:00:08. > :00:19.Look at his face! Just look at his face!

:00:20. > :00:22.Look at that. Oh, look at that!

:00:23. > :00:24.What a goal. Oh, what a goal.

:00:25. > :00:46.We're mid-way through an absorbing Barclays Premier League season.

:00:47. > :01:24.Alan Shearer and Graeme Le Saux resolve to be resolute

:01:25. > :01:29.It's six games without a win on the road for Manchester City.

:01:30. > :01:34.Manuel Pellegrini's side were in action at Watford,

:01:35. > :01:37.for whom striker Odion Ighalo was looking to equal the all-time

:01:38. > :01:38.club record of scoring in seven successive games.

:01:39. > :01:45.Jonathan Pearce was at Vicarage Road.

:01:46. > :01:51.Reasons to be cheerful for Watford and bass Quique Flores, no Premier

:01:52. > :01:57.League player has had more shots on target than Odion Ighalo this

:01:58. > :02:01.season. Two changes, Nyom and Holebas come in. Reasons to be

:02:02. > :02:06.fearful for Manor Pellegrini, City have dropped 15 away points from a

:02:07. > :02:10.possible last 18 and Mandela again replaces the absent Vincent Kompany,

:02:11. > :02:19.can he keep a second successive clean sheet?

:02:20. > :02:25.The man who started the last five games, neat turn into Troy Deeney,

:02:26. > :02:30.running away to the right and Almen Abdi arriving on the overlap as

:02:31. > :02:34.Nyom... Almen Abdi goes the goal and a bright start by Watford. Good use

:02:35. > :02:36.of the ball and the early pass and Almen Abdi had options but swung a

:02:37. > :02:48.shot. Deeney, looking for his strike

:02:49. > :02:55.partner, Ighalo. It is won by Almen Abdi who feeds Troy Deeney into the

:02:56. > :03:00.penalty area and down he goes. The referee, I think was absolutely

:03:01. > :03:06.right. The full-back just keeps his running line, Aleksandar Kolarov.

:03:07. > :03:14.Yes, Deeney goes down but it was the wrong side of Kolarov to get a

:03:15. > :03:19.penalty in that way. Almen Abdi pokes it in an Ighalo has spun his

:03:20. > :03:24.man and he's in on goal, Ighalo! Hart comes and Deeney cannot follow

:03:25. > :03:28.up. Cleared by Sagna. Big chance for Watford. On his current form, you

:03:29. > :03:35.would have backed Ighalo to school, there, rolls his defender so well.

:03:36. > :03:42.Fine goalkeeping by Joe Hart. -- to score. Fernandinho. Sagna is the man

:03:43. > :03:45.over on the right. De Bruin has gone for goal, disguised the shot,

:03:46. > :03:52.awkward for the goalkeeper who parried to get it away. Could have

:03:53. > :03:55.played it wide, De Bruin. But he dipped it just in front of the

:03:56. > :04:03.goalkeeper, making it very difficult for Gomes. De Bruyne. Not the best

:04:04. > :04:08.of passes to Fernandinho, who made it a good ball, and now find Silva.

:04:09. > :04:13.Manchester City, Silva into the box and Fernandinho continued his run

:04:14. > :04:20.beyond the goalkeeper. Silva with a header and then the overhead.

:04:21. > :04:23.Sterling over the bar! Silva with a good ball to Fernandinho and the

:04:24. > :04:28.goalkeeper did well initially. Look at the yellow shirts. They should

:04:29. > :04:37.have stopped it getting to Sterling. A very open first half an hour.

:04:38. > :04:43.A lot of Watford's football has been in front of the Manchester City

:04:44. > :04:48.defence. Can they get behind? Nyom could not but he might do now. He

:04:49. > :04:53.went down in stages, there. He's going to get a yellow card for

:04:54. > :05:00.diving. He can't complain, either. He went down belatedly and

:05:01. > :05:07.dramatically. Fernandinho was taking his foot away. Sterling and

:05:08. > :05:12.Manchester City need all three points, here. Kevin De Bruyne.

:05:13. > :05:16.Aguero, ahead of him and Silva the edge of the box. He's going to go

:05:17. > :05:23.for goal and deflected away off Cathcart. Just a lack of conviction

:05:24. > :05:28.in the final third. It is Manchester City's first corner of the game.

:05:29. > :05:36.Free header! Fernandinho should have put Manchester City ahead. He was an

:05:37. > :05:40.marked -- not marked and given that opportunity, that space and freedom,

:05:41. > :05:47.he should have hit the target. A big chance, that. Watford looking to

:05:48. > :05:51.counter the stock Ighalo into the box and mangler with him. He got the

:05:52. > :05:58.last touch for the corner. Very powerful, Ighalo. Watson will take

:05:59. > :06:05.the Watford corner. Ighalo in the six yard area. Oh, it is an own

:06:06. > :06:09.goal! Watford have the lead. Ben Watson takes the credit. He was so

:06:10. > :06:15.unlucky not to score against Tottenham the other night. The

:06:16. > :06:23.goal-line technology foxed him. It might have gone all the way in. It

:06:24. > :06:29.went off the back of Kolarov. Just the back of his head. Ben Watson

:06:30. > :06:35.deserved it but technically, it goes down as an own goal. He does not

:06:36. > :06:38.care. Watford lead Manchester City. This is where I think a few

:06:39. > :06:42.Manchester City players need to look at themselves. Have they been hungry

:06:43. > :06:48.enough away from home this season? In every minute of every game?

:06:49. > :06:56.Deflected through and Gomes comes and punches away. He did not know

:06:57. > :07:00.that what is team-mate. -- was his team-mate. Kevin De Bruyne with a

:07:01. > :07:05.corner kick, Sagna with a flick on and nearly came to Fernandinho!

:07:06. > :07:11.Appeals for a penalty. Was he fouled? There was pressure on him

:07:12. > :07:18.physically but his legs seemed to slip away from him. Still plenty of

:07:19. > :07:27.time in this game, though, for Manchester City to come back into

:07:28. > :07:31.it, over 20 minutes to go. Aguero. De Bruin. Silva with a touch back,

:07:32. > :07:35.good understanding and Kevin De Bruyne with a shot and save. That

:07:36. > :07:40.was going in, a lovely Manchester City pure quality. Look at the

:07:41. > :07:47.understanding. Silva knows exactly where Kevin De Bruyne is going to

:07:48. > :07:51.go. Good goalkeeping. Mangala is going off and Wilfried Bony is

:07:52. > :08:02.coming on. A centre forward for a centre-half. Fernandinho will go in

:08:03. > :08:06.alongside Otamendi. Almen Abdi into A. Manchester City switched off in a

:08:07. > :08:12.midfield now that Fernandinho has moved back. -- into Etienne Capoue.

:08:13. > :08:18.Nearly all the way through but it bounced kindly for him, over he

:08:19. > :08:22.goes! He was caught. The substitution gamble nearly backfired

:08:23. > :08:24.on Manchester City, there, no one in central midfield and Etienne Capoue

:08:25. > :08:32.goes a long way before lifting it over. Silva. De Bruyne round the

:08:33. > :08:44.corner. Kolarov with an early, good ball, met by Britos. Sound as they

:08:45. > :08:48.pound all day long, Miguel Britos, the Uruguayan 30-year-old. -- a

:08:49. > :08:55.pound. What an equaliser! Toure! Manchester City level. And for the

:08:56. > :08:59.first time in the game, really, Watford have switched off. A belted

:09:00. > :09:03.equaliser, into the near post, the corner curled back to him. The first

:09:04. > :09:11.mistake that Watford have really made. Just got in front of Holebas.

:09:12. > :09:14.Slams it in. Brilliant finish. Now, can they go on and win what is a

:09:15. > :09:34.crucial game for them? 1-1. Yellow shirts streaming back, Sagna

:09:35. > :09:38.with a cross and Aguero will challenge for it. Brilliant,

:09:39. > :09:45.brilliant header! From behind, Manchester City have come back with

:09:46. > :09:50.two late goals to surely win it? A classy finish from a class act. Look

:09:51. > :09:56.at Aguero, rising between the defenders. He hangs in the air and

:09:57. > :10:00.directs the perfect header home. His first goal in five games. Since he

:10:01. > :10:06.scored against Liverpool back in November. Manchester City have

:10:07. > :10:11.looked lacklustre but it is the mark of champions to get points when you

:10:12. > :10:16.are playing badly. Guedioura with a cross, looking for Ighalo. Will it

:10:17. > :10:23.come for him? It has but straight at Joe Hart. In recent weeks, they have

:10:24. > :10:29.been going in. But fortune did not favour him, there, and he may well

:10:30. > :10:34.have been offside. But he is so quick to react to the second ball.

:10:35. > :10:42.What must he be thinking? Exotic oration. -- exasperation.

:10:43. > :10:47.You can say a lot of things about this team but character, we always

:10:48. > :10:53.have, in the last years. It was important to keep our calm mind and

:10:54. > :10:57.trust in working, the way we play. I think we prepared the players and

:10:58. > :11:02.finally, we scored those two beautiful goals. They are a very

:11:03. > :11:06.good team, especially the strikers, in good moments, to score so many

:11:07. > :11:13.goals this season. And we know to come here and win against Watford is

:11:14. > :11:17.very, very hard but we did it. It is a difficult to accept the result. We

:11:18. > :11:22.gave the opportunity to Manchester City to come back into the match.

:11:23. > :11:26.But I'm really pleased and happy with the performance of the players.

:11:27. > :11:32.But this is another lesson for the future. We are really competitive

:11:33. > :11:38.but we have to take care of these things because the match lasts 90

:11:39. > :11:42.minutes. Watford certainly made life difficult, didn't they, but where

:11:43. > :11:46.there are superstars, there is hope. Two things constantly worrying that

:11:47. > :11:49.you went -- with Manchester City. Firstly they still have not

:11:50. > :11:53.addressed the issue of playing without Vincent Kompany despite

:11:54. > :11:58.millions and millions being spent on defenders. I think they are poor at

:11:59. > :12:02.the back. The second is, why does it take 70 minutes for them to kick

:12:03. > :12:06.into action when they are one goal down? It's exciting! Why can't they

:12:07. > :12:11.do it, have a bit of urgency from the start of the game from their

:12:12. > :12:16.leaders in the team? But the goals they scored were absolutely superb.

