:01:04. > :01:08.For 81 years, the last Saturday in June has meant just one thing to

:01:08. > :01:13.motor cycling fan, it is the Dutch TT here at Assen. As you can see

:01:13. > :01:17.behind me, fans have made their annual pilgrimage for all across

:01:17. > :01:20.Europe to the place their call the Cathedral. I am glad to say the

:01:20. > :01:25.Brits out out in force. The weather is not looking too great at the

:01:25. > :01:32.moment, hopefully it will make up for a miserable weekend at

:01:32. > :01:37.Silverstone last time out. This crash result in the a bloken

:01:37. > :01:47.collarbone for Cal Crutchlow and no British ride for the home fans to

:01:47. > :01:54.get behind on a soggy race day. Casey Stoner showed his pro-pros we

:01:54. > :02:00.in the wet and took the lead. Jorge Lorenzo lost control. Lorenzo is

:02:00. > :02:04.down. The World Champion is down. It is in bits. The M1 Yamaha is

:02:04. > :02:12.It is in bits. The M1 Yamaha is broken and he is out. Simoncelli

:02:12. > :02:19.has gone! Maybe it was when not if but Simoncelli is down. Simoncelli

:02:19. > :02:23.and Ben Spies failed to finish which lifted Colin Edwards up to a

:02:23. > :02:33.popular podium. Colin Edwards, a legend. Gets a podium. Hospital one

:02:33. > :02:38.

:02:38. > :02:43.What a fantastic performance that was from Colin Edwards, just nine

:02:43. > :02:47.days after breaking his collarbone in Barcelona and there he was on

:02:47. > :02:50.the podium at Silverstone where his team-mate Cal Crutchlow missed out

:02:50. > :02:55.on the race. I am delighted to say he is back for this one. Carl, it

:02:55. > :02:58.has been a tough couple of weeks but I won't give away your grip

:02:58. > :03:03.position just yet but fantastic over the weekend. You must have

:03:03. > :03:08.been in so much pain. It wasn't too bad. We had two dry sessions

:03:08. > :03:13.yesterday, and, one was an hour- and-a-half long and one was an hour,

:03:13. > :03:17.so it is quite sore today. I don't know, we are go into the race and

:03:17. > :03:23.see what we can do. I was happy with how things went, wet and dry,

:03:23. > :03:27.we will see what the weather brings for the race. Good luck today. So

:03:27. > :03:32.Cal Crutchlow then, will be coming this way, in just a couple of

:03:32. > :03:36.minutes time. Through the garage, into the back here. This is where

:03:36. > :03:39.they keep the tyres warm at the back. Where I like to keep my hands

:03:39. > :03:44.warm on a cold day. You can see the sprairs and the tools are kept

:03:44. > :03:47.round here at the back of the garage as well. Then through here

:03:47. > :03:52.this is the walk thatical will be doing in a few minutes time. -- Cal.

:03:52. > :03:56.Here to make a seat to make his final preparations before the race,

:03:56. > :04:02.and we have his two race packs. I want to show you something. This

:04:02. > :04:07.sticker, the team have put on Cal and Colin's bikes, two walking

:04:07. > :04:14.wounded in this, but thankfully we have two fit men as well here. I

:04:14. > :04:20.will have to be careful what I say! Steady on there! Great to see him

:04:20. > :04:24.back. Colin came back eight days after his operation but Cal's is

:04:24. > :04:28.more complicated. It was smashed in eight place, they use that amazing

:04:28. > :04:32.treatment where they put him in a deepfreeze for short periods, the

:04:32. > :04:36.same as Mark Webber had when h when he fell off his mountain biefpblg

:04:36. > :04:40.he is back and fit. We heard a line of commentary from you, in the

:04:40. > :04:44.opener, Charlie saying that Colin is a legend, he showed that at

:04:44. > :04:47.Silverstone last time out. He is a tough character and so is Cal

:04:47. > :04:51.Crutchlow. Colin, what a belter, the right conditions for him wet

:04:51. > :04:55.weather, so I guess from that point of view, the softer the conditions

:04:55. > :05:00.are for Cal the better as well. was a miserable day at Silverstone

:05:00. > :05:02.but it was an opportunity to marvel at the skill of the guys and

:05:02. > :05:07.especially stone. Watching people sat at home, they can't believe

:05:07. > :05:10.what they are seeing, they are going round 10% slower than in the

:05:10. > :05:14.dry. Any good rider wouldn't go as far as they do in the dry, let

:05:14. > :05:18.alone what they were doing in the wet. It is -- extraordinary. You

:05:18. > :05:23.have to hand to it Bridgestone, those tyres are extraordinary.

:05:23. > :05:30.Missing is Dani Pedrosa. He has been replaced for this race by

:05:30. > :05:33.Hiroshi Aoyama from Honda Gresini who has been replaced by Kousuke

:05:34. > :05:38.Akiyoshi. Danny is still recovering and he has had another operation to

:05:38. > :05:42.repair a chipped fragment in the bone. Charlie, we hope to see him

:05:42. > :05:45.back next week but it has been a long time. It has been a very long

:05:45. > :05:50.time. And it is still unclear, isn't it, how he has done it and

:05:50. > :05:55.what he has done to himself. Did he reinjure himself? It is a real

:05:55. > :05:58.misly the, he has disappeared for so long. His manager is here this

:05:58. > :06:02.week. Never short of a prop or two. Talk us through this. That is a

:06:02. > :06:05.plate that would go, that is an old one. I had one fitted about 25

:06:05. > :06:09.years ago that sits in there. This is more of a factory one. You can

:06:09. > :06:13.see it is shaped and everything else. That gos in there and I have

:06:13. > :06:18.just borrowed these from a nice man called Ian who is a shoulder surge.

:06:18. > :06:22.He explains how much better they have got. They have developed

:06:22. > :06:26.collarbone plates now. The tech 3 guys should keep nem in the spares

:06:26. > :06:33.department and whip them in straight away. You better hang on

:06:33. > :06:36.the that one. I think he made his own last time. Mine we are peck

:06:36. > :06:41.know. Talking about operations to get things right. They have been

:06:42. > :06:47.busy at Ducati over the last couple of weeks. After lots of testing for

:06:47. > :06:52.the 1,000 cc bike what we are seeing is the fruits of that labour.

:06:52. > :06:57.The GP 11.is which has a new gin put into what is the early

:06:57. > :07:02.development of next year's GP12 chassis so it is a new chassis. A

:07:02. > :07:12.new inverted swing arm and a new gearbox. Tell us about the changes

:07:12. > :07:13.

:07:13. > :07:18.to this bike? We change 80%, it is new. We have a new swing arm, we

:07:18. > :07:25.take completely different shock absorber system, and we have a new

:07:25. > :07:33.chassis and we have a new fairing but the big news is the gearbox.

:07:33. > :07:38.The Ducati seems like transmission, this is new technology, it is a

:07:38. > :07:43.very quick gearbox and this is a bigger advantage, we decide that to

:07:43. > :07:51.introduce this bike now, because we think this is a big advantage.

:07:51. > :07:58.Thank you. So, this bike is just for Rossi here in Assen. Probably

:07:58. > :08:03.with a view to Mag low which welcome back the next race for him.

:08:03. > :08:08.Nicky I had listen get this bike in a few weeks time. That is a major

:08:08. > :08:12.step for Ducati to take at this stage. I remember being at the

:08:12. > :08:19.unveiling ceremony back in January when they were pulling the covers

:08:20. > :08:22.off that bike. It only lasted a few races. We have rarely seen a new

:08:22. > :08:26.shaskwhri introduced so quickly. Valentino Rossi only has three

:08:26. > :08:32.engines for the rest of the season. They have had to change the energy.

:08:32. > :08:35.It has been reduced to 800 cc. So they introduced three. So six is

:08:35. > :08:41.the maximum. We has to last the rest of the season with three

:08:41. > :08:46.engines. So that is interesting. Nicky Hayden is still waiting for

:08:46. > :08:50.that. Whether or not it works for him. Nicky has been a pace setter

:08:50. > :08:55.across relative of the problems they have had. Valentino Rossi not

:08:55. > :08:59.out of touch in the Championship with what a third of it gone. He is

:08:59. > :09:05.on 68 in fourth place. Casey Stoner leading the way with that victory

:09:05. > :09:10.in Silverstone on 116. 18 clear of Jorge Lorenzo. As you can see Colin

:09:10. > :09:13.Edwards there in eighth in the Championship, after his heroics at

:09:13. > :09:23.Silverstone. 37, he is showing no signs of wanting to hang his

:09:23. > :09:28.

:09:28. > :09:38.Known as the Texas tornado Colin Edwards twice world Superbike

:09:38. > :09:40.

:09:40. > :09:44.champion and has been a regular in Sometimes out spoken but always

:09:44. > :09:47.popular, the only blot on his career is that he has never won a

:09:47. > :09:57.Grand Prix, although he came close here in Assen in 2006, when this

:09:57. > :09:58.

:09:58. > :10:00.crash on the last corner robbed him Colin, ninth season in MotoGP.

