:00:11. > :00:16.Good evening. Welcome to the North West 200. Will come alive to the
:00:16. > :00:26.north coast. It is Northern Ireland's most exhilarating and
:00:26. > :00:52.
:00:52. > :01:02.The North West 200 for 2011 is Alastair Seeley has got this one
:01:02. > :01:07.
:01:07. > :01:14.Well, the North West 200 big race day is tomorrow, and to whet the
:01:14. > :01:18.appetite, we have an action-packed 40 minutes for you here on BBC One.
:01:18. > :01:21.I'll be live in team garages here in the paddock which are filled
:01:21. > :01:28.with some of the most expensive racing machines in the world, and
:01:28. > :01:32.I'll be talking to some priceless guests as well. Steve Parrish and
:01:32. > :01:37.Philip McCallen. I will also be introducing you to some of the
:01:37. > :01:41.North West's top contenders like Guy Martin. Now, he knows as much
:01:41. > :01:49.about boats as he does about bikes, so we took him somewhere where we
:01:49. > :01:52.thought he would feel at home. And find out who we took to check out
:01:52. > :01:57.the golf course. With the best of last night's wheel-to-wheel action,
:01:57. > :02:02.and a debut from one of our best- ever riders, and we will be talking
:02:02. > :02:06.like to the multiple world Superbike champion, Carl Fogarty.
:02:06. > :02:11.But first, the North West wouldn't be the North West without the most
:02:11. > :02:16.famous name in motorcycle road racing, Dunlop. The late brothers
:02:16. > :02:19.Joey and Robert won an amazing 28 times around the circuit. And now
:02:19. > :02:24.Robert's two sons, Michael and William, are two of the main
:02:24. > :02:28.attractions here. We know that they can ride bikes. But what about
:02:28. > :02:38.riding the waves? We thought we would take Michael Dunlop to meet
:02:38. > :03:07.
:03:07. > :03:16.BEACH BOYS: Surfin' USA. You must be getting some sort of drug from
:03:16. > :03:22.it. Yes, once you are up on your feet, it is really enjoyable. It is
:03:22. > :03:29.obviously not like the buzz of the North West 200? There is no buzz
:03:29. > :03:39.like that, but they think it would be as good. I think it is
:03:39. > :03:40.
:03:40. > :03:46.definitely on next sport to come Alastair, you are a world-class
:03:46. > :03:53.surfer. Tell us little about it, and the buzz and the thrill. I am
:03:53. > :03:59.lucky that I live in Portrush. You get good waves on the coast. We get
:03:59. > :04:03.to serve on the biggest waves in the world. I told him how to do it
:04:03. > :04:13.on the beach for five were 10 seconds, and he was out on his feet.
:04:13. > :04:16.
:04:16. > :04:22.He is a natural. I have been riding a Fire blade. We have gone back to
:04:22. > :04:26.the good old ZX 10 that we had last year. It is a change from the
:04:26. > :04:34.Yamaha. But sometimes a change is different, and hopefully we can be
:04:34. > :04:39.better than we had last year. Come North West, I'm ready. We'll see
:04:39. > :04:49.how Alistair gets on on the back of a motorbike a little later. One of
:04:49. > :04:51.
:04:51. > :04:58.the real characters of road racing is Englishman Guy Martin. Mr let's
:04:58. > :05:03.talk to Mr John McGuinness. first time I came here was 1994,
:05:03. > :05:08.and I really missed it. I got invited back, and we're here and
:05:08. > :05:10.really enjoying the North West again. I know you were around today
:05:10. > :05:20.where there is a fantastic exhibition opened by William Dunlop
:05:20. > :05:20.
:05:20. > :05:26.earlier this week of Joey Dunlop memorabilia. It is fabulous. If you
:05:26. > :05:32.ever get the chance to go to Gerry's Bar, and I pulled my own
:05:32. > :05:37.pint of Guinness there. We have a little bit of banter down there.
