:00:30. > :00:38.Hello and welcome to Match Of The Day 2 Extra on BBC Two, Five Five

:00:39. > :00:42.and the BBC sport website with me, Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam,

:00:43. > :00:46.former Northern Ireland international dash from Republic of

:00:47. > :00:51.Ireland international Kevin Kilbane and daily Mirror sports writer John

:00:52. > :00:56.Cross. This is how to get in touch and use the hashtag on social media,

:00:57. > :01:02.BBC football. Mourinho still not beaten against Arsene Wenger

:01:03. > :01:10.although a late goal from Olivier Giroud leaves Jose disappointed.

:01:11. > :01:13.Yaya Toure the main man. Spurs clinch victory over West Ham to

:01:14. > :01:21.maintain their unbeaten start to the season. The Tigers tamed and Chelsea

:01:22. > :01:26.with the chance to go top later at Middlesbrough. This is what some of

:01:27. > :01:30.the papers are saying, the Observer has Wayne Rooney branding his

:01:31. > :01:35.treatment by the media this week is disgraceful, the Sun on Sunday says

:01:36. > :01:39.his fellow England stars Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson was

:01:40. > :01:43.seen at a strip club in Bournemouth, although without Kevin Kilbane, we

:01:44. > :01:48.can confirm! What was the same night as Rooney. More about that, the FA

:01:49. > :01:52.is also planning to speak to Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard about

:01:53. > :01:56.coaching roles in the national team setup, Steven Gerrard heavily linked

:01:57. > :02:02.with the manager 's job at MK Dons. The big game at Old Trafford

:02:03. > :02:04.yesterday finished 1-1, Mourinho keeping his unbeaten record against

:02:05. > :02:09.Arsene Wenger in the Premier League although he says it felt like a

:02:10. > :02:13.defeat. I am very sad for the players and fans. The feeling is

:02:14. > :02:18.good, the empathy is good, I know that last season Manchester United

:02:19. > :02:23.won is matches at home and people were leaving the stadium ten minutes

:02:24. > :02:28.before, they were not happy with the kind of performance, the kind of

:02:29. > :02:32.football. This season we have had three consecutive draws at home, and

:02:33. > :02:38.people are not happy with the result but they are with the team, then the

:02:39. > :02:42.direction we are going in. But football is made of points, in the

:02:43. > :02:48.end, they are the most important thing and the reality is that we had

:02:49. > :02:53.these two matches at home. John Cross, you were at Old Trafford

:02:54. > :02:57.yesterday. Jose Mourinho with the unluckiest team in the Premier

:02:58. > :03:02.League? He seems to go on about is how they don't got what they

:03:03. > :03:06.deserve, you don't come in football. Every manager thinks he is the

:03:07. > :03:09.unluckiest in the world! I have some sympathy with him although yesterday

:03:10. > :03:15.Manchester United could not say that. At 1-0 they were so dominant,

:03:16. > :03:19.they absolutely bossed the game from start to finish and they had to win

:03:20. > :03:24.it. They were running out. There was only one team in it, Arsenal game

:03:25. > :03:27.did not show up to a big game, that's got to be a concern if you

:03:28. > :03:31.are pushing for the title and that is the ambition this season, they

:03:32. > :03:35.were outclassed by Manchester United, Ander Herrera was the best

:03:36. > :03:42.on the pitch, they did not kill the game off. It gave Arsenal are

:03:43. > :03:44.licensed to get back into the game, two great substitute performances

:03:45. > :03:49.from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Bolivia Giroud, Manchester United

:03:50. > :03:51.will kick themselves. Charlie, you watched the game. If you Mac we

:03:52. > :03:59.watched in the dressing room before the game. It was a surprise, the

:04:00. > :04:05.quality they've got, that was the major disappointment. Mourinho is a

:04:06. > :04:10.top manager and it will take time. The expectation at Manchester United

:04:11. > :04:15.is that you have to win every game. He hasn't been able to keep these

:04:16. > :04:19.clean sheets, has he? Historically he would win a game like that. He

:04:20. > :04:22.hasn't found that yet with Manchester United, they are

:04:23. > :04:27.conceding sloppy goals, even towards the end of his reign at Chelsea they

:04:28. > :04:30.did that. I don't know if the players are not taking on board what

:04:31. > :04:36.he is saying to them but we haven't seen that at Manchester United yet,

:04:37. > :04:43.because normally in his career he would have won at 1-0. Bringing back

:04:44. > :04:48.Michael Carrick is a key player. He steadied the ship. Ander Herrera row

:04:49. > :04:53.has played really well since Mourinho has come in. He's been a

:04:54. > :04:59.different player. He steadied the ship and allows others to play. Why

:05:00. > :05:05.did it take them so long to bring him back? He's a quality player. The

:05:06. > :05:13.way he sits there, sees all the play and dictates, it was almost like a

:05:14. > :05:18.four 141 yesterday, United were great and the balance in midfield

:05:19. > :05:22.got the best out of Paul Pogba. When you arrive with an ?89 million price

:05:23. > :05:25.tag on your head and brings a different level of expectation and

:05:26. > :05:29.you will be judged differently and sometimes he has fallen below that.

