:01:15. > :01:19.Peaty is up with them. A very good start from him. Also good against
:01:20. > :01:26.the world record-holder from South Africa. The best reaction to the gun
:01:27. > :01:32.in the field. Adam Peaty streaking ahead. He is on the world record. A
:01:33. > :01:41.great first leg. Adam Peaty, beating the world-record. He is 0.08 ahead
:01:42. > :01:47.of it. You can see he is a body length ahead. He is streaking ahead.
:01:48. > :01:52.25 metres to go when he hits the red Lane. This is quite extraordinary.
:01:53. > :01:55.Absolutely phenomenal from Great Britain's Adam Peaty. Oceans of
:01:56. > :02:00.clear blue water between Adam Peaty and the rest of the world. He is
:02:01. > :02:03.bringing it home, this is utterly brilliant, absolutely fantastic.
:02:04. > :02:07.Adam Peaty takes Olympic gold for Great Britain by an absolute
:02:08. > :02:14.streets. A wonderful world record, oh, my goodness me.
:02:15. > :02:19.Nothing like a bit of history to start your working week. Happy
:02:20. > :02:23.Monday. If you were not at 3am this morning, you may not have seen Adam
:02:24. > :02:27.Peaty making history in the Olympic Aquatic Centre last night. He became
:02:28. > :02:33.the first male British swimmer to win Olympic gold since 1988 in a new
:02:34. > :02:39.world-record time in the 100 meter breaststroke. It simply stunning. We
:02:40. > :02:43.have changed our scenery here on BBC Four. We are inside the Maria Lenk
:02:44. > :02:47.Aquatics Centre, named after the legendary Brazilian swimmer who
:02:48. > :02:52.became the first Brazilian woman to compete at the summit games in Los
:02:53. > :02:57.Angeles back in 1932. We have seen some legendary swimming in the last
:02:58. > :03:00.12 hours or so. Not least because Adam Peaty kicked off Great
:03:01. > :03:06.Britain's Gold rush in that 100 meter breast drug vinyl, but minutes
:03:07. > :03:10.later, Jazz doubled the Great Britain tally, winning silver in a
:03:11. > :03:14.400 meter freestyle last night. We are up and running. No swimming
:03:15. > :03:18.taking place in this arena. That happens on the other Aquatic Centre
:03:19. > :03:22.Dan at the other end of the park. But Mark your card, because tonight
:03:23. > :03:26.we will see Tom Daley taking to the ten metre platform in the
:03:27. > :03:32.synchronised diving alongside Daniel Goodfellow. That will take place
:03:33. > :03:36.probably, most likely, on BBC One tonight, your time. Tom Daley in
:03:37. > :03:40.action for the very first time on BBC One this evening. That is all to
:03:41. > :03:41.come. Here's what we have on the programme here on BBC Four this
:03:42. > :03:53.afternoon. We are kicking off with water polo.
:03:54. > :03:59.We will see the world champions, Serbia, taking on Greece, here in
:04:00. > :04:03.the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre. We will then take you to Deodoro
:04:04. > :04:06.because the women's hockey competition will see three times
:04:07. > :04:15.Olympic champions Australia take on the USA. David Florence had a good
:04:16. > :04:18.day of things in the canoe slalom. Yesterday, he doubles up in the sea
:04:19. > :04:26.to alongside his partner Richard Hounslow. Then we have some table
:04:27. > :04:36.tennis, Great Britain in action in this one. Got through his first two
:04:37. > :04:39.rounds yesterday. Then we take to the equestrian Centre, also down at
:04:40. > :04:48.Deodoro. Great Britain and William Fox-Pitt in the cross-country. The
:04:49. > :04:49.second event of the three-day event. Here is how your afternoon looks on
:04:50. > :05:18.day three. Meanwhile, over on BBC One right
:05:19. > :05:22.now, if you want to see rowing, you were start of it yesterday, we have
:05:23. > :05:26.the heat is taking place all day. We will see later on Heather Stanning
:05:27. > :05:30.and Helen Glover, the world champions, raining European
:05:31. > :05:36.champions and Olympic champions in action. That will be on BBC One
:05:37. > :05:39.later on. Next on BBC One, we have the equestrian late on our
:05:40. > :05:45.programme, but if you want to see it, they will kick it off on BBC
:05:46. > :05:48.One. Day two of the eventing. We will see the cross-country, William
:05:49. > :05:51.Fox-Pitt is leading in the individual. The Great Britain team
:05:52. > :06:23.are well placed, fourth in the team event.
:06:24. > :06:28.He's a superstar of world gymnastics, Max Whitlock, and he
:06:29. > :06:33.will be leading the Great Britain team in the team final tonight. You
:06:34. > :06:37.will see 8pm. They qualified as the fifth best nation after team
:06:38. > :06:41.qualification, but after Olympic bronze back in 2012, after world
:06:42. > :06:46.silver in silver in 2015 in Glasgow, the great British boys are prepared
:06:47. > :06:51.to take their place on the podium tonight. 8pm you will see that. We
:06:52. > :06:55.will kick off here in the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre with the men's water
:06:56. > :06:58.polo and the competition is starting to hot up. There are a view
:06:59. > :07:01.potential winners of this competition, but before we see the
:07:02. > :07:14.contenders, here is a guide to water polo. Water polo has been an Olympic
:07:15. > :07:18.sport since 1900 in Paris. There are seven players in a team, six
:07:19. > :07:23.so-called outfield players and a goalkeeper. They are allowed six
:07:24. > :07:26.reserves and unlimited substitutions. Substitutes are
:07:27. > :07:29.crucial because of the gruelling nature of the sport. The players are
:07:30. > :07:33.not allowed to touch the bottom of the pool at any point during a
:07:34. > :07:37.match. The best way to stay upright and ready is to keep the legs moving
:07:38. > :07:41.alternately backwards and forwards in what is known as the eggbeater
:07:42. > :07:46.motion. There are two important lines in water polo. The two metre
:07:47. > :07:49.line and the five metre line. The two metre line is two metres from
:07:50. > :07:52.the goal and the attacking team are not allowed to pass this line unless
:07:53. > :07:56.they have possession of the ball or the ball is already in that area. If
:07:57. > :08:01.an attacking player is fouled within five metres of the goal, the referee
:08:02. > :08:04.can award a penalty shot from the five metre line. If a file is
:08:05. > :08:11.committed further out than five metres, a free throw is awarded.
:08:12. > :08:14.Goalkeepers are allowed to use two hands in play, but outfield players
:08:15. > :08:20.can only use one hand at the time. The game is split into four quarters
:08:21. > :08:26.of eight minutes. A game usually lasts for over one hour because it
:08:27. > :08:31.is stopped and started regularly. The two teams begin lying on the
:08:32. > :08:35.goal-line and when the blows their whistle, the teams spread to the
:08:36. > :08:39.ball. A shot clock controls the time for shooting, because when in
:08:40. > :08:46.possession, teams only have 30 seconds to shoot at goal. And
:08:47. > :08:50.joining us appear on the platform to enjoy the first water polo action of
:08:51. > :08:55.the day, our friend Ollie Williams. Good afternoon. Afternoon. I have
:08:56. > :09:00.gone for the splash-proof option, but you are ready to take the hit.
:09:01. > :09:06.Take the hit, take the heat. It is not bad. I am well overdressed. You
:09:07. > :09:09.came to me earlier and you almost were rubbing your thighs in
:09:10. > :09:15.anticipation of another day of water polo action. You love the sport. How
:09:16. > :09:21.can you not? We will get to it in a second. This is a fantastic matchup,
:09:22. > :09:25.Serbia against Greece. We have seen Hungary, who are the most storeyed
:09:26. > :09:30.historic team in water polo, play Serbia two days ago. 13-13 draw,
:09:31. > :09:34.fantastic contest between those two. This was Serbia this morning, Serbia
:09:35. > :09:38.have won everything since London 2012, when they didn't. This was
:09:39. > :09:41.Serbia this morning will be their biggest group stage test left before
:09:42. > :09:44.the knockout stage. They need to start winning because draws will not
:09:45. > :09:50.cut it for the knockout stages. They have to beat Greece. That is right.
:09:51. > :09:54.There are a few contenders for the gold medal. Of course Serbia have
:09:55. > :09:57.won everything pretty much. Hungary with their history. Croatia are
:09:58. > :10:03.Olympic champions. Italy, Greece. It is a wide-open and competitive
:10:04. > :10:07.competition. Greece are the world bronze medallists. They are not that
:10:08. > :10:10.far off being the best in the world, they just haven't done it yet.
:10:11. > :10:14.Because as they got was at their home Olympics in 2004, in Athens.
:10:15. > :10:17.They finished fourth, lost to the Russians for the bronze. In that
:10:18. > :10:23.Olympics, the Serbia coach who we will see this morning, this
:10:24. > :10:26.afternoon, he was playing for the Serbia team. They finished with
:10:27. > :10:29.silver, that is the best they have done. We are looking at two teams
:10:30. > :10:34.who have never won an Olympic gold, but both feel they have a chance. It
:10:35. > :10:41.is a competitive group. Let's see how the competition is set up right
:10:42. > :10:46.now. The top four will move into the quarterfinals from each group. It is
:10:47. > :10:52.no good for Serbia to take draws at this stage. They need to get back up
:10:53. > :10:56.the group to qualify in the best position for the knockouts. The
:10:57. > :11:00.Serbian coach said, that the Serbian media back home are ready to cut our
:11:01. > :11:03.heads off if we don't win this Olympic gold medal. That is pressure
:11:04. > :11:09.when you are out there. Something to think about on the starting line.
:11:10. > :11:13.Not too much at all. We are expecting Serbia to qualify pretty
:11:14. > :11:16.easily, but let's go and see exactly how this one is going to set up. We
:11:17. > :11:23.are ready for Serbia against Greece in group A. It is two points for a
:11:24. > :11:28.win, one point for a draw, but Serbia, draws are no good just now.
:11:29. > :11:46.Let's get inside and join our commentator for the first quarter.
:11:47. > :11:50.COMMENTATOR: And underway, the opening sprint for possession. In
:11:51. > :11:56.the blue Cats, it will be the Greeks. Swimming away, but the shot
:11:57. > :12:02.high above that, elevated, just a great look at what goes on inside
:12:03. > :12:13.will stop the police 30 metres by 20 metres. -- the pool is. It will be
:12:14. > :12:22.the Serbians who will take the opening possession.
:12:23. > :12:27.The ball must be preceding the offensive player, but it is an
:12:28. > :12:40.exclusion against the Greeks. Can the Serbians utilise the
:12:41. > :12:44.advantage? You would anticipate a shot coming when they are in the
:12:45. > :12:50.golden position at that five metre line.
:12:51. > :13:05.The shot first, but the anticipation was great from the Greeks. The
:13:06. > :13:24.Serbian approached looked a little hesitant -- the Serbian approach.
:13:25. > :13:29.The Greeks really need to work quickly to take advantage. 30
:13:30. > :13:34.seconds in total from getting possession. This has led to a
:13:35. > :13:50.penalty shot coming for the Greeks. Fountoulis, the 28-year-old, starts
:13:51. > :13:59.the Greek account. A little untidy from the Serbians in their first
:14:00. > :14:06.offensive formation. Going back and getting that ball, and you see
:14:07. > :14:12.sometimes there is much confusion. You have too expected, but that is a
:14:13. > :14:24.great finish. Fountoulis really made short work of that opportunity.
:14:25. > :14:33.Difficult to know where the call from the whistle is being directed.
:14:34. > :14:34.It is blown quickly and repeatedly. You are focused on your one-on-one
:14:35. > :14:58.battle in the pool area. Often, just the tap on, the
:14:59. > :15:06.redirection, that is a clever attempt from Serbia. The rapid
:15:07. > :15:09.redirect is not elusive enough. The Greeks are able to control it and
:15:10. > :15:15.take another chance to increase their margin.
:15:16. > :15:28.The Serbians are down a man. By the time you get to the sin bin, your
:15:29. > :15:39.time is up. The Greeks are enjoying the wind at their back thus far.
:15:40. > :15:48.Twice now Mitrovic has been beaten. Off the post again. The final touch
:15:49. > :16:03.taken by Kyriakos Pontikeas. How about that. Just being in the match
:16:04. > :16:08.for 30 seconds. A lot of the gamesmanship outside the five metre
:16:09. > :16:13.line. If they win a foul, they get a chance at a direct shot, should they
:16:14. > :16:24.wish to take it. They do take it. It goes off the crossbar. It was enough
:16:25. > :16:35.for Milan Aleksic to take a chance at goal. There is no favour given.
