:00:00. > :00:00.look so easy. My heart goes out to the British duo of Dylan Fletcher

:00:00. > :00:00.and Alain Sign, they tried so hard this week, they are a really strong

:00:07. > :00:10.unit, in that race they threw everything added. They will be

:00:11. > :00:17.disappointed but I'm sure they will be back in Tokyo in four years. Next

:00:18. > :00:21.we have the women's skiff. Four boats tied on points. Looking to win

:00:22. > :00:37.that, the local sweetheart. It's Dan, taking over from Ore.

:00:38. > :00:42.Talking about Dylan Fletcher and Alain Sign, did they make the error

:00:43. > :00:46.because they were pushing it so far? Many might be watching for the first

:00:47. > :00:52.time and wondering why it happened. You joined us and four seconds later

:00:53. > :00:57.they capsized. It's pretty windy, pretty gusty, they were putting

:00:58. > :01:01.their boat in a situation they probably wouldn't have. They were

:01:02. > :01:06.probably pushing the limits of boat handling in these really fast boats.

:01:07. > :01:10.Just imagine how you will be feeling, your heart racing, making

:01:11. > :01:16.errors you wouldn't necessarily normally make. That whole

:01:17. > :01:22.combination, they knew what they had to do to medal here. It was a tall

:01:23. > :01:27.order in the final race. We saw what it meant for the friends and family

:01:28. > :01:33.on the side, you could see the anticipation and distress when they

:01:34. > :01:38.saw what had happened. You talked about the boat craft from the Kiwi

:01:39. > :01:43.pair, what have they got that makes them so much better than everybody

:01:44. > :01:48.else in the field? I asked them that often and there was no real answer.

:01:49. > :01:52.Just watching them, they work together very, very well, they

:01:53. > :01:57.sailed together a long, long time, sailed together for team New Zealand

:01:58. > :02:01.in the America's Cup as well. He's the brightest, shiniest talent, both

:02:02. > :02:05.of them, they are always together. They are smooth in the boat, change

:02:06. > :02:10.gears, when conditions change they change gears better than anyone

:02:11. > :02:15.else. They have raised the bar in this class, unbeaten for four years

:02:16. > :02:21.is quite the dominance, quite the show for everyone watching. Set up

:02:22. > :02:24.the last race of the regatta, what have we got to look forward to?

:02:25. > :02:29.You've done unbelievably well to stay in the boat, the sea has been

:02:30. > :02:35.rocky in the Marina da Gloria. What have we got to look forward to? The

:02:36. > :02:38.final race of the thinning, the 49 Fx, the women's equivalent of what

:02:39. > :02:43.we've been watching. It's so difficult to sail, you never sit

:02:44. > :02:48.down, standing up the entire time. This final has come down to the

:02:49. > :02:56.wire, there are four boats all tied on points, it is who beats who.

:02:57. > :03:02.Included in that four is Rio's sweetheart Grael, from a real

:03:03. > :03:06.sailing dynasty, her father has five gold medals, so does her uncle,

:03:07. > :03:14.their uncle has medals. The entire city will watch her and her crew,

:03:15. > :03:18.Kunze, to see how they get on. The media Centre this morning was

:03:19. > :03:27.packed, the locals have come to watch. The place will go mental if

:03:28. > :03:32.they pull it off. You've sold it to us, surely, we'll be back later for

:03:33. > :03:35.more sailing on BBC Four. Thank you, Shirley Robertson, we'll be back for

:03:36. > :03:43.the final race of the regatta on BBC Four. Welcome back to Copacabana

:03:44. > :03:47.beach, the triathlon was just here, this is where the Brownlee brothers

:03:48. > :03:51.did the business, we'll talk about them a lot more over the course of

:03:52. > :03:57.the next few hours. We might have them on BBC Four with us. Good

:03:58. > :03:59.afternoon from Rio, thank you for being with us. Let's show what's

:04:00. > :04:11.coming up on day 13 from Rio. The gold medal match in men's

:04:12. > :04:15.hockey, Belgium have been the form team throughout while Argentina

:04:16. > :04:22.stunned Germany in the semifinals. Neither team has ever won and

:04:23. > :04:26.Olympic title. Boxing ahead as we get to the semifinal stages

:04:27. > :04:30.including the Russian bantamweight at the heart of the judging

:04:31. > :04:41.controversy. We saw it a few days ago. That shock win over Ireland's

:04:42. > :04:46.Michael Conlon. The men's dream team may hog the limelight but the USA

:04:47. > :04:50.women's basketball team have a better record, chasing a sixth

:04:51. > :04:56.straight gold, we'll see them take on France in the semifinals. Here is

:04:57. > :05:01.the timing for the next few hours. Next on BBC Four, golf. You can see

:05:02. > :05:05.how it pans out over the next few hours.

:05:06. > :05:14.Jade Jones will be in action in the quarterfinals of tae kwon do.

:05:15. > :05:18.Followed by the women's ten metre platform final from eight featuring

:05:19. > :05:36.Tonia Couch. At ninth the men's hockey final.

:05:37. > :05:43.Let's show you the other channels at the moment. On BBC One I think they

:05:44. > :05:48.are showing the Nicola Adams fight once again. She was in the

:05:49. > :05:52.semifinals in the boxing ring, hoping to make it through to the

:05:53. > :05:57.gold-medal match to defend the title she won four years ago. As per

:05:58. > :06:01.usual, notes on the Red Button on the website and on the BBC sport

:06:02. > :06:06.app. We've got some volleyball on the Red Button. We saw a brilliant

:06:07. > :06:11.match between Italy and Iran. The Italian men managed to win in three

:06:12. > :06:15.sets. As promised, we got our editor Matt in a headlock yesterday, we'll

:06:16. > :06:19.bring you the best of Brazil against Argentina, late night here in Rio,

:06:20. > :06:25.even later back there in the UK, from yesterday. In the next few

:06:26. > :06:33.hours. All the normal bits and bobs, send your hashtags in. It is

:06:34. > :06:37.absolutely packed, this is perhaps the busiest day we've had so far,

:06:38. > :06:42.earlier on when the triathlon was taking this place was absolutely

:06:43. > :06:48.heaving and a lot of British support down here as well for the Brownlees.

:06:49. > :06:53.They might feature in our day 13 headlines.

:06:54. > :07:00.It was gold and silver for one family from Great Britain. The

:07:01. > :07:03.Yorkshire boys, the Brownlees dominated the event, Alistair

:07:04. > :07:09.crossed the line first, he was able to stroll and meet his brother

:07:10. > :07:14.Johnny, who took the silver. As we've been talking about, sailing,

:07:15. > :07:19.Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark confirmed gold in the women's 470

:07:20. > :07:24.classic. It was silver four years ago, they've done one better in Rio.

:07:25. > :07:28.In the men's double kayak Liam Hughes and John Scofield had silver

:07:29. > :07:33.snatched away on the line in 2012, reversal of fortune as they were the

:07:34. > :07:43.team that squeezed home in second place. Ellis and Langridge, we

:07:44. > :07:47.followed them on BBC Four, an amazing and unexpected bronze medal

:07:48. > :07:50.in the men's pairs beating the fifth-ranked Chinese pair in the

:07:51. > :07:57.bronze medal match, they will go home to Great Britain with a

:07:58. > :08:05.precious metal from these games. -- precious metal. We showed you Nicola

:08:06. > :08:09.Adams fighting, the replay on BBC One. Nicola Adams into the final.

:08:10. > :08:17.Beating one of her great opponents. She will now fight for the gold

:08:18. > :08:22.medal. All of that to come, those are the headlines. Plenty here for

:08:23. > :08:25.you. We are right through the night. Thank you for being with us over the

:08:26. > :08:29.course of these Olympic Games until 2pm. We like to get your reaction

:08:30. > :08:33.not only to the sport you are watching, but the things we see

:08:34. > :08:37.around us. We might get played out by life musicians again this

:08:38. > :08:41.evening. And getting accused of making promises I can't keep. Can we

:08:42. > :08:46.have a look around? Look how many people are down here, we've even

:08:47. > :08:55.position some linchpins. We're trying to get the Copacabana binmen

:08:56. > :08:59.to come as close as possible. One of these people has to be a musician,

:09:00. > :09:04.we demand you come on BBC Four and play us out. And there is a pigeon.

:09:05. > :09:07.It's all happening on Copacabana. Yesterday Charley Hull was having a

:09:08. > :09:14.great time in the first round of the Gulf, three off the lead. Day two

:09:15. > :09:19.has been taking place today. Day two of a four Day competition. This can

:09:20. > :09:24.bring us up-to-date with what has happened on day two.

:09:25. > :09:32.Charley Hull, going back to Stacy Lewis for a moment, 11 birdies. She

:09:33. > :09:40.hadn't have a double bogey and the other bogey, she would have broken

:09:41. > :09:49.60. She dropped three shots with double bogey and bogey on two holes.

:09:50. > :10:02.And 11 birdies from the other 16 holes. Charley Hull, four under for

:10:03. > :10:11.her round. This for a round of 66. Only one bogey on her card, it came

:10:12. > :10:21.as early as the second hole. Good putt, good putt. She's nicely

:10:22. > :10:26.positioned for the weekend, for the last two rounds. You must be pleased

:10:27. > :10:31.with one shot off the lead. I felt I hit it pretty good. Started with

:10:32. > :10:35.birdie, finished with birdie, I'm pretty happy. It must be funny to

:10:36. > :10:39.see your name second on the leaderboard at the Olympic golf

:10:40. > :10:42.tournament. It's pretty cool, because it's the Olympics it's

:10:43. > :10:45.different seeing your name on the Olympic leaderboard, pretty cool. At

:10:46. > :10:49.the end of the day I'm trying to treat it as another event, don't

:10:50. > :10:54.want to make myself too nervous, I'm pretty happy with the way I'm

:10:55. > :11:02.playing. This is for a round of 63. For the United States's Stacy Lewis.

:11:03. > :11:08.What a round of golf that has been, 63, by far the low round of the day.

:11:09. > :11:14.Congratulations, 11 birdies in a round, four in a row to finish, what

:11:15. > :11:18.went right? The putter, I didn't know where I stood, how many birdies

:11:19. > :11:22.I'd made, I was so focused on the next shot, trying to make birdies.

:11:23. > :11:27.The scores are low, girls were going out and shooting good numbers, I was

:11:28. > :11:31.trying to keep up. You the clubhouse lead, twice major winner, twice

:11:32. > :11:35.world Player of the Year, where would an Olympic medal rank in your

:11:36. > :11:39.achievements? It would be up there near the top for sure, winning this,

:11:40. > :11:42.it's not a major championship, nothing like a regular event, it's

:11:43. > :11:48.just the Olympics. This week has been so special so far, had so much

:11:49. > :11:49.fun at other events hanging out with other athletes, I can't wait for the

:11:50. > :11:57.rest of the week. That was Stacy Lewis, who leads the

:11:58. > :12:03.way with Charley Hull in a great position just one off the lead after

:12:04. > :12:07.five under today. A packed leaderboard, nine of the top ten

:12:08. > :12:13.female golfers in the world are here in Rio to try and win the gold medal

:12:14. > :12:18.this week. Inbee Park of South Korea is level with Charley Hull. Has a

:12:19. > :12:22.couple of holes left to play, we can see her in action for 15 minutes,

:12:23. > :12:26.because we'll go back to the Marina da Gloria to see the final race of

:12:27. > :12:34.the sailing regatta shortly. Here is Inbee Park playing the 16th, this is

:12:35. > :12:40.live golf on BBC Four. Described by Alan Wilkins and Brendan Telfer.

:12:41. > :12:54.COMMENTATOR: Second thoughts. Two years running, the LPGA tour money

:12:55. > :13:02.went up in 2012, 2013, the 2013 LPGA Player of the Year. She's been

:13:03. > :13:11.there, got the shirt. Done it all. And still just 28 years of age.

:13:12. > :13:15.Inbee Park. Looks a bit woody, didn't it? It's going to work

:13:16. > :13:30.beautifully. Lexi Thompson could do with this

:13:31. > :13:38.going in. To come home strongly. This would boost her chances for 16,

:13:39. > :13:43.17, 18. Good putt, she has drained a putt at last. Back two under. Those

:13:44. > :13:48.bogeys, look at that, birdies on 13 and 15. Been a bit of a struggle

:13:49. > :13:59.today for Lexi Thompson. One over for the round. Three finishing holes

:14:00. > :14:03.ahead of her. Having to come up and back again. It's the price you can

:14:04. > :14:13.pay if you missed the 17th green. A very steep slope. Didn't need much

:14:14. > :14:18.more. She's having two bad holes here. She missed her birdie on the

:14:19. > :14:22.previous hole after literally driving the green. Playing her

:14:23. > :14:35.third. She might have overcompensated here. OK. She'll

:14:36. > :14:51.have that for a bogey. We all know how she feels. You're not kidding.

:14:52. > :14:53.Second shot to 60 four Spain's Munoz. Tough shot from where she

:14:54. > :15:09.was. Tremendous second shot in here from

:15:10. > :15:16.Canada's Brook Henderson, this is for birdie to get to five under par.

:15:17. > :15:17.The pink putter going well today. Just 18 years of age, Brooke

:15:18. > :15:51.Henderson, 18 years of age. just stalking the green here, trying

:15:52. > :16:32.to figure out how to get the ball into the hole, for two.

:16:33. > :16:41.Yes, two cool shots she had to play if she wanted a birdie and she

:16:42. > :16:53.played them both to perfection. She comes away with a birdie three.

:16:54. > :16:59.This, if birdie, thank you. -- for birdie. On the 15th, Suzanne

:17:00. > :17:23.Pettersen for par. Just rushed that putt a little, and

:17:24. > :17:30.has to settle for a bogey now. The birdie, to get her to 6-under as

:17:31. > :17:39.well. She has the three finishing holes up ahead of her. Oh, yes. Just

:17:40. > :17:46.got there. It was clearly a very slick, fast, downhill putt. The

:17:47. > :17:49.chance for birdie, putting a blight on the ball. Any more pace on that

:17:50. > :17:57.and it probably would have stayed out. All gone in the cup and stayed

:17:58. > :18:05.out, but she has gone to 6-under for three shots of the lead, so three of

:18:06. > :18:17.the Americans are firing today, Stacy Lewis and Gerina Piller. This,

:18:18. > :18:31.for a share of the lead, basically. It would take her to the top of the

:18:32. > :18:32.leaderboard to join Stacy Lewis. She just seemed to

:18:33. > :18:41.close the club face a little on the ball and so it slipped underneath

:18:42. > :18:45.the hole, so that's disappointing for Inbee Park. It will feel like a

:18:46. > :18:56.bogey that she has made here on this hole. Meanwhile, this is a bogey for

:18:57. > :19:11.the day Anna Madsen. -- for the Dane. 18 years of age, Brooke

:19:12. > :19:23.Henderson. You wonder who was born first, Brooke Henderson or Aditi

:19:24. > :19:33.Ashok. She won three offence on the Canadian women's Tour while still an

:19:34. > :19:38.amateur. -- free events. -- three events. Good grip down the shaft,

:19:39. > :19:46.there. She has already obviously decided to take on the green. Get

:19:47. > :19:52.up, get up. Oh, bad luck. It needed to roll the other way and it would

:19:53. > :20:00.have been very close to the hole. See how she's looking down the

:20:01. > :20:06.shaft. And look at that backswing. It is a long, long backswing, isn't

:20:07. > :20:13.it? One of the biggest hurdles on the LPGA Tour. Trying to truncate

:20:14. > :20:20.the hole, with a good swing to stop the ball from going too far past the

:20:21. > :20:22.green, although it has finished up in the bunker. Lexi Thompson, coming

:20:23. > :20:40.off that birdie. That looked like a four or 5-iron.

:20:41. > :20:50.It did not look that much. She does hit the ball a long way. But that's

:20:51. > :21:07.fine. She's in about the same position as the Spanish player was a

:21:08. > :21:13.few minutes ago, Ninos. That is a kind of situation that Lexi Thompson

:21:14. > :21:32.will find herself in in a. Here she is on 17, Ninos. She only talks to

:21:33. > :21:48.her golf ball in English. She has said at the last few holes, sit,

:21:49. > :21:50.sit, sit. Sit down. Suzanne Pettersen, the last to go in this

:21:51. > :22:05.final group. Really doesn't like this. If it catches the downslope...

:22:06. > :22:06.It is not as ugly as it sounded. She is going to have trouble stopping

:22:07. > :22:21.the ball in front of the hole. As promised were going to leave the

:22:22. > :22:24.golf. We will give you an update later on. You can watch it on the

:22:25. > :22:30.Red Button or through the BBC website. You can find everything

:22:31. > :22:36.that is on on the BBC sport app. Charley Hull is one of the lead held

:22:37. > :22:45.by Stacy Lewis of the USA. They are at 9-under an 8-under respectively.

