:00:10. > :00:17.And it will be time for the two teams to settle it... The ball off
:00:18. > :00:24.the near side... And he's looking down field...
:00:25. > :00:29.Unbelievable! Yes, yes! How did he do that? He's
:00:30. > :00:40.got it. Hello and welcome to Twickenham for
:00:41. > :00:44.the second of this season's Bridgestone international series.
:00:45. > :00:47.Today the home of rugby hosts the NFL for the very first time. Much
:00:48. > :00:51.like our special relationship with our American friends, there's a lot
:00:52. > :01:05.more that connects the two sports than divides them.
:01:06. > :02:00.The New York Giants verses the LA Rams. A heavy-weight line-up. All
:02:01. > :02:04.three of my guests providing insight throughout the afternoon, along with
:02:05. > :02:08.special guests. Our two teams today play in the NFC conference in the
:02:09. > :02:14.NFL. They are in different divisions. The Giants are bottom of
:02:15. > :02:18.the NEC East. They are alive and kicking with a 3-3 record. They will
:02:19. > :02:21.consider themselves in the hunt for the playoffs. You can see the
:02:22. > :02:27.daylight between the Cowboys and so the latter may have to settle for a
:02:28. > :02:32.wildcard spot. In the NFL only the division winners are guaranteed a
:02:33. > :02:38.playoff. In the West, the Rams back in LA for the first time in season
:02:39. > :02:42.thasmt've had three wins and three defeats T Seahawks within touching
:02:43. > :02:47.distance in that division. It is a huge pressure on both teams today.
:02:48. > :02:52.One will travel back with a winning record. The Rams are the de facto
:02:53. > :02:57.home team. They have been in town all week, getting a lot of attention
:02:58. > :03:01.from the media, including our reporter, who went in search of one
:03:02. > :03:15.of their stars. That was Case Keenum.
:03:16. > :03:19.Welcome to the UK. How important it is for you to get here early to have
:03:20. > :03:23.the break after the weekend? Each time you don't win you don't
:03:24. > :03:27.accomplish all your goals. I think it takes time to look back, review
:03:28. > :03:32.the film and learn from your mistakes. Guys did that, and ready
:03:33. > :03:35.to move on. It will be on the practise field, ready to look
:03:36. > :03:39.forward to the next week and exciting that we're here in London.
:03:40. > :03:44.How different has it been knowing you have been starting as
:03:45. > :03:50.quarterback but Jared Goff is waiting in the wings? I find if you
:03:51. > :03:53.look too far behind, or look too far ahead, you get overwhelmed with
:03:54. > :03:57.things. I try to look right now on my job to do right now. And that is
:03:58. > :04:03.practise and then get ready for tomorrow. And we see you and Jared
:04:04. > :04:07.out in practise talking. Do you talk about this potential rivalry? You
:04:08. > :04:11.know, we both try to help each other out. It is good to have more than
:04:12. > :04:14.one set of eyes looking at a defense. I can see some things, he
:04:15. > :04:18.can see some things and sometimes when you are removed from the
:04:19. > :04:24.situation gooed to have an objective point of view of things. We help
:04:25. > :04:29.each other out. If you think back to 2012 when you were undrafted, you
:04:30. > :04:33.used that to your advantage. Is it about proving people wrong? A little
:04:34. > :04:38.bit. I like to prove people right. Those who believed in me, my
:04:39. > :04:42.friends, my coaches, more than I like to prove people wrong. It does
:04:43. > :04:46.feel good when you prove them wrong too.
:04:47. > :04:54.So you are three in three. You are an old Houston boy. You know the
:04:55. > :04:58.Super Bowl is in Houston, do you look around this team and think,
:04:59. > :05:03.yes, we've got the potential to do it? Yes I think so. Houston, a long
:05:04. > :05:07.way off, but it is exciting to think about going back home and to play
:05:08. > :05:11.there would be a dream come true. Given that, does that make this
:05:12. > :05:15.weekend make or break? You know, each week is important. Looking back
:05:16. > :05:19.after the season, you never know what game is the one that mattered,
:05:20. > :05:24.if you could take one play from one game and change that and it changes
:05:25. > :05:27.the season. So that why we approach each practise with everything we've
:05:28. > :05:34.got. We approach each game with everything we've got. And the guys
:05:35. > :05:41.receiving it, like Gurley, how important have they been? It is a
:05:42. > :05:46.great job. My receivers as well. All of the guys, they have done a
:05:47. > :05:48.really good job and have come on lately too, playing really well.
:05:49. > :05:51.They are hungry. They want the football. They want guys who want
:05:52. > :06:02.the football. They are excited. He's not the most high profile
:06:03. > :06:06.player in the NFL, but last week against the Lions he showed what he
:06:07. > :06:13.was capable of for a lot of the game. That was against the Lions.
:06:14. > :06:16.People forget he started the end of last season, they went four in one
:06:17. > :06:22.for the four games. People concentrate on what he can't do,
:06:23. > :06:27.which is he doesn't have a real strong... He's not the strongest
:06:28. > :06:31.guy. He wants a run-orientated team. He wants to turn the ball over. He's
:06:32. > :06:36.accurate enough when he throws. That is what they want most from him, his
:06:37. > :06:39.accuracy. As we heard in the interview they have spent big on
:06:40. > :06:42.Jared Goff. They reached up for him in the draft. He was expected by
:06:43. > :06:46.many people to start this season at least by now. So the plan has not
:06:47. > :06:50.gone as they hoped, has it? It hasn't gone as they hoped. It is
:06:51. > :06:54.because in college he didn't run in offense. He has to get caught up to
:06:55. > :06:59.speed and get it under his belt, which is very difficult in the NFL.
:07:00. > :07:03.You mentioned Todd Gurley, a very talented player in this heavy
:07:04. > :07:07.offense which is what Jeff Fisher wants to run, of course. But it has
:07:08. > :07:12.not been going to plan so far, has it? Not at all. That is a big
:07:13. > :07:15.problem for the las ang gles Rams. Based on defense, running the
:07:16. > :07:19.football. They have not been able to run the ball well. If they continue
:07:20. > :07:24.not to run the ball well they will be very unsuccessful in the future.
:07:25. > :07:27.He has to get help from his friends, the offensive line has not given him
:07:28. > :07:31.time. They are worried about pass protection. He has the talent to be
:07:32. > :07:36.the next Peter son in this league. If you think back to when Jeff
:07:37. > :07:42.Fisher used to coach winning teams back in Tennessee they were built
:07:43. > :07:46.around George running the ball, five, six times a game. They want
:07:47. > :07:51.Gurley to be the whoun loves it. He was coming into the NFL off a bad
:07:52. > :07:57.injury. You cannot make him a workhorse off that. The Giants'
:07:58. > :08:03.offensive line, protecting Eli Manning and co against the Rams
:08:04. > :08:07.defensive line. That is led by Donald. The most. This is a
:08:08. > :08:11.defensive tackle. Quick, fast can do everything. He plays the run and
:08:12. > :08:18.rushes the pass. As a matter of fact he rushes the pass and plays the run
:08:19. > :08:25.on his way toback. Cannot forget about Quinn also.
:08:26. > :08:29.We saw about five different moves there on one rush from Donald. He is
:08:30. > :08:34.tremendous. Now, you can hear Craig David
:08:35. > :08:37.performing behind us. He sold over 30 million albums worldwide, of
:08:38. > :08:39.course and in the middle of a successful comeback. A new album and
:08:40. > :08:53.a new tour to look forward to. # Ain't giving up on you...
:08:54. > :08:57.Speaking of comebacks, we were getting into that. Speaking of
:08:58. > :09:00.comebacks, there are few in the NFL more experienced than dragging his
:09:01. > :09:05.team from the brinks than Eli Manning. Seeing as OJ are not one
:09:06. > :09:11.but two Super Bowls with the Giants who better to get the lowdown on one
:09:12. > :09:18.of the best in the business. Listen all you New Yorkers... Let's show
:09:19. > :09:29.them what we all do. Eli Manning...
:09:30. > :09:38.Eli... My man, Eli! Look at him! Eli Manning... The champion.
