:00:00. > :00:00.applause, brilliant stuff. Gentlemen, thank you for that, well

:00:00. > :00:09.worth waiting for. It is day four of the Olympics, from our base, high

:00:10. > :00:16.time that we brought you the headlines.

:00:17. > :00:23.Agonising fifth place for Tonia Couch and Lois Toulson in the ten

:00:24. > :00:30.metre women's synchro earlier as China and the gold -- took the gold.

:00:31. > :00:34.A huge win for Johanna Konta in the tennis, coming from a set down to

:00:35. > :00:38.beat Svetlana Kuznetsova and she is into the quarterfinals where she

:00:39. > :00:45.will play Sam Stosur or Angelique Kerber. Andy Murray is also three.

:00:46. > :00:49.Katherine Grainger remains on course to win a fifth Olympic medal, she

:00:50. > :00:56.and her partner Vicky Thornley booked their spot in the double

:00:57. > :00:59.sculls final in the rowing today. Not such good news for Joe Godinet

:01:00. > :01:11.whose challenge is over in the lightweight boxing as it finished in

:01:12. > :01:15.the last 16 -- Joe Cordina. And it was also pretty dismal for the

:01:16. > :01:19.equestrian team, the first time since 1996 in Atlanta they have

:01:20. > :01:25.failed to win a medal in the team eventing as France took the gold. We

:01:26. > :01:35.can show you what is happening on BBC One the moment. We will find out

:01:36. > :01:40.what is going on because it is the women's team gymnastics at the

:01:41. > :01:46.moment. Team GB have a real shout of a medal and if you want to watch

:01:47. > :01:50.that, it is on BBC One. All you can stay with us on BBC Four. This is

:01:51. > :01:58.what is happening in the next few hours. We will have some hockey,

:01:59. > :02:04.Team GB are in action. We have more sevens coming up at 10:30pm with

:02:05. > :02:08.Fiji against Argentina, Fiji looking for the first ever Olympic medal.

:02:09. > :02:14.And at midnight we will have an update on all of the sailing. So

:02:15. > :02:19.many of the sailors in with a real chance of a medal. Let's bring you

:02:20. > :02:29.up-to-date with the hockey and show you what is happening in Great

:02:30. > :02:33.Britain's group. A reminder, not too good so far, no wins in the

:02:34. > :02:38.competition, one draw and one defeat. They are taking on Brazil

:02:39. > :02:43.who are the only team below them. As we will bring you that shortly but

:02:44. > :02:46.as we said earlier, in terms of getting inspired, we heard it from

:02:47. > :02:51.James Rodwell when it came to the rugby, and from so many athletes in

:02:52. > :02:55.the Olympics, it is four long years to make sure that when you come to

:02:56. > :03:29.Rio, you are in the best possible position. Hockey is no different.

:03:30. > :03:36.It has just gone 10pm at home, we can bring new commentary from Great

:03:37. > :03:40.Britain against Brazil. We will have that rugby sevens in about half an

:03:41. > :03:47.hour but we will pick up on this with Simon Mason and Matt Chilton.

:03:48. > :03:55.A difficult start for great Wotan -- for Great Britain against Brazil who

:03:56. > :04:00.are yet to score in the tournament but they have a penalty corner after

:04:01. > :04:08.less than four minutes of the match. Great Britain camped out ready to

:04:09. > :04:15.defend. Stephane Vehrle-Smith could be the one to watch, the number

:04:16. > :04:26.nine. It is tucked inside and they score! What a start for the host

:04:27. > :04:29.nation! It went to a right-hand castle, no surprise, he knows what

:04:30. > :04:36.George Pinner can do because he plays for the same club team in

:04:37. > :04:41.Great Britain. I did not think he would get it round him but it was a

:04:42. > :04:45.long drag and as we said, there would be a cheer if Brazil opened

:04:46. > :04:52.the scoring and they have. Stefan Bradl Smith nailed it for Brazil,

:04:53. > :05:02.their first goal of the Olympics. What a start, 1-0 to Brazil. It

:05:03. > :05:08.could be a pretty tournament to say the least for the men in red and

:05:09. > :05:17.white. They lost heavily against Belgium. 4-1, and only managed up

:05:18. > :05:24.point against New Zealand -- a point. And they are now behind

:05:25. > :05:32.against outright underdogs Brazil. At the end of the game against

:05:33. > :05:42.Belgium when Brazil got taken apart, 12-0, some of their players were in

:05:43. > :05:47.tears. Now that goal gives them a bit of confidence that they can

:05:48. > :05:56.achieve something in the tournament. Read Britain with a couple of early

:05:57. > :06:05.chances. Now Ashley Jackson who looks to re-establish a bit of calm.

:06:06. > :06:11.Henry Weir. The British boys not used to getting booed every time

:06:12. > :06:17.they get stick on ball. They were played in front of some crowd that

:06:18. > :06:21.don't want to cheer them before. Great experienced performers but it

:06:22. > :06:28.is not often you go somewhere and get booed from minute one! That is

:06:29. > :06:32.the Brazilian way. I went to watch them play basketball against Belarus

:06:33. > :06:38.in the women's tournament earlier and the hostility to the opposition

:06:39. > :06:44.players was extreme. Gleghorne has got separated from his midfield. He

:06:45. > :06:50.was still out, maybe couldn't hear the call from behind him. Great

:06:51. > :06:58.Britain leading man high, I am not sure Gleghorne can separate the play

:06:59. > :07:05.on his own. Ashley Jackson picks it up. And he finds Henry Weir on the

:07:06. > :07:13.right. He has got it under control now. On his way forward. He looks

:07:14. > :07:22.back and find Iain Lewers who sweeps it left. Now back to Jackson.

:07:23. > :07:27.Jackson at the centre back position at this stage. Number nine for Great

:07:28. > :07:40.Britain is Harry Martin. Jackson again. Four British men in the

:07:41. > :07:44.circle waiting for some service. I'm not sure white Jackson is this far

:07:45. > :07:58.back, he is one of the best elimination midfielders in the game.

:07:59. > :08:02.-- I'm not sure why. Simon Mantell was brought into the site because

:08:03. > :08:09.Alastair Brogdon broke a finger and he has been forced to withdraw but

:08:10. > :08:13.replaced by Simon Mantell who is vastly experienced and could add

:08:14. > :08:34.some then upfront. -- venom upfront. Jackson. Great Britain have to put

:08:35. > :08:40.people between the Brazilian lines. If you imagine defence and midfield

:08:41. > :08:44.and attacking Lance, you put yourself in between them so the path

:08:45. > :08:55.beat the defensive line. You don't have to dribble it through. Jackson

:08:56. > :08:59.takes it on and find his captain. Now

:09:00. > :09:12.-- now Michael Hoare. That is behind. Have Brazil got the

:09:13. > :09:17.conditioning to cope with yet another tough, physical game.

:09:18. > :09:22.Belgium were outstanding with their patients, they held the ball for

:09:23. > :09:26.long periods in the first quarter. -- patience. They were looking for a

:09:27. > :09:32.shooting opportunity and that is a good save but that is a goal for

:09:33. > :09:39.Great Britain. Adam Dixon finishes it. The first shot was not the

:09:40. > :09:47.cleanest strike. The goalkeeper got a foot on it but it popped out to

:09:48. > :09:52.Dixon. One touch, add to the edge of the circle, Middleton does not

:09:53. > :09:54.connect well, Dixon get enough under it and get the face of the stick

:09:55. > :10:10.open. In for the equaliser. 1-1. Seven minutes of the first

:10:11. > :10:33.period to play. Lovely little fake inside by

:10:34. > :10:36.Maarten, he showed the ball down the line, opened up his body and tucked

:10:37. > :10:52.inside as the defender committed to reverse stick.

:10:53. > :11:03.Brazil threatening again. Great Britain forced to tidy up and press

:11:04. > :11:07.forward once more. It is a bold and confident full-court press, quite

:11:08. > :11:13.happy to step up which is brilliant to see, a team like them who could

:11:14. > :11:17.quite happily sit back at half court and simply play damage limitation.

:11:18. > :11:24.For them to get out and play in front of their home crowd is a great

:11:25. > :11:30.opportunity for them and a showcase. The first goal for Brazil, the first

:11:31. > :11:34.goal of their tournament coming from Stephane Val Smith and then the

:11:35. > :11:39.equaliser from Adam Dixon to make it 1-1 -- Stephane Val Smith --

:11:40. > :11:58.Stephane Vehrle-Smith. Jackson. Michael Hoare. Martin. He

:11:59. > :12:03.leaves it for Middleton shows good speed to the edge of the circle,

:12:04. > :12:08.flicks it forward and Mantell had a jab at it but could not get any

:12:09. > :12:14.purchase and Brazil are defending pretty solidly in the opening stages

:12:15. > :12:20.here. That is harsh on Vehrle-Smith, I thought he had won the

:12:21. > :12:29.obstruction. Great bit of skill. But not given. Into the circle once

:12:30. > :12:36.more. Martin. To the baseline and a shot and it is wide. Iain Lewers has

:12:37. > :12:41.got a delightful eye for the ball. We have seen some impressive

:12:42. > :12:43.clearances and this just pops back. First-time half volley, that does

:12:44. > :13:04.not miss by much. David Ames tangling with Lucas

:13:05. > :13:15.Paixao. 23 for Brazil, Chris McPherson. Henry Weir. Maybe a touch

:13:16. > :13:19.too much. Great Britain remain in possession with men forward.

:13:20. > :13:25.Middleton them inside the circle, might go for the reverse and he

:13:26. > :13:31.scores! A comfortable goal, Barry Middleton find the back of the net

:13:32. > :13:36.and Great Britain are leading 2-1. Faustino has been exceptional, the

:13:37. > :13:42.Brazilian goalkeeper but he was caught on his heels. His body weight

:13:43. > :13:47.is backwards, it has got under way to his -- underneath his right

:13:48. > :13:54.glove. He got a bit too close and he shied away as Middleton has crashed

:13:55. > :13:57.it in. I think Faustino will be disappointed. He has made some

:13:58. > :14:03.outstanding saves in this tournament. And the captain, Barry

:14:04. > :14:08.Middleton, gets a rest for his troubles. 2-1. Aerial ball and that

:14:09. > :14:27.will be harmless. Great Britain still have to play

:14:28. > :14:32.Australia and Spain, two of the big, form sides, two of their biggest

:14:33. > :14:35.challenges lying ahead. This on paper should be comfortable and it

:14:36. > :14:41.is beginning to look more comfortable now with the 2-1 lead.

:14:42. > :14:45.Possibilities to extend that. David Ames passes it to his left and Great

:14:46. > :14:58.Britain have possession and the free hit. Ian Sloan in the circle.

:14:59. > :15:07.Across the face and up and away. Better structure from Great Britain,

:15:08. > :15:11.moments ago the suggestion was that they were going a bit one on one,

:15:12. > :15:15.trying to eliminate through midfield when there was so much space down

:15:16. > :15:20.the flanks, particularly when they can drive through one side and come

:15:21. > :15:21.back into the other corner, they will find the baseline spaces

:15:22. > :15:35.easily. Daniel Fox, click forward for

:15:36. > :15:44.Nicholas Catlin. Find David Condon. That is behind. Last couple of

:15:45. > :15:45.minutes of the quarter. Encouraging start for the Brazilian coach and

:15:46. > :15:59.his team. Adam Dixon, puts it all the way back

:16:00. > :16:13.for Ian Luers who switches it, Daniel Fox involved. Flick inside.

:16:14. > :16:20.Henry Wear skids to a stop. Not enough pace on the ball for Sam

:16:21. > :16:25.Ward. It feels like Great Britain are holding. The difficulty is

:16:26. > :16:29.because you do not have a huge amount of opposition, the physical

:16:30. > :16:33.intensity drops and they need to continue to make sure, they only

:16:34. > :16:44.have four men in the back, forcing the forwards high to stretch the

:16:45. > :16:48.resilience. Nice touch and turn, still the pressure continues. Some

:16:49. > :16:57.Ward. Leave that for Nicholas Catlin. -- Sam Ward. All the way

:16:58. > :17:04.back for Henry Weir. Daniel Fox again. Ashley Jackson, outstretched

:17:05. > :17:14.and unable to connect. Last minute of the quarter. What an interesting

:17:15. > :17:18.start, Great Britain a goal behind in the first three or four minutes

:17:19. > :17:23.and then they struck back first of all with Adam Dixon and then Barry

:17:24. > :17:27.Middleton to put Great Britain 2-1 in front and they have a chance of

:17:28. > :17:38.adding to that, Ashley Jackson find his flow. Finds Nicholas Catlin, now

:17:39. > :17:47.Jackson takes it back. Fox, diagonal ball. Ten seconds until the Guta.

:17:48. > :17:53.The end of the first quarter. Henry Weir is driven into the circle. The

:17:54. > :17:59.Brazilians should put this clear and safe before the Guta. There it is,

:18:00. > :18:10.good first period of play. Score after the first 15 minutes at the

:18:11. > :18:15.Diadoro, it is 2-1 to Great Britain. Strains first quarter, almost as if

:18:16. > :18:22.Great Britain were a little complacent but they soon got a

:18:23. > :18:27.wake-up call. -- strange. Michael Holt was punished for our lack of

:18:28. > :18:31.discipline. Even a team like Rozelle, if you give them a set

:18:32. > :18:36.piece chance, it is something you can practice and deliver up to

:18:37. > :18:40.standard, they may not have the practice time in terms of technical

:18:41. > :18:56.ability but they can certainly deliver -- Brazil.

:18:57. > :19:05.Some of the highlights here. These were the early opportunities. David

:19:06. > :19:13.Condon should have opened the scoring. Then Brazil had a chance, a

:19:14. > :19:19.great spin to get around Daniel Fox. Very little that George Pinner can

:19:20. > :19:26.do. Great Britain do come back into it, about was the first ever goal

:19:27. > :19:30.for Brazil in Olympic hockey and one to savour, greater penalty corner

:19:31. > :19:38.and then Great Britain striker that. Adam Dixon getting the equaliser --

:19:39. > :19:42.strike back. This was Barry Middleton's individual goal. Firing

:19:43. > :19:48.that into the top corner to put Great Britain 2-1 in front. Foisting

:19:49. > :20:09.oh disappointed. -- Faustino. Brazil in bright green

:20:10. > :20:24.too much the borders of the pitch. Left to right. -- to match. Barry

:20:25. > :20:30.Middleton. This is Patrick. He is doing a lot of running here. He has

:20:31. > :20:39.got himself a free hit, six for Brazil. There are number five.

:20:40. > :20:45.Lopez. A bit of ball juggling. Trying to get around Michael Hall.

:20:46. > :20:50.The suggestion to me from the early running intensity of Great Britain

:20:51. > :20:54.is that their coach has given them a bit of a rocket, the whole thing was

:20:55. > :20:59.probably 10% lower than he would have liked. There was no real

:21:00. > :21:11.intensity consistently through the first 15 minutes. Aerial ball, cut

:21:12. > :21:22.out by the Brazilian defenders. The Brazilian number seven. Middleton.

:21:23. > :21:26.Patrick was hoping to get a break but Jackson pushes it towards the

:21:27. > :21:36.circle and it is cleared away. Brazil get a free hit. Precision

:21:37. > :21:42.lacking from Great Britain, the ball into David Condon was accurate and

:21:43. > :21:48.powerful from Jackson. The Brazilians are close enough to get

:21:49. > :22:00.that stick in and knock the ball away.

:22:01. > :22:07.Great Britain once again pushing forward. Push forward, the

:22:08. > :22:11.goalkeeper called into action for a second time, appeals for a penalty

:22:12. > :22:17.corner but none is forthcoming. Great ball from Iain Lewers, touched

:22:18. > :22:23.well from Sam Ward to the goalkeeper. The suggestion is that

:22:24. > :22:33.David Condon played it high into the Brazilian defender. Suggesting that

:22:34. > :22:40.it was going away on goal. -- from goal. Smith, the goal-scorer for

:22:41. > :22:48.Brazil, running out of room. Henry Weir, Ashley Jackson. Harry Martin

:22:49. > :22:53.making a run up front, might find him eventually but they have gone

:22:54. > :22:58.back for the moment to Iain Lewers. He has his eye on an individual

:22:59. > :23:10.excursion forwards. That was high to the stick of Henry Weir. Free hit to

:23:11. > :23:17.Great Britain. Nicholas Catlin. Jackson to Iain Lewers. Little push

:23:18. > :23:22.over the top I Daniel Fox and they have lost out again. Feeling that

:23:23. > :23:43.Daniel Fox's little left was high. That is a wasted pass from Patrick.

:23:44. > :23:50.Robbie Crutchley pacing in front of the great writ in Dublin -- dugout.

