:00:32. > :00:39.Hello and welcome, 1 and all, to a rather rainy Old Trafford. We are

:00:40. > :00:42.here today for David Beckham's All Star Match For Children, it will see

:00:43. > :00:46.the former Manchester United midfielder take part in a Great

:00:47. > :00:50.Britain and Ireland team managed by Sir Alex Ferguson, who returns to

:00:51. > :00:55.Old Trafford as well. They will take on the Rest of the World XI looked

:00:56. > :01:03.after by Carlo Ancelotti. They have built this game as an all-star

:01:04. > :01:13.event, and with good reason. It is Beckham! Oh, it's in! Beckham has

:01:14. > :01:22.scored for England. Giggs! Michael Owen for England! And he has

:01:23. > :01:26.scored! Still Scholes. Oh, yes! Figo with a glorious ball. It is

:01:27. > :01:40.Ronaldinho! Well, that is some of the stars you

:01:41. > :01:43.will see on the pitch at Old Trafford in the game. David Beckham

:01:44. > :01:49.himself has been on quite a journey to get here. I will let him tell you

:01:50. > :01:53.all about it. It was about helping, you know, children all around the

:01:54. > :01:57.world, seven different initiatives, seven different continents, and then

:01:58. > :02:02.we came up with the idea of the game, or the games, so it was going

:02:03. > :02:06.to be seven games in seven continents in seven days. Obviously,

:02:07. > :02:11.physically, it wasn't possible to do it in seven days, but what we did do

:02:12. > :02:16.is we did it in nine days and it was an incredible journey. It was a

:02:17. > :02:21.journey which was exciting for a number of reasons. The reason we did

:02:22. > :02:24.this is too obviously raise as much money for the fund as possible, for

:02:25. > :02:30.Unicef as possible, but also to shine a light on the biggest and

:02:31. > :02:37.most popular game in the world. And, you know, there have been certain

:02:38. > :02:41.negative media coverage around football around the last year or two

:02:42. > :02:46.and I just wanted to highlight just how great this game is and how it

:02:47. > :02:49.brings people together. David Beckham knows a thing or two about

:02:50. > :02:53.playing at Old Trafford, this man knows a thing or two about managing

:02:54. > :03:03.here. What is it like being back here again? No comment. Don't stitch

:03:04. > :03:07.me up! It is great, the lads, all of The Class of 92 are in there apart

:03:08. > :03:12.from Gary and it has been good. Does it feel the same in the dressing

:03:13. > :03:16.room? Has much changed? Well, there is no team talk, they are lucky that

:03:17. > :03:21.way, Carragher and those said they would love to hear my team talk. And

:03:22. > :03:25.those stars and the rest of the world side, if you were still in the

:03:26. > :03:32.game, would you be tempted to poach a few? I tried back in the day, Figo

:03:33. > :03:37.and Clive Bird, Cafu, fantastic player -- Patrick Kluivert. We

:03:38. > :03:41.played Milan, he was 38 at the time and he must've covered 20 miles, up

:03:42. > :03:45.and down the touchline all day, fantastic. They have some great

:03:46. > :03:49.players and that is the attraction of today, they have represented a

:03:50. > :03:53.great cause in Unicef and they have turned out in force for it. Enjoy

:03:54. > :03:57.the game, lovely to see you back. So some big names out on the pitch

:03:58. > :04:04.preparing to do the business but it is not just the sporting stars who

:04:05. > :04:06.are here. The crowd were treated to a pre-match performance from

:04:07. > :04:17.renowned classical tenor Andrea Bocelli.

:04:18. > :04:42.Ladies and gentlemen, Andrei Bocelli! Time now, then, to join the

:04:43. > :04:45.commentary per the game, Chris Waddle and Steve Bower. -- for the

:04:46. > :04:55.game. Well, a warm welcome to Old Trafford

:04:56. > :04:59.in Manchester for a very special day, the match for children,

:05:00. > :05:07.organised by that man, David Beckham, back where it all began for

:05:08. > :05:11.him in his illustrious career. The match the children providing

:05:12. > :05:15.life-saving care, including protection, health and nutrition for

:05:16. > :05:19.some of the world's most vulnerable children and some of the best

