:00:59. > :01:06.An masters of the destiny going into the final round of group games of

:01:07. > :01:12.Euro 2016. Victory over Slovakia would see Roy Hodgson's side win

:01:13. > :01:16.their group. -- England and Wales were masters of their own destiny.

:01:17. > :01:22.For Wales, a point and they would almost certainly qualify. Good

:01:23. > :01:25.evening. Highlights of both matches coming up. We're in the company of

:01:26. > :01:31.Danny Murphy, Alan Shearer, and Dean Saunders. This was how things stood

:01:32. > :01:36.in Group B, all four side still with a chance of making it through. --

:01:37. > :01:45.sides. Can Wales embrace this opportunity?

:01:46. > :01:52.The only way to guarantee finishing in the top two and progression from

:01:53. > :01:54.Group B is to win. But Russia's need is maybe even greater. If they don't

:01:55. > :02:03.win they cannot progress. The Berezutski twins are celebrating

:02:04. > :02:24.their birthday. Neither of the defensive back two

:02:25. > :02:32.will enjoy Gareth Bale. Four changes to the Russian side in total. Wales

:02:33. > :02:36.won the toss. They make one change, Sam Vokes start in place of

:02:37. > :02:53.Robson-Kanu. Two games in this tournament, two

:02:54. > :02:59.free kicks, two goals, Robbie Savage, how you feeling? Nervous. --

:03:00. > :03:18.how are you feeling? A dangerous looking ball. Chester

:03:19. > :03:20.dealt with it well. Sam Vokes, getting selection ahead of

:03:21. > :03:26.Robson-Kanu. We will talk about that in a moment, because Joe Allen is

:03:27. > :03:31.looking to Gareth Bale. Ramsey in the middle. Gareth Bale got the shot

:03:32. > :03:36.away, big chance the Sam Vokes. Flag up on the far side anyway. We see in

:03:37. > :03:42.the build-up what Sam Vokes can offer. Got the ball, ticketing, and

:03:43. > :03:49.put it behind Batman, Gareth Bale. It is a strike. -- take it in and

:03:50. > :03:54.put it behind that man. Great start from Wales. A great noise from the

:03:55. > :04:10.Welsh crowd. Ramsay is onside. Wales with the

:04:11. > :04:16.lead! Aaron Ramsey for Wales. He knows he is in front. If they win

:04:17. > :04:19.there is nothing anybody can do to deny them. Russia have given the

:04:20. > :04:28.ball away cheaply. What a ball from Joe Allen. Look at the touch of Joe

:04:29. > :04:33.Allen, look at Ramsay, timed absolutely perfectly. Then he has

:04:34. > :04:36.the composure, he sees the goalkeeper charging out. He has the

:04:37. > :04:44.audacity to wait for the goalkeeper to fall down, and then he puts it

:04:45. > :04:50.over him. Cool, calm, collected. Perfect start. Delightful finish.

:04:51. > :05:03.And it is a challenge from Davis to Ramsay. Gareth Bale trying to

:05:04. > :05:10.exploit a gap. He has made a great run. It has come to Taylor. Can the

:05:11. > :05:18.finish? He saves the first, but not the second. -- he finished. His

:05:19. > :05:26.first ever for Wales. They are in dreamland. They haven't even played

:05:27. > :05:33.20 minutes yet. Neil Taylor doubles Wales' lead. Impressive from the

:05:34. > :05:37.Wales team. Ramsay again. Look at where he puts the ball. That has

:05:38. > :05:43.bolstered the team. They dropped deeper. Bale gets the ball. I

:05:44. > :05:49.thought he was going to knock it across. He took his time. Good save,

:05:50. > :06:01.and then he blasts it into the net. A little bit lucky for Gareth Bale.

:06:02. > :06:03.Outside of his left foot. Wales in dreamland. 2-0. Fantastic, fantastic

:06:04. > :06:09.start. Playing good advantage. Sam Vokes is

:06:10. > :06:29.with Ramsay. A comfortable save for the

:06:30. > :06:33.goalkeeper. Mamaev made the attack on Gareth Bale. No protection.

:06:34. > :06:44.Exposed again. And it fell to the wingback. Crucial save. Hennessy. It

:06:45. > :06:52.is a brilliant save from Hennessy. It is a long ball from Akinfeev.

:06:53. > :06:59.Williams has got onto it. But what a save. Under pressure. It is a decent

:07:00. > :07:19.ball. Gareth Bale accelerating. Sam

:07:20. > :07:24.Vokes... The goalkeeper prevents a third.

:07:25. > :07:41.It is a really good header, that. Oh! Gareth Bale. Scintillating run.

:07:42. > :07:50.Once again, they cannot live with him. Just look at how he drives

:07:51. > :08:01.them. Should have been a foul. He can pass his cheeks out. You are

:08:02. > :08:12.getting battered! -- puff. Ramsay, well hit. Akinfeev shuffling it

:08:13. > :08:14.around the post. In the first half, he has been the best by any

:08:15. > :08:24.tournament. The pass from Ramsay is stretching

:08:25. > :08:45.the Russians. Gareth Bale's shot... He is in the

:08:46. > :08:52.mood. What the job he has done, Chris Coleman. -- what a job. Gareth

:08:53. > :08:59.Bale has turned it away from one. He has the pace to beat the two

:09:00. > :09:06.defenders. It is no exaggeration to say that had it not been for the

:09:07. > :09:21.Russian goalkeeper Wales could be four, or five in front.