:23:51. > :23:54.The Brazilian supporters encouraged by what they have seen so far, the

:23:55. > :24:04.first ever Brazilian goal in Olympic hockey. Here is Ashley Jackson.

:24:05. > :24:08.Michael Hoare, nice interplay between the two, Nicholas Catlin is

:24:09. > :24:16.looking for it, the flick towards was not that but he got high net. To

:24:17. > :24:21.open up another front, Great Britain. Daniel Fox. I would be

:24:22. > :24:25.critical of Great Britain in the circle, there is a lot of the Thames

:24:26. > :24:28.at first-time into place and it feels a little bit clever, with the

:24:29. > :24:32.Brazilian lack of experience, secure possession in the circle. They will

:24:33. > :24:38.be panicking about position and therefore you will get hit and take

:24:39. > :24:50.corners. Across from Daniel Fox is cut out and Brazil escape. --

:24:51. > :24:55.across. Ian Sloan. Dangerous looking cross from Ian Sloan.

:24:56. > :25:04.As it comes across, great off the right, the goalkeeper got in front

:25:05. > :25:07.of Henry Weir and he just got a top edge, was on the right place and

:25:08. > :25:14.that is what Great Britain have to do, come it to the forward attacks,

:25:15. > :25:22.Faustino has to police that area in front of his goal.

:25:23. > :25:33.As Rozelle head to halfway with under ten minutes until half-time.

:25:34. > :25:50.-- Brazil. Back they go to read group and rebuild. -- regroup.

:25:51. > :25:56.Sometimes the ball bobbles up on the pitch and makes the trap at high

:25:57. > :26:02.speed doubly difficult. Jackson. It is concerning for Great Britain that

:26:03. > :26:07.the ball can get that far. Great Britain back in the Brazil circle.

:26:08. > :26:13.Ball is out of play and Brazil will come away with possession. Simon

:26:14. > :26:19.Mantell, newly promoted to the full squad having been a reserve they

:26:20. > :26:32.are. Brought in following the injury to Alistair.

:26:33. > :26:39.Middleton gets a nice little flick on and gets off-balance but manages

:26:40. > :26:49.to stay upright and get into the circle. Nicholas Catlin. Michael

:26:50. > :26:54.Hoare. David Ames. Sharp and quick passing at the moment from the

:26:55. > :27:00.British players, Michael Hoare again, nowhere to go but backwards.

:27:01. > :27:05.Iain Lewers needs to hold the forward position or that release

:27:06. > :27:10.forces Great Britain too far away from the Brazilian goal. Five red

:27:11. > :27:17.shirts in the Brazilian circle but the Brazilians get away with the

:27:18. > :27:21.ball. Gleghorn is brought down and that is a penalty corner for Great

:27:22. > :27:26.Britain. All of his own making, a delightful little touch to knock the

:27:27. > :27:35.ball away. It is an agricultural tackle. Gleghorn was hacked down,

:27:36. > :27:51.Great Britain discussing their options for this penalty corner. And

:27:52. > :28:01.without Jackson, you have Simon Mantell and Gleghorne. Gleghorne.

:28:02. > :28:08.Simon Mantell. Over the top. Gleghorne not really getting the

:28:09. > :28:14.sort of directional quality he wanted. It went and out of danger.

:28:15. > :28:19.It is not far over, but surely you have to get shots on goal, hit the

:28:20. > :28:22.goalkeeper, pick up second phase, keep the ball alive in the circle

:28:23. > :28:32.and no these players want to score, they want to make their mark, but

:28:33. > :28:47.missing the target. Michael Hoare whack it defending. -- back

:28:48. > :29:00.defending. Iain Lewers. Now they have gone left. Back with Iain

:29:01. > :29:05.Lewers. Is normally in charge of the injections of the penalty corners.

:29:06. > :29:11.Bouncing ball to the far side, trapped by Daniel Fox, fix it on,

:29:12. > :29:17.nice turning from Nicholas Catlin, sweeping cross in, snuffed out in

:29:18. > :29:22.the Brazilian defence. They seem to be pretty alert tonight. They are

:29:23. > :29:28.doing well, managing to hold their shape, not committing that many

:29:29. > :29:33.people to the front line, two or three at times. Great Britain need

:29:34. > :29:37.to recognise that. Great Britain still had five in the back division,

:29:38. > :29:41.if they look at the numbers, they have to count it, keep one extra and

:29:42. > :29:50.throw everyone else passed the defensive front line.

:29:51. > :30:00.Another Great Britain attack led by Simon Mantell who is bundled over.

:30:01. > :30:06.There is another penalty corner for Great Britain. Unfortunately as the

:30:07. > :30:11.ball was carried forward, Harry Martin gets taken out. Standing up,

:30:12. > :30:21.into the running line of Harry Martin. He felt the full force of

:30:22. > :30:33.two Brazilians, one on either side. Simon Mantell and Gleghorne again.

:30:34. > :30:45.206 caps, and it is Gleghorne again. It is saved. And Brazil breakaway. A

:30:46. > :30:54.crescendo of noise as they power down. McPherson, into the circle.

:30:55. > :31:03.Dangerous moments for Great Britain. Dan Fox tidying up. That was a full

:31:04. > :31:09.sprint from both teams. Like one put it on goal and the second phase did

:31:10. > :31:18.not fall kindly. But that rebound position does give you a second

:31:19. > :31:21.opportunity. The Brazilian team feeding off the enthusiasm of the

:31:22. > :31:27.crowd here, probably the biggest we have seen in the tournament so far.

:31:28. > :31:37.There are still a couple of thousand empty seats at list. Martin to

:31:38. > :31:48.Ashley Jackson who is back on now. Iain Lewers. That is out. Barry

:31:49. > :31:52.Middleton could not keep it in. Still not a problem for Great

:31:53. > :31:56.Britain right now, they have a relatively comfortable lead but

:31:57. > :32:00.those tiny percentages, the possession starts to elude them.

:32:01. > :32:19.They could be worried later in the game.

:32:20. > :32:35.Fox, Martin. Harry Martin hoping to put this across the goal. A swing

:32:36. > :32:42.and a miss. Penalty corner. Foot in front of Faustino's goal. Martin

:32:43. > :32:51.flicks it across the space. The defender was unable to get his feet

:32:52. > :32:55.out of the way on the back post. Ashley Jackson was absent for the

:32:56. > :33:01.previous two penalty corners but he is back on the field of play now.

:33:02. > :33:06.Sam Ward alongside, you would expect Jackson to have a go at this.

:33:07. > :33:17.Penalty corner for Great Britain as they lead 2-1. Jackson is poised.

:33:18. > :33:24.Here we go. Jackson. Scores! Great Britain 3-1 in front. The penalty

:33:25. > :33:29.corner expert back on the field and he makes it pay immediately. The

:33:30. > :33:35.little double step move from Jackson meant that Faustino could not read

:33:36. > :33:39.the ball early. The double whip, you could see as he carried it in,

:33:40. > :33:45.accelerate and release down to the right hand of the goalkeeper with

:33:46. > :33:57.the post man unable to get anywhere near it. They cannot touch it away

:33:58. > :34:02.from danger. STUDIO: Just to let you know, we were promising you Fiji

:34:03. > :34:07.against Argentina but as you can see, this game has taken on some

:34:08. > :34:10.extra significance for Team GB so if you want to watch Fiji against

:34:11. > :34:18.Argentina, it is available now live on the Red Button or what you can

:34:19. > :34:22.watch it on the website or the BBC sport app. At half-time in this game

:34:23. > :34:25.we will bring you the best of the action from that final game in the

:34:26. > :34:32.rugby today and we will have action from USA against Brazil later as

:34:33. > :34:40.well. But now we will return to Great Britain and Brazil with Great

:34:41. > :34:45.Britain leading 3-1. COMMENTATOR: And Great Britain in a strong

:34:46. > :34:51.position, attacking the Brazilian goal with less than three minutes

:34:52. > :34:55.until half-time. Somehow the umpire has seen which stick that has come

:34:56. > :35:05.off. Middleton takes it to the circle.

:35:06. > :35:11.Great Britain appear to have set them selves that tactical objective

:35:12. > :35:16.of getting white and into the zone within four or five metres of the

:35:17. > :35:27.baseline and get it across the keeper -- getting wide. I am sure we

:35:28. > :35:31.will see more of this. Turn and go for Catlin but the ball was just a

:35:32. > :35:36.little too far in front but now Jackson takes it up on his own. He

:35:37. > :35:38.had David Condon to his right but could not find him. Good defence

:35:39. > :35:52.from Brazil. Great backhand from Ashley Jackson.

:35:53. > :35:58.He cut income onto his left foot, he tried it at Faustino, a great

:35:59. > :36:09.leading edge shot from Jackson but Faustino got his legs together.

:36:10. > :36:21.Lewers. Harry Martin, forcing his way into the circle and by our line

:36:22. > :36:29.up to have a go and they have a penalty corner. -- they are lining

:36:30. > :36:40.up. Jackson is still on the field. It was Vehrle-Smith again. It

:36:41. > :36:45.wobbles of a top edge onto his knee. The penalty corner formation

:36:46. > :36:51.forming. Iain Lewers has trotted out to get ready to inject, Jackson will

:36:52. > :36:56.suddenly want to have a pop at this having scored last time. --

:36:57. > :37:03.certainly. Harry Martin is not too far away. Sam Ward is also just

:37:04. > :37:11.behind the three who are patrolling the circle. Here we go. Jackson

:37:12. > :37:16.again. Charged down. What a great bit of defensive running from

:37:17. > :37:23.Patrick van der Heijden. The attack continues. Trying to slide it past

:37:24. > :37:31.the keeper, Middleton controlling things. He fires from an impossible

:37:32. > :37:38.angle. But not too far away come a terrific effort from Middleton. The

:37:39. > :37:43.last minute of the half. A brilliant effort from Middleton but even

:37:44. > :37:48.better goalkeeping from Faustino. Lewers goes across the face and

:37:49. > :37:56.Faustino with the big left kicker. He blocked it and got it clear. Spin

:37:57. > :38:00.and shot from Middleton. Faustino knows he is obstructing but he could

:38:01. > :38:12.move his legs and make sure the ball was still in play. Just about 15

:38:13. > :38:20.seconds until half-time. And a really good half of hockey here. And

:38:21. > :38:24.I think that will be the final play of the first half. Brazil have

:38:25. > :38:26.scored their first ever goal in Olympic Hockey Centre but it is

:38:27. > :38:34.Great Britain who lead the way at half-time, 3-1.

:38:35. > :38:42.Thank you, gentlemen, we will be back for the second half of that but

:38:43. > :38:45.we are going to bring you up-to-date with the rugby sevens. We have been

:38:46. > :38:52.following that throughout the day here. The USA were at the top of

:38:53. > :38:59.that group. Fiji are playing Argentina at the moment. We had the

:39:00. > :39:03.action from the other groups earlier involving Team GB, Japan, New

:39:04. > :39:07.Zealand and Kenya. In a moment we will show you what is happening

:39:08. > :39:15.between Fiji and Argentina but this is the action from the game so far.

:39:16. > :39:32.A huge hand holding the ball. He fends off players. Ravouvou hold it

:39:33. > :39:36.up and that is the power of Tuisova. They can run and dance but also

:39:37. > :39:43.thunder through tackles. You are right. When we saw them this morning

:39:44. > :39:49.against Brazil, they were not quite into the game but they were always

:39:50. > :39:53.going to beat Brazil. This is a different Fiji team and you can send

:39:54. > :39:57.the atmosphere and I think this team will be one of the great sight of

:39:58. > :40:02.the Olympics. The way they play the game, what they bring to the

:40:03. > :40:07.Olympics. To be fair, the Argentinians are tough guys and you

:40:08. > :40:11.are right, they will love the breakdowns and want to hit them.

:40:12. > :40:27.Franco Sabato as to consolidate. -- has to. Who can get up with Fernando

:40:28. > :40:33.Luna? Bautista Ezcurra can add it is going to be Franco Sabato to finish

:40:34. > :40:39.it off and we are going to be all square. Fiji conceded two tries to

:40:40. > :40:44.Brazil and now one to Argentina. I really like this Argentinian team,

:40:45. > :40:52.they are no-nonsense. Showing little respect for this Fijian team. Great

:40:53. > :40:55.play, we see Luna, one of the outstanding forward in the

:40:56. > :41:02.competition so far. This was just fantastic. The get it to Ezcurra,

:41:03. > :41:05.into Sabato and what an amazing score.

:41:06. > :41:12.STUDIO: Those were the only tries so far but we can now join it lived

:41:13. > :41:19.with Sir Clive Woodward and Eddie Butler. COMMENTATOR: The first try

:41:20. > :41:30.of the second half? We are going to have a review.

:41:31. > :41:39.The referee does not need to look, the try is scored. We began with an

:41:40. > :41:42.upset this morning when Japan beat New Zealand. Are we going to have

:41:43. > :41:53.one in the last game of the first day? Two very contrasting styles

:41:54. > :42:00.between the Argentinians, really going rude one, very physical

:42:01. > :42:07.towards the Fijian team. The forwards, Luna, Alvarez and Muller,

:42:08. > :42:12.have been magnificent. You saw the direct running with Alvarez scoring

:42:13. > :42:24.under the posts. Santiago Alvarez is the scorer. Wonderful support for

:42:25. > :42:29.the Argentinian team here. Revol. Our hand was put on the ball by

:42:30. > :42:37.Alvarez again and it went forward -- a hand. It was a great restart but

:42:38. > :42:41.he could not take it. It has been one of the most amazing days of

:42:42. > :42:47.rugby I have ever witnessed. We are in for a surprise here because Fiji

:42:48. > :42:50.are the red-hot favourites for the tournament and Argentina, ranked

:42:51. > :42:55.seventh, are giving it to them because they're forward are taking

:42:56. > :43:07.no nonsense from these big Fijians. -- their forwards. One of the 100

:43:08. > :43:20.off-loads but that is knocked on. That was against Taliga. Tuwai just

:43:21. > :43:23.losing the ball. There have been a few mistakes from Fiji and we only

:43:24. > :43:30.have four minute left. Argentina have been so physical. I cannot

:43:31. > :43:36.speak highly enough of the Argentinian forwards who have been

:43:37. > :43:39.brilliant. Juan Imhoff is on for Argentina, the flying winger who

:43:40. > :43:47.plays his club rugby in Paris. Matias Moroni is on as well. Imhoff

:43:48. > :43:57.is a wonderful player, played for Argentina at the rugby World Cup.

:43:58. > :44:01.Ezcurra with a forward pass and Fiji will have a put in at the scrum.

:44:02. > :44:09.Argentina will be annoyed about that, they had the ball and it was a

:44:10. > :44:16.basic error, running into each other with the ball-carrier giving it away

:44:17. > :44:20.to Fiji. Let's see what Fiji can do because they have been quiet so far

:44:21. > :44:24.in the second half. They come away with it. And here they go,

:44:25. > :44:34.stretching his legs, Vicky and Taliga. Try scored. -- Kitione

:44:35. > :44:42.Taliga. Matias Moroni did his best to get across.

:44:43. > :44:51.It is a difficult conversion, it was important moral need did something

:44:52. > :45:01.if only to keep Taliga out wide. The try is good. Great effort by Moroni.

:45:02. > :45:02.Argentina do not give up. A conversion from the touchline to

:45:03. > :45:18.come. It has been a wonderful day and this

:45:19. > :45:23.game is right up there. Look at the commitment from both players.

:45:24. > :45:31.Wonderful score. CG need about, they have been under the cosh. Argentina

:45:32. > :45:32.is giving it to them. Look at that to level the scores from the

:45:33. > :45:51.touchline. The captain. -- Fiji. You just saw the benefits of a great

:45:52. > :45:59.coach in action. Head down, Mullah gets up well. -- Axel Muller. Here

:46:00. > :46:13.is the switch of play. Matias Moroni. Juan Imhoff. That is a

:46:14. > :46:24.penalty to Fiji and they take it quickly. 24 will have to set that up

:46:25. > :46:44.and Fiji like that. They like it loose -- Kitione Taliga. Fiji are in

:46:45. > :46:51.the lead now. Wonderful try by Fiji. Wonderful defence. Too much pace,

:46:52. > :47:02.too much of loading for this all singing all dancing Fiji team. What

:47:03. > :47:08.a hit, what a pass. Kitione Taliga goes in, a wonderful game, takes two

:47:09. > :47:13.teams to make a game and Argentina have been right in it. Wonderful

:47:14. > :47:21.score. We are seeing the real Fiji now and you can see why they are

:47:22. > :47:26.favourites. He makes the gap seven points. It is this past coming up,

:47:27. > :47:31.one-handed, backhanded. As he is going onto his back, coming down

:47:32. > :47:39.hard, ending only of getting the ball away. It is not of loading, it

:47:40. > :47:51.is passing, all the time. Argentina, back in possession -- off-loading.