:05:30. > :05:34.I thought it was a good performance from him yesterday. I thought

:05:35. > :05:40.Manchester United were about that power and pace. Mata played so well

:05:41. > :05:43.as well. I don't think to get the best out of Paul Pogba he should

:05:44. > :05:47.play besides somebody, I think you have to keep the three in there, the

:05:48. > :05:52.holding midfielder and one on the side and him on the left. He has the

:05:53. > :05:59.pace and power to run with the ball as well. Mourinho realises that is

:06:00. > :06:03.the formation to go with, it could be a dominant force in the next few

:06:04. > :06:08.weeks. They are still behind with a should be, as their fans would say.

:06:09. > :06:13.They expect Manchester United to be right at the top challenging. They

:06:14. > :06:17.are challenging top four but I think they will fall short. Mourinho said

:06:18. > :06:21.it himself, they will not win the league this year. That's the

:06:22. > :06:26.problem, a lot of Manchester United fans are trying to take on board

:06:27. > :06:29.that they've spent all this money in the last few years, the highest-paid

:06:30. > :06:35.team in the world and they can't sustain a title challenge. It's just

:06:36. > :06:41.taking time for Mourinho to get these methods over. There's a lot to

:06:42. > :06:46.take from yesterday, a lot of positives, how much they dominated

:06:47. > :06:49.the game and took it to Arsenal. In the Stoke game this season they

:06:50. > :06:53.played quite well and created so many chances, they did not win the

:06:54. > :06:59.game and they received criticism for conceding one goal against Stoke. I

:07:00. > :07:04.think there have been positives this season, aside progressing but it is

:07:05. > :07:08.just defensively that they need a couple of centre halves summer just

:07:09. > :07:14.to come in there... Phil Jones hasn't played all season, there were

:07:15. > :07:17.three out of four who haven't played all season so not a lot of game time

:07:18. > :07:25.in them. Chris Smalling is missing as well. It will take them time, I

:07:26. > :07:28.have been really surprised at their young player, who has been a very

:07:29. > :07:33.good signing for them and he's been excellent so far, as soon as they

:07:34. > :07:40.get everyone back fit they will be winning games. Mourinho arrived and

:07:41. > :07:45.said, I'm going for the title. He's a winner and we want to win every

:07:46. > :07:50.game. But what they want to win every game. I respect and admire

:07:51. > :07:54.that but he has looked at it and realised again yesterday he was

:07:55. > :07:58.talking about how it will take him a year or so, and all the other

:07:59. > :08:05.coaches, we even mentioned Antonio Conte. He arrived at the same time

:08:06. > :08:10.as Mourinho. Manchester United, it's all about trying to finish in the

:08:11. > :08:13.top four, for me because the title is out of reach but the team still

:08:14. > :08:19.needs major surgery defensively. What options have they got up front?

:08:20. > :08:25.Zlatan was missing yesterday and he's still a big player for them. He

:08:26. > :08:30.is at an age where you've got to get at least one striker. The title is

:08:31. > :08:34.out of reach, says Kevin, do Arsenal have to be bolder against title

:08:35. > :08:42.rivals? One shot, one Dole yesterday. Unlike Arsenal, where

:08:43. > :08:49.they score goals, you actually force them wide because they don't cross

:08:50. > :08:53.the ball. They continue to come back into the strength of the team when

:08:54. > :08:56.they are defensively lined up. Yesterday is a break from the

:08:57. > :09:01.non-Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain went wide, beat Rashford easily and put

:09:02. > :09:14.across. As a kid growing up that was a great goal to see. We're talking

:09:15. > :09:18.about Arsenal at Old Trafford, Manchester United have been a

:09:19. > :09:21.dominant force over the last years, we talked about Arsenal trying to

:09:22. > :09:25.dominate the game, it won't happen. Sometimes you realise that when you

:09:26. > :09:29.go to these places... As Mourinho says he never wants to get beaten in

:09:30. > :09:33.the League 1, you will take one point, OK Arsenal next point but it

:09:34. > :09:38.is important that sometimes you realise where you will be playing.

:09:39. > :09:43.Old Trafford, a big stadium, it's a difficult place to get a result. I

:09:44. > :09:48.want your falls, Charlie Adam, on Wayne Rooney. He said interesting

:09:49. > :09:53.things after the game about his treatment by the media -- want your

:09:54. > :09:57.thoughts. He felt the media were trying to write his obituary. He

:09:58. > :10:02.won't let that happen. Your thoughts before we talk about Adam Lallana

:10:03. > :10:08.and Henderson. He's spot on. His captain of his country. He has been

:10:09. > :10:14.one of the top players for England for a number of years. OK, he's had

:10:15. > :10:18.a drink. So what? He's in a hotel, trying to do the right thing by

:10:19. > :10:22.staying in a hotel because he's a professional. England staff were

:10:23. > :10:28.there as well. Pictures have been taken and got out into the media. I

:10:29. > :10:32.think it is a disgrace, and he's trying to do the right thing by

:10:33. > :10:46.staying in a hotel and having a drink, we have all been there. Once

:10:47. > :10:50.tries! What are your duties? In the past we would meet on a Sunday and

