:00:51. > :00:56.Hello. With just under a month to go now in the Premier League season,

:00:57. > :01:26.nothing's been decided, and we have six games of great significance.

:01:27. > :01:37.Robbie Fowler and Paul Ince are here to appraise

:01:38. > :01:37.Robbie Fowler and Paul Ince are here ahead of all of today's games up and

:01:38. > :01:42.down the country, ahead of all of today's games up and

:01:43. > :02:51.Liverpool fans who lost their lives at Hillsborough on that

:02:52. > :02:58.An appropriate silence ahead of the 25th anniversary itself on Tuesday.

:02:59. > :03:02.To the action, and a meeting between the teams who were third and fourth

:03:03. > :03:05.from bottom at kick-off. Fulham were five points behind Norwich and

:03:06. > :03:08.safety, but looking to cut that to two, with the Canaries facing a

:03:09. > :03:10.fearsome run-in and having sacked their manager this week. John Roder

:03:11. > :03:26.was at Craven Cottage. Neal Adams takes charge of Norwich

:03:27. > :03:31.for the first time. It is going to be a tense afternoon at Craven

:03:32. > :03:37.Cottage, with five huge matches remaining for both of these sites.

:03:38. > :03:42.Hugo Rodallega scored a late winner last weekend and he starts today in

:03:43. > :03:48.the only change. Scott Parker is on the bench, having missed five games

:03:49. > :03:57.with a knee injury. Manager Adams makes six changes in total, all of

:03:58. > :04:02.them tactical. Michael Turner is playing for the first time since New

:04:03. > :04:09.Year's Day. Norwich City, who have lost their last six away matches, up

:04:10. > :04:15.against a full side who have taken only 13 points at Craven Cottage

:04:16. > :04:22.this season. -- a Fulham side. That was David Stockdale in the Fulham

:04:23. > :04:28.goal, and he saw it all the way. Six minutes played this afternoon, and

:04:29. > :04:32.that means it is exactly 20 hours of Premier League football since Ricky

:04:33. > :04:37.van Wolfswinkel scored in the Premier League, back on the opening

:04:38. > :04:45.day of the season. And boy, do they need a goal from him to day? Fulham

:04:46. > :04:50.have lost five of their last six here at Craven Cottage, conceding at

:04:51. > :04:57.least two goals in all five of those matches. That was Fulham's best

:04:58. > :05:02.chance of the match so far. It all stemmed from the long ball forward.

:05:03. > :05:08.It was an awkward angle for Rodallega, but he struck it cleanly.

:05:09. > :05:12.Fulham, given real hope of avoiding the drop by their victory at Aston

:05:13. > :05:19.Villa last weekend. Felix Magath has called for the same sort of spirit

:05:20. > :05:25.from his side this afternoon. Rodallega! He thumps the ground in

:05:26. > :05:32.frustration, the Colombian striker. This was a terrific chance for

:05:33. > :05:48.Fulham. Look how he hits the ground, really annoyed with himself.

:05:49. > :06:01.The referee could not have been much closer to the action. Driven across,

:06:02. > :06:08.and that is a wonderful save from Stockdale. What a reaction to keep

:06:09. > :06:15.it at 0-0. Ricky van Wolfswinkel, so close to breaking his goal drought.

:06:16. > :06:20.Olsson hit it hard, and all van Wolfswinkel dude was diverted

:06:21. > :06:31.towards run, but that was an outstanding save. A tremendous spell

:06:32. > :06:38.for Norwich City, but equally brilliant from David Stockdale. A

:06:39. > :06:49.wonder. Full perhaps Johnson will feel he should have done better from

:06:50. > :06:54.the rebound. That is it is the Norwich City fans who are making the

:06:55. > :07:03.noise after that. Nathan Redmond, still going, such persistence. Here

:07:04. > :07:14.goes again. Sidwell, caught in possession. Leroy Fer. That is a

:07:15. > :07:20.free kick, Heitinga diving in. Snodgrass, off the bar! Norwich, so

:07:21. > :07:32.close again to breaking the deadlock. Over the wall, and it

:07:33. > :07:36.smashes against the crossbar. That is three terrific opportunities

:07:37. > :07:41.Norwich have had. It is all rather quiet around Craven Cottage. You can

:07:42. > :07:45.feel the tension, the apprehension, emanating from both sets of

:07:46. > :07:53.supporters. That is going to be a yellow card for Steven Whittaker.

:07:54. > :08:03.Norwich have brought everybody back to try and keep this free kick at

:08:04. > :08:08.bay. Holtby takes it. Rodallega! Hugo Rodallega scores for the second

:08:09. > :08:16.week in succession! What a huge goal that could be. Overwhelming relief

:08:17. > :08:17.amongst the home supporters, as they get the first goal of the

:08:18. > :08:37.afternoon. Richardson takes it. Rodallega! Good

:08:38. > :09:19.job Norwich had a man on the line. Martin Olsson, that is a terrific

:09:20. > :09:27.run. Snodgrass! Just wide. Brilliant defending, as Fulham players threw

:09:28. > :09:31.themselves towards the ball. It was a wonderful ball over the top. How

:09:32. > :09:47.close was Robert Snodgrass to getting an equaliser here?

:09:48. > :10:01.What is he thinking now? How can he change things around?

:10:02. > :10:16.That is a corner. It got a touch off the defender.

:10:17. > :10:25.Fulham have everybody back inside their own penalty area. Headed wide

:10:26. > :10:32.by Rodallega! The man who put Fulham in front now preserves their lead.

:10:33. > :10:45.It was Michael Turner with the firm header from the corner.

:10:46. > :11:08.Fulham fans celebrating, they are convinced that the great escape

:11:09. > :11:22.might be on again for Fulham. Last few seconds. Rodallega. Can he

:11:23. > :11:26.finished it? No, he can't. That would have sealed victory for

:11:27. > :11:32.Fulham. The chance came to Ashkan Dejagah. But it does not matter. The

:11:33. > :11:37.full-time whistle has been blown. Back-to-back victories for Fulham

:11:38. > :11:44.and Felix Magath. Hugo Rodallega with the all-important van this

:11:45. > :11:51.afternoon. Fulham are just two points behind Norwich, both with

:11:52. > :11:56.four games remaining. And given the remaining games for Norwich, it is

:11:57. > :12:05.Fulham who will be ending today far more optimistic.

:12:06. > :12:12.We have two win every game. It is five finals for us. We have two win

:12:13. > :12:19.everyone. Anything is possible. The 'keeper has made an unbelievable

:12:20. > :12:24.save from van Wolfswinkel. We have had other good chances as well. That

:12:25. > :12:28.is what it is about. That is the only area where we have fallen short

:12:29. > :12:32.today. Obviously it is a big area because that is what wins games.

:12:33. > :12:39.Everybody has been aware of Norwich's final four fixtures. Yes,

:12:40. > :12:43.people have written us off already. They are tough games, we know that.