:16:36. > :16:43.The crossbar is square. It is as much going to go off and out as it
:16:44. > :16:55.is going to do the opposite. It has worked for the Greeks. Not to be for
:16:56. > :17:00.the Serbians. The anticipation. Again, right on the mark. He has
:17:01. > :17:21.just done enough. It does not seem to matter where it
:17:22. > :17:26.will come from. Konstantinos Flegkas is on the money. He sees it will go
:17:27. > :17:27.to the short side and he reads it comfortably. He controls the
:17:28. > :17:34.rebound. It is slow and steady again. The
:17:35. > :18:11.Greeks have been clinical thus far. They are craving the first goal in
:18:12. > :18:18.this match. It does not matter at what level the score is, how tight
:18:19. > :18:28.the match is. Offence and confident feed each other. A lofted effort.
:18:29. > :18:32.Not a bad idea, trying to see if Konstantinos Flegkas was too far
:18:33. > :18:35.away from his goal-line. You need confidence to score, and then
:18:36. > :18:49.scoring feeds the confidence. The second count down so quickly.
:18:50. > :19:14.High over the bar. Mitrovic was anxious. He sees it go
:19:15. > :19:21.beyond. Greece are a long way from threatening from this distance. All
:19:22. > :19:32.of this work going on amongst these battles. Isolated all around the
:19:33. > :19:38.Serbian half. Greece are as far away as they want to be to take a shot of
:19:39. > :19:45.any sort of threatening nature. They will throw it to an area. Serbia
:19:46. > :19:53.will have to swim for it. The clock starts as soon as they touch it.
:19:54. > :20:01.They have arrived in a better position. Still awaiting the crucial
:20:02. > :20:07.first opening goal. The defender over at the back. Will this lead to
:20:08. > :20:19.a penalty throw opportunity? It is a free throw. You sense it will come,
:20:20. > :20:29.it is just a matter of when. Of the bar. Not sure if it was Konstantinos
:20:30. > :20:33.Flegkas that got a piece of it, or whether it was the crossbar. A
:20:34. > :20:39.better angle from that position to see. It looked like it went off
:20:40. > :20:43.because bar, but he might as well be across the whole goal face right
:20:44. > :20:50.now. He is doing his job with a clean sheet for the Greeks.
:20:51. > :21:00.Outstanding work. They have given it up again, though. They will have to
:21:01. > :21:11.work hard to continue to maintain this offensive poise. This is a real
:21:12. > :21:22.danger man for the Serbians. An outstanding tournament thus far. He
:21:23. > :21:31.gets the redirection. It has worked out well this time for the Serbians.
:21:32. > :21:40.A resigned frustration. Filip Filipovic gets credit for the gol. A
:21:41. > :21:45.bit of luck. They needed that. It may not have been as intended, but
:21:46. > :21:48.what a shot. You see Filip Filipovic just as relieved, getting the first
:21:49. > :22:00.goal of the match for his nation. He will come out. He has got such a
:22:01. > :22:17.powerful throwing left arm. He would have anticipated he was the
:22:18. > :22:26.guy Serbia would go to to get things going for them in this particular
:22:27. > :22:34.match. It will be his fourth field goal in the tournament so far. A
:22:35. > :22:40.chance for a reflection from both teams, the time-out has been called.
:22:41. > :22:52.The Serbians happy to receive instructions from a distance.
:22:53. > :23:02.This is the Greek coach. Chatting with his side.
:23:03. > :23:10.Very much a player 's' coach. He saw the scenes of him in the water
:23:11. > :23:17.celebrating the qualification victory in the World Championships
:23:18. > :23:22.in 2015. Right now he has got his team poised in a great position in
:23:23. > :23:32.their second match, day three of these Olympics. They are performing
:23:33. > :23:47.entirely to plan. They are in the blue caps.
:23:48. > :24:00.That will not be enough to force Mitrovic. He smothers it down. He
:24:01. > :24:06.looks a bit anxious to make certain he has got control of that. He has
:24:07. > :24:13.been beaten twice. Can Serbia, out of the first TV at level and shorten
:24:14. > :24:24.this game and turn it into a 24 minute encounter? They need to make
:24:25. > :24:30.work quick. It has been turned over. Just looking to see what the
:24:31. > :24:35.officials have called. The second slip away. That is where it will
:24:36. > :24:39.rest after the first eight minutes of play in this group match in the
:24:40. > :24:51.men's preliminary round of the water polo. Greece have the early lead.
:24:52. > :24:55.Serbia are potential Olympic hopefuls.
:24:56. > :25:09.Greece will be happy with that start. They are picking up off the
:25:10. > :25:12.win against Japan, 8-7. Very happy, confident. Serbia don't need to
:25:13. > :25:19.worry, we are only a quarter of the way through. They can come back,
:25:20. > :25:23.they did so against Hungary. Greece are a lesser prospect. I don't think
:25:24. > :25:26.Serbia will be too panicked, they are still in touch. Greece are
:25:27. > :25:34.partly they're down to their goalkeeper. Goalkeeping is a huge
:25:35. > :25:35.part of this, Serbia changed goalkeepers during the opening draw
:25:36. > :25:45.against Hungary. Serbia switched the goalkeeper,
:25:46. > :25:49.because the reactions you have to have and the finest of touches can
:25:50. > :25:53.make a big difference. Especially from close range, it is tough to do
:25:54. > :26:00.that. The goalkeeper is the only player who can use both hands on the
:26:01. > :26:05.ball inside the area. The lightning reflexes and strength you have to
:26:06. > :26:09.have our crucial. The goalkeepers are the ones with the identifiable
:26:10. > :26:15.red Caps. The Greeks with the blue caps, the Serbians with the white.
:26:16. > :26:33.Lets to be second quarter, another eight minutes.
:26:34. > :26:47.The whistle is blown. The flurry of splashing to get to the loose ball.
:26:48. > :26:59.The Greeks have found a way. Trying to protect it.
:27:00. > :27:09.The settled half Paul offence from Greece. They could slotted into a
:27:10. > :27:15.good, purposeful location. They had the one penalty throw, they
:27:16. > :27:24.converted. And then the well taken shot, in off the right post. Those
:27:25. > :27:29.were their two goals. The officials right on it, as always. It is such a
:27:30. > :27:33.difficult call in this sport to see exactly what goes on above and below
:27:34. > :27:46.the water. The Serbians have not found a rhythm
:27:47. > :27:58.yet offensively. It looks a little starchy. A little reticent. Who is
:27:59. > :28:10.wanting to take the shot? The Greeks are happy to take possession. The
:28:11. > :28:21.passionate Thodoris Vlachos giving his thoughts.
:28:22. > :28:30.It will be difficult, to try to win a match at this level. The pressure
:28:31. > :28:39.is on Serbia, without a doubt. They have been tipped as the favourites.
:28:40. > :28:46.They will not need a second invitation. It was the goal frame
:28:47. > :28:53.more than anything. Though the save is there. I did not quite give the
:28:54. > :29:00.credit that was deserved on first looking at it. You see the left-hand
:29:01. > :29:10.comes across. It is an important save. It comes at a key time. It
:29:11. > :29:15.goes off the post one more time. He is everywhere in the Greek goal,
:29:16. > :29:21.Konstantinos Flegkas. It is his tidy body control as much... He looks to
:29:22. > :29:25.rise out of the water to take away the top half of the net, but you
:29:26. > :29:34.have to spread wide at the same time and be under control.
:29:35. > :29:40.It is quickly taken, and quite a surprise element from the Greeks.
:29:41. > :29:50.Take your shots when you can. They have had that insert pass into the
:29:51. > :29:55.centre forward position. They like to take a shot from outside the five
:29:56. > :30:05.metre distance. The whistle-blowing. They will get a free throw.
:30:06. > :30:13.20 seconds on this shot clock for the Greeks. The flopping and
:30:14. > :30:25.flailing arms, water splashing, Serbians will sit down and take the
:30:26. > :30:40.exclusion. Into that sin bin area, still waiting to return to duty.
:30:41. > :30:51.Fountoulis stepped forward for the Greeks. Another example of all that
:30:52. > :30:57.work, but this was Fountoulis right through the heart of the Serbian
:30:58. > :31:04.defence. And just like that, they have reasserted that two goal margin
:31:05. > :31:14.again. A couple of goals already to his credit in this match from four
:31:15. > :31:21.shots taken. That takes him to 13 Olympic goals over the course of the
:31:22. > :31:31.two Olympic Games. This is his second, in Rio.
:31:32. > :31:36.Quite a measured approach, the Greeks look entirely on point,
:31:37. > :32:02.executing their game plan. Flegkas has made great work so far
:32:03. > :32:09.of all the shots coming in. When you try to be too fine, this is often
:32:10. > :32:15.the result. It had a tip off the defender but it hit the crossbar.
:32:16. > :32:20.This is a lot of pressure on the Serbians. The Greeks looking to take
:32:21. > :32:46.a three goal lead. Two major fouls already. Dervisis
:32:47. > :32:51.needs to be careful. All the hard work being done, and the Serbians
:32:52. > :32:57.now right back. They had the chance to do the business offensively, the
:32:58. > :33:01.Greeks, and is now a time-out taken by the Serbians. They need to
:33:02. > :33:14.pounce. This is one of those crucial moments and they have to execute.
:33:15. > :33:21.Savic knows it. A very proud contributor to men's water polo.
:33:22. > :33:27.Silver and bronze medallist respectively across the competitions
:33:28. > :33:51.in which he has taken part. Sydney, Athens and also in Beijing.
:33:52. > :33:55.The Serbians are prepared and ready. They have the opportunity, the extra
:33:56. > :34:13.man advantage. That was a little sloppily taken, in
:34:14. > :34:18.fairness, to the Serbians. Did not make the most of that potential
:34:19. > :34:33.possession and redirection. It was taken down too quickly. Flegkas was
:34:34. > :34:38.able to respond and smother it. Good idea, and a necessity of speed
:34:39. > :34:41.required from the Serbians approaching offensively, but they
:34:42. > :34:49.did not have the execution they needed. Their work continues. The
:34:50. > :34:52.inability of the Greeks has left a window of return possibility. This
:34:53. > :35:16.one could be returned right back. Flegkas is the man of the match so
:35:17. > :35:24.far, for my money. From outside, just the slightest of touches on it.
:35:25. > :35:32.It was Milos Cuk who took the shot for the Serbians. If they are
:35:33. > :35:37.serious about this, you get a sense that the Greeks have to do increase
:35:38. > :35:45.this lead. They have held the lead for the last three minutes or so,
:35:46. > :35:51.but they will want to increase it. Again, so much is assessed by the
:35:52. > :35:55.officials of the ball -- off of the ball. Just as you are poised to try
:35:56. > :36:16.to increase the lead, you are and then the defenders.
:36:17. > :36:23.The Greek goalkeeper will assess his options, scanning the pool. He has a
:36:24. > :36:31.lot of options that are not looking back to him. Save percentage, 80%,
:36:32. > :36:37.that is outstanding. Particularly against the opponents, the Serbians,
:36:38. > :36:41.who are favoured, potentially. You would not say that necessarily after
:36:42. > :36:51.what we have seen at these Rio Olympics so far. Another time-out is
:36:52. > :36:55.taken and Savic is trying to put his fingerprints on this match. Trying
:36:56. > :37:13.to jump-start his team with the best substitutions.
:37:14. > :37:19.Difficult thing to quantify, pressure, and particularly when they
:37:20. > :37:24.have been as successful as they have, the Serbians, in the last
:37:25. > :37:31.Olympic cycle. The holders of six of the seven major titles available in
:37:32. > :37:35.global men's water polo. There is always an element of complacency,
:37:36. > :37:38.and equally there is always an element of raising their game. The
:37:39. > :37:45.opposition who play against you, when you are top of the podium. It
:37:46. > :37:57.is always going to be a little bit extra that is going to come from any
:37:58. > :38:02.competitor you play. This is a proposition for the Greeks to take a
:38:03. > :38:03.3-goal advantage. They have been flirting with better for the last
:38:04. > :38:14.five minutes or so. Look at that finish there, they make
:38:15. > :38:24.a date with destiny inside the final minute of this first half. Look at
:38:25. > :38:31.that! Taken, as you might, it may not come back again. The struggle
:38:32. > :38:40.that goes on, it is divine. The finish is just as required.
:38:41. > :38:45.Vlachopoulos, well, well. How about the Greek men in the men's water
:38:46. > :38:56.polo? They are bringing the noise and they have put on the board four
:38:57. > :39:08.goals now. Only one for Serbia. This is a changing sense inside the Maria
:39:09. > :39:15.Lenk Aquatics Centre. Great goalkeeping so far from Flegkas. You
:39:16. > :39:22.get the sense he could be that good throughout the entire match.
:39:23. > :39:29.Operating at about 80%, those are really had numbers. -- heady
:39:30. > :39:45.numbers. The whistle is blown, Serbia still
:39:46. > :39:50.have it. Ten seconds counting down in this first half. They will need
:39:51. > :39:58.to be effective, it needs to be quick.