:12:17. > :12:22.A 1-0 down and it takes them 70 minutes to get a bit of football and

:12:23. > :12:26.class going and it was a great move into Silva, beautiful touch and now

:12:27. > :12:31.they are up and running, bit of confidence, decent ball in, Toure,

:12:32. > :12:35.Ighalo should do better, Holebas is marking him. It is Abery and finish

:12:36. > :12:39.and he is capable of that. We have seen that. But look at Ben Watson in

:12:40. > :12:44.front of him, pointing, "Get in front of him, don't let him free",

:12:45. > :12:49.but they do and they get punished. Confidence is flowing but this is a

:12:50. > :12:54.truly outstanding goal. The cross is brilliant but the header is out of

:12:55. > :12:58.this world. The way he times it, the direction, it is just perfection.

:12:59. > :13:03.He's absolutely shattered because he is not match fit so he takes his

:13:04. > :13:06.time to get back in. But the ball takes out three defenders but for

:13:07. > :13:12.him to get in between the two defenders and get the direction and

:13:13. > :13:17.the power, just absolutely superb. Yes, a fantastic finish and the

:13:18. > :13:20.cross, it is just inviting Aguero to win it. But as Allen said about

:13:21. > :13:23.Manchester City defensively, especially away from home, they have

:13:24. > :13:28.got three losses and three draws away from home and this is their

:13:29. > :13:31.first win in seven. But the fact that defensively, they seem to

:13:32. > :13:35.switch off and give the opponent a chance, they have only just had one

:13:36. > :13:39.clean sheet with Kompany out of the Dean but whoever is back there,

:13:40. > :13:43.Mangala, Otamendi or Demichelis, they seem to invite teams onto them

:13:44. > :13:46.because they are capable of making mistakes. Without the shield of

:13:47. > :13:51.Toure in front of them, they struggled defensively to keep it

:13:52. > :13:55.tight. As for Watford, very resilient, a tough side to beat,

:13:56. > :13:58.doing excellently in the Premier League. A bit of bad luck of late

:13:59. > :14:03.and funnily enough, the seven games they have lost our against top seven

:14:04. > :14:07.teams. Watford have got an identity which I like and it is based on hard

:14:08. > :14:12.work. They did everything Manchester City didn't in the first half,

:14:13. > :14:16.worked hard, pressed City and unsettled them and created some

:14:17. > :14:18.deserved chances. They will consider themselves unfortunate. They look

:14:19. > :14:24.like they have a great team spirit and everyone gets on well. Etienne

:14:25. > :14:28.Capoue is playing Greg Lobban them. -- very well for them.

:14:29. > :14:30.The 2nd of January might be the earliest we've ever talked

:14:31. > :14:32.about a relegation dogfight, but Sunderland versus Aston Villa

:14:33. > :14:38.Alistair Mann was at the Stadium of Light.

:14:39. > :14:44.Sunderland will be hoping top-scorer, Jermain Defoe, can

:14:45. > :14:48.maintain his excellent run against Villa having registered eight times

:14:49. > :14:52.a career high against them. The hosts make two changes, including

:14:53. > :14:59.John O'Shea, who has been passed fit to return today. Ayew's ill time

:15:00. > :15:03.suspension allowed Gestede an opportunity to score for the first

:15:04. > :15:05.time since September. He's the only Villa player to have netted a

:15:06. > :15:11.winning goal this season. That was on the opening day. He's one of five

:15:12. > :15:15.changes, including Jack Grealish for his first start since being

:15:16. > :15:26.disciplined for his off-field conduct. Borini. Johnson,

:15:27. > :15:32.Cattermole. Jones. Unlucky, Lescott got on in the way. Borini's

:15:33. > :15:36.backheel. Watmore hits it. It was swinging away, off balance. A good

:15:37. > :15:41.positive start from Sunderland. The noise that has been transmitted from

:15:42. > :15:45.the Sunderland supporters reflects that they certainly believe that the

:15:46. > :15:50.start that their side have embarked upon is exactly what they would have

:15:51. > :16:02.demanded on such a vital game. Richards. Veretout. Grealish,

:16:03. > :16:08.muscled out of it by M'Vila. Nice turn again by Bacuna. His cross is

:16:09. > :16:13.over the hip. Goodness me, it was turned into a delicious ball in the

:16:14. > :16:17.end. Veretout is very disappointed that he couldn't stroke it into the

:16:18. > :16:25.corner of the net for what would have been his first goal in English

:16:26. > :16:34.football. Watmore. Headed away by Cisse, nudged on by Cattermole,

:16:35. > :16:39.Johnson. M'Vila. Now, van Aanholt. Decides to go for glory - and a

:16:40. > :16:43.deflection off Richards. I think it's an own-goal off Richards. Van

:16:44. > :16:46.Aanholt claims the celebration. . Looked to me as though Richards got

:16:47. > :16:54.the telling touch and guided it beyond the reach of his own-goal

:16:55. > :17:04.keeper. Well, that's a real killer blow for Remi Garde. Van Aanholt

:17:05. > :17:11.hits it. Richards steers it beyond Guzan. The most unfortunate of ways

:17:12. > :17:15.to concede. Veretout. Disowe cressed. A weighted ball to Defoe.

:17:16. > :17:23.Richards comes across with him. Defoe has support. He's going it

:17:24. > :17:29.alone. Guzan stops it. Well, Defoe has had so few opportunities today

:17:30. > :17:36.that when he did have the ball in an attack situation, he takes on

:17:37. > :17:40.Richards. Graham is free at the top of the picture, if he can slip him

:17:41. > :17:47.in. He decides to go himself. Guzan was in the right position.

:17:48. > :17:50.Dispossessed. Away comes Traore. Wonderful pace, away from M'Vila,

:17:51. > :17:55.who tried to bring him down. Away from Wes Brown. The cross is not

:17:56. > :18:04.bad. Heel on the volley. Oh, that is a stunner! Fantastic goal. Wow! It's

:18:05. > :18:08.only the 16th goal they've scored all season but, I tell you what,

:18:09. > :18:13.it's one of the best that any side has managed. Brilliant from Traore.

:18:14. > :18:19.He eludes the tackle of M'Vila. Over the challenge of Wes Brown, his

:18:20. > :18:24.cross is delightful, but there's a lot of work for Gil to do. The

:18:25. > :18:28.technique is absolutely magnificent. What a finish. Terrific goal from

:18:29. > :18:33.Aston Villa. They have certainly deserved to be level today, but

:18:34. > :18:37.who'd have predicted that the Premier League's lowest scorers had

:18:38. > :18:47.it in them to do that? Here's Johnson. Towards Defoe. Took it

:18:48. > :18:54.well. Lescott in front of him - and scores! It's relief and joy all

:18:55. > :18:59.mixed in for Sunderland. It's a fantastic finish from Jermain Defoe.

:19:00. > :19:06.It's his ninth goal against Aston Villa, but in many, many ways it

:19:07. > :19:12.might be the most precious. Super finish. He took it down

:19:13. > :19:16.delightfully. He was faced by Lescott and there was just one

:19:17. > :19:22.thought in his mind - work a little bit of space, and find the corner of

:19:23. > :19:27.the net. And Jermain Defoe, with a goal, which means an awful lot to

:19:28. > :19:34.Sam Allardyce, and might mean an even greater amount to Sunderland

:19:35. > :19:42.football club. Up towards Gestede, Mannone did well, exceptionally so,

:19:43. > :19:49.really. Good Parry from the keeper. Little touch from Defoe for Graham.

:19:50. > :19:56.Aston Villa throw. Well, he's thrown it, Bacuna straight to Defoe.

:19:57. > :20:01.Calamitous error. Of all players, he gave it to Defoe. Oh, they've given

:20:02. > :20:06.it away again, Aston Villa. It's beyond sloppy, really. Cattermole's

:20:07. > :20:13.taking it to the corner. In the circumstances, you can understand

:20:14. > :20:18.why. In that 30 seconds, it kind of sums up Aston Villa this season.

:20:19. > :20:21.Bacuna with the throw, gives it straight to Defoe, then Villa

:20:22. > :20:34.managed to contrive to give the ball away again, just moments later. Got

:20:35. > :20:39.the return. Now Defoe! Well, they can enjoy themselves now,

:20:40. > :20:44.Sunderland. Aston Villa sunk, Sunderland Sunderland fighting.

:20:45. > :20:50.Jermain Defoe, if any man can help Sunderland to that safety line, it's

:20:51. > :20:54.surely him. Two really tidy finishes, the last one in

:20:55. > :21:05.stoppage-time to cement the three points. Cattermole. Up towards

:21:06. > :21:11.Defoe, offside it would have been a hat-trick. It isn't. It's a heck of

:21:12. > :21:17.a tight call that. Benefit of the doubt, I think he was onside but

:21:18. > :21:21.it's not going to affect the result. Sunderland's annual fight for

:21:22. > :21:25.survival is up and running again. I have to say I was really pleased

:21:26. > :21:29.about everybody holding their nerve today, fans included, when they

:21:30. > :21:34.scored. You know, we could have gone under at that stage. We didn't. We

:21:35. > :21:39.kept plugging away and we kept it nice and tight at the back and

:21:40. > :21:44.finally got what we wanted. That was the 3-1 victory. I'm not here to

:21:45. > :21:49.lose a game. I'm here to try to make the team win. Today we were just so

:21:50. > :21:53.close. You have to look at the result, which is the main target for

:21:54. > :21:58.every time in football, but then you have to look as well the way we

:21:59. > :22:04.played. To be fair, we didn't play so badly. I can of course blame my

:22:05. > :22:08.players, some of my players in certain situations, of course, when

:22:09. > :22:13.you conceded goal it's always because you made a mistake. Then I

:22:14. > :22:18.saw a team that wanted to fight, but then probably we missed some

:22:19. > :22:21.quality. Tremendous record against Aston Villa were aware of how well

:22:22. > :22:24.you have done against Villa, ten times you have scored against them?

