:00:00. > :01:16.They are ready for a start in Malaysia. Pedrosa making a move. Is

:01:17. > :01:23.he close enough? I don't think so. Not quite close in up. Now we have

:01:24. > :01:33.done it, can stop it? Dani Pedrosa wins in Malaysia. I was already

:01:34. > :01:45.super warm. I knew 45 minutes, in the letters, in the element, it

:01:46. > :01:49.would be a lot to offer. Lorenzo forcing the issue. Marquez can

:01:50. > :01:54.return the favour. This is as tight as you like. These two do not like

:01:55. > :02:02.each other. Down the inside. Lorenzo is back. There is contact. Lorenzo

:02:03. > :02:12.straight back again. This is just the most sensational session.

:02:13. > :02:18.Look at the lean angle. He has gone through. Can he hold him out? He has

:02:19. > :02:24.pushed Lorenzo White. Marc Marquez across the line in second. The

:02:25. > :02:30.reigning champion, Jorge Lorenzo... It was the only thing that we could

:02:31. > :02:38.do. Try to overtake him and get on and again. Hope that he makes a

:02:39. > :02:46.mistake. But when you are much lower than them, it is very difficult.

:02:47. > :02:53.They were much faster. Happy for the podium. I had a good battle with him

:02:54. > :03:04.in the beginning. Today was a little bit better. I tried to attack him.

:03:05. > :03:08.We had a great battle. It was too much risk trying to catch Dani

:03:09. > :03:21.Pedrosa. That is okayed. Second will be OK. We need to keep that way.

:03:22. > :03:26.Good morning. Welcome to Phillip Island for live qualifying ahead of

:03:27. > :03:32.tomorrow's Australian Grands Prix. We are after the second place in

:03:33. > :03:38.Malaysia that week. Marc Marquez will get his first opportunity to be

:03:39. > :03:41.crowned Moto GP world champion. For that to happen, he needs to score

:03:42. > :03:46.seven points more than Jorge Lorenzo. Victory, combined with

:03:47. > :03:50.third place for the current world champion, will be enough for him to

:03:51. > :03:58.become the first rookie to win the title, since 1978. With no Casey

:03:59. > :04:02.Stoner this weekend, it is certainly a big opportunity for another ride

:04:03. > :04:06.out to plant his flag on the island after six straight wins for Casey

:04:07. > :04:12.Stoner. At one guy who would not get the opportunity to do that is Stefan

:04:13. > :04:16.Bradl. He missed last week's race due to a fractured ankle. He had a

:04:17. > :04:21.practice crash in Malaysia. He had screwed back together last night,

:04:22. > :04:24.and unbelievably, he was back on this bike yesterday afternoon, only

:04:25. > :04:31.to decide that the pain was too much to carry on. Obviously very

:04:32. > :04:33.disappointing not to be able to raise after all the work to get you

:04:34. > :04:44.here. How are you feeling? here. The chance was very small that

:04:45. > :04:49.we could have a proper week. Everybody expected me in difficult

:04:50. > :04:54.shape. Finally we have tried it. To jump on the bike. I got a lot of

:04:55. > :04:58.pain. The most problem was the right corner. The first term, which is a

:04:59. > :05:05.really fast corner, where I could not push the foot rest. I could not

:05:06. > :05:09.get the bike into the corner. Even the change of direction was too hard

:05:10. > :05:14.for me. I felt a lot of pain and I did not know where to move my leg.

:05:15. > :05:19.There was no reason, because we cannot go up to some speed, and I

:05:20. > :05:27.could not see any reason why we should go ahead. The plan is to

:05:28. > :05:35.recover. To get the lake in a good condition. How likely is that you

:05:36. > :05:38.will be able to race in Japan? I think it is really possible. I am

:05:39. > :05:48.looking forward to it. Thereby day we will do a step forward. We would

:05:49. > :05:53.not be free of pain in Japan. Still we may have some little problems.

:05:54. > :05:59.But I think it will be much better. Good luck with your recovery. Thank

:06:00. > :06:06.you. Bad news for Stefan Bradl, but better news for Nicky Hayden. Their

:06:07. > :06:10.partnership was not looking as strong as they had hoped after the

:06:11. > :06:15.news last week that Aprilia racing boss, he would be moving to become

:06:16. > :06:23.the new general manager at Ducati. There was a lot of last-minute

:06:24. > :06:27.negotiations. The result of which, Nicky Hayden is back on board a

:06:28. > :06:34.Honda. He is writing a production racer with the team next year.

:06:35. > :06:39.Good news about your future for next year. It must be good to have that

:06:40. > :06:44.out in the open now. Yes it is quite good. We have to see how good the

:06:45. > :06:48.production bike is going to be but I am pretty excited about it. So far

:06:49. > :06:52.are really like the team and the guys there. I have had a good feel

:06:53. > :06:57.for them, going back to ponder where I have had a lot of success. It took

:06:58. > :07:02.a lot longer than I would have liked. A lot of chop ring and

:07:03. > :07:07.changing, possible superbike, possible this. But it worked out so

:07:08. > :07:11.I am grateful for the opportunity. After this season, to still have

:07:12. > :07:16.people behind me and wanting to give me a chance is very good. A lot of

:07:17. > :07:20.fans is still sticking with me. I look forward to it.