:39:59. > :40:07.And that is the end of the first 16 minutes of play. This is a little
:40:08. > :40:11.bit of an uncertain passage as to what to anticipate in the remainder
:40:12. > :40:16.of this one. An impressive start in this match on day three. The
:40:17. > :40:26.Serbians heavily favoured in these Olympics, they are down by four
:40:27. > :40:31.goals to one to Greece. ORE: We have a match on our hands.
:40:32. > :40:36.Greece extend their lead. We will join the second-half shortly. Said
:40:37. > :40:41.they didn't need to be worried before, now they will be more
:40:42. > :40:44.worried. Absolutely. This is the point where Serbia needed to do
:40:45. > :40:48.something pretty soon. By the time you are opening up a three or four
:40:49. > :40:55.goal lead, they have clawed lead back before, but you can't spent the
:40:56. > :40:58.whole of the game is coming back. If they really are at this great water
:40:59. > :41:02.polo side, this dynasty that has been formed, that we have been led
:41:03. > :41:08.to believe by their results of the last few years, they have to bring
:41:09. > :41:13.that now. What are Greece doing so well? They are scoring, it is as
:41:14. > :41:25.simple as that. When you look at the Greek forward line, particularly
:41:26. > :41:32.Ioannis Fountoulis. He plays for Olympia is. They have just done nine
:41:33. > :41:36.doubles in a row. He leads their line. He scored for Greece with 14
:41:37. > :41:40.goals at the last championships. He is doing exactly the same thing
:41:41. > :41:44.again, getting the ball in the back of the net. It sounds stupidly
:41:45. > :41:47.simple, but he is driving the Greek team forward in the way no one in
:41:48. > :41:55.the Serbian team is. In this next quarter, when we get to that, look
:41:56. > :42:01.out for Fountoulis in the number five cap. Fountoulis taking
:42:02. > :42:04.inspiration from Ali McCoist. What a day. We are going to pause on the
:42:05. > :42:16.water polo for a moment. We have plenty of action in the rowing.
:42:17. > :42:21.After the postponement of yesterday, we have the men's Drupal schools
:42:22. > :42:28.that visage. Great Britain 's men finishing second and going into the
:42:29. > :42:33.finals. The women's eight will be happy with their afternoon. Team GB
:42:34. > :42:38.won each to, qualifying second fastest of all the teams, just
:42:39. > :42:45.behind the USA, aiming for a third consecutive Olympic title. And great
:42:46. > :42:49.job, as well, for the men's eight. Huge history for them in this event.
:42:50. > :42:51.They won their heat and are in the final as the fastest team ahead of
:42:52. > :43:33.Germany. It's very nearly Tom Daley time. He
:43:34. > :43:37.will be taking to the synchro platform, ten metres, that's one
:43:38. > :43:45.just about behind myself and Ollie. I cannot believe it has been eight
:43:46. > :43:50.years since his Olympic dive as a 14-year-old. He will be happy with
:43:51. > :43:53.cloudy weather. That is what he said he wanted. He and Daniel Goodfellow
:43:54. > :43:58.have only been partners in synchro for eight or nine months. They are
:43:59. > :44:02.already European silver medallist. The cloud is perfect because you
:44:03. > :44:06.don't squint as much. On a sunny day, it is hard to pick up features
:44:07. > :44:12.as you are spinning and coming down. He says he doesn't mind if it rains,
:44:13. > :44:16.because his competitors won't be prepared. Being British, he won't
:44:17. > :44:21.mind the rain. It probably want happen. He wants to take on the
:44:22. > :44:26.weather will stop fighting talk from Tom Daley. That is from 8pm. We now
:44:27. > :44:31.head back inside the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre because we have a
:44:32. > :44:38.game on our hands. Serbia are down against Greece, 4-1.
:44:39. > :44:44.The Greeks, from right to left, in the blue caps. Serbia waiting on the
:44:45. > :44:56.left. It's almost as if it's on your
:44:57. > :45:02.marks, get set, and go, as the sprint for glory for possession,
:45:03. > :45:05.that is ultimately the king. The Greeks start this second-half as
:45:06. > :45:14.they finished the first, in pole position.
:45:15. > :45:20.Where will be first offensive look come from? It is as much about
:45:21. > :45:24.trying to increase your lead as about turning it over cheaply and
:45:25. > :45:30.giving the opposition a chance to manage the game and have the ball in
:45:31. > :45:38.their grasp. This is a sensible approach from the Greeks. They get
:45:39. > :45:50.it back. What a fortunate bounce. They will take it. It is in. Off the
:45:51. > :45:59.post. In the top of goal. They are lethal, and so is Ioannis
:46:00. > :46:07.Fountoulis. That is gorgeous water polo from the Greek men.
:46:08. > :46:22.Precision. And timing. The two come together, and that is the result.
:46:23. > :46:28.Ioannis Fountoulis scores again. A hat-trick already in this match.
:46:29. > :46:41.Adding to his tally. 14 overall in the Olympics. That may be one of his
:46:42. > :46:52.most memorable. This is going to get difficult for
:46:53. > :47:00.Serbia, they must keep the match in check. They have given it up. Greek
:47:01. > :47:07.look like the Poseidon of the Paul now.
:47:08. > :47:15.They look a bit snake bitten, Serbia. Not entirely as a deer in
:47:16. > :47:20.the headlights, but they look uncertain. They need an emotional
:47:21. > :47:30.response, somebody to inspire and step forward. Some good defence.
:47:31. > :47:37.Maybe they can build from there. A strong decision made by the Serbian
:47:38. > :47:42.coach to leave Mitrovic in there, with a 50% safe percentage. He must
:47:43. > :47:53.feel as though he did the best he could. His team must play better to
:47:54. > :48:06.keep Greece at bay. A save and a good one. That is an important goal.
:48:07. > :48:09.Neither of the Serbian goals are the prettiest that you will see in water
:48:10. > :48:17.polo. But they do count just as much. It is the rebound, it is
:48:18. > :48:32.picked up and cashed in, and it is on the board.
:48:33. > :48:47.Stefan Mitrovic gets credit for it. Maybe they are giving it to
:48:48. > :48:54.Prlainovic. It is Stefan Mitrovic who gets credit for it. It was a
:48:55. > :49:06.desperate moment of delivery. It is getting that way. They cannot go
:49:07. > :49:10.much further. They have to take advantage, create some inspired
:49:11. > :49:16.play. A lofted effort from the Greeks. Rather hopeful. Where is the
:49:17. > :49:33.option? It is taken away from the Serbians
:49:34. > :49:42.to easily. They come forward into an area of
:49:43. > :50:02.safety. It was going to have to be as good
:50:03. > :50:15.as he could have shot to beat a man from that distance. It was to
:50:16. > :50:25.central from Evagelos Delakas. Off the bar. Rising up. Anticipating a
:50:26. > :50:34.return for that sensational slashing shot towards goal. It just needed a
:50:35. > :50:38.couple of centimetres to the left-hand side. Even then, it would
:50:39. > :50:45.not have been certain with the square post. A Serbian time-out,
:50:46. > :50:51.they will have to reassess how they want to approach these chances. The
:50:52. > :50:54.game is still in the balance. Both of these teams are talking their way
:50:55. > :51:04.through these critical stages in the third period. Thodoris Vlachos is so
:51:05. > :51:14.demonstrative in how he wants his team to employ their tactics. Back
:51:15. > :51:24.to duty, the Greeks. Marshalling these waters so far quite
:51:25. > :51:27.comfortably. It has not been to testing as yet, but you get the
:51:28. > :51:36.sense there has got to be a pushback from Serbia. They will bring this
:51:37. > :51:41.game into discussion, as to who will come away with a full complement of
:51:42. > :51:46.points. Surely Serbia have another gear that they can drive themselves
:51:47. > :51:53.forward into. But they are being prevented by the Greeks. They have
:51:54. > :51:58.had a challenge so far in this one. They are going to give it up. The
:51:59. > :52:06.shot clock was expiring. They retreat. They await the onward rush
:52:07. > :52:17.of the arrival of the Serbian troops into this Greek half of the pool.
:52:18. > :52:28.They will lose a man. They needed that. That is a legal strike.
:52:29. > :52:31.Perfectly placed. Nikola Jaksic with the finish, and nag you get a
:52:32. > :52:37.different body language from Greece. Just one goal and it is a turnaround
:52:38. > :52:42.goal. Mark that moment as a turning point for Serbia. They are back
:52:43. > :52:50.within two. The finish is delightful.
:52:51. > :53:07.He will take that and cashed it in. This is his first Olympics. That is
:53:08. > :53:15.his second goal in this competition. A couple of major files, a few
:53:16. > :53:23.players sitting on the purge of being removed from this match. It is
:53:24. > :53:30.going to be about emotional control as anything. Emotional control
:53:31. > :53:33.contributes towards physical control. What a delivery towards
:53:34. > :53:49.goal. My goodness. Konstantinos Genidounias, a genius
:53:50. > :53:54.shot. He rips it off the face of the water and it high into the Serbian
:53:55. > :53:59.goal. The fist pump of the light. That is enough of a bicep work-out.
:54:00. > :54:05.He was delighted with the return from that purposeful shot. Straight
:54:06. > :54:13.over the top, and I direct line. He took it. What a move back, though,
:54:14. > :54:23.from Serbia. The left-hand dropping get over the top, Filip Filipovic. A
:54:24. > :54:30.masterstroke of a world-class, accomplished water polo player. How
:54:31. > :54:37.about that. Another goal for the Serbians.
:54:38. > :54:58.Sensational delivery into the back of the Greek goal.
:54:59. > :55:12.Five goals overall in this Olympics for Filip Filipovic. Position for
:55:13. > :55:21.the Serbians. This is a changing complexion in this third period.
:55:22. > :55:34.He has got a lightning bolt of a left arm. Into the central position.
:55:35. > :55:40.Slobodan Nikic. Their coach has a different looking face now, Dejan
:55:41. > :55:46.Savic?. It is a wry smile. It is not recorded. Suggesting the offside,
:55:47. > :55:55.the ball getting into an area, the whistle was blown. They need to keep
:55:56. > :56:03.a close eye on that. That is why Dejan Savic had that expression. He
:56:04. > :56:07.expected that would be a goal credited. It was taken away. It
:56:08. > :56:13.could be instrumental in this scoreline. The Greeks are in a
:56:14. > :56:18.position to drop it and score it. They are saying it is offside. They
:56:19. > :56:29.are a shred the ball inside the two metre area. The ball puts all the
:56:30. > :56:34.players on side. Filip Filipovic needs to be careful. The ball is
:56:35. > :56:50.first into the red zone. The offensive player cannot be there
:56:51. > :56:54.first. The Serbians with a shot again, it has been blown down. It
:56:55. > :57:02.has been curiouser, the last few exchanges. The questions coming from
:57:03. > :57:09.the Serbian bench. What exactly are the referees seem? It is so precise.
:57:10. > :57:16.Just how they will evaluate the play. To the letter of the law, what
:57:17. > :57:21.is legal and what isn't. Greece allowed to continue. But they give
:57:22. > :57:36.it up just as quick. Serbia need more from what they have
:57:37. > :57:45.achieved the last couple of times. A time-out being called. Reset the
:57:46. > :57:49.troops and make sure that all of your players are on the same page.
:57:50. > :57:52.The game plan that they are trying to employ. Everybody needs to be
:57:53. > :58:13.singing from the same hymn sheet. Much more inspired body language
:58:14. > :58:19.from the Serbians now. They come over and receive instructions.
:58:20. > :58:35.Believing they will be an exclusion here. Georgios Dervisis has come
:58:36. > :58:38.out. You can see his frustration. This is a sense from Greece that
:58:39. > :58:57.they may be being pushed beyond their comfortable limits.
:58:58. > :59:06.The tempered, patient strike, and it will be scored, it is coming from
:59:07. > :59:16.Andrija Prlainovic. It is a changing game. Andrija Prlainovic will rip
:59:17. > :59:20.that one past the outstretched arm. It's time starting to become an
:59:21. > :59:32.enemy for Greece? There is too much of it. Most of the scoring coming
:59:33. > :59:42.from Serbia. He will take that one. Well timed delivery and strike.
:59:43. > :59:54.Greece need to establish again some offensive confidence, another shot.
:59:55. > :00:01.Some return with interest. Try to impress themselves upon Serbia. They
:00:02. > :00:09.find a way, they change of course en route. They will gladly take that.