:09:39. > :09:43.You've got to make it happen... My man, my main guy. Played ten years
:09:44. > :09:49.with you. How you? Doing great. How are you? Enjoying myself. We played
:09:50. > :09:53.here in the first international series back in '07. You scored a
:09:54. > :10:00.rush down touch in that game and showed off your speed.
:10:01. > :10:03.Eli Manning and he will waltz into the end zone.
:10:04. > :10:08.Some people have it. I am very blessed.
:10:09. > :10:12.What are your memories of that game and the way London was and how we
:10:13. > :10:17.were received back then? Obviously the first time, the crowd was kind
:10:18. > :10:22.of cheering at odd times. You would have a ten-yard pass and they were
:10:23. > :10:29.cheering like... Hey, you played ten yards, that is pretty fast. You had
:10:30. > :10:34.a 3nd 1, it is like that is boring. Where's the action. They
:10:35. > :10:39.like the fights, the punts and, you know, so ten years later, going to
:10:40. > :10:45.enter and see how the crowd reacts. Looking forward to it.
:10:46. > :10:49.Hurry-up... You guys haven't made the playoffs in four years and I
:10:50. > :10:54.know that weighs heavy on your heart. How will you rectify that
:10:55. > :10:58.this year? We have ways to win the close games. Last year we lost a
:10:59. > :11:02.tonne of close ones. We had a chance to win and couldn't go down and
:11:03. > :11:05.score. We did a good job winning a few of them, but not enough. It is
:11:06. > :11:11.that mind set, it is that belief, it is that trust, when it gets to the
:11:12. > :11:18.fourth quarter we will make the play. Defense and stop when you need
:11:19. > :11:22.it. It's about everybody believing. What about the turnover on thes are
:11:23. > :11:26.ter, last time we won the championship was back in 2012. There
:11:27. > :11:32.are only four players remaining on that particular team. Do you feel
:11:33. > :11:37.like a dinosaur? Yes, you know, that's the NFL. You learn that
:11:38. > :11:42.quickly. The NFL, you are there three years it is a lifetime. We
:11:43. > :11:48.have guys going into that second, third year. Those are the best teams
:11:49. > :11:54.when you have the great family. Going to the end zone...
:11:55. > :11:59.Touchdown... I don't know how superstitious you are. Last time the
:12:00. > :12:07.Giants were here, you know how it ended last season. Super Bowl.
:12:08. > :12:13.That's right. . Want to do our job, get a win here and make it possible.
:12:14. > :12:20.Eli seems unassuming, very mild mannered. For a quarterback that is
:12:21. > :12:24.an attribute because he's calm under pressure. Others think they need to
:12:25. > :12:28.be big and brash. Sometimes he gets criticism for that. He is big and
:12:29. > :12:33.brash on the inside. He doesn't let it come out. He is a competitor who
:12:34. > :12:39.believes in himself. He gets the job done for the New York Giants week
:12:40. > :12:46.in, week out. He puts it out there for his team. In a sense z what the
:12:47. > :12:51.Giants' game has been about for years, get big plays out of Eli. The
:12:52. > :12:54.last couple of years they have tried to play a more controlled game.
:12:55. > :12:57.Shorter passes, don't turn the ball over as much. As you watch them,
:12:58. > :13:03.they are still a big playing team. They depend on the big passes from
:13:04. > :13:11.Eli, especially and to Cruz and whoever else is at the other
:13:12. > :13:16.receiver spots. Odell Beckham - one of the superstars in the NFL right
:13:17. > :13:20.now. He's coming to London on the up after a difficult season so far.
:13:21. > :13:24.Yeah. He's a superstar. He's the heart beat of that team. He's so
:13:25. > :13:28.explosive. He gets the crowd behind him and those guys feed off of him.
:13:29. > :13:35.When he's playing well the defense picks it up. He is that team right
:13:36. > :13:40.now. We are seeing some of him right now. Is there too much pressure on
:13:41. > :13:45.him? He's taken around the world as an NFL ambassador? I wouldn't say
:13:46. > :13:49.there's too much pressure on him. He brings this on himself with all the
:13:50. > :13:53.things he does off the field. He has the blond hair. Great
:13:54. > :13:57.responsibility, this is what will happen to players like this. At the
:13:58. > :14:02.end of the day he's a great performance. This is last week
:14:03. > :14:08.against the Ravens and Beckham, that was their offense. You play
:14:09. > :14:13.quarterback, how would you feel about covering Odell Beckham?
:14:14. > :14:18.Dangerous. You cannot give him any room. He's dangerous. Now we have
:14:19. > :14:22.seen a lot of the Giants and you notice as well in the warm-up he was
:14:23. > :14:26.coming into this game with injury concerns, and he didn't look right,
:14:27. > :14:31.did he? He is walking around with a trainer and that is a red flag. You
:14:32. > :14:35.are trying to get ready for your game, when the trainer is next to
:14:36. > :14:40.you, that means you have an issue, a concern. We will watch this space
:14:41. > :14:46.closely. On the defensive side of the board, the Giants re-upped in
:14:47. > :14:51.the off season,s they are the worse defense in the NFL last time. They
:14:52. > :14:57.spent big on Jenkins, five years, $62 million. Is he worth the money?
:14:58. > :15:01.They got Jenkins from the Rams. He will know the receivers. He was the
:15:02. > :15:07.second best quarterback on the Rams. That is crucial. He's a gambling
:15:08. > :15:11.kind of guy. He likes to go and play people, take chances. That is the
:15:12. > :15:17.same is true of all the other quarterbacks. It is a bad
:15:18. > :15:20.combination. It is. I like gambling corners because they make plays.
:15:21. > :15:26.They need corners and that is why they've got him. He's been the best
:15:27. > :15:29.chance so far. Not only who is a good player. It is that guy right
:15:30. > :15:34.there. He's been playing phenomenal football. It could be a close game
:15:35. > :15:36.and may end up being crucial that the Giants have a brand new kicker
:15:37. > :15:49.going into this game. Josh Brown is suspended while the
:15:50. > :15:52.NFL is investigating domestic abuse, so they have signed Robbie Gold, who
:15:53. > :15:59.used to be with the Bears. Until they decide punishment will not be
:16:00. > :16:02.playing. As we heard Eli Manning already has two Super Bowl rings and
:16:03. > :16:06.he has plenty of gas left in the tank, one of the top ten
:16:07. > :16:11.quarterbacks of all time in passing yardage. He could move up the list
:16:12. > :16:13.into ninth today with our heart decent day. Let's have a look at the
:16:14. > :17:37.illustrious company he finds himself in.
:17:38. > :17:44.In a passer dominated NFL, more so than ever before for, even so it
:17:45. > :17:48.makes his achievement getting on that list pretty special. There is
:17:49. > :17:54.something about being that good for that long. That is worth credit
:17:55. > :17:59.itself. Even if you are not arguably the best in any given era. That is
:18:00. > :18:08.the story for him, being that good for 38 -- for that long. You have to
:18:09. > :18:12.be healthy and stay on the field. ESPN on Twitter earlier, saying the
:18:13. > :18:19.best selling NFL jerseys in the UK this year, Odell Beckham first, then
:18:20. > :18:24.Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Odell Beckham Jr number one. And he has
:18:25. > :18:30.that same last name. I know how much you love what about. They are about
:18:31. > :18:35.to take the field here at Twickenham, and the NFL already is
:18:36. > :18:53.does that with plenty of style so let's meet the New York Giants first
:18:54. > :19:04.up. The crowd is electric. One, two, three, New York Giants. Let's go out
:19:05. > :19:05.there like a bunch of crazed dogs. Don't let anybody tell you you
:19:06. > :19:32.couldn't do it. Believe, believe, the leave. All
:19:33. > :19:40.out, all baby. The Giants have finished off the Patriots. Touchdown
:19:41. > :19:55.Giants. Please welcome, the 2016 New York
:19:56. > :20:16.Giants. STUDIO: That must be giving you
:20:17. > :20:21.goose bumps. Seeing the new players, the tradition, the Giants have a
:20:22. > :20:26.rich traditions of this is awesome. Officially the Rams of home team,
:20:27. > :20:36.and they have come away from LA to entertain us. Our mission. We don't
:20:37. > :21:04.like them, they'd like us. Over the top. That is the first

