:00:00. > :00:00.in second and Italy in third, with a chance for Great Britain's men's

:00:07. > :00:09.four to take the glory once again. Constantine Louloudis, enjoy the

:00:10. > :00:14.moment as well, what a smile on his face. I don't expect that is going

:00:15. > :00:19.to go for a while. Good job, the men's four, celebrate they might and

:00:20. > :00:22.that happened just after Glover and stunning, Helen Glover and Heather

:00:23. > :00:27.Stanning, did it once again in the women's pair, retaining their

:00:28. > :00:32.Olympic gold from London 2012 and then did it over a second ahead of

:00:33. > :00:36.New Zealand, two ahead of Denmark as well, so Great Britain with two gold

:00:37. > :00:41.medals down at the Lagoa Stadium this afternoon.

:00:42. > :00:48.He landed the killer blow in the first 500 metres, it was almost done

:00:49. > :00:53.then, wasn't it? It's not done until it's done, you have to get across

:00:54. > :00:58.the line first. We knew it was important to get a good start. I was

:00:59. > :01:05.a bit slow reacting compared to how I can do but four years. Heather was

:01:06. > :01:10.amazing. We have to say a massive thank you to Robina, our coach. He

:01:11. > :01:15.just put that together and that was him in four hours of hard work. He

:01:16. > :01:19.has been really ill at some points and away for many years and he

:01:20. > :01:27.deserves to be up here speaking to you guys. Just thanks to him.

:01:28. > :01:30.Without Robin, we would be nobody. He is an incredible athlete. He was

:01:31. > :01:33.a lightweight but he is an outstanding coach with what he has

:01:34. > :01:40.done with these girls in the last two years has been absolutely

:01:41. > :01:45.incredible. In the aftermath of that triumph, can you compare it to four

:01:46. > :01:48.years ago? It means so much more. We have put a lot of pressure on

:01:49. > :01:52.ourselves even though we tried to talk it down. I've been so emotional

:01:53. > :01:57.this week and that is not likely. It means so much to us. London was home

:01:58. > :02:01.Games and there is nothing more special but this is defending the

:02:02. > :02:06.title. This is proving we're not just good ones but we can be good

:02:07. > :02:10.everyday and it means so much. The pressure we put on ourselves is

:02:11. > :02:14.pretty immense and every time I have spoken to you I have said there's no

:02:15. > :02:21.pressure but inside .Mac we are dying. Can I take you back to the

:02:22. > :02:26.heat that didn't go as well as you wanted? Where you as calm as you

:02:27. > :02:30.seemed in the interviews? With a bit of hindsight we both felt it was a

:02:31. > :02:34.bit lately and crosswind. It wasn't an excuse but if we totally believed

:02:35. > :02:38.it was fair than I think we would have been quite stressed but in the

:02:39. > :02:45.back of our minds it was, OK, it was only a had a bit of wind and we knew

:02:46. > :02:50.than that. We have to go, but very quickly, you say about defending a

:02:51. > :02:55.title, but what about defending defending a title? You never know.

:02:56. > :03:02.We have got our families here to say thank you. We have to get Helen

:03:03. > :03:08.Marriage before we think about next year. I have to think about a

:03:09. > :03:18.wedding. Congratulations, you have a wedding ceremony. I know that Helen

:03:19. > :03:22.Glover 's fiancee is in Rio right now and he is probably down there at

:03:23. > :03:30.the stadium and what an emotional time for the whole family. They've

:03:31. > :03:34.retained their title but what about Twenty20? That can happen another

:03:35. > :03:38.day. Now those guys are enjoying their moment and Olympic gold for

:03:39. > :03:45.the second time. Congratulations to Helen and Heather. We can also bring

:03:46. > :03:49.you news of the first medal of the Games for Ireland. It came in the

:03:50. > :03:56.lightweight men's double sculls for the brothers Gary O'Donovan and Paul

:03:57. > :04:00.O'Donovan. The race was on in the end with France and Norway also

:04:01. > :04:08.joining them on the podium but Gary and Paul are brothers in arms.

:04:09. > :04:11.How excited are you? It is brilliant, we're Ireland's first

:04:12. > :04:14.Olympic rowing medallist ever and we are so proud to be had to represent

:04:15. > :04:21.Ireland living from the middle is unbelievable. What did you think at

:04:22. > :04:24.200 out, did you think you might win it? Since last September we thought

:04:25. > :04:28.we might win it and to come here we gave it everything we could. We came

:04:29. > :04:33.here with a silver medal and we are delighted. As brothers as well, the

:04:34. > :04:40.band of Brothers and the bond of brothers, how proud are you to be

:04:41. > :04:45.doing it with your mate? It is fantastic. He is a sound lad. We

:04:46. > :04:50.have arguments at times but to be up there with him on the podium and our

:04:51. > :04:54.parents are here as well watching and our family and friends, it's

:04:55. > :05:01.fantastic. You had a great day, and you will have a wonderful night.