:00:10. > :00:14.However it was to arrive. Angelos Vlachopoulos gets the benefit of
:00:15. > :00:28.over anticipation from Mitrovic. And hike up and out of range. That's
:00:29. > :00:36.a long way from the water polo gold in which to get a goal. Two from two
:00:37. > :00:45.on the efforts he has made in this one. Valuable seconds. Will they
:00:46. > :00:51.attempt a shot? That was a pretty good effort, forcing the keeper to
:00:52. > :00:54.focus rights to the end of time. That is a different looking game all
:00:55. > :01:06.of a sudden after three periods of play. There was a spread of, well,
:01:07. > :01:15.the impressive 4-1 score after two. An impressive differential that has
:01:16. > :01:23.been cut to only two. ORE: It is still Greece's game. A
:01:24. > :01:28.hat-trick of goals for Fountoulis, but it was Serbia's quarter. It was
:01:29. > :01:32.but it was the same pattern we saw from them against Hungary. They
:01:33. > :01:36.brought it back to being two behind after three. The same pattern and
:01:37. > :01:41.they went on to tie up that game. They do still need the win. A draw
:01:42. > :01:45.against Hungary you can pass off, it is the Hungarians. With the Greeks,
:01:46. > :01:58.if you intend to win you have to do up your game. The Greeks getting the
:01:59. > :02:01.goal at the end, Vlachopoulos was a team-mate of Fountoulis and giving
:02:02. > :02:06.Greeks the Porsche. There are so many different ways of scoring,
:02:07. > :02:12.whether eight skimming over the water or a looping it in. We saw
:02:13. > :02:17.that, the ability to guide it in. It is an incredibly varied sport. I
:02:18. > :02:22.have talked about anticipation. You will see players moving well before
:02:23. > :02:26.the ball comes in. To get that height out of the water, to deflect
:02:27. > :02:30.the ball into the net, you have to go early and assume the ball is
:02:31. > :02:34.going to make it to you. It is a game of anticipation and moving well
:02:35. > :02:41.before you actually see anything happen as a spectator. It is a game
:02:42. > :02:44.that Serbia Trail by two goals to nil. We are going to go back for the
:02:45. > :02:48.fourth and final quarter. They trailed two goals to Hungary in the
:02:49. > :02:53.last match and they came back to draw that one, but it is no good
:02:54. > :03:00.getting draws at this stage. There be a habit all to do if they are to
:03:01. > :03:03.kick off their Olympic campaign. COMMENTATOR: This is the final
:03:04. > :03:10.period of this match. It is much number seven, group A. Serbia and
:03:11. > :03:14.Greece, a two point advantage still remaining with the Greeks. They will
:03:15. > :03:20.get to the ball and win it again. They have been outstanding on those
:03:21. > :03:26.sprints. Those are small things that just give you favour come the end of
:03:27. > :03:34.the match and evaluating the total output, which is the scoreline.
:03:35. > :03:45.They had a little chunk taken out of them on that third period. But they
:03:46. > :03:49.had a 3-goal advantage going into it. It is now down to two. This is
:03:50. > :03:58.the business end of the match, without doubt. You expect that the
:03:59. > :04:08.use of that thunderbolt of a left arm that we have seen from
:04:09. > :04:15.Filipovic... Quickly striking, a different look. It is their captain
:04:16. > :04:21.who will quickly and clinically sliced through this Greek defence.
:04:22. > :04:28.There to the wide side, inside the post, and that is the stuff of real
:04:29. > :04:37.champions. The look in the eyes are totally different now from Flegkas.
:04:38. > :04:40.This almost has a sense of resignation about it. It should not
:04:41. > :04:45.be the case. The Greeks have earned this position. They do not want to
:04:46. > :04:53.allow it to disappear as the sun comes over the pool. Needs a little
:04:54. > :04:56.bit of light back in the offensive approach by the Greeks, who will
:04:57. > :05:14.shoot much better from the Serbians. They finished off that good work.
:05:15. > :05:22.Kolomvos took the feed and this little drop in.
:05:23. > :05:32.Perfectly placed into that far left side. And that is important to come
:05:33. > :05:42.back with interest after conceding that quick goal inside the fourth
:05:43. > :05:50.period. This is the extended our of this big left-handed delivery. --
:05:51. > :06:06.arm. This is a different twist in the
:06:07. > :06:12.last minutes. Serbia come back and don't do a whole lot with it, but
:06:13. > :06:22.give it up quite casually. The work goes on. The ball movement is really
:06:23. > :06:38.key for Greece. Keeping the defence certainly uncomfortable.
:06:39. > :06:52.That was deemed as offside. Quickly, the official was onto that one. So
:06:53. > :07:01.delicate are the nuances of water polo. Such a specialist game as to
:07:02. > :07:06.how the referees will adjudicate it. Keep an eye on what they will allow
:07:07. > :07:20.and what... There's a great defensive stance from Serbia.
:07:21. > :07:26.It is coming unbuckled, such is the pace and concentration on the task
:07:27. > :07:36.at hand, which is trying to get on the scoreboard again for Serbia.
:07:37. > :07:41.Where and when will the strike come? The Greeks will be excluded of a
:07:42. > :07:51.man. That is a real precise and comfortable score. Aleksic makes it
:07:52. > :07:56.look all too easy from that range. He sees daylight, says, well, I'm
:07:57. > :08:01.going to go right down the middle. No chance of bringing the arms up.
:08:02. > :08:06.The thought maybe was to try to head it. That would have given him
:08:07. > :08:10.whiplash, as it rips over the top of the Greek keeper. And this is now
:08:11. > :08:24.within one. Three shots, the one goal there, as
:08:25. > :08:30.we have just seen. You see the Serbian side just wanting to perform
:08:31. > :08:35.better than they have. Can they grind out a result? They have a draw
:08:36. > :08:42.only to their credit in this tournament so far. They desperately
:08:43. > :08:45.would love a win. They have some serious work still to do to try to
:08:46. > :09:00.create that outcome. That intricate passing a moment ago
:09:01. > :09:07.suggests they are pretty calm, Greece, given the situation. They
:09:08. > :09:13.have won 81 goal game already at these Rio Olympics. They are not
:09:14. > :09:19.afraid of being in a tight match. This one, though, is getting quite
:09:20. > :09:30.nervous indeed. They have an extra player. That was a great ricochet.
:09:31. > :09:35.Just trying to whack it on as best as it was delivered. They made it
:09:36. > :09:44.happen. Oh, the placement just not precise enough.
:09:45. > :09:52.Serbia, with a goal here, could bring this match level. It has been
:09:53. > :09:58.some time indeed since that was last the case. Where will a shot be
:09:59. > :10:10.coming from? There it is! The slicing shot through with the Greek
:10:11. > :10:19.defence. One more time, Milos Cuk, he finds a way. Crazy eights on the
:10:20. > :10:29.board. Greece need to keep their heads. That was all available to Cuk
:10:30. > :10:40.on that side. He was going to, without doubt, penetrate that little
:10:41. > :10:41.bit of opening on that post. Where does this one twist towards its
:10:42. > :11:00.finish? It could go all ways. Any manner of possibility between
:11:01. > :11:06.these two sides. There will be an exclusion against the Serbians. An
:11:07. > :11:11.extra man available. Greece have extra attackers and with the
:11:12. > :11:23.availability of an extra man. They have been strong. Where does it come
:11:24. > :11:31.from? There really isn't one definite shooter you would
:11:32. > :11:39.anticipate here. That just went way wide, up and beyond. It will be a
:11:40. > :11:41.chance for Serbia to take the lead. That has been long awaited for by
:11:42. > :11:56.that Serbian bench. Four goals, the Greeks have had from
:11:57. > :12:07.the extra player advantage. There it is! A whipping return shot the
:12:08. > :12:15.Serbians have reasserted themselves and are in front by one. As quick as
:12:16. > :12:25.you would not want to see it for the Greeks, it is in the back of their
:12:26. > :12:29.own goal. Slobodan Nikic wins a goal at a crucial moment for this site.
:12:30. > :12:34.You talk about experience, this is his third Olympics. 347 matches
:12:35. > :12:42.played at an international level for his country. And they're a goal that
:12:43. > :12:50.he will remember in this tournament for sure.
:12:51. > :13:02.But is it going to be the difference? There is still more in
:13:03. > :13:08.the story to be written. Greece with the opportunity here offensively, in
:13:09. > :13:12.the blue caps. Inside two minutes left. They have the extra player,
:13:13. > :13:17.they have scored four goals from this advantage so far. Do they have
:13:18. > :13:32.a fit? You sense that they might. There it is! What a way to finish
:13:33. > :13:35.that great passing sequence. The danger of Fountoulis continues to be
:13:36. > :13:42.alarming to the Serbians. He had his fourth goal from nine shots taken in
:13:43. > :13:49.this match. That is exactly 44.4% of the time. This percentage is so
:13:50. > :13:51.important to the Greeks as you see them respond will stop level, we are
:13:52. > :14:20.again. Greece had their man marked pretty
:14:21. > :14:24.well, in fact, had him distracted. Not aware that pass was coming
:14:25. > :14:33.across for him. That is pretty good defence if you are able to keep your
:14:34. > :14:37.opponent in such disarray. And to double digits, who will get there
:14:38. > :14:51.first? That could be the winning scoreline. It might be enough. That
:14:52. > :14:57.was a great save. Their captain will try to seize the moment there?
:14:58. > :15:08.Christos Afroudakis. 55 seconds left on the game clock and the employment
:15:09. > :15:12.of a time-out by the Greek coach, Vlachos. He will instruct and
:15:13. > :15:45.provide the directions now. This is an exercise in execution as
:15:46. > :15:50.much as anything. They will know what they are wanting to achieve, it
:15:51. > :16:01.was all about reminders and encouragement and the right prompts.
:16:02. > :16:02.The plan has been imported. To go and bring it into fruition. What
:16:03. > :16:20.will happen here? The shape is a bit hopeful, and it
:16:21. > :16:27.has been thrown away. That was a challenging angle to try and execute
:16:28. > :16:32.a pass from that distance. The defence on top as well. The Serbians
:16:33. > :16:38.with a chance to steal this match from the jaws of defeat. They had
:16:39. > :16:46.been sitting and waiting for the opportunity. It was going to be
:16:47. > :16:55.challenging to try and take it. They allowed play to continue.
:16:56. > :17:02.That is a shot from a long distance. It was the best that they could
:17:03. > :17:08.muster, to try and get to double digits. They will take that, though.
:17:09. > :17:18.Not necessarily a victory, but to get at least a point from this
:17:19. > :17:26.match. They will take a draw. They share the points.
:17:27. > :17:31.Serbia showing a huge resolve to come back in a game that they were
:17:32. > :17:40.always chasing. They led eventually in the final quarter, 9-8, Greece
:17:41. > :17:42.levelled it 9-9. Serbia will have to do with two draws in a row, which
:17:43. > :18:20.will please all of their rivals. It is time to talk about hockey.
:18:21. > :18:23.Great Britain's men got off to the worst possible start in their
:18:24. > :18:28.competition, losing 4-1 against Belgium. No problem for the women,
:18:29. > :18:34.they got off to a great start against Australia. There were goals
:18:35. > :18:38.from Lily Owsley and Alex Danson as they ran out 2-1 winners. It meant
:18:39. > :18:55.their group looks like this. Australia are not the million with
:18:56. > :19:00.being bottom. Great Britain play in the at 10pm UK time this evening.
:19:01. > :19:07.Now, the chance for Australia to get points on the board. We will watch
:19:08. > :19:11.them play the USA. You might think the USA are more familiar with ice
:19:12. > :19:16.hockey, but they finished third in the champions' Trophy in London and
:19:17. > :19:43.beat Great Britain 2-0 on their way to a bronze medal.
:19:44. > :20:52.A good pace for this game in the early stages.
:20:53. > :20:58.Trying to relieve the pressure. Australia will feel they have spent
:20:59. > :21:03.too much time in their own end in this first quarter. The USA ranked
:21:04. > :21:13.fifth by the International hockey Federation, Australia third. But
:21:14. > :21:21.ranking means nothing. A good hit by Mariah Williams, but it goes over
:21:22. > :21:30.Jackie Briggs' net. High and wide from Mariah Williams. Rankings mean
:21:31. > :21:38.nothing, we saw it in the men'. Spain beat Australia. Their 1-0
:21:39. > :21:43.victory for Spain, the 11th team beating the top team. You throw
:21:44. > :21:49.rankings out of the window and work hard.
:21:50. > :22:08.A tense moment there, Michelle Vittese tried to join in.
:22:09. > :22:43.Katie Bam took a drive at it. A free kick for USA, Julia Reinprecht.
:22:44. > :22:58.Johnny on the spot was Grace Stewart, the USA survived.
:22:59. > :23:06.A save by Jackie Briggs. This is better from Australia. Flexing their
:23:07. > :23:17.offensive muscles. Jackie Briggs had to be good for USA. The first save
:23:18. > :23:22.from the stick of Emily Smith. Grace Stewart has been immense early on.
