0:00:11 > 0:00:14The World Cup finals, the grandest stage for football's most graceful

0:00:14 > 0:00:22artists. Command commandMastery of a football. Beautiful turn.

0:00:22 > 0:00:32Strengthen, technique. Mei dances away - and he scores!Oh, magic.

0:00:32 > 0:00:41What a fantastic goal. Oh, it's absolutely brilliant. Neymar scores.

0:00:41 > 0:00:52Suarez has knocked it in. Ronaldo! Oh, what a fantastic goal.

0:00:52 > 0:00:56Brilliant! Cahill. Oh, what a

0:00:56 > 0:01:01Brilliant! Cahill. Oh, what a strike. Driven. Oh, brilliant goal.

0:01:01 > 0:01:03Take your seats for the ultimate showstopper.

0:01:10 > 0:01:12After 88 years and 20 tournaments, the 2018

0:01:12 > 0:01:14World Cup is going to Russia.

0:01:14 > 0:01:18Today, we'll find out who meets who at next summer's tournament.

0:01:18 > 0:01:28The draw is taking place in the Kremlin Palace, in Moscow.

0:01:30 > 0:01:34Joachim Low is there, the coach of the reigning champions.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36Brazil are again among the favourites

0:01:36 > 0:01:44and their manager is Tite.

0:01:44 > 0:01:49Good to see Peter Schmeichel helping guests off the buses as they arrive!

0:01:50 > 0:01:56We will be live in the Kremlin for the draw in 15 minutes' time.

0:01:56 > 0:02:05Here in the studio is former England captain, Alan Shearer,

0:02:05 > 0:02:08the South American football expert, Tim Vickery.

0:02:08 > 0:02:13This is the most exciting bit from England's point of view, waiting to

0:02:13 > 0:02:19see who you will play?Don't be so negative. No problem getting to

0:02:19 > 0:02:21World Cups and European Championships the problem is when we

0:02:21 > 0:02:25are there. It shouldn't be hard to improve on our last tournament,

0:02:25 > 0:02:30should it? Whether it was 18 months ago or two years before that. We've

0:02:30 > 0:02:34been dreadful in the tournament. So that's what I'm looking forward to,

0:02:34 > 0:02:39is some improvement.Should low expectations help us?Well, it

0:02:39 > 0:02:43hasn't in the past because I don't think there were high expectations

0:02:43 > 0:02:50in France 18 months ago from a lot of England fans. The performances

0:02:50 > 0:02:53disappointed us hugely then. We have to show progress and show

0:02:53 > 0:02:57improvement. That should not be difficult after our last few

0:02:57 > 0:03:09tournaments.We will go through the Pots Tim, Who is best placed among

0:03:09 > 0:03:13the South American countries for this World Cup?Without a shadow of

0:03:13 > 0:03:22a doubt Brazil. They went through a weak South American contingent in

0:03:22 > 0:03:27qualification. The 0-0 against England gave them the power of good.

0:03:27 > 0:03:32Brought them to earth. It reenhe forced the challenge is against the

0:03:32 > 0:03:36western Europeans. Five of the six finalists in the last World Cups

0:03:36 > 0:03:39have been from western Europe. Brazil, if they want to win the

0:03:39 > 0:03:42World Cup, they will have to beat the likes of France, Spain and

0:03:42 > 0:03:47Germany. They think they have a real chance. It's the most attractive

0:03:47 > 0:03:52Brazil side that I remember, I can remember for years. Passing the ball

0:03:52 > 0:03:56better than Brazil sides have done for years. They are capable, win or

0:03:56 > 0:04:00lose, in eight months time, whatever, they are capable of

0:04:00 > 0:04:06reminding us of why we fell in love with Brazil in the first place.

0:04:06 > 0:04:10Argentina should be attractive, have had a mixed bag in qualifying? They

0:04:10 > 0:04:14will be fascinating. They had problems qualifying. When you are a

0:04:14 > 0:04:25big team under that kind of pressure, it can seem as if you are

0:04:25 > 0:04:33running through trecle. They were dependent on Messi. We are seeing a

0:04:33 > 0:04:37side that is passing the ball better and looking better collectively.

0:04:37 > 0:04:42There are serious struckal problems in the defence. No surprise that

0:04:42 > 0:04:47they collapsed against Nigeria in a friendly. Played in Russia recently.

0:04:47 > 0:04:53They lost 4-2. Argentina will be fascinating with Messi in one

0:04:53 > 0:04:56penalty but disappointing in the other. The draw is slightly

0:04:56 > 0:05:09different to how you may remember it from four years ago.

0:05:09 > 0:05:12All the pots decided on world rankings instead of continents.

0:05:12 > 0:05:13England aren't amongst the seeded countries,

0:05:13 > 0:05:15so they could face the hosts Russia, Belgium or Poland.

0:05:15 > 0:05:18But also amongst the seeds are the European champions Portugal,

0:05:18 > 0:05:20and some of the giants of World Cup history.

0:05:28 > 0:05:40COMMENTATOR: Pele. On the right. And he scores! Brazil win it.

0:05:40 > 0:05:44COMMENTATOR:France have scored first in the World Cup can Final.

0:05:44 > 0:05:55It's Zidane.France are the 1998 World Champions.

0:05:55 > 0:06:01COMMENTATOR:Oh, my word. Have you ever seen anything like that?

0:06:03 > 0:06:16A victory and a trophy, so precious. COMMENTATOR:Here's Maradona, again.

0:06:16 > 0:06:23He won't need any of them. You have to say that's magnificent.The

0:06:23 > 0:06:25world's greatest player receives the world's most important football

0:06:25 > 0:06:28prize.

0:06:32 > 0:06:38COMMENTATOR:West Germany. Is that the goal that wins the World Cup?

0:06:38 > 0:06:42He's scored for Germany. In football, Germany rules the world,

0:06:42 > 0:06:43again.

0:06:43 > 0:06:51football, Germany rules the world, again. So here are all the other

0:06:51 > 0:06:51Pots:

0:06:56 > 0:07:04. They were decided on world rankingsing in October by Fifa.

0:07:04 > 0:07:06So England are in pot 2, surprisingly alongside Spain,

0:07:06 > 0:07:09who aren't seeded after they dropped to eighth in the world.

0:07:09 > 0:07:11Spain suffer because Russia are seeded as hosts,

0:07:11 > 0:07:12despite being ranked 65th.

0:07:12 > 0:07:14England could face Iceland again at a major tournament.

0:07:14 > 0:07:17They're in Pot 3, along with Denmark, who were so impressive

0:07:17 > 0:07:18in beating Ireland in the play-offs.

0:07:18 > 0:07:20Costa Rica were quarter-finalists in 2014 after topping England's Group.

0:07:20 > 0:07:23Serbia, ranked 37th, seem to be the team that most people

0:07:23 > 0:07:25want to avoid in Pot 4.

0:07:25 > 0:07:26Along with Iceland, Panama are the other team

0:07:26 > 0:07:29making their debut in the finals.

0:07:32 > 0:07:34But the draw is a bit more complicated than that,

0:07:34 > 0:07:36as Jonathan Pearce explained, when I spoke to him

0:07:36 > 0:07:38outside the Kremlin.

0:07:38 > 0:07:41They are trying to keep teams from the same confederations apart, Mark.

0:07:41 > 0:07:47For example, a South American team can't be put in with another South

0:07:47 > 0:07:51American team an African team can't go with another African team. Can

0:07:51 > 0:07:54you have two European countries in one Group, but no more. It means

0:07:54 > 0:07:59that each of the Groups will have one have European team in, six of

0:07:59 > 0:08:04the Groups will have two European teams in. You have to skip a couple

0:08:04 > 0:08:11of Groups in in the draw. In the dress rehearsal England came out

0:08:11 > 0:08:15with Belgium, they skipped a group and went in with Argentina. They

0:08:15 > 0:08:20went in with Panama and Sweden. Nearly a repeat of 2002.What's the

0:08:20 > 0:08:25feeling out there when it comes to the difficulty of the draw? Are

0:08:25 > 0:08:28people looking at teams they might be drawn with? Are they looking at a

0:08:28 > 0:08:34slot in a Group and how many miles that would mean travel wise?Well, I

0:08:34 > 0:08:39spoke to the FA about this. Because they will be based near St

0:08:39 > 0:08:42Petersburg, controversial choice, I think the base will be done up by

0:08:42 > 0:08:51the time they get there. They don't think they will have more than a two

0:08:51 > 0:08:55or three hour flight. They are OK. The worse case scenario may be

0:08:55 > 0:09:00Germany who haven't failed to clear a Group since 1938. If England get

0:09:00 > 0:09:04Germany or France, who have a strong squad, they can't get Denmark or

0:09:04 > 0:09:10Sweden from Pot 3. England's most difficult Group may well be the

0:09:10 > 0:09:16enemy Argentina. They struggled in call qualifying and dependent on

0:09:16 > 0:09:19Messi for goals. That would always be a difficult one, for me. That

0:09:19 > 0:09:24would put them in with Denmark or Sweden. We find them tricky, Sweden

0:09:24 > 0:09:30in World Cup finals. Two draws in two. From Pot 4 I think England

0:09:30 > 0:09:38would find Nigeria... I think anyone would find Nigeria hard. That would

0:09:38 > 0:09:42be a difficult Group that one. Jonathan Pearce talking to me

0:09:42 > 0:09:56earlier. This is the scene inside the Kremlin Theatre at the moment.

0:10:21 > 0:10:23If you're not aware, Gary Lineker has the title

0:10:23 > 0:10:26of "Draw Conductor" and he'll be joined by the likes of

0:10:26 > 0:10:28Diego Maradona and Gordon Banks on stage shortly.