:22:12. > :22:17.miles, this season, that is a lot. That wears you out, that is hard as
:22:18. > :22:21.a player. The Rams arrived on Monday, the Giants on Friday.
:22:22. > :22:25.Different from Wembley when both teams decided to come May. Teams
:22:26. > :22:32.vary on how they approach this. What do you prefer? I would not want to
:22:33. > :22:37.come too early, but not on Friday either. You need enough time to
:22:38. > :22:42.adjust. And you want to experience London, have some fun. I think
:22:43. > :22:46.Wednesday would be perfect. I've already experienced London so I
:22:47. > :22:49.would prefer the short week. I was convinced the short on works better
:22:50. > :22:54.and results seem to show that but now they kick off earlier, not 6pm,
:22:55. > :22:59.so I'm not sure that the team that travels short is yet adjusted to the
:23:00. > :23:05.time. Particularly a West Coast team. They have been here all week.
:23:06. > :23:09.For the it works well. Tavon Austin we did not mention earlier so let's
:23:10. > :23:15.take a look. Another with the big contract this summer, 26 catches,
:23:16. > :23:20.242 yards, pretty versatile. And he is a big play Guy, the Rams depend
:23:21. > :23:31.on that. They try to keep you tight. Returning up punt. Nearly as much
:23:32. > :23:36.yardage from scrimmage as a receiver last year. Three or four times a
:23:37. > :23:42.game on set plays simply because they want the ball in his hand. How
:23:43. > :23:48.do they get the best out of him, do they know? Get him the ball quick,
:23:49. > :23:53.here is that kind of play, get him in space. LA with the team for the
:23:54. > :23:59.first time in 20 years, they needed a team in LA. No question: huge
:24:00. > :24:05.market. New York and LA playing in London, free of the biggest cities
:24:06. > :24:10.in the world, Los Angeles here, they need that. There were not high hopes
:24:11. > :24:14.that they have shown promise and they need to keep it going. Big
:24:15. > :24:24.surprise in a very tough division, the Seattle playing this weekend. In
:24:25. > :24:30.the early 50s the LA Rams were the most exciting team NFL, then they
:24:31. > :24:33.were the biggest defensive team of the 50s with Olsen, Jones, the
:24:34. > :24:41.fearsome foursome. Then they became offensive again with Lewis. Did they
:24:42. > :24:47.sell any tickets then? We couldn't afford any. You can keep in touch

