:00:54. > :00:58.A strike of luck from Norway! Quite Good evening, highlights coming up

:00:58. > :01:04.of this afternoons final between Germany and Norway. England, too,

:01:04. > :01:09.Germany, one in the studio. My guests choose their goal of the

:01:10. > :01:13.tournament later on. Germany in pursuit of a sixth successive

:01:13. > :01:23.title, Norway aiming to become champions of the first time since

:01:23. > :01:31.

:01:31. > :01:40.attended. It has been enjoyed by everybody who has attended. The

:01:40. > :01:49.stadiums have been compact, this is different. This, to the players,

:01:49. > :01:59.will feel huge. The Germany team chose one change from their

:01:59. > :02:02.

:02:02. > :02:12.line-up. Da Mbabi coming in. The names are changing, the results stay

:02:12. > :02:50.

:02:50. > :03:00.the same. And the Norwegian side. not to concede first. Norway are in

:03:00. > :03:10.the red. A repeat of the World Cup final that Norway one kilometre or

:03:10. > :03:39.

:03:39. > :03:49.semifinals. It is off the crossbar! She struggled to get to that one.

:03:49. > :04:25.

:04:26. > :04:35.The defenders were struggling in great run in the end. She was left

:04:36. > :04:36.

:04:36. > :06:08.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 92 seconds

:06:08. > :06:18.by the centre half. Norway have between the centre halves and the

:06:18. > :06:18.

:06:18. > :07:34.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 92 seconds

:07:34. > :07:44.full-back. It got the deflection. high. She pulls away from the

:07:44. > :07:44.

:07:44. > :07:54.defender. It did not fall right for her. Pools away from the defender,

:07:54. > :08:28.

:08:28. > :08:36.technique not as good as we have reaction what a chance it was for Da

:08:36. > :08:46.Mbabi. She just turns her body, great technique. It clips the

:08:46. > :08:46.

:08:46. > :09:43.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 92 seconds

:09:43. > :09:47.corner. A wonderful header. The Dekkerhus went down in an

:09:47. > :09:53.exaggerated fashion. It was instantly signalled. The decision

:09:53. > :10:00.will not be changed. Norway have a chance to take the lead. The referee

:10:00. > :10:05.was adamant. I do not think she caught her. The Germans are not

:10:05. > :10:15.happy with the way she threw herself on the floor. The referee was under

:10:15. > :10:24.

:10:24. > :10:29.no doubt whatsoever. Foot against middle. Enough of her body was in

:10:29. > :10:39.the way to save it. Germany will feel justice is done. She guessed

:10:39. > :10:39.

:10:39. > :12:01.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 92 seconds

:12:01. > :12:11.the wrong way but she lifted her leg from Angerer. They have done well

:12:11. > :12:33.

:12:33. > :12:43.outside the box with the passes. chances to counterattack and they

:12:43. > :12:43.

:12:43. > :13:50.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 92 seconds

:13:50. > :14:00.moved the ball quickly. That is what goal before the break. She saves it.

:14:00. > :14:19.

:14:19. > :14:26.It was fiercely struck. Marit Christensen. And here is Ingvild

:14:26. > :14:32.Stensland. Cathrine Dekkerhus. And that was set up nicely for Caroline

:14:32. > :14:42.Hansen. Tactically, she is very good. And she did very well with

:14:42. > :14:52.this. That was just not low enough. The first opportunity of the second

:14:52. > :15:08.

:15:08. > :15:18.half. Brilliantly done. The midfielder joining her. And she

:15:18. > :15:18.

:15:19. > :15:27.turned it around. That was great skill. She has been great on the

:15:27. > :15:37.right-hand side for Norway. Nadine Angerer! It will be another corner.

:15:37. > :15:55.

:15:55. > :16:04.Mbabi, she is back and she pulled everybody back. Still loads of

:16:04. > :16:14.Norway shirts, here. She was intending to let that run. And she

:16:14. > :16:14.

:16:14. > :16:19.is away with it. Forward, Celia Okoyino da Mbabi. Can she get it

:16:19. > :16:29.across to the right-hand side? She has done just that! And Germany take

:16:29. > :16:30.

:16:30. > :16:36.the lead! Anja Mittag, pretty much first touch of the ball! It went so

:16:36. > :16:41.quickly from one end to the other. Typical counterattack from Germany.