:12:44. > :12:46.But we will do everything we can this week in training to get

:12:47. > :12:52.ourselves right for the next game, which is Liverpool. We are in it

:12:53. > :12:56.now, without a shadow of a doubt. We have to pick up points from these

:12:57. > :13:02.four games, we're pretty certain about that. The minimum requirement

:13:03. > :13:05.is what they have delivered today, in terms of their play, their

:13:06. > :13:17.understanding, tactically I thought they were very good. And we have got

:13:18. > :13:21.to start scoring goals, when we are making good chances like that.

:13:22. > :13:28.So, a huge win for Fulham, and afterwards I spoke to their manager,

:13:29. > :13:36.Felix Magath. It was a very dramatic game, and I am very happy about the

:13:37. > :13:41.win. But today, we are satisfied -- we are not satisfied double in what

:13:42. > :13:49.way were you not satisfied with the performance today? Because we are

:13:50. > :13:54.not leading the game, we have to respect that Norwich was the better

:13:55. > :14:01.team, and we were very lucky, we had a very good goalkeeper, who saved us

:14:02. > :14:04.from defeat. I suppose at this stage of the season, the result is so much

:14:05. > :14:11.more important than the performance, it gives you a lifetime? Yes, sure,

:14:12. > :14:19.the result is all. We are happy about the result. Three points, it

:14:20. > :14:28.was the most important thing. Do you think you will stay up? Yes! For

:14:29. > :14:33.sure. I was ever convinced that we would stay in the league, and after

:14:34. > :14:38.two wins, sure, I am convinced. Why do you think you have suddenly

:14:39. > :14:45.managed to start to win games and not concede as many goals, what have

:14:46. > :14:53.you changed? I think the players are now more confident than before, and

:14:54. > :14:59.we are getting used to one another, and so, we stand up and we fight for

:15:00. > :15:05.90 minutes, as today, and that is often enough. . It is such a big

:15:06. > :15:15.friends, being five point ain't the team above you, to just two points?

:15:16. > :15:19.It helps us a lot that we look at the table and we are now near to the

:15:20. > :15:26.light and it helps us in the next few weeks. On paper, you have a

:15:27. > :15:32.better final few games than the side you played today. Yes, but we have

:15:33. > :15:38.to be careful with the games, it is always difficult to win, as we saw

:15:39. > :15:43.today, and so we have four games left and we have to try and win the

:15:44. > :15:48.next game at Tottenham. When you did and thank you very much for talking

:15:49. > :15:52.to us, we wish you good luck for the rest of the season. Thank you, all

:15:53. > :15:55.the best you. Felix Magath very honest and frank

:15:56. > :16:00.about his team's performance, he wasn't entirely satisfied, but I

:16:01. > :16:05.thought it would be happy with the result, that is the fundamental

:16:06. > :16:08.thing. He has said it was not a great performance but where they

:16:09. > :16:14.are, it was a must win game for them. They have got the win, which

:16:15. > :16:20.is better than any performance. With the new manager in charge,

:16:21. > :16:23.Fulham... Sorry, Norwich got off to a flying start and had lots of

:16:24. > :16:30.chances but couldn't capitalise on it. They started very well, three

:16:31. > :16:37.very good chances in the first half. Martin also on which this ball in

:16:38. > :16:41.and he is very unlucky. It is as good a save as I have seen in the

:16:42. > :16:45.Premier League. This save the game, reaction. It comes back out to

:16:46. > :16:51.Bradley Johnson and he really should score. You see it from this angle.

:16:52. > :16:54.Left foot, eight yards out, he should be doing better. And this

:16:55. > :17:00.one, the goalkeeper is unsighted and a few inches lower... Neil Adams,

:17:01. > :17:08.welcome to the Premier League, you see his frustration straightaway.

:17:09. > :17:12.This is the full goal. -- the Fulham goal. Does he need to add there? I

:17:13. > :17:21.don't think so, maybe bring the defenders up. There are eight

:17:22. > :17:27.defenders there, 4 Fulham players attacking it. Steve Sidwell steal a

:17:28. > :17:31.march on them, runs near post. Rodallega finds a little bit of

:17:32. > :17:36.space because Michael Turner is caught ball watching and follows the

:17:37. > :17:41.ball, so it was a great goal from a Fulham perspective, but defensive

:17:42. > :17:45.wise, not great from Norwich. Considering Fulham's staggeringly

:17:46. > :17:49.poor defensive record this season, they saw out the game remarkably

:17:50. > :17:54.well after they scored the goal. Second half, I was waiting for the

:17:55. > :17:58.onslaught from Norwich. This one, Steven Whittaker, a good little run.

:17:59. > :18:03.Norwich just lacked a little bit of class and pile in the final third.

:18:04. > :18:07.He could have got in there. But they have so many men behind the ball,

:18:08. > :18:10.Norwich found it hard to break them down and when they win the ball,

:18:11. > :18:15.they go on a counter attack. We highlighted Whitaker before, the

:18:16. > :18:21.Fulham players are solid and compact, but they are all the little

:18:22. > :18:30.bit too tight for me. Robert Snodgrass is quite clever, he does

:18:31. > :18:35.make a run, but on the other side, Olsen makes a run, great touch.

:18:36. > :18:40.Snodgrass looks favourite to score but look at the defending from

:18:41. > :18:45.Hangeland. It is a fantastic tackle and that is why they didn't concede

:18:46. > :18:49.a goal. Again, look how many Fulham players are in the box. Scott Parker

:18:50. > :18:53.the first to close them. Nine players plus the goalkeeper in the

:18:54. > :18:57.defensive third. So Norwich found it very difficult to break them down

:18:58. > :19:03.and that is why they won the game. A lot of talk about Norwich, we have

:19:04. > :19:09.talked about it for a long time, their run in. It is a tough one. And

:19:10. > :19:12.Fulham, just two points behind them, you would say they have more

:19:13. > :19:17.chance of getting points than Norwich. When you look at the

:19:18. > :19:20.fixtures come at you fancy Fulham to get out of trouble, but at this

:19:21. > :19:24.stage of the season, Liverpool are not going to want to go to Norwich,

:19:25. > :19:28.they don't want to play teams fighting to stay in the league. All

:19:29. > :19:32.of the games they have got, I think they are games that Norwich will

:19:33. > :19:37.want to play, because there is no pressure, as Neil Adams said,

:19:38. > :19:42.Norwich whatsoever. What do we think of the Chris Hughton dismissal?

:19:43. > :19:47.Particularly the timing of it? Very unusual. The timing is not great but

:19:48. > :19:50.if you look at Neil Adams' record in the youth teams... There is a big

:19:51. > :19:54.difference between youth team football and the Premier League. I'm

:19:55. > :20:03.not saying there isn't, but the timing was strange. I just think

:20:04. > :20:06.five games to go, David McNally has said he fired him on as last two

:20:07. > :20:11.performances which I don't understand. A new manager comes in,

:20:12. > :20:19.the players have to get used to the new manager with he has worked with

:20:20. > :20:25.them or not -- weather. It is seven away games they haven't won now. It

:20:26. > :20:29.is one more note. Two teams who enjoyed big wins last weekend. West

:20:30. > :20:36.Brom winning a Norwich took them out of danger but Spurs kept alive their

:20:37. > :20:40.lingering hopes of making the top four.

