:00:08. > :00:13.COMMENTATOR: It will be time for these two teams to settle into the

:00:14. > :00:36.limelight. One-man wrecking crew. How did he do

:00:37. > :00:41.that? An unstoppable. STUDIO: Hello and welcome to NFL this week.

:00:42. > :00:44.Despite having a combined 18 years NFL experience and a few Super Bowl

:00:45. > :00:48.rings, both Osi Umenyiora and Jason are none the wiser as to who will

:00:49. > :00:52.make the playoffs. You could argue that views around here been

:00:53. > :00:59.questionable at times but I will cut you some slack. The NFL season has

:01:00. > :01:03.been a wild one so far. Week 13 of 17, the battle for the playoffs is

:01:04. > :01:07.well and truly up and running. Joining me after the jaunt to

:01:08. > :01:14.Minnesota, the knowledgeable ones, Osi Umenyiora and Jason Bell. Do you

:01:15. > :01:19.like that? I like that. Kansas City Chiefs have divided opinion, last

:01:20. > :01:23.week, we lavished praise on their victory over the Denver Broncos but

:01:24. > :01:26.the big games are coming thick and fast for Kansas City. They had a

:01:27. > :01:33.week 13 trip to Atlanta, leaders of the NFC South. Matt Ryan leading a

:01:34. > :01:39.red-hot Atlanta offense that is leading the NFL. The Atlanta

:01:40. > :01:45.Falcons, top of the NFC South, playing at home and with one of the

:01:46. > :01:53.most potent offenses in the NFL. But beware. How about those Chiefs? In

:01:54. > :01:59.the AFC West, there are teams that travel well. Among them, the Kansas

:02:00. > :02:01.City Chiefs. Comfortable on the road and most adept at taking the ball

:02:02. > :02:24.off their opponents. COMMENTATOR: 1st goal. Freeman,

:02:25. > :02:33.the deep back. Freeman, touchdown. 1st goal.

:02:34. > :02:39.To the five, end zone, touchdown. The first touchdown on an opening

:02:40. > :02:45.drive this season for the Kansas City Chiefs. STUDIO: On the next

:02:46. > :02:53.possession, Matt Bryant kicked field goal to extend Atlanta's lead to

:02:54. > :02:56.four points. COMMENTATOR: Kendrick West comes into the backfield for

:02:57. > :03:02.the first time for Kansas City today. Smith escapes the pressure, a

:03:03. > :03:11.penalty marker is thrown. The ball is loose. The pile-up is at the

:03:12. > :03:16.44-yard line, Atlanta think they have it, Vic Beasley at administered

:03:17. > :03:21.the hit to Alex Smith. Atlanta football, let's check the penalty.

:03:22. > :03:28.Gray holding, that penalty is declined. 1st down. Smith was

:03:29. > :03:33.fortunate to get away from the pass rush the first time, able to escape

:03:34. > :03:40.and lucky he is not hurt as Beasley tackles from behind. Judy macro Matt

:03:41. > :03:47.Bryant kicked his second field goal giving Atlanta a 7-point lead in the

:03:48. > :03:51.third quarter. COMMENTATOR: Kansas City will go with three type tends

:03:52. > :03:57.again, Spencer where in the backfield. They need a yard for a

:03:58. > :04:04.1st down. It is complete, touchdown. His second of the game. Matt Ryan,

:04:05. > :04:09.we will see what he can do with 48 seconds on the clock and two

:04:10. > :04:15.time-outs. He has Freeman in the backfield. Ryan, throwing,

:04:16. > :04:25.intercepted in the middle of the field by Eric Berry. 20, ten, five,

:04:26. > :04:29.touchdown Kansas City. That is how Kansas City has played the entire

:04:30. > :04:34.season, very opportunistic defense, leading the league in takeaway is.

:04:35. > :04:38.They baited Matt Ryan into thinking there was an opening. They played a

:04:39. > :04:43.robber in the middle of the field with no assignment. Their sixth

:04:44. > :04:50.return touchdown this season. Eric Berry takes the football right over

:04:51. > :04:55.to his mum. Special moment, he is from Georgia, playing in front of

:04:56. > :04:58.family and friends. STUDIO: Atlanta soon bounced back with another field

:04:59. > :05:09.goal, cutting the lead to macro four points. COMMENTATOR: The fake, right

:05:10. > :05:18.up the middle, Wilson, to the ten, five, touchdown. What a gutsy call

:05:19. > :05:23.by Andy Reid and the special teams coordinator. They lined up to go for

:05:24. > :05:28.it on 4th down in the own territory to start the second half. Wilson

:05:29. > :05:33.takes it right up the middle, he was the protector, a direct snap to him.

:05:34. > :05:40.55 yards. Gutsy call to start the second half. Freeman in the

:05:41. > :05:41.backfield on 1st goal, Freeman with the football, end zone,

:05:42. > :05:58.touchdown. Bird and to, Smith pulls it down and

:05:59. > :06:06.throws down the sideline and he was wide open but he missed him. Spencer

:06:07. > :06:12.where had nothing but green in front of him and he missed him. Just under

:06:13. > :06:17.seven minutes to play in the fourth. 113 receiving yards, everyone else

:06:18. > :06:27.for Atlanta, 88. He is back on the field on 3rd 1. Ryan fakes the

:06:28. > :06:30.pitch in a wide-open over the middle, inside the 20 and a 1st

:06:31. > :06:40.down. 2nd goal. Ryan over the middle, wide-open,

:06:41. > :06:58.touchdown, Robinson. That looked like a miss in the

:06:59. > :07:01.Kansas City secondary. Eric Berry was not happy, a miscommunication

:07:02. > :07:05.with the coverage, he was the safety over the top. He thought he had

:07:06. > :07:09.inside help, Marcus Peters was underneath on the slot coverage and

:07:10. > :07:14.he thought Peters would come back into the middle zone and Eric Berry

:07:15. > :07:20.had no help inside. They will go for two, searching for the 3-point lead.

