:00:32. > :00:41.Oh, yes, very nice touch from the American.

:00:42. > :00:46.So at the 13th, Inbee Park, the tournament leader. Long birdie

:00:47. > :01:02.opportunity for the Korean. Just calms down over a little slope,

:01:03. > :01:14.here, and that is all right, about four or five feet short.

:01:15. > :01:34.A stretch of holes from 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, a really tough slog, quite

:01:35. > :01:51.exposed, some tough holes. Behind them on 13 is Stacy Lewis,

:01:52. > :02:23.all three players reaching the green, making it in two.

:02:24. > :02:46.A birdie putt, Stacy Lewis on 13 has a chance. Good effort.

:02:47. > :02:56.At the 16th, second shot to the 16th by In Gee Chun. Coming up a little

:02:57. > :03:21.short. We are going to leave the Gulf at

:03:22. > :03:25.this stage on BBC Four and a warm welcome to Copacabana Beach. We are

:03:26. > :03:28.going to take you all the way through 2am, and the golf will be

:03:29. > :03:33.available on the Red Button and on the BBC website.

:03:34. > :03:39.Let's have this putt to birdie -- for birdie and see if you can make

:03:40. > :03:49.9-under par. I've always wanted to be Peter Alliss! Charley Hull, from

:03:50. > :03:53.25 feet. Oh, lovely. She will have that to save par and stay at 8-under

:03:54. > :03:56.par. We will keep you up-to-date with that and let you know how she

:03:57. > :04:00.finishes. Lots of live sport to bring you tonight. We will be at the

:04:01. > :04:09.BMX shortly but this is what is coming up on BBC for the night. --

:04:10. > :04:12.on BBC four tonight. In a moment, the thrills and spills of the Gold

:04:13. > :04:22.Medal races in the finals of the BMX. Lutalo Muhammad is hoping to

:04:23. > :04:26.emulate Jade Jones in her gold-medal triumph, he won bronze four years

:04:27. > :04:33.ago and his quarterfinalist soon and we will bring it to you. If anyone

:04:34. > :04:37.can stop America's dream team, it might be Spain, who won silver at

:04:38. > :04:43.the last two Olympic Games. They meet in this evening's semifinal.

:04:44. > :04:46.Sweden's women have already won two penalty shoot out at the games and

:04:47. > :04:53.now they take on Germany into night's final, also coming up. -- in

:04:54. > :04:58.the night's final. And we spoke to her mother the other night, Samantha

:04:59. > :05:03.Murray won a medal four years ago in the modern pentathlon but can she do

:05:04. > :05:08.it again in Rio? Right, we are going to go straight to the BMX medal

:05:09. > :05:11.matches. We promised you would get there straightaway. The women's at

:05:12. > :05:15.first, followed by the men's and they are ready to go so let's get

:05:16. > :05:21.straight across to the commentators. COMMENTATOR: Welcome back the BMX

:05:22. > :05:28.arena at Deodoro as the riders come up onto the stage and prepare for

:05:29. > :05:32.this Olympic final. They have two walk up the stairs, they don't catch

:05:33. > :05:38.a lift. They have the stairs, so many Colombians, cheering on the

:05:39. > :05:43.world champion and the Olympic champion, Mariana Pajon, she is on

:05:44. > :05:48.the inside line there's years, and Laura Smulders alongside her from

:05:49. > :05:51.the Netherlands. What a field and what a race. Just to remind viewers

:05:52. > :05:55.that although we have our best three in the quarterfinals and semifinals,

:05:56. > :06:00.when it gets to the final, this is it it is one and done. Exactly, one

:06:01. > :06:04.straight right to decide the Olympic champion. The semifinals will have

:06:05. > :06:07.given the seedings and the choice of Lane for the start. You want to be

:06:08. > :06:12.on the inside lane, and Mariana Pajon has that honour, of being in

:06:13. > :06:19.lane one and having the best chance of hitting the first corner first.

:06:20. > :06:21.Excitement building here, they are on the outside line from Elke

:06:22. > :06:26.Vanhoof from Belgium, very consistent, top ten finish in all

:06:27. > :06:32.three Supercross races held so far in this calendar year.

:06:33. > :06:42.Next to her, from France, Manon Valentino, the World Championship

:06:43. > :06:45.bronze medallist three years ago. Last year's world champion next to

:06:46. > :06:50.her from Venezuela, Stefany Hernandez. If she wins, she will

:06:51. > :06:59.become the first Venezuelan woman to ever win an Olympic Gold Medal. It's

:07:00. > :07:02.going to be tough from lane six. Yaroslava Bondarenko from Russia, 19

:07:03. > :07:12.years of age, fifth in the World Championship this year.

:07:13. > :07:28.From the United States, one of two American riders, Alise Post. World

:07:29. > :07:32.silver medallist two years ago. Brooke Crain, fourth in the World

:07:33. > :07:41.Championship last year from California, eighth in the Olympic

:07:42. > :07:42.final in London. Laura Smulders on the Netherlands, the Olympic bronze

:07:43. > :07:55.medallist from London. A big draw for a big star, the world

:07:56. > :07:58.champion and defending Olympic champion, Mariana Pajon of Colombia.

:07:59. > :08:12.-- a big roar. Huge expectation on Mariana Pajon

:08:13. > :08:18.committee, it seems as though the whole crowd is Colombian. Can she

:08:19. > :08:25.deal with the pressure? -- Mariana Pajon, here. As we say, they just

:08:26. > :08:30.get one shot at the gold, now. Riders ready. Watch the gate.

:08:31. > :08:34.Bursting out of the gate, Mariana Pajon nearest the camera, good start

:08:35. > :08:39.by Alise Post from the US, but Mariana Pajon has the inside track.

:08:40. > :08:43.She jumps the triples, through the first time, Manon Valentino is down

:08:44. > :08:46.at the first turn, Mariana Pajon leads. The crowd are beside

:08:47. > :08:51.themselves with excitement. Being chased all the way by the American,

:08:52. > :08:54.Alise Post in second place. Hernandez of Venezuelan Redbird.

:08:55. > :08:58.Through the rhythm section they go with one more turn to go. Here they

:08:59. > :09:03.come into the finishing straight, she's going to do it for Columbia!

:09:04. > :09:09.Mariana Pajon successfully defends her world title, she beat Alise Post

:09:10. > :09:12.of the USA to the line and the Venezuelan Stefany Hernandez take

:09:13. > :09:19.the bronze! What a moment, what a rider! The crowd have got what they

:09:20. > :09:23.came to see, a Colombian gold medal. That was fantastic from Mariana

:09:24. > :09:26.Pajon. Everybody in the ground with the yellow, blue and red flags

:09:27. > :09:30.waving. This is what they wanted to see. Fantastic performance and great

:09:31. > :09:35.to see the American rider Alise Post is so happy with her silver medal

:09:36. > :09:38.and Hernandez in third. All you can hope for, second place for Alise

:09:39. > :09:41.Post and in the circumstances, the way that Mariana Pajon is riding on

:09:42. > :09:47.everyone else was racing for second place. We saw Jamie staff, the

:09:48. > :09:51.former track cyclist for Great Britain, now the director of BMX,

:09:52. > :09:56.giving her a huge hug, lifting her off the ground, they are delighted

:09:57. > :10:00.to win a silver medal for America. Hernandez, pondering what might have

:10:01. > :10:03.been. She ends up with a bronze but there was only one winner and the

:10:04. > :10:06.most you can hope for in the Olympic Games is that the best person ends

:10:07. > :10:09.up with the gold medal around their neck and that is certainly going to

:10:10. > :10:15.be the case here because in every race over the day, the three in the

:10:16. > :10:19.semifinal and that one in the final, Mariana Pajon has delivered. She

:10:20. > :10:23.deals with all the pressure. She a massive star in Colombia. She dealt

:10:24. > :10:28.with the pressure of racing on her home track in the World

:10:29. > :10:32.Championships in May, the track that bears her name, no pressure there!

:10:33. > :10:34.You know all about that! But she delivered under that kind of

:10:35. > :10:38.pressure and spotlight and she has done it again in the Olympic Games,

:10:39. > :10:43.the first woman to win two macro gold medals in the BMX. Fantastic.

:10:44. > :10:47.She has been consistent. She hasn't just pulled it out of the bag in the

:10:48. > :10:51.final. Every step of the way, she's looked impressive. Never looked like

:10:52. > :11:01.she was in trouble at any stage and to deliver

:11:02. > :11:05.when all that expectation and all of that support from the home crowd,

:11:06. > :11:07.from the Colombian crowd, it feels like a home crowd! That was

:11:08. > :11:10.fantastic. Just coming into finish, all this time later, Manon Valentino

:11:11. > :11:13.France rolls over the line, battered from the crash. But the celebrations

:11:14. > :11:17.have already started back in Colombia and in the stands over on

:11:18. > :11:21.the far side and alongside our commentary position here. Mariana

:11:22. > :11:26.Pajon is directly below us. Here is the race once again. Great start for

:11:27. > :11:29.Mariana Pajon on the inside but Alise Post really challenged. It was

:11:30. > :11:35.only the fact she was on the outside that she did not take control. But

:11:36. > :11:39.just a very assured performance down the first straight, no mistakes. We

:11:40. > :11:44.quickly saw Valentino going based burst onto the deck. Look at the

:11:45. > :11:50.second rider from the left in blue. -- face first onto the deck. Front

:11:51. > :11:56.end first, over rotated and that is a nasty way to fall. The last

:11:57. > :12:03.corner. Oh, Laura Smulders on the deck. Just trying to turn too far

:12:04. > :12:08.and the front wheel cannot take the grip. She washes out and hit the

:12:09. > :12:13.deck very hard. As we said before, this is a nasty surface to fall on.

:12:14. > :12:17.She is desperately trying to take a tighter line to challenge Hernandez

:12:18. > :12:21.for the bronze medal. She had to throw everything at it and

:12:22. > :12:26.unfortunately, it did not fail. What a final and what a winner. A very

:12:27. > :12:33.worthy claimant of the gold medal. Let's go back to Jill Douglas at

:12:34. > :12:36.track-side. What a champion, Mariana Pajon and so popular among the

:12:37. > :12:42.Colombian fans. They came to see her win a second gold medal and she has

:12:43. > :12:45.delivered. I'm speechless, unbelievable, she is, even, among

:12:46. > :12:49.the athletes, she is regarded as the best in the world for the women. She

:12:50. > :12:54.is absolutely unbelievable, technical ability that you see the

:12:55. > :13:02.men do it, it is unbelievable, and these guys are going crazy. I can't

:13:03. > :13:06.even speak. I wish I was out there! It must be torturous for you to be

:13:07. > :13:10.standing here watching. I know you wanted to be involved and be on the

:13:11. > :13:17.bike but why is she so good? Why can she be so consistent? I remember her

:13:18. > :13:21.at 12 or 13, and her technical ability then was unparalleled.

:13:22. > :13:26.Obviously, she has maturing to a young woman. She has got the

:13:27. > :13:31.strength to deliver great starts and honestly, she is on her day,

:13:32. > :13:40.unbeatable. We saw that today, to back up the Olympic title to now

:13:41. > :13:44.draw level with the men's record-holder is unbelievable. Back

:13:45. > :13:49.to you later. Back to Dan. And good to see Lee in good shape. We will be

:13:50. > :13:52.back for the men's race in a moment but we will switch our attention to

:13:53. > :13:56.the taekwondo now because Lutalo Muhammad is representing Great

:13:57. > :13:59.Britain, had a bronze four years ago in London at is involved in the

:14:00. > :14:06.quarterfinal, taking on Steven Lopez, coming out right now, this is

:14:07. > :14:11.a bit of pedigree this event, representing team USA, a gold

:14:12. > :14:16.medallist in 2000 and 2004, and a bronze medallist in Beijing in 2008.

:14:17. > :14:20.But look how confident and house move, he looks like he's enjoying it

:14:21. > :14:23.but I wonder what he is feeling behind the smile? The talk through

:14:24. > :14:30.the quarterfinal, let's go to Neil Adams and John.

:14:31. > :14:37.COMMENTATOR: Lopez, you can audibly hear here and saying he came here to

:14:38. > :14:42.win, Stephen Jennings, much more calm and cool. It was a very calm

:14:43. > :14:48.and cool performance, 14-0 win in the first round. That was for Lutalo

:14:49. > :14:55.Muhammad. Both men will know each other well. Final prayers and

:14:56. > :15:05.preparation and this one is a potential classic. Referee making

:15:06. > :15:13.sure they have got their guards in place. One centimetre is the height

:15:14. > :15:17.difference, both men six foot three but he will stand tallest at the

:15:18. > :15:22.end? Lopez in blue, Lutalo Muhammad, the big man in red, trying to flick

:15:23. > :15:27.forward, a brisket, good counter, turning kick from Lopez. This one

:15:28. > :15:31.already an start. And of course, the age difference, 12 years the senior,

:15:32. > :15:45.the 37-year-old Lopez. A fifth Olympic Games, that's

:15:46. > :15:50.remarkable, it really is, and he didn't do well in London so he will

:15:51. > :15:54.want to put it right here. And a fifth Olympic Games in a combat

:15:55. > :15:59.sport as well. It's not just coming to an Olympic Games, it's the four

:16:00. > :16:04.years you have to prepare for it. It was a long and arduous cycle for

:16:05. > :16:08.Lopez, usually so dominant but coming back through those injuries

:16:09. > :16:14.that you mentioned it has taken him time to find his feet, almost finds

:16:15. > :16:19.a foot into the body protector. Muhammad himself doing well to come

:16:20. > :16:26.back from an injury and establishes form. A little bit of judo there. A

:16:27. > :16:32.tiny bit, it did look like that. It's the first Kyong-go to Muhammad,

:16:33. > :16:40.controversially. You are the best in the world is the advice there from

:16:41. > :16:44.the coach in Spanish. They've decided to coach in Spanish against

:16:45. > :16:48.an English speaking opponent. It's interesting because the coach said,

:16:49. > :16:54.you are here to win, didn't he? Obviously he wants that to beat, if

:16:55. > :17:02.it is last Olympic Games, is he going to try for 41? You never know!

:17:03. > :17:09.41 wouldn't be a reach, just 41 seconds left, as Muhammad goes down

:17:10. > :17:15.again. That Kyong-go, how important could it be? You looks calm, he

:17:16. > :17:19.hasn't got out of first gear yet. He's taking his time, a very good

:17:20. > :17:25.athlete, great presence. When he lets legs go, he causes lots of

:17:26. > :17:28.problems for all its opponents. At the moment it's the American who

:17:29. > :17:34.takes the Kyong-go therefore pulling. A tight match, this? It is

:17:35. > :17:39.tight, isn't it? It all depends on range and we have talked about that

:17:40. > :17:45.before, and how quickly. A reverse turning kick, that would have been a

:17:46. > :17:52.four point shot, excellent, that, Lutalo Mohammed away to the threat,

:17:53. > :17:56.cover that nicely. There's a front leg of his own and it schools

:17:57. > :18:00.perfectly. It's a tale of two head kicks and it's a tale that is better

:18:01. > :18:04.for Lutalo Mohammed. Ten seconds left here. Almost took a reverse

:18:05. > :18:08.turning kick and there's a Kyong-go. That's going to be a 3-point gap.

:18:09. > :18:14.From being three down, there is now three points up, Lutalo Muhammad,

:18:15. > :18:18.excellent recovery guide, it shows you how quickly things change. It

:18:19. > :18:19.does, he just found the range and that's what he needed to make

:18:20. > :18:33.contact with the head. A little bit of more than hope than

:18:34. > :18:38.expectation there, but that to me initially looked like a push rather

:18:39. > :18:43.than a straight shot but a straight shot here well blocked, look at the

:18:44. > :18:48.cover there, so important to have your wits about you. I was going to

:18:49. > :18:52.ask actually about the blocking, it happens so quickly but you could see

:18:53. > :18:56.the hands coming up just to stop that making contacts. The converse,

:18:57. > :19:01.the other hand is just missing. Millimetres will decide this one. On

:19:02. > :19:10.the scoreboard it's looking good for Lutalo Muhammad. He tries to get the

:19:11. > :19:14.crowd up, this is his style. Yes, he's loving it, isn't he,

:19:15. > :19:18.absolutely, he's loving the whole occasion, the whole of the Olympic

:19:19. > :19:26.movement. He loves it. Plenty of movement from Muhammad, but the

:19:27. > :19:31.scoreboard tells the story, a 3-point gap. A counter from the Brit

:19:32. > :19:36.in red, well blocked by Lopez. An aggressive start here, going for the

:19:37. > :19:46.chop kick. Straight off the buzzer there. Lopez not wasting any time.

:19:47. > :19:55.The American fans trying to give birth charge some confidence here --

:19:56. > :20:02.trying to give their charge some confidence. Lutalo looking confident

:20:03. > :20:06.here. Its change of pace that Lopez hasn't got now, he's probably lost a

:20:07. > :20:10.bit of his speed and been beaten to the punch, I was going to say, but I

:20:11. > :20:16.mean that metaphorically of course. Muhammad doing a good job.