:09:22. > :09:26.Every time Gareth Bale gets the ball you think something is going to

:09:27. > :09:33.happen tonight. Best performance in the tournament so far. He is playing

:09:34. > :09:38.with freedom. I think it has helped having Sam Vokes in the side. Sam

:09:39. > :09:42.Vokes has nicked it away from his man. Ramsay with Gareth Bale going

:09:43. > :09:51.up the middle. Gareth Bale... Akinfeev again! It is good work from

:09:52. > :09:55.Sam Vokes. Stole the ball. And the timing of the pass from Ramsay,

:09:56. > :09:59.Gareth Bale is just trying to dink it over the legs of Akinfeev. He has

:10:00. > :10:05.rushed out. Good save from the goalkeeper. He just got his toe to

:10:06. > :10:11.the ball. Once again, devastating counterattack from Wales. 2-0

:10:12. > :10:24.doesn't really begin to reflect Wales' superiority. Ledley, great

:10:25. > :10:29.ball, Ramsay leaves it. -- Aaron Ramsey. Gareth Bale is onside.

:10:30. > :10:38.Surely this time! CHEERING

:10:39. > :10:44.There is the man, and there is the man with the plan. Wales three,

:10:45. > :10:48.Russia zero. So much space on the right-hand side. Great from Ledley.

:10:49. > :10:54.Gives the ball to Aaron Ramsey. He can drive it through the back four.

:10:55. > :10:59.No protection. But just look at the timing of the run. Sam Vokes in an

:11:00. > :11:04.offside position, he was clever enough to leave it for Gareth Bale.

:11:05. > :11:09.He sees the goalkeeper rushing out. Look at how he composes self. Takes

:11:10. > :11:20.it outside of his left foot. Licks it both Akinfeev. What a finish. --

:11:21. > :11:26.over Akinfeev. You are looking at Euro 2016's top scorer. So easy for

:11:27. > :11:32.Wales. What a performance. You cannot help wondering what Ronaldo

:11:33. > :11:35.makes of Gareth Bale taking this tournament by the scruff of the

:11:36. > :11:40.neck. It is one of the most one-sided games I have seen in a

:11:41. > :11:45.European Championships. And I have been watching for a number of years,

:11:46. > :11:48.these tournaments. For Wales to come out, and a little bit of pressure,

:11:49. > :11:52.after conceding late against England, they have come out with

:11:53. > :11:55.energy every time they have attacked. They have looked like they

:11:56. > :12:05.could score every time they have attacked. Danger here. Over the bar.

:12:06. > :12:12.A scant consolation it would have been, but he should have scored. It

:12:13. > :12:24.is a fantastic performance into the box.

:12:25. > :12:48.-- deflected behind. A good block from the Russian defender.

:12:49. > :12:56.Almost overcome with the absolute joy of it. That is what it means.

:12:57. > :13:02.That is what it means to these fans. Look at them. That is what it means.

:13:03. > :13:10.Unbelievable passion, spirit, moved to tears by sheer pride. Pride is

:13:11. > :13:16.the word. What a night to be a Welshman.

:13:17. > :13:25.WHISTLE The whistle has gone. Wales are

:13:26. > :13:36.through. Chris Coleman got everything right. Cracking from

:13:37. > :13:39.Coleman. Exemplary from Alan. Ramsay was -- Aaron Ramsey was rampant. And

:13:40. > :13:45.Gareth Bale was absolutely magnificent.

:13:46. > :13:50.We knew everything was on this game. It was in our hands. We said before

:13:51. > :13:54.the game just to go out there, enjoy ourselves. I have no regrets. Micah

:13:55. > :13:58.have always said. The performance was probably the best I have been

:13:59. > :14:05.involved with since I have been involved. -- like I have always

:14:06. > :14:10.said. We move on now. The three points are massive. The performance

:14:11. > :14:15.was even sweeter than the points. I thought the players were brave

:14:16. > :14:20.tonight. What a night. One I will never forget, you know? I thought we

:14:21. > :14:26.started the game so well. From start to finish, we thoroughly deserved

:14:27. > :14:32.the win. To win in style Mike Batt, it is a special moment for Welsh

:14:33. > :14:37.football, I think -- like that. Unbelievable feeling. To get it in

:14:38. > :14:44.the year rose, at this stage. I did my best to miss it. But I scored in

:14:45. > :14:47.the second attempt. The energy was sapped out of them. You often get

:14:48. > :14:52.those games where you can ease off in the last ten or 15 minutes, we

:14:53. > :14:55.did well. We started so well. The boys ahead of us were brilliant.

:14:56. > :15:02.Created well. Broke them. Everybody worked so hard. Fantastic feeling.

:15:03. > :15:05.What an occasion. We have been waiting a long time to show we are

:15:06. > :15:10.capable of doing this on a big stage. To get two wins, and to come

:15:11. > :15:17.so close against England, it is a fantastic thing. We have nothing to

:15:18. > :15:22.fear. We respect everybody. But no fear. Why should we have any fear?