:47:52. > :47:57.That is a mistake. Viliame Mata comes away with the ball and

:47:58. > :48:05.suddenly Fiji turning on the power. It has gone Liz and forward, Jasa

:48:06. > :48:23.Veremalua. -- loose. The referee needs to sort this out.

:48:24. > :48:32.Vatemo Ravouvou could be in trouble here. You came in late and I will

:48:33. > :48:40.penalised you. That is a penalty. A word with the captain, penalty to

:48:41. > :48:46.Argentina. There has not been a bad incident today. Wonderful spirit by

:48:47. > :48:57.all the teams. Argentina have got one. The line-out is awarded with

:48:58. > :49:05.half a second to go. That was cutting it fine. They did really

:49:06. > :49:10.well. They realise they would not get the line-out throw. They have

:49:11. > :49:20.got one throw of the dice now to triangular level with Fiji. Axel

:49:21. > :49:33.Muller in the middle. It is him. It comes down safely. 29-macro out in

:49:34. > :49:44.the back. Juan Imhoff has to be involved. That finds German Schulz.

:49:45. > :49:49.Here goes Axel Muller. He cannot get a hand up, has to sling it back, the

:49:50. > :49:54.ball is out of play and the game will be over and Fiji, they do not

:49:55. > :50:01.squeeze through, but it has been tied enough. A great game to end the

:50:02. > :50:08.day here. First day of the men's competition in the rugby sevens, it

:50:09. > :50:14.is 21-14 to Fiji. Argentina went flat out for the line but they could

:50:15. > :50:17.not get there, the reigning world champions came through day one

:50:18. > :50:21.unbeaten but we have had upsets, New Zealand beaten by Japan. Fiji will

:50:22. > :50:35.go into day two unbeaten. It has been so good, the rugby

:50:36. > :50:39.sevens. I hope you are enjoying it. Even though that was the last game

:50:40. > :50:44.of the day, we will show you highlights from USA Brazil but took

:50:45. > :50:52.days earlier. A time for your diary tomorrow. 4:30 p.m., UK time, we

:50:53. > :50:57.will see Team GB take on New Zealand and that was the result of the day,

:50:58. > :51:03.Japan beating New Zealand earlier on on this Tuesday here in Rio. But are

:51:04. > :51:08.enjoying your evening, live sport were you look. We are going to go

:51:09. > :51:14.straight from the rugby sevens to the hockey were earlier we left it

:51:15. > :51:19.at half-time with Team GB leading Brazil by 3-0. Let us rejoin the

:51:20. > :51:29.game. The score remains the same. Simon Mason and Matt Chilton. Barry

:51:30. > :51:36.Middleton, the Great Britain skipper on the bench. Two minute suspension.

:51:37. > :51:44.He will be back shortly. Lively start to the second half. Both

:51:45. > :51:51.goalkeepers in action already in the second half of the match. There is

:51:52. > :51:58.another card here. A card for Nicholas Catlin being given for the

:51:59. > :52:08.cheque. Great Britain are down to nine at the moment. It seemed to be

:52:09. > :52:13.a personal penalty, not 18 penalty. Brazil threatening George Pinner.

:52:14. > :52:19.Forced to come to the rescue of Great Britain. He came to the rescue

:52:20. > :52:24.and Dixon had to pick it from the line behind him. Sam Ward on his way

:52:25. > :52:37.down the right, Brazil are two men over -- over. Rescued again by Sam

:52:38. > :52:44.Ward. Great Britain just need to hold possession. Brazil now are

:52:45. > :52:59.going to pick up a card. A yellow card. That will be five minutes on

:53:00. > :53:05.the sidelines for Imer. Three rapid cards, two for Great Britain and one

:53:06. > :53:20.for Imer from Brazil. He has a five minute suspension. I feel I is a

:53:21. > :53:39.little bit harsh. Daniel Fox to the edge of the circle the little flick.

:53:40. > :53:48.Harry Martin forced to retreat. It will be a Brazilian ball. It is

:53:49. > :53:49.Dixon with a good contact. The top edge goes over the shoulder of

:53:50. > :54:23.George Pinner. Across the face, good goalkeeping

:54:24. > :54:30.again from Faustino. He has been a hero for Brazil. Harry Martin has a

:54:31. > :54:39.shot at goal, a penalty corner for Great Britain. A sustained period of

:54:40. > :54:42.pressure. Rings it in, does not connect particularly well. Gets the

:54:43. > :54:52.stick from the defender into his own chest. Faustino sliding out, all the

:54:53. > :55:03.players in front of him. Ashley Jackson, Mark Gleghorn, two options

:55:04. > :55:08.here for Great Britain. Here we go, penalty corner. It is Jackson. A

:55:09. > :55:15.good save. Another opportunity, Mark Waghorn. It is out of the arena and

:55:16. > :55:23.bounces back on. I went over the highest part of the fence there. The

:55:24. > :55:33.video operators up there were in danger for a moment!

:55:34. > :55:54.Michael Hoare in the centre. Iain Lewers.

:55:55. > :56:07.Jackson to Michael Hoare. Henry Weir. Great Britain need to make two

:56:08. > :56:15.or three lateral passes to find the opening channel. Taken at shoulder

:56:16. > :56:20.height, a real Scrabble going on there. It has found the back of the

:56:21. > :56:29.Nike, a goal for Great Britain. What a mess that was but it is Harry

:56:30. > :56:33.Martin who gets the scorer. An odd finish after scrappy play. I think

:56:34. > :56:40.it was Iain Lewers who drove it into star web. A touch. Top shot to begin

:56:41. > :56:49.with, Middleton gets a smash around the face, a hint of a back stick, we

:56:50. > :56:54.will see here, is it a clean front edge or has Harry Martin hit it with

:56:55. > :56:58.the back of his stick. If that had been video referred, that would have

:56:59. > :57:04.been overturned. It had to have been squeezed in with the back of the

:57:05. > :57:10.stick. Harry Martin will not be denied, no video referral. Lack of

:57:11. > :57:14.experience there. It is for- one to Great Britain and they could add

:57:15. > :57:26.another. Attacking at base once more. -- pace. Four goals for Great

:57:27. > :57:27.Britain, Adam Dixon, Barry Middleton, Ashley Jackson and Harry

:57:28. > :57:52.Martin have all scored. Henry Weir at leading that front

:57:53. > :58:00.line, stepping through from a midfield position, almost creating

:58:01. > :58:07.the British front four. Now as Great Britain dominate, they're able to

:58:08. > :58:13.throw a man forward to create a front four man press. Nice little

:58:14. > :58:23.run, he is held up. Great Britain get possession. Coming away with

:58:24. > :58:32.Iain Lewers. Simon Mantell. Ian Sloan. Saved. Stick and ball is

:58:33. > :58:38.everywhere. Simon Mantell is claiming that he was struck did as

:58:39. > :58:48.the stick comes in front of him. First shot to Faustino, did well to

:58:49. > :58:57.block. Simon Mantell nails it. The umpire felt it was a clean and of

:58:58. > :59:09.compact -- contact. It is getting a little edgy now. Six and a half

:59:10. > :59:12.minutes of the third period to play. Gleghorne team penalised because he

:59:13. > :59:16.did not take the free hit from the right place and made no effort to

:59:17. > :59:21.stop the ball. If Great Britain tried to force it and the umpire

:59:22. > :59:25.decides they do not like the ball is taken from, it will get turned over.

:59:26. > :59:43.They do not need to do it, they just need composure.

:59:44. > :59:59.That is well held up. Little chink and a little turn, coming in slow.

:00:00. > :00:06.He surrenders possession. There was a great pick-up in the circle from a

:00:07. > :00:09.crash ball end. Brazil doing very well to release defenders from

:00:10. > :00:13.marking duties and to step forward to the ball-carrier. They managed to

:00:14. > :00:21.get two defenders to the ball in the circle.

:00:22. > :00:27.David Ames got punished by the umpire, suggesting it hit his body,

:00:28. > :00:33.I'm sure he would not have been smiling that much if it had.

:00:34. > :00:38.Mantell. A little burst of acceleration from a find Catlin.

:00:39. > :00:44.What a save! What outstanding goalkeeping. Great Britain have a

:00:45. > :00:48.penalty corner but you are right, that was incredible from Rodrigo

:00:49. > :00:55.Faustino. Catlin picked it up and drilled it across and Faustino Read

:00:56. > :01:01.it. The ball gets stuck underneath him which is why the corn is given.

:01:02. > :01:07.This is a brilliant bit of instinctive goalkeeping -- the

:01:08. > :01:15.corner. Great body position, high head, left and active. This is the

:01:16. > :01:20.other Brazilian goalkeeper. It is Faustino who has been one of the

:01:21. > :01:30.stars for them so far. Penalty corner, Jackson. No luck.

:01:31. > :01:40.Aerial ball. Brought down and controlled, into the circle, swept

:01:41. > :01:52.back. Catlin looking for a chance to shoot. And Brazil escape once more.

:01:53. > :01:58.Great defensive discipline from David Ames, he ran and ran to get

:01:59. > :02:04.his feet around his opponent, and he let the midfielder run into his

:02:05. > :02:15.stick and he drew the foul. Easy to give away a free hit. Good running.

:02:16. > :02:24.They are lining up. Middleton has a flick, Ward was just behind him. The

:02:25. > :02:33.danger is diverted at the moment from Brazil. Great Britain will now

:02:34. > :02:37.have half an eye on the scoreboard, there will know that there might be

:02:38. > :02:43.issues with goal difference. If they win their last games, that's fine.

:02:44. > :02:47.If result don't go your way, goal difference will come into it so they

:02:48. > :02:51.need to put themselves beyond what New Zealand do later in the

:02:52. > :03:03.tournament. Six teams in each group, four will progress.

:03:04. > :03:08.Brazil working wonders to get out of trouble here. What a bit of skill

:03:09. > :03:27.from Patrick Chenier -- Patrocinio. Another scramble in the circle. It

:03:28. > :03:33.doesn't matter what the scoreline is, when a player comes out with

:03:34. > :03:37.that kind of skill, Patrocinio, just delightful. He had three red shirts

:03:38. > :03:44.around him, close skill and exceptional execution. Catlin, he

:03:45. > :03:49.has got away from his man. The ball is forced out.

:03:50. > :03:59.Barry Middleton. Taking it all the way, flicked across, a chance for a

:04:00. > :04:09.shot but they have got the penalty corner. The defender effectively sat

:04:10. > :04:13.down on the Great Britain attacker. Mendonca basically flattened Sam

:04:14. > :04:20.Ward. It is a good left foot kick from Faustino and Ward gets trodden

:04:21. > :04:33.on. And battered in the middle of the circle! Sam Ward sat upon as

:04:34. > :04:41.Nick Catlin prepares to inject here. Ward might have a go at this. He is

:04:42. > :04:48.alongside Jackson and it is Jackson. Good save again. Very good, Faustino

:04:49. > :04:56.has seen one from Jackson to his bottom right and he reads that one

:04:57. > :04:58.better. Nice run from Catlin. Just cannot find a way through that

:04:59. > :05:11.resolute Brazilian defence. That is five or six times that Great

:05:12. > :05:16.Britain have tried baseline attacks, trying to play it back into a space

:05:17. > :05:21.to all three metres of the Brazilian line. You feel they might want to go

:05:22. > :05:27.harder to the top of the circle because Brazil are flooding inside

:05:28. > :05:37.the penalty spot. Mix it up a bit. Dixon, David Ames, back to Daniel

:05:38. > :05:41.Fox. Michael Hoare doing well to the edge of the circle, a flicked it in,

:05:42. > :05:53.great reactions again from the men in yellow. It will be another Great

:05:54. > :05:57.Britain penalty corner. Sam Ward onto backhand, trying to get it

:05:58. > :06:05.across the face of goal and the defender could not get out of the

:06:06. > :06:12.way. This was the save, the end of the stick from Faustino. He was

:06:13. > :06:20.beaten all end up apart from pretty much the paint on that carbon fibre

:06:21. > :06:25.blade. Last time it was Jackson. Will Ward have a chance? It is

:06:26. > :06:38.Jackson once more. He cannot get through. Goalkeeper and post man in

:06:39. > :06:45.the same space, denying Jackson as he went low to their left. Cleared

:06:46. > :07:07.away. David Ames, Jackson, most forward to

:07:08. > :07:14.the edge. The Brazilians seem to be working in pairs as the British

:07:15. > :07:21.attacks come. Ian Sloan jinking through. The backhand shot from

:07:22. > :07:31.Jackson. Successfully defended once again. The last ten seconds of the

:07:32. > :07:38.third quarter. Time and time again, Faustino has denied Great Britain.

:07:39. > :07:44.The third quarter comes to its conclusion and it was jam-packed

:07:45. > :07:53.with incident and drama and brilliant goalkeeping from Rodrigo

:07:54. > :07:57.Faustino. Ashley Jackson defied time and again by the keeper. 4-1 to

:07:58. > :08:09.Great Britain. A really good game and a really good

:08:10. > :08:15.atmosphere. Those are the numbers so far. It tells the tale of the

:08:16. > :08:24.dominant Great Britain have but also the unfortunate situation, only

:08:25. > :08:29.three conversions from 18 shots. Crutchley will have to have a word

:08:30. > :08:35.with his troops about where to get the cleaner chances. They are

:08:36. > :08:42.forcing an area inside the area. A couple of opportunities, Catlin down

:08:43. > :08:44.the right to start with. Fox almost went through Faustino in the first

:08:45. > :08:58.seconds of the third quarter. But swipe from fox on the half

:08:59. > :09:07.volley. They kept pushing and missing. Faustino saved and saved

:09:08. > :09:11.again. It is what they have done in every game, the goalkeeper and his

:09:12. > :09:16.tee fullbacks have created a defensive rearguard. A snapshot in

:09:17. > :09:25.front of the goalkeeper ended up hitting Barry Middleton but Martin

:09:26. > :09:27.finally found the goal. There was a suspicion of it being back stick but

:09:28. > :09:44.nobody appealed it and it was given. Brazil have had a goalkeeping

:09:45. > :09:47.change. Which is a bit of a surprise Ben Mee in mind how well Faustino

:09:48. > :09:57.has played but they have brought on the big man -- given how well. Great

:09:58. > :10:03.Britain will hope it plays into their hands. The other teams might

:10:04. > :10:09.look at that with a bit of dismay because Faustino has been

:10:10. > :10:15.exceptional. Great Britain need gold and could take advantage of a

:10:16. > :10:20.relatively cold goalkeeper. Middleton has a swipe at it and it

:10:21. > :10:28.is of the need of the goalkeeper and that'll do his confidence a bit of

:10:29. > :10:34.positive energy. It is back into the circle for Great Britain. Van der

:10:35. > :10:44.Heijden comes away with it. He gets into space. Lovely little run from

:10:45. > :10:54.him. Absolutely nothing to pass to. He did well to carry the ball. In

:10:55. > :11:08.the end they just got it up the other end. Michael Hoare, the Great

:11:09. > :11:18.Britain number 12. Ashley Jackson. Now it is to the edge of the circle.

:11:19. > :11:27.Condon is in there. Henry Weir is in there. Barry Middleton just in front

:11:28. > :11:35.of the goal. And it is a terrific strike and a brilliant goal from Sam

:11:36. > :11:40.Ward. 5-1. Great Britain patient in the build-up, Sam Ward doing what he

:11:41. > :11:42.does best. He is more of a classic centre forward and the ball was

:11:43. > :11:51.precise onto the end of his stick but there is the lead to the

:11:52. > :11:57.backhand, touch and up and bang and the goalkeeper could not get his

:11:58. > :12:00.feet together. The body weight and momentum and power, straight through

:12:01. > :12:05.the keeper. Bearing in mind what happened when Faustino, the other

:12:06. > :12:10.goalkeeper, was on the field, you sensed he might have had that.

:12:11. > :12:16.Absolutely, I could not agree more. You want to give players experience

:12:17. > :12:21.and exposure with the game lost, but for the other teams, this could have

:12:22. > :12:25.a decisive impact on the final standings. 5-1, five different

:12:26. > :12:54.goal-scorers. Keeper in the right position that

:12:55. > :12:59.time. Bomfim will have to decide if he can police that area in front of

:13:00. > :13:04.his goal as well as Faustino did. Great Britain trying to exploit the

:13:05. > :13:12.sidelines and baselines and find the passes into the goal. Fox again.