:05:02. > :05:05.Many congratulations from all of us. ORE: well played to Ireland, they

:05:06. > :05:09.are on the board as far as the medal table is concerned. Have a look at

:05:10. > :05:15.Great Britain! Well up there in fourth place so far with 18 medals

:05:16. > :05:19.in total and a perfect spread. Six bronze, six silver and those two at

:05:20. > :05:23.the rowing today make it six of the best as well. Coming into today they

:05:24. > :05:28.were ahead of the tally from 2012 but I can tell you that on day

:05:29. > :05:36.74-macro years ago Great Britain won six medals. They are up to two so

:05:37. > :05:39.far with two gold and there are plenty of opportunities to make it

:05:40. > :05:42.even more later on today. It makes for a wonderful reading, doesn't it?

:05:43. > :05:46.Great Britain in fourth place. There could be more in the cycling because

:05:47. > :05:50.after the men's sprint did their job last night we are looking forward to

:05:51. > :05:55.seeing the team pursuit which will include Sir Bradley Wiggins and that

:05:56. > :05:58.is this evening. Not to kill the mood too much, we will go from a

:05:59. > :06:02.sport that Great Britain are very good at and win medals for funding,

:06:03. > :06:08.rowing, to one they haven't won an Olympic medal in for 50 years. I am

:06:09. > :06:11.talking about fencing. Despite some really good performances in the

:06:12. > :06:16.individual competition, including getting through to the bronze medal

:06:17. > :06:21.play-off, they haven't had such great success here so far. What

:06:22. > :06:31.about the team events? We will go there right now and see how Richard

:06:32. > :06:33.Kruse and his team-mates of James Andrew Davies and Laurence Halsted

:06:34. > :06:37.will get on. Before we see them in action, here is your guide to

:06:38. > :06:42.fencing. The aim of Olympic fencing is

:06:43. > :06:46.simple, to a the sword without being hit in the process. When a weapon

:06:47. > :06:50.makes contact with a fencers target area but it is recorded

:06:51. > :06:56.electronically, using wireless technology, and the point is scored.

:06:57. > :07:02.There are three types of swords in fencing, epee, foil and sabre. The

:07:03. > :07:05.epee is a heavy and thrusting sword with a triangular blade and hits are

:07:06. > :07:10.only scored with the point of the blade but they can be to any part of

:07:11. > :07:17.the body. Foyle is the lightest of the swords with a flexible,

:07:18. > :07:20.rectangular blade. Points can only be scored with the tip of the blade

:07:21. > :07:24.of land within the target area on the torso. The sabre is similar in

:07:25. > :07:28.length and weight to foil but events can cut with the blade as well as

:07:29. > :07:33.hit with the point. The target area for the sabre is from the waist to

:07:34. > :07:37.the top of the head. In foil and sabre at the rules of right of way

:07:38. > :07:42.strongly favour the fencer who attacks first, meaning both offences

:07:43. > :07:47.attacked simultaneously the point goes to the competitor who makes the

:07:48. > :07:52.first move. In the individual knockout competition each bout can

:07:53. > :07:56.last for 15 minutes but if a fencer makes a hit before the time expires

:07:57. > :08:01.the bout finishes. In the team events there are three fencers per

:08:02. > :08:05.team and each at competes against every fencer in the opposing team.

:08:06. > :08:09.The bout finishes after five hits or three minutes, whichever is sooner.

:08:10. > :08:15.The second bout finishes after a team makes ten hits or the bout

:08:16. > :08:18.reaches ten minutes. So it continues - is cumulative so a match continues

:08:19. > :08:25.when a team reaches 45 hits or after the ninth bout.

:08:26. > :08:34.And you can see how the great British trio get on in the

:08:35. > :08:38.quarterfinal of the men's quarterfinal foil right now over on

:08:39. > :08:44.BBC One. They are taking on Russia and the chance to change the score,

:08:45. > :08:50.having not won an Olympic medal for 50 years. Here on BBC Four we are

:08:51. > :08:54.going back to the badminton. We teased it for you earlier in the

:08:55. > :09:00.programme with Chris and Gabby Adcock waiting to change the record

:09:01. > :09:06.for British badminton players. They are in group B and they are taking

:09:07. > :09:12.on the Danish pair right now. They lost their opening match against the

:09:13. > :09:18.Chinese silver medallists from 2012 but right now they are against the

:09:19. > :09:20.Danish pair and leading by one set to love so we will go and join our

:09:21. > :09:53.commentators for this one. Well, how will this badminton

:09:54. > :09:58.bonanza unfold in the next nine days? Wall-to-wall action here from

:09:59. > :10:06.Pavilion for. There is some kind of distraction here but we are not sure