:20:41. > :20:44.It is not about me says Tim Sherwood, despite the rumours

:20:45. > :20:58.circulating White Hart Lane about his future. Lund have scored! But

:20:59. > :21:03.comes across, it is turned in. It is too hard and one, Harry Kane.

:21:04. > :21:09.Christian Eriksen shoots. Harry Kane is into the penalty area. Through

:21:10. > :21:20.the goalkeeper and in. Adebayor. Twisting and turning, and Gylfi

:21:21. > :21:28.Sigurdsson. A handsome win, 5-1. Steve Bauer was at the hawthorns.

:21:29. > :21:31.Despite that victory, the odds appeared to be long for Tim Sherwood

:21:32. > :21:35.to be in charge next season. He is focused on the short term of the

:21:36. > :21:37.five remaining matches and he named an unchanged team for the first time

:21:38. > :21:43.in his period in charge, in which Daniel Sturridge has only scored

:21:44. > :21:48.more goals in the Premier League than Emanuel Adebayor. West Brom are

:21:49. > :21:53.without James Morrison but can recall Captain Chris Brunt after

:21:54. > :21:58.five weeks out with a knee injury. West Brom get us under way in the

:21:59. > :21:59.sunshine, the third worst home record in the Premier League against

:22:00. > :22:18.the third best away one. The last time West Brom squad at

:22:19. > :22:24.home, Amalfitano scored a stunning goal. He gets the crossing, beaten

:22:25. > :22:31.away by Hugo lorries and backing by Vydra! -- Hugo Lloris. What a start,

:22:32. > :22:39.within 30 seconds, for West Bromwich Albion. Vydra. Full credit to

:22:40. > :22:43.Amalfitano, went past Danny Rose. Hugo Lloris got it away but straight

:22:44. > :22:47.into the path of the Czech Republic international, who gleefully

:22:48. > :22:51.accepted and drilled it into the bottom corner. The perfect start for

:22:52. > :22:56.West Bromwich Albion, 27 seconds on the clock and Vydra has scored one

:22:57. > :23:01.of the fastest goals of the season. The West Bromwich Albion tales are

:23:02. > :23:22.up. -- tails. It might come to Chris Brunt! Would

:23:23. > :23:27.you believe this? Inside four minutes, West Bromwich Albion are

:23:28. > :23:34.two up. Chris Brunt after five weeks out with injury is back and back

:23:35. > :23:38.with a goal. They can't quite believe this at the Hawthorns.

:23:39. > :23:45.Christian Eriksen lost his footing and once again, Amalfitano involved.

:23:46. > :23:51.The delivery, Spurs didn't deal with it, Chris Brunt was unmarked. 2-0.

:23:52. > :23:57.His third goal of the season and already, Spurs are two down. What a

:23:58. > :24:06.start. Even he couldn't have dreamt of this.

:24:07. > :24:13.Mightily close from Harry Kane. Finally, Spurs a threat at the other

:24:14. > :24:17.end. And Harry Kane, who scored his first Premier League goal against

:24:18. > :24:27.Sunderland on Monday, saw the opening.

:24:28. > :24:33.It just hit Harry Kane and went wide. He didn't know an awful lot

:24:34. > :24:37.about it. It was a nice build-up than the left-hand side. It could

:24:38. > :24:50.quite easily have ended up in the back of the net.

:24:51. > :25:01.Rose. And the referee has given a penalty. It looked as though he had

:25:02. > :25:04.pointed for a free kick there, but the referee has given Spurs penalty.

:25:05. > :25:09.It is all happening in the first quarter an hour here. Emanuel

:25:10. > :25:15.Adebayor has ten Premier League goals in his last 15 starts.

:25:16. > :25:24.He is denied by Foster. Ben Foster guessed correctly. It wasn't the

:25:25. > :25:28.greatest penalty, in all honesty, from Adebayor. A comfortable save

:25:29. > :25:33.once he had guessed correctly. Disappointing effort from Adebayor.

:25:34. > :25:45.He is smiling, but deep down, he will be absolutely fuming.

:25:46. > :25:52.Encouraged to shoot. Look at the space for Amalfitano. Time to steady

:25:53. > :25:57.himself. And that is a good save from Hugo Lloris. But once again,

:25:58. > :26:03.but often marking left a lot to be desired.

:26:04. > :26:09.Christian Eriksen has been so impressive in recent weeks, they

:26:10. > :26:20.need him for some creativity at the moment.

:26:21. > :26:28.Sessegnon could be in. Still Sessegnon! Three -0, West Bromwich

:26:29. > :26:34.Albion, and we have only had just over half an hour. His fourth goal

:26:35. > :26:37.for the club, already puts clear daylight between themselves and

:26:38. > :26:46.Tottenham. And as soon as it came off the head of Eunice Kabul,

:26:47. > :26:53.Ciriches was struggling, as he has throughout the game -- Younes

:26:54. > :27:13.Kaboul. Deflected and an own goal. Spurs

:27:14. > :27:20.have won back. The man who scored for West Brom against Spurs at White

:27:21. > :27:28.Hart Lane earlier in the season gives the visitors their first

:27:29. > :27:30.today. Taken away from Foster by the left leg of Olsson. Goodness knows

:27:31. > :27:45.what this could finish up. Paulinho goes the goal. Beaten away

:27:46. > :27:49.by Foster. Danny Rose! Terrific double save by Ben Foster. Just look

:27:50. > :27:51.how quickly he is back on his feet and across goal to keep out Danny

:27:52. > :27:58.Rose. He has seen his team take seven

:27:59. > :28:02.points from the last 12, he has talked about new-found belief. It

:28:03. > :28:07.has certainly been evident so far. Spurs have to find a way through.

:28:08. > :28:14.West Brom have everybody back behind the ball.

:28:15. > :28:24.Aaron Lennon on to his left. Good save. Look at the space for Lennon.

:28:25. > :28:30.He dropped his shoulder and stepped inside. Foster very quickly down.

:28:31. > :28:32.They better start to the second half for his team, I imagine a few choice

:28:33. > :28:48.words were exchanged at half-time. Paulinho looking for Harry Kane! He

:28:49. > :28:53.was mightily close to the all-important touch. Just watch how

:28:54. > :28:58.close Harry Kane is on the stretch to this. That is how close.

:28:59. > :29:03.I look at the watch, a long time to go yet. Just past the midway point

:29:04. > :29:11.in the second half. Tottenham could really do with a

:29:12. > :29:17.goal here. West Brom are working so hard to

:29:18. > :29:47.defend what they have got. There is the header. And Harry Kane

:29:48. > :29:54.has got one back for Tottenham. To reduce the deficit to one. His

:29:55. > :30:01.second goal in two games, and he has set up the last 21 minutes at the

:30:02. > :30:06.Hawthorns. Brilliant wing play from Lennon, free header for Harry Kane

:30:07. > :30:08.and Steven Reid on the line couldn't keep it out. There will be six more

:30:09. > :30:24.minutes of stoppage time. Berahino offers support. But he

:30:25. > :30:29.cannot find him, and they have given it away. They will be hoping that

:30:30. > :30:34.history does not repeat itself from the last home game when they

:30:35. > :30:48.conceded a stoppage time equaliser, to make the score line 3-3.