:23:23. > :23:30.Time runs out in the first quarter. 15 minutes in the books on the third
:23:31. > :23:36.day. Australia against the USA. Another look at Grace Stewart. Ten
:23:37. > :23:52.international goals, trying to make it 11 there, but it was not to be.
:23:53. > :24:04.USA beat Argentina 2-1 on the first day, Australia lost 2-1 to Great
:24:05. > :24:05.Britain. USA with three points, Australia looking for their first
:24:06. > :24:36.point. Mariah Williams wants a referral.
:24:37. > :24:43.She will oblige. They want to know if it is a foot inside the scoring
:24:44. > :24:53.the awe outside. They will go upstairs to the video umpire.
:24:54. > :24:59.A penalty corner. Australia will be happy with that. The first in
:25:00. > :25:18.Article one of the game. This is where the game is won and
:25:19. > :25:27.lost at this level. Magnificent play by Georgina Morgan.
:25:28. > :25:36.Just wide, but dangerous moment for USA. They survive the first penalty
:25:37. > :25:41.corner of this contest. What a drag flick by Georgina Morgan. She has
:25:42. > :25:47.one goal already in this tournament, nine international goals, looking
:25:48. > :25:48.for double figures. It was followed up by Casey Sablowski. Australia
:25:49. > :26:10.looking more dangerous there. It is struck wide. Hit with plenty
:26:11. > :26:22.of muscle by Caitlin Van Sickle, but it goes wide. Six feet wide. Rachael
:26:23. > :26:29.Lynch happy to see it go beyond her net. That was an errant pass, it
:26:30. > :26:40.went off an Australian defender, so they will do it all again.
:26:41. > :26:47.Lauren Crandall was the captain in London, a magnificent record for any
:26:48. > :27:09.hockey player. That did not work out. She tried to
:27:10. > :27:17.get it to Michelle Vittese. It was not to be.
:27:18. > :27:23.USA do not stop their feet moving, they are in constant motion, and
:27:24. > :27:28.make the outlet pass difficult for Australia. An Australian player
:27:29. > :27:42.knocked down. A USA ball. A free kick, USA. Just inside the 23
:27:43. > :28:06.metre line. The USA bringing numbers and speed,
:28:07. > :28:15.it seems to flow through Kathleen Sharkey. An all-American first-team
:28:16. > :28:39.2009, 2010, 2012. Appearing in her 84th contest for USA.
:28:40. > :28:52.It will go past the goal line, it will be a free 15 metre ball for
:28:53. > :29:00.Australia. Excellent atmosphere. Day three of the women's hockey. Well
:29:01. > :29:19.supported, USA and Australia. That past did not work out. A hard drive
:29:20. > :29:24.of the shin of Georgie Parker. Kathryn Slattery looking for her
:29:25. > :29:28.18th international goal. The fitness level and ability to cover ground
:29:29. > :29:33.and take away time and space from Australia. Edwina Bone could not
:29:34. > :29:52.catch up, USA pushing forward. Tireless work there against Jodie
:29:53. > :30:19.Kenny. It will be a free hit for USA. Well outside the circle.
:30:20. > :30:30.Trying to find the first goal of this pool B clash.
:30:31. > :30:36.The USA are happy to take the free hits, the sideline hits, the 23
:30:37. > :30:58.metre hits. That did not work out, but you could
:30:59. > :31:43.see Gonzalez trying to weave behind the defender.
:31:44. > :31:58.Stewart has been very dangerous for Australia.
:31:59. > :32:05.That will be a free ball for Team USA. Good pressure there from
:32:06. > :32:13.Australia trying to come into this game. The USA have had their
:32:14. > :32:19.offensive opportunities and now Australia want some of their own.
:32:20. > :32:32.Grace Stewart, the 19-year-old, has brought her a game.
:32:33. > :32:46.It looks like Blyth will have some time on the penalty chair. Green
:32:47. > :32:48.card for Blyth. Player advantage here for team USA as Blyth will sit
:32:49. > :33:52.and have a think about that. Kenny is a much taller player at six
:33:53. > :33:57.foot, and stayed with Katie Bam expertly. You could see the speed of
:33:58. > :34:02.Katie Bam and the speed killing Australia as USA win the penalty
:34:03. > :34:07.corner. Katie Bam says, I've had enough of racing with you, I'm going
:34:08. > :34:13.to win a corner and knock it off the feet of Kenny. The first penalty
:34:14. > :34:34.corner for the USA. Pivotal moment here. Still scoreless
:34:35. > :34:42.for New Zealand. A magnificent strike! A well orchestrated penalty
:34:43. > :34:44.corner, and Team USA have the opening goal against Australia. What
:34:45. > :35:21.a play by Michelle protests. First goal of the 2016 Olympics for
:35:22. > :35:28.Vittese. It was a beautiful, well worked penalty corner goal. The USA
:35:29. > :35:31.strike first in the latter stages of the first half. They come right back
:35:32. > :35:43.at Team Australia. The speed of Katie Bam winning that
:35:44. > :35:52.penalty corner and then the magnificent set piece from USA and
:35:53. > :35:58.the goal by Vittese as USA are out to a 1-0 advantage. Five minutes to
:35:59. > :35:59.go. Australia will want to answer back before the end of this second
:36:00. > :36:08.quarter. A strike of Emily Smith, a free ball
:36:09. > :36:46.to the USA. Emily Smith wanted a word with the
:36:47. > :36:59.referee, but there is no need. A penalty corner awarded to team
:37:00. > :37:06.Australia. You see right there... Of the team USA defender. Second
:37:07. > :37:18.penalty corner for team USA. Or team Australia. They are 0- one. -- they
:37:19. > :37:43.A punishing, punishing, heavy shot. Team USA worked the defence to
:37:44. > :37:50.perfection. Australia are zero for two in the penalty corners.
:37:51. > :38:01.The quality of goal tended on display here as Jackie Briggs does
:38:02. > :38:17.her job. Less than 3.5 minutes to go,
:38:18. > :38:20.Australia trying to find some answers. They have had a couple of
:38:21. > :38:23.penalty corners of their own and have been unsuccessful on both those
:38:24. > :39:35.attempts. You can see the incredible pressure
:39:36. > :39:39.that the USA's case is putting on Australia. Australia are spending
:39:40. > :39:43.far too much time in their own 23 metre dome. You can bet that their
:39:44. > :39:48.coach will want to change that in the second half. Less than two
:39:49. > :39:57.minutes to go in the second quarter, the first half. Australia finally
:39:58. > :40:05.relieved the unrelenting pressure. The USA coach will be happy with the
:40:06. > :40:10.output of his hockey club. They enjoyed a 1-0 lead off that penalty
:40:11. > :40:23.corner goal. Sharkey has been a very quick player
:40:24. > :40:54.for the USA. Team USA keep running at everything,
:40:55. > :40:55.every free ball, every 50-50 play, they just keep coming at the
:40:56. > :41:14.Australians. Stefanie Fee covering so much ground
:41:15. > :41:21.there. Every move by Australia is pounced upon by the USA. Australia
:41:22. > :41:26.are trying to find some offence here in the dying moments, but the USA
:41:27. > :41:37.will batten down the hatches and be happy to keep it out of the D. The
:41:38. > :41:45.first half will come to a conclusion on pitch three. Pitch one, here on
:41:46. > :41:48.day three. Team USA it will run to the changing rooms for the half-time
:41:49. > :41:58.break of the happier of the two teams.
:41:59. > :42:04.ORE: I told you the USA where a forced to be reckoned with. It is
:42:05. > :42:09.not going well at all for Australia after the first half in this group B
:42:10. > :42:14.clash. Confirmation there, the USA are leading actor two FT minute
:42:15. > :42:20.periods by one goal to nil. Let's check in on what is coming up for
:42:21. > :42:26.the rest of the programme. -- 15 minute periods. We will be back to
:42:27. > :42:31.the Deodoro and the hockey stadium there for the second half of the USA
:42:32. > :42:38.against Australia in the women's competition. I'm delighted to say we
:42:39. > :42:43.will head over to Copacabana to check in with the Beach volleyball.
:42:44. > :42:49.A Brazilian pair against an Argentinian pair. That will be a
:42:50. > :42:55.feisty encounter. We will see how Paul Drinkhall gets on in the men's
:42:56. > :42:58.singles of the table tennis. He squeezed past the Singaporean
:42:59. > :43:04.contender yesterday 4-3. He is on the third round. And we have
:43:05. > :43:10.equestrian, as well, for you. We have the eventing and the second
:43:11. > :43:15.event of the competition, the cross-country. Team GB are doing
:43:16. > :43:35.very well. Here is how your afternoon looks on BBC Four.
:43:36. > :43:41.Over on BBC One right now, they are showing the equestrian. If you want
:43:42. > :43:45.to keep right up to date with everything going on, the BBC One is
:43:46. > :43:51.the place to go. It will continue on the Red Button, as well. And then
:43:52. > :43:58.straight after that, they will be heading off to the Riocentro - per
:43:59. > :44:14.billion -- Pavilion to check in on the boxing.
:44:15. > :44:17.To make even more of your Rio 2016 Olympic Games,
:44:18. > :44:19.from boxing to badminton, hockey to handball, you've got it
:44:20. > :44:23.Alongside coverage on BBC One, BBC Four and Radio 5 Live,

:44:27. > :44:29.or via the BBC Sport app, on mobile, connected TVs and games consoles.
:44:30. > :44:32.The very best of these will be available on the Red Button,
:44:33. > :44:35.via satellite, cable or Freeview, depending on your set-top box
:44:36. > :44:38.If that's not enough, you can download the BBC Sport app
:44:39. > :44:41.where you can set up news and medal alerts and live event reminders
:44:42. > :44:48.so you can follow all your favourite sports.
:44:49. > :44:54.Plenty of ways to keep across our coverage, but we have moved
:44:55. > :44:57.location. Just keeping you on your toes here on BBC Four from the Maria
:44:58. > :45:04.Lenk Aquatics Centre, and we are back in our usual home in the Barra
:45:05. > :45:08.Olympic Park. Just keeping you on your toes. It is looking resplendent
:45:09. > :45:11.this morning. It is looking a bit warmer than I thought it was going
:45:12. > :45:16.to when I got dressed this afternoon. My wife has already
:45:17. > :45:20.texted me saying, you cold? I am definitely not. It is definitely
:45:21. > :45:24.warming up on the Olympic Park. We will show you some equestrian rights
:45:25. > :45:27.now, because after London 2012, Great Britain were the most
:45:28. > :45:32.successful nation, winning five medals. One was a team bronze in the
:45:33. > :45:35.eventing and they are very well placed in the team and also the
:45:36. > :45:41.individual event, as well. After two days of dressage, leading the way is
:45:42. > :45:46.William Fox-Pitt in the individual event.
:45:47. > :45:53.There was a question of his career, he had a bad fall in a Grand Prix,
:45:54. > :45:59.he came back despite being put into an inch used coma, he is competing
:46:00. > :46:07.and leading. There was a twist in the tale.
:46:08. > :46:15.Silver medallist, Great Britain! The cheers ringing around. The
:46:16. > :46:19.three-time Olympic medallist William Fox-Pitt is making steady progress
:46:20. > :46:25.in his recovery. He was placed in a coma after falling at the
:46:26. > :46:30.championships. When you have the full, at what stage did you become
:46:31. > :46:34.aware of what had happened? The whole time I was in France, I was
:46:35. > :46:38.there for a couple of weeks, I had no recollection of being there. I
:46:39. > :46:48.was not allowed home, they had to check I was safe. I remember being
:46:49. > :46:52.angry. The tests I did, it was important to me. When I got back
:46:53. > :46:59.home and I was with my children and Alice, that was a big deal. Has she
:47:00. > :47:09.been 100% behind the drive to get to the Olympics? She has been very
:47:10. > :47:15.supportive. In the beginning we all wondered if I would carry on. I have
:47:16. > :47:24.done it for years, I have had fun, I am lucky. But this was part of my
:47:25. > :47:27.rehab, it got me back in the saddle. Physically, there is nothing
:47:28. > :47:41.different about you. As skinny as ever! Do you think you are there?
:47:42. > :47:44.Yes. If I look back to bed, the accident happened in October, I
:47:45. > :47:50.thought, we have got ages, and suddenly we are in July, my
:47:51. > :47:52.goodness, I have only just had enough time. I feel great. We are
:47:53. > :48:04.ready. The horse is a superstar, widely you
:48:05. > :48:11.think he is almost the perfect event horse? He is a special all-rounder.
:48:12. > :48:16.It is three disciplines, he has nailed all three. So often, top
:48:17. > :48:20.horses have a weak discipline. I enjoy riding him every time. This
:48:21. > :48:25.could potentially be his last ever event, he is 16, he owes us nothing.