0:10:28 > 0:10:30If you want to see the entertainment Fifa are providing in the build-up,

0:10:32 > 0:10:36Poland, I'm correct in saying, have had one friendly.In 12 months.In

0:10:36 > 0:10:4212 months. That was their aim. Tim informed us one wise guy went to see

0:10:42 > 0:10:47them.Romanian math that 'tis.Said this is the stra gill and what they

0:10:47 > 0:10:54should be doing in order to be in that Pot 1.It's very good attention

0:10:54 > 0:10:59to detail, is the other way to look at it?Isn't it just. The World Cup

0:10:59 > 0:11:05Draw, we are anxious for the who. It's the who, who. We are like owls

0:11:05 > 0:11:10going - who, who, who. It's more to do with the where. It's not just

0:11:10 > 0:11:14where your games are, it's where your base camp is. You have to go

0:11:14 > 0:11:19back to that base camp at the end of every game. These logistical

0:11:19 > 0:11:25decisions are very, very important. Part of the draw is that some

0:11:25 > 0:11:31countries will travel much more than others. It's about high Absolutely.

0:11:31 > 0:11:37Hopes and logistics.England picked their base just outside St

0:11:37 > 0:11:41Petersburg. This is where the games will take place and the various time

0:11:41 > 0:11:47zones they could be playing in. A couple of hours difference from

0:11:47 > 0:11:50Moscow the further east you go. If you look at where they might be in

0:11:50 > 0:11:58the draw, Alan. We are getting geeky here. If we talk about planning. The

0:11:58 > 0:12:10most favourable distance wise would be to come out in Group B3. If they

0:12:10 > 0:12:16are C3 it's 6,000 miles.Do you think it make as big difference?

0:12:16 > 0:12:20They aren't travelling in cattle class or in a car. They travel in

0:12:20 > 0:12:25the best jets and the best coaches etc, etc. I'm not sure it makes that

0:12:25 > 0:12:29huge a difference. I know you disagree with that.You have much

0:12:29 > 0:12:34more experience of travelling in executive travel than I do! It makes

0:12:34 > 0:12:41me jealous. You should do Match of the Day 2 with me.I have turned up

0:12:41 > 0:12:45cattle class from Rio from Lisbon! The example I would give is Italy.

0:12:45 > 0:12:49In the last World Cup. We have a World Cup in a country the size of a

0:12:49 > 0:12:53continent, as it was with Brazil three-and-a-half, four years ago and

0:12:53 > 0:12:58Russia this time. Italy based themselves a couple of hours down

0:12:58 > 0:13:02the coast from Rio. It was a strange decision because it wasn't

0:13:02 > 0:13:05particularly handy for any airports. The draw gave them three games right

0:13:05 > 0:13:09at the other end of the country. They got to fly up there and fly

0:13:09 > 0:13:16back. They spent more time in the aeroplane. You saw what happened to

0:13:16 > 0:13:19Italy in that World Cup.Do you not just think they weren't a good team

0:13:19 > 0:13:24then? IsUnfortunately they were good enough to beat England. You

0:13:24 > 0:13:28don't think it will make that much difference. It's not just the travel

0:13:28 > 0:13:32or the style or mode of transport you go. In this day and age we are

0:13:32 > 0:13:39told about times on the train and getting your ideas across and were

0:13:39 > 0:13:45managers moan about Champions League games? They have the best travel,

0:13:45 > 0:13:48best fitness guys, the best of everything. I'm not a great believer

0:13:48 > 0:13:52it makes that much difference. When we asked you to look at what

0:13:52 > 0:13:56wouldn't work for you as a group, you haven't gone for travel,

0:13:56 > 0:14:00obviously. Why have you picked this as not a very good GroupWell, you

0:14:00 > 0:14:06work for two years to get to a World Cup. Now me, personally, as a

0:14:06 > 0:14:09player, all the players will be watching the draw this afternoon

0:14:09 > 0:14:13wherever they are, they will be looking - if that draw as an England

0:14:13 > 0:14:19player was to come up. I would be disappointed. Working two years to

0:14:19 > 0:14:23get to the biggest tournament in the world and you end up with that. Over

0:14:23 > 0:14:27the years we've looked at Groups and tried to suss out whether it's

0:14:27 > 0:14:31positive, good Group or a Group of death or a favourable Group. Forget

0:14:31 > 0:14:37that. England go into tournaments. Their last defeat in a qualifying

0:14:37 > 0:14:44game was in 2009. It was 39 games ago. We go into the tournament in

0:14:44 > 0:14:48good form, having beaten everyone around in the qualifying games and

0:14:48 > 0:14:51we have disappointed. I think, if you get a big hitter in the Group

0:14:51 > 0:14:57you can look forward to that and I think traditionally historical

0:14:57 > 0:15:03England play better against better teams. We saw the Group in 2010 when

0:15:03 > 0:15:09everyone was thinking - what an easy group. USA, Slovenia, algear yachl

0:15:09 > 0:15:12we were hopeless in them. Not -You want something to focus the mind a

0:15:12 > 0:15:15bit?Absolutely. I think we go in against the better teams we can

0:15:15 > 0:15:25focus. We can be determined. I think we will be at our best then. I don't

0:15:25 > 0:15:33expect us to go to World Cup.

0:15:33 > 0:15:39When that draw came out, we were a bit?You play in a World Cup so you

0:15:39 > 0:15:42cannot say you are disappointed with that, you go and you give your best.

0:15:42 > 0:15:48That was not a good group. But I think with this set of players and

0:15:48 > 0:15:53what has gone on in the pass, if we get a big hitter, that can get us up

0:15:53 > 0:15:59and running. And for Panama, you have to do a heck of a lot of

0:15:59 > 0:16:04research!

0:16:04 > 0:16:08For England, this World Cup is a chance to banish some of the painful

0:16:08 > 0:16:12memories of the last few years. Slap bang in the centre of Africa,

0:16:12 > 0:16:16in word's fourth game of a possible seven, let's hope this is the bank

0:16:16 > 0:16:19in the middle of their World Cup campaign. For the first minute, they

0:16:19 > 0:16:28were hopeless. That has given Germany the lead. That is two!

0:16:28 > 0:16:34England are in trouble. And he has smashed it home.Muller has sealed

0:16:34 > 0:16:45it. Every aspect of our performance was poor.He is going to get there!

0:16:45 > 0:16:50Luis Suarez has slotted it in! England have lost concentration,

0:16:50 > 0:16:57they lost Luis Suarez.A dock ways for England once again in 2014, they

0:16:57 > 0:17:01go home without a win to their name. We were hopeless from start to

0:17:01 > 0:17:07finish.Gareth Southgate is waiting for the draw to get under way in the

0:17:07 > 0:17:14Kremlin and earlier, he spoke to Dan.We recognise we are one of only

0:17:14 > 0:17:1731 countries to qualify so it is an exciting moment for everybody and it

0:17:17 > 0:17:21will be nice to know not only who are we are going to play, but where

0:17:21 > 0:17:26and when so we can plan our schedule?Have you decided where you

0:17:26 > 0:17:33want to be based?Yes, we are based in Repino. We have looked at what is

0:17:33 > 0:17:37best for the hotel, and the travel and the climate and any venue, he

0:17:37 > 0:17:42never get everything you would like. But we feel that was the best option

0:17:42 > 0:17:46for us. The travel is the longest flight is three hours and we do that

0:17:46 > 0:17:51any bus journey from Saint George's to London for Wembley games so that

0:17:51 > 0:17:55is neither here nor there. How far realistically can England go in

0:17:55 > 0:17:59Russia?That is the question we're asking ourselves. We have a side of

0:17:59 > 0:18:04high potential. We are excited by our young players in the senior team

0:18:04 > 0:18:07and those who have proved themselves at European and world level this

0:18:07 > 0:18:12year. We liked a little experience of those big matches and we do not

0:18:12 > 0:18:15have many big players who have won major trophies but the future is

0:18:15 > 0:18:18very exciting and it is a great challenge for this group to see how

0:18:18 > 0:18:22far they can go. We cannot go to a World Cup and not try and win. Of

0:18:22 > 0:18:26course a lot of these players, they will peak in May be four years'

0:18:26 > 0:18:30time, but we cannot write off the tournament. Nobody in England would

0:18:30 > 0:18:34except that.If I offered you a quarterfinal of the World Cup next

0:18:34 > 0:18:40summer now, would you take that? Not now, no, we want in -- we have not

0:18:40 > 0:18:44won in knockout match since 2006 and the last two tournament had been a

0:18:44 > 0:18:47disappointment so we have to remember where we are starting from

0:18:47 > 0:18:51this group of young players, but they obviously ambitious. Everything

0:18:51 > 0:18:55is ahead of them. And it is not for me to put a limit on their

0:18:55 > 0:19:01expectations.He is stand if he does and he is dammed if he doesn't with

0:19:01 > 0:19:06those questions. Whatever he says, however he responds, going for a

0:19:06 > 0:19:11quarterfinal or can you win it? It can be twisted one way or another.