:07:21. > :07:25.You get the feeling that he is looking forward to getting off that

:07:26. > :07:30.bike. He was the only factory Ducati rider, the only Ducati rider at

:07:31. > :07:35.all, to qualify directly for Q2, which is due to take place in 20

:07:36. > :07:41.minutes or so. First, we have got you one. But he is straight through

:07:42. > :07:48.to Q2. The rest of Ducatis are out of the top ten. Dani Pedrosa managed

:07:49. > :07:53.to close the gap they did more on the hard tyre. Marc Marquez crashed.

:07:54. > :07:58.But the top five, separated by only two tense of a second.

:07:59. > :08:10.two Colin Edwards is also into Q2 and Randy De Puniet. They are on the

:08:11. > :08:17.CRT machines. Three prototypes will battle for one of the two spots in

:08:18. > :08:21.Q2. As I said, an excellent map. Ninth fastest overall after free

:08:22. > :08:27.practice this morning. We would just have a word with him now.

:08:28. > :08:35.lap from you this morning. Have a look at the lap times from last

:08:36. > :08:40.year. That would have put to second on the grid. But thanks to the new

:08:41. > :08:45.track surface. You say lap like it was just one. There were quite a

:08:46. > :08:53.few. It is the new surface, it is obviously good. I favourite track in

:08:54. > :08:59.the world. The bike is doing what I wanted to do. You find a happy rider

:09:00. > :09:02.and you will find a fast rider. You have been a happy rider for much of

:09:03. > :09:09.the second half of the season. It seems to have come together. The

:09:10. > :09:13.guys are also on. Last year we started working together. -- are

:09:14. > :09:19.awesome. A bit of a dismal year last year, but today we turned it around.

:09:20. > :09:24.Every week and little bit here, a little bit there, and we have got a

:09:25. > :09:30.good unit. You get to sit back and watch Q one today. What do you think

:09:31. > :09:35.you are capable of? It is crazy, hanging out with my feet up. A quick

:09:36. > :09:41.word before you go. They are interested to know about the track

:09:42. > :09:44.conditions as well. The temperature is really warm. This track has been

:09:45. > :09:51.offering almost too much good. We have seen a few tyre problems. I

:09:52. > :09:56.just did 16 laps in a row. We had a problem with the rear tyre. That is

:09:57. > :10:03.a hard tyre. We what have to figure something out.

:10:04. > :10:05.He will have to do a couple of simplifying to be competitive. But

:10:06. > :10:10.if the conditions are like this tomorrow, tyre choice this afternoon

:10:11. > :10:12.is going to be something the teams will have to bear in mind as well.

:10:13. > :10:17.will have to bear in mind as Dead right.

:10:18. > :10:19.We were just looking at the end of the free practice session

:10:20. > :10:24.immediately before this. Cal Crutchlow, looking at the rear tire

:10:25. > :10:27.of his bike. They had been practising on the hard tyre, which

:10:28. > :10:32.is one they should be using tomorrow, but it looked as though it

:10:33. > :10:37.had been tearing. This circuit has the longest corner, it is two

:10:38. > :10:41.corners together, Kearney 11 and 12, and it is the highest single set

:10:42. > :10:47.of temperatures they see anywhere in the world. I do not know what they

:10:48. > :10:51.would do to work it out. This is the track where asymmetric tyres were

:10:52. > :10:59.first used. They were designed for the surface because of the lot and

:11:00. > :11:05.lot of corners. The 11 and 12, strong together. I had a chat with

:11:06. > :11:10.Bradley Smith. He said he put a lot of race distance in on a softer tyre

:11:11. > :11:15.and he said it was OK, but he said he was told by Bridgestone to use

:11:16. > :11:23.the soft at tight -- the hard tyre. We sought help Crutchlow do ten

:11:24. > :11:26.laps. Tomorrow is another day. Temperatures could be different. But

:11:27. > :11:32.in fairness to Bridgestone, they did not know how to expect. You are

:11:33. > :11:38.right. The group level is sensational. As so many of the

:11:39. > :11:42.riders say. They love this circuit. Colin telling that it is his

:11:43. > :11:47.favourite place on the planet. It is mine as well for a lot of different

:11:48. > :11:51.reasons. But this is not a very different... This is an

:11:52. > :11:57.old-fashioned circuit. It is not stop and start. It really flows. You

:11:58. > :12:04.get momentum and you keep it. I know it is much wider and faster, but it

:12:05. > :12:08.reminds me... Spectators can get ready close to the action. As I

:12:09. > :12:13.drove back to our wonderful hotel last night, driving down the road, I

:12:14. > :12:19.was closer to the track than some of the circuits that you go to. The

:12:20. > :12:24.road runs right past the turn in 11 and 12. You can literally drive

:12:25. > :12:29.past. It is quite distracting actually. Keep your eyes on the

:12:30. > :12:33.road. But you look at the racetrack. You are often distracted. Let's get

:12:34. > :12:39.a quick snapshot of what we are looking for. It was not just Colin

:12:40. > :12:44.Edwards who was a sensation. Vaulting himself straight through to

:12:45. > :12:49.Q2. It was also Randy De Puniet. You will not see him out here as well.