:13:13. > :13:19.David Ames. He will switch direction. Hoare again has the

:13:20. > :13:25.Middleton to his left and he goes back to David Ames. Flicked up to

:13:26. > :13:33.Jackson. He circled and heads backwards. Now they find Middleton.

:13:34. > :13:37.When any Great Britain player receives the ball, they had to

:13:38. > :13:44.change direction because the Brazilian midfield is hanging out

:13:45. > :13:52.physically. Michael Hoare with the attempted shot, cleared comfortably

:13:53. > :14:03.by Bomfim. It is all Great Britain at the moment. Pressure move after

:14:04. > :14:11.pressure move. Jackson on the right. A shuttle from Ward and behind.

:14:12. > :14:16.Given as a 16, Henry Weir must have got the final touch. Ward turns and

:14:17. > :14:24.gets up right, difficult execution, no touch, straight off Ward which is

:14:25. > :14:28.why it went to a 16 yard hit. Great Britain have to go full-court press

:14:29. > :14:40.now and let Brazil throw it down the field and get it back.

:14:41. > :15:10.Great Britain got the sideline, they would have got the free hit if it

:15:11. > :15:14.had not got off as it was flicked dangerously towards Gleghorne but

:15:15. > :15:35.they go crossfield to find a bit more opportunity.

:15:36. > :15:43.Fortunately Ian Sloan doing some defensive running, Brazil leading

:15:44. > :15:49.high. A crash ball on the left-hand side. Fortunately the physicality of

:15:50. > :15:54.this game finale for Great Britain is paying off against the

:15:55. > :16:00.Brazilians. He has combined well with Mark Gleghorne to get this far.

:16:01. > :16:07.Nick Catlin is in there and Simon Mantell as well. Trying to put

:16:08. > :16:12.pressure on the Brazilians. Great Britain with nine and a half minutes

:16:13. > :16:18.to go, they are going to an 11 man outfield unit. They note they need

:16:19. > :16:24.goals. I agree completely with this. No point wasting time. If you

:16:25. > :16:32.concede now, the game is won, they need to try and score four or five

:16:33. > :16:36.goals. George Pinner is redundant. Great Britain does not have a

:16:37. > :16:41.goalkeeper, 11 outfield players now. Barry Middleton dons a different

:16:42. > :16:52.colour, he is wearing green. He does not clash with the Brazilian grain.

:16:53. > :17:01.I think it is actually Daniel Fox is wearing the green. Barry Middleton

:17:02. > :17:11.still on the field of play. 11 outfield players for Great Britain

:17:12. > :17:14.now. Nick Catlin. Such fine margins, everything thing that Great Britain

:17:15. > :17:25.do needs to be precise. They have no time to waste. Brazil can party.

:17:26. > :17:34.They have space to run into. He blew his whistle two seconds earlier. It

:17:35. > :17:40.has got very rowdy sends Dan Fox appeared that green shirt on and

:17:41. > :17:47.George Pinner left the field. Again, Great Britain, this is accounting

:17:48. > :17:52.exercise. Tag them up man-to-man, leave one extra as a spare and move

:17:53. > :18:05.up the fields and create a sense of opportunity. Dan Fox. Jackson.

:18:06. > :18:10.Jackson needs to be careful, Brazil have an open goal of the get to the

:18:11. > :18:22.circle. Nick Catlin holds it up, good turn -- if they get to the

:18:23. > :18:35.circle. Dan Fox to Jackson. Michael Hoare. Barry Middleton getting his

:18:36. > :18:41.stick involved. Lovely turn from Simon Mantell, lovely bit of skill

:18:42. > :18:52.from their veteran. All the way to the edge.

:18:53. > :19:05.Simon Mantell at it again, down he goes. Herded by the Brazilian, Andre

:19:06. > :19:12.Patrocinio. He gets a card as a result. Extra advantage in terms of

:19:13. > :19:17.players on the field as Andre Patrocinio heads for a two

:19:18. > :19:22.suspension. It is a tired head of defending that leads to the Great

:19:23. > :19:37.Britain corner. -- two minute suspension. They are not getting the

:19:38. > :19:40.incision into the circle. Mark Gleghorne, Jackson, Simon Mantell,

:19:41. > :19:55.Sam Ward, all there, Jackson has a go. Having gone a man down, the

:19:56. > :20:03.number 15 took that, Van Der Heijden has got that. If he is within five

:20:04. > :20:05.metres and the ball hits above the knee, it is considered dangerous to

:20:06. > :20:13.the defensive team and they can free hit. Jackson has gone high, Van Der

:20:14. > :20:21.Heijden is within that zone. It is high and dangerous. Van Der Heijden

:20:22. > :20:24.being helped from the field but I think he is OK. He has probably been

:20:25. > :20:37.taken off as a precaution. The clock has been stopped, seven

:20:38. > :20:48.minutes left to play. He is the man on the bench. So, here we go. The

:20:49. > :20:54.match continues. 5-1 for Great Britain but they need goals and they

:20:55. > :21:00.do not have a goalkeeper. They need to go to the split back two when

:21:01. > :21:07.they play so well. Iain Lewers gets forward. Half backs up in the

:21:08. > :21:15.attacking 23. Dan Fox in the circle. It is held up, it is a goal for

:21:16. > :21:22.Barry Middleton. His second. A touch in the middle of the circle, a ball

:21:23. > :21:28.fired in from deep, Iain Lewers carries it forwards. A glancing

:21:29. > :21:31.blow, Dan Fox driving, Mark Gleghorne hunting and Middleton in

:21:32. > :21:38.the end finding the free ball to go over the top of Thiago Bonfim. It is

:21:39. > :21:43.not pretty, but it is effective. With the extra man, you cannot mark

:21:44. > :21:49.everyone. Brazil know that that could have been avoided so easily.

:21:50. > :21:58.Second goal of the game for Barry Middleton. 6-1 to Great Britain. The

:21:59. > :22:05.strategy beginning to pay off. Just to remind you that the result when

:22:06. > :22:12.Brazil played Spain was 7-0 and they lost 12-0 to Belgium. Great Britain

:22:13. > :22:18.have to recognise that Brazil have a man down as well, 11 outfield versus

:22:19. > :22:33.nine and as soon as you have eliminated one man, try to find a

:22:34. > :22:41.passable is top --.. Brazil now giving themselves an option, leading

:22:42. > :22:52.two players away to the right so they can go high and long. Chased

:22:53. > :23:05.down hard by Lucas Paixao, unable to get there. There is George Pinner.

:23:06. > :23:17.Brazil nudged the ball out of play. Absolutely nothing else to play out.

:23:18. > :23:21.You only have to look at the body language, these guys are literally

:23:22. > :23:28.running on trickle, there is nothing left to try and get into the face of

:23:29. > :23:33.the Great Britain distribution. Brazil have the chance of a break.

:23:34. > :23:46.Two men in front. The crowd baying for another Brazilian gold. Here

:23:47. > :23:52.come Great Britain. Penalty corner. Dan Fox combining with Sam Ward to

:23:53. > :23:55.put the Brazilian foot on the ball. Dan Fox no longer wearing the green

:23:56. > :24:02.shirt, it has been given to Michael Hoare now. Popping the ball up. It

:24:03. > :24:08.was all because he chased and handed the ball down. A great longer first

:24:09. > :24:11.tackle, nicking the ball away from his opponent and allowing him and

:24:12. > :24:21.Harry Martin to combine in the circle. Ashley Jackson, Mark

:24:22. > :24:24.Leghorn. Adam Dixon. All sorts of options here but they have forgotten

:24:25. > :24:29.who would do the injection. They almost run out of time. Here is the

:24:30. > :24:37.goal. Beautifully finished that time by Mark Gleghorne. Something close

:24:38. > :24:40.to a comedy routine, Sam Ward recognising that Great Britain would

:24:41. > :24:45.have that penalty corner taken off them. Mark Gleghorne, favourite

:24:46. > :24:52.position, pulls it around his body, he loves to do that. He has got all

:24:53. > :24:56.the strength of the body rotation, great core, upper body rotation,

:24:57. > :25:02.drag and web past Thiago Bonfim in the Brazilian gold. We have had a

:25:03. > :25:07.bit of everything tonight. Mark Gleghorne is now on the bench. The

:25:08. > :25:31.scoreline, 7-1 to Great Britain. Missed pass, Nick Catlin climbs all

:25:32. > :25:35.over it and holds it up. Passes at act. Middleton is there trying to

:25:36. > :25:39.dig it back. As ill get possession. That is the space that Brazil have

:25:40. > :25:49.defended so well for the entire game -- Brazil. Good pick-up from Dan

:25:50. > :25:54.Fox, going forward at pace, a lovely move forward, Middleton tries to

:25:55. > :26:00.lock the keeper. That is a penalty stroke on the line. That has been

:26:01. > :26:05.drilled pass the feet of Thiago Bonfim. Absolutely nailed the cover

:26:06. > :26:09.defender. Great awareness from Middleton, not convinced that the

:26:10. > :26:14.log was a great choice but we see that the goalkeeper tries to go over

:26:15. > :26:19.the top. Walloped from Middleton, smashed into the line to give away

:26:20. > :26:31.the penalty stroke. Brazil want this looked at upstairs. So, we are

:26:32. > :26:35.looking to see, was the shot from Middleton going into the goal when

:26:36. > :26:42.it hit the defender? Given that he has stood on the and that is his

:26:43. > :26:49.right knee... Without a doubt. Came off his left shin pad, I think. He

:26:50. > :26:54.is benefiting from Hawk-Eye technology, an image from every

:26:55. > :27:03.single camera in the ground. Brazil lose their appeal. Jackson versus

:27:04. > :27:14.Thiago Bonfim. Penalty stroke. This to make it 8-1.

:27:15. > :27:27.Jackson, top corner. Brazil won, Great Britain, eight. There are not

:27:28. > :27:33.many goalkeepers in the world who can get near Jackson from the

:27:34. > :27:37.penalty but. Such disguise, that has gone past Thiago Bonfim. He went the

:27:38. > :27:42.right way but you cannot get your body to move quickly enough unless

:27:43. > :27:49.you have guessed and gone early. Jackson's second, the eighth for

:27:50. > :27:53.Great Britain. Three minutes and 41 seconds of this extraordinary half

:27:54. > :27:59.of hockey to play. We said at the top of the show that we felt they

:28:00. > :28:02.would need to put ten on the board. With seven minutes to go I thought

:28:03. > :28:10.that was a pipe dream. But they have pulled the goalkeeper. Bold with

:28:11. > :28:20.that eight minutes to go. Back and be let pass harmlessly behind. Dan

:28:21. > :28:25.Fox on his way down the left. He has been very effective, marauding down

:28:26. > :28:30.the left flank. A little flick and here goes Dan Fox, Middleton. He

:28:31. > :28:37.holds it up, teasing the Brazilian defence. It is over the top. No idea

:28:38. > :28:41.how David Ames has managed to shovel out over the crossbar. Middleton

:28:42. > :28:46.decides he can get across, moves beat well. David Ames tries to flash

:28:47. > :29:01.at it, gets underneath it, too much right hand.

:29:02. > :29:12.Chances here, one against one in the circle. Iain Lewers on a long sweep

:29:13. > :29:15.tackle in a game with more, you feel that could have been penalised,

:29:16. > :29:19.there was only one place that ball was going and that was off the

:29:20. > :29:23.baseline. I have seen corner is given for that in other matches but

:29:24. > :29:28.tonight the game is dead for Brazil but they are still giving it

:29:29. > :29:32.everything they have got. Finish with heads held high. They want

:29:33. > :29:39.another goal. They scored their first in Olympic hockey, the first

:29:40. > :29:46.goal of the match went to Brazil. They want a second. Towards the

:29:47. > :29:53.circle, ball up high. The ball was drilled in at waist height towards

:29:54. > :30:04.Iain Lewers. He is pretty cross about it. Middleton, charging away

:30:05. > :30:12.down the left. Tries to find Nick Catlin but cannot. Ball behind Nick

:30:13. > :30:19.Catlin who was trying to jump up in the air. Brazil still looking for

:30:20. > :30:26.the goal as they get towards the circle.

:30:27. > :30:34.Middleton across the deck, finds Jackson, left hand on the stick.

:30:35. > :30:39.Plenty of pace, all the way to the circle, backhand across the field

:30:40. > :30:47.and finished right in front of the Brazilian goal. That is a score for

:30:48. > :30:51.Sam Ward. That was all about Jackson Hart left hand skills, hand eye

:30:52. > :30:56.coordination, out to the left and around the last man, the right hand

:30:57. > :30:59.through and Great Britain lining up with three men across the

:31:00. > :31:06.goalkeeper. Super strike from Jackson. Sam Ward is the man, if you

:31:07. > :31:11.want somebody in the danger area, he is the one. The faintest touch from

:31:12. > :31:22.Sam Ward, his second goal of the night. 9-1. Crutchley's creative

:31:23. > :31:28.instincts in removing George Pinner have paid off. He has got a handful

:31:29. > :31:39.of goals since Pinner left the field. That is a tired, tired pass

:31:40. > :31:42.from the attempted exchange between centre and right midfield, must have

:31:43. > :31:53.been five yards away from where it to be. Lewers. Hoare wearing the

:31:54. > :32:01.green shirt. The last 30 seconds of the match. Can Brazil get the crowd

:32:02. > :32:12.on their feet and score in the dying seconds? David Ames back to tidy up.

:32:13. > :32:19.He find Middleton. He fires it forward. It is behind and the clock

:32:20. > :32:20.will tick down and the hooter will sound and Great Britain have got the

:32:21. > :32:33.job done. A cracking game of hockey it began

:32:34. > :32:37.with Brazil's first ever goal in an Olympic competition and Great

:32:38. > :32:41.Britain had to think and fight back. They removed George Pinner and

:32:42. > :32:48.things really started to happen. They have given Brazil a really good

:32:49. > :32:53.working over. But it has been a thoroughly entertaining game. Those

:32:54. > :33:02.are the scorers in the order in which they came.

:33:03. > :33:16.The final score, a terrific match, Brazil 1-9 Great Britain.

:33:17. > :33:22.That you have it, another great night of hockey and a reminder that

:33:23. > :33:27.Team GB's next game is Australia, the top ranked team in the

:33:28. > :33:33.competition, and that is tomorrow. Welcome back to a bit of beach

:33:34. > :33:42.action. We have been joined by a triumvirate of British ladies. This

:33:43. > :33:47.is an, Nim, and Peggy, who is a veteran of four Olympic Games. I can

:33:48. > :33:53.read Barcelona 92 on the top of your hat, was that the first one? That is

:33:54. > :33:59.the first one, in Barcelona and it was all new. Barcelona previously

:34:00. > :34:06.was not so modern but they did a fantastic job getting it all

:34:07. > :34:10.together and they had a wonderful setting. The diving went off the top

:34:11. > :34:17.and it was a fantastic view. We got to be swimming and the athletics and

:34:18. > :34:23.they had their show games which was wonderful to be in amongst the

:34:24. > :34:28.crowd. All of those memories. Nim, this is your third Olympics. What

:34:29. > :34:33.have you made a it so far? It's been great but we have had one or two

:34:34. > :34:37.issues. The awful situation with the security on the first day. A lot of

:34:38. > :34:43.people might have heard about it but what was it like in those queues?

:34:44. > :34:47.Extremely hard to come it must have been 35 degrees in the shade and we

:34:48. > :34:52.were not in the shade so we were about 40 minutes late for the first

:34:53. > :34:58.hockey game. The other thing was that we have seen some table tennis

:34:59. > :35:01.which was great. And we saw a volleyball game which we thought

:35:02. > :35:08.would be wonderful but we were a bit upset by the experience. We were

:35:09. > :35:12.among, it was the Americans and Canadians, we thought it would be

:35:13. > :35:16.fantastic but the Canadians starting doing. We were so shocked that

:35:17. > :35:27.people would do that at Olympics. Did you tell them off? We both did!