:16:41. > :16:46.Done at left-hand side. Little interchange and she knew exactly

:16:46. > :16:50.what she was going to do. But the ball into the right place and what a

:16:50. > :16:56.great finish. She knew exactly where she had to put that all. Fantastic

:16:56. > :17:06.pass across. And a great finish. Extremely composed finish from an

:17:06. > :17:10.

:17:10. > :17:20.experienced player. The goalkeeper stayed back. Letting it bounce. And

:17:20. > :17:20.

:17:20. > :17:29.very nearly, because was hesitation at the back from Norway. That just

:17:30. > :17:39.caused enough problems that Toril Akerhaugen should never have had.

:17:39. > :17:49.Just enough on that. That was well dealt with by the goalkeeper under

:17:49. > :17:55.

:17:55. > :18:04.starting to ramp up the pressure. Nadine Kessler. And that was Celia

:18:04. > :18:14.Okoyino da Mbabi! Corner again. Great technique. Just into the right

:18:14. > :18:35.

:18:35. > :18:45.different. Out of the box. Here is Anja Mittag. Another one lifted into

:18:45. > :18:49.

:18:49. > :18:59.the right area. And that was Leonie Maier. The left foot. Not a bad

:18:59. > :19:15.

:19:16. > :19:22.And that was a very good ball by Caroline Hansen. Down she goes!

:19:22. > :19:32.Another penalty given! Another chance for Norway from the spot!

:19:32. > :19:32.

:19:32. > :19:42.Caroline Hansen, it was. How much contact was? Definitely, she just

:19:42. > :19:43.

:19:43. > :19:53.got caught. There. Jennifer Cramer. She was not going to dive at that

:19:53. > :19:59.

:19:59. > :20:09.stage. Different take. Solveig Milford owners. Solveig Gulbrandsen.

:20:09. > :20:18.And it was saved again by Nadine Angerer! Germany away. Here is the

:20:18. > :20:23.break... Lena Goessling, kept on running. Could not keep her balance

:20:23. > :20:33.any longer and incredibly, has not got a free kick. And that is a very

:20:33. > :20:47.

:20:47. > :20:57.long time to wait to take a penalty. trophy and they could get to keep

:20:57. > :21:00.

:21:00. > :21:09.it. Norway are not done, yet. Offside! The flag has been raised.

:21:09. > :21:13.And it will not kind. To be fair, it did look offside. It was a great

:21:13. > :21:17.effort. It was obviously going wide. She was nearly on the goal-line when

:21:17. > :21:27.she put it in. That was a great run. It looked like she was going for

:21:27. > :21:32.

:21:32. > :21:42.gold. That was a great decision by the English referee. Get so down the

:21:42. > :21:44.

:21:44. > :21:53.line to Celia Okoyino da Mbabi. -- gets it. And she gets it back!

:21:53. > :22:03.was a great effort. Technically, so strong. It was deflected. It was.

:22:03. > :22:28.

:22:28. > :22:34.Pressure applied by Cathrine just cannot let the ball into the

:22:34. > :22:40.net! And what a chance that was. That was a great ball. She went

:22:40. > :22:50.forward with the keeper. And she did enough to butter. She just could not

:22:50. > :22:58.

:22:58. > :23:03.get full contact on that, but that Mbabi. Just not enough. Leonie

:23:03. > :23:13.Maier. I release impressed with that young White back, who major

:23:13. > :23:34.

:23:34. > :23:39.competitive debut at this And another chance. Nadine Kessler!

:23:39. > :23:44.They cannot say that they have won this, yet! They really expected that

:23:44. > :23:54.to go into the back of the net. right-hand side. It just was not

:23:54. > :24:07.

:24:07. > :24:15.dealt with by Norway. She scoffed fourth minute of injury time. Norway

:24:15. > :24:22.just want one more chance. That was not the right option. She had to

:24:22. > :24:29.read shirts in the middle. That shot was never really on. Just it is

:24:29. > :24:38.decision-making sometimes. Nadine Angerer. She just has to keep this

:24:38. > :24:48.ball for the next 30 seconds. Towards the goal again. Germany free

:24:48. > :25:00.

:25:00. > :25:10.themselves in their flags. Nadine Angerer. Germany, for the European

:25:10. > :25:15.