:05:37. > :05:41.The amount of people coming in and out was incredible. There are so
:05:41. > :05:47.many people going into the Memorial Gardens, and people from Brazil and
:05:47. > :05:54.people from Australia and all over the world. I went to see some of
:05:54. > :05:58.jury's memorabilia. It brought back some great memories. He was my all-
:05:58. > :06:02.time hero. Thank you very much. Good luck tomorrow, I know you'll
:06:02. > :06:08.be as competitive as ever. One of the real characters of motorcycle
:06:08. > :06:12.road racing is Englishman Guy Martin. You may have seen him on
:06:12. > :06:15.his BBC TV series last year, The Boat That Guy Built. As well as a
:06:15. > :06:25.top bike racer, he's a fan of all things engineering so we knew
:06:25. > :06:49.
:06:49. > :06:59.exactly where to take him - Look at this! It looked like he was
:06:59. > :07:01.
:07:02. > :07:06.right up your street in there. it was. The building, it did take
:07:06. > :07:11.us long to build this as it took to build the Titanic. Three years. I
:07:11. > :07:16.only found that out. It has the longest single span escalator in
:07:16. > :07:26.the whole of Ireland. And you have re-enacted a whole lot of the bits
:07:26. > :07:29.
:07:29. > :07:32.You have always got to offer a little incentive now, it can't be
:07:32. > :07:38.done in monetary terms, it has to be summoning a stimulates them and
:07:38. > :07:48.get them interested. They have thoroughly enjoyed their experience,
:07:48. > :07:56.I think. This was the place to get your big ship built. And Hector
:07:56. > :08:02.would have you believe he worked on the Titanic, probably. I thoroughly
:08:02. > :08:12.enjoyed it. It was well worth taking a day off work. We always
:08:12. > :08:16.
:08:16. > :08:21.get a good bit of fun out of A Would it be the biggest spectator
:08:21. > :08:29.event in Northern Ireland? How do you fancy him? I think he'll be
:08:29. > :08:39.good. I have lap records, but I have not won a race. It would be
:08:39. > :08:40.
:08:40. > :08:50.nice. It would be nice if we could win it, and we can win it. I am not
:08:50. > :08:54.
:08:54. > :08:56.going out there to be second. A win One of Guy Martin's teammates is
:08:56. > :09:03.the red-hot North West 200 favourite. Alistair Seeley from
:09:03. > :09:08.Carrickfergus believes he can win all five races tomorrow. He is a
:09:08. > :09:18.big fan of his golf, and we thought that with the Irish Open taking
:09:18. > :09:57.
:09:57. > :10:01.place, it would be the first -- the Alastair Seeley says he is going to
:10:01. > :10:05.beat my record this weekend, but I am going to beat him here on the
:10:05. > :10:15.golf course. He did say I could choose the course, and I have got a
:10:15. > :10:28.
:10:28. > :10:34.Alastair, this is a big week for you. Definitely. I enjoy coming to
:10:34. > :10:40.the North West every year. I have a bike I feel the most comfortable on.
:10:40. > :10:44.It is so fast and enjoyable. We will go as fast as we can. What
:10:44. > :10:54.about Saturday? Very going to tow them around, or will you just pull
:10:54. > :10:54.
:10:54. > :10:59.the finger out? It will be nice to pull their finger out, so it is
:10:59. > :11:06.going to be mentally fatiguing, but by the time it comes to the end
:11:06. > :11:14.race, hopefully we can do the business. We have a game to finish.
:11:14. > :11:24.Yes. We are now on the final hole, and Michael might equal my record
:11:24. > :11:24.
:11:25. > :11:32.this year, but he won't beat me They are both useless at golf!