:20:17. > :20:20.Absolutely correct, as you say. The tempo just slowing down a little

:20:21. > :20:24.bit, which might suit the American but Muhammad very patient, that's

:20:25. > :20:29.his style. One minute left in the second tier and it's as we were on

:20:30. > :20:33.the scoreboard. A good threat there from Lutalo Muhammad, tries to go

:20:34. > :20:40.high. That's the second time, isn't it? This time the referee from our

:20:41. > :20:45.perspective, gets it right. It was a bit of a hip toss on the way round

:20:46. > :20:52.so the Kyong-go going against Lopez. Tries with a chop kick, well covered

:20:53. > :20:56.from Lutalo Muhammad. A punch from the American. As we have talked

:20:57. > :21:01.about it is important not to go on the defensive straightaway. No, you

:21:02. > :21:05.can't. Actually, friends much better, just to keep it going

:21:06. > :21:13.actually, if that is what has been scoring for you -- offence. We saw

:21:14. > :21:14.them lose crucial matches yesterday in the last round by backing off,

:21:15. > :21:30.and that was almost to the head. I think we're going to have a bit of

:21:31. > :21:38.a technical issue here. Strange noise emitting from the scoreboard.

:21:39. > :21:41.18 seconds left in a second, a 3-point gap, let's wait and see.

:21:42. > :21:46.This is not the first time there have been technological delays here.

:21:47. > :21:51.In the middle of a fight, that's not what you need. What could that be?

:21:52. > :21:54.Some technical problem here as we look at the timekeepers, they've got

:21:55. > :21:59.it sorted a game. Not good enough though, not at the Olympic Games. It

:22:00. > :22:06.has to be rectified, has to be improved. Ten seconds left in the

:22:07. > :22:10.second. A 3-point gap maintained by Lutalo Muhammad, despite the delay a

:22:11. > :22:13.brilliant block again from Muhammad and his concentration has been

:22:14. > :22:23.absolutely resolute here. Covers again. Almost takes a back kick but

:22:24. > :22:28.great credit, Lutalo Muhammad taking his time and maintaining that lead.

:22:29. > :22:33.I love the way that he readjusts his distance all the time. It's all

:22:34. > :22:35.about balance and distance, isn't it? He's just using his hands as

:22:36. > :22:52.well as great defence. Well it was a tale of attack in the

:22:53. > :22:56.first round, but the defence has helped him to maintain that at the

:22:57. > :23:00.moment, the concentration as well from the British fighter in red.

:23:01. > :23:07.It's been absolutely perfect. He's going to have to stay on his game,

:23:08. > :23:08.double Olympic champion, five-time world champion, Steven Lopez a real

:23:09. > :23:19.threat even still. Stephen Jennings with great coaching

:23:20. > :23:26.advice there, aware that the clinch will lead to the chop kick. The

:23:27. > :23:31.men's minus 80 kilograms to quarterfinal, this is their third

:23:32. > :23:36.round, the British fighter as you can see, a handy little lead, a

:23:37. > :23:41.Kyong-go hanging against the American, who changes stance. The

:23:42. > :23:46.American Lopez, so experienced, just trying to fake and intimidate. He

:23:47. > :23:50.will have to go some as Lutalo Muhammad very cool as we have seen,

:23:51. > :23:55.great concentration. You have said so many times that just trying to

:23:56. > :23:58.draw them in, with the changing of stands all the time, trying to get

:23:59. > :24:10.them in the right situation, the right positions in order to get a

:24:11. > :24:14.kick in there to score -- stance. It's like fishing, trying to draw

:24:15. > :24:21.your opponent in. You can see the distance between the two, Lutalo

:24:22. > :24:26.Muhammad trying to get front leg to intimidate. He will have to get a

:24:27. > :24:31.run on here, the American, Steven Lopez in blue. Great defence there

:24:32. > :24:35.from Muhammad. Just signs of slight fatigue from the bridge, not much

:24:36. > :24:41.snap in that shot. Better with that one. He has gone on the defence now,

:24:42. > :24:50.he is letting Lopez come forward and they are trying to pick him off.

:24:51. > :24:57.This one for a spot in the Olympic Games semifinal. An excellent little

:24:58. > :25:04.push kick, just jamming it under the garb that of the American, with 40

:25:05. > :25:09.seconds left out. It's a four point gain. I good kick from Lutalo

:25:10. > :25:14.Muhammad, that's the athleticism and that puts him into a fantastic

:25:15. > :25:19.position with 30 seconds left in the third. The chop kick goes high and

:25:20. > :25:25.comes down, makes contact with the head, either the guard or the face

:25:26. > :25:30.and gets big points. A comfortable lead. Big points and a big

:25:31. > :25:36.opportunity but sneaking one in under the guard there, Steven Lopez,

:25:37. > :25:40.it's a 9-2 deficit at the moment. Double Olympic champion, five times

:25:41. > :25:45.world champion, can he do something here? Or will it be Lutalo Muhammad,

:25:46. > :25:49.the Great Britain fighter? He has been composed, he has been

:25:50. > :25:55.organised, his confidence is up, and he has the number of the American

:25:56. > :25:58.here. Olympic bronze-medallist in his home Games in London, excellent

:25:59. > :26:03.movement there, slides around the side, avoids the back kick off

:26:04. > :26:07.Lopez, and it's been all Lutalo Muhammad all the way through. Can he

:26:08. > :26:13.maintained his concentration? Five seconds left in the third. A perfect

:26:14. > :26:17.performance Lutalo Muhammad macro, finishes with a head shot. Olympic

:26:18. > :26:22.Games semifinalist from Great Britain.

:26:23. > :26:30.Lutalo Muhammad takes the salute of the crowd, richly deserved, what a

:26:31. > :26:36.game plan and executioner. Yes, it was a game plan, wasn't it? You knew

:26:37. > :26:42.exactly what he had to do and he was waiting. Lopez, you have got to say,

:26:43. > :26:45.was a tall order. You look at when he won World Championships, Olympic

:26:46. > :26:52.Games, it was 37 years of age, did very, very well but it wasn't good

:26:53. > :26:56.enough against Muhammad. It was indeed a perfect performance for

:26:57. > :27:05.Lutalo Muhammad macro, there was the chop kick you mentioned, that

:27:06. > :27:11.3-point ceiling the deal. It was a superb effort from the British

:27:12. > :27:28.fighter in red. A chance to go one step further.

:27:29. > :27:34.Really impressive performance from Lutalo Muhamed and as we are hearing

:27:35. > :27:37.from our commentary team, stay panel -- Steven Lopez, real pedigree in

:27:38. > :27:44.the taekwondo, twice gold-medallist, a bronze-medallist eight years ago.

:27:45. > :27:50.But Lutalo Muhammad, we saw him stroll into the arena with that big

:27:51. > :27:55.smile on his face and look at him, he's confident, he goes into the

:27:56. > :28:00.semifinal, which we will show you on BBC Four at about 9:15pm tonight, so

:28:01. > :28:02.if you would like to see if he can make it into the gold medal match,

:28:03. > :28:08.which would be one better staged than he did in London four years ago

:28:09. > :28:12.when he won the bronze medal, and there was all that talk four years

:28:13. > :28:18.ago about him being selected ahead of Aaron Cook, Cook went to

:28:19. > :28:22.represent the Isle of Wight and then switched to representing Moldova,

:28:23. > :28:27.well, it didn't end well for Cook in Rio, he is out, he lost his first

:28:28. > :28:31.bout. He will not have his dream of fighting Lutalo Muhammad at some

:28:32. > :28:35.stage in this competition. This is the reader where Jade Jones did

:28:36. > :28:40.things, did the business once again last night to win gold, just as she

:28:41. > :28:45.did four years ago -- this is the arena. We are going to wait to see

:28:46. > :28:50.if we can hear from Lutalo Muhammad, or if we need to go back to BMX. He

:28:51. > :28:54.looks to be buzzing, really enjoying himself at taekwondo. A reminder

:28:55. > :28:59.gain, 9:15pm tonight is the semifinal on BBC Four. We can nail

:29:00. > :29:04.-- we can now hear from him, let's go to Nick and hopefully he is

:29:05. > :29:09.chatting to Mr Muhammad. In fact, he's walked away! Oh, we thought we

:29:10. > :29:13.had him! Where has he gone? He's gone for another interview. We will

:29:14. > :29:18.come back to Lutalo Muhammad, we may have to wait a while. While we wait

:29:19. > :29:22.for him, let's hear from Jill Douglas because we are going to show

:29:23. > :29:27.you the men's gold-medal macro rate in the BMX, but we saw the women's

:29:28. > :29:31.race about 15 minutes ago. The miraculous performance from Mariana

:29:32. > :29:34.Pajon, the Colombian, so much home support, Colombian flags macro all

:29:35. > :29:41.over the place and afterwards she spoke to Jill Douglas.

:29:42. > :29:45.Mariana, a quick word, special moments here, celebrating with your

:29:46. > :29:48.boyfriend and coaching team and the wonderful fans who have come here.

:29:49. > :29:53.Double Olympic champion. I don't believe it, I just heard that, it's

:29:54. > :29:58.amazing, I really wanted this one also. I prepared so hard, I worked

:29:59. > :30:02.really hard and I'm here, it's unbelievable. It's like I already

:30:03. > :30:07.did in my mind so many times. I wanted to do it in reality. I am

:30:08. > :30:11.stuck. You looked unbeatable out there today but I'm sure a lot of

:30:12. > :30:15.hard work has gone into delivering a performance like this? 100%, I was

:30:16. > :30:20.working really hard. I've been injured almost all year. The last

:30:21. > :30:24.three months, like 100, so I was already for this one, I was ready,

:30:25. > :30:26.working really hard and I really wanted this one. Celebrate, thank

:30:27. > :30:36.you thank you very much. A delighted Mariana Pajon begin to

:30:37. > :30:40.Jill Douglas. She won that so let's find out who is going to win the

:30:41. > :30:46.men's version. Let's rejoin Simon Brotherton and Sir Chris Hoy.

:30:47. > :30:53.COMMENTATOR: Away they go in the Olympic final and leading on the

:30:54. > :30:56.inside, Sam Willoughby, good start made by Connor Fields, roundabouts

:30:57. > :31:02.corner and Willoughby has lost his way found himself at the back of the

:31:03. > :31:05.field. It is a one-two for the USA at the moment. Nicholas Long leads

:31:06. > :31:14.the way and Connor Fields is in second place. USA one and two, Niek

:31:15. > :31:16.Kimmann challenging for the bronze medal and Willoughby coming

:31:17. > :31:20.Backstrom on the inside, trying to snatch a medal, towards the line, it

:31:21. > :31:26.is going to go to the USA! And Connor Fields is the Olympic

:31:27. > :31:31.champion! Next, Jelle van Gorkom and Nicholas Long grabs the bronze for

:31:32. > :31:35.the Americans. They are victorious and Connor Fields, who went into the

:31:36. > :31:40.Olympic final four years ago as the favourite but ended up in seventh

:31:41. > :31:46.place, delivered in the biggest race of his life. Wow, fantastic first

:31:47. > :31:53.straight from Connor Fields! Both Americans right up there. Nick Long

:31:54. > :31:57.looks as though, as he is great... Finishing in third place at the

:31:58. > :32:02.moment perhaps, we're not sure but the Americans are going absolutely

:32:03. > :32:07.wild down there. There is Nick Long, celebrating his ride. They are

:32:08. > :32:11.saying it is equal third between him and Ramirez at the moment, both

:32:12. > :32:15.given the exact same time. That is the winner, the Olympic champion. A

:32:16. > :32:22.few years ago, when he was younger, Connor Fields wrote on his parents'

:32:23. > :32:27.garage wall, "One day I will be national and world champion", and he

:32:28. > :32:31.added, "I will be Olympic champion". His parents left it and it is still

:32:32. > :32:36.on the wall of their garaged. Excellent, look at the faces, the

:32:37. > :32:41.elation, amazing for USA, a gold, a bronze and silver from the women's

:32:42. > :32:47.race, clean sweep, fantastic. Carlos Ramirez of Columbia, there. He has

:32:48. > :32:51.been given equal third place at the moment with Nick Long. Unless they

:32:52. > :32:55.separate them and it does not look as if they will, there will be two

:32:56. > :33:04.bronze medal handed out. They cannot separate them, 35.5 06. Amazing, do

:33:05. > :33:08.the same thousandth of a second. There's Jamie staff on the right,

:33:09. > :33:12.coming into your screen. The motion, the hard work, all of the crashes,

:33:13. > :33:17.and there is Jamie, he's been Olympic champion, he knows what it

:33:18. > :33:20.feels like. All the effort and all the pain, actually, not just the

:33:21. > :33:24.effort by the physical pain of getting bashed up as BMX riders

:33:25. > :33:28.often do. Crashing is part of the game and Connor Fields, he was so

:33:29. > :33:31.disappointed in London four years ago, he sailed through the

:33:32. > :33:34.quarterfinals and semifinals, won both, everyone thought he had a

:33:35. > :33:37.great chance of becoming Olympic champion but it all went wrong in

:33:38. > :33:43.the final and he ended up in seventh place but for years on, that is a

:33:44. > :33:46.big smile. For Connor Fields, he is racing with a severely damaged

:33:47. > :33:49.wrist. He's got a wrist support and I was chatting to him yesterday and

:33:50. > :33:54.he said technically still broken and he's going to have an operation

:33:55. > :33:57.after the Bicske try to fix it. What about the Australians? They looked

:33:58. > :34:02.so good but Sam Willoughby ended sixth and Anthony Dean did not

:34:03. > :34:06.finish. Willoughby not used to where he is -- not where he's used to

:34:07. > :34:09.being, in control of the fund. The Americans in control at the front,

:34:10. > :34:14.Nick Long at this stage. The first time we have seen the Americans at

:34:15. > :34:17.the front. Yes, and what you do, you can control the race and if you get

:34:18. > :34:22.stuck in a pack, anything can happen at any stage. I don't just be in the

:34:23. > :34:27.Olympic final but any of the races. That seems to be the thing to to

:34:28. > :34:29.write -- to try to get through to the final with minimal drama and

:34:30. > :34:33.then unleash the one performance that really counts and that is what

:34:34. > :34:37.Connor Fields did. Knew was not really under any pressure as he

:34:38. > :34:43.approached the line. It was so close for bronze. It looks as though... It

:34:44. > :34:48.looks as though the Colombian has got that. It looks to me as though

:34:49. > :34:53.the Colombian has got be medal ahead of the American. Yes, it looked as

:34:54. > :34:56.though they would awarded joint bronze medal but clearly from that

:34:57. > :35:03.photo finish, there is the width of a tie between the two of them. We

:35:04. > :35:07.will wait to see the judges decision on that but it looks as though

:35:08. > :35:13.Carlos Ramirez got his front tyre just in front and take the bronze.

:35:14. > :35:15.The crowd like that, gold in the women's race and bronze in the men's

:35:16. > :35:25.race for Columbia. Many congratulations, I know you

:35:26. > :35:29.have been dreaming about this day for a very long time but now you are

:35:30. > :35:35.the Olympic champion, tell me how it feels. Can you say that one more

:35:36. > :35:38.time? You are the Olympic champion. I can't believe it, to be honest, I

:35:39. > :35:42.came across the finish line in the last five minutes I've been purely

:35:43. > :35:46.in shock. It feels so good. I can't wait to get back to my support

:35:47. > :35:58.system back home, my family and friends. Celebrate with them. That

:35:59. > :36:01.was a champion's performance. You looked in such great form all week.

:36:02. > :36:01.Thanks, you know, I knew what this race

:36:02. > :36:05.was all about, getting into the final and making it happen. Once I

:36:06. > :36:09.got into the final, it was time to throw the dice on the table and go

:36:10. > :36:13.for it. Congratulations, well done. That was an exhausted gold

:36:14. > :36:16.medallist. Fantastic crowd at the BMX, particularly today but

:36:17. > :36:19.throughout the event. Jill Douglas is still down there with a man we

:36:20. > :36:22.know would have loved to have been on the podium for this Olympic final

:36:23. > :36:29.but sadly got injured yesterday but is alongside us this afternoon with

:36:30. > :36:32.Sir Chris Hoy as well. What a day. Indeed, Dan, it has been an

:36:33. > :36:36.emotional day, the Colombian fans are still chancing across on the

:36:37. > :36:40.other side and of course the Americans are celebrating Connor

:36:41. > :36:43.Fields' tremendous performance. As you said, disappointment for Liam

:36:44. > :36:46.Phillips not to be involved but wonderful to see the reaction from

:36:47. > :36:51.all the riders coming through, coming up and asking Lee how he was.

:36:52. > :36:56.Mariana Pajon won her Olympic race, the gold medal and the best thing

:36:57. > :37:01.she said to Liam Watts, "How are you?" Gives UNIDO of what she's like

:37:02. > :37:05.as an individual. I've calmed down a bit now. She is such a deserving

:37:06. > :37:08.winner. She's been so good in the World Cup series and the World

:37:09. > :37:13.Championships, and to win in front of pretty much a Colombian crowd, it

:37:14. > :37:17.doesn't get any better. It's been a great day for BMX. And Connor

:37:18. > :37:21.Fields, tremendous performance from him, he's part of the setup that is

:37:22. > :37:27.run by Jamie Staff, your old team-mate from the team sprint.