:30:49. > :31:07.Adebayor. Paulinho. So many bodies in the penalty area. Is this the

:31:08. > :31:13.chance? Eriksen! Spurs have done it! Tim Sherwood's team have come from

:31:14. > :31:19.three down to level eight at 3-3. For the second home game running,

:31:20. > :31:27.Pepe Mel sees an injury time equaliser go in to make the score

:31:28. > :31:32.line 3-3. Adebayor has been a peripheral figure throughout, but he

:31:33. > :31:36.was involved. Eriksen took his time, kept his composure and

:31:37. > :31:43.hammered it home. His 10th goal of the season. And it is a killer goal

:31:44. > :31:50.for West Brom to concede. It is a big one for Tottenham. They looked

:31:51. > :32:10.down and out at 3-0. Eventually, they have come back.

:32:11. > :32:19.After the 3-0, it was such a one-sided affair, 20 shots to five,

:32:20. > :32:27.or whatever it was. We missed the penalty. We were disappointed with

:32:28. > :32:32.the third goal, we thought Chiriches was pulled back. But our defending

:32:33. > :32:37.was horrendous. Did you perhaps defend too deep in the second half?

:32:38. > :32:43.TRANSLATION: Yes, of course, it was not the intention but we seemed to

:32:44. > :32:49.drop further and further back. I think the mind is very important,

:32:50. > :32:54.and the players are worried about getting the points to keep us up.

:32:55. > :33:03.What were you thinking at 3-0 up? Get in at half-time and Klingon! We

:33:04. > :33:07.invited pressure in the second half. We were happy to come away with a

:33:08. > :33:11.point. We are just trying to accumulate as many points as we can.

:33:12. > :33:15.Where you finish up at the end of the season is where you belong.

:33:16. > :33:23.There is no God-given right to finish in the top four. It was an

:33:24. > :33:27.extraordinary start to the game, Tottenham's defending was

:33:28. > :33:34.horrendous. It was not that good. It was poor. West Brom started really

:33:35. > :33:39.quickly. They really came out of the traps. This is the first bit, the

:33:40. > :33:52.ball comes in, great save. I think that was a foul. Eriksen needs to do

:33:53. > :34:01.a lot more to support Danny Rose. If you watch Sessegnon, he just flies

:34:02. > :34:06.into him. Another one here, ball into the box. And you can see

:34:07. > :34:15.Naughton, he gets stuck underneath it. Great finish. This is when you

:34:16. > :34:23.listen to Tim Sherwood and he talks about diabolical defending. This

:34:24. > :34:33.happened time and time again in the first half. Again, you do not see

:34:34. > :34:40.it, that is a blatant foul. Chiriches is quick, and there was no

:34:41. > :34:44.way he was getting in front of him. Flamini, Premier League players now,

:34:45. > :34:52.any little touch, they go down. -- for me. The first one, for me, it is

:34:53. > :34:56.not a foul. What I am saying, if that is the other way round, and

:34:57. > :35:02.someone is pulling you back, are you telling me it is not a foul? Who

:35:03. > :35:07.would ever have thought that Robbie Fowler, the striker, would be

:35:08. > :35:13.defending defenders? We have seen it every week, players go down. But as

:35:14. > :35:20.you can see from that picture, he has called his shirt. Jerry? Is

:35:21. > :35:28.quick, there was no way he was getting the other side of him. They

:35:29. > :35:35.did not learn their lessons, did they? No, this gave Tottenham a

:35:36. > :35:46.lifeline. If they had gone in at 3-0 at half-time, they could have won

:35:47. > :35:59.it. Again, ball into the box. Great finish. If you see it from here,

:36:00. > :36:08.Reid debts they are, but he does not get there quick enough. And here,

:36:09. > :36:13.the lad turns his back. Last-minute, injury time, this was

:36:14. > :36:20.last week, they did not do enough to stop the ball. They have conceded

:36:21. > :36:25.four points, all because players have not been prepared to put their

:36:26. > :36:30.bodies on the line. To a game with significance at both ends of the

:36:31. > :36:35.table. If Everton could avoid defeat at Sunderland, they would move above

:36:36. > :36:38.Arsenal. The Black Cats, meanwhile, started the day rock bottom,

:36:39. > :36:46.following that demoralising defeat at Spurs. Guy Mowbray reports.

:36:47. > :36:51.Sunderland in a battle, and Wes Brown is wearing the scars from it.

:36:52. > :36:56.That came courtesy of a clash of heads with Harry Kane of Spurs on

:36:57. > :37:01.Monday. Leon Osman cut his eye in a tangle with Bacary Sagna last

:37:02. > :37:08.Sunday. But it is not so painful when you are winning. And the

:37:09. > :37:24.managers are former team-mates from Spain.

:37:25. > :37:29.Johnson, deflected off Sylvain Distin, corner to Sunderland. The

:37:30. > :37:45.place is lifted. Ki takes the corner. It nearly

:37:46. > :37:51.worked for him. I am not sure it was intended to lovely ball for

:37:52. > :37:58.Deulofeu. Cattermole comes across. Deulofeu holds on and holds on, and

:37:59. > :38:04.shoots, straight at Mannone. Should he have held on quite so long? What

:38:05. > :38:06.a chance Everton had here on the break. Surely the ball had to be

:38:07. > :38:19.played early to Naismith. Roberto Martinez said before the

:38:20. > :38:25.match that he expects this to be one of the toughest games his team has

:38:26. > :38:31.got left. He knows what it is like to be scrapping at the bottom.

:38:32. > :38:41.Naismith, lovely turn! Dear me, he has been in much better form than

:38:42. > :38:43.that recently. You would have put everything on Steven Naismith

:38:44. > :39:00.scoring for the third game in a row there.

:39:01. > :39:10.Chance for Borini! Locked on the line. John Stones got in the way. It

:39:11. > :39:18.was going in from Fabio Borini. Lovely touch from Connor Wickham.

:39:19. > :39:22.John Stones did what every good defender should do and kept on going

:39:23. > :39:38.backwards. Jack Colback. Fabio Borini, lovely

:39:39. > :39:46.shimmy. Big deflection on the shot. No real pace behind it, though.

:39:47. > :39:52.Sunderland have found a bit of fire here. Corner from Johnson.

:39:53. > :40:01.Tim Howard got gloves on it, Connor Wickham had a go. Now, it is Alonso,

:40:02. > :40:05.and there is another deflection, and another corner to Sunderland.

:40:06. > :40:18.Everton are under the cosh of it here.

:40:19. > :40:28.Tim Howard got nothing on that one, it has gone straight behind. If

:40:29. > :40:32.Sunderland's players can feed off the passion of their supporters,

:40:33. > :40:33.they really have a chance of completing that miracle which Gus

:40:34. > :40:49.Poyet has spoken about. Deulofeu! Right across the face.

:40:50. > :40:55.Great pace from the Spaniard on loan from Barcelona.

:40:56. > :40:59.I think there is frustration all around. Everton would really want to

:41:00. > :41:16.win this. Sunderland Need to win it. Vito Mannone has got away with that.