:22:46. > :22:49.We're going to take you back to the sailing, as promised. We have

:22:50. > :22:54.covered it for the last week or so. And we're now at the stage when it

:22:55. > :23:02.is the final race of the regatta. This is the women's skiff, the 49er

:23:03. > :23:08.FX. Ainsworth and Dobson of Great Britain in seventh with no chance of

:23:09. > :23:12.a medal, but as surely can feel as in, there is some home interest and

:23:13. > :23:20.the race for gold is going to be fascinating. Literally. It just

:23:21. > :23:26.started a few minutes ago. It is a 4- way tie. And included in that is

:23:27. > :23:36.the local sweethearts. The place is packed with Brazilian flags. As I am

:23:37. > :23:48.excited, we will now join our commentary team. You join us halfway

:23:49. > :23:53.up on the 49er FX class. New Zealand controlling the pack at the bottom

:23:54. > :23:56.of your screen. Out in front by the narrowest of margins is the number

:23:57. > :24:09.one pair, Martine Grael and Kahena

:24:10. > :24:13.Kunze. As the wind drops they have to bend their legs and get their

:24:14. > :24:17.body weight in a little bit. You can see the wind, the darker patch on

:24:18. > :24:21.the water. When they get that gust of wind, they have to get up on

:24:22. > :24:26.tiptoes and get their body weight out as much as possible. All of that

:24:27. > :24:30.is critical to the boat speed. This will be tight at the top, with the

:24:31. > :24:36.Brazilians and the Kiwis in good shape as we head up to the top of

:24:37. > :24:47.the first leg. Brazil fighting for the lead. Grael and Kunze will be

:24:48. > :24:48.aware, but New Zealand have to content with the French. Coming

:24:49. > :25:00.together. It is going to be close. Germany

:25:01. > :25:05.coming in as well. And New Zealand crossing over the balance of Brazil

:25:06. > :25:18.and Denmark. Italy on the inside of them to the first cross and the lead

:25:19. > :25:22.goes to New Zealand. At the top of the course, Italy grounding in first

:25:23. > :25:29.place, New Zealand in second place, Brazil coming in with the

:25:30. > :25:33.Netherlands and Germany, and that speed for the world number one pair

:25:34. > :25:50.means that they were all clean over the top of the pack. On board now

:25:51. > :25:54.with Germany. And Great Britain now round the top of the course,

:25:55. > :25:58.Charlotte Dobson and Sophie Ainsworth trying to get themselves

:25:59. > :26:02.into fifth place overall, medal hopes sadly not a possibility in

:26:03. > :26:11.this final race, however, they have a chance to make an impact on the

:26:12. > :26:18.overall scoreboard. In second place, Alex Maloney and Molly Meech behind

:26:19. > :26:26.the Italians, and in front of them, the world number one pair, Grael and

:26:27. > :26:30.Kunze, sailing into the beach. And Molly Meech, her brother has already

:26:31. > :26:37.won upon is medal in the laser class. The Brazilians have elected

:26:38. > :26:42.to follow them. They have elected to just try and stay in touch, not to

:26:43. > :26:46.take too much risk. The Danes have split out towards the top of your

:26:47. > :26:52.screen. These are all contenders. It is newbies who on the water for the

:26:53. > :26:58.Gold Medal. Italy in the lead with New Zealand very close behind. Watch

:26:59. > :27:03.the Brazilians. Spain, Brazil, Denmark and New Zealand all coming

:27:04. > :27:06.into this race, pretty much joint un-points. The positions as they

:27:07. > :27:15.crossed the finish line will decide gold, silver and bronze. New Zealand

:27:16. > :27:19.in second. Only a few boat lengths off the race leader of Italy at the

:27:20. > :27:26.moment. The Italians in sixth place overall with no opportunity to move

:27:27. > :27:31.inside the top four. Thing is looking good for the Kiwis right

:27:32. > :27:37.now. They are in second place. The Italians don't matter too much. That

:27:38. > :27:42.is a course change, the- means that it is a reduction in course length

:27:43. > :27:48.because of a change in the wind. Brazil in fourth, trying to get back

:27:49. > :27:55.in the lead, trying to control New Zealand, their main rival for the

:27:56. > :28:07.Gold Medal. And at the bottom of the course, Italy, the world number

:28:08. > :28:10.seven pair, Francesca Clapcich and Giulia Conti.

:28:11. > :28:19.But Maloney and Molly Meech electing to split. Just on the left-hand side

:28:20. > :28:31.of your picture Brazil coming in ahead of the Danish pair. And Brazil

:28:32. > :28:35.going for the gybe. Denmark just happen to go wide. Just being forced

:28:36. > :28:44.to give room to the team from the Netherlands. Brands managing to get

:28:45. > :28:48.clear ahead of Spain. -- France. Now Germany rounding behind Spain.

:28:49. > :28:52.Dobson and Ainsworth of Britain going around the bottom of the

:28:53. > :28:59.course. It is very tight, and the second capsize that we have seen on

:29:00. > :29:04.the waters here. Now it is the British women, Charlotte Dobson and

:29:05. > :29:07.so the Ainsworth capsizing at the bottom of the course. That would

:29:08. > :29:13.just leave them with more work to do for the next two lapse. What on

:29:14. > :29:19.earth is going on at the bottom gate? There must be differences in

:29:20. > :29:23.wind strength. It looked like a simple rounding, but maybe a gust of

:29:24. > :29:27.wind saw them toppling over. These are very powered up Bosz. They are

:29:28. > :29:31.back up now. They need to get moving. I don't think they hit the

:29:32. > :29:37.mark. They have got to just shoot on and catch up with the back of the

:29:38. > :29:41.fleet. France in the group heading towards the beach. In the lead at

:29:42. > :29:50.the moment it is the New Zealand pair, which means that Alex Maloney

:29:51. > :29:54.and Molly Meech RND Gold Medal position as it stands, but they have

:29:55. > :29:57.a fight on their hands. Italy on top of them, but it is Spain, Brazil and

:29:58. > :30:07.Denmark that they need to watch. The Brazilians look very lifted up,

:30:08. > :30:10.sailing close to the wind, the New Zealanders in the middle of the

:30:11. > :30:14.screen are desperately trying to get across to cover them. Covering is

:30:15. > :30:17.when you man mark your opposition and get close to them, between them

:30:18. > :30:20.and the mark you are aiming for, they are looking to get in the

:30:21. > :30:25.position, that is when they will have them under control. When spread

:30:26. > :30:29.out over the sea there is plenty of opportunity for gains and losses.

:30:30. > :30:34.Italy take the lead on the way to the top of the course. However, that

:30:35. > :30:39.is no concern to the New Zealand pair. The world number three, Alex

:30:40. > :30:47.Moloney, and Molly need, head of their rivals. They are in the gold

:30:48. > :30:50.medal position. Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze have silver, they only

:30:51. > :30:59.need to close down on the New Zealanders. Gold will be theirs.

:31:00. > :31:04.This next cross could be crucial. We saw in the race earlier that the

:31:05. > :31:08.cross to the top of the course, you can get your spinnaker up and get

:31:09. > :31:11.away, then... We were looking at a cross but we can see the New

:31:12. > :31:16.Zealanders have attached to the right-hand side so we will have to

:31:17. > :31:20.wait longer to see how it plays out. 150 metres to go for the top of the

:31:21. > :31:24.course, Italy on the right-hand side of your screen is reaching delay

:31:25. > :31:29.line, the point they want to tack over, and make their way to that

:31:30. > :31:32.mark. It's not efficient to keep sailing out that way. They are

:31:33. > :31:36.pushing it right to the limit here at the moment so maybe a little bit

:31:37. > :31:41.of current on the course, just meaning it's good to sail right to

:31:42. > :31:47.the limit. Now the Italian pair attacking over. Underneath them, New

:31:48. > :31:50.Zealand coming up in second place. We can see the New Zealanders and

:31:51. > :31:57.Brazilians are split, this is going to be crucial when they come back

:31:58. > :32:00.together. The New Zealanders tack, that is delay line, the point at

:32:01. > :32:08.which they can set a direct line to the windward mark. Conti and bees

:32:09. > :32:11.from Italy, the world number seven pair, leading the final race in the

:32:12. > :32:18.women's high-performance class, safely around the top mark. Behind

:32:19. > :32:23.them, the Battle for gold medal between New Zealand and Brazil is

:32:24. > :32:29.going the way of Alex Moloney and Molly Meech from New Zealand. They

:32:30. > :32:34.are around in second place. Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze from Brazil a

:32:35. > :32:44.very slow tack, putting them third at the moment. Next to come round

:32:45. > :32:49.will be the French. The big question is, who is going to take that bronze

:32:50. > :32:54.medal position as it stands? Denmark coming in from the top of your

:32:55. > :32:58.screen, a very tight tack, slightly slow to back away, the helm falling

:32:59. > :33:03.onto her knees, unable to get on the bear away, this is the battle

:33:04. > :33:09.between bronze. Denmark and Spain, Denmark in the lead, but they've

:33:10. > :33:13.lost the advantage. Just on top of Denmark as we are looking on board

:33:14. > :33:18.is the Spanish pair, Denmark just managing to get their spinnaker up

:33:19. > :33:22.and get clear away. It's a big test of fitness at this stage, three

:33:23. > :33:27.laps, normally they only do two. Three today, it'll be a really big

:33:28. > :33:31.test of how well they are physically prepared, the mistakes start to

:33:32. > :33:36.creep in. In the lead, still the Italians, Conti and Clapcich in the

:33:37. > :33:43.lead. New Zealand second, Brazil third. It's rapidly developing into

:33:44. > :33:46.a match race between New Zealand and the Brazilians, the Brazilians did a

:33:47. > :33:49.nice spinnaker set, setting their spinnaker and getting down inside

:33:50. > :33:53.the New Zealanders. The New Zealanders have jibed halfway down

:33:54. > :33:57.the run, you can see on the right of your screens. There is a split,

:33:58. > :34:06.Brazilians on the left, then they have two jibed and judge delay line.

:34:07. > :34:11.-- judge the low line. Italy jibing to make their way to the bottom.

:34:12. > :34:15.It's not a perfect jibe, but they have enough of a lead that it

:34:16. > :34:20.doesn't hurt them at the moment. New Zealand behind in the gold medal

:34:21. > :34:24.position at the moment. At the bottom of the course Italy in the

:34:25. > :34:29.lead but on the right-hand side of the picture, Brazil and New Zealand

:34:30. > :34:33.coming together. Italy with a less than perfect grounding at the

:34:34. > :34:36.bottom, leading the medal race, but New Zealand crosses the bow of the

:34:37. > :34:44.world number one pair from Brazil, this is the battle for the gold

:34:45. > :34:49.medal and Alex Maloney and Molly Meech from New Zealand are currently

:34:50. > :34:52.on top. New Zealand round the bottom, no surprise to see the

:34:53. > :34:55.Brazilian pair splitting, making their way onto the other side of the

:34:56. > :35:00.course hoping for a different injuries. The Brazilians are playing

:35:01. > :35:05.this absolutely right, keeping pressure on the New Zealanders,

:35:06. > :35:10.don't take any huge risks. Sailing very nicely, very good boat

:35:11. > :35:14.handling, just keep the pressure on. At the bottom of the course now,

:35:15. > :35:21.France ahead of Denmark, who heads in the fight for the gold medal as

:35:22. > :35:24.well. -- who is in the fight. Denmark going round the of Germany,

:35:25. > :35:29.their main rival, nearest bow to them. Spain splitting and going

:35:30. > :35:35.around the other side of the course. Denmark and Spain still fixed for

:35:36. > :35:43.the bronze medal battle right to the line. The Netherlands next to go

:35:44. > :35:47.around. This is what we were talking about earlier, this is the

:35:48. > :35:52.opportunity for Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze from Brazil to win the

:35:53. > :35:56.gold medal for the home crowd, everybody's out here on the beach to

:35:57. > :36:01.cheer them across the line. It could be gold, could be silver, it may be

:36:02. > :36:05.bronze or they might slip off the podium, we'll have to wait right

:36:06. > :36:08.till the finish line to see. Great Britain coming down to the bottom of

:36:09. > :36:12.the course just behind the United States. They had a disappointing

:36:13. > :36:18.moment on the first lap where they capsized at the bottom, now having

:36:19. > :36:22.to play catch-up. In third place at the moment, New Zealand. The

:36:23. > :36:26.Brazilians carried all the way out of the left-hand side, all the way

:36:27. > :36:30.to the top of your screen. The New Zealanders have had to put a couple

:36:31. > :36:34.of tax in already, complete difference of opinion. Martine Grael

:36:35. > :36:39.grew up sailing in these waters, she grew up on the other side of the

:36:40. > :36:42.bay, what must be going through her head right now? So close to a medal,

:36:43. > :36:49.so close to a gold medal in her hometown. We're halfway up, the

:36:50. > :36:54.final up wins leg well inside the last lap for the medal race here in

:36:55. > :37:00.the women's high-performance 49 Fx. New Zealand gold medal position.

:37:01. > :37:08.Brazil looking at silver medal if they cannot close down the distance

:37:09. > :37:15.with Alex Maloney and Molly Meech. Bronze going the way of Denmark but

:37:16. > :37:18.Spain in tight pursuit. We talked about the effect of Sugarloaf

:37:19. > :37:23.Mountain and what it does to the wind. Right now they will be saying

:37:24. > :37:26.prayers, the wind coming around Sugarloaf Mountain is going to

:37:27. > :37:30.favour the Brazilian boat, they are on the left-hand side, no more

:37:31. > :37:34.options for them. New Zealanders out on the right-hand side, here at the

:37:35. > :37:41.bottom of your screen. Who is going to be first at the cross at the top

:37:42. > :37:48.mark? 200 metres to go before these boats around the top for the last

:37:49. > :37:54.time. The final race for the 49er FX and the final race for sailing at

:37:55. > :37:57.Rio 2016. A four way battle between Brazil, New Zealand, Spain and

:37:58. > :38:01.Denmark. It'll come down to this final leg. Shirley Robinson is

:38:02. > :38:08.watching all the action. This will come down right to the finish.

:38:09. > :38:11.The place is packed with media and photographers, twice as many as

:38:12. > :38:18.we've seen in any other race, just trying to look towards

:38:19. > :38:22.Sugarloaf to see who is going to come out on top. Is Brazil's

:38:23. > :38:30.sweetheart going to win the gold medal? It's very exciting. Thank

:38:31. > :38:35.you, surely. Nearing the top of the course, Brazil looking very strong.

:38:36. > :38:39.Ian was saying the left-hand side could pay for them in the closing

:38:40. > :38:44.stages and it looks like it has done just that. Martine Grael and Kahena

:38:45. > :38:50.Kunze take the lead going into the final leg. Alex Maloney and Molly

:38:51. > :38:56.Meech of New Zealand are going to have a lot of work to do. A big

:38:57. > :39:04.moment for Brazilian fans. They are in first place, they are in gold

:39:05. > :39:09.medal position. Alex Maloney and Molly Meech from New Zealand are in

:39:10. > :39:14.silver unless they can close down on the Brazilians. The Brazilians very

:39:15. > :39:21.quick to jibed once they saw the Kiwi attack, the Brazilians straight

:39:22. > :39:25.white jibed to port, they don't want to give them an inch. This is the

:39:26. > :39:29.gold medal moment, down the run, in her hometown, this will be an

:39:30. > :39:34.extraordinary story should they pull this off. At the moment gold is with

:39:35. > :39:39.Brazil, silver with New Zealand, then bronzes with Denmark. This is

:39:40. > :39:45.the battle at the front of the field, New Zealand still has a

:39:46. > :39:48.chance, they are sailing taped to the beach, Brazil have positioned

:39:49. > :39:57.themselves leeward, underneath the New Zealand pair. Brazil going for

:39:58. > :40:01.the jibe right in the face of Alex Maloney and Molly Meech from New

:40:02. > :40:05.Zealand. They look like calmness personified, I can't believe that is

:40:06. > :40:08.how they feel, this is a crucial moment, if they lay down to the

:40:09. > :40:13.finish line, the gold medal should go to Brazil. If they have to make

:40:14. > :40:22.another jibe they will have two jibe on to port tack and the Kiwis will

:40:23. > :40:26.be on star but tack. The advantages with the Brazilian pair, but it's

:40:27. > :40:30.diminishing all the time, New Zealand finding some very nice

:40:31. > :40:34.breeze, now we're seeing 20 minutes the lead. New Zealand working hard

:40:35. > :40:39.to try and get through the left-hand side of Brazil. We are closing down

:40:40. > :40:45.to the finish line, it will be straight across the finish, no more

:40:46. > :40:49.marks, no more terms, it is a drag race into the finish. New Zealand

:40:50. > :40:54.sailing a little high, Brazil finding the breeze. The big question

:40:55. > :41:00.is, are they pointing at the finishing line or have they got

:41:01. > :41:04.another jibe to do? It's going to be very close here, Brazil in the lead

:41:05. > :41:07.trying to work their way down. New Zealand looked like they will come

:41:08. > :41:11.across the finish line with no more terms, Brazil looking better and

:41:12. > :41:16.better by the second. Brazil still in the lead, the gold medal about to

:41:17. > :41:22.go to the world number one pair, Brazil, Martine Grael and Kahena

:41:23. > :41:26.Kunze bear the 49er FX away, they are barely crossing the finish line,

:41:27. > :41:33.it'll be a jibe right on the finish line. And its gold for Brazil,

:41:34. > :41:38.coming down to the final bow length. A huge moment aboard the Brazilian

:41:39. > :41:43.boat. The 49er FX capsizes as Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze hug

:41:44. > :41:50.each other and fall into the water. The silver medal will go to Alex

:41:51. > :41:54.Maloney and Molly Meech from New Zealand, and the bronzes with Hansen

:41:55. > :42:05.and Salskov-Iversen from Denmark. The last race of the real Olympics,

:42:06. > :42:10.in the 49er FX, and it was the closest, coming down to the line. It

:42:11. > :42:13.was an extraordinary performance, they did everything right, they were

:42:14. > :42:18.behind, they didn't panic, they kept the pressure run, they were fast,

:42:19. > :42:22.kept the manoeuvres down. When they got in front they covered their

:42:23. > :42:26.nearest rivals. Maybe they a fraction too early, they were high

:42:27. > :42:31.on lay line, had to slow down right at the end. It doesn't matter any

:42:32. > :42:35.more, they got the jibe in, used the inside of the final finishing line,

:42:36. > :42:39.and they are Olympic champions in their own back garden. You can see

:42:40. > :42:43.what it means to them, and you can hear what it means to the spectators

:42:44. > :42:46.on the shore. This is a big moment here for Brazil. Shirley Robinson is

:42:47. > :42:56.on the water. The final event of the sailing

:42:57. > :43:17.venue, a hometown victory, what a race.