:35:28. > :35:36.Anna has a wonderful title, she is an Olympic family assistant. What

:35:37. > :35:39.does that mean? I'm here looking after the president of the Danish

:35:40. > :35:48.Olympic Committee. Do we have to salute you? ! It is so much fun. It

:35:49. > :35:52.means I accompany him and help organise his transport. I have been

:35:53. > :35:58.able to sit in on a few events and what the swimming. He applied to be

:35:59. > :36:03.a volunteer and this came up? It did. It has been really good, I

:36:04. > :36:06.turned up in Brazil and was told I would have a client to look after

:36:07. > :36:13.and on the first day I found that it was him. Do you speak Danish? Sadly

:36:14. > :36:19.not. I am hoping I can pick up some but it's not like anything I've

:36:20. > :36:27.learned before. Do you speak Danish, Peggy? No! And you are staying for

:36:28. > :36:31.the Paralympics and working? I will be volunteering at the airport doing

:36:32. > :36:36.accreditation and welcoming the athletes. I'm hoping to see some big

:36:37. > :36:40.names. Before we let you go, you are here for a few more days? What are

:36:41. > :36:47.you going to take in? Beach volleyball tomorrow. Don't tell

:36:48. > :36:52.anybody off this time! I saw that in Bondi Beach and that was fantastic

:36:53. > :36:59.and also at Horse Guards Parade. And on Friday morning, the athletics and

:37:00. > :37:04.we go home then. You haven't Barcelona, Sydney, London and now

:37:05. > :37:10.Rio. Yes. Peggy is very good at telling people off, I was apparently

:37:11. > :37:15.too tall to interview her so I have made myself a hole! We are going to

:37:16. > :37:24.do some headlines now. Thank you very much. Can you give us, time for

:37:25. > :37:27.the headlines... Time now for the day for headlines on BBC Four. From

:37:28. > :37:43.Rio! Well done, Peggy. Team USA divided

:37:44. > :37:47.the women's team gymnastics title -- defended. Helped by the all-round

:37:48. > :37:53.favourite, Simone Biles. Team GB finished in fifth place. An

:37:54. > :37:58.agonising fifth place as well for Tonia Couch and Lois Toulson as

:37:59. > :38:08.Jonah took the gold in the ten metre the grow -- as China took the gold

:38:09. > :38:10.in the ten metre synchro. A huge victory for Johanna Konta, coming

:38:11. > :38:15.from a set down to beat Svetlana Kuznetsova. And look at what it

:38:16. > :38:19.meant when she made it through to the quarterfinal where she will play

:38:20. > :38:25.Sam Stosur or Angelique Kerber. Andy Murray is also through to the last

:38:26. > :38:30.eight. Katherine Grainger remains on course to win a fifth Olympic medal,

:38:31. > :38:34.she and Big E Thornley booked their spot in the double sculls final --

:38:35. > :38:43.Vic Iain Thornley. -- Vicky Thornley. And a dramatic

:38:44. > :38:50.day in the rugby sevens, two wins for Team GB. An incredible second

:38:51. > :38:56.game against Japan which they squeaked, 21-19, after Japan had

:38:57. > :38:59.earlier stunned New Zealand by beating the favourites. This is what

:39:00. > :39:04.is available on all of the other channels. On the Red Button right

:39:05. > :39:09.now we have tennis, I think it is Serena Williams in action against

:39:10. > :39:15.Elina Svitolina, who knocked out Heather Watson earlier in the week.

:39:16. > :39:22.Weightlifting is also available on the Red Button at the moment. Add on

:39:23. > :39:25.the website and BBC sport app you can access up to 24 live streams

:39:26. > :39:36.depending on what is happening. We now know who Johanna Konta will

:39:37. > :39:42.play in the quarterfinals, it is Angelique Kerber, who was a

:39:43. > :39:46.Wimbledon finalist this year. She beat Sam Stosur 6-0, 7-5. We have

:39:47. > :39:50.been concentrating a lot on the rugby sevens and we're going to take

:39:51. > :39:54.you back now. We watched that amazing game between Fiji and

:39:55. > :40:00.Argentina with some amazing skills. This was the try of the game and

:40:01. > :40:04.eventually they won 21-14. They have never won an Olympic medal of any

:40:05. > :40:13.sort. After that game, their coach, Ben Ryan, spoke with John Inverdale.

:40:14. > :40:18.First things first, as an advert for seven scum that was stupendous.

:40:19. > :40:25.Wasn't it? Argentina are a great side. -- sevens rugby. It was a

:40:26. > :40:31.pretty stellar try to clinch it. We are thrilled to be two from two but

:40:32. > :40:34.credit to Argentina, they will be right there at the end of the

:40:35. > :40:41.tournament on Thursday. Where are you at the moment? We are OK, we

:40:42. > :40:44.have not put in 14 minutes but it's hard against teams like Argentina,

:40:45. > :40:47.they make the break down hard and suffocate you a bit and if you don't

:40:48. > :40:52.get your possession right and hit the ball hard, they will beat you.

:40:53. > :40:56.Their kick-offs were well-planned and tactically good. We will be in

:40:57. > :41:01.the quarter finals and if we beat the USA we will retain the number

:41:02. > :41:02.one seed. It seems that New Zealand have lost that aura of invincibility

:41:03. > :41:20.which has kind of past to you. How intimidated do you think opponents

:41:21. > :41:23.are playing Fiji? I hope a lot! New Zealand were like that. We have

:41:24. > :41:25.beaten them nine times in the last ten games so it has shifted to us

:41:26. > :41:29.but with that comes pressure. Hopefully we will rise to the

:41:30. > :41:35.occasion. And we won't suffer from not giving it our best shot. We live

:41:36. > :41:38.and die by the sword with how we play our attacking game. And give an

:41:39. > :41:44.indication of what this means to people back home. We were talking to

:41:45. > :41:52.the Americans, they often get 200,000 hits on their website a week

:41:53. > :41:59.and you have had 9,000,048 hours. What is it doing for Fiji? -- 9

:42:00. > :42:03.million in 48 hours. It is a tiny dot in the middle of the Pacific, a

:42:04. > :42:07.great place with amazing people but we also have the best sevens team on

:42:08. > :42:13.the planet and it is a fanatical backing. Our Prime Minister with a

:42:14. > :42:17.half his government is here. Everybody will not be at work, you

:42:18. > :42:21.will see people in the banks cheering us on, it will be from

:42:22. > :42:27.every corner of Fiji. They are so proud of it and for these 14

:42:28. > :42:32.minutes, we are in the spotlight on a global state and they are very

:42:33. > :42:35.proud of being Fijian and through the sevens team, they show that

:42:36. > :42:43.appreciation and pride. Serious pressure! It is, but that's the job.

:42:44. > :42:49.Well done so far. Thank you. A big smile from Ben Ryan, good to know

:42:50. > :42:56.that the BGN pry minister is here. The sevens continues for the next

:42:57. > :43:07.few days -- Fijian Prime Minister. GB take on New Zealand tomorrow.

:43:08. > :43:14.That is at 4:30pm UK time. The bin men, hello! They gave us a wave.

:43:15. > :43:21.They come around at this time every night. What time is it here? It is a

:43:22. > :43:26.quarter to eight, quarter to midnight in the UK. They come and

:43:27. > :43:29.empty the bins which is a lovely service because copper cabana is

:43:30. > :43:33.normally packed all day all stop and when you talk to people here --

:43:34. > :43:39.double cabana. Everyday I have spoken to the same guy and he talks

:43:40. > :43:44.about football, about Brazil, the Premier League, Paul Pogba but today

:43:45. > :43:49.was the first day he mentioned the Olympics. Football is king here but

:43:50. > :43:53.it broke through today because of the victory for Rafaela Silva in the

:43:54. > :43:58.judo who took the first gold medal for Brazil. She comes from the city

:43:59. > :44:02.of God favela are here made famous in the film which many of you will

:44:03. > :44:07.have seen and her story is incredible. She got into judo, it

:44:08. > :44:11.made such a difference in her life and the emotional scenes when she

:44:12. > :44:16.won the gold medal yesterday were shown all over the country and have

:44:17. > :44:21.been on the front pages of the papers. We will take you to a bit of

:44:22. > :44:28.judo now. We have a final on the way in a minute. Don't fear, this is the

:44:29. > :44:42.judo guide. Judo was developed in the late 19th

:44:43. > :44:49.century in Japan and has been an Olympic sport since Tokyo in 1964.

:44:50. > :44:52.Each contest as a duration of five minutes for men or four minutes for

:44:53. > :44:58.women. If scores are level at the end of the contest, they enter

:44:59. > :45:01.golden score where there is no time limit and the first score or penalty

:45:02. > :45:09.awarded will decide the contest. The highest scoring technique is a ippon

:45:10. > :45:13.which is in the wind contest and can be achieved in four ways, throwing

:45:14. > :45:17.an opponent with impact on their back with considerable force and

:45:18. > :45:21.speed, pinning and holding down an opponent for 20 seconds with

:45:22. > :45:28.selected holding techniques. When an opponent submits or gives up or

:45:29. > :45:31.scoring two waza ari against an opponent. Waza ari can be achieved

:45:32. > :45:36.in two ways. Throwing an opponent but lacking one of the elements for

:45:37. > :45:44.ippon or holding up an opponent for 15 seconds or more but less than 20

:45:45. > :45:49.seconds. A yuko is worth one point and can also be scored in two ways,

:45:50. > :45:52.throwing an opponent but lacking to element needed for ippon or holding

:45:53. > :45:55.down an opponent for ten to 14 seconds. Judah is a knockout

:45:56. > :46:00.competition at all competitors are placed in a drawer divided into two

:46:01. > :46:03.tables. The top eight athletes for each quick category are seeded in

:46:04. > :46:05.line with their world rankings and the two finalists will compete for

:46:06. > :46:20.the gold and silver medals. Robert? We will show you a gold

:46:21. > :46:41.medal match. It sees Trevor Stevens take on the Russian. Here are the

:46:42. > :46:52.gold medal men. From Russia and standing right throughout, Travis

:46:53. > :46:59.Stephens of the USA the number one in the world in the semifinal to get

:47:00. > :47:25.him here right now it is the young and the old only to years of age,

:47:26. > :48:06.Travis Stephens in white and Khasan Khalmurzaev in blue and we are away.

:48:07. > :48:09.I do not know which way this will go because Travis Stephens is going to

:48:10. > :48:14.try and get him to ground and Khasan Khalmurzaev will look for an

:48:15. > :48:23.opportunity for counter. He has had great form, four matches already but

:48:24. > :48:27.so has Travis Stevens. He is having the day of his life. A penalty

:48:28. > :48:39.straightaway, might get the benefit of the doubt. A lot of nerds out

:48:40. > :48:45.there. First final four attempt three, a semifinalist in London and

:48:46. > :48:49.this time he does it. They are not the big heavyweights but they are

:48:50. > :48:52.not small boys, they are so agile and strong and that is what this

:48:53. > :48:58.board is all about, the balance of Hardy and mind. The throw comes from

:48:59. > :49:05.the American but no score, could not get the Russian opponent on his

:49:06. > :49:12.back. Continues to work at it. -- body and mind. Can he get around the

:49:13. > :49:18.body and the neck? The referee will let this go. He is doing everything

:49:19. > :49:24.he can, Travis Stevens. He stands over the top, one more chance to get

:49:25. > :49:28.underneath, can he do it? Khasan Khalmurzaev is strong in defence.

:49:29. > :49:35.The referee watches. A wonderful move from the American. He is giving

:49:36. > :49:43.his all. Hard to see what is happening. We know he will not stop.

:49:44. > :49:50.The referee is up close. He calls. After all of that, no score. Travis

:49:51. > :49:55.Stevens was trying very hard there to secure the arm. Khasan

:49:56. > :50:03.Khalmurzaev managing to pull the arm in every time. It is going to take a

:50:04. > :50:07.fair bit out of them both. Attack or defend, it is one of the hardest

:50:08. > :50:12.things, ground work take such a lot out of you and then you have to

:50:13. > :50:18.stand up. Sometimes you have to know when to release it, not go for it,

:50:19. > :50:22.because if you expend too much energy... That was a brilliant

:50:23. > :50:25.technique from Khasan Khalmurzaev. Khasan Khalmurzaev has to be curve,

:50:26. > :50:35.every time he goes to ground. Travis Stevens. -- careful. Spectacular

:50:36. > :50:42.final. Still no score. A third down lap belt in judo is Travis Stevens,

:50:43. > :50:53.he also has a black out in jujitsu and that taught he can catch anyone

:50:54. > :50:58.-- blackbelt. -- blackbelt. Takes him down and the Russian turns it

:50:59. > :51:03.around on the counterattack. He has won it and got the gold medal.

:51:04. > :51:10.Travis Stevens lies on the map in despair. How did that happen? That

:51:11. > :51:17.man just proved off an amazing move. He goes to ground. He cannot believe

:51:18. > :51:21.what he has done. The gold medal for Russia and Khasan Khalmurzaev and

:51:22. > :51:24.the silver medal goes to Travis Stevens from the USA. That was

:51:25. > :51:32.nothing short of absolutely fabulous to decide the Olympic champion in

:51:33. > :51:43.the 81 kilograms competition. Russia over America.

:51:44. > :51:49.Absolutely always looked dangerous, Khasan Khalmurzaev. Travis Stevens

:51:50. > :51:54.was coming forwards. Travis Stevens gets the silver medal and he fully

:51:55. > :52:01.deserves that silver medal. Khasan Khalmurzaev there, you can see the

:52:02. > :52:06.Russians behind me, all just praying really that he can pull it off.

:52:07. > :52:11.Khasan Khalmurzaev was almost waiting, he looked dangerous, in the

:52:12. > :52:15.first attack, it looked as though he was going to throw Travis Stevens

:52:16. > :52:20.and then the second one, he got right the way underneath them and it

:52:21. > :52:25.was game over. Brilliant stuff from Khasan Khalmurzaev. Not too much

:52:26. > :52:31.fuss. We will look at this. Talk us through this. It was brilliant

:52:32. > :52:36.stuff. Travis Stevens had a plan and his plan was to get Khasan

:52:37. > :52:42.Khalmurzaev on the ground. Khasan Khalmurzaev just managed to turn it

:52:43. > :52:47.around. This is how it all started. Travis Stevens went around the back

:52:48. > :52:50.and tried to throw Khasan Khalmurzaev. Khasan Khalmurzaev just

:52:51. > :52:57.manages to dig in, change the direction and how many times do we

:52:58. > :53:03.see that change of direction? It wins, very important matches. Travis

:53:04. > :53:09.Stevens, he sacrifices, he tries to throw Khasan Khalmurzaev and he

:53:10. > :53:13.readjusts his balance and then he sweeps right away in the inside.

:53:14. > :53:17.Look how they readjust his support leg and he takes Travis Stevens

:53:18. > :53:29.over, flat on his back with the biggest upon. Over 81 kilograms

:53:30. > :53:38.decided on a beautiful technique. -- Travis Stevens. -- ippon. The power

:53:39. > :53:44.in that right by when he planted it under pressure and seemingly moved

:53:45. > :53:47.it ever so slightly and all of a sudden, it generated the power he

:53:48. > :53:52.needed. That was incredible to watch, it really was. What an

:53:53. > :53:56.amazing contest that was from start to finish and there are the

:53:57. > :54:04.medallists now, Russia with the gold medal, USA with the silver medal and

:54:05. > :54:10.bronze medals to the UAE and Japan. The quality was outstanding. Khasan

:54:11. > :54:19.Khalmurzaev, the new Olympic champion. And that is why we love

:54:20. > :54:23.the judo. We have been showing you an awful lot of tennis over the last

:54:24. > :54:27.few days because so many of the big names have been going out. We go to

:54:28. > :54:32.the national Tennis Centre. We showed you Heather Watson losing to

:54:33. > :54:40.the Ukrainian a few days ago. And you can see that another big name is

:54:41. > :54:44.in trouble. Venus Williams went out earlier on and this is Serena

:54:45. > :54:51.Williams, the defending Olympic champion. Let us pick up the

:54:52. > :55:00.commentary. We will join it in the second set trying to hold serve at

:55:01. > :55:02.3-3. Players are accustomed to hitting that shot. That was gutsy

:55:03. > :55:19.from Serena. Where has the serve gone? Three

:55:20. > :55:44.double faults in this game. That was a painful expression on her

:55:45. > :55:57.face there. Is she playing in pain. --?.

:55:58. > :56:08.What is going on? She raises her arms. Shrugs her shoulders, she has

:56:09. > :56:16.got no answers. It is another break point, Venus Williams looks on. It

:56:17. > :56:23.is a break point here, this is a huge point. A huge second serve

:56:24. > :56:29.after hitting all the doubles. Goodness, five double faults in one

:56:30. > :56:37.game! And Elina Svitolina with another break of serve in the second

:56:38. > :56:42.set, 4-3, she will be serving 45-3 in the second set and she is up one

:56:43. > :58:01.- zero. Re-watching one of the biggest

:58:02. > :58:08.upsets in the tennis event at the Summer Olympics of 2016? -- are we

:58:09. > :58:14.watching. Novak Djokovic has gone and now Serena Williams is hanging

:58:15. > :58:20.on here. Elina Svitolina serving 4-3, second set and she leads by

:58:21. > :58:25.1-0. Five double faults from Serena Williams in that last game. She has

:58:26. > :58:49.been on tour for such a long time, three decades.

