip and swerve and

:04:27. > :04:28.the way in which it rippled the side of the netting means even a

:04:29. > :04:29.goalkeeper as tall as Wayne Hennessey could get nowhere near it.

:04:30. > :04:33.Philippe Coutinho brings up double figures for Premier League goals and

:04:34. > :04:36.he is delighted. 13 times he has been a visiting manager here at

:04:37. > :04:42.Anfield. Three draws and ten defeats.

:04:43. > :04:50.Cabaye is onside. Real chance for Crystal Palace. It is 1-1! It is

:04:51. > :04:56.Benteke at the Kop end and Crystal Palace, who have been in brilliant

:04:57. > :05:01.form, never looked like they were done at 1-0 and so it has proven. He

:05:02. > :05:07.is containing his emotion, Sam Allardyce, but you could see a smile

:05:08. > :05:11.just breaking out. Cabaye onside and from this moment on, it was all

:05:12. > :05:16.about the delivery of the ball into the area and Cabaye's ball in was

:05:17. > :05:23.inch perfect and Benteke wraps it into the back of the net. It is now

:05:24. > :05:27.four goals in three appearances as a visitor to Anfield and Christian

:05:28. > :05:32.Benteke, who left Liverpool last August, weighs in with a goal

:05:33. > :05:36.against them. And Sam Allardyce absolutely loves it. He tried to be

:05:37. > :05:44.respectful in his celebration, Benteke, but he and the Sakho,

:05:45. > :05:46.former players, embark on this routine. Paper, scissors, stone? It

:05:47. > :06:07.is. And I think Benteke won it. Here is Benteke. It was on target.

:06:08. > :06:12.Mignolet was in the right place to make it a fairly routine save.

:06:13. > :06:17.He was talking in his press conference about how there is no

:06:18. > :06:18.such thing as an easy game, particularly at this stage of the

:06:19. > :06:25.season, Jurgen Klopp. It breaks for Firmino. Off the

:06:26. > :06:46.backside of Puncheon. That is nice. He expected it to be

:06:47. > :06:52.on target. He is that kind of player and he has been brilliant today.

:06:53. > :07:02.That is brilliant, but the finish ends up in the middle of the Kop.

:07:03. > :07:09.Coutinho, such a difficult man to dispossess. All the way. Brilliant

:07:10. > :07:13.block from Tomkins. Great defending. There were a couple of challenges

:07:14. > :07:19.that it Coutinho had gone down, he may well have won a penalty. I think

:07:20. > :07:23.that is what he is saying to Andre Marriner. No one wants to get too

:07:24. > :07:29.heavy a touch on him, because they know what will happen, but he rides

:07:30. > :07:34.a challenge when he could have gone down. Tomkins blocks him. The debate

:07:35. > :07:40.is you give him the advantage to score and when he doesn't score, is

:07:41. > :07:41.it not then a penalty? A heartening start to the second half for

:07:42. > :07:55.Liverpool. Coutinho is getting on the end of

:07:56. > :08:01.everything. I think it hits the back of Kelly again. In fact, it is Origi

:08:02. > :08:06.that gets in the way. Would that have gone in? Might have done. Keep

:08:07. > :08:10.going, he says, be patient, it will come.

:08:11. > :08:16.Given away to Milivojevic. Up towards Benteke. Kicked away by

:08:17. > :08:26.Matip. A foul by Clyne and a free kick to

:08:27. > :08:33.the visitors. Trying to get away from Clyne, who

:08:34. > :08:51.wouldn't let him get away from him. Benteke and inevitable target. It is

:08:52. > :08:54.finally won. Puncheon drives it, probably on target. Strange

:08:55. > :09:02.clearance, Tomkins wins it. And Cabaye! Decent chance. The first

:09:03. > :09:07.that Palace have had in the second half. Came to him quickly and he had

:09:08. > :09:10.to respond very speedily. But he couldn't get over the top of it and

:09:11. > :09:16.he ended up getting too far underneath it and it was some

:09:17. > :09:23.distance over. There is optimism for sure on the Crystal Palace bench.

:09:24. > :09:30.Ward towards Townsend. Townsend is beyond Lovren. Benteke is by the

:09:31. > :09:35.penalty spot. Milner with a terrific tackle.

:09:36. > :09:42.Lovren was never going to get there. Townsend beyond him. But Milner only

:09:43. > :09:43.had his eyes on the ball and made a timely tackle. Crystal Palace

:09:44. > :09:52.corner. Townsend will swing it towards

:09:53. > :10:01.Mignolet. And it's gone through. Benteke! And field silenced, except

:10:02. > :10:04.for the supporters nearest to the goal, who made their way from south

:10:05. > :10:10.London and Christian Benteke quite literally stooped to conquer. Well,

:10:11. > :10:15.he has got this wonderful scoring record as a visiting player at

:10:16. > :10:21.Anfield. He has got the equaliser. Now, maybe, he has got the winner.

