:00:08. > :00:16.And it will be time for these stars teams to settle it. He is going to

:00:17. > :00:29.fire towards the end zone -- two teams. Looking downfield, going

:00:30. > :00:34.deep. Unbelievable! How did he do that? Cart! For the win.

:00:35. > :00:36.Unstoppable. Happy New Year to you all,

:00:37. > :00:38.welcome to NFL This Week. A week on and Osi is back

:00:39. > :00:42.in the house, Cleveland are still partying following their first win

:00:43. > :00:44.in 12 months, and it's the final round of the regular season

:00:45. > :00:47.with season defining games that will make, or in some cases,

:00:48. > :00:58.break playoff dreams. It is going to be hard. In the NFL

:00:59. > :01:10.it is hard every week. They know how to go out and get

:01:11. > :01:26.tough. You never give up. So many huge match-ups in week 17,

:01:27. > :01:30.here's a selection of what we'll be looking at on the show.

:01:31. > :01:32.A Washington win at home to the Giants would secure

:01:33. > :01:37.playoff football.. That win would mean a winner

:01:38. > :01:39.takes all in Detroit, with either the Lions or Packers

:01:40. > :01:43.missing out all together. Minus their leader at quarterback,

:01:44. > :01:45.Oakland went to Denver without Derek Carr looking

:01:46. > :01:50.for the win to secure the AFC West. Lose that game and Kansas had

:01:51. > :01:53.the chance to not only secure the division but also grab

:01:54. > :01:58.the second seed in the AFC. Here is the playoff picture

:01:59. > :02:01.heading into week 17. A quick reminder, to make

:02:02. > :02:03.the playoffs you need to win your division,

:02:04. > :02:06.or gain a wildcard spot by having The the Division winners

:02:07. > :02:10.are then seeded depending on their regular season record.

:02:11. > :02:12.So the six teams were wrapped up here, but for New England a win over

:02:13. > :02:16.Miami would secure home field advantage right through to

:02:17. > :02:18.the Super Bowl, should As mentioned Kansas City went

:02:19. > :02:24.into week 17 looking at that second seed and valuable bye week held

:02:25. > :02:29.by Oakland. In the NFC Dallas lead the way,

:02:30. > :02:32.but the second seed is still Seattle were hoping Atlanta might

:02:33. > :02:37.slip up and allow them the chance to avoid wildcard weekend

:02:38. > :02:40.and the valuable bye week that comes with being number 1 and 2 seed.

:02:41. > :02:44.Tampa Bay were still in the hunt but had better odds of winning

:02:45. > :02:47.the lottery than results falling into place!

:02:48. > :02:48.As mentioned, a Washington win and they're in the playoffs,

:02:49. > :03:09.which is where we'll The 17th and final round of the

:03:10. > :03:13.season. After weeks, it could not be more straightforward. Win and the

:03:14. > :03:18.Washington Redskins make the playoffs. Lose and they don't. The

:03:19. > :03:23.New York Times have already made the playoffs, but they have chosen their

:03:24. > :03:31.18, Giants that Kirk Cousins must pull down.

:03:32. > :03:43.Back up at the top of the screen. Here it is Perkins. In the 20, down

:03:44. > :03:47.at the 15th. In a game that the Washington Redskins need to get into

:03:48. > :03:55.the playoffs, they are watching the Giants move into scoring range. The

:03:56. > :04:03.Giants eventually stalled. They got the ball back in the second quarter.

:04:04. > :04:11.The Giants pick it up and there goes O'Dell back out at the 41. He is on

:04:12. > :04:25.Josh Norman -- Beckham. Second and sacks. There is Beckham. That will

:04:26. > :04:29.be a flag on a Norman and here we go again. Norman against Beckham, round

:04:30. > :04:36.three and this time the flag is on Norman. He has to be concerned, this

:04:37. > :04:42.has been all New York Giants. The Giants with their chance to extend

:04:43. > :04:45.their lead to 10-0. All of us, we don't know what to expect from the

:04:46. > :04:50.Giants but they are playing good ball. Touchdown. Impressive start

:04:51. > :04:56.for New York here against their divisional rivals. MARK CHAPMAN: He

:04:57. > :05:04.had a chance to get Washington on the board, but went wide from 57

:05:05. > :05:17.yards. The Giants are going for it. 4th down and two. Pass is tipped.

:05:18. > :05:22.Broken up by faster. -- Forster. They are all out there for the

:05:23. > :05:27.Giants. The only guy that we have not seen has been Jenkins on the

:05:28. > :05:37.defensive side. You take him out and replace them with Dominic Rogers.