:11:32. > :11:38.Philip McCallen, the only rider to win five races at one North West
:11:38. > :11:41.200. Well, let's see how Alistair got on in the first race of this
:11:41. > :11:47.year's North West 200, last night's Superstock class. On commentary,
:11:47. > :11:54.Richard Nichols and Steve Parrish. Superstock on the grid, and we are
:11:54. > :11:59.ready for six laps of the nine-mile course. And we are away! They are
:11:59. > :12:04.scrambling for grip there. It is dry on this section. Everyone is on
:12:04. > :12:08.wet tyres. And they sort of need to be, although the sun is shining at
:12:08. > :12:12.the end of a rainy afternoon, you can see the damp patches on the
:12:12. > :12:19.road. There will be problems for these riders all round this circuit.
:12:19. > :12:23.You can see how quickly we go down to York Road corner. There is no
:12:23. > :12:33.choice but to go for wet tyres, because around the back into the
:12:33. > :12:38.
:12:38. > :12:48.circuit, it is going to be a lot Here comes the second wave now.
:12:48. > :12:50.
:12:50. > :12:56.Some people didn't qualify it well on Tuesday. In that group, there is
:12:56. > :13:06.Guy Martin and Michael Johnson, all starting in the second wave. 180
:13:06. > :13:09.
:13:09. > :13:19.miles an hour in wet conditions. Look who his hit the front. Look at
:13:19. > :13:19.
:13:19. > :13:27.the speed he is running at, that is very, very impressive. It is
:13:27. > :13:35.Alastair Seeley out in front. He didn't quite get the start. There
:13:35. > :13:41.are a lot of people betting on him. Look at that! Nice and easy,
:13:41. > :13:49.slipping into the university. Look how dark those clouds are, they
:13:49. > :13:55.could be some more rain about. It is Alastair Seeley, a number 34,
:13:55. > :14:01.Ryan Farquhar, Bruce Anstey as they come round the roundabout. He Bruce
:14:01. > :14:10.Anstey made a good start, you never know what to expect with him.
:14:10. > :14:16.there in the pack at the moment. Look at the speed their! Alastair
:14:16. > :14:21.Seeley was quick on that Suzuki. Alastair Seeley is very sharp, he
:14:21. > :14:28.will be revelling in these conditions. It is fairly wet, they
:14:28. > :14:36.didn't want in between weather. Standing water in a couple of
:14:36. > :14:43.places there. You got to carry speed through here and get on with
:14:43. > :14:53.it. That is exactly what we saw. We can also see that Alastair Seeley
:14:53. > :14:59.
:14:59. > :15:05.has managed it. Check out the speed. Almost 180. That is Michael Dunlop
:15:05. > :15:15.running a wide, he has gone a little bit too deep. Some place
:15:15. > :15:23.
:15:23. > :15:29.swapping going on. It is Alastair Seeley's day. Swooping around the
:15:30. > :15:39.coast road now. This part of the track is the dry section now. This
:15:40. > :15:42.
:15:42. > :15:49.is Cameron Donald. Again, a look at the speed. That is very impressive.
:15:49. > :15:59.Bruce Anstey is under all sorts of pressure there. He was almost out
:15:59. > :16:03.
:16:03. > :16:09.of the seat. He needs all that traction control. Ryan Farquhar has
:16:09. > :16:17.put his head down looking for Alastair Seeley. William McDonald
:16:17. > :16:21.shaking his head there, he is not happy. Cameron Donald looking for
:16:21. > :16:29.the slip streams. These are identical machines and they have
:16:29. > :16:37.already caught number for her, John Guinness. I had my money on John
:16:37. > :16:47.McGuinness, his body language is very aggressive. Look at Michael
:16:47. > :16:51.
:16:51. > :17:01.Rutter. Look at the wiggle their, that is those treaded tyres. It is
:17:01. > :17:03.
:17:03. > :17:13.all over the brisk and state. -- all over for Bruce Anstey. That is
:17:13. > :17:14.
:17:14. > :17:24.Ryan Farquhar at the front of the bunch. One minute he is in the
:17:24. > :17:25.
:17:25. > :17:35.needed this group, the next he is at the back. The track is trying
:17:35. > :17:45.quite a bit. It is a Johnson. Oh, that was very impressive staff.