:10:22. > :10:27.16 minutes or thereabouts to go and Crystal Palace heading for a third

:10:28. > :10:30.straight win at Anfield. And may be heading to the safety line. And all

:10:31. > :10:36.players, Palace's record signing from Liverpool.

:10:37. > :10:42.It doesn't matter how much you dominate possession, if you don't

:10:43. > :10:47.score, you are always in danger. I'm pretty sure they have only had one

:10:48. > :10:56.attempt on target. "We Are staying up." Well, Liverpool were only as

:10:57. > :10:59.good as we allowed them to be and you can talk about all this

:11:00. > :11:05.possession again, they are going to have a lot of it, as did Chelsea, as

:11:06. > :11:11.did Arsenal and like everything else, people always forget that

:11:12. > :11:14.possession is not nine tenths of the law, it is what you do with your

:11:15. > :11:18.possession and everyone should remember that and we did more with

:11:19. > :11:24.our possession, even though it was limited, than Liverpool today and

:11:25. > :11:29.that is why we won. The situation with Phil was maybe the biggest

:11:30. > :11:32.moment. I'm not sure the rest would say it was a penalty, if he saw at

:11:33. > :11:38.this moment, he might decide differently. The midfield tried to

:11:39. > :11:44.pass, we cannot pass, the reference netted run, no advantage, go back.

:11:45. > :11:52.It is all closed up there, you are 12 now. It has been hard work

:11:53. > :11:58.getting where we are it but it is looking up. What has particularly

:11:59. > :12:06.clicked for the team? I think now we all more compact, and we are all

:12:07. > :12:12.confident, I think and feel more like I have the support of Andros

:12:13. > :12:18.Townsend, of Wilfried Zaha and also the midfield. I don't feel any more

:12:19. > :12:22.lonely at the top of the page. I do mention this quite a lot,

:12:23. > :12:25.Danny, but not long after Sam Allardyce took over at Crystal

:12:26. > :12:29.Palace, he did a post match interview where he talked about

:12:30. > :12:31.everybody having to be patient and the performances and results would

:12:32. > :12:37.come late March and into April and he has been proved right. He always

:12:38. > :12:42.takes a bit of time to implement his way. I mean, Liverpool weren't

:12:43. > :12:46.particularly good today, granted. It is not rocket science with

:12:47. > :12:50.Liverpool, no Henderson, no Lallana, no side are now. If they don't have

:12:51. > :12:56.the first 11 fit, they struggle at times. Coutinho was excellent. He

:12:57. > :12:59.was the only one. But Palace were sensational, great performance. A

:13:00. > :13:07.team full of confidence after recent wins against Arsenal and Chelsea.

:13:08. > :13:07.They had a game plan, defended deep, broke with pace with the wide man

:13:08. > :13:07.and Benteke They had a game plan, defended deep,

:13:08. > :13:15.broke with pace with the wide man and Benteke looks like a different

:13:16. > :13:20.player now. And that is down to Sam Allardyce, because he has worked on

:13:21. > :13:22.getting people close to him. The balls into him are better, he is

:13:23. > :13:24.staying closer to the goal. He is not travelling all over. This is the

:13:25. > :13:27.Benteke that Liverpool board and he didn't perform there, obviously

:13:28. > :13:32.because they didn't play to his strengths. He has got all the

:13:33. > :13:36.attributes you need to score lots of goals. He got booked for this, I

:13:37. > :13:41.think he is unfortunate. It is not a penalty but certainly not a yellow

:13:42. > :13:45.card. But when he is playing like this, he is a real handful because

:13:46. > :13:49.for a big man, he has got a good touch. He is great in the air, he

:13:50. > :13:54.just has to play the position and he played between the 18 yard box is

:13:55. > :13:57.really well today. Terrible defending but lovely pass from

:13:58. > :14:03.Cabaye and the form he is in, he is never going to miss. You have played

:14:04. > :14:05.against him, haven't you? He is a massive handful physically and in

:14:06. > :14:08.the air but the thing that stood out for me with Palace today was they

:14:09. > :14:13.had a game plan but how well they took the ball. They have some

:14:14. > :14:14.talented players, some skilful wide players and they have the ball and

:14:15. > :14:24.dealt with the ball really well. On Benteke, it's down to what his

:14:25. > :14:29.coach tells him he wants from him, that is, stick in between the goal,

:14:30. > :14:34.and also down to how they set up, so they have players, as you say, near

:14:35. > :14:38.him? Yes, you have to work on it in training. It's when do you go along

:14:39. > :14:43.to him? If you go in too far away it's easier for defenders to read

:14:44. > :14:46.it, topping screen, but from the right areas there were getting good

:14:47. > :14:51.balls to him. Two months ago I was watching him and he was everywhere

:14:52. > :14:55.but in the box. Stamp -- Sam is obviously saying, where are you

:14:56. > :15:01.going? Stay there. The way Palace played today, it's a well-organised,