:43:18. > :43:33.Amazing scenes where watching on the sides of the Marina da Gloria. What

:43:34. > :43:39.a finish to that race. You said the press office was packed. The press

:43:40. > :43:46.centre full of people. We've seen on the banks so many people there. The

:43:47. > :43:50.celebrations, I don't know if you can see them, delighted by what's

:43:51. > :43:56.happened. Another, a fourth gold medal for the host nation. I could

:43:57. > :44:00.hear it, never mind see it, you can hear it, Brazilian mayhem. Behind

:44:01. > :44:07.me, banks of photographers. The girls, the heroes, Martine Grael and

:44:08. > :44:12.Kahena Kunze... Whoa... Right in the middle of it. They won on the final

:44:13. > :44:15.leg of the very final race, nerves of steel. What a performance from

:44:16. > :44:26.these two. She today she will be crowned the Queen

:44:27. > :44:31.of Rio. People may be watching a race of this sort for the first time

:44:32. > :44:35.in the UK tonight, how rare is it for a race of that magnitude to come

:44:36. > :44:44.down to a margin like that? Very bad, they did 12 races before they

:44:45. > :44:49.got to this race today four boats came in on equal points, it was who

:44:50. > :44:52.beats who on this tiny Stadium course, right under Sugarloaf.

:44:53. > :44:58.Anything could have happened. Can you imagine how they felt? The

:44:59. > :45:03.pressure, the nerves. Not for them. They held their nerve to the bitter

:45:04. > :45:09.end. Really impressive from the young Brazilians. A word about the

:45:10. > :45:13.British crew, Sophie Ainsworth and Charlotte Dobson, as we saw in the

:45:14. > :45:16.penultimate race, we can see them approaching the finish now, not the

:45:17. > :45:21.race they would have wanted. Not the competition they would have wanted.

:45:22. > :45:26.I feel for them, they put together a very strong series. They did well,

:45:27. > :45:31.just towards the end it didn't quite go their way. In the medal race,

:45:32. > :45:37.partly nerves, first Olympic Games. Partly, it was ridiculously tricky.

:45:38. > :45:39.Paphos dropping of Sugarloaf. They'll be disappointed to finish

:45:40. > :45:41.their Olympic Games like that but I'm sure they'll be back. It's all

:45:42. > :46:01.kicking off. You get in there, we will let you

:46:02. > :46:12.find your corner. What a moment that was for Brazil. The host nation's

:46:13. > :46:16.fourth gold medal. Later gold in the judo and in the pole vault. If you

:46:17. > :46:25.haven't seen that have a look on the iPlayer. If you stayed up for that,

:46:26. > :46:31.it was well worth watching. And finally and maybe that will inspire

:46:32. > :46:35.another one. We have had Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze winning in

:46:36. > :46:40.the sailing regatta. Earlier, we showed you some of the golf, the

:46:41. > :46:45.final few walls of the second round. Charley Hull of Team GB is a good

:46:46. > :46:49.position. She had finished around at eight under par, the leaders were at

:46:50. > :46:54.nine under, and one of those was Inbee of South Korea. This was a

:46:55. > :47:00.birdie putt on the 17th from six feet. She was level at this stage

:47:01. > :47:04.with Charley Hull at eight under. This Pejoine leader Stacy Lewis at

:47:05. > :47:09.nine under par, and of course she wrote that in. She very rarely shows

:47:10. > :47:14.any emotion, Inbee Park. We can join it live at the 18th to see if she

:47:15. > :47:20.can finish off in style as well. We will pick up with Alan Wilkins and

:47:21. > :47:24.Brendan Telfer to see how Inbee Park can finish the golf. She is the

:47:25. > :48:05.joint leader at the moment in the second round at nine under par.

:48:06. > :48:21.This is for a round of 69. Good-looking putt. That is a super

:48:22. > :48:29.putt to finish for Munoz of Spain. That is a 69. And she has followed

:48:30. > :48:38.that up with a first-round 68. She is 5-under for the Championship. A

:48:39. > :48:52.kiss from her partner. Now, this for the outright lead with

:48:53. > :49:06.the final stroke of her second round. Yes, the birdie to finish

:49:07. > :49:09.with, getting her to 10-under for the card, and the outright lead in

:49:10. > :49:18.the women's Olympic golf at the halfway stage. The greens bobbling a

:49:19. > :49:25.little bit now, late in the day. She just got enough of the ball over the

:49:26. > :49:37.hole to make four. Four consecutive rounds of 66. Hall of Famer Inbee

:49:38. > :49:42.Park at 10-under from Stacy Lewis and then Charley Hull of Great

:49:43. > :49:45.Britain at eight. That is a good up and down from the American. She

:49:46. > :49:51.could have dropped a couple of shots on those last holes, but she didn't

:49:52. > :49:56.drop any. A smile on her face because she is in the mix for sure,

:49:57. > :50:04.four shots behind Inbee Park, the leader. 69, today, from the

:50:05. > :50:11.American. Some wonderful golf again, today, the second day. It appears

:50:12. > :50:22.that Inbee Park and Stacy Lewis will be playing together tomorrow. If

:50:23. > :50:26.they continue to play in threes, which I would imagine they would, it

:50:27. > :50:33.will be Charley Hull with them, by the look of it.

:50:34. > :50:40.It is a little bit cloudy in Rio today. The temperature is dropping

:50:41. > :50:45.at this time of day, and there's the golf leaderboard for you. Inbee Park

:50:46. > :50:49.finishing with a birdie, birdie and has a 1-shot lead going into the

:50:50. > :50:54.third round tomorrow. She is 10-under, one ahead of Stacy Lewis.

:50:55. > :51:00.And a 5-under round for Charley Hull, taking her 28-under, so she

:51:01. > :51:06.will be amongst the leaders tomorrow in that third round, two of the lead

:51:07. > :51:10.from Inbee Park. There are some still out on the course. We will

:51:11. > :51:14.bring you updates if there's any impact on the leaderboard. And we

:51:15. > :51:17.will try to bring you as much from Charley Hull tomorrow in the third

:51:18. > :51:22.round as we possibly can. The fourth round will be on Saturday. We will

:51:23. > :51:26.show you plenty of that on BBC Four. If Charley Hull is going for a medal

:51:27. > :51:31.that will be fantastic when you consider Justin Rose winning the

:51:32. > :51:35.Gold Medal, and embracing the Olympics from the start. He embraced

:51:36. > :51:39.the Olympics from the moment was announced that golf would be in the

:51:40. > :51:43.Olympics. He came here, he went to as much as you possibly could,

:51:44. > :51:47.really enjoyed himself and entered into the Olympic spirit, then he

:51:48. > :51:52.produced the goods with the Olympic gold. Brazil are enjoying themselves

:51:53. > :51:56.as well, because this is down at the banks of the Marina da Gloria, to

:51:57. > :52:02.the other side of the Sugarloaf from where we are. Those are the ones

:52:03. > :52:08.with the life jackets on, the Gold Medal winners. Everyone else, no

:52:09. > :52:13.idea. Friends, family members, random s, they are all enjoying

:52:14. > :52:16.themselves. We have heard lots about the quality of the water in

:52:17. > :52:20.Guanabara Bay, but I am not sure that they are very concerned. They

:52:21. > :52:25.are celebrating the fourth Gold Medal of the games for Brazil. And a

:52:26. > :52:32.bit of synchronised swimming, as well! We might bring you some of

:52:33. > :52:39.that little bit later on. It is beautiful to see, isn't it? Some

:52:40. > :52:42.people are pointing out that when I hold my microphone like this it

:52:43. > :52:51.looks like I have got awful sweat patches on my shirt, but I am

:52:52. > :52:54.actually sweat free. That is an entirely different thing. Shall we

:52:55. > :53:00.leave that there are? Let's show you some boxing. Keep sending in your

:53:01. > :53:06.tweets. We have some men's middleweight boxing that took place

:53:07. > :53:14.earlier on today. Some of the pronunciations of the names in the

:53:15. > :53:21.boxing are magnificent. This is Rodriguez of Mexico facing an

:53:22. > :53:31.opponent from Uzbekistan. Thankfully, I am not calling this

:53:32. > :53:37.one, Richie Woodall is. We're in the first round of the seven if I

:53:38. > :53:43.kilogram heavyweight semifinal. The boxers competing to determine who

:53:44. > :53:53.goes through to face the gold-medal bout. The man in the red is

:53:54. > :53:57.Rodriguez, ranked 15th in the world, and his opponent in blue, two years

:53:58. > :54:00.younger, the 20-year-old, incredibly talented number two seed, third

:54:01. > :54:17.ranked boxer in the world, and that is the man in blue has lovely

:54:18. > :54:25.skills. Excellent stuff. It will be a test for him. If Rodriguez stays

:54:26. > :54:29.on the front foot, and that is the style of the Mexican, then if he can

:54:30. > :54:35.put this boxer from Uzbekistan under pressure, he might get through with

:54:36. > :54:42.some better shots. But make no mistake, his opponent is a talent.

:54:43. > :54:46.He really is. It is worth keeping an eye on Rodriguez. He has had

:54:47. > :54:53.repeated trouble with his mouth guard at this point in the contest.

:54:54. > :54:59.It came out in his opening round. Then it came up repeatedly, three

:55:00. > :55:05.times, in his contest at the quarterfinal stage. So much so, that

:55:06. > :55:10.he was docked a point for that repeated interaction of the rules.

:55:11. > :55:15.We don't know if it has been replaced or refitted. He was

:55:16. > :55:18.sporting black mouthpiece before, looks like he has a more

:55:19. > :55:25.conventional one in now, and maybe that will redress the problem. That

:55:26. > :55:30.has been something of a spurt of Rodriguez in the tournament so far.

:55:31. > :55:43.It is important that he sustains the pressure. He prefers to box at pace.

:55:44. > :55:54.It could work from -- work for him here, he has certainly troubled him.

:55:55. > :56:08.That is why you have got to be fast on the feet coming forward, it is

:56:09. > :56:13.the pressure. Cries of "Mexico, Mexico", trying to encourage

:56:14. > :56:19.Rodriguez. I shot below the belt when we've -- when the referee

:56:20. > :56:26.called stop. He has not made a big deal out of it, Melikuziev, but a

:56:27. > :56:33.clear breach of the rules by the man in red. He was close to use fetching

:56:34. > :56:38.below the belt with his punches once again. And then an exchange after

:56:39. > :56:43.the bell, my goodness. Towards the end of the round, the movement from

:56:44. > :56:49.Melikuziev was excellent. Moving around his opponent rather than back

:56:50. > :56:53.and to the side. To the side and Iran, if you like, making his

:56:54. > :57:02.opponent miss. Plenty of Mexicans in the Crown. Their man is in against a

:57:03. > :57:07.quality operator here. Lovely shot from Melikuziev. Tremendous stuff.

:57:08. > :57:19.Lovely left hand, there, from the man in blue. No question. Let's have

:57:20. > :57:20.a look at the scores. All with the boxer from Uzbekistan, and rightly

:57:21. > :57:43.so. We're into the second round of this

:57:44. > :57:48.75 kilograms semifinal. The boxer in red has completed the opening round

:57:49. > :58:01.unanimously. Already guaranteed at least Olympic bronze, of course. He

:58:02. > :58:09.will be facing his compatriot, Micron, from Mexico City. He is

:58:10. > :58:19.facing a very accomplished 20-year-old, and he demonstrated all

:58:20. > :58:23.of his talents in a brilliant quarterfinal win. Boxing on the

:58:24. > :58:26.front foot, boxing on the back foot, wonderful full movement and punch

:58:27. > :58:37.picking supreme, like that left hand there, from Melikuziev. Rodriguez

:58:38. > :58:43.too slow on his feet. Melikuziev can sense the attacks that are coming

:58:44. > :58:49.his way. He steps back and then brings his opponent on to some

:58:50. > :58:53.left-hand work. He moves around his opponent. He is always centre of the

:58:54. > :58:59.ring, Melikuziev. It is clever boxing. Rodriguez has got to sustain

:59:00. > :59:07.the pressure a bit more. He is not doing it, the man in red. Good use

:59:08. > :59:16.of the feet once again to change the angle from Melikuziev. Rodriguez not

:59:17. > :59:20.able to get his punches off here. The adjustment of the feet, there.

:59:21. > :59:26.He just drifts and slips to his right. Rodriguez has got to start

:59:27. > :59:31.bringing the left hook into play. Look how he's controlling the pace,

:59:32. > :59:38.the man in blue, and controlling the ring space, that is more important.

:59:39. > :59:42.And look at that. Rodriguez becoming frustrated and waving his man in

:59:43. > :59:49.with his wrists, as if to say, come on, fight me! Melikuziev operating

:59:50. > :59:56.on his own terms. Look at that foray counter. From Melikuziev, terrific

:59:57. > :00:03.punch picking. And Rodriguez, he is in a difficult position. If he

:00:04. > :00:07.cannot close the gap, if Melikuziev LX to hold his feet momentarily,

:00:08. > :00:15.that might bring Rodriguez into it, invariably, he's coming out second

:00:16. > :00:19.best. He's very good at that. Hitting the target and then moving

:00:20. > :00:24.around. He adjusts his feet and then when Rodriguez comes forward, he

:00:25. > :00:30.brings him onto shots, adjusts speed, then throwing the left hand.

:00:31. > :00:34.Absolutely wonderful from Melikuziev. Making his man mess,

:00:35. > :00:40.then making him pay with accurate counters. Terrific display. And the

:00:41. > :00:45.Mexican support, they need their man to do something different, because

:00:46. > :00:47.he's been comprehensively outboxed at this semifinal stage of the 75

:00:48. > :00:58.kilograms tournament. Rodrigues be feeling the pace a bit

:00:59. > :01:04.but he is bamboozled here by Melikuziev. Brings him on the left

:01:05. > :01:09.hand is like that, always moving around his opponent in centre ring

:01:10. > :01:14.but that is fantastic timing, adjusts his feet, brings him onto

:01:15. > :01:25.the left hand. Excellent work from Melich Qiu Ziao -- Melikuziev.

:01:26. > :01:51.Into the third and final round of this 75 kilograms middleweight

:01:52. > :01:56.semifinal. Lopez of Cuba awaits the winner of this contest and if the

:01:57. > :02:01.first two rounds, the pattern of them, is repeated here, it will be

:02:02. > :02:09.the man in blue who is also cruising through to the final because look at

:02:10. > :02:11.the man who was making his man miss. Credit to Rodriguez. Now

:02:12. > :02:17.demonstrating the urgency we anticipated from him from the

:02:18. > :02:24.opening bout. But it has been a long, hard tournament for Rodriguez.