:10:00. > :10:06.Still searching that first win. Is that something that keeps you

:10:06. > :10:13.going? Well, you know, I mean, I have won two World Championship, I

:10:13. > :10:19.have won losts of race, am I upset I haven't won a Grand Prix? Not

:10:19. > :10:23.really. I am just not ready to go anywhere else. I still love riding

:10:23. > :10:28.motorcycles. I knew this year we were going have a new bike so I was

:10:28. > :10:35.really motivated. Any time you get new parts, when it gets steal, then

:10:35. > :10:40.yeah, but last year we struggled. We were on an old bike. A lot of

:10:40. > :10:44.old stuff from years ago, and this year starting fresh, and brand-new,

:10:44. > :10:49.bits, and it has been real motivating as well. I like working,

:10:49. > :10:53.and finding new ways to tinker round with new part, and try and

:10:53. > :10:56.extract the most out of them, so it has been a good year. We found a

:10:56. > :11:02.couple of things that seem to be working pretty good. You have your

:11:03. > :11:08.wife and kids back at home what is life like back in Texas? I have two

:11:08. > :11:13.lives. This is my secret double agent life! No, at home is like a

:11:13. > :11:18.full-time job. I wake up, bring the kids to school. Go get my wife a

:11:18. > :11:24.star buck, bring it home, you know, I am working when I am home. When I

:11:24. > :11:28.come here it is like vacation, I get to ride motorcycles and it is

:11:28. > :11:35.like two different lives. Now my wife can't come with me, we have

:11:35. > :11:38.kids in school, and it is... It, yeah. You have two sides it feels

:11:38. > :11:43.like. What are you thinking about the current crop of riders at the

:11:43. > :11:48.moment? You know, here you have fast rider, faster rider and the

:11:48. > :11:52.fastest rider who I think at the moment is Casey. Everybody's kind

:11:52. > :11:58.of lucky he is been with Ducati or he might have dominated the last

:11:58. > :12:01.three or four year, so it is tough, as far as impressing me I think

:12:01. > :12:06.Simoncelli has been riding well this year. There has been so many

:12:06. > :12:10.feuds this year, like old one, new ones and you seem to be the only

:12:10. > :12:17.person that just about gets on with everyone. A bit of the father

:12:17. > :12:24.figure or the Agony Aunt. Yeah, I think u you know the same

:12:24. > :12:30.organisation that let vos vos and didn't penalise him, and Valentino

:12:30. > :12:35.used to fight on track all the time. Now they want to pin those guys --

:12:35. > :12:39.penalise guys 20 second. Welcome to the MotoGP procession everybody. I

:12:39. > :12:44.think it is (BLEEP). It is soft things on track, off track,

:12:44. > :12:49.whatever, but all the tack and the BS just kind of, it is too much. It

:12:49. > :12:59.is too much. And especially you can't bring gladiators to an opera,

:12:59. > :13:04.

:13:04. > :13:09.we come to fight, so you have to It's all over. Talk about pushing.

:13:09. > :13:14.He is done. You are a unique character in the paddock. How would

:13:14. > :13:19.you like to be remembered in the MotoGP world when crow do leave?

:13:19. > :13:24.How would I like to be remembered? I don't know. I don't feel like I

:13:24. > :13:28.have ever changed since, since I started racing motorcycles. I never

:13:28. > :13:34.felt like I needed to be an bleep because I could ride bikes better

:13:34. > :13:40.than the next guy. I am who I am, and if it be outspoken it is not

:13:40. > :13:46.cocky, it is just I tell the truth. And sometimes the truth hurts.

:13:46. > :13:52.you are I hope you still have a few years left in you Colin. We will

:13:52. > :13:56.see. I feel good. Riding good, so, we le will see what it brings.

:13:56. > :14:02.he is a true legend is Colin Edwards and I have another one here

:14:02. > :14:09.next door in the factory Yamaha garage where they are racing in the

:14:09. > :14:12.red-and-white colours. You were the first 500 World Champion for Yamaha

:14:12. > :14:17.in these colours, it must be special for you to see them back

:14:17. > :14:24.again? Yes, this is the colour when I race, when I started to race in

:14:24. > :14:30.74 and 75 and 75 I win the World Champion and the 500 so it is the

:14:30. > :14:34.first title of Yamaha in the 500, and I have a very nice time, and I

:14:34. > :14:39.hope this colour is a good luck for the rider today, here in Assen, and

:14:39. > :14:43.I hope Yamaha have a good result here. Thank you. I hope you enjoy

:14:43. > :14:46.it too. It is of course confusing for the riders to be in different

:14:46. > :14:53.colours as we saw from Jorge Lorenzo during practise. Have a

:14:53. > :14:58.look at this. He is come back in pit lane. He expects to see them in

:14:58. > :15:04.blue. Misses the pit box, goes down too far, you are not allowed to

:15:04. > :15:09.ride the wrong way so he had to go back out and do another lap. But

:15:09. > :15:18.fantastic successful half century for Yamaha in Grand Prix racing and

:15:18. > :15:24.Steve has been taking a trip down You cannot believe how much history

:15:24. > :15:30.there is for Yamaha. This is a bike built for Bill Ivy. It is just a

:15:30. > :15:35.little toy. Tiny drum brakes. It is minuscule. Everything that is made

:15:35. > :15:42.is made the same as a motorcycle, but it is so tiny. 56 kilograms,

:15:42. > :15:48.about the weight of Dani Pedrosa. I can pick it up easily. This is a

:15:48. > :15:53.beautiful 125, four cylinder machine. This is a 1968 model. When

:15:53. > :15:57.you start looking around, we are talking about drum brakes, treaded

:15:57. > :16:05.tyres as they had in those days. The pistons would be about that

:16:05. > :16:15.small, absolutely tiny, and it would do about 18,000 rpm. They

:16:15. > :16:18.

:16:18. > :16:21.were so noisy. A 250, another great machine. Phil Reed, 250 cc, again

:16:21. > :16:29.four cylinders. Worth millions of pounds, there is nothing like it

:16:29. > :16:36.around. This is quite unique as well, ridden by Aggers Deeney, a

:16:36. > :16:41.350 Yamaha from the 1975 season. This is very interesting, the gear

:16:41. > :16:43.shift is on the opposite side. When I started racing, we always had the

:16:43. > :16:53.gearshift on the right and the brake on the left, that turned

:16:53. > :16:59.

:16:59. > :17:02.This is quite a serious bike, about 120 brake horsepower, it weighed

:17:02. > :17:07.about 130 kilograms. I have crashed one of these many times and a lot

:17:07. > :17:11.of my scars are due to bikes like this.

:17:11. > :17:15.Deaf and scarred, but otherwise I think you came through that quite

:17:15. > :17:25.well! The safety car is out on the track, the bikes are getting lined

:17:25. > :17:26.

:17:26. > :17:31.up on the grid. Let's find out what The entire practice and qualifying

:17:31. > :17:34.positions for the Assen Grand Prix have been stood on their head --

:17:34. > :17:43.qualifying sessions. First by bad weather and then and on President

:17:43. > :17:53.event. Oil was spilled around more than two kilometres of this circuit

:17:53. > :17:56.

:17:56. > :18:01.-- unprecedented event. All three of the riders went out. Meant a

:18:01. > :18:05.really hard push in qualifying. Simoncelli has been leading the

:18:05. > :18:12.pace in all sessions, and in qualifying was the man to beat. The

:18:12. > :18:22.guy pushing him hardest was Ben Spies for Yamaha. He was only 9004

:18:22. > :18:28.

:18:28. > :18:32.of the time set by Simoncelli. Our Thousandths Cal Crutchlow at one

:18:32. > :18:36.point was on the front row. Ultimately being pushed back, but

:18:36. > :18:40.still starts in sixth, an astonishing performance when you

:18:40. > :18:44.consider his recovery from collarbone surgery. For Valentino

:18:44. > :18:49.Rossi, he is on a new motorbike, they have re-engineered everything

:18:49. > :18:59.but it has just not work. 11th fastest and at one point, he was

:18:59. > :19:28.

:19:28. > :19:33.As you can see, we are out on the grid. Some very desperate

:19:33. > :19:37.alterations have been made to Jorge Lorenzo's bike. I mentioned it was

:19:38. > :19:42.drizzling, it has dried out now. It looks as though they are changing

:19:42. > :19:48.too slick tyres. We were hoping to grab a word with Jorge Lorenzo. He

:19:48. > :19:53.is speaking to his team manager here. Lots of concern and not easy

:19:53. > :19:58.for the riders to keep concentration. He is speaking to

:19:58. > :20:03.his crew chief now. He will be filling him in on what changes they

:20:03. > :20:12.have made. I am going to hang on for a second. We would like to grab

:20:12. > :20:16.a word with Jorge Lorenzo if we can. Is chatting to the Bridgestone tyre

:20:16. > :20:19.technicians as well. There was some talk that we might get a full set

:20:20. > :20:25.of new slicks from Bridgestone headquarters in Germany, because a

:20:25. > :20:35.lot of riders have crashed on cold tyres. The cold tyre problem we

:20:35. > :20:37.

:20:37. > :20:41.have seen throughout the season. That move to get a new set in from

:20:41. > :20:45.Bridgestone was vetoed by one manufacturer, so it hasn't happened.

:20:45. > :20:54.We will come back to Jorge Lorenzo. Maybe he is coming over, just one

:20:54. > :20:58.second... We will come back. Let's speak to Casey Stoner, let's go to

:20:58. > :21:01.the front row. We will try to get a word with Casey Stoner. He has

:21:01. > :21:08.qualified on the front row of the grid. He is leading the

:21:08. > :21:12.championship. We will come in the back door. Sorry. Casey Stoner,

:21:12. > :21:18.front row start for you. Some consternation about the conditions.

:21:18. > :21:23.It seems to be drying up. weekend, it has been pretty bad.