:12:50. > :13:01.The fastest person in the pack is Aleix Espargaro. It was quite

:13:02. > :13:07.extraordinary. We see Dovizioso having a run first time out. He

:13:08. > :13:16.makes a mess of turn number one. Not having a good weekend. There is

:13:17. > :13:21.Espargaro. We expect to go through because he has been just outside of

:13:22. > :13:26.the times. But it is unusual for him to be beaten by his team-mate, Randy

:13:27. > :13:30.De Puniet. Having a good run, another circuit that he is

:13:31. > :13:38.learning. You have got Espargaro in there, who is not always in bed. He

:13:39. > :13:44.is so often up into Q2. But he is against Iannone nee MotoGP. As well,

:13:45. > :13:54.a factory Ducati, in the former Dovizioso. Things have been turned

:13:55. > :13:59.on their heads. He has just done a 131. Fastest lap that he has put in

:14:00. > :14:05.all weekend. Conditions are still very blustery. All the riders are

:14:06. > :14:10.struggling. It is the biggest problem, out of the Southern loop,

:14:11. > :14:17.turned two, where the front wheel is in the air and the wind is buying --

:14:18. > :14:21.blowing the bike away from them. It is a scary corner when the wheel is

:14:22. > :14:30.on the ground. I can say will you, Damian Cudlin, he has put will wait

:14:31. > :14:34.on the front. To keep the whole thing down. Everyone is shifting

:14:35. > :14:40.their seats for work and trying to use the bars, to get their wait up

:14:41. > :14:45.to the bike. That is a big issue. It is no good having a bike that is

:14:46. > :14:50.fast if the front wheel is no good. You cannot have a fast lap time.

:14:51. > :14:56.No-one rides more forward than him, Colin Edwards. I did have a chat

:14:57. > :15:01.with him. He was saying, my style is working right at the front of the

:15:02. > :15:07.bike. That is why it is going extremely well. Espargaro, number

:15:08. > :15:15.41, he does a 130.0. That is a fast time. 30.3 is the best he has

:15:16. > :15:16.managed across the weekend. 30.1. He is knocking right on the door.

:15:17. > :15:25.Straight through. It will be embarrassing if number

:15:26. > :15:37.four doesn't get through. He is arguably number one. He looks very

:15:38. > :15:45.comfortable. He said he was finding the wind scary. Much more than

:15:46. > :15:51.Nicky. It's very difficult. The wind is very strong, but we are coming

:15:52. > :15:56.down the pit straight and you can see the blue in the distance of the

:15:57. > :16:05.ocean. The wind is in the backs here. 210, 250 miles an hour, then

:16:06. > :16:16.they have two turn and tack back into the wind. Absolutely. She is

:16:17. > :16:43.having to fight that bike, it's all over the track. As . Another big

:16:44. > :16:47.issue for these guys, those wind into their backs on constant, they

:16:48. > :16:56.are busting all the time. That can surely affect you. We see a lot of

:16:57. > :17:00.positions. Interestingly, there is a fair bit run off now, so something

:17:01. > :17:08.does go wrong there is a better chance you can pick your bike up and

:17:09. > :17:13.keep going. It's about half a mile long, the straight year. But you are

:17:14. > :17:28.coming in to weigh over 100 miles an hour. -- way. Two corners, 11 and

:17:29. > :17:33.12, but they are on a throttle opening to is increasing all the way

:17:34. > :17:54.around. The nature array here out into the corner. -- then they chuck

:17:55. > :18:00.a right. They are literally on a reach, as you would say. Wright

:18:01. > :18:08.inside. That's difficult. We are looking at a factory Ducati which is

:18:09. > :18:19.not yet qualified for qualifying. Plenty of pressure there. As Barbara

:18:20. > :18:31.seems to have done well -- Aspargaro. Could you see a 27 with

:18:32. > :18:45.soft tyres? We were talking to the Honda riders last night, and Danny

:18:46. > :19:02.reckons that a 28 three... We could possibly see a 27, it depends on the

:19:03. > :19:06.conditions. What these guys might be thinking when they get a spare

:19:07. > :19:14.moment is the Ducati 14 times here in the hands of Casey Stoner. The

:19:15. > :19:35.last time, as recently as 2010. It is not just the bike. We heard from

:19:36. > :19:50.Stefan Bright early on, he's not writing, he saw. -- he is sore. He

:19:51. > :19:57.is behind Alvaro Bautista. But is there is 136. It will probably cost

:19:58. > :20:27.him a point in the championship. But it says is the -- the next man

:20:28. > :20:36.chasing him will have a hard time. I don't think this will be

:20:37. > :20:47.chasing him will have a hard time. I got and compromise there. It's

:20:48. > :20:58.wrecked the lap. Absolutely. He was not going out race pace. He is going

:20:59. > :21:08.to have to call that tyre down. Warren willing standing there, in

:21:09. > :21:21.charge of the test team for Ducati. I worked with him back in my day,

:21:22. > :21:25.he's been there a while. I asked him how much the Ducati is changing next

:21:26. > :21:31.year, and he said, not enough. That's bad news. This tyre is going

:21:32. > :21:40.to be a lot hotter and crosser than it was. We are in the second part.