:58:50. > :59:22.Forehand into the net. 40-0 at 4-3, second set. Exactly what Elina

:59:23. > :59:23.Svitolina would have wanted from this game, three unforced errors

:59:24. > :59:37.from Williams. It is long, return of serve is long,

:59:38. > :59:45.Elina Svitolina holds her serve to zero. She is maybe overthinking,

:59:46. > :59:51.maybe because of the shoulder, on the serve, she is doing the things

:59:52. > :59:55.that she needs to in the situation, Elina Svitolina. Serving to stay in

:59:56. > :00:20.the Olympics. She looks at odds with herself. Not

:00:21. > :00:24.sure whether those are grimaces of pain or sheer disappointment that

:00:25. > :00:37.she is making errors. Love 15, she is serving the second set -- not -

:00:38. > :00:45.15. -- 0- 15. Backhand into the net. A gentle serve. I think that is a

:00:46. > :00:49.grimace that is telling us that not all is well. 6-3, unforced errors

:00:50. > :01:00.from Williams. Five double faults in the last

:01:01. > :01:13.service game from Serena Williams. There is another. And now three

:01:14. > :01:18.match points for Elina Svitolina, 21 years of age. Is she about to knock

:01:19. > :01:27.out of the Rio Olympics the defending champion? Not yet. Nothing

:01:28. > :01:32.on the serve, she wanted to go for the big winner to end the match. She

:01:33. > :02:05.still has two match points. That is a big, big point! And

:02:06. > :02:10.another shrug of the shoulders from Serena Williams. She has saved two

:02:11. > :02:19.match points that there is still one more. She has been in so many

:02:20. > :02:23.situations and got out of them in her career. If she can get out of

:02:24. > :02:28.this situation it would be miraculous.

:02:29. > :02:42.That it! It is wide and Elina Svitolina has knocked out Serena

:02:43. > :02:47.Williams from the Olympics in 2016. The London champion from four years

:02:48. > :02:52.ago, Serena Williams of the United States is out of the Rio de Janeiro

:02:53. > :03:00.Olympics and that is a marvellous victory for the 21-year-old, Elina

:03:01. > :03:05.Svitolina. And in straight sets at the Olympic Tennis Centre here in

:03:06. > :03:14.Rio, one of the major upsets in tennis history. We touched on it

:03:15. > :03:25.earlier as Serena leaves the court. In the early going, she was taking

:03:26. > :03:29.it a bit gentle on the serve. I thought she was trying to feel her

:03:30. > :03:33.way into the match on serve because of the first two rounds but

:03:34. > :03:38.clutching the shoulder, that was telling. And some of the things we

:03:39. > :03:42.have seen this evening that we have not seen from her in her career, the

:03:43. > :03:48.five double faults in one game towards the end of the match and

:03:49. > :03:55.seven straight unforced errors. Svitolina played well. You look at

:03:56. > :03:59.the numbers, 17 unforced errors and nine winners. It tells you the story

:04:00. > :04:09.of the match that Serena was missing all too often. Serena's unforced

:04:10. > :04:14.error count was 37. Too many. And she will be wearing that smile all

:04:15. > :04:20.evening. It is beautiful to see. She is Queen of the tennis world right

:04:21. > :04:26.now, that is how she will feel. Who wants this tennis ball with my

:04:27. > :04:30.signature on it? I thought it was a pretty classy handshake as well from

:04:31. > :04:40.Svitolina, she didn't overdo it. Well done to her for being that

:04:41. > :04:45.gracious at the net. And it could be a career defining win for her. To

:04:46. > :04:51.beat Serena, and I talked about not getting a big win over a top player,

:04:52. > :04:57.Serena may not have been 100% but mentally for her, it is huge. Elina

:04:58. > :05:02.Svitolina, 21 years of age from Ukraine, has knocked out the great

:05:03. > :05:07.Serena Williams, 6-4, 6-3, in this third round and she has earned

:05:08. > :05:13.herself a quarterfinal against Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic.

:05:14. > :05:21.Wow. What a night, the tennis has produced so many upsets, both the

:05:22. > :05:26.Williams sisters out in the singles, Novak Djokovic a few days ago lost

:05:27. > :05:31.to Juan Martin Del Potro and was in tears on Centre Court. For those

:05:32. > :05:36.people who think the Olympics does not mean much for tennis or golfing

:05:37. > :05:42.stars, that shows you the heartache they go through when they are out.

:05:43. > :05:46.The good news for Team GB is that although Heather Watson was also

:05:47. > :05:51.beaten by Elina Svitolina yesterday, we do have both Andy Murray and

:05:52. > :05:56.Johanna Konta in the quarterfinals. Andy Murray will play Fabio Fognini

:05:57. > :06:02.and Johanna Konta, who somehow got the better of Svetlana Kuznetsova

:06:03. > :06:05.earlier as we showed you, she will now play the Wimbledon finalist,

:06:06. > :06:11.Angelique Kerber, in her quarterfinal. We are back in our

:06:12. > :06:16.little spot among the shrubbery and look who is behind us, the same time

:06:17. > :06:22.as last night. We have got the circuit trainers. And the fella in

:06:23. > :06:26.the green top who looked a bit like Antony Worrall Thompson, he is back

:06:27. > :06:32.in exactly the same top. I might have a chat with him later to see if

:06:33. > :06:37.he has given it a wash or if he is going double bubble on the same

:06:38. > :06:44.muscle vest! All of the big issues to be discussed later. Keep your

:06:45. > :06:52.messages coming in, we will do some Copaca-banter later! Get that in,

:06:53. > :06:56.BBC Rio 2016 is the hashtag. A lot of you were enjoying the judo

:06:57. > :07:01.yesterday so we have got another one, this is a gold match, the

:07:02. > :07:20.women's 63 kilo match. This is it, Rio 2016 brings you the

:07:21. > :07:26.final in the women's 63 telegram division. The judo competition here.

:07:27. > :07:45.Slovenia and France. Clarisse Agbegnenou was very

:07:46. > :08:00.impressive winning her semifinal as was this lady from Slovenia, Tina

:08:01. > :08:06.Trstenjak. They might not be able to even hear the music or the announcer

:08:07. > :08:13.but a pat on the back says OK, it's showtime. And the French woman knows

:08:14. > :08:20.it. She was a substitute in London 2012. She did not make it but she

:08:21. > :08:27.has certainly made a big impression here. This is the Japanese referee

:08:28. > :08:36.who will keep a close watch on the contest. At the end of this we will

:08:37. > :08:44.have a new gold medallist. Slovenia had one gold medal in London. But

:08:45. > :08:49.she is not here. We are ready to go, this is the gold-medal bout,

:08:50. > :08:59.Slovenia in white and in the blue colours, France. Clarisse Agbegnenou

:09:00. > :09:04.right in their, and so is Tina Trstenjak. No love lost between

:09:05. > :09:10.them, I can promise you that. A big attack and sweeps the inside of the

:09:11. > :09:17.leg. Tina Trstenjak, like a woman possessed in there. Straightaway,

:09:18. > :09:24.Clarisse Agbegnenou has got to get back on that pace, she has to match

:09:25. > :09:29.her attack for attack. It is one against two in the world, and the

:09:30. > :09:32.only time these ladies have lost in the last couple of years has been

:09:33. > :09:40.against each other. They have incredible records. There are three

:09:41. > :09:46.of them, we have just seen Gerbi. But it was a contest between those

:09:47. > :09:56.three and you are dead right. The right ones are going to be on the

:09:57. > :10:02.rostrum. Can Tina Trstenjak get a hold? Not quite, both arms and

:10:03. > :10:08.trying to force her to the floor and there is a score in counterattack.

:10:09. > :10:16.Tina Trstenjak turned that and she has got a hold. Clarisse Agbegnenou

:10:17. > :10:21.has just got out. I thought that was a bit more than just a Yuko. Three

:10:22. > :10:41.seconds away from a Gwaza ari. -- waza ari. There is the Yuko. It

:10:42. > :10:46.is counting up. It could be all over here. Tina Trstenjak is going to be

:10:47. > :10:57.the Olympic champion. What a performance. She did amazingly, that

:10:58. > :11:06.was superb. I thought it was a bit more. It was a waza ari scored. One

:11:07. > :11:13.minute 45 second is all it took and the gold medal goes to Slovenia.

:11:14. > :11:17.That was amazing. How powerful is this lady? She has done it and she

:11:18. > :11:25.is the Olympic champion. That was just unbelievable. That is two

:11:26. > :11:32.Olympic Games in a row now that Slovenia have won this gold medal.

:11:33. > :11:37.The same coach as well. Tina Trstenjak was superb. She came out

:11:38. > :11:42.of the blocks and she just knew she was going to win this. You saw her

:11:43. > :11:48.absolutely destroyed the world number two. I thought it was going

:11:49. > :11:51.to be Clarisse Agbegnenou, I have to say, but Tina Trstenjak had

:11:52. > :11:57.something to say about that. Clarisse Agbegnenou came for an

:11:58. > :12:02.attack. And Tina Trstenjak turned it and the referee was absolutely right

:12:03. > :12:08.having seen it now, she lands on her side. I thought it was a bit more

:12:09. > :12:14.but it was on her side and she gets the Yuko and then she was on top of

:12:15. > :12:20.her body hauled down and she manages to hold her for the ippon. That was

:12:21. > :12:26.brilliant. Absolutely on fire, the world number one and now the Olympic

:12:27. > :12:32.champion. She has been untouchable and that is now 62 wins from her

:12:33. > :12:40.last 68 bouts and it ends with Olympic gold. She is the top of a

:12:41. > :12:53.quality table. There it is, at the top.

:12:54. > :12:59.What a brilliant performance from Tina Trstenjak.

:13:00. > :13:08.I hope you are enjoying the judo tonight. Some messages, and one I

:13:09. > :13:12.want to read, the DJ Ryan Smith says, I'm now explaining these judo

:13:13. > :13:18.ruled in my sleep. That is the point of it, the Olympics, you get into a

:13:19. > :13:22.sport you thought you knew nothing about and you become mildly

:13:23. > :13:27.obsessive! I hope we are helping you. We are here for the next two

:13:28. > :13:31.hours. It is past midnight at home. Stick with us because we still have

:13:32. > :13:37.plenty more coming up. It is time to go for a wander so I am going to

:13:38. > :13:41.come through the shrubbery. We are going onto the beach to show you a

:13:42. > :13:48.bit of the circuit training because I know you are enjoying it. There is

:13:49. > :13:51.Antony Worrall Thompson doing a bit of squatting at the moment. This

:13:52. > :13:58.goes on for about three hours every night. They have got the battle

:13:59. > :14:04.ropes here, some furious shaking. Look at this fella doing the ladder,

:14:05. > :14:11.thinking about it. No, that yellow one. That is some intense ladder

:14:12. > :14:15.work! This is a long session as well. Quick feet, you can tell they

:14:16. > :14:23.are good footballers. It is the same guys that we had yesterday. Look at

:14:24. > :14:27.this, the full reverse! I don't think we have had this live on the

:14:28. > :14:31.BBC and I'm not sure we will again either. Thank you very much. Let me

:14:32. > :14:44.introduce you to this young American. Nice to meet you. Where

:14:45. > :14:50.are you from? Maryland. I am Olivia. There are always a lot of couples

:14:51. > :14:57.here. Show us the full American flag, the stars and stripes. Give us

:14:58. > :15:04.a twirl. That was very fast! What have you seen so far? Plenty of

:15:05. > :15:08.medals already for the USA. Mostly watching us lose at beach

:15:09. > :15:14.volleyball! But we have a good game against Brazil earlier and I'm

:15:15. > :15:20.hoping to watch the USA win in the finals in basketball. You have

:15:21. > :15:24.tickets already? Yes. LeBron James and Cestaro are not here, is it not

:15:25. > :15:29.as strong as side as you could have brought -- Steph Curry. They are

:15:30. > :15:33.both coming of injuries and a long season and we will do good with

:15:34. > :15:38.Kevin Durant and the other big stars.

:15:39. > :15:47.Is it still fun to watch when they are so much better? You do not care?

:15:48. > :15:54.Not at all. What has been the highlight for you, Olivia? This is

:15:55. > :16:01.my home town. Tell us about Raffaella silver who won yesterday?

:16:02. > :16:08.We were watching the beach volleyball but I was sitting down

:16:09. > :16:16.and I saw her win the gold medal. I was crying. It made me really happy.

:16:17. > :16:23.Third all is very much a big thing here -- football. The Brazilian

:16:24. > :16:26.football team have great hopes of winning an Olympic medal, it has to

:16:27. > :16:33.be the gold medal, that tells you about the significance of Raffaella

:16:34. > :16:38.silver. So many Brazilians are talking about something that is not

:16:39. > :16:44.the all and it is rare. The Olympics is a great opportunity for us to

:16:45. > :16:49.realise there are a bunch of other sports out there, not only football

:16:50. > :16:53.and it is great and I hope we can bring home more gold medals --

:16:54. > :16:59.Rafaela Silva. Is it dull that the US basketball team beat everyone?

:17:00. > :17:07.Yes. Have you heard of Adam Peaty? He broke the world record. There was

:17:08. > :17:13.intense, a good swim. A good swim. Michael Phelps is doing well. Great

:17:14. > :17:20.to talk to you. He has won a gold medal already. He last! You are

:17:21. > :17:26.tough! We have to expect good things from him. Anything other than a gold

:17:27. > :17:30.medal is not good enough? For him. I'm beginning to see why you are a

:17:31. > :17:37.dominant nation. Lovely to speak to you. I want to take you to the

:17:38. > :17:47.seaside, well, it is grander than that. Let us wander down. As close

:17:48. > :17:54.as we can. Steady on! We are on Copacabana beach, which churches

:17:55. > :17:59.about four kilometres. There are markers on the way along. Number six

:18:00. > :18:09.is down there, number two is down there. The sailing venue is all the

:18:10. > :18:14.way down the beach, you cannot see it at the moment, but at the far end

:18:15. > :18:17.is Sugarloaf Mountain and over there is the marina where all the sailing

:18:18. > :18:22.is taking place. That is where we are going so surely Robinson can

:18:23. > :18:29.give us an update of what is happening. Day two on the waters and

:18:30. > :18:34.five of the ten sailing fleet are in action. Nick MC is looking to

:18:35. > :18:41.consolidate on yesterday's dominant performance. Bryony Shaw and the

:18:42. > :18:50.world champions Nick Thomson, all need to start making an impact and

:18:51. > :19:03.into the fray, TVs great medal hope, Giles Scott. -- Team GB. The media,

:19:04. > :19:08.thank you when a gold medal, how have you responded to that. It is

:19:09. > :19:11.not the way I think about it personally. I am entering these

:19:12. > :19:16.games are very confident but I am not as a about the feet that will

:19:17. > :19:23.have to be done. These games will be equally as hard if not harder and it

:19:24. > :19:28.is never over until it is over. I wonder how much you want to stop

:19:29. > :19:33.talking about it and is get on with it. It feels like a long time

:19:34. > :19:40.coming. As you get closer, it quickly creeps up on you. It is the

:19:41. > :19:45.time to put all the chat to one time and get that one side and get Giles

:19:46. > :19:49.Scott was denied the chance to represent Britain in 2012 when Ben

:19:50. > :19:55.Ainslie got the slot and went on to win the gold medal. Today was the

:19:56. > :20:02.day that he has been working towards for eight years. Very congested for

:20:03. > :20:10.the men's heavyweight, the fin class gets underway with Greece leading up

:20:11. > :20:17.the pen-macro. That looks like the Danish sailor sailing well. Denmark

:20:18. > :20:26.on the left. Greece taking up the WinWord position. Giles Scott being

:20:27. > :20:33.forced to tack out. He was the guy who was battling with Ben Ainslie in

:20:34. > :20:41.Weymouth and he was the guy who made him angry, if I rightly. Giles has

:20:42. > :20:52.had to tack out -- if I remember rightly. Giles Scott not in the lead

:20:53. > :20:59.but in among the leading pack. Giles Scott is running out of time to get

:21:00. > :21:05.back into that front pack. And he was never able to get back into it.

:21:06. > :21:10.In a race won by the Argentinian, Britain's hope for gold finished

:21:11. > :21:15.17th. I feel like I have been saying this a lot already but this is a

:21:16. > :21:20.very unpredictable venue and four Giles Scott, not the start he would

:21:21. > :21:25.have hoped for but he knows how to bounce back. He changed cells and

:21:26. > :21:33.then dear to get a good start in the second race of the day. He finished

:21:34. > :21:37.fourth and found himself upgraded to third. Super tricky racing and

:21:38. > :21:41.unfortunately for me that showed in the first race. One minute you think

:21:42. > :21:48.you will be in front and then you are not. It was incredibly tricky.