:28:28. > :28:30.better, your aggression quarterback knew no bounds. You would love to be
:28:31. > :28:35.routed question no, I am much too old. It is great to be hit,
:28:36. > :28:40.absolutely. It will be an exciting game. I wish I could tell you who
:28:41. > :28:45.will win but I don't know because they are evenly matched., OK, off
:28:46. > :28:50.you go! Let's talk about the quarterbacks, your position. For

:29:03. > :29:08.exciting player in the game right now. That combination should give
:29:09. > :29:17.the Giants the edge. Are we going to see Beckham turn up? I hope so. What
:29:18. > :29:22.he does is so unusual. So dangerous after he catches the ball and tried
:29:23. > :29:28.to run for the touchdown. That is what I am anxious to watch and that
:29:29. > :29:33.is what I have been eager to see him fight. You had better put two men on

:30:27. > :30:30.them down, it is a problem. I have a sneaky suspicion that today is the
:30:31. > :30:34.day they will get it done. Do you buy into that? Will it be the break

:30:46. > :30:51.Olivier was the second option and he was yood to somebody else getting

:39:07. > :39:10.Gurley with the snap. A good job with the exchange to Austin. Good
:39:11. > :39:17.block on the outside by Kendricks there. Looked like Austin was down
:39:18. > :39:22.before that ball came lose. Now the 14-yard line. It is a 1st
:39:23. > :39:26.down. Austin is all over the place, isn't
:39:27. > :39:30.he? They can put him in a lot of different positions. He's so quick

:40:22. > :40:29.It was almost pipped off. Almost grabbed on the play by Jason
:40:30. > :40:36.Pierre-Paul. He rarely leaves the field. A 3-down player. 3rd 6 for
:40:37. > :40:41.the Rams. Still looking to get a pass rush out of their front four.
:40:42. > :40:49.This is a real good blitz that time. The ball, knocked it in the air.
:40:50. > :40:56.He almost had a free one. The Rams have this great field position. 3rd

:41:08. > :41:15.Team on Austin. He beats Andrew Adams.
:41:16. > :41:21.And the Rams cash in on the turnover by the Giants on a 10-yard

:41:30. > :41:33.great adjustment to the ball before Andrew Adams can get there to knock

:41:40. > :41:42.Austin has signed a contract extension this past training camp.
:41:43. > :41:48.Comes down with his second touchdown this season. The Rams offense, 31

:42:08. > :42:26.11-15 to play in the first. Gaines picks out up. Reception with Austin
:42:27. > :42:30.in the end zone. The New York Giants like to huddle off to put the
:42:31. > :42:34.defense in the back foot. They is great in theory A terrible start for
:42:35. > :42:39.them. Turnover, turnovers. You cannot turn the football over. This
:42:40. > :42:44.is what used to drive the coach insane. And they have been doing it
:42:45. > :42:49.for the past 16 games. You cannot have it. And you can see why they
:42:50. > :42:54.reviewed it because right there, he's down. There is a little bit of
:42:55. > :43:01.a touch to make sure he's down. When you get this, your man JPP had his
:43:02. > :43:06.shot at six. He should have caught it. Didn't know the ball would come
:43:07. > :43:09.like that. The line backers, on the quarterback, should have been a
:43:10. > :43:14.turnover from the New York Giants. A well executed play for the
:43:15. > :43:20.touchdown. You attack the touchdown safety. Number three, slide and
:43:21. > :43:25.defend this route. Look underneath. See the tight end coming under. The
:43:26. > :43:31.linebacker had, he has to step up and for that little window Austin is

:43:51. > :43:57.defense can keep them in games and the defense is special, the team can
:43:58. > :44:02.produce points for him. The Broncos laid out the blueprint for that.
:44:03. > :44:07.When you have somebody like Gurley you can control the game. You want
:44:08. > :44:13.to play great defense. I don't care what he says, there's no way he
:44:14. > :44:20.wants his offense... No way! It is the principal it is going up. He
:44:21. > :44:24.played for the Chicago Bears. You think back to the 86 Bears. That was
:44:25. > :44:33.their formula too. Coaches come up with a formula. They stick to what
:44:34. > :44:35.they know. A great start for the LA Rams. See how the Giants can
:44:36. > :44:45.counter. To Harris and in the end zone after
:44:46. > :45:29.the 25-yard line and a touchback for the Giants. 1st down 10.
:45:30. > :45:39.Caught by the Rookie, Sterling Shepard. Out of Oklahoma. Brought
:45:40. > :45:44.down by TJ McDonald of the Rams secondary. Really unusual for a
:45:45. > :45:49.rookie to be so effective out of the slot. He played in that position at
:45:50. > :45:55.University of Oklahoma a lot. The Giants like Hezbollah to define the
:45:56. > :45:57.space over the middle. -- the Giants like his ability to find the space
:45:58. > :46:12.over the middle. Rashad Jennings up the middle, into
:46:13. > :46:19.the grasp of Ethan Westbrooks. The Giants like to use the running back