:05:20. > :05:25.players in the world, and indeed managers, have turned up today to

:05:26. > :05:30.support Beckham on the day. Sir Alex Ferguson, who gave him his

:05:31. > :05:35.Manchester United debut, and Carlo Ancelotti, who was the manager in

:05:36. > :05:40.David Beckham's very last game as a professional for Paris

:05:41. > :05:46.Saint-Germain. Those two managers, who have won everything there is to

:05:47. > :05:50.win between them, back at the Theatre of dreams in Manchester and,

:05:51. > :05:55.in Alex Ferguson's case, back in a dugout at Old Trafford over two

:05:56. > :06:00.years on from his retirement after a glittering career at Manchester

:06:01. > :06:04.United. Well, the Great Britain and Ireland squad assembled have 93

:06:05. > :06:11.Premier League titles between them. Amongst those two starting with

:06:12. > :06:17.David Beckham former Manchester United team-mates Ryan Giggs, Nicky

:06:18. > :06:20.Butt, Philip Neville and Darren Fletcher. John Terry, the man who

:06:21. > :06:26.succeeded Beckham as England skipper, also starts. So many of the

:06:27. > :06:32.world's best players in the last two decades are here. The rest of the

:06:33. > :06:37.world party include two former player of the year winners. Luis

:06:38. > :06:41.Figo, four times champion league winner Clarence Seedorf and the 2002

:06:42. > :06:49.World Cup winner Ronaldinho -- Champions League winner. Before

:06:50. > :06:53.kick-off, there will be a minute's silence to remember those who lost

:06:54. > :06:58.their lives in the tragic events that unfolded in Paris yesterday.

:06:59. > :07:42.WHISTLE. APPLAUSE.

:07:43. > :07:53.Impeccably observed. Sir Alex Ferguson back in the dugout at Old

:07:54. > :07:59.Trafford. It will be the Rest of the World, in their blue strip, to get

:08:00. > :08:05.the game under way. Former strikers Patrick Kluivert and Legolas shar, 2

:08:06. > :08:14.Champions League winners in their day, to begin proceedings -- Arleigh

:08:15. > :08:21.Gunness shar -- Solskjaer. We had nestled dormer prior to kick-off,

:08:22. > :08:26.that evoked memories for the former World Cup semifinalist Chris Waddle

:08:27. > :08:31.behind me. I hate that song. No, I am joking. What an occasion disses,

:08:32. > :08:37.a lot of talent, obviously not playing at the place we were used to

:08:38. > :08:39.seeing them -- what an occasion this is. Good job I David Beckham to get

:08:40. > :08:52.so much talent here. The first chair of the day for David

:08:53. > :08:55.Beckham. Back at Old Trafford. He was saying prior to this that the

:08:56. > :09:01.butterflies would be just as great walking out today as they were the

:09:02. > :09:07.first time he did that, 21 years ago last month in a league cup tie here,

:09:08. > :09:11.his old Trafford debut against Port Vale.

:09:12. > :09:15.Another huge roar as Ryan Giggs marauders down the left-hand side,

:09:16. > :09:29.the Manchester United assistant manager.

:09:30. > :09:37.Cleared by Silvestre. And the first Paul Scholes volley of the day goes

:09:38. > :09:44.over the bar. He has the technique to put that in the back of the net.

:09:45. > :09:48.It has been a great start for the Great Britain and Ireland side, a

:09:49. > :09:52.lot of touches. It comes out to Scholes, one thing in his mind. He

:09:53. > :09:57.has got the technique but not on that occasion. The GB and Ireland

:09:58. > :09:58.steam have three current Premier League players in their starting 11.

:09:59. > :10:10.-- team. One of the current players, Darren

:10:11. > :10:24.Fletcher, now with West Bromwich Albion.