:48:26. > :48:40.This could be it. The partnership with him, it seems
:48:41. > :48:48.crucial that you know each other so well. Yes, I have had him since he
:48:49. > :48:53.was 12, he is now 16, so he has been a great part of my life. He has
:48:54. > :48:57.given me great confidence to get back and riding again. In the
:48:58. > :49:03.beginning, I did not want to fall off. He took me on board as a
:49:04. > :49:09.geriatric and he was gentle with me. He knew that I was a bit erratic.
:49:10. > :49:17.Jumping him was a bit hit and miss, and he did not care, he thought,
:49:18. > :49:23.come with me. He likes attention. He loves people, he likes being gloved
:49:24. > :49:28.and petted. He is not at all irritable. It would be the fairy
:49:29. > :49:33.tale ending to the Hollywood film if you come back from a serious brain
:49:34. > :49:39.injury and win the gold medal. Wouldn't it just. I have a very good
:49:40. > :49:42.horse, I know that if I write him well and don't let him down, I could
:49:43. > :49:57.be up there. Since my accident, it has hit home
:49:58. > :50:03.that everyday you are lucky. I have been so lucky. France was unlucky,
:50:04. > :50:09.but it was very lucky. The fact that he is good, I am here, we are going
:50:10. > :50:16.to the Olympics, it is a dream. We are very lucky. Any medal is a
:50:17. > :50:27.bonus. It is not at all expected, but we will have a good go.
:50:28. > :50:30.He is a real fighter, a true capacitor, he is in his fifth
:50:31. > :50:37.Olympic Games and he is leading the way.
:50:38. > :50:49.Great Britain are well placed for a medal.
:50:50. > :50:56.Germany won both medals in 2012 and 2008, they will be difficult to keep
:50:57. > :51:12.off the podium, but William Fox-Pitt is doing all he needs to do.
:51:13. > :51:21.That is when we will have the first equestrian medal, the eventing team
:51:22. > :51:25.jumping final. The top 25 individual riders will progress into their own
:51:26. > :51:39.final armour for another round of jumping at 6pm tomorrow evening.
:51:40. > :51:49.BBC One arc across this. If you want to see William Fox-Pitt and the Team
:51:50. > :51:57.GB riders, we will see him in three quarters of an hour, BBC One is the
:51:58. > :52:05.place to go. We are going to go back to the hockey. One of the sponsors
:52:06. > :52:13.here have taken a wonderful... I did this before, they won't like this. I
:52:14. > :52:21.have been called out. They don't want me in. They will take one
:52:22. > :52:24.picture, then they might want me in. What a way to offend a whole group
:52:25. > :52:32.of people in one fell swoop. Let's head back to the hockey. We are
:52:33. > :52:36.watching the women's hockey, the second half between Australia and
:52:37. > :52:49.the USA, the USA lead 1-0. They are in the third quarter.
:52:50. > :53:00.They spent too much time in their own 23 metre area in the first 30
:53:01. > :53:02.minutes of play. They will want to teach -- tilt the pitch the other
:53:03. > :53:17.way, into Jackie Briggs's area. Kelsey Kolojejchick, oh 100th
:53:18. > :54:00.appearance for USA. The discipline getting to Jane
:54:01. > :54:10.Claxton. She will have time to think about that on the penalty chair.
:54:11. > :54:15.Madonna Blyth had a card in the first half. Now USA have room to
:54:16. > :54:24.roam, one less player on the pitch for the Australians. Emily Smith in
:54:25. > :54:31.her second Olympic Games, she plays for New South Wales.
:54:32. > :54:49.Quick stick by Kelsey Kolojejchick. It is just wide from Kelsey
:54:50. > :54:52.Kolojejchick. Magnificent play by Michelle Vittese. She tried to be
:54:53. > :54:59.the playmaker Kelsey Kolojejchick. Good stick, but just wide. Rachael
:55:00. > :55:08.Lynch looked to have the angle covered, but she was happy to see it
:55:09. > :55:16.go wide. A free hit for Australia from the corner. The coach's
:55:17. > :55:21.tactical experience, he is excellent from penalty corners, making the
:55:22. > :55:25.difference. He was the assistant coach for Great Britain when they
:55:26. > :55:30.won bronze in 2012, and he was in charge of penalty corners. You can
:55:31. > :55:37.see his influence stamped all over this team USA squad. They finished
:55:38. > :55:50.12 four years ago. Now looking so good here.
:55:51. > :56:07.The ball bounces away from Jill Witmer. USA seem to have a step on
:56:08. > :56:13.Australia in these situations. Katie Bam keeps her feet moving.
:56:14. > :56:28.Just wide. Tense moments for Rachael Lynch and Australia. Michelle
:56:29. > :56:33.Vittese looking for her second goal of the game, just wide. A good hit.
:56:34. > :56:41.She had Katie Bam trying to deflect the ball, yet it past Rachael Lynch.
:56:42. > :56:57.The pace seems to be leading to some of these good moment.
:56:58. > :57:20.The push from behind, you can't tackle from behind. Georgie Parker
:57:21. > :57:29.gets the yellow card. She will have my -- five minutes to think. It is
:57:30. > :57:36.not a good moment for Australia. A penalty corner, USA. They are
:57:37. > :57:44.starting to gain confidence, take over the game.
:57:45. > :57:57.Blocked in front. The pressure still on. Magnificent chance, and a goal.
:57:58. > :58:03.The fans are happy with that. Caitlin Van Sickle Johnny on the
:58:04. > :58:16.spot, great hands. They are looking for dangerous play.
:58:17. > :58:24.USA have celebrated, they believe it is a goal. You can see what Michelle
:58:25. > :58:33.Vittese is trying to do. Watch Caitlin Van Sickle. Michelle Vittese
:58:34. > :58:43.trying to hit the ball with all of her might. We await the video
:58:44. > :58:51.review. High above the playing surface. Looking for dangerous play.
:58:52. > :58:59.I believe she has a few more angles to go over. She wants to make the
:59:00. > :59:06.right call, it is a crucial moment. Caitlin Van Sickle, in her six to
:59:07. > :59:09.first appearance for USA, her first Olympic Games. She made her
:59:10. > :59:11.international debut in 2013. This would be her first ever Olympic
:59:12. > :59:25.gold. I don't see any dangerous play. You
:59:26. > :59:31.can see why USA were celebrating. That is why it is a bit perplexing,
:59:32. > :59:41.they wanted to celebrate, there was no dangerous play. The goal will
:59:42. > :59:46.stand. Caitlin Van Sickle camped out on the crease, brave, going to the
:59:47. > :59:48.danger area to find the loose ball and deposit it behind Rachael Lynch.
:59:49. > :00:12.Her first ever goal in the Olympics. The Harry two goal deficit to
:00:13. > :00:16.overcome. The first goal from Michelle Vittese was a penalty
:00:17. > :00:26.corner goal. The last goal came as a debt result. Team USA has executed
:00:27. > :00:32.much better during the game. It is a sideline hit now. You can see how
:00:33. > :00:38.costly that yellow card to Parker was.
:00:39. > :00:45.Kirstin Dwyer has to go back and that was something evident in the
:00:46. > :00:51.first half. Australia having to go back, having to play the ball back.
:00:52. > :00:57.The USA are in the face. The USA at healing to the five metre rule when
:00:58. > :01:01.applicable. Team USA is taking away time and space and running at team
:01:02. > :01:08.Australia. It is another yellow card.
:01:09. > :01:23.Madonna Blyth, the captain. She will have a yellow card. Another yellow
:01:24. > :01:29.card to Australia. And this time it is the captain. She had the green
:01:30. > :01:41.card in the second quarter. It is another penalty corner as a result.
:01:42. > :01:47.This is for the USA. The ball was struck well by Michelle Kasold. The
:01:48. > :01:55.USA trying to exploit that yellow card from Madonna Blyth. After the
:01:56. > :02:04.initial penalty corner, there was that chance for Stefanie Fee. It
:02:05. > :02:08.will be another penalty corner. That is the captain who has got a
:02:09. > :02:13.five-minute expulsion. That was a good shot from Dawson. It was a
:02:14. > :02:29.laser beam. She could not beat the goalkeeper. That was a good save for
:02:30. > :02:42.Australia. Slattery. She gets one goal back. Against the run of play,
:02:43. > :02:47.Australia, even with the captain off for yellow card, in transition of
:02:48. > :02:58.the penalty corner, it was well worked play. Kathryn Slattery. She
:02:59. > :03:01.was dangerous at places in the first-half and gets her eighth
:03:02. > :03:07.international goal. That was a nice feed from Williams. Excellent goal
:03:08. > :03:14.and it was a kindly goal with 2.35 remaining in the third. Their
:03:15. > :03:22.captain of what the yellow card. Slattery gets Australia back into
:03:23. > :03:26.this contest. 2-1 in favour of the USA. Magnificent effort from
:03:27. > :03:32.Slattery. Good play by Williams to win the ball down the left hand
:03:33. > :03:36.side. It is amazing what a goal can do for Australia. They were on the
:03:37. > :03:41.backheels and happy couple of penalty corner is against them. All
:03:42. > :03:59.of a sudden, they get a goal and they feel pretty good. Team USA are
:04:00. > :04:07.1-4 with penalty corner 's. 1.45 remaining in the third quarter. The
:04:08. > :04:16.tests and Van Sickle for the Americans. Slattery for Australia.
:04:17. > :04:21.-- Michelle Vittese. Australia were back in. That was a good save by the
:04:22. > :04:30.goalkeeper. She got her left leg extended out and was as quick as a
:04:31. > :04:33.cat, Jacke Briggs. And that is Kelsey Kolojejchick sprinting away.
:04:34. > :04:39.She is running away from Dwyer. Dwyer stayed with her and did just
:04:40. > :04:42.enough. She was able to neutralise a scoring chance for Kelsey
:04:43. > :04:53.Kolojejchick. Excellent play from Kirstin Dwyer. Gonzales puts the
:04:54. > :04:57.ball into the corner. Her team-mate was looking the other way. This was
:04:58. > :05:08.the chance for what a magnificent save.
:05:09. > :05:15.Australia were that close to tying it up. 35 seconds remaining in the
:05:16. > :05:22.third quarter. Trying to get the ball through to Smith. The head
:05:23. > :05:26.coach on the sidelines, you can see he is gesticulating, it looks like
:05:27. > :05:30.he is saying, calm down. It is just opposite my vantage point in the
:05:31. > :05:35.commentary box and he is trying to get USA back to what was working
:05:36. > :05:43.well from that point. Less than ten seconds to go in the third quarter.
:05:44. > :05:50.USA 2-1 Australia. Australia will be happy to be back in this contest. It
:05:51. > :05:56.looked like they had a tough job ahead 2-0. Kathryn Slattery, playing
:05:57. > :06:03.the hero. It was a magnificent feed from Williams to Slattery. After 45
:06:04. > :06:09.minutes of play, it is USA 2-1 Australia. STUDIO: Australia getting
:06:10. > :06:52.back into the match and a third quarter. USA lead 2-1.
:06:53. > :07:01.We will be back with the hockey at the Deodoro Centre and a couple of
:07:02. > :07:05.minutes' time. It was around this time yesterday that the weather took
:07:06. > :07:09.a turn for the worst. The wind came up. There was trouble down at the
:07:10. > :07:14.megastore. There was some damage caused to it and it was closed down.
:07:15. > :07:17.If you thought that was bad here, it was so much worse down at the Lagoa
:07:18. > :07:22.Stadium and the rowing. It have to be postponed for the entire day.
:07:23. > :07:24.Thankfully, there was some action today and we can bring you
:07:25. > :07:30.up-to-date with some of the rowing that we have seen down at the Lagoa
:07:31. > :07:33.Stadium. This is the British beer in action in a double sculls. Johnny
:07:34. > :07:41.Walton and John Collins. They missed out on the heats. The qualified the
:07:42. > :07:45.next time around for the men's doubles finals. We will see the
:07:46. > :07:49.British beer in action in the final. The weather is much better down
:07:50. > :07:53.there at the Copacabana. The weather is good here at the Olympic Park as
:07:54. > :07:59.well. That is why everybody is here with your sunglasses. They are
:08:00. > :08:03.trying to get a picture with the Olympic rings. The Sun is also out
:08:04. > :08:10.at the Deodoro. Let us get back to the hockey. The USA against
:08:11. > :08:14.Australia. This is the same group as Britain. Things are not going well
:08:15. > :08:18.for Australia. The other folk a victory so far in the competition.