:37:28. > :37:29.Jamie was one of the Busby but to congratulate him, he knows what it

:37:30. > :37:33.feels like to win Olympic gold but he was a worthy winner. Sam

:37:34. > :37:36.Willoughby was the favourite going into the final, had been consistent

:37:37. > :37:40.all series but it's all about that one ride, and Connor Fields produced

:37:41. > :37:45.a fantastic start and was in contention and then passed him on

:37:46. > :37:49.the third straight. You see what it meant to him Ajirotutu swore when he

:37:50. > :37:52.was a kid that he would be Olympic champion one day and his parents

:37:53. > :37:58.never painted over it so I wonder if they will now? You never know. I

:37:59. > :38:02.doubt it very much and his dad is British? Yes, there was some talk

:38:03. > :38:06.prior to London for him to come and ride for Team GB. My conversations

:38:07. > :38:09.with him, basically, he did not feel like he could win a race like this

:38:10. > :38:14.and then come and be interviewed and talk with an American accent.

:38:15. > :38:18.Obviously, today has been a great day for him, his first race back

:38:19. > :38:21.from injury after his wrist injury. He has not raced at all this season

:38:22. > :38:25.so it makes it even more remarkable to come and do a sport like this

:38:26. > :38:28.which is so tactical, so much going on, to be able to step up and

:38:29. > :38:32.deliver like that is pretty impressive. What a time to bring

:38:33. > :38:35.your best game. That's what it's all about, like all sports, it's about

:38:36. > :38:47.dealing with pressure, focusing, forgetting anything that has come in

:38:48. > :38:50.the lead up to it. He's had highs and lows and injuries, as Liam says

:38:51. > :38:52.and all of these guys have got injuries. They are bolted together

:38:53. > :38:55.to get to the start line. It is all credit to them that they keep

:38:56. > :38:57.bouncing back and the training that goes through it. These athletes are

:38:58. > :39:00.track sprinters at the velodrome with extra skill and nerve and all

:39:01. > :39:04.of these added quality to make them into world-class BMX riders, they

:39:05. > :39:07.are producing the same times as the track sprinters and sometimes they

:39:08. > :39:11.don't get the credit due. BMX is a serious sport, as we have seen,

:39:12. > :39:14.great spectacle and this was a great advert for the sport. You can see

:39:15. > :39:22.what it means to everyone here, what a fantastic event it has been. It

:39:23. > :39:25.has indeed, Liam, it's not ended the way you would have hoped but as we

:39:26. > :39:28.have seen with Connor Fields, he was disappointed in London and he came

:39:29. > :39:31.back four years later to win a gold medal. So the question is, I know

:39:32. > :39:34.you are going to have a bit of a break but are you going to come to

:39:35. > :39:37.Tokyo? Right now, I would love to because I know that if I had raced

:39:38. > :39:41.here today and been successful, I probably would have said that it was

:39:42. > :39:44.my Olympic time done but the fact it hasn't happened, you know, I've got

:39:45. > :39:50.such a strong desire to be Olympic champion. Yeah, it won't be long

:39:51. > :39:53.before I'm back training, I'm sure! It is something I have yet to

:39:54. > :39:58.achieve. Training with somebody like this for so long, you see what can

:39:59. > :40:04.be achieved with hard work and dedication. I would be a fool to

:40:05. > :40:08.turn my back on it. Absolutely. We wish you all the best and hopefully

:40:09. > :40:11.the next time, you are on the other side of the fence and not with me!

:40:12. > :40:17.Thank you for joining us. Back to you.

:40:18. > :40:21.Thank you, Jill, Liam and Sir Chris. We will take a breath now. Lovely to

:40:22. > :40:25.be with you on BBC Four at Copacabana, the win has picked up,

:40:26. > :40:31.as you concede and a lovely day here in Rio. 27 degrees but the old

:40:32. > :40:35.breeze is bringing it down a bit. We will do our normal stuff through the

:40:36. > :40:39.evening. We will answer some of your questions and we would love to get

:40:40. > :40:49.your tweets and that kind of thing as usual. We have even had a visit

:40:50. > :40:53.from the Copacabatman as well. Nice to see you, thanks for popping by,

:40:54. > :40:57.congratulations on your gold medals, by the way. We can't hear you at the

:40:58. > :41:03.moment but we will come and have a chat maybe later. Thanks for asking.

:41:04. > :41:07.Anyway, let's carry on with the rest of the day's sport because in terms

:41:08. > :41:11.of what has happened today, Joe Joyce has made it through to the

:41:12. > :41:16.gold medal match, that has been on BBC One in the last half an hour or

:41:17. > :41:20.so, in the boxing. Also, a gold medal for Nick Skelton in individual

:41:21. > :41:24.show-jumping, amazing story for him, in 2000, he retired with a broken

:41:25. > :41:28.neck, in 2011, he had a hip replacement and in 2016, he has won

:41:29. > :41:33.Olympic gold, a remarkable story forward next -- Nick Skelton and yet

:41:34. > :41:37.another gold for Team GB. Will Lutalo Muhammad add another medal?

:41:38. > :41:41.He's certainly in the bronze medal match and he's going to try to get

:41:42. > :41:46.into the gold medal match at 9:15pm in the UK. After his quarterfinal

:41:47. > :41:52.win over Steven Lopez of America, he managed to grab a very brief chat

:41:53. > :41:56.with Nick Pope. Enjoying it? Loving it, loving it,

:41:57. > :42:02.crowd is great energy is magnificent, let's keep going. I

:42:03. > :42:09.told you it was brief! About four seconds and a punch to the camera

:42:10. > :42:13.and he is gone. Huge demand from you to see the Copacabatman so would you

:42:14. > :42:17.like to see the cheese cabal? He was here about half an hour ago. I'm

:42:18. > :42:21.afraid you have deleted hot. I had a bite and the rest of the crew

:42:22. > :42:29.finished it off but it has now gone. -- cheese kitbag. How much did it

:42:30. > :42:34.cost? Six real, a bargain, about ?1 40, more than a coconut which is

:42:35. > :42:37.about five. Normally they are about two but with the tourists turn up

:42:38. > :42:43.for the World Cup and the Olympics, they bump up the prizes like

:42:44. > :42:46.everyone, understandable. Look at that, a travel barbecue. Let's show

:42:47. > :42:47.you the timetable for what is going to be happening in the next few

:42:48. > :43:38.hours. We shall also be bringing you some

:43:39. > :43:42.very carefully selected sites and sounds from the beach. The whole

:43:43. > :43:48.team are keeping a very careful eye on what is going on behind us. If

:43:49. > :43:51.you spot anything, let us know. We have been out there already,

:43:52. > :43:56.checking, making sure and hopefully we won't have a repeat of that

:43:57. > :44:01.reading incident of yesterday, which has gone down so well. Shall we have

:44:02. > :44:06.some basketball? I think it's time we did. Let's go to the Carioca

:44:07. > :44:10.arena because this is the American dream team that have not lost a

:44:11. > :44:13.match since the Athens games in 2004, they have looked rusty in

:44:14. > :44:17.their qualifying matches, some of them, and Spain have a number of top

:44:18. > :44:21.NBA players as well. We will show you the second semifinal between

:44:22. > :44:24.Australia and Serbia later but first, it is Spain against the USA

:44:25. > :44:30.and we are going to join it in the first quarter and our commentators

:44:31. > :44:51.are -- commentator is Mike Castle. COMMENTATOR: Hopeful Spain. Having a

:44:52. > :45:02.little bit of trouble from that line. Zero from two so far, direct

:45:03. > :45:06.has missed one. -- Kevin Durant. Lots of talking going on on the

:45:07. > :45:10.floor at the moment. Of course, the two sets of players know each other

:45:11. > :45:13.so well, not only meeting in international basketball but in the

:45:14. > :45:22.NBA. Anthony finally getting a free throw. 17-11, 13 -- three minutes

:45:23. > :45:26.and 13 seconds remaining. Anthony comes to the bench and coming in is

:45:27. > :45:32.Jimmy Butler, has not seen much time, a swing forward, a guard

:45:33. > :45:40.forward from the Chicago Bulls. Pau Gasol, one-on-one with Cousins.

:45:41. > :45:47.I think Pau Gasol was waiting for it. It is coming and there it is,

:45:48. > :45:54.the foul to go... What Cousins need to learn is that kind of, "What,

:45:55. > :45:57.me?" Look, a shrug of the shoulders. The more obvious the foul, the more

:45:58. > :46:01.important it is to pretend you never did anything. Rod trying to make it

:46:02. > :46:07.a four point game and that would be really encouraging. US already in a

:46:08. > :46:09.penalty situation as is Spain. You can see the light on the scoring

:46:10. > :46:21.tables are both lit. It's been averaging 54% from the fan

:46:22. > :46:26.line but he had a couple of bad games but he's still getting 17

:46:27. > :46:30.points a game and he is so important to the game. If he fires, they have

:46:31. > :46:37.a chance. He had nine in the first quarter, that's been the game plan

:46:38. > :46:46.so far. I drive with the little reverse lay-off, Paul George, that's

:46:47. > :46:54.lovely. 19-13. Sergi Roberto -- Sergio Rodriguez. Dribbling around.

:46:55. > :47:02.Gasol tries to get it inside to Reyes. But it is Butler who knocked

:47:03. > :47:08.it away. It is Cousins who comes down and gives the ball back outside

:47:09. > :47:13.to Kyle Lowry. Lowry driving through the digs, kicks it back outside to

:47:14. > :47:17.Paul George. George has it knocked away by Rodriguez, the US will keep

:47:18. > :47:21.possession but there's only six on the shot clock and we saw Durant

:47:22. > :47:27.lurking on the outside on the other side of the court. Well Lowry takes

:47:28. > :47:32.it to the Hoop himself, gets his own rebound and lays it in with the left

:47:33. > :47:36.hand. We don't see quite enough of players following their own shots.

:47:37. > :47:42.Even at this level, it's not a lost art but it's one a lot of people

:47:43. > :47:47.stand and watch the shots. They were watching the ball come off in Spain,

:47:48. > :47:53.because they didn't push for the re-pound, to deny the USA a second

:47:54. > :47:57.look. Rodriguez nearly lost that to Jimmy Butler. Rodriguez for three,

:47:58. > :48:02.doesn't hit. Durant with the rebound and he will bring it down himself.

:48:03. > :48:06.Lowry right into the corner with George, George wants to drive, stops

:48:07. > :48:10.and takes the fade away, hits the back of the ring and bounces out and

:48:11. > :48:18.Rodriguez comes down for Spain now, 1.15 to play, Rodriguez behind the

:48:19. > :48:22.back to Gasol 43. Beautiful stuff, wonderful stuff, he took a couple of

:48:23. > :48:30.steps in, Drew the defence back, wide open for the set shot, 21-16.

:48:31. > :48:33.That was the best part of the game for Spain, they need to improve but

:48:34. > :48:38.at least that was encouraging from Gasol. They have another turnover

:48:39. > :48:43.here. Carmela was looking to see if there would be a foul, he took the

:48:44. > :48:48.two and shot an airball but that long three is off from Spain, we

:48:49. > :48:53.come back down to Durant and he has Rudy on him, he's shoots over Rudy,

:48:54. > :48:59.and Cousins crashes the boards and lays it in softly, 23-16, 30 seconds

:49:00. > :49:03.to go. They are dominating the boards at the moment, you the United

:49:04. > :49:06.States, that's making a difference for them, getting chances at the

:49:07. > :49:15.basket and making sure the second one goes in at least.

:49:16. > :49:24.Durant, has he called for the blocking foul with his hands? It was

:49:25. > :49:27.Durant's shot off the rim but look at Cousins, saw the path through to

:49:28. > :49:36.the basket, no one boxed him out and that is Gasol's three. How many big

:49:37. > :49:40.names like him, shoot from outside? Durant is looking for a replay,

:49:41. > :49:43.which I don't think they've put a replay upon the board, he's getting

:49:44. > :49:50.frustrated. He wants to see exactly what it was he did wrong. But that

:49:51. > :49:54.sends Felipe Reyes to the foul line. He's another one who is 36 years

:49:55. > :50:00.old, he's played for real Madrid since 2004. That's consistency. He's

:50:01. > :50:07.twice been the Spanish league's MVP, he did that, six years apart. They

:50:08. > :50:13.look after their players, Real Madrid. He misses the second, he's a

:50:14. > :50:19.valuable player, your prototypes hard-working big man. Makes the most

:50:20. > :50:30.of his talent. Lowry, from three. He heads. 26-17. -- he hits. Rodriguez,

:50:31. > :50:34.three quarters of the court, from the Copacabana, and he misses the

:50:35. > :50:38.shot and the 3-point shot at the end gives the US probably a slightly

:50:39. > :50:41.bigger lead than you might expect. Kevin Durant still wants to know

:50:42. > :50:48.what it was he did to commit the foul. He is trying to demonstrate,

:50:49. > :50:54.come on, I think that's Mr Ray from Mexico. The score at the end of one

:50:55. > :50:58.quarter, take a look at the stats. I think the 3-pointers and the rebound

:50:59. > :51:01.is what the United States are really dominating in and that's what has

:51:02. > :51:11.given them the 9-point lead after the first quarter. Remember, it's a

:51:12. > :51:29.closer 3-point circle than they used to in the NBA.

:51:30. > :51:34.STUDIO: We shall be back shortly. We are

:51:35. > :51:38.down here on Copacabana Beach, thank you for the messages and questions

:51:39. > :51:41.and queries and texts and tweets we've been receiving already

:51:42. > :51:45.tonight. I'm not going to go through them all yet, we're here until 2am,

:51:46. > :51:49.we have plenty of time to read all those but some interesting questions

:51:50. > :51:54.nonetheless, which I'll maybe ask some of the BBC for teams that are

:51:55. > :51:58.situated down here. Let's show you some of the headlines from today,

:51:59. > :52:02.from a Team GB perspective because Nick Skelton has had a really

:52:03. > :52:06.impressive day in the individual show-jumping. It came down to an

:52:07. > :52:12.incredibly tight gold medal decision, a six way jump off, but

:52:13. > :52:17.Skelton was the man who came out on top. He pops his gold medal out of

:52:18. > :52:23.his jacket, over on the Red Button for you at the moment is the last

:52:24. > :52:28.stages of the women's dolls, from Baja Bostock Charley Hull, last time

:52:29. > :52:34.we saw her, was eight under par, we've had a hole in one today, nine

:52:35. > :52:38.of the top ten golfers are taking part in this. Charley Hull has

:52:39. > :52:42.dropped a couple of shots unfortunately, now at six under par,

:52:43. > :52:46.the final round tomorrow. She's still in contention, four shots off

:52:47. > :52:50.the lead, so if you would like to see the conclusion of the women's

:52:51. > :52:54.golf, it's over on the Red Button right now. We are going to pop back

:52:55. > :52:59.to the basketball. We will rejoin the commentators, into the second

:53:00. > :53:10.period, with the USA with a 7-point lead.

:53:11. > :53:20.COMMENTATOR: It's a two pointer if it goes, if it

:53:21. > :53:24.doesn't, the shot clock sets to 14, not to 24, the loose ball coming and

:53:25. > :53:31.Anthony again hits nothing. Anthony for three. Off the front of the

:53:32. > :53:37.game, tied up for the rebound, it comes loose and there will be a

:53:38. > :53:41.foul. It was Lowry on the ground. How hard does Spain have to work to

:53:42. > :53:44.keep the United States from scoring? They've given them a chance after

:53:45. > :53:49.chance. They've got away with it here. But when you have to work so

:53:50. > :53:52.hard, then going down the other end, it must be really tiresome. Both

:53:53. > :53:58.teams looking so desperate as well. Extraordinary stuff there are that

:53:59. > :54:02.one going Spain's way. You saw Hernangomez, it looks worse than it

:54:03. > :54:05.is, Lowry is going for the ball, he's not trying to trip the player

:54:06. > :54:11.or anything like that. isn't it part of the Spain game as well, this is

:54:12. > :54:16.where most of their bench players are on now. There's a technical

:54:17. > :54:21.against Scariolo. There's another one. He's just signalled it twice,

:54:22. > :54:25.you can hear what Scariolo was, it was in English and it was not a

:54:26. > :54:29.polite term to use. He's got to stay cool, he needs to be composed

:54:30. > :54:33.because these players need to stay composed and they can ill afford to

:54:34. > :54:38.give the ball back. Now he's given the ball away and probably a as

:54:39. > :54:41.well. That's from your coach, you cannot afford to have that.