:10:07. > :10:11.what. There is an expectation on the fourth seeds to emerge and seed --

:10:12. > :10:17.unscathed here. The fourth teams are the team in black from Denmark, but

:10:18. > :10:23.they are really up against it with Chris and Gabby Babcock from Great

:10:24. > :10:28.Britain -- Adcock from Great Britain playing some seriously good

:10:29. > :10:38.badminton here. Both teams are so familiar with each other 's pattern

:10:39. > :10:39.of play. They are executing those patterns of play and those strengths

:10:40. > :11:03.as best they can. A lovely slice, and again. Reactive

:11:04. > :11:17.brilliance. Fischer Nielsen was quick to close to the net there to

:11:18. > :11:18.Christina 's delight. A tap of reassurance from Chris with the

:11:19. > :11:42.racket. A tight tumbling shot there from

:11:43. > :11:46.Christinna Pedersen. She is delighted with that. That is a

:11:47. > :12:23.precision strike. So reducing the deficit once again.

:12:24. > :12:27.Chris and Gabby Adcock here, a well played smash from Chris. Pedersen

:12:28. > :12:33.was frustrated because she thought she had the measure of that one but

:12:34. > :12:46.unable to counter it. It is all about getting runs of momentum.

:12:47. > :12:50.Click server from Gabby. That is a really excellent cross that shot

:12:51. > :13:02.from Chris Baird. Took all the speed and pace out and it was a deft

:13:03. > :13:11.touch. So, the longest rally in this match has been 38 shots, that was in

:13:12. > :13:23.the opening game. They have used 16 shuttles already. Hullabaloo on an

:13:24. > :13:31.adjacent court. You can see how menacing he is upstairs, can't you?

:13:32. > :13:38.Merciless smash. He is a lefty. So much pace. Of course, Chris is a

:13:39. > :13:43.lefty as well. Can he returned the compliment? It is a 1-point game.

:13:44. > :14:05.There is a long way to go. Brilliant from Gabby Adcock.

:14:06. > :14:10.Explosive first step onto that wonderful soft hands around the net.

:14:11. > :14:13.Kept the racket up throughout. Look at her, so seeking that one.

:14:14. > :14:30.Wonderful concentration. Deadlock on the scoreboard. Tension

:14:31. > :14:54.palpable. Each point now greeted with a roar.

:14:55. > :15:00.Each point so significant in the context of this group. This, for the

:15:01. > :15:06.British duo, is a must win match. Having lost their opener yesterday,

:15:07. > :15:12.but they did console themselves by taking a game in that opening match.

:15:13. > :15:15.That might count in the end. That is a good lead from Chris Adcock. Gabby

:15:16. > :15:21.gave him the cry of, leave. Unlike a lot of husbands, he's not

:15:22. > :15:56.entirely deaf! A quick towel down granted by the

:15:57. > :15:59.umpire. Pretty hot and sticky here in Riocentro pavilion four. It's

:16:00. > :16:03.been a crackling atmosphere throughout, it really has. There is

:16:04. > :16:07.always three sessions in the badminton. Starting at different

:16:08. > :16:14.times in the day. They start at eight K and, until 2pm, then 3:30pm

:16:15. > :16:18.until 6pm, then an evening session until 11pm. Medals -- medal

:16:19. > :16:32.ceremonies will be between the 17th - 20 August.

:16:33. > :16:45.172 athletes amongst five disciplines. Who will be other medal

:16:46. > :16:51.podiums? At the sharp end. It's eight two point game and the

:16:52. > :16:56.marginal underdogs in the ascendancy, just three world ranking

:16:57. > :16:57.spots between them, this team is seventh ranked and the seeds are

:16:58. > :17:29.fourth-ranked. I remember in Jakarta, the world

:17:30. > :17:33.champs of last year, they had to pull out of the quarterfinals of the

:17:34. > :17:39.mixed doubles, the Adcocks, it was really frustrating because Chris got

:17:40. > :17:46.Delhi belly, if you will, and they are very, very thorough. With all of

:17:47. > :17:50.the preparations. They were even using hand wipes, every time they

:17:51. > :17:55.were going in and out of doors, just to guard against anything like that,

:17:56. > :17:59.I was told. They are so professional in their preparations, but he still

:18:00. > :18:03.got sick and was unable to contest the quarterfinals, so they had to

:18:04. > :18:08.withdraw. That was really frustrating. There was a sort of, it

:18:09. > :18:13.was a dark day for British badminton, that one, I can recall

:18:14. > :18:16.it, I was there on site and it was a sad state of affairs because they've

:18:17. > :18:21.played so well to engineer a quarterfinal spot in the mixed

:18:22. > :18:29.doubles in Jakarta. It was an historic venue and they were

:18:30. > :18:33.completely deflated, understandably. So we are back on terms here, still

:18:34. > :18:37.nothing between them now. The Danes recovering well.

