:00:53. > :01:00.Welcome back to a gorgeously hot day in Rio. We are heading into the late
:01:01. > :01:05.afternoon here in Brazil and into the evening. Good crowds Inbee Park.
:01:06. > :01:10.Sadly, in most stadiums, that is not the case. Here in the velodrome
:01:11. > :01:15.there is such a strong British presence, every time a rider goes
:01:16. > :01:20.out onto the track, there is a huge roar. It is like competing in a home
:01:21. > :01:31.games. Laura Trott and Mark Cavendish are the main people we are
:01:32. > :01:33.concentrating on. Here are the headlines on day ten.
:01:34. > :01:36.Charlotte Dujardin and the wonderful Valegro put on a sublime displayed
:01:37. > :01:41.to retain their individual dressage title. That is the third gold for
:01:42. > :01:43.Charlotte Dujardin and she becomes the first British woman to
:01:44. > :01:51.successfully defend an individual Olympic title.
:01:52. > :01:55.There was a brilliant bronze for Sophie Hitchon, the first ever
:01:56. > :02:02.Olympic medal in the hammer for a British woman. She broke her own
:02:03. > :02:09.record with a throw of 74.54 metres and was jumping for joy afterwards.
:02:10. > :02:13.British badminton doubles pair Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge
:02:14. > :02:17.reached the semifinals of the men's doubles. They upset the Japanese
:02:18. > :02:25.world number eight today. A medal is now in their grasp.
:02:26. > :02:30.So, in the velodrome here, I am delighted to say I am joined by
:02:31. > :02:37.double Olympic champion Joanna Rowsell-Shand who was part of the
:02:38. > :02:44.team pursuit who defended their title. You had already done the team
:02:45. > :02:49.title. And Sir Chris Hoy, winner of six Olympic gold medal is himself.
:02:50. > :02:58.So, Laura Trott first of all, your team-mate, Joe. She is in brilliant
:02:59. > :03:02.form. She was second in the Omnium scratch race but another rider
:03:03. > :03:07.gained a lap so you could say she won. She led out the sprint and no
:03:08. > :03:14.one could get close to her at the end of that scratch race. That is a
:03:15. > :03:17.good indicator of form to come. You'll always feel a bit rough after
:03:18. > :03:21.three and team pursuits and world record rides but she had an easy day
:03:22. > :03:33.to recover from that. A bit of a lion when the rest of us were
:03:34. > :03:36.enjoying ourselves. A great first event for her. -- a bit of a lie in.
:03:37. > :03:42.Mark Cavendish has one event left tonight. The main one, the points
:03:43. > :03:48.race. He is in a great position. He is confident on the bike. I think he
:03:49. > :03:54.can do it. I am positive about it. We will keep our fingers crossed and
:03:55. > :03:58.give him a big cheer. The only thing missing for him is an Olympic medal.
:03:59. > :04:03.He has done so well on the Tour de France. This matters for him. He
:04:04. > :04:07.does not have to do this. It shows how much he cares about the Olympic
:04:08. > :04:15.Games. And with Bradley coming onto the track, it has given the team a
:04:16. > :04:18.boost. I think the whole of Britain is behind him. It is such a strong
:04:19. > :04:21.British cycling team and the women get ever stronger but Laura Trott is
:04:22. > :04:27.leading the way because she is the first to win three gold medals. She
:04:28. > :04:31.could be on for a fourth hair. She sprang to prominence during London
:04:32. > :04:37.2012. The thing I love the most is that
:04:38. > :04:41.kind of adrenaline. When I get on my bike, it is the weirdest feeling.
:04:42. > :04:46.The minute I'm sat there with my helmet on, that is it, I am ready.
:04:47. > :04:51.People get scared by the Beatles, the five, four, three, two, one
:04:52. > :05:00.countdown. I love it because I know this is the race now. It is just me
:05:01. > :05:05.and my bike. I never believed I would go to 2012. It was always you
:05:06. > :05:09.will go to Rio for the experience and target Tokyo for the gold medal.
:05:10. > :05:13.For everything happened so fast for me is incredible. I felt I was won
:05:14. > :05:18.this amazing train and it was getting quicker and quicker and all
:05:19. > :05:23.of a sudden I am the Olympic Games. My achievement personally blew me
:05:24. > :05:27.away. The team pursuit was my main target. We worked so hard. We lived
:05:28. > :05:34.each other's pockets for that year and a half I was on the team. I felt
:05:35. > :05:40.those are my girls and we have done it and we have achieved this massive
:05:41. > :05:46.thing. Great Britain win the Olympic title! With the scratch race, I felt
:05:47. > :05:51.like I had messed it up. I went and found my dad and he said, it doesn't
:05:52. > :05:55.matter, just do what I know I can do. He knew the 500 was my best
:05:56. > :06:01.event. When I crossed the finish line and I looked up and I saw I had
:06:02. > :06:06.won the 500 as Sarah Hammer had come forth, I did not know what to think.
:06:07. > :06:11.I was a double Olympic champion! I was numb, I could not believe it had
:06:12. > :06:16.happened to me. It was those two years after the Games that I found
:06:17. > :06:21.difficult, to be honest. Just having that change, being in a golden era
:06:22. > :06:26.of London 2012 to this, having to put in the hard work against system,
:06:27. > :06:28.it was difficult and one that I struggled with. But after two years,
:06:29. > :06:44.the build-up starts again and used out to have
:06:45. > :06:47.Olympic fever again. It is a nice thing and used at to see new kit and
:06:48. > :06:50.new team members and Duke start to get an idea of who the Olympic team
:06:51. > :06:53.will be. Laura Trott crosses the line as world champion! It is an
:06:54. > :06:56.Olympic year. The World Championships were incredible. I got
:06:57. > :07:00.the gold medal in the Omnium. It felt like a massive achievement.
:07:01. > :07:13.Because I had finished silver three years in a row, I felt it was a long
:07:14. > :07:19.time coming. Gold for Jason Kenny! Before London no one knew about me
:07:20. > :07:24.and Jason. We have been engaged since 2014. It is so nice as well
:07:25. > :07:28.that he can be there. I know a lot of couples will say it is
:07:29. > :07:34.distracting but it is not. He gets it. He knows how I am feeling and he
:07:35. > :07:38.is such a huge support for me. Four weeks is a long time not to have him
:07:39. > :07:48.there. It is a long time not to have my dogs have there! To not have
:07:49. > :07:51.Jason there, I would not enjoy it. The wonderful Laura Trott. She has
:07:52. > :07:54.such a bubbly personality. Reportedly tonight, she is a
:07:55. > :08:02.supersonic cyclist. You will see her in the Olympic deceit. At about
:08:03. > :08:07.9:32pm, that is the points race for the men's Omnium. That will decide
:08:08. > :08:20.whether Mark Cavendish will win an Olympic medal and could it be gold?
:08:21. > :08:27.I love the elimination race. That is the third event in the win in's
:08:28. > :08:31.omnium. Let's talk about Laura Trott. She was talking about her
:08:32. > :08:38.relationship with Jason. They are due to get married soon. Presumably
:08:39. > :08:43.she has had no time to plan but? We train six days a week. There are a
:08:44. > :08:48.lot of hours on the bike and the gym. All based in Manchester
:08:49. > :08:53.together. Lots of training camps in places like Spain. I don't how she
:08:54. > :08:58.fits it in but she is obviously very organised. I read that she started
:08:59. > :09:03.cycling because her mum started cycling to lose weight and lost
:09:04. > :09:05.something like five stone? I think they had gone to Disney World or
:09:06. > :09:07.something and her mum could not go on a ride because she was overweight
:09:08. > :09:22.and that spurred her on to lose weight. She joined a
:09:23. > :09:25.cycling club and then the rest of the family got involved. Her sister
:09:26. > :09:28.has been a cyclist as well. And her dad is a keen cyclist. They are all
:09:29. > :09:35.very much a cycling family. Becky James has got sisters who cycle. Her
:09:36. > :09:39.sister is in the Paralympic team. Cycling all around. Was your family
:09:40. > :09:44.a cycling family? My dad liked to tinker with bikes. He reckons he
:09:45. > :09:50.invented BMX but he did not really. He liked to have fun on jobs. With
:09:51. > :09:53.the omnium you have to be a master of so many different skills and you
:09:54. > :10:03.would assume that this would be Laura's favourite. I get about
:10:04. > :10:08.favourite but it is not so easy to enjoy. I think she would enjoy the
:10:09. > :10:14.elimination race more. In terms of what she's good at, even Laura on
:10:15. > :10:18.bad day would be up there. She is very talented at the pursuit. The
:10:19. > :10:25.team pursuit is different to the individual pursuit. We spend most of
:10:26. > :10:29.our time training on the low frame bike. It can be quite alien for
:10:30. > :10:36.people used to being an upright bikes. All of that work we put in
:10:37. > :10:41.for deceit will pay dividends in the team pursuit. We have got a lot of
:10:42. > :10:47.support for British fans but also from home as well. What is this you
:10:48. > :10:51.have brought in? This is a flag made by British cycling with messages
:10:52. > :10:55.from people at home giving our support. There are a few general
:10:56. > :11:00.messages for the team and also some individual messages. There is one
:11:01. > :11:06.from my old cycling club saying good luck, Jo, out in Rio. We got was
:11:07. > :11:09.ended with this when we went to our holding camp four weeks ago. That
:11:10. > :11:14.was a nice surprise to see the messages from back home of support.