:05:38. > :05:46.You think you can go after them. 147 on 3rd down. Nice move. There is

:05:47. > :05:59.life for the Redskins. Down in the 25. -- down inside the 25. Kirk

:06:00. > :06:05.Cousins, the receiver fell down and DRC with their kick back the other

:06:06. > :06:09.way. Harris lost its bidding and for Dominic Rogers, his bed kick of the

:06:10. > :06:17.year. Here it is Harris. Down he goes. He has caught seven balls all

:06:18. > :06:24.season long. Let's look and see if Rogers gets his foot down. MARK

:06:25. > :06:28.CHAPMAN: Washington forced a three and out and Hopkins finally put the

:06:29. > :06:34.Redskins on the board. They trailed by seven going into the fourth

:06:35. > :06:40.quarter. Here is Perkins with a career high. He stopped short here.

:06:41. > :06:49.Extra effort made it close. He is less than a yard short of the 1st

:06:50. > :07:03.down. 3rd down and 17. Khorasan looking for blocks. A flag at the

:07:04. > :07:07.end of it a lot of Pierre Garcon. He just went and got it. It looked like

:07:08. > :07:13.they were going to get land in columns with the late head. You see

:07:14. > :07:27.what has happened on this drive. -- hit. One on one. Touchdown!

:07:28. > :07:31.Washington! He has to go up for it and for a guy who is playing with a

:07:32. > :07:37.shoulder injury knowing that you will get parked, that is a heck of a

:07:38. > :07:42.job, securing the ball and giving the Redskins team a chance to tie

:07:43. > :07:50.this game up. Fourth 1st down of the half for the Giants. Hitting his

:07:51. > :08:00.stride. The first-year player out of Georgia is good for 44 yards. A

:08:01. > :08:03.simple goal route by King. Eli Manning is able to beat Blackman

:08:04. > :08:10.with the ball with a perfectly thrown pass. Check that MARK

:08:11. > :08:21.CHAPMAN: Robbie Gould give them the lead 13 minutes left. This may rest

:08:22. > :08:25.on Hopkins to tie it. The Redskins call time-out and they have given

:08:26. > :08:39.the Giants an opportunity to bring in some fresh legs. Kirk Cousins.

:08:40. > :08:40.Oppose it down. Intercepted by Dominic Rogers. And that could very

:08:41. > :08:57.well end of the year for Washington. Second interception, second turnover

:08:58. > :09:00.of the game as well and it is a back breaker for the Redskins. Devon is

:09:01. > :09:06.going to be the one to put the pressure. The pressure by him forces

:09:07. > :09:10.Cousins to slide to his left and tried to make a throw to Garcon

:09:11. > :09:16.without being able to plant his feet and lead him across the middle. He

:09:17. > :09:21.is open but Dominic Rogers in a trail technique and a ball thrown

:09:22. > :09:28.behind him, he is able to make a play, once again, 40 in the Redskins

:09:29. > :09:39.drive. The Giants do four or five players deep. Throws underneath.

:09:40. > :09:44.This is it. Flag is down and on the ladder and on the bounce, chairman

:09:45. > :09:51.Wayne will take it in for the touchdown and the call is Anna Lo --

:09:52. > :10:01.is illegible. This will stand. 19-10. There is a uniqueness and

:10:02. > :10:06.something special about this squad of guys. We will find a way to win

:10:07. > :10:11.the games. I wish it could be pretty at times but we are winning games

:10:12. > :10:15.and that is a good quality to have. This is in my first time dealing

:10:16. > :10:20.with this. Tough times do not last but tough people do. I will keep

:10:21. > :10:25.saying that until I retire. All I know is that it will give me an edge

:10:26. > :10:46.and I will go back to work this offseason and have

:10:47. > :10:51.a hunger that has always been there but when the season ends this way,

:10:52. > :10:54.it will be there and it will be strong. We will talk more about the

:10:55. > :10:56.Giants in a moment, but as far as Kirk Cousins is concerned, he will

:10:57. > :10:59.not like what happened in this game. He will not like that. Any part of

:11:00. > :11:02.it. Is his future on the line at Washington. No, it is supply and

:11:03. > :11:05.demand. He is one of the better quarterbacks in the lead -- in the

:11:06. > :11:07.league. He had an up and down year, but his ups were better than his

:11:08. > :11:10.downs. The Washington Redskins should build their team around him.

:11:11. > :11:13.Is it fair that there is speculation about his future and not that

:11:14. > :11:17.interception but the one late in the fourth quarter, if you look at some

:11:18. > :11:22.of the American media, it has been described as the past that could

:11:23. > :11:26.cost $28 million. If there were more options, yeah. There aren't really

:11:27. > :11:30.many options out there. You're better with what you have got and

:11:31. > :11:33.particularly a man who has not performed well. It is hard to find a

:11:34. > :11:45.good quarterback for the system that is in play and he can do that. No

:11:46. > :11:47.doubt about it. There are not enough football players to play that

:11:48. > :11:50.position who can play the way he is capable of. It is the subject we

:11:51. > :11:52.have touched on a bit, is Eli Manning a good quarterback at the

:11:53. > :11:55.moment. He is a great quarterback and he will always be. He has

:11:56. > :11:59.Championship pedigree and what he has working in his favour now is he