:21:41. > :21:44.This is a Siberia corner. He looks across as if to say, please get out

:21:45. > :22:07.of my way, but I don't think he will. Is that not a sensational

:22:08. > :22:19.place to sit and watch? It's still Espargaro and in only. You are clear

:22:20. > :22:28.lap ahead of him. He seems to have a bit of a gap out in front of him

:22:29. > :22:35.now. This circuit is not the tyre to save for that last corner. It's

:22:36. > :22:43.pretty smooth. As long as he was reasonably judicious in the first

:22:44. > :22:54.party might be through it well. 1.5 minutes. Not his fastest lap. This

:22:55. > :23:01.is the last long left-hander. At the moment it is Espargaro, the Visio,

:23:02. > :23:38.and he has. Laverty is there, eight

:23:39. > :23:43.fastest, that's good. It's a technical circuit. Quite a bit it.

:23:44. > :23:48.There are some little tricks around this track that not everyone has

:23:49. > :23:58.rumbled. It will be interesting to see if Marc Marquez does rumble it.

:23:59. > :24:01.Casey Stoner was a very special around here and I think he does have

:24:02. > :24:15.a few secrets. He was very fast through his own corner. He was

:24:16. > :24:21.always sideways through them. It would be very interesting to see

:24:22. > :24:28.what Karl Crutchlow says later on. Espargaro might get the big squeeze

:24:29. > :24:32.here. We shall see. Everybody is still circulating, they can't afford

:24:33. > :24:54.not to. But remember the guy in provisional, did it for you so --

:24:55. > :25:10.Dovizioso. Espargaro is out of this, but he still on another lap. He's

:25:11. > :25:35.gotten through Hernandez and now we have to deal with Iannone. Agonising

:25:36. > :25:51.can make anything up on the second part, but there is Dovizioso... He

:25:52. > :25:58.has been sanctioned for that twice. It could be a penalty point. It is

:25:59. > :26:02.bad form to do that in qualifying when it's only a 15 minute session

:26:03. > :26:06.for these guys. Bearing in mind that he is fifth fastest at the moment,

:26:07. > :26:14.he now has the audacity to be chasing. The reason he got up to

:26:15. > :26:24.fifth fastest is he chased Dovizioso around after he delayed him. I think

:26:25. > :26:34.it is a forlorn hope for Espargaro. Here we go, Michael Laverty across

:26:35. > :26:45.the line. This is all pretty close. The fastest time is 1.30 dead. If I

:26:46. > :26:52.was Hernandez there, bike number 68, I would not pass number 41. I'd keep

:26:53. > :27:07.the helmet on for a bit longer as well. It is Spain versus Columbia.

:27:08. > :27:21.It's getting very physical. They may be having a chat with the race

:27:22. > :27:29.director. Who was at that little fight on the side of the track a few

:27:30. > :27:34.years ago? He was actually climbing into the car of the guy and trying

:27:35. > :27:50.to punch him to death, they had to drag him out by the hair. Australian

:27:51. > :28:01.motor sport, he? Dovizioso is about four ninths faster than his bin all

:28:02. > :28:04.weekend. Look at that view. It is astonishing. Most people would put a

:28:05. > :28:09.resort here but instead we have a racetrack. It's got astonishing

:28:10. > :28:21.views. If you miss your breaking point you will end up in the

:28:22. > :28:29.Antarctic. Does he look stiff and uncomfortable that, still? He looks

:28:30. > :28:39.a lot better. We haven't seen as many seagulls this year. Someone in

:28:40. > :28:47.superbikes took out an enormous bird. Hitting a signal at 200 miles

:28:48. > :28:54.an hour is very painful. Dovizioso gets a new visor clipped on. He will

:28:55. > :29:06.now have the bike Topshop, new tyres put in, and he'll go out again. --

:29:07. > :29:14.topped up. We shall see about tomorrow. To Ducati 's have gone

:29:15. > :29:26.through. Espargaro is a good player out of luck there. He really got

:29:27. > :29:31.tangled up with Hernandez. And he also got caught up with Iannone

:29:32. > :29:44.early on. Closer to the measures in front than

:29:45. > :29:48.his neighbours. Stefan Bradl at the back, who only did five laps in the