:47:08. > :47:23.dropped it. Up the middle, picked up by Weston
:47:24. > :47:28.Richburg. Short, looking for Shepard and Will Tye was there as well. Troy
:47:29. > :47:35.Hill with the coverage for the Rams. Here comes the punt. Good bits that
:47:36. > :47:48.time right up the middle, forcing Manning to throw off his back foot.
:47:49. > :47:56.That ball came out short. Tavon Austin is deep for the Rams. Low
:47:57. > :48:06.snap. Austin lets it bounds into the end zone. Touchback. 20-yard line. A
:48:07. > :48:15.player knocked down across the way, and players converging on him, now
:48:16. > :48:20.they are separated. 61 yard punt. Nicole, we just saw you perform your
:48:21. > :48:24.national anthem, what was that like? My gosh, I honestly could not be
:48:25. > :48:32.more proud. This is my adopted home and to be here it is like, it is
:48:33. > :48:36.crazy. I feel like I have been transported back to America, it
:48:37. > :48:46.makes me miss my families so much. As soon as I walked in I got pork

:49:37. > :49:38.football. My family's favourite teams are Dallas Cowboys and
:49:39. > :49:45.Minnesota Vikings. We are hoping that Teddy Bridgewater gets well, he
:49:46. > :49:49.is actually from Louisville. So I said it sort of right, I am going
:49:50. > :49:53.for that. You said you are an expert, we will get you up on

:53:11. > :53:23.enough to pick it up. Gurley, Cunningham. Taken down by
:53:24. > :53:30.Vernon, who was tremendous last week in the first-half. A lot of players
:53:31. > :53:34.slipping in the warm up and that is exactly what happens there to
:53:35. > :53:38.Cunningham. This is a very unusual field, it looks like it is all grass
:53:39. > :53:45.but there is an artificial surface woven into the grass. It is a big

:04:59. > :05:04.have got to get the ball to OBJ and try something. They are not having

:05:18. > :05:23.nursing something. We were talking before about the way they are
:05:24. > :05:27.running. It has all been traps and draws and designed to take advantage
:05:28. > :05:32.of St Louis's movement up front. And at some point they need to play
:05:33. > :05:35.straight ahead and see what they do and try and get them on the back

:06:08. > :06:11.safety is waiting to see what happens before he comes off. And
:06:12. > :06:16.then Austin makes the catch in the end zone. When we were talking about
:06:17. > :06:20.that, the comparison between Beckham and Austin, you make the point that
:06:21. > :06:25.Austin is an out and out receiver. You said he's versatile and can play
:06:26. > :06:29.in a lot of positions. He is because of his size, you put him on the

:06:37. > :06:40.and get him in space. Wide receivers, it is the kind of players
:06:41. > :06:45.they would run for Tavon Austin. And the Giants don't have a Tavon Austin
:06:46. > :06:50.really. You are right. They don't. So it is the defense that came to
:06:51. > :06:55.the party and got them on the board. I am sure this put a big smile on
:06:56. > :07:00.your face. This is incredible. The ball will bounce up for Austin. He
:07:01. > :07:04.will catch it. Look at the runs this guy is making! Going from one side

:07:18. > :07:20.Jason... Tips and overthrows. That is how you get interceptions. That
:07:21. > :07:25.is what happened. And the agility when you look at a defensive player,
:07:26. > :07:29.he's like a running man. We don't get the ball in our hands too much,
:07:30. > :07:35.so when we do, we have to show our skills. This is what he's doing. I
:07:36. > :07:37.take back what I said, I think Austin should have caught it. It is
:07:38. > :07:41.on him. Have you noticed the amount of
:07:42. > :07:46.pressure the Giants are bringing, whether it is bringing a safety,
:07:47. > :07:54.whether it is them, they are playing very well. They are really
:07:55. > :07:59.surprised. #8 Keep keep has had three
:08:00. > :08:07.interceptions. No other quarterback has had more than one. So that
:08:08. > :08:10.pressure really getting to the Rams. Look at the quarterback stats and
:08:11. > :08:13.you can see them on the screen right now. Not a prolific half runner from
:08:14. > :08:24.either player. 21 passes from 107 yards. That is
:08:25. > :08:28.the key. They are not throwing anything that's very long. They want
:08:29. > :08:34.to get the running game going. That is easier said than done. How do the
:08:35. > :08:38.Giants do that in the second half? They have to get created. Get some

:09:55. > :09:59.football is twice as physical as rugby. How do you feel about that? I
:10:00. > :10:05.can see the argument it is twice as physical. I think the impacts are
:10:06. > :10:10.hands above what we get in rugby. We get more of a repetitive load,

:12:02. > :12:04.You got to 20 pretty easy. And dropped all of a sudden. Coming to
:12:05. > :12:15.the game at Twickenham? Definitely. As we are in Twickenham let's get
:12:16. > :12:22.Anthony Watson now. How are you? All good. How long have you followed the
:12:23. > :12:26.NFL? Two or three years now. Mostly in the last year, you know, I have

:13:53. > :13:58.will see more and more players trying to make that leap. It is not
:13:59. > :14:03.like sock ker where you have to at a young age. In the NFL, you are a

:04:59. > :05:01.us. And I think they are. They all come back saying I would like to go
:05:02. > :05:07.back again. That is a good problem to have, which we did not anticipate
:05:08. > :05:12.ten years ago, frankly. We talked off air about the fanbase in the UK.