:41:17. > :41:24.He decided that he had to come out, but he never looked confident. 29

:41:25. > :41:32.years ago on Thursday, Bill Kenwright will have watched Everton

:41:33. > :41:39.draw 0-0 at Bayern Munich in the European Cup winners cup final. And

:41:40. > :41:48.it has gone in! It has come off Wes Brown! It is the seventh own goal

:41:49. > :41:59.which Sunderland have conceded this season. Deulofeu, inside and

:42:00. > :42:01.outside, Alonso could not stop him. Everton do not care how it goes in.

:42:02. > :42:33.What a big goal for them. Ki! Blocked by Howard. That was a

:42:34. > :42:49.really good bit of defending from John Stones again.

:42:50. > :43:07.Borini! That is the best yet. That is a really good effort.

:43:08. > :43:13.His demeanour never changes, but I am sure he knows just how excited he

:43:14. > :43:17.is making Everton fans. The spirit goes on and on, and so does

:43:18. > :43:21.Everton's winning run. They have moved into the top four, as

:43:22. > :43:29.Sunderland are left to rue their luck once again. Anchored to the

:43:30. > :43:34.bottom of the Premier League. We are coming off the back of a

:43:35. > :43:39.stylish win against Arsenal. In this league you have to quickly adapt to

:43:40. > :43:48.what is around the corner. Today was a it was scrappy. -- today was a

:43:49. > :43:56.real dogfight at times. It was scrappy. That is what makes this

:43:57. > :43:59.group of players so special. It is very tight, there is practically

:44:00. > :44:04.nothing between the teams, and then you go and lose the game with an own

:44:05. > :44:09.goal, which hurts. It was that type of game, that one action would

:44:10. > :44:16.define who was taking the three points. I have probably had more

:44:17. > :44:19.time than I thought, and I was leaning back a bit and put it over

:44:20. > :44:25.the bar. But in the end we have worked hard and got the result. That

:44:26. > :44:31.is what we need. It is a great three points. It is the highest points

:44:32. > :44:36.tally ever in the Premier League, and that, for a football club like

:44:37. > :44:43.ours, with a history that we have, it feels real exciting. We have got

:44:44. > :44:52.real competition for places, which always helps to focus on our

:44:53. > :44:57.performances. Sunderland, valiant, but ultimately you suspect they

:44:58. > :45:01.might be doomed. Everton, not at their free-flowing best, but in

:45:02. > :45:07.Deulofeu, they have got a very good player. Very good player, young kid.

:45:08. > :45:11.I watched him play in Turkey, in the under-20s, and his pace is

:45:12. > :45:21.absolutely frightening. Thoroughly prepared to go either way. His feet

:45:22. > :45:23.are so quick. He enticed is defenders to want to make the

:45:24. > :45:39.tackle. He is electrifying. And this is one here. All day, he

:45:40. > :45:44.had no protection, Alonso. When you have a kid like this, backs him into

:45:45. > :45:50.the penalty box. A little fortunate with the goal but he caused them

:45:51. > :45:56.problems all day. Not at any time did they say, he needs doubling up.

:45:57. > :46:00.This is the goal. Sunderland are in a great position. I think the

:46:01. > :46:04.goalkeeper tries to gamble. I don't think he needs to gamble. He comes

:46:05. > :46:11.away from his near post, leaves that gap and when you are down there, it

:46:12. > :46:15.is the seventh goal they have had this season, those things happen.

:46:16. > :46:20.You have to feel sorry for Gus Poyet. These are the last five games

:46:21. > :46:25.of the two teams. Everton with a 2-point advantage but probably the

:46:26. > :46:30.top run run-in. Robert Leonteva, the Arsenal run-in looks easier, but the

:46:31. > :46:37.way Everton are playing -- probably on paper. Everton are so confident.

:46:38. > :46:41.They have not played very well but they have an ugly win and that is

:46:42. > :46:48.the sign of a team that is informed, so I wouldn't be surprised if they

:46:49. > :46:51.pip Arsenal for fourth. Still all to play for. With only Premier League

:46:52. > :46:56.bound Leicester City having secured promotion relegation prior to

:46:57. > :47:00.today, it was all to play for across the Football League. Manish

:47:01. > :47:03.Volosozhar. Won promotion under reported world

:47:04. > :47:10.record in the Football League. You can see whether Burnley got the

:47:11. > :47:15.champagne cooking. QPR against Nottingham Forest, with plenty of

:47:16. > :47:20.state. And late promotion contenders Bournemouth. Join me with Neil

:47:21. > :47:22.Warnock after Match of the Day, otherwise we are on the BBC iPlayer

:47:23. > :47:27.all week. And on Sunday, all of the action on

:47:28. > :47:32.what will surely be a pivotal day on this season's title race.

:47:33. > :47:39.Sunday is a day of opportunity. What a goal! A day when the permutations

:47:40. > :47:52.narrow and things suddenly become clear. That is stunning. A day when

:47:53. > :47:53.hope could turn to expectation. Absolutely brilliant! Sunday. A

:47:54. > :48:05.defining day. You spend a few years at Liverpool,

:48:06. > :48:09.they have a real chance. And in this game, if either side wins, they are

:48:10. > :48:13.in a really strong position. Without a doubt and more so from

:48:14. > :48:17.Liverpool's point of view, they need to win more than Manchester City. If

:48:18. > :48:20.City can make a point, they will be more than happy, but what a great

:48:21. > :48:24.game and it is great to see Liverpool up there. They have not

:48:25. > :48:33.won it since 1990, Brendan Rodgers has done a fantastic job and we

:48:34. > :48:35.can't wait for it, can we? It is exciting. you played for both clubs.

:48:36. > :48:44.I think everybody knows where my allegiances lie! It is a fantastic

:48:45. > :48:48.game, one we can't wait for. The south coast and the port City

:48:49. > :48:55.meeting between Southampton, sailing along serenely in eighth, and the

:48:56. > :48:58.Cardiff side in danger of being cast adrift. Safely anchored in the

:48:59. > :49:06.commentary box, Simon Brotherton. Gaston Ramirez replaces the unlucky

:49:07. > :49:11.Jay Rodriguez, who sustained that season-ending knee injury vastly.

:49:12. > :49:18.Cardiff make four changes, among them is a recall for Peter

:49:19. > :49:23.Whittingham, who has made just two substitute appearances totalling 35

:49:24. > :49:30.minutes in the last two months. Kenwyne Jones misses the game with a

:49:31. > :49:33.kidney problem. Just seven points from 16 matches on the road for

:49:34. > :49:34.Cardiff South. Three defeats in the last four games, just a single point

:49:35. > :49:48.the last month or so. Gaston Ramirez! The deflection takes

:49:49. > :49:54.it onto the bar. That is the closest we have come to a so far. Deflected

:49:55. > :49:59.onto the bar by the outstretched leg of Steven Caulker.

:50:00. > :50:03.There is Jay Rodriguez watching the match, just a week after that

:50:04. > :50:08.season-ending knee injury at Manchester City. Rehab has started

:50:09. > :50:14.already, surgery will take place within the next couple of weeks.

:50:15. > :50:28.Beautiful play. A little touch by Cala, who commits the foul.

:50:29. > :50:38.Southampton with a free kick in an interesting position.