:25:15. > :25:22.title again. The history makers. The goal from Anja Mittag was enough to

:25:22. > :25:26.win this. That is it, they have won this again. They had a game plan and

:25:26. > :25:32.they stuck to it and put it into play. They did enough and that is

:25:32. > :25:37.what they do, just enough. At times, Norway were the better team but they

:25:37. > :25:47.just did not have enough to get it over the line. We can say this again

:25:47. > :25:59.

:25:59. > :26:07.after the final - Germany just when! what Germany always expect. They

:26:07. > :26:11.just do not know any other way. Silvia Neid. An incredible story.

:26:11. > :26:17.Eight European Championship wins. She has been around for every one of

:26:17. > :26:25.them. Three of them as a player and three as an assistant coach. And to

:26:25. > :26:29.enable as their head coach. -- two in a row. For some players, it is

:26:29. > :26:39.new, and for others, this is just what they do every four years. They

:26:39. > :26:40.

:26:40. > :26:46.become the champions of Europe. All of them, on the top step, ready for

:26:46. > :26:52.their trophy to be lifted. Absolutely right that the player who

:26:52. > :26:57.will lift the trophy is their goalkeeper, Nadine Angerer. She made

:26:58. > :27:07.to penalty saves in their Championship final. The fifth time

:27:08. > :27:16.

:27:16. > :27:21.that she has been a winner. Brilliant scenes. It seems that no

:27:21. > :27:28.German football final ever tire of this. -- football fan will ever

:27:28. > :27:37.tire. In the women's game, but I'll is coming home again. And no team

:27:37. > :27:47.can match this one in Europe. They have won eight out of their last

:27:47. > :27:47.

:27:47. > :27:57.nine. They get to keep it again. Three in a row with this particular

:27:57. > :28:09.

:28:09. > :28:14.trophy. We should hail the football so happy. I think the entire team is

:28:14. > :28:19.so happy at first about, I have to say thank you to Sweden, they

:28:19. > :28:27.organised a fantastic Championship and there was a fantastic audience

:28:27. > :28:29.and we are really impressed. Yes, after the game, we are one for the

:28:29. > :28:37.European Championships and we are really happy. We created a couple of

:28:37. > :28:43.chances. But still, Germany is like a machine and they win. We cannot

:28:43. > :28:49.even do it on this day, when we have two penalty kicks! You must be

:28:49. > :28:57.delighted with your own performance? Those penalties? Yes, I knew first

:28:57. > :29:02.of all that penalty kicks are always 50-50. 80-20! It is easier for the

:29:02. > :29:06.goalkeeper than for the player. Because the goalkeeper can just win.

:29:06. > :29:12.And today, I knew if we got the goal, it would be hard for us to get

:29:12. > :29:18.back into the game. 100%, into one corner. That was a very difficult

:29:18. > :29:21.game to play? It was, but I think we played very well today. And I think

:29:21. > :29:29.we should have beaten Germany today. We have those penalties. And quite

:29:29. > :29:34.good chances as well. It is quite sad. But in a few days, I think we

:29:34. > :29:37.will be satisfied with the silver medal from this jab injured.

:29:37. > :29:41.most fantastic tournament, will organised and we really enjoyed it.

:29:41. > :29:51.And the atmosphere was awesome. My stadium, many spectators. It was

:29:51. > :29:52.

:29:52. > :29:55.great. How would you be so dreading? Dragging a lot! Dancing. Just enjoy.

:29:55. > :30:02.Harder Germany managed to win this when coming into the tournament, you

:30:02. > :30:07.were not the favourites? Not at all. If you see how young we are and

:30:07. > :30:11.inexperienced, but we have a very good team. This team is a present

:30:11. > :30:21.for any coach. They really wanted practice and learn things. They are

:30:21. > :30:25.

:30:25. > :30:31.winners. Regeneration is a winner in Germany. The whole of Europe is

:30:31. > :30:37.absolutely delighted for you. Congratulations. Thanks a lot.

:30:37. > :30:42.done, why did you make of it? Fantastic. They worked as a team

:30:42. > :30:47.defending together and they did really well. The plan was to score

:30:48. > :30:53.early but they never get nervous. They conceded a penalty, a perfect

:30:53. > :31:01.save and they kept on playing and created chances. I really think they

:31:01. > :31:06.deserved to win. Norway were upset, if you tears were shed. They gave it

:31:06. > :31:11.a go. I have been so impressed with Norway and they were fantastic.

:31:11. > :31:17.gave it everything. They could not put the ball in the back of the net.