:54:42. > :54:47.Remember, this isn't football. If you slide across, it's not a foul if

:54:48. > :54:51.you don't get the ball, it is foul, it's called a foul, but it's not an

:54:52. > :54:59.unsportsmanlike fouls. Anthony could not, if you give him a hammer right

:55:00. > :55:12.now he could not hit a nail. Is he the best one may have right now? No,

:55:13. > :55:16.that's the crazy thing. He mistimed. Scariolo likes to get away with this

:55:17. > :55:21.without the worst punishment but still, that's not good for Spain, at

:55:22. > :55:29.a point where they needed to stay cool, their bench players are on. ,

:55:30. > :55:35.Low was over four from the floor --, low. That's amazing. He's in the

:55:36. > :55:40.post, the high post, they've got two in the post and the shot misses the

:55:41. > :55:43.game. They got away with it without conceding a point, it's

:55:44. > :55:49.extraordinary. Navarro, trying to find a way past Jimmy Butler, Jimmy

:55:50. > :55:58.Butler knocks the ball away and here comes Lowry, at pace. Cousins coming

:55:59. > :56:09.back up to centre screen, Jimmy Butler. The shot is off here comes

:56:10. > :56:13.Navarro, the team captain and another 36-year-old. Crosscourt to

:56:14. > :56:20.Rodriguez. Lowry was right there. That's going to be a foul on Paul

:56:21. > :56:28.George. Paul George may have just picked up a technical. Yes, it is.

:56:29. > :56:32.It seems he must have said something to the referee. He did say something

:56:33. > :56:36.to the referee, I'm not sure what it is. You might think of it as a

:56:37. > :56:43.make-up call. There, we've seen this one before, the tie-up and then

:56:44. > :56:47.throw yourself out. He tied, Hernangomez in fairness had a grip

:56:48. > :56:53.on Paul George's Amen threw himself out, Paul George complained about it

:56:54. > :56:59.and got fatigues and you want to bet that when Carlos Navarro Womble will

:57:00. > :57:03.not miss the foul. -- Juan-Carlos Navarro will not miss the foul. It

:57:04. > :57:08.seems amazingly put Anthony and the line before will stop Butler has

:57:09. > :57:12.been on the court, shooting 94% from the foul line. I couldn't agree

:57:13. > :57:16.more. Spain have got away with that. Now they have their own technical.

:57:17. > :57:23.In that battle of the technicals they certainly won it. Claver was

:57:24. > :57:28.looking for Rodriguez. He is going to shoot the three. In and out and

:57:29. > :57:32.the rebound by Jordan, who has replaced Cousins. Thompson is back

:57:33. > :57:44.in the game from the US. Durant waiting outside. Thompson drives.

:57:45. > :57:48.The alley up to Jordan, he sticks it through, 28-20. We haven't seen

:57:49. > :57:54.enough of that from the US in this whole tournament. It's really the

:57:55. > :58:01.kind of thing they can do well. Rodriguez's basket is off tip, it

:58:02. > :58:04.goes out. Over to Rodriguez. Hernangomez set the little screen,

:58:05. > :58:12.Rodriguez with a pass, dotted to Hernangomez butty hit the shot off

:58:13. > :58:16.the back and they executed that really well but couldn't finish.

:58:17. > :58:22.That's the problem, you can execute as well as you want, you need to

:58:23. > :58:25.finish it. That's the alley up from Thompson. Reyes not even aware that

:58:26. > :58:34.Jordan has gone inside him on the baseline. The picture of Jordan with

:58:35. > :58:44.the Olympic gymnast, the woman gymnast, who is only 4'6", one of

:58:45. > :58:50.the top Twitter means. That's a two. It's 30-20, three minutes gone in

:58:51. > :58:54.the second quarter and this is the trouble for Spain. Their bench

:58:55. > :59:00.players are on and they need to keep up with the United States and at the

:59:01. > :59:04.moment the US are starting to pull away a little bit. If Thomson keeps

:59:05. > :59:09.hitting those threes, they could really pull away. The problem,

:59:10. > :59:11.Rodriguez knows someone has to shoot, the problem with having

:59:12. > :59:16.Claver and Hernangomez and Reyes is they really don't have the shooters

:59:17. > :59:21.who are explosive or offensive players and that's going to be a

:59:22. > :59:27.foul on Kyrie Irving, as he's wanting to stop Reyes from getting a

:59:28. > :59:31.pass down court. They have Calderon in the team but he doesn't seem to

:59:32. > :59:34.play much at all. Obviously there's a fitness issue with him but at

:59:35. > :59:38.least give him a couple of minutes. These are the three from Thompson.

:59:39. > :59:42.Could this finally be the game where he gets going? It's been

:59:43. > :59:46.extraordinary, the amount he has missed from 3-point range. He's got

:59:47. > :59:52.two out of three in this game. Was it a turn in the end? He did Deb on

:59:53. > :59:57.the line. At least he shot from the corner it will be encouraging for

:59:58. > :00:07.him. If he makes it a two he has... INAUDIBLE

:00:08. > :00:12.The thing I would enjoy as when coach Scariolo tells the team not to

:00:13. > :00:15.lose their tempers. That's the trouble when you do something like

:00:16. > :00:17.that! You can't then tell your players to stay cool. They go, what

:00:18. > :00:40.about you? In this game... In the game where

:00:41. > :00:44.the United States were pushed against Serbia, didn't look this

:00:45. > :00:48.comfortable. Still a long way to go, only ten points and it and the big

:00:49. > :00:57.players come back on and start firing for Spain... That close-up of

:00:58. > :01:02.Anthony and Mirotic, it illustrates how difficult the referee's job is.

:01:03. > :01:05.This is a very physical game, basketball in general, and there is

:01:06. > :01:10.a lot of pushing and shoving. It goes on all the time and the

:01:11. > :01:27.referees have a tough job trying to play and deciding who is giving up.

:01:28. > :01:36.That one goes in and out, still keeping the rebounder life.

:01:37. > :01:45.Rodriguez, really the best shooter out there. In. Used his body to keep

:01:46. > :01:55.away from Jordan. Jordan on the rebound. Stepping back into the

:01:56. > :02:01.corner is Butler and he is in as much red defence as anything else.

:02:02. > :02:06.It is tapped away by Rhodri Ghezzal gets called for the fall. I think it

:02:07. > :02:14.is just for reaching in because every time someone does that, it is

:02:15. > :02:24.a foul. Butler, left Rodriguez alone. The referees do tend to

:02:25. > :02:31.punish it a lot more than they do the grab and bumping up shot and

:02:32. > :02:42.chest. He could have been called for the foul after he took the ball.

:02:43. > :02:52.Thompson fillets three. -- for three.

:02:53. > :03:00.Mirotic is back in the game. Navarro with the floater and it is good.

:03:01. > :03:06.Navarro is playing with such energy right now. He has been here before

:03:07. > :03:10.against the US and he knows what it is going to take. He has got the

:03:11. > :03:15.mismatch with Klay Thompson down on the baseline. Mirotic is going

:03:16. > :03:24.one-on-one with his team-mate Jimmy Butler. Claver on Butler. Tries to

:03:25. > :03:31.put a left-handed shot up and it won't go. Look at Claver hustle,

:03:32. > :03:40.under the basket. Navarro drives in another floater and misses but it is

:03:41. > :03:45.tipped in by Hernangomez. Right now, Spain is outscoring the US in the

:03:46. > :03:55.second quarter. How encouraging is this for Spain? Hernangomez with the

:03:56. > :04:07.rebound. Rodrigues Duque dribbles back and sets up. -- Rodriguez

:04:08. > :04:15.dribbles back. Claver! Just a two but it makes it a four point game.

:04:16. > :04:20.Look at Calderon, he is up and screaming. United States not getting

:04:21. > :04:29.the offensive rebound is. They keep cutting the score down. No movement

:04:30. > :04:44.in the inside. Durant for a long three. Doesn't get it. It will be a

:04:45. > :04:48.fall, Sjekloca on him. Every time you say something, it will be a

:04:49. > :04:54.technical foul. He has called it an Sergio Scariolo, I think it was on

:04:55. > :04:57.Couzins before and now an Durant, that is what you have to be aware of

:04:58. > :05:03.and the way the game is being refereed.

:05:04. > :05:08.United States are getting frustrated Huw. You just have to keep plugging

:05:09. > :05:21.away. Navarro makes another one so he has

:05:22. > :05:33.two points just from technical fouls. Spain will have possession

:05:34. > :05:39.and it is a three point game. The US have decided to take time out and

:05:40. > :05:44.let things cool down. I would love to see a replay of that shot. That

:05:45. > :05:51.was so far off you wouldn't be surprised if he had been fouled. It

:05:52. > :05:57.wasn't the usual Durant shot. Take a drink, cool down, get back into the

:05:58. > :06:06.game. That foul was so bad, it left a handprint on his back. There it

:06:07. > :06:12.is. Hard to tell from that angle. Hernangomez was turned around,

:06:13. > :06:19.facing the other way. These calls are going to happen and you have to

:06:20. > :06:30.get on with it. There is Claver from the corner. Rodrigues Duque look the

:06:31. > :06:35.other way. There is Paul Durant. I wonder why he isn't getting more

:06:36. > :06:43.minutes during the game? I think is a marvellous player. He had a good

:06:44. > :06:50.season for the New York Knicks last year.

:06:51. > :07:00.They didn't have the shooters or the playmakers. I'm sure Sergio Scariolo

:07:01. > :07:09.knows what he's doing. He has got them within three right now with

:07:10. > :07:16.3.36 to play in the first half. Gasol is back in. Into the corner,

:07:17. > :07:22.Fernandez. Gasol working one-on-one with Couzins. The pass went behind

:07:23. > :07:31.and wrote itch was already in the corner.

:07:32. > :07:39.Draymond Green is in for the US now. That is him getting the ball.

:07:40. > :07:52.Thompson, back to Green. Green throws it. Anthony was standing on

:07:53. > :07:57.the baseline. I think that might have been the Mirotic. Someone

:07:58. > :08:02.yelled and it is Mirotic who has been called for a technical. I heard

:08:03. > :08:14.a yell. What did he say? Why would he say anything?

:08:15. > :08:29.They called a foul for a Porsche and we didn't see the referee... They

:08:30. > :08:40.called a foul for pushing Anthony. We have seen more technicals... Not

:08:41. > :08:47.than in any other game because they're -- there was one game when

:08:48. > :08:56.there was an injection of the coach. That is a big loss for Spain.

:08:57. > :09:02.The second best game so far and still a half to go. If Thompson

:09:03. > :09:11.starts firing, this could really spelt trouble for Spain. They're

:09:12. > :09:21.like this one-on-one match up. Gasol versus Cousins. Draymond Green poked

:09:22. > :09:28.it onto the baseline. Spain will keep possession with 2.2 to -- two

:09:29. > :09:40..22 remaining in the half. Reyes will drive. Anthony goes up

:09:41. > :09:49.with the left hand and he misses but he comes up again. Thompson is

:09:50. > :09:52.telling him, stay quiet. Exactly! Cannot afford to react at the

:09:53. > :10:03.moment, there are technicals coming from everywhere. You can see the

:10:04. > :10:08.hand of Reyes there. What about the offensive rebounding from Spain?

:10:09. > :10:15.That was incredible. That is the big change from the first quarter. Spain

:10:16. > :10:23.actually leading this quarter 13-10. The US led by seven at the end of

:10:24. > :10:28.the first quarter. Nine, at the end of the first quarter. I was doing

:10:29. > :10:30.the maths in my head but I was getting some help, holding up nine

:10:31. > :10:58.fingers! Thank you for that. They were four technical fouls in

:10:59. > :11:02.the match between Croatia and Spain. Once the referee gave it to Sergio

:11:03. > :11:16.Scariolo... Once the referee makes a call like

:11:17. > :11:22.that and then he backed it up with another one, he draws a line in the

:11:23. > :11:26.sand and you cannot cross that line. Some players have learned the hard

:11:27. > :11:32.way but hopefully now it stops. That would be the idea. Draymond Green

:11:33. > :11:42.coming back out. Only three points so far for Caerau

:11:43. > :11:48.Evans. The Rodriguez brings it up for

:11:49. > :12:19.Spain. Fernandez can be a deadly shooter.

:12:20. > :12:32.Rodriguez on Irving. Anthony hits the three. 1.20 in the half. The

:12:33. > :12:44.shooters are picking up both there. It has been a chute -fest. -- shoot.

:12:45. > :12:50.That went right past Cousins like he was standing still and Cousins was

:12:51. > :13:04.gesturing to the referee like you had been held. I think we may have

:13:05. > :13:12.some more T action here. A foul called on Reyes row. This seems

:13:13. > :13:20.extraordinary. We will take a look. Cousins and Reyes. It was Reyes

:13:21. > :13:24.hitting the ball when Cousins was going for it. It is technically

:13:25. > :13:35.speaking unsportsmanlike conduct to deny the team the ball. Much as they

:13:36. > :13:36.are applying the letter of the law at the moment. At least in some

:13:37. > :13:45.areas. The rebound to Fernandez. What

:13:46. > :14:02.strength shown by Fernandez. He looks a little more concerned

:14:03. > :14:05.than usual. The coach for the USA never smiles, though. Marcus Couzens

:14:06. > :14:24.has three fouls. Spain has 13 personal fouls. Rotich

:14:25. > :14:29.with four. Durant and Cousins each have three. Durant is out of the

:14:30. > :14:37.game and that is a big loss for the United States.

:14:38. > :14:51.Fernandez has got seven. Reyes comes out. He couldn't allow any more

:14:52. > :14:57.fouls to be conceded. Particularly any more technicals.

:14:58. > :15:13.A 3-point lead for the US. Jimmy Butler steals the rebound, takes

:15:14. > :15:18.Thompson and he hit another three. 45-39, and Klay Thompson's three is

:15:19. > :15:22.the only reason right now that the US has the lead. It's wonderful to

:15:23. > :15:26.see Klay Thompson firing at the Olympic Games. He has struggled for

:15:27. > :15:31.most of it, but it looks like in the semifinal he has come to life.

:15:32. > :15:39.Rodriguez once the last shot. Irving is on him. He spins it round, kicks

:15:40. > :15:45.it back out. There is the opening shot. It doesn't matter, because he

:15:46. > :15:57.didn't drop in. But what an interesting half. The score at the

:15:58. > :16:03.half is United States 45-39 Spain. STUDIO: we shall be back with that

:16:04. > :16:12.for later. Nice and close, that semifinal. An early reminder for you

:16:13. > :16:15.that Lutalo Muhammad of Team GB is into the semifinals in the

:16:16. > :16:21.taekwondo. We will be there at 9:15pm. Around about an hour from

:16:22. > :16:27.here. It is that Tommy went on our -- it is time we went on our first

:16:28. > :16:31.wonder of evening. This is where the circuit training takes place just to

:16:32. > :16:36.my left ear. No sign of it yet, they normally turn up at around 8pm our

:16:37. > :16:42.time. He wasn't yesterday, it was a sad moment for so many. It a public

:16:43. > :16:48.holiday, maybe there was no circuit training. Anthony Walt Thompson,

:16:49. > :16:55.hopefully back tonight. Ten nights training out of 11. The Copocabinmen

:16:56. > :17:06.will be here later on. Normally these are just full of coconuts.

:17:07. > :17:12.Let's go right to the Atlantic. You can see how windy it is. This is

:17:13. > :17:16.where the Brownie brothers were. If you look into the distance you can

:17:17. > :17:19.see exactly where the finish line was and that is where the Brownie

:17:20. > :17:24.Brothers won gold or silver yesterday. You will have seen the

:17:25. > :17:31.swim yesterday. It was incredibly calm out there. Today, the red no

:17:32. > :17:36.swimming flag is up today. People are popping in. We have fishermen as

:17:37. > :17:44.well. I went if he's caught anything in Fisherman's corner. You can see

:17:45. > :17:46.how rough it is and the likes of Non Stanford and Vicky Jenkins will be

:17:47. > :17:52.going in the women's triathlon which takes place tomorrow. Oh, look.

:17:53. > :17:58.Fisherman's corner! Look at the little tiddler. I think of be

:17:59. > :18:02.fishing that we've seen that might be the biggest of the lot. It's

:18:03. > :18:12.still not a whopper. I'm sure as tells his friends, "It'll grow

:18:13. > :18:14.reclamation mark" look at that, the next-generation Fisherman's corner

:18:15. > :18:19.being taught how to do the business with rod. Regarding the triathlon,

:18:20. > :18:23.you can see how rough it is out there at the moment. The conditions

:18:24. > :18:27.are really tough golfers in these conditions. The wind has really

:18:28. > :18:31.blown on day three of the women's tournament. Let's show you the

:18:32. > :18:35.leaderboard. We had high hopes for Charley Hull and she is still in

:18:36. > :18:41.with a shout. About ten miles down the coast from where we are at the

:18:42. > :18:48.golf course. We are at Copacabana. Inbee Park is 12 under par. Leading

:18:49. > :18:51.the way. She is out on the course with Charley Hull who is six shots

:18:52. > :18:57.off the lead. We will pick them up on the 18th. This is Charley 's

:18:58. > :19:05.seven. Let's see how they play this final hole and then we will show you

:19:06. > :19:09.something quite special. Two hole in ones on the golf course today. We

:19:10. > :19:14.will show you after Charley Hull and Inbee Park have finished the final

:19:15. > :19:15.hole of the day. The commentary from this is Aaron Wilkinson Brendon Todd

:19:16. > :19:44.four. COMMENTATOR: good sensible play.