:15:23. > :15:30.Well played, Wales, they go through. Marvellous, magical, memorable

:15:31. > :15:35.comedy. We don't get many days like these, but this has to be up there

:15:36. > :15:39.with one of the best performances I have seen in my lifetime from the

:15:40. > :15:43.Wales team. That could have been ten. It was a brilliant effort, they

:15:44. > :15:48.won very easily and it all started with a great start, with Aaron

:15:49. > :15:52.Ramsey putting them ahead. The performance was great, helped by the

:15:53. > :15:56.worst performance I have seen from an international team, but Aaron

:15:57. > :16:02.Ramsey's brain from the start is two steps ahead of everybody's. Great

:16:03. > :16:07.ball, great run, Joe Allen puts him in. If you watch her sharp ears, he

:16:08. > :16:12.sets off before everybody else, the timing of his run -- house shop he

:16:13. > :16:18.is. The ball has the right way to macro on it and the writeback gets

:16:19. > :16:25.it wrong and what a finish, he played out of his skin today -- the

:16:26. > :16:31.right back. They all did, but Aaron Ramsey was probably the best. That

:16:32. > :16:33.was the start of the game but it was all the way through, very

:16:34. > :16:38.comfortable victory. Total domination of the 90 minute and Dean

:16:39. > :16:41.said, it could've been and should have been, but for the finishing and

:16:42. > :16:46.the goalkeeper, it would have been nine or they were superb. Rarely

:16:47. > :16:51.seen a team so dominant against another. This is Russia, it is not

:16:52. > :16:55.one of the tiny nations in this tournament, really. It's not, but

:16:56. > :16:58.what was even better if they have lost their last game, they were

:16:59. > :17:02.under some pressure. It wasn't a dead rubber, which we see sometimes

:17:03. > :17:05.in tournaments. It was a game where they had to get something out of it,

:17:06. > :17:10.they played on the front foot and passed the ball better. Absolutely

:17:11. > :17:14.brilliant. Keylor, the last time he scored was six years ago and I do

:17:15. > :17:22.believe you might have been with him at the time -- Taylor. I was, it was

:17:23. > :17:29.a similar venue to this, it was Grays athletic. He hadn't scored for

:17:30. > :17:35.four years. But look at his desire compared to the Russian right back's

:17:36. > :17:39.desire to get back. And again, it is a similar type goal, they get caught

:17:40. > :17:43.square at the back and Neal is through, gets lucky rebound, but the

:17:44. > :17:48.defenders all get attracted to Gareth Bale. They should be killing

:17:49. > :17:52.this post the other way, but for some reason, they did it all night,

:17:53. > :17:57.stepping towards the ball, all of the goals were quite similar. Great

:17:58. > :18:01.finish from Neil. Gets a bit of luck, he didn't know what he was

:18:02. > :18:08.doing there. I will remind him later. Gareth Bale, he has scored

:18:09. > :18:11.two wonder free kicks in this tournament already. He has been

:18:12. > :18:16.quiet in some aspects, especially against England, but tonight, he was

:18:17. > :18:19.dominant, he was brilliant. He is looking like the best player in the

:18:20. > :18:23.tournament by a mile. Three goals in three games. He ran riot all night.

:18:24. > :18:29.He is just too quick and strong for everyone. Look at the space in

:18:30. > :18:33.behind the Russian midfield in front of the defence. All night, they had

:18:34. > :18:41.nobody there helping the back four and they step up again and Bale,

:18:42. > :18:46.what a finish. That is acute, clever, intelligent finish. Timed

:18:47. > :18:50.his run to perfection but once he is there, he is so cool, and the little

:18:51. > :18:55.left over the goalkeeper, the touch and the bend with a left foot. He

:18:56. > :18:59.knows exactly what he is doing, he knows the goalkeeper is coming out

:19:00. > :19:04.and will go low and thinks it over. He is a hell of a player, Danny. I

:19:05. > :19:08.think it was his best performance of the tournament. The first two games,

:19:09. > :19:13.he was a bit in and out but tonight, he showed all of his qualities, his

:19:14. > :19:19.dribbling, pace, crossing and shops. He just dominated the game, Dean. He

:19:20. > :19:24.is too good for everybody, you can't leave him this type of space. This

:19:25. > :19:29.time, he comes in on his left foot, they can't stop him and he is a

:19:30. > :19:33.great striker of the ball. Sam is offside the gets a shot in. This

:19:34. > :19:38.one, Tottenham against Milan a few years back. Look at the players

:19:39. > :19:44.chasing him, it looks like they have divers' boots on. He is like a

:19:45. > :19:48.Rolls-Royce, great skill. Again, you can't leave him this type of space

:19:49. > :19:53.because he is capable of doing that if you stand off him. When you

:19:54. > :19:56.consider the pressure that is on his shoulders... We know he is a big

:19:57. > :20:01.game player, he has produced in big games for Real Madrid, but when you

:20:02. > :20:05.consider the pressure, Wales is on his shoulders. We have all said if

:20:06. > :20:09.he performs, Wales have a chance of getting through the group, so for

:20:10. > :20:14.him to do that under that pressure speaks volumes about his character.