:22:25. > :22:29.Yes. One of those things over the year. Enjoy playing against Aston

:22:30. > :22:34.Villa. Got a few braces, it's about the team at the end of the day. Nice

:22:35. > :22:37.to score goals. I love scoring goals, everyone knows that. When you

:22:38. > :22:40.win games it's nice to be on the scoresheet. We need the three points

:22:41. > :22:48.today. The goals that bring the points. Defoe now 134 Premier League

:22:49. > :22:52.goals. I doubt many of them would be as quite of that importance? No,

:22:53. > :22:57.really significant. I mean, you you have to say Aston Villa as well,

:22:58. > :23:02.Remi Garde saying that the team made mistakes. We will see some

:23:03. > :23:05.horrendous mistakes. First of all you have Aston Villa actually

:23:06. > :23:08.getting themselves back into the game. Traore here does everything

:23:09. > :23:12.that he needs to, and more, he has strength, speed. He rides a tackle

:23:13. > :23:17.there from van Aanholt. Goes past Brown like he is not there. He digs

:23:18. > :23:22.this cross out. Excellent ball. The finish is exquisite. Fabulous. To

:23:23. > :23:26.get it when it's almost behind you. You see it from this angle. It's

:23:27. > :23:29.almost past him when he hits it. Tomorrow redirect is fabulous

:23:30. > :23:34.technique. When Villa have something to hold on to they capitulate and

:23:35. > :23:39.collapse. A decent line there. Defoe and Lescott. All of a sudden, you

:23:40. > :23:41.see two Villa players dropping off and two players dropping back. You

:23:42. > :23:44.can't do that when there is no pressure on the ball. Excellent

:23:45. > :23:49.finish hem moves the ball quickly. You can see it from here. A decent

:23:50. > :23:53.line. You have Berahino there, in all of that space -- Borini. It's

:23:54. > :23:57.like Richards decides he has to go out and intercept that. If him and

:23:58. > :24:01.Hutton had stayed with the backline and dropped in there, Defoe had

:24:02. > :24:05.nowhere to gchl he wouldn't have been as dangerous as it became. Once

:24:06. > :24:09.he gets in that space, Defoe, one step, opens it up and hits it it

:24:10. > :24:14.into the corner. Then it's a catalogue of errors. This is

:24:15. > :24:18.embarrassing. First of all Bacuna. There is no real opportunity here.

:24:19. > :24:22.Ball back to Guzan. Embarrassing clearance. Cisse let's the ball run.

:24:23. > :24:28.He is not aware he has Cattermole there. Then Cattermole goes to play

:24:29. > :24:32.a bit of time. Unbeknown to both teams, this throw-in will result in

:24:33. > :24:35.one of the calamitous goals I have seen this season. Six Aston Villa

:24:36. > :24:39.players standing still. Defoe is you can with aing away he is thinking -

:24:40. > :24:44.Danny Graham can't do anything with that. He makes a run inside. Beats

:24:45. > :24:48.all of those players. Takes him out of the game. Decent ball in, quality

:24:49. > :24:52.finish. If Aston Villa are going to defend like that as a team, once

:24:53. > :24:57.they have worked hard to get back into it, they have no chance.

:24:58. > :25:01.Richards was upset with Wright for criticising him and the back four

:25:02. > :25:04.two or three days ago. They are making mistake after mistake every

:25:05. > :25:08.single game. They have to accept criticism. As for Sunderland, well,

:25:09. > :25:13.you know, gives them some kind of hope. I suppose there are must win

:25:14. > :25:19.games and there are must win games. This was a must win game Definitely.

:25:20. > :25:22.They held their nerve, as Sam said. Swansea away, not an end to their

:25:23. > :25:23.problems. It gives them hope. They still have to buy in January. No

:25:24. > :25:27.doubt about that. Certainly do. Arsenal began the day on top

:25:28. > :25:30.of the table after four wins Opponents Newcastle arrived

:25:31. > :25:34.at the Emirates in the bottom three Your commentator

:25:35. > :25:42.was Simon Brotherton. Arsenal go into had the new year

:25:48. > :25:51.thing up that counts happens in May and 2016 has golden opportunity rid

:26:08. > :26:12.out. Elliot had to pull out of the of the game on Monday against West

:26:13. > :26:17.Brom with a stomach upset heaven is fit to return today. Tiote replace

:26:18. > :26:25.ares the injured Anita in midfield. Both teams are wearing black

:26:26. > :26:30.armbands today paying their respects to the late PavelSrnicek who 20

:26:31. > :26:34.years ago today kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Arsenal that took

:26:35. > :26:39.Newcastle seven points clear at the top of the table. Arsenal

:26:40. > :26:43.predictably good at home for the most part. Lost that opening home

:26:44. > :26:50.match of the season to West Ham by 2-0. They have taken 19 points from

:26:51. > :26:57.a possible 21 since then in front of their own fans. Bellerin is away.

:26:58. > :27:06.Arsenal threatening. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain unable to turn it

:27:07. > :27:11.home. Interestingly, Steve McClaren has changed things around today with

:27:12. > :27:15.Wijnaldum playing in the centre and Perez starting on the Newcastle

:27:16. > :27:16.left. Perez and Dummett finding it tough in the opening two minutes

:27:17. > :27:32.already. That brings a save from Cech.

:27:33. > :27:35.Lay-off to Colback. A straight-forward save for the

:27:36. > :27:40.Arsenal goalkeeper in the end. The first threat, in an taking sense,

:27:41. > :27:45.from Newcastle here. Trying to guide that header home. Colback not really

:27:46. > :27:48.getting hold of it. The last three Premier League meetings between

:27:49. > :27:53.these two sides here have including 18 goals. We are still awaiting our

:27:54. > :28:01.first this time. Here comes Oxlade-Chamberlain. Away from Tiote.

:28:02. > :28:09.In to Giroud. The deflection takes it behind. Fortunately for Newcastle

:28:10. > :28:13.not into the back of his own net. Showed in matches against Liverpool

:28:14. > :28:15.and Tottenham that Newcastle can raise their game against some of the

:28:16. > :28:29.so-called bigger sides. The header from Bellerin. Mitrovic.

:28:30. > :28:35.Attempted improvisation from the Serbian striker. Comfortable for

:28:36. > :28:40.Cech. You have to say it's Newcastle who are finishing the first half the

:28:41. > :28:52.stronger of the two here. Perez. Colback steaming forward. Wijnaldum.

:28:53. > :28:56.Trying to tee it up. Cut out by Ramsey. Wijnaldum with a chance.

:28:57. > :29:01.Saved by Cech. Ramsey slicing that one. It fell to the Dutch man who,

:29:02. > :29:09.suddenly with a snapshot, brought a save from the Arsenal goalkeeper.

:29:10. > :29:14.Here's Ramsey. Hurried into the path by Tiote. Now, here comes Perez for

:29:15. > :29:19.Newcastle. Great move here by Wijnaldum. What a chance for 1-0.

:29:20. > :29:22.Superb save by Petr Cech. My goodness me, it needed to be as

:29:23. > :29:29.well. That was excellent play from Newcastle. Not for the first time

:29:30. > :29:33.this season, Petr Cech showing just how valuable an acquisition he has

:29:34. > :29:38.been for Arsenal. Early second-half save to deny Wijnaldum. It's really

:29:39. > :29:45.opening up here at the start of this second-half. Sissoko with a chance

:29:46. > :29:50.to run at Monreal. Now, Perez into Mitrovic. Really good chance, again.

:29:51. > :29:57.Two in the space of a couple of minutes here. Right at the start of

:29:58. > :30:02.the second-half. Newcastle posing a real threat. Mitrovic sending it

:30:03. > :30:16.wide. Ramsey finding Mesut Ozil. Looking

:30:17. > :30:21.for Ramsey again. Trying to squeeze it past Rob Elliot, the Newcastle

:30:22. > :30:26.goalkeeper. He was able to get down quickly and get his hands on it. If

:30:27. > :30:31.Arsenal are going to win this game they have two up it a little bit in

:30:32. > :30:35.the second half. Ozil, away from Tiote this time. Now Bellerin. This

:30:36. > :30:40.looks a little bit better. It will be a corner. The first five or ten

:30:41. > :30:44.minutes promised so much from Arsenal's point of view but so far

:30:45. > :30:51.in this game, it has been some way short of vintage. Ozil with the

:30:52. > :30:56.kick. Coloccini up with Giroud. Koscielny is in! Almost from

:30:57. > :31:04.nothing, Arsenal go ahead. Laurent Koscielny scores against Newcastle

:31:05. > :31:09.as he has done into the previous three seasons. Coloccini beaten in

:31:10. > :31:12.the air. -- in two of the previous three seasons. It dropped inside the

:31:13. > :31:17.penalty area, Perez seemingly unaware that Koscielny was right

:31:18. > :31:21.behind, beaten to the ball. Look at this as stretches. The feeling of

:31:22. > :31:28.relief as much as excitement around the vast majority of the Emirates.

:31:29. > :31:32.Laurent Koscielny with the goal. For the most part, Newcastle have looked

:31:33. > :31:34.pretty comfortable in this game. Their red temps at frustrating the

:31:35. > :31:37.home side were clearly working during the second half but they are

:31:38. > :31:40.going to have to come out now. Thauvin. Waiting for Wijnaldum to

:31:41. > :31:51.join him. Ayoze Perez into Mitrovic! A little

:31:52. > :31:57.reminder, there, for Arsenal that the points are not in the bag yet.

:31:58. > :31:59.Just under ten minutes to go. At this moment in time, Arsenal not

:32:00. > :32:13.really enjoying themselves. Giroud. Campbell, hustling and bustling,

:32:14. > :32:18.into Ramsey, finding the space but denied by Elliot. Good save by the

:32:19. > :32:25.Newcastle keeper. Arsenal, looking for a late second. Eliot able to

:32:26. > :32:31.make the save from Ramsey. Until that goal, his side were looking

:32:32. > :32:35.decent for a point. Still time. Arsenal, a little anxious, you.