:07:21. > :07:25.Ryan, throwing, intercepted, picked off and it is very, Eric Berry going

:07:26. > :07:38.the other way and nobody is going to catch him. Two on the board for the

:07:39. > :07:43.Kansas City Chiefs. What a change for the Atlanta Falcons, they take

:07:44. > :07:48.the lead and decide to go for two to make it a 3-point game, Eric Berry

:07:49. > :07:52.with a 37 yard interception for a touchdown earlier now brings this

:07:53. > :07:59.back for two. And the Chiefs, instead of being down, lead by one.

:08:00. > :08:07.What they game between those guys. The Chiefs have won six consecutive

:08:08. > :08:10.December games. STUDIO: Not only was it a great game but it provided one

:08:11. > :08:15.of the stories of the season, a sport story of the season. That

:08:16. > :08:20.regards Eric Berry. He was back in Atlanta, his hometown for the first

:08:21. > :08:25.time since he had chemotherapy treatment for cancer. This is what

:08:26. > :08:29.he said after the game. I shed a few tears before the game and I shed a

:08:30. > :08:35.few during the game and after. I think I held it together pretty good

:08:36. > :08:40.but there are a lot of emotions, I tried to contain them. The last time

:08:41. > :08:45.I came home during the season was to get chemotherapy. This time it was

:08:46. > :08:51.to play the game so I was thankful for the opportunity. I take pride in

:08:52. > :08:54.a lot of things that people take for granted, when opportunities way, I

:08:55. > :08:58.cherish them and try to make the most of them. I made my mind up

:08:59. > :09:05.before the game that I would get the ball and I did. It won't matter to

:09:06. > :09:09.the things she has given me, and my dad as well. So many nights I was

:09:10. > :09:12.crying on their shoulder and trying to make sense of everything going

:09:13. > :09:16.on. They kept telling me to keep pressing and that I would be back.

:09:17. > :09:23.That I would be able to play the game I wanted to. For it to happen,

:09:24. > :09:25.both of them supported me through the process, I can't thank them

:09:26. > :09:34.enough. I can't do anything to show my thanks so I keep pushing and keep

:09:35. > :09:39.trying. If you are an ardent Atlanta fan, even your heart will melt at

:09:40. > :09:42.that. For him to overcome that, I have been through that with my

:09:43. > :09:46.sister though I know what it is like for someone to have that kind of

:09:47. > :09:52.treatment. The fact he was able to train and get ready for the next

:09:53. > :09:57.season was amazing. And in the town he was from. I don't know what to

:09:58. > :10:01.say about that. That is extremely emotional. To see a guy perform at

:10:02. > :10:08.that level after what he has been through is inspirational. If we go

:10:09. > :10:12.back to week ten when they played Carolina, he did something similar.

:10:13. > :10:20.Therefore we get onto this game where they beat Atlanta but he has

:10:21. > :10:23.history as they say. What is amazing about, a great center fielder,

:10:24. > :10:28.anything in the center of the field, he has got. It is his ability to

:10:29. > :10:36.read the quarterback in the defense and play to his strengths. I love

:10:37. > :10:41.that shot from his perspective and the strength required. That is a

:10:42. > :10:45.great pick. That is a great pick. That is what makes him dynamic, when

:10:46. > :10:49.he gets the ball in his hand, he can score. That makes such a threat.

:10:50. > :10:58.You're going to take me through what is so good about him in this. He is

:10:59. > :11:04.there and the intended target of the pass is there, slightly covered.

:11:05. > :11:07.What are we looking at from Eric Berry's position? Geller macro from

:11:08. > :11:11.films, he knows they are probably going to work this side in the

:11:12. > :11:17.middle, you have a tight end outside and the receiver coming in. He is

:11:18. > :11:22.almost eliminating threats. He can move over and realise he will work

:11:23. > :11:26.this side of the field. So it is more about space than a specific

:11:27. > :11:29.man. You have both said that from watching tape, he will know the

:11:30. > :11:38.distance that Mathew Ryan will throw the ball, the exact spot.

:11:39. > :11:45.He made an incredible play. He is standing flat-footed, he knows where

:11:46. > :11:51.it is going. He jumps up before the receiver got his head on it. By

:11:52. > :11:59.flat-footed, he is not going deep. He knows where the route is. Then

:12:00. > :12:04.the pic to the game? I don't know what Atlanta were thinking. I would

:12:05. > :12:09.you throw in the middle? Look at him. He has been doing it all game.