:20:15. > :20:18.He was given a free role as well, wasn't he, popping up on the left

:20:19. > :20:21.and right and sometimes central? They build the team around him and

:20:22. > :20:25.when he has that freedom and the space... He was that quick and

:20:26. > :20:30.strong, he was making players look pedestrian. But he was helped by

:20:31. > :20:34.them, they were terrible tonight, Russia. But you can compare him to

:20:35. > :20:39.the best players in the world. It hasn't happened so far for Ronaldo

:20:40. > :20:47.this tournament, the two big stars from Real Madrid. Leonid Slutsky, we

:20:48. > :20:51.understand, has quit as the Russian coach but I tell you someone who

:20:52. > :20:56.won't get the sack, Chris Coleman. What an achievement to take his team

:20:57. > :21:02.through to the last 16. Well, to get them here, superb. To get the

:21:03. > :21:06.performances, to be difficult to beat, to have everyone in sync and

:21:07. > :21:09.to get the best out of his star players tells you, I think, what a

:21:10. > :21:16.brilliant job that Chris Coleman is doing. Bearing in mind he lost nine

:21:17. > :21:20.of the first 13 games and he was under pressure, calling for his

:21:21. > :21:25.head. Decided to do it his own way. The players love him. I didn't think

:21:26. > :21:29.we'd qualify as easy as we did and I didn't think we qualify in the

:21:30. > :21:31.tournament as easy as we have. You can tell the players love him

:21:32. > :21:36.because of the performances they are putting in, the effort, the

:21:37. > :21:40.commitment. Everything is jelling. I know a couple of the lads, I have

:21:41. > :21:43.spoken to them and you get a clear picture of how much respect they

:21:44. > :21:50.have got for him. It is not false. You see it in the performance. Now,

:21:51. > :21:54.as you'd expect, in Wales, they were getting quite excited about the

:21:55. > :22:00.game. This was Aaron Ramsey's goal, this was reaction in Cardiff. I

:22:01. > :22:06.would say they were getting quite excited. Brilliant scenes.

:22:07. > :22:11.Marvellous to see, it really is. What does it mean for Welsh

:22:12. > :22:17.football? Well, if I wasn't here, I would have been with them. It is a

:22:18. > :22:21.massive boost for football in Wales. I played for a long time and we

:22:22. > :22:25.never have a day like this. It is just brilliant. I can't believe how

:22:26. > :22:31.easily we have done it. Waiting all that time for it. And we were

:22:32. > :22:35.unlucky against England. I will give you that on this occasion. With

:22:36. > :22:38.Wales finishing on six points, England had to beat Slovakia to top

:22:39. > :22:43.the group. Your commentators, Martin Keown and

:22:44. > :22:47.Guy Mowbray. Where to next for England? It almost certainly won't

:22:48. > :22:52.be home but winning this final group game could be crucial in shaping how

:22:53. > :22:57.long their Euro 2016 ride will last. Three points will mean first place

:22:58. > :23:01.and on to Paris for the last 16. Slovakia, though, have the same

:23:02. > :23:04.incentive. It is the same Slovakia side that beat Russia last

:23:05. > :23:08.Wednesday, with three still in the team that played in the last meeting

:23:09. > :23:15.with England seven years ago, Pekarik, Skrtel and star man Marek

:23:16. > :23:18.Hamsik all figured in a 4-0 defeat at Wembley. Only a win will

:23:19. > :23:22.guarantee the potentially hugely important top spot for England but

:23:23. > :23:27.with qualification almost assured, Roy Hodgson has rung the changes.

:23:28. > :23:32.Six of them, with games for Nathaniel Clyne, Ryan Bertrand,

:23:33. > :23:35.Jordan Henderson, Jack Wilshere and Thursday's super subs, Daniel

:23:36. > :23:40.Sturridge and Jamie Vardy. Martin, lots of changes but you have

:23:41. > :23:46.applauded Roy Hodgson's boulders. I had, he is believing in his squad,

:23:47. > :23:47.you have to trust your players. It is bold from Roy, let's hope they

:23:48. > :23:59.don't let him down. Bat was Vardy. Pure instinct. --

:24:00. > :24:03.battles. It is Nathaniel Clyne, you would think it was Walker, gets down

:24:04. > :24:10.the right and it comes off his thigh, Jamie Vardy.

:24:11. > :24:16.Sturridge arrives in the penalty area, and Alana there as well.

:24:17. > :24:29.-- Adam Lallana. Henderson kept it nicely. Help time I Adam Lallana to

:24:30. > :24:37.Vardy. What a superblock tackle that is. It is a scrappy attempt from

:24:38. > :24:42.England, they flick it on and Sturridge is in and Pekarik, it is

:24:43. > :24:56.an outstanding challenge. Now Lallana. The shot was dragged

:24:57. > :25:02.wide and it was a nice crisp move from England. It is Lallana again

:25:03. > :25:08.coming in off the left, just creeping into that position. For me,

:25:09. > :25:15.he snatches at that. It has been a reasonable start for England. I

:25:16. > :25:27.think already... Vardy can surely beat scuttle in a race. Good save.