:12:00. > :12:04.does not have to carry the football team. The defense carries this

:12:05. > :12:09.football team. I agree, Eli is a good player, but it is the running

:12:10. > :12:15.game. Him allowing that running game and are getting going for it the

:12:16. > :12:19.offense is carrying his game. Eli is a great quarterback, but it is the

:12:20. > :12:25.context of how the season has gone. If you say they need to develop a

:12:26. > :12:29.running game, surely that should be done by now. You can't just develop

:12:30. > :12:32.a running game going into the playoffs six you want to have

:12:33. > :12:35.developed by the time you had the playoffs if you're able to hit the

:12:36. > :12:39.playoffs and what has happened with him is, they were able to win on

:12:40. > :12:43.defense and it gives them time to find a running back and Paul

:12:44. > :12:48.Perkins. The Giants had shown a commitment to running the football

:12:49. > :12:51.of last couple of weeks. They might add over 100 yards like they did in

:12:52. > :12:59.the past week but they will continue to do that and rely on their

:13:00. > :13:05.defense. Let's look at the other important fixtures in the NFC. We

:13:06. > :13:10.know that Dallas have wrapped up the number one seed. They gave Tony Romo

:13:11. > :13:17.and Erin and he has completed one drive with his second-quarter cameo.

:13:18. > :13:26.The best quarterback in Dallas! Selley combined well. -- Michael

:13:27. > :13:30.Philadelphia. Chip Kelly's final fling saw the 49ers score image

:13:31. > :13:37.touchdown to put clear water between them and Seattle. The Seahawks first

:13:38. > :13:42.of all fought back and then fought amongst themselves. We will talk

:13:43. > :13:46.more about that in a little while. The Falcons are the ones to watch as

:13:47. > :13:55.the divisional playoffs loom. They got the ball rolling in New Orleans

:13:56. > :13:59.with a free men dazzling touchdown. And Matt Ryan continues to be a

:14:00. > :14:01.prime candidate, for a touchdown throws through the first half. Julio

:14:02. > :14:05.Jones with that to Tapper. And wrapping up the NFC regular

:14:06. > :14:07.season were Green Bay at Detroit. Washington's loss made sure both

:14:08. > :14:24.teams were playoff bound, but there A rare moment of relief, both teams

:14:25. > :14:29.in the playoffs without having to score a point today, but relief sits

:14:30. > :14:34.uneasily in the NFL. There is the NFC North divisional title at stake,

:14:35. > :14:39.23 years have passed since the Lions once in won one and the Packers keen

:14:40. > :14:44.to keep their resurgent streak going. It is Aaron Rodgers against

:14:45. > :14:51.Matt Stafford, relief is not on the menu.

:14:52. > :15:05.Ten out three out of seven 430 the eyeing us Michael 39 yards.

:15:06. > :15:16.Golden Tate is able to make the catch. Julius Peppers slammed as he

:15:17. > :15:26.went to make the tackle. MARK CHAPMAN: missing a 39 yard field

:15:27. > :15:33.goal kept the scores level. COMMENTATOR: This is the longest

:15:34. > :15:39.streak of his illustrious career. Now, he is down in Nelson range.

:15:40. > :15:48.This is a guy with 11 red zone touchdowns. No one is even close. 14

:15:49. > :15:58.total touchdowns for number 87. Rodgers throws over the middle.

:15:59. > :16:05.Touchdown. He has had a heck of an impact rushing in this game. Thomas

:16:06. > :16:13.on the bench right now. Stafford airing it out and it's caught at the

:16:14. > :16:21.35-yard line by Jones. Second year guy out of Notre Dame. 3rd goal.

:16:22. > :16:34.Into the end zone. Detroit touchdown. Detroit have all of its

:16:35. > :16:42.time-outs. Zennor. Out of bounds at the 33-yard line. 1st down and goal.

:16:43. > :16:54.Zennor in the backfield has carried 16 times. Touchdown! Golden Tate

:16:55. > :17:01.slides to the inside. MARK CHAPMAN: The Packers put together a drive

:17:02. > :17:09.that enabled a field goal to cut the lead going into half-time. Play

:17:10. > :17:20.action. Nelson taking the ball to the 2-yard line. Going to roll to

:17:21. > :17:34.the right. Fire. Court. Touchdown. Davante Adams. He will get penalised

:17:35. > :17:43.for using the goalpost as a prop. 1st 16. Davante Adams in the

:17:44. > :17:54.backfield. The pass is holding, in Detroit territory by Geronimo

:17:55. > :18:01.Alison. Another catch here for 31. 3rd 9. Packers go five wide. Lyons

:18:02. > :18:06.Rushforth. There goes a Aaron Rodgers again. Looking to the

:18:07. > :18:12.outside again. Throwing and it is caught for a touchdown by Geronimo

:18:13. > :18:18.Alison. You can't stop him if he does that. What did he have the

:18:19. > :18:24.ball? Eight or nine seconds? This is why it is so difficult to defend.