:11:15. > :11:20.Chris loves his social media. I saw Laura Trott put a picture on social
:11:21. > :11:27.media with her gold medal under the pillow. I slept with mine in my bed
:11:28. > :11:32.as well. It is the safest place to keep it. You do not want to leave it
:11:33. > :11:38.anywhere. You want to keep hold of it, keep it safe and you gradually
:11:39. > :11:42.relax. I have still got it. I have not left it at home yet. I will
:11:43. > :11:49.gradually start not wearing it every day. I'm surprised you have not got
:11:50. > :11:55.it on! Down in the pit, Jill Douglas does AIDS Burling job. She has just
:11:56. > :12:04.caught up with Anna Meares -- she does a sterling job.
:12:05. > :12:09.Anna, you have achieved so much on the track and you are now bowing out
:12:10. > :12:15.at this stage, how does it feel? To be honest, I feel a bit heavy.
:12:16. > :12:19.Sometimes in life you do not get that fairy tale ending. I'm really
:12:20. > :12:24.proud of what I have achieved. I have been really proud for 22 years
:12:25. > :12:29.to wear the green and gold of my country, race hard and race
:12:30. > :12:37.aggressive, and pose a strong figure for women and girls to look up to.
:12:38. > :12:42.It is really tough. But as heavy as I feel, I still feel very proud. I
:12:43. > :12:48.knew the Sprint would be difficult. I did not think I would be that far
:12:49. > :12:53.out of the competition. My best chance was in the clearing. It is a
:12:54. > :12:57.big question and no decision to be made quickly, will we see you on the
:12:58. > :13:02.track again? You have a Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in a couple
:13:03. > :13:07.of years' time, and I know the whole of Australia and the Commonwealth
:13:08. > :13:10.would love to see you in action. Thank you. Maybe that is the ferry
:13:11. > :13:16.tale, going out in my home state where it all started. I promised I
:13:17. > :13:21.would give myself some time, race, be proud of my efforts, hold my head
:13:22. > :13:28.high and then think about it afterwards. I want to go and think
:13:29. > :13:33.about my family. I will make a statement in that regard. Thank you
:13:34. > :13:39.very much indeed. Anna Meares who has been such a huge
:13:40. > :13:45.figure in cycling. She was a big rival of Victoria Pendleton. When
:13:46. > :13:49.you started in cycling, was she is someone you looked up to? At the
:13:50. > :13:54.time of the Athens games I watched people like Chris and she was the
:13:55. > :13:59.Olympic champion so she was always a figure in the world of cycling back
:14:00. > :14:05.when I started. It is amazing how long her career has been and she is
:14:06. > :14:11.still racing. It shows how high the standard is in winning's sprinting
:14:12. > :14:20.is that a rider of her calibre has come tenth. It is great for Team GB
:14:21. > :14:25.because two our riders are up there. Varies Anna Meares now with Victoria
:14:26. > :14:29.Pendleton. Maybe when all is said and done, when the rivalry is over,
:14:30. > :14:33.you can actually be friends. I remember Martina Navratilova said
:14:34. > :14:36.about Chris Evatt, they were so competitive while playing that they
:14:37. > :14:38.could never be friends, but when they stopped they were the best of
:14:39. > :14:49.friends. You understand that you've gone
:14:50. > :14:53.through the same thing and you almost measure yourself against that
:14:54. > :15:00.person, it means that much to you. Good to see them talking their and
:15:01. > :15:03.not fighting! Indeed! As are as Becky James and Katy Marchant are
:15:04. > :15:10.concerned, how do you think they are? Do you think we could see them
:15:11. > :15:16.head to head for the gold medal in the spring? Certainly potentially.
:15:17. > :15:29.Becky broke the Olympic record and Magda -- Katy went close. They both
:15:30. > :15:34.got to their next round in their back home resting the village. Do
:15:35. > :15:42.you get broader at the village? Not once the racing starts. Literally
:15:43. > :15:46.every second, every minute counts. They will be glad they have the
:15:47. > :15:52.whole afternoon to recover and get themselves ready for tomorrow. Then
:15:53. > :15:57.you've got five or six days on the trot and event of the event, any
:15:58. > :15:59.time at all is golden. We will be joining the individual pursuit
:16:00. > :16:01.shortly. Laura Trott is actually last to go. We will show you some
:16:02. > :16:10.more of an ears. Both of them in tears. You would
:16:11. > :16:14.think the lure of a home, wealth games would be too strong not to go
:16:15. > :16:22.on from that and finish on the Gold Coast? I think for her that would be
:16:23. > :16:26.a big motivator but she has to have the decide how big a motivator it
:16:27. > :16:33.is? Motivation is one thing that the other is your body, will it keep
:16:34. > :16:36.going, punishing itself day in day out? You're always pushing yourself
:16:37. > :16:40.and being careful of what you eat, trying hard not to get ill. The
:16:41. > :16:44.whole lifestyle can be very enjoyable but also very punishing on
:16:45. > :16:49.your body. One thing is motivation and the other is how much you can
:16:50. > :16:56.keep physically doing it. I was thinking about this with Andy Murray
:16:57. > :17:04.in the tennis last night, as that -- are there ice parts available for
:17:05. > :17:08.the athletes? The site listed a lot of research into it and one of our
:17:09. > :17:14.sports scientists in our support team did his Ph.D. On it and when
:17:15. > :17:24.there is high impact and there could be swelling it is a beneficial
:17:25. > :17:27.thing, but the swelling is an important part of adaptation and
:17:28. > :17:36.recovery, so sometimes you don't want to stop that. Oh! Andy Murray
:17:37. > :17:42.loves the ice bath. We will shortly be showing you live cycling, and
:17:43. > :17:50.there is beach volleyball live on BBC Four. Also online right now,
:17:51. > :17:55.table tennis, the men's team semifinal, Japan against Germany.
:17:56. > :17:58.Fantastic stuff. There's a trick shot you need to look up online as
:17:59. > :18:08.well from the table tennis, it's really good! Also online, diving,
:18:09. > :18:12.the men's 3 million -- three-metre preliminaries, featuring Jack Law
:18:13. > :18:25.and Woodward going for Great Britain. -- Jack Laugher. It's been
:18:26. > :18:32.a very romantic Olympics. A proposal at the Rugby sevens and also a
:18:33. > :18:48.proposal in the diving. She won gold and her boyfriend of six years, she
:18:49. > :18:51.said she can remember much of his speech budgie like the bit where he
:18:52. > :18:55.said he was willing to be bullied by her for life!
:18:56. > :19:04.So I don't know, do you know how Jason Kenney proposed to Laura?
:19:05. > :19:11.Christmas Eve, wasn't it? It was around Christmas. Watching
:19:12. > :19:16.EastEnders! It was cheery, was it? I think she was saying, what have you
:19:17. > :19:23.got me for Christmas and work it out and he gave it her and said you can
:19:24. > :19:29.have it now! Brearley! He's very funny in his interviews, very
:19:30. > :19:36.deadpan. -- really! What news from down there? Talking about ice baths,
:19:37. > :19:41.we could do with some ice bath down here in the mixed zone, very hot,
:19:42. > :19:53.and very emotional. I was just welling up watching that proposal,
:19:54. > :20:00.but the tears and emotions from Anna Meares, bowing out after such a
:20:01. > :20:06.career. We've been watching Mark Cavendish, he came out after that
:20:07. > :20:09.flying lap looking really relaxed. His wife and kids are up in the
:20:10. > :20:14.stand above me watching on and willing him on to get that Olympic
:20:15. > :20:16.medal. He is chased it for such a long time, it would be a very
:20:17. > :20:20.special medal whatever colour it might be. Would it be fair to say
:20:21. > :20:23.that he could be leading this omnium if he hadn't got punished by the
:20:24. > :20:30.judges forgoing an illegal under taking lamination race? Potentially,
:20:31. > :20:36.but what ifs in this competition Debra Lee count. He was punished,
:20:37. > :20:39.yes, but it was exactly the right decision and it didn't actually
:20:40. > :20:47.affect the result of the race. You couldn't argue with the decision.
:20:48. > :20:52.It's guys like Lasse Hansen who will look at that elimination race and
:20:53. > :20:57.think what could have been. Tenet of New Zealand didn't really try in
:20:58. > :21:03.that race either. He is shown in both the time the events how strong
:21:04. > :21:09.he is. What Cavendish did was limit his losses there. You've seen Laura
:21:10. > :21:14.Trott, sitting there with her headphones on, she looks very
:21:15. > :21:18.relaxed, how do you think she will do? Last ago in this individual
:21:19. > :21:21.pursuit. She will be completely unfazed. She's super strong and
:21:22. > :21:25.looked really great earlier in the day. I think she will come out and
:21:26. > :21:30.lay down her time and do what she has to do, no problem. Don't worry,
:21:31. > :21:34.we've got this one, got it covered, Claire. You can see her looking up
:21:35. > :21:37.at the screen and taking a check on what is what and the answer is that
:21:38. > :21:43.for tears of riders have gone and she is in the ninth pair to go.
:21:44. > :21:48.We're enjoying the live action, seeing what sorts of times they are
:21:49. > :22:05.setting. We will see Kirsten Wild of the Netherlands is up against, how
:22:06. > :22:10.do I say that? Daria Pikulik! You know what? The good news is that
:22:11. > :22:12.Simon Brotherton is the one who has to say it! We will head over to him
:22:13. > :22:28.and pick up this individual pursuit. COMMENTATOR: The rider from Poland
:22:29. > :22:32.will be on the track shortly! This is Diao Xiao Juan, still coming up
:22:33. > :22:42.to the line having been caught by the other rider on the track, but
:22:43. > :22:47.the new quickest time, four of the nine heats have taken place. Kirsten
:22:48. > :22:58.Wild of the Netherlands will be next onto the track, with Daria Pikulik
:22:59. > :23:01.from Poland. Marlies Mejias started well and managed to hold onto that
:23:02. > :23:07.good start. It was a tough ride from her. Kirsten Wild coming up next.