:15:02. > :15:04.drilled team, it's a Sam team and they are near the top ten, who would

:15:05. > :15:10.have thought that. Is the point with Sam Allardyce, the patients was

:15:11. > :15:14.needed, the first eight games, just one and drawn one, the last eight

:15:15. > :15:20.games they've won six and drawn one and they are up to 12. Jurgen Klopp

:15:21. > :15:24.said only one player reacted for Crystal Palace was Mac second goal

:15:25. > :15:28.and it was none of his. I don't think he was referencing to his own

:15:29. > :15:34.players, that's for sure. When you look at the goal it's a pretty

:15:35. > :15:39.confusing setup to start with. It's not the tidiest of zonal lines.

:15:40. > :15:42.Really, they need to be in unison and understanding what zone each

:15:43. > :15:47.player is taking. But it's a little bit scruffy. But having said that...

:15:48. > :15:52.You'd move them to there, would you? I would, because tide is that the

:15:53. > :15:56.clarity of what's your zone and your area. But when you look at the

:15:57. > :16:01.crossover there a grey of whose responsibility Benteke. Can looks

:16:02. > :16:07.like he's got him, he's locked in, you think, follow it through.

:16:08. > :16:14.Instead, he kind of gets planted and let's Benteke drift off him. Having

:16:15. > :16:17.said that, Lovren does nothing, there's no proactive stepping in to

:16:18. > :16:23.deal with the play, or to contact Benteke to stop him getting a touch.

:16:24. > :16:28.In the near post, the court corner was poor quality. I've never done

:16:29. > :16:33.zonal, but is that a case of Can switching off, or a situation where

:16:34. > :16:38.Can is thinking Lovren is going to pick him up, let him go? I think so.

:16:39. > :16:41.That's the danger of zonal. You have your man, that's your

:16:42. > :16:47.responsibility, you know what your role is. So when Can sees Benteke

:16:48. > :16:54.go, he thinks, I'm passing onto Lovren? He passes Hibs on, Can, new

:16:55. > :16:57.lock him, even if he comes out of your zone. He's the only threat to

:16:58. > :17:01.score in that position and you have to stay with him and just contact

:17:02. > :17:05.him. You don't have to win it, just make sure he doesn't get a touch on

:17:06. > :17:11.it. They need a centre-half in the summer. On Coutinho, it's an age-old

:17:12. > :17:18.argument about whether referees make decisions on how a player reacts.

:17:19. > :17:21.Matt and I have looked at this a lot and we think it's a perfect

:17:22. > :17:29.opportunity for a referee to pull it back and give a penalty. Now I'm all

:17:30. > :17:32.for letting play go on and to try to stay on your feet to score because

:17:33. > :17:39.it was a brilliant run, but it does hamper his path. It does hamper his

:17:40. > :17:42.rhythm. So can the referees say you haven't scored, but I'm going to

:17:43. > :17:46.give a penalty anyway? Yes, he can. But he didn't. Of course, what does

:17:47. > :17:50.that mean? It means players will continually go over in the box and

:17:51. > :17:54.exaggerate dives, because they know that's the only way they'll get a

:17:55. > :17:58.penalty. It's something we will criticise Ms programme, we will sit

:17:59. > :18:02.and criticise that. The flip side is let's support the players, innocence

:18:03. > :18:11.if they don't go down but there is interference that stops them

:18:12. > :18:14.scoring, let's pull it up and and give the appropriate awarded penalty

:18:15. > :18:21.or free kick or whatever. Next, to Burnley, and today's visitors,

:18:22. > :18:27.Manchester United, who kept their top four lives hopes alive with a

:18:28. > :18:31.victory over Chelsea. COMMENTATOR:

:18:32. > :18:37.United have given notice top four hopes are far from over yet. On

:18:38. > :18:44.Thursday night the jinx struck again. I think we've played six

:18:45. > :18:48.matches in a row, we don't have Jones, we don't have Smalling, we

:18:49. > :18:52.lose Zlatan as well. We have seven matches to play in the Premier

:18:53. > :18:59.League, the Europa League, we needed everyone that can and hopefully we

:19:00. > :19:03.can have helped. So how does the team line-up # Steve Bower is your

:19:04. > :19:06.commentator for Burnley against Manchester United.

:19:07. > :19:14.As the problems mount up, it's all hands on deck for Manchester United

:19:15. > :19:18.to maintain hopes of the top four finish. Today's rotation includes

:19:19. > :19:22.just a second start in the last 19 games for captain Wayne Rooney. Far

:19:23. > :19:26.more subtle from Burnley's point of view as they protect the six best

:19:27. > :19:31.home record in the league, Sam Vokes has a hamstring injury so Andre Gray

:19:32. > :19:34.is recall. Heaton, Keane and Brady faced the club where they began

:19:35. > :19:43.their footballing education. The amount of Jose Mourinho changes are

:19:44. > :19:45.state total, eight, as well as Rooney, there's a start for Anthony

:19:46. > :19:48.Martial and Daley Blind in the centre of defence, Marcus Rashford

:19:49. > :19:53.is only a substitute, along with Mkhitaryan and Carrick.