:19:45. > :19:52.Inbee Park has found the sand with her tee shot. Unless she goes... Oh,

:19:53. > :20:06.obviously taking plenty of loft here. The lie is all right, but it

:20:07. > :20:19.is just how much loft she needs to get it out.

:20:20. > :20:35.She's going to be about 260 here. She will be well over 200 metres.

:20:36. > :20:46.In her keenness to get this ball up, she just came into it. Just missed

:20:47. > :20:56.the lip. A lot of sand here. Now Stacy Lewis.

:20:57. > :21:04.What are those birds? We need to find out. We need to find out what

:21:05. > :21:12.they are. Noisy! Stacy Lewis, her second here at the last. Perfect,

:21:13. > :21:29.just heading to the left-hand side of the fairway. That's perfect.

:21:30. > :21:40.A little earlier, this is Marianne Skarpnord. For her par, this was

:21:41. > :21:50.earlier at the last. Not to be. So, that is a round of 75 for Marianne

:21:51. > :21:56.Skarpnord, finishing at three under. I'm not sure how far she is, but we

:21:57. > :21:57.will say it is under 200 metres. She's got that three wood in her

:21:58. > :22:14.hand there. She is so accurate. She is so

:22:15. > :22:22.dynamic with her short game that you can just about to give a par from

:22:23. > :22:26.there anyway. But pin is not in a particularly tough place today.

:22:27. > :22:29.Coming from the angle that she is, she knew she could put it over to

:22:30. > :22:42.the left-hand side to give herself plenty of room. She needs an up and

:22:43. > :22:50.down here for a round of 69. Marianne Skarpnord tapped in for

:22:51. > :23:00.bogey. It's been a tough day for her. Finishes at three under for the

:23:01. > :23:03.tournament. Richard Green, her partner and caddie top has very much

:23:04. > :23:33.played a lot of European Tour golf. Nicole Broch Larsen is now plus

:23:34. > :23:35.three. That was a round of 81. 81 for the game. That is a tough day on

:23:36. > :23:49.the golf course. -- V Dane. Inbee Park does have a three shot

:23:50. > :23:52.lead at the moment and she will be very keen to hang onto that. To do

:23:53. > :23:57.that she has to get this up and down. How many times this afternoon

:23:58. > :24:02.have we seen this get up and down and make par from this similar

:24:03. > :24:06.situation? Par three, par four and par five. We need to go back to the

:24:07. > :24:11.16th hole where she played a wonderful approach shot from just

:24:12. > :24:19.off the green at 45 metres. Here is the 18th, there is the pin today. As

:24:20. > :24:24.we do a 360 degrees, that is looking back down the fairway. Up to the

:24:25. > :24:36.right there where Inbee Park will be coming in from.

:24:37. > :24:54.It's not a dust storm but we've had a lot of strong winds today.

:24:55. > :25:19.It swings right to let a little bit? It's like one o'clock action.

:25:20. > :25:26.Hang in there. Just on the back of the green. It's going to be about 25

:25:27. > :26:03.feet. 101 metres, or 80. She is hitting a

:26:04. > :26:11.low eight I'm in here, that's what she got for 100 metres. -- a low

:26:12. > :26:20.eight iron. She's just going to knock it in, control it with the

:26:21. > :26:26.hands and the length of the swing. A full swing. Now wants her to get

:26:27. > :26:33.down. Yes, that did seem to me a lot of club from a distance. The wind is

:26:34. > :26:42.blowing. Well, with the upswing. Now she is in the rough stuff way over

:26:43. > :26:49.the back of the green. Inbee Park is about the same, 83 metres. That

:26:50. > :26:55.looks like a wedge to me. It does, doesn't it? It's about right, you

:26:56. > :27:10.would think, with the wind. Yes, very nice. Underneath the hole.

:27:11. > :27:14.And imminently makeable putt for Inbee Park. She has got a couple of

:27:15. > :27:20.those on the back nine and have another chance here. Her three shot

:27:21. > :27:26.strategy is working a treat. It has to be with this wind. A critical

:27:27. > :27:32.shot here was the third shot, judging how strong that wind is.

:27:33. > :27:39.Stacy Lewis didn't get it right. Clearly, Inbee Park did. With an

:27:40. > :27:43.eight iron. Eight iron was all right if she would have punched in there.

:27:44. > :27:57.But I was surprised to see the full swing that it was. Inbee Park, LPGA

:27:58. > :28:05.Hall of Famer. She's got to have an out to in swing here. Take the club

:28:06. > :28:12.outside the line. Try and cut it somehow. Like that. That went way

:28:13. > :28:21.past the pin down to the front edge. Careful, that could roll off all the

:28:22. > :28:27.way down the bottom. It's gone, it's gone. She's paid the price for

:28:28. > :28:49.taking that 8-iron from 100 metres. Meanwhile, Inbee Park and Charley

:28:50. > :29:03.Hull are waiting while we focus on Stacy Lewis. About to play her fifth

:29:04. > :29:08.shot now. She was in good shape after two shots for a par. Now she

:29:09. > :29:32.has got to hole this to make par. Yesterday we were in awe of the 11

:29:33. > :29:38.birdies but she has had, or had yesterday. How many has she had

:29:39. > :29:53.today, I wonder? About two or three, I suppose.

:29:54. > :30:08.Just two birdies today. See Lewis. -- for Stacy Lewis. And from a

:30:09. > :30:13.British point of view Charley Hull has also let this slip quite

:30:14. > :30:21.dramatically. She was only two shots behind. Six bogeys on her card. She

:30:22. > :30:28.scrapped to keep it together, getting good up and downs out of the

:30:29. > :30:32.sand. A few birdies as well, particularly on the front nine. Just

:30:33. > :30:39.the one on the par-5 10th on the back nine.

:30:40. > :30:45.ODA, steady on there. She has had quite a long wait before she could

:30:46. > :30:55.play the shot, probably hasn't helped her cause. Five and a quarter

:30:56. > :31:00.hours, this round, so far, still hasn't finished. Inbee Park has had

:31:01. > :31:12.a long wait as well. Played a very good shot in here. This is for par.

:31:13. > :31:26.She finished up in the bunker. Off the tee, and then this is her fifth.

:31:27. > :31:36.Yes, she is... Why did that ball do that? It has been so long since we

:31:37. > :31:43.started this hole, it seems like it was an hour ago. There has been a

:31:44. > :31:52.lot happening. Inbee Park, one back to the field. It is a round of 70

:31:53. > :31:56.energy finishes 11-under par. Golf balls have a mind of their own.

:31:57. > :32:06.We're not done yet because Stacy Lewis now for bogey. She was 80

:32:07. > :32:13.metres in the middle of the fairway. From the very accessible pin and

:32:14. > :32:22.now, 15 minutes later, she has got a lengthy bogey putt. Any putt longer

:32:23. > :32:24.than two feat is lengthy for a bogey, I suppose. 3-over par for her

:32:25. > :32:57.round today. Not to be. 76 today. Stacy Lewis. After a 73...

:32:58. > :32:59.63, I beg your pardon. But she is four wonderful the tournament,

:33:00. > :33:09.currently seven back and you would have to think that is way too much

:33:10. > :33:20.ground to make up. Two birdies today on ten and 15. She is in a tie for

:33:21. > :33:26.eighth place but as we have just said, she is seven shots off the

:33:27. > :33:39.lead. Charley Hull. Looking slightly better today. It has been a testing

:33:40. > :33:42.time. For everyone. From a British point of view, Charley Hull has

:33:43. > :33:50.probably played herself out of contention. On this back nine. So

:33:51. > :33:59.this is going to be for a round of 74. This is for bogey. So that is

:34:00. > :34:03.it, the end of an extraordinary eventful Thursday here with some

:34:04. > :34:14.extraordinary golf. That was a few moments ago so not

:34:15. > :34:18.the third round Charley Hull would have been dreaming of this morning.

:34:19. > :34:23.It has taken a long time to get round today. It has been

:34:24. > :34:26.particularly slow play. The leaderboard going into the final day

:34:27. > :34:34.tomorrow when the medals will be decided. We will show you the holes

:34:35. > :34:39.in one. We will get back to the basketball in a moment. A day

:34:40. > :34:49.tomorrow when anything can happen. Just a reminder what we have coming

:34:50. > :34:57.up to you, the women's gold medal match in the hockey at 9pm. Team GB

:34:58. > :35:01.taking on the number one seeds in Holland. Then we will have Lutalo

:35:02. > :35:08.Muhammad in his semifinal in the taekwondo. A four second post-fight

:35:09. > :35:13.interview, hopefully we will have a slightly longer chat if he makes it

:35:14. > :35:18.through. Lutalo Muhammad is on the way at 9:15pm. We are going back to

:35:19. > :35:24.the Carioca Arena. One of these two will go through to

:35:25. > :35:35.the gold medal match. Can Spain cause an upset against

:35:36. > :35:49.team USA? COMMENTATOR: Jordan with the

:35:50. > :35:57.rebound. Mrs the short but draws the foul. It is Gasol's third. It is

:35:58. > :36:03.tough for the Spanish when they are trying to rebound. This is Anthony.

:36:04. > :36:05.Good timing, the ball had just left the hand. Just barely got the bottom

:36:06. > :36:26.of the ball. Jordan tries banging it in but it

:36:27. > :36:45.doesn't work. You don't want Gasol fouling anybody. That is the issue.

:36:46. > :36:55.That was the right call. They had the rebound anyway.

:36:56. > :37:03.Irving comes up for it. Jordan is calling for it. He gives it the

:37:04. > :37:11.Anthony instead who lays it in and draws the foul. The US against

:37:12. > :37:20.Serbia had over 43 throws in their game. They could be going to a

:37:21. > :37:24.similar amount here but it is important for them to keep knocking

:37:25. > :37:29.them out. That is the issue and especially with Jordan going to the

:37:30. > :37:33.foul line. Anthony missed a couple for the technical so he needs to

:37:34. > :37:40.pick up in that area. He has already got the basket so this is a 3-point

:37:41. > :37:48.play attack. Cousins has come back in from the US. Playing with a

:37:49. > :37:55.centre throughout the game. Anthony hits and takes a 3-point play, it is

:37:56. > :38:03.a ten point lead. We hit the six minute mark of the third quarter.

:38:04. > :38:16.They get the tip in even though they can't get it to go. Gasol gets the

:38:17. > :38:17.points. Spain really need to do well in that area to give themselves a

:38:18. > :38:33.shot. The soft floater is short. That is

:38:34. > :38:45.Cousins' fourth. That shot normally, he gets those comfortably. Cousins

:38:46. > :38:53.just taking the swap there. The alternative, Cousins, they believed

:38:54. > :39:03.he gave them better offence than they would get from Jordan. Rubio.

:39:04. > :39:14.He finds the range. There is the Spanish women. It is a 5-point game,

:39:15. > :39:17.5.5 to go. They have really encourage them because they come

:39:18. > :39:21.back with ten points down and they have reduced the deficit so it

:39:22. > :39:26.really keeps their confidence going and they believe they can do

:39:27. > :39:36.something in this game. That was Irving at the rainbow. Shot over

:39:37. > :39:42.Paul Gasol. Quick movement of the ball. Hernandez goes back --

:39:43. > :39:48.Fernandez. That was deflected back from Anthony.

:39:49. > :39:59.Rubio pokes it away from Jordan. The Spanish get it loose, Jordan throws

:40:00. > :40:05.it down to du Rand. No foul on Llull and du Rand lays it in.

:40:06. > :40:12.Extraordinary stuff, a little bit messy. Gasol with the rebound, kept

:40:13. > :40:19.it alive and Hernandez picks it up and lays tin. Really impressive from

:40:20. > :40:24.Spain, they picked it up after that first quarter. They now have ten

:40:25. > :40:29.offensive rebound is. Compared to the United States, they are on 14,

:40:30. > :40:37.they are really keeping up. Jordan can get the shot but left it back up

:40:38. > :40:47.for Irving and he puts it in. I think Love is coming in along with

:40:48. > :40:54.Rodriguez. -- Claver is coming in. Irving spins around Llull. Great

:40:55. > :40:58.defence from Llull. Irving kicks it out to Klay Thompson and he misses

:40:59. > :41:08.the three and Jordan swims it through. Importantly for the United

:41:09. > :41:13.States, they have fired everyone up. Maybe a momentum shift going on.

:41:14. > :41:23.Jordan smashing that one down, lifted his bench up. Unfortunate

:41:24. > :41:29.that Klay Thompson missed that. You saw it in the Serbia game against

:41:30. > :41:35.Croatia, there was a massive dunk and it completely inspired the team.

:41:36. > :41:40.I wonder if batters had the same effect on the United States. The

:41:41. > :41:50.United States took the time out in that situation, normally you would

:41:51. > :41:54.have expected Spain to do that. The US have extended that 6-point lead

:41:55. > :41:58.at half-time. We kept saying they do tend to play more on an individual

:41:59. > :42:04.basis and it has been individual plays, like that one from Jordan.

:42:05. > :42:08.Absolutely and they rely on that because they are so good. You have

:42:09. > :42:17.got players coming in and being able to reduce moments like that, it

:42:18. > :42:21.gives you a great opportunity. The coach was getting up off the bench

:42:22. > :42:25.and was trying to point things out. I think that is why he took time out

:42:26. > :42:36.to address something he saw on the floor. The coach still talking to

:42:37. > :42:44.Kyle Lowry. He is coming into the game with Paul George. It has taken

:42:45. > :42:59.some time to figure this out. Lowry just lost Rodriguez. Durant shift

:43:00. > :43:06.out on Rodriguez. Jordan blocks the shot and Jordan is certainly

:43:07. > :43:14.energised. Klay Thompson on the sideline as he took a pass from

:43:15. > :43:22.Lowry. Llull might be getting into trouble himself. He really fired up.

:43:23. > :43:28.An 11 point lead. Four blocks for the US though.

:43:29. > :43:42.Gasol shoots. Gasol doing everything he can to keep Spain in this one. A

:43:43. > :43:52.great game, 21 points for Gasol, a couple of triples as well. Rudy

:43:53. > :43:58.Fernandez. George lost the ball. There is a foul on George. There

:43:59. > :44:07.again is that stopping of the momentum and a break from happening,

:44:08. > :44:14.the intentional foul, only the second for Jordan. But earlier 34

:44:15. > :44:16.Gasol. It means Spain... They can get back set up defensively and

:44:17. > :44:32.Spain can start again. Great mentality from Spain. After

:44:33. > :44:35.that time out and that dunk from Jordan, they kept going, kept

:44:36. > :44:41.playing and plugging away and getting those baskets. Rodriguez

:44:42. > :45:00.tried to hand it back to Lowry. Rodriguez drives and a rant, get the

:45:01. > :45:09.ball back. Jordan rebounds and comes up for the US. Chris Jeschke

:45:10. > :45:17.disgusted during the time-out. -- Mike Krzyzewski. Brilliant shooting

:45:18. > :45:20.from these individuals and their one on one ability. It's really carrying

:45:21. > :45:25.the United States through at the moment. Given how well could

:45:26. > :45:33.penetrate, you would think that's what they would be doing. He's got

:45:34. > :45:39.Jordan on him, looking for the mismatch. It is Thompson on Gasol.

:45:40. > :45:44.Gasol muscled his way in. Jordan picked it off. Watch out, Jordan

:45:45. > :45:51.with the two-handed lamb! And they're going to call it. --

:45:52. > :45:56.two-handed Slam. He's done well to keep his cool and not say anything.

:45:57. > :46:02.I called for a double dribble, to be honest. He dribbled was two hands. I

:46:03. > :46:09.guess that's what they call it in the NBA. That's what he's used to.

:46:10. > :46:12.It's just a different type of refereeing but they're not

:46:13. > :46:21.accustomed to. It's cost them two points and Jordan will have a rest.

:46:22. > :46:33.What they've done in this situation is bring Cousins back in. They will

:46:34. > :46:38.be happy, I guess, to get as many minutes as they can from Cousins and

:46:39. > :46:52.then bring Jordan in. Cousins deflected it and we have a full on

:46:53. > :46:55.Klay Thompson. -- a fall. At this point and at half-time Australia was

:46:56. > :47:00.actually leading in their match. They really pushed at that point.

:47:01. > :47:03.Against Serbia it was about this score up until the last few minutes,

:47:04. > :47:09.and then Serbia really push them until the end. They got it until

:47:10. > :47:13.three. I wonder if that's how Spain have approached. Stay in touch as

:47:14. > :47:22.much as you can, and then push hard at the end. He is doing what works.

:47:23. > :47:28.Navarro can get back to go. Tip in and it is 64-67 in the last minute.

:47:29. > :47:36.Pau Gasol gets his sixth offensive rebound, his 23rd point of the game.

:47:37. > :47:42.Fall drives, stops and pops. He misses everything and there is a

:47:43. > :47:55.foul on Victor Claver. -- Lowry drives.

:47:56. > :48:04.What a magnificent game. DeMarcus Cousins didn't last long, he

:48:05. > :48:12.followed him out. That is the risk he took. I have to confess, I didn't

:48:13. > :48:20.see that one. I thought the full was out, but it didn't seem to be. It

:48:21. > :48:26.seemed to be something happening off the ball. It was difficult to see.