:32:36. > :32:41.Wijnaldum waits for the return which does not reach him. Arsenal get it

:32:42. > :32:49.clear to Aaron Ramsey. He looks for the run-off Ozil. Mbemba going

:32:50. > :32:53.across with him. -- run of ozone. Ramsey, faced by Coloccini. Great

:32:54. > :32:59.chance for two. Just wide of the post. It has not been vintage

:33:00. > :33:03.Arsenal today. Frustration for Newcastle, who were really in this

:33:04. > :33:05.game but Arsenal edging it. Three more points in their quest for the

:33:06. > :33:14.title. We were not at our best day, we know

:33:15. > :33:17.that and we had to be deep but we can dig deep when it is needed. On

:33:18. > :33:22.top of that, I must say, we played against a good team. Newcastle is a

:33:23. > :33:25.good side. You know with the kind of game that Newcastle today, because

:33:26. > :33:29.they are right down there, the confidences may be missing a bit but

:33:30. > :33:33.they will not stay down there. New played well today. I'm scratching my

:33:34. > :33:37.head how we've come away with nothing. We did not just play well,

:33:38. > :33:41.we played very well, not many teams can come here and control the game

:33:42. > :33:45.and dominate possession at times as we did and still defended well and

:33:46. > :33:48.still created chances. But you win and lose the game on what happens in

:33:49. > :33:57.both boxes and at one end, we failed to score despite some great chances

:33:58. > :34:00.and at the other, it was a soft goal. A good chance to say to the

:34:01. > :34:03.forwards, "That is how to do it". You know, we need to stay focused.

:34:04. > :34:08.Most important is the team win. I'm happy with the goal but we need to

:34:09. > :34:13.stay in first position. A vital win for Arsenal, no question about it.

:34:14. > :34:18.But Newcastle, your team, could have had something out of it and perhaps

:34:19. > :34:22.should have had. They should have and it's widely recognised that to

:34:23. > :34:24.win the Premier League you need the top-class goalkeeper and Arsenal

:34:25. > :34:29.have without doubt got one of those now. We said at the beginning of the

:34:30. > :34:33.season that he is worth 10-12 point at least. He played a massive part

:34:34. > :34:36.in getting them three points today. A lot better from Newcastle today.

:34:37. > :34:38.They played well and created chances and took the game to Arsenal and

:34:39. > :34:46.should have got something out of it. A constant threat, particularly down

:34:47. > :34:51.the right, causing problems all afternoon. Good ball in, good header

:34:52. > :34:59.by Wijnaldum, good save by Petr Cech. Again, ball into the box. A

:35:00. > :35:02.mistake but look how quick he is out there, closing down Wijnaldum.

:35:03. > :35:09.Again, great pressing on the halfway line and they crafted the chance.

:35:10. > :35:11.Superb, good ball in but look how quickly Petr Cech comes off his

:35:12. > :35:17.line. Wijnaldum should do better, maybe should score, perhaps dink it

:35:18. > :35:22.but give credit to a top-class goalkeeper, he was superb. Again,

:35:23. > :35:26.the far post ball to Perez and Mitrovic cannot sort his feet out, a

:35:27. > :35:29.massive jobs. We are sat in the office, thinking Newcastle are going

:35:30. > :35:32.to get punished for the chances they missed and they did. Perez goes to

:35:33. > :35:38.sleep on the set piece and they lose the first ball and he is quicker

:35:39. > :35:41.than Perez to the ball. It is a good finish but it is a good sign for

:35:42. > :35:46.Arsenal as well. They don't play well but they get three points. How

:35:47. > :35:49.important as a defender is it, what kind of confidence does it give you

:35:50. > :35:54.to have a great goalkeeper behind you? It makes a huge difference.

:35:55. > :35:58.Looking back, David Seaman was the best goalkeeper I played with Andy

:35:59. > :36:02.won many trophies. Petr Cech, going to Arsenal with the confidence and

:36:03. > :36:07.present and being so calm, he reads the game very well, it allows

:36:08. > :36:10.offenders to take a good position. On two occasions, he's come off his

:36:11. > :36:14.line and close down space between defenders and himself and when you

:36:15. > :36:17.have that reliability and faith in your goalkeeper, you can focus on

:36:18. > :36:20.what is in front of you because you know years covering what is behind

:36:21. > :36:23.you. That makes all the difference and could be, as Alan says, the

:36:24. > :36:28.difference between winning the league and in other years maybe not.

:36:29. > :36:33.While on the subject of goalkeepers, the sad news, the passing of

:36:34. > :36:39.powerful Srna check. You played with him at Newcastle. -- powerful Srna

:36:40. > :36:43.check. I played with him and he was a great professional, worked ever so

:36:44. > :36:45.hard and loved the people of Newcastle without doubt and they

:36:46. > :36:48.loved him. A terribly sad loss. It was six league games

:36:49. > :36:51.without a win for Manchester United going into today's game

:36:52. > :36:53.against Swansea, who arrived at Old Trafford having not conceded

:36:54. > :37:02.in their last three matches. Louis van Gaal has admitted he may

:37:03. > :37:05.look for a fresh striking option this month but put his faith in top

:37:06. > :37:09.scorer Anthony Martial again and Wayne Rooney, who only has two goals

:37:10. > :37:12.in his last 21 Premier League matches the two of them have just

:37:13. > :37:19.six league goals between them this season. Ki has scored in Swansea's

:37:20. > :37:22.last two victories over Manchester United and he is one of seven

:37:23. > :37:29.changes from the team that drew with Crystal Palace.

:37:30. > :37:38.Can Manchester United start as they did against Chelsea? Martial. Early

:37:39. > :37:44.from Rooney, looking for Mata, cleared by Williams. Ashley Young

:37:45. > :37:48.assesses the situation, straight back in and it comes through to

:37:49. > :37:53.Rooney. Martial wants it in but Rooney went alone and only found the

:37:54. > :37:57.side netting. It came through to Rooney and look at Martial, opening

:37:58. > :38:03.his arms, demanding it, totally a marked. Fabianski had it covered. --

:38:04. > :38:07.unmarked. Louis van Gaal's team have gone eight games without a win in

:38:08. > :38:10.all competitions. The last time Manchester United went nine without

:38:11. > :38:16.a win was very early in that man's career, back in 1988.

:38:17. > :38:27.Rooney, trying to find Young. Succeeding. Early cross from Young.

:38:28. > :38:35.Rooney! A little unlucky. Mooring courage in from Manchester United's

:38:36. > :38:37.point of view. -- more encouraging. He has certainly steadied the

:38:38. > :38:43.Swansea ship since stepping into the breach. Five points from 12. The

:38:44. > :38:47.final few seconds of stoppage time at the end of the first half. It

:38:48. > :38:50.would be a perfect time for Manchester United to school. Young

:38:51. > :38:56.with the delivery and ready's had about to close to Fabianski. Yet

:38:57. > :39:07.again, it is a goalless half from Manchester United's point of view.

:39:08. > :39:11.Schweinsteiger. Young. Just to stronger Schweinsteiger but he still

:39:12. > :39:16.recover the situation. Young, just over Rooney. Martial! Less than two

:39:17. > :39:23.minutes into the second half, Anthony Martial with the

:39:24. > :39:28.breakthrough. It is a most welcome one around Old Trafford. No surprise

:39:29. > :39:32.that Ashley Young was involved, too strong for Rooney but it did not put

:39:33. > :39:34.off the Frenchman. He watched it and headed it into the ground and passed

:39:35. > :39:47.Fabianski. There is the reaction. Swansea will have to change their

:39:48. > :39:53.attitude now. A team that have scored only two goals in their last

:39:54. > :39:59.six games. Sigurdsson. Trying to curl it into Ayew! Against the post.

:40:00. > :40:05.Rangel. He goes down. He is going to be shown the yellow card for diving.

:40:06. > :40:09.What a 20 seconds that was full Swansea. He got in between the two

:40:10. > :40:13.defenders and David de Gea was beaten. Rangel, going down to

:40:14. > :40:17.easily. He was shown the yellow card.

:40:18. > :40:30.Routledge. Rangel. Promising full Swansea. Barrow, taking on Darmian.

:40:31. > :40:35.-- for Swansea. Get the cross in as well, there is the header! And there

:40:36. > :40:38.is the equaliser! Gylfi Sigurdsson at Old Trafford again, the man who

:40:39. > :40:45.got the winning goal in this fixture last season. It was well worked as

:40:46. > :40:49.well. A lot of credit to Modou Barrow, the substitute, did really

:40:50. > :40:55.well to get this across. A little cushion header from Sigurdsson did

:40:56. > :41:02.the rest. Another shock to the system. There's been plenty of those

:41:03. > :41:06.in the last few weeks. Barrow. Darmian will have to be

:41:07. > :41:12.quick to keep up with him. Cut out by Blind but a poor clearance.

:41:13. > :41:15.Sigurdsson again and still. Terrific block from Smalling. Ayew.

:41:16. > :41:28.Sigurdsson can't get it under control. Ki. We are in for some last

:41:29. > :41:34.18 minutes, now. Darmian's header. Schweinsteiger. Little bit of space

:41:35. > :41:42.for Martial. He is around Fernandez. Can he pull it back? Rooney! The

:41:43. > :41:46.captain on the scoresheet, to restore Manchester United's lead.

:41:47. > :41:56.And in doing so, he scores his 188th Premier League goal, outright second

:41:57. > :41:58.now behind Alan Shearer, and is 238th Manchester United goal,

:41:59. > :42:03.outright second, all-time behind Sir Bobby Charlton. But more importantly

:42:04. > :42:08.from a team perspective, Manchester United in front again. Martial

:42:09. > :42:11.scored the first and has provided the second and what a finish from

:42:12. > :42:19.Rooney, just when it was required. Martial has a look and look at that

:42:20. > :42:25.from Rooney. He has had his critics but that is a genius moment and one

:42:26. > :42:31.that Manchester United needed, as he edges closer to that man's record

:42:32. > :42:35.for the club, now. Manchester United, sitting that little bit

:42:36. > :42:39.deeper. Swansea can send this in and they will with Fernandez. Williams.

:42:40. > :42:49.Shooting opportunity! Terrific save from de Gea. Ashley Williams, of all

:42:50. > :42:54.people. Yet again, Manchester United have de Gea to thank. Jon Moss has a

:42:55. > :43:01.look at his watch. This has got to go straight back in from Fabianski.

:43:02. > :43:07.Fernandez did not get there. It is a corner. There might just be one more

:43:08. > :43:13.piece of defending for Manchester United to do. Fabianski is forward.