:10:25. > :10:36.You could see the intention, on that occasion, he didn't quite have the

:10:37. > :10:41.execution to beat van der Saar. They are enjoying themselves, the GB and

:10:42. > :10:42.Ireland steam. Van der Saar, great goalkeeper over the years, and very

:10:43. > :10:47.tall. This match the children sold out in

:10:48. > :11:08.less than four days. -- match for children. Ashley Cole into the

:11:09. > :11:12.side netting. Not renowned for his goal-scoring. Great Britain and

:11:13. > :11:17.Ireland dominating the game, as you would expect. Another good save by

:11:18. > :11:20.van der Saar, tested low to his right. Ashley Cole will be

:11:21. > :11:25.disappointed, he has Peter Crouch waiting for a tap in. It is a good

:11:26. > :11:37.save, pushes it well away. Beckham finds Crouch. Onside. And

:11:38. > :11:47.denied by van der Saar. Here comes Fletcher. Silvestre stops it on the

:11:48. > :11:53.line. Peter Crouch should score, but van der Saar showing all his

:11:54. > :12:01.experience. The Great Britain and Ireland team enjoying themselves.

:12:02. > :12:12.Scholes arriving! like winding back the years.

:12:13. > :12:17.Beckham's Cross, Scholes' header. We have seen that once or twice and it

:12:18. > :12:21.has broken the deadlock, with the first goal of the afternoon, and

:12:22. > :12:25.Paul Scholes finished it off. It has been coming. The number of times you

:12:26. > :12:29.saw that ball coming in from David Beckham over the years. Scholes

:12:30. > :12:34.knows he will hit the spot and gambles on the near post. Good

:12:35. > :12:41.header, heads it down, van der Saar with no chance. Well, that was a

:12:42. > :12:47.goal made and scored by the Manchester United youth team

:12:48. > :12:51.originally, two players he gave his debuts two. Paul Scholes, who went

:12:52. > :12:54.on to win 25 major honours in the game, gets the first goal of this

:12:55. > :13:07.match for children. Scholes spoilt for choice. He has

:13:08. > :13:14.chosen Giggs. He went for goal himself. Wasted opportunity, good

:13:15. > :13:17.counterattack. Ryan Giggs with a smile on his face, trying to catch

:13:18. > :13:23.the keeper out. He had options across the box.

:13:24. > :13:31.Paul Scholes trying to bring it down. Flashes it over the bar. He is

:13:32. > :13:38.on a mission today, he has the Number Ten role, really, he could

:13:39. > :13:41.have had a hat-trick easily so far. Alex Ferguson has described Paul

:13:42. > :13:42.Scholes as having the greatest football brain of anyone he has ever

:13:43. > :13:56.worked with. Put out by Couto for a GB and

:13:57. > :14:02.Ireland corner. All bar Ronaldinho back to defend this.

:14:03. > :14:11.Jakes delivers it, Crouch got the first touch and then John Terry

:14:12. > :14:14.couldn't find the target. Typical centre half. Unless it is on the

:14:15. > :14:20.head, stay back. Once it hits the ground, you might as well start

:14:21. > :14:21.running back. It is difficult, he it has bounced high and he tried to get

:14:22. > :14:34.over it. Figo! Almost. It is the first good

:14:35. > :14:38.opportunity they have created, the Rest of the World. Ronaldinho has

:14:39. > :14:44.not really been on the wall at the root ball, great strength, great

:14:45. > :14:46.lay-off and Figo tries to place it in the corner -- not really been on

:14:47. > :14:59.the ball. What about that? It is a shame it

:15:00. > :15:05.won't count, because the offside flag is up, but that was exquisite

:15:06. > :15:09.from Ronaldinho. That is what you come to these games four, when his

:15:10. > :15:15.name is on the team sheet. He is looking to the right, but Clive that

:15:16. > :15:25.just drifts offside. -- Patrick Kluivert. It is a great finish and

:15:26. > :15:32.unfortunately, he is offside. The old adage is, you cannot teach that.

:15:33. > :15:44.Beckham is encouraged to shoot. Still no golden goal on his cold

:15:45. > :15:49.day. -- golden day. He could have rolled outside, never troubled

:15:50. > :15:53.football. If Great Britain and Ireland get a penalty, you won't

:15:54. > :16:06.need to e-mail in who is taking it. Paul Scholes!