:08:19. > :08:23.They have got 14 minutes to go to see if they can register some
:08:24. > :08:30.points. COMMENTATOR: Australia looking for the first point of the
:08:31. > :08:34.Olympic competition. At 2-0, they were in trouble. The speed of USA
:08:35. > :08:39.seem to be too much for Australia. That has all changed and it is
:08:40. > :08:45.amazing what one goal can do. Slattery scores and Australia has
:08:46. > :08:54.some chances after that. The USA trying to get that two goal lead
:08:55. > :08:57.back. What a chance out front. You can see Rachael Lynch making sure to
:08:58. > :09:07.guard at the post. It was a good pass out front. Michelle Kasold puts
:09:08. > :09:11.it wide. Excellent feed from Jill Witmer. That would have broken the
:09:12. > :09:16.hearts of the Australian fancy came to light when Slattery made it 2-1.
:09:17. > :09:30.Excellent travelling support from the USA and Australia. She tried to
:09:31. > :09:35.go around Van Sickle and it was not to be. Gabriele mans put it wide. It
:09:36. > :09:39.is a free hit for Crandall, the captain of the USA. She is time to
:09:40. > :09:44.captain her team to a magnificent victory here but also try to settle
:09:45. > :09:48.them down in the fourth quarter. Get them back to lead them to what was a
:09:49. > :09:56.2-0 lead and were dominant in stretches of this competition.
:09:57. > :09:58.Australia are fighting back. They are the 2014 Gold Medal champion
:09:59. > :10:02.from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The USA won Pan-American
:10:03. > :10:15.The USA won Pan-American gold in Toronto.
:10:16. > :10:23.Michelle Kasold ran out of time and space. The USA bringing numbers
:10:24. > :10:30.forward and making it hard to get out of the Australian half. For
:10:31. > :10:36.Australia, it is that speed and fitness that could be, down the
:10:37. > :10:40.stage, what stands to Team USA. It certainly did against Argentina on
:10:41. > :10:50.day one. Good defensive play by Kenny. Katie Bam has been very
:10:51. > :11:01.dangerous. Katie Bam will get the ball to
:11:02. > :11:12.Katelyn Falgowski at the 23 metre line. Katie Bam has been dangerous
:11:13. > :11:21.in that corner. She tried to get a penalty corner. Katie Bam has been
:11:22. > :11:25.making some magic in that corner. Her speed is confusing the
:11:26. > :11:34.Australian defenders. It will be a fifth penalty corner. Look at Katie
:11:35. > :11:39.Bam. Brooke Peris is try to keep before but also trying not to
:11:40. > :11:43.concede the penalty corner. Katie Bam was to fleet of foot and our
:11:44. > :11:48.hands were too quick. It will be Katie Bam to inject it. They have
:11:49. > :11:54.got a penalty corner goal from Michelle Vittese. Rachel Dawson
:11:55. > :12:00.setting up behind the trapper. This is a crucial moment. That was just
:12:01. > :12:08.wide from the captain Lauren Crandall. She leaned into that and
:12:09. > :12:12.gave it her all. It was moving at an incredible velocity. It went just
:12:13. > :12:26.wide. It came off an Australian defender. USA are 1-5 on the penalty
:12:27. > :12:31.corner situations. You could see that everybody thought Rachel Dawson
:12:32. > :12:32.would take the penalty corner. It is keeping Australia guessing, no doubt
:12:33. > :12:48.about it. Madonna Blyth was knocked down. She
:12:49. > :12:52.is time to get focus, she has had a green card and a yellow card. You
:12:53. > :12:58.need you captain to focus and lead you, especially in a trailing
:12:59. > :13:00.situation and Madonna Blyth is one of the best in the business in our
:13:01. > :13:17.339th game for Australia. Kathleen Sharkey tried to get in
:13:18. > :13:25.behind, battling with Morgan. It will be Morgan that comes off the
:13:26. > :13:27.better. Georgina Morgan, she had the only goal for Australia on day one.
:13:28. > :13:49.2-1 loss to Great Britain. That was taken excellently by Jane
:13:50. > :13:55.Claxton. She tried to get it to Slattery but that did not work. The
:13:56. > :14:00.USA turn the ball over. It'll be a sideline had taken by Kirstin Dwyer.
:14:01. > :14:09.She has Slattery downfield column for that. She is being marked by
:14:10. > :14:16.Dawson. The USA will get the ball back. It will be Rachel Dawson,
:14:17. > :14:26.third time Olympian. She made her international debut in 2005. The USA
:14:27. > :14:32.player of the year in 2007. She has experience on the pitch. Nice
:14:33. > :14:37.mixture of younger players and seasoned veterans for the head
:14:38. > :14:41.coach. This is a team, a group that wants to play, they want to play for
:14:42. > :14:50.him. They want to make those sacrifices. They want to get in on
:14:51. > :15:03.big medal. Australia will test USA down the left-hand side. The USA
:15:04. > :15:07.coming forward. Kelsey Kolojejchick made her 100th appearance. It was a
:15:08. > :15:13.nice moment before the national anthems. And Kelsey Kolojejchick
:15:14. > :15:17.gets a second touch on that. She is down. It was a heavy collision with
:15:18. > :15:25.Rachael Lynch, the Australian netminder.
:15:26. > :15:32.Talk about a nice moment ahead of the game, this wasn't a nice moment
:15:33. > :15:37.as cold as chick goes up and over Rachael Lynch. Coming down hard. She
:15:38. > :15:41.nearly stood against Lynch. Lynch showing you why she was the top
:15:42. > :15:49.goalie Abbie 2014 World Cup right there. A huge save, maybe a game
:15:50. > :15:53.saver for team Australia. -- top goalie at the 2014 World Cup. Eight
:15:54. > :16:01.minutes remaining. There is Sabiowski with a nice move. This is
:16:02. > :16:09.her third Olympics. She create some offence here. Right now it will be
:16:10. > :16:14.Smith. A quick take on the free ball, down to the goal-line. It will
:16:15. > :16:19.be Stefanie Fee trying to get the ball out of harm's way. She will
:16:20. > :16:26.indeed win a free ball 14 USA. Seven and a half minutes to go forward
:16:27. > :16:35.USA. USA 2-1 Australia. The marksman for the USA, flattery. -- Kathryn
:16:36. > :16:39.Slattery. A huge goal in the dying moments of the third quarter to get
:16:40. > :16:49.team USA back in this huge pool B clash. Here is Dwyer who hits it
:16:50. > :16:59.forward. Knocked down by Caitlin van Sickle. She has the go-ahead goal as
:17:00. > :17:06.it stands right now for the USA. Vittese using her speed down the
:17:07. > :17:15.right flank. A sideline hit for the USA. Katie Bam couldn't knock that
:17:16. > :17:24.hard pass down. Team USA will get a free 15 metre. Here is Madonna

:27:05. > :27:11.One pointed to the Swiss. Off the top of the block from Nicole Laird.
:27:12. > :27:41.One match point saved. This has been a very impressive
:27:42. > :27:49.fightback, Verge-Depre. A nice little block at the front court

:28:07. > :28:16.Advantage to be Swiss and they take it, too. A brilliant role to the

:28:34. > :28:46.That's a very decent crosscourt winner.
:28:47. > :29:04.Forrer and del Soldar levelling things up at 15 all.

:29:32. > :29:39.Another let off for the Swiss pair. That one floating long. All tied up

:29:59. > :30:09.to be court by Forrer. -- of the court. Standing up tall,
:30:10. > :30:12.Verge-Depre. Blocking the ball back. The second big block, closing point
:30:13. > :30:14.in this third set that Verge-Depre has come up with. The second match
:30:15. > :30:29.point for the Swiss. She could not find a winner and may
:30:30. > :30:40.be tightened up under pressure, Forrer. The opportunities for both
:30:41. > :30:44.combinations to win the match. They have not taken them. That was
:30:45. > :30:57.completely miscued. The block was good. The Swiss get
:30:58. > :31:16.another match point. It is the front court defensive game
:31:17. > :31:23.that has seen the Swiss right back in this third set after having the
:31:24. > :31:24.early advantage. Just standing tall at the front court. Really affected
:31:25. > :31:39.blocks. The Australians get one back and tie
:31:40. > :31:55.it up at 18-18. They will not be denied. Getting through the blocker.
:31:56. > :32:02.Very lucky serve for the Australians. It hit the net on the
:32:03. > :32:14.way through. That gives them a match point opportunity.
:32:15. > :32:24.Fourth match point for the Australians. She could not get
:32:25. > :32:30.there, del Soldar. That was perfectly weighted by Forrer. It was
:32:31. > :32:41.angled across the blocker. Nice control. Especially under such
:32:42. > :32:47.pressure situations, your natural response is to hit the ball hard.
:32:48. > :32:54.Not keep it under control. Battles of the blocker. The Swiss have
:32:55. > :33:13.another match point. Four in total for Forrer and
:33:14. > :33:19.Verge-Depre. Del Soldar cannot find the right response and Switzerland
:33:20. > :33:24.win. Saving a host of match points and running it on the fourth time of
:33:25. > :33:33.asking for them. Coming back from a one set deficit to win it 19-21, 20
:33:34. > :33:42.1-16, and 21-19. It was an entertaining game.
:33:43. > :33:57.The 10th ranked combination edging out the Australians, who are ranked

:34:06. > :34:13.After losing a tight three set game and their first match, that is the
:34:14. > :34:18.numbers. The Australians had the chances and that third set. They
:34:19. > :34:25.certainly did. You can see the great work of the Australians with the
:34:26. > :34:30.dinghies. Five more than the Swiss. The attacking from the front court,
:34:31. > :34:40.especially from Verge-Depre was the difference. And those pressure
:34:41. > :34:51.situations at front court. That is the standings. Consecutive losses
:34:52. > :34:59.for the Australian beer. They lost to the USA team. The USA have the
:35:00. > :35:07.triple Olympic champions. The Swiss pair go momentarily to the top of
:35:08. > :35:10.the group standings. The Swiss peer assigning the balls and join the
:35:11. > :35:14.celebrations. The Australians were waving their flags after the first
:35:15. > :35:19.set but they put them down and the third set. Another victory chopped
:35:20. > :35:23.up for the Swiss peer. We will be back at the Copacabana for more
:35:24. > :35:27.women's beach volleyball but now we will go to the eventing. We told you
:35:28. > :35:33.earlier on that Great Britain were doing really well. Very well placed
:35:34. > :35:37.in the team event. Fourth after the first two days of dressage. William

:36:04. > :36:06.cross-country and jumping. Competition takes place over
:36:07. > :36:10.consecutive days and athletes must use the same horse threw out.
:36:11. > :36:15.Results for all three disciplines count for both the individual and
:36:16. > :36:19.the team events. It is only the scores of the top three competitors
:36:20. > :36:23.from each country that count towards the team competition. In the
:36:24. > :36:26.dressage phase, the obedience, flexibility and harmony of the
:36:27. > :36:30.athlete with the horse are all evaluated and marked by the judges.
:36:31. > :36:35.The objective of the cross-country segment is to test the ability of
:36:36. > :36:47.the athlete and horse to adaptive variable conditions

:36:53. > :36:59.negotiating 10-12 obstacles. They must clear the scores with as few
:37:00. > :37:05.penalties as possible. The second is a test for the 25 West placed
:37:06. > :37:09.athletes who participate in the final individual jumping test. At
:37:10. > :37:16.the end of the competition, the best rider or team across all three
:37:17. > :37:21.disciplines wins the Gold Medal. STUDIO: Let us go over now to the
:37:22. > :37:28.Deodoro and the equestrian centre. Great Britain having won five medals
:37:29. > :37:31.at London 2012, they could win the first equestrian medal of the
:37:32. > :37:38.Olympic Games here. They are well placed in the team event and the
:37:39. > :37:43.individual event. Michael Tucker and Ian Stark are the commentators.
:37:44. > :37:55.COMMENTATOR: Still running on at 50.4 zero. Penalty still to add to
:37:56. > :37:57.that. 55 after the dressage. It was a good effort from this young
:37:58. > :38:13.combination. They are probably enjoy a cold

:38:19. > :38:24.scrape it off. It absorbs the heat from the skin of the horse. It
:38:25. > :38:32.brings the core temperature down very quickly. It is aggressive

:38:37. > :38:55.of running. It is only a nine-year-old.
:38:56. > :39:01.This competition is really coming to the boil and this is the reason why
:39:02. > :39:07.for the British followers. He is 47-year-old William Fox-Pitt. He has
:39:08. > :39:10.been the number one in the world on many occasions. He has won an
:39:11. > :39:29.Olympic medals and major championships. He sets off. His
:39:30. > :39:32.horses Chilli Morning. Dressage comes first, then it is
:39:33. > :39:39.cross-country. This is his nearest competitor. The Australian
:39:40. > :39:50.Christopher Burton. He has flown round so far. His horses Santano Ii.
:39:51. > :40:06.We think he has not had many penalties. It was the Frenchman that
:40:07. > :40:10.has done it. Astier Nicolas?. Room had a horrible accident, he had a
:40:11. > :40:14.horrible fall and France. He had an amazing recovery to take up this
:40:15. > :40:22.Olympic challenge. Those first three fences are all pill for William.