:29:49. > :29:55.morning. We know that he will not be starting the race. There is a great

:29:56. > :29:59.view of the circuit. You see the turn at the bottom. The furthest

:30:00. > :30:03.away. Turn one and two, and then through Southern loop, tight and

:30:04. > :30:11.then they get down to Siberia corner. A fair bit to learn. If

:30:12. > :30:15.anyone... Michael Laverty. The only rider out there with no prior

:30:16. > :30:18.experience of the track was Michael Laverty and he did a great job to

:30:19. > :30:25.qualify in 18th place. You happy with that? There was a bit more in

:30:26. > :30:32.the tank and I didn't quite get it out. I got bombed. I did not get a

:30:33. > :30:36.second go. I did my best lap on the first run. Disappointed not to get a

:30:37. > :30:42.few more tense but we are right in there. We have been doing good

:30:43. > :30:50.times. A bit of a nightmare with electronic problems. But no

:30:51. > :30:56.complaints. It is working quite good at the moment. I feel I can do

:30:57. > :31:00.something tomorrow. White confident. This is my first weekend at Phillip

:31:01. > :31:06.Island. An awesome circuits but quite difficult to learn. Making

:31:07. > :31:15.steps every time we go out on the track. You have had a bit of help,

:31:16. > :31:20.your crew chief. How has she helped? It was good fun. We do not have a

:31:21. > :31:30.crew chief this weekend because my crew chief has gone back. She has

:31:31. > :31:35.done a good job. We had a bit of a laugh. Fair play to her. You need

:31:36. > :31:39.got back as far as possible. Yet he is back next weekend. Good luck

:31:40. > :31:46.tomorrow. Let's go across the garage.

:31:47. > :31:50.He has a new team-mate. Yonny Hernandez has moved. It is Damian

:31:51. > :31:57.Cudlin. Confirmed for the rest of the season. First of all, happy

:31:58. > :32:02.birthday. You are celebrating today. You found some time this afternoon.

:32:03. > :32:06.I am sure that is pleasing. If you look at the time sheets, we are

:32:07. > :32:10.still making improvements every time we leave the box. It seems to be

:32:11. > :32:15.hard to do that on a race weekend. You do not have the luxury of time

:32:16. > :32:19.to experiment with lots of things. I have had my guys working flat out

:32:20. > :32:23.the last couple of days. We certainly tried a lot of stuff. We

:32:24. > :32:28.have made some inroads but we are struggling a bit. A bit further back

:32:29. > :32:34.than we would want to be. We need to improve on the last run. Hopefully

:32:35. > :32:39.our race pace is a bit better. Confirmed for the next two rounds as

:32:40. > :32:45.well. So that should give you the chance to build a little bit. Yes. I

:32:46. > :32:48.am really pleased that the team has given near the opportunity.

:32:49. > :32:53.Originally it was a fill in role. They seem to be happy enough with

:32:54. > :33:00.me. We are making progress with this bike. I am not giving up on it. I am

:33:01. > :33:04.giving 100%, so is the team. And we can see some steady improvement in

:33:05. > :33:11.the next races. Time for the big boys. It is a very

:33:12. > :33:16.fine line as they fight for pole position, pushing for the ultimate

:33:17. > :33:19.fast out and taking too many risks. It is a line that Marc Marquez will

:33:20. > :33:22.have to tread very carefully with the championship on the line and a

:33:23. > :33:28.few distracting moments already this weekend.

:33:29. > :33:34.Talk us through today. A bit of an incident for you in that session.

:33:35. > :33:37.Yes, this morning I felt so good with the bike. Everything was

:33:38. > :33:52.working quite well. But this afternoon, I had a crash. The guys

:33:53. > :34:04.were quite aggressive. The problem was with the second bike. I did not

:34:05. > :34:12.like it. But we do not have a time for a change. Tomorrow I hope to get

:34:13. > :34:16.again the good feeling. Will you have the title in your mind this

:34:17. > :34:25.weekend, on Sunday, when you are going to race? Will you raise a bit

:34:26. > :34:29.differently? No. We will see what the conditions are, my feeling on

:34:30. > :34:37.the bike. I take the same race as normal.

:34:38. > :34:47.Just have a look at this. This was this morning. This was after that

:34:48. > :34:52.one as he goes into MG. As the tips, you can see the front rear

:34:53. > :34:57.foldout at the same time. It lost grip. It lost the front group. Down

:34:58. > :35:02.here goes. A first gear corner. If you are going to crash that is the

:35:03. > :35:07.best one. He got the bike back up and went out and went faster. A few

:35:08. > :35:10.tumbles this weekend but he seems to be bang on form. I am not

:35:11. > :35:18.discounting him ball a pole position. It is the title won before

:35:19. > :35:22.the two big long ones. You go over the top, the bike gets very light.