:05:47. > :05:51.times before. We are looking to develop stadium alternatives in
:05:52. > :05:56.London. We want to create a position of strength here, a foundation and
:05:57. > :06:00.we can build from there. For us, it is about really being successful
:06:01. > :06:06.here in London. And then we will continue to build the fanbase beyond

:20:11. > :20:14.you stand on that, seeing jerseys from the different teams at one
:20:15. > :20:18.match? I like it because you would never see that at the states. Going
:20:19. > :20:27.out there and seeing everything represented it is really cool as a
:20:28. > :20:31.player. Software it seemed like a Super Bowl atmosphere. A lot of
:20:32. > :20:34.Giants and Rams fans that some of these people are just football fans
:20:35. > :20:40.and they want to see an American football game being played. When I
:20:41. > :20:43.was a kid and I can remember watching my first NFL championship
:20:44. > :20:46.game on TV, with my grandfather and uncle and if they had wearing a
:20:47. > :20:51.players jersey they would have wondered what planet therefrom, and
:20:52. > :20:54.I still have this belief you are not allowed to wear the jersey with a
:20:55. > :21:05.player younger than you are. Fair point. I could just about have JPP.
:21:06. > :21:11.When did that start changing? 25 years ago. Sometime in the 80s. I
:21:12. > :21:17.can remember doing that match before the Giants came in 2007 when you
:21:18. > :21:23.were both playing and there was somebody with a carpenter jersey
:21:24. > :21:28.sitting in front of our position and I said that was old school. He was
:21:29. > :21:35.only ten years out of the league. Great one from Stewart, do you think
:21:36. > :21:41.Eli has another Super Bowl in him? He has at least five or six more
:21:42. > :21:49.years of quality footballer. One of those five years he will have a
:21:50. > :21:58.chance. Lets see if London will be as lucky for him this year as it was
:21:59. > :22:04.in 2007. COMMENTATOR: Case Keenum, first and ten.
:22:05. > :22:18.Underneath the goes. And it is to the 36. Grout by the tight end,
:22:19. > :22:28.Kendricks, tackled by Casillas. 11 yards.
:22:29. > :22:43.Case Keenum, first and ten. Incomplete. We haven't talked about
:22:44. > :22:49.him much tonight, Romeo Okwara. Keenum running out of the pocket,
:22:50. > :22:54.speed really surprised them. I think he thought he had more time than he
:22:55. > :23:01.had. The pressure on him to get rid of that ball. They have not scored
:23:02. > :23:10.their last ten consecutive possessions.
:23:11. > :23:21.The Giants in the nickel, purely an outside. Keenan Robinson trying to
:23:22. > :23:30.real women. The completion takes them to the 41. That is a heck of a
:23:31. > :23:38.catch, Robinson around his ankles. It bobbled four times.
:23:39. > :23:44.Out of reach of brine quick with Rodgers-Cromartie watching. They
:23:45. > :23:49.will have to go for it on 4th down with just two time-outs. Another
:23:50. > :23:54.poor throw by Keenum. I'm not sure with a catch that would have been
:23:55. > :23:55.good enough for 1st down. Momentum would have carried him out of
:23:56. > :24:06.bounds. You have to look for Tavon Austin.
:24:07. > :24:14.He has been their most productive receiver. In the nickel, secondary,
:24:15. > :24:22.and it looked like Rob Havenstein jump. ., offense number 79, 5-yard
:24:23. > :24:31.penalty. You can tell the Giants fans are making some noise. Rob
:24:32. > :24:35.Havenstein way offsides. Staring right at Jason Pierre-Paul of
:24:36. > :24:40.course. And Olivier Vernon, he has had a tough time dealing with them.
:24:41. > :24:45.They are going back and forth and man, that is a terrific pair that
:24:46. > :24:52.Spagnuolo can handle. His secondary has picked off three and all have
:24:53. > :24:56.been important today. The Giants do have three sacks today. They only
:24:57. > :25:21.have six in the previous six games. STUDIO: This is the second
:25:22. > :25:28.international series game this season, the third one at Wenbo
:25:29. > :25:31.Stadium next weekend. On air PM, the clocks go back remember. Redskins
:25:32. > :25:57.against Bengals. Initially the lead for the Rams, by
:25:58. > :26:04.ten points. Two minutes left. Coming in, bad snap by the center. Caught.
:26:05. > :26:19.Quick staggering for the 1st down. STUDIO: Lots of you getting in
:26:20. > :26:25.touch, lots of you suggesting it might be time to give Zhirkov try.
:26:26. > :26:35.The Rams rookie quarterback. Number one overall pick in the college
:26:36. > :26:38.draft. As we said at the top of the show, many people thought he would
:26:39. > :26:44.be NFL ready. We haven't seen him yet. This would been a hell of a
:26:45. > :26:48.game to throw him into. Pramac it is too you have to go with the guy who
:26:49. > :26:53.has been running the offense but if you start playing well they might
:26:54. > :26:59.change. If he does not turn this around we could see him sooner
:27:00. > :27:03.rather than later. You do not want to put a rookie who hasn't played
:27:04. > :27:07.all season into a game necessarily. The Giants coming at you the way
:27:08. > :27:11.they are. That is a bad situation to go into it. And a real test for a
:27:12. > :27:19.quarterback who hasn't played a single down. Case Keenum has
:27:20. > :27:22.struggled today. How long will it be before they bring Jarrod Coffin. Or
:27:23. > :27:26.do they just want to leave him on the bench learning. Quite frankly he
:27:27. > :27:33.has played well this season. Jarrod Goff I think what the Rams like to
:27:34. > :27:41.do is they like Lester said. They let Aaron Donald said. I think he