:10:51. > :10:52.have some drinks because the lads had played all weekend, the manager

:10:53. > :10:56.would allow it although it would never happen in the week. I don't

:10:57. > :11:00.think the England lads are drinking in the week. They've had a game,

:11:01. > :11:07.finished, got back to the hotel at 12 o'clock and is having a couple of

:11:08. > :11:11.drinks, what's wrong with that? You are the disgrace, John! I do think

:11:12. > :11:20.some of the criticism of Rooney this week has been over the top and I've

:11:21. > :11:22.been vocal about it. Looking back on his career he will go down as one of

:11:23. > :11:26.England's all-time greats. Because he conducts himself well, here's a

:11:27. > :11:32.brilliant talent. Arguably he's made a mistake here. He has apologised so

:11:33. > :11:34.he obviously accepts that. From my perspective one I've had dealings

:11:35. > :11:42.with him he's been very approachable and sociable. -- when I've had

:11:43. > :11:45.dealings with him. Friendly. Ironically he stayed indoors to be

:11:46. > :11:50.out of the spotlight. He tried to do the right thing and it backfired. If

:11:51. > :11:59.Gareth Southgate or someone in the hotel said to him, time to go to

:12:00. > :12:02.bed, that's a different story. We don't know the facts. The fact is

:12:03. > :12:06.that if he went to his local pub and Hudson some beers he isn't doing

:12:07. > :12:11.something wrong although he is probably more vulnerable because

:12:12. > :12:14.he's out. Here, he stayed in a hotel, I have done it while on

:12:15. > :12:18.international duty, we've had a singsong and a laugh and some drinks

:12:19. > :12:22.in the bar and that's been it. Nothing wrong with it. It won't

:12:23. > :12:28.affect the performance on Tuesday the matter what the sport scientists

:12:29. > :12:39.say. It won't affect the importance. He probably played Z Cars on the

:12:40. > :12:42.piano, we must ask the guests. Friday night was the game, Saturday

:12:43. > :12:46.night you are of committees to is the next game, is it acceptable to

:12:47. > :12:53.drink until 5am is a professional athlete? What time did he have his

:12:54. > :12:58.drink, 1am? Gareth Southgate says it is OK. It is not like he sneaked

:12:59. > :13:02.somewhere. He's allowed it to happen, it is not just Wayne

:13:03. > :13:06.Rooney's fraud, the manager must take some blame, or the FA must

:13:07. > :13:11.apologise, they allowed it to happen. The staff and other players

:13:12. > :13:16.were there. They were with him. It is what happens. It is just filling

:13:17. > :13:23.newspapers. And so is this, on the front of the Sun on Sunday England

:13:24. > :13:27.stars at a strip club. Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson visiting a

:13:28. > :13:31.strip club on the night that Wayne Rooney was boozing until 5am and

:13:32. > :13:35.this was in Bournemouth, Kevin. That all fits into the argument that

:13:36. > :13:40.Wayne Rooney has been responsible by staying in the team hotel while the

:13:41. > :13:44.others went out. I've never frequented a place like that, that

:13:45. > :13:49.is not just me. I would stay in a hotel bar and have a few drinks.

:13:50. > :13:54.This is another thing, going back to the Wayne Rooney issue, he tried to

:13:55. > :13:57.do it right, the lads had a night off, they are within their rights to

:13:58. > :14:02.have a night out. We've talked about the English, British, Irish culture,

:14:03. > :14:06.whatever it is, they say that this is ingrained in the player 's

:14:07. > :14:09.culture and it is happening in Germany, Spain and every other

:14:10. > :14:15.league in the world. Rugby players do it, sports men and women to it

:14:16. > :14:20.but because their profile is so high they will get the brunt of that,

:14:21. > :14:24.that is the way it is. Paul has been in touch saying they should leave

:14:25. > :14:29.Wayne Rooney alone, he does not get the credit he deserves on or off the

:14:30. > :14:32.pitch. Neal said, it's not a big issue, he went to a wedding,

:14:33. > :14:38.probably made the couple's day, they will never forget it,. Phillips is,

:14:39. > :14:43.don't go out and act the way you did, do it when you retire! They are

:14:44. > :14:48.not robots, you have to enjoy yourself. There is a lot of pressure

:14:49. > :14:51.on them. Natalie says that if historically he had behaved in a

:14:52. > :14:57.more mature and gentlemanly fashion the media would be less harsh. I

:14:58. > :15:00.don't think that is a fair accusation, he has gone up a level

:15:01. > :15:07.since he's been captain. If you look at how mature he has been since

:15:08. > :15:11.taking on the armband he doesn't see it as a responsibility. He has posed

:15:12. > :15:14.for pictures and there's a lesson in the fridge, don't do that. He will

:15:15. > :15:19.have learned a harsh lesson from that -- there's a lesson in the

:15:20. > :15:24.future. He's been a good England leader. When you hear Rooney speak,

:15:25. > :15:28.I did a press Conference when England played France at Wembley

:15:29. > :15:31.after the Paris terror attacks, you would not hear a player speak better

:15:32. > :15:36.than Rooney did, he was respectful, he caught the mood, he has been a