:43:14. > :43:19.The last kick of the game, in from Sigurdsson. Fabianski with the

:43:20. > :43:25.header! And he was not too far-away, either. He could not find the

:43:26. > :43:29.target. Relief all around Old Trafford, because Manchester United

:43:30. > :43:34.have new fortune in the New Year. Louis van Gaal said he wanted the

:43:35. > :43:39.smiles back on faces. Wayne Rooney, his captain, has provided those

:43:40. > :43:41.smiles. For the first time since the 21st of November, Manchester United

:43:42. > :43:50.have won in the Premier League. We played with a lot of space in the

:43:51. > :43:54.back but I think we did it very well. We created a lot of chances in

:43:55. > :44:02.the first half but we did not score. That is our problem. When we scored,

:44:03. > :44:07.it was in the second half, and there was no problem any more. That was

:44:08. > :44:12.the difference today, two beautiful goals. I think we were a bit

:44:13. > :44:15.disappointed in the first half, we did not capable, especially the

:44:16. > :44:19.shape of the team, you expect to keep the ball bit better. But I

:44:20. > :44:22.thought in the second half especially, we grew into the game

:44:23. > :44:27.and in the end, we were probably a bit unlucky to lose. I think we have

:44:28. > :44:31.shown in the last couple of weeks how we are attacking, going forward,

:44:32. > :44:34.creating chances, especially today, we created many chances that on

:44:35. > :44:38.another day, we would have scored more but important to get the three

:44:39. > :44:42.points today and we did it. We have got the cup next week and then a

:44:43. > :44:46.massive game against Sunderland. I could be in charge or someone could

:45:11. > :45:14.hope we can continue against Sheffield United. Good analysis from

:45:15. > :45:20.Louis Van Gaal, not usual that goalkeepers score! A win and two

:45:21. > :45:22.goals on the scoresheet for more than the year. Things are looking

:45:23. > :45:38.positive for Manchester United. Martial and Rooney spending more

:45:39. > :45:41.time in box as you have to do to score goals. That was them against

:45:42. > :45:45.Leicester, not good enough. Will you not score a lot of goals if that

:45:46. > :45:49.continues. I thought the linkup play, as I said, was a lot better.

:45:50. > :45:54.He took it off Rooney. It was positive. Martial, in particular,

:45:55. > :45:58.was prepared to pick up the ball and run at defenders. Both of them,

:45:59. > :46:01.again, in the box there. If it didn't fall to Martial, it falls to

:46:02. > :46:06.Rooney. He is positive. An effort at goal. This is brilliant. I think a

:46:07. > :46:10.few weeks ago he goes side ways here, but, no, he's prepared to run

:46:11. > :46:13.at the defence. Give and go, linkup. Should hit that with his left foot

:46:14. > :46:17.across the goalkeeper. Superb ball into the box. Look at both of them.

:46:18. > :46:24.Doesn't fall to Rooney. It falls to Martial. It's a superb header. A

:46:25. > :46:27.goal. They are back in the goalscoring charts, where they

:46:28. > :46:32.should be. Again, positive. Linkup well. That is sublime from Wayne

:46:33. > :46:37.Rooney. Left foot, sublime it really is. Helps when the team attacks Yes

:46:38. > :46:41.it is. Everyone picks up off that. Martial is more positive. Rooney is

:46:42. > :46:44.more positive instead of passing balls square they are running at

:46:45. > :46:50.defenders and asking questions of the defenders. We see the graphic,

:46:51. > :46:53.which you insisted on! We will be glad when Rooney gets ahead now. We

:46:54. > :47:00.won't show that again for ever, hopefully. Didn't have three serious

:47:07. > :47:11.Swansea have steadied the ship under Curtice, haven't they? Do you think

:47:12. > :47:15.he will get the job Does he have a chance, should he have a chance?

:47:16. > :47:18.Three unbeaten ahead of today. It's important that they make a

:47:19. > :47:22.commitment to him, at least until the end of the season, for the

:47:23. > :47:26.players to buy into what he is trying to do. The thing with

:47:27. > :47:29.Swansea, they play very well. They have excellent creative players.

:47:30. > :47:33.Obviously, they are being looking vulnerable. If Fabianski could only

:47:34. > :47:36.work on his heading more in training they could have equalised with the

:50:17. > :50:24.Antonio - 1-0! Great ball in. Tenth minute of the game. Michail Antonio

:50:25. > :50:31.with the header. Great ball in here. It's a really good header. Brilliant

:50:32. > :50:37.ball in from Valencia. Michail Antonio, who second earlier snuffed

:50:38. > :50:40.out Liverpool's attack with a terrific challenge on Moreno. He

:50:41. > :50:47.heads West Ham in front. Well, this was the challenge by Antonio, which

:50:48. > :50:52.won the ball back from Moreno. He felt he was fouled here. Did he get

:50:53. > :50:58.the ball or was it onto Moreno's foot onto the ball, possibly the

:50:59. > :51:02.later. Play went on. Moreno never recovered. They haven't lost here

:51:03. > :51:08.since way back in August when they were on the wrong end of a seven

:51:09. > :51:16.goal thriller against Bournemouth. Lanzini. Oh, right back off the

:51:17. > :51:22.post. The movement on the shot from Lanzini was fantastic. It left

:51:23. > :51:26.Mignolet completely non-plussed. So unlucky. Cresswell into the bobbing.

:51:27. > :51:31.That's dangerous, too. Just over the top of the bar from the flying

:51:32. > :51:35.Antonio. Liverpool are very lucky they're not 2-0 down here. Look at

:51:36. > :51:41.this from Lanzini. Hit it beautifully. Mignolet, moving in

:51:42. > :51:55.completely the wrong direction. Clyne. Liverpool's corner.

:51:56. > :52:02.Ibe's delivery. Too long for Sakho. Moreno's there. Lots of white shirts

:52:03. > :52:09.in the middle. Bent befrnt. Blocked by Carroll. And, oh, Firmino had it

:52:10. > :52:12.taken off his toe by Adrian. This was one of Liverpool's most

:52:13. > :52:16.dangerous moments. Header from Benteke. Then it just fell towards

:52:17. > :52:37.Firmino. Adrian was there. Might of been off a Liverpool head.

:52:38. > :52:45.Cresswell! Clyne with the block. Really well-struck by Cresswell.

:52:46. > :52:53.Forward from Coutinho, nicely to Firmino. Firmino, inside Noble,

:53:05. > :53:10.Oh, well hit. Off the woodwork. A little bit of a let-off for West

:53:11. > :53:12.Ham. This is better from Liverpool. Firmino, to Can. A good effort that.

:53:13. > :53:37.A good effort. Nice disguise. Guise Noble.

:53:38. > :53:41.Dangerous. Carroll. 2-0. Classic Andy Carroll. Great header from the

:53:42. > :53:46.big man. Liverpool have no answer. West Ham have put two quality balls

:53:47. > :53:50.into the Liverpool box in this game and they've both resulted in goals.

:53:51. > :53:57.Great header from Carroll. The man at the back post, beaten in the air.

:53:58. > :54:06.Simply steers it into the back of the Liverpool net. The explosion of

:54:07. > :54:11.celebration begins. Here's Aaron Cresswell, Payet outside him. Here

:54:12. > :54:16.he is. Nicely done. Cresswell, Payet wants the return. He won't get it -

:54:17. > :54:23.Carroll will. Off the line. Oh, and into the gloves of Mignolet. What a

:54:24. > :54:26.let-off for Liverpool. Twice could so easily have been a third.

:54:27. > :54:40.Terrific stuff. Under pressure, Noble, Tomkins

:54:41. > :54:48.helping him out. Free-kick goes Liverpool's way.

:54:49. > :54:56.It's Lallana's ball in. That was dangerous. Good delivery. Collins

:54:57. > :55:02.getting it behind for the corner. Whipped in with pace, bending in

:55:03. > :55:10.towards goal. Corner kick is floated in. A free header, off the line,

:55:11. > :55:16.Lucas denied. Smith then hits it. Mark Noble, on the line, Lucas

:55:17. > :55:22.denied. Goal saving stop here from Mark Noble. Flicked on by Can.

:55:23. > :55:31.Lucas. Thinking he got his name on the scoresheet here, but Mark Noble

:55:32. > :55:34.was there. Lovren trying to take it from Payet. Might be a break on

:55:35. > :55:38.here. Payet, if he had gets this right, he can open Liverpool up.

:55:39. > :55:48.Kouyate, off down the middle. Saved by Mignolet. Lifted away by Clyne.

:55:49. > :55:50.Good break by West Ham. There has been more fizz, energy, pace and

:55:51. > :56:07.invention about them all afternoon. Can finding Coutinho. A free header

:56:08. > :56:14.for Joe Allen, which is just wide. Just wide. A real chance this for

:56:15. > :56:22.Joe Allen. Couldn't steer it into the back of the net. We could have

:56:23. > :56:25.scored more. We kept a clean sheet against Liverpool at home. It's

:56:26. > :56:31.brilliant for fans and it's brilliant start to the new year. Of

:56:32. > :56:39.course, we are happy today. It's not a day for being disappointed. It's a

:56:40. > :56:43.day of being angry with ourselves. We had first situation I don't know.

:56:44. > :56:49.I don't know if it was a you will for not. I couldn't see. We have to

:56:50. > :56:55.react differently iechl' really, really angry today because which

:56:56. > :56:57.could have got so much more today. You got your first goal against

:56:58. > :57:01.Southampton. You didn't know an awful lot about that. You knew about

:57:02. > :57:08.this one? Definitely. First goal was a bit of a, I say, a bit of luck.

:57:09. > :57:12.Got the back post and headed it in. Got the first goal. Hopefully I can

:57:13. > :57:18.keep the run going. It seems like one week you are very good and the

:57:19. > :57:26.neck week you are really quite poor? I don't think so, but in a situation

:57:27. > :57:30.like this in your job you can say what you want. We have to accept it.

:57:31. > :57:34.Gracefully as well, may I say. Brilliant performance from West Ham.