:17:45. > :17:51.Slow in and fast out. It is hard to believe this circuit is so wet as
:17:51. > :17:55.we see the shadows from the sun. Look at Lee Johnson! Very late on
:17:55. > :18:05.the brakes. You can see him at getting it back but he has gathered
:18:05. > :18:17.
:18:17. > :18:23.it all up, so nicely done from him. This man serenely sweeping around
:18:23. > :18:31.the track. It is it? Alastair Seeley, the man who won the only
:18:31. > :18:39.race last year. We haven't seen him a virtually since the beginning of
:18:39. > :18:49.the race. Superb stuff, 22 seconds out in front. What is happening
:18:49. > :18:49.
:18:49. > :18:59.behind him? Lee Johnson takes second place. Cameron Donald just.
:18:59. > :19:10.
:19:10. > :19:17.That was close enough. There is the Number 34 it takes his six North
:19:17. > :19:21.West went. Philip McCallen will be quaking in his boots.
:19:21. > :19:25.This is the winning machine, complete with the winning the
:19:25. > :19:32.laurels and of course with the winning rider. How satisfying it
:19:32. > :19:36.was that victory? It was good and obviously I enjoyed it. It was good
:19:36. > :19:40.to get a winner so early in the week. The race went to plan and I
:19:40. > :19:45.managed to get to the fund pretty early and write my own race. I got
:19:45. > :19:52.a bit of a gap and that got me far enough in front not to get any
:19:52. > :19:55.slipstream so I just watched my boards and a mink is a good
:19:55. > :19:58.improvement and I'll probably use it again tomorrow. Great
:19:58. > :20:06.celebrations in the winner's enclosure, the question is, can you
:20:06. > :20:10.go through tomorrow, can you win or five races? I will try my best, it
:20:10. > :20:14.is a hard feet to do but if I roll- out of the right side of bed and
:20:14. > :20:20.everything goes to plan, it is not impossible. I will try my best and
:20:20. > :20:23.give it everything. Philip McCallen is missing, by the way? I will try
:20:23. > :20:28.and he will be the first to congratulate me if I do but a lot
:20:29. > :20:36.of things have to be right. I have great machinery underneath me, a
:20:36. > :20:41.solid day on Tuesday. It is just a matter of getting a good sleep
:20:41. > :20:49.tonight, a good breakfast in the morning and come out of the traps
:20:49. > :20:55.with guns blazing. We will let you get to sleep for all the help you
:20:55. > :21:02.need. It is 20 years since up McKellen won his five titles. A
:21:03. > :21:09.year later, one of the most successful riders had a victory
:21:09. > :21:19.here in the NatWest 200 after years of trying.
:21:19. > :21:34.
:21:34. > :21:41.-- North West 200. With me is the man himself, back
:21:41. > :21:47.after 19 years. Carl Fogarty, how good is it to be here? It is great,
:21:47. > :21:51.I cannot believe it has been so long it. To get that when in 1993
:21:51. > :21:58.was one of the highlights of my career. A special time to be racing
:21:58. > :22:03.here. The two key a few years to get that elusive victory? Yes,
:22:04. > :22:09.became the previous three years on the Honda and we had some problems,
:22:09. > :22:19.usually fuel problems. I thought I will never get the win here and
:22:19. > :22:24.then the year after we got the two winds and went on to short success.
:22:24. > :22:32.You wore a lucky green vest then which means a lot to you in your
:22:32. > :22:38.career now? Someone says, you need to wear a green vest or something
:22:38. > :22:48.green so I wore a green vest and I won both races. I kept the best on
:22:48. > :22:52.in Spain and one at the races there. It was cut from my body I had the
:22:52. > :22:56.big crash in Philippi. How much are you looking forward to getting out
:22:56. > :23:00.tomorrow on a bike again doing laps of the circuit? Really looking
:23:00. > :23:05.forward to it, I just have to remember where the new chicanes are.