:15:37. > :15:39.great captain. I think we lose sight of the fact sometimes of just what a

:15:40. > :15:50.great player he has been. I think he has been to mature on the

:15:51. > :15:54.pitch and guidance and. People said, when he matures, he'll be

:15:55. > :16:00.unbelievable. When he has taken a cloud of his game, he's probably

:16:01. > :16:05.lost the real Wayne Rooney. You can't have it both ways sometimes

:16:06. > :16:08.and that is the problem. Let's talk about another man who has had to

:16:09. > :16:13.apologise, Yaya Toure to Pep Guardiola. Yaya Toure was in the

:16:14. > :16:22.starting line-up for Manchester United today and scored two goals as

:16:23. > :16:26.they got their result. I am so happy for him. He is a nice guy. His

:16:27. > :16:33.weight is perfect now and there is no doubt about his quality. In the

:16:34. > :16:38.beginning, we decided... We didn't count on him. He would not be here,

:16:39. > :16:45.he would be... We didn't know his personality quality. He can play

:16:46. > :16:51.many positions and I'm so happy for him and for his family and, of

:16:52. > :16:59.course, we have one more man to help us to achieve our target this year.

:17:00. > :17:04.Do Pep Guardiola... You have a wry smile on your face! I love that

:17:05. > :17:10.interview. He's been out of the team for so long. He is paying lip

:17:11. > :17:16.service. I think Gary Hattori is a fantastic guy. -- Yaya Toure. He was

:17:17. > :17:20.bursting into the box, he's got power, pace, smashes it into the top

:17:21. > :17:24.corner and that is what you are your Tory is about. Clearly there has

:17:25. > :17:29.been a bit of an issue. He does leaner and fitter and I think it is

:17:30. > :17:36.the fact that they are all in black, which is good for the fuller figure,

:17:37. > :17:41.shall we say... I think he's a great player and there have been issues

:17:42. > :17:45.with him and his agent by Manchester City. I think it has been a waste of

:17:46. > :17:53.a world-class talent and a very sad reflection. You have played against

:17:54. > :17:59.him. What's he like? A difficult opponent. Big, strong, powerful. He

:18:00. > :18:02.can score a goal as well. In that spell, he was scoring free kick

:18:03. > :18:08.after free kick every week and he is a big player to have back in the

:18:09. > :18:12.squad. As Guardiola said, being in the league is their aim and with

:18:13. > :18:17.someone like Toure there, it will help. Do you think he is back for

:18:18. > :18:20.good? I do think he is but the good and you can't underestimate the

:18:21. > :18:24.impact that will have on the team spirit. You can see what it meant to

:18:25. > :18:28.have him back aside and what it meant everyone within the squad and

:18:29. > :18:33.with the whole coaching staff and everything. I think you'll have a

:18:34. > :18:40.huge impact. It is a type that they need in the game. Palace equalised.

:18:41. > :18:44.-- a tonic that they need. They have maybe crumbled a bit. They have not

:18:45. > :18:49.been able to get that second goal. Yaya Toure gives you that sparked it

:18:50. > :18:52.up with that is what he is going to give to them on a regular basis

:18:53. > :18:56.under Guardiola, he can't not play him. Let's move onto Vincent Kompany

:18:57. > :18:59.because I spoke to Pep Guardiola after the game and he said he was

:19:00. > :19:03.concussed, which is good news because it is not his par-4 knee or

:19:04. > :19:10.a troublesome injury. Is enough enough? Well, if it is concussion,

:19:11. > :19:15.that is a good sign. These injuries keep happening so there has got to

:19:16. > :19:22.be something where there are problems or the training methods or

:19:23. > :19:24.something has to do be looked at. Maybe his body just can't take the

:19:25. > :19:30.physical demands of the Premier League. We don't know. I've got some

:19:31. > :19:36.sympathy with him. It must be heartbreaking to be that good and be

:19:37. > :19:41.a great leader and then it is not related... This latest one is a

:19:42. > :19:44.freak injury, a collision. Or is it related? Was because he was rushed

:19:45. > :19:48.in the way he approached that situation with the goalkeeper? I

:19:49. > :19:54.don't think so. I think it was a freak collision. I've not seen it

:19:55. > :20:00.because we had a game. Someone like Paul McGrath played for the last 15,

:20:01. > :20:02.30 years, these are players that are world-class defenders that couldn't

:20:03. > :20:10.train. They weren't training Monday to Friday. A player can't do that

:20:11. > :20:13.now. They can't get away with not training Monday to Friday. Guardiola

:20:14. > :20:17.would not pick him. He needs a manager that could do that to him

:20:18. > :20:23.but could he sustain that going into that physicality? For Crystal

:20:24. > :20:26.Palace, a fifth straight defeat and you heard Alan Shearer say last

:20:27. > :20:31.night, 0.71, the lowest points average of all the top four leagues

:20:32. > :20:34.in England. Let's hear from their manager Alan Pardew. We've got some

:20:35. > :20:38.games coming up that probably we've got chance of winning but we now

:20:39. > :20:42.need to put ourselves under pressure. We needed a result today

:20:43. > :20:46.to give ourselves a lift and we haven't had that so we've got to get