:21:23. > :21:26.There is no consistency whatsoever. In both conditions, the track seems

:21:26. > :21:31.slippery and unpredictable so in mixed conditions, it is lethal. We

:21:31. > :21:35.have seen a lot of crashes and it is not nice going into a race,

:21:35. > :21:39.knowing that. It is unpredictable and we are not really sure what

:21:39. > :21:44.tyre choice will be best. We are running with what we know at the

:21:44. > :21:49.moment. Presumably you will go with slicks? At this moment. The track

:21:49. > :21:56.is pretty well drive. It could rain at any time, as you have seen all

:21:56. > :22:03.day. We will have do see what happens, how it pans out and stay

:22:03. > :22:09.upright. I hope it stays dry. Thank you. Just a reminder, if you are

:22:09. > :22:13.new to MotoGP, if it does start to rain during a dry race, the riders

:22:13. > :22:19.will be able to come in, change bikes on to a set of wet tyres and

:22:19. > :22:24.be able to go back out. We have missed Jorge Lorenzo unfortunately.

:22:24. > :22:31.Not to worry, we'll get him another day. Who else is on the second row?

:22:31. > :22:35.Let's have a quick chat to Phil Read. Can I interrupt you? We spoke

:22:35. > :22:41.to the first premier class world champion earlier, but Phil Reed,

:22:41. > :22:44.you won the first world title for them. Yes, many years ago. It was a

:22:44. > :22:49.great thrill to ride the yammer our bikes again and get a fantastic

:22:50. > :22:54.reaction from the crowd. You did a couple of demo laps. That's right.

:22:54. > :22:58.It was great. Lorenzo, I am amazed he has changed everything before

:22:58. > :23:05.the race, hoping it is going to stay dry. It is a gamble. A big

:23:06. > :23:10.gamble. Great to see you, enjoy the race. It is going to be exciting.

:23:10. > :23:18.Phil Reed, three-times world champion in three classes. The only

:23:18. > :23:22.other guy to do that is Valentino Rossi. Jorge Lorenzo, Dovizioso and

:23:22. > :23:28.Crutchlow, on the second row. Cal Crutchlow is getting energy gel

:23:28. > :23:33.into him before the start of the race. Can we grab a quick word? It

:23:33. > :23:36.is hard to speak to anybody in these conditions. I will try to

:23:36. > :23:43.speak to his crew chief. Can you tell us which set you are going

:23:43. > :23:48.for? We are going for dry set for shock, the race is tries to win a

:23:48. > :23:56.start with price-setting -- a dry setting for sure. The race is dry

:23:56. > :24:00.so we must start with dry settings. Let's get on to the fourth row of

:24:01. > :24:06.the grid. This is where Valentino Rossi is, from 11th position. That

:24:06. > :24:11.is where he started in 2007, and you may remember, in the Fiat 500

:24:11. > :24:17.special edition colours, he went on to win that race. Let's grab a word

:24:17. > :24:24.with his team manager. Just a quick word. What setting are you guys

:24:24. > :24:30.going for? Are you going to take a gamble? It is one of those races.

:24:30. > :24:37.No, the race is dry, we start with a dry bike. I don't know exactly.

:24:37. > :24:42.If it is a good choice. Every bike has this setting, this tyre. We

:24:42. > :24:47.hope. I suppose for you guys, with the current predicament you find

:24:47. > :24:55.yourselves in, it is perhaps not the worst situation. Terrible this

:24:55. > :24:59.weekend. We tried every practice and qualifying, we tried this

:25:00. > :25:05.setting and we hope it is a good choice. Thank you, good luck today.

:25:05. > :25:15.Not easy for any of the riders. Sorry. I don't think anybody really

:25:15. > :25:16.

:25:16. > :25:24.wants to ride in conditions like A message to Dani Pedrosa on the

:25:24. > :25:28.front of his bike. Come back soon. I will hold that up for them. The

:25:29. > :25:34.news is that Dani Pedrosa will be back next weekend to take his place

:25:34. > :25:39.in the Repsol team. Looks like we are being kicked off the grid. If

:25:39. > :25:44.we get a split race, it will make it longer. They like to get this

:25:44. > :25:48.sorted out quickly. John Hopkins is here this weekend. He is in Suzuki

:25:48. > :25:54.colours, even though he is riding in the British Superbike champion

:25:54. > :25:59.ship at the moment, he is planning to write a second Suzuki as a wild

:25:59. > :26:04.card in the Czech Republic. It seems as though John has

:26:04. > :26:10.disappeared... Here he comes. Let's grab him as we walk off the grid.

:26:10. > :26:14.Giving Cal Crutchlow a nudge. John, a quick word. Great to see you back

:26:14. > :26:19.in a MotoGP grid, are we going to see you on a bike any time soon?

:26:19. > :26:23.There should be an announcement pretty soon, we are working hard on

:26:23. > :26:29.getting the wild card dialled in. I am happy to be a guest with the

:26:29. > :26:36.twizzlers Suzuki, to be here on the grid is awesome. Great to be back

:26:36. > :26:40.in MotoGP -- Rizla or Suzuki. not easy for the riders. Mixed

:26:40. > :26:43.conditions, sat on the grid, what is going through your mind? You are

:26:43. > :26:50.scrambled, you want to get a good start, but when it is half white,

:26:50. > :26:58.it is a gamble. Hopefully it works out. I think it is going to be a

:26:58. > :27:01.dry race -- when it is half wet. Right now, it is a gamble. You want

:27:01. > :27:05.to ride smart and have the aggression, but keep it up right.

:27:05. > :27:10.It is a tough call. Banks was speaking to us. It may not be much

:27:10. > :27:20.fun for the riders -- thanks for speaking to us. It will be a lot of

:27:20. > :27:21.

:27:21. > :27:29.fun for us. The Gladiators are now Those conditions are horrible out

:27:29. > :27:33.there. They really are. The worst conditions you could ever have.

:27:33. > :27:37.There will be a white flag if it starts raining and then the guys

:27:37. > :27:47.can come in and change to the other bike, that they will be trying to

:27:47. > :27:59.

:27:59. > :28:06.get sorted out into a wet setting is, but bear in mind, he won from

:28:06. > :28:10.that position a few years ago. He was in much more form back them.

:28:10. > :28:15.This is an extraordinary position to see him in. We will talk about

:28:15. > :28:19.it during the race, which I am sure will spread out a bit as time goes

:28:19. > :28:22.on. They are throwing everything at it, including a new machine. They

:28:22. > :28:26.have had trouble getting the tyre temperatures up in perfect

:28:26. > :28:31.conditions. It is colder today than yesterday. It is about 13 degrees

:28:31. > :28:35.on the track, very cold. There was this situation where we might have

:28:35. > :28:39.seen a softer Bridgestone tyre introduced. I think Simoncelli said,

:28:40. > :28:44.I might use the harder ones, so I don't want a softer one. He was

:28:44. > :28:47.covering himself. I think the softer option which they are

:28:47. > :28:51.running is working for him, but maybe not some of the other teams

:28:51. > :28:58.and riders. I think some of the other teams and riders would have

:28:58. > :29:04.liked a softer option. Indeed. Let's talk about the track. This is

:29:04. > :29:08.the new modified part of the circuit, it is tight around here.

:29:08. > :29:13.It is so important for getting power onto the back straight.

:29:13. > :29:19.longest part of the circuit, the longest streak that you have got.

:29:19. > :29:24.As you come out of that, it is a 180 degree, slow corner, the

:29:24. > :29:28.slowest corner on the circuit. The straight isn't really a straight,

:29:28. > :29:32.there are kinks and bumps but it is a place where you nail it and then

:29:33. > :29:40.on the brakes for this new chicane that has been put in. The track has

:29:40. > :29:50.been changed immensely over the years. It has turned into a full on

:29:50. > :29:54.

:29:54. > :29:59.the corner that caught out Casey Stoner and Andrea Dovizioso. That

:29:59. > :30:09.is where their fired themselves at the scenery. It is round this

:30:09. > :30:13.

:30:13. > :30:16.corner that Aoyama threw his bike down the road. There are the

:30:16. > :30:20.standings there. Valentino Rossi has a bit of work to do. It's a

:30:20. > :30:22.good opportunity for Casey Stoner toex tend his lead. He only

:30:22. > :30:29.qualified third but he hurt himself in that practise crash yesterday

:30:29. > :30:33.morning, so it is quite likely that he will, if he is not too sore he

:30:33. > :30:37.might find pace. He did do the splits but he will be out there

:30:37. > :30:41.riding as hard as possible. Even at the moment or in the u first few

:30:41. > :30:48.laps will be cautious, it is awkward. The tyres have taken three

:30:48. > :30:54.laps to get up to temperature. We saw that in qualifying. You can see

:30:54. > :30:59.front and soft rear tyres for just about everybody apart from

:30:59. > :31:05.Simoncelli. But the best position he has had is fourth. Is he going

:31:05. > :31:09.to get a podium or even a win? are up, we are ready for a start in

:31:09. > :31:14.Holland. A belting start from Simoncelli, at least across the

:31:14. > :31:21.line. Time will tell. Bike 11 Ben Spies going with him. Lorenzo

:31:21. > :31:26.trying to find way round and it looks like he has done it. Spies

:31:26. > :31:30.gets back past Lorenzo. They feed in through this series of right

:31:30. > :31:34.handers. Round and round they go. In a minute they hit the left

:31:34. > :31:40.hander, and that will be really really critical. They will want to

:31:40. > :31:46.tap on that power. Oh. Simoncelli. It looks like he lost the front,

:31:46. > :31:50.straight down he goes. That is a nightmare. That is Lorenzo down,

:31:50. > :31:56.alongside him. Man oh man. Can you believe that? That was Simoncelli

:31:56. > :32:02.went down first, and we just, we were saying is he going to get a

:32:02. > :32:08.podium. He certainly isn't. Ben Spies has a lead. I do not believe

:32:08. > :32:13.it, Simoncelli what will he are to do to get a result? Can you imagine

:32:13. > :32:17.what Lorenzo will be saying about him. He was calling him a lunatic

:32:17. > :32:21.earlier. If you were Lorenzo you would want to kill him. If you were

:32:21. > :32:29.Simoncelli you would make a beeline for the back of the fence and jump

:32:29. > :32:34.it. We will get lots of looks at it. I did remark on the cold tyre issue.