:25:28. > :25:31.Great save from the keeper, he was retreating. Just stands up and makes

:25:32. > :25:33.a barrier. How many times have you seen Vardy put them away in the

:25:34. > :25:44.Premier League? Henderson, what a ball. Clyne will

:25:45. > :25:55.get there. Wilshere didn't quite get there.

:25:56. > :26:03.Clyne pokes it through. Henderson. And Kozacik took it away from

:26:04. > :26:10.scuttle. England just livening themselves up now -- from Martin

:26:11. > :26:11.Skrtel. Just needs to keep it that bit lower, no chance for Vardy

:26:12. > :26:26.there. Here is Lallana! Straight at

:26:27. > :26:31.Kozacik. And Slovakia get it away. Good save from the keeper. He should

:26:32. > :26:38.be looking to put that in a corner. He has gone for safety.

:26:39. > :26:57.Vardy let it run. It was crashed by Henderson, straight against the head

:26:58. > :27:01.of Durica. A little more know-how needed from an England point of

:27:02. > :27:10.view, perhaps, in the second 45 minutes.

:27:11. > :27:19.Pekarik is dragged down by Bertrand. I think that might be one foul too

:27:20. > :27:25.many from the Southampton left-back. Bertrand gets a little too close to

:27:26. > :27:32.him and he can't retrieve it. It is a definite foul. And a position of

:27:33. > :27:40.opportunity for Slovakia. Their fans censored. Joe Hart with just enough

:27:41. > :27:42.on it. Actually, plenty on it. I wonder if he just mistimed it, but

:27:43. > :27:53.great reach in the end. Joe Hart stays back, calling for

:27:54. > :27:58.Chris Smalling to get it away. Therein lies the danger of not

:27:59. > :28:06.taking chances at the other end. Huge let off for England there.

:28:07. > :28:15.Maybe that is just what we need. That was a wake-up call. Clyne gets

:28:16. > :28:21.in front of Weiss. Couldn't keep it down. It was blocked, that is why it

:28:22. > :28:26.went so high over. What a fantastic run that is, great ball to him. Does

:28:27. > :28:30.everything right but score. I just wonder if he has been fouled as he

:28:31. > :28:36.hits back. Yes, he definitely caught him. This was the error at the other

:28:37. > :28:41.end, Smalling trying to bounce it back to Joe Hart. Not enough pace on

:28:42. > :28:51.the backpass, he just can't get to it. Pekarik a game, Smalling started

:28:52. > :28:54.to go backwards. Here is Kozacik. He will always check back and he very

:28:55. > :29:00.nearly managed to squeeze it past Joe Hart. The fans were calling for

:29:01. > :29:04.Wayne Rooney's introduction near the end of the first half and he is

:29:05. > :29:11.going to come on in midfield again and Jack Wilshere number -- Jack

:29:12. > :29:16.Wilshere's number is up. The whole of the stadium has been calling for

:29:17. > :29:23.Wayne Rooney to come on. He hasn't hung about, Roy Hodgson.

:29:24. > :29:42.Henderson across. Daily -- Deli Alli. What a great ball, Henderson

:29:43. > :29:51.just thinks it up and Deli Alli right on cue almost.

:29:52. > :30:03.England need that variation in their play. Sturridge... Just needed a

:30:04. > :30:07.better connection. Well, it's a fantastic ball. Just prods it into

:30:08. > :30:12.that area. We have suddenly got Sturridge and a central position. He

:30:13. > :30:17.is watching it, over his shoulder, very difficult to catch it on the

:30:18. > :30:21.fall. The English road have been absolutely fantastic, you have to

:30:22. > :30:28.say. The advantage with Rooney. It is blocked. It is not a free kick,

:30:29. > :30:34.it is a corner, though. Rooney is sensing something is going to happen

:30:35. > :30:40.for him. It is only a good block that denies him. You have to credit

:30:41. > :30:43.the Slovakia defending, the goalkeeper and all those in front of

:30:44. > :30:48.him putting everything on the line, getting in a way of everything.

:30:49. > :31:00.Wayne Rooney lifts it. Peter Pekarik happy to let it run. I don't know

:31:01. > :31:07.why, because it will be another corner. They usually say don't make

:31:08. > :31:11.changes before a corner, but they are making one. Sturridge isn't

:31:12. > :31:15.happy. I'm sure no player is happy about being replaced. He had a word

:31:16. > :31:23.with the touchline staff when he was told of the change that was going to

:31:24. > :31:27.happen a couple of minutes ago. Bertrand. Kay had attacks. In front

:31:28. > :31:33.of the keeper, he cannot get any touch. -- Gary Cahill. Stronger this

:31:34. > :31:40.time, but just not able to win it strongly enough.

:31:41. > :31:48.Shifted it out. Nobody waiting for him.

:31:49. > :32:02.Now it is on. It is a great turn from Wayne Rooney. He looks up to

:32:03. > :32:12.the skies, because he screws the shot wide of his left foot.

:32:13. > :32:17.Relentless from England. -- off. Henderson looking for Harry Kane. He

:32:18. > :32:23.couldn't hang in the air long enough. Good play again. Wayne

:32:24. > :32:24.Rooney involved. Just too high for Harry Kane to get anything on it.