:20:47. > :20:50.back to the training room, get back to making sure the messages get on

:20:51. > :20:54.the pitch and people do their jobs, simple things, and the rest will

:20:55. > :20:59.take care of itself. The dressing room is strong and determined, like

:21:00. > :21:04.you are? Everyone is determined? The dressing room is angry because they

:21:05. > :21:08.want to put it right, there's no doubt about that. There were a few

:21:09. > :21:12.words said at the end from me and the players and we're fighting and

:21:13. > :21:15.we're going to have to make sure that between now and Christmas we

:21:16. > :21:21.pick up some points. The points average over the calendar year,

:21:22. > :21:26.anger, Alan Pardew said. Does it help? It does. You need emotion. We

:21:27. > :21:36.went through a spell where we lost a few games in a row 4-0. You need to

:21:37. > :21:39.stick together and we knew we had the quality in the dressing room, it

:21:40. > :21:43.was just a matter of time when it was going to happen. Luckily, it

:21:44. > :21:49.changed. We have a spell where we played Sunderland, Hull city and

:21:50. > :21:55.Swansea and we won all three of them. Apart from yesterday, we lost

:21:56. > :21:59.a game that we should have won, but you need that fight and that burning

:22:00. > :22:03.desire in your belly that some people need a few home truths. No

:22:04. > :22:07.clean sheets since April for Crystal Palace. Cheney on Facebook as a

:22:08. > :22:16.question. You can't say Newcastle fans didn't warn us. Pardue

:22:17. > :22:19.absolutely clueless. That is not a question, it is a statement! Last

:22:20. > :22:25.season I had an awful run but what do Palace fans remember? It was

:22:26. > :22:31.reaching the FA Cup final. It was a really tough ask. I think in all the

:22:32. > :22:35.games, we saw a few weeks ago against Liverpool, they are in that

:22:36. > :22:39.game. They are scoring goals, creating chances. I don't think they

:22:40. > :22:44.are a hopeless case. If you ask experts and fans alike, not many

:22:45. > :22:47.would say Palace will go down. It is not great but I do think Alan Pardew

:22:48. > :22:51.is still a manager who will turn things around and they are creating

:22:52. > :22:55.chances and scoring goals but the former is a massive worry. But I

:22:56. > :22:58.think you look at the squad and there is creativity, quality going

:22:59. > :23:02.forward. The thing that strikes me when I look at them is the defence.

:23:03. > :23:06.Defensively, I'm not sure about the quality in the back four and I think

:23:07. > :23:12.they have conceded far too many goals. How they were in the

:23:13. > :23:15.Liverpool game, I don't know, because Liverpool were magnificent

:23:16. > :23:22.but they still looked a threat. They were playing to Ben techie's

:23:23. > :23:27.strength. -- Christian Benteke's strength. Five games unbeaten now.

:23:28. > :23:30.They've gone five games, five losses on the bounce, and I think looking

:23:31. > :23:36.at them and you get on those runs and it is difficult to turn it

:23:37. > :23:40.round. We've all been on them and it is difficult to reverse that. You

:23:41. > :23:43.concede a goal and it is like the end of the world when you concede

:23:44. > :23:46.one goal and that is what has happened with Palace at the moment.

:23:47. > :23:50.That second goal yesterday was a killer for them and it is difficult

:23:51. > :23:56.to reverse. Staying in London, you were at White Hart Lane yesterday. A

:23:57. > :24:04.combat the Tottenham 32 against West Ham. Three games unbeaten and the

:24:05. > :24:08.last time they did that was 1960/61. They weren't great yesterday. By got

:24:09. > :24:12.out of jail towards the end of the game. First off, they were awful,

:24:13. > :24:16.about 70 present possession but created nothing. West Ham were the

:24:17. > :24:21.more threatening side. All of a sudden, they come out at half-time.

:24:22. > :24:25.It was right at the half of the time, Johnson went and closed

:24:26. > :24:30.another player down under got the crowd up. They got them back on the

:24:31. > :24:33.front foot, created a few chances, got back again but once they concede

:24:34. > :24:37.the penalty, it looked to me like, here we go again, the same old

:24:38. > :24:42.Tottenham. They didn't look like they were going to be able to break

:24:43. > :24:45.West Ham down. All three came from the right-hand side it up they were

:24:46. > :24:49.good going forward with Antonio but he struggles when he gets in

:24:50. > :24:54.one-on-one positions. The voice of Kevin Kilbane, if you're listening

:24:55. > :24:58.on Radio 5 live. John, where are we up to on this hurricane contract?

:24:59. > :25:03.Yesterday Pochettino said he is one of the best strikers in the world.

:25:04. > :25:11.Where are we up to on his contract? 50 grand a week he earns at the

:25:12. > :25:15.moment. By saying that, he is one of the best strikers in the world, and

:25:16. > :25:22.dumped arguably by current standards should be earning in excess of

:25:23. > :25:27.?150,000 a week, ?150,000 more. -- ?100,000 more. I don't think there

:25:28. > :25:30.is any chance the Tottenham chairman, a notoriously good wheeler

:25:31. > :25:35.in dealer, very tight on contracts, wants to go over six figures in the

:25:36. > :25:39.market. They will have to pay to keep him. I think they will and that

:25:40. > :25:43.is why they have delayed contract talks to the end of the season.