:32:34. > :32:42.Didn't he get it. All he can hope for is if it is going to rain. We

:32:42. > :32:47.will see if it starts raining. White flags will indicate. He has

:32:47. > :32:55.smashed the, he has done something. He has broken the camera mount. Ben

:32:55. > :33:00.Spies, he was only 9,000. Is he in a fantastic position. There is

:33:00. > :33:03.another flag up there. It is all going off here. So Andrea Dovizioso

:33:03. > :33:08.in second, behind him is Casey Stoner, trying to find a way

:33:08. > :33:17.through. That is Karel Abraham. He is holding his wrist. That is bad

:33:17. > :33:23.news. Nightmare. But there is Casey Stoner at 27 being followed by

:33:23. > :33:29.Andrea Dovizioso. I don't believe it. Randy de Puniet has gone out

:33:29. > :33:33.and he was the sole surviving Pramac rider. So that is both

:33:33. > :33:36.Pramacs out now. What is going on here? This is going to cause some

:33:36. > :33:39.issues here. Running these tyre, everyone wants the softer tyre, but

:33:40. > :33:46.at the moment they are having to cope with it. They have to be

:33:46. > :33:56.careful. Look at the lead that Ben Spies has, he went over the line

:33:56. > :33:57.

:33:57. > :34:03.last time. He had 2.58. Here they go. Down the inside. Rear left.

:34:03. > :34:11.Left side. Left cold side of the tyre went down. Well he needed that

:34:11. > :34:17.like a third armpit, Simoncelli. Lin Jarvis wasn't impressed. Their

:34:18. > :34:23.man Jorge Lorenzo, is right at the back at the moment. That, he is

:34:23. > :34:28.having a, all of a sudden, Lorenzo, I don't know who was leading the

:34:28. > :34:31.Championship is having a nightmare. Stoner is through, that is

:34:31. > :34:35.important. Jorge Lorenzo was right down the back there, was in front

:34:36. > :34:42.of Simoncelli, and certainly in front of Abraham who is out. Cal

:34:42. > :34:46.Crutchlow what about that? Brill Janet stuff, he is into fourth. --

:34:46. > :34:52.brill Janet stuff. I imagine the seat is broken up. We will get a

:34:52. > :34:56.view. Bits and pieces are flying off that bike. There it is. It is

:34:56. > :35:02.smashed up. There was contact with Lorenzo after he went down and

:35:02. > :35:06.Lorenzo's bike went into the back section. He took out that beautiful

:35:06. > :35:11.red-and-white Yamaha bike. Not the anniversary they wanted as bits of

:35:11. > :35:20.the seat are hanging off. This may be a black flag issue if he is not

:35:20. > :35:25.careful. Back at the front 3.5 seconds near enough for in man, Ben

:35:25. > :35:29.Spies. He was gifted that in terms of that crash that opened up the

:35:29. > :35:35.field. Valentino Rossi, keep your eyes out for him because he is

:35:35. > :35:41.going forward. Two guys are in front of him, maybe three, but he

:35:41. > :35:47.is in touch. Cal Crutchlow is in fourth. That man eight days ago was

:35:47. > :35:51.having an operation to have a plate in his shoulder. Getting out wide.

:35:51. > :35:54.You are supposed to be still mending and you are very sore, but

:35:54. > :36:00.stone I can tell you is gingerly making his way round there. He

:36:00. > :36:05.won't be pushing too hard. His main contender, he will know is out of

:36:05. > :36:09.the race. He was behind at the time. That is a very important point. Ben

:36:09. > :36:13.Spies is back in ninth in the championship with 36 points so it

:36:13. > :36:19.doesn't matter to Casey Stoner if he wins the race and Casey takes 20

:36:20. > :36:24.points out of the equation. As we lock at the battle of the Texans.

:36:24. > :36:34.Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards. Part of the walking wounded squad

:36:34. > :36:36.

:36:36. > :36:44.markers here but it all happened at the front. They must be very

:36:44. > :36:50.unhappy in Yamaha. Obviously very sad faces here in Jorge Lorenzo's

:36:50. > :36:56.garage now. It is very disappointed for us. We know circumstances are

:36:56. > :37:02.difficult and the riders know, they are all nervous, but to make such

:37:02. > :37:09.action at an early stage, I don't think it was the smartest one to do,

:37:09. > :37:19.but yes, it is an accident. Lorn he was on the wrong place at wrong

:37:19. > :37:24.moment. The race is still on. is riding 13th place, and yeah,

:37:24. > :37:29.what I can -- can I say? We are leading the race with one Bic, and

:37:29. > :37:33.with the -- bike and with with the other one we have such a bad

:37:33. > :37:38.situation. Hoping for rain then? Yes, whatever happens it would be

:37:38. > :37:43.nice to have a change on tyres, whatever. From our side of the

:37:43. > :37:48.garage. From Ben's side of the garage, he is leading the race, so

:37:48. > :37:51.let's see what will happen. Thank you. Anything could happen I

:37:51. > :37:54.suppose when the dice is thrown like that. But the Simoncelli

:37:54. > :37:58.incident, I mean, that is racing when someone has a crash in front

:37:58. > :38:03.you have and you get involved. How do you call it? It was an incident.

:38:03. > :38:07.He got on the gas a bit early. Everyone got round there, he triped

:38:07. > :38:11.to -- tried to tap it on to that cold tyre, there it is, you will

:38:11. > :38:14.see the back end come rourpbgsd flicked him off. He was down-and-

:38:14. > :38:20.out and that was the situation, and it was just, you can see it again

:38:20. > :38:28.there, he was off, and Lorenzo has nowhere to go. But, he is still

:38:28. > :38:32.going to get blame over it. Lorn won't be impressed. But what about

:38:32. > :38:36.this man, Ben Spies, could he be going on to take his first MotoGP?

:38:36. > :38:41.In a way it will be great when he does for him, but it will be

:38:41. > :38:46.bitter-sweet, because he would like to beat everybody on the feet. Cal

:38:46. > :38:51.Crutchlow has had tho give best to Valentino Rossi. Rossi is moving up

:38:51. > :38:57.into fourth Cal in fifth. Getting back to that Jorge Lorenzo issue,

:38:57. > :39:00.with Simoncelli, it was, it all started the whole problem getting

:39:00. > :39:05.that needlessly severe penalty in Le Mans. All of that started with

:39:05. > :39:08.Jorge Lorenzo in a press conference saying "This guy's dangerous,

:39:08. > :39:12.anything happens to me then there will be trouble." Now it has

:39:12. > :39:17.happened so there will be trouble. Simoncelli is going to get arrests

:39:17. > :39:25.then! That is what he said! I think there will be the Spanish police

:39:25. > :39:31.round to grab him actually. But any way it is still going at the moment.

:39:31. > :39:37.As you were.ing out, mate, four seconds down the road to Ben Spies.

:39:37. > :39:40.We might have 20 laps to go but if he can keep stroking a long. But

:39:40. > :39:45.this man Casey Stoner will have taken time to get the heat in the

:39:45. > :39:53.tyres. He will be comfortable. It is coming to him. We know it took

:39:53. > :39:59.at least three laps. There is Karel Abraham. I had walk round the track

:39:59. > :40:05.and showed what a dangerous coner that is, and it would have been

:40:05. > :40:11.pressient if we had seen it. How about this? Getting a bit of a

:40:11. > :40:15.battle. Akiyoshi in the thick of it. He will want to take a freeze frame

:40:15. > :40:18.of that. From is Lorenzo fighting through. That has moved him up into

:40:18. > :40:25.12th. Still points and he will need them at the owned of the season. A

:40:25. > :40:31.long way to go and he has moved up another place. Two people, into

:40:32. > :40:36.11th. Jorge Lorenzo last year's champion. Nice manners there. He

:40:36. > :40:41.could see Lorenzo coming through. So Lorenzo, here is the man. He is

:40:41. > :40:51.40 seconds down the road from his, this guy here, from his team-mate

:40:51. > :40:54.

:40:54. > :41:01.notice how different that Ducati looks. I am talking about Valentino

:41:01. > :41:06.Rossi's. It is the only one that has the brand-new, it is called the

:41:06. > :41:11.11.1 chassis. But it is basically next year's 2012 chassis. We talk

:41:11. > :41:18.about it but the energy is the chassis, the big difference is the

:41:18. > :41:23.rear suspension. The way the link cadge works. Now, the Ducati that

:41:23. > :41:28.Rossi is riding has a suspension system where the shot bolts on to

:41:28. > :41:32.the back of the engine. The team there at Ducati have been working

:41:32. > :41:36.hard. More importantly the factory are been working hard to give him

:41:36. > :41:41.that. But this morning in warm up they felt it was running better.

:41:41. > :41:51.There you can see Rossi and Crutchlow when they are braking and

:41:51. > :41:53.

:41:53. > :41:58.putting on the throttle. I wonder if Cal Crutchlow in his hospital

:41:58. > :42:02.bed about a week ago thinking I would be racing with Valentino

:42:02. > :42:12.Rossi at Assen. Probably hoping he would be in front of him knowing

:42:12. > :42:15.