:12:10. > :12:15.You would want to throw it outside but you throw it right into the

:12:16. > :12:20.middle and to the side? Now, we have had, sorry, you have had a debate

:12:21. > :12:25.with us about how exciting Kansas City are, so let's go with the fake

:12:26. > :12:29.punt which is a brave call from Andy Reid and excited as well. Talk me

:12:30. > :12:35.through what I am meant to be looking at, from this formation, is

:12:36. > :12:42.anything different? The only thing different is... Right here. He is

:12:43. > :12:46.kind of sat on the line. They like to sit back a little more and get as

:12:47. > :12:51.much depth as they can't because they have to shuffle back and get a

:12:52. > :12:56.blog but then been on the line is the only tip. His position is

:12:57. > :13:03.completely normal? Yes. He has to pick up the opposite of the center.

:13:04. > :13:11.Now they just down block, he takes the direct snap and that whole is

:13:12. > :13:17.wide open. However, you think, Osi, that from the point of view of

:13:18. > :13:22.Atlanta, they have read it wrong. No question. This is 100% terrible

:13:23. > :13:29.coaching decision. The reason why I say that, this is where things

:13:30. > :13:34.happen, from the 50-yard line, teams like to run there, because at least

:13:35. > :13:40.they are not having the ball on their side of the football field.

:13:41. > :13:45.What they should have done, was they should have put their defensive

:13:46. > :13:50.line, they should had guys like myself, I would have been on the

:13:51. > :13:54.football field. From what you said before, I am in charge of the

:13:55. > :13:57.buttons, you would have been around there. You would have had the

:13:58. > :14:02.defensive tackles right in the middle of the field because you know

:14:03. > :14:10.that is what they want. Presumably, all these people here, their line of

:14:11. > :14:14.vision is blocked. Yes. There are smaller guys like me. They are

:14:15. > :14:18.attempting to block the kick but they are not big enough to stop

:14:19. > :14:23.somebody come and down like that. Look at the jersey numbers, you do

:14:24. > :14:27.not see the big guys like Osi out there, it is little guys like me and

:14:28. > :14:33.we are not equipped for that! Brilliant call by that man. Are we

:14:34. > :14:38.giving Andy Reid credit? That was a great call. Analyse the situation.

:14:39. > :14:47.Atlanta Falcons did not have the right personnel on the field. Let's

:14:48. > :14:56.take a look at our first round-up of week 13. Denver's rookie quarterback

:14:57. > :15:09.started only his second game in an ugly defense of the 2010 -- 20-10

:15:10. > :15:14.win. 53 yards. Denver are eight and four. Another win for Oakland, they

:15:15. > :15:22.were playing catch up for three quarters of the game. Derek Carr led

:15:23. > :15:26.them to 29 unanswered points, earning his tenth fourth-quarter

:15:27. > :15:34.comeback over the past but-macro seasons by hitting it from 37 yards.

:15:35. > :15:39.Magic touch and they now have a ten and two record and we will talk

:15:40. > :15:55.about the Raiders more surely. We will hear more about the Lions as

:15:56. > :16:03.well. The defense held them. Golden Tate scored a late 66 yard touchdown

:16:04. > :16:11.to move the Lions to hate. It was somebody else's files! That was you,

:16:12. > :16:19.sir. Tom Brady passed for 269 yards to Chris Hogan as the Patriots raced

:16:20. > :16:26.to a 17- 0/2-time lead. They eventually beat the LA Rams. He now

:16:27. > :16:31.has 201 career victories, the most by a starting quarterback in NFL

:16:32. > :16:38.history. Let's talk about the Raiders, they are now ten and two,

:16:39. > :16:42.in the third quarter, they were 24-9 down and for all we have praised

:16:43. > :16:48.Raiders and their players, you have to give the fans credit. Down there,

:16:49. > :16:52.they are allowed, they get after the opposing offense and that is always

:16:53. > :16:57.advantageous to the home team. As we talk about the importance of

:16:58. > :17:01.home-field advantage, we have often said it about Seattle and having

:17:02. > :17:06.been in Minnesota and seem a home game -- home game and seeing the

:17:07. > :17:11.influence that the fans can have, that will be important. Very

:17:12. > :17:19.important. People do not give the fans enough credit. It is almost

:17:20. > :17:21.like a feeding frenzy when the fans enter the game. You will have both

:17:22. > :17:25.played against the Raiders in Oakland when they were very good,

:17:26. > :17:30.but that doesn't attract from the vitriol of the fans at times. They

:17:31. > :17:36.call it the black hole down there, it smells like you are having a good

:17:37. > :17:44.time in that stadium. Don't you mean it smells of beer? Yes. They will

:17:45. > :17:49.single you out. It doesn't feel well when you're not playing good. So

:17:50. > :17:58.many rivals in the West have to play each other, Oakland, Kansas --

:17:59. > :18:02.Kansas and Denver. Given how passionate divisional games, nothing

:18:03. > :18:07.is certain. It is very exciting. These teams hate each other. They

:18:08. > :18:13.will be going head to head and nothing has been decided in the AFC

:18:14. > :18:18.West. Let's mention Detroit, how surprised are you that they went to

:18:19. > :18:24.new and won? Defensively, they played a lot better than I thought

:18:25. > :18:30.they would. You knew they would do it, but Stafford was on a roll. It

:18:31. > :18:34.is a hard thing to do, especially in New Orleans. They play excellent

:18:35. > :18:39.football, especially at home and destroyed went there and shut them

:18:40. > :18:47.down. Sitting third, you would think it is season over for Washington but