:16:07. > :16:16.Crouch is offside, it won't count. Smart finish. But the flag was

:16:17. > :16:21.already up. Yes, he was offside. The linesman sticks his flag up quickly,

:16:22. > :16:28.he is a good two yards offside. It is a good finish. Went to two World

:16:29. > :16:32.Cup finals with England. It is the last action of this first half of

:16:33. > :16:36.the match the children and Great Britain and Ireland have the lead,

:16:37. > :16:44.Edwin van der Saar has kept the score down but he was beaten after

:16:45. > :16:48.13 minutes by Paul Scholes' header, delivered to him by David Beckham

:16:49. > :16:52.right footed cross. Has been entertaining, but the Rest of the

:16:53. > :17:01.World are hanging in there at half-time in the match for children

:17:02. > :17:03.at Old Trafford it is 1-0. What has the first half been like

:17:04. > :17:09.out there question mark the weather doesn't look the best. Well, I think

:17:10. > :17:13.the weather is not the important thing today, the cause that we are

:17:14. > :17:19.here for is the most important, after the difficult and hard day

:17:20. > :17:25.that we had yesterday. So I think it is a pleasure for me to be part of

:17:26. > :17:30.this game and try to raise as much fun is is possible for the kids. It

:17:31. > :17:35.is like the old days, Neville back to Beckham, Beckham into Scholes,

:17:36. > :17:39.and 1-0 Manchester United, or Great Britain and Ireland. You don't lose

:17:40. > :17:46.that class, Scholes the has bad timing and Becks has the delivery.

:17:47. > :17:50.-- has the timing. David Beckham has had a huge array of stars gathered

:17:51. > :17:53.here, hasn't he? He deserves everything good, he is a fantastic

:17:54. > :17:57.person and a very good friend and I am very happy for him.

:17:58. > :18:02.Have you had a word with your players? You are the much busier

:18:03. > :18:06.goalkeeper. They have much fitter line-up, it looks like a Premier

:18:07. > :18:11.League team, John Terry, Ashley Cole, Darren Fletcher, those kind of

:18:12. > :18:14.guys, they are cheating a little bit. Some things never change, Phil

:18:15. > :18:20.Neville still getting in trouble not tracking back. Well, the legs aren't

:18:21. > :18:27.what they used to be for all of us, so it is a much bigger pitch than I

:18:28. > :18:30.can remember. We have had a substitution in terms of the

:18:31. > :18:36.referee, Premier League official Anthony Taylor has replaced

:18:37. > :18:44.Pierluigi Collina, the -- and changes on each side as well,

:18:45. > :18:47.including both goalkeepers. David Seaman, former England and Arsenal

:18:48. > :18:53.goalkeeper now playing for Great Britain and Ireland.

:18:54. > :19:01.Won back by Fletcher. Crouch, in range. The former Manchester United

:19:02. > :19:04.goalkeeper with his first save. He made that look easy, didn't he? He

:19:05. > :19:10.didn't push it away. Great strike by Peter Crouch. Ronaldinho.

:19:11. > :19:14.didn't push it away. Great strike by time touch. Ron is at it again. Can

:19:15. > :19:21.he finish it off? Seaman got a touch. It was an important one. The

:19:22. > :19:25.game has dropped his pace. It's suiting Ronaldinho much he is

:19:26. > :19:28.finding holes and pockets where he is picking the ball up. They are not

:19:29. > :19:32.closing them down as quick now. He is showing the skills we have seen

:19:33. > :19:36.over the years. History between these two of course, Ronaldinho and

:19:37. > :19:41.Seaman. The World Cup quarter-final of 2002 when Ronaldinho scored past

:19:42. > :19:45.David Seaman who was caught off his line in the goal that took Brazil,

:19:46. > :19:50.not England, noose those semi-finals. Here's Yorke who

:19:51. > :20:03.captained Trinidad and toe bay goal at the World Cup. He got the Rest of

:20:04. > :20:11.the World a free-kick. -- Tobago. Introducing Michael Owen to replace

:20:12. > :20:16.Peter Crouch. Michael Owen who scored 40 times in 89 England

:20:17. > :20:20.appearances. He was in the red where he was so successful for Liverpool.

:20:21. > :20:26.Of course, he came on as a substitute in his best ever moment

:20:27. > :20:31.in a Manchester United shirt at this ground to score a Derby Day winner

:20:32. > :20:37.against Manchester City. Will it be the same result? Here comes

:20:38. > :20:41.Ronaldinho. Couldn't test Seaman on that occasion. The conversation

:20:42. > :20:47.continues. Not this time, he's saying! I think David Seaman had

:20:48. > :20:53.that covered as well. Might have been over 13 years ago, but it's

:20:54. > :20:59.still in their mind. Superb ball to Beckham.