:23:05. > :23:09.I've only done half a lap one way and have a lap the other but I am
:23:09. > :23:17.looking forward to getting out there will stop it should be great
:23:17. > :23:23.fun. Great to see you here, always a pleasure. One man that you know
:23:23. > :23:28.very well, he decided to make his debut in the North West 200, former
:23:28. > :23:34.motoGP starts Jeremy McWilliams, at the age of 48. We got multiple
:23:34. > :23:44.Superbike winner St Peter to show him around.
:23:44. > :23:51.
:23:51. > :23:59.-- Steve Plater. It's simple enough here, for the
:23:59. > :24:08.first part anyway. Everybody seems to hit that curb on the way out.
:24:08. > :24:15.You can pass on the inside. How do you work out every game marker?
:24:15. > :24:25.the right-hand side, it is simple to see because it is quite narrow.
:24:25. > :24:33.
:24:33. > :24:43.It is going to be a flat to it. looks really stop, start. Look how
:24:43. > :24:48.
:24:48. > :24:52.negative it goes here. Can you see that Paul? Yes, then you in. It is
:24:52. > :25:00.something quite new to me but I am looking forward to it, looking
:25:00. > :25:08.forward to the technical section on the coast road. There is quite a
:25:08. > :25:14.bit of learning. How did Jeremy the fair in his very
:25:14. > :25:21.first of West 200 race, he was riding in these familiar colours
:25:21. > :25:31.for the Ryan Farquhar KMR team. Here is the best of the action.
:25:31. > :25:31.
:25:31. > :25:38.Adrian Archibald on a pole position. Head down, good start. Ryan
:25:39. > :25:43.Farquhar closing in already. The course is still not perfect.
:25:43. > :25:53.can see the damp patches of now as they headed down towards their hair
:25:53. > :26:00.
:26:00. > :26:10.in. You can see the track is very wet on the inside. This is the
:26:10. > :26:12.
:26:12. > :26:22.second wave of the grid. That was a journey McWilliams. This is Adrian
:26:22. > :26:30.
:26:30. > :26:36.Archibald. Up through comes number five, Michael Rutter. Oh, Michael
:26:36. > :26:46.butter is on the right hand side of him. It is a breakdown into the
:26:46. > :26:46.
:26:47. > :26:54.You could see him going right the way down through the gears there,
:26:54. > :27:00.right from flat-out down to walking pace, almost. Ryan Farquhar has an
:27:00. > :27:06.intermediate front and a dry rear tyre. It is not a very dry here as
:27:06. > :27:14.we ride With Jeremy McWilliams. You do need slipstream. They are on the
:27:14. > :27:24.break going into the chicane. You can see the slipstream at work.
:27:24. > :27:26.
:27:26. > :27:31.Those twin cylinders grumbling Now it is the long fast run down.
:27:31. > :27:35.Look at Ryan Farquhar, he is snaking everywhere. Grim and
:27:35. > :27:42.determined is the look on his face as Adrian Archibald just chop
:27:42. > :27:52.saying. Under the bridge, turning right, and then a short circuit
:27:52. > :27:55.
:27:55. > :28:01.over the coast road. This part is McWilliams has gone for the inside.
:28:01. > :28:08.Just goes floating through there. Ryan Farquhar with his head down,
:28:08. > :28:11.but Williams is in second place. Looking at the conditions, I do
:28:11. > :28:19.think Ryan Farquhar has gone for the right option, intermediate
:28:20. > :28:27.front and dry rear. And Adrian Raja bowled his writing and alongside,
:28:27. > :28:34.they can almost read the dials on each other's machines. On board
:28:34. > :28:42.with McWilliams later on the break. If you run off, it is really tricky.
:28:42. > :28:49.Ryan Farquhar has a commanding lead, it looks like about three seconds.
:28:49. > :28:53.The godfather of Supertwins making his mark very clear here. Michael
:28:53. > :29:03.Rutter again haven't seen his bike until he got out here, but I think
:29:03. > :29:04.