:42:15. > :42:20.Cal. The track is dry. Those white lines will still probably be a bit

:42:20. > :42:27.slippery but they are using every part. It is a nice drying day as my

:42:28. > :42:32.mum would have said. A bit of a breeze out there. Look at that lead

:42:32. > :42:36.There is the race leader. We can count it down. They are starting ev

:42:36. > :42:46.so slightly to make inroad here. These two Stoner and dove, the

:42:46. > :42:48.

:42:48. > :42:53.team-mates, there is only a little in it. So they just have take an

:42:53. > :42:57.tenth or so out of Ben Spies, nothing for Ben to worry about. 19

:42:57. > :43:01.laps to go. These guy are still going to have to get their heads

:43:02. > :43:06.down if all stays dry, if they want to get on terms with Ben Spies. One

:43:06. > :43:10.of the hardest things in racing is to keep your rhythm up when you are

:43:10. > :43:15.buy yourself. Very dif. He is the one who has to work out the track

:43:15. > :43:23.conditions. He will look at his pit board, and I will be coming back

:43:23. > :43:29.down a bit. We will work out how robust that camera is, because it

:43:29. > :43:34.is getting a proper work out on the back of that seat that is falling

:43:34. > :43:38.off. Simoncelli is, his lap times are very much in the hunt. He is

:43:38. > :43:44.lapping, well last time round a 37, which is pretty good lap time.

:43:44. > :43:50.Considering he is making his way through the pack. But at the front,

:43:50. > :43:55.35.966 for Ben Spies. They only took a tenth out of him. It is a

:43:55. > :44:00.very long way to go. They will have to get a clip on or he would have

:44:00. > :44:07.to make a mistake. Ben Spies, when he gets his eye on he is a good

:44:07. > :44:15.rider. Broadly he gets his head down, stays focused. A quiet

:44:15. > :44:20.achiever. Stoner has gone faster at 35.5. He has taken four tenths out.

:44:20. > :44:25.Cal Crutchlow is not down with Valentino Rossi yet Yes. Taken four

:44:25. > :44:30.tenths out. You don't have to be up their exhaust pipe to put them

:44:30. > :44:33.under pressure. You see the lap board and you think "I know I am

:44:33. > :44:37.losing time." So they could force an error out of Ben Spies even

:44:37. > :44:43.though he is half a mile down the road. It takes that lap for him to

:44:43. > :44:53.see the pit board to realise he has to get a move on. Toni Elias in

:44:53. > :45:03.

:45:03. > :45:13.The yammer half, it hasn't changed apart from its colour scheme -- the

:45:13. > :45:20.

:45:20. > :45:26.yammer half. -- the Yamaha. It has better fuel consumption. Because

:45:26. > :45:36.there are so few riders in this race, Marcus Simoncelli is in the

:45:36. > :45:40.points, even though he is last. It is worth him flogging around.

:45:40. > :45:50.we are going to find out if the gap has come down. Ben Spies going over

:45:50. > :45:50.

:45:50. > :45:55.the line. 3.572. He has responded. A good lap from them. He knows he

:45:56. > :46:05.has got to get a ripple on. Speaking of which, it seems as if

:46:05. > :46:14.Mr Stoner is pushing on and leaving Dovizioso behind. Valentino Rossi

:46:14. > :46:18.is not shaking off the terrier-like performance of Cal Crutchlow.

:46:18. > :46:22.can't have a new plate in your shoulder and not be very sore at

:46:22. > :46:31.this point of the race. He has done a lot of clubs over the weekend but

:46:31. > :46:40.when you have to string them together... I know you struggled

:46:40. > :46:46.with your wrist, Justin commentary. On board with your race leader --

:46:46. > :46:51.he will be absolutely furious. Jorge Lorenzo will be fuming,

:46:51. > :46:55.incandescent with rage. He has not liked Simoncelli much, since he has

:46:55. > :47:05.caused problems with other riders. What ever will be said now, I

:47:05. > :47:11.cannot imagine. It is fair to say, that will not impress him one

:47:11. > :47:16.little bit. The Warsi himself as a prophet, he will say he warned you

:47:16. > :47:22.of this -- he will see himself. Jorge Lorenzo is the one with steam

:47:22. > :47:30.coming out from under his helmet, getting past Bautista or now. A

:47:30. > :47:40.stunning performance to regroup and get going. The bike basically went

:47:40. > :47:44.

:47:44. > :47:54.along on top of the bike. It had a softened blow. The bike ended up on

:47:54. > :48:00.

:48:00. > :48:07.top of the stricken Simoncelli under someone has, you have got to

:48:07. > :48:16.tap the power. It is good job we can't hear them -- under someone

:48:16. > :48:25.else. It was terrible to happen so early in the race and lucky that it

:48:25. > :48:30.was only two riders. We have 16 laps. If you can do half a second a

:48:30. > :48:35.lap, they would be there in no time, if they can do two tents, they

:48:35. > :48:39.would make it in the time. definitely have a race on. -- two-

:48:39. > :48:45.tenths. Casey Stoner will be leaving for

:48:45. > :48:51.miles if he stays on the podium. Jorge Lorenzo, back in tenth. We

:48:51. > :49:00.already have been nice cushion of 18 points. -- he already had the

:49:00. > :49:06.nice cushion. A big gap is now official. There is not much in it.

:49:06. > :49:11.-- the gap is now visual. 3.4 is the distance, but it always makes a

:49:11. > :49:21.difference... Cal Crutchlow is pulling into the pits. I was about

:49:21. > :49:35.

:49:35. > :49:40.imagine that, frankly, but you imagine it would be a problem with

:49:40. > :49:48.him. Are they going to change the front tyre? Something silly like a

:49:48. > :49:52.puncture? They saw something was wrong. That is terrible luck. He

:49:52. > :49:57.had pushed the boat out and he was running hard, running with the

:49:57. > :50:02.hounds, even though he was fat. Spies will be seeing his pit board,

:50:02. > :50:07.he will be seeing the time coming down and know he has got to pick up

:50:07. > :50:15.the pace to take his first MotoGP win. He has been second, he has had

:50:15. > :50:20.pole position, but he has never won. I think we have some news in the

:50:20. > :50:29.tech three garage. Cal Crutchlow sitting in the corner, he is not

:50:29. > :50:33.looking at the moment. They are pulling off the front tyre now. The

:50:33. > :50:41.right shoulder of the front tyre is shredded. It is a dodgy tyre, they

:50:41. > :50:46.are putting a new one on. Hopefully he can go back out. Cold comfort

:50:46. > :50:52.but at least he will get some points. Absolutely but it will be a

:50:52. > :50:58.long job, they have to take the steel discs off. It will be a long

:50:58. > :51:03.process. The carbon discs, I beg your pardon. Something very strange

:51:04. > :51:11.about that tyre. He has gone for the hard option and that is cold

:51:11. > :51:15.tear. Are they going to put the softer option in? It is really

:51:15. > :51:20.peculiar for that to happen. Unusual for Bridgestone to have a

:51:20. > :51:25.faulty tyre. It was very much a cold tears situation. The reason

:51:25. > :51:28.they are having to change the desks is that they are matched to the

:51:28. > :51:33.brake pads and they have to go as one. They have had to put them on

:51:33. > :51:40.the spare wheel, a new tyre going on, which would have been on the

:51:40. > :51:43.tyre warmer. He will have to be careful, first-lap out. There are

:51:44. > :51:47.points in the table, he will be in the points if he finishes the race.

:51:47. > :51:52.The worst thing, he will have to regroup and refocus and get his

:51:52. > :51:55.head around things. There is nothing worse than having your

:51:55. > :52:03.concentration jarred and tried to convince yourself it is worth going

:52:03. > :52:13.out. -- trying to convince yourself. Ben Spies has pulled away, that is

:52:13. > :52:22.very impressive. He is two-tenths faster than Stoner. He is -- Jorge

:52:22. > :52:28.Lorenzo is still battling away, putting in good times. Lorenzo is

:52:28. > :52:33.passed Elias now, putting him up into eighth place. We watched the

:52:33. > :52:43.disconsolate figure of Crutchlow inching his way back to join this

:52:43. > :52:43.

:52:43. > :52:49.race, a couple of laps down. Lorenzo was coming up on Aoyama.

:52:49. > :52:55.You don't need a lap board to work out the gap. Riding with Lorenzo,

:52:55. > :53:02.Aoyama is just ahead of us, about to turn in. You have some more news

:53:02. > :53:07.in the pit lane. Cal Crutchlow has gone back out onto the track. They

:53:07. > :53:11.didn't change the rear tyre, it is still the same one. It was stood

:53:11. > :53:15.there for a good 30 seconds to a minute, so that would have dropped

:53:15. > :53:20.dramatically. Cal Crutchlow needs to take it steady over the next

:53:20. > :53:25.couple of laps. Hopefully he will. There will be no dividend in

:53:25. > :53:35.passing on. He will finish 14th no matter what, unless somebody else

:53:35. > :53:37.

:53:37. > :53:42.hops off. That is Jorge Lorenzo. he gets past Aoyama, he will move

:53:42. > :53:49.up into 7th, and it is only a matter of time. That looks like the

:53:49. > :53:57.time. Lorenzo carries the speed through. Who is next up the road

:53:57. > :54:03.from Aoyama? Quite a long journey to Nicky Hayden, the next target.

:54:03. > :54:09.The bigger bets are further down the track. Bike number 11 is the

:54:09. > :54:16.race leader. Ben Spies. He has got the hammer down in the last few

:54:16. > :54:22.laps. He has got the fastest lap of the race so far. Very impressive,

:54:22. > :54:29.the man from Memphis Tennessee. 26 years old, World Superbike champion.