:31:17. > :31:22.It was so disappointing for them. They created and we expected them to

:31:22. > :31:28.defend deeply but they gave it a go and they went and created chances.

:31:28. > :31:32.It was unfortunate they could not score. Germany scored, only one but

:31:33. > :31:37.six goals in six matches in the tournament. They scored six goals in

:31:37. > :31:43.the final four years ago, 21 goals in the tournament. A different way

:31:43. > :31:47.of doing it. They are a young team compare to that team and they are

:31:47. > :31:52.the attacking force they were. Watching the game, they did not

:31:52. > :31:58.change defence and attacking with pace and power that they have in the

:31:58. > :32:03.past. You see in the quarterfinals they won in each game but they work

:32:03. > :32:07.hard defensively. They still have fair and creativity upfront but

:32:07. > :32:10.defensively they work hard. It is their belief in the system and the

:32:10. > :32:16.way they play. It seems to pass through the generations and the

:32:16. > :32:22.players. The younger players come into the team and they know their

:32:22. > :32:27.job. They fit in so well and are not overawed by the situation. It is a

:32:27. > :32:32.credit to watch. A more experienced player who scored the winning goal

:32:32. > :32:36.with her first touch. Amazing. showed her experience, many players

:32:36. > :32:40.would snatch at the chance but she played in the semifinal, she was

:32:41. > :32:48.probably disappointed not to start but it was a fantastic move, the

:32:48. > :32:54.fact Germany are defending here, she does really well, really composed.

:32:54. > :33:01.The way they move from defence to attack is a quick, to touch play and

:33:01. > :33:06.Da Mbabi what a spot to see Mittag. She is on her own and a lovely

:33:06. > :33:14.finish. I think Norway have defended so well in the tournament when they

:33:14. > :33:19.beat them in the group phase. allowed Christensen and her

:33:19. > :33:23.switching positions in play. Christensen is looking at the ball,

:33:23. > :33:29.power run is a straight line. It is not looking over her shoulder

:33:29. > :33:33.worrying about whether the players will come in at the far post. A

:33:33. > :33:39.catalogue of errors that Norway normally are disciplined and strong

:33:39. > :33:45.in defence but though opened up too much and made poor decisions to

:33:45. > :33:48.allow them in more easily than in the past. One of the reasons the

:33:48. > :33:55.Norwegians were upset because they had two penalties and could not

:33:55. > :34:05.score with either! The consensus was the first one wasn't a penalty. I

:34:05. > :34:05.

:34:05. > :34:15.will not disagree at all. I was screaming, no way! She made the

:34:15. > :34:21.

:34:21. > :34:30.perfect jump, a perfect dive. Thank the penalty in the semifinal and

:34:30. > :34:35.scored. -- Trine Ronning. Angerer adjusts quickly and realises and

:34:35. > :34:41.it's a good save. What about the second penalty?

:34:41. > :34:45.Yes, the first one was not a penalty. But here it is a fantastic

:34:45. > :34:53.run by Hanson. She drives at the defence and makes it so difficult.

:34:53. > :35:01.She gets sandwiched. Just moving in, it gets both of her legs so she

:35:01. > :35:07.could not do anything but go down. Gulbrandsen so experienced, a

:35:07. > :35:10.fantastic save from Angerer again. She hits it, the only issue for me

:35:10. > :35:16.was the fact she opens up her body and made it easier for Angerer to

:35:16. > :35:22.read which way she would go. should they have had a third

:35:22. > :35:26.penalty? Should they? We looked at it again and thought yes. So many

:35:26. > :35:31.people, even the players, Gulbrandsen worrying about the fact

:35:31. > :35:36.she has missed but she tries to make amends and gets to the ball first

:35:36. > :35:40.and get the touch. She dives in and any other stage of play in the game

:35:40. > :35:47.and the referee would have given it as a penalty but because it was so

:35:47. > :35:53.close after the penalty in itself, no one really appeals. We were

:35:53. > :35:57.surprised at that but from here we said penalty. They did, they thought

:35:57. > :36:02.they equalised, the ball in the back of the net at the English official

:36:02. > :36:11.was correct in her decision. What a fantastic decision. It was lovely

:36:11. > :36:20.play. Meyer has been aptly brilliant going forward. You can see she was

:36:20. > :36:28.offside. You were relieved when you saw that. Possibly you thought it

:36:28. > :36:32.was an equaliser but we have found a new star. Tell us about Meyer. She