:18:25. > :18:28.Plenty of time, scrambling around, buying time. Eventually one of these

:18:29. > :18:36.wide receivers uncover. They practice this all the time. People

:18:37. > :18:40.think, it's streetball. No. Every single day, when we give them the

:18:41. > :18:45.opportunity to go there, Aaron Rodgers, even when there is nobody

:18:46. > :18:54.else on the field will try and come up with plays like that. They are

:18:55. > :19:06.used to it. MARK CHAPMAN: lines possession, the lead down to six.

:19:07. > :19:15.COMMENTATOR: Montgomery in the backfield. Rodgers is going to take

:19:16. > :19:20.the snap. Rodgers takes it himself. He does everything. 1st down. It's

:19:21. > :19:31.easy to say what a call when it works but what a call. Stafford can

:19:32. > :19:35.only hope for another shot. Lions dancing around, showing blitz. Here

:19:36. > :19:44.they come. The pass to Adams in the corner of the end zone. Davante

:19:45. > :19:51.Adams working on Nevin Lawson. Aaron Rodgers has an even 300 yards on the

:19:52. > :19:56.evening. You saw the blitz. You know it is one-on-one coverage. Davante

:19:57. > :20:03.Adams, his 11th touchdown in a year. He's had a few drops but that

:20:04. > :20:12.balance along with Jordy Nelson and Cook getting back into form, you

:20:13. > :20:16.give that guy weapons and... 137, going down. Stafford fires and that

:20:17. > :20:28.is going to be Micah Hyde coming away with it in the end zone for a

:20:29. > :20:35.touchdown. Game on the line. Plays it perfectly. Arms around each other

:20:36. > :20:39.on both sides. Officials say play on. Matthew Stafford can't believe

:20:40. > :20:47.it. For all we talk about Aaron Rodgers and this Offense, what the

:20:48. > :20:54.Defense did when nobody left to play quarterback, one of the great shows

:20:55. > :21:01.of this year. Tremendous. Seven games, 18 touchdowns. The rating is

:21:02. > :21:07.spectacular. Stafford throws. A few hearts beating around the country.

:21:08. > :21:17.Anquan Boldin courted. That is overwhelming. -- he caught it. Kenya

:21:18. > :21:33.-- can you imagine another player like that catching a Hail Mary like

:21:34. > :21:37.that? You have Rodgers, Alison, Adams, the guys who are used to

:21:38. > :21:47.handling the ball. Montgomery back of the 25-yard line. That with

:21:48. > :21:53.Richard Rodgers will do it. Not quite as exciting as what Rodgers

:21:54. > :22:00.did last time but pretty good. The Green Bay Packers go to the playoffs

:22:01. > :22:08.for the eighth consecutive year. Giants go to Lambeau next week.

:22:09. > :22:13.We're in the playoffs and the goal is to win the Bowl. It's fun to win

:22:14. > :22:17.with these guys and to do it the way we did for the last six weeks. We've

:22:18. > :22:26.got a great football team playing really well. Were just happy to be

:22:27. > :22:32.back at Lambeau. It's very difficult to get into the playoffs. Where one

:22:33. > :22:37.of the 12 teams in it. So, if you're in, you got a chance.

:22:38. > :22:43.Congratulations to the Lions making it to the playoffs. A heck of a

:22:44. > :22:45.football game, it was fun to coach in it and we're very proud to win

:22:46. > :22:53.this title again. So the NFC road to Super Bowl 51

:22:54. > :22:56.will go through Dallas, who end the regular season as number

:22:57. > :22:59.1 seed and have that Matt Ryan's Atlanta Falcons

:23:00. > :23:03.are second seeds and join Dallas on the bye week ahead

:23:04. > :23:07.of wildcard weekend. Seattle's three wins from their last

:23:08. > :23:10.six games has seen them slip into third seed,

:23:11. > :23:12.they will host sixth seed Fourth seed Green Bay will host

:23:13. > :23:16.the New York Giants this coming wildcard weekend at a very cold

:23:17. > :23:25.Lambeau field! We will get onto Green Bay- New York

:23:26. > :23:32.in a moment. Let's start with Green Bay. You marvel at Aaron Rodgers and

:23:33. > :23:35.you see the stats, 18 touchdowns, no interceptions in seven games. You

:23:36. > :23:42.wonder if he's unstoppable at the moment. This guy is playing the best

:23:43. > :23:48.quarterback we've seen in the NFL in history. His stats is ridiculous. 18

:23:49. > :23:54.touchdowns, I've never heard of it before. And the turnaround is

:23:55. > :24:00.remarkable. Six weeks ago, they appeared to be an unhappy camper. He

:24:01. > :24:05.called out some team-mates. He was hobbling and limping. Now, he's like

:24:06. > :24:12.a Rolls-Royce. He never panicked because he believed in his skill

:24:13. > :24:16.set. This play is amazing. Watch his footwork. How quickly he sets up the

:24:17. > :24:24.throw again. You don't see quarterbacks do that. How would you

:24:25. > :24:29.play against him? Now? You just have to rush the past. You can't give him

:24:30. > :24:35.time to sit in the pocket and do all the incredible things he's able to

:24:36. > :24:41.do. You have to attack him, came contain him in the pocket. You have

:24:42. > :24:45.played against him and we have footage. You're smiling already.