0:19:11 > 0:19:13There is no point entering a tournament if you do not believe you

0:19:13 > 0:19:18can win it and that is what he will be saying to his players. Look what

0:19:18 > 0:19:21happened to Portugal two years ago, nobody thought they would go to the

0:19:21 > 0:19:30Euros and when that. But I think being realistic, in this country,

0:19:30 > 0:19:34England, we do not expect England to go because of how poor they have

0:19:34 > 0:19:36been in recent tournaments, we do not expect them from being terrible

0:19:36 > 0:19:43to suddenly be world beaters, but we do expect improvement. You mentioned

0:19:43 > 0:19:47how the goalless draw between Purcell and England was good for

0:19:47 > 0:19:53Brazil and temporary expectations. What was the feeling in Brazil about

0:19:53 > 0:19:57the England performance? They were shocked by how defensive that was

0:19:57 > 0:20:00but I thought that was fascinating because it could have been a

0:20:00 > 0:20:04second-round game in the World Cup and it is 0-0 to the opposition and

0:20:04 > 0:20:10the longer it goes on, the better it is. The coach was impressed by what

0:20:10 > 0:20:16he saw. But there is a key moment in the perception of the England team

0:20:16 > 0:20:20here and abroad, which is the World Cup in South Africa in 2010. It

0:20:20 > 0:20:29seemed they had everything in favour of them, cold weather, a coach,

0:20:29 > 0:20:33Fabio Cannavaro, but still very poor indeed. I would like to ask all in

0:20:33 > 0:20:39this, now England have given attention to the World Cup at youth

0:20:39 > 0:20:44level, winning the under 17 and under 20 World Cup, that generation

0:20:44 > 0:20:47have tournament experience. Today's generation and previous generations

0:20:47 > 0:20:51do not grow up with tournament experience, especially in a context

0:20:51 > 0:20:55where the England players do not play abroad, so they are not used

0:20:55 > 0:20:59being away from home for any length of time, how much of that has had an

0:20:59 > 0:21:05impact on the poor performances in recent tournaments?Yes, I think so,

0:21:05 > 0:21:10all of a sudden, you away for five, six weeks. You train and you weep,

0:21:10 > 0:21:15you go to bed. You train, you be, be go to bed. You watch videos, you

0:21:15 > 0:21:22have your chats with whoever it is, the manager, the coaches. So it is

0:21:22 > 0:21:27very different to what you are used to. So it is of huge benefit, when

0:21:27 > 0:21:32people talk about having experience of tournament football, yes, it is

0:21:32 > 0:21:39about being away from home and learning what to do. The coaching,

0:21:39 > 0:21:44and just how you react with that. And that is definitely part of it.

0:21:44 > 0:21:49He has already started to do it, dipping into that U21 and under 20

0:21:49 > 0:21:57squad. You would advocate that even more, going forward? To use those

0:21:57 > 0:22:02with tournament experience. I think you have two because it is an

0:22:02 > 0:22:06incentive for the guys to do well. If they are doing well and winning

0:22:06 > 0:22:09tournaments and not getting a taste of the first team with England, the

0:22:09 > 0:22:14guys would think, there is something not right here, that is why you have

0:22:14 > 0:22:20got those teams. It is a huge step up from U21, and 20, because I

0:22:20 > 0:22:26remember the U21 team I played in that won the Toulon tournament and

0:22:26 > 0:22:31out of a squad of 21, 22 players, there was only two, myself and David

0:22:31 > 0:22:37James, that went on to play in the first team with England. So plain

0:22:37 > 0:22:43youth level, U21, and 20, there is so much that can go right or wrong,

0:22:43 > 0:22:49it is a huge difference. We have seen other countries by Paris club

0:22:49 > 0:22:52football and rely on people with good tournament experience at youth

0:22:52 > 0:22:58level and bring them into seniors. Uruguay did that. That is how they

0:22:58 > 0:23:01punch above their weight, they have a population of just under three

0:23:01 > 0:23:05million and it cannot hang onto its best players so what is your

0:23:05 > 0:23:10criteria for selection? You are players in Mexico, Turkey, Spain,

0:23:10 > 0:23:13all over the place. So Uruguay do this right from the start, they use

0:23:13 > 0:23:17the youth team to identify players they think would be good enough to

0:23:17 > 0:23:24play in globalised football and they give them a crash course in the

0:23:24 > 0:23:28identity, the importance of the shirt. And if they do well at under

0:23:28 > 0:23:3220 level, they pitch them straight in. In the last couple of months,

0:23:32 > 0:23:35the Uruguay team has totally changed its characteristics. They had play

0:23:35 > 0:23:42for a number of years, everybody behind the ball and Doctor Soares.

0:23:42 > 0:23:50They have put in two under 20 players from this year's World Cup,

0:23:50 > 0:23:56and suddenly, you see a Uruguay midfield that can hold possession

0:23:56 > 0:23:59and that can orchestrate and that is because they have given

0:23:59 > 0:24:03responsibility to people they have groomed all the way up. It was a bit

0:24:03 > 0:24:09perhaps like England have started doing with Gomes. Man of the Match

0:24:09 > 0:24:13for England against Brazil. He was not there based on his Liverpool

0:24:13 > 0:24:18form, it was his form during the England youth system. That is a

0:24:18 > 0:24:21Uruguay have been doing for years. And if they play more at

0:24:21 > 0:24:25international youth level and not as much for their clubs, we do not need

0:24:25 > 0:24:28the discussion about the winter break because they would not be

0:24:28 > 0:24:32tired. They might have been flogged every week in the Premier League. It

0:24:32 > 0:24:37is difficult for the manager to put a guy in who has been doing well in

0:24:37 > 0:24:40the youth team but not really in the first team. That is where part of

0:24:40 > 0:24:45the problem is, getting these players from the youth level into

0:24:45 > 0:24:50their first teams. History will tell as the likes of Manchester City or

0:24:50 > 0:24:55Chelsea will go out and they will buy players. We are moments away. In

0:24:55 > 0:25:00Brazil and Argentina, they worried about who they draw or is the

0:25:00 > 0:25:06expectation... Is the expectation, we expect to beat them all?Of

0:25:06 > 0:25:12course they are worried. What they really want is logistics and Brazil

0:25:12 > 0:25:17want Group B.Group B is definitely the most favourable group regarding

0:25:17 > 0:25:20travel. A couple of slots in that group and you will not be travelling

0:25:20 > 0:25:27less than 3,000 miles. As you can see, they are getting ready to bring

0:25:27 > 0:25:33out the various dignitaries in the Kremlin. Let's go live to Moscow.

0:25:33 > 0:25:41There is Gordon Banks. Good afternoon to Jonathan Pearce. Gordon

0:25:41 > 0:25:48Banks takes to the stage here in the Kremlin. So much history, and he

0:25:48 > 0:25:53provided us with some of our great historic moments, Gordon Banks, in

0:25:53 > 0:26:001966. And how about this man? Nikita Simonyan has an 81, first Vice

0:26:00 > 0:26:05President of the Russian football federation, he scored against

0:26:05 > 0:26:10England in the World Cup in 1958. Martinez, manager of Belgium,

0:26:10 > 0:26:15looking on. Helpers for the draw, they will take the balls out of the

0:26:15 > 0:26:23globes. This is Diego Forlan, representing Uruguay, the winners

0:26:23 > 0:26:31twice. Winner of the Golden Ball in 2010. The very soul of Argentina in

0:26:31 > 0:26:401986. The one and only Diego Forlan -- Diego Maradona. With a lady that

0:26:40 > 0:26:48looks like she has come from Narnia! That is Gareth Southgate looking on.

0:26:48 > 0:26:51The greatest player ever, arguably, do you remember him for the second

0:26:51 > 0:26:55goal against England? And failing the drugs test and being sent home

0:26:55 > 0:27:01in the World Cup in 1984. How about this man? Laurent Blanc, winner in

0:27:01 > 0:27:061998, scored the first ever Golden Goal in World Cup finals, against

0:27:06 > 0:27:16Paraguay, he missed the final. This man never stops smiling, and why

0:27:16 > 0:27:23not? World Cup winner in 1994 and 2002, the only man to play three

0:27:23 > 0:27:27consecutive World Cups. Didier Deschamps looking on, manager of

0:27:27 > 0:27:37France. Carles Puyol as the next man World Cup winner in 2010 and he was

0:27:37 > 0:27:42told at the 19 by Louis Van Gaal to get his hair cut. Your beastly

0:27:42 > 0:27:51refused! -- he obviously refused. This is one of my heroes at what a

0:27:51 > 0:27:56player he was, World Cup winner of the year in 26 /2006 after

0:27:56 > 0:28:07captaining Italy to victory. They named him the Berlin Wall. I met him

0:28:07 > 0:28:10on a beach in Brazil and I asked him boys autograph, I have never done

0:28:10 > 0:28:19that before. Now we need the host. We will carry on in a minute. It

0:28:19 > 0:28:23will be Gary and with him will be the Russian journalist Maria

0:28:23 > 0:28:35Komandnaya. This is Gary. He did really well in rehearsal all week,

0:28:35 > 0:28:41he has been working really hard here.

0:28:41 > 0:28:54Good evening, Gary.Asking Maria a question now. If she is about to

0:28:54 > 0:29:01help make the draw. A very key moment, obviously. A great deal of

0:29:01 > 0:29:11responsibility. Are you ready? Yes, I am ready! It is a great honour for

0:29:11 > 0:29:16me to be on the stage with Gary, she says, a momentous occasion. Followed

0:29:16 > 0:29:23by fans all around the world.Gary, you were the top scorer at the 1996

0:29:23 > 0:29:26World Cup, how does that compare to conducting the final draw?I think

0:29:26 > 0:29:32it will be very different, football came naturally. I think I prefer to

0:29:32 > 0:29:37take a penalty in the World Cup final and organise this straw! But I

0:29:37 > 0:29:43will do my best.Thank you.We are ready to begin, Gary, over to you.

0:29:43 > 0:29:48Right, let's take a look at how the draw is going to work. We have 32

0:29:48 > 0:29:55teams and they have been divided into four pots, each containing

0:29:55 > 0:30:02eight teams. The allocation teams and pots is based solely on the Fifa

0:30:02 > 0:30:05Coca-Cola world ranking from October 2017, with the highest ranked teams

0:30:05 > 0:30:12and host Russia in Pot 1 and the lowest ranked teams in Pot 4. Let's

0:30:12 > 0:30:19take a look at the pots. Pot 1 contains Russia, Germany, Brazil,

0:30:19 > 0:30:27Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Poland and France. Pot 2, Spain, Peru,

0:30:27 > 0:30:34Switzerland, England, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay and Croatia. Pot 3,

0:30:34 > 0:30:38Denmark, Iceland, Costa Rica, Sweden, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal and

0:30:38 > 0:30:42Islamic Republic of Iran.