:02:25. > :02:32.Sensing his down, he is coming on strong, trying to close the distance

:02:33. > :02:41.and land that finishing shot. Melikuziev has to make sure he would

:02:42. > :02:45.doesn't walk onto a shot in. It is increased tempo from the man in red

:02:46. > :02:51.so better work from Rodriguez, but the lad looks tired, that is his

:02:52. > :02:57.main problem. He has to throw the left duck, when Melikuziev moves

:02:58. > :03:01.around to the right, that is when Rodriguez has to throw the left

:03:02. > :03:08.hook. But time is running out now. But the Mexican is a tough kid. He

:03:09. > :03:13.certainly is, game as they come. He has lost on a couple of occasions to

:03:14. > :03:17.Antony Fowler, representing the British Lion hearts, but he doesn't

:03:18. > :03:25.stop coming. He bundles Melikuziev back to the ropes. He beats his

:03:26. > :03:33.chest, demonstrating Mack is no, but not before walking into a straight

:03:34. > :03:39.left hook. -- demonstrating that she is no... Just a frustrated figure is

:03:40. > :03:42.the man in red because look at that, made the mess, Milik Lucy Evans is

:03:43. > :03:51.around the other side and picking him off. Wonderful stuff from the

:03:52. > :03:55.reigning youth Olympic champion, the world youth champion, on the verge

:03:56. > :04:00.of putting his place in the Olympic gold medal bout in his first

:04:01. > :04:03.appearance of the Olympic Games. First tournament of the Olympic

:04:04. > :04:09.Games and what a transition he has made from the youth ranks through to

:04:10. > :04:13.the senior ranks. This sport is about hitting your opponent and not

:04:14. > :04:19.getting hit, this fella does it very well indeed. His defensive work is

:04:20. > :04:26.as impressive as the punches that he throws. His movement is exceptional.

:04:27. > :04:33.His ring craft very good indeed. It is not as if... You think he is

:04:34. > :04:37.quite easy to hit with those low guards, his movement takes him out

:04:38. > :04:41.of trouble. He is tiring a little bit now but he has done all his

:04:42. > :04:49.better work. Rodrigues Duque gets through the cheeky right. --

:04:50. > :05:01.Rodriguez gets through the cheeky right hand.

:05:02. > :05:06.The tournament organisers getting things right in terms of feeding

:05:07. > :05:11.because that will be about between the tournament number one and two

:05:12. > :05:21.seeds, a rematch from the World Championship bout last year.

:05:22. > :05:34.I said to watch out for him because it shows you how clever he is. His

:05:35. > :05:38.timing is very good. Here he just nods his head saying, yes you caught

:05:39. > :05:56.me with Atwal but I think I have on this one.

:05:57. > :06:11.Bektemir Melikuziev. His fans and compatriots are absolutely

:06:12. > :06:15.delighted. This steps up a rematch on the World Championship final from

:06:16. > :06:19.next year because awaiting the gold medal bout is the reigning world

:06:20. > :06:25.champion, the number one ranked boxer in the world, the tournament

:06:26. > :06:34.number one seed, Lopez. It promises to be an absolute thriller.

:06:35. > :06:43.If you weren't listening, don't worry, we will show you that other

:06:44. > :06:48.semifinal between Lopez and the boxer from Azerbaijan in a few

:06:49. > :06:54.minutes. We want to take you back to the sailing because Brazil have won

:06:55. > :06:58.their fourth gold medal of the Games. Look at this for celebration

:06:59. > :07:02.is. They were in the water altogether and they have lifted the

:07:03. > :07:08.boat, I don't know how much it weighs but it won't be liked. 20 or

:07:09. > :07:16.so fans, friends, family members Anthony said, lifting them onto the

:07:17. > :07:20.beach. That might be, I don't know if you have any suggestions on

:07:21. > :07:24.social media, most bizarre celebration or most impressive?

:07:25. > :07:31.Herculean strength from the Brazilians! They are really enjoying

:07:32. > :07:35.themselves. That is their fourth gold of the games and everyone has

:07:36. > :07:40.been celebrated in a different way. Rafaela Silva in the judo with that

:07:41. > :07:45.incredible story, grew up in a novella, was taught by an English

:07:46. > :07:55.judo teacher. She ends up getting gold in a home game. -- grew up in a

:07:56. > :08:00.favela. There was an amazing pole vault competition in the athletics

:08:01. > :08:04.arena. Maybe three nights ago where Thiago Braas just did the business

:08:05. > :08:09.when he really needed to. But the poll up to just over six metres,

:08:10. > :08:16.jumped it and I know there was a bit of concern about the French athlete

:08:17. > :08:20.and no one wants to see that, but you cannot take away from the skills

:08:21. > :08:33.and dedication of Thiago Braz da Silva we saw the boxing as well.

:08:34. > :08:42.Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze have produced a fourth gold medal for

:08:43. > :08:52.Brazil. While we are doing the microphone armpit issue, there was a

:08:53. > :08:56.guy in the background who looked like a mix between David Hasselhoff

:08:57. > :09:02.and Mister bean! Why did no one tell me?! The phone exploded when people

:09:03. > :09:06.spot something you like behind me so keep those coming in. Let's do the

:09:07. > :09:12.headlines for you on day 13 of these games.

:09:13. > :09:23.It was out here on Copacabana. The gold and silver for the Brownlee

:09:24. > :09:27.brothers. Alasdair Gray the line first and as he picked up the gold,

:09:28. > :09:34.he welcomed his brother Jonny for the silver. We have seen a lot of

:09:35. > :09:38.sailing so far this morning. Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark confirmed

:09:39. > :09:48.their gold in the women's race. They got silver four years ago. We might

:09:49. > :09:52.be speaking to them later on. In the canoe sprint, the men's kayak

:09:53. > :09:57.double, Liam Heath and Jon Schofield had silver snatched away four years

:09:58. > :10:03.ago. A reversal of fortune this time around, a tiny fraction separated

:10:04. > :10:07.second to fifth and they managed to come behind the Spanish pair and

:10:08. > :10:13.take a silver home from these Games. Some brilliant as well from the

:10:14. > :10:17.badminton men's doubles pairing of Ellis and language. An unexpected

:10:18. > :10:24.and impressive bronze medal in the men's pairs, beating the fifth

:10:25. > :10:30.ranked Chinese pair. Nicola Adams is into the gold medal match in the

:10:31. > :10:34.boxing. A bit of a scare in her bout today but the defending champion of

:10:35. > :10:38.four years ago looking good and extremely confident as well in her

:10:39. > :10:47.interview afterwards with John Inverdale. And Jade Jones again, a

:10:48. > :10:51.defending champion, so many of them have done well at these Games. She

:10:52. > :11:00.is through to the semifinals of the taekwondo. Let's have a look at your

:11:01. > :11:06.timetable for tonight. This is how it will pan out.

:11:07. > :11:09.None of this is guaranteed and we like to bring you some sailing

:11:10. > :11:19.action. We will hopefully show you the first

:11:20. > :11:25.half of the hockey from 9pm your time. The men's final between

:11:26. > :11:28.Belgium and Argentina. Neither of those countries have ever won

:11:29. > :11:35.Olympic gold so that'll change this evening.

:11:36. > :11:41.So we have hockey taking on taekwondo. Combine those together

:11:42. > :12:01.and you would get Hockwondo! Confirmation of what is happening

:12:02. > :12:14.with Tonia Couch on BBC One right now. China, the favourite right now

:12:15. > :12:18.as ever. Spain, one of the favourites to get to the latter

:12:19. > :12:24.stages in basketball. We will bring you the reigning champions team USA,

:12:25. > :12:26.the Americans, later on. Let's have a look at some of the stuff you are

:12:27. > :12:38.standing through. Martin has said, my nephew would

:12:39. > :12:43.like to be a bin man on Copacabana. The guys we have seen picking up the

:12:44. > :12:53.beans on Copacabana beach, they are incredibly friendly.

:12:54. > :13:11.Where is this fella from? It is a very busy beach today. They do a

:13:12. > :13:16.fantastic job, Copacab-binmen. Amy says, really fascinated to know

:13:17. > :13:22.who's that guy was, looked a bit like Mister bean. He has gone now so

:13:23. > :13:26.I'm afraid we can't sort that out. Jim says, hello, are you showing in

:13:27. > :13:35.the synchronised swimming tonight? The # he is using is asking for a

:13:36. > :13:43.friend. We will show you some synchronised swimming later on. No

:13:44. > :13:46.confirmation as yet. We're with you until 2am so at some stage, you will

:13:47. > :13:53.have to stick with us the whole way through. And Ross says, he feels we

:13:54. > :13:58.have missed the most obvious hashtag through these Games. We have had

:13:59. > :14:18.Copacabanter, Copacab-binmen, what was the other one? Copcab-beachcomb.

:14:19. > :14:22.We have a saying down here, it is no Anthony Worrall Thompson, no party.

:14:23. > :14:28.There is a man whose circuit trains here every night and he looks just

:14:29. > :14:36.like him. It is normally about a tip PM our time. There are people right

:14:37. > :14:39.now planning things around the appearance of Anthony Worrall

:14:40. > :14:44.Thompson. He claims his name is Raphael and he doesn't speak any

:14:45. > :14:48.English. Maybe we will get the real Anthony Worrall Thompson on the

:14:49. > :15:02.phone to confirm or deny. Ross says, why haven't you use the hashtag

:15:03. > :15:08.Copacab - Anthony Worrall Thompson. I'm a bit annoyed we haven't thought

:15:09. > :15:14.of that ourselves. We will bring you some live bin man action soon but

:15:15. > :15:17.let's get back to some boxing now because we promised you the second

:15:18. > :15:31.semifinal in the men's middleweight category. We also saw one guy go

:15:32. > :15:40.through. He will have to take on a fighter from Azerbaijan or Lopez.

:15:41. > :15:46.If you are just joining us on BBC Four, here is some boxing you do not

:15:47. > :15:49.know the outcome of, which happened earlier in Brazil. Richie Woodhall

:15:50. > :16:02.and Ronald McIntosh. We are under way. The gold medal

:16:03. > :16:05.bout in the 81 kilograms light heavyweight division between boxers

:16:06. > :16:10.who have faced off three times before. The man in red, operating

:16:11. > :16:16.out of the orthodox town is the reigning three-time World

:16:17. > :16:26.Championship gold-medallists. The number one ranked boxer. His

:16:27. > :16:30.opponent 27 years of age. With the tournament number two seed, ranked

:16:31. > :16:34.number two in the world. Coming in as the reigning Olympic

:16:35. > :16:37.silver-medallist and a two-time World Championship silver-medallist

:16:38. > :16:51.and both of those silver medals came because he was beaten by the man in

:16:52. > :16:53.red in that global tournament. It will be crucial for La Cruz to

:16:54. > :17:09.control the pace. What can the Niyazymbetov do? He has

:17:10. > :17:13.got to raise his game. A man difficult to pin down so you have to

:17:14. > :17:25.raise the tempo, go through the gears and put the Cuban under more

:17:26. > :17:35.pressure. That right hand from La Cruz was a beauty. A mistake from

:17:36. > :17:43.either boxer will be capitalised on instantly. Once again, the

:17:44. > :17:53.concentration absolute. Both of them operating. It becomes a classic case

:17:54. > :18:01.of your opponent having to change tax it -- tactics. Niyazymbetov,

:18:02. > :18:14.that is not too bad. This is what La Cruz likes to do. Niyazymbetov has

:18:15. > :18:24.to be quicker with the feet. The legs getting tangled between the

:18:25. > :18:31.southpaw and the orthodox boxer. Thankfully, no injuries sustained.

:18:32. > :18:35.La Cruz expert at long-range boxing, bringing his opponent onto the

:18:36. > :18:41.punches. They did counterpuncher. He can mix it up, La Cruz, and

:18:42. > :18:45.occasionally that is where he comes undone because he does not keep

:18:46. > :18:50.their hands up at all. But look at him here, comfortable, on the ropes

:18:51. > :18:58.even. Difficult to land a shot on him. Terrific movement demonstrated

:18:59. > :19:02.by Julio Cesar La Cruz. Niyazymbetov in the closing 20 seconds was

:19:03. > :19:05.reduced to chasing shadows, such was the wonderful fleetfooted manoeuvres

:19:06. > :19:25.demonstrated by this man. Niyazymbetov missing the target,

:19:26. > :19:31.coming forward. La Cruz finding the space and time again. Working on the

:19:32. > :19:38.back foot. In and out with that right hand. Niyazymbetov again walks

:19:39. > :19:43.onto that shot there. Let's look at the scores. Across the board, the

:19:44. > :20:03.Cuban gets it. He is in control. Into the second round. They contest

:20:04. > :20:07.between men who have been pretty much the best light heavyweight

:20:08. > :20:11.boxers in the world in Olympic style boxing for the last five years but

:20:12. > :20:23.neither of them have an Olympic gold medal to show for it.

:20:24. > :20:32.Eliminated at the quarterfinal stage by the Brazilian. The pace is

:20:33. > :20:38.suiting La Cruz down to the ground. If you remember Niyazymbetov in the

:20:39. > :20:43.semifinal against Great Britain's Joshua Buatsi, he demonstrated lofty

:20:44. > :20:47.skills on the back foot because he is a back foot counterpuncher, but

:20:48. > :20:52.here he has to change tactics. He has got to be able to go on the

:20:53. > :20:57.front foot. Niyazymbetov is probably being forced into a way of boxing he

:20:58. > :21:05.is not used to because he normally sits back himself. La Cruz has not

:21:06. > :21:10.come away with any Olympic medal. Niyazymbetov, a silver. Having made

:21:11. > :21:17.the gold medal bout, he was declared the loser on count back, which went

:21:18. > :21:25.against him. Absolutely nothing in it. He does not have an Olympic gold

:21:26. > :21:30.medal to show for it, so that is his motivation to come out on top in his

:21:31. > :21:37.fourth encounter with La Cruz. But he has yet to have his hand raised

:21:38. > :21:42.in this particular rivalry. It is not good for Niyazymbetov. He is not

:21:43. > :21:48.boxing the way he should, or should I say at the right tempo. He is too

:21:49. > :21:53.slow. He has to do something different. It is as if he is

:21:54. > :21:57.hypnotised by the man. That is what La Cruz does, he seems to slow down

:21:58. > :22:02.the pace, no matter what the style of the opponent, he has the ability

:22:03. > :22:08.to slow it down and box to his tempo, which is why he is a talented

:22:09. > :22:13.and successful boxer. A good right hand from La Cruz. A left hand came

:22:14. > :22:19.almost at the same time from Niyazymbetov, not too far away. La

:22:20. > :22:24.Cruz demonstrating that wonderful ability to navigate the boxing ring

:22:25. > :22:30.and avoid punches coming his way. It is almost as if he is blessed with

:22:31. > :22:34.ESP, the manner he can see punches, lay back at the waist and adjust his

:22:35. > :22:41.feet and make the man missed by a matter of millimetres sometimes. A

:22:42. > :22:46.good right hand to the body from La Cruz.

:22:47. > :22:51.Who can produce quality in the ten seconds?

:22:52. > :22:59.La Cruz pulls the trigger first and what a counter left-hander! La Cruz

:23:00. > :23:03.at his best, making the man miss and while the punch is still coming back

:23:04. > :23:08.after falling short he finds himself clipped on the chin with a cheeky

:23:09. > :23:12.little shocked. This fella is struggling with the

:23:13. > :23:16.distance and range and the movement of his opponent. His feet are a

:23:17. > :23:24.little bit too slow and he is following his opponent rather than

:23:25. > :23:29.cutting off the ring space. He is a maestro of a mover, La Cruz. Very

:23:30. > :23:32.talented, hands very low. Caught with a shot and another one from

:23:33. > :23:43.Niyazymbetov, so a little bit better. Just fell short with that

:23:44. > :23:46.shot. We can look at the scores and again, across the board.

:23:47. > :23:47.Niyazymbetov has to produce a knockout shot against a moving

:23:48. > :24:02.opponent. That is difficult. Into the third and final round and

:24:03. > :24:11.Niyazymbetov, the second-ranked boxer in the world is trailing in

:24:12. > :24:16.this contest between two of the most skilful operators at 81 kilograms.

:24:17. > :24:21.As is the case with their previous three encounters, it is the man in

:24:22. > :24:30.red who has dictated the terms and tempo on which this bout has been

:24:31. > :24:36.contested. Niyazymbetov cannot let any effective leather go and stop

:24:37. > :24:42.this man from moving. Niyazymbetov these the punch of a lifetime if he

:24:43. > :24:44.hopes to emulate the accomplishment in 1996 and claim light heavyweight

:24:45. > :25:13.gold for Kazakhstan. He was so desperate for Olympic

:25:14. > :25:17.gold. At this tempo, he does not look -- it does not look as if it is

:25:18. > :25:27.going to happen. Needing a knockout now. There has not been a real tempo

:25:28. > :25:35.change for Niyazymbetov. He is still waiting far too long. He is not used

:25:36. > :25:39.to boxing on the front, the man in blue. Losing the first round meant

:25:40. > :25:44.he had to change something around. He has not done it. He kept at the

:25:45. > :25:54.same tempo, which has suited La Cruz. This has been there both the

:25:55. > :25:59.division, light heavyweight, for Cuba. La Cruz is cruising to victory

:26:00. > :26:03.here. It will be a special victory for him, to be the first Cuban to

:26:04. > :26:10.win a gold medal in this division if he can get through these last

:26:11. > :26:14.seconds. Not just for him, but the entire Caribbean island and more

:26:15. > :26:21.importantly, he will complete Cuban success in every weight division.