:57:35. > :57:39.Played great football to boot, didn't they? I thought they battered

:57:40. > :57:43.Liverpool, to be honest. Thoroughly deserved the point. Should have

:57:44. > :57:48.scored more points. The fist goal, yes, was a free-kick, but there was

:57:49. > :57:55.still a hell of a lot of work to be done This is the first goal. Just

:57:56. > :57:58.watch Moreno and Benteke. The theme is about getting the ball into the

:57:59. > :58:01.box and Benteke getting in there. If Benteke is in there, he will cross

:58:02. > :58:07.that. He stays short for some reason. Moreno doesn't. As I said,

:58:08. > :58:13.it is a foul, but Antonio makes the challenge. The way he gets up, it

:58:14. > :58:18.shows great attitude to get into the box. They hit them on the

:58:19. > :58:23.counter-attack. 50 yards already. They have now got five v four. They

:58:24. > :58:29.work it down that right hand side superbly well. We spoke about the

:58:30. > :58:34.cross in the Manchester City game. This is equally good. Mentioned

:58:35. > :58:38.Antonio. Look where he is now. Hit the far-post, made the tackle, ran

:58:39. > :58:46.the full length of the pitch. Brilliant ball. Superb header.

:58:47. > :58:50.Moreno gets his right foot down there, in between Antonio. You can

:58:51. > :58:55.see the reaction. The work that West Ham did to get that goal summed

:58:56. > :59:00.their afternoon up. They were They certainly were fantastic. .

:59:01. > :59:03.Christian Benteke, it chateau start to his career at Liverpool snfrnl I

:59:04. > :59:07.mentioned him a few days ago. Getting into the box his main

:59:08. > :59:13.strength, a great strength it is. It heading the ball. I fancied him

:59:14. > :59:18.against most defenders. I don't why he goes short and hanging out. Get

:59:19. > :59:22.into the box and be a menace and be a threat and cause problems instead

:59:23. > :59:28.of hanging on the edge of the box. You will get more goals by getting

:59:29. > :59:32.in there. In his defence, this time, if Can hangs that ball up there I

:59:33. > :59:35.would fancy him against anyone, against Collins. It doesn't have to

:59:36. > :59:40.go in every time. They lose the ball. The forward is frustrated.

:59:41. > :59:44.Stops making his runs. This is the same move. Goes out to the left hand

:59:45. > :59:49.side. Look at him. Because the cross didn't come in, he goes short again.

:59:50. > :59:52.The defender is now looking to put the ball in, Benteke is not in the

:59:53. > :59:57.box there. If he hangs that up. In contrast, West Ham got someone who

:59:58. > :00:02.is superb in the air, Andy Carroll, and Antonio. What do they do,

:00:03. > :00:06.Cresswell, hang it up, put it into the ball. Good ball in and header.

:00:07. > :00:09.Andy Carroll, the right hand side much he can attack the near-post or

:00:10. > :00:14.go out and hang it at the far-post. He does just that. Superb ball in,

:00:15. > :00:18.again. What a header that is. Similar to Aguero's header? Doesn't

:00:19. > :00:22.have to go in every time. When it does, he is a hes pest and a

:00:23. > :00:27.nuisance that is what Benteke has to do if he is to be a success at

:00:28. > :00:31.Liverpool. They have to understand that also as Liverpool players and

:00:32. > :00:33.staff. To get the best out of him they have to put balls in the box. I

:00:34. > :00:36.hope they are watching. West Brom picked up

:00:37. > :00:39.a first win in six games They faced a Stoke side who took

:00:40. > :00:42.maximum points over Christmas with victories against

:00:43. > :00:59.Manchester United and Everton. The first and arrest obtain Pulis's

:01:00. > :01:04.appointments eating up against its former club. Lambert starts. It's

:01:05. > :01:09.been a good season for Darren Fletcher, you got the winner against

:01:10. > :01:13.Newcastle. Xherdan Shaqiri, fresh from scoring two in the victory of

:01:14. > :01:17.Everton. Ibrahim Affellay was sent off in the Debaty West Brom in

:01:18. > :01:20.August, as was Charlie Adam. The Baggies, looking for their third

:01:21. > :01:25.consecutive win over Stoke but goals might be few and far between. Just

:01:26. > :01:30.eight goals in the last seven Premier League matches between these

:01:31. > :01:34.two teams, though. Morrison has made the move forward. Fletcher has

:01:35. > :01:37.Sessegnon wide. Sessegnon thought about the first-time ball in but

:01:38. > :01:43.when the corner. It comes off Pieters. Plenty of confrontations,

:01:44. > :01:49.here, and challenges already Mason to try to keep an eye on. Driven

:01:50. > :01:53.indie and turned across! Almost turned in at the near post. What a

:01:54. > :01:58.chance for West Brom to take the lead. Evans with the final touch. He

:01:59. > :02:04.could not quite turn it in. They're ready no once again on the bench for

:02:05. > :02:12.Brom. -- Berahino once again. Affellay. Johnson. Looking to take

:02:13. > :02:16.on Chris Brunt. Glen Johnson with the shot! Pushed away by Boaz Myhill

:02:17. > :02:20.and Fletcher scrambles it clear. That shot from Glen Johnson had

:02:21. > :02:31.plenty of swerve on it. But away by Boaz Myhill. Kept in by Xherdan

:02:32. > :02:40.Shaqiri. Towards Arnautovic, who is onside. Arnautovic! Myhill with the

:02:41. > :02:44.save. Seven goals for Arnautovic so far this season but not eight on

:02:45. > :02:49.that occasion. Sessegnon, advancing forward. And brought down.

:02:50. > :02:56.Arnautovic with the foul on the West Brom man. Approaching half-time at

:02:57. > :03:02.the Hawthorns, then. Gardner with the free kick. Too high for Lambert

:03:03. > :03:06.but it might drop for setting on. Looking to set up a team-mate in the

:03:07. > :03:11.middle. Fletcher! What a chance for Darren Fletcher to score the two

:03:12. > :03:13.matches in succession. Look at how much room he has, aiming for the top

:03:14. > :03:25.corner but well off target. Cameron. Finding Johnson on the far

:03:26. > :03:30.side. In towards Arnautovic. Lovely flick. Shaqiri could not provide the

:03:31. > :03:38.finish. Terrific move from Stoke. What a great touch that is to set up

:03:39. > :03:42.Shaqiri. Mark Hughes' side have a pretty decent away record so far

:03:43. > :03:47.this season in the perennially, four wins, four draw than two defeats on

:03:48. > :03:50.their travels. Arnautovic. Dispossessed by McAuley. Pieters

:03:51. > :03:59.picks up for the visitors. Here comes Fletcher, now. Morrison.

:04:00. > :04:09.Sessegnon, great chance and a great goal! What a finish from Stephane

:04:10. > :04:13.Houdet Sessegnon. And West Brom, in this match that has been played very

:04:14. > :04:19.much on an attritional basis so far, get the opening goal. Fletcher

:04:20. > :04:23.charging forward, here. Keep your eyes on Sessegnon at the bottom of

:04:24. > :04:30.the picture, with defenders sucked in field, he had room to control and

:04:31. > :04:39.pick his spot and he chose to at salute perfection. -- absolute

:04:40. > :04:45.perfection. Evans. Morrison leaving it. Gardner. In towards Lambert, who

:04:46. > :04:52.has Wollscheid the company. Lambert able to hold up, driven across. Half

:04:53. > :05:00.away by Pieters. Fletcher into the Stoke fans behind the goal. Much

:05:01. > :05:06.better from West Brom. Just sat up a little too high for Darren Fletcher.

:05:07. > :05:11.Tony Pulis has never lost in this fixture. Is that one going to

:05:12. > :05:16.continue today? Morrison, in towards Rickie Lambert. He was onside. The

:05:17. > :05:21.flag stayed down but Lambert could not control the ball and advance.

:05:22. > :05:27.That was definitely a chance for West Brom to get a second. He is

:05:28. > :05:32.just onside, Lambert but Stoke manage to recover the scenario.

:05:33. > :05:37.Turning into one of those afternoons for Mark Hughes and Stoke. As West

:05:38. > :05:43.Brom edge closer to doing the double this season over the Potters.

:05:44. > :05:46.Joselu. The keeper shouted for it but did not get it and Jonathan

:05:47. > :05:51.Walters did! It was a really clear shout from Boaz Myhill. It was left

:05:52. > :05:56.by the defenders and Jonathan Walters pops up to get the

:05:57. > :05:59.equaliser. Just moments after Rickie Lambert had a chance at one end,

:06:00. > :06:07.Stoke take the opportunity at the other. Joselu with the ball in. Look

:06:08. > :06:12.at the run that Jonathan Walters makes, in between the defenders,

:06:13. > :06:20.nobody goes with him and in the end, it is a relatively simple header.

:06:21. > :06:28.Stoke with three in a line in a central striking trio. Cameron with

:06:29. > :06:34.a coming together, there. This is going to be a red card for Geoff

:06:35. > :06:42.Cameron, for the foul on Claudio Yacob! Stoke City, having just got

:06:43. > :06:45.back on level terms, are a man down. The USA international become the

:06:46. > :06:52.third Stoke player to be sent off against West Brom this season. That

:06:53. > :06:57.is the reason, Yacob goes down. There's a bit of wrestling, there.

:06:58. > :07:02.But the referee saw it as a red card offence by Geoff Cameron. Can his

:07:03. > :07:08.side take advantage of their man advantage in the little time that is

:07:09. > :07:13.left? Morrison. Steps away from Adam. Can't get the shot away first

:07:14. > :07:19.time but does for the second time. Fletcher. Bodies just throwing

:07:20. > :07:24.themselves in the way of the ball and in the end, it is a corner.