:29:04. > :29:08.Michael Rutter comes out behind him to get in his slipstream and try
:29:08. > :29:18.and get a toe. Ryan Farquhar has already thinking about his break
:29:18. > :29:19.
:29:19. > :29:29.for the Metropole. He uses the inside line to good extent. You can
:29:29. > :29:33.see them scrapping for grip. It is Ryan Farquhar, McWilliams, Adrian
:29:34. > :29:37.Archibald. We weren't really expecting this on the first
:29:37. > :29:47.Supertwins at the North West, the first Thursday night racing and it
:29:47. > :29:47.
:29:47. > :29:55.is red hot. All of the Kawasaki's, not expensive bikes to build. What
:29:55. > :30:00.racing this is producing. -- all of the Kawasakis. He doesn't want to
:30:00. > :30:04.be back there. He wants to join the fun at the front. McWilliams there
:30:04. > :30:10.slotting into second position a round that corner. It doesn't seem
:30:10. > :30:20.to be drying much on this section, in the shelter. Ian Lougher is
:30:20. > :30:22.
:30:22. > :30:26.battling his way through. You can hear that different noise. There is
:30:26. > :30:32.McWilliams looking back from Adrian Archibald. You can see the
:30:32. > :30:39.helicopter trying to keep up with them in the background. That is 100
:30:39. > :30:44.horse power on the brakes. How close to you like that? Impressive.
:30:44. > :30:54.Can he stop for the turn? He can? Ryan Farquhar is still comfortable
:30:54. > :30:54.
:30:54. > :31:02.up the front, no pressure. They are all on the care MA machines, the
:31:02. > :31:06.bikes built by Ryan Farquhar. They are using the dry bit of the road
:31:06. > :31:13.and the slipstream, and streaking past. Michael Rutter goes with him,
:31:13. > :31:19.trying to get there and going as well. You can see that bike moving
:31:19. > :31:25.around a lot, that heavily traded front tyre doing the job.
:31:25. > :31:33.McWilliams, I reckon he is closing him down a little bit. This isn't
:31:33. > :31:41.over yet. This is so close, and we are still a yards away from the
:31:41. > :31:47.start/finish line as we get this sorted out. Adrian Archibald 4th,
:31:47. > :31:51.James McWilliams 5th. Ryan Farquhar will be very pleased about this.
:31:51. > :31:55.These are the worst conditions you could have, wet patches and dry
:31:55. > :32:01.patches, overworking the tyres in the dry and not enough grip in the
:32:01. > :32:05.wet. Ryan Farquhar hasn't put a foot wrong, and he is very pleased
:32:06. > :32:15.with that. If he looks behind him, he will be even happier. What a
:32:16. > :32:20.
:32:20. > :32:25.podium for him. Look at that. Care An unforgettable day for the
:32:25. > :32:29.Kawasaki team. Filling the podium, and two of those men are with me.
:32:29. > :32:36.How much did you enjoy watching that back again? That is the first
:32:36. > :32:43.time I have seen it, pretty exciting stuff. I think we did the
:32:43. > :32:48.team proud, and did a good job when we came out here. Ryan, is that
:32:48. > :32:55.your best-ever day motorcycling? have to say it is. It is the one
:32:55. > :32:59.thing to win the North West 200, but to have two other riders riding
:32:59. > :33:05.bikes for you, and both of them on the podium, that is something very
:33:05. > :33:13.special. Jeremy, I imagine it is a decision you certainly don't regret.
:33:13. > :33:18.How did you enjoy the overall North West 200 experience? It is bringing
:33:18. > :33:24.a smile out on my face. It is something I always wanted to do,
:33:24. > :33:28.and I never thought I would get another chance. I have to say that
:33:28. > :33:35.yesterday it was one of those special days. And you will be back?