:18:48. > :18:50.it is not. Their record compares favourably to their rivals and

:18:51. > :18:55.leaves them in one of the wild card spots. This week they head to

:18:56. > :19:02.Arizona. It is a crucial week with Tampa Bay breathing down their

:19:03. > :19:07.necks. Questions, questions. Kirk Cousins, do they really like at the

:19:08. > :19:12.Washington Redskins? He keeps asking and keeps doing his best to force a

:19:13. > :19:17.yes out of his employers. The Arizona Cardinals, are they what

:19:18. > :19:29.they once were? Only in a wild card chasing kind of way, it seems, but

:19:30. > :19:33.to difficult questions, it is never too late to find a different kind of

:19:34. > :19:37.answer. The Cardinals are threatening on the first possession

:19:38. > :19:41.of the game. They need this game and with losses so far by the Eagles and

:19:42. > :19:47.the saints, that can all come play well to them if they can win. They

:19:48. > :19:55.are playing with the dues and energy. You need to be accountable

:19:56. > :20:00.about how you start a football game. 15 play, coming up, the Redskins

:20:01. > :20:07.offense has been on the field a long time and they go to Johnson. He gets

:20:08. > :20:13.hit, into the enzyme, touchdown, Cardinals! It was the David Johnson

:20:14. > :20:19.show. On this opening series and the have taken the lead. In the second

:20:20. > :20:26.quarter, Dustin Hopkins gave Washington their first points of the

:20:27. > :20:30.game. He kicked his second of the quarter from 20 yards on the next

:20:31. > :20:35.Redskins possession and Arizona responded with a 28 yard to extend

:20:36. > :20:47.their lead to four points going into half-time. Five characters. Plenty

:20:48. > :20:56.of time for Kirk Cousins to go deep and he has to Jackson who is tackled

:20:57. > :21:00.at the fire line. Great protection for Kirk Cousins and 59 yard pass,

:21:01. > :21:10.the longest played from scrimmage today. An extra offensive lineman

:21:11. > :21:17.for the Redskins. It is Kirk Cousins Web the quarterback. No signal yet.

:21:18. > :21:21.Touchdown. Cousins got over and the Redskins score their first touchdown

:21:22. > :21:27.of the game and take their first lead. On the following possession,

:21:28. > :21:36.they missed a field goal setting Washington up with good field

:21:37. > :21:38.possession. Vincent Painter has come in. John Sullivan

:21:39. > :21:48.remains at center. The Redskins offensive line is really fill.

:21:49. > :21:56.Cousins loses the ball, it is a fumble and it is picked up by the

:21:57. > :21:59.Cardinals. Golden is tackled. Campbell, came back, forced the

:22:00. > :22:05.fumble and the first turnover of the game and at the Cardinals have an

:22:06. > :22:10.opportunity, a big one here. A three technique, has to win this battle.

:22:11. > :22:16.His pad level is lower. You're winning that battle. His feat never

:22:17. > :22:22.stop on contact and he does not go for the kill shot. Trusting his

:22:23. > :22:27.athletic ability, picking it up and trying to score. The receiver lined

:22:28. > :22:37.up to the left. Palmyra. Has sometime. Touchdown. Michael Floyd!

:22:38. > :22:41.That was a great pass by Carson Palmer. Anything of center would

:22:42. > :22:47.have been intercepted and the Cardinals regain the lead. We go

:22:48. > :22:52.back to 3rd down and ten. Redskins want to do better and the Cardinals

:22:53. > :22:56.want to hold that and there is a pass for the touchdown. Jamison

:22:57. > :23:04.Crowder, quiet for most of this game, finally gets into the action.

:23:05. > :23:08.A pass from Kirk Cousins to Jamison Crowder. Chris Thompson, you are a

:23:09. > :23:15.football player, stepping in there with the big boys. Does getting

:23:16. > :23:19.enough in the way to allow Kirk Cousins and Jamison Crowder on a

:23:20. > :23:24.switch route, putting the pressure on the safety and beating Tony

:23:25. > :23:29.Jefferson. 3rd down and three, Carson Palmer goes to Fitzgerald and

:23:30. > :23:38.he may not have the 1st down, let's see where they spot the ball. He got

:23:39. > :23:44.the 1st down because he is so smart. As he is going down, he is going to

:23:45. > :23:48.shove out the ball. Right at the yard line, great understanding of

:23:49. > :23:53.where he is on the field in getting that ball across the 1st down.

:23:54. > :23:59.Fitzgerald and he is tackled immediately. There it is. Third

:24:00. > :24:09.all-time. Written on the football. Larry Fitzgerald, he just climbs the

:24:10. > :24:17.ladder. Only behind Tony Gonzalez. Five and a 1st down and maybe a

:24:18. > :24:22.touchdown and it is. David Johnson. Only one run. 25 yard pass to David

:24:23. > :24:27.Johnson and the Cardinals scorer with still plenty of time remaining

:24:28. > :24:32.here in the fourth quarter. What a game between these two play of

:24:33. > :24:36.hungry teams. I don't know if he has been talking about it, but we need

:24:37. > :24:43.to start talking about David Johnson. They create ways to get him

:24:44. > :24:49.the football. He does a great job of getting downfield to block and JJ

:24:50. > :24:53.Nelson gets it away. David Johnson showing a burst. On the next

:24:54. > :25:03.Redskins Drive, Hopkins had a field goal to cut the lead to one point.