:24:46. > :24:52.We've got footage of you play against him. This was the Giants in

:24:53. > :24:55.Lambeau. The couple of times they have gone there and beaten Green Bay

:24:56. > :25:04.and gone on to the Super Bowl. We are going to see you, missing him

:25:05. > :25:10.first time. You have two persist. Look at what I did! Some shots

:25:11. > :25:18.elsewhere of this game. Look at this. You were teachers pet there.

:25:19. > :25:25.You were the closest to Tom Coughlin. I wanted to be there where

:25:26. > :25:30.everybody could see me. With my helmet on, they don't see me too

:25:31. > :25:42.much. I wanted to be in shot. See it one more time. He grabs you. I was

:25:43. > :25:47.his favourite! Hello, son. What do you think it will be like for the

:25:48. > :25:53.Giants going to Lambeau given the history they have albeit with a very

:25:54. > :25:59.different roster. One guy who is very important is Eli. He can say,

:26:00. > :26:03.follow me and I will take you to the promised land. I like the Giants

:26:04. > :26:06.chances in this particular game. I can't explain how difficult what

:26:07. > :26:12.they did against the Washington Redskins was. They had nothing to

:26:13. > :26:16.play for and they defeated the Washington Redskins and I like their

:26:17. > :26:20.chances in this game. In tribute to the Giants going to Lambeau, the

:26:21. > :26:25.previous times they did that they went on to win the Super Bowl. Just

:26:26. > :26:35.to prove he is a Super Bowl winner, he has brought his two rings. Look

:26:36. > :26:43.at that! Bear a shiny! They don't do things by halves, I tell you.

:26:44. > :26:46.Atlanta, now second seeds. We discussed whether we had given them

:26:47. > :26:54.enough credit. They will be a real threat. It is good for them for two

:26:55. > :27:01.reasons. They have time to prepare and Julio Jones has time to heal.

:27:02. > :27:08.The only distraction will be their defensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan

:27:09. > :27:14.who is interviewing for jobs. Surely that kind of thing should wait till

:27:15. > :27:19.the season is over. Teams have the opportunity to hire" she is. You

:27:20. > :27:23.don't want to wait until the season is over. He would have missed his

:27:24. > :27:28.chance. He deserves the opportunity to compete for a head coaching job.

:27:29. > :27:34.You'd think that was a distraction if you were one of his players. This

:27:35. > :27:39.is definitely a distraction. He is making a decision for his future and

:27:40. > :27:44.he's going to put in time for that. What is he supposed to do? Wait for

:27:45. > :27:49.the job is to be filled. That's not fair to him. I don't agree with the

:27:50. > :27:55.process but it is taking away from the next game. The men who would

:27:56. > :28:00.have had their odd difference of opinion, what you think about the

:28:01. > :28:09.Seattle Seahawks players fighting amongst themselves? This is

:28:10. > :28:14.ridiculous. Read gets dejected and Clark decides to give him a piece of

:28:15. > :28:18.his mind. Ridiculous. They should have waited to get into the locker

:28:19. > :28:24.room to address their differences. You don't Bear your dirty laundry

:28:25. > :28:28.for everyone to see. This is part of the dysfunction of the Seattle

:28:29. > :28:32.Seahawks right now. If you know somebody that is hurting the team

:28:33. > :28:35.and letting them down, you need to keep it under control. You would be

:28:36. > :28:40.the first guy to grab somebody and say, calm down. But I wouldn't want

:28:41. > :28:46.to address it right there on the sideline. Clark had problems on his

:28:47. > :28:50.own. He's not the veteran on that football team that should be

:28:51. > :28:56.grabbing people by the scruff of the neck. He should chill out a bit. Do

:28:57. > :29:08.it in private. Not in public. Do it in private. Good luck after the

:29:09. > :29:09.show. This Friday we will take a look at the final round of the

:29:10. > :29:11.regular season. If you miss the show

:29:12. > :29:31.on Friday evening you can Tom Brady led the Patriots again.

:29:32. > :29:40.Welcome, I'm here. 77 yard catch and run. And a thunderous block from

:29:41. > :29:50.Floyd. He is likely to lead Miami into the playoffs. Houston against

:29:51. > :29:53.Tennessee. They had better days. Jones rumbled through for a

:29:54. > :30:01.touchdown and then a second-quarter concussion saw him exit the game.

:30:02. > :30:19.The ?72 million man didn't throw a touchdown. Santer fraud! You can't

:30:20. > :30:27.call him that. Pittsburgh's knocking for an overtime touchdown. Jones

:30:28. > :30:32.finding Hamilton to secure the game. Is that your own personal nickname?