:23:08. > :23:11.She was fourth in the World Championships, so we could seek a
:23:12. > :23:17.fastest time again. It's going to keep tumbling this week, as we go
:23:18. > :23:21.through this seeded condition. We've got a very experienced rider here
:23:22. > :23:31.against a very young but were missing rider, Kirsten Wild. More on
:23:32. > :23:36.her in just a moment. There is Pikulik from Poland. World
:23:37. > :23:42.silver-medallist in the junior omnium last year and she won the
:23:43. > :23:46.points race as well. All smiles getting onto the bike and you have
:23:47. > :23:53.to be 18 or over to compete in the Olympic Games, so she just turned of
:23:54. > :23:56.age in time. You just saw a shot of Kirsten Wild from the Netherlands,
:23:57. > :24:04.33 years of age, down on the left-hand side. We saw her in ride
:24:05. > :24:10.London in the Classique, she won that in the sprint for the line on
:24:11. > :24:14.the Mall Angie also victory that tore the Yorkshire one-day race in
:24:15. > :24:23.the UK earlier in the year. She has previously been a champion on the
:24:24. > :24:24.track. 3000 metres the distance in this women's on the individual
:24:25. > :24:40.pursuit, that is 12 laps. Both off to a decent start. On
:24:41. > :24:48.paper,... There is some unknown with the young Polish rider. Certainly
:24:49. > :24:52.got off to a good start. They are not competing against each other,
:24:53. > :24:56.they are setting a time, and that is how they will be ranked. You would
:24:57. > :25:00.think that Pikulik would probably do a decent time here because she rode
:25:01. > :25:04.for Poland in the team pursuit at the Olympic Games earlier this week
:25:05. > :25:08.and she'll say won the silver medal in the European Championship this
:25:09. > :25:16.year at under 23 level. She's clearly a talent in this individual
:25:17. > :25:23.event. There is Kirsten Wild. A bit like Ellis, she has a very powerful
:25:24. > :25:31.frame and she take some stopping once she gets going. Diao Xiao
:25:32. > :25:39.pick a leg can't really lean on her Albers and brace herself, it's quite
:25:40. > :25:48.an ungainly style. She's gone for a more stubby helmet. There are all
:25:49. > :25:52.sorts of regulations governing how high you can go and how long you can
:25:53. > :26:00.go and where your hands are in relation to the front of the wheel.
:26:01. > :26:06.The shorter riders have an advantage because of the measurements
:26:07. > :26:13.regardless of your height. A very aero position. She is stopped still
:26:14. > :26:20.on the bike. There is Kirsten Wild, cutting through the air down the
:26:21. > :26:26.back straight. Pikulik by the way has set the fastest time so far up
:26:27. > :26:29.to this stage of proceedings. And now just gone down to the second
:26:30. > :26:35.quickest time. Five laps to go for these two riders. You could expect
:26:36. > :26:40.Kirsten Wild to be the better pace of these two riders. That experience
:26:41. > :26:46.does come into play here. You have to learn about your own abilities
:26:47. > :26:58.and how to measure them carefully. She's a bit like Viviani in the
:26:59. > :27:07.men's omnium. She has kept her career going on the track. With
:27:08. > :27:12.three laps to go. She is well into the lead now, for what it's worth.
:27:13. > :27:17.These two riders strive to set their time and this top position is quite
:27:18. > :27:23.remarkable, if you actually consider she can't see where she's going with
:27:24. > :27:27.her head down, she can only see the black line passing underneath her.
:27:28. > :27:31.It must take a lot of training to ride like that. Kirsten Wild
:27:32. > :27:36.gritting her teeth. A difficult stage of the race here. Really
:27:37. > :27:44.hurting, legs screaming, lungs bursting. Pikulik losing ground all
:27:45. > :27:47.the time but of course they are not strictly racing against each other
:27:48. > :27:50.here, she could still posed a good time compared to many of the others
:27:51. > :27:54.in the field, but look at the difference between the two of them.
:27:55. > :27:59.The power and pace on the experience of Kirsten Wild. A new fastest time
:28:00. > :28:06.and she is the leader. Here comes Pikulik up towards the line. 3:39.8
:28:07. > :28:11.80. Quick enough for fourth fastest so far.
:28:12. > :28:15.Kirsten Wild the fastest rider we've seen so far and very impressive to
:28:16. > :28:24.watch, with that tucked position. STUDIO
:28:25. > :28:30.Very impressive, but it looks so painful as well. That is a serious
:28:31. > :28:34.effort. Meanwhile, as if... As if she didn't have enough to face! That
:28:35. > :28:40.is Laura Trott going very fast on the bike. Why do that much effort
:28:41. > :28:43.before what you've got to come? So, you want to be fully activated in
:28:44. > :28:48.your warm up ready for the race, so that the pursuit -- as the pursuit
:28:49. > :28:51.is a full gas effort. It's not a sprint from the start, it's a bit
:28:52. > :28:57.different to the team sprint but for us you need to be fully warmed up.
:28:58. > :29:00.We will try and spend some time on the power output they want to do for
:29:01. > :29:03.the perceived in the race, and because it's from a standing start
:29:04. > :29:09.you have to go from zero to top speed as efficiently as you can.
:29:10. > :29:13.Some power sprints on the rollers to get the legs activated and ready to
:29:14. > :29:20.go right from the start. How important is position on the bike?
:29:21. > :29:23.To get it right, to jockey position really? It's the most important
:29:24. > :29:27.thing. All the equipment, all the money spent on the bikes and the
:29:28. > :29:31.closing and the helmet, it's the shape of the rider's body that is
:29:32. > :29:37.the biggest area, so if you can minimise that you get the biggest
:29:38. > :29:41.gain. Handing you back to Simon. COMMENTATOR: Ready to go once more,
:29:42. > :29:57.use against experience here. On the right, the French athlete, on the
:29:58. > :30:04.left, Amalie Dideriksen. Just 20 years of age. Still finding her feet
:30:05. > :30:08.at this elite level in the Olympic Games, but she was good enough for
:30:09. > :30:13.tenth place in the Worlds this year. I think she is another name we will
:30:14. > :30:17.hear much more of in the years to come. Both will be aiming to be top
:30:18. > :30:23.ten in this particular discipline. Very handy pursuit, certainly not
:30:24. > :30:35.their primary event but they can set some good signs.
:30:36. > :30:48.Amalie Dideriksen the fourth fastest but with 12 laps of the track, it is
:30:49. > :30:54.a measured effort. Dideriksen has gone out in front. It is a long time
:30:55. > :31:05.ago the World Championship in London. I mentioned the greater
:31:06. > :31:14.experience of Laurie Berthon, but she's still only 24 herself. She has
:31:15. > :31:19.been towards the top of the standings in several occasions in
:31:20. > :31:26.recent years. She was third in Manchester in a World Cup race, and
:31:27. > :31:32.omnium event won by Laura Trott. Certainly storming now. It does not
:31:33. > :31:38.look like there will be half a second between them on this
:31:39. > :31:44.occasion. She is starting to feel a little bit of benefit from the
:31:45. > :31:54.slipstream. So Dideriksen is the fastest rider so far. About a minute
:31:55. > :31:58.and a half of racing remaining. If she has gone off too fast, there is
:31:59. > :32:05.still plenty of time to lose everything she has gained. That is
:32:06. > :32:12.unlikely to happen. She is experienced. She is hunting her down
:32:13. > :32:18.now. She has four laps to go, Dideriksen. She is showing the
:32:19. > :32:23.talent we know she has got. This has worked out very well timewise for
:32:24. > :32:29.Amalie Dideriksen and not so good for Laurie Berthon, the world silver
:32:30. > :32:33.medallist. And endurance rider, 45 seconds remaining. She is
:32:34. > :32:38.effectively starting her sprint now as she goes after the Frenchwoman.
:32:39. > :32:47.It must be such a bonus to have something to aim at in front of you.
:32:48. > :32:53.The legs are starting to hurt. Dideriksen captures the Frenchwoman
:32:54. > :32:58.and goes past. She covered the least distance. She has set the fastest
:32:59. > :33:04.time with one lap to go. She has got to hang onto that speed for another
:33:05. > :33:10.250 metres. If she does, we will have a new leader in event two in
:33:11. > :33:20.the winning's omnium. Around the banking for the final time. Here she
:33:21. > :33:24.comes now. Dideriksen Denmark is the fastest rider so far with six more
:33:25. > :33:33.to go out on the track as Berthon finishes sixth quickest.
:33:34. > :33:37.Two more pairs to go before we will see Laura Trott in this individual
:33:38. > :33:43.pursuit but there is Mark Cavendish, knowing that he is about half an
:33:44. > :33:47.hour away in his final race in the men's omnium and he has a definite
:33:48. > :33:53.chance of a gold medal. He has never won an Olympic medal. He has won 30
:33:54. > :34:00.stages of the Tour de France and three rainbow jerseys on the track
:34:01. > :34:02.and one on the road. He is in good form. This morning when Chris Hoy
:34:03. > :34:10.was talking to Jill, they got gate-crashed. There are probably
:34:11. > :34:20.five or six guys who could win this. Chris, can I have an autographed?!