0:30:48 > 0:30:55We will draw the Pots one at a time, starting with Pot 1 and ending with

0:30:55 > 0:31:03Pot 4. They will populate the groups alphabetically. The teams in Pot 1

0:31:03 > 0:31:08will occupy the first position in each group. So A1, B1 and C1, and so

0:31:08 > 0:31:13on. Those are the red balls you see in each of the Groups to my right.

0:31:13 > 0:31:18The teams in Pot 2, 3 and 4 will be placed in one of the other three

0:31:18 > 0:31:23positions in the Group were they are drawn. Those positions are drawn

0:31:23 > 0:31:28randomly from the three white balls that you can see in each Group pot.

0:31:28 > 0:31:33The one constraint to keep in mind is that no two teams from the same

0:31:33 > 0:31:37qualifying zone can be drawn in the same Group. The exemptions of course

0:31:37 > 0:31:41are the European teams as there are 14 of them. All Groups will have a

0:31:41 > 0:31:49minimum of one and a maximum of two European teams. That's why you might

0:31:49 > 0:31:52see us skipping through the Groups to make sure that no two teams from

0:31:52 > 0:31:57the same region are drawn in the same Group. Nice and simple! OK

0:31:57 > 0:32:01then, explanation is over. Let's get going with the draw. Maria.Thank

0:32:01 > 0:32:04you, Gary.

0:32:11 > 0:32:16She will start things going. The first team out, we know that A1 will

0:32:16 > 0:32:19be Russia.

0:32:23 > 0:32:26Interesting that Diego Maradona has England's future in his hands!

0:32:26 > 0:32:32Russia. We are so happy to welcome you here for our first World Cup in

0:32:32 > 0:32:39history.There's the coach. Russia will occupy the place of A1. Gordan,

0:32:39 > 0:32:44if you want to take out the red ball to confirm that for us, please. The

0:32:44 > 0:32:49first host winners since France in 98. Won three of their last nine

0:32:49 > 0:32:53games Russia, never got out of the Group as Russia in three attempts.

0:32:55 > 0:33:01We know they will be playing their first game in Moscow. There we go,

0:33:01 > 0:33:07Russia of course will go into the position in A1.

0:33:15 > 0:33:19Kick-off in Luzhniki. In your hands, she is saying, you hold the fate of

0:33:19 > 0:33:28entire nations. Portugal.European champions led by the Fifa Best

0:33:28 > 0:33:31Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo. They will go in the

0:33:31 > 0:33:37position of B1. Take the red ball from B, please, Gordon.Hoping to

0:33:37 > 0:33:43emulate the champions of 2008 Germany. Spain went on to win the

0:33:43 > 0:33:50World Cup having won the European Championship.B1.There you have it.

0:34:14 > 0:34:19take the red ball. They have reached the last two European based World

0:34:19 > 0:34:29Cup finals.

0:34:31 > 0:34:40They will kick-off east of miles. A city that is 1,000 years old. Centre

0:34:40 > 0:34:45in world for 2 for tanks and planes. It was hit by bombardments.

0:34:45 > 0:34:52Argentina.Argentina. Two time World Cup champions led by superstar,

0:34:52 > 0:34:56Lionel Messi.Le he scored the hat-trick in the last game that got

0:34:56 > 0:35:03Argentina through against Ecuador. That would be Group D. The red ball.

0:35:03 > 0:35:08That coach is not to be messed with. They have not failed to clear the

0:35:08 > 0:35:25Group stage in 48 years.D1 for Argentina.Kick-off in Moscow.

0:35:47 > 0:35:51eight in 11 of the last 12 World Cups, Brazil.

0:35:53 > 0:36:01E1 for Brazil. We have only three games left in Pot 1, erm Germany,

0:36:01 > 0:36:10Belgium and Poland.Kick-off in Rostov, will Brazil. No South

0:37:44 > 0:37:50qualifications.They will go into Group H, once again, Carlos.They

0:38:03 > 0:38:13them.

0:38:13 > 0:38:18Pot 2 now. Now.England's Group.

0:47:23 > 0:47:27than they do professional football players, remarkable to make it to

0:47:27 > 0:47:32this first World Cup, good luck to them, in Group D. Let's find out the

0:47:32 > 0:47:38possession -- the position from Diego, please.Smallest population

0:47:38 > 0:47:46ever in a World Cup finals, 330,000. In the last three games to qualify.

0:47:52 > 0:48:03In Moscow, in the Spartak Stadium.

0:48:04 > 0:48:07Costa Rica. Costa Rica, quarterfinalist at the last World

0:48:07 > 0:48:11Cup in Brazil in 2014.They were involved in the group of death and

0:48:11 > 0:48:15they were the surprise winners of that group, I recall. They go into

0:48:15 > 0:48:23Group B, Laurent, please. They did so well four years ago, Uruguay,

0:48:23 > 0:48:28Italy, Greece, a draw with England, fourth appearance in six World Cups,

0:48:28 > 0:48:36for Costa Rica.Be three, Costa Rica. We have only three teams last

0:48:36 > 0:48:42in Pot 3, what team is next wished Mark we cannot get Sweden because of

0:48:42 > 0:48:49two European teams in Group G already. It looks like Tunisia or

0:48:55 > 0:49:01in the play-offs.They go into group alongside Germany and Mexico.

0:49:01 > 0:49:07Laurent, Group F please.First appearance in 12 years, for Sweden,

0:50:07 > 0:50:14their first World Cup in 2002.Yes, they go to Group H with Poland and

0:50:14 > 0:50:29Colombia. Carles, please.H2.The Senegal, opening game against

0:50:29 > 0:50:38Poland. And that concludes all our teams.Watch out for them, they are

0:50:38 > 0:50:40the dock courses.

0:50:46 > 0:50:54A bit more and Tunisia, only won one game in the final a long time ago.

0:50:54 > 0:50:59Beating Russia not beating a European team since May 2,000 six.

0:50:59 > 0:51:05Saudi Arabia can now boast about their fifth World Cup in football

0:51:05 > 0:51:08history.Not only that, Saudi Arabia will be playing against Russia in

0:51:08 > 0:51:16the opening game of the 2018 Fifa World Cup year in Russia, what about

0:51:16 > 0:51:21that, in Moscow? Save the day. And if you could confirm that position,

0:51:21 > 0:51:28Gordon, please.Last win in the World Cup was in June 1994 against

0:51:28 > 0:51:33Belgium, it was some goal, can you remember that? They have appointed a

0:51:33 > 0:51:43new coach this week.Russia, Saudi Arabia...The first group completed.

0:51:43 > 0:51:50He used to be the Chile manager. It is great to have an Italian involved

0:51:50 > 0:51:59in a World Cup!Serbia.Serbia were defeated only once on the road to

0:51:59 > 0:52:05Russia.This is where we have the skip some groups, the first time we

0:52:05 > 0:52:09have got a little bit of complication because we have

0:52:09 > 0:52:13European teams in both Group B, Group C and Group D, two in each, so

0:52:13 > 0:52:19we have to go to Group E. So I will ask Laurent to take out the final

0:52:19 > 0:52:31ball from Group B, please. -- Group E. E four, for Serbia, that group

0:52:31 > 0:52:35involves Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia.Their last game is

0:52:51 > 0:52:55Cup.Yes, they did not concede a single goal in qualification. We now

0:52:55 > 0:53:02go back alphabetically to Group B where Morocco fit, they will be with

0:53:49 > 0:54:01please, Diego?The first game for France, Australia. In Kazan.Austria

0:54:01 > 0:54:10have France, Peru and Denmark.-- Australia.Let's do the honours,

0:54:10 > 0:54:19please, Fabbiano.Panama still in there, first World Cup finals,

0:54:19 > 0:54:28Nigeria. Out they come.Nigeria... And Argentina!Nigeria go into Group

0:54:28 > 0:54:36D. Take your final ball, please, Diego. That will be five Nigeria and

0:54:36 > 0:54:48Argentina games in six World Cup appearances for Nigeria.Japan,

0:54:48 > 0:54:53Panama or Korean Republic, what team will be next? The last game for

0:54:53 > 0:54:58Nigeria is in St Petersburg against Argentina on June 20 six. Good

0:54:58 > 0:55:05groups building up here. Who will England get as the last team.

0:55:05 > 0:55:08Looking forward to seeing them play in the first World Cup in history.

0:55:08 > 0:55:13Good luck to Panama, they go into Group F because Mexico from the

0:55:13 > 0:55:18federation so we skip ahead to one group, Group G, please, Carles.

0:55:18 > 0:55:28There you are! England with Belgium, Tunisia and Panama.Panama's

0:55:28 > 0:55:32first-ever World Cup game will be against Belgium, also in that group,

0:55:32 > 0:55:42Tunisia and England.Ranked 56 in the world now, Panama. Runners-up in

0:55:42 > 0:55:47the USA in 2013. They failed and ten previous qualifying attempts.Korea

0:55:47 > 0:55:53Republic semifinalists in 2002 at home.And back in alphabetical order

0:55:53 > 0:55:59to Group F, Laurent, please.Again, Republic of South Korea, ninth World

0:55:59 > 0:56:04Cup finals in a row. They went out in the group stage in seven of their

0:56:04 > 0:56:10nine. With Sweden, Mexico and Germany. A tough last game for them

0:56:10 > 0:56:18against Germany. The last group is Senegal, Colombia and Japan, and

0:56:18 > 0:56:25Germany.Japan, their sixth consecutive World Cup finals.