:18:38. > :18:52.Desperately trying to get high up the net so they can pick these shots

:18:53. > :18:58.up quickly. Take charge of the rallies, tight

:18:59. > :19:17.net shots are good of course. Good flat hard drive from Chris

:19:18. > :19:20.they're insured the point, so again it's a two point game and it's great

:19:21. > :19:24.to see them smiling and enjoying themselves out there. I'm sure it

:19:25. > :19:26.leads to better performance, when you are having fun in sport you are

:19:27. > :19:53.free and it all comes together. Oh, well, despite the terrific

:19:54. > :19:59.recovery from the Danes, the Britons managing to keep on the front foot

:20:00. > :20:09.throughout and it's an emphatic smash put away by this man.

:20:10. > :20:14.Joachim Fischer Nielsen was frustrated they couldn't turn that

:20:15. > :20:20.around. It's a three point game in favour of the Reds at the moment in

:20:21. > :20:30.this race to 21. They lost out yesterday did the Adcocks in a very

:20:31. > :20:34.close contest against the Chinese, ranked one spot above them. That's

:20:35. > :20:40.not contaminated their minds in this match, they have put that away,

:20:41. > :20:45.flushed it away. Focusing well here. Well, you always take a risk when

:20:46. > :20:48.you go for that flick serve against Joachim Fischer Nielsen but he

:20:49. > :20:56.normally does close the net down quickly. He was very alert there.

:20:57. > :21:05.But of course it's these stern tests that make you other teams stronger.

:21:06. > :21:17.Now the question and everybody's... Who will get across the finish line

:21:18. > :21:20.in this one. -- the question everybody is asking. Everyone is

:21:21. > :21:26.trying to quantify where their team is at. A good leave and a roar of

:21:27. > :21:30.delight of its build wide of the sideline. So they head to the

:21:31. > :21:33.mid-game interval with a 3-point lead, they grabbed the bags and

:21:34. > :21:38.change ends. Just snatching wide there, Fischer

:21:39. > :22:25.Nielsen of Denmark. You're doing great. It's all about

:22:26. > :22:31.relaxation skills between points and trying to get to the third quarter

:22:32. > :22:38.-- the front court, as often as they can. I think that's how I translated

:22:39. > :22:43.that advice from the coach. There was a lot of noise in the

:22:44. > :22:45.background. But it's a 3-point game in favour of the Reds. The Adcocks

:22:46. > :22:59.looking good. Can they sustain? That is big from Christinna

:23:00. > :23:22.Pedersen, she was wise to the flick serve from Gabby Adcock there.

:23:23. > :23:32.He gave it his all, so easy just over press and finding the tape in

:23:33. > :23:38.doing so. It's all about crossing that narrow Fort bridge, carry too

:23:39. > :23:45.many thoughts with you and it becomes cumbersome. Focus down or

:23:46. > :24:01.more two mantras and that's all you go with.

:24:02. > :24:22.And again, a fresh shuttle required. They do take a battering. We are

:24:23. > :24:38.onto the 17th now. It is so nip and tuck the whole way

:24:39. > :24:42.here. Over the last two games both teams have only managed runs of two,

:24:43. > :24:48.that's all, in terms of consecutive points won.

:24:49. > :24:58.Spills wide, Christinna Pedersen, and another roar of delight from the

:24:59. > :25:06.British. So it's a 3-point gain. These two fully aware that it's

:25:07. > :25:08.retrievable. You would imagine they would have to start to do it about

:25:09. > :25:30.now. Brilliant from Chris Adcock! So

:25:31. > :25:37.quick to pounce. They are just absolutely fully dialled in on this

:25:38. > :25:42.one now. Gabby beside him quite knees bent with energy, so they can

:25:43. > :25:59.pounce whichever way they need. It's a four point game.

:26:00. > :26:11.Over pressing from Christinna Pedersen.

:26:12. > :26:19.Now, is this an opportunity for a sneaky little flick serve? Or is he

:26:20. > :26:24.going with something more regular? Joel Kindles and Fisher likes to

:26:25. > :26:35.pounce on that short, low delivery -- Joachim Fischer Nielsen likes to

:26:36. > :26:36.pounce. Well, it's a run of four consecutive points now. For the

:26:37. > :26:50.Adcocks. An anxious look from Christinna

:26:51. > :26:57.Pedersen to her strong left-handed partner.

:26:58. > :27:02.Thunderous, he is ever dangerous, isn't he, but respectful at the same

:27:03. > :27:06.time, which is nice to see. It's been a match played in great spirit

:27:07. > :27:08.which is what the Olympic Games is all about. Bringing together

:27:09. > :27:39.different races, cultures. Well, the Brits were 11-8 up at the

:27:40. > :27:42.mid-game interval, but having come out from there haven't they

:27:43. > :27:49.consolidated with effect? Still a long way to go in this one though.