:34:21. > :34:34.Here he is. I was big in you up. He is in good form? He is. He was
:34:35. > :34:43.full of Huber. -- he was full of humour. If you lapped the field you
:34:44. > :34:48.gain 20 points. There are many opportunities to make up the points.
:34:49. > :34:54.However, Viviani, this is the position he wanted to be in and have
:34:55. > :35:03.a bit of a crush on. He could now follow Mark. He just needs to make
:35:04. > :35:12.sure he does not lose too many points. In the women was Mac omnium,
:35:13. > :35:18.here we go with the next power. COMMENTATOR: And it is Lauren Ellis
:35:19. > :35:23.from New Zealand and Anette Edmundson from Australia. She won
:35:24. > :35:32.the bronze medal four years ago in London. A very, very consistent
:35:33. > :35:37.performer, second in 2012, third the following year and then finally the
:35:38. > :35:41.world champion in 2015. Annette Edmondson will certainly be worth
:35:42. > :35:48.keeping an eye on. She will be strongly fancied to win a medal here
:35:49. > :35:53.in this Olympic omnium. And then up against her is Lauren Ellis from New
:35:54. > :36:00.Zealand. Fourth in the team pursuit, eighth in the World Championship in
:36:01. > :36:05.the omnium in London in the spring. The Australians desperate for a
:36:06. > :36:11.result here. It could be Annette Edmondson who gets them something.
:36:12. > :36:18.They will be disappointed with their performance, performing so strongly
:36:19. > :36:28.at the World Championships. But Edmondson, that is not her problem.
:36:29. > :36:32.I was reading a digital edition of an Australian newspaper earlier on
:36:33. > :36:38.and the inquest has already started in the track performance, a couple
:36:39. > :36:43.of articles saying why has our track campaign at the Olympic Games fallen
:36:44. > :36:50.flat with Australia finishing fourth on several occasions and
:36:51. > :36:55.underperforming and below their own expectations. Seems like a double
:36:56. > :37:00.peaking issue. Once every four years they have two before Midsummer and
:37:01. > :37:04.that causes a bit of a problem. Often the World Championship times
:37:05. > :37:10.are not met. That will not be the case here. These two our fifth and
:37:11. > :37:20.seventh fastest so far. There are only four riders to go. Edmondson
:37:21. > :37:25.was the only one not to end up on the deck when they had a heavy crash
:37:26. > :37:31.in training earlier in the week. That did ruin their chances of
:37:32. > :37:38.challenging. Edmondson fourth fastest, Ellis fifth quickest. She
:37:39. > :37:50.is a lot faster than she was in London. That is telling. She is
:37:51. > :37:56.storming round the track here. Edmondson has three laps to go. She
:37:57. > :38:04.had a nasty crash. She collided with a car back home. I saw a photograph
:38:05. > :38:10.of the site of the car. It was fortunate that she could even
:38:11. > :38:17.compete in the World Championships. Now she is back to something
:38:18. > :38:20.approaching her best. There is nothing between them at the moment,
:38:21. > :38:34.they are both riding well, very strongly. As they take the Bell,
:38:35. > :38:40.just one lap to go will stop they will finish close together. Less
:38:41. > :38:50.than half a lap to go. A bit of a sprint towards the line. Lauren
:38:51. > :39:04.Ellis of New Zealand is showing very good form here.
:39:05. > :39:15.As Simon says, one more pared to go before we will see Laura Trott.
:39:16. > :39:19.Meanwhile, in the diving, it is the men's three metre preliminaries.
:39:20. > :39:24.Jack Laugher who won Britain's first-ever diving gold in the
:39:25. > :39:32.synchro with Chris Mears, he had been struggling, until that, his
:39:33. > :39:35.third dive at the halfway stage. He got it absolutely spot-on. Leon
:39:36. > :39:38.Taylor said he was worried about Jack because of the gap between
:39:39. > :39:43.winning a gold medal and then getting back in there. He said after
:39:44. > :39:48.they won silver in Athens he found it very difficult to refocus again
:39:49. > :39:56.and get his rhythm back but Jack in good form. He takes a nice dip in
:39:57. > :40:05.the Jacuzzi. The top 18 qualify. This was Freddie Woodward's dive.
:40:06. > :40:09.Again, that was his third dive. He is currently in ninth place so both
:40:10. > :40:13.of them looking pretty comfortable. The top 18 qualify for the
:40:14. > :40:19.semifinals which are tomorrow and so was the final. Coverage is
:40:20. > :40:24.continuing online. So, back to the cycling.
:40:25. > :40:35.COMMENTATOR: Just five seconds away from this penultimate ride. Sarah
:40:36. > :40:49.Hammer who was the principal rival she is the former world champion in
:40:50. > :40:59.this event. Jolien D'Hoore has had considerable success in road racing.
:41:00. > :41:07.It is Sarah Hammer who we would expect to take this. It is the
:41:08. > :41:11.strongest event. And five-time world champion. She will be looking to
:41:12. > :41:18.grab hold of this event and secure maximum points. We move through
:41:19. > :41:24.these distant disciplines because she was caught on the shoulder in
:41:25. > :41:29.the sprint in the elimination race. I don't know what you thought,
:41:30. > :41:33.Chris, but watching earlier today in the scratch race, it looked like she
:41:34. > :41:38.did not have the speed to sit on Laura Trott's wheel. I think she got
:41:39. > :41:43.caught up in traffic. It looked like she was not moving forward but she
:41:44. > :41:48.was so far out on the track, she was going six or seven metres further.
:41:49. > :41:54.She will be OK here. 28 she did at the World Championship. She is not
:41:55. > :42:00.the fastest so far. She is such an aggressive rider. She likes to get
:42:01. > :42:06.into the race and hang on. It may be a different strategy. She has
:42:07. > :42:20.already gone up a spot in the space of one lap. Sarah Hammer from the
:42:21. > :42:32.United States. The time to beat is three .30... She is something of an
:42:33. > :42:37.ungainly rider to watch, I think I have to say. Not a great stylist but
:42:38. > :42:44.she gets the power out. You think she is about to start fading and she
:42:45. > :42:53.keeps going and going. Jolien D'Hoore is going very well as well.
:42:54. > :42:59.Let's have a look at the time check. She is continuing to impress in this
:43:00. > :43:05.individual pursuit. They are round about 28 at the moment. Sarah Hammer
:43:06. > :43:08.was the driving force in the American pursuit team that perhaps
:43:09. > :43:12.did not completely help them by doing short turns but here it is all
:43:13. > :43:18.about her and Tyrone performance. The longer the race is going on, the
:43:19. > :43:23.faster she seems to be riding, Sarah Hammer. We expect nothing less. It
:43:24. > :43:30.will be interesting to get the views of Joanna Rowsell-Shand as well in a
:43:31. > :43:34.minute. D'Hoore goes down the back straight. Sarah Hammer hurtles
:43:35. > :43:39.around the bottom of the track here. A couple of seconds to get it all
:43:40. > :43:44.out now as she takes the Bell. She will go into the lead as expected
:43:45. > :43:57.here but Sarah Hammer really laying it all down. Her favoured event. She
:43:58. > :44:02.is coming up to the line now. The quickest time by quite a long way
:44:03. > :44:07.and the second fastest time from Jolien D'Hoore from Belgium. Sarah
:44:08. > :44:12.Hammer, we have seen the form she has got because the USA were very
:44:13. > :44:16.impressive in the women's team pursuit, but she has shown an
:44:17. > :44:22.heroine that she has carried that performance and Jolien D'Hoore with
:44:23. > :44:29.a strong ride. That was a solid ride from her. She will be pleased with
:44:30. > :44:36.that. She has not had great luck so far, but that will be a difficult
:44:37. > :44:48.mark to beat. Sarah Hammer laying it down. Jo, what is her best time? Her
:44:49. > :44:55.best at sea level... She has not done a full length in training. She
:44:56. > :45:03.will know what sort of pace she wants to aim for. It is interesting,
:45:04. > :45:09.having watched the women's been in the gymnastics where they got powder
:45:10. > :45:14.all over them, is that chalk or talcum powder? It will be liquid
:45:15. > :45:19.chalk. It is much better than wearing a set of gloves. You get the
:45:20. > :45:23.grip you require but there is not the extra weight and the drag you
:45:24. > :45:25.get from gloves. Some riders do use gloves but it is a personal
:45:26. > :45:36.preference. And there is Laura Trott! Massive
:45:37. > :45:40.roar from the crowd in this velodrome. Huge support for her.
:45:41. > :45:47.Union flags around for Laura Trott. She's in the back straight. Tatsiana
:45:48. > :45:50.Sharakova won the first event. She broke away from the pack and timed
:45:51. > :45:54.it well and it worked out well for her, that is why she was the leader
:45:55. > :45:59.after the first event, she's a former champion in track but I don't
:46:00. > :46:05.think she will be a contender for the medals. Laura Trott in second
:46:06. > :46:10.position in the women's omnium after that impressive ride in the first
:46:11. > :46:13.event. Here she goes in her second six. She's going to have to produce
:46:14. > :46:18.a personal best here but that is as it should be at an Olympic Games.