0:56:25 > 0:56:32England play Tunisia in Volgograd on the 18th, that is a Sunday, and they

0:56:32 > 0:56:36play Panama in Nizhny Novgorod whether used to make submarines!

0:56:36 > 0:56:43Whisper it quietly. And they end up with Belgium in Kalingrad.

0:56:43 > 0:56:48That ends the draw for the fever World Cup in Russia. Before we move

0:56:48 > 0:56:53on, let's remind ourselves of the groups again, starting with the host

0:56:53 > 0:56:59nations group, Group A, Russia, and opening game against Saudi Arabia,

0:56:59 > 0:57:04also Egypt and Uruguay.Portugal, Spain, Morocco and Iran in Group B.

0:57:26 > 0:57:32Gary, what group seems to be the toughest?I think there are a lot of

0:57:32 > 0:57:35tough groups in the naturally, but the one that stands out looks to be

0:57:35 > 0:57:41Group B with Portugal and Spain, near neighbours, Rocco, very strong

0:57:41 > 0:57:45in qualification and Islamic Republic of Iran. That looks to be a

0:57:45 > 0:57:57difficult group. The opinion of our star players here today. Diego. He

0:57:57 > 0:58:03just asked him what he thinks of the group with Argentina. Diego thinks

0:58:03 > 0:58:10it is a feasible challenge. Because of the type of teams, because

0:58:10 > 0:58:14Argentina will have to step up their game, they were very overreliant on

0:58:14 > 0:58:24Messi. He is asking what he thinks of the Spain and Portugal group,

0:58:24 > 0:58:32that should be very important. And the European champions Portugal, a

0:58:32 > 0:58:37difficult game for Spain, a good start.Can I thank Mark our

0:58:37 > 0:58:43assistants who have done such a great job and nobody dropped a ball!

0:58:43 > 0:58:47Well played, thank you very much indeed. And to wish your

0:58:47 > 0:58:50representatives of the various teams that will play next summer, we just

0:58:50 > 0:58:56want to wish you all the very best, good luck and thank you.Thank you,

0:58:56 > 0:59:01Gary! Well done, Gary. A great draw and I

0:59:01 > 0:59:04hope you enjoyed it at home, it looks like a very good draw for

0:59:04 > 0:59:10England and we could play Poland, Senegal, Colombia or Japan. It is a

0:59:10 > 0:59:16decent draw. Back to you, Mark. Thank you very much. A decent draw,

0:59:16 > 0:59:24says Jonathan. We will see the thoughts of everybody in the studio.

0:59:24 > 0:59:29Belgium, Panama and Tunisia. England will begin in Volgograd and Jimmy

0:59:29 > 0:59:3318th against Tunisia. The middle game will be a week later against

0:59:33 > 0:59:41Panama. That will be in Nizhny Novgorod. And the final in

0:59:41 > 0:59:47Kalingrad, England against Belgium. Belgium are the group seeds and that

0:59:47 > 0:59:55is on June 28, the final evening of group matches. As you can see, Jose

0:59:55 > 1:00:00Fonte of West Ham and Portugal has joined us and we will get his

1:00:00 > 1:00:04thoughts in a moment.Your thoughts? I don't want to say it is a good

1:00:04 > 1:00:07group or a bad group because I have heard it so many times over the

1:00:07 > 1:00:15years. It brings back memories, that opening game, Tunisia, back in 1998.

1:00:15 > 1:00:20Scoring, winning.

1:00:20 > 1:00:30Great header!Unbelievable. Seems to have made a whole World Cup draw

1:00:30 > 1:00:35about yourself again, remarkable! This wasn't a bad goal.What they do

1:00:35 > 1:00:41have, Paul Scholes with his second one on a hot afternoon in France

1:00:41 > 1:00:46when England beat Tunisia. This Group has Panama, who you said you

1:00:46 > 1:00:49didn't want, difficult to get going. It has the the attraction of

1:00:49 > 1:00:54Belgium. Both sets of player will know each other well?We talked

1:00:54 > 1:00:57earlier about the distance in travel. Physical I read that

1:00:57 > 1:01:03correctly, I think it's six days after our first game. So we have six

1:01:03 > 1:01:07days rest after our first game. If they are worried about travel etc

1:01:07 > 1:01:14that shouldn't be an issue.What about Panama, Tim?First World Cup.

1:01:14 > 1:01:18Lovely presence for a group of players, majority in their mid 30s.

1:01:18 > 1:01:26I can't see them doing what Costa Rica did in Brazil.Let's not go

1:01:26 > 1:01:36there! ?If we want to make it about Alan Shearer, let's do that. Their

1:01:36 > 1:01:39coach is steeped in World Cup experience. Took Ecuador that their

1:01:39 > 1:01:50first World Cup. Assistant coach for Colombia in 90 and 94 and coach of

1:01:50 > 1:01:58Coe lombia in 98 when they couldn't cope with Alan Shearer. He has done

1:01:58 > 1:02:03his homework. That is why we book him. Fascinating group for Portugal.

1:02:03 > 1:02:10What are your feelings on that? Definitely a good Group to watch. As

1:02:10 > 1:02:19I was saying to Alan, we have to play them all. Yeah, very exciting

1:02:19 > 1:02:22first game, Morocco is strong. They have done

1:02:22 > 1:02:24first game, Morocco is strong. They have done well in the qualification

1:02:24 > 1:02:28Iran with Portuguese manager will be interesting as well.Is it good to

1:02:28 > 1:02:31get Spain out of the way first, which is what you will do. The

1:02:31 > 1:02:36fixtures are on the screen. In Sochi on June 15th scientistDefinitely.

1:02:36 > 1:02:41Important game. The first one is always a tricky one, as Alan can

1:02:41 > 1:02:47concur with that. It's always difficult to go into the first game.

1:02:47 > 1:02:53Hopefully, we can present ourselves in a good way and get a good result

1:02:53 > 1:02:56against Spain to give ourselves the best chance in the other

1:02:56 > 1:03:00against Spain to give ourselves the best chance in the other two games.

1:03:00 > 1:03:05What is the Portuguese mentality towards Spain as fans and players.

1:03:05 > 1:03:12You are reigning European Champions. You are the heavy hitters you are

1:03:12 > 1:03:17the seed not the Spanish? Definitely. Big rivalry. It will be

1:03:17 > 1:03:20like a Derby. It will be fascinating, for sure. Everyone will

1:03:20 > 1:03:26be up for it. It's a great game to play in. We look forward to it.Have

1:03:26 > 1:03:29you set targets as a group for this World Cup? Do you talk about that or

1:03:29 > 1:03:39not?Obviously, we are the European champions, we have our ambitions, we

1:03:39 > 1:03:44have to take it game by game, like in the Euros. We are expected to go

1:03:44 > 1:03:48through to the Group stages and we are confident that we can do that,

1:03:48 > 1:03:53but we have to keep our feet on the ground and approach it game by game

1:03:53 > 1:04:01like in the Euros.England against Belgium, back to Group G, the number

1:04:01 > 1:04:06of different attacking weapons at Roberto Martinez' disposal is

1:04:06 > 1:04:11frighten. Hazard, Lukaku, De Bruyne, they all having excellent seasons.

1:04:11 > 1:04:15That will be a very, very Duff game. They have got some top quality

1:04:15 > 1:04:23players in that team.We have been saying it for a while I think now.

1:04:23 > 1:04:28Certainly the last tournament, they should go a distance in the

1:04:28 > 1:04:31tournament because of the number of players that they have at their

1:04:31 > 1:04:36disposal now. That's a tough game. It will be one that we will all look

1:04:36 > 1:04:41forward to.Does it help that so many of them are applying their

1:04:41 > 1:04:45trade in the Premier League? Does though relationships help or hinder,

1:04:45 > 1:04:50do you think, from an England perspective?I don't think it

1:04:50 > 1:04:54matters. You do your homework whether it's Belgium, Panama or

1:04:54 > 1:04:58Tunisia. Gareth in between now and the World Cup will have every bit of

1:04:58 > 1:05:02information about every single player, results, past results, form.

1:05:02 > 1:05:05They will have everything available to them. I don't think that matters.

1:05:05 > 1:05:08Let us find out more about Tunisia.

1:05:16 > 1:05:23We've been joined by John Bennett from the BBC World Service who

1:05:23 > 1:05:28reported from Africa on the qualifying campaign. They were away

1:05:28 > 1:05:34to Congo in a crucial game in an intimidating atmosphere, one of the

1:05:34 > 1:05:38most intimidating at moss fierce in world football. They were 2-0 with

1:05:38 > 1:05:4413 minutes to go they got it back to 2-2. A test of character. It ended

1:05:44 > 1:05:47up being their most important result. They have proved their

1:05:47 > 1:05:51character in qualifying. They had good performances in qualifying.