:27:50. > :28:01.But they really have put their front foot forward of late.

:28:02. > :28:10.Well, the Danes have been too errant too often in this game. And the

:28:11. > :28:17.fourth seeds under a lot of pressure now, because the Adcocks are just

:28:18. > :28:20.three points away from the W. They were denied yesterday, having had

:28:21. > :28:30.match point. They couldn't quite a lot crossed the line against the

:28:31. > :28:47.Chinese duo, but Ma and Xu, now in a commanding position.

:28:48. > :28:59.Good energy between these two. Great dynamics. As a positive. It's about

:29:00. > :29:00.heading to the sun metaphorically speaking the whole time, not

:29:01. > :29:14.allowing negatives into your mind. Well, the Danes got lucky there.

:29:15. > :29:15.Now, is that enough to inspire them to haul this one back to level and

:29:16. > :30:15.beyond? And alarmingly for British fans,

:30:16. > :30:22.that is three points in the row for the black clad Games. Well, we knew

:30:23. > :30:27.the fightback would always be on and it is always tougher to hit winners

:30:28. > :30:31.when you are in front. The psychological dynamics kind of

:30:32. > :30:36.reverse as you sense the finish line is so near. Of course, fresh in

:30:37. > :30:39.their mind, the exploits yesterday of the Chinese, wriggling out of

:30:40. > :31:02.jail. So, Chris sneezed and so the point

:31:03. > :31:06.will be replayed indeed. The umpire would not accept that one. That was

:31:07. > :31:19.interesting, I thought for a second they had lost the point. They

:31:20. > :31:28.stopped the run of points for the Danes at three. Now, can they build

:31:29. > :31:33.from here? Two points away. Two points away from the win, the Adcock

:31:34. > :31:47.'s, communication is priority number one, clarity.

:31:48. > :31:56.They just managed to lift above Christina for the first left, but

:31:57. > :32:05.the second one is just going to the tall menace who had his way. It is

:32:06. > :32:14.still a 3-point game, but the Danes have been ever threatening. They

:32:15. > :32:17.managed to twist the second game their way, 24-22. What can they

:32:18. > :32:33.muster here? Brilliant. I cry out from Chris

:32:34. > :33:18.Adcock, and it brings up four match points.

:33:19. > :33:30.Well, they have still got room for manoeuvre. But before they come

:33:31. > :33:39.tension riddled, they want to put this match to bed. Fourth seeds,

:33:40. > :33:56.three points shy here. Three more match points for the Adcock 's. Look

:33:57. > :34:01.at what it means to them. A momentous win in this daunting

:34:02. > :34:06.group. Group three is so laden with four daunting teams. The Adcock 's

:34:07. > :34:10.did they couldn't do yesterday. They missed out on match point yesterday

:34:11. > :34:19.but they have come through today against the fourth seeds and the

:34:20. > :34:22.highest ranked team in the group. Fischer Nielsen and Christinna

:34:23. > :34:23.Pedersen failed in this encounter. You can see what this means to them.

:34:24. > :34:42.Absolute delight! 21-17 in the decider, on their

:34:43. > :34:51.second match point opportunity they put it to bed. Delight for the

:34:52. > :34:59.Adcocks. The Danes denied. The fight goes on in this ever competitive

:35:00. > :35:03.group B. ORE: well, you could see from Chris and Gabby just what it

:35:04. > :35:07.meant to get their first win of this Olympic campaign on the board. It

:35:08. > :35:11.was really a must win game because of the very competitive group, as

:35:12. > :35:15.the competitor or -- commentator was safe.

:35:16. > :35:19.Afterwards they caught up with us. That was an epic match to watch and

:35:20. > :35:24.such an important one to win. Definitely, after coming back -- of

:35:25. > :35:27.the back of a disappointing result yesterday we knew would be crucial

:35:28. > :35:30.to pick ourselves up in the group stages under gives us a good chance

:35:31. > :35:35.of still going through and as long as we keep playing like that we have

:35:36. > :35:39.a great chance. How did you turn things around from yesterday? Was

:35:40. > :35:42.just a case of moving on? It was really hard and obviously we have a

:35:43. > :35:47.match point and it stuck with me for quite a while last night but I had

:35:48. > :35:52.to snap out of it and we had just go and have an important match today.