:07:25. > :07:27.Stoke won with a late goal at Everton on Monday, desperate not to

:07:28. > :07:33.concede a late goal on Saturday. McManaman. Turned on into the six

:07:34. > :07:41.yard area and turned in for the winner! Jonny Evans! So many bodies

:07:42. > :07:45.in the penalty area but it fell nicely for the West Brom defender

:07:46. > :07:55.and Jonny Evans gets his first goal for The Baggies. Easy onside? Oh,

:07:56. > :08:01.most definitely. West Brom restore their one goal advantage. Tony Pulis

:08:02. > :08:02.keeps up his unbeaten record in this fixture. West Brom do the double

:08:03. > :08:10.over Stoke. We thought we played all right first

:08:11. > :08:14.half and we were pleased with the lads. It is a hard Christmas. The

:08:15. > :08:18.result against a Stoke side that have been flying, with real quality

:08:19. > :08:22.in their team, yes, we are very pleased. You have just equalised and

:08:23. > :08:27.then Geoff Cameron is sent off, what is your view on the decision? He got

:08:28. > :08:32.caught late by the lad, Yacob, and he has basically the guy. I'm not

:08:33. > :08:36.too pleased with the reaction of the player himself, to be honest. I

:08:37. > :08:39.think he overreacted and tried to get our players sent off which he

:08:40. > :08:44.succeeded in doing which made it more difficult for us. But we should

:08:45. > :08:47.have seen the game out, even with a man less. Mark Hughes was not happy

:08:48. > :08:55.so let's look at the sending off. What is your view? As soon as you

:08:56. > :09:00.raise your hand towards someone's head, you give the referee and easy

:09:01. > :09:03.decision. There is contact there in terms of Yacob colliding with

:09:04. > :09:07.Cameron but it is that reaction. I'm guilty of doing it myself a couple

:09:08. > :09:11.of times, just frustrated. It is easy for the referee but I have to

:09:12. > :09:15.say, Yacob makes the most of it as well. You can see it from this

:09:16. > :09:18.angle, he treads on his foot and goes down very easily but then as a

:09:19. > :09:24.sly look from underneath his elbow which suggests he knows exact you

:09:25. > :09:27.what he's doing. It's pathetic, going down holding your head like

:09:28. > :09:31.that as though you been poleaxed. Not a lot of contact at all. But it

:09:32. > :09:37.gives the referee the excuse and he walks into the trap. Tony Pulis, 12

:09:38. > :09:43.months and West Brom, 38 games, 52 points, you would take that.

:09:44. > :09:47.Absolutely, and he is on course, 26 after 20 games this season so he is

:09:48. > :09:50.on course to get 52 for the season. The goals were contrasting,

:09:51. > :09:54.Sessegnon with the first, excellent strike a well worked by West Brom.

:09:55. > :09:58.Stoke were quite deep but this finish is hit hard, the ball sits up

:09:59. > :10:03.nicely for him, and into the roof of the net. In contrast, this one is

:10:04. > :10:10.ricocheting around. By this stage, Stoke are camping in there, so many

:10:11. > :10:13.bodies. Jonny Evans Mr chance half but was the first react, there, to

:10:14. > :10:16.get his team the vital points. -- Jonny Evans missed a chance.

:10:17. > :10:19.Two wins in three had moved Norwich out of the relegation zone.

:10:20. > :10:22.Opponents Southampton failed to build on their 4-0 Boxing Day

:10:23. > :10:24.victory over Arsenal by losing at West Ham.

:10:25. > :10:32.As Norwich look for consecutive Premier League victories for the

:10:33. > :10:37.first time since May, 2013, Gary O'Neil is recalled for Graham

:10:38. > :10:41.Dorrans. As a former Pompey favourite, he can expect a warm

:10:42. > :10:45.reception from the Southampton fans. I wonder what their reaction will be

:10:46. > :10:50.to Sadio Mane being dropped to the bench after being late for a team

:10:51. > :10:55.meeting? He is replaced by James Ward-Prowse, with Jordy Clasie in

:10:56. > :11:02.for the suspended Oriol Romeu. Norwich City starting the day three

:11:03. > :11:08.points clear of the relegation zone. Bertrand. Dusan Tadic in behind

:11:09. > :11:12.Martin. As he got something on it? In those Long! A brave header from

:11:13. > :11:16.Long under severe pressure from Declan Rudd. He might have taken a

:11:17. > :11:18.fist to the head, the Irish international but his bravery and

:11:19. > :11:26.courage almost brought the opening goal. Mbokani, beginning to get the

:11:27. > :11:31.measure of the defence. Jonny Howson might profit from the struggle. It

:11:32. > :11:35.would not quite sit for him. Jose Fonte what himself in an almighty

:11:36. > :11:40.tangle, and Houston knew he had to take it early, under pressure. A

:11:41. > :11:43.difficult half volley situation. He could not quite steer it beyond

:11:44. > :11:55.Stekelenburg into the far corner. Bertrand went in sharply but it ran

:11:56. > :12:01.invitingly for Norwich. We have not seen much of Nathan Redmond so far

:12:02. > :12:05.today. Checking inside Steven Davis. It is a lovely ball, and Russell

:12:06. > :12:12.Martin, Mbokani in the middle! But he steers it wide. It is a lovely

:12:13. > :12:15.run and movement from Norwich. Redmond's ball for Martin is

:12:16. > :12:17.delicious and the deflection off Bertrand took it towards Mbokani and

:12:18. > :12:31.he did not miss by much. Martina. Looking for Long and he has

:12:32. > :12:37.found him. Shane Long is in! Vital save from Declan Rudd. What an

:12:38. > :12:41.opportunity for Shane Long. Lovely ball in from Martina. Bassong was

:12:42. > :12:45.stretching but could not clear. Long, maybe one touch too many,

:12:46. > :12:52.perhaps. Ronald Koeman thought that was the opening goal.

:12:53. > :12:56.Bertrand's ball in and the goalkeeper stayed at home. He knew

:12:57. > :13:01.what he was doing. Terrific reflex save, to deny Shane Long again. A

:13:02. > :13:10.bit of a tete-a-tete between those two at the minute.

:13:11. > :13:17.That is a poor challenge coming in from Wanyama. That will bring the

:13:18. > :13:24.first yellow card of the afternoon. Redmond, left in a crumpled heap.

:13:25. > :13:39.Tettey. Ploughing forward. Real menace. Howson across. Mbokani! He

:13:40. > :13:44.was wide earlier, and this time, he steers it over the bar. There have

:13:45. > :13:49.been chances at both ends in the first half but neither side as yet

:13:50. > :13:54.has been able to find the killer finish. We had chances aplenty in

:13:55. > :14:06.the first half but nothing to speak of yet in the second. Missed by Long

:14:07. > :14:08.and Bennett and Tadic might be in! Well, the pressure from Russell

:14:09. > :14:13.Martin was sufficient to put the Serbian off. It would not quite sit

:14:14. > :14:18.for him and by the time it did, the angle was not favourable. The longer

:14:19. > :14:23.the game goes on, the more convinced you are that just one goal will

:14:24. > :14:28.decide the game. Oh, that is naughty from one yammer. That will be the

:14:29. > :14:34.end of his afternoon. -- from Victor Wanyama. Odjidja-Ofoe sent sprawling

:14:35. > :14:40.and Victor Wanyama knows what is coming. It is a second yellow card

:14:41. > :14:46.for him. And for the second time this season, Victor Wanyama sees

:14:47. > :14:49.red. Well, that was foolish in the extreme. Now Norwich have an extra

:14:50. > :15:11.man. Can they make it count? He added something since he came on.

:15:12. > :15:27.Stopped inside Klasnic. -- Clasie. Scuffed it. Opportunity really

:15:28. > :15:32.knocks now for Norwich. Howson. Away from Cliasie. He set up Tettey

:15:33. > :15:38.again. Tettey scores. Jubilation all around Carrow Road. The Norwich fans

:15:39. > :15:45.know the significance of that goal. Well, once the red card came for

:15:46. > :15:53.Victor Wanyama, Norwich sensed their chance. They get the better of

:15:54. > :15:58.Clasie. Tettey slides it into the top corner. Scored a lovely goal at

:15:59. > :16:06.Old Trafford before Christmas, Tettey. This one just as

:16:07. > :16:13.significant. Every bit as important. Norwich City closing in on a second

:16:14. > :16:20.success in a matter of days in front of their adoring supporters. Getting

:16:21. > :16:22.points close together and back-to-back wins is really

:16:23. > :16:25.important. I felt today we had the best opportunities in the game. You

:16:26. > :16:30.know the longer the game goes on, you worry you will not convert. Then

:16:31. > :16:34.we managed to score a fantastic goal for Tettey with his wrong foot.

:16:35. > :16:42.Yeah, really pleased. Obviously, a good pass. I just tried to do a Yaya

:16:43. > :16:46.Toure. It went in. Good goal, good win and good start of the new year.

:16:47. > :16:52.How significant was the red card for Victor Wanyama in that, do you feel?

:16:53. > :16:58.It's stupid action. Because you have to know it's not a young player.

:16:59. > :17:02.It's an experienced player. You know you have a yellow. You can't do that

:17:03. > :17:09.tackle in that position on the pitch ichlt. I'm very angry about the

:17:10. > :17:13.disciplinary reason that he was not starting. It's a shame for a

:17:14. > :17:23.football player. If you come late on a meeting, you know the rules, there

:17:24. > :17:29.is no focus and concentration and respect to the club. Strong words

:17:30. > :17:32.from Kew man there. That's right. He has a point you rarely see that in

:17:33. > :17:35.public from a manager? He is absolutely right. He must be livid

:17:36. > :17:40.for him also to come out and criticise like that. Wanyama's

:17:41. > :17:45.already had a red card this season at Bournemouth. Again, two silly

:17:46. > :17:49.bookable offences. That is, without doubt, a yellow card. The referee

:17:50. > :17:53.gets that right now. You know in your mind, you can't go into another

:17:54. > :18:03.stupid challenge like that. Going nowhere. In no trouble whatsoever.

:18:04. > :18:10.It is just stupid. 0-0 at the time. That is six defeats in eight. Mane

:18:11. > :18:14.problem as well. He has - Disciplinary problems. Transfer

:18:15. > :18:17.speculation with the two of them, Mane and Wanyama. You can't keep on

:18:18. > :18:19.selling your best players and recruiting well. It's a difficult

:18:20. > :18:27.job to keep recruiting. Certainly is. Three wins in four for Norwich.

:18:28. > :18:33.A cracking goal to boot. Wasn't it. He did a Yaya, in his own words? He

:18:34. > :18:37.did. A lovely bit of skill. Through Davis' legs. Has the presence to cut

:18:38. > :18:42.it back. Let's it run across his body. His weaker left foot as well.

:18:43. > :18:47.A side-foot. He gets underneath it. He gets a lovely clean strike on it.

:18:48. > :18:53.Plants his foot well. Fantastic strike. Unbeaten in five as well.