:19:54. > :19:59.Given away by Pogba. Sloppy and sluggish start from both teams.

:20:00. > :20:12.That's a Burnley free kick. Heaton takes, looking for Ashley

:20:13. > :20:17.Barnes. He's been picked up early in this game by Fellaini, but Barnes

:20:18. > :20:20.won that one. Robbie Brady with the left footed volley wide. Barnes, who

:20:21. > :20:30.wins so much in the air for Burnley. Manchester United know they are

:20:31. > :20:36.going to have to battle for anything they get here today. Martial, his

:20:37. > :20:41.50th Premier League appearance up against Keane.

:20:42. > :20:49.Martial once more. Taking on Keane. He's got it across as well. Herrera

:20:50. > :20:55.is in there, and it's Wayne Rooney, denied by Heaton. You do feel any

:20:56. > :20:59.kind of contact there from Rooney would have resulted in a goal. Ben

:21:00. > :21:04.Mee did well to take some power off the shot. His second Premier League

:21:05. > :21:19.start since December. That's a good ball from Herrera, if

:21:20. > :21:23.Young can keep it in. Time to return the favour, early from Herrera.

:21:24. > :21:26.Rooney was in there, needed the intervention of Matt Lowton. A first

:21:27. > :21:36.corner of the game after 11 minutes, is Manchester United's. Fellaini

:21:37. > :21:39.arriving, straight at Heaton. He was allowed to attack risk Marouane

:21:40. > :21:46.Fellaini, away from Keane, the direction was never going to trouble

:21:47. > :21:47.the Burnley captain. Marcus Rashford being wrapped in the proverbial

:21:48. > :22:03.cotton wool. Burnley free kick. Fellaini

:22:04. > :22:08.penalised again. A little nudge. It was little, was it? A prominent

:22:09. > :22:10.nudge on Ashley Barnes. Robbie Brady's delivery. Michael Keane

:22:11. > :22:26.coming in. Still alive. Gray. Another chance for Brady to deliver

:22:27. > :22:33.this. Away by Rooney. Martial, he's got Herrera to his right. Still

:22:34. > :22:40.Martial. He'd seen the Spaniard Pogba is totally free. It's back to

:22:41. > :22:43.Martial. What a devastating break. Anthony Martial marks his 50th

:22:44. > :22:48.Premier League appearance and his recall to the Manchester United team

:22:49. > :22:54.with a goal. After ten games without one, clinical. Rulli started it with

:22:55. > :23:00.a clearance inside his own penalty area. -- Rooney. Martial took up the

:23:01. > :23:06.battered. He knew exactly where Herrera was. A terrific ball back to

:23:07. > :23:10.him and Martial did the rest. His 15th career Premier League goal, one

:23:11. > :23:14.touch controlled it. The second one finished it. And after 21 minutes,

:23:15. > :23:17.Manchester United are in front at Turf Moor. Burnley nil, Manchester

:23:18. > :23:27.United one. I'm not so sure Burnley would have

:23:28. > :23:31.planned for this game with Anthony Martial as a leading figure in the

:23:32. > :23:37.Manchester United line. He has the telling contribution. On his recall

:23:38. > :23:48.so far. Here's the Frenchman again. In two Rooney. It was just about a

:23:49. > :23:54.clean challenge. Didn't look as though Barton got any of the ball

:23:55. > :23:57.well. Just watching Barton coming from behind him. He doesn't get the

:23:58. > :24:04.ball. I can understand Wayne Rooney's question to Anthony Taylor.

:24:05. > :24:15.Burnley certainly affected, conceding a goal.

:24:16. > :24:23.Gray trying to get the better of Blind. The header was from Ashley

:24:24. > :24:32.Young. The hair came along way, got there first Burnley throw.

:24:33. > :24:40.Lowton with it, towards Barnes. Just beaten to it by Darmian. Fellaini

:24:41. > :24:45.first with the second ball. Pogba 40 was being held. Anthony Taylor

:24:46. > :24:54.agreed. -- Pogba thought he was being held. That's falling guard to

:24:55. > :24:56.chase, and chase he will. -- that's for Lingard to chase. Martial in

:24:57. > :25:06.support. The header, straight to Pogba. Good

:25:07. > :25:15.feet from him. Martial is away from Ben he. It's squeezed in by Rooney.