:54:29. > :54:33.A pretty good start from Ben Spies, he switched to the inside. He was

:54:33. > :54:40.behind Jorge Lorenzo going in to turn one, then he cut back on the

:54:41. > :54:46.inside. Yes, Simoncelli got off the line instantly very quickly. Then

:54:46. > :54:54.it went sour for him. Great acceleration from Spies. Very much

:54:54. > :55:04.so. Jorge Lorenzo was just there, then Spies cut back on the inside.

:55:04. > :55:12.

:55:12. > :55:20.Getting the drive out of this number-one collided. Simoncelli is

:55:20. > :55:29.past Hector Barbera. Our wonderful robust camera, maybe it has finally

:55:29. > :55:35.died. Barbera is having a lacklustre season, you expected a

:55:35. > :55:45.lot from him, he was one of the heart 250 charges. That was down

:55:45. > :56:03.

:56:03. > :56:08.in this race, the lap times are relatively slow. The lap record is

:56:08. > :56:13.held by Dani Pedrosa from last year, we are about a second offer of lap

:56:13. > :56:19.record pace. But with track temperatures being so cold, last

:56:19. > :56:25.year the track temperature was 40 degrees, today it is only 13.

:56:25. > :56:32.Spies has put a lap on Akiyoshi. An extraordinary turn of events in

:56:32. > :56:38.this class of racing, with 11 laps to go. Most certainly is. He still

:56:38. > :56:42.has the 4.194 advantage, that is a pleasure to see, when you see your

:56:42. > :56:46.pit board and you are extending your leave. You can see how much he

:56:46. > :56:51.is sliding the Yamaha round. We said it would suit this track, it

:56:51. > :56:56.has already -- always gone well around here. It is not only about

:56:56. > :57:04.speed but change in direction, a lot to do with the fast sweeps

:57:04. > :57:12.around the circuit. Stoner has got a comfortable gap over Dovizioso.

:57:12. > :57:20.4.7 ahead, and 4.7 behind the race leader. Everybody, well and truly

:57:20. > :57:25.gaps, having a lonely time. Rossi is behind Ben Spies. Colin Edwards

:57:25. > :57:30.is right behind him, four seconds down the road from him. We have the

:57:30. > :57:35.commentator's nightmare, a massively gap to field. We have.

:57:35. > :57:41.Casey Stoner will pick up 20 points if he stays in that position.

:57:41. > :57:46.that is smart. Ben Spies is in ninth place so he will not worry

:57:46. > :57:50.him. Jorge Lorenzo is the closest, and then Dovizioso. He will

:57:50. > :57:57.stretches advantage in this championship by the time we get to

:57:57. > :58:01.next weekend, around eight. For anyone that has switched on, they

:58:01. > :58:06.will be wondering what has gone wrong with Jorge Lorenzo so far

:58:06. > :58:15.back. It all happened when Simoncelli crashed and took him out

:58:16. > :58:21.with him, on the 4th corner. Ten laps remaining, Ben Spies, looking

:58:21. > :58:25.like making history, by taking his first MotoGP race. It will be

:58:25. > :58:34.frustrating for Ben Spies. It will be a delight, unbridled delight to

:58:34. > :58:39.win a race. But it will be slightly frustrating for him... As we watch

:58:39. > :58:43.the art of the man... That he did not beat Lorenzo on the track. He

:58:43. > :58:47.was out-qualifying him, he was faster across the weekend and it

:58:47. > :58:52.would have been slightly more emphatic. Fair point, but in

:58:52. > :59:02.reality, he was in front of him when unfortunately, Jorge Lorenzo

:59:02. > :59:08.got taken out. Anyway, a win is a win. It certainly is. We have dust

:59:08. > :59:12.has some news from Karel Abraham's team. -- just had some news. They

:59:12. > :59:20.are saying that a touch with Aoyama caused the crash and it looks like

:59:20. > :59:23.a broken little finger. That is very painful and awkward but they

:59:23. > :59:28.can strap it all up. I remember Barry Sheene having his job off

:59:28. > :59:32.because it didn't work properly. will be lighter. You have got to

:59:32. > :59:36.think about that. A broken finger will be extremely painful but I'm

:59:36. > :59:41.sure he will be out racing again. He is having a good season, at

:59:41. > :59:48.least until the date. Nicky Hayden has basically had the edge across

:59:48. > :59:53.the weekend. -- until today. Spies is putting a lap on Barbera.

:59:53. > :59:58.It is club racing, getting lapped at this level. I don't understand

:59:58. > :00:02.what is happening to Barbera, he has faded from view this year.

:00:02. > :00:06.guess you have to say, the Ducati has not suited him. It was better

:00:06. > :00:11.last year, it is as if they have taken a backward step. We know how

:00:11. > :00:14.much development is going on, or the work going on with Valentino

:00:14. > :00:19.Rossi riding with Ducati and how much they are changing the bike. It

:00:19. > :00:23.is pretty much unheard of, to turn up with a completely revamped bike

:00:23. > :00:27.in round seven, particularly as we move to the new bikes for next year.

:00:27. > :00:37.The budget that Ducati was working too would have been thrown out the

:00:37. > :00:50.

:00:50. > :00:54.Nicky Hayden is in fifth, six seconds further back.

:00:54. > :01:00.interesting thing and the thing that will cheer Ducati up, is quite

:01:00. > :01:03.simply, the fact that Valentino Rossi's lapping as fast as we see

:01:03. > :01:09.Casey Stoner leave a massive big black line out there. That rear

:01:09. > :01:12.tyre has probably seen its best. Casey Stoner will not want to be

:01:13. > :01:19.doing anything silly now with the to points he's has in the bag with

:01:19. > :01:24.eight laps to go. If you are just joining us Simoncelli got tadge

:01:24. > :01:27.tangled up and ran into Jorge Lorenzo. We lost kaib cane -- Karel

:01:27. > :01:31.Abraham and Randy de Puniet in a crash. What is the shuffle there.

:01:31. > :01:39.Your season seems to be going from bad to worse. What happened with

:01:39. > :01:44.that last crash? I crash in exit to the first corner. I think I was a

:01:44. > :01:49.bit wide on the border, and that's it, I am disappointed for me, for

:01:49. > :01:54.the team, because we had the possibility to be in the top eight

:01:54. > :01:59.this weekend, we improve a bit during the weekend, and we on a

:02:00. > :02:06.good way, and that is why I am disappointed. But we need to

:02:06. > :02:14.continue, to work and to hope next week will be a good weekend for us.

:02:14. > :02:19.It is a Ducati track. And I like the Mugello and I will try to do a

:02:19. > :02:25.good race. Now that is a problem for those guys, but it looks like

:02:25. > :02:33.dove has one too. And stone, the front tyres look like they are

:02:33. > :02:38.shred up. The close up shot we had of the two Repsol Hondas, the right

:02:38. > :02:42.side of the tyre... It is important to recap the issue of tyres and

:02:42. > :02:45.taerge -- alternative people had on tyres that was denied them. What

:02:45. > :02:51.happened yesterday, a lot of the teams got together and they were

:02:51. > :02:56.not impressed with the left tyre, the left side of the rare tyre

:02:56. > :03:02.saying it wasn't getting up to temperature quick enough.

:03:02. > :03:06.Bridgestone said they had a different tyre. They will give them

:03:06. > :03:10.two tyres, any way they turned up and they had a soft and medium. But

:03:10. > :03:14.it turns out they had a softer tyre but they hadn't put it into the

:03:14. > :03:18.allocation at the start of the week. When the track temperature was so

:03:18. > :03:23.cold they found another tyre, but Simoncelli said, no, I am happy

:03:23. > :03:29.with the one I have got. I don't want a softer tyre. I bet he wishes

:03:29. > :03:32.he has one now. It is orn nick, it seems as though word came from the

:03:32. > :03:36.Simoncelli team, they did want to change the tyres. It has to be

:03:36. > :03:41.every member of the teams and riders say it is OK if we change

:03:41. > :03:48.the tyres. He didn't want to. was the pacesetter and the fastest

:03:48. > :03:53.guy across the week. That is very much the case. We look at the 291.

:03:53. > :03:58.That is in the fastest section into turn seven. We are at turn eight.

:03:58. > :04:03.We are about to come up to turn eight as we turn right. Third gear

:04:03. > :04:07.corner, and then will is a kink. The next corner we co-come up to,

:04:07. > :04:15.this is where Stoner, and Andrea Dovizioso crashed out yesterday in

:04:15. > :04:22.the first session, yesterday morning. Along, long right here.

:04:22. > :04:32.Turn ten and 11. And ten turn 12 which is a skreerm. Look through

:04:32. > :04:38.

:04:38. > :04:41.Yamaha, celebrating their 50th anniversary in Grand Prix racing,

:04:41. > :04:45.new colour schemes, to take the win. I think they would have expected

:04:45. > :04:48.that win to have come from Jorge Lorenzo but it isn't going to be

:04:48. > :04:54.because he is down in seventh courtesy of Simoncelli, but

:04:54. > :04:58.nevertheless they will take a win and they won't care who it is.

:04:58. > :05:05.would be regarded by many as overdue for Ben Spies to knock off

:05:05. > :05:10.a win here, he was regarded as the fifth alien you remember last year.

:05:10. > :05:18.The leading guys in there, there are four then Simoncelli, add Ben

:05:18. > :05:22.Spies to it. You would have to say that Ducati, I guess, the change of

:05:22. > :05:26.of the system, the suspension system on the back, must be working,

:05:26. > :05:34.or it is giving Valentino Rossi a place in front of Nicky Hayden.