:27:42. > :27:53.will be a much better quote reference. You get someone in there
:27:54. > :27:57.and if you draft him how he has to play. Not everybody has a good
:27:58. > :28:04.situation. You see more of it now the bonuses and contracts are more
:28:05. > :28:12.control. For the rookies. If you pay him 50 million -- $15 million a year
:28:13. > :28:15.you have to put him in sooner or later. Like with Stafford. Having
:28:16. > :28:21.said that new territory for LA, Newmarket. It is an interesting
:28:22. > :28:29.thing if you believe in the showbiz because this is not a showbiz team.
:28:30. > :28:51.Not at the moment! COMMENTATOR: The Giants have had bead on him. Losing
:28:52. > :28:58.his balance. Coming in. Fearful. On the money to Quick. We talked about
:28:59. > :29:02.a couple of poor throws Keenum has had in the second half. Last two
:29:03. > :29:15.throws under pressure but absolutely spectacular.
:29:16. > :29:17.In front of Adams, behind the corner, great thread. Back-to-back
:29:18. > :29:39.for Case Keenum. Moves up well. Incomplete for Brit.
:29:40. > :29:45.I think he had this ball in his hands. Andrew Adams covering in the
:29:46. > :29:49.secondary along with Rodgers-Cromartie. Rodgers-Cromartie
:29:50. > :29:50.will come here, he times it perfectly and knocks it out of his
:29:51. > :30:04.hands. And the top of the screen he checks
:30:05. > :30:15.in, the rookies six round pick. 2nd in, the rookies six round pick. 2nd
:30:16. > :30:22.10, Kendricks the tight end brought down by Leon Hall. Good
:30:23. > :30:27.pressure again this time, Olivier Vernon. Forcing Keenum to throw that
:30:28. > :30:41.one quickly. Cunningham, back to the 1st. Brought
:30:42. > :31:00.down. One time out Rams.
:31:01. > :31:08.1st 10 and incomplete. Looking for receiver Bradley Marquez. Coverage
:31:09. > :31:10.on the playle. I don't think Marquez was expecting
:31:11. > :31:19.this pass. Appears to be winded.
:31:20. > :31:38.You can see the contact down the field that the Giants get away with.
:31:39. > :31:51.Britt still on the sidelines after that long pass a couple of plays
:31:52. > :31:56.ago. So, we're seeing Michael Thomas, who was without a catch this
:31:57. > :31:59.season and Bradley Marquez, who has only two, and they were the targets
:32:00. > :32:17.on the last two pass plays. Britt is in, with Austin, Marquez,
:32:18. > :32:23.the tight end and Quick. Time out, New York.
:32:24. > :32:56.First charge time out New York. Obviously winded the defensive line
:32:57. > :33:01.and the second. We saw clem troubles. Rams have struggled in the
:33:02. > :33:08.red zone this year. That is where they find themselves now, with the
:33:09. > :33:15.3rd 106789 one time out. 50 seconds in the fourth.
:33:16. > :33:32.Britt to the top of your screen, Quick to the bottom.
:33:33. > :33:42.It's clem Interception. That may have slammed the door. Keenum has
:33:43. > :33:51.thrown his fourth hit today. Total communication. You saw a signal
:33:52. > :34:04.given to Quick. The ball is thrown to the one-on-one coverage. Quick
:34:05. > :34:09.decides not to run the fly Pat it is he could have called for a quick
:34:10. > :34:17.catch on this ball. And again the Rams struggling in the red zone that
:34:18. > :34:30.time. And the defense with terrific plays
:34:31. > :34:38.from the secondary and the Rams will let the clock tick and not call a
:34:39. > :34:46.time out. We have one left. The last three possessions for the Rams.
:34:47. > :34:55.Three New York Giants interceptions. For a team which had two. How about
:34:56. > :34:59.the Rams? They have lost three straight after winning three
:35:00. > :35:09.straight. And the Giants have won their second
:35:10. > :35:10.consecutive. We can go to 4 3 with the defense playing huge dividends
:35:11. > :35:19.today. That is what we love about the NFL,
:35:20. > :35:23.a game can go a lot of different ways, but somehow it can end up
:35:24. > :35:31.being incredibly close at the end. It was a fantastic finish. Almost
:35:32. > :35:35.feel sorry for Keenum with the throw. He did a couple of things
:35:36. > :35:41.well to get them into that position. Looked like a lack of communication.
:35:42. > :35:45.Saw serve row coverage and the blitz on the same -- zero coverage and the
:35:46. > :35:51.blitz on the same page. He has not lived up to the hype. He only has
:35:52. > :35:55.one route, which is vertical. The intermediate routes he does not seem
:35:56. > :36:00.tight on. A tough day at the office for Case Keenum. Let's look at the
:36:01. > :36:05.stats. Keenum ending the game with that pick.
:36:06. > :36:10.Four turnovers for the Rams. That is the tail of the game. 17-10, the
:36:11. > :36:18.final. Passing odds nothing much having for Eli Manning and the
:36:19. > :36:23.Giants. 233 total yards, yet the turnovers were instrumental. Why the
:36:24. > :36:25.Giants ended up winning that. It started with a turnover on the
:36:26. > :36:34.Giants' side. We have looked at this one before.
:36:35. > :36:39.You see Tavon Austin coming across. When the tight end comes underneath
:36:40. > :36:43.him, the linebacker is up. It was the interception.
:36:44. > :36:47.Definitely. Definitely the interception made. You know you
:36:48. > :36:52.cannot turn the ball over and you cannot turn it over in a red zone.
:36:53. > :36:57.That is what was crucial. A horrendous start for the New York
:36:58. > :37:01.Giants. Great start for the Rams, early doors, given their offense has
:37:02. > :37:06.been spluttering allot. Against the Lions they started to get things in
:37:07. > :37:10.the group. We thought we would see more of the same, but it was not to