:40:23. > :40:28.This is what at things four. You have to get the angle to the log. He
:40:29. > :40:32.makes that. There has been quite a few problems are. Horses running
:40:33. > :40:35.pass that blog. It is great forward Liam to get that out of the way.
:40:36. > :40:41.What was impressive was that William kept a very strong riding position
:40:42. > :40:47.so he could steal the horse. This man comes home. Check on the watch.
:40:48. > :40:52.It is the man looking to get under ten minutes and 15 seconds and go
:40:53. > :40:58.into the lead. This is a young horse that he has always fought so much
:40:59. > :41:02.of. Another quick check. You must be very close. He must be on the time
:41:03. > :41:06.and he does not want to get it wrong. He is looking but he's not
:41:07. > :41:14.overriding to that finish. He thinks he is inside that time. A brilliant
:41:15. > :41:20.effort. He is a cremation marked 37.6. William will not know this. He
:41:21. > :41:25.has to do exactly the same if he wants to stay in the lead. 21
:41:26. > :41:34.competitors have gone and only two inside the time so far. These are
:41:35. > :41:38.tricky at fence six. There has been hardly anyone had a direct line of
:41:39. > :41:44.these corners. It is difficult to get a straight vote. You have to use
:41:45. > :41:48.a bending manoeuvre. And jump across that first corner.
:41:49. > :41:55.Great shot of the horse and the rider. William has got his eyes on
:41:56. > :42:00.the second element. He never takes his eyes off. He lets the horse get
:42:01. > :42:05.on with his job. If you are walking that fence on the ground, the line
:42:06. > :42:10.is less than the eye of a needle, the line that they have to take.
:42:11. > :42:15.That was lovely riding from William. He has tried to get himself fit for
:42:16. > :42:18.this Olympic Games. His last important competition at Barbary, he
:42:19. > :42:22.looked very good as he has done in preparation for the Olympic Games.
:42:23. > :42:27.He knows he has to be on song at the wants to win an Olympic gold. He has
:42:28. > :42:44.won individual medals at the Olympic Games but not gold. Very nearly at
:42:45. > :42:49.Athens with Tamarrillo. He has given us a thrilling spectators time. He
:42:50. > :42:55.is jumping the direct path and is making it convincing. That is a
:42:56. > :43:04.great shot through the keyhole. You can hear the horse brushing through.
:43:05. > :43:12.The cameras are attached that fence. Dispenses caused a problem or two.
:43:13. > :43:19.It is a step up. That was well read. Excellent, actually. He got a very
:43:20. > :43:26.good stride up. He kept accelerating. That is an enormous
:43:27. > :43:34.log with a drop. And Chilli Morning looks like he is in fighting form.
:43:35. > :43:44.He won Badminton in 2015. He is now right in the mix. This has been one
:43:45. > :43:50.of the reasons why William has worked so hard over recent months
:43:51. > :43:53.with a great team around him. To get to this position. He saved this
:43:54. > :44:10.horse for the Olympic Games. The next to go wait in the wings. Tim
:44:11. > :44:20.Lips from the Netherlands. He is with Bayro who had decent dressage.
:44:21. > :44:33.Not in a great hurry to the first offence.
:44:34. > :44:39.Chilli Morning galloping along relentlessly. Looking effort was
:44:40. > :44:50.covering the ground brilliantly. He is picked up in the piece, I feel.
:44:51. > :44:55.He's taking his time get back. It is an incredible effort that William is
:44:56. > :44:59.back at the Olympics already. He has not rushed himself, he has given
:45:00. > :45:03.himself and the horse time. Chilli Morning has not done a lot of
:45:04. > :45:05.competing in the last eight months. He is one of if not the best horse
:45:06. > :45:16.in the world. Won an individual bronze in the
:45:17. > :45:23.World Championships in 2014. Britain took silver behind the Germans.
:45:24. > :45:30.William would love to put that right. What was, of course, the
:45:31. > :45:44.world title of Sandro Wagner. He's been around, she's had one refusal.
:45:45. > :45:54.-- Sandra Auffarth. Just setting up, getting organised. Gets V3 stride,
:45:55. > :46:14.makes the turn. But he didn't present. -- the three stride. It is
:46:15. > :46:17.sadly a 20 penalties. Some of these fences are very well numbered and
:46:18. > :46:20.lettered because there are places where you can actually take a turn
:46:21. > :46:24.and others where you can't take a turn. Something has got to be going
:46:25. > :46:51.on in that head. It's not easy. So, on the go. Tim Lips with Bayro.
:46:52. > :46:58.He's gone round at six. Thou be a lot more go round and go direct
:46:59. > :47:06.there. It's such a very risky line, that. A direct route. A huge jump.
:47:07. > :47:10.And you can see Tim turning in there, getting ready for the turn.
:47:11. > :47:17.His body is already inclined that way. The horse follows him. They
:47:18. > :47:22.always say the rider looks ahead, the horse follows your eye. William
:47:23. > :47:30.taking the longer route. I think that's a team plan. A huge risk
:47:31. > :47:35.going the direct line there. An unnecessary risk, considered by
:47:36. > :47:38.most. We have seen that risk and Ford, too. That would have gone
:47:39. > :47:48.round the team is very, very quickly. The third of the four
:47:49. > :47:53.waters. William through that. He's lovely stallion, Chilli Morning,
:47:54. > :47:56.already with some lovely young horses. A very exciting stallion,
:47:57. > :48:09.but a very capable one, too. That was a frustrating 20. It was a
:48:10. > :48:16.technical 20 that William got there, rather than anything else. It out as
:48:17. > :48:25.the great Mark Todd gets underway. The number two rider from New
:48:26. > :48:38.Zealand. He had a score of 44 following dressage. We see William
:48:39. > :48:46.Fox-Pitt, he on a 20. He's not alone. He comes to the final water.
:48:47. > :48:50.This water has caused various problems. A lot of changes plans
:48:51. > :48:58.here. I think you have to have plan A, B and C in your head and be ready
:48:59. > :49:04.to change at any point. This is where the course designer has done a
:49:05. > :49:13.fantastic job. It's there in three and two. Ben Turner in three, good.
:49:14. > :49:16.Brilliant. -- then turn in three. Coming out of that water they still
:49:17. > :49:22.have to climb onto the top of this hill and that is a massive table, a
:49:23. > :49:29.massive spread. Chilli Morning just stepped over it. The front bar of
:49:30. > :49:37.that bridge was actually put there by a crane because it was so heavy.
:49:38. > :49:42.So he is over the time. Not hugely. Coming down to the last ten minutes
:49:43. > :49:51.and 15 seconds. You can see these seconds ticking away. Some 22
:49:52. > :50:07.seconds and counting. As he stopped the clock. 30.40, including that 20.
:50:08. > :50:11.That's a real shame, really not what we wanted from William Fox-Pitt
:50:12. > :50:15.coming into the cross country today. He was leading the individual event,
:50:16. > :50:20.but he may well have fallen away. Let's bring in Lee McKenzie down at
:50:21. > :50:24.the Equestrian Centre in Deodoro. I was hoping to come to you on better
:50:25. > :50:27.terms, but it seems like we may have seen William Fox-Pitt not just
:50:28. > :50:32.slipping away from the gold medal but maybe all of the medals. You
:50:33. > :50:37.must keep in mind what William has been true over the last ten months.
:50:38. > :50:41.Let's take a look over my shoulder. You can see Chilli Morning getting
:50:42. > :50:46.calls down. He will be frustrated because that is what has made him so
:50:47. > :50:51.good over those years. But he has been through so much over the last
:50:52. > :50:57.ten months. He only actually started competing again a few months ago. I
:50:58. > :51:01.think you'll be delighted to have got round this course. Nobody wants
:51:02. > :51:05.to have a run out or get those time penalties, but this is a course
:51:06. > :51:09.where you do have too compromised slightly. If you're going to take
:51:10. > :51:12.the long roots then you will incur time penalties. I spoke to
:51:13. > :51:18.Christopher Burton who took the long route and he did not get any time
:51:19. > :51:22.penalties. He is now the man on the lead -- in the lead on a young,
:51:23. > :51:27.inexperienced horse. William is speaking to his coach over my
:51:28. > :51:32.shoulder. William is such a tough competitor. Rio was his aim to get
:51:33. > :51:36.back, to rehabilitate, to compete again. Chilli Morning has been a
:51:37. > :51:41.long-time servant to him. One of his best friends, he always says. This
:51:42. > :51:46.will be Chilli Morning's last competition. We all hope it won't be
:51:47. > :51:54.William's. The most important thing is that he got round safely. We need
:51:55. > :52:00.the next two Midas, hippie final and Kitty King, too going and keep us in
:52:01. > :52:07.with a chance on the team final. -- Pippa Funnell.
:52:08. > :52:10.Thank you for bringing us up to date down there. A shame, but William
:52:11. > :52:16.Fox-Pitt did say that he was just lucky to be here. He really did show
:52:17. > :52:21.for the majority of that ride that he had had such a terrible trauma in
:52:22. > :52:25.the last ten months. -- he really didn't show. We will move away from
:52:26. > :52:28.the eventing and talk to you about the beach volleyball. Just to
:52:29. > :52:34.explain to you how the women's competition goes. There are 24 teams
:52:35. > :52:40.split into six pools of four. The top to automatically qualify for the
:52:41. > :52:45.knockout stages. As do the two best third placed teams. The remaining
:52:46. > :52:49.four play-off for the two lucky loser spots. Sounds complicated.
:52:50. > :52:58.Let's keep it simple and it just shows you women's Paul BB curve it
:52:59. > :53:04.concerns the Brazilian pair. -- pool B. It is a Brazilian pair against
:53:05. > :53:07.the Argentinian pair, and all South American clash down there at Koko
:53:08. > :53:13.manner. We will join in the second set with the Brazilian 's leading by
:53:14. > :53:20.one set. It looks great down there. Just how great is it going for the
:53:21. > :53:23.home nation? COMMENTATOR: the sun has broken
:53:24. > :53:32.through the clouds, it is a glorious day. We are witnessing the world
:53:33. > :53:45.champions, Bednarczuk and Barbara Seixas. The Argentinians are getting
:53:46. > :53:57.going in this second set. 2-0, the advantage.
:53:58. > :54:07.Great desperation from Argentina, keeping themselves in this rally.
:54:08. > :54:17.Finished off at the front courts by Agatha Bednarczuk. Nice placement,
:54:18. > :54:51.down the line. That was an". Really a golden chance
:54:52. > :55:05.missed by Georgina Klug. She knows it, too. -- that was an open
:55:06. > :55:31.First effort rappel. Ana Gallay just rolls the second. Here is Georgina
:55:32. > :55:35.Klug. Point to Argentina. Well awarded, too. They worked hard for
:55:36. > :55:42.that point. They covered a lot of court and in the end just came off
:55:43. > :55:57.the hands. Good work by Georgina Klug. Often aims for the edge of the
:55:58. > :55:59.block. That is pinpoint accuracy, Barbara lashing the left-handed
:56:00. > :56:29.winner. Just a touch, not doing themselves
:56:30. > :56:44.any favours with the returns are at that point. Didn't go for too much
:56:45. > :56:56.of the French court winner. 4-3. 21 points to 11 in the opening set.
:56:57. > :57:10.A block at the frontcourt made by Ana Gallay. Argentina responding
:57:11. > :57:23.well in this second set. Nice timing here with the block. Straight back
:57:24. > :57:28.at the Brazilian pair. Argentina serving that one into the net.
:57:29. > :57:30.Getting momentum, to build their game. They've opened the door again
:57:31. > :57:54.for Brazil. Well done, again, at the front by
:57:55. > :58:18.Ana Gallay. Consistently working the attack. Coming off the hands.
:58:19. > :58:26.She can't find the winner, a little bit off-balance. Needing to adjust
:58:27. > :58:38.their rolling attempt. Argentina with a useful 7-4 advantage.
:58:39. > :58:44.There's plenty of football rivalry between these two nations as we saw
:58:45. > :58:53.at the 2014 Fifa World Cup. Argentina went on to make the final.
:58:54. > :58:57.Brazil were humbled. The rivalry stretches to all forms of sport with
:58:58. > :59:09.these two powerhouses of South America. A good strong swing by
:59:10. > :59:17.Georgina Klug the game. It certainly is a powerful position at the front
:59:18. > :59:30.of the court. A nice set here by Ana Gallay. A big hit. Straight through
:59:31. > :59:43.the middle. Just missing on the service from Argentina. -- the
:59:44. > :59:51.serves. The total of four fault serves for Argentina so forth. Only
:59:52. > :00:06.one for Brazil. Getting in the right position makes all the difference.
:00:07. > :00:07.Georgina Klug sending that one over the