:30:33. > :30:34.Over in the AFC West, Oakland and Kansas City both had

:30:35. > :30:37.an opportunity to not only secure the division but the valuable AFC

:30:38. > :30:40.second seed and the bye week that comes with it.

:30:41. > :30:41.For the loser playoff football is secured,

:30:42. > :30:44.but rather than a week off they'll be back the following weekend

:30:45. > :30:48.Both keen to secure the bye week, leaders Oakland had the tough trip

:30:49. > :30:51.to Denver whilst Kansas City headed to other divisional

:30:52. > :31:09.High drama. A classic western. The Oakland Raiders on their drive,

:31:10. > :31:13.majestic until this. It is broke! The broken leg of Derek Carr, to

:31:14. > :31:18.take the title they have to pick themselves up and take the high road

:31:19. > :31:25.to Denver, home of the still raining and most certainly smarting Broncos.

:31:26. > :31:31.Liz, and the offer of the division title and a home tie ahead is held

:31:32. > :31:32.out to the Kansas City Chiefs. Raiders and Chiefs, the double

:31:33. > :31:46.screenplay of the day. The Raiders trying to win to take

:31:47. > :31:52.the division for the first time since 2002. The Broncos are driving

:31:53. > :32:00.here. Into the end zone for the touchdown. Denver picking up six

:32:01. > :32:09.first downs after taken the opening kick-off. -- taking.

:32:10. > :32:18.So many injuries have hit these San Diego Chargers. And their line-up

:32:19. > :32:24.does not resemble anything close to what it looked like on opening day.

:32:25. > :32:34.The throw in. Nolan coming out of the outfield. He is put out of

:32:35. > :32:39.bounds. MARK CHAPMAN: Nine plays later, a field goal to give it the

:32:40. > :32:49.Chargers a three point lead. Five wide receivers on third and sixth.

:32:50. > :32:55.Smith. Down the near side line. Court at the 10-yard line. MARK

:32:56. > :32:59.CHAPMAN: For plays later, the Chief Scott on the board with a field

:33:00. > :33:09.goal. The game was tied at three all. Rivers throws. What a catch

:33:10. > :33:15.made. The 48, once again it is Hunter Henry. He had himself a

:33:16. > :33:24.healthier season than usual this year. Rivers. This side of the

:33:25. > :33:35.field. In 2pm zone, touchdown, Gates. He is tied with Tony

:33:36. > :33:47.Gonzalez. It will be interesting to see when the game ends. He breaks.

:33:48. > :33:49.And another tackle. Being chased by Malcolm Smith. He tries to punch the

:33:50. > :34:01.football out from behind. MARK CHAPMAN: That run lead to an

:34:02. > :34:12.McManus 22 yard field goal. The Raiders trailed by then. -- ten.

:34:13. > :34:17.Quick pass to the far side. Albert Wilson. To the 20, to the ten and

:34:18. > :34:26.tripped up before he got to the end zone. He was marked out about the

:34:27. > :34:37.5-yard line. Those short passes are nice idea. It turned into an 80 yard

:34:38. > :34:43.touchdown a week ago. This is Alex Smith. For the end zone, touchdown.

:34:44. > :34:50.Knife block in front of him by Travis Kelsey. Alex Smith. Rush and

:34:51. > :35:01.touchdown of the season for Alex. It is going to be one of those kinds of

:35:02. > :35:06.days on the scoreboard. Rivers. Intercepted. Picked off at midfield.

:35:07. > :35:13.Peters is out of bounds at the 30-yard line. He was under pressure

:35:14. > :35:21.in the pocket and Peters jumped the route. Smith, rolling, throwing,

:35:22. > :35:29.touchdown. Martin Spiers, the interception. The Kansas City Chiefs

:35:30. > :35:44.convert at the other end. Again, he is high. Going towards Crabtree and

:35:45. > :35:49.he got hit. It is out. 93. 15-yard penalty. Automatic. 1st down. It

:35:50. > :35:54.looks like it is going to be the football goes high. He has to lean

:35:55. > :36:00.back, he knows he is getting pressure. The head hit the ground. I

:36:01. > :36:06.Jo Scott word from the Oakland Raiders that Matt McGloin has a

:36:07. > :36:14.shoulder injury. His return is not likely. We will see his first action

:36:15. > :36:20.of the regular season. 3rd 18. Big penalty took the Broncos out of

:36:21. > :36:24.field goal range. He has got room. He has got an open field ahead. He

:36:25. > :36:32.has got to the end zone for the second time. MARK CHAPMAN: Just

:36:33. > :36:35.before half-time at Arrowhead, the Chiefs converted a field goal from

:36:36. > :36:49.Santos to extend their lead to ten points. 2nd 3. Smith throw in.

:36:50. > :37:01.Intercepted. Picked off on the far side of the field. Back to their 30.