:26:22. > :26:25.They have won Olympic gold in every other weight class except light

:26:26. > :26:32.heavyweight. They have not had a medal in this division since 1980.

:26:33. > :26:41.That drought is coming to an end. In these closing seconds, La Cruz is

:26:42. > :26:45.about to join the ranks of his illustrious compatriots by being

:26:46. > :26:53.crowned as an Olympic champion. Up on his toes. Enjoying his work and

:26:54. > :26:57.treating us to the balletic grace he has used to such terrific affect to

:26:58. > :27:01.dominate the World Championship the last five years and now on the

:27:02. > :27:08.Olympic stage, the man is reducing some salsa on the canvas of the

:27:09. > :27:12.boxing ring in act knowledge meant the majestic display that will see

:27:13. > :27:16.him crowned as Olympic light heavyweight champion. Cuba's first

:27:17. > :27:24.ever light heavyweight champion in the Olympic programme. He was once

:27:25. > :27:29.again almost impossible to tag Tiendalli. Tremendous performance

:27:30. > :27:37.from La Cruz. You have to admire it. There was some booing at the end but

:27:38. > :27:42.the man is so skilful. He has reflex is and reactions that have to be

:27:43. > :27:45.second to none. La Cruz is a wonderful boxer and he has had a

:27:46. > :27:59.tremendous performance and tremendous tournament.

:28:00. > :28:04.Ladies and gentlemen, the winner by unanimous decision and Olympic

:28:05. > :28:29.champion... In the red corner...

:28:30. > :28:34.Julio Cesar La Cruz. Julio Cesar La Cruz Is the Olympic champion. The

:28:35. > :28:38.Golden grin beaming from ear to ear stop the three-time World

:28:39. > :28:45.Championship gold-medallist, it completes his collection by adding

:28:46. > :28:54.Olympic gold. What a fantastic display by Julio Cesar La Cruz. Four

:28:55. > :28:58.contests. Barely touched throughout the completed contests he fought and

:28:59. > :29:04.he is applauding and acknowledging the support he is receiving. A warm

:29:05. > :29:08.and brace for Niyazymbetov, who comes away with his second

:29:09. > :29:18.successive Olympic silver medal. He met his master once again in the

:29:19. > :29:23.form of Julio Cesar La Cruz. And for the fourth time in that rivalry, it

:29:24. > :29:28.is Julio Cesar La Cruz who comes out on top. Julio Cesar La Cruz is the

:29:29. > :29:35.Olympic champion and he completes Cuba's gold set in men's Olympic

:29:36. > :29:36.boxing, claiming gold medals in all 12 weight divisions, including those

:29:37. > :29:52.that are discontinued. I think we might have shown you a

:29:53. > :29:56.gold medal bout by accident, but a bonus for you on BBC Four.

:29:57. > :30:01.Apologies. Somebody somewhere pressed the wrong button. We shall

:30:02. > :30:07.try to tidy it up later. We also need to tidy up the controversy when

:30:08. > :30:15.Ireland's Michael Conlan felt he had won the fight. Against Vladimir

:30:16. > :30:20.Nikitin. A complaint was put in. People asked how it could happen.

:30:21. > :30:24.Vladimir Nikitin went through and was supposed to be fighting Shakur

:30:25. > :30:34.Stevenson of the USA. But, I do not know the best way to put this, he

:30:35. > :30:38.was so well beaten by Michael Conlan, he was unable to turn up for

:30:39. > :30:43.his fight against Shakur Stevenson, who now has a walkover and goes

:30:44. > :30:47.straight into the gold medal bout. I am sure we have not heard the last

:30:48. > :30:52.of that. The beaches packed and we will have

:30:53. > :30:57.a wander. I want to show you this first. Good evening, everybody.

:30:58. > :31:05.There is a guy here who sells flags and blankets and also to Brazilian

:31:06. > :31:12.gear every day. Today, he has sold out of the union flag because the

:31:13. > :31:17.triathlon took place just down here. The Brownlee brothers came home in

:31:18. > :31:20.gold and silver. There is some stars and stripes action under lot of

:31:21. > :31:25.Australian flag down the beach because you have to scroll quite a

:31:26. > :31:30.long way down the medal table to find the Aussies at the moment. We

:31:31. > :31:33.are going to go through the shrubbery back onto the beach

:31:34. > :31:38.because there are, even though it is a Thursday... Normally the weekends

:31:39. > :31:41.are heaving but today, so many Brazilians are out enjoying the

:31:42. > :31:47.sunshine and if you look down this way, towards Sugarloaf Mountain, it

:31:48. > :31:51.is a little cloudy today. Yesterday was 30 degrees, today is 24, 20

:31:52. > :31:58.five. Beautiful weather for this time of night. This is where the

:31:59. > :32:02.triathlon took place. You can see the Fort Copacabana at the far end

:32:03. > :32:07.where Brazil's military history museum is and where the swim was, we

:32:08. > :32:13.had the triathlon and the road race and time trial all in this part of

:32:14. > :32:18.Rio. The triathlon finished just down here. This was crammed down

:32:19. > :32:22.here earlier. There is a lady over her and I know she speaks very good

:32:23. > :32:29.English so we are going to have a chat with her. Good evening. I know

:32:30. > :32:46.you speak very good English. What is your name? Sejena. That is George

:32:47. > :32:58.and Gabriella. Is that a type praemia? It is. We know it is

:32:59. > :33:09.alcoholic. Bigger than a pint and we call it aviation fuel. Because it is

:33:10. > :33:19.so strong! And it is lime and sugar. It is lovely. This is my first one

:33:20. > :33:29.today! You are Brazilian, your English is brilliant, where do you

:33:30. > :33:38.live? I live in London. You were born in Brazil? Yes, I am from Sao

:33:39. > :33:44.Paulo. Not from Rio. I am not perfect! Tell us a little bit about

:33:45. > :33:49.the Brazilian side of things because you now have four gold medals at

:33:50. > :33:53.these Games but in the UK, a lot of talk beforehand about security,

:33:54. > :33:57.concerns about Rio, you shake your head but how do you think it has

:33:58. > :34:00.gone down and what is the perception of everyone turning up for the

:34:01. > :34:07.Olympic Games, from a Brazilian point of view? It has been great. It

:34:08. > :34:13.has been so safe. I have been feeling really safe here. More than

:34:14. > :34:20.I felt before. Because we have been walking around and lots of police,

:34:21. > :34:26.military people around us with really big guns. We feel really

:34:27. > :34:29.safe, I love it. In terms of the way Brazil has been portrayed to the

:34:30. > :34:34.rest of the world, you might have seen this as well, Ryan Lochte and

:34:35. > :34:39.some American swimmers, a big story today, they said they were held up

:34:40. > :34:43.at gunpoint and it seems there it was not as much truth in that as

:34:44. > :34:47.there was the first time round and he has been asked to apologise.

:34:48. > :34:53.People feel very passionately that they have been wrong on that point.

:34:54. > :34:59.Definitely. I was talking to a taxi driver last night and he said to me,

:35:00. > :35:07.an American guy, he made up that because he was drunk. They called

:35:08. > :35:12.him up and he said, that was the taxi driver's faults, what was that

:35:13. > :35:18.about? There is a bit of blame going around because it is easy to do

:35:19. > :35:23.that. One of the other things... I have to keep shifting my position

:35:24. > :35:26.because I have old man's knees! What is your view of the fact there

:35:27. > :35:32.haven't been that many... Some venues have been a little empty,

:35:33. > :35:37.15-20% fall, is that disappointing or do you understand why? Very

:35:38. > :35:43.disappointing and I blame the Olympics committee because they only

:35:44. > :35:50.gave school holidays for the kids in Rio. I am from Sao Paulo and my

:35:51. > :35:58.family would be happy to come here to meet us but they couldn't because

:35:59. > :36:03.the kids are in school. Plus, the tickets are quite expensive, for the

:36:04. > :36:08.Brazilian people. Lots of people are saying it is so expensive to be

:36:09. > :36:12.here, any event, it is quite sad really because it is frustrating as

:36:13. > :36:18.well because we try to get tickets for tomorrow, nothing available for

:36:19. > :36:24.tomorrow, but we know tomorrow, we will find empty seats. To give you

:36:25. > :36:30.an idea of the ticket prices, on the athletics, when there isn't a big

:36:31. > :36:37.final, it is ?25. If it is one of the big nights, they start at ?65

:36:38. > :36:44.and they go right up to ?220, which is months wages for an average

:36:45. > :36:49.Brazilian. It is and it is quite sad the Brazilians deserve to be there

:36:50. > :36:54.but they can't because they haven't got enough money to pay for the

:36:55. > :36:59.tickets. It is sad really. We feel privileged that we are here and we

:37:00. > :37:02.have watched loads of events, but we also feel sad because some of the

:37:03. > :37:09.Brazilian people cannot watch because it is expensive. Lovely to

:37:10. > :37:13.talk to you. I have just knocked ordering over, a beer and a

:37:14. > :37:20.Caipirinha, you are having a good evening! I am Brazilian! George, you

:37:21. > :37:26.were eating cheese kabaddi earlier? Yes. I have never had one, please

:37:27. > :37:40.describe it to me. It is just barbecued cheese with oregano. Is it

:37:41. > :37:47.the Leumi -- halloumi? It is a little bit like halloumi, it is a

:37:48. > :37:51.Brazilian cheese. The whole family are from London, how often do you

:37:52. > :37:59.come to Brazil, is it a regular visit? We try to come every two

:38:00. > :38:04.years. You were here today for the triathlon? We came down to see it

:38:05. > :38:12.all happen. What was that like? It was good. We saw the British people

:38:13. > :38:16.run past, the Brownlee brothers. We missed filming them because they ran

:38:17. > :38:20.too fast. Quite a few people have said that. People wanted to take

:38:21. > :38:24.pictures of them but you forget how quickly they travel and you want to

:38:25. > :38:30.take a shot and you just have a picture of their backside. To give

:38:31. > :38:34.you an idea of how fast the Brownlee brothers run, I read this in a

:38:35. > :38:38.newspaper earlier this week, the margin you have done the swim and

:38:39. > :38:41.the cycle and when you are running, if you go on a treadmill ever and

:38:42. > :38:45.you put the treadmill up to 20, the top level, try to do that for a

:38:46. > :38:50.minute and they have done that after they have done the swim and the

:38:51. > :39:01.cycle. Pleasure to talk to you all. Alistair Brownlee got a gold earlier

:39:02. > :39:06.on, Jonny Brownlee got a silver. The reigning Olympic champion from four

:39:07. > :39:13.years ago, her semifinal will be on BBC One at 9pm. We will now show you

:39:14. > :39:20.who she will take on because the winner of this bout goes to face

:39:21. > :39:28.Jade Jones in that semifinal. Mikkonen taking on Glasnovic of

:39:29. > :39:46.Sweden. We're off to get a cheese kabaddi! -- to babble -- kebab.

:39:47. > :40:02.Here she comes, the 28-year-old, Mikkonen. -- Glasnovic, of course

:40:03. > :40:07.funded and supported by her father Mario. I had great families support.

:40:08. > :40:24.My father was my coach until I was 16. That was great.

:40:25. > :40:44.Suvi Mick Kinane -- Mikkonen. Nikita Glasnovic making her way into the

:40:45. > :40:48.ring. In terms of a matchup here, Mikkonen in fifth place in the

:40:49. > :41:01.London Olympic Games. She trains out of Madrid. Nikita Glasnovic as well,

:41:02. > :41:05.the 21-year-old coming into this. This is where you have to get

:41:06. > :41:13.focused because this is a very important part where you have to go

:41:14. > :41:21.in there all systems blazing. The centre referee taking care of this

:41:22. > :41:38.first round. Women's and 57 kilo contest between Suvi Mikkonen and

:41:39. > :41:45.Nikita Glasnovic. Mikkonen, the shorter of the two. As the work on

:41:46. > :41:49.distance and footwork to begin with. That is the thing, the range very

:41:50. > :41:59.important here and so she has to make sure she gets her range right.

:42:00. > :42:05.Gets close there, Mikkonen, a really aggressive start from the fighting

:42:06. > :42:07.Finn. She will have to be in quick because the difference in the range

:42:08. > :42:24.could make a big difference. That range finding front leg and

:42:25. > :42:30.head shot, a back kick worth three points and a head likewise. Big

:42:31. > :42:36.power punch from the Swede. An aggressive start. They are both

:42:37. > :42:43.going forwards which is good. Fence is as good as defence, it is the

:42:44. > :42:54.best form of defence. -- offence is the good as defence.

:42:55. > :43:11.The Swede just about scores. That looked as if it made contact. Still

:43:12. > :43:17.4-3 on the board and still going forwards. All about distance, you

:43:18. > :43:33.can see that, trying to close up that distance. Mikkonen, county and

:43:34. > :43:37.the round when she is 4-3 down? Mikkonen tries again with that

:43:38. > :43:43.turning kick to the head. An aggressive start to this all

:43:44. > :43:51.European first round. Sweden's Nikita Glasnovic leading 4-3. Not so

:43:52. > :43:57.many punches. The legs are longer than the arms so that distance

:43:58. > :44:03.differential. If you reach in as Mikkonen tries here with a short

:44:04. > :44:12.kit, you leave a big space. The punches still score, though?

:44:13. > :44:14.Absolutely. If you do it like this, you will score. But the back kick

:44:15. > :44:34.and a headshot get three points. Contrasting fortunes in both

:44:35. > :44:40.corners, this is your match, advice from the Swedish coach. Nikita

:44:41. > :44:48.Glasnovic. Gumshield and head guard down, full

:44:49. > :45:16.focus from the finish fighter. good turning kick from Glasnovic we

:45:17. > :45:49.saw a punch. It was very close. We saw the distance differential we

:45:50. > :45:54.were talking about. All systems go at the taekwondo and both fighters

:45:55. > :45:59.working well. Tries of flying hook kick will stop she went high,

:46:00. > :46:24.looking for big points. Finland's Mikkonen tried the punch.

:46:25. > :46:30.You can see the intensity. She knows she has that mare point to bring

:46:31. > :46:34.back and she is going for it. Absolutely attacking. She has to be

:46:35. > :46:38.careful when she goes him because of the counter. That is the thing as

:46:39. > :46:45.well. She has more range there, Glasnovic. She almost used that

:46:46. > :46:53.range to good effect. Just missing with a head shot, but as we were.

:46:54. > :46:59.Aggressive from Mikkonen, but another excellent second round. It

:47:00. > :47:03.was close, it really was. Mikkonen was going for it, but almost getting

:47:04. > :47:13.countered. She was looking to the punch, as well. As you say, good

:47:14. > :47:15.variety. Finland's Suvi Mikkonen. The height difference making

:47:16. > :47:17.variety. Finland's Suvi Mikkonen. The height difference making the

:47:18. > :47:25.difference so far on the scoreboard. The flicking headshot from the Swede

:47:26. > :47:29.separating the two. Just looking really how they are looking for

:47:30. > :47:38.target all the time and of course, the target is the midsection. And of

:47:39. > :47:57.course the head. That reverse kick, almost picking up big points. Points

:47:58. > :48:06.make prizes in this one, the women's under 57 final. Glasnovic has worked

:48:07. > :48:11.hard to get here. The 21-year-old. The support of her father

:48:12. > :48:14.instrumental in helping her qualify. Suvi Mikkonen, a London Olympian in

:48:15. > :48:33.2012. Working out of a gym in Madrid. She

:48:34. > :48:39.is changing from left to right stance. How important is that?

:48:40. > :48:46.Absolutely key. You have to change and pick off different mistakes and

:48:47. > :48:51.also pretend to kick. A lot of motioning and faking. It is also

:48:52. > :48:55.changing the target area, the target area every times they go from left

:48:56. > :49:01.to right stance, and of course able to kick with both feet, which is a

:49:02. > :49:09.great advantage. Kicking to the heads to take that advantage.

:49:10. > :49:16.Tremendous flexibility and that is a big moment for the Swede. Can she

:49:17. > :49:21.find a way back into this? She is starting to pick off the points. And

:49:22. > :49:30.like you said, when the big and went for the head. I think the extra

:49:31. > :49:40.variation going left-to-right, as well. Can Suvi Mikkonen switch up

:49:41. > :49:44.the scoreboard? She is on the attack, the super Swede. Glasnovic

:49:45. > :49:52.on the defence, using the front leg. The range that you mention. Also

:49:53. > :49:55.now, the latter part of this particular round, she is just

:49:56. > :50:00.starting to back off. A little bit defensive now. She tries a headshot,

:50:01. > :50:07.Glasnovic, in the last ten seconds of birth -- of the round. Stepping

:50:08. > :50:20.out of the ring. One second left. A point will be

:50:21. > :50:32.added to Suvi Mikkonen, but the biggest point of all, Glasnovic. Try

:50:33. > :50:41.as she might, Suvi Mikkonen, Glasnovic sealed the win. It was

:50:42. > :50:44.interesting in the last few seconds, she was defensive and it did not

:50:45. > :51:02.matter if she went outside the area and giving up a

:51:03. > :51:12.couple of kyongos. She will be back in medal contention soon. Suvi

:51:13. > :51:18.Mikkonen, try as she might, double Olympian, always fighting up against

:51:19. > :51:36.the taller fighters. The cart, couple of big scores.