:25:44. > :25:46.There is no doubt that Harry Caine wants to stay at Tottenham for the

:25:47. > :25:50.long-term but he also knows, obviously, that he could earn far

:25:51. > :25:55.more elsewhere. He is one of the best strikers. Why did Spurs win the

:25:56. > :25:59.game? One man, hurricane. That is why he is worth his weight in gold

:26:00. > :26:06.it och Pochettino has said to him not to look at other people's wages.

:26:07. > :26:10.You must do that! He is the best player so he should be paid the

:26:11. > :26:13.best. If I was Tottenham, I would sign him up as quick as possible on

:26:14. > :26:21.the longest deal possible. Football in this day and age, we talk about

:26:22. > :26:28.structures. Will get blown out of the water because how much would

:26:29. > :26:32.replace -- cost to replace hurricane? The same as Wayne Rooney.

:26:33. > :26:37.Bring in someone from abroad who doesn't know the league to... It is

:26:38. > :26:43.a big risk and that is why they sign him up. Harry Kane will get what he

:26:44. > :26:47.deserves. I think it is... If I was Tottenham, I would get the contract

:26:48. > :26:52.signed and not wait till the summer. A big week for Spurs, isn't it? And

:26:53. > :26:58.they've struggled in the Champions League, struggle to get themselves

:26:59. > :27:01.back in. It has been a surprise, particularly at Wembley. They've got

:27:02. > :27:05.a good team and I thought they would win quite easily but they have

:27:06. > :27:11.struggled. I think it is a big week for them. It is where they want to

:27:12. > :27:13.be and you put yourself on that pedestal of Champions League

:27:14. > :27:19.football and that is where you got to play the big money, where Harry

:27:20. > :27:25.Kane and his like can demand that. I think Christian Eric and has

:27:26. > :27:30.struggled. He was quite poor in the match yesterday. Just a word about

:27:31. > :27:33.West Ham. Worrying to be a West Ham fan. We've talked about them all

:27:34. > :27:36.season a lot but their next three games, Manchester United, Arsenal

:27:37. > :27:41.and Liverpool. It is really worrying. I don't think they've hit

:27:42. > :27:46.form all season. People expected them to push on, having done last

:27:47. > :27:51.season so well under Slaven Bilic. I would question some of the transfers

:27:52. > :27:54.over summer. I Bessemer business was particularly ported rock they set

:27:55. > :28:01.out to make a marquee signing. That didn't happen. They had loans or

:28:02. > :28:08.smaller amounts in Premier League terms. I've seen positives from West

:28:09. > :28:11.Ham. I saw the game at the Etihad last season where they had a good

:28:12. > :28:19.structure defensively and work breaking through. That was a big

:28:20. > :28:25.positive, getting Sakho back in the game. I thought they looked better

:28:26. > :28:29.defensively. We played them the game before the international break and I

:28:30. > :28:36.was disappointed to talk especially at home. The atmosphere was flat,

:28:37. > :28:39.there was nothing... It was not the West Ham way, going to Upton Park

:28:40. > :28:48.where the crowd are on top of you and there was a buzz. I felt it was

:28:49. > :28:54.flat and paella was disappointing. -- Payet was disappointing. We felt

:28:55. > :29:00.as if we controlled the game against them the other week and that will be

:29:01. > :29:02.a major disappointment for them. It remains difficult. West Ham just

:29:03. > :29:07.above the bottom three. Let's talk about one team very much in there,

:29:08. > :29:13.Sunderland. A big game at the bottom yesterday, Sunderland beating Hull

:29:14. > :29:17.3-0. Jermain Defoe's 150th Premier League goal and two goals from

:29:18. > :29:22.Victor and it to be gave them the win, and here is David Moyes. He was

:29:23. > :29:28.like Didier Drogba at times. He was so hard to play against. If he can

:29:29. > :29:32.add goals to his game as well, it has been a bit unlucky with a couple

:29:33. > :29:35.of others. We were pleased because he has helped us and we needed

:29:36. > :29:42.something else in the team. It has not been easy but he was a handful

:29:43. > :29:47.today, that's for sure. David Moyes, your old manager, calling your old

:29:48. > :29:53.team-mate a baby dropped the. I'm not sure what he means. When Victor

:29:54. > :29:56.first came in at Everton when he was 16, 17, we couldn't believe how

:29:57. > :30:02.physical he was at that age and he is a player that has had a few

:30:03. > :30:07.injury problems. He needs a bit of love. For all the strength and brute

:30:08. > :30:11.power he has, he needs an arm around him, like so many players do. But

:30:12. > :30:14.there is a talent in there. It was an interesting signing when David

:30:15. > :30:18.Moyes got because I thought if anyone was going to get him, it

:30:19. > :30:22.would be David Moyes. He knows how to handle him, how his personality

:30:23. > :30:26.would react to different situations. Delighted for Victor because

:30:27. > :30:29.Sunderland have a player that is underestimated, has underachieved a

:30:30. > :30:33.bit in his career and I think he can go on now and really established

:30:34. > :30:34.himself and get a good partnership with Defoe because he is what

:30:35. > :30:45.Jermain Defoe needs. That is Victor Anichebe's first

:30:46. > :30:52.double since you played with him! Sunderland turning the corner?