:46:19. > :46:27.Very cool, calm and collected at the opening stages. Sharakova should not
:46:28. > :46:34.be as good a pursuit rider. Sharakova's chart a -- start a slow
:46:35. > :46:39.one. Here we come to the 500-metre mark now, let's have a look at how
:46:40. > :46:45.Laura is getting on. Third fastest and as you can see, Sharakova is
:46:46. > :46:48.noticeably slower. She looks well settled on the bike, time checks
:46:49. > :46:53.showing that she is well up on schedule. That is a good thing
:46:54. > :46:59.really. She's doing well here and eating up the ground. Sharakova is
:47:00. > :47:04.going to be within the same straight within two laps. Laura Trott
:47:05. > :47:10.incredibly impressive in that opening ride, she looked completely
:47:11. > :47:15.in control in that scratch race. I don't think she's ever ridden better
:47:16. > :47:18.or been in better form coming into a major championship. It certainly
:47:19. > :47:23.looks that way and she is riding beautifully here so far. She is
:47:24. > :47:31.hogging the black line at the bottom of the track. It's no mean feat to
:47:32. > :47:37.stay stuck to it. Still a long way to go for Laura Trott. So far so
:47:38. > :47:40.good for her. Even if she died off a bit, I think it would be the best
:47:41. > :47:44.pursued she's ever ridden, where she has to be pleased. She's now got a
:47:45. > :47:49.visual incentive and an aerodynamic benefits as well. This is playing
:47:50. > :47:53.into Laura Trott's fans here, to give her the chance to really
:47:54. > :47:58.maximise her performance in this individual pursuit. She has a rider
:47:59. > :48:03.to chase. When the shop opens out we will see that she is not that far
:48:04. > :48:08.behind Sharakova. She's closing in! 40 metres, 30 metres between them
:48:09. > :48:11.and she's already getting a significant benefit, the difficulty
:48:12. > :48:18.will be when she gets on the other side and hits the dead air. I wasn't
:48:19. > :48:21.expecting that. Laura Trott will worry about that any moment now
:48:22. > :48:27.because she goes past Sharakova, the former point race champion of the
:48:28. > :48:33.world and the crowd roared their approval at Trott's performance so
:48:34. > :48:38.far. Can she keep it all together? Her position is still very solid,
:48:39. > :48:45.very aerodynamic. She looks extremely -- extremely strong on the
:48:46. > :48:49.bike. She is just driving for home, just a view more seconds to go. Now
:48:50. > :48:55.as Laura Trott comes up to the line she will have two more laps to go in
:48:56. > :48:59.this race, two more laps for Laura Trott, and what a psychological blow
:49:00. > :49:03.to Sarah Hammer this could be. A storming ride, not showing signs of
:49:04. > :49:08.fading at the moment. She still looks well on top of it here. Laura
:49:09. > :49:14.Trott takes the bell, 250 laps to go and it's still the fastest time.
:49:15. > :49:18.Laura Trott races down the finishing straight, half a lap from the end of
:49:19. > :49:25.this individual pursuit race, is she going to go into the lead in the
:49:26. > :49:32.overall standings? What sort of time will see post? A sensational one!
:49:33. > :49:34.3:25.05 for the Laura Trott and Sharakova is still coming in to
:49:35. > :49:44.finish and she still hasn't quite crossed the line. 3:37.2 04. That
:49:45. > :49:47.was unbelievable from Laura Trott. Sarah Hammer, the five-time champion
:49:48. > :49:52.of the world in this discipline as a stand-alone event, could not live
:49:53. > :49:58.with the pace that Laura Trott was able to lie down -- lay down on the
:49:59. > :50:02.track. This is her prime event, the one that she considers a banker.
:50:03. > :50:08.Laura Trott has beaten the former world champion, record-holder. Quite
:50:09. > :50:13.a remarkable ride and she looked so on top of it in the latter stages,
:50:14. > :50:18.only really started driving for home with a lap to go. Beautiful line on
:50:19. > :50:24.the track as well. Paul Manning there, the coach, able to tell her
:50:25. > :50:28.that all was well throughout. She will have known that. Individual
:50:29. > :50:33.pursuit thing from the very top drawer from start to finish. --
:50:34. > :50:39.pursuiting. STUDIO
:50:40. > :50:43.That was so impressive and she wasn't far outside the Olympic
:50:44. > :50:48.record set in Athens in 2004. That was better than you expected, wasn't
:50:49. > :50:54.it? That was phenomenal! The other riders's times have been very quick.
:50:55. > :51:02.I knew the track was running quickly so I thought she would get a new PB
:51:03. > :51:10.but that was almost any elliptic record. A Phenomenal one time. Laura
:51:11. > :51:15.Trott has a 6-point lead over Sarah Hammer going into the 11 nation race
:51:16. > :51:19.which we will bring you, because it is brilliant! -- going into the
:51:20. > :51:22.elimination race. That was one of Sarah Hammer's strongest events and
:51:23. > :51:27.I think she thought she had done enough there but you saw her face!
:51:28. > :51:32.All credit to Laura, that was fantastic. I never saw that coming
:51:33. > :51:37.in terms of that time, that will give her huge confidence in the next
:51:38. > :51:41.round. Also it will give confidence to her team-mate, Mark Cavendish,
:51:42. > :51:46.who has his last race of the omnium coming up, as he continues his
:51:47. > :51:48.desperate, passionately desperate striving for an Olympic medal. He's
:51:49. > :52:04.been telling Jill Douglas about it. People don't realise how hard it is
:52:05. > :52:07.to go from road to track. It's like Formula 1 driving going to a rally
:52:08. > :52:13.cross race, they're not quite the same. My form is good but it's about
:52:14. > :52:17.transition and if I can do that quickly I know I have a chance. The
:52:18. > :52:21.world champion, 30 stages in the tour, where does the Olympics said?
:52:22. > :52:27.It's that one little thing that I haven't done. Within my physicality
:52:28. > :52:31.is, I've done everything I can except win the Olympic Games, you
:52:32. > :52:38.know? It's not going to define me, you know what I mean? As a British
:52:39. > :52:44.athlete, it's likely to define my career but I am patriotically I am
:52:45. > :52:50.very proud to wear the flag I was born under. As a British sports
:52:51. > :52:53.person it's a very big thing for that. You went to Beijing and it
:52:54. > :52:58.didn't come off for you there and you were the one to watch in the
:52:59. > :53:03.road race in 2012. The positives I can take from both those Olympics
:53:04. > :53:06.was that I said I wanted to be in my best condition of the year and I
:53:07. > :53:17.think both times I was on the best condition I possibly could be, and I
:53:18. > :53:24.was the strongest in both events. I knew that if we made every single
:53:25. > :53:29.deck out this year, we would be on the best form possible for Rio. So,
:53:30. > :53:34.the omnium, for first-time watchers of track cycling, it's like the
:53:35. > :53:38.decathlon but on the track. Where do you think you are in that? I'm
:53:39. > :53:41.confident, I've done everything I can. I've worked on the events that
:53:42. > :53:47.I'm Ibid. Weaker at. I'm very confident in the training I've got
:53:48. > :53:56.with my form now that I will put in a good race. You can't doubt his
:53:57. > :54:00.passion and his commitment. He's come back early from the Tour de
:54:01. > :54:05.France to prepare for what will be really his last shot at it. He goes
:54:06. > :54:10.into the final points race in second place in the omnium and it's on,
:54:11. > :54:18.isn't it? It is but we have to be clear this is a huge task ahead of
:54:19. > :54:24.him. He has a few points cushion. I think he's going to use all his
:54:25. > :54:29.experience and his speed. There will be a few physical moments in this as
:54:30. > :54:32.well if it's anything like the race in London. It's very exciting, I'm
:54:33. > :54:37.getting nervous waiting for this one, this is what we're waiting for.
:54:38. > :54:39.Before we see the race start, let's just show you how it works. Here is
:54:40. > :54:47.Chris Boardman. By the time they reach the sixth and
:54:48. > :54:51.last event in the omnium, the riders are starting to get a bit tired. But
:54:52. > :54:56.it's the most important of all because it is where the medals will
:54:57. > :55:00.finally be decided. Rather than start as equals, each athlete goes
:55:01. > :55:03.into the 40 kilometres race, 25 kilometres for women, with an you
:55:04. > :55:11.later total from the previous five events. They then attempt to top up
:55:12. > :55:19.their tally by sprinting for points every five laps. If a rider gains a
:55:20. > :55:24.lap, they get 20 valuable points. If an athlete goes into this decisive
:55:25. > :55:27.round with a reasonable buffer, they can choose to ride defensively,
:55:28. > :55:32.marking their overall rivals rather than trying to win the race. On the
:55:33. > :55:37.flip side, those well behind at this stage have nothing to lose and often
:55:38. > :55:40.try to take them on. The overall winner unsurprisingly is the athlete
:55:41. > :55:45.with the highest scorer at the end of this final round.
:55:46. > :55:52.So, it's a sort of combined tens of endurance. It is sprinting, speed
:55:53. > :55:57.but also physicality and how you hold your position in a bunched race
:55:58. > :56:01.of 17 men. When it comes to the sprints, if you are boxed in it is
:56:02. > :56:05.about creating space for yourself but it's about reading a raise and
:56:06. > :56:11.spotting dangerous moves and not missing out on opportunities to pick
:56:12. > :56:14.up points. To gain a lab here, you would straightaway be right at the
:56:15. > :56:17.top of the leaderboard. It would not just be about sprints, it would be
:56:18. > :56:22.about the opportunity of getting a gap. Therefore you have to be
:56:23. > :56:27.reading what might happen and reading it tactically. Thank you so
:56:28. > :56:30.much for your contribution, I'm really glad Laura Trott is going
:56:31. > :56:36.well in the omnium, hopefully we'll come back to us and we catch up with
:56:37. > :56:38.you tomorrow. Thank you. I will it you go back and cheer on Mark
:56:39. > :56:44.Cavendish. Here we go, this could mean gold.