:32:25. > :32:47.Agonising for him. Dele Alli lets fly, but the ball

:32:48. > :32:50.goes too high. It has exasperated a view of his colleagues. Well, there

:32:51. > :32:58.are some players in a better position. Henderson... He just gets

:32:59. > :33:03.sucked into hitting this one. -- few. Into the fifth minute of injury

:33:04. > :33:12.time. Nathaniel Clyne is still going down that same wing. What a good

:33:13. > :33:19.catch it is. The rolling was pretty impressive, too. It looks like it is

:33:20. > :33:32.over now. England missed the chance to go top of the group.

:33:33. > :33:43.Chris Smalling... WHISTLE Slovakia celebrate as if they have

:33:44. > :33:46.just achieved great things at the European Championship. I suppose

:33:47. > :33:54.getting out of the group and into the last 16, after not playing at

:33:55. > :33:58.these championships too often is a big thing for them. England are left

:33:59. > :34:03.a bit disappointed. They have done pretty much everything they could,

:34:04. > :34:06.but they couldn't manage to score and find a way through and win the

:34:07. > :34:11.game as they did late on against Wales. No repeat of the late glory

:34:12. > :34:13.tonight, but England are through, all right, if not in quite exuberant

:34:14. > :34:30.celebratory mood. Full-time. Congratulations were you happy that

:34:31. > :34:36.the starting XI picked up from where they left things with Wales? We

:34:37. > :34:39.dominated. It was good to have some players on the bench we could put

:34:40. > :34:43.on, especially as Slovakia were tiring, to increase the pressure on

:34:44. > :34:49.them. But we put pressure on them from the very first minute. The

:34:50. > :34:54.passing was fine. Creating goal chances. But as anybody who was

:34:55. > :34:57.watching the game could see, we didn't take them, unfortunately,

:34:58. > :35:03.which leaves us with 0-0 which is frustrating. We wanted to top the

:35:04. > :35:08.group. We are disappointed we didn't do it because we had the chance to

:35:09. > :35:12.do it. The play, the positioning, everything, it sounds easy to say,

:35:13. > :35:16.but we did everything but score. Every corner of the pitch, every

:35:17. > :35:19.part of the pitch, the Slovakian players will be proud of what they

:35:20. > :35:23.did tonight. It is in the end of the world for us, we are into the next

:35:24. > :35:28.round, and nobody will look forward to playing us. You are going to

:35:29. > :35:32.Nice, you don't know who your opponent will be, how difficult is

:35:33. > :35:38.it not to know, and how will you prepare? We will prepare in the same

:35:39. > :35:44.way. It is now all about recovering. We have a week to do that, like you

:35:45. > :35:51.say. If anything positive came out of this, it is that. We will go from

:35:52. > :35:59.there and wait to see who we get. We have to try and win. Hopefully we

:36:00. > :36:02.won't be playing for a draw. Hopefully we will see different

:36:03. > :36:06.football in the tournament in general. Hopefully it will make it

:36:07. > :36:12.easier for us, but you never know. If the team keeps working like it is

:36:13. > :36:16.at the moment, we will meet teams that will come to us, a bit more

:36:17. > :36:20.than in the first three games, and perhaps the spaces will open up and

:36:21. > :36:28.we will be even more dangerous. STUDIO: Wales top Group B. They were

:36:29. > :36:34.five to one to win the group before a ball was kicked. England qualify

:36:35. > :36:39.for the last 16. Slovakia likely to progress as a best third placed

:36:40. > :36:43.team. Who Wales and England will play next is complicated until the

:36:44. > :36:53.other groups have concluded. But we know that Wales will play a team who

:36:54. > :36:59.finished third in either Group A, C, or D. It is slightly more clear for

:37:00. > :37:10.England. They will play the runners-up of Group F in Nice.

:37:11. > :37:14.Frustrating evening to England, lots of chances, couldn't put them away,

:37:15. > :37:19.what did you of it? I didn't agree with them making that many changes.

:37:20. > :37:22.I think it is vital to get momentum. I thought there was opportunity to

:37:23. > :37:27.do that after the Wales game, particularly in the way they won, so

:37:28. > :37:31.I think it was a wrong decision to do that after the game. Having said

:37:32. > :37:35.that, we created chances. We should have scored goals. Particularly in

:37:36. > :37:40.the first half. We controlled possession but didn't create

:37:41. > :37:47.chances. It is ironic, before the tournament, I, along with everybody,

:37:48. > :37:54.worry about defence. But it was the forwards' play which must improve.