:50:39. > :50:46.It is Rickie Lambert the Southampton and it is a good save by David

:50:47. > :50:49.Marshall. -- for Southampton. All that has been missing for

:50:50. > :50:55.Southampton so far is the end product.

:50:56. > :51:10.Back with Southampton once again. Gaston Ramirez with the through

:51:11. > :51:17.ball, Rickie Lambert onside, and David Marshall with the save. Ray

:51:18. > :51:32.Lewington in his watching brief on behalf of England.

:51:33. > :51:39.Luke Shaw away from Jordon Mutch. No handball against Steven Caulker,

:51:40. > :51:47.who, I think, did his best to get his arms out of the way.

:51:48. > :51:57.Let's have a look again here. Difficult to see but he looked as if

:51:58. > :52:02.he was moving his arms away from where the ball might go.

:52:03. > :52:08.Southampton clinically disposed Cardiff on Boxing Day in South

:52:09. > :52:13.Wales, they were 3-0 up within half an hour. Jay Rodriguez scored two,

:52:14. > :52:14.Rickie Lambert the other one. It was very comfortable. They are finding

:52:15. > :52:28.it harder this time. Jordon Mutch still going. A rare

:52:29. > :52:40.foray into enemy territory for Cardiff City Jordon Mutch's shot

:52:41. > :52:41.beaten away. The longer it stays at 0-0, the more Cardiff might feel

:52:42. > :52:53.they can sneak something. Southampton have add almost two

:52:54. > :53:03.thirds of the play so far. But Cardiff are still in this game.

:53:04. > :53:16.Cala tees it up and Cardiff are ahead! Cala's second goal for the

:53:17. > :53:21.club. And against the run of play, and a match they desperately need to

:53:22. > :53:25.win, Cardiff City are ahead. Without an away win since the back-end of

:53:26. > :53:32.September, Cardiff City with the worst away record in the Premier

:53:33. > :53:38.League, have a priceless lead. And it has come from one of their

:53:39. > :53:50.central defenders. Cala's shot beyond the despairing dive. And

:53:51. > :53:53.Cala, who scored his first goal in the defeat to Everton last month,

:53:54. > :53:59.has another here, and how important it could be. You just started to

:54:00. > :54:04.wonder, Southampton had so much of the play without really taking

:54:05. > :54:05.advantage of it in the final third. Cardiff hung in there and now they

:54:06. > :54:21.have got something to hang onto. Superb save by David Marshall.

:54:22. > :54:28.Let's have a look at, as the ball is played forward. Very tight onside. A

:54:29. > :54:34.good save by Marshall, he responded well.

:54:35. > :54:40.Gallagher couldn't quite get it past the Cardiff City goalkeeper. You get

:54:41. > :54:41.the feeling it is going to be attack against defence for the closing

:54:42. > :54:52.minutes. Nathaniel Clyne, what I save! Great

:54:53. > :54:57.stop by Marshall to preserve the clean sheet and the narrow lead.

:54:58. > :55:00.Drilled in low and Marshall was down quickly.

:55:01. > :55:04.What a shot in the arm this would be the Cardiff at a vital time of the

:55:05. > :55:16.season. -- for Cardiff. Wilfried Zaha gets the better of

:55:17. > :55:25.Jose Fonte. Still going. He could finish it off. Saved by Gazzaniga.

:55:26. > :55:28.It really would have been game over if he had slipped that one

:55:29. > :55:36.underneath the Southampton goalkeeper. Held off chose a fund

:55:37. > :55:39.the first and second time. And the save by Gazzaniga.

:55:40. > :55:48.It is now or never for Southampton. One must attack... No! It is all

:55:49. > :55:53.over. And Cardiff are far from finished in their quest to stay in

:55:54. > :56:00.the Premier League. An unlikely win, a precious win, and Cala, one of the

:56:01. > :56:03.mid-season arrivals, is the man who scored the goal. Cardiff City have

:56:04. > :56:09.won at Southampton for the first time in over 50 years.

:56:10. > :56:15.You looked quite relaxed, I don't know how you are feeling inside. I

:56:16. > :56:20.was quite relaxed, because, you know, sometimes we have had the same

:56:21. > :56:24.against Everton, Spurs away, Liverpool at home, you stand there

:56:25. > :56:28.and you are relaxed because you are proud of the boys. No matter what

:56:29. > :56:31.would have happened in the last five minutes, you can stand up there and

:56:32. > :56:37.be proud of everyone. How frustrating was that? TRANSLATION:

:56:38. > :56:41.We are obviously disappointed. If you analyse the 95 minutes of the

:56:42. > :56:45.game, we didn't deserve to lose today but it happens that we lost

:56:46. > :56:51.and it is a big learning curve that we got from this game. We know we

:56:52. > :56:55.can stay in this league but it is going to take performances and

:56:56. > :56:59.results like today. Four more wins is going to be a tough ask, but we

:57:00. > :57:02.are quietly confident we can do it. You could hear the fans towards the

:57:03. > :57:05.end, when they heard the other results, they know we are right in

:57:06. > :57:11.this fight and we won't give in until it is over. And unexpected

:57:12. > :57:15.lifeline in many ways the card, only three points behind Norwich and I

:57:16. > :57:20.think we may have mentioned they have got a tough run in! Everyone

:57:21. > :57:25.keeps saying this but what they have got to do is try and get wins on the

:57:26. > :57:28.table. The result today was magnificent for them, especially

:57:29. > :57:35.with what happened in the full and Norwich game. And a good goal that

:57:36. > :57:38.won the game. It was a bit of a punt free kick into the box, a good

:57:39. > :57:44.header but the clearance has got to go further away. A bit of a faint

:57:45. > :57:53.and it is a goal good enough to win any game. You can see the little bit

:57:54. > :57:56.to take away the players, and Cardiff have a lot to thank this man

:57:57. > :58:02.for, he pulled off a tremendous save from Sam Gallagher. A tremendous

:58:03. > :58:06.ball from Schneiderlin. And this one again, the clearance is straight to

:58:07. > :58:13.Nathaniel Clyne. Left foot, bottom corner and again, what a magnificent

:58:14. > :58:19.saved by the Cardiff Player of the Series on. Has there been a better

:58:20. > :58:23.keeper this season? If there has been, I have not seen one. I

:58:24. > :58:27.remember the game at home, he was absolutely outstanding and when you

:58:28. > :58:31.see the performances he has put in, that is what they are going to need.

:58:32. > :58:35.If Cardiff are going to stay in the league, they needed a special goal

:58:36. > :58:40.and the keeper to make saves. Straight after the game, Solksjaer

:58:41. > :58:51.ran straight over to him and gave him a little cuddle, because he has

:58:52. > :58:55.given him a chance. Exactly two months to the day from there,

:58:56. > :58:59.something special will be getting underway and we have someone a bit

:59:00. > :59:01.special to tell you about it. What really separates the great from the

:59:02. > :59:04.good? special to tell you about it. What

:59:05. > :59:15.really separates the great Style? Of course. Flair, obviously. Passion.

:59:16. > :59:24.That's a given. Learn from your mistakes. Always think about what

:59:25. > :59:34.you missed. Never be satisfied with what you have done. Whatever you do,

:59:35. > :59:36.do it with your heart. I never thought about what I could get out

:59:37. > :59:51.of football. I just wanted to play. Spain have won the World Cup!