:56:45. > :56:49.Simon Brotherton. COMMENTATOR: So, 160 laps of the
:56:50. > :56:52.track. They all just roll around to make sure everyone is up and running
:56:53. > :56:56.and when they are together in a group the gun will go and they will
:56:57. > :56:59.start the race properly here. Mark Cavendish came to Rio not as the
:57:00. > :57:04.favourite for the gold medal but he goes into this final race not as the
:57:05. > :57:09.favourite, with Viviani ahead of him and looking strong. Is it possible?
:57:10. > :57:13.Does he have the validity to win? Yes he certainly does. There is
:57:14. > :57:26.quite a fight for the podium spots as well. One athlete on 150 points,
:57:27. > :57:30.one on 140. Viviani... There are quite a few athletes who can take
:57:31. > :57:33.the title here. It will come down to the last quarter of the race where
:57:34. > :57:37.the attacks will come thick and fast.
:57:38. > :57:47.He has started the racing very quickly! He certainly got Lasse
:57:48. > :57:53.Hansen napping because he is just off either back at the moment, as he
:57:54. > :57:56.goes down the back straight and Mark Cavendish lead the chase, has a look
:57:57. > :58:00.around to see if there is some support, Prado of Mexico and
:58:01. > :58:04.Monteiro Brazil were right on his wheel but not interested in doing a
:58:05. > :58:08.turn at the front. It needs some canny riding now, you have to chase
:58:09. > :58:12.to get back on terms with someone who can threaten you but if you do
:58:13. > :58:16.that they can counterattack. A very canny bit of riding. This is a
:58:17. > :58:23.courageous move from him, all or nothing really. Well, it might come
:58:24. > :58:28.back to haunt him a bit. He is fully committed to this, using plenty of
:58:29. > :58:31.energy about there. The chase is on behind him and everybody is starting
:58:32. > :58:37.to share the pace, they've got themselves organised. He seems to be
:58:38. > :58:43.pegged at about half a lap. It won't take much for him to make inroads,
:58:44. > :58:53.it depends how much he is putting in right now. 154 laps remaining right
:58:54. > :58:57.now. Boudat leads the rest of the field over the line with Lasse
:58:58. > :59:00.Hansen, the defending Olympic champion, and Mark Cavendish also
:59:01. > :59:04.prominent. Cavendish found himself at the front and quickly rode to the
:59:05. > :59:17.front of the track, but Gaviria looks like claiming the points for
:59:18. > :59:23.the first five laps. They modelled this race to see if they could find
:59:24. > :59:30.trends and the chances of a first attack succeeding were extremely
:59:31. > :59:36.small. Gaviria wants to put himself back in contention here. He is well
:59:37. > :59:39.behind Lasse Hansen in the bronze medal position. If he takes these
:59:40. > :59:52.points, which he almost certainly will now with one lap to go and
:59:53. > :59:55.gains a lap,... So much can happen here, that is why we're saying Mark
:59:56. > :00:00.Cavendish could win this race but any number of other can happen as
:00:01. > :00:05.well. Over the line they come, Sprint one of the points race. It
:00:06. > :00:13.will finish with Gaviria taking the five points, Cavendish two, Viviani
:00:14. > :00:16.one. Cavendish was happy to sit on the wheel, he wanted to keep driving
:00:17. > :00:21.to see if he could get a breakaway going and he has done that. He has
:00:22. > :00:24.managed to get a bit of its Bridcutt -- split, probably not enough but
:00:25. > :00:35.enough to bring Gaviria back into the fold.
:00:36. > :00:43.Monteiro of Brazil on the front in the line fluorescent helmet. He has
:00:44. > :00:49.had some great support from the crowd. The first track rider from
:00:50. > :00:53.Brazil in the Olympic Games for 24 years. He qualified 18th in the
:00:54. > :00:57.World Championships in London earlier this year but he has
:00:58. > :01:02.performed considerably better so far on the Olympic Games. Perfect
:01:03. > :01:09.incentive for a lot of attacking from riders who are out of
:01:10. > :01:13.contention. They will not get the attention otherwise. This little
:01:14. > :01:21.lull in the race seems quite handy for Gaviria to catch his breath
:01:22. > :01:27.after the opening ten laps. It was an expensive few points. He had to
:01:28. > :01:43.work harder. Some more attacks now. It the Ignacy Prado.
:01:44. > :01:49.12-macro riders looking around on the front of the pack. Bobby Lee
:01:50. > :01:58.from the United States leads the pack with Gaviria on his wheel. We
:01:59. > :02:04.probably won't see the favourites chasing a move like this. They have
:02:05. > :02:10.built up a buffer and you have to cash it in at some point. Even if
:02:11. > :02:19.you have managed to gain a lap and points, you're still not catching
:02:20. > :02:25.me. Prado and Artyom Zakharov on the front, Mexico and Kazakhstan. Mark
:02:26. > :02:29.Cavendish having a look around. The Brazilian on his wheel. They have
:02:30. > :02:39.sat up a little bit early. He will start his sprint when he gets around
:02:40. > :02:44.into the back straight. Monteiro tries to start the sprint. Viviani
:02:45. > :02:49.tries to go around the outside. He is forth now. Coming out over the
:02:50. > :02:54.top of Mark Cavendish and maybe pipping him on the line. Viviani
:02:55. > :03:02.timed that to perfection. Mark Cavendish picked up three points but
:03:03. > :03:07.he will have lost a bit too Viviani. He was letting them play out. You
:03:08. > :03:17.have to lose some battles to win the war. Cavendish cost some energy.
:03:18. > :03:27.There is the confirmation, the Italian rider half a wheel ahead of
:03:28. > :03:36.Cavendish. You can see it is all happening here. It is likely to be
:03:37. > :03:47.all or nothing for Gaviria. Lasse Hansen has gone on the inside. He is
:03:48. > :03:52.in the gold medal position. Kennett of New Zealand third. And just off
:03:53. > :04:01.the podium is Lasse Hansen of Denmark. Lasse Hansen and Kennett
:04:02. > :04:10.are very strong riders. If you let them get up the road, they will be
:04:11. > :04:15.very difficult riders to bring back. Cavendish is comfortable. They have
:04:16. > :04:22.soon come back together very quickly there. Chris Hoy, what have you made
:04:23. > :04:29.of it so far from Mark Cavendish's point of view? A good start but
:04:30. > :04:34.Viviani is looking ominous. Looking at the gap between them, it is 17
:04:35. > :04:40.points at the moment. Viviani doesn't have to do anything, he just
:04:41. > :04:45.has too respond. But still, one lap gained but it could be very
:04:46. > :04:49.different. So much can change quickly. Lasse Hansen who won in
:04:50. > :04:54.London four years ago wants to change things his way. He started
:04:55. > :04:58.the competition so well and then had a disastrous elimination race last
:04:59. > :05:02.night. He was the first rider to be eliminated and basically through
:05:03. > :05:07.that event away and we thought put himself out of medal contention. He
:05:08. > :05:11.is just off the podium in terms of points. He is trying to put himself
:05:12. > :05:18.back into the top three. If his timing is right, he is looking to
:05:19. > :05:23.gain a lap. He could get some points for consolation for being out on his
:05:24. > :05:27.own, he could do with some company. There are some splits forming behind
:05:28. > :05:35.him. Cavendish halfway back in the main field. Lasse Hansen will
:05:36. > :05:49.collect five points for his breakaway. Viviani may have picked
:05:50. > :06:02.Bobby leave. -- Bobby leave. He is chipping away, Viviani. Hansen
:06:03. > :06:08.could be threatening Viviani. This one has got to be taken seriously.
:06:09. > :06:21.He is a strong rider, he has shown that already. Mark Cavendish on the
:06:22. > :06:26.front of the main field. Tim Veldt from the Netherlands now takes over.
:06:27. > :06:30.Glenn O'Shea as well. There is our leader on the track, Lasse Hansen
:06:31. > :06:39.from Denmark who has almost got half a lap on the main field. There is
:06:40. > :06:43.quite a response coming. Artyom Zakharov from Kazakhstan has been
:06:44. > :06:54.quite prominent at various times in this race. Cube hockey of Japan has
:06:55. > :07:05.formed a trio but they are not gaining ground. Half a lap advantage
:07:06. > :07:14.for Hansen. Viviani has chosen to ride very defensively. Hansen is not
:07:15. > :07:25.giving ground. They charge and he takes a few more metres. The thing
:07:26. > :07:31.about Hansen is he has bought his ticket now. Just three laps to the
:07:32. > :07:36.next sprint now for Lasse Hansen. That will be tempered for his time.
:07:37. > :07:42.He will be beginning to close in on Mark Cavendish who is still in
:07:43. > :07:50.second place at the moment. That could be halved. They have all swung
:07:51. > :07:55.up the banking which is perfect for Hansen. He has spotted what they
:07:56. > :08:01.have done. Prado dived down the banking on the inside. Cavendish is
:08:02. > :08:10.trying to get things moving. This could make life difficult for
:08:11. > :08:14.Hansen. He was close to gaining the extra 20 points and now suddenly he
:08:15. > :08:19.will be grasping for air and watching them disappear in the
:08:20. > :08:23.distance. Viviani is marking Cavendish very closely. Hansen takes
:08:24. > :08:29.the win but who will take second place? It is Cavendish. It is Thomas
:08:30. > :08:36.Boudat third. Five for Denmark, three for Great Britain for
:08:37. > :08:44.Cavendish. Overall, Viviani still leads. He is 16 points ahead of Mark
:08:45. > :08:48.Cavendish is in second place. The secondary reason for Viviani to keep
:08:49. > :08:54.marking Cavendish is if they breakaway does go, he has got an
:08:55. > :08:58.ally, someone else with a vested interest in bringing him back. He
:08:59. > :09:03.does not need to finish in front of Cavendish, he just needs to make
:09:04. > :09:20.sure they don't get separated. Lasse Hansen is still plugging away. Roger
:09:21. > :09:28.Kluge from Germany has gone off. The Pacers eased a little bit at the
:09:29. > :09:33.back of the main field. Roger Kluge and Thomas Boudat will be a strong
:09:34. > :09:39.group. Cavendish is desperate to get into one of these moves. Viviani has
:09:40. > :09:43.closed it down and Cavendish has followed him. Meanwhile, Lasse
:09:44. > :09:47.Hansen is still chasing hard and getting closer to the back of the
:09:48. > :09:54.main field. This is quite some effort from him with 115 laps to go.