:37:55. > :37:58.It is never easy when a team sit back and watch. England have had to

:37:59. > :38:02.face that in this competition. Also, if you get the first one, things go

:38:03. > :38:07.one, but they couldn't manage that. Which is a concern. But you cannot

:38:08. > :38:11.win the tournament yet... I think we have played better than a lot of

:38:12. > :38:15.people expected us to do. We've made more chances. We haven't scored

:38:16. > :38:19.them, with the quality of strikers we have, I accept that, but overall

:38:20. > :38:26.I think we are moving forward. Finishing second shouldn't harm us

:38:27. > :38:34.that much. So many positives to look at the England team with. They were

:38:35. > :38:38.dominant from the first minute. Roy Hodgson has made the changes people

:38:39. > :38:43.wanted in front of the pitch. They are the ones that let us down. I

:38:44. > :38:48.know you were transfixed to the Welsh victory, but you just saw the

:38:49. > :38:51.highlights there. A striker's life, you know it well, it isn't easy when

:38:52. > :38:57.there are that many bodies in the box. It is difficult when they put

:38:58. > :39:02.all of the bodies in there to create the space you need. But they were

:39:03. > :39:11.creating chances. I am with Alan, the changes and settled things. I've

:39:12. > :39:14.never been a fan of it. Euro 96, second game, we beat Scotland, very

:39:15. > :39:19.similar to England beating Wales the other day, we go into the next game,

:39:20. > :39:22.against Holland, and we put in a magnificent game because of the

:39:23. > :39:25.confidence after beating Scotland. I thought it was an opportunity for

:39:26. > :39:34.Roy Hodgson to do that tonight with this England team. Not absolute

:39:35. > :39:38.sitters. Particularly in the first half. Henderson, over the top, that

:39:39. > :39:43.was the one occasion that they played high on Jamie Vardy. They

:39:44. > :39:47.used him and his pace. The passing from Henderson was superb. On his

:39:48. > :39:53.left foot. He tries to go with pace rather than curling inside the

:39:54. > :40:00.goalkeeper. We worked the flank well on this occasion. Goalkeeper's

:40:01. > :40:05.height, isn't it, it goes lower. The one thing missing from his game.

:40:06. > :40:11.That is the one thing missing from everybody's game. 64 shots and three

:40:12. > :40:16.goals. That tells its own story. I think this should have been a

:40:17. > :40:20.penalty. He has every right to go down. He has clipped his legs,

:40:21. > :40:25.Nathaniel Clyne The Miz stays on his feet, if he is too honest... He

:40:26. > :40:38.should have given the penalty, the official. -- Nathaniel Clyne, he

:40:39. > :40:43.stays on his feet. Very unlucky. It is unlikely to get it into the box

:40:44. > :40:47.and it hasn't gone in. If you use your bad luck now, the good luck

:40:48. > :40:58.might come in the knockout stages, who knows. Eric Dyer, into storage,

:40:59. > :41:02.and again, they should score. -- Dier. I was pleased with the first

:41:03. > :41:05.half performance, but I didn't see any urgency in the second half. I

:41:06. > :41:16.was pretty disappointed with the second half. Positive performances

:41:17. > :41:21.for England, Danny, Dier? CHUCKLES

:41:22. > :41:24.I couldn't resist. This is what you want from a holding midfielder.

:41:25. > :41:29.Somebody who can open the team up, get you on the front foot. He spots

:41:30. > :41:33.the players in those pockets. He does this brilliantly. We know that.

:41:34. > :41:40.He can see danger. Look at this for a pass... Beautiful. You would

:41:41. > :41:44.expect this from the likes of Michael Carrick. He has made that

:41:45. > :41:52.position his own. He is strong, tenacious, calm, and that... That is

:41:53. > :41:56.the type of play you expect from Wilshere or Rooney. Not a midfield

:41:57. > :42:01.player. That is a positive for Roy Hodgson. He has become our main man

:42:02. > :42:04.in the middle of the park. Other areas, talking about the midfield,

:42:05. > :42:11.because that is predominantly weather changes were made -- where

:42:12. > :42:16.the changes were made. Henderson, how do you think he did? I think he

:42:17. > :42:23.did well. He lacks quality of the final pass at times. What he did was

:42:24. > :42:27.defend. He has followed his man around the pitch. He was so good in

:42:28. > :42:33.the previous game. When he wanted to drop deep, he wouldn't let him turn.

:42:34. > :42:39.You can see him, he is just stopping him. He is always on the turn.

:42:40. > :42:42.Always looking, where is he? Obviously people talking around him

:42:43. > :42:45.and he didn't have an influence on the game. This is somebody who I

:42:46. > :42:49.thought in the last game was superb. That is what Henderson gives it with

:42:50. > :42:52.his athleticism, his discipline, he knows how to play the role. He

:42:53. > :42:57.hasn't played much football in the last few months. And I thought he

:42:58. > :43:01.lasted the game very well. This was late in the game, when he was tired,

:43:02. > :43:07.not giving him the time and space to get onto the counterattacks. Here he

:43:08. > :43:12.is again. Closing down with the help of Nathaniel Clyne. He was a part of

:43:13. > :43:19.all of the good things defensively. Did he get forward? Yes. At times he

:43:20. > :43:22.lacked a bit of quality, but he is capable, he just needs to be a bit

:43:23. > :43:32.more confident at times because he can do it. And this is probably the

:43:33. > :43:36.most unlucky one. Ten, 20 yards... So considering it is his first game

:43:37. > :43:41.in a while I thought he did really well. I have watched England now for

:43:42. > :43:44.the three games. I don't think Roy Hodgson knows his best 11 and I

:43:45. > :43:47.don't think he knows his best system. From that point of view I

:43:48. > :43:52.think that is where England are struggling. Sturridge doesn't want

:43:53. > :43:57.to play on the right-hand side. He is playing a 4-3- three, if you

:43:58. > :44:01.like. Rain sterling had a chance come he didn't take it. Sturridge

:44:02. > :44:07.wants to play down the middle, centre forward, we haven't really

:44:08. > :44:15.got any wing players, which is important. -- Raheem Sterling had a

:44:16. > :44:20.chance. Who would you play? Jamie Vardy. Harry Kane down the middle.