:59:52. > :59:53.Not long now, can't wait. And a world-class field, including Mo

:59:54. > :00:00.Farah running his first-ever full marathon, will join thousands of

:00:01. > :00:04.others in the annual London showpiece this Sunday. And another

:00:05. > :00:07.great sporting event concludes later in the day, the final round of the

:00:08. > :00:23.Masters is live from August on BBC Two. Next, two sides who were locked

:00:24. > :00:30.together on 34 points each, before the match.

:00:31. > :00:40.The seven clubs below Aston Villa in the Premiership have all sacked

:00:41. > :00:47.their manager. Tony Pulis's Crystal Palace meanwhile have won six and

:00:48. > :00:53.drawn one here at Selhurst Park. Paul Lambert has bemoaned injuries

:00:54. > :00:54.recently but he is boosted today by the return of Gabby Agbonlahor,

:00:55. > :01:21.Fabian Delph and Al Ahmadi. Both these clubs start the afternoon

:01:22. > :01:29.on 34 points. Here comes the corner. I do not think Speroni would have

:01:30. > :01:34.got that. I think it was Cameron Jerome who got that one away. And

:01:35. > :01:48.Speroni was only too grateful. Joe Ledley was pulled down, free

:01:49. > :02:09.kick to Crystal Palace. Now, is that a penalty? No, it is

:02:10. > :02:12.not. Bolasie is appealing. They are all appealing. Just for a moment, I

:02:13. > :02:17.thought Bolasie was going to get a penalty, but does he stumble over

:02:18. > :02:30.his own foot? I do not think there was any contact from a Villa player.

:02:31. > :02:42.Vlaar continues his run. He has got support from Agbonlahor. Not a bad

:02:43. > :02:49.effort. Comfortable, though, for Speroni.

:02:50. > :02:59.This is promising, it is Bolasie. Oh, what a good effort, and it could

:03:00. > :03:07.still go in! Wonderful save in the first place by Guzan. Jerome thought

:03:08. > :03:14.he had got the rebound in. Bolasie, not a noted goal-scorer, hits this

:03:15. > :03:21.well. Jerome should really have scored. The best effort so far this

:03:22. > :03:23.afternoon from Palace. There is a wonderful at the sphere inside the

:03:24. > :03:43.ground. -- atmosphere. Bolasie is proving one or two people

:03:44. > :03:47.wrong in this game. He has always been regarded as a provider, not a

:03:48. > :03:57.finisher. He has had two good efforts in this second half.

:03:58. > :04:02.Championship. He has won it back. He has found to Rome. Now, on the other

:04:03. > :04:11.wing is Bolasie. Deflection, handball, Howard Webb says penalty!

:04:12. > :04:20.And Westwood says, consult the assistant referee. It is not a

:04:21. > :04:26.penalty! Well, here is the cross from the other side. No, it is not

:04:27. > :04:35.handball, I think it has hit him in the chest. I think Howard Webb has

:04:36. > :04:54.had the honesty to changes mind. -- to change his mind.

:04:55. > :05:03.Palace come out with the ball, and this is Bolasie. He has had a very,

:05:04. > :05:08.very good second half. A chance surely for Crystal Palace! It is

:05:09. > :05:12.Puncheon, and he has done it again! Jason Puncheon, a hero for the

:05:13. > :05:22.second week running! And the two wingers, Bolasie and Puncheon, have

:05:23. > :05:27.combined to produce the goal that Palace have been chasing. These two

:05:28. > :05:30.have both had varied careers, in the Premier League, and in the lower

:05:31. > :05:32.divisions. But Bolasie has been a real threat this afternoon in the

:05:33. > :05:50.second half. That has beaten Guzan, and Crystal

:05:51. > :06:02.Palace are in the lead. And I have to say, it is deserved, on the play.

:06:03. > :06:09.Lowton for Aston Villa! Suddenly, Crystal Palace can see the 37 point

:06:10. > :06:27.mark just in front of them. Oh, and they are away again, Palace.

:06:28. > :06:34.Parr is in the middle. And I say, that should have have been all over.

:06:35. > :06:44.And it was Jenson Puncheon again. -- Jason Puncheon.

:06:45. > :06:51.And all the Palace fans look anxiously at the big clock, as

:06:52. > :06:57.Lowton gets the ball. This is Albrighton. It is aimed at Grant

:06:58. > :07:13.Holt. Can he had it down for Weimann? Good save, sporadically, --

:07:14. > :07:21.Speroni, that was vital. There was nothing much in the game.

:07:22. > :07:25.And Speroni has made a great save towards the end. The game could have

:07:26. > :07:32.gone either way. We might have been talking about a couple of penalty

:07:33. > :07:37.shouts. What was your view? I think the linesman did brilliant for the

:07:38. > :07:41.second one. It was not a penalty. The first one is debatable, we think

:07:42. > :07:46.he has caught his standing foot. So that is a bit closer, but it is not

:07:47. > :07:50.clear-cut. It is not an easy decision for Howard to make. You

:07:51. > :07:57.cannot stop scoring all of a sudden wanted you have got to believe in

:07:58. > :08:02.yourself. It has been great. One or two people are talking about you

:08:03. > :08:07.being manager of the year. We will dust ourselves down and we will have

:08:08. > :08:10.a look and see what is going on. But there are lots of people who earn

:08:11. > :08:17.their money at this level. We get paid good money to do our job. I am

:08:18. > :08:20.doing my job. He is doing it very well indeed. Crystal Palace have

:08:21. > :08:26.conceded fewer goals than Liverpool this season, which is interesting.

:08:27. > :08:30.Lunch and, once again, a player you know well? Yes, I had him when I was

:08:31. > :08:38.manager at MK Dons. Fantastic ability. He was a bit of a nomad, he

:08:39. > :08:40.went from club to club. That is where you have gone wrong, you

:08:41. > :08:46.should have said he was reddish. I ended up selling him to Southampton.

:08:47. > :08:52.-- rubbish. Technically, he is fantastic. That goal reminds me a

:08:53. > :09:09.bit of Robbie Fowler. Yes, I think the finish was brilliant. What about

:09:10. > :09:13.this one? I have watched Crystal Palace a few times this season, and

:09:14. > :09:16.Speroni has been outstanding. And that is another one where he keeps

:09:17. > :09:25.them in the game. Great piece of goalkeeping, for sure. You're mad,

:09:26. > :09:31.Tom, he is at Crystal Palace, not playing regularly at the moment, but

:09:32. > :09:38.what does he make of it all? -- your lad. It is this togetherness, the

:09:39. > :09:41.spirit, everybody pulling in the same direction. There are no big

:09:42. > :09:46.stars, no big-name players, everybody has got a job to do. At

:09:47. > :09:49.the moment Thomas is not playing, obviously I would like him to be

:09:50. > :09:55.playing more, but he understands it is about the team, it is not about

:09:56. > :10:00.him. But the spirit is fantastic. And when you talk about the 12th

:10:01. > :10:05.man, those fans, they are the best fans I have seen for a long time.