:51:37. > :51:47.-- card. As we told you, you can switch to

:51:48. > :51:50.BBC One, because Jade Jones will be fighting in the semifinal against

:51:51. > :51:55.Nikita Glasnovic of Sweden at nine o'clock. We are going to have live

:51:56. > :52:02.hockey. The gold medal match from the men. Neither of the two nations

:52:03. > :52:07.competing have won a gold medal before. We will have that for you at

:52:08. > :52:10.9pm. Normally there are Argentine fans knocking around here but maybe

:52:11. > :52:22.they have made their way is to the hockey. They have been very

:52:23. > :52:27.boisterous. We got caught up in a melee with the Argentinians at one

:52:28. > :52:31.point. Great fun. Looking down the beach, having spoken to our

:52:32. > :52:39.Brazilian - London family, telling us the magic of the cheese kebab.

:52:40. > :52:44.Has everybody had a cheese kebab? Quite a few people have. There is a

:52:45. > :52:59.cheese kebab man walking up and down the beach, so we will find the

:53:00. > :53:04.Copaca-kebabman. We will tidy up the boxing. Forgive us, we showed you a

:53:05. > :53:09.gold medal fight involving two boxers I had not introduced

:53:10. > :53:12.correctly. We are going to show you the other semifinal, Arlen Lopez of

:53:13. > :53:20.Cuba taking on Kamran Shakhsuvarly of Abbas -- Azerbaijan. We will join

:53:21. > :53:31.it in round three. So to the third and final round. My

:53:32. > :53:34.goodness, what those starts to the round by the man in red who appears

:53:35. > :53:43.to be going through the gears. And just showing Shakhsuvarly who is the

:53:44. > :53:47.governor. He is being worked over to both body and head and Lopez has

:53:48. > :53:53.come out in aggressive mood and Shakhsuvarly is keen to hold on. An

:53:54. > :54:05.injection of pace from Lopez. Some brilliant stuff.

:54:06. > :54:16.Is that a piece that has come out from Lopez? By beginners. Into the

:54:17. > :54:21.third and final round of -- I think it is. Into the third and final

:54:22. > :54:30.round. If he wins this contest, which you should, Lopez, he will be

:54:31. > :54:35.fresh for the final. Maybe the whole plan in this one is to box well

:54:36. > :54:42.within himself. Glimpses of what he can do when he goes through the

:54:43. > :54:47.gears and raises the tempo. But very comfortable in an Olympic semifinal.

:54:48. > :54:52.That may be important for a final, but can the man in blue reduce a

:54:53. > :54:57.knockout? He certainly has the power, Shakhsuvarly. He has to have

:54:58. > :55:03.the confidence to throw the big shot. No qualms about letting it go

:55:04. > :55:14.as we mentioned in the preliminary round against the Chinese boxer.

:55:15. > :55:19.Perhaps just a little bit, perhaps not intimidated, but overly

:55:20. > :55:24.respectful. The reputation of the man in front of him. Good right to

:55:25. > :55:33.the body. Being very cautious, considering he is two rounds down

:55:34. > :55:36.and he does possess a fair amount of pop on his own punches. No

:55:37. > :55:44.discernible change in the work of the man in blue, considering that

:55:45. > :55:49.place in the gold medal bout is at stake. No change of attack. Really

:55:50. > :56:00.not fully committing when he throws his shot. I think it has been a

:56:01. > :56:04.clever tactic from Lopez with most of the contest fighting as a

:56:05. > :56:11.southpaw. Lopez knows Shakhsuvarly has a bit of power. To land the

:56:12. > :56:15.right hand, it has to travel further to the target against a southpaw and

:56:16. > :56:21.when you have a southpaw like Lopez who hits the target continuously

:56:22. > :56:22.with accurate punches at range, then success with the right-hand for the

:56:23. > :56:46.man in blue is very rare indeed. Arlen Lopez through to the Olympic

:56:47. > :56:51.gold medal bout and he is barely out of breath after that semifinal

:56:52. > :57:03.against Kamran Shakhsuvarly of Azerbaijan. The second successive

:57:04. > :57:08.Olympic run in a division for Azerbaijan. Just waiting for the

:57:09. > :57:12.announcement but Lopez incredibly comfortable. A good performance.

:57:13. > :57:17.Controlled the pace very well. Accurate with his work. That is

:57:18. > :57:23.probably the best shot Shakhsuvarly has thrown throughout the contest. A

:57:24. > :57:31.rabbit in the headlights and he gave too much respect to his opponent.

:57:32. > :57:41.Lopez goes through with ease. Ladies and gentlemen, the winner by

:57:42. > :57:50.unanimous decision... In the red corner...

:57:51. > :57:56.Victory for Arlen Lopez of Cuba. We got there eventually and he will

:57:57. > :58:01.phase a boxer from Uzbekistan in the gold medal match. We can take you to

:58:02. > :58:06.the hockey. We promised you Belgium taking on Argentina. This is the

:58:07. > :58:10.gold medal match. They are doing the anthems at the moment. Surprise

:58:11. > :58:13.finalists with Belgian beating the Netherlands 3-1, the first time they

:58:14. > :58:22.have beaten their near neighbours in 80 years to reach the final.

:58:23. > :58:31.Argentina managed a an upset beating Germany 5-2. We watched Germany in

:58:32. > :58:41.incredible quarterfinal. But Argentina got better the better of

:58:42. > :58:46.them. Jade Jones is on BBC One fighting in her semifinal. This is

:58:47. > :58:50.the gold medal match in the men's hockey with Belgium taking on

:58:51. > :58:54.Argentina. Neither of these two nations have ever won Olympic gold

:58:55. > :58:58.in this event so history will be made tonight. Simon Mason is

:58:59. > :59:05.alongside Matt Chilton. Good evening. Good evening,

:59:06. > :59:10.everybody. What an atmosphere tonight. A sea of colour. The

:59:11. > :59:14.Argentine fans love their hockey. After football it is the most

:59:15. > :59:19.popular sport in the country just south of us here, Brazil's near

:59:20. > :59:23.neighbours. There is a sporting rivalry between Argentina and

:59:24. > :59:27.Brazil. Was ill were never going to do anything in the hockey

:59:28. > :59:33.tournament, but for those Brazilians here tonight I guarantee they will

:59:34. > :59:38.be supporting Belgium. The men's hockey final. Neither side has been

:59:39. > :59:44.in an Olympic gold medal match before. We will expect a physical

:59:45. > :59:52.and fast paced encounter. We had the bronze medal match earlier. Germany

:59:53. > :59:59.came through that, beating the Netherlands in a penalty shoot out.

:00:00. > :00:10.The players getting ready to go. Both sides guaranteed a medal, but

:00:11. > :00:16.both here for the gold. Belgium in Allred, attacking the goal away to

:00:17. > :00:23.the right. Argentina in the traditional blue and white stripes.

:00:24. > :00:29.We have been eagerly anticipating this one, Simon Mason. We have

:00:30. > :00:35.indeed. Teams with contrasting styles. The Argentines will want to

:00:36. > :00:45.sit back and be compacted. One of the most effective zonal defence is

:00:46. > :01:00.in the game. Looking for corners for Peillat to step up. Dangerous

:01:01. > :01:04.upfront, Agustin Mazzilli. Peillat is unstoppable at times from the

:01:05. > :01:08.penalty corner set piece opportunities. Peillat will keep

:01:09. > :01:13.himself out of trouble, playing in the left back position. When the

:01:14. > :01:21.penalty corners arrive he steps forwards and has an eye for goal.

:01:22. > :01:25.It is something the Argentinians have put into practice in the

:01:26. > :01:30.semifinal particularly. Dominating the game against the Germans with

:01:31. > :01:34.Peillat scoring three from three and the Argentinians' percentage ratio

:01:35. > :01:42.is almost double that of any team in a competition.

:01:43. > :01:48.Mikkonen Thomas Briels was likely in the semifinal and could be a man to

:01:49. > :01:53.watch tonight for Belgium. Extraordinary noise around the

:01:54. > :02:00.stadium, it is fuller than it has been since the Olympic hockey

:02:01. > :02:01.tournament began. Great Britain are going for gold tomorrow against the

:02:02. > :02:37.Netherlands. A little channel has opened up and

:02:38. > :02:50.centre. All the way back to Emmanuel Stockbroekx 's. They have got it,

:02:51. > :02:57.what a start for Belgium. Tanguy Cosyns, he was on the right place at

:02:58. > :03:06.the right time. It has taken two and a half minutes of concerted

:03:07. > :03:13.pressure, recycling ball. Cosyns leans forward. The goalkeeper wasn't

:03:14. > :03:19.ready for it at any point. The coach will be delighted for Belgium. Don't

:03:20. > :03:26.throw that away, you might need it again! This is vital for Belgium,

:03:27. > :03:30.bad news for Argentina. Callum Guy cousins gets a little rest after his

:03:31. > :03:46.goal which will ignite the pace of this golden match. -- Tanguy Cosyns.

:03:47. > :03:50.The Belgian fans singing. Argentina normally so harmonious the way they

:03:51. > :03:54.sing through these games, they have been rather stunned into silence at

:03:55. > :03:57.the moment. With the exception of the Dutch against the Australians,

:03:58. > :04:02.the Belgians have handled the ball better than any other team in this

:04:03. > :04:06.competition. The small interchange passes, the precision of those

:04:07. > :04:10.interchanges has been outstanding and the Argentinians couldn't cope

:04:11. > :04:14.with it. If you take it side to side several times, the channels will

:04:15. > :04:28.open and they did and Cosyns was on hand. Boccard calling for it.

:04:29. > :04:37.Belgium happy to build steadily, with the early goal, in no rush to

:04:38. > :04:45.lose possession. Boccard with a little space in front. Gougnard just

:04:46. > :04:57.in front of him, he has gone back inside. Jerome treasons charging

:04:58. > :05:05.forward. Good left-hand stick skills but the ball is stolen by Truyens.

:05:06. > :05:12.One moment for Ms elite, he tried to put his body between the ball and

:05:13. > :05:22.the defender. Just step in, just tackle him from the wrong side.

:05:23. > :05:29.Charlie is in the circle, Belgium will try to get the ball delivered

:05:30. > :05:32.to him. A problem for Argentina is always this period of time the

:05:33. > :05:36.Belgians have the ball, they have to chase and run, to try to get it

:05:37. > :05:42.back. It is physically demanding to do that. It takes a load of pressure

:05:43. > :05:44.and puts a lot of pressure on the body and starts to get the fatigue

:05:45. > :05:55.built up. It is dry up the road at the

:05:56. > :06:03.Deodoro, but there is a threat of rain and we are expecting a shower

:06:04. > :06:10.or two. Aerial ball from one end of the field to the other. It was aimed

:06:11. > :06:23.for Ortiz and it very nearly found him. Juan Saladino, 19 for

:06:24. > :06:29.Argentina. Thinks about his options. His attempted cross is blocked. Try

:06:30. > :06:35.to force the ball through, the defence has not worked like that for

:06:36. > :06:39.anybody during this tournament. The ball took a couple of bounces and

:06:40. > :06:49.ended up as an Argentinian long corner. Into the circle. Ibarra just

:06:50. > :06:53.sweeping that ball in. It has been an Argentinian tactic for awhile

:06:54. > :06:58.now, they play one man up front and hit a long ball from deep and then

:06:59. > :07:07.tried to crash ball into the circle. A barracks has found his way all the

:07:08. > :07:08.way to the baseline. -- Ybarra. That will relieve the pressure on the

:07:09. > :07:21.Belgian defence for the moment. Thomas Barr, the President of the

:07:22. > :07:29.international Olympic committee, here to watch the men's Olympic

:07:30. > :07:32.finals. As a German, I expect he was hoping for a different fixture. He

:07:33. > :07:36.may well have been but it is fantastic for hockey this stadium is

:07:37. > :07:40.so full and rocking when the Argentinians get behind it. As

:07:41. > :07:44.President, he will want to see a full venue and everybody interested

:07:45. > :07:51.and engaged. The Germans will be on the podium a little later. The medal

:07:52. > :07:56.ceremony will involve the German side, they will collect them bronze.

:07:57. > :08:04.They were involved in a penalty shoot out against the Netherlands

:08:05. > :08:11.earlier today. That is a great take. Tom Briels has covered a lot of

:08:12. > :08:17.ground. He has had it stolen. Nice break-out from Ybarra. He has been

:08:18. > :08:34.bundled down, a bit of a tag between Ybarra and stock brooks -- stock

:08:35. > :08:41.rocks -- Stockbroekx. Masoe one of the key players. There are two

:08:42. > :08:45.players able to come in in case of injury and Argentina at two players

:08:46. > :08:51.picking up injuries earlier on in the tournament. They will be here

:08:52. > :08:58.and watching and they may even be on the bench. The new boys have to get

:08:59. > :09:10.up to speed very quickly. Masoe and Pedro Ibarra.

:09:11. > :09:16.Not a bad way to start an Olympic final, coming into the Olympic

:09:17. > :09:27.tournament, knowing you will get a medal whatever happens. The

:09:28. > :09:32.inspirational captain of Belgium, John-John Dohmen, calling for it on

:09:33. > :09:38.the right. Belgium threatening again, held up, the whistle has

:09:39. > :09:43.gone. Tom Boon having the word down there to John Wright, the umpire,

:09:44. > :09:47.suggesting he felt he was fouled. Tom Boon might have a role to play

:09:48. > :09:53.fair any penalty corners that come the way of Belgium. Here is

:09:54. > :09:57.John-John Dohmen again, lots of space ahead. Dohmen and Truyens

:09:58. > :10:06.playing a little passing interchange. Truyens now. Pondering

:10:07. > :10:10.about which way to go, he has gone back to Van Aubel. Van Aubel finds a

:10:11. > :10:18.way through to the centre of the field. Argentina claim it should

:10:19. > :10:22.have been a blue and white ball. I felt the first tackle here, this is

:10:23. > :10:26.the replay of Tom Boon coming down the middle of the pitch, he goes

:10:27. > :10:38.over Vivaldi, nothing malicious there, he felt he had been stick

:10:39. > :10:44.checked. Boccard. Dohmen. It is a good-looking pass across the floor,

:10:45. > :10:57.Briels has turned. Brilliant take on the pressure continues. Charlie

:10:58. > :11:02.eight and Briels look really lively. We have seen interchanges from Tom

:11:03. > :11:14.Boon and Briels has always been part of it but this contest in

:11:15. > :11:22.particular, they have players contributing forward. Rossi on his

:11:23. > :11:30.way, Argentina in the circle, reverse shot. Straight at the glove

:11:31. > :11:38.of Van as. Not a bad effort from Agustin Mazzilli. Just as he took it

:11:39. > :11:41.down in the circle, he couldn't get his feet in the right place. He

:11:42. > :11:51.needed a better angle and if the take a slightly wider... Gonzalo

:11:52. > :11:58.Peillat sends that down the line. Most take from Callioni. Callioni

:11:59. > :12:03.has managed to set up another attack. All the way to the baseline

:12:04. > :12:09.with Bruno, penalty corner awarded to Argentina. The first of this

:12:10. > :12:14.final. Boccard unable to get his feet out of the way. A little dink

:12:15. > :12:23.at the back, that would be a stick checked anyway. There is the body

:12:24. > :12:33.contact. Now, they step up to the top of the circle. Gonzalo Peillat

:12:34. > :12:38.has had only about three touches, his next one could be devastating.

:12:39. > :12:47.He has scored ten goals in the tournament so far.

:12:48. > :12:57.Argentina with the first penalty corner of the match. Hayat draws it

:12:58. > :13:04.back inside. Van as has let it slip and the goal is awarded. Hayat to

:13:05. > :13:11.the corner but it was Ibarra who pounced on it. Argentina switch

:13:12. > :13:16.routine that the top, that Tutte means the number one runner goes at

:13:17. > :13:21.Pelite and he finds space and Ibarra has all the space in the world. It

:13:22. > :13:27.is so close to being stopped on the line by Van Aubel. He can't get

:13:28. > :13:32.enough on it, it bobbles down, so close to an amazing save from the

:13:33. > :13:40.linemen but Ibarra with enough time to drag it through the goalkeeper.