:25:16. > :25:20.2-0 Manchester United. Wayne Rooney, on his return to the team, has his

:25:21. > :25:25.goal. He didn't give this up. Martial is definitely onside. Tom

:25:26. > :25:30.Heaton did well initially. Couldn't quite get there. Rooney was the

:25:31. > :25:33.first to react, most certainly over the line and the visitors have their

:25:34. > :25:39.second. A little untidy there but credit Rooney. He got there first,

:25:40. > :25:46.bobbled off Michael Keane as well, and over the line. Majesty and I

:25:47. > :25:51.to's all-time goal-scorer has his 251st for the clubs Manchester

:25:52. > :25:55.United's all-time goal-scorer. Ward couldn't keep it out. Burnley nil,

:25:56. > :26:13.Manchester United two. Pogba has got it back from Marty.

:26:14. > :26:20.Might fancy ago. He does. A decent try. Denied by Heaton. Still alive

:26:21. > :26:28.here potentially with Young. Afflict off Lingard. Away by Tom Heaton, for

:26:29. > :26:32.Burnley. You just wonder whether this took a touch on the way

:26:33. > :26:40.through. It did. Caught it sweetly, Paul Pogba. Just clipped off Jeff

:26:41. > :26:42.Hendrick. Well, he had to turn to Martial and two Rooney today. Both

:26:43. > :26:54.have responded with goals. Mkhitaryan trying to bend it into

:26:55. > :26:57.the run of Rashford. Heaton was committed and trying to squeeze it

:26:58. > :27:01.home for the near post, Marcus Rashford. And how that isn't a

:27:02. > :27:07.corner, I don't know. Tom Heaton saved it. Peter Kirkup, the

:27:08. > :27:11.referee's assistant has said goal kick. Heaton outcome, backpedalled,

:27:12. > :27:16.and saves it. As it stands, this run will stretch to one win in 11

:27:17. > :27:22.Premier League Elding -- games. He said to me earlier this week they

:27:23. > :27:30.still don't feel safe. Pogba won it back. Now Rashford to Pogba's left.

:27:31. > :27:34.Mkhitaryan to his right. They all stood off Pogba, just wide of the

:27:35. > :27:39.target in the end and they backed off, he saw the gap and it just went

:27:40. > :27:44.the wrong side of the post from Paul Pogba. His last Premier League goal

:27:45. > :27:50.was back in 2016. I'm sure he expected a tough day at the office,

:27:51. > :27:53.but ultimately a good end to a great week.

:27:54. > :27:59.Point behind Manchester City heading to the Etihad on Thursday? Yes, now

:28:00. > :28:05.we have the same number of matches and one pointless, obviously. They

:28:06. > :28:10.play now one match per week until the end of the season. We have the

:28:11. > :28:18.semifinals that are very important for us. It's more difficult for us,

:28:19. > :28:23.but we are going to try. How pleased were you to be back in the starting

:28:24. > :28:26.XI today? Yes, of course, you want to play games and I'm thankful I've

:28:27. > :28:30.done that today. I'm pleased I got the goal. I think the most important

:28:31. > :28:35.thing of course was the three points and keeping a good run going and

:28:36. > :28:39.building momentum. Although you've done 250 times for this club, when

:28:40. > :28:47.you get a goal like today, is it still was a rush, the same feeling?

:28:48. > :28:49.Yes, scoring the goal is the best feeling in football and obviously

:28:50. > :28:52.winning trophies is the pinnacle in terms of your team, but on an

:28:53. > :28:56.individual point of view it's the best feeling is scoring goals. You

:28:57. > :29:00.said earlier in the week you still don't feel 100% safe. Is that the

:29:01. > :29:04.same after the weekend results? I don't think anybody does. You have

:29:05. > :29:08.to do what you have to do unknown to the -- and until it's done we keep

:29:09. > :29:14.fighting and working until we've got everything we can get. You want

:29:15. > :29:17.another win as soon as possible you want as many wins on the table, the

:29:18. > :29:21.fact is we've been down this road a few times at the other end of the

:29:22. > :29:24.market. Obviously the Championship at once before, when we are fighting

:29:25. > :29:26.for every point so we know what it's about. It's about taking the next

:29:27. > :29:33.four. Let's start with Anthony Martial who

:29:34. > :29:38.flourished today in a season where he maybe hasn't flourished in. He

:29:39. > :29:41.has had some problems off the pitch and taken some criticism from the

:29:42. > :29:44.merger, which is never nice but responded in the right way. He

:29:45. > :29:49.played centrally, which was a bit of a surprise when Rooney was starting

:29:50. > :29:54.as well. I like this, I want to run behind. With his pace... He is a bit

:29:55. > :29:58.short on matches but the intention was there and I like that. Strong,

:29:59. > :30:02.powerful. We have seen his talent last season, we know the qualities

:30:03. > :30:07.he has got, it is the consistency and desires sometimes that has been

:30:08. > :30:11.questioned. This is unbelievable, great feat, he is off. I would

:30:12. > :30:14.suggest jury could have been a bit more cynical there and brought him

:30:15. > :30:19.down but he tries to do the honest thing. Good pass from Herera and it

:30:20. > :30:25.is calmness in front of goal, it is a good finish from Marshall. There

:30:26. > :30:28.are parts of his game he could work on -- from Martial. There are times

:30:29. > :30:32.when you play the lone striker role and you need to be a bit more

:30:33. > :30:36.dependent and reliable, but when he gets in the final third, he goes at

:30:37. > :30:42.people, he scares defenders. Nice and positive. The more games he

:30:43. > :30:46.gets, the more confident he will get, but the linkup play with Rooney

:30:47. > :30:51.was nice. He mixes his game up quite well, comes to feed, spins behind.