:35:23. > :35:35.That was the two crashes that you saw. I guess MG is possibly the

:35:36. > :35:40.most... Crashing corner. Down to the bottom, it is the smallest, is

:35:41. > :35:45.lowest, shortest corner. The front is loaded up a great deal. He let go

:35:46. > :35:49.of the front brake. It kind of unloaded the bike. He was about to

:35:50. > :35:56.get back on the power and it unfolded. The form guide so far.

:35:57. > :36:02.Expect the times to tumble. As the Oracle has told us. Maybe a high 27,

:36:03. > :36:06.low 28. The fastest has been Lorenzo. Followed by Pedrosa,

:36:07. > :36:18.Marquez, Rossi. That is your top four. The best time that we have

:36:19. > :36:30.seen so far is a 28.961, in the three official timed practice

:36:31. > :36:36.sessions. So a low 28 for sure. We shall see. Oh my goodness. That is

:36:37. > :36:51.the first is the goal of the afternoon. I hope he knows it is

:36:52. > :36:57.there. Seagull. Oh my goodness.Does he know it missed him? He doesn't.

:36:58. > :37:07.He does not want to rule on a tyre for a bird. The difficulty, of

:37:08. > :37:14.course, is that there could be a hit issue. It is one hell of a headache

:37:15. > :37:19.for the bird. There you go. We have got a man down already. Randy has

:37:20. > :37:25.been covered in glory now he is covered in dirt and grass.

:37:26. > :37:29.Unfortunately, can he get that back. He has got 15 minutes. I do feel

:37:30. > :37:34.sorry for Jorge Lorenzo. That is going to make a difference to him

:37:35. > :37:40.down the straits. It could turn the thing inside out. You do not want

:37:41. > :37:50.the gizzards to land on urea as well. That Southern loop. Randy

:37:51. > :37:54.trading to chase it a bit too early. He is out of this session. The only

:37:55. > :38:01.good news is that he is relock into the first. He cannot get worse than

:38:02. > :38:07.the even does on. He is still carrying a passenger.

:38:08. > :38:11.I doubt very much he would have hurt the clunk and seen the bird, but he

:38:12. > :38:17.does not realise it is still attached. It does look like a

:38:18. > :38:25.strange paint scheme. He cannot see it either. Let's have a look at what

:38:26. > :38:33.he is going to do, carrying an extra past -- passenger. Lorenzo goes

:38:34. > :38:37.fastest. They make it pole position on that provision. That is the

:38:38. > :38:45.fastest lap of the weekend. He was lighting, wasn't he? No bones in

:38:46. > :38:53.that. Honestly made, that is horsefeathers. Marquez right in

:38:54. > :39:00.between. 28.8. They are chipping away at early and fast. Expect more

:39:01. > :39:04.to come. Dani Pedrosa crosses the strike. That is faster for him but

:39:05. > :39:11.still a relatively vestry in seventh. Crutchlow was in good shape

:39:12. > :39:19.last time around. He did a great job. We are hoping for big things

:39:20. > :39:25.from him again. As you know, he was on the podium last year. Have a look

:39:26. > :39:30.at this. Jorge Lorenzo is still fast. This is a very fast lap. This

:39:31. > :39:39.will be a 28.5 if he can keep the momentum up. He is coming through

:39:40. > :39:43.the final corner. One more to go. He will touch the apex on the inside.

:39:44. > :39:56.Head down as he goes across the strike. I reckon a 28.5. Again, the

:39:57. > :40:01.fastest lap. Marquez is on a big one as well. Here we go. Out on

:40:02. > :40:09.nanograms, through the last split. He has lost a bit of time. Really

:40:10. > :40:22.pressing on. Will it cost him? How much will it cost him? Absolutely

:40:23. > :40:29.all over it. Boy oh boy. There you go. That is the time forecast by

:40:30. > :40:34.Pedrosa last night. Pedrosa himself is on 28.9. Expect more from him.

:40:35. > :40:38.But we only have nine minutes left of the session. He was the fastest

:40:39. > :40:41.guy out there, but we talk about the wind and keeping the bike on the

:40:42. > :40:49.track, he will be struggling more than any wound else. Colin Edwards?

:40:50. > :40:56.10th fastest at the moment. Hopefully he is okayed. He is

:40:57. > :41:02.getting his gloves off. Valentino Rossi had a stinker. The first one

:41:03. > :41:11.was not so good. The second... He is fourth at the moment. Giving it

:41:12. > :41:18.everything. Valentino Rossi loves the circuit. He has had five wins.

:41:19. > :41:21.He loves the track. He is enjoying it. Jorge Lorenzo comes back into

:41:22. > :41:29.happy is by cleaned up and to get another tyre. Extraordinary. That he

:41:30. > :41:41.did not realise, that he was carrying a bird with him.