:37:02. > :37:07.Thirdly, 20, touchdown, San Diego. No flags on the field.

:37:08. > :37:21.Simeon, throws it in there to Thomas. Into the red zone. Second in

:37:22. > :37:32.goal. Reaction to the end zone, it is a touchdown. Virgil Green.

:37:33. > :37:39.40-yard line. Alex Smith to throw. Wide open in the middle of the

:37:40. > :37:44.field. For a 1st down, a 20 yard pick-up. A reminder what is at stake

:37:45. > :37:53.with Oakland losing, Kansas City winning here, then Kansas City would

:37:54. > :37:59.move up to number two seed. They win the Championship.

:38:00. > :38:12.Touchdown. That looked really easy. Very familiar, the same path they

:38:13. > :38:19.did earlier with the roll-out. West goes up and out. The receivers to

:38:20. > :38:21.the right crash down, it is seldom easy the same play work twice in the

:38:22. > :38:38.same area of the field. First and ten. Kirk. Bodies around

:38:39. > :38:44.him. Beautiful pass. Cooper. Try to reach out for it. They say

:38:45. > :38:49.touchdown. Cooper. There are a couple of things. This was a big

:38:50. > :38:54.drop. Good field position and they took advantage. Connor Cook stepping

:38:55. > :38:59.up was the first thing and the Raiders love to make double moves.

:39:00. > :39:04.They do a lot of them during the game and that was some job by

:39:05. > :39:13.Cooper. How about the way he finds the pylon? It was a touchdown. Took

:39:14. > :39:22.a hand from Kirk. Tipped away by Simmons. You talked about how

:39:23. > :39:32.important the bye week was. It just got more important. Playing that one

:39:33. > :39:46.from in his own 10-yard line. Here he goes! Down the sideline for the

:39:47. > :39:56.touchdown. No flags! 95 yards for Hill. He also has a kick-off return.

:39:57. > :39:59.MARK CHAPMAN: At the top of the fourth quarter, the Chargers

:40:00. > :40:04.converted a field goal from Lambeau but the Chiefs would respond with

:40:05. > :40:10.another Santos 37 yard field goal to make it a 17 point lead as the game

:40:11. > :40:19.wound down. I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers keep growing and

:40:20. > :40:28.growing. Rivers, wide open at the goal-line, touchdown to Hunter

:40:29. > :40:35.Henry, the rookie tight end. Final score, 37-27. Kansas City wins the

:40:36. > :40:41.AFC West. They will have a bye week before resuming their pursuit of a

:40:42. > :40:46.Super Bowl. I tell you guys all the time, you get what you earn in this

:40:47. > :40:52.league. We did not do enough to earn a win tonight. Tough game, we did a

:40:53. > :40:59.nice job. We didn't do enough early enough to win. That is the way it

:41:00. > :41:04.goes in this league. For us, it was a big swing, to goal from

:41:05. > :41:09.potentially playing a road game in the wild card, to a buy and hosting

:41:10. > :41:17.a game. There was no in between, a big swing. Credit to our division.

:41:18. > :41:19.How well we have been playing. We took care at our end and got some

:41:20. > :41:22.help from Denver. So we finally have our 12 teams

:41:23. > :41:36.confirmed for the playoffs. Pittsburgh post-Miami. Oakland head

:41:37. > :41:41.to Houston. Dallas and Atlanta are keen observers of the wild card

:41:42. > :41:48.weekend. Seattle will take part in wild card we get hosting Detroit.

:41:49. > :41:52.Green they host the New York Giants at Lambeau. Apologies to Kansas City

:41:53. > :42:04.fans, I said it was at Arrowhead but it was in San Diego. Let's focus on

:42:05. > :42:08.Oakland. Noel Derek Carr, Matt McGloin was injured in this game and

:42:09. > :42:16.they had to go to their third ranked. The timing was awful.

:42:17. > :42:19.Terrible misfortune. This team had played good football for the entire

:42:20. > :42:24.year, lose their star quarterback and now they have to go in to the

:42:25. > :42:31.playoffs like that. Terrible luck. You don't know what to say. You feel

:42:32. > :42:35.so bad. It was a big hit. Right on his shoulder. He was starting to get

:42:36. > :42:43.wraps as a starter and now he is out any have to bring in somebody else.

:42:44. > :42:47.He did throw a touchdown but later on he did this. You can do anything

:42:48. > :42:52.about it. It's not like you can bring in someone else. They have a

:42:53. > :43:00.great offensive line but now that teams will stack the box. If I was

:43:01. > :43:03.going to be positive for the Raiders, do you at least give that

:43:04. > :43:07.those quarterbacks are bit of leeway in that they were taking an Denver

:43:08. > :43:14.and their defense and an emotional Denver as well. They knew that

:43:15. > :43:19.Kubiak was leaving, they wanted to go out on a high... You are trying.