:21:49. > :21:52.About as hard as that course gets, unfortunately. Elsewhere neck

:21:53. > :21:58.Thompson and Alison Young were unable to improve. Thompson filed an

:21:59. > :22:04.ninth and the 15th while young got a 30 and 26. We still have a long way

:22:05. > :22:11.to go. It is a difficult venue. It will only get tougher. Do not change

:22:12. > :22:16.too much, I keep running away, I know I can do it when I am on form.

:22:17. > :22:22.I will try and improve a little bit and see what happens. Slightly

:22:23. > :22:26.better news for Brian Reade Shaw, she clawed way back into the top ten

:22:27. > :22:34.-- go Bryony Shaw. Nick Dempsey was still firing. He extended his lead

:22:35. > :22:40.at the top of the leaderboard. Despite a swim at the top mark of

:22:41. > :22:44.six. It was an angry Dempsey who came ashore after finishing the race

:22:45. > :22:50.14, his overall lead shaved to one point. We understand there was an

:22:51. > :22:59.altercation at the top of the course, talk us through what

:23:00. > :23:04.happened. I think someone caught me. Hopefully, fingers crossed we will

:23:05. > :23:09.go to the jury this evening and protest and hopefully, there is a

:23:10. > :23:15.possibility that I might get points back. We will see. Now, we are

:23:16. > :23:20.halfway through and you are one point clear between yourself and

:23:21. > :23:25.your competitor, how was your confidence? It is great. I am

:23:26. > :23:31.leading the Olympic Games. That is really cool and I'm very happy. The

:23:32. > :23:37.protest was successful and the verdict, his points for the race

:23:38. > :23:42.will be based on an average score. If he continues on current form,

:23:43. > :23:45.that will be a spectacular outcome. A mixed day for neck Dempsey, Giles

:23:46. > :23:50.Scott in touch and other struggling at the end of the second day of

:23:51. > :23:58.sailing, Rio was all was going to be difficult and it is living up to its

:23:59. > :24:02.billing. -- always. It is a cool job speeding along in a boat talking

:24:03. > :24:07.about sailing. IPod I was privileged but surely is enjoying herself and

:24:08. > :24:24.she will be back for a date three of the regatta -- I thought I was

:24:25. > :24:28.privileged. Those in charge of BBC sailing -- Team GB, say there is a

:24:29. > :24:38.good medal chance, we could be celebrating some Team GB medals in

:24:39. > :24:42.the sailing later on. So much information coming in through social

:24:43. > :24:48.media. JoJo says thank you for all the banter. Random page interviews

:24:49. > :24:56.and stalking of locals as well. It is just gentle chitchat! I am happy

:24:57. > :25:03.to watch Dan commentate on Anthony Wall Thompson for the next couple of

:25:04. > :25:14.hours. There he is, can you see him? Can you see the kites? That is the

:25:15. > :25:19.first time we have seen kites. On Anthony Thompson, Dorothy says what

:25:20. > :25:29.is wrong with wearing the same top twice? Rio BO. If he does it a third

:25:30. > :25:30.time, if he is here tomorrow with the same top on, we will have a

:25:31. > :25:40.chat. We are looking for the three things

:25:41. > :25:43.outside the normal headlines of the day have a chat did our attention,

:25:44. > :25:52.if you have seen something today and you would like us to feature on it

:25:53. > :25:55.before we finish, send it through to us. One thing we think will be in

:25:56. > :26:02.there with the Japanese victory over New Zealand, we will go back to

:26:03. > :26:06.rugby sevens. The rugby sevens has been a real highlight today. The one

:26:07. > :26:13.that we have not shown you took place in the same pool as Fiji, USA

:26:14. > :26:20.taking on Brazil, here is your commentary team once again.

:26:21. > :26:34.Host nation Brazil against the United States of America. Clash of

:26:35. > :26:37.the Americas. Brazil were beaten by Fiji in the first round, USA were

:26:38. > :26:54.eaten by Argentina. -- beaten. One of the two trends in the

:26:55. > :27:22.Brazilian side. Daniel comes away with it. His

:27:23. > :27:38.brother knocks on and possession is handed back to the United States and

:27:39. > :27:54.they have a chance. Gareth. Penalty against the United States.

:27:55. > :28:21.There he is, passing the ball. Marvelling at the tackle. Really

:28:22. > :28:39.excellent play from Brazil. Great atmosphere. Best atmosphere of the

:28:40. > :28:45.day. Juliano Fiori wins well. Matt O'Brien from Australia, allowed a

:28:46. > :28:59.certain latitude there on the part of the tackle. 29-macro puts it into

:29:00. > :29:06.the 22, throwing for Brazil -- Lucas Duque. Brazil have the ball 30 yards

:29:07. > :29:10.out. He is now 20 yards out, there is no need to do it. I do not

:29:11. > :29:23.understand when teams are so close that they do that. A lot of running

:29:24. > :29:37.around. Crazy decision. We have not seen this man in action yet. Baker.

:29:38. > :29:45.Absolute flyer. Offside advantage being played. The pass is good. He

:29:46. > :29:58.is going to score the first try of the night and the USA are in the

:29:59. > :30:02.lead. Great try by the USA, but why did Brazil go for the line-out and

:30:03. > :30:06.give them the ball? The ball is guaranteed and the try came from

:30:07. > :30:14.that. They were applying -- playing so well and then decided to do that.

:30:15. > :30:19.Great scorer to be fair by the USA, Niua takes his chance, but when

:30:20. > :30:26.Brazil have the ball, they should keep it and play.

:30:27. > :30:38.Folau Niua will also take the restart. Result don't seem to be too

:30:39. > :30:46.upset at going behind. Niua for Baker to chase, great athleticism.

:30:47. > :30:56.He went miles up in the air. Niua has it back. Ebner. Special teams

:30:57. > :31:03.play with the New England Patriots. Not the current champions. The

:31:04. > :31:12.referee again will not quite allow... We get to see Perry Baker

:31:13. > :31:19.again. Wow. Australian rules, leg up on the shoulder, that is absolutely

:31:20. > :31:25.fantastic. Baker is so quick. He could go into the high jump! They

:31:26. > :31:34.use him on the line-out and also the restart and that amazing. The

:31:35. > :31:35.powerhouse gets a pass away to Ben Pinkelman and Madison Hughes cannot

:31:36. > :31:52.take it. Madison Hughes is there real

:31:53. > :31:56.linchpin in terms of the USA team, the captain of the team. He took a

:31:57. > :32:02.big hit this morning so it's good to see him back, he must be OK for the

:32:03. > :32:06.one player the USA haven't used yet is Carlin Isles who I think is the

:32:07. > :32:11.fastest man the tournament so I hope we see him at some stage. Do you

:32:12. > :32:19.think because of the physique of Perry Baker that they might not want

:32:20. > :32:26.two leggy flyers out there? There is Nate Ebner, nothing leggy or

:32:27. > :32:33.vulnerable about him! They started with Chris Wyles who we all know,

:32:34. > :32:39.plays at Saracens, in the centre. I think it is like for like, you have

:32:40. > :32:47.to play Baker or Isles and I hope they give Isles ago today. It has

:32:48. > :32:57.come away but knocked on by Brazil. One minute to go in this first half.

:32:58. > :33:03.It is the smaller teams today, Brazil and Spain and Japan

:33:04. > :33:07.especially can take a bow because all 12 teams have already added

:33:08. > :33:13.hugely to this Olympic men's seven aside tournament.

:33:14. > :33:25.Good football skills from Lucas Duque. Not such good handling skills

:33:26. > :33:32.and a simple lock on. A last chance for America. It is the yellow,

:33:33. > :33:34.anything, throwing the ball away disrespectfully and you are off for

:33:35. > :33:49.two minutes. Duque will be disappointed with

:33:50. > :33:55.that, he did not throw it that far away. Perry Baker is waiting, will

:33:56. > :34:02.he have a chance? They go long and said to Ben Pinkelman. He goes

:34:03. > :34:11.ruggedly for the corner and now it is coming the way of Baker. Nate

:34:12. > :34:21.Ebner does not need him. He scores. He is a unit. I was watching him in

:34:22. > :34:28.the gym the other day and he is absolutely huge. I trust you were

:34:29. > :34:32.out lifting him! He is so powerful. You need players like this in the

:34:33. > :34:38.game, a balance between the pace and power we have seen from the South

:34:39. > :34:41.African and Argentinian forward and Ebner is right up there. Great to

:34:42. > :34:47.see these NFL players coming into the seven aside game. Drawn by the

:34:48. > :35:05.Olympics. At half-time, 14-0. Up goes Perry Baker against an even

:35:06. > :35:13.higher this time with a bit of an assist. He seems quite happy at

:35:14. > :35:21.altitude. That is a terrific handoff by Pinkelman and not a bad release

:35:22. > :35:25.to Ebner either. He seems to have taken to rugby union without too

:35:26. > :35:31.many problems. Chris Wyles should be clear but that is a fabulous tackle

:35:32. > :35:38.on him and it is knocked on by Niua. The tackle from Martin Schaefer.

:35:39. > :35:47.Sorry, it wasn't him, it was Felipe Sancery, one of the twins. Great

:35:48. > :35:57.action here as Pinkelman, the big man taking it forward. Martin

:35:58. > :36:01.Schaefer comes on for Brazil. Duque awaits his return. Eight seconds to

:36:02. > :36:14.go. Back on any moment now. Six man Brazil for the moment. Duque

:36:15. > :36:23.will have to wait for the next interruption.

:36:24. > :36:32.Getting a player yellow carded in this game, you have absolutely no

:36:33. > :36:37.chance. It is discipline in your players, especially in the knockout

:36:38. > :36:42.players, it is absolutely crucial. -- the knockout games.

:36:43. > :36:53.Not a lot on out wide because they only have six. They have done pretty

:36:54. > :36:55.well. Coming out to the 22. They have got themselves a penalty and

:36:56. > :37:08.now Duque will return. Seven against seven again. Duque

:37:09. > :37:14.back on which is good to see. Brazil really have been a credit to the

:37:15. > :37:20.tournament. They don't have the experience of the American team but

:37:21. > :37:30.like this morning against Fiji, they have played very well. Schaefer in

:37:31. > :37:36.the line-out and Gustavo Albuquerque has also come on. I have noticed

:37:37. > :37:45.that Perry Baker is coming off. Carlin Isles is on. I hope he gets

:37:46. > :37:51.the ball. Five minutes to go. Again, Brazil cannot win their own

:37:52. > :37:57.line-out. Kicking for Dutch from the penalty has worked against them.

:37:58. > :38:00.Niua, Carlin Isles is right on the other side of the field but they are

:38:01. > :38:10.not going there yet because Winkleman was almost away but he

:38:11. > :38:13.knocks on. -- Pinkelman. The Americans are showing a certain

:38:14. > :38:18.naivete which I'm surprised about with them being coached by Mike

:38:19. > :38:24.Friday. They came to the short side where there were two Brazilian

:38:25. > :38:34.players. On the left side, four American players and on the end of

:38:35. > :38:37.the line was Carlin Isles. It is simple reading of the game. Zack

:38:38. > :38:58.Test is on for the USA. Brazil give away a free kick. Not a

:38:59. > :39:19.penalty. Let's get on with it quickly, says

:39:20. > :39:24.the referee. Niua takes it. Did Ebner obstruct? Nearly a first

:39:25. > :39:35.chance to have a look at Carlin Isles. Brazil come away with it and

:39:36. > :39:48.the crowd bursts into life. Daniel Sancery. Stefano Giantorno. Duque.

:39:49. > :39:51.Albuquerque. Schaefer. Excellent work by the new player and that is a

:39:52. > :40:02.knock on. The Stadium has erupted. There is

:40:03. > :40:34.going to be... A yellow I think. Nate Ebner is in the bin. Was there

:40:35. > :40:40.a knock on? I wasn't sure. I'm looking down, this is Albuquerque

:40:41. > :40:45.who does not looked in great shape. I was not sure what the yellow card

:40:46. > :40:54.was for. Ebner, the redeye and player. -- gridiron player. It was a

:40:55. > :41:02.late hit. In he comes. I think that's a good call. A bit

:41:03. > :41:07.disappointed with Ebner, it was a bit of a cheap shot and he didn't

:41:08. > :41:16.need to do it. And you can't play this game with six against seven saw

:41:17. > :41:24.a big chance for Brazil. Albuquerque who seems to have recovered but they

:41:25. > :41:31.have lost it. A chance lost. I really want to see Brazil score at

:41:32. > :41:36.try. The smaller side have all had remarkable bays and they have a

:41:37. > :41:39.couple of minutes with six against seven. Don't panic, hold the ball

:41:40. > :41:46.and recycle and they have good enough players to score against this

:41:47. > :41:51.United States team. It has been a disjointed display from America who

:41:52. > :41:55.are one of the outside favourite for the tournament. You want to see

:41:56. > :42:05.Brazil score, I would like to see the Carlin Isles have a run at full

:42:06. > :42:10.tilt. I think he is under ten. I agree, I would like to see him. He

:42:11. > :42:22.is on the six-man team at the moment. He is on the outside. Maka

:42:23. > :42:35.Unufe is held down, they still have a chance. This way, not that way!

:42:36. > :42:39.The barrelling power of Danny Barrett. Duque comes away with it.

:42:40. > :42:44.Now Carlin Isles seems to be clutching his hamstring having gone

:42:45. > :42:53.up in support. I think he is all right. Perhaps he is asking for the

:42:54. > :42:56.ball. He was flying. Just give him it and it was a run in. Another one

:42:57. > :43:03.in the bin. America with the extra man should be

:43:04. > :43:28.able to work the overlap. Barrett. It has all gone a little bit scrappy

:43:29. > :43:33.which is disappointing for the game. It has become a little bit frenetic.

:43:34. > :43:37.Sevens is a very simple game, get the ball and keep it, recycle it,

:43:38. > :43:48.play with your head up and find space. This is another Duque in the

:43:49. > :44:04.bin. We have had Moises and now this is Lucas. There is a lot of space

:44:05. > :44:10.when it is six against six. Go on, did it to Isles, go on. Outside,

:44:11. > :44:24.outside and that is what Carlin Isles is all about. He is a

:44:25. > :44:35.wonderful player. You got your wish. He is gas! If I was the Americans, I

:44:36. > :44:40.would be getting back to see if we could get another try. You can have

:44:41. > :44:45.your wish now, come on, Brazil, you can score to see if you can raise

:44:46. > :44:51.what roof there isn't in this stadium. I think your book to give

:44:52. > :44:55.it a big shot in these big games. I would be very to play Carlin Isles

:44:56. > :45:02.in the starting team along with Perry Baker, probably moving Chris

:45:03. > :45:07.Wyles to play alongside Madison Hughes. That would be my back

:45:08. > :45:16.division, and absolutely go for it. Albuquerque takes the pass.

:45:17. > :45:30.The siren goes. The next page is the end. Let us go from here. We have

:45:31. > :45:35.seen a little bit of 22-macro, a little bit of everyone. I do not

:45:36. > :45:59.know why we are bothering, it is a penalty # row Carlin Isles?. Let us

:46:00. > :46:12.go -- Carlin Isles?. That is it. It can only be an American try now. Out

:46:13. > :46:17.on the far side. Off we go. He is going to complete the scoring

:46:18. > :46:25.tonight and the USC march into tomorrow with a win under their

:46:26. > :46:37.belts. -- USA. That was a shame for Brazil. Maka Unufe scored. Maka

:46:38. > :46:42.Unufe, great athlete. There are some athletes in the USA team who were a

:46:43. > :46:46.surprise but they will be disappointed, they were not quite in

:46:47. > :46:50.their stride, they do not quite know their best start in seven at the

:46:51. > :46:56.moment, but at least the win is there. The USA win by 26-0. How do

:46:57. > :47:04.think your plane at the moment as 18? A lot of things we can do

:47:05. > :47:12.better, that is the game of sevens. -- high do you think you are playing

:47:13. > :47:16.at the moment as a team? Things could have gone better. I got a

:47:17. > :47:21.yellow card, that was terrible. At the end of the day, we got the job

:47:22. > :47:27.done. I was talking to someone earlier and said that your website

:47:28. > :47:31.normally get 2000 heads away, you have had 9 million hits in the last

:47:32. > :47:39.24 hours, a lot of people are interested -- hits per week.