:13:41. > :13:48.Belgium on all -- Belgium 1-1 Argentina. A role reversal in the

:13:49. > :13:54.stands. Belgian fans are silent, Argentina in good voice now. That is

:13:55. > :13:56.what happens when you have a world-class number one flicker off

:13:57. > :14:09.the top. Players have to step in. No goal, it hit a foot on the way

:14:10. > :14:13.through, it was drilled across by Stockbroekx. The referee absolutely

:14:14. > :14:20.on the spot, knowing it hit a red foot on the way through. Charlier,

:14:21. > :14:27.it pops off, he touches it in second phase but what a pick-up that was.

:14:28. > :14:30.Unlucky not to get control. I thought the ball was out of play.

:14:31. > :14:45.The umpire was on that line watching it closely.

:14:46. > :15:01.Stockbroekx Lowick light part's right.

:15:02. > :15:13.Gougnard, a lively move across field.

:15:14. > :15:19.Van Doren could not make the track. The ball was bouncing towards him

:15:20. > :15:25.but I think he would expect to get control of that. You can tell he

:15:26. > :15:28.expected it because there was no foot movement. If players are

:15:29. > :15:34.certain they will get their feet behind the ball, stay vertical, take

:15:35. > :15:38.it in that position because it is safer. They have been so good they

:15:39. > :15:46.think they can take it away with an easy take. What an aerial ball from

:15:47. > :15:54.Peillat. The danger has not gone for Belgium. There are appeals for a

:15:55. > :15:58.penalty corner. Mazzilli thought it had touched a foot. What a final

:15:59. > :16:03.this has become in this first quarter. Very physical. Players

:16:04. > :16:13.falling left, right and centre. You feel that Brunet, down on the turf,

:16:14. > :16:17.it was a little theatrical. Peillat was pushed behind from a Belgian

:16:18. > :16:32.stick. Into the circle again. Argentina

:16:33. > :16:41.have control. Argentina have scored! Argentina 2- Belgium one.

:16:42. > :16:53.We think it was Ortiz the score. Who is that getting praise from his

:16:54. > :16:59.team-mates? Difficult to see. Great from the umpire. As it comes down,

:17:00. > :17:19.flicked across, Vanasch. I think it is Ortiz. Touched in field by Lucas

:17:20. > :17:28.Vila. Great umpiring. Belgium 1-2 Argentina.

:17:29. > :17:46.Can Belgium launch another attack with seconds on the clock?

:17:47. > :17:58.That was close. Two players on the floor, one defender and an attacker.

:17:59. > :18:03.And that ends the first quarter. Value for money with three goals in

:18:04. > :18:09.the first 15 minutes. Belgium first, Argentina striking back twice.

:18:10. > :18:15.STUDIO: Look at the Argentine fans are enjoying themselves. Matt

:18:16. > :18:20.Chilton was saying the atmosphere is fantastic at the hockey and we will

:18:21. > :18:29.be back there shortly. Day 13 of the Games, just gone 5:15pm here, 9:15pm

:18:30. > :18:36.back home. We can bring you up to date with the headlines.

:18:37. > :18:41.Beside us on Copacabana Beach it was a gold and silver for the Brownlee

:18:42. > :18:45.brothers who dominated the triathlon. Alistair Brownlee

:18:46. > :18:49.crossing first and then a brotherly hug with Jonny Brownlee, who took

:18:50. > :18:58.silver. It was a gold medal for Hannah Mills

:18:59. > :19:05.Saskia Clark. They had silver four years ago and have gone one better

:19:06. > :19:14.this time around. It was a silver this time in the

:19:15. > :19:18.men's double kayak for Heath and Schofield. At the same medal

:19:19. > :19:24.snatched away in 2012. A reversal of fortune this time, just squeezing

:19:25. > :19:29.home in second place. The colour of the medal was bronze

:19:30. > :19:34.for the badminton duo of Ellis and Langridge. An unexpected bronze

:19:35. > :19:38.medal, amazing bronze medal, beating the fifth Chinese pair in that

:19:39. > :19:43.match. It will either be a gold or silver

:19:44. > :19:47.for Nicola Adams who is into the gold medal match like four years ago

:19:48. > :19:50.when she took the top medal in London will stop can she do it again

:19:51. > :20:04.and become a double Olympic champion?

:20:05. > :20:07.Jade Jones is through to the final of the taekwondo. She like Nicola

:20:08. > :20:10.Adams is a defending champion from four years ago and is the

:20:11. > :20:16.overwhelming favourite to take the gold medal.

:20:17. > :20:22.She fights at 2am your time in the UK. That will be on BBC One. We are

:20:23. > :20:25.going back to the hockey and this amazing match between Belgium and

:20:26. > :20:34.Argentina. Simon and Matt Chilton once again.

:20:35. > :20:40.Belgium still trailing 2-1 and with the first serious attack of the

:20:41. > :20:47.second quarter. Argentina will have possession.

:20:48. > :20:53.What a start to this gold medal match. Neither side has ever won the

:20:54. > :21:00.Olympic title before. The closest Belgium came was in 1920, when they

:21:01. > :21:05.were the Olympic bronze-medallists. Argentina's women have traditionally

:21:06. > :21:10.been the more successful of the two sides, but it is the men who have

:21:11. > :21:13.shone at this Olympic tournament and they are guaranteed a silver,

:21:14. > :21:22.leading the way early in the second quarter by 2-1 will stop you feel

:21:23. > :21:25.the Argentines have not exerted themselves on this game completely

:21:26. > :21:29.as they did in the semifinal. They have not been able to get the

:21:30. > :21:32.control they would like. The Belgians holding the ball well but

:21:33. > :21:38.looking dangerous every time they come forward. Argentina know they

:21:39. > :21:42.need another goal on the board to give them security and allow them to

:21:43. > :21:50.sit back in the zonal defence. What control from the Belgian captain,

:21:51. > :21:53.Dohmen. He will set up the next attack, going all the way back.

:21:54. > :22:09.Flicking gets to left. Penalty corner has been awarded to

:22:10. > :22:15.Belgium. Their first opportunity to get a goal from the penalty corner

:22:16. > :22:19.set piece. Van Strydonck cleverly taking the ball back into the

:22:20. > :22:23.Argentinian defender, creating the impact that draws the penalty

:22:24. > :22:25.corner, it is the obstruction, the player not being able to get to the

:22:26. > :22:48.ball. Luypaert is there, the number 25.

:22:49. > :22:55.Gougnard is not far away. Wide of the goalkeeper's right-hand post.

:22:56. > :23:04.Gougnard started on the baseline for the injection, needed to get closer

:23:05. > :23:10.to give Luypaert a chance. You have to hit the target at this stage of

:23:11. > :23:19.the game. John-John Dohmen has real pace and urgency. The first two had

:23:20. > :23:29.a half minutes of the second quarter have been all Belgium.

:23:30. > :23:35.Dohmen thought he would get a reverse shot on that ball but no

:23:36. > :23:41.luck. A crucial step forward is by Peillat in the circle, taken pretty

:23:42. > :23:46.much dead from the left-wing cross. If you are going to back Mark, back

:23:47. > :23:47.mark within a metre and as your opponent approaches, step forward

:23:48. > :24:23.and steal it away. Now into Argentina's half of the

:24:24. > :24:33.field and hassled all the way. It will be a Belgium free hit. Dohmen

:24:34. > :24:40.is dangerous in that position. It is a Belgium ball. The Argentinians

:24:41. > :24:43.appealing that the ball went high and dangerous. Argentina stepped

:24:44. > :24:56.forward. It felt to me it was above the knee. Argentina taking no

:24:57. > :25:06.chances. Gilardi making sure he did not take that down.

:25:07. > :25:11.It was a difficult ball. This is dangerous. Belgium queueing up to

:25:12. > :25:17.have a shot. Vivaldi had to be alert to the danger. Belgium appealing

:25:18. > :25:22.that they felt the whistle was blown too early. A free hit could have

:25:23. > :25:29.been given. John Wright allowing it to play on. Dockier went for it and

:25:30. > :25:33.the whistle has gone, playing it down and screaming at the umpire.

:25:34. > :25:39.Belgium will get their second penalty corner opportunity the

:25:40. > :25:56.second of this quarter and only the second of the match.

:25:57. > :26:11.Saved. Argentina have not cleared it. They have now. Three Argentina

:26:12. > :26:26.players down in the Belgian 23. That took the sting out of the attack,

:26:27. > :26:32.the counterattack for Argentina. Van -- from the penalty corner, he had

:26:33. > :26:37.gone down the middle. I think he was looking for rebound. Go down the

:26:38. > :26:53.middle set your rebound positions up to pick up the second chance.

:26:54. > :26:58.See the penalty corner. Straight down. The reverse stick was the

:26:59. > :27:13.target. Belgium rather trapped in their own

:27:14. > :27:21.corner. They need to find a way out of this. Argentina clear. The

:27:22. > :27:25.penalty corner has been awarded. John-John Dohmen penalised for

:27:26. > :27:29.deliberately knocking the ball over the baseline. For a man normally

:27:30. > :27:36.cool and composed, the pressure brought to bear by Lucas Vila.

:27:37. > :27:42.Dohmen, on the rotation, one hand of the state. It was decided that it

:27:43. > :27:50.was a deliberate file. This could be the time when Peillat makes his mark

:27:51. > :27:59.on this Olympic final. They tried the slip inside at the last and

:28:00. > :28:02.first penalty corner. Argentina, in the first quarter. Peillat is lined

:28:03. > :28:14.up. They might do something more traditional. Gonzalo has scored.

:28:15. > :28:19.That is what he does time and again. Vanasch got nowhere near it. It is a

:28:20. > :28:25.stick down rather than a kicker extended. Unfortunately for the line

:28:26. > :28:32.ran behind. I have never seen Carlos with nothing to say. Vanasch got

:28:33. > :28:40.nowhere near it and the touch he does get completely stitches up his

:28:41. > :28:50.line man Van Strydonck behind him. Peillat 11 goal of the Olympics. He

:28:51. > :28:58.gives Argentina a 3-1 lead. -- Peillat's 11th. The Hatchet is his

:28:59. > :29:02.nickname back in Argentina. Testament to his initial

:29:03. > :29:13.international career. His tackling was not pretty.

:29:14. > :29:38.Now it is the third goal. I think he will keep things compressed for

:29:39. > :29:40.Argentina, which will mean that Belgium will struggle to find the

:29:41. > :30:03.space for the long balls in. That was not a bad shot from

:30:04. > :30:09.Gauthier Boccard. Let it bounce and had a right old swing at it. Great

:30:10. > :30:14.umpiring. John Wright saw he will take it clean and he absolutely

:30:15. > :30:21.belted it. If that had hit Vivaldi it would have knocked him into the

:30:22. > :30:29.back of his own net! Argentina moving down the right flank. That

:30:30. > :30:37.was a good-looking ball in. Vanasch just got a hand to it, good

:30:38. > :30:44.goalkeeping. Fantastic. Vanasch read it well. The reverse run. The ball

:30:45. > :30:47.going right, the shape of the pass. The player cuts Sinfield and the

:30:48. > :30:51.ball is dropped under the arm into the space.

:30:52. > :31:06.Argentina in no hurry at the moment. This is the penalty flick maestro.

:31:07. > :31:08.Settling down in his left back role. He does play some crisp, clean

:31:09. > :31:28.passes, as well. Belgium back in possession. Six and

:31:29. > :31:38.a half minutes left in the half. This is the men's hockey gold medal

:31:39. > :31:46.match. Thomas Briels to the corner, can he find a way through? The

:31:47. > :31:49.supporting umpire deciding there was a stick tackle. We can hear the

:31:50. > :32:03.noise but they doesn't necessarily mean it is a foul. Three blue and

:32:04. > :32:06.white shirts to clear their lines. Peillat in a forward position,

:32:07. > :32:17.flicks it down to the right and the attack continues. Peillat scene

:32:18. > :32:22.changing his forward position, as if he has a little rope on the halfway

:32:23. > :32:26.line. Getting called back by his deep defenders, he doesn't need to

:32:27. > :32:39.get involved there, ball carrying is not his forte. Boccard. Back to Van

:32:40. > :32:44.Doren. Van Doren on a little solo surged down the centre, he has taken

:32:45. > :32:50.up a forward position. Under the Argentinian stick of Stockbroekx.

:32:51. > :33:21.Van Doren finding Stockbroekx again. Noise coming from the Argentinian

:33:22. > :33:28.supporters, they want something to happen. Argentina have possession.

:33:29. > :33:35.Isidoro Ibarra, the late replacement for the injured Argentina player.

:33:36. > :33:43.They said that one in pace. So close, to reach from Saladino inside

:33:44. > :33:46.the circle. The interchange between the players, outstanding, as they

:33:47. > :33:51.are going in as forward positions and before that moment, the Belgians

:33:52. > :34:00.had a good 60 seconds of concerted possession but were not able to get

:34:01. > :34:10.anywhere. For me,... Argentina away again. Callioni barged off the ball.

:34:11. > :34:12.No card shown but it will be an Argentina free hit in a dangerous

:34:13. > :34:31.position. Peillat centre Tim, looking for a

:34:32. > :34:38.team-mate. -- Peillat send it in. Vila deep on the baseline looking to

:34:39. > :34:41.the touch. The forwards in front of Peillat are leaning back towards the

:34:42. > :34:54.goal, dragging the defenders deep and accelerating forward further

:34:55. > :34:57.touches. -- for the touches. We can hear Christian Black saying,

:34:58. > :35:00.definitely not, in response to the reaction from Argentina that the

:35:01. > :35:10.ball had gone five metres before it was played into the circle. Van

:35:11. > :35:16.Aubel hold it up and sends it across field, picked up in the centre. Back

:35:17. > :35:21.to that side. Hoping that Boccard could get control but he lost it and

:35:22. > :35:29.possession. Argentina break forward one more time. Up to halfway, the

:35:30. > :35:36.umpires, incidentally, John Wright from South Africa, Christian Black

:35:37. > :35:40.from Germany. Early on, I was talking about the decision to put

:35:41. > :35:44.the ball in dangerous places, I didn't mean for Belgian offensively,

:35:45. > :35:49.I meant high risk places. They need to try to drag a few Argentinian

:35:50. > :35:52.players to the ball and then a little lateral pass, they will then

:35:53. > :36:00.be able to go forward with space and time. Down to the corner. Tom Boon

:36:01. > :36:11.has done well, good ball skills from him. Argentina... The restart will

:36:12. > :36:16.be Belgium's. Stockbroekx miscued that. It was very nearly three

:36:17. > :36:22.against one on the Argentina counter, then the whistle went and

:36:23. > :36:29.Belgium restore possession. Charlier denied Denayer. A player is down on

:36:30. > :36:52.the turf. Charlier is involved. Elliot van Strydonck gets taken out

:36:53. > :36:59.with a shoulder from Rossi. One of the Belgian players is off the field

:37:00. > :37:03.at the moment, Charlier has a two minute suspension, he will miss them

:37:04. > :37:08.rest of this first half and the start of the second half. 40 seconds

:37:09. > :37:21.left in the second period. Stockbroekx. He has covered quite a

:37:22. > :37:27.bit of ground. John-John Dohmen. Eager to take this long corner

:37:28. > :37:38.quickly. Forward they come. In a bit of space, into the circle and that

:37:39. > :37:43.was pretty close. Great little reverse touch, lateral pass, into

:37:44. > :37:47.the circle, John-John Dohmen leaning backwards and touched it on his

:37:48. > :37:53.right foot, changing the angle, going away from angle and back to

:37:54. > :38:00.the near post. It is half-time. What a half it has been. Belgium first

:38:01. > :38:05.off the mark with Tanguy Cosyns and then the three goals from Argentina,

:38:06. > :38:07.from Pedro Ibarra, Ignacio Ortiz and then from Gonzalo Peillat at the

:38:08. > :38:21.penalty corner set piece. We shall continue to show you that

:38:22. > :38:24.on the BBC and we will give you all the information on that one because

:38:25. > :38:29.Argentina leading Belgium 3-1 at half-time.

:38:30. > :38:35.Neither of these nations have ever won an Olympic gold medal and they

:38:36. > :38:41.are both incredibly supported at the hockey.

:38:42. > :38:50.This is Eddie Brocklesby with the greatest cast you have ever seen.

:38:51. > :38:56.You are a UK's oldest iron woman at the age, would you believe, of 73.