1:05:51 > 1:05:54Having said that, Gareth Southgate should be relatively pleased to have

1:05:54 > 1:05:59drawn Tunisia in the Group. For me, they are the weakest African team at

1:05:59 > 1:06:04this World Cup. They do have decent players, unlike say Egypt or

1:06:04 > 1:06:15Senegal, they are a team that lacks stars. Their biggest star who played

1:06:15 > 1:06:19for Sunderland. They have a winger who is a good player. He plays in

1:06:19 > 1:06:22Qatar. He has been linked with Arsenal in the past. He played in

1:06:22 > 1:06:26Qatar. Never fulfilled his potential. It's a team without

1:06:26 > 1:06:31stars. Most of them play in doestestic football in Tunisia. Out

1:06:31 > 1:06:36of their last squad, 15 of their 23-man squad played for just three

1:06:36 > 1:06:40teams in the top-flight of Tunisian football. It's a team that lacks

1:06:40 > 1:06:44stars, but a team with a the the of character and a lot of togetherness

1:06:44 > 1:06:48and unity. They will go there and feel they've nothing to lose. They

1:06:48 > 1:06:55will go there feeling they can use their flare players to cause an

1:06:55 > 1:07:01upset. England should be relatively pleased to have drawn Tunisia. They

1:07:01 > 1:07:06are not the strongest. Who would you look out for at the moment. There is

1:07:06 > 1:07:10a caveat, a lot can change by the time we get to June? ?Before the

1:07:10 > 1:07:14draw I was thinking from an English perspective who I would have wanted

1:07:14 > 1:07:20to avoid, the two teams I wanted to avoid in the draw from the English

1:07:20 > 1:07:24perspective were Egypt, because of Mohamed Salah. With him in the team

1:07:24 > 1:07:29they are an excellent team. They are one-dimensional without him. So

1:07:29 > 1:07:32their head coach will be hoping and praying that he doesn't pick up any

1:07:32 > 1:07:37injury during the Premier League season with Liverpool.Nigeria are a

1:07:37 > 1:07:44team to watch as well because they have star players going forward.

1:07:44 > 1:08:00Look out for mock --

1:08:02 > 1:08:08Morocco to cause an upset. They are in their first World Cup since 1998.

1:08:08 > 1:08:15They are in a tough group, aren't they, expect them to possibly cause

1:08:15 > 1:08:26an upset because their coach is Tactically astute. They have nothing

1:08:26 > 1:08:34to lose going to Russia.Thank you very much. Let us look at the cities

1:08:34 > 1:08:36where England are going to

1:08:36 > 1:08:36very much. Let us look at the cities where England are going to political

1:08:36 > 1:08:39their Group matches. The amount of travelling that England will have to

1:08:39 > 1:08:43do. They have come out in G4, you can see there. Tunisia against

1:08:43 > 1:08:54England will be in Volgograd. From their St Peter'sburg base 960 miles.

1:08:54 > 1:09:00Then when they go back to their base they will then go to Nizhny

1:09:00 > 1:09:04Novgorod, that's nearly, just over 50 miles for the game with Panama.

1:09:04 > 1:09:08They will have to fly back. Add that on if you are keeping account of

1:09:08 > 1:09:20this. The final one is Kaliningrad when they take on Belgium. 4,066

1:09:20 > 1:09:26miles in total. Does the travelling matter we had a debate earlier about

1:09:26 > 1:09:29whether travelling matters or not because of the modern player because

1:09:29 > 1:09:32of the

1:09:32 > 1:09:33because of the modern player because of the comfort you travel

1:09:33 > 1:09:37because of the modern player because of the comfort you travel in In my

1:09:37 > 1:09:41opinion is has an affect if you are stuck in a plane for a long time and

1:09:41 > 1:09:45then on the bus.Normally the airport is not close to where your

1:09:45 > 1:09:51base is. You will be in the bus for two or three hours. Russia is a big

1:09:51 > 1:09:57country as well. We expect a lot of travelling. In fact, it does... It

1:09:57 > 1:10:03can affect the physical size of the recovery, in my opinion. After

1:10:03 > 1:10:07England play their first game they have six days to recover from that.

1:10:07 > 1:10:14I don't see that being a major issue with England, no.2,400 for Portugal

1:10:14 > 1:10:19in total. Your base is just outside Moscow. Have you a game in Moscow as

1:10:19 > 1:10:22well. For you as a player, what do you want from a training camp? Do

1:10:22 > 1:10:26you like to be in the thick of things, do you want to be out of the

1:10:26 > 1:10:33way, what do you want?Exactly the same as in France. It was fantastic.

1:10:33 > 1:10:43We were based in the Rugby National Centre, the training ground was

1:10:43 > 1:10:46fantastic, gym incredible, we had swimming pool, recovery systems in

1:10:46 > 1:10:51place. For us, the most important, the players is having that at your

1:10:51 > 1:10:55disposal.Did you have freedom as well? Whatever happens in this World

1:10:55 > 1:11:00Cup we will look for the opposite to happen when we come round to the

1:11:00 > 1:11:05next one, such as the role of the media. It's vital. You spend 50

1:11:05 > 1:11:09days, if you go all the way to the end, you spend 50 days together. Our

1:11:09 > 1:11:13manager I remember clearly our manager in France was very good.

1:11:13 > 1:11:18Every opportunity we had a day off, he would allow us to go into Paris.

1:11:18 > 1:11:23He would allow us to see our family. He would give us the freedom to

1:11:23 > 1:11:29forget a little bit about the stress that we were under. It's very

1:11:29 > 1:11:34important to have some time for yourself and to be with your family.

1:11:34 > 1:11:40Your manager, it seems like he gives you the best facilities. It looked

1:11:40 > 1:11:46like he's slept in the car. He's such a...He's always working. He's

1:11:46 > 1:11:49always thinking about how we can win.If you are always working, Tim,

1:11:49 > 1:11:55you can't afford to pamper yourself, the job first. You sense, don't you,

1:11:55 > 1:11:58Gareth will try and give England a little bit of that freedom if he

1:11:58 > 1:12:04can?A big plus that Gareth has is that he's played in tournaments. I

1:12:04 > 1:12:08think that's a big advantage. He knows what to expect. He's been

1:12:08 > 1:12:11there as a player. I think he understands what is right, what is

1:12:11 > 1:12:15wrong, what a player needs. So he will take that into the management

1:12:15 > 1:12:20side of it, no problem.Do you think Brazil will find this World Cup a

1:12:20 > 1:12:27relief in many ways because of the pressure on them at the last World

1:12:27 > 1:12:32Cup as the hosts to use a cliche a football mad country? There are two

1:12:32 > 1:12:36results - winning or disgrace almost. They will clear up that

1:12:36 > 1:12:37stain on the

1:12:37 > 1:12:40almost. They will clear up that stain on the carpet if they win

1:12:40 > 1:12:47Looking at their draw. Two interesting aspects. One, they will

1:12:47 > 1:12:50- assuming they qualifying, the cross over with Germany's Group. Who

1:12:50 > 1:12:57they start against. The first game against Switzerland. For the forward

1:12:57 > 1:13:05line, for Neymar that's a evocative game. Back to the World under-17 Cup

1:13:05 > 1:13:09in 2009. Brazil against Switzerland is

1:13:09 > 1:13:11in 2009. Brazil against Switzerland is the last Group game Switzerland

1:13:11 > 1:13:16win 1-0. Brazil were looking for a goal. They take Neymar off because

1:13:16 > 1:13:20he's so ineffective. Brazil were eliminated in the Group phase of

1:13:20 > 1:13:26that. I honestly think that Neymar's failure in that tournament, he was

1:13:26 > 1:13:32taken off against Mexico that they also lost, Neymar's failure in that

1:13:32 > 1:13:35tournament delayed his arrival in Europe. It made him realise that

1:13:35 > 1:13:38global football is more difficult than domestic football. That is a

1:13:38 > 1:13:46game that I think had an effect on his career. What a star. At senior

1:13:46 > 1:13:52level, he's been on the losing side in one competitive game. He couldn't

1:13:52 > 1:13:56cope with it. At the end he had attacked the referee. He got a long

1:13:56 > 1:14:00suspension. How Neymar reacts to the pressure is going to be one of the

1:14:00 > 1:14:05great stories of the World Cup. It couldn't be a more evocative start,

1:14:05 > 1:14:10him against Switzerland. He is struggling with the pressure at the

1:14:10 > 1:14:14moment at PSG if you believe some of the stuff you readHe didn't have a

1:14:14 > 1:14:17great game against England. Fabulously talented player. There

1:14:17 > 1:14:23are times they wants to do too much. Time when his game is about drawing

1:14:23 > 1:14:28fouls. The Brazil coach knows that he's got a difficult player to

1:14:28 > 1:14:33handle. A wonderful player. A player who is not a luxury item.

1:14:33 > 1:14:33handle. A wonderful player. A player who is not a luxury item. Help wants

1:14:33 > 1:14:38to train a good player in the group. There's an element of spoilt child

1:14:38 > 1:14:42about imhad. This will be the World Cup that he plays closest to his

1:14:42 > 1:14:48peak probably. The story of Neymar in this tournament will be

1:14:48 > 1:14:53fascinating.Could you play on a player's perceived emotional

1:14:53 > 1:14:59fragility on the field?We are talking about a world-class player,

1:14:59 > 1:15:06Neymar is one of the top five, for sure, in the world. He's getting

1:15:06 > 1:15:16experience. He's now at PSG after being in one of the most clubs under

1:15:16 > 1:15:20pressure. The players at Barcelona are under extreme pressure every

1:15:20 > 1:15:25day. I don't think really that mentally we will take any advantage

1:15:25 > 1:15:27of Neymar. He will be ready and up

1:15:27 > 1:15:30of Neymar. He will be ready and up for it. He's going to be tough to

1:15:30 > 1:15:35play against him, that's for sure.