:36:32. > :36:39.was one of the young players to stand up and take the chance. She

:36:40. > :36:42.had a fantastic tournament, the first time for her to play in a

:36:42. > :36:52.tournament and she did fantastic. She is young but reads the game

:36:52. > :36:57.well. She analyses, she drops in a little bit to cover and with Angerer

:36:57. > :37:01.she save this which could have been a really good goal. It is fantastic

:37:01. > :37:07.to see her. She is not nervous at all. She plays the game and is only

:37:07. > :37:12.20. She plays as if she has been playing for ten years. It is

:37:12. > :37:18.fantastic to see the future of German football. It is great fun to

:37:18. > :37:22.watch the new generation play. She was such a tenacious player and

:37:22. > :37:25.belief in her own ability going forward.

:37:25. > :37:30.She was demanding and wanting the ball to make a move happen but

:37:30. > :37:34.defensively switched on and great positioning. How delighted with the

:37:34. > :37:40.rest of Europe be to see the young Germans coming through?

:37:40. > :37:46.Maybe not so delighted! For Germany, it is fantastic to see them

:37:46. > :37:48.at the rest of us, we think, not more great place for Germany! Is

:37:48. > :37:55.there a production line, are more coming through because we only saw a

:37:55. > :38:02.fume cos of injuries. It will never stop. We really have a great deal to

:38:02. > :38:08.be proud of. Germany and in 19, we get the national players into the

:38:08. > :38:13.coaching system so they come with experience and sorry, to disappoint

:38:13. > :38:20.you, it keep coming! Do not apologise, we are pleased for you!

:38:20. > :38:30.The scoreline means 56 goals were scored in 25 matches at Euro 2013.

:38:30. > :38:37.

:38:37. > :38:47.We sifted through them to select six 2-0 France. Quite brilliantly

:38:47. > :39:17.

:39:17. > :39:21.That, without question, is the best team goal we have seen so far in the

:39:21. > :39:31.European Championships. The full-back was there to finish

:39:31. > :39:56.

:39:56. > :40:06.brilliant goal for Norway. What a with her first international goal.

:40:06. > :40:11.

:40:11. > :40:21.She finished that very coolly and Norway. Hegerberg! I say. What a

:40:21. > :40:22.

:40:22. > :40:29.hit. Write out of the top drawer from the 18-year-old. Some decent

:40:29. > :40:34.goal to choose from. We have nominated white as our captain. No

:40:34. > :40:40.choice. Step forward if you will and tell us who you think is the best

:40:40. > :40:45.goal-scorer? There were so many great ones, Hegerberg, 18 years old

:40:45. > :40:53.to take the chance so confidently was superb but as it was a 2-1

:40:53. > :40:59.decision and it is Denmark. starts off well, she did it for many

:40:59. > :41:08.games, great team goal and as a left back finishing and starting the move

:41:09. > :41:18.passing it around the Italian defence, we went to-1. I never agree

:41:18. > :41:28.with Sue. In terms of the best player of the tournament? Deftly

:41:28. > :41:28.

:41:28. > :41:34.Sweden. She had a tough game, and she missed a penalty but she

:41:34. > :41:39.scored. She had a lot of pressure and expectation. You can see the

:41:39. > :41:42.smile on her face and a relief. I think she did really well in the

:41:42. > :41:46.tournament. Thank God the goal she scored against Germany in the

:41:46. > :41:52.semifinal wasn't given otherwise it could have been different. She

:41:52. > :41:59.performed well. Very much in the minority about wanting the goal to

:42:00. > :42:04.be ruled out! She was fantastic and she had deferred injury throughout

:42:04. > :42:09.so she properly wanted to play more. She is a player that is so difficult

:42:09. > :42:14.to pick up. She finds space. We don't want to see that again because

:42:14. > :42:19.it is against England but that is what she can do, she can create

:42:19. > :42:23.chances and score. It is difficult for defenders to play against

:42:23. > :42:33.players like that. You are always complaining about various things but

:42:33. > :42:36.

:42:36. > :42:40.one of them is the lack of credit to defensive players. To only concede

:42:40. > :42:46.one goal, that is down to defence. Angerer stood out, player of the

:42:46. > :42:52.match and rightly so. Two massive saves. She has done it over many

:42:52. > :42:56.years already and last time in 2009 was important in the team as well.