:38:57. > :39:02.It is incredible. She has flown over specifically to watch the triathlon

:39:03. > :39:07.and the badminton. Did you have to choose today? I did this morning,

:39:08. > :39:10.but the guys got bronze in the badminton so thrilled. You binned

:39:11. > :39:15.off the badminton and watched the triathlon? You might have made a

:39:16. > :39:18.good decision because if you have any questions for eddy, send them

:39:19. > :39:22.through while we watch this because you came here to watch the triathlon

:39:23. > :39:25.and badminton and I think you picked the right one because the Bradley

:39:26. > :39:31.brothers did the business right next to us on Copacabana this morning. --

:39:32. > :39:35.the Brownlee brothers. Alastair and his younger brother Jonny primed and

:39:36. > :39:44.ready to race. They are away. What a spectacle as the Brownlee

:39:45. > :39:54.brothers hit the waves and get to work. Richard Varga could be one to

:39:55. > :39:59.watch. The swim is always up and Richard Varga has led right from the

:40:00. > :40:06.start. He set a cracking pace. Varga comes out of the water. Alistair

:40:07. > :40:11.Brownlee hot on his heels. Jonny is next, gets is by Calvet on and beats

:40:12. > :40:20.him out of transition. So far so good. Alastair and Jonathan Brownlee

:40:21. > :40:30.up near the front. A leading group of ten. That margin has now been

:40:31. > :40:33.extended. Within that group, they do have an song Louise, he could give

:40:34. > :40:42.the Brownlee brothers run their money. Is that Gordon Benson who has

:40:43. > :40:52.come unstuck? He has had a prime. The Brownlee brothers arrive. Jonny

:40:53. > :40:57.is first to move. It is the Brownlee brothers who have got away from the

:40:58. > :41:03.rest of the field. Little kick from Alastair, able to move it up a gear.

:41:04. > :41:14.The boys from Yorkshire move clear of the field. This man holds the

:41:15. > :41:17.bronze medal at the moment. Alastair beginning to grimace as he does and

:41:18. > :41:22.he has moved away from his younger brother. There was a decisive move.

:41:23. > :41:32.Alistair Brownlee on his way potentially to become the first man

:41:33. > :41:38.to win two triathlon golds. Alistair Brownlee is the finest triathlete we

:41:39. > :41:46.have ever seen. Thumbs up to all as his family and friends are watching.

:41:47. > :41:54.It is a 1- two, a gold and silver for the Brownlee brothers. I just

:41:55. > :41:59.had the edge on Jonny, but he has killed me in training almost

:42:00. > :42:05.everyday. I had to go through hell today.

:42:06. > :42:11.What a story for the Brownlee family, what did you make of it?

:42:12. > :42:17.Absolutely brilliant, so proud of them and the discipline they must've

:42:18. > :42:23.trained with for so long, fantastic. You are 73 and running triathlons.

:42:24. > :42:28.Explain to us about the shoulder? I went to do a New York triathlon with

:42:29. > :42:32.my sons and I was going to Billy Joel concert two days earlier and I

:42:33. > :42:37.fell over on the New York pavement so I didn't get to the triathlon.

:42:38. > :42:42.Did you get to the Billy Joel concert? He is brilliant! I take it

:42:43. > :42:47.you did then! He is coming to England in September so I will be

:42:48. > :42:52.there as well. You couldn't take part in the New York triathlon. I

:42:53. > :42:57.fractured my shoulder. How did you get into it in the first place. Not

:42:58. > :43:06.much longer than ten years, probably. Running since the age of

:43:07. > :43:10.50 and triathlon probably 62, 60 three. You took up triathlon at the

:43:11. > :43:17.age of 62 and running at the age of 50. Had he been an exercise before

:43:18. > :43:23.that? Had you been taking part in any sport before that? A tiny bit of

:43:24. > :43:27.netball. Apart from that, none. I just went to watch a friend do a

:43:28. > :43:32.marathon in Nottingham where I had been at university and I thought I

:43:33. > :43:36.would quite like to do that. I told my husband and he said, you couldn't

:43:37. > :43:42.run three miles and so the challenge was laid down. And I have been doing

:43:43. > :43:47.it ever since, I have done several London marathons and then I got into

:43:48. > :43:52.dry, partly because my knees have severe arthritis and I knew I

:43:53. > :43:56.wouldn't be to pound the streets at the fantastic rate Alistair Brownlee

:43:57. > :44:02.was doing today. Triathlon is much more balanced, particularly for

:44:03. > :44:07.older people. Biking, I have no problems with despite knee injuries.

:44:08. > :44:11.We have been talking a lot about people watching the Olympics and

:44:12. > :44:14.being inspired to take part. Normally I say, it is for younger

:44:15. > :44:18.people but you have come to the sport very late in life and you are

:44:19. > :44:23.competing now and enjoying it and you have also started this charity

:44:24. > :44:27.called silver fit, so dishonest thinking, I am 55, I could never run

:44:28. > :44:34.a marathon or at triathlon, what would you say to them? Many people

:44:35. > :44:38.might be saying, it's great you can do it and I could never do it. It is

:44:39. > :44:43.never too late to get that bit fitter. Everyone knows the more

:44:44. > :44:45.exercise you do, the healthier and happier you are. That is the key

:44:46. > :44:54.thing to getting more active. Schuman is working, you got people

:44:55. > :45:03.joining you for running and swimming and cycling? No, physical activity.

:45:04. > :45:06.Walking, Pilates, a whole range of activities, silver cheerleading is

:45:07. > :45:11.getting very popular. How does that work? We've got training from

:45:12. > :45:15.professional cheerleaders in our silver team, we'll be at one of the

:45:16. > :45:20.professional football clubs yet, you watch it. We put on the screen our

:45:21. > :45:24.hashtag. If you go to the website, if you are inspired by any of the

:45:25. > :45:27.sport you see in the Olympic Games, could be triathlon, could be

:45:28. > :45:31.anything you see tonight on BBC Four, go on their and you can find

:45:32. > :45:35.the nearest club to you for any of the sports we're covering at the

:45:36. > :45:38.Olympic Games, loads of information, information sheets about how to get

:45:39. > :45:44.kids involved, how you can get involved. At elite level, people

:45:45. > :45:48.might want to get involved with triathlon side of things but might

:45:49. > :45:51.not ever get to the standard the Brownlees Bharat. When you see the

:45:52. > :45:56.best in the world, they are the best, gold and silver today just

:45:57. > :46:00.behind us here, try and explain to us if you can what it's like to

:46:01. > :46:03.watch somebody doing the very best. There is a chap in the background

:46:04. > :46:12.desperate to get TV so we will try our best not to get him on he's been

:46:13. > :46:17.there for ages. Mauricio has just got rid of him! Do not mess with

:46:18. > :46:22.him! Bit of Olympic wrestling for you. How good is the standard you

:46:23. > :46:26.see from these guys and how inspiring is it for you, who

:46:27. > :46:30.competes at amateur level, to see them doing that? It's absolutely

:46:31. > :46:35.inspirational partly because of the amount of training and focus they've

:46:36. > :46:38.had to devote for so many years. I signed up after watching track

:46:39. > :46:46.cycling a couple of days ago, I signed up for the Frankfurt Ironman

:46:47. > :46:50.next year. Now I'm even stronger. Hold the minute, Eddie, to let you

:46:51. > :46:57.know, as suspected, the hockey is now going to continue on BBC One. It

:46:58. > :47:02.was so good they have nabbed it. The hockey is on BBC One with Argentina

:47:03. > :47:06.leading Belgium 3-1 at half-time, just about to start the second half.

:47:07. > :47:12.You can continue to see that on BBC One in a few moments, 30 seconds.

:47:13. > :47:17.Matt Chilton and Simon Mason will do the commentary, sorry to leave it on

:47:18. > :47:20.BBC Four, BBC One will take it for the second half and the gold medal

:47:21. > :47:24.will be handed out at the end. We've got Eddie with us. You signed up for

:47:25. > :47:30.this, another Ironman, how long are you going to keep going? I don't

:47:31. > :47:34.know, but I'm going to keep enjoying. It's the fun of competing

:47:35. > :47:39.with other people, training, having a goal, meeting the people I do. I

:47:40. > :47:43.just love it. When is the shoulder going to be back in action? I can't

:47:44. > :47:47.swim, which is never a problem for me, because I'm not the best of

:47:48. > :47:51.swimmers anyway, but I think probably within a couple of weeks

:47:52. > :47:55.I'll go back and check it. I've got quite good mobility now, I'm

:47:56. > :47:59.pleased. They were surprised, the doctors, how fast it had recovered,

:48:00. > :48:04.so I think there is a message about being that bit fitter and stronger,

:48:05. > :48:09.you do recover faster. In the nicest possible way, you don't strike me as

:48:10. > :48:13.a normal 73-year-old. LAUGHTER I imagine you probably heal much

:48:14. > :48:18.better and quicker than most 73-year-olds. Who has designed...

:48:19. > :48:22.Let's have a quick look, is this a personal design for the Rio games?

:48:23. > :48:28.Absolutely, this is an ordinary sling they gave me. You have sown on

:48:29. > :48:33.a union Jack. My daughter sold on the union Jack, isn't it great? What

:48:34. > :48:41.else will you see while you are here? I've had a fantastic time

:48:42. > :48:44.already, being older, having a sleeve, they've been fantastic, I've

:48:45. > :48:52.got to get half-price because of my age, you go on transport for free

:48:53. > :48:57.because I'm old. Serious benefits to being 73. I'm loving it, absolutely

:48:58. > :49:01.loving it, I'd love to come back to Rio when it's not the Olympic Games,

:49:02. > :49:06.and enjoy the things I haven't seen, haven't had time. I've been to a lot

:49:07. > :49:11.of things, I saw Mo Farah's MK, it was pretty spectacular. The British

:49:12. > :49:19.boys behind me... Go on, do Usain Bolt. Do Usain Bolt, you going to do

:49:20. > :49:23.it? There you go. Well done. And there is a fella... I hope it's not

:49:24. > :49:27.the real Olympic torch. Good evening sir, nice to see you. It's all

:49:28. > :49:31.happening on the beach. Eddie, it's been a pleasure to talk to you.

:49:32. > :49:34.We've encouraged them now. It's been a real pleasure, thank you so much,

:49:35. > :49:39.hopefully listening to Eddie at home, watching Eddie at home... One

:49:40. > :49:44.more mention, silver fit, look it up. Doing some amazing things. If

:49:45. > :49:47.you are inspired by her story, anything else you've seen at the

:49:48. > :49:52.games, we've been trying to show you these, because there are so many

:49:53. > :49:55.inspirational stories, people who freely put the working to make sure

:49:56. > :49:59.when they can come here they can give it their all. Some go home with

:50:00. > :50:13.a medal, for some of them it's just about being an Olympian.

:50:14. > :50:23.# What would the world be # If we let it be just mine

:50:24. > :50:26.# What would a smile be if not a tear sometimes

:50:27. > :50:31.# Sister sister I know it could be easy, yeah

:50:32. > :50:42.# Now keep your head up, talk to me, I know it could be easy

:50:43. > :50:50.# Keep your head up, talk to me # I know it could be easy

:50:51. > :50:54.# What would the world be # What would a smile be if not a

:50:55. > :51:27.tear What an absolute superstar Eddie

:51:28. > :51:31.was, 73-year-old, Eddie Brocklesby, still running triathlon she was

:51:32. > :51:34.brilliant. But her shoulder at the moment, she's chatting with various

:51:35. > :51:39.Brazilians and other people, enjoying herself in Rio, maybe that

:51:40. > :51:43.the secret. Half price tickets, free travel, the sling has done her well,

:51:44. > :51:47.she has got a real injury if you are wondering. She managed to get to the

:51:48. > :51:51.Billy Joel concert despite the fractured shoulder, she'll be back

:51:52. > :51:55.doing triathlon at some stage as soon as she possibly can. A reminder

:51:56. > :51:59.if you are here for the hockey, we will get you the second half, you'll

:52:00. > :52:04.have to go to BBC One to watch the second half of the men's gold medal

:52:05. > :52:08.match in hockey, Argentina leading Belgium by three, still 3-1 at the

:52:09. > :52:14.moment, on BBC One. Later on BBC One, J Jones is going to go in her

:52:15. > :52:18.gold medal tae kwon do final. She is the reigning champion from four

:52:19. > :52:22.years ago, the overwhelming favourite to win gold again. She's

:52:23. > :52:28.made it to the final, that'll be at 2am UK time on BBC One. More tae

:52:29. > :52:38.kwon do. The men's semifinal. This is the Russian taking an I've

:52:39. > :52:46.written the name down incorrectly... The Belgian. I can't read my own

:52:47. > :52:47.writing, terribly written down. John Cullen and Neil Adams are calling

:52:48. > :53:06.this one for us. The coach enjoying the occasion,

:53:07. > :53:11.what a big occasion this is, final is at stake for these men. It's all

:53:12. > :53:19.on the line now. They know what they've got to do. Certainly for me,

:53:20. > :53:25.I think both have got to get their heads together, stick to their game

:53:26. > :53:30.plan. They have had talks to their coaches, their coaches know what

:53:31. > :53:36.they are going to do. Alexey Denisenko against Jaouad Achab

:53:37. > :53:48.looking forward to a great bout. Both fighters in six minutes from

:53:49. > :53:56.the final. Kim from Canada is the man in the middle. A typical show of

:53:57. > :54:04.etiquette and respect. That will all disappear now. The fight is about to

:54:05. > :54:10.happen. Russia against Belgium, Denisenko against Achab. That opens

:54:11. > :54:14.down straightaway. We mentioned the game plans they will have had, they

:54:15. > :54:21.will have discussed that. Achab the short of the two. Denisenko stands

:54:22. > :54:27.at six feet one. Achab five feet ten. He's going to have to change

:54:28. > :54:33.the angle but he's used to fighting against taller people. He's so quick

:54:34. > :54:42.in there, Achab, he really is, he closes that gap very quickly. He's

:54:43. > :54:49.not just moving in, it's moving out as well, to rear portion your weight

:54:50. > :54:53.and get ready for the next. In all sports if action and reaction,

:54:54. > :54:56.trying to get momentum, trying to force your opponent onto the back

:54:57. > :55:06.foot. Or let them do the thing they want to do. Give them space. But

:55:07. > :55:11.refusing to move forward at the moment. Achab just having a look

:55:12. > :55:15.down the barrel, so to speak, at the Russian, Denisenko, on the front

:55:16. > :55:28.foot. Back leg turning kick. Well blocked. The Belgian having to

:55:29. > :55:33.battle hard here. It's been the simple push kicks really racking up,

:55:34. > :55:38.and the head kicks as well. The accuracy, certainly the push kick.

:55:39. > :55:45.It's the safest technique to go with. There are sensors on those

:55:46. > :55:48.socks, on the heel, that is why the push kick is safe, it gives you the

:55:49. > :55:59.longest distance, like a boxer's jab. Achab jabs one out there. Achab

:56:00. > :56:02.trying to go with a little cut to the body, then up to the head.

:56:03. > :56:09.Denisenko with a back leg turning kick. It's a good first round from

:56:10. > :56:18.both men. Not much to choose between them. Not much at all. It's amazing

:56:19. > :56:23.how much range he's got, Achab. Even though he is the shorter of the two,

:56:24. > :56:28.he's got great range. He gets up to the head very easily. Totally agree,

:56:29. > :56:32.he's got excellent flexibility. Sometimes being taller, it's not

:56:33. > :56:35.always an advantage, it's a height difference. If you are used to

:56:36. > :56:44.fighting taller people, some things can be good for you. When you are

:56:45. > :56:49.fighting opposite, left against Right, right against left, you get

:56:50. > :56:54.used to handling the difference in the body position, that's exactly

:56:55. > :57:03.what happening here. In prime position. It's a close one.

:57:04. > :57:35.Denisenko puts the right foot in front. Achab, the left. A good push

:57:36. > :57:46.kick there. Decent purchase on it. Can't buy a point at the moment, the

:57:47. > :57:52.Belgian. Denisenko just trying to fake and intimidate. Draw a

:57:53. > :57:53.reaction. It really is action - reaction, isn't it? From both of

:57:54. > :58:10.them. Brilliant to see. The Olympic Games final at stake,

:58:11. > :58:15.the gap between the two, who is going to be brave enough. Achab

:58:16. > :58:21.trying again with the pushing kick to get ever closer to Denisenko, we

:58:22. > :58:28.know how quickly he can change it around. It's the concentration on

:58:29. > :58:34.the face of the fighters. It is, because at this stage they know a

:58:35. > :58:37.mistake will put points on the board, then it changes the whole

:58:38. > :58:43.game when you are coming from behind. One of the other things

:58:44. > :58:46.about it, not just points, you can get knocked out in tae kwon do, if

:58:47. > :58:55.you get cracked in the face, it could be game over. Focus is so key.

:58:56. > :59:07.Especially as they are so accurate with the head shots. Who is going to

:59:08. > :59:13.commit? That is their main thing. 12 seconds left of this second round.

:59:14. > :59:17.Achab trying with the big punch. A good block again from the Belgian.

:59:18. > :59:26.Took the drop kick out of the sky, pushed it away. First round 0-0, the

:59:27. > :59:31.second is the same. I don't know why they are booing, they were both

:59:32. > :59:35.attacking, they were both defending very well. I agree with you, they

:59:36. > :59:44.are not there for entertainment, they are there to win. It's the

:59:45. > :59:53.focus in the face. Takes a lot of pain to win this sport. All about

:59:54. > :59:58.concentration, like you said before. Winning this game, you've got to win

:59:59. > :00:00.the match, semifinal. It's a final place at stake, isn't it?