:25:04. > :25:11.They are on their own F34. 4th down and less than one. They have got a

:25:12. > :25:20.goal and they will run out. 4th down and won on their own line. Victory.

:25:21. > :25:24.A gain of 14 yards gets a 1st down and that may be bit gutsy as call he

:25:25. > :25:33.has had to make all year. We have heard this talked about all year.

:25:34. > :25:40.Playing to win the game. Time-out called by the Redskins. A play

:25:41. > :25:50.action and here is Carson Palmer going deeper and it is his pass.

:25:51. > :25:57.Touchdown! JJ Nelson! He went for all the marbles on that one, did

:25:58. > :26:03.Carson Palmer. In traffic, Nelson made a great play. First of all,

:26:04. > :26:09.Carson Palmer, they review it. Makes the throw, his guy are no guy gets

:26:10. > :26:15.it. That is a clean catch. 3rd down and four, here comes pressure, the

:26:16. > :26:23.Redskins need a touchdown. He is coming up. Here he comes again. This

:26:24. > :26:31.pass is going to be picked off by Peterson. Patrick Peterson with the

:26:32. > :26:35.interception. It is just a win, but it is a lot better than a loss. It

:26:36. > :26:42.makes everything taste better tonight. I am sure... I can't ask

:26:43. > :26:44.them to practice any harder. I'll bet there are a lot more smiles are

:26:45. > :26:57.practice on Wednesday. That's not the way we want to come

:26:58. > :27:02.out of a football game preparing for a good team on the road. We had two

:27:03. > :27:07.turnovers and we didn't cause any. It was a good football team so

:27:08. > :27:14.credit to the Arizona Cardinals but I feel we underachieved today and

:27:15. > :27:20.that is frustrating. In he didn't like a lot, did he? He was not a

:27:21. > :27:23.happy man after that game. Parry there were shouts heard from the

:27:24. > :27:31.locker room afterwards. It got a bit angry. But as former players, that

:27:32. > :27:40.is part and parcel. I have to tell you a story. Settle back. Is always

:27:41. > :27:45.used to make me laugh. We would say our prayers as a team, we would say

:27:46. > :27:49.The Lord's Prayer before the game, half-time and at the end of the

:27:50. > :27:56.game. So maybe at half-time, the coach would come in, we would be

:27:57. > :28:04.getting beaten and he would say" you guys are playing horrible. I can't

:28:05. > :28:12.believe this is happening. " "Let Us pray." I remember this. Two you

:28:13. > :28:24.can't pray after you say all of that. I had to get that off my mind.

:28:25. > :28:27.I like your stories. They gave penalties, Washington, two penalties

:28:28. > :28:33.on the first drive that he was fuming about. That does not set you

:28:34. > :28:39.off well. You do not want setbacks with penalties. This is the formula

:28:40. > :28:43.to beat them, pressure Kirk cousins. Make him get the ball out quick and

:28:44. > :28:48.make fast decisions. That is what they did. Towards the end of the

:28:49. > :28:52.game, he was under such pressure. Under duress. It doesn't matter how

:28:53. > :28:59.good you are. Kirk Cousins has been playing as well as anybody. Once the

:29:00. > :29:03.pressure comes at you, you make any quarterback look ordinary and they

:29:04. > :29:07.made him look terrible. You start to see receiver not being able to do

:29:08. > :29:12.just than the on the same timing. That is what happens when you have

:29:13. > :29:16.youth around you. We have rarely seen him rattled this season. In

:29:17. > :29:21.recent weeks he has been one of the best performing quarterbacks in the

:29:22. > :29:26.NFL. He has been sitting back there able to deliver the ball. They have

:29:27. > :29:31.harassed him and he couldn't beat them downfield. These are playoff

:29:32. > :29:35.chasing teams, it might be a bit far for the Cardinals to get to the

:29:36. > :29:41.playoffs, they converted ten of 16 third downs in this game. We saw how

:29:42. > :29:47.well they defended. Cardinals fans will wonder what could have been. A

:29:48. > :29:51.little bit too late. If you look at that offensive of forms, ten of 16

:29:52. > :29:57.on 3rd down is remarkable. You will not lose many games converting ten

:29:58. > :30:01.of 16 but I wish they had done this earlier. What I like about this game

:30:02. > :30:08.is they got rid of the ball quickly rather than taking three the -- deep

:30:09. > :30:14.drops like in previous games. I we still agree that it is too far for

:30:15. > :30:21.them to get to the playoffs? They would have two win out, it's not

:30:22. > :30:25.going to happen. All or nothing. I'm not used to you doing subtle jokes.

:30:26. > :30:31.A quick reminder that you can get another dose of the NFL on Saturday

:30:32. > :30:35.night. We will have highlights of the huge AFC West matchup between

:30:36. > :30:41.Kansas City and Oakland and we preview week 14 as well. If you are

:30:42. > :30:45.new to the sport, in 2014, Cleveland were not the worst team in the NFL.

:30:46. > :30:51.I will say that again, Cleveland were not the worst team in the NFL.