:21:00. > :21:06.Assessing the situation, David Beckham. He's looking for Scholes.

:21:07. > :21:15.He's run. Then Owen. Michael Owen! 2-0. The former England teams

:21:16. > :21:21.embrace. Michael Owen has a goal on his return to Old Trafford. Great

:21:22. > :21:25.Britain and Ireland have doubled their advantage. I think Phil

:21:26. > :21:30.Neville will have words with David Beckham. A 60-yard run on theover

:21:31. > :21:35.lap. Wouldn't give him that. Picked Scholes up on the far-post. Good

:21:36. > :21:45.pullback. Finish is a good finish. Pops up there. A good volley into

:21:46. > :21:48.the net. Good touch by Scholes. Just can't get the flight of the ball. A

:21:49. > :21:52.good finish by Michael Owen. Just look what it means to still win,

:21:53. > :21:59.when given the opportunity, find the back of the net. 35-year-old gives

:22:00. > :22:09.Great Britain and Ireland a two goal cushion. Here's Figo. Round Sol

:22:10. > :22:13.Campbell. Dwight Yorke tried to give it him back. Figo still going.

:22:14. > :22:22.Terrific block from Ashley Cole. It needed to be. Nearly a moment of

:22:23. > :22:27.magic from Figo. Figo, this is what we used to see years and years ago.

:22:28. > :22:31.Sol Campbell doesn't know which way he's going to go. Again, they've

:22:32. > :22:40.tried to walk it in. Good block blie Ashley Cole. Scholes.

:22:41. > :22:53.One-two with Owen. Neville. Almost. Almost able to find Paul Scholes.

:22:54. > :23:11.Yorke. Trying to feed Donovan, onside. Back to Dwight Yorke. 2-1.

:23:12. > :23:15.Dwight Yorke, who scored 65 times for Manchester United, has the first

:23:16. > :23:20.goal of the day for the Rest of the World. They've managed to reduce the

:23:21. > :23:25.deficit for Carlo Ancelotti's team. What a good goal as well, wasn't it?

:23:26. > :23:29.Great ball. Great pullback by Donovan. Yorke puts him in. You

:23:30. > :23:34.think he will square it across the goal. Options in the box. Great

:23:35. > :23:38.pullback. That's a wonderful finish by Dwight Yorke. Passes it into the

:23:39. > :23:44.net. Doesn't blast it. Side-foot, opens himself up and passes it,

:23:45. > :23:50.bottom corner. Another goalscorer enjoying the moment. A man who was

:23:51. > :23:59.so prolific in Manchester United's treble-winning season - 2 # goals

:24:00. > :24:08.that year. -- 29 goals that year. Former Portugese international once

:24:09. > :24:13.more. Ronaldinho. Tricks and flicks beginning to become more evident

:24:14. > :24:17.here. Yorke. The Kluivert. What a goal that would have been. The

:24:18. > :24:26.former Dutch international denied by David Seaman. Ronaldinho is coming

:24:27. > :24:30.into his own now. This is a moment which will be very proud for David

:24:31. > :24:35.Beckham. David Beckham is going to replace Beckham. First of all, the

:24:36. > :24:43.former England captain is going to get a standing ovation on his return

:24:44. > :24:52.to Old Trafford. Including from his previous manager, what a moment.

:24:53. > :24:58.Father hugs son. Has Brooklyn Beckham, 16-and-a-half years of age,

:24:59. > :25:02.wearing No 7, he is not 17 until March, will get 15 minutes at Old

:25:03. > :25:15.Trafford. What an occasion for him. Help has the ball now.

:25:16. > :25:22.Talk about trying to follow in your father's footsteps. He's playing on

:25:23. > :25:29.the right. There is his cross. That was a bit like dad. He actually runs

:25:30. > :25:33.like him and everything, doesn't he. If he could play like him he will

:25:34. > :25:42.have a wonderful career. He has come in there. His shaped and everything.