:42:57. > :43:00.And this is the second save. She stood firm and big and you need big

:43:00. > :43:04.players in big games to stand up and do their job and she did it without

:43:04. > :43:10.question. What have you made of the goalkeeping in general as it does

:43:10. > :43:16.get a bad press and quite rightly. But not in this tournament. It was a

:43:16. > :43:22.great performance from all of the goalkeepers, Norway did well. I

:43:22. > :43:26.think you can tell some teams are getting good coaches, the club teams

:43:26. > :43:30.are getting better, better education and the level is higher compared to

:43:30. > :43:35.four years ago. You can see the improvement which is really

:43:35. > :43:39.important. The level has increased in the tournament. Has it got

:43:39. > :43:45.another level to go to? So many of the players do not train full-time.

:43:45. > :43:50.Yes, obviously the tournament has better goalkeepers, technically but

:43:50. > :43:53.it can go a step ahead. Players do not train every day, they do fitness

:43:53. > :43:59.training but with a football they do not. If players can train with the

:43:59. > :44:04.club every day technically and tactically they will improve. It is

:44:04. > :44:08.something every nation needs to look at because we are up there and it is

:44:08. > :44:12.improving but we could go a step above from what it is today. Maybe

:44:12. > :44:15.this tournament will attract sponsors because that is what is

:44:15. > :44:20.needed. To enable the players to train more often silly do not have

:44:20. > :44:26.to work. Yes, if you look at the TV audiences, the people who have

:44:26. > :44:30.turned up to watch and the Olympics in England last year, it was well

:44:31. > :44:33.received. It shows the games are going in the right direction and

:44:33. > :44:38.there are good role models female role models playing the game who

:44:38. > :44:44.treat themselves right off it and young and good adverts for young

:44:44. > :44:48.girls to aspire to. Surely there are companies and in Germany you put a

:44:48. > :44:52.lot of the companies are local to the teams invest heavily in the

:44:52. > :45:01.local club and in Sweden it happens to allow them to attract the best

:45:01. > :45:08.players. Local clubs will alight the money to go into those clubs analyse

:45:08. > :45:11.sponsors to get Byers like that. it so that what players can train

:45:11. > :45:19.every day. And really their technical ability. It goes higher

:45:19. > :45:24.every year. -- race. Four years after reaching the final, England

:45:24. > :45:28.fell at the group stage, their record of one point from three games

:45:28. > :45:38.meant they left Sweden with their worst record of any team in the

:45:38. > :45:53.

:45:53. > :46:00.again! Right at the very end. And it is in! England caught out again! All

:46:00. > :46:10.over the place at the back. England in real trouble. England have

:46:10. > :46:11.

:46:11. > :46:21.scored! Toni Duggan has put it into the corner. A little bit of hope.

:46:21. > :46:28.

:46:28. > :46:36.Clean through the middle. 2-0. It is all over now. No way back. We had

:46:36. > :46:40.high expectations and at the end of the day, we just did not perform.

:46:40. > :46:45.From a neutral perspective, what did you think? She just said that they

:46:45. > :46:49.did not perform and you have to analyse this after the tournament

:46:49. > :46:52.and it is not only that you lose and did not get out of the group stage

:46:52. > :46:57.but the way that England was playing, it was not the way that

:46:57. > :46:59.they could play and you must ask, are their younger players on the

:46:59. > :47:04.bench that they could have brought in earlier who could have made a

:47:04. > :47:11.difference, some news spread, like we have seen with Germany. So many

:47:11. > :47:16.young players. They are so hungry. If anything, it is time for England

:47:16. > :47:23.to put layers on the field and some new energy. England has a lot of

:47:23. > :47:29.work to do. Who are those young players to come through? We saw Toni

:47:29. > :47:35.Duggan, she made an impact. wanted to do something and wanted to

:47:35. > :47:41.achieve something because she was on the bench. This was such an awkward

:47:41. > :47:45.time for that goal and we needed to equalise. And actually, she created

:47:45. > :47:49.lots of chances. And there are other players like Jordan Nobbs, Lucy

:47:49. > :47:53.Bronze, young players in the squad that we would have liked to have

:47:53. > :47:58.seen a little bit more. Hopefully at the qualifiers, we should see more

:47:58. > :48:04.of them. Is it important that England go on to qualify in Canada?

:48:04. > :48:08.It is, we have to keep developing and this is just a major blood.