:30:52. > :30:56.Tampa Bay's 2-14 record secured that title. They got the number one pick

:30:57. > :31:00.in the 2015 draft as a result and they chose quarterback Jameis

:31:01. > :31:04.Winston. Less than two years after that terrible season, they are on a

:31:05. > :31:07.three-game winning streak, flying Cross country to San Diego. A win

:31:08. > :31:14.would tie them with Atlanta in the NFC South. Importantly it would move

:31:15. > :31:19.them into the NFC wild card spot at the expense of Washington. To be

:31:20. > :31:23.bottom of your division in week 30 might quell your fire but not in San

:31:24. > :31:29.Diego. No easy pickings in the AFC West. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are

:31:30. > :31:35.on a roll and on the road, vying for top spot in the NFC South. The dog

:31:36. > :31:42.end weekends of the NFL regular season, no such thing.

:31:43. > :31:52.COMMENTATOR: Chargers with 45 points scored on opening drive this season,

:31:53. > :31:58.2nd 9 for the Chargers. Rivers looks everything over. He uses up

:31:59. > :32:11.the play clock, time to throw, wide open. Cuts in, dives for the

:32:12. > :32:20.goal-line, touchdown. Another big play for Mr reliable, Don Trail

:32:21. > :32:28.Inman. Hayward opposite Evans. Of the play fake. It is intercepted by

:32:29. > :32:36.Casey Hayward. The league leader gets his seventh interception of the

:32:37. > :32:43.season. How about that? What a start for the San Diego Chargers defense.

:32:44. > :32:46.STUDIO: They were unable to capitalise on that turnover after a

:32:47. > :32:53.missed field goal attempt and gave Tampa Bay a chance to get on the

:32:54. > :32:59.scoreboard. COMMENTATOR: 2nd goal. Doug Martin, he tries to break

:33:00. > :33:10.through the wall, reaching for the goal-line. A signal is touchdown.

:33:11. > :33:19.What an effort by Doug Martin. 2nd goal at the two yard line. Gates.

:33:20. > :33:24.Rivers, for Gordon, drives for the goal-line and he is in for a

:33:25. > :33:31.touchdown. Tenth rushing touchdown of the season for Melvyn Gordon.

:33:32. > :33:36.STUDIO: In the second half, Tampa Bay reduced the lead to four points

:33:37. > :33:47.as they converted a 27 yard field goal. COMMENTATOR: Rivers,

:33:48. > :33:54.intercepted. That is returned by David for a touchdown. What a turn

:33:55. > :33:59.of events, the defense is taking over as David has the interception,

:34:00. > :34:07.15 yard return for a touchdown. And Tampa Bay had taken the lead. 11

:34:08. > :34:11.carries, 56 yards in this one. When you see the receiving yards, total

:34:12. > :34:18.yards from scrimmage for Melvyn Gordon. An outstanding back. He has

:34:19. > :34:28.breakaway speed and power to run inside. Three wide receivers for the

:34:29. > :34:32.Chargers. Gates shifting. Gordon carries, wide, makes the cut,

:34:33. > :34:41.breaking two tackles and tripped up in Tampa Bay territory. Tough run by

:34:42. > :34:43.Melvyn Gordon, 23 yards. 1st down for the Chargers, they use the

:34:44. > :34:51.time-out with the play clock winding down. The fullback shifts back in

:34:52. > :35:03.the backfield. Off the play fake, Rivers, going deep. Up top for

:35:04. > :35:07.Tyrone Williams, touchdown. The big play, they got the big run from

:35:08. > :35:13.Melvyn Gordon and they follow it up with a 40 yard touchdown pass,

:35:14. > :35:16.Rivers to Williams. STUDIO: In the fourth quarter, the Buccaneers

:35:17. > :35:21.responded with an eight play Drive that ended with a 35 yard field

:35:22. > :35:28.goal, the Chargers lead was down to a single point. COMMENTATOR: He

:35:29. > :35:42.steps up. He gets a block, throws into the end zone, touchdown. Jameis

:35:43. > :35:47.Winston just fired it in the. A double move, out and up, gets the

:35:48. > :35:54.coverage to jump outside and sure enough, Denzel Perryman not good

:35:55. > :36:00.coverage on Cameron break. Sixth touchdown of the season for the

:36:01. > :36:04.second year tight end out of Harvard. Now, the Buccaneers going

:36:05. > :36:18.for two. Three receivers to the right. Winston rolls, trouble, it's

:36:19. > :36:19.good to Mike Evans. He slipped the pass rush and made the throw to

:36:20. > :36:39.Evans. 2nd 1. Gordon goes out Rivers throws deep,

:36:40. > :36:45.looking for Inman, intercepted. Intercepted by the safety, Keith

:36:46. > :36:52.Candy. Rivers had room to get the 1st down and he went for it all. He

:36:53. > :36:55.gets picked off. Big interception by Keith Tandy, he has been known

:36:56. > :37:01.because of his play on special teams, he has not played a lot of

:37:02. > :37:05.snaps on defense. But he had to step up due to injury and comes away with

:37:06. > :37:11.a key interception in the fourth quarter. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers

:37:12. > :37:19.have now won four in a row, tied for first in the NFC South with a 7-5

:37:20. > :37:23.record. How about that? The one thing the coach has been

:37:24. > :37:28.emphasising, about finishing. I believe we did a good job of that.

:37:29. > :37:32.The defense finished strong, Keith Tandy with a great turnover for us.