:48:27. > :48:30.Jordan has come back in the game, pulls it back with those long arms.

:48:31. > :48:43.He gives it to Lowry. They can work for 1-shot. Thompson coming up.

:48:44. > :48:49.Jordan setting the screen. Lowry back to Thompson. He put it up

:48:50. > :48:53.and... Beautiful stuff! Jordan dropped it through the hoop just

:48:54. > :49:04.before the bother. At the end of the third quarter it is at US 66-57

:49:05. > :49:06.Spain. DeMarcus Jordan has made some plays.

:49:07. > :49:10.STUDIO: we will be back for the final quarter of that.

:49:11. > :49:14.Potential upset on the cards for Spain and team USA. Earlier on,

:49:15. > :49:20.about 15 minutes ago, we promised you some hole in one action. In the

:49:21. > :49:25.men's competition we saw Justin Rose and Jaco van Zyl. Today in the third

:49:26. > :49:34.round of the women's competition we had two. Here they are for you.

:49:35. > :49:43.COMMENTATOR: the eighth, Lindsay you of China. This looks good. How about

:49:44. > :49:55.that? We have got a hole on the eighth.

:49:56. > :50:08.Lin Xi Yu of China puts a one on the card. It's only 140 yards but it was

:50:09. > :50:18.fully exposed to the wind. 7-iron, I think. And oh, my goodness! Lydia Ko

:50:19. > :50:25.has done it again, but less time if hole-in-one.

:50:26. > :50:31.No matter how many times you see a hole-in-one it is always worth

:50:32. > :50:35.seeing another one. Let's show you what else is on where. Over on the

:50:36. > :50:41.Red Button you will be able to see Tom Daley. He is going in a

:50:42. > :50:46.qualifying for the ten metre platform diving. That is tomorrow,

:50:47. > :50:51.the semifinals. Tom Daley trying to get into that by going through

:50:52. > :50:55.qualifying. Remember he won a bronze four years ago in London, trying to

:50:56. > :51:00.better that. The diving has been brilliant for Team GB so far in

:51:01. > :51:06.these games. On BBC One, kicked off at 9pm is Team GB taking on the

:51:07. > :51:10.Netherlands, the number one ranked side in women's hockey. That is a

:51:11. > :51:18.gold medal match which starts in about ten minutes time over on BBC

:51:19. > :51:26.One. A reminder once again that at 9:15pm, 25 minutes away, we will

:51:27. > :51:31.have the semifinal for Lutalo Muhammad in the taekwondo. He has

:51:32. > :51:36.looked supremely confident so far. One more bout and he then gets into

:51:37. > :51:42.the gold-medal match. Maybe he can add that to the bronze he won four

:51:43. > :51:45.years ago in London. That will be live at 915 for you. Let's get back

:51:46. > :51:47.to the basketball. It's relatively tight. Team USA in a comfortable

:51:48. > :52:02.position. COMMENTATOR: unbelievable stuff. In

:52:03. > :52:07.a great position, and missed it. Rudy Fernandez made of the three and

:52:08. > :52:10.stepped out of bounds as he started his move. I'm not sure the players

:52:11. > :52:18.can see that line very well because a lot of them have been done. Bring

:52:19. > :52:23.out. It's so close. But let missing an easy one. Klay Thompson block to

:52:24. > :52:26.be shot, amazing stuff. I keep looking at the distance between the

:52:27. > :52:36.three point Circle and the line. That went through yet another point.

:52:37. > :52:42.The court seems narrower than it should be. I think it's an optical

:52:43. > :52:52.illusion. 68-57 as Rudy Fernandez goes to the bench. Hernangomez comes

:52:53. > :52:58.back in. It is Hernangomez and Nikola Mirotic. Another block for

:52:59. > :53:04.Jordan. George Corral is that one in the corner and Lowry brings it up

:53:05. > :53:09.for the US. Nearly loses the ball. Still has his dribble. On top of him

:53:10. > :53:16.like a wrestler at the start of the match. That was tipped away by

:53:17. > :53:21.Navarro. They keep it in play with Butler, just four on the shot block.

:53:22. > :53:28.Releases that, it hits the rims though it is a good rebound. George

:53:29. > :53:33.lays it in for the basket. 70-57. Mike Krzyzewski was off his seat and

:53:34. > :53:39.on the court. He is really annoyed about something and I think they

:53:40. > :53:47.will type the -- will take the time out, the United States. Spain have

:53:48. > :53:50.worked though, so hard. They tipped the ball away a couple of times.

:53:51. > :53:52.Then you don't have the offensive rebound, that is what happens. The

:53:53. > :54:20.US ends up having the points. There is you look at the leading

:54:21. > :54:30.scores. Gasol leaves them all with 23. It was Spain who ended up

:54:31. > :54:33.calling the time out. I cannot read Mike Krzyzewski whatsoever. It

:54:34. > :54:40.looked like he was really annoyed about something, but he was really

:54:41. > :54:44.happy! That's how he displays it. Sometimes you don't get perfect

:54:45. > :54:52.play, but you get hard work. That is perfect play. Lowry has such a soft

:54:53. > :54:55.touch of the blast. I don't know whose foot that is so it makes it

:54:56. > :55:02.harder to interpret what that message means. We don't even know if

:55:03. > :55:07.it is a player's foot. It might be an important message, regardless.

:55:08. > :55:14.Just under eight minutes to play in the game. 70-57 for the US by their

:55:15. > :55:21.team. Navarro missed yet another rebound from Jordan. Gives it to

:55:22. > :55:29.Lowry and Lowry brings it up. Rubio with that hand in there. Lowry moves

:55:30. > :55:35.past him. Off the glass, carbon copy. You talk about Spain needing a

:55:36. > :55:39.strong fourth quarter. It's not happening for them at the moment.

:55:40. > :55:43.They haven't even scored yet. The US is getting the rebound and the

:55:44. > :55:51.basket. And what can you do? Jordan is a monster right now and Lowry is

:55:52. > :55:59.simply taking the ball and laying it in. Navarro doing the same thing. He

:56:00. > :56:07.puts it in. 72-59. Maybe that is what you do? All alone for three.

:56:08. > :56:16.George Mrs. Nikola Mirotic with the rebound. He drives, it's not away

:56:17. > :56:21.from him by Butler. Klay Thompson brings it up. Good pass to George,

:56:22. > :56:25.George loses the ball. If you're going to call Jordan for travelling,

:56:26. > :56:28.you might as well called George for carrying the ball in that instance

:56:29. > :56:34.because that's exactly what happened. It was a bit more blatant.

:56:35. > :56:38.It seems like the US have picked up the pace a little, particularly in

:56:39. > :56:42.the last few minutes. They probably thought Spain would come out. This

:56:43. > :56:48.is the only basket Spain have scored in the fourth quarter. They needed a

:56:49. > :56:52.big one because they're down by 13 points here. Is being really

:56:53. > :57:02.dynamic. He's got such great control. Spain looked a little

:57:03. > :57:07.tired. There is Thompson, he misses it. But the one guy who is not hired

:57:08. > :57:14.for Spain is Navarro! Navarro is going 100 miles an hour. Or 160

:57:15. > :57:19.kilometres an hour. Jordan's having a big game as well for the US.

:57:20. > :57:23.Jordan just bike that one. You saw him pull his jersey. Jersey pools

:57:24. > :57:30.are often the most obvious foul in the world. Navarro, the old boys are

:57:31. > :57:47.carrying Spain. They are, they are relying on Gasol.

:57:48. > :57:52.Thompson for three, hits. That is the backbreaker, just as you find

:57:53. > :57:56.the way back into the game. That's what Klay Thompson gives you as

:57:57. > :57:59.well. It's the first time we've seen that there the Olympic Games where

:58:00. > :58:08.he is just so comfortable in the corner. Nikola Mirotic, his first

:58:09. > :58:13.three of the game. He is a natural for that. 75-65, it is ten

:58:14. > :58:19.approaching the halfway point of the fourth quarter. When one team starts

:58:20. > :58:25.putting them away, the other gets inspired. Thompson working

:58:26. > :58:33.one-on-one. Nobody is moving for the Americans, they will just watching

:58:34. > :58:44.shoot. Gasol tips it to Mitroic. There is Gasol for the open three.

:58:45. > :58:45.Mitroic on the rebound. Mitroic has done more to last five minutes and

:58:46. > :58:59.ten seconds. There seems to be a bit of contact,

:59:00. > :59:12.I'm not sure what it was. Lowry drew the foul. If it's a foul on Mitroic?

:59:13. > :59:19.No, it's not. It is Larry's foul. -- it is Lowry's foul.

:59:20. > :59:25.Jordan, can you imagine what a volleyball player he would be? When

:59:26. > :59:55.he spiked but onto the glass. Strong, faster tempo. Try to cut off

:59:56. > :59:59.the drives. This is Navarro. Klay Thompson, Thompson assured the

:00:00. > :00:04.Navarro. The Jordan gets a piece of it and then Thompson comes down the

:00:05. > :00:08.other end. Kevin Durant hasn't really been at his best in this

:00:09. > :00:12.game, which is surprising. He still put up a number of points but they

:00:13. > :00:16.have relied on Klay Thompson in this one who has come to the full for the

:00:17. > :00:24.United States just when they needed someone to hit those threes. Iran

:00:25. > :00:33.has three points, very quiet. Jordan has nine.

:00:34. > :00:47.Rodriguez now for Spain. Gasol on Jordan. Jordan is that much quicker

:00:48. > :00:52.than Cousins as a defender, it is harder for Gasol to try to get

:00:53. > :00:55.around him. Almost as if they benefited from Jordan coming back on

:00:56. > :01:06.to play a bit more because he has been brilliant for them. That time,

:01:07. > :01:14.Irving hit it. 13 points, it doesn't even feel like he has done that much

:01:15. > :01:18.in this game. Four minutes to play. This is it, four minutes to go and

:01:19. > :01:24.they need to start getting on a run and stopping the United States as

:01:25. > :01:34.well. Jordan sets the screen, Irving the three out again.

:01:35. > :01:46.Mirotic for three and that is off. This is costing Spain another 15

:01:47. > :01:51.seconds each. Let's see if they move through or they just go out to the

:01:52. > :02:00.outside. Klay Thompson comes through the middle. Mirotic involved in a

:02:01. > :02:09.little wrestling match. The shot is short. Going to be a US ball.

:02:10. > :02:17.You work so hard to bring the shot blocked down, it is a difficult

:02:18. > :02:24.attempt and then your opponent gets the ball back for a reset shot

:02:25. > :02:28.clock. That was blocked by Gasol. There is the pastor Mirotic

:02:29. > :02:32.anti-stuffs it through. Spain leading the US back down the court.

:02:33. > :02:39.A 9-point game with three minutes to go. It felt like a deflating moment

:02:40. > :02:44.and Spain picked themselves up. Spain playing a zone right now,

:02:45. > :02:50.double team and the pass goes out of bounds off Rodriguez. This was a

:02:51. > :02:55.good technique for a couple of teams. If you play zone and invite

:02:56. > :03:02.the US to sit out side the zone and shoot, and if they are not

:03:03. > :03:11.shooting,... Mirotic. Klay Thompson becomes very important. Irving

:03:12. > :03:17.misses and her Mackems Spain. Rodriguez for three. -- her Mackems

:03:18. > :03:32.Spain -- here calms Spain. The fouling has dropped dramatically

:03:33. > :03:38.in the second half. I'm not even the hint of a technical foul. The

:03:39. > :03:44.referee has got the job done in the second quarter, sent out the message

:03:45. > :03:54.and the players finally got it. Six technical fouls in the quarter. Only

:03:55. > :03:56.DeMarcus Cousins... The time had taken again by Spain and the coach

:03:57. > :04:14.Sergio Scariolo. He is looking for threes. You can

:04:15. > :04:41.see, the high, low post. It was a low-risk move taking the

:04:42. > :04:48.time out. Spain now will have to look for the 3-point shots. Mirotic

:04:49. > :04:50.had this one. If they can get that right, they are really putting

:04:51. > :05:23.themselves in with a shot. Anthony is called for the offensive

:05:24. > :05:31.foul on Llull. Llull was hanging on him like a cheap suit. Second-team

:05:32. > :05:37.foul for the United States. That is a big turnover, watch here. That is

:05:38. > :05:46.where the foul was called, you calmly. They saw something there.

:05:47. > :05:59.It is an offensive foul. Not overcharging, for holding off with

:06:00. > :06:03.the left hand. He went up with the shot and he was pushing with the

:06:04. > :06:09.left hand and the referee has called it as Jordan went to the ground. A

:06:10. > :06:17.huge moment in this game. He got him in the face, that is why. What's the

:06:18. > :06:23.left hand. Right there, in your face. No contact from Jordan

:06:24. > :06:29.whatsoever. If you didn't get him in the face in international

:06:30. > :06:36.basketball, 99%, it would be a foul on the defender. Even though you

:06:37. > :06:43.have extended the arm. He got Jordan right in the face. This is huge for

:06:44. > :06:48.the US. Spain showing pressure, George comes in and the lay-off

:06:49. > :06:54.misses. He gets it back and has the presence of mind to start a new

:06:55. > :06:59.possession. George cannot get the bucket to go but it is tipped by

:07:00. > :07:06.Anthony back to George. This is killing them. This is killing Spain

:07:07. > :07:11.right now. They can ill afford a few attempts at the basket from the US.

:07:12. > :07:17.Durant with the floater. That combination of the offence foul

:07:18. > :07:27.under three shot possession has been disastrous for Spain. If the basket

:07:28. > :07:34.is good, he gets the full shot. Another offensive foul call. There

:07:35. > :07:42.you see it, another great call, Llull grabbed the arm. You don't see

:07:43. > :07:47.that very often. I'm not sure I'd seen that in any of the big games.

:07:48. > :07:54.It is going against Spain right now but they have been at fault. I can't

:07:55. > :08:00.say I feel sorry for them but I feel for them in the sense that in

:08:01. > :08:03.international basketball, 90 time -- 99 times out of a hundred, they will

:08:04. > :08:09.not call that on the offensive player. USA will feel really

:08:10. > :08:25.comfortable they can win it from her. -- here. George with the dunk.

:08:26. > :08:30.14 seconds off the shot clock. Paul Gasol knows I think that there is

:08:31. > :08:35.nothing much from now they can do. They are doing what they can.

:08:36. > :08:38.Exactly, they don't give up. This is too good a basketball team to quit.

:08:39. > :08:53.Looking for the foul. Spain can't take any time outs. It

:08:54. > :09:02.is knocked away from du Rand by Claver. Mirotic. You know that rule

:09:03. > :09:07.about the cylinder and you go up in the air, you are allowed to come

:09:08. > :09:13.back down where you went up from, watch Mirotic. No one is coming

:09:14. > :09:15.down. He came forward anyway but Mirotic comes forward, just to make

:09:16. > :09:44.sure. He is going to shoot three. They don't quit. It looks like there

:09:45. > :09:47.will be under 100 points. The only time that has happened was against

:09:48. > :09:52.Serbia and Australia when they pushed into the distance and Spain

:09:53. > :09:55.are going to push them again. That couldn't have been better if he

:09:56. > :10:04.planned it but he missed the rebound. You heard them yelling,

:10:05. > :10:09.hold it, from the sideline. Thompson gets trapped and comes out of it,

:10:10. > :10:19.across the Lowry. Durant looks at the shot clock. The floater is

:10:20. > :10:32.thrown up and Claver loc cit, he has made a couple of big plays in the

:10:33. > :10:36.last minute. -- Claver blocks it. Remarkable, considering that play

:10:37. > :10:43.went against Spain, with Llull being hit for the offensive foul... Rubio

:10:44. > :10:45.is coming back on. The last time these games played an Olympic play,

:10:46. > :11:00.the last four plays. Rodriguez with the block and they

:11:01. > :11:07.knocked it out from the inside and that will count.

:11:08. > :11:14.You just said it and it is absolutely true, Spain ended that

:11:15. > :11:18.pattern of play and made it very difficult for the United States. The

:11:19. > :11:23.US don't have that kind of team that chips away. They have to be hitting

:11:24. > :11:34.from outside. Spain has given them all they could handle.

:11:35. > :11:41.A pretty comfortable victory for team USA as expected. We will find

:11:42. > :11:44.out who they will play in the final a little later. Australia take on

:11:45. > :11:50.Serbia in the other final and we will show you some of that later.

:11:51. > :11:55.Despite the fact it is 26 degrees, it is incredibly windy. Have a look

:11:56. > :12:00.at this, the wind and waves are up. There are some people out there

:12:01. > :12:08.swimming. What an absolute wipe-out that was. I hope she actually OK. Is

:12:09. > :12:13.she there? She's still there, don't panic! That is where there is a flag

:12:14. > :12:19.out there saying, no swimming. You can see how powerful those waves

:12:20. > :12:23.are. I think surfing is in the Olympic roster in Tokyo Twenty20s so

:12:24. > :12:28.maybe a bit of rehearsing going on out here. We have Lutalo Muhammad on

:12:29. > :12:34.the way in a few moments time, in the semifinal of his taekwondo bout.