:30:52. > :30:54.But when you play in that role, you do have to be a team player and

:30:55. > :30:58.there, I am thinking you have the bust a gut to get into the box

:30:59. > :31:03.because Rooney has no one to cross do. The more he plays that, the

:31:04. > :31:11.better he will get at it. Again, bust a gut, give your partner

:31:12. > :31:14.adoption, but -- an option, but overall, very good after the

:31:15. > :31:17.negativity he has had. Is that the way he should be playing? You can

:31:18. > :31:20.look at Rashford over the last month and his impressive form has come

:31:21. > :31:26.when he has gone through the middle and now you see it with Martial. You

:31:27. > :31:29.can't just play one position and expect to play there. Matty Blair

:31:30. > :31:36.get back, I had to play right midfield to get in the Liverpool

:31:37. > :31:39.team -- Matty played left back. You have to work hard whatever position

:31:40. > :31:42.new player and the more comfortable you get and the more wisdom you get

:31:43. > :31:47.on the pitch, you might move centrally. You can't just want to

:31:48. > :31:51.play in one position. But, yes, he is better there. It might have

:31:52. > :31:56.sounded ridiculous in September or October, but Manchester United fans,

:31:57. > :32:06.I think, would be more concerned about Marcos Rojo's injury, because

:32:07. > :32:11.they have people to replace others, but how did his understudy do today?

:32:12. > :32:13.I don't think they had too much to worry about today, they were

:32:14. > :32:17.massively tested that what they did do, they did very well and formed

:32:18. > :32:22.quite a classic partnership. You have Bailey, who is more of the

:32:23. > :32:33.enforcer, and blind is a lot more composed -- Eric Bailly. Lined

:32:34. > :32:40.showing real instinct to get at the near post and cover. Pace isn't an

:32:41. > :32:44.asset, so he shows his intelligence there to hold him up. It is using

:32:45. > :32:48.his brain and understanding his limitations. His distribution looks

:32:49. > :32:55.effortless, but I can tell you it is well skilled, the accuracy of his

:32:56. > :32:58.balls and the weight of his passing. And then you have his partner, who

:32:59. > :33:02.is very different. He is a bit all action and throws himself in the way

:33:03. > :33:06.of things. Desperate to get a block in on the edge of the box. He makes

:33:07. > :33:14.aggressive choices and he is the out and out defender, he enjoys getting

:33:15. > :33:17.blocks in American tackles and today, they formed a really good

:33:18. > :33:22.partnership. They coped really well today. Are you concerned about

:33:23. > :33:29.Burnley, given the situation and given the momentum that Hull and

:33:30. > :33:32.Swansea have below them? Only Middlesbrough have one fewer matches

:33:33. > :33:36.over ten games and there is a 5-point gap between them and

:33:37. > :33:39.Swansea. I think there is a little concerned there but they have two

:33:40. > :33:43.home games coming up against teams they will really fancy themselves

:33:44. > :33:47.against. It wasn't one of Burnley's best performances today but I think

:33:48. > :33:51.they will be OK. I would rather have points on the board, because the

:33:52. > :33:56.others have got to win some games. And West Brom and West Ham, to use a

:33:57. > :34:00.cliche, haven't really got anything to play for. No, absolutely. Burnley

:34:01. > :34:04.are looking over their shoulder a little bit, it is a dangerous

:34:05. > :34:06.situation for them. Sean Dyche won't let them rest on their laurels.

:34:07. > :34:08.Following us tonight - highlights of today's FA Cup

:34:09. > :34:10.semifinal between Arsenal and Manchester City.

:34:11. > :34:13.The opening day of the Spring Series and highlights of Manchester City

:34:14. > :34:15.Women's Champions League semifinal feature on the Women's

:34:16. > :34:23.And on Wednesday, I'll bring you commentary of Crystal Palace

:34:24. > :34:25.against Tottenham over on BBC 5 Live.

:34:26. > :34:28.We're about to find out who's won the PFA Players'

:34:29. > :34:44.but first, let's take a look at the nominees.

:34:45. > :35:04.A world-class finish from a world-class player! What strike. To

:35:05. > :35:10.add to the collection of Harry Kane. Look at this from N'Golo Kante,

:35:11. > :35:17.brilliant. And Lukaku finishes as Lukaku does.

:35:18. > :35:30.The shimmy, the pink, its magnificent -- the dink. And the

:35:31. > :35:31.2017 men's player's Player of the Year is N'Golo Kante.