:41:42. > :41:54.Look at the photographers around the bike now. Novelty value. Did he

:41:55. > :41:59.damage it? That is the important thing, that it did not break their

:42:00. > :42:06.sense of the bike. Marquez with a new poll lap record. That has been

:42:07. > :42:15.taken away. It was a 28.655, held by Casey Stoner. It was always going to

:42:16. > :42:19.happen. The circuit is a whole new shooting match. We are not comparing

:42:20. > :42:25.like for like. Seven minutes left, everybody in there. They are looking

:42:26. > :42:31.at the novelty bird on Lorenzo's bike. But it is Marquez, from

:42:32. > :42:41.Lorenzo, from Pedrosa, from Rossi. Coal Crutchlow is fit. Marc Marquez,

:42:42. > :42:46.28... The fastest. About half a second faster than we have seen

:42:47. > :42:53.through the weekend. They are trying to sort out race bikes, be set up or

:42:54. > :42:58.stop having a chat. It is going to be interesting what goes on tomorrow

:42:59. > :43:02.with these tyres. What they will be able to sort out. It is the same in

:43:03. > :43:09.Moto two, everyone having some issues. This is not really helping

:43:10. > :43:16.their calculations about what to do tomorrow. Not at all. Max and engine

:43:17. > :43:27.power, wind everything up, the soft is tired that you can get, and hold

:43:28. > :43:32.your breath. Go for it.We have got almost everybody in the pits at the

:43:33. > :43:36.moment. Nicky Hayden still on track. Colin Edwards has crashed,

:43:37. > :43:43.unfortunately. I do not think Randy De Puniet actually made, recorded a

:43:44. > :43:50.lap, so deeply uncomfortable and disappointing for him, having

:43:51. > :43:55.finally made it directly into Q2. You see the soft tyre. The white

:43:56. > :44:00.band on it. Six minutes remaining. Only be a couple of laps by the time

:44:01. > :44:04.they get in. But that is the optimum. Your first lap is usually

:44:05. > :44:20.the best grip, the second, dropped off just a touch by then. Five

:44:21. > :44:37.minutes 50. So it is. Marc Marquez, Jorge

:44:38. > :44:42.Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa. That will be the front row if things do not

:44:43. > :44:46.change. But it is the second runway things start creeping down. The

:44:47. > :44:51.session before, they went down with the hard tyres to find a rate set

:44:52. > :44:57.up. They went down with the group. Eat out the last little touch. Is

:44:58. > :45:01.Lorenzo going to get out again? I am pretty certain that he will do. But

:45:02. > :45:07.as the time ticks away, he will not get many laps. He is second at the

:45:08. > :45:11.moment so he will want to do that. He and Marquez are a fair way ahead

:45:12. > :45:14.of Dani Pedrosa in third. Bossi is in for. It is not that close. --

:45:15. > :45:27.Rossi. He has been fast in his own right

:45:28. > :45:30.across the weekend. The second quickest in yesterday 's practice.

:45:31. > :45:37.He looked pretty strong. We will see where that leaves him. Back that we

:45:38. > :45:44.go. Lorenzo has got to do it. He's been the fastest across the weekend.

:45:45. > :45:48.There is no reason that he can't topple Marc Marquez. We will wait

:45:49. > :45:56.and see. Marquez has had two crashes across the weekend and that will be

:45:57. > :46:01.on his mind. Valentino Rossi. It is still looking like fourth spot for

:46:02. > :46:11.him. He will be trying his best anyway. Could you squeeze him on?

:46:12. > :46:25.This one will be faster than Dani Pedrosa 's lap. The bike is going

:46:26. > :46:42.later the crests the later the top of the hill there. He

:46:43. > :46:48.let it run out and then comes back for the last part of this. Stands by

:46:49. > :46:53.coppice because you can run out to the front. What is he going to

:46:54. > :47:03.squeeze out of 129? It doesn't move him up, but it puts him with five

:47:04. > :47:20.hundredths of Dani Pedrosa. There is a real tight cluster are there. Look

:47:21. > :47:28.at Bautista doing everything he can bear. Marc Marquez, 93, just under

:47:29. > :47:46.at this point. This is a good lap from Bautista. They have similar

:47:47. > :47:48.bikes. It is virtually a full factory machine with shallow

:47:49. > :47:56.suspension. Over the top of the hill. He is through their nicely.

:47:57. > :48:16.Here is Bradley Smith. What's he got? That's done it again. Bradley

:48:17. > :48:30.Smith in front of Cal Crutchlow. Bautista third. Rossi up into third.

:48:31. > :48:36.Lorenzo Rossi, there's your front runner. What's happening to Dani

:48:37. > :48:47.Pedrosa? We thought he had more in him. There is Lorenzo. He is fast in

:48:48. > :48:53.the middle section. It is whether or not he can really deliver. He is

:48:54. > :48:58.good through here. Very very fast. He is keeping that speed up. The

:48:59. > :49:14.Armagh may not have quite the punch, but he carries the speed. --

:49:15. > :49:22.Yamaha. 27. We've made it.Those errors and have improved this time

:49:23. > :49:31.around. Jorge Lorenzo, we thought it would be a 27 and it is. There is

:49:32. > :49:40.Crutchlow. Fifth fastest. Dani Pedrosa just hanging on in the

:49:41. > :49:54.second round. Lorenzo is on another planet. Baptist is still pressing on

:49:55. > :49:59.-- Bautista. He is just spotted that often run out of luck there.