:30:53. > :30:57.Whatever he has been doing, it's been working. In the Premier League

:30:58. > :31:02.it just needs one display like at Bournemouth with a goalkeeper kept

:31:03. > :31:05.them in the game and they won that, winning breeds confidence and they

:31:06. > :31:13.seem to be getting some confidence now. On Facebook Anthony says

:31:14. > :31:23.Sunderland had to win, they need a parachute, without Hull have been

:31:24. > :31:27.dropping. Hull's situation looks desperate, they did have chances

:31:28. > :31:32.before Sunderland took the lead and they had decent chances late on but

:31:33. > :31:36.if momentum is all-important for Sunderland it also works the other

:31:37. > :31:41.way and they just can't get out of that rut, Hull City at the moment,

:31:42. > :31:45.they made a terrific start, everyone applauding them but we all said,

:31:46. > :31:49.they have to make significant investment because the squad is not

:31:50. > :31:53.strong or deep enough. A couple of signings already, nowhere near

:31:54. > :31:57.enough. If everyone names their favourites to go down, the first

:31:58. > :32:03.name you mention, as cruel as it sounds, is Hull City. Mike Phelan

:32:04. > :32:06.will do very well to keep them up because there's just not enough

:32:07. > :32:13.quality to keep them in the division. This win by Sunderland

:32:14. > :32:17.means Swansea on our bottom of the Premier League. So Bob Bradley,

:32:18. > :32:22.their manager, is still searching for his first win as Swansea boss.

:32:23. > :32:29.He's the first Swansea manager not to get a win, Kevin, in his first

:32:30. > :32:36.Premier League games in charge. His predecessor got four from 21. I

:32:37. > :32:40.didn't see how the flow of the game went but it sounded as if Everton

:32:41. > :32:45.were poor in the first half and Swansea dominated. They could have

:32:46. > :32:50.been ahead more than they were. When you are on top you got to put the

:32:51. > :32:53.match to bed, it goes back to what we said before, when you are at the

:32:54. > :32:59.bottom and concede a goal everything crumbles around you. They cannot

:33:00. > :33:02.break this mould. This trend they are on a moment of conceding, then

:33:03. > :33:10.dropping points. It worrying for them. Matt asks why we are giving

:33:11. > :33:14.Bradley such a bashing, he says this is not a bad result especially when

:33:15. > :33:20.most Everton fans seem to think that Ronald Koeman will turn them into a

:33:21. > :33:24.top team. Charlie, would you listen to what Bradley says, he talks a

:33:25. > :33:29.good game. Would you think he knows what he is on about? He's done a

:33:30. > :33:33.decent job with the American national team but he hasn't got bad

:33:34. > :33:38.experience in the Premier League. The players sensed that. Do they

:33:39. > :33:44.really know, the jobs that he has had have not been big and this is a

:33:45. > :33:52.tough job to have. Like Kevin said, it just seems... Can he play

:33:53. > :33:57.different ways, grind out a result, set out a different site like Sam

:33:58. > :34:03.Allardyce and do that, I'm not sure he's got the mouse. I feel Swansea

:34:04. > :34:07.have only one way of playing. You know that they will try to pass it

:34:08. > :34:14.through the lines. They don't want to go direct. Play that long ball,

:34:15. > :34:19.they just want to keep playing the same way. He needs to be able to

:34:20. > :34:25.play in a different way to get a result. If I was Bob Bradley I would

:34:26. > :34:31.be seriously worried because Garry Monk was sacked too soon. Francesco

:34:32. > :34:34.Guido Lynn was sacked too soon and that lack of stability at a club

:34:35. > :34:40.does no one any favours. Bradley must be worried about it. I don't

:34:41. > :34:44.think he's got a top-class experience, he has been an

:34:45. > :34:48.international manager but not at a top club. The players will be

:34:49. > :34:57.thinking, if he is here for the long term? -- is easier for the long

:34:58. > :35:03.term? They want their own man and he is an American. They say they had

:35:04. > :35:11.never met him before. It'll be a difficult job to keep him up. He

:35:12. > :35:15.said that they were in a crisis and Bradley was reacting to that. Crisis

:35:16. > :35:20.is too strong a word but there is uneasiness about the manager. And

:35:21. > :35:27.there have been a couple of incidents with the managers, when we

:35:28. > :35:30.played them the other week, if you stop Gylfi Sigurdsson you stop the

:35:31. > :35:34.whole team. They've got to find a different way to get results like

:35:35. > :35:39.David Moyes add Sunderland, they know how to win. They have the most

:35:40. > :35:45.experience of getting a run going over the last few years, it'll be

:35:46. > :35:50.interesting to watch it. Yesterday you played 90 minutes, Stoke against

:35:51. > :35:54.Bournemouth, a defeat at home but a very good spell for you before that.

:35:55. > :36:00.We did not start well, we would disappointing. -- we were

:36:01. > :36:05.disappointing. And they should have had a penalty, even I can say that.