:33:35. > :33:39.That depends if he wants me back, not. It is not the start of my road
:33:39. > :33:44.racing career or anything, but to ride the North West is something I
:33:44. > :33:48.wanted to do, and to finish on the podium as a dream come true. I
:33:48. > :33:53.think it was the right choice going on a 650. It is a pretty scary
:33:53. > :33:57.circuit, and learning at this level it is right. Thanks to the team and
:33:57. > :34:03.all the effort everybody has put in, and to the fans who came along and
:34:04. > :34:09.gave us the support. The fans want you back again, and Ryan, you sound
:34:09. > :34:18.tired, but you will be up for tomorrow? I am looking forward to
:34:18. > :34:22.riding Superbike tomorrow. I am polling for the Superstock, so
:34:22. > :34:27.hopefully I can give Alastair Seeley more of a run than the way
:34:27. > :34:31.it worked out yesterday. Good luck. Pressure is off after that great,
:34:31. > :34:35.great day. Thank you very much, gentlemen. Earlier in the programme,
:34:35. > :34:40.we saw how Michael Dunlop got on surfing with Alastair Mennie. Well,
:34:40. > :34:50.he wanted to her say that what it was like on a bike rather than a
:34:50. > :35:00.
:35:00. > :35:09.wave. I have been kind of worrying Look at the speed, they are doing
:35:09. > :35:17.I can tell you, the front of the bike will be so light with that
:35:18. > :35:25.weight on the back. Just looking around, look at those eyes. Well, I
:35:25. > :35:29.would not want to be doing that. Here they come back, and Michael
:35:29. > :35:39.Dunlop is still with us. They were going to strap him on, but he has
:35:39. > :35:46.
:35:46. > :35:55.clung on. Just look at his size! Man, this man is... There were
:35:55. > :36:00.wheelies and all! I am speechless... And then Peter Bryan McCormick for
:36:00. > :36:06.the loan of the leathers for Alastair Mennie. I'm here with
:36:06. > :36:11.Steve Parrish. -- thank you to Brian McCormick. I wouldn't want to
:36:11. > :36:15.get on the back of that. This week, a record has gone, the fastest ever
:36:15. > :36:21.speed recorded at the North West 200, Martin Jessop at 208 mph
:36:21. > :36:28.through the speed trap. And they don't know if he has done yet, the
:36:28. > :36:33.wind was behind him, but no slipstream, and he reckons he can
:36:33. > :36:37.go faster yet. The weather forecast is favourable for tomorrow. Could
:36:37. > :36:47.be used this be one of the most competitive North West 200s we have
:36:47. > :36:54.seen? I think so. He has got five wins now, and could go away with 10.
:36:54. > :36:59.The 600 race should be good, the Superbikes. It should be absolutely
:36:59. > :37:03.cracking out there. It will be some spectacle. Am looking forward to it.
:37:03. > :37:09.Looking forward to hearing Ewen the commentary box tomorrow. We have
:37:09. > :37:19.every angle covered for you tomorrow. Join us on the BBC Sport
:37:19. > :37:31.
:37:31. > :37:34.Now at the start of the programme we said the North West wouldn't be
:37:34. > :37:38.the North West without the name of Dunlop. Well, take a little look at
:37:38. > :37:45.this bit of footage we've dug out of the archive. This was Joey's
:37:45. > :37:50.original racing transit van back in the 1970s. He used to take this van
:37:50. > :37:55.to races with his bike and his family in the back of it, and the
:37:55. > :37:59.family used to sleep in it as well. It is not as iconic as the famous
:37:59. > :38:02.yellow helmet, but take a look. And here it is. Well, not quite the
:38:02. > :38:06.original, but a very special replica which has been lovingly
:38:06. > :38:11.restored. And look who we have in the back, Philip McCallen with that
:38:12. > :38:18.famous yellow helmet. And think you have found your next victim to take
:38:18. > :38:21.back out on the waves Alastair Mennie! Steve Parrish is going to
:38:21. > :38:26.drive us. We are ready to rumble tomorrow morning, and we look