:10:06. > :10:11.You have been arguing all day about this miss from Jaron. You thought it

:10:12. > :10:17.was a sitter, and's no, I thought it was a sitter. He forgets that I

:10:18. > :10:25.played with him. Being a manager has probably mellowed him out of it! If

:10:26. > :10:31.I had missed this, he would have absolutely had a go at me. He has

:10:32. > :10:35.got to score that, two yards out. We are talking about a Premier League

:10:36. > :10:40.player here. I think it just bounces in front of him. He should have

:10:41. > :10:45.taken it with his other foot. It is a long way out! Listen, he will be

:10:46. > :10:51.disappointed, but it is not a sitter, that is for sure. Our final

:10:52. > :10:58.game tonight is a midst table meeting between Stoke City and

:10:59. > :11:08.Newcastle United, whose season has rather fizzled out of date. Two

:11:09. > :11:14.clubs saved from the drama of scrapping for survival points. The

:11:15. > :11:22.goals of Peter Odemwingie have played a huge role in Stoke's surge

:11:23. > :11:26.up the table. He got the winner here against Hull a fortnight ago. Loic

:11:27. > :11:31.Remy is still missing with a calf injury. Newcastle are turning to

:11:32. > :11:32.Shola Ameobi to try to solve their goal drought . his last Premier

:11:33. > :12:00.League strike came 16 months ago. Tim Krul was flat-footed. Newcastle

:12:01. > :12:06.have survived. What an opportunity this was for Stoke to take the lead.

:12:07. > :12:09.Peter Crouch got in between the defenders. Newcastle are playing the

:12:10. > :12:27.three central defenders today. Begovic was close enough to prevent

:12:28. > :12:37.a Gosling getting a clean shot at goal.

:12:38. > :12:44.Alan Pardew has served his three-game stadium ban. This is the

:12:45. > :12:51.second game of his four-game touchline ban.

:12:52. > :13:05.The flag stays down for Cisse. How good a shout was this for Papiss

:13:06. > :13:11.Cisse? The Stoke fans felt he took a dive, but Cameron was nowhere near

:13:12. > :13:16.the ball. I think Newcastle will feel hard done-by. As always, it is

:13:17. > :13:29.a blustery afternoon in the potteries. Arnautovic has Pieters to

:13:30. > :13:35.his left. And the cross has gone in! Erik Pieters' first goal in the

:13:36. > :13:45.Premier League, and I am not convinced he was going for goal. He

:13:46. > :13:50.is almost embarrassed to celebrate. Arnautovic with the approach work,

:13:51. > :13:52.and he picked out Pieters. I am pretty sure it was a, looking for

:13:53. > :14:14.Peter Crouch. -- it was a cross. This looks promising for Stoke City.

:14:15. > :14:26.Peter Crouch! He could not get over it.

:14:27. > :14:31.Stoke City, reaching the magic 40 point mark one week ago, after a

:14:32. > :14:53.fantastic month in March. Everything to his left. Looking for

:14:54. > :15:02.Crouch. And this time, he does force save out of Tim Krul and again, the

:15:03. > :15:13.very good opportunity to score for the former England international.

:15:14. > :15:20.It dropped for Williamson. Suddenly, there is a threat from Newcastle

:15:21. > :15:23.United. Mike Williamson, who has never scored in a Newcastle shirt,

:15:24. > :15:27.almost found himself scoring the equaliser here.

:15:28. > :15:37.Since they beat Stoke City on Boxing Day, Newcastle have lost ten out of

:15:38. > :15:38.15 year league games. The first" Pardew out" banner is being

:15:39. > :15:53.unveiled. Wrong side of the post from Stoke

:15:54. > :15:58.point of view. A ball from Steven N'Zonzi and Charlie Adam desperately

:15:59. > :16:04.surging up the pitch and hoping the past comes. But still the killer

:16:05. > :16:08.second goal won't come. And the facemask is a consequence of an

:16:09. > :16:11.incident in training this week, when he broke his nose in four places.

:16:12. > :16:27.Sounds pretty painful. Anita is back post. Couldn't get

:16:28. > :16:32.over it. What a chance. Vernon Anita started the move, Armstrong kept it

:16:33. > :16:37.moving, Ameobi with a lovely cross and Stoke City nearly lost two

:16:38. > :16:41.points. We are obviously in a good position

:16:42. > :16:44.and then click on with these remaining games and I think next

:16:45. > :16:48.year, given the benefit of the work we have done as a group this year, I

:16:49. > :16:55.think we can look forward to another good season, I hope. Your chance to

:16:56. > :17:01.tell us that you meant that. Yes. No, no! It was a cross and it went

:17:02. > :17:06.in, lucky but sometimes you need it. Tim Krul, the goalkeeper on the

:17:07. > :17:10.receiving end, did you have a few words with him? Are well out of the

:17:11. > :17:17.game, my Dutch friend. I will have a chat with him. -- I will have to.

:17:18. > :17:22.Replayed well today, a freak goal and I think we should have had a

:17:23. > :17:25.penalty. We are not getting the breaks, missed chances, blocks on

:17:26. > :17:29.the line and that is where we are at the moment and hopefully we can go

:17:30. > :17:35.to the next game and get a win. I can't fault the character of the

:17:36. > :17:38.players and the effort they put in. Stoke on restoring that fortress

:17:39. > :17:42.Britannia this season. Especially with the fans, they are great fans

:17:43. > :17:47.and Mark Hughes has done a great job. We were worried if they would

:17:48. > :17:50.stay up when he took over and he has changed their style of play and it

:17:51. > :17:55.is a tough place to go to. He has done a very good job. On the other

:17:56. > :18:01.side of things, Saint Alan Pardew got his band, Newcastle have really

:18:02. > :18:08.struggled. Well, to me, they are playing in holiday mode. -- since

:18:09. > :18:13.Alan Pardew got his van. We saw banners again, another manager under

:18:14. > :18:16.pressure. Before we leave you, let's have a

:18:17. > :18:20.look at the Premier League table. The match of the weekend is still to

:18:21. > :18:25.come, the league leaders Liverpool hosting Manchester City on Sunday

:18:26. > :18:29.and Chelsea complete the triumvirate of title contenders in action.

:18:30. > :18:36.Arsenal are out of the top four but have made it to the FA Cup final.

:18:37. > :18:41.Sunderland are seven points from safety but it is congested above

:18:42. > :18:45.them. Let's see what the papers have to say. The Sunday express is

:18:46. > :18:49.linking Southampton pair Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw to Manchester

:18:50. > :18:54.United. And reports that Vincent Kompany could miss the game with

:18:55. > :18:59.Liverpool because of a knee injury suffered in training. The Mail on

:19:00. > :19:03.Sunday lead on comments made by his club manager Manuel Pellegrini,

:19:04. > :19:05.saying it would be very disappointing for football if

:19:06. > :19:10.Chelsea won the title ahead of a more attack minded side.

:19:11. > :19:12.Well, by beating the Canaries, Felix has put the cat among the pigeons.

:19:13. > :19:39.Goodbye. This is the most priceless work

:19:40. > :19:42.in the artist's collection It took him just five minutes

:19:43. > :19:50.and 20 seconds to create.