1:15:35 > 1:15:40There will be certain players who see the tournament as their defining

1:15:40 > 1:15:47career moment which may be, did Diego Maradona go in in 1986

1:15:47 > 1:15:51thinking he needed to win the World Cup to define him as a player?I

1:15:51 > 1:15:57don't know. We say about pressure that we put on our team with

1:15:57 > 1:16:01England, the pressure that Neymar and those guys have to put up with

1:16:01 > 1:16:08is at another level when it comes to what it means to them and that

1:16:08 > 1:16:13country. That was fascinating when we spent time in Brazil to look at

1:16:13 > 1:16:17that and to understand that. With what he has to deal with in his

1:16:17 > 1:16:23life, I think you will enjoy this World Cup.Switzerland, Costa Rica,

1:16:23 > 1:16:29Serbia in the Brazil group at the 2018 World Cup. Alan accuse me of

1:16:29 > 1:16:33being negative before the draw. So take a look at this. This is

1:16:33 > 1:16:38England's route to the final. Why are you sniggering? Make your mind

1:16:38 > 1:16:42up! I am too negative or two positive! We have been here so many

1:16:42 > 1:16:47times!This is based on is predicting the group stage results

1:16:47 > 1:16:53as well. And we have predicted that England will win the group. Just go

1:16:53 > 1:16:59with it, everybody, be positive! That would be Colombia in the

1:16:59 > 1:17:05last... This looks difficult already! Colombia in the last 16.

1:17:05 > 1:17:08Brazil in the quarterfinal, France in the semifinal and Germany in the

1:17:08 > 1:17:13final. But as Jose said, you have got to beat them.Well, that is

1:17:13 > 1:17:18easy, we are going to the World Cup! Simple! If you are not quite as

1:17:18 > 1:17:23confident, we are now going to do it as if England were runners-up in the

1:17:23 > 1:17:30group. And that would then be Poland in the last 16. Germany in the

1:17:30 > 1:17:36quarterfinal, Spain in a semifinal. I apologise! I apologise, I don't

1:17:36 > 1:17:41know who has decided Spain would end up there! Spain in the semifinal and

1:17:41 > 1:17:46Brazil in the final. That is even easier, we're definitely going to

1:17:46 > 1:17:50win the World Cup!I suppose England will be happy, we don't want to get

1:17:50 > 1:17:53too far ahead of ourselves, but the fact the last 16 game, if do get

1:17:53 > 1:18:01through, that would be Poland, Senegal, Colombia, Japan group, can

1:18:01 > 1:18:05you see a positive?Yes, I can see a positive, but I am sure we sat here

1:18:05 > 1:18:11in 2010 with the USA, Slovenia and Algeria and try to put our way

1:18:11 > 1:18:14through the groups as well. I think Gareth were big quietly pleased with

1:18:14 > 1:18:20that, yes.More details now on the Panama.

1:18:20 > 1:18:25Mani Djazmi covered the Asian qualification for the World Service.

1:18:25 > 1:18:30The feeling in the studio is England will be happy to have got Panama.

1:18:30 > 1:18:35Absolutely, and I think Panama will be happy to get England and Belgium.

1:18:35 > 1:18:38Although the familiarity has bred contempt for the England national

1:18:38 > 1:18:44team here, broad, England are still one of the blue ribbon names.

1:18:44 > 1:18:48Imagine being Panama in their first-ever World Cup and they have

1:18:48 > 1:18:53England and the stars of Belgium. This week, their coach Gomes talked

1:18:53 > 1:18:55about maintaining dignity so they are not expecting to go through.

1:18:55 > 1:19:02Just hoping to give a good account of themselves. In the qualifiers,

1:19:02 > 1:19:05they had the oldest team of the teams that had qualified and they

1:19:05 > 1:19:09had been gradually progressing in the last few years. Reaching the

1:19:09 > 1:19:13semifinals of three of the last four goal cups, there are equivalent of

1:19:13 > 1:19:19the Euros. But they qualified in extraordinary fashion. I was going

1:19:19 > 1:19:23to go to their final qualifier at home to Costa Rica, but they lost

1:19:23 > 1:19:28their penultimate game 4-0 to the USA and I thought, USA have to get a

1:19:28 > 1:19:34draw in Trinidad, there is no story. The USA lost and they won with a

1:19:34 > 1:19:39goal in the 87th minute after two years, almost 2.5, of qualifying.

1:19:39 > 1:19:44They clinched a qualifying place, with three minutes to go of their

1:19:44 > 1:19:48entire campaign. So they are there in Russia to have a great time. The

1:19:48 > 1:19:52other thing in that game, am I right in thinking their equaliser did not

1:19:52 > 1:19:59cross the line? No, it was a controversial goal. That does not

1:19:59 > 1:20:03mean they did not deserve to be there, they played 16 games in

1:20:03 > 1:20:09qualifying. To get to the World Cup. Nobody expected it. They did not

1:20:09 > 1:20:16even expected either. But just a point of order in case everybody

1:20:16 > 1:20:20thinks Panama could be the whipping boys. Their coach Gomez was the

1:20:20 > 1:20:25coach of Ecuador who he took the last 16 when they made their World

1:20:25 > 1:20:31Cup debut in 20 -- in 2002, so he knows how to do it, but in that

1:20:31 > 1:20:36group, they will be hoping to score goals, enjoy the games, and not get

1:20:36 > 1:20:43hammered.Trust me, nobody in the studio thinks they will be whipping

1:20:43 > 1:20:48boys, we are too long in the tooth for that! We hope to hear from

1:20:48 > 1:20:53Gareth Southgate shortly, but these are ten memorable matches from the

1:20:53 > 1:21:03last ten World Cups.

1:21:03 > 1:21:06Good play by Gammell, and again! It is 3-1!

1:21:09 > 1:21:18A brilliant individual goal! Good shot! It is turned in, he was there

1:21:18 > 1:21:28again! Unbelievable! 3-2, Italy. Argentina... He has made it 3-2!

1:21:28 > 1:21:32Amazing scenes here!

1:21:36 > 1:21:44Oh, he has scored! One is sent off, the other one is scored, amazing!

1:21:44 > 1:21:53Yes! It is 2-1, Bulgaria! The Germans can't believe it! The

1:21:53 > 1:21:59holders are out of the World Cup. Beautifully pulls down by Dennis

1:21:59 > 1:22:04Bergkamp! Oh, what a goal! Dennis Bergkamp wins it for Holland, that

1:22:04 > 1:22:17was absolutely brilliant! The cross. Oh, yes! And he puts career into the

1:22:17 > 1:22:27quarterfinals. What a story! He has scored and Italy are heading to

1:22:27 > 1:22:34Berlin! What a goal! What a goal! It is a red card, it is blocked on the

1:22:34 > 1:22:37line, does that mean Ghana have a penalty with the last click of the

1:22:37 > 1:22:49game? Oh, he has missed! I cannot believe it! Oh, it's seven! Brazil

1:22:49 > 1:22:55are being humiliated, Humbolt and is taken apart by Germany.

1:22:57 > 1:23:07The Luis Suarez reaction to that yellow card still amuses me, me? I

1:23:07 > 1:23:10did nothing wrong! Argentina have Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria. Yet

1:23:10 > 1:23:17again. They start with Iceland, Croatia is the middle and they end

1:23:17 > 1:23:23with Nigeria in St Petersburg. They have just played Nigeria and their

1:23:23 > 1:23:27defence collapsed against Nigeria in the second half. They were 2-0 up

1:23:27 > 1:23:36and they lost 4-2. What a great start! Argentina against Iceland,

1:23:36 > 1:23:40and Iceland. It will be interesting to see how brave they will be and

1:23:40 > 1:23:45how much they will look to exploit the defensive weaknesses in that

1:23:45 > 1:23:49Argentina side. Argentina getting out of that group, the crossover is

1:23:49 > 1:23:55with the group of France. From that perspective, Brazil's group crosses

1:23:55 > 1:24:00over with Germany, Argentina with France, I think I am with you from

1:24:00 > 1:24:03that perspective on your positivity! Argentina will have concerns about

1:24:03 > 1:24:08that group?Argentina have concerns about their own team at the moment.

1:24:08 > 1:24:13They have a coach who wants to press aggressively in your half of the

1:24:13 > 1:24:16field, he has a midfield that does not press, a back three who are slow

1:24:16 > 1:24:22and who drop very deep and he is playing wingers as wingbacks and

1:24:22 > 1:24:26they have the run 80 metres and defend at the end of it, so that is

1:24:26 > 1:24:29why they collapsed against Nigeria. At the moment, Argentina have enough

1:24:29 > 1:24:33problems sorting out their model of play.Portugal were in the same

1:24:33 > 1:24:38group as Iceland at the Euros. Did you find they were a very defensive

1:24:38 > 1:24:45team?Well, I heard everyone saying we were in an easy group and we

1:24:45 > 1:24:51ended up not winning any of the group stages. So there is no easy

1:24:51 > 1:24:57games, as we all know. Iceland, Croatia, Nigeria will be very, very

1:24:57 > 1:25:02tough. This is a fascinating group, in my opinion, this is a tough

1:25:02 > 1:25:05group. We played against Croatia in the Euros and it was one of the most

1:25:05 > 1:25:10difficult games that we had. We won in the last couple of minutes only,

1:25:10 > 1:25:16in extra time. And Nigeria, with the creative players they have,

1:25:16 > 1:25:23fantastic group.Really good group. Back to Moscow and we can get Gareth

1:25:23 > 1:25:29Southgate's reaction to the draw. He's lively Jonathan Pearce. I will

1:25:29 > 1:25:34take Gareth back to Marseille, France 1998, Tunisia, it was the

1:25:34 > 1:25:37opener, it is the Open net game. That was the first thing that went

1:25:37 > 1:25:42through my mind, fantastic day as a player to play on a brilliant

1:25:42 > 1:25:46occasion, incredible atmosphere, the fans made that day. Nice to relive

1:25:46 > 1:25:50that. What sort of a side are they? We have to find that out now. We

1:25:50 > 1:25:54have not done as much research on the African teams yet, we do not

1:25:54 > 1:25:59have to play them until now. Now is the -- opportunity. It is great to

1:25:59 > 1:26:03know where you are playing until you are playing and now we can focus on

1:26:03 > 1:26:06that.How important is the break, a sizeable break, six days between

1:26:06 > 1:26:13that game and the game against the new boys, Panama?Again, there is a

1:26:13 > 1:26:16bit of travelling and it gives the opportunity may be for injuries if

1:26:16 > 1:26:21you get them, to clear up. You are always grateful for as much

1:26:21 > 1:26:25preparation as possible for any game.It is their first finals,

1:26:25 > 1:26:28people already would be writing them off, people have said Costa Rica

1:26:28 > 1:26:33would not do anything four years ago.We are good at writing teams

1:26:33 > 1:26:38off and getting beaten by them! We have to be prepared for those games.