:09:55. > :09:59.He has to draw level with the last rider of the large group. I feel
:10:00. > :10:09.certain he will do that now. It is costing him. Roger Kluge is on the
:10:10. > :10:15.front. Dylan Kennett leads the main field. Tim Veldt goes through on the
:10:16. > :10:21.inside for the Netherlands. Now he has gained a lap, Lasse Hansen.
:10:22. > :10:26.There he is joining the biggest main grip on the track. He has pushed
:10:27. > :10:29.Mark Cavendish down to third position. Cavendish now in the
:10:30. > :10:39.bronze medal position with some work to do. He is ten points behind
:10:40. > :10:48.Hansen. Gaviria chasing after Roger Kluge here. It is another sprint
:10:49. > :10:53.lap. There will be a sprint for the minor placings. Mark Cavendish will
:10:54. > :10:59.be involved in that and he is well placed here. Roger Kluge takes the
:11:00. > :11:07.five points. Five and three to Germany and Colombia. Cavendish
:11:08. > :11:14.cleaning up some points with every sprint. He has gone on the attack.
:11:15. > :11:18.Cavendish trying to catch them out. He is looking for some support. He
:11:19. > :11:26.has gone down. Three riders have gone down. Viviani is down and Glenn
:11:27. > :11:31.O'Shea is down. Cavendish is at the front. Viviani who is the gold medal
:11:32. > :11:38.rider at the moment has hit the deck there. There was a collision
:11:39. > :11:50.involving Mark Cavendish. We will see the replays. I think it was the
:11:51. > :11:56.rider from career. I think Cavendish will get a warning for that. He
:11:57. > :12:06.swung down. The Korean rider did not do anything wrong, I am afraid. What
:12:07. > :12:13.drama here in the points race. Riders still down on the ground as
:12:14. > :12:18.the main field go past them. Roger Kluge will make the junction as they
:12:19. > :12:25.cleared things up, and so will Gaviria. O Shea from Australia back
:12:26. > :12:32.on his bike. Still waiting to see Viviani get up. I think Park from
:12:33. > :12:42.Korea is still on the ground. Viviani back in the peloton. It was
:12:43. > :12:48.a very heavy fall. A hard, heavy fall but Roger Kluge from Germany
:12:49. > :12:53.and Fernando Gaviria from Colombia have gained a lap. Gaviria was one
:12:54. > :12:59.point behind Cavendish. Cavendish now being put under pressure from
:13:00. > :13:05.Hansen who is ten points ahead of him in silver now has Gaviria ahead
:13:06. > :13:13.of him. It is almost as if that fantastic racing we have watched has
:13:14. > :13:17.been a starter for this one event. What an event, the medal places
:13:18. > :13:22.changing all the time. The next sprint is to laps away with Mark
:13:23. > :13:30.Cavendish in the Navy skin suit with the White helmet. Thomas Boudat is
:13:31. > :13:35.right on his wheel. Dylan Kennett moving around the outside. Cavendish
:13:36. > :13:43.could really do with scooping up the points in this sprint, sprint six of
:13:44. > :13:51.16. He is on the Kiwi's shoulder now. He collects three points.
:13:52. > :13:57.Cavendish consistently scoring here. Viviani deciding to give some points
:13:58. > :14:01.away and stay fresh. The last 15 laps of this race is where he will
:14:02. > :14:07.really be put under pressure. He is keeping fresh as they can for that
:14:08. > :14:11.last quarter. And Chris Hoy, a race which is ebbing and flowing all the
:14:12. > :14:18.time, and real drama with Mark Cavendish involved, even though he
:14:19. > :14:30.was not the rider that ended up on the floor. It was not Mark's faults.
:14:31. > :14:41.You could see him apologising to Viviani. Here is the crash once
:14:42. > :14:45.again. Mark Cavendish swung down the track. Park Sang-hoon slid into
:14:46. > :14:51.Glenn O'Shea, who clattered into Viviani. They were all on the floor.
:14:52. > :14:56.Park Sang-hoon I am afraid is still on the deck. The race has been
:14:57. > :15:02.neutralised. The yellow flag has come out. We look at that crash
:15:03. > :15:08.again. It was not intentional but it was Mark's faults, I am afraid. He
:15:09. > :15:14.may get a warning for that. I have no idea what injuries have befallen
:15:15. > :15:24.the rider from Korea, but often it is collarbone or shoulder in crashes
:15:25. > :15:31.like this. It was not on the ward, it was on the harder floor. Viviani
:15:32. > :15:35.is OK, if a little frustrated. Mark Cavendish has clearly apologised for
:15:36. > :15:41.what happened. But Park Sang-hoon, you can see he is still being
:15:42. > :15:44.treated. He is on the stretch now. Let's hope that is merely
:15:45. > :15:52.precautionary rather than anything else.
:15:53. > :16:00.Everybody's getting a bit of a breather now. Handy for Viviani, at
:16:01. > :16:06.least. Very different nature to the race with 99 laps till remaining.
:16:07. > :16:11.The race being held at neutral eyes that the moment. It won't be
:16:12. > :16:16.neutralised for much longer, because Park has been lifted up off the
:16:17. > :16:21.ground, he's an stretcher, and they will be carrying him away from the
:16:22. > :16:29.arena shortly. There is Fernando Gaviria. A reminder of the overall
:16:30. > :16:33.standings, Viviani is the overall leader on 186, Hansen of Denmark
:16:34. > :16:40.second and then Mark Cavendish in third place. Hansen on 182.
:16:41. > :16:47.Cavendish on 175. But Gaviria very much a threat and other riders too.
:16:48. > :16:50.If other riders can gain a lap, suddenly they come into the
:16:51. > :16:55.reckoning for those 20 bonus points. The applause is for the rider from
:16:56. > :17:00.Korea, who as you can see is in some severe discomfort, due to the
:17:01. > :17:04.injuries received in that crash. He is leaving the field on a stretcher
:17:05. > :17:11.and we wish him well and we hope that it's not as serious as it
:17:12. > :17:16.perhaps appears. It looked like Suter Switzerland had had a slight
:17:17. > :17:21.mechanical as well, you took the opportunity to get that sorted out
:17:22. > :17:24.while the race was neutralised. The neutralised flag is coming in now,
:17:25. > :17:28.the race will restart the next time around. Officials looking at the
:17:29. > :17:39.track to see if there are any nicks on the track, dense or divots taken
:17:40. > :17:46.out of the wood. There was one that was the size of a piece of paper,
:17:47. > :17:50.they filled it up but no such this time around. This has changed the
:17:51. > :17:54.complexion of it a bit here, not just because we've lost a rider but
:17:55. > :17:58.other riders who put in big efforts have had chances to recover, I'm
:17:59. > :18:02.thinking of riders like Hansen, who put in the big effort to gain a lap
:18:03. > :18:06.and also Viviani who has the chance to recover from the crash and also
:18:07. > :18:11.Gaviria, who has been active. It changes the shape of it, they have
:18:12. > :18:16.almost reset as everybody has had a breather. A real bonus for those who
:18:17. > :18:20.have been out on the attack. What does Mark Cavendish need to do, just
:18:21. > :18:25.keep chipping away at the points? I think he would love to be on the
:18:26. > :18:28.move, you can see him trying to make that happen all the time. Difficult
:18:29. > :18:34.because of his position in the race. He needs a really hard race for the
:18:35. > :18:36.fractures to appear and the favourites feeling so much pressure
:18:37. > :18:45.that they can't do anything about it. Not ideal for him to move
:18:46. > :18:52.forwards, but to hold his position. Cavendish on the attack. Trying to
:18:53. > :19:00.instigate a move. Prado looks pretty keen. Five laps to go to the next
:19:01. > :19:05.sprint and Cavendish very much alert and now he's going to go for it and
:19:06. > :19:10.try and open it up and perhaps hope that someone can go with him, and
:19:11. > :19:13.Roger Kluge, the German rider, does. Cavendish looks up and we'll be
:19:14. > :19:17.happy to see it is Roger Kluge but he hasn't managed to go with him and
:19:18. > :19:22.Roger Kluge is sitting up, Cavendish is as well and he is clean --
:19:23. > :19:27.clearly keen to animate the race here and try and make it happen.
:19:28. > :19:31.He's staring the pot to see what he can instigate, he knows that someone
:19:32. > :19:36.has to launch the first one and won't succeed but he can be the one
:19:37. > :19:39.to get it going. Gaviria for company and Roger Kluge as well but closed
:19:40. > :19:51.down very quickly. There were two very good riders with him, Kluge and
:19:52. > :19:54.Boudat. I think Dylan Kennett has a mechanical, he has pulled off the
:19:55. > :19:57.track and stopped momentarily, he will be allowed to do that as long
:19:58. > :20:02.as he read turns to the race, I think he may have a puncture. There
:20:03. > :20:08.is Rod Elling worth, the coach from Great Britain, as the lap for the
:20:09. > :20:15.next sprint comes up with the French rider at the front at the moment.