:35:53. > :35:56.When you get on court it is easy to just be in the moment. We know from

:35:57. > :36:00.performances at the Commonwealth Games and other wins you are right

:36:01. > :36:04.up there with the top in the world but to beat a pair like that really

:36:05. > :36:07.sends out a message today. Definitely, they had the Olympic

:36:08. > :36:11.bronze from last Olympics so we know we are up there on the day and it is

:36:12. > :36:21.just too performs better on the day and luckily today was after we

:36:22. > :36:24.played really well so now it is anyone's going to go through. Poland

:36:25. > :36:26.are up next and it is an amazing atmosphere here. Definitely, it's

:36:27. > :36:30.been a great atmosphere and we have a few home supporters here. We are

:36:31. > :36:33.really enjoying it and that is key. We have enjoyed every minute on

:36:34. > :36:38.court and hopefully we can continue doing that. Congratulations. Thank

:36:39. > :36:48.you. Thank you. Get Inspired is BBC Sport's campaign

:36:49. > :36:51.to help you get active. It is on the website and you can

:36:52. > :36:54.find inspirational stories from people like you,

:36:55. > :36:56.as well as hints, tips and 70 practical guides to help

:36:57. > :36:58.you give something a go. There is an activity finder to help

:36:59. > :37:02.you find something to try near you. You can ask questions

:37:03. > :37:04.through the social media accounts and maybe you can inspire someone

:37:05. > :37:07.else to give something a try. Get up, get inspired,

:37:08. > :37:24.and get active. It is nice to finally be on the

:37:25. > :37:28.drive. It has brightened up here on the Olympic Park and it is warm and

:37:29. > :37:33.humid and nice. We have not moved far away from our position in the

:37:34. > :37:39.shelter. This is TV towers, as we called it. A beautiful green

:37:40. > :37:44.building. On the top there you can seek two burly chaps, from the Great

:37:45. > :37:52.Britain rugby sevens team. Can you see us, guys? There you go! They

:37:53. > :38:03.can't hear me, but well played. Sign language. Medal? Show us your medal!

:38:04. > :38:08.Yes! There we go. It took some pretty bonkers sign language but I

:38:09. > :38:11.think we got the message through. They are enjoying themselves, the

:38:12. > :38:15.rugby sevens players. So many people have been down at the Deodoro and

:38:16. > :38:19.lucky enough to get tickets to watch the rugby sevens competitions and

:38:20. > :38:22.both men and women have had an absolute ball of time and it has

:38:23. > :38:26.been one of the success stories of the Rio 2016 Olympics so far, not

:38:27. > :38:31.least Great Britain. Last night they came away with a silver medal but

:38:32. > :38:33.the team that came away with top honours, Fiji, their first-ever

:38:34. > :38:41.medal at the Olympic Games, last night was quite the night.

:38:42. > :38:49.Brazil! There is no doubt about it rugby sevens has been the hit of

:38:50. > :38:52.this Olympics so far. The Australian women have already won the Olympic

:38:53. > :39:01.title and now the Team GB men are through to the final four. The

:39:02. > :39:07.Deodoro Stadium is ready to rock. Dan Norton gets a boot on it. It has

:39:08. > :39:19.eventually come to Kyle Brown, the opening try of this semifinal. Now

:39:20. > :39:28.then, the speedster. He eases past. The first try for Great Britain.

:39:29. > :39:40.Back on his feet. That went to ground. It is a steal by the

:39:41. > :39:51.redshirts. Samuel Cross! He booted off the park. Great Britain are in

:39:52. > :39:57.the Gold final. They will play Fiji. This is the family of the captain of

:39:58. > :40:02.Great Britain, Tom Mitchell. It was unbelievable. He now has the chance

:40:03. > :40:05.to win Olympic gold. I have nothing to say about other than I could not

:40:06. > :40:11.imagine this happening when we flew here.

:40:12. > :40:15.This is the final of the rugby sevens on the first time the sport

:40:16. > :40:19.has been played in the Olympics and Great Britain are guaranteed a

:40:20. > :40:27.medal. Will it be gold? This not certainly hope so. The captain of

:40:28. > :40:41.Fiji scores the first try. It is going to be all over by

:40:42. > :40:50.half-time. It is a mauling, this is ugly. Try for Dan Norton, Great

:40:51. > :41:00.Britain are on the board. They have something the final!

:41:01. > :41:07.Oh, it has gone forward. This could be... No! It is such a moment in the

:41:08. > :41:12.history of Fiji the rugby team and Fiji the country because this is

:41:13. > :41:20.their first ever medal at the Olympic Games, and it is gold. They

:41:21. > :41:25.have thumped Great Britain by 43-7. What you think is happening back

:41:26. > :41:29.home right now? Everyone will be celebrating a jumping up and down

:41:30. > :41:34.and kissing each other and so passionate because this is what it's

:41:35. > :41:39.all about. To witness the historic moment for the tiny island Fiji,

:41:40. > :41:42.this is for all of the people in Fiji! The atmosphere has been

:41:43. > :41:46.unbelievable all weekend. It is awesome to share our sport with the

:41:47. > :41:50.world. For the followers of rugby sevens, this is what every

:41:51. > :41:53.tournament is like so hopefully sevens will go through the roof now

:41:54. > :41:59.and I am looking forward to the next one in Tokyo. ORE: it was an

:42:00. > :42:04.incredible display of strength, speed and agility. I am talking

:42:05. > :42:08.about the Fiji team! I have seen Kat Downes during the reporting that

:42:09. > :42:12.with a hula and she is a bit of a whip it and she has some skills.