:37:33. > :37:37.The offensive line have been playing well all year and that continued

:37:38. > :37:42.today. A lot of things went wrong in the first half. All of that other

:37:43. > :37:48.stuff will work out over time but it was great to get a win. San Diego is

:37:49. > :37:53.a good football team and we had to really fight to get this done. I am

:37:54. > :37:59.proud of our guys. The NFC South will be great going down the stretch

:38:00. > :38:03.with both of them 7-5. Atlanta have the Rams, 49ers, Panthers and

:38:04. > :38:08.Saints. Tampa Bay have the Saints twice, Panthers and also the

:38:09. > :38:12.Cowboys. There are some battles going on. Some great football to

:38:13. > :38:19.watch. I love what Tampa Bay is doing. They are bawling right now.

:38:20. > :38:23.Is there more pressure on Atlanta because people expect them to go

:38:24. > :38:28.further, is there less pressure on Tampa Bay? It has to be. Atlanta

:38:29. > :38:31.have been better for most of the season but Tampa are playing well

:38:32. > :38:37.down the stretch, interesting to see how it plays out. There is less

:38:38. > :38:41.pressure because Jameis Winston is only in his second year and he is

:38:42. > :38:45.learning. You know that team has time, he is a young quarterback and

:38:46. > :38:51.they are trying to get him to evolve and mature. He is doing things that

:38:52. > :38:55.veteran quarterbacks do. The way he works the pocket and his footwork,

:38:56. > :39:00.he doesn't panic. He knows his body type and can deliver the ball. What

:39:01. > :39:06.do you look for in a second year from a quarterback to show they are

:39:07. > :39:10.developing the right way? All players in the NFL make their

:39:11. > :39:14.biggest lead from year 12-year two, it is mentally. This is where they

:39:15. > :39:17.make the transition to becoming good football players. If they are able

:39:18. > :39:24.to eliminate a lot of mental mistakes. When he talks about his

:39:25. > :39:29.coach saying to close it out, that is a sign of mental strength, is it?

:39:30. > :39:33.You got to know what is happening in the game. That is part of the mental

:39:34. > :39:37.aspect of being a quarterback and he is doing that. The reason they

:39:38. > :39:40.picked him number one was not that he had a better skill set than

:39:41. > :39:46.Marcus Mariota but that he is a winner. They knew eventually he

:39:47. > :39:51.would bring a winning mentality to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Who does

:39:52. > :39:56.he remind you of, who is currently in the league, and established

:39:57. > :39:59.quarterback? Definitely Big Ben. That is a tall tale because of what

:40:00. > :40:07.Roethlisberger has done in his career but he has the same

:40:08. > :40:11.mannerisms. His stature in the pocket. Always looking downfield. He

:40:12. > :40:15.takes the pressure and moves quickly. He is so big he is not

:40:16. > :40:20.worried about falling down with the first defender. I have to agree. The

:40:21. > :40:27.only quarterback he plays similar to is Big Ben. He is younger than Big

:40:28. > :40:32.Ben, more mobile. And he also hasn't had the injuries. He hasn't been

:40:33. > :40:40.banged up like Roethlisberger. When Ben runs, he can get downfield. They

:40:41. > :40:44.have the girth. That's another way of putting it. Let's look at our

:40:45. > :40:52.final round-up from week 13. We start with Baltimore winning over

:40:53. > :40:56.the Dolphins. The day train came off the rails in this game. Baltimore

:40:57. > :41:01.38-6 against Miami College of lacquer increasing his record to 5-0

:41:02. > :41:09.against the Dolphins. His favourite target, Dennis Pitter, had two

:41:10. > :41:12.touchdowns. Not a great day for the Giants against Pittsburgh. The

:41:13. > :41:18.Pittsburgh defense holding the Giants in check restricting Eli

:41:19. > :41:23.Manning to two late touchdowns. Roughly spoke to Antonio Brown late

:41:24. > :41:24.on and then the dairy as green as Pittsburgh matched the Ravens on the

:41:25. > :41:39.top of the AFC North. It is Rogers 14 consecutive home win

:41:40. > :41:44.in December. That looks like a horrible place to play. That is not

:41:45. > :41:49.what you want. It's the only fun thing about getting to do snow

:41:50. > :41:59.angels! I'm not sure that is a massive advantage. Anyhow, Green Bay

:42:00. > :42:05.beating Houston 21-13. Indianapolis thrashed the New York Jets at Monday

:42:06. > :42:12.night, 41-10. They are now in a 3-way tie for first place. We will

:42:13. > :42:20.see the division shortly. Andrew Luck. Four touchdowns. Sunday now

:42:21. > :42:26.sees a home date for the cold against the Houston Texans. It

:42:27. > :42:33.finished their 41-10 in New York. You can't go out to New York after

:42:34. > :42:39.that. There was another thumping here, Seattle 47 against the

:42:40. > :42:45.Carolina Panthers. Two first-half touchdowns. Tyler Lockett added

:42:46. > :42:52.another after half-time. 75 yards that one. The Seahawks ran out 47

:42:53. > :42:56.winners. If we just take a look at the standings, the Patriots, if they

:42:57. > :43:01.win against Baltimore this weekend that could lock up their title. The

:43:02. > :43:05.North is between Baltimore and Pittsburgh and the South is a 3-way

:43:06. > :43:12.tie between the Texans, the Colts and the Titans and the AFC West,

:43:13. > :43:18.don't forget, Raiders take on the cheats on Thursday night. Dallas are

:43:19. > :43:21.confirmed in the playoffs. Detroit have a two-game lead at the top of

:43:22. > :43:27.the North but they go to the Giants and Dallas before the end of the

:43:28. > :43:33.season. We have been saying about Tampa and Seattle are comfortable in

:43:34. > :43:37.the NFC West. As far as the playoffs are concerned, Oakland are now in

:43:38. > :43:45.the AFC, New England alongside them, the wild Cards are at Kansas City

:43:46. > :43:49.and Denver. Indianapolis and Tennessee will fancy their chances.