:25:43. > :25:49.To the far-post. Ashley Cole. Off and running here. Scholes has found

:25:50. > :25:53.him. Brooklyn Beckham is in space. He was trying to find Scholes at the

:25:54. > :25:59.back post. He did everything right. Right move, he couldn't pull it back

:26:00. > :26:03.enough for Scholes to tap it in. Suffice to say, tired legs out there

:26:04. > :26:09.at the moment. Here come the Rest of the World with Ronaldinho. Tried to

:26:10. > :26:14.step inside Sol Campbell. . Way he was ever going to shoot. He has to

:26:15. > :26:17.make it look good. To easy to run in the box and pull the trigger and

:26:18. > :26:25.score. Sol Campbell knew that. He will do a trick on us here. He

:26:26. > :26:33.blocks him off. He's still smiling. He's not finished yet. David Beckham

:26:34. > :26:39.is coming back on. Sol Campbell is departing. His former England

:26:40. > :26:45.team-mate looks a little reluctant to leave the pitch. Beckham will

:26:46. > :26:50.play with his son at Old Trafford for the final eight minutes. I tell

:26:51. > :26:53.you something, Chris, in all he has achieved in his glittering career

:26:54. > :27:02.that moment will be right up there with them. Definitely. He passed the

:27:03. > :27:10.ball, given him back. Giving him a telling off. Went straight back to

:27:11. > :27:18.dad. Can anyone else play? Can I have my ball back? As it went to

:27:19. > :27:27.another play the boos went round Old Trafford.

:27:28. > :27:35.Great Britain and Ireland have a corner. Young Brooklyn will take the

:27:36. > :27:40.corner. David Beckham pointed to him, like, go on, you can have it.

:27:41. > :27:46.Bun one or two of these practiced in the garden in the Beckham household.

:27:47. > :27:51.Is there an end product? Can he pass to his dad? He can. All that

:27:52. > :27:56.practice almost came off. Thats with a good delivery. David Beckham gets

:27:57. > :28:03.up very, very well. Standard jump. Just can't get it on target. Now,

:28:04. > :28:19.imagine that. Cross by Beckham, headed in by Beckham. David Beckham.

:28:20. > :28:24.Kept in by Cole. Oh. That one is in. You never lose that instinct. A

:28:25. > :28:31.mistake by the goalkeeper hand Michael Owen alive to the situation.

:28:32. > :28:36.He gets his second. Great Britain and Ireland's third. Yeah, a lot of

:28:37. > :28:41.time on the ball. Comes across to the far-post. Ashley Cole squares

:28:42. > :28:47.it. As you can see here, he has all the time, space, ball in. This is

:28:48. > :28:54.the cross. This is a howler this one. Michael Owen, as you said,

:28:55. > :28:59.goalscorers just seem to think - he get in the areas. He anticipated. He

:29:00. > :29:05.gets his reward. The goalkeeper has to put his hand up here. Oh, dear

:29:06. > :29:11.me! Great Britain and Ireland 3, Rest of the World 1. Just cannot

:29:12. > :29:17.take away that steely professionalism that brought these

:29:18. > :29:25.players to the very top of the game. Beckham Jnr. Scholes. Encouraged to

:29:26. > :29:34.shoot. He's gone for the chip. Almost! A Paul Scholes special. Had

:29:35. > :29:39.he tried it first half with Edwin van der Saar. He didn't get any

:29:40. > :29:43.luck, van der Saar read it. Looks like he will put power on it. He

:29:44. > :29:47.just dinks it. Again, if it comes back off the bar, that would be a

:29:48. > :29:54.hat-trick would it be for Michael Owen? We have seen great

:29:55. > :30:00.entertainment and terrific touches. Is there one more left? Ronaldinho!

:30:01. > :30:06.Seaman was beaten. Look at David Seaman. As if to think - you're not

:30:07. > :30:10.going to do it again. You've had whatever years you're having on that

:30:11. > :30:14.one. I don't one want another one. You can see the quality he has got.