:37:11. > :37:14.be. And you look at the Giants prior to this game, 14 points from
:37:15. > :37:25.turnovers n this one ten points from turnovers in their previous six
:37:26. > :37:34.games. You know The coach, you saw what happened today. Came out here
:37:35. > :37:39.to London, got their mo Joe back. They claim back the defense the way
:37:40. > :37:46.they are supposed to be. And you played under Spags for a long time.
:37:47. > :37:54.It is difficult to go back and recreate your form of glory. Tried
:37:55. > :38:00.to recreate that by bringing in Snacks. They played the way they
:38:01. > :38:02.were supposed to be. Collins was a significant player. What a great day
:38:03. > :38:12.for him. They were playing him a lot deep.
:38:13. > :38:16.And only giving him half the field. And there came the ball. They did
:38:17. > :38:22.not attack him much one on one. When the ball is in the air he came to
:38:23. > :38:26.it. Put your guy to a position where he can play plays. He's looking like
:38:27. > :38:30.Sir Collins today. That one, that di agram of the
:38:31. > :38:36.dotted lines look the one they gave me when they told me how to get to
:38:37. > :38:41.Twickenham from the station. A significant pick for him. Two big
:38:42. > :38:47.turnovers for him in particularly one of the strongest performances on
:38:48. > :38:49.this Giants' defense. And I am delighted to say that Collins is
:38:50. > :38:58.pitchside chatting to Caroline now. He's had to run off. Can we go live
:38:59. > :39:02.to Eli Manning. Sorry to interrupt. I know you are having a photo. If
:39:03. > :39:06.you can wait with us. He's having a chat with the coach and then
:39:07. > :39:12.hopefully. This is live TV at its best. Back to you and then I will
:39:13. > :39:20.shout, I'll shout... I like how she has the New York
:39:21. > :39:24.Giants part of her scarf there. A difficult game for him. What do
:39:25. > :39:28.you make of his performance? It has been a difficult day for the offense
:39:29. > :39:32.in General. You have to give credit to the defense, they blanketed those
:39:33. > :39:37.receivers, stuffed the run. Got pressure, not so much as anticipated
:39:38. > :39:43.on Eli. You have to give it to the Rams' defense. It makes everybody
:39:44. > :39:48.look good and the Giants could not run the ball. The only good run was
:39:49. > :39:51.for the touchdown when they did... So they took short stuff the whole
:39:52. > :39:57.game. They did not turn it over. That is the important thing.
:39:58. > :40:04.Let's look at the touchdown. This was the pick. The turnover that set
:40:05. > :40:10.it up and as we said, the New York Giants, a big day for Collins and it
:40:11. > :40:14.was Rashad Jennings running it in. We saw the with the stats, the
:40:15. > :40:18.yardage, at no point could they get the running game going. In the red
:40:19. > :40:23.zone he punches it in and it is crucial. It is hard to score because
:40:24. > :40:27.you have limited space. When you can run the ball successfully in
:40:28. > :40:32.there... You saw how spread out they were in the line. St Louis is
:40:33. > :40:35.thinking there's no way they will run the ball on us in this
:40:36. > :40:41.situation. It was the best thing they could do. You saw the lift they
:40:42. > :40:47.had there. You guys jumped up. I think all line play is like that.
:40:48. > :40:48.Defensive line. For an offensive line when you push that line off,
:40:49. > :41:03.that is what you want. I don't know what to say. Everybody
:41:04. > :41:07.is exhausted. How exhausted were you on the pick six that changed this
:41:08. > :41:16.game even in the first half? Exhausted. Got heavy. I had to get
:41:17. > :41:19.back on the field and do my thing. How many yards do you think you
:41:20. > :41:23.covered sideline to sideline when you picked the ball? I went from
:41:24. > :41:30.this way back to over there. Got to be about 100 yards. Do you want to
:41:31. > :41:41.know how many? 84. Take us through the play.
:41:42. > :41:48.I think it was, I got two men, two deep and using my eyes, missed the
:41:49. > :41:52.ball and then when I caught the ball, looked down field. When I
:41:53. > :41:55.looked down field I saw a lot of dark blue. All my white was to the
:41:56. > :42:00.left. So I went back to the left and ran down from there. You guys came
:42:01. > :42:04.into this league, last with take aways, you come away with four
:42:05. > :42:08.picks. Where is this defense? How good can it be? It can be great.
:42:09. > :42:13.That is our expectations. We try and get to the top ten. That is what
:42:14. > :42:19.we're looking for. Get some rest, my friend. Will do. He will cherish
:42:20. > :42:22.that touchdown. It is winning and winning with your defense. That is
:42:23. > :42:28.the key. I love the way he analysed that. That play he analysed
:42:29. > :42:33.brilliantly. A big day for him. And this guy has been the best play on
:42:34. > :42:39.their defense all season. Outside of Rashad Jennings, played well today.
:42:40. > :42:42.Came up big for the Giants. The Giants in a decent position. Decent
:42:43. > :42:47.position and they have got momentum winning here. We have a feast of NFL
:42:48. > :42:52.action coming up in the next seven days.
:42:53. > :42:59.It is here on Tuesday with all the action of this week's game.
:43:00. > :43:05.Friday is the NFL Show. The weekend games will be previewed. And then
:43:06. > :43:19.Washington verses Cincinnati. Many thanks indeed to Jason OC and
:43:20. > :43:25.Mike. Congratulations to the New York Giants A big win for them. Tune
:43:26. > :43:26.in next week for the Redskins and the Bengals live at Wembley Stadium.
:43:27. > :43:35.Goodbye for now. See you then.