:12:35. > :12:37.If he needs any inspiration, he need look no further than last night and

:12:38. > :12:49.a young lady by the name of Jade Jones.

:12:50. > :12:56.Defending her Olympic title, Jade Jones of Great Britain. This is the

:12:57. > :13:02.battle for gold or silver. Gomez, Spanish fighter. She sneaks in,

:13:03. > :13:12.takes the head shot and plans another. -- plants another.

:13:13. > :13:23.An absolute picture perfect shot. Gomez reeling and rocking. This, a

:13:24. > :13:37.real battle. Time for Gomez to try to do something. Jones takes

:13:38. > :13:41.another, Gomez on the back foot. The Welsh wonder strikes gold again. To

:13:42. > :13:50.the delight of the British fans and the Brazilian crowd. Wonderful

:13:51. > :13:52.performance, absolute perfection. Jade Jones becomes the two times

:13:53. > :14:04.Olympic champion. What a brilliant job Jade Jones did

:14:05. > :14:11.last night, double Olympic champion she is now. Lutalo Muhammad just

:14:12. > :14:17.about to come out to take on Milan Harchegani of Azerbaijan in the

:14:18. > :14:23.semifinal. Big opportunity for him to add to the bronze medal he won

:14:24. > :14:27.four years ago. He is supremely confident and he feels it is his

:14:28. > :14:32.destiny to win the big medal. Their areas. If he wins this, he goes into

:14:33. > :14:39.the gold medal match which you will be able to see later. This is the

:14:40. > :15:11.semifinal and the talk this through it, Neil Adams and John Callum.

:15:12. > :15:17.COMMENTATOR: three times two-minute rounds, Olympic tae kwon do. The

:15:18. > :15:26.semifinal. Lutalo Muhammad against Beigi Harchegani. Beigi Harchegani

:15:27. > :15:31.is in red. Electronic headgear and body armour with sensors on the

:15:32. > :15:36.socks. You will find the space straightaway? Harchegani in red, the

:15:37. > :15:46.slightly taller of the two. Muhammed stands at six foot three. His

:15:47. > :15:50.opponent, 66. Keeping his head back. This one, a big battle for distance.

:15:51. > :15:56.You can see that they are both aiming for the head as well. The big

:15:57. > :16:09.kicks. But will it be the big points on the board? Muhammed's

:16:10. > :16:20.concentration, absolute laser-like focus. Harchegani does well to cover

:16:21. > :16:24.with two chop kicks. Just finding the range, like you said. How

:16:25. > :16:30.quickly can you get in and out of danger? Keep yourself out of danger

:16:31. > :16:40.at the moment. The Taylor Mohammed keeping his head back. -- Lutalo

:16:41. > :16:50.Muhammad. A good response from Harchegani. Tense times here in the

:16:51. > :16:54.semifinal. I don't know how many times you said it's about leading

:16:55. > :17:00.them in, and that body positioning is important but also the fake. That

:17:01. > :17:05.is what they're doing all the time, just a small fake, lead them in and

:17:06. > :17:06.lead them into the danger. Leading them into dangerous territory with

:17:07. > :17:23.the referee. A cagey tactical stalemate, resolute

:17:24. > :17:30.concentration on the face of Muhammed. A good front leg attempt

:17:31. > :17:36.from the Taylor Muhammed. Just flicks it over the shoulder of

:17:37. > :17:41.Harchegani. -- from Lutalo Muhammad. An engaging opening round. Nothing

:17:42. > :17:44.happening on the scoreboard, but that fact-finding flurry between the

:17:45. > :17:49.two, they will know how to approach each other. I think so, and they

:17:50. > :17:53.will just come out in that second round. They know about the tactical

:17:54. > :17:58.side and they know what we want to do. That is what the coaches will be

:17:59. > :18:02.telling them as well. Just make the readjustment because that's all it

:18:03. > :18:05.takes as well. They're just missing and that readjustment will make all

:18:06. > :18:15.the difference between points and no points. Of course, points make

:18:16. > :18:19.prizes and the big prize at stake here, the Olympic final. It is just

:18:20. > :18:26.about on the horizon for both fine fighters. Lutalo Muhammad just

:18:27. > :18:38.missing with those head shots. Harchegani very much alive in this

:18:39. > :18:43.contest. Steve Jennings have had successes, too. Olympic bronze for

:18:44. > :18:48.Muhammed in London. Can he go one further here? He's got a massive

:18:49. > :19:00.mountain of an opponent here, Beigi Harchegani standing at six feet six.

:19:01. > :19:05.Both men just leaning back. This one yet to take the contest. Here is the

:19:06. > :19:07.first point on the board for Muhammed, the little push kick

:19:08. > :19:16.underneath the guard and that will be very helpful. A good start. How

:19:17. > :19:23.often have we seen that simple kick? Just straightforward and right on

:19:24. > :19:29.target. They're doing really well to stay in the ring, Lutalo Muhammad.

:19:30. > :19:33.Reeling and rocking, but staying in the Carioca Arena. One point to be

:19:34. > :19:50.good. Good defence there from Lutalo

:19:51. > :19:59.Muhammad. Beigi Harchegani has lots to look at here. This tempo suits

:20:00. > :20:03.the British fighter. Doing really well to keep this tempo. Harchegani

:20:04. > :20:05.coming forward a little bit more now. The referee is having a close

:20:06. > :20:23.look. Lutalo Muhammad just gets his focus

:20:24. > :20:26.back. He's just waiting, and just waiting a little bit too long. The

:20:27. > :20:36.referee has said he wants more action. There is Harchegani scoring

:20:37. > :20:40.with a wonderful headshot. Patients pause off -- Patience pays off.

:20:41. > :20:48.Beigi Harchegani finding himself with a 3-point lead there. Perfect

:20:49. > :20:59.timing. Just hanging off and waiting for the Azeri to come in. Responding

:21:00. > :21:04.with a back kick. Muhammed's timing, really well. But it is Harchegani

:21:05. > :21:09.that licks one round of the back. There looked to be some holding

:21:10. > :21:16.there. That headshot has been invalidated. If you hold and keep to

:21:17. > :21:22.the face, it doesn't count. No video replay needed. That has given Lutalo

:21:23. > :21:27.Muhammad a very handy 4-point lead. It has. That was a bit fortunate, I

:21:28. > :21:31.have to say. But rules are rules. You're not allowed to hold. It could

:21:32. > :21:33.have been all evens, but it's not. It's a healthy lead going into the

:21:34. > :21:46.final round. Olympic tae kwon do, the art of

:21:47. > :21:53.kicking and punching. There was the big head kick, and it. Lutalo

:21:54. > :22:03.Muhammad, very concentrated. Harchegani up against it. That looks

:22:04. > :22:07.like Steve Jennings, the British coach, liked that one. I think he

:22:08. > :22:12.did and from a tactical point of view I think Harchegani is going to

:22:13. > :22:16.have to come out all guns blazing. Muhammed has got to really

:22:17. > :22:21.concentrate. This is the semifinal in the men's under kilograms

:22:22. > :22:29.grouping. Lutalo Muhammad of Great Britain against Beigi Harchegani of

:22:30. > :22:35.Azerbaijan. The Azeri is the taller of the two but the big gap is in

:22:36. > :22:45.favour of the bridge, four points ahead. Tense times here, and Olympic

:22:46. > :22:51.final ahead. Do your attacks, do your defend. He closed it down, he

:22:52. > :23:00.didn't want to be there for the reverse kick. 5-2 now. A little

:23:01. > :23:02.pushed kick now from Harchegani. The space opened, he capitalised. A

:23:03. > :23:20.little hook kick to the body there. You can just about hear Steve

:23:21. > :23:27.Jennings is advising to go higher with that kick. Almost closing the

:23:28. > :23:32.gap with Harchegani, the response from Muhammed. This one going

:23:33. > :23:41.backwards. It is a foul. You out. Lutalo Muhammad having a

:23:42. > :23:52.conversation with Steve Jennings. -- it is a foul. You out. Harchegani

:23:53. > :23:56.going for the big points. Not just defending, Harchegani. He is two

:23:57. > :24:01.points down but there is a foul against Muhammed. He keeps trying to

:24:02. > :24:05.close the gap, Muhammed. I think he's got to be careful because we've

:24:06. > :24:08.seen it so often in this last-minute. Harchegani is going to

:24:09. > :24:16.come forward. He's looking for the big points. Big points, but not much

:24:17. > :24:20.time left with which to do it. Lutalo Muhammad using the pushed

:24:21. > :24:24.kick, trying to maintain his lead. He goes with a headshot of his own.

:24:25. > :24:28.This affair will suit the British fighter. At the moment, breathing

:24:29. > :24:37.hard. Huge pressure, uncharted territory. Olympic bronze in London.

:24:38. > :24:45.Can he go one further here? Again, closing it up. 5- for now. He's

:24:46. > :24:52.close the gap. One more point to even it all up. -- 5-4-macro now.

:24:53. > :24:57.The defensive tactics of Lutalo Muhammad, will they pay off?

:24:58. > :25:03.Harchegani of Azerbaijan is one point off. The Olympic final awaits.

:25:04. > :25:08.Muhammed manages to seal the deal. A perfect shot. A response from

:25:09. > :25:14.Harchegani, and it is all kicking off. Ten seconds to go. 11-7, Lutalo

:25:15. > :25:23.Muhammad of Great Britain on the cusp of an Olympic final. The clock

:25:24. > :25:33.is ticking down. Beigi Harchegani on the move. Lutalo Muhammad in the

:25:34. > :25:40.final! Tremendous scenes here, picture perfect performance. Lutalo

:25:41. > :25:46.Muhammad of Great Britain, tactically perfect. Timing was spot

:25:47. > :25:54.on. Patients is most certainly a virtue. The man from Walthamstow, he

:25:55. > :26:00.is shouting "Olympic final" and that is where he is going. That is

:26:01. > :26:05.amazing, what a tactical match from Muhammed. He played it perfectly and

:26:06. > :26:08.that was terrific stuff. He's through to the final. He's got one

:26:09. > :26:15.further than the last Olympic Games, that was brilliant. A big chance now

:26:16. > :26:25.for Lutalo Muhammad. He loves the crowd. They love him back. Steve

:26:26. > :26:30.Jennings as well. Tactically perfect. Confirmation, in the

:26:31. > :26:32.semifinal. Great Britain's Lutalo Muhammad is on his way to the

:26:33. > :26:55.Olympic Games finals. Harchegani of Azerbaijan came in as

:26:56. > :27:00.one of the favourites for the medal. But Lutalo Muhammad, his flicks,

:27:01. > :27:04.ability and timing. That's tae skill has put him into his first ever

:27:05. > :27:18.Olympic Games final. STUDIO: brilliant stuff from Lutalo

:27:19. > :27:23.Muhammad. There is the coaching team as well. That is an indication of

:27:24. > :27:27.what it feels like to make an Olympic final. A bronze in London

:27:28. > :27:32.four years ago. He came here fully believing that he was good enough to

:27:33. > :27:36.win a better medal and now he will go for the gold. Just in case you're

:27:37. > :27:44.wondering what time you will be able to see that, that will be at 2:15am

:27:45. > :27:48.in the UK. If you want to see if Lutalo Muhammad can add to the gold

:27:49. > :27:52.of Jade Jones of yesterday, you will have two stay up a little bit later.

:27:53. > :27:57.There will be more taekwondo to follow. Tomorrow we have Bianca

:27:58. > :28:05.Walkden, Jade Jones's housemate. She is going in the heavyweights for the

:28:06. > :28:11.women's. Lutalo Muhammad, 2:15am UK time. We will find out who he will

:28:12. > :28:18.fight a little later on. The second semifinal is about half an hour

:28:19. > :28:22.away. He has been fantastic. He has ridden it home.

:28:23. > :28:32.A tactical masterclass. Thank you, we had a terrific game plan, me and

:28:33. > :28:36.my coach. And we executed it. I'm so grateful that I have this platform,

:28:37. > :28:40.this opportunity. I'm in the Olympic final and I've got one more step

:28:41. > :28:46.before I accomplish my goal of becoming an Olympic champion. You

:28:47. > :28:50.have beaten Olympic champions and European champions and looks so

:28:51. > :28:58.powerful. I feel really good. We work hard in Manchester at the

:28:59. > :29:03.Academy. GB tae kwon preparation. On many occasions I wanted to stop, it

:29:04. > :29:07.was that hard. It's lovely to be rewarded for the fruits of our

:29:08. > :29:14.labour. It was a team effort. You've gone further than you did at London

:29:15. > :29:21.2012. Exactly. We are in the final now. It's guaranteed over, but who

:29:22. > :29:26.once silver? Very best of luck. STUDIO: I promised you a slightly

:29:27. > :29:35.longer interview. What a character he is. At 2:15am you will be able to

:29:36. > :29:39.see his final. Lutalo Muhammad guaranteed a silver, could be a gold

:29:40. > :29:43.to add to the bronze he went four years ago and the bronze that Jade

:29:44. > :29:48.-- and the gold Jade Jones when yesterday. It looks like Team GB

:29:49. > :29:53.could have a really good finish to these games. Earlier we saw Nick

:29:54. > :29:57.Skelton win gold in the individual show-jumping as well. His story is

:29:58. > :30:01.an incredible one. In 2000 he retired from the sport with a broken

:30:02. > :30:06.neck and said he didn't want to do any more, he felt physically unable

:30:07. > :30:14.to do so. More injury problems in 2011, he had a hip replacement. In

:30:15. > :30:18.2016 he has won Olympic gold at his seventh Games. That is frankly

:30:19. > :30:22.ridiculous. You heard Lutalo Muhammad talk about the fact that he

:30:23. > :30:25.has considered his future in the sport because of injury on many

:30:26. > :30:30.occasions. We have said this a few times, but if you're out there

:30:31. > :30:34.watching this on BBC for all you are watching BBC One or won the Red

:30:35. > :30:37.Button, where ever you are watching things, if there is a sport but you

:30:38. > :30:42.seem and would like to give it a go or get your children to have a go,

:30:43. > :30:48.if you go to the get inspired section of the BBC website you will

:30:49. > :30:53.be able to see exactly where your nearest copies and get information

:30:54. > :30:57.about how you can get involved in a sport that has picked up an interest

:30:58. > :31:03.in you over the course of the last two weeks.

:31:04. > :31:09.Fellow, look at that, piggyback riding on the beach could be an

:31:10. > :31:19.Olympic sport! Very inventive, gentlemen. We're really from? From

:31:20. > :31:26.Exeter? Enjoy yourselves, all the way from Exeter. This won't help

:31:27. > :31:30.people who think we are not in Copacabana when they are from

:31:31. > :31:32.Exeter! Someone who has been enjoying everything happening on the

:31:33. > :31:41.beach throughout these games because of various occasions, he has got

:31:42. > :31:47.involved in our Copacabanter, a man by the name of Matthew Pinsent and

:31:48. > :31:52.he does enjoy the Olympics. He has won four gold medals. You are down

:31:53. > :31:59.at the Pentax Lond. We have Samantha Murray's Malm on there the other day

:32:00. > :32:05.and she was saying how her daughter got into this sport. Run through

:32:06. > :32:11.what has happened today. Modern pentathlon, five sports involved in

:32:12. > :32:15.this. They had fencing, a preliminary round yesterday, then a

:32:16. > :32:23.swim, then a fencing bonus round, then we have had some equestrian

:32:24. > :32:28.jumping and the combined which is a 3.2 kilometre run followed by laser

:32:29. > :32:36.shooting. It is all going to happen outside here. It is all coming

:32:37. > :32:42.together for modern pentathlon. What sort of deficit to the Brits have to

:32:43. > :32:45.make up? Sam Murray is a minute and eight seconds behind and what

:32:46. > :32:51.happens in the combined event is that the leaders will go off first

:32:52. > :32:55.and every subsequent runner goes off in the gap in the points deficit

:32:56. > :33:01.that they have so a minute and eight, Sam Murray will go behind the

:33:02. > :33:08.leader. Kate French, our second Great Britain competitor will be 53

:33:09. > :33:18.seconds behind the leader. Thank you very much for that. Matthew, sorry?

:33:19. > :33:24.I was just going to say the link from Bognor is working really well.

:33:25. > :33:28.Crystal clear. Listen, you are causing all sorts of issues. It was

:33:29. > :33:35.your fault earlier when people thought we weren't in Copacabana.

:33:36. > :33:39.This is not Bognor Regis! The blue screen is working fantastically!

:33:40. > :33:45.Just because you have been knighted, I am not allowed to insult you! If I

:33:46. > :33:50.could rob him of his knighthood, I think I would! We are definitely in

:33:51. > :34:07.Rio! If you would like to get involved on any of our other

:34:08. > :34:12.hashtags, Copcab-binmen, Copacab0Anthony Worral Thompson.

:34:13. > :34:21.There were a few mentioned yesterday that we can't go for. . The ones

:34:22. > :34:24.that are being suggested in my ear at the moment, I shall not be

:34:25. > :34:28.repeating on television! Do keep those tweets and texts coming in

:34:29. > :34:35.because lots of them do make is last. -- laugh.