1:26:38 > 1:26:41It is fantastically exciting to be here for the draw with every other

1:26:41 > 1:26:45coach. A great experience. Really looking forward to getting on with

1:26:45 > 1:26:49it.They're pots tree is very experienced, he has been there with

1:26:49 > 1:26:56two different countries, experience counts at this level? -- their coach

1:26:56 > 1:27:02is very experienced, Hernan Dario Gomez!Great mixing with experienced

1:27:02 > 1:27:06coaches in terms of the World Cup. Roberto, who we played in the last

1:27:06 > 1:27:10game, is in the same position as me. It is nice to have a fresh challenge

1:27:10 > 1:27:14and looking forward to it.That is the final game, all Jim, Kalingrad,

1:27:14 > 1:27:20it will be easier for English fans, not from -- not far from St

1:27:20 > 1:27:23Petersburg where you are based. Travel wise, the way the tournament

1:27:23 > 1:27:27is, you have to be adaptable and you will be on the road, but the

1:27:27 > 1:27:31kick-off times are decent as well. You said you do not know a lot about

1:27:31 > 1:27:34Panama or Tunisia but you know Belgium because you see the players

1:27:34 > 1:27:39every week in the Premier League, they score goals for fun and they do

1:27:39 > 1:27:43not concede either. No, they are an outstanding team and they are ranked

1:27:43 > 1:27:46where they are in the world because of the quality players they have got

1:27:46 > 1:27:50and Roberto has done a fantastic job. That is a top-quality

1:27:50 > 1:27:57opposition.Rate going to prepare for. Do you now plot on and think,

1:27:57 > 1:28:01we could have Poland or Colombia, do you do that? You have to focus on

1:28:01 > 1:28:05the first game and go from there. The objective is to qualify from the

1:28:05 > 1:28:09group, you are never sure how many points you need for that. And there

1:28:09 > 1:28:13will be ups and downs along the way, I am sure, so we have to be prepared

1:28:13 > 1:28:19for those things.Pele was here, they were all here, Maradona, Gary

1:28:19 > 1:28:23on stage, I said, this is the day when people get out of their wall

1:28:23 > 1:28:27charts. Do you still have that little boy in new on a World Cup

1:28:27 > 1:28:31occasion, due still feel that excitement you had as a kid?Through

1:28:31 > 1:28:34the qualifying campaign, it you do not necessarily think about days

1:28:34 > 1:28:39like today where that hits home. That is the beauty of the World Cup.

1:28:39 > 1:28:43You watch the previous finals, the big games, the big players and it

1:28:43 > 1:28:47does take you back to that Bjorn is of football. That is what something

1:28:47 > 1:28:51like today is about, the country knows what is coming and they can

1:28:51 > 1:28:56get excited, we can start preparing and that is why it is so fantastic

1:28:56 > 1:28:59to be involved again.A long time since you stood on the pitch in

1:28:59 > 1:29:04Villa Park and you organise that penalty shoot out before the

1:29:04 > 1:29:07semifinal for the youth team players. For me personally, it has

1:29:07 > 1:29:11been an incredible journey to play in a World Cup was an incredible

1:29:11 > 1:29:15honour, and to lead my country as a manager is beyond that.So really

1:29:15 > 1:29:18looking forward to being able to do it. Good luck, Gareth, thank you

1:29:18 > 1:29:23very much. Gareth Southgate live with Jonathan

1:29:23 > 1:29:27Pearce. His tournament experience we have already mentioned, it will be

1:29:27 > 1:29:34vitally important to the younger players.Hugely important. That is

1:29:34 > 1:29:39one of the big advantages he has asked a manager, he has been in, he

1:29:39 > 1:29:43has been away for six weeks, he knows what it is like, he knows what

1:29:43 > 1:29:48is required, he knows what makes a player tick and what a player

1:29:48 > 1:29:54doesn't want and that will be a big advantage to him.Let's bring in

1:29:54 > 1:29:55another point of view.

1:29:55 > 1:29:57The former England winger Chris Waddle joins us

1:29:57 > 1:29:58from the BBC Sport Centre.

1:29:58 > 1:30:05Do you look at that group and sense a rant in seven months' time? No, it

1:30:05 > 1:30:11could be a rant! I expect England to be if not first, second, Belgium is

1:30:11 > 1:30:15a great team. Great players we know a lot about. But in tournaments

1:30:15 > 1:30:20where they are expected to go on and get to the semifinals minimum, they

1:30:20 > 1:30:24have not done it, this is their tournament now and if they want to

1:30:24 > 1:30:27stamp themselves around the world and say we are a class outfit, they

1:30:27 > 1:30:30have got the players, but they will be under pressure as well. Panama

1:30:30 > 1:30:41and Tunisia, unknown quantities. Very, very eatable.

1:30:41 > 1:30:45Belgium must bring back special memories?Got the goal. Got the

1:30:45 > 1:30:49country going after that result. I think they are a better side than we

1:30:49 > 1:30:52played them, put it that I with a. Listen, we have nothing to lose,

1:30:52 > 1:30:57again. Let's hope we can go there, relax and play.It got everybody

1:30:57 > 1:31:06going. You weren't going - the Group stages in 1990 were dire.Every team

1:31:06 > 1:31:12thought the same. A funny Group, we had Egypt and Ireland and Holland.

1:31:12 > 1:31:16We got through. It I've said, the hardest part of the tournament was

1:31:16 > 1:31:20getting out of the Group. Nobody wants to lose or put a point on the

1:31:20 > 1:31:26board. Don't get beat first game. It becomes tactical. Teams get nervous

1:31:26 > 1:31:31and scared at times. It's trying to settle them down. No disrespect to

1:31:31 > 1:31:37Panama, we had Egypt, we won 1-0, a set-piece Mark Wright scored. No

1:31:37 > 1:31:41easy games. If you are going to do well in a tournament you have to

1:31:41 > 1:31:44beat them two.Is there a Group that excites you the most having looked

1:31:44 > 1:31:49at that draw? Don't know if you have it in front of you. You might have

1:31:49 > 1:31:54to go off memory.Argentina who may not qualify. Going forward, as good

1:31:54 > 1:32:00as anybody in the world. Defensively absolutely shocking. We want to see

1:32:00 > 1:32:03Messi in the tournament as much as possible. The way they shaped up, I

1:32:03 > 1:32:09think Croatia will win that Group. They might miss out. I'm not sure if

1:32:09 > 1:32:14Argentina will get through.Chris, thank you very much. Chris Waddle in

1:32:14 > 1:32:21the BBC Sport Centre. Will we get more reaction from Moscow? We can do

1:32:21 > 1:32:32that no now. Here is the Belgium manager. Roberto Martinez. What a

1:32:32 > 1:32:38draw that is for you having left English shores and meeting in the

1:32:38 > 1:32:43crunch game?It is. Element, as they say, football is a way of living and

1:32:43 > 1:32:51I live almost 21 years in the British game and in England, so it's

1:32:51 > 1:32:55a very special draw, but, as we know, it's the World Cup, it's about

1:32:55 > 1:32:59preparation now. We've got a challenging draw for England and

1:32:59 > 1:33:03Panama. It's a challenging groupses in terms of travelling. The most

1:33:03 > 1:33:07demanding Group in terms of the travelling arrangements. I think we

1:33:07 > 1:33:11are looking forward to what we are going to find. You are a country in

1:33:11 > 1:33:16unbelievable form. Record unbeaten run you are on at the moment. What

1:33:16 > 1:33:19is that down to, we know individual talent, what have you done to give

1:33:19 > 1:33:23them that durability?I think it's fair to say we've got a real

1:33:23 > 1:33:28competitive Group. Our players they are in a good moment of their

1:33:28 > 1:33:33careers, as you know, probably 25 players of Belgium football are now

1:33:33 > 1:33:37in the British game. We are very well-known names for the British

1:33:37 > 1:33:41public. Players with important roles in important teams and players that

1:33:41 > 1:33:46really enjoy coming together and representing their country. I think

1:33:46 > 1:33:51it's a clear basis of enjoying what you do. They are great ambassadors

1:33:51 > 1:33:54for Belgium football. We are are looking forward to the preparation

1:33:54 > 1:33:58now which is key before we start the World Cup.Good luck with it.

1:33:58 > 1:34:02Roberto Martinez with Jonathan Pearce. Are you excited, Portugal

1:34:02 > 1:34:07and Spain?Very excited. I can't wait for the first game. First I

1:34:07 > 1:34:13need to get fit and get selected. What a carrot that is?It's amazing.

1:34:13 > 1:34:22You couldn't hope for a better game. A tougher game against big rivals.

1:34:22 > 1:34:27Let's be up for it.Who will win it? I will tell you definitely on July

1:34:27 > 1:34:4215th!Ah! You have ten seconds. The World Cup is nated Nation United

1:34:42 > 1:34:47Nations for the common man.Who win it?France.Not a bad draw for

1:34:47 > 1:34:52England?Not bad at all.Thank you very much for joining us. Six months

1:34:52 > 1:34:55then until the World Cup starts, and it's live on the BBC. We will see

1:34:55 > 1:34:59you in Russia. Bye bye.

1:35:04 > 1:35:06It's FA Cup round two,