:35:32. > :35:41.APPLAUSE This season, N'Golo Kante has

:35:42. > :35:46.featured in the PFA Premier League team of the year. He of course won

:35:47. > :35:48.the Premier League title in only his first season last year and

:35:49. > :35:56.successfully broke into the French starting line-up.

:35:57. > :36:05.Very, very many congratulations. How does it feel here to be honoured

:36:06. > :36:13.with the men's PFA players' Player of the Year. Good evening everyone.

:36:14. > :36:19.It is unusual to be chosen by the players and it is very special. What

:36:20. > :36:22.an impact you have made to live in the Premier League, obviously with

:36:23. > :36:26.Leicester, you won the Premier League title. Quite possibly on

:36:27. > :36:32.course for another one. It is not a bad beginning to live in England's

:36:33. > :36:36.top-flight. My first two seasons are very beautiful, last season was very

:36:37. > :36:42.beautiful and so far, this is a good season and we have to finish well

:36:43. > :36:47.but so far, very good season. What is the secret behind your success? I

:36:48. > :36:53.have to improve to work for the team, to win, to win every time and

:36:54. > :36:57.we have to finish the season very well. You are a very, very popular

:36:58. > :37:06.winner here tonight. So very many congratulations. Ladies and

:37:07. > :37:15.gentlemen, the men's PFA Players' Player of the Year, N'Golo Kante.

:37:16. > :37:18.Deserved, Matthew? 100%. I know, Danny, you kind of agree but

:37:19. > :37:22.has slightly different views but for me, he is the most valuable player

:37:23. > :37:27.in the Premier League with his contribution. He might not be the

:37:28. > :37:30.most creative or sudden impact wise, but over the course of the season,

:37:31. > :37:35.the most valuable player in the Premier League. You are learning,

:37:36. > :37:41.Danny agrees are some things and then will disagree. I said before he

:37:42. > :37:45.is the one you can't replace. So if Hazard isn't there, you can put

:37:46. > :37:50.Will.i.am in but Hazard against the other big boys has turned the game

:37:51. > :37:55.the Chelsea -- you can put Willian in. Kante is the best midfielder in

:37:56. > :37:58.the Premier League, if not Europe. The other thing that came through

:37:59. > :38:02.from watching those pictures, the warmth in the room towards him,

:38:03. > :38:05.which I guess might not always be the case when you go to these

:38:06. > :38:10.things, I have never been, but real warmth. But the way he plays, who

:38:11. > :38:15.plays with a smile, he has this big smile on his face and his attitude

:38:16. > :38:19.and the way... I think that is the other thing, every week, you know

:38:20. > :38:22.what this guy is delivering. I don't know if you can say that about

:38:23. > :38:23.Hazard but week in, week out, this guy does the business.

:38:24. > :38:26.And a few minutes ago, the Women's Player of

:38:27. > :38:35.These were the names to look out for.

:38:36. > :38:43.And Lucy Bronze scores the opening goal.

:38:44. > :38:55.And it is in from Ross. It is Jill Scott who has applied the finish.

:38:56. > :39:10.And the women's Player of the Year goes to Lucy Bronze. Lucy wins this

:39:11. > :39:17.award for the second time, having previously won it back in 2014. She

:39:18. > :39:21.scored the winning goal... To win the award and as a defender as well,

:39:22. > :39:25.you don't really get a lot of accolades but it is a great award to

:39:26. > :39:28.win and to have it voted for by all of the opposition players, it makes

:39:29. > :39:32.it really special. And you have been part of what we have spoken about,

:39:33. > :39:37.the invincible team at Manchester City. How proud are you to have

:39:38. > :39:40.played a part in that? Very proud, it shows in the team of the year and

:39:41. > :39:44.the nominees for both young and senior player that, as a team, we

:39:45. > :39:47.have been very successful and all the individuals have performed

:39:48. > :39:52.really well in the team. And this award for me is with all of my

:39:53. > :39:57.thanks for the players on the team, because without them, I would be

:39:58. > :40:05.anywhere near this. Too good to bad still to come but first, Saturday's

:40:06. > :40:08.goals and we start in the Vitality stadium -- two Good two Bad still to

:40:09. > :40:14.come. Queue goes to the return from

:40:15. > :40:19.Daniels. What a goal, absolutely superb from Joshua King. Bournemouth

:40:20. > :40:26.ahead in just over a minute and a half. Daniels. He has got the

:40:27. > :40:34.beating of him and he nearly found King again. That is a profitable

:40:35. > :40:42.route. And now it is Afobe! 2-0. We are any 16 minutes into this game.

:40:43. > :40:46.-- only 16 minutes into this game. That'll be a free kick for the

:40:47. > :40:49.challenge by Gaston Ramirez, who has already been booked by the referee.