:05:34. > :05:41.Nicky Hayden is till on last year's, he will be frustrated as we look at

:05:41. > :05:46.the two Tech 3 bikes, that was crutch's leg sticking out. -- Cal

:05:46. > :05:51.Crutchlow. Made -- Nicky Hayden is supposed to get the suspension

:05:51. > :05:54.system that Rossi has. As I said earlier on in the show, Rossi only

:05:54. > :05:57.ha has three energies left now for the rest of the season, and if he

:05:58. > :06:01.goes to more than that, that was the indent again as we saw

:06:01. > :06:06.Simoncelli taking out lorn. If you have to use your seventh engine and

:06:06. > :06:11.I am talking about this guy here, you have to start from the pit lane.

:06:11. > :06:15.But I think one of the reasons that Nicky Hayden has not gone for this

:06:15. > :06:19.system, because he would then have to go into new energies and he had

:06:19. > :06:22.used four of his six, means he has two for the rest of the season.

:06:22. > :06:29.That is probably one of the reason, look at that Lorenzo through on

:06:29. > :06:35.Colin Edwards. So that shows you who is next down the road for

:06:35. > :06:41.Lorenzo, getting up into sixth position. Which is a laudable

:06:41. > :06:48.performance under the circumstances. Under the problems he has suffered.

:06:48. > :06:53.Lorenzo is pushing very hard. He is lapping mighty quickly. A 35.7.

:06:53. > :07:01.was about to say he is lapping faster than anyone on the track.

:07:01. > :07:07.Now we are looking at 24, tell, last time round, Jorge Lorenzo with

:07:07. > :07:12.35.788. So four tenths faster than the race leader. It shows you what

:07:12. > :07:17.anger does. Simoncelli meanwhile, still back there in 11th place, but

:07:17. > :07:26.I would say his bike was slightly more beaten up. Not only did he

:07:26. > :07:30.crash on the ground it has a Yamaha sat on top as it was sliding along.

:07:30. > :07:36.Toni Elias still having a difficult time although the record books will

:07:36. > :07:40.show this will be a top ten finish. He is pushing the envelope. He has

:07:40. > :07:44.finished in front of Alvaro Bautista. It is better than he has

:07:44. > :07:48.been doing and as far as the Championship is concerned, those

:07:48. > :07:52.two are battling it out for 14th and 15th place in the series, but

:07:52. > :07:57.not a bad ride for Toni Elias. Back with Ben Spies coming over the line.

:07:57. > :08:02.Four laps to go. Four laps to go for Ben Spies. This has been a bit

:08:02. > :08:07.of time coming. He has shown so much speed. He has had 27 MotoGP

:08:07. > :08:11.starts now, he has had three podiums. He has had a pole position

:08:11. > :08:14.and his best result is 2nd place. He has been knocking on the door.

:08:14. > :08:19.It has been coming for a long time. I uing think we thought it would

:08:20. > :08:28.have come before this. His last pole position was Indianapolis last

:08:28. > :08:34.year. He wasn't on pole today. If he gets the win he will forget ant

:08:34. > :08:38.that, he will get over it. It will vault him ahead. Currently only

:08:38. > :08:41.ninth in the Championship. He has had three races with where he has

:08:41. > :08:45.not finished. And Spies piest the man we are look at, he was saying

:08:45. > :08:55.he thought he could have gone faster but the lap he wanted to do,

:08:55. > :08:55.

:08:55. > :08:59.the lap he thought he was going to, Capirossi pulled out. He had a

:08:59. > :09:03.fantastic start. Wasn't first into turn one. Taking the iron sideline,

:09:03. > :09:10.getting in front of Simoncelli and Jorge Lorenzo. And not mixed up

:09:10. > :09:15.with the accident on that left hander at. So that is what the

:09:15. > :09:19.points would look like. Casey Stoner picking up 20 points if he

:09:20. > :09:27.finishes in second. Lorn, as you can see would hold on to second

:09:27. > :09:33.place, but 28 points adrift of Casey Stoner, so Stoner easing up

:09:33. > :09:37.that lead. It will help Spies but it won't affect anybody. Simoncelli

:09:37. > :09:42.not really taking any prisoners there. Jamming in but nice move.

:09:42. > :09:50.Nice and relatively clean. Didn't seem to upset Alvaro Bautista too

:09:50. > :09:51.much. What is going on with that Suzuki for Simoncelli to crash and

:09:51. > :09:55.still get past. They have struggled with not getting temperature. When

:09:55. > :10:00.the track is so cold they don't seem to generate enough heat and

:10:00. > :10:04.the big problem is now we have a controlled tyre, Bridgestone supply

:10:04. > :10:09.the tires It won't suit every bike. For some reason it would like to

:10:09. > :10:13.run softer tyres but you can only go as soft as softer option. You

:10:13. > :10:20.nearly have to build a motorcycle to suit the tyres. So it is all

:10:20. > :10:26.about working that out. Now, Ben Spies now coming round to... Finish

:10:26. > :10:30.this race in what a majestic race it has been for him as well. Very

:10:30. > :10:35.solid. Consistent all the the way through. I was going to say Casey

:10:35. > :10:39.Stoner decided to settle for second but he never settles for anything

:10:39. > :10:43.much. Even sew it is -- so, it is interest he has not been able to

:10:43. > :10:47.come to terms with Spies spoist at all. He must be carrying some sort

:10:47. > :10:51.of injury, from yesterday's crash, but don't take it away from Ben

:10:51. > :10:57.Spies, he is riding very well. As we have discussed and talked about

:10:57. > :11:01.yesterday in qualify, it is a good Yamaha track because it's a circuit

:11:01. > :11:04.of fast direction change and it's a well behaved bike. Very much so. As

:11:04. > :11:08.Valentino Rossi had a podium of course this year but not a bad

:11:08. > :11:12.result for him, fourth place. mean, that is exactly right.

:11:12. > :11:19.Useful.s for fourth. It will read like fourth place. But I would

:11:19. > :11:24.remind you he is 24 seconds behind this guy here, Ben Spies, so the

:11:24. > :11:29.highly clever boys in the Ducati team will know they have a bit on

:11:29. > :11:34.yet. They have. Last lap and stone had been working this out. It is

:11:34. > :11:37.handy 20 points for him. 16 for Andrea Dovizioso and Valentino

:11:37. > :11:40.Rossi will keep place in the Championship with his fourth place

:11:40. > :11:47.finish. Dani Pedrosa who was currently fifth is going to drop

:11:47. > :11:52.back down behind Nicky Hayden. The talk is that Dani Pedrosa will be

:11:52. > :11:57.back at Mugello next week. It has been a long time for him. That

:11:57. > :12:05.accident an incident we had in Le Mans and he missed the British

:12:05. > :12:11.Grand Prix, now missing Assen. the front it is Ben Spies. Champion

:12:11. > :12:16.in AMA in America. World Superbike champion. This is an important one

:12:16. > :12:20.to tick off the list. When he turned up in Europe having come

:12:20. > :12:22.from AMA American charm champion and did something special. Didn't

:12:23. > :12:26.mow the track. Generally a required has to learn the tracks but he came

:12:26. > :12:30.ore, learned the track but he won the Championship and was an

:12:30. > :12:35.absolute class act. Jumped straight into this. Went with Tech 3 Yamaha

:12:35. > :12:40.and did a great job for them of course, finishing up sixth in the

:12:40. > :12:43.Championship, straight into the factory team. So Lin Jarvis the

:12:43. > :12:50.stone face of Lin Jarvis, still recovering from the fact that Jorge

:12:50. > :13:00.Lorenzo was knocked off in the first lap, but this will ameliorate

:13:00. > :13:06.

:13:07. > :13:09.matters none. Fantastic result His first win finally done at

:13:09. > :13:13.absolutely brilliant. Casey Stoner getting across the line for very

:13:13. > :13:18.valuable points in second place, and then right after him, Andrea

:13:18. > :13:26.Dovizioso takes a podium, well earned, well raced. Across the line

:13:26. > :13:32.That is fair enough too. Encouragement for the guys in

:13:32. > :13:36.Ducati. Work to do but still fourth place for Valentino Rossi, and

:13:36. > :13:40.fifth place for Nicky Hayden, so that won't hurt the Championship

:13:40. > :13:44.hunt at all and Jorge Lorenzo after that amazing issue at the start,

:13:44. > :13:49.still shaking his head because he is still cross, as is Mr Jarvis his

:13:49. > :13:57.boss, he has come home in sixth place. Colin Edwards now just

:13:57. > :14:03.finishing off the single file in seventh. And away they go, a hugely

:14:03. > :14:09.gap field, we have 14 finish, one Cal Crutchlow who had that terrible

:14:09. > :14:15.tyre problem gets himself across the line. Aoyama an unspectacular

:14:15. > :14:20.eighth, and Simoncelli, where will he finish? It looks like a top ten

:14:20. > :14:23.finish. It might be ninth. Yes, he gets in front of Toni Elias who has

:14:23. > :14:28.had another lacklustre performance, it wasn't for this guy. Biestbiest

:14:28. > :14:31.-- Ben Spies. This is his 28th rate. Race, he has finally done.

:14:31. > :14:35.Congratulations from Valentino Rossi, acknowledging the enormous

:14:35. > :14:39.achievement, of Ben Spies, who has had so much promise, has not really

:14:39. > :14:44.troubled him in the Championship so much this year, he has had a

:14:44. > :14:54.difficult year. But after last year where he showed he had the pace,

:14:54. > :14:58.