:43:50. > :43:55.Tampa Bay now into the wild card positions and as things stand, they

:43:56. > :44:03.would go to Detroit. Washington will be breathing down their necks, the

:44:04. > :44:08.New York Jets. The Giants have lost their winning streak, Miami have

:44:09. > :44:13.lost theirs. Let's focus on the Giants, because Eli Manning was

:44:14. > :44:19.dreadful, to put it mildly against Pittsburgh. He didn't have one of

:44:20. > :44:22.his better games. Anyone who follows the Giants knows, this is exactly

:44:23. > :44:27.what he does. He will have games like this where you look at him and

:44:28. > :44:31.be like, what are you doing? Then he will bounce back. How difficult is

:44:32. > :44:42.it to be a team-mate when you know he will have games

:44:43. > :44:46.like that? If you are a new guy, you'd better hope someone says, we

:44:47. > :44:49.have seen this before, he will come back. Especially with the offense,

:44:50. > :44:52.it is on him to make all the throw is because the running game is not

:44:53. > :44:55.strong. He has games like this. What do you say to him? What was his

:44:56. > :45:00.worst game with you? We were playing against the Minnesota Vikings and he

:45:01. > :45:04.threw four interceptions, the worst I have ever seen. You would look at

:45:05. > :45:09.him, but he is so calm and collected, he does not get too high

:45:10. > :45:22.or too low and he goes on a run of play an

:45:23. > :45:27.outstanding football. If the Raiders keep their offense up like this,

:45:28. > :45:32.given the strength of their defense, they would be contenders? They will

:45:33. > :45:36.skyrocket to the top, if they can move up like this on offense, they

:45:37. > :45:40.have probably arguably the best defense in the league. If you can

:45:41. > :45:45.stop the run in the playoffs, you can make some good things happen.

:45:46. > :45:51.They are up there and he is the best on in the NFL. No one touches this

:45:52. > :45:56.guy, sometimes he makes mistakes and he seems to be in tune with what is

:45:57. > :46:02.going on around him, but once he gets rolled in, he is unstoppable.

:46:03. > :46:11.It is scary. I am worried about the running game. We still have Steelers

:46:12. > :46:18.to come. That will be a battle. AFC South, three teams on sacks and

:46:19. > :46:25.sacks, Titans, Colts, Texas, you're shaking your head. It is mediocre.

:46:26. > :46:28.Some teams figured it out late, you thought Houston would run off with

:46:29. > :46:36.the decent defense, but it did not happen. And you know. Tennessee,

:46:37. > :46:41.that dynamic run game they have... You like Tennessee and colds. As

:46:42. > :46:46.long as you have a franchise quarterback in place, anything can

:46:47. > :46:50.happen. I had seen it happen. I have seen teams that do not play defense

:46:51. > :46:56.and they go out there and with a good quarterback they make things

:46:57. > :47:06.happen. Don't keep talking. This is the highlight of my week. We have

:47:07. > :47:10.done the Osi index first of all. That is not in widescreen. That is

:47:11. > :47:14.the size of his head. That is who you had as your top five last week

:47:15. > :47:19.and you have brought in the Broncos this week. I had to drop the

:47:20. > :47:23.Falcons. Offensively, there are still pretty good but defensively

:47:24. > :47:28.they have not figured it out. We'll bring up Jason 's. It has not

:47:29. > :47:33.changed. I believe in my choices. They are very strong in your

:47:34. > :47:38.beliefs. Thank you very much to both of you as ever. The NFL show this

:47:39. > :47:48.Saturday after much of the day, that will be at ten to midnight. On

:47:49. > :47:51.Thursday, live Rugby Union. That is week 13 wrapped up, congratulations

:47:52. > :47:55.to the Dallas Cowboys, are first confirmed a playoff team and at the

:47:56. > :48:00.other end, the New York Jets are the latest in at a playoff contention.

:48:01. > :48:04.The season is over for Ryan Fitzpatrick and most likely his

:48:05. > :48:09.career in New York. Tom Bowles broke the news he will not play again this

:48:10. > :48:13.season. Personally, I would have had the tea lady tell him that. The

:48:14. > :48:24.three of us will see on Saturday, have a good week. Goodbye. It is a

:48:25. > :48:30.fanfare moment, America's team, first to make the playoffs. First to

:48:31. > :48:36.take that step into the postseason. Still a long way to go and even

:48:37. > :48:42.further for the teams jostling just about hanging onto their hopes. No

:48:43. > :48:59.fanfare yet for them, only the swirl of the fanfare, only in the NFL.

:49:00. > :49:02.I fundamentally disagree with hunting rare animals.

:49:03. > :49:06.But will living with hunters change Stacey's mind?