:42:13. > :42:17.Rugby sevens made its Olympic debut here at the Rio 2016 Olympics and

:42:18. > :42:21.also here in Rio for the first time in over 100 years is the golf. We

:42:22. > :42:30.were talking about it this morning so we will bring you up-to-date with

:42:31. > :42:34.the action far. Justin Rose has started day too well

:42:35. > :42:39.with two birdies in the opening nine holes. This one coming at the six.

:42:40. > :42:43.It moves into six under par and he is currently fourth on the

:42:44. > :42:46.leaderboard. Belgian 's Thomas Pieters is doing even better with

:42:47. > :42:53.three successive birdies on the front nine. He has just added

:42:54. > :42:58.another at ten, to move to eight under par. He is in second place

:42:59. > :43:04.just now. The open champion, Henrik Stenson, is also making a charge. He

:43:05. > :43:08.has bagged three birdies, the Swede. He talks about not being quite the

:43:09. > :43:11.superstar the Zlatan Ibrahimovic was but if he had bagged an Olympic gold

:43:12. > :43:14.here that could change things. Marcus Fraser from Australia is the

:43:15. > :43:19.man to catch, the overnight leader has improved his score with two

:43:20. > :43:24.birdies today and he is now ten under. Meanwhile we had a hole in

:43:25. > :43:30.one from Justin Rose yesterday. The shot of the day so far has been this

:43:31. > :43:33.eagle at the third from double Masters champion Bubba Watson. How

:43:34. > :43:38.about that? He hasn't had the greatest tournament so far but this

:43:39. > :43:42.deserves a replay. Go one, Bubba Watson, what are you going to do

:43:43. > :43:48.with this one? Spin it back. Beautifully done from Bubba Watson.

:43:49. > :43:53.He is probably still on cloud nine after that shot. We will now go to

:43:54. > :44:02.live coverage from the men's golf on day two.

:44:03. > :44:14.The second shot up to here. That is a birdie. A little movement here.

:44:15. > :44:19.Justin Rose has had a whole bunch of these parts about this length,

:44:20. > :44:26.between 15 and 25 feet, or for birdie and he hasn't really made any

:44:27. > :44:30.of them. There is another. On another day one or two of those are

:44:31. > :44:35.going in and he is higher up that leaderboard. He has left himself

:44:36. > :44:52.with quite a lot of work to do with birdie putts on this second day.

:44:53. > :44:55.Read for birdie at 16. Solid. Patrick Reed, from the Ryder Cup,

:44:56. > :45:01.finding a bit of form in the closing stages of the second round as well.

:45:02. > :45:07.Patrick Reid is happy with his score. Rickie Fowler has made a

:45:08. > :45:12.couple of good putts today that have stood him in better stead but he is

:45:13. > :45:14.back to five over. It is just not happening for Rickie Fowler. Can he

:45:15. > :45:27.slot this one? No, he can't. Seamus Power is four and, he's on

:45:28. > :45:32.the golf course with four holes to play. Soren Kjeldsen is four and on

:45:33. > :45:35.the golf course. Now Marcus Fraser come a tournament leader at 10-under

:45:36. > :45:58.par. That's perfect. Just taking a look

:45:59. > :46:04.over at the 11th hole. A very narrow fairway for much of the opening

:46:05. > :46:08.part, then an wide area before a slum dog left up, not too much in

:46:09. > :46:13.terms of bunkers, only one to concern with yourself with on the

:46:14. > :46:16.approach shot. The green slopes a little bit back to front, but mostly

:46:17. > :46:54.from right to left. After the birdie at 16, his tee shot

:46:55. > :46:59.at 17. So a few players getting in close K, not playing too long, just

:47:00. > :47:12.over 100 metres and Grillo doesn't disappoint either. Now Sergio

:47:13. > :47:17.Garcia, 17th. He is level par for the tournament. Ten shots back from

:47:18. > :47:20.the leader. Oh, fires in something very special.

:47:21. > :47:30.APPLAUSE That's some impressive golf from all

:47:31. > :47:35.three. He got the pin covered, the hole covered. Completely. Let's have

:47:36. > :47:43.another look at this golf shot from Sergio Garcia. Grillo is on the left

:47:44. > :47:48.of the pin, Reed on the right-hand Sergio Garcia says anything you can

:47:49. > :47:59.do, I can do better. Bubba Watson at seven here. The longer par fours,

:48:00. > :48:05.playing nearly 500 yards. He has launched another Bubba special.

:48:06. > :48:24.That's big, a long way down. Martin Kaymer playing with Bubba

:48:25. > :48:32.Watson and Anirban Lahiri. Back to level par, the German.