:48:08. > :48:12.Canada, they did not get out of their group in the World Cup and

:48:12. > :48:20.then got Olympic bronze. I think sometimes defeat can be turned into

:48:20. > :48:25.a positive thing. Those players will be hurting. If I was those players,

:48:25. > :48:29.I would be. Add a tournament where they can expect so much from

:48:29. > :48:35.themselves and not deliver, that feeling will stay with them. But our

:48:35. > :48:39.group, we should be looking to qualify easily and to have an

:48:39. > :48:46.opportunity to put some young blood in there. And to experiment a little

:48:46. > :48:51.bit but formation and teams. -- with formation. Two months ago -- two

:48:51. > :48:57.months until the first qualifier at Bournemouth. Younger players need to

:48:57. > :49:01.come through. They want to prove a point and they are hungry and we

:49:01. > :49:05.need to see that. We have to put this to bed. We did not perform like

:49:05. > :49:12.we know we can and the players and manager know that and we must forget

:49:12. > :49:15.that and move on. They can prove that. All of the England home games

:49:15. > :49:23.in their World Cup qualifying campaign will be shown live on the

:49:23. > :49:33.BBC, starting with Belarus. We hope to see you there. And another day -

:49:33. > :49:42.the next edition of the football show on Monday the 5th of August, at

:49:42. > :49:45.12:20am. And that will also be on the iPlayer. Tina has been busy,

:49:45. > :49:53.crossing southern Sweden for three weeks, talking to players and fans

:49:53. > :50:03.and even being serenaded by the Sweden manager. 21 days, seven

:50:03. > :50:36.

:50:36. > :50:46.Sweden! Your favourite player? hope so! Do you do the captain?I

:50:46. > :51:02.

:51:02. > :51:12.know her quite well, she is my wife. Iceland have won their first ever!

:51:12. > :51:48.

:51:48. > :51:54.are being overrun. No way back. England, on their way home after

:51:54. > :52:04.just three group games. My face paint has nearly come. Dismal night.

:52:04. > :52:15.

:52:15. > :52:24.The dream is over. This is going to be very noisy! The headline today is

:52:24. > :52:34.thank you! It will be no way to face Germany in Scott -- in Stockholm on

:52:34. > :52:39.

:52:39. > :52:44.Sunday. -- Norway who will face to many. -- Germany. We should all hail

:52:44. > :52:53.the football queens of Europe. It is their trippy - Germany! We have all

:52:53. > :52:56.enjoyed that. What has stood out? Sweden, evidently, at some very high

:52:56. > :53:00.standards the way that the organised this tournament and the spectators

:53:00. > :53:06.have been incredible. All of the other times when we talk about good

:53:06. > :53:11.players, you can take about three but this time we discussed 11. The

:53:11. > :53:19.team effort has been so much bigger. Not just one players standing out.

:53:19. > :53:27.But the entire team, which is the difference. Normally, one of those

:53:27. > :53:33.teams are Norway. It was such a team effort? It was really hard to pick

:53:33. > :53:36.only one player and then you have to pick another. And then it is just

:53:36. > :53:43.really coming back to great team performance, which is what it should

:53:43. > :53:46.be. What do you remember? I think the crowds and the television

:53:46. > :53:56.audiences and all the collar and atmosphere around the stadiums.

:53:56. > :53:57.

:53:57. > :54:03.all of those fans, but in the matches, penalties have dominated.

:54:03. > :54:09.Not just final deciders but during gameplay. More during open play that

:54:09. > :54:14.I can remember. But generally, it was just teams like Iceland getting

:54:14. > :54:18.to the court finals and the team ethic and working for the whole

:54:18. > :54:24.team, that has been really impressive for some of the smaller

:54:24. > :54:30.teams. Sweden have done so well. newspapers, yellow and blue

:54:30. > :54:35.everywhere. It has been absolutely fantastic way that they have got

:54:35. > :54:39.those fans into stadiums and their standard of play has been amazing

:54:39. > :54:43.and his players have just stood up and the small teams that we don't

:54:43. > :54:47.expect to do well, they performed well and they got to the

:54:47. > :54:51.quarterfinals and semifinals and it shows that smaller teams are getting

:54:51. > :54:56.closer to Germany and other teams that you would expect to win.

:54:56. > :55:03.done to Germany who have won this yet again. That is it from Sweden.

:55:03. > :55:08.From all of us, they have been wonderful hosts in Sweden. England

:55:08. > :55:12.were disappointing, but they will be back. Iceland surprised us and the