:40:50. > :40:54.It is a second yellow card and it goes from bad to worse for

:40:55. > :40:58.Middlesbrough. And gain, they don't get the ball

:40:59. > :41:05.away. It could open up for Bournemouth once more. And it is

:41:06. > :41:08.three time. Marc Pugh. Yet again, Middlesbrough didn't clear their

:41:09. > :41:14.lines and once more, they are made to pay for it.

:41:15. > :41:20.Fraser to Charlie Daniels. Daniel is still going. It is four. And it is

:41:21. > :41:24.turning into quite a party for Bournemouth against the ten men of

:41:25. > :41:35.Middlesbrough, who are enduring a wretched afternoon.

:41:36. > :41:41.Half Mason Holgate's cross for Lukaku to attack and it nearly came

:41:42. > :41:45.through the Calvert-Lewin. The first meaningful ball hit into the West

:41:46. > :41:50.Ham box for Lukaku to attack in the entire game.

:41:51. > :42:00.Lanzini with it, up comes Collins and Winston Reid. Aimed past the far

:42:01. > :42:04.post. Fonte. And is that the last chance we will have? West Ham have

:42:05. > :42:08.created more chances, certainly and Everton, very disappointing day. If

:42:09. > :42:15.they are to finish in the top five, they've got to be better than this.

:42:16. > :42:23.Fernando Llorente! Swansea make the breakthrough. Just the start that

:42:24. > :42:31.Paul Clement and this part of south Wales have been dreaming of.

:42:32. > :42:42.Carol. Drives it towards goal and scores! -- Tom Carroll. Fortune is

:42:43. > :42:44.favouring Swansea City. And that's the reaction down in the Swansea

:42:45. > :43:02.technical area. Unbridled joy. Then going through on Niang. And

:43:03. > :43:06.it's a red card! It's a red card for Oumar Niasse. And what a turning

:43:07. > :43:10.point that might be, not just today but in Hull City's season.

:43:11. > :43:15.Suddenly Hull City have a few players forward if they can use it

:43:16. > :43:23.quickly. Robertson has found Grosicki. Markovic is in the middle.

:43:24. > :43:25.Against the bar... And in! What a turnaround, what a counterattack,

:43:26. > :43:32.what an important goal for Hull City. Another chance for Hull.

:43:33. > :43:39.Grosicki over it once more. It is going to drop for Clucas this time.

:43:40. > :43:45.Good shot! Fantastic shot! First Markovic and now Sam Clucas have

:43:46. > :43:50.Hull City heading for another three points won at home.

:43:51. > :43:57.Liverpool's defeat has dented their top-four ambitions,

:43:58. > :43:58.with both Manchester clubs in striking distance

:43:59. > :44:03.United are now just a point behind City, who they play on Thursday.

:44:04. > :44:05.Crystal Palace have taken a big stride towards survival,

:44:06. > :44:07.jumping four places to 12th with their sixth win

:44:08. > :44:29.Maybe Hull City's amazing home form is down to the pre-match

:44:30. > :44:33.entertainment at the KCOM. Maybe not. They celebrate a goal with

:44:34. > :44:42.passion, Hull, although where did he come from? And our latest hand

:44:43. > :44:49.coordination celebration ends in Rock, paper scissors, with Benteke

:44:50. > :44:54.and Sako. Can you talk us through... Have you got your black tights on?

:44:55. > :45:03.What are you wearing? Why have you put that on? Anything, any excuse!

:45:04. > :45:07.Well done, mate. You must be really pleased, great achievement. I was

:45:08. > :45:09.really pleased until you put that on! I'll get you back, Danny Murphy,

:45:10. > :45:13.I'll get you back! Back to the PFA now and let's catch

:45:14. > :45:17.up on the night's other winners. The winner of the Women's

:45:18. > :45:19.Young Player of the Year She's looking forward

:45:20. > :45:24.to an FA Cup final in May. And Tottenham's Dele Alli picked up

:45:25. > :45:36.the Men's Young Player award It's an unbelievable feeling,

:45:37. > :45:39.especially to be voted by the other players as well, it's a huge honour

:45:40. > :45:43.and I couldn't have done it without my team-mates and the other boys at

:45:44. > :45:47.Tottenham. It's been an unbelievable season for resource. We've just got

:45:48. > :45:51.keep going, keep fighting and keep improving a team.

:45:52. > :45:55.And this year's PFA Merit Award winner -

:45:56. > :46:06.The former England captain. Of playing for Manchester United and

:46:07. > :46:10.England my whole young life and obviously to have represented my

:46:11. > :46:16.country for the amount of times I did, that is my proudest thing as a

:46:17. > :46:23.footballer. To be captain as well, winning trophies, every one of them

:46:24. > :46:26.means exactly the same thing. You'll ask any professional athlete to win

:46:27. > :46:30.a trophy, it doesn't matter where you win it, they all mean the same

:46:31. > :46:35.thing. Obviously 99 was a special year for me. To win a trouble with