:50:00. > :50:13.Lorenzo, Rossi. That looks like the front row. And Marquez. His tie will

:50:14. > :50:23.have seen its best, but he is having another go. -- tyre. He is not a

:50:24. > :50:30.long way out but he is out as you can see. He is still being followed

:50:31. > :50:33.by Bautista. Holiday Lorenzo probably won't even know at this

:50:34. > :50:54.point that his got top position but he has. -- Jorge. To battle here is

:50:55. > :51:19.what has happened to Dani Pedrosa. Is he about to market with a monster

:51:20. > :51:36.at lap. -- . He's been disoriented. Marquez with that rare tyre gone. --

:51:37. > :51:54.rear. Bautista 's time will stick. The Honda sandwiched between the

:51:55. > :52:00.Yamahas. He just run into hot. It's a big drop down there. But no harm

:52:01. > :52:15.done. The lap was already recorded the last time around. Interesting,

:52:16. > :52:22.Steve, we were talking about this last night. One of the keys to the

:52:23. > :52:31.circuit is that it is a fast and flowing pace. It's not a stop start

:52:32. > :52:34.circuit. The Yamaha does the job. You know you need a lot of

:52:35. > :52:41.horsepower to get your time up if someone comes out of the corner

:52:42. > :52:46.faster than you. He is out of turn 12, half mile straight... If you

:52:47. > :52:49.could run through that corner, it doesn't matter how much horsepower

:52:50. > :53:02.it you've got, you are not going to make any ground. Not a lot of

:53:03. > :53:08.breaking, either. The rest of it is just squeezing in dabbling a little

:53:09. > :53:13.bit. Marc Marquez has got to be pretty happy with that, the front

:53:14. > :53:28.row again. How many times is that? Quite extraordinary. This year, he's

:53:29. > :53:35.been on the front row 12 times. As long as he finishes the race, it is

:53:36. > :53:51.a podium as well. He is almost certainly won the BMW lap time for

:53:52. > :53:57.this year. A good job from Marquez as usual. He will be massively

:53:58. > :54:07.threatening tomorrow. We saw in Malaysia how determined Lorenzo is.

:54:08. > :54:12.He did anything he could do keep him at bay. It's been awhile since we

:54:13. > :54:30.have seen a pair of factory Yamahas on the front row only one Honda.

:54:31. > :54:37.Pedrosa will be slightly disappointed not to be on the front

:54:38. > :54:50.row. He starts in this place. -- fifth. Nice to see Rossi back on the

:54:51. > :55:02.front row, though. All the crew that works closely around Valentino

:55:03. > :55:08.Rossi, they are all Aussie . Marc Marquez is going to be quite a

:55:09. > :55:16.handful. We could be in for absolutely spelt in race. Lorenzo is

:55:17. > :55:30.really giving a quarter last time you race closely with Steve. We saw

:55:31. > :56:02.Colin Edwards take that tumble but he is still in line. It's quite a

:56:03. > :56:09.big improvement, but we will see. Tomorrow will be hard because

:56:10. > :56:19.everybody is trying. Big race for you tomorrow. Yes, but there will

:56:20. > :56:23.always be another race. Well, if we want to see the championship go

:56:24. > :56:28.along way, we want to see Mr Lorenzo do jolly well. If Marquez wins and

:56:29. > :56:36.Lorenzo was third, that will be enough to take the title out. We

:56:37. > :56:39.wanted to go down to the line. The forecast is good for tomorrow, so

:56:40. > :56:45.let's hope the wind is not too strong. Let's hope the tyres or work

:56:46. > :56:53.out, they have so far this season. Valentino, perfect start for

:56:54. > :57:03.tomorrow, how do you feel? It's good to be in the front row. That two

:57:04. > :57:07.races in a row. Also, if the qualifying are a bit difficult,

:57:08. > :57:16.everybody is very worried for tomorrow, it's hard to concentrate

:57:17. > :57:23.just on the qualifier and not worry about tomorrow. Anyway, I'm very

:57:24. > :57:30.happy about being in the front or. As always it is a good position to

:57:31. > :57:33.start from. It is a jolly good position indeed. That's the big

:57:34. > :57:39.question. What do we do about the tyres. That's going to be quite

:57:40. > :57:45.interesting. They've got a conundrum. The tyres are expected to

:57:46. > :57:48.be more durable if they are harder, but sometimes they will sound more.

:57:49. > :58:02.There is a lot of work that will be going on tonight. Lorenzo and really

:58:03. > :58:09.needs to win tomorrow. It's been a long time but we didn't get a pole

:58:10. > :58:30.position. This was my track and I needed to try it, so I did. That's

:58:31. > :58:33.it. Marc Marquez is looking to wrap up the championship, but that man

:58:34. > :58:35.starts on pole so he will be on a wing and a prayer. We will see you

:58:36. > :58:40.tomorrow on BBC Two.