:34:36. > :34:42.The gold medal match on BBC One in the hockey. We may just have ruined

:34:43. > :34:46.it for you. You can switch over because Team GB were leading but the

:34:47. > :34:51.Netherlands came back and levelled it up about five minutes ago and now

:34:52. > :34:55.they are to either one up. They are the top ranked team in the world at

:34:56. > :35:00.the moment so if you switch over to BBC One now, you can watch the

:35:01. > :35:05.remainder of that. On BBC Four, another great gold medal match and

:35:06. > :35:09.this is Sweden taking on Germany in the women's gold medal match. It

:35:10. > :35:19.just started a few moments ago in the Maracana. It is a fantastic

:35:20. > :35:26.stadium, it was a stadium for the World Cup. Tonight, Sweden take on

:35:27. > :35:34.Germany. Sweden saw off USA, the hosts, Brazil, penalty shoot outs.

:35:35. > :35:37.Brazil are in the men's finals. We will join Sue Smith and first up,

:35:38. > :35:49.Nigel Adley. COMMENTATOR: Sweden have made a

:35:50. > :36:02.positive start to this game. Germany don't deal with the corner. Here is

:36:03. > :36:10.a slightly once again. Our Canadian referee allows play to go on. We

:36:11. > :36:15.were surprised to see Sweden start this game on the front foot. Yes,

:36:16. > :36:19.and they started pressurising when Germany got the ball. But as soon as

:36:20. > :36:26.Germany get the ball, they drop back into that formation, that 451,

:36:27. > :36:30.making it difficult for Germany to break them down. They had a couple

:36:31. > :36:47.of corners and were quite unlucky. Behringer has won Germany's first

:36:48. > :36:55.corner. Both these nations looking for their first Olympic gold medal

:36:56. > :37:03.in the women's football. Germany have won everything apart from this.

:37:04. > :37:17.Behringer's corner high into the penalty area. Bartusiak rises but is

:37:18. > :37:25.off-balance and as a result, off target. Lyndal of Chelsea. She saved

:37:26. > :37:33.two penalties in the shoot out against Brazil. I read a few

:37:34. > :37:41.interviews with Lindahl and she said how she loves penalties. Goalkeepers

:37:42. > :37:44.are either the hero or... They are never the villain, they are always

:37:45. > :37:51.the hero, expected to save the penalties. Samuel sun and good pace

:37:52. > :38:03.from the full-back. Everyone assumed Sweden were going

:38:04. > :38:07.to be ultra-defensive but at that moment, they are attacking. When

:38:08. > :38:11.they get the ball, they do attack in numbers but when they don't have the

:38:12. > :38:16.ball, they retreat into that formation. I think the German two

:38:17. > :38:20.centre halves, are not that quick so if you have pace in behind, that is

:38:21. > :38:33.wherewith they will get at Germany. A very busy arena. The Cornick is

:38:34. > :38:44.deep. Flicked away by Mittag. Samuelson. Fischer is waiting.

:38:45. > :39:04.That is a strong header from Crahn and it needed to be.

:39:05. > :39:15.She pulls it back and a really good chance. A massive opportunity for

:39:16. > :39:20.Sweden. They have to score. What a run. Just into the channels, it is

:39:21. > :39:33.what she does so well. Plays on the back shoulder and she finds the

:39:34. > :39:39.past, she has to do better there. You don't get many chances against

:39:40. > :39:42.Germany and you have to take them. Germany have won the last nine

:39:43. > :39:52.competitive meetings between these two.

:39:53. > :40:04.The flag is up this time. Jacobsen. Two of the greatest managers in

:40:05. > :40:06.women's football history and Jacobsen might have had a point

:40:07. > :40:21.there with a look towards the assistant.

:40:22. > :40:29.Sylvia Neid in her final match in charge of Germany before being moved

:40:30. > :40:33.upstairs or moving upstairs. She has won everything as a coach except a

:40:34. > :40:55.gold medal. The two coaches are friends but also rivals. Bartusiak.

:40:56. > :41:10.Sweden dropping very deep. Krahn trying to compress the space on the

:41:11. > :41:19.edge of the area. Bartusiak. That is a good ball. Leopold 's and the

:41:20. > :41:25.goalkeeper, Lindahl, having praised her, she made a hash of that and she

:41:26. > :41:30.got away with it. She was in two minds, whether the calm or stay but

:41:31. > :41:39.thankfully for her, nothing came of it. This is what Germany do so well,

:41:40. > :41:46.this touch. Germany will move the ball quickly. They will create

:41:47. > :41:55.openings. She took our eye off the ball there. She was very fortunate

:41:56. > :42:01.no one was coming in behind. Another really good crowd inside the

:42:02. > :42:05.Maracana. Mittag I think had been fouled and as a result wasn't in the

:42:06. > :42:16.position to pick up that ball. Quickly played forward. Jacobsen is

:42:17. > :42:21.flagged offside once again. You can see what she's trying to do the

:42:22. > :42:29.time. She was offside that time. Could have been in line. Germany

:42:30. > :42:52.need to be aware of that. Germany started this competition

:42:53. > :42:57.very slowly. They had to come from two goals down to draw against

:42:58. > :43:01.Australia and then they were beaten by Canada. But they often improve,

:43:02. > :43:05.the longer tournaments go on and that has been the case. Solid

:43:06. > :43:16.victories over both China and then Canada in the semifinals. Looking at

:43:17. > :43:20.Sweden's record, in terms of goals scored and heavy entertainment, it

:43:21. > :43:24.has been very poor. South Africa, the only side they have beaten in

:43:25. > :43:28.open play and that was 1-0 in their first game. They were then hammered

:43:29. > :43:41.by Brazil but that was the turning point in many ways because Pia

:43:42. > :43:45.Sundhage made a decision and tighten things up and as a result, they are

:43:46. > :43:50.in the final. That is the reason they are in the final because they

:43:51. > :43:54.change their tactics. They can't go and attacked like they used to and

:43:55. > :44:00.she looked at what they were good at and that is defensive. Not the great

:44:01. > :44:06.game to watch but if you reach the medals, then anyone can do that.

:44:07. > :44:10.That is the point she was making time after time in the press

:44:11. > :44:13.conference yesterday. She said her only responsibility is to win which

:44:14. > :44:19.might not be what the purists want to hear. In a few years' time,

:44:20. > :44:24.nobody would say, how did Sweden win a medal? It would just be that they

:44:25. > :44:41.won a medal. You have to played your strengths and that is she's doing.

:44:42. > :44:49.70,000 inside the stadium for Brazil's semifinal. Maybe not quite

:44:50. > :44:56.as many as that her the night but still a very good crowd. 40,000 saw

:44:57. > :45:01.the third-place play-off for the bronze medal in Sao Paulo earlier

:45:02. > :45:04.today, when Canada beat Brazil 2-0. From that point of view, it has been

:45:05. > :45:15.a very good tournament for women's football. The whistle has gone. Good

:45:16. > :45:16.play from Germany, that is how they can exploit Sweden, they have to

:45:17. > :45:27.find as little spaces in between. Then it is the first and second

:45:28. > :45:33.ball. It was marginal offside she was given four. Plenty of German

:45:34. > :45:40.support inside the stadium. Of course, the men won the World Cup

:45:41. > :45:44.here, two years ago. And their Olympic team will be here tomorrow

:45:45. > :45:59.night to face Brazil in what should be a terrific occasion.

:46:00. > :46:10.Silvia Neid has not seen her team quite settle down yet. Pia Sundhage

:46:11. > :46:20.rarely leaves the bench during the game. Rubensson.

:46:21. > :46:28.Cut out initially by Keller but here is Jakobsson. The Germans are so

:46:29. > :46:30.good at recovering the ball and preventing the initial error

:46:31. > :46:51.becoming worse. Boehringer. Kemme. Bartusiak and Annike Krahn are both

:46:52. > :46:56.players who have won the European Championships and the World Cup.

:46:57. > :47:04.They need Olympic gold just to complete the set. Bartusiak again.

:47:05. > :47:07.Leupolz. It is Lotta Schelin, who did so much running in the

:47:08. > :47:14.semifinal, back there defending once again. Now Seger. Jakobsson. She

:47:15. > :47:22.just needs to hold her run. She has got the pace. She's probably saying

:47:23. > :47:26.she wants it a bit sooner, but she has got the pace on the two centre

:47:27. > :47:32.halves and she can curve the run and stay onside. She now plays with

:47:33. > :47:44.Montpellier in France after a spell at Chelsea. Annike Krahn.

:47:45. > :47:54.Every single Swedish player is back inside their own half once again.

:47:55. > :48:01.Mittag! Welcomer Lindell's handling was not faultless once again but she

:48:02. > :48:05.got the job done. -- well, Hedvig Lindahl's. If I was a German, I

:48:06. > :48:09.would be thinking I had to follow everything up just in case she

:48:10. > :48:17.fumbles again. Again, they are limiting Germany two shots outside

:48:18. > :48:25.the box. Quite happy with that. -- to shots. Sweden have only managed

:48:26. > :48:33.three goals in the tournament so far. They were also the lowest

:48:34. > :48:36.scorers in the qualifying tournament to reach the Olympics, once it

:48:37. > :48:48.became clear that Great Britain would not be entering a team.

:48:49. > :48:56.Asllani. Dahlkvist. Schelin curves her run and the goalkeeper has to

:48:57. > :49:01.improvise. Brilliant from Schult. I think she realised where she was on

:49:02. > :49:05.the pitch and great defending. Great header, any defender would be proud

:49:06. > :49:10.of that. It is the kind of thing we see Manuel Neuer do for the German

:49:11. > :49:15.men's team. He has been watching, I think. Well, Schult had to be very

:49:16. > :49:25.patient for her opportunity, spent many years watching Ankara in the

:49:26. > :49:28.German goal. -- Anja Rau. There is a sense of evolution about this team

:49:29. > :49:29.following the World Cup when of course, they lost to England in the

:49:30. > :49:39.third-place game. Beringer. She may get in behind Samuelsson,

:49:40. > :50:02.who recovered well. Tabea Kemme will take the throne.

:50:03. > :50:10.And already, it has the look of a very tight game. Kemme, that is a

:50:11. > :50:16.good ball! That was a really good chance, Leupolz knows she should

:50:17. > :50:19.have done better. She should have done better, fantastic ball, whipped

:50:20. > :50:24.in with pace. I think she just mistimed her run. You can see she

:50:25. > :50:28.was hanging in the air for a while. Heading it on the way down. Could

:50:29. > :50:43.not get over the ball to direct it. Well, already, we have seen

:50:44. > :50:53.clear-cut chances for both teams. Leupolz, who plays for the reigning

:50:54. > :50:58.German champions, Bayern Munich. She will be disappointed, there. Given

:50:59. > :51:03.away by Seger. Mittag, whose has scored so many important goals in

:51:04. > :51:07.major tournaments. -- who has. She has forced the corner this time,

:51:08. > :51:12.Rubensson with the challenge. She is a key player, Mittag, she will get

:51:13. > :51:13.the ball and run at defenders, a real playmaker. Very versatile, can

:51:14. > :51:34.play anywhere. Behringer, who has had such a good

:51:35. > :51:46.tournament, will take the corner. Popp is one of the targets. Kemme.

:51:47. > :51:51.Oh, a nutmeg on Jakobsson. Now, she can attack the penalty area but her

:51:52. > :51:57.finish, there was not as good as the one she produced in the semifinal.

:51:58. > :52:01.There is a yellow card for Jakobsson. That was for the late

:52:02. > :52:06.challenge, I think after the nutmegs. I think it was a coming

:52:07. > :52:10.together of legs. Quite a harsh yellow card but Daebritz goes in and

:52:11. > :52:15.she has got every right to have a go. This is the challenge again. I

:52:16. > :52:21.think she was just going for the ball and completely mistimed.

:52:22. > :52:37.Fischer. Jakobsson, now on the chase at the other end. In fact, Olivia

:52:38. > :52:47.showed just collides with Bartusiak. -- Olivia -- Olivia Schough.

:52:48. > :52:54.Confirmation of the yellow card. Jabbing towards the assistant

:52:55. > :52:56.referee -- chirping at the assistant referee would probably not have

:52:57. > :53:14.helped her cause either. No! Marozsan beaten to it. Germany will

:53:15. > :53:23.be patient. However long it takes, this evening. Marozsan. Just beyond

:53:24. > :53:29.Daebritz. Jakobsson helps it forward towards Olivia Schough. In a foot

:53:30. > :53:36.race, she would fancy herself against either Annike Krahn or

:53:37. > :53:41.Bartusiak. Away from Jakobsson, Kemme, who knew she could not make

:53:42. > :53:44.the challenge. It is a goal kick in the end. The German full-backs like

:53:45. > :53:53.to get forward and make those overlapping runs, but Cani -- Kemme

:53:54. > :53:56.over kicked the last one of the surge forward but that is where

:53:57. > :54:02.Sweden can get a Germany because both full-backs like to get forward,

:54:03. > :54:05.there is space out wide. On that counterattack, in the midfield

:54:06. > :54:19.runners can get into those diagonal positions. There could be a chance.

:54:20. > :54:25.Mittag. Behringer. Leupolz. That is a terrific run, Hedvig Lindahl makes

:54:26. > :54:33.the save and Mittag misses an absolute sitter! You very rarely say

:54:34. > :54:36.that Germany missed sitters and they have missed two in this game

:54:37. > :54:40.already. I said you have do follow-up because Hedvig Lindahl has

:54:41. > :54:46.not looked confident. She has been spilling them and Mittag... Open

:54:47. > :54:47.goal. Her level of ability, you would expect her to score from

:54:48. > :55:03.there. Maier. Marozsan. Well, Germany usually punish teams

:55:04. > :55:07.who make any kind of error like that but twice now, they have allowed

:55:08. > :55:11.Sweden off the hook. They really have an because Sweden defence so

:55:12. > :55:14.deep, those chances, you have to make sure you score them. Brazil got

:55:15. > :55:17.frustrated because they could not find the final pass and the final

:55:18. > :55:20.shot. Germany have got themselves into that position and missed two

:55:21. > :55:27.good opportunities. Krahn will get there before

:55:28. > :55:43.Jakobsson. Sweden have ridden their luck so

:55:44. > :55:49.far. Is this just their year? Who knows?

:55:50. > :55:55.She has not really got in the game so far, Asllani, a similar sort of

:55:56. > :56:03.story to what we saw in the semifinal against Brazil. Marozsan.

:56:04. > :56:13.Daebritz. Mittag was lurking, but Fischer was able to clear. Schelin.

:56:14. > :56:28.Given the ball away. Kemme. Leupolz does well to try and find Behringer.

:56:29. > :56:31.There is still a buzz around the stadium following that miss from

:56:32. > :57:14.Mittag. Schelin, doing so much work. She

:57:15. > :57:18.works tirelessly for her team. Much better centrally. She is prepared to

:57:19. > :57:23.play out wide. Do that defending role.

:57:24. > :57:39.Maier. Marozsan. If she is given the room, she will call Sweden problems

:57:40. > :57:43.but on that occasion, the past has only presented Seger with an

:57:44. > :57:48.opportunity and here is Schelin. Jakobsson in support. Schelin goes

:57:49. > :57:53.for goal but always rising. Good break from Sweden, though. On the

:57:54. > :57:59.counterattack, they have pace to get forward. You can see, it is just a

:58:00. > :58:04.ball out wide and Schelin has made the run, burst forward, just a

:58:05. > :58:09.couple of touches, done exactly what she needs to do by just leaning back

:58:10. > :58:19.on the shot. They are showing glimpses. Don't forget, plenty

:58:20. > :58:23.happening elsewhere this evening. On the Red Button now, coverage of Tom

:58:24. > :58:29.Daley in the diving, the preliminaries of the ten metre

:58:30. > :58:33.competition and over on BBC One, it is the gold medal match for Great

:58:34. > :58:41.Britain's women in the hockey against the Netherlands.

:58:42. > :58:50.And of course, if we remained goalless, here, it will go all the

:58:51. > :58:56.way to a penalty shoot out bar extra time if needed. Schelin wins a

:58:57. > :59:02.corner. She is just lurking down the right-hand side and Germany can't

:59:03. > :59:05.afford to ignore her. No, I think she's trying to push Kemme back

:59:06. > :59:09.because she knows how she likes to get forward, keep the full-backs

:59:10. > :59:20.there. Like I said, that is where the space will be. -- will be, for

:59:21. > :59:27.Sweden. Asllani is over the corner. Her delivery so far in the

:59:28. > :59:32.competition has not been great. Particularly with all the height

:59:33. > :59:40.waiting but that is a good delivery, Fischer was arriving. Leupolz is

:59:41. > :59:44.able to clear. Samuelsson. First time this time from Asllani and she

:59:45. > :59:58.may get another opportunity. Maier with the clearance.

:59:59. > :00:07.developing into a very attritional struggle.

:00:08. > :00:15.Sweden, dominating the corner count. Deeper this time from Asllani. Seger

:00:16. > :00:17.was waiting. Dahlkvist