:47:40. > :47:45.Hopefully we are putting on a show and hopefully guys would like to get

:47:46. > :47:52.involved. It is a great game. Does that put on the pressure? I do not

:47:53. > :47:56.know. We are trying to do one job at a time. Ultimately we are here for

:47:57. > :48:01.each other and as hard as we have worked, the men who have worked with

:48:02. > :48:14.us, ultimately that is what we are here for. Thank you. Nate Ebner has

:48:15. > :48:17.a fascinating back story. He played the at college in America and in his

:48:18. > :48:22.final year he started playing American food all. He then went to

:48:23. > :48:26.the New England Patriots, one the Super Bowl and he is currently on a

:48:27. > :48:32.leave of absence to play rug the severance -- football. That shows

:48:33. > :48:48.you what the Olympics means. This guy has won everything -- rugby

:48:49. > :48:52.sevens. Matthew McConaughey was there today. He is at the beach

:48:53. > :48:57.volleyball tonight and we will be there later. Hope fully we can show

:48:58. > :49:04.you what is happening there now. -- hopefully. Hopefully they will turn

:49:05. > :49:12.on the lights. It looks a bit sinister. We will bring you some of

:49:13. > :49:17.that darkness later. It could be the worst hour of television and you

:49:18. > :49:20.have ever seen. We are on until two o'clock in the morning and I think

:49:21. > :49:30.it is about time we brought you some headlines. Matthew McConaughey would

:49:31. > :49:35.like to know that team USA defended the team gymnastics title helped in

:49:36. > :49:42.the all-round favourite who was unbelievable. Tim -- Team GB

:49:43. > :49:47.finished in fifth place. Also fifth place for Tania Couch and Lois

:49:48. > :49:51.Toulson in the synchronised diving. It went down to the last I've but

:49:52. > :50:00.China took the gold, Team GB down in fifth place. Big win for Johanna

:50:01. > :50:05.Konta in the tennis. Serena Williams went out. The draw is opening up for

:50:06. > :50:15.Johanna Konta who will take on Angelique kerb -- Angelique Kerber.

:50:16. > :50:18.Andy Murray is also through. Good day for Katherine Grainger who is on

:50:19. > :50:26.course to win a fifth Olympic medal. Her and her partner but their place

:50:27. > :50:33.in the finals. -- booked their place. Lots of rugby. Two wins today

:50:34. > :50:39.for Team GB including one over Japan. Japan earlier shot New

:50:40. > :50:47.Zealand, the favourites for the title by beating them earlier --

:50:48. > :50:52.shop at. On BBC One, you can watch the last few left in the

:50:53. > :51:01.weightlifting. That is live on BBC One the moment. -- lifts. We promise

:51:02. > :51:05.you we would tell you what was happening with the diving. If you

:51:06. > :51:10.are watching the diving earlier, there were lots of people asking

:51:11. > :51:15.about why the water was green. Yesterday when Tom Daley and Daniel

:51:16. > :51:20.Goodfellow were in their, it was blue. The pool next to it was still

:51:21. > :51:24.blue but the diving pool was a weird cucumber green. Hopefully we have a

:51:25. > :51:34.picture. There has been an official statement. They say they have tested

:51:35. > :51:39.the water and it is safe, which I suppose is the most important thing.

:51:40. > :51:44.They have no explanation as to why it is green. I think we all could

:51:45. > :51:51.perhaps come up with an explanation but we will not go there. Thank you

:51:52. > :51:55.for your suggestions. A remarkable number of swimming pool technicians

:51:56. > :52:07.who are viewers and we appreciate that. Some of your other texts and

:52:08. > :52:14.tweets, the hashtag is Rio 2016. Someone is asking about the beach

:52:15. > :52:20.volleyball. Coming up shortly. Calum Waters asking about the Green diving

:52:21. > :52:26.pool. Another tweet says can you do they watch run into the sea. No.

:52:27. > :52:32.Another one after they can ask for my glasses in the Atlantic? We have

:52:33. > :52:37.a few members of the crew who could sort that out. Although I mistakenly

:52:38. > :52:43.said about 20 minutes ago that there was a BBC is sailing team, I meant

:52:44. > :52:51.Team GB, but thank you for all of you who sent in your suggestions for

:52:52. > :53:02.who would be in a BBC sailing team, ...

:53:03. > :53:14.Keep sending your tweets and messages. We will bring you some

:53:15. > :53:20.boxing now. Yesterday you may have seen Paddy Barnes who lost yesterday

:53:21. > :53:28.and today we will concentrate on Danny Joyce who is trying to get a

:53:29. > :53:32.place in the lightweight. He is taking on the contender from

:53:33. > :53:45.Azerbaijan and our commentary comes from Richie Woodhall and Ron

:53:46. > :53:52.McIntosh. Into the third and final round and the man in red needs a

:53:53. > :54:05.huge final round. He is trailing by two points. He needs a 10-8 round to

:54:06. > :54:18.get back to parity from judges a and C. Albert Selimov is in a good

:54:19. > :54:23.position. It is not impossible here for David Joyce. Albert Selimov

:54:24. > :54:28.knows he is in front. Cheeky left uppercut from Albert Selimov. It is

:54:29. > :54:32.a game to engage. That is the problem for David Joyce. If he comes

:54:33. > :54:39.forward, gives them a chance to land that right hand over the top. He is

:54:40. > :54:47.moving away. Big impact on the target. The target moving away. He

:54:48. > :54:54.needs him to come forward. Wonderful corkscrew left. Albert Selimov, not

:54:55. > :55:00.much on these punches. Keep them ticking over. Piling up the points.

:55:01. > :55:05.Leaving a favourable impression in the mind of the judges. Clever

:55:06. > :55:09.boxer. What he does is he make sure he wins the first round and if he

:55:10. > :55:16.does that, your partner has got to chase. It is a pattern, going into

:55:17. > :55:24.the third round, he is ahead and David Joyce has to chase and it is

:55:25. > :55:30.difficult. David Joyce, the three-time reigning European

:55:31. > :55:40.Championship gold medallist. Got the title in 2014, 2008 and 2009, the

:55:41. > :55:49.seven time reigning Irish champion. The iconic figure of Albert Selimov

:55:50. > :55:53.is trailing heavily. His punches are repelled. Does not look as though he

:55:54. > :56:01.will produce the 10-8 round that he needs to get back on a level. That

:56:02. > :56:06.was a good right hand by the man in red. That is where David Joyce has

:56:07. > :56:11.to keep it. Keep him on the ropes. Because he is so clever, he knows it

:56:12. > :56:17.is a danger area. It is rare he makes those mistakes, he has made it

:56:18. > :56:23.now, his feet are quite square. He was fighting off the ropes and he is

:56:24. > :56:32.whereupon. Still dangerous. He landed a great shot. That is where

:56:33. > :56:37.David Joyce has to keep them, it is the only place in his opinion where

:56:38. > :56:41.he can land a big shot and if he keeps his feet square, Albert

:56:42. > :56:45.Selimov, when he comes forward, he has a chance, David Joyce. He needs

:56:46. > :56:52.the knockout punch now against the man who was reluctant to engage.

:56:53. > :56:57.David Oliver Joyce running out of time. He is chasing this elusive

:56:58. > :57:04.figure around the boxing ring and cannot tag him cleanly.

:57:05. > :57:13.There is the Bell to conclude three rounds of boxing in this lightweight

:57:14. > :57:20.division. Second preliminary round action. One suspects it is this man

:57:21. > :57:23.who has opened his Olympic account here in Rio during this contest and

:57:24. > :57:28.will prevail and advance at the expense of David Oliver Joyce. You

:57:29. > :57:33.have to give it David Joyce credit for the effort he put in in the last

:57:34. > :57:38.round. He was chasing Albert Selimov all the way, great left uppercut

:57:39. > :57:45.from Albert Selimov. Clever man on the back foot, making his opponent

:57:46. > :57:49.launch the attacks, brings him on two shots, I think David Joyce had

:57:50. > :57:55.some success, he caught him several times. Such a hard man to pin down

:57:56. > :57:58.because he knows he is in front, he is protecting a lead, very

:57:59. > :58:11.experienced and hard to beat in that position.

:58:12. > :58:32.Ladies and gentlemen, the winner by unanimous decision... In the blue

:58:33. > :58:37.corner... Albert Selimov! So Albert Selimov gets his Olympic campaign

:58:38. > :58:40.underway with a victory here in Rio 2016. He is through to the

:58:41. > :58:50.quarterfinal stage, what about we have in prospect there because he

:58:51. > :59:01.will be squaring off against the French competitor, Sofiane Oumiha

:59:02. > :59:07.and they have a bit of history. It was not enough for David Joyce to

:59:08. > :59:12.close the two deficit he faced. Disappointment for David Joyce. Not

:59:13. > :59:15.a good time for the Irish boxers. Boxing is one of those sports which

:59:16. > :59:22.is all on every single day of these games. It is going to be a busy few

:59:23. > :59:26.weeks for Ron McIntosh and Richie were all. We will bring you as much

:59:27. > :59:31.as we can. There are some fantastic out as we give in to the later

:59:32. > :59:36.rounds. A couple more messages. We had a romantic couple who

:59:37. > :59:40.disappeared when we were going to speak to them. James would like to

:59:41. > :59:46.know if it is the same couple in the same spot from yesterday. It is not.

:59:47. > :59:51.There is no flask involved and was a flask yesterday. This is the spot,

:59:52. > :59:56.if you're watching for the first time, this is the chemin's corner

:59:57. > :59:58.were normally there are people fishing into the Atlantic but

:59:59. > :00:02.tonight, no one is here. Maybe Tuesday is not fishing night. We are

:00:03. > :00:13.here for a couple of weeks. Kane has asked, is it wrong or

:00:14. > :00:21.strange that my 14-year-old is not watching late the Olympics? No, it's

:00:22. > :00:25.not. We're going to take you now to the beach volleyball. Let's explain

:00:26. > :00:29.how this works as we go down the other rent of Copacabana. We are

:00:30. > :00:36.going to show you the action from court EE. So will be of Iran. The

:00:37. > :00:44.top two from each pool -- the other end. This is pool E, which has

:00:45. > :00:46.Switzerland, Canada, Netherlands and Germany ended. We are going to watch

:00:47. > :00:59.Germany take on the Dutch. Your commentator is Brit hock of

:01:00. > :01:08.our. Beach volleyball live on BBC Four. That has drifted quite height

:01:21. > :02:00.Great block. Really aggressive set by Borger. Didn't seem like Buthe

:02:01. > :02:34.quite got her feet to the ball. Borger got stuck at the net. She got

:02:35. > :02:43.herself a blog in that situation. We are tied at 3-3.

:02:44. > :02:59.Ball goes long. We switch at 4-3. Borger and Buthe of Germany, Germany

:52:11. > :52:18.Team GB tomorrow at 8:30pm, half past 12 back in the UK. Belgium top

:52:19. > :52:23.the way with a perfect record so far, and Great Britain are in third,

:52:24. > :52:29.they have had a win, a draw and a defeat. It is their game against

:52:30. > :52:32.Australia tomorrow, and after their victory today, that could be

:52:33. > :52:37.significant, because as you can see, just below the New Zealand- Spain

:52:38. > :52:43.results, Brazil 1-9 Great Britain, goal difference could turn out to be

:52:44. > :52:59.crucial in this pool. And after that match, Richard Hill SAD spoke to the

:53:00. > :53:03.Team GB coach. -- Richie Passad. You have to work really hard to open up

:53:04. > :53:07.teams who are going to defend, I thought the execution could have

:53:08. > :53:12.been better, but we kept going, and I am pleased the lads played with

:53:13. > :53:17.intensity to put Brazil on the back foot and open them up. To win by a

:53:18. > :53:26.big scoreline, people make it look easy, but it is hard work. And you

:53:27. > :53:30.took the decision late on to take George off, the tactics, are you

:53:31. > :53:34.looking at the future games against Spain, Australia, wondering what

:53:35. > :53:37.will happen? Yes, we don't know whether goal difference will make a

:53:38. > :53:44.difference or not, so we just needed to keep scoring, I felt Brazil had

:53:45. > :53:47.tired because they had to do so much defending, so that was why we could

:53:48. > :53:52.put another player on upfront, didn't want to do it much earlier,

:53:53. > :53:56.but that was the reason. What have you made of the progress so far?

:53:57. > :53:59.There was disappointment in the first match with Belgium, a little

:54:00. > :54:04.better against New Zealand. Has it been progression in your mind?

:54:05. > :54:08.Without doubt, we will pour the first game, a lot of soul-searching

:54:09. > :54:11.after that, and even after the New Zealand game where we improved a

:54:12. > :54:15.lot, we were still disappointed with a lot of our play. But we are

:54:16. > :54:20.getting better, tonight is a very different game to the rest of the

:54:21. > :54:24.tournament, but we can take it to Australia and bring our best hockey

:54:25. > :54:27.which we know is a match anyone. Bobby, thank you for your time, well

:54:28. > :54:32.done tonight. A big day tomorrow the Team GB's

:54:33. > :54:36.men's hockey side. Thank you for your company on BBC Four today, it

:54:37. > :54:42.has been a great David the Olympics. Samad results, New Zealand against

:54:43. > :54:47.Japan, and in the tennis, yet another top seed goes out. In the

:54:48. > :54:50.men's and women's singles and doubles, all four of the top seeds

:54:51. > :54:55.in those various disciplines have gone out by round three. It makes

:54:56. > :55:01.good reading for both Andy Murray and Johanna Konta who are both into

:55:02. > :55:03.the quarterfinals of the men's and women's singles as well, we will

:55:04. > :55:08.continue to follow their progress, and one other thing to show you

:55:09. > :55:12.before we leave, we have our Rio trio, but have a look at this goal

:55:13. > :55:18.from Columbia's women, their first ever point in the Olympic football

:55:19. > :55:25.came courtesy of that last-minute equaliser, wonderful free kick from

:55:26. > :55:33.Katarina Osman. You might be tempted to say dodgy goalkeeping from Hope

:55:34. > :55:38.Solo, this is her 201st international cap, but it was quite

:55:39. > :55:43.a strike. When you see the replay, you probably will understand why she

:55:44. > :55:50.wasn't happy. It finished USA 2-2 Columbia, taking place deep into

:55:51. > :55:59.added time, to the final score, and both the men's and women's world

:56:00. > :56:07.take race about ten miles from here. A lovely free kick, but Hope Solo

:56:08. > :56:11.might think she should have got a touch. Thank you for all of your

:56:12. > :56:18.texts and tweets. I'm sorry we haven't been able to read all of

:56:19. > :56:21.them out. The Rio trio of a free stories we think of stood out across

:56:22. > :56:25.the day, some have made guidelines and some have, but these are the

:56:26. > :56:30.ones we think you will be talking about tomorrow morning. It is

:56:31. > :56:39.tomorrow morning already in the UK! On today. -- later on today. A fifth

:56:40. > :56:44.successive gold for China in the women's ten metre synchro diving.

:56:45. > :56:52.They were braving the green water. Remember it was safe.

:56:53. > :56:59.We went a bit early with our Japan News of the bottom of the screen.

:57:00. > :57:08.They were the hot favourite -- of a stunned the hot favourites in their

:57:09. > :57:16.pool game, that was the headline win on day four of the games. And Simone

:57:17. > :57:28.Biles led defending champions USA to a fantastic victory in the women's

:57:29. > :57:32.team gymnastics. And that actually leads me to my statistic of the day

:57:33. > :57:38.which I did check earlier. You will dazzle your mates with this. Did you

:57:39. > :57:42.know, number of individual crystals on the Team USA gymnastics leotard,

:57:43. > :57:49.this is officially a leotard stat, the first one I have ever given out.

:57:50. > :57:58.2008, 184 crystals. 2012, 1188 crystals. These Rio games, 2016,

:57:59. > :58:04.5000 individual crystals. I told you it was special. A reminder as we

:58:05. > :58:08.come to the end on BBC Four tonight that BBC One continues with some

:58:09. > :58:20.incredible swimming finals. So much to look forward to, Katie Ledecky

:58:21. > :58:25.for the USA, and we have Chad Le Clos and Michael Phelps later.

:58:26. > :58:33.Michael Phelps actually lost in the final to the Hungarian swimmer, so

:58:34. > :58:39.it will be one to look out for as well but it will be billed as Chad

:58:40. > :58:44.Le Clos against Michael Phelps. And Team GB, I think that will be 2.30,

:58:45. > :58:50.Siobhan-Marie O'Connor going in the individual medley, she was fastest

:58:51. > :58:58.in the semifinals are a real chance of a medal for her, and right at the

:58:59. > :59:02.end of the swimming sequence, 3:30am, the world record holders in

:59:03. > :59:14.Team GB going fairly for by 200 metres freestyle. Thank you fewer

:59:15. > :59:22.time on BBC Four. Ore will be here tomorrow, we will be here in our

:59:23. > :59:28.kiosk/ beach hut. And the gymnastics tomorrow, Simone Biles is hot topic

:59:29. > :59:31.for tomorrow, she has been billed as the best female gymnast ever, and we

:59:32. > :59:34.will be seeing plenty more of her over the few days. From us on BBC

:59:35. > :59:37.Four, good night.