:30:15. > :30:17.Digs it out of his feet. Look, clip. You don't know what he's going to do

:30:18. > :30:21.Ronaldinho. There's the final whistle. Terrific afternoon's

:30:22. > :30:25.entertainment. Sir Alex Ferguson's return to the dug-out at Old

:30:26. > :30:31.Trafford is a winning one. Great Britain and Ireland, led by David

:30:32. > :30:35.Beckham, have won the game by 3-1. Paul Scholes in the first half and

:30:36. > :30:40.then Michael Owen on as a substitute with two goals in the second.

:30:41. > :30:47.Another former Manchester United player on the scoresheet at the

:30:48. > :30:51.other end in Dwight Yorke. Played in magnificent spirit. Those two

:30:52. > :30:58.managers with five Champions League successes between them. They have

:30:59. > :31:03.seen an afternoon of high quality for a terrific cause that has

:31:04. > :31:08.finished Great Britain and Ireland 3, Rest of the World 1.

:31:09. > :31:15.When David Beckham picked up the phone and said - would you like to

:31:16. > :31:18.come to Manchester and play in a charity game, does anyone say no If

:31:19. > :31:23.the agenda allows it we always support each other. Many of our

:31:24. > :31:27.generation are doing good things around the globe. We always fry to

:31:28. > :31:34.support each other when it's possible. A night like this a result

:31:35. > :31:41.doesn't matter. A few players to be annoyed to have lost 3-1 out there.

:31:42. > :31:47.Yeah, of course. To play away was not bad 3-1. You will take the away

:31:48. > :31:51.goal? Yeah, exactly. Phil, a victory what was the performance like out

:31:52. > :31:55.there? I thought we played well. The main worry was whether we would have

:31:56. > :31:58.players left. Everyone kept going down with calf strains. A fantastic

:31:59. > :32:02.day. You forget how good it's playing football. When you get back

:32:03. > :32:15.out there is rivalry and aggression. I really enjoyed it. Were you robbed

:32:16. > :32:19.there? Yeah, we were. Phil, it seems to be the old Manchester United way

:32:20. > :32:23.for that first goal, you back to Beckham, Beckham into Scholes and

:32:24. > :32:26.1-0? Was the cross It and the timing of the run from Scholes was

:32:27. > :32:32.fantastic. The way that Beckham put it on a sixpence. I think you forget

:32:33. > :32:36.how good these players were, Scholes, unbelievable. The quality

:32:37. > :32:39.from David Beckham. I don't see another player in football cross a

:32:40. > :32:44.ball like that. You see Ronaldinho and Figo on the ball. It's not nice

:32:45. > :32:47.being a defender as well. Two goal hero, Michael Owen. Join us here.

:32:48. > :32:53.Thank you very much, Phil. Talk about Man of the Match performance?

:32:54. > :32:57.I think so. To be fair he came on did what he does. He scores goals.

:32:58. > :33:04.Michael, still got it? I don't know about got. It I still have an

:33:05. > :33:08.instinct. I know where the ball will go it's whether my legs can take me

:33:09. > :33:11.there. Did you enjoy being back at Old Trafford you got a lovely

:33:12. > :33:18.reception I had three enjoyable years. I wasn't my best at the end

:33:19. > :33:22.of my career. My career started well and petered off I have a lot of time

:33:23. > :33:26.for this place. Three years here. A lot of good people and friends.

:33:27. > :33:32.These boys have been here longer than me. It's a special club. Nice

:33:33. > :33:36.to have Beckham back to Beckham at the end with Brooklyn coming on? He

:33:37. > :33:40.played better than David to be fair. He tracked back. It was nice. A

:33:41. > :33:44.personal touch at the end. Brooklyn loves playing football. Nice to

:33:45. > :33:48.experience. What a great occasion. What happened in Paris last night. A

:33:49. > :33:51.beautifully observed minute's silence before the game. Everyone's

:33:52. > :33:55.thoughts with the poor people of Paris at this moment? Yeah. Of

:33:56. > :34:00.course. It's a disaster. Horrific evening for us in Paris. The whole

:34:01. > :34:06.world witnessed. Great to have the support. Now we have to grieve our

:34:07. > :34:09.dead and hope for the best. Let us finish tonight with having a chat

:34:10. > :34:14.with the man who put it together. Dave #1rid, what was that experience

:34:15. > :34:19.like for you? Was incredible. It Obviously, I'm very proud of what