:44:21. > :44:23.Sturridge on the right. If you keep making the chances you are making,

:44:24. > :44:31.and I'm looking from the outside, I am Welsh, you won't score. All of

:44:32. > :44:35.the strikers, they are all kind of Central, and they? That is what I am

:44:36. > :44:41.saying. You have to have one out of position. It needs to be balanced.

:44:42. > :44:43.With Adam Lallana on the left, you can cover him Conor Henderson behind

:44:44. > :44:50.him, you can cover him when he goes inside. -- you can cover him,

:44:51. > :44:58.Henderson behind him. I think the system is OK. He actually played in

:44:59. > :45:02.a diamond, with Wayne Rooney up front, and then bringing Harry Kane

:45:03. > :45:07.on, they managed fine. It will scatter gun. Against Wales we have

:45:08. > :45:15.Marcus Rashford, Sturridge on the right... But if he doesn't change

:45:16. > :45:19.it, we are going to say that everything was predictable again.

:45:20. > :45:22.You cannot win unless you win. Will you just praised Henderson, do you

:45:23. > :45:30.think he will start in the next game? No. Neither do I. I would go

:45:31. > :45:34.with two up, and the diamond shaped with Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane.

:45:35. > :45:41.But you have got to play it properly. I think the system is

:45:42. > :45:47.working OK, leave Jamie Vardy, Sturridge, Adam Lallana...

:45:48. > :45:53.We haven't been brilliant when we have played this system. It's an

:45:54. > :46:00.opinion, I think we have played quite well in the three games. Wales

:46:01. > :46:04.have played Russia and Slovakia and scored five goals against them. But

:46:05. > :46:09.they will have a go against Wales and it is counterattack, it is

:46:10. > :46:13.different when teams sit back. If I was England I would say, try and

:46:14. > :46:16.break us down. You think the French or the Portuguese would put men

:46:17. > :46:22.behind the ball against us? Jude think we have played well? I think

:46:23. > :46:25.we have played decent football and lacked finishing touch that will

:46:26. > :46:29.come. I think we have played reasonably well, I am mildly

:46:30. > :46:32.encouraged, if that counts. So England and Wales go through and

:46:33. > :46:35.tomorrow, Northern Ireland were turned to join them. Standing in

:46:36. > :46:42.their way the world champions Germany. This is the situation in

:46:43. > :46:50.Group C. Three points might yet big enough to qualify. Let's hear from

:46:51. > :46:54.captain Stephen Davis. We are in a great position, looking forward to

:46:55. > :46:57.the game and for so long, it felt like I wasn't going to get the

:46:58. > :47:02.chance to play at this stage, so we are just cherishing being here and

:47:03. > :47:06.don't want the fairy tale to end. If beating Ukraine was the proudest

:47:07. > :47:11.moment of your career, is this the biggest challenge? It is going to be

:47:12. > :47:15.a huge test, and we are under no illusions but I think it is a game

:47:16. > :47:19.for us to look forward to and if we go out and give our all and come off

:47:20. > :47:22.with a result, there will be a lot of satisfaction and pride, but there

:47:23. > :47:25.was a lot of hard work to do. What would it mean to you and your

:47:26. > :47:30.team-mates to make it through to the knockout stages and for everybody in

:47:31. > :47:34.Northern Ireland? It would mean everything. Obviously with social

:47:35. > :47:38.media, we get to see the reaction back home and the atmosphere in the

:47:39. > :47:41.stadium the other night was unbelievable. Everybody is enjoying

:47:42. > :47:45.the moment, is proud of the country and it is great to see. Northern

:47:46. > :47:52.Ireland versus Germany is live on BBC One and the website from 4:30pm.

:47:53. > :47:56.You can catch the other game in the group on the red button. There will

:47:57. > :48:00.be highlights of all four of tomorrow's games, including Croatia

:48:01. > :48:05.and Spain. Switching sports for a moment, follow coverage of England's

:48:06. > :48:07.one-day international against Sri Lanka on the BBC sport website

:48:08. > :48:13.tomorrow, with video clips of key moments. We are out of time, the

:48:14. > :48:17.debate will go on all night. Thank you very much. That from us. In the

:48:18. > :48:24.North through to the knockout stage but Wales win the group and the

:48:25. > :48:28.drinks are on Dean Saunders -- England are through. Good night.

:48:29. > :48:45.This is it. Aaron Ramsey with a dink! Here is Vardy. Good save,

:48:46. > :49:01.Kozacik. They are in Dreamland! Lallana! Goal saving clearance.

:49:02. > :49:03.There is the man. Wales are through. And there is the man with the plan.