:14:58. > :15:04.this race he has shown he can make Ben Spies always races with his mum,

:15:04. > :15:10.not literally but she travels with him. Congratulations, how do you

:15:10. > :15:17.feel, your son's first win in MotoGP? Nervous, had become a

:15:17. > :15:27.really happy for the crew and for Ben. Fantastic, go and enjoy it.

:15:27. > :15:33.

:15:33. > :15:39.He loses the tier at the front, it takes out Jorge Lorenzo. -- loses

:15:39. > :15:49.the tyre. Did not trouble this guy, the tyre. Did not trouble this guy,

:15:49. > :15:54.

:15:54. > :16:00.Fantastic victory for Ben Spies, what did you make of it? We had

:16:00. > :16:04.been expecting it, we know what a brilliant rider he is. It has been

:16:04. > :16:09.overdue. Absolutely faultless. He played it from the front, look at

:16:09. > :16:14.his pit board and did everything he should have done. He has had a

:16:14. > :16:18.really difficult first few rounds, for various reasons. It has been a

:16:18. > :16:22.crash and bash, think she would not expect from him. He has had a bad

:16:22. > :16:28.start to the season but I think his season has started properly here

:16:28. > :16:32.today at Assen. A great way for Yamaha to celebrate their 50th

:16:32. > :16:36.anniversary. I think they were expecting it to come from Jorge

:16:36. > :16:40.Lorenzo but they will take it, and it is great to see those red and

:16:40. > :16:45.white colours, after 50 years, still winning races. It will have

:16:45. > :16:48.scared Casey Stoner, how well the Yamaha has gone. Casey Stoner,

:16:48. > :16:55.probably the big winner, with Jorge Lorenzo being taken out. He has

:16:55. > :16:59.edged further ahead. Yes, he just wanted those 20 points, it has

:16:59. > :17:04.given him a lovely lead and he has just got to keep things together.

:17:04. > :17:14.It looked like he had a front tyre issue as well. Paul Cal Crutchlow,

:17:14. > :17:16.

:17:16. > :17:26.Paul he was aiming for a top five and it looked like a cold tear from

:17:26. > :17:27.

:17:27. > :17:31.the Bridgestone. I am sure we will find out before we get to Mugello.

:17:31. > :17:36.Simoncelli was his own worst enemy again. What is going to happen? Can

:17:36. > :17:41.you imagine the rift as far as the Spanish and the Italians, Lorenzo

:17:41. > :17:44.and Simoncelli? It was a mistake from Marco, he tipped it on, he

:17:44. > :17:49.knew the cold tier would be an effect. He said he didn't want the

:17:49. > :17:59.softer tyres so he has got a smack in the face. Take us through the

:17:59. > :17:59.

:17:59. > :18:58.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 59 seconds

:18:58. > :19:05.Congratulations, your first MotoGP when, in front of all the legends,

:19:05. > :19:09.with all the history here. There was a little pressure, I guess. I

:19:10. > :19:13.could see what happened in the first turn and I had a really good

:19:13. > :19:17.feeling on the warm-up laps. I wanted to go as far as I could in

:19:17. > :19:23.the beginning. Once I saw I had a gap, I tried to be as consistent as

:19:23. > :19:28.I could, tried to keep Casey Stoner at three-and-a-half, four seconds.

:19:28. > :19:36.The bike worked great today. It was hard to lead by myself but I tried

:19:36. > :19:44.to raise myself and my clock. -- race myself. To do it in front of

:19:44. > :19:54.the Assen fans and the 50th anniversary, it is really special.

:19:54. > :19:59.

:19:59. > :20:09.You can see a lot of pick up on those tyres. The motor O2 guys were

:20:09. > :20:19.There were lots of marbles out there. If you look at the right

:20:19. > :20:20.

:20:20. > :20:28.hand up shoulder on the front of the tier of Dovizioso, look at

:20:28. > :20:34.Stoner's front tyre as well. Not as badly knocked about as Dovizioso's,

:20:34. > :20:44.and it was good enough to put him into second place. A very important

:20:44. > :20:44.

:20:44. > :20:50.point. Thanks. Everything has been going tough. For the race, we were

:20:50. > :20:55.a bit disappointed because we did not get to test our setting. There

:20:55. > :20:59.were if the conditions and there was no way to get a track time. It

:20:59. > :21:06.worked better than we had during the weekend, but it still was not

:21:06. > :21:14.quite there. Ben Page and marker had a pay side could not match. --

:21:14. > :21:20.Ben and Marco had a place I could not match. I think even if I could

:21:20. > :21:25.have caught up to Ben Spies, he would have had the advantage. I am

:21:25. > :21:31.very happy with the result. It is something to keep us cheerful.

:21:31. > :21:38.Thank you, congratulations. Very cheerful indeed, it has been proved

:21:38. > :21:46.his point position. Jorge Lorenzo is back on 108 points, he has

:21:46. > :21:52.opened up that gap. More than one race wins worth. He is 28 points in

:21:52. > :21:59.front. Valentino Rossi, not hopelessly out of touch but on 81

:21:59. > :22:09.points in fourth. Nicky Hayden, 71, in fifth. Ben Spies moves up to

:22:09. > :22:14.seventh with 61 points from where He is a crestfallen a lad. Another

:22:14. > :22:21.look at it, inside Lorenzo. He taps on the power, the bike takes

:22:21. > :22:27.Lorenzo with him, everybody else sales surpassed -- sails past and

:22:27. > :22:32.Ben Spies is given a useful lead. There is the view from Lorenzo, the

:22:32. > :22:41.accident happened in front of him, it was one at present Simoncelli's

:22:41. > :22:45.accident, took out Jorge Lorenzo -- it was 100% Simoncelli's accident.

:22:45. > :22:49.Lorenzo will know there will be repercussions, he will not be on

:22:49. > :22:58.anybody's Christmas card list. A big day for Honda, but a huge day

:22:58. > :23:03.for Yamaha, winning against the odds. Very, very difficult. Honda

:23:03. > :23:08.has shown itself to be the horsepower bike, the bike to beat.

:23:08. > :23:15.Important to talk about Cal Crutchlow as well. He finished 14th,

:23:15. > :23:21.still in the points. They had a very long pit stop. He was two laps

:23:21. > :23:31.down by the end of it, but still in the points. Cal Crutchlow is 13th

:23:31. > :23:56.

:23:56. > :24:04.Nevertheless, getting some useful A couple of technical problems for

:24:04. > :24:09.Matt and Steve. Back into parc ferme. Watching the end of those

:24:09. > :24:14.interviews, a couple of points for Cal Crutchlow. He was running with

:24:14. > :24:18.the hounds, in spite of the collarbone injury. He was intact

:24:18. > :24:26.and dicing with Valentino Rossi when he had to come in. -- he was

:24:26. > :24:31.in touch. He gets a pittance of consolation points. Aoyama had a

:24:31. > :24:36.useless race, really. Finished eighth, way off the pace. He will

:24:36. > :24:41.be disappointed by that. Come back soon, Dani Pedrosa, you are not

:24:41. > :24:46.kidding! Could do with the numbers on the grid apart from anything

:24:46. > :24:56.else. Extraordinary scenes out there, Barbera getting lapped,

:24:56. > :25:06.which is baffling. Akiyoshi, also getting lapped, not what you would

:25:06. > :25:20.

:25:20. > :25:26.Excellent for the Yamaha team, with his 50th celebration, to be

:25:26. > :25:31.knocking over a result like this. Dovizioso, this time last year, he

:25:31. > :25:37.finished 5th. An improvement for him. He is third in the

:25:37. > :25:41.championship. He has improved his contact with the guys at the front,

:25:41. > :25:45.and given himself just a bit more of a gap over Valentino Rossi, who

:25:45. > :25:51.will be breathing down his neck a little bit. That is also quite

:25:51. > :25:56.useful. Ben Spies, on the top step of the podium, didn't think I would

:25:56. > :25:59.be saying that. No, apologies to everybody that we did not get a

:25:59. > :26:03.chance to speak to him, some technical problems. We will catch

:26:03. > :26:08.up with him next week at the Italian Grand Prix in Italy. What a

:26:08. > :26:11.day for Ben Spies and his whole family. Absolutely. We got to talk

:26:11. > :26:15.to his mum and she was pretty pleased, she has been here all

:26:15. > :26:20.season waiting for that. It was great for Yamaha, it has started

:26:20. > :26:24.Ben Spies' season. Yamaha need some updates, they have got to get a bit

:26:24. > :26:28.faster to keep up with Casey Stoner, but let's hope we can have a battle

:26:28. > :26:32.for the championship. It is not looking like it, with Casey Stoner

:26:32. > :26:36.on such fantastic form. Repsol Honda are leading the team

:26:36. > :26:41.championship by a stretch as well and he is looking pretty

:26:41. > :26:45.unstoppable. Things are not going the way of Jorge Lorenzo. It isn't.

:26:45. > :26:49.Defending is often harder than winning in the first place. Some of

:26:49. > :26:56.it, you can't blame him for. The crash at Silverstone, he was mad at

:26:56. > :26:59.himself but he knew he had work cut out, with the speed of the Honda's.

:27:00. > :27:09.Casey Stoner probably thought, let's keep finishing races, and he

:27:10. > :27:10.

:27:10. > :28:20.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 59 seconds

:28:20. > :28:24.The American national anthem sounds again here at Assen, just as it did

:28:24. > :28:27.in 2006 when Nicky Hayden won the race, and he went on to take the

:28:27. > :28:33.championship as well. Maybe this will be the first of many for Ben