:34:20. > :34:24.we've achieved today. You know we set off 10 days ago to play seven

:34:25. > :34:28.games on seven continents in nine days. It was always going to be a

:34:29. > :34:32.challenge. This was obviously the game that all the other games were

:34:33. > :34:36.centred around. It couldn't have gone any better than obviously what

:34:37. > :34:40.it has tonight. Such a special occasion. I want to thank the fans

:34:41. > :34:44.for coming out and supporting the charity and children around the

:34:45. > :34:49.world. I want to thank the managers, the players, all the staff, everyone

:34:50. > :34:56.that has been involved in this incredible journey. It's been a

:34:57. > :35:00.special day. You know one thing I do want to say on behalf behalf of

:35:01. > :35:05.myself, managers, players, the fans and everyone around the world we

:35:06. > :35:11.pass our condolences on to the people who have lost loved ones in

:35:12. > :35:18.Paris. A devastating situation and one that is obviously, you noi, it's

:35:19. > :35:22.upset and hurt many people. We all pass our condolences on to the

:35:23. > :35:27.people who have lost loved ones. That is where you finish your career

:35:28. > :35:30.in a a city you enjoyed being in. Horrified to think what happened

:35:31. > :35:37.yesterday? I mean, it is. Obviously, I've got so much love for Paris as a

:35:38. > :35:41.city anyway. I played my 100th game there for England. I finished my

:35:42. > :35:45.career there with PSG. It's a special place. Obviously, these

:35:46. > :35:50.things happen all over the world. It's devastating to see. You know,

:35:51. > :35:55.we want to, like I said, we pass our condolences on to the people who

:35:56. > :35:57.have lost a lot of loved once. In terms of tonight's game, a

:35:58. > :36:04.comfortable victory in the end? Yeah. I mean, it's never comfortable

:36:05. > :36:07.when you have plays like Cafu, Figo and Ronaldinho on the field thechl

:36:08. > :36:11.can do many things. But I never had the chance to play with some of

:36:12. > :36:15.these players, but fortunately I did play can some of these players.

:36:16. > :36:19.Players like Cafu I played against. To be on the same field as him is

:36:20. > :36:25.incredible. To be on the same field with all of these players, they have

:36:26. > :36:30.given up their time to support a great cause. It means so much not

:36:31. > :36:34.just to me, I'm a player out there an Ambassador of Unicef. I'm proud

:36:35. > :36:39.to be proud of an organisation that does so much for young children

:36:40. > :36:43.around the world. Today was special. Winding back the clock there,

:36:44. > :36:47.Neville to Beckham, cross, Scholes 1-0 Yeah. It's usually Gary doing

:36:48. > :36:52.the overlapse and not getting the ball. It was Phil's turn tonight. It

:36:53. > :36:55.was a special night, you know. Playing out there and having the

:36:56. > :37:01.manager in the changing room. Me setting the goal up for Scholes. It

:37:02. > :37:04.never gets old. I'm always - I always think I need to impress the

:37:05. > :37:09.manager to try and get another - Even tonight? Yeah. I'm always going

:37:10. > :37:14.to think that. My mentality is, I love the game. I love Manchester

:37:15. > :37:18.United. I love playing here. I always think, even at 40 years old,

:37:19. > :37:21.maybe there's another chance! I don't think so. There might be

:37:22. > :37:25.another chance for a Beckham. Your son Brooklyn was out there as well.

:37:26. > :37:30.You were able to join him for the last 10 minutes of the game? I

:37:31. > :37:37.wasn't meant to. Sol came off with an injury. The man said do you fans

:37:38. > :37:42.going on not at centre-half. Having Brooklyn out there is special.

:37:43. > :37:45.Special for a few reasons. One of my lasting memories at Manchester

:37:46. > :37:50.United is winning the Premiership and walking around with Brooklyn at

:37:51. > :37:54.18 months old. To see him now, 16, walk on to the field, it's a special

:37:55. > :37:59.moment. Then obviously to go back on there and to pass the ball to my

:38:00. > :38:04.son, it's - you know, it might never happen again. It's special.

:38:05. > :38:12.Congratulations on pulling the game off. Same again next year? We'll

:38:13. > :38:20.see. The football is back next Saturday starting with Football