:43:20. > :43:25.You know what a good quarterback does, but they don't! There is no

:43:26. > :43:31.way that you can take any positives out of this situation. These are two

:43:32. > :43:35.unproven quarterbacks. There is no way they can overcome that. You

:43:36. > :43:39.would hope there is not enough film out there on them. They don't know

:43:40. > :43:44.what they can really do well and they might get away with it for one

:43:45. > :43:48.game. I'm sure most people watching will note the situation with Gary

:43:49. > :43:54.Kubiak and why he is stepping down for health reasons. It is a very sad

:43:55. > :43:59.story. We know by being in the locker room how much time as coaches

:44:00. > :44:04.put in. I used to see throughout the season, cultures got sick, everyone

:44:05. > :44:08.had a cold, they put in a lot of hours and that wears down your body

:44:09. > :44:13.and his health has been impacted. He was a former player and all the

:44:14. > :44:18.players loved him, he rallied the troops. ... He had a great

:44:19. > :44:25.relationship with John Elway. They had everything going for themselves.

:44:26. > :44:31.We wish him well. He is the one who left through choice. The other

:44:32. > :44:39.coaches that went, it is called 'Black Monday'. It tends to be Black

:44:40. > :44:47.Sunday night! Maybe a couple of before that. 49ers, Chargers, Jags,

:44:48. > :44:57.Broncos, Rams, all looking for new head coaches. Alt of those jobs, if

:44:58. > :45:03.you were both to be head coach... I could see it, which one would you

:45:04. > :45:06.take on why? The Broncos. They have a great defense. You always want to

:45:07. > :45:12.take over a team with a good defense. They have everything in

:45:13. > :45:17.place, they just lost their head guy for health reasons. He has taken the

:45:18. > :45:23.Broncos job. You would say the same thing. Alt of the other ones

:45:24. > :45:29.available, where would you go? Los Angeles. Rams. Hollywood! I would go

:45:30. > :45:41.and enjoy the fun in the sun. You have a good young quarterback. He is

:45:42. > :45:46.young. They have to give him time to develop. You know you have at least

:45:47. > :45:55.two or three years. I am definitely going to LA. It started as a

:45:56. > :46:07.compliment. Over the course of the season, we have seen the Jason and

:46:08. > :46:11.Osi index. Osi had the Patriots, who put the Giants in at two and then

:46:12. > :46:16.went Cowboys and Raiders and then Seahawks. Let's see how he changed

:46:17. > :46:20.it going into the playoffs. He brought a plan to end. Steelers are

:46:21. > :46:26.up at four, Cowboys are in there as well. You drop the Seahawks and drop

:46:27. > :46:31.the Raiders out. The Seahawks are fighting each other. The Raiders

:46:32. > :46:36.with quarterback situation, they cannot be in my top five. I have the

:46:37. > :46:46.Steelers they have a really good offense. I like him in the playoffs.

:46:47. > :46:53.Let's look at Jason's index. You haven't changed yours as often.

:46:54. > :46:57.Patriots, Cowboys, Raiders, Giants, Steelers. That was it two weeks ago

:46:58. > :47:01.and you also dropped the Raiders completely out of it. You bumped the

:47:02. > :47:05.Steelers and the Giants up and you have brought the Chief said. I

:47:06. > :47:09.wanted the cheese to be in there. They were going to jump over the

:47:10. > :47:16.Raiders, but because of the injury, to Derek Carr... Did someone talk

:47:17. > :47:22.about the cheese? Are you tell me they are not exciting? They have

:47:23. > :47:27.exciting play. They are not exciting. Number two seeds. Neither

:47:28. > :47:34.of you have that the Packers and there. They won six games in a row

:47:35. > :47:43.that they are not better than any of those five teams. We have spent ages

:47:44. > :47:50.praising Aaron Rodgers. They have a lot of injuries and they give plays

:47:51. > :47:55.downfield. You know if Green Bay win, I'm going to have such fun.

:47:56. > :47:58.Don't forget the NFL Show this Friday at 11.55 BBC One.

:47:59. > :48:00.And don't forget you can catch the playoff action this

:48:01. > :48:04.Starting at 6pm there's coverage of Miami's visit to Pittsburgh

:48:05. > :48:07.followed by the Giants visit to Green Bay.

:48:08. > :48:10.So 32 becomes 12 as we head into the playoffs and of those 32

:48:11. > :48:13.teams, six have so far fired their head coach.

:48:14. > :48:21.See you Friday as we preview the road to Super Bowl 51.

:48:22. > :48:34.The numbers are slashed, 32 down to 12 and that doesn't, at the top four

:48:35. > :48:41.may rest. Eight teams must play, smaller numbers, higher intensity.

:48:42. > :48:46.The wild card is must take to the road could, to the homes of

:48:47. > :48:52.divisional winners. High stakes, high-quality, the giddy heights of

:48:53. > :48:57.football in the New Year. And it is going to go only higher. Only in the

:48:58. > :49:03.NFL. They want me to write and

:49:04. > :49:06.produce - for a boy band. Oh.