:36:06. > :36:11.It was a stonewall penalty. They passed well and did a job on us,

:36:12. > :36:16.they never really... In the second half we were much better and created

:36:17. > :36:21.chances and if we had won the Game 4-1 it probably would have been

:36:22. > :36:25.justified. But this is the Premier League and if you don't turn up for

:36:26. > :36:31.the first 45 minutes you can get the game taken away from you. Today 4pm

:36:32. > :36:34.kick off Chelsea travel to Middlesbrough, Chelsea top of the

:36:35. > :36:39.Premier League with a win at the Riverside, Eden Hazard was the

:36:40. > :36:44.Premier League Player of the Month for October and he's been speaking

:36:45. > :36:49.to Juliet. We've played a lot of good games, we are almost on top and

:36:50. > :36:55.we want to stay top, I hope I can continue like this. What do you put

:36:56. > :37:00.this down to? After Arsenal were changed the system and now it is

:37:01. > :37:04.better. To rewind to last season when things were not going well what

:37:05. > :37:11.was your relationship like with Jose Mourinho? It was the same as last

:37:12. > :37:16.season, for him it is difficult to lose a game because in his career he

:37:17. > :37:25.wins all the time. S we were together at the top. We suffered

:37:26. > :37:30.together. When he left you send him a text, do you still communicate

:37:31. > :37:34.with him? Sent a message just to say good luck. I hope that he can win

:37:35. > :37:40.some games, not too many because we want Chelsea to be champions! We

:37:41. > :37:44.want to be top again. What is the challenge for you, a couple of years

:37:45. > :37:50.ago everybody thought you were the best player in the world. I am still

:37:51. > :37:59.young, only 25! I want to be the best, it is not in my head at all, I

:38:00. > :38:02.want to enjoy it and if I can be the best I will be, if not, it's not a

:38:03. > :38:06.problem. I just want to play. I don't want to be like Lionel Messi

:38:07. > :38:12.or Ronaldo, I just want to be me and be the best. John did not believe a

:38:13. > :38:15.word that Pep Guardiola was saying. A bit of an excuse, change the

:38:16. > :38:22.formation and everything will change? I think that Antonio Conte

:38:23. > :38:25.has told him, you are my best player, we want everything to go

:38:26. > :38:30.through you and it has changed the whole way he played. Last season he

:38:31. > :38:37.was below what he had achieved before and this season he is a top

:38:38. > :38:41.player... Like Kevin said before, the manager giving an arm around you

:38:42. > :38:47.and saying, you are my best player, I want you to perform, and he's done

:38:48. > :38:50.that. I think there's less responsibility if you play

:38:51. > :38:53.defensively, he has said, stay in the final third, play in the

:38:54. > :38:58.positions you want to and get forward with less responsibility and

:38:59. > :39:02.it is suiting him. Don't underestimate the aspect that Diego

:39:03. > :39:06.Costa has on that side, he's my favourite player to watch in the

:39:07. > :39:12.legal bar none. Rings spark to every game. Some might not like it but 99

:39:13. > :39:18.out of every 100 players can't do what Eden Hazard does what Lionel

:39:19. > :39:23.Messi or Ronaldo. Diego Costa brings something to Chelsea that not many

:39:24. > :39:28.other strikers can provide. -- he brings spark. This is why I like him

:39:29. > :39:33.so much. He gives Chelsea so much. He's great to watch. I love the fact

:39:34. > :39:38.that he said this week that he would not leave Chelsea until they won the

:39:39. > :39:44.Premier League game. He's put himself out there. Or until Mourinho

:39:45. > :39:49.comes back! He's been linked because he's such a great player, with

:39:50. > :39:53.big-money deals abroad, and frustration but I think he feels

:39:54. > :40:00.loyalty. They've been good for him Chelsea and he is good for them.

:40:01. > :40:06.Where would he go? Paris? Would he get a game at Real Madrid with

:40:07. > :40:12.Ronaldo and Gareth Bale? I'd be surprised. Can he be a great, in the

:40:13. > :40:16.sense of players like Lionel Messi or Ronaldo? I think those two are on

:40:17. > :40:23.a different level from everyone else and he's in the same bracket as

:40:24. > :40:27.Gareth Bale, he could be great at Chelsea, I think that could be good

:40:28. > :40:33.enough. To see where he can go, I think it would be difficult to leave

:40:34. > :40:39.and go anywhere else. Today is big in the grand scheme of things, going

:40:40. > :40:43.to Middlesbrough with the chance to go top, psychologically important.

:40:44. > :40:46.It will definitely bring defensive structure to the side, that is what

:40:47. > :40:50.Aitor Karanka has done with his side, they will maybe try to stifle

:40:51. > :40:55.Chelsea today. They did that at Arsenal and they could have one,

:40:56. > :40:59.probably should have one. Sorry, Manchester City. And I saw them

:41:00. > :41:04.against Watford about a month ago and they quite poor. They couldn't

:41:05. > :41:08.break Watford town. It will set them today, it will be a better game for

:41:09. > :41:25.them to try to go to sit deep and get on the break a bit. Yaya Toure