:20:16. > :20:19.Gaviria in third. Cavendish boxed a little bit here, on the inside, may
:20:20. > :20:29.be able to collect a point in this rent. Viviani third, fourth and
:20:30. > :20:32.collecting one point is Cavendish. He was also just trying to score
:20:33. > :20:36.himself some points, he is the superior sprinter in this group,
:20:37. > :20:42.Cavendish, but just not able to get away and that is what has been
:20:43. > :20:49.shaping this race, these lap gains. Hansen second on 182. Gaviria of
:20:50. > :20:56.Columbia fourth just two points behind him. Still anybody's race. It
:20:57. > :21:02.is after the sprints when you're most likely to see a breakaway as
:21:03. > :21:15.people try to recover. A small group of four riders. Prado of Mexico, the
:21:16. > :21:19.Japanese athlete and the Kazakhstan athlete. None of these riders
:21:20. > :21:25.overall contenders. Cavendish keen to claw back the advantage held by
:21:26. > :21:29.those four ahead of him. It's breaking up but not enough at all
:21:30. > :21:35.and the gaps are just opening and closing. He's trying to create an
:21:36. > :21:43.aggressive race, isn't he? I think he needs to leave one of the sprints
:21:44. > :21:47.and sacrifice some points in order to get himself and opportunity for
:21:48. > :21:51.an attack. Monteiro at the front and when the crowd realise it I'm sure
:21:52. > :21:56.they will start to make a noise, they usually do when they realise he
:21:57. > :21:59.is on the track. The Dutchman has not been able to perform at his
:22:00. > :22:03.absolute best in this, this and so find neither has Glenn O'Shea, the
:22:04. > :22:07.Australian at the front at the moment, certainly not by his own
:22:08. > :22:11.high standards. Cavendish is on the podium at the moment but his lead is
:22:12. > :22:16.just two points over Gaviria, said we have two not just see how he can
:22:17. > :22:21.make some inroads on Hansen but keep looking over his shoulder and
:22:22. > :22:26.Gaviria is a very wily rider. Gaviria looks pretty keen to animate
:22:27. > :22:30.given half a chance and Boudat is another rider who looks to attack
:22:31. > :22:37.given the opportunity. A lap and a half from the next sprint. There is
:22:38. > :22:42.the overall situation. Cavendish on the podium at the moment in the
:22:43. > :22:48.bronze medal position, but only just, as Prado makes a move. Two
:22:49. > :22:52.laps to go until the next sprint, he's hoping to get that. Hansen has
:22:53. > :22:56.decided he needs to get more points on the board to consolidate his
:22:57. > :23:00.position and he's chasing him down. Cavendish could do with trying to
:23:01. > :23:05.close that down because he won't want Hansen getting any further
:23:06. > :23:12.ahead. Prado will take the points. Monteiro of Brazil's second. Here
:23:13. > :23:19.they come towards the line and Hansen takes five, Cavendish three,
:23:20. > :23:25.Bavaria two, and Kuboki of Japan takes one. He thinks about attacking
:23:26. > :23:28.and keeping that going. That is what he has built up the leaves fall, so
:23:29. > :23:33.he doesn't have too participate in every sprint. Just every now and
:23:34. > :23:39.again he gets a couple more. This is the danger point for attacks. So, as
:23:40. > :23:43.we have 78 laps to go, Chris Hoy, Mark Cavendish is still very much in
:23:44. > :23:49.the mix here but it is anyone's race. It is indeed. I wonder if he's
:23:50. > :23:53.just waiting for that moment when it's been really tough for a few
:23:54. > :23:56.laps and there is potentially an opportunity to launch a massive
:23:57. > :24:04.attack and try and gain a lap. He certainly isn't doing superbly on
:24:05. > :24:09.the sprint. He didn't quite have the horsepower. Perhaps he's trying to
:24:10. > :24:15.keep his powder dry a bit for later on. One big blistering effort for
:24:16. > :24:20.him? You never know. You never know but you're absolutely right, this is
:24:21. > :24:29.anybody's race at this stage. 76 laps to go, at the front is number
:24:30. > :24:33.12, from Hong Kong, Leung Chun Wing, opened up a bit of an advantage but
:24:34. > :24:38.it doesn't look decisive. They are already starting to those in on him
:24:39. > :24:43.and Zakharov of Kazakhstan leads that chase with Hansen of Denmark.
:24:44. > :24:48.Viviani, Hansen, Cavendish, Gaviria, they could all potentially win this
:24:49. > :24:52.race and certainly the race for the podium is amongst those four.
:24:53. > :24:56.Gaviria has worked do, a 22 point deficit at the moment. White and now
:24:57. > :25:00.Mark Cavendish is at the front of the race, thinks about an attack,
:25:01. > :25:05.looks around and sees who's with income he wants some good company
:25:06. > :25:09.here. Roger Kluge looks like he might join him, he looks committed
:25:10. > :25:13.to doing so and Zakharov, who we've seen trying to animate the race
:25:14. > :25:17.already, does as well but the two of them move up the track back with
:25:18. > :25:21.Cavendish now and the leading group are all back together. Bobby Lea of
:25:22. > :25:24.the United States just off the back of the main field at the moment.
:25:25. > :25:27.Tightly bunched on the track and tightly bunched in terms of the
:25:28. > :25:30.medal positions and those challenging for them. I'm just
:25:31. > :25:35.wondering whether pursuing points is the right strategy for Cavendish at
:25:36. > :25:38.this point. It's certainly good if he wants to bolster his bronze medal
:25:39. > :25:41.position but if he wants to have a shot at gold, it needs to be an
:25:42. > :25:47.attack and he can't be the one that makes it, people will follow him, he
:25:48. > :25:52.needs to be the one that follows. It could be something just like this!
:25:53. > :25:56.Zakharov is trying to get on their wheel and Cavendish is on the wheel
:25:57. > :26:00.of the Kazakis rider right now, on the sprint laps. Cavendish now
:26:01. > :26:06.gaining ground on the two in front of him, will he be able to trot past
:26:07. > :26:10.Viviani? Up towards the line and he throws his bike at the line there,
:26:11. > :26:14.Cavendish. That was more like it and he's and truly in this race,
:26:15. > :26:19.battling hard for the medals and the world champion, Gaviria, and Viviani
:26:20. > :26:22.suddenly found they had exalted company and Cavendish takes all five
:26:23. > :26:27.points on the line and he is only three points behind Hansen for the
:26:28. > :26:31.silver medal now. Hansen couldn't do anything about that, I was wondering
:26:32. > :26:34.if he was going to counterattack that Viviani very wisely took it
:26:35. > :26:38.straight back down to the bottom of the track so nobody could fly by
:26:39. > :26:41.underneath him and sure enough, Hansen is also trying to get a
:26:42. > :26:44.breakaway. He's not faring well enough in these sprints and he
:26:45. > :26:50.really feels under threat here from Mark Cavendish. 68 laps still to go,
:26:51. > :26:57.Ignacio Prado from Mexico tries once again, with Dylan Kennett on his
:26:58. > :27:00.wheel, with Roger Kluge in third place and Monteiro in fourth. Mark
:27:01. > :27:03.Cavendish still very much in the mix for the medals here and he's in the
:27:04. > :27:07.bronze medal position at the moment with excision of eight points. He's
:27:08. > :27:12.really been closing that gap and he's not too far away now, only
:27:13. > :27:15.seven points behind Viviani. If he keeps sprinting like he is he has
:27:16. > :27:19.still got another six sprint ahead of him and the strategy he is
:27:20. > :27:22.employing right now could well do the job and take him the gold medal,
:27:23. > :27:27.providing nobody seriously gets away. He has to mark anything
:27:28. > :27:33.potentially dangerous from getting away. Dylan Kennett was eighth, no,
:27:34. > :27:40.he has got eight points so far, Dylan Kennett of New Zealand, on the
:27:41. > :27:46.attack with Prado. 65 laps to go in this points race, the final race of
:27:47. > :27:48.the men's omni. Can Mark Cavendish finally get an Olympic medal to go
:27:49. > :27:54.with all the other wonderful achievements in his career? Those 30
:27:55. > :27:58.Tour de France stage victories, that one day in the yellow jersey, the
:27:59. > :28:03.World Championship Road race victory, the three rainbow jerseys.
:28:04. > :28:07.As an Olympic champion on the track, an Olympic medal he is after and
:28:08. > :28:11.still in with a good chance of getting one. He's currently in the
:28:12. > :28:14.bronze medal addition, not out of the running for the gold possibly
:28:15. > :28:18.but so much can happen in the closing laps of this race and we are
:28:19. > :28:19.three laps away from the next sprint and Cavendish in the middle of the
:28:20. > :28:30.field. So, now at the front is Suter from
:28:31. > :28:35.Switzerland with Cavendish peeling up. There were two riders clear of
:28:36. > :28:41.the pack so there could only be two points on offer for him next time
:28:42. > :28:45.over the line. Everyone of these last six sprints has to be treated
:28:46. > :28:48.like a finish because every one is going to count. I think Mark
:28:49. > :28:51.Cavendish could well take the gold medal here.
:28:52. > :29:01.BELL STUDIO
:29:02. > :29:02.Well, if you want to see the... If you want to see the conclusion of