:18:54. > :18:54.They are playing well. Another important win for them. It certainly

:18:55. > :18:59.is. They have momentum. at Arsenal on Monday

:19:00. > :19:14.was their first in seven games. Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have

:19:15. > :19:17.had the headlines this season the contribution of Kasper Schmeichel

:19:18. > :19:23.can't be under estimated excellent on Tuesday. He is in The Foxes goal

:19:24. > :19:27.for the 200th time. Stanislas comes back in for Bournemouth after being

:19:28. > :19:32.rested are for the game at Arsenal last Monday. Five goals this season,

:19:33. > :19:34.the Cherries joint top-scorer. Pressure to keep netting comes from

:19:35. > :19:40.his young children. They correspondent him to score three or

:19:41. > :19:44.four a game. Bournemouth start 2016 with a three point cushion above the

:19:45. > :19:53.bottom three. In the sort of form that should take them clear of the

:19:54. > :19:59.drop-zone. Albrighton looking for Mahrez here. He went for something

:20:00. > :20:02.spectacular. Mahrez was being fold by Daniels. That is the confidence

:20:03. > :20:08.he has displayed in pretty much every game this season. Wonderful

:20:09. > :20:16.Italian accent makes things sound better. He has a lovely way with

:20:17. > :20:21.words, Claudio Ranieri. Over to Stanislas. Schmeichel will not get

:20:22. > :20:25.that. He's missed. An accusing look from the Leicester keeper to the

:20:26. > :20:30.defenders in front of him. Simpson leaves it. Josh King really ought to

:20:31. > :20:37.have scored. Eddie Howe described 2015 as one of the great mile stones

:20:38. > :20:41.for Bournemouth. No resting for one of English football's brightest

:20:42. > :20:51.young coaches. The ball fell for him again. A mis-kick it found Vardy. He

:20:52. > :21:01.can't find the net. This was a shot from Ulloa. Vardy onside. Just that

:21:02. > :21:10.last touch that wasn't accurate. Surman, the route back to Boruc cut

:21:11. > :21:14.off by Vardy. Ritchie. King. Away from Robert Huth. King can, can he

:21:15. > :21:21.tee up Gosling? He did. It was teed up a little too high. Gosling, right

:21:22. > :21:25.underneath it. Josh King is putting in a really good shift up front. He

:21:26. > :21:30.did brilliantly to create the chance here. Dan Gosling really should have

:21:31. > :21:35.done better with the finish. I think it hit above the boot, came off the

:21:36. > :21:37.shin and above the bar. So far, so pretty good for Eddie Howe's team

:21:38. > :21:48.though. Will not be beaten that easily.

:21:49. > :21:53.Wonderfully head lined in the match day programme, the fanstic Mr Fuchs.

:21:54. > :21:56.The ball is played over the top from Albrighton to Vardy. Threatened to

:21:57. > :22:03.leave it behind. Still the chance is on. Brilliantly saved by Boruc.

:22:04. > :22:08.Typically well timed runned by Vardy he couldn't get the ball down on his

:22:09. > :22:11.boots. When he finally did, Bournemouth defenders not close

:22:12. > :22:16.enough to prevent the shot. There was a little nick, I think, off

:22:17. > :22:24.Cook, which took it a bit further away from Boruc, and made it an even

:22:25. > :22:30.better save. Josh King off, Glenn Murray on. Fuchs with the corner.

:22:31. > :22:35.Over the top from Wes Morgan - who wonders how he has missed. Free of

:22:36. > :22:40.his marker. Left Francis behind. He didn't quite get his timing correct,

:22:41. > :22:46.in terms of when he met the ball. It has the King power crowd going. --

:22:47. > :22:50.King Power. Won back by Drinkwater. Through to Vardy. Onside. Inside of

:22:51. > :23:01.Francis. Brought down. It will be a penalty for Leicester. Will it be a

:23:02. > :23:07.red card, too? It is. Simon Francis, the Bournemouth skipper, is going.

:23:08. > :23:12.Brilliantly weighted pass. Bournemouth are in bother the minute

:23:13. > :23:17.that Vardy wins the race. Francis has a hold there. His claim is that

:23:18. > :23:21.he wrapped his leg round and wins the ball fairly and doesn't

:23:22. > :23:26.particularly impede Vardy. The referee is of a different mind and

:23:27. > :23:30.wants to give the decision hechl has to give the next one, too.

:23:31. > :23:37.Bournemouth down to ten-men. Are they about to be a goal down?

:23:38. > :23:43.Mahrez, on-the-spot again. Mahrez' efforts, saved. It wasn't a good

:23:44. > :23:48.penalty. It was a lovely height for Boruc, who gets right, beats it

:23:49. > :23:52.away. Artur Boruc, the Bournemouth hero. Goodness me, haven't we got a

:23:53. > :23:59.game on now? Still 0-0. Leicester with the extra man. Will the

:24:00. > :24:05.deadlock be broken? Mahrez. He's found a gap. There haven't been many

:24:06. > :24:12.for him today. He nearly found a gap at Artur Boruc's near-post. Comes

:24:13. > :24:19.off Distin's knee. Sharp reactions from Boruc. Corner helped on. Nearly

:24:20. > :24:23.helped in by Vardy. I think if Claudio Ranieri had a kitchen sink

:24:24. > :24:28.on the bench, he'd put it on. Everything being chucked at

:24:29. > :24:35.Bournemouth now. Deep breathes, full effort is the request from Eddie

:24:36. > :24:44.Howe to his players. Gosling is with him. Vardy. Swivel of the hips. Is

:24:45. > :24:49.he caught again? The referee doesn't think so this time. Goal kick,

:24:50. > :24:54.Bournemouth. Leicester fans are howling. Jamie Vardy astonished away

:24:55. > :24:58.from Cook. Gosling in behind him. It is a tangle. A tangle of legs, no

:24:59. > :25:01.more than that. Leicester City failed to score for a third Premier

:25:02. > :25:05.League game in a row. From Bournemouth's point of view, they

:25:06. > :25:10.have played a terrific game in difficult circumstances. They've got

:25:11. > :25:16.a precious point. Leicester City 0, AFV Bournemouth 0. We felt we were

:25:17. > :25:19.in the game at 0-0, there for the taking. We were pleased with our

:25:20. > :25:22.first-half performance, the second-half was totally different.

:25:23. > :25:27.With the sending off we had to change. I think at the end of the

:25:28. > :25:34.match we deserve to win, but the draw is not OK because only one

:25:35. > :25:39.point. It's OK our first goal was 40 point. Today is 40 point. Champagne

:25:40. > :25:43.for my players. The sending offed and penalty went hand in hand. I

:25:44. > :25:46.have to ask you about the decision? Disappointed with it at the time. A

:25:47. > :25:52.great angle. The referee came from the other side. No criticism of

:25:53. > :25:57.himmism saw the player fall over. Simon takes the ball. Good touch on

:25:58. > :26:02.the ball. For me one of the best tackles on of the reason season for

:26:03. > :26:09.a centre-half against Jamie Vardy. The referee didn't feel that. Best

:26:10. > :26:16.tackle? I didn't think it was a red card. I thought it was a very good

:26:17. > :26:20.tackle. He gets the ball. He gets the ball. Am I think the distance

:26:21. > :26:23.that Vardy is away from him suggests that tackle is from behind from the

:26:24. > :26:30.referee's point of view much he take that is right leg as he takes the

:26:31. > :26:35.ball. You differ you two. This one is more of a penalty. This is

:26:36. > :26:40.definitely a penalty. Got his arm on him. Gets his legs caught up with

:26:41. > :26:45.Vardy also. That one should have been a penalty. Last-minute. Graham

:26:46. > :26:53.it didn't quite happen for Leicester in front of goal, certainly, a lot

:26:54. > :26:58.of the credit has to go to bourne you -- Bournemouth for effort? They

:26:59. > :27:02.have lost one in eight. With 10 men they out ran Leicester. It's such a

:27:03. > :27:05.part of their play. You see them doubling up down the sides.

:27:06. > :27:11.Stanislas on one side, Ritchie. Surman, down to 10 men. Surman

:27:12. > :27:18.making the extra defender. Ritchie, towards the end of the game, Ritchie

:27:19. > :27:23.working so hard to get back. They slip. They protect the space. Look

:27:24. > :27:26.how many bodies in good positions behind the ball. Leicester, to their

:27:27. > :27:30.credit, they tried hard to break them down. Down the sides they

:27:31. > :27:35.tried. There is an opportunity here. To get that ball through to that -

:27:36. > :27:41.hit Mahrez on-the-run is virtually impossible. Bournemouth just were

:27:42. > :27:51.relentless in the way they defended. Again, have you two v one situation.

:27:52. > :27:56.Invite Kante inside. Side, blocking that. Bournemouth were able to

:27:57. > :27:59.resist it. Leicester did create good chances I felt Bournemouth were

:28:00. > :28:03.worth the point. Leicester not scoring over Christmas to bridge all

:28:04. > :28:08.the other teams, give them a chance. According to you anyway. We are just

:28:09. > :28:13.about out of time. Thank you very much indeed. Let us look at the

:28:14. > :28:17.Barclays Premier League table. Arsenal move two points clear of

:28:18. > :28:20.Leicester. Manchester City won to stay within striking distance.

:28:21. > :28:24.Manchester United rise a place to fifth, West Ham up to sixth.

:28:25. > :28:29.Sunderland move to within four points of safety after winning the

:28:30. > :28:33.battle of the bottom two. Aston Villa seven points adrift of the

:28:34. > :28:36.black cats and 11 from survival. Newcastle occupy the final

:28:37. > :28:39.relegation place. Let us see what the papers have to say. The Sunday

:28:40. > :28:42.Times report that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal Louis van

:28:43. > :28:49.Gaal was assured earlier this week his job at Old Trafford is safe. The

:28:50. > :28:55.Mail on Sunday claim United are targeting Mane in the transfer

:28:56. > :29:00.window. The Sunday Express carry quotes from Alan Pardew who has

:29:01. > :29:02.written off Chelsea's opens of a top six finish ahead of Sunday's meeting

:29:03. > :29:08.with the fallen champions. They've scored more

:29:09. > :29:11.goals than anyone else. What a 2016 it's turning out

:29:12. > :29:16.to be for Sunderland.