:48:33. > :48:39.At one stage yesterday he was 5-under par.

:48:40. > :48:49.That's off the beaten track. This is what got Kaymer in trouble

:48:50. > :48:54.yesterday. Missing fairways. That was on 16. 16 gave him his biggest

:48:55. > :49:00.nightmare. And then 18, on the left there. Here's Patrick Reed, first to

:49:01. > :49:07.go, birdie putts for all of the grouping.

:49:08. > :49:16.Sergio Garcia is tapped in, for his birdie. Patrick Reed to get into

:49:17. > :49:38.green here, to get to 1-under par. Just being upset, something of the

:49:39. > :49:46.gallery, it seems, but Patrick Reed has started the day 1-under par,

:49:47. > :49:55.back to even par for the day. Comes off a birdie at 16.

:49:56. > :50:08.Berates himself for that. Yes, it was another camera opportunity that

:50:09. > :50:14.caused him to reset, pull away and reset.

:50:15. > :50:31.Grillo, an online with birdie. -- with his birdie. Reed with par,

:50:32. > :50:37.Grillo for Argentina to get back to two under.

:50:38. > :50:46.No problems for the Argentine. APPLAUSE

:50:47. > :50:52.Marcus Fraser really hasn't put a foot wrong. Only one bogey on the

:50:53. > :51:01.card yesterday. Nothing going wrong today. Check and -- second shot to

:51:02. > :51:11.11. 212 yards to the pin. For his second shot.

:51:12. > :51:18.Oh, that's a great shot. Magnificent shot from Marcus Fraser. He's laying

:51:19. > :51:25.down markers all over the golf course. How do you catch a guy who

:51:26. > :51:29.is playing like this? This is what the other golfers are going to need

:51:30. > :51:35.to try to consider. Because you can do nothing special to catch up to a

:51:36. > :51:43.guy who was just putting in all the right areas. They'll work out a way.

:51:44. > :51:49.There's a fair few in the field that have chased down some illustrious

:51:50. > :52:06.and revered golfers. Did we hear three iron just Ben

:52:07. > :52:18.Foster ends in? It seems so. -- just then, for Henrik Stenson. Longest of

:52:19. > :52:25.the par threes, playing over 200 metres. 14th hole, Stenson. Middle

:52:26. > :52:33.of the green. The same putt that Justin Rose had, the same putt.

:52:34. > :52:37.Marcus Fraser is tantalisingly close with his birdie opportunity on 11.

:52:38. > :52:53.This is Kaymer. Horrible stuff to get out of, but

:52:54. > :52:57.he's done well. The gallery is growing. Wanting to see Martin

:52:58. > :53:06.Kaymer, their draw cards. Of course, the weather aiding the visitors to

:53:07. > :53:16.the golf course at the moment. Lingmerth, four under.

:53:17. > :53:52.He has leaked it out right. Yes, bunker for Justin Rose. Just about

:53:53. > :53:58.pin hi. So it's Marcus Fraser who continues to lead the men's

:53:59. > :54:21.individual stroke play at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

:54:22. > :54:28.Now Bubba has done a few things today which suggests that he has the

:54:29. > :54:44.bit between his teeth. He would like to get something going here.

:54:45. > :54:58.Made the eagle on three, birdie on five.

:54:59. > :55:07.Plenty of club again forced it's going to lead the way just a little.

:55:08. > :55:11.I was so worried about the camera guy, every time you talk to him...

:55:12. > :55:16.Well, it's been a bit of a problem today, everyone wants to get a

:55:17. > :55:21.picture of the stars, so it's playing on his mind, Bubba. Let's

:55:22. > :55:27.move onto David Lingmerth, this to get to 5-under par. Birdie on nine,

:55:28. > :55:32.birdie chance for Lingmerth of Sweden, and he goes to 5-under par.

:55:33. > :55:38.APPLAUSE Out in 32, what a start to his

:55:39. > :55:46.second day, birdies on one, two and three, and a bogey on seven. Justin

:55:47. > :55:49.Rose getting the ball out nicely on 15. That's a very good shot from the

:55:50. > :55:56.Englishman. He had to dig deep to get this one

:55:57. > :56:27.out. The ball was well down. -- Thorbjorn Olesen. A brilliant

:56:28. > :56:34.shot. He has gone inside Garcia's ball. It's one of those where you

:56:35. > :56:43.go, how did it miss the stick? Two over par. Just on the fringe 11,

:56:44. > :56:46.it's looking good, and holds its line, so he pulled one back, he goes

:56:47. > :57:08.to 1-over for the Championship. Katayama has a birdie putt here. He

:57:09. > :57:17.can't find, that will be a double bogey for Katayama.

:57:18. > :57:27.Marcus Fraser after that wonderful shot on 11 can get to 11-under par,

:57:28. > :57:31.stretch his lead to four. Even by his lofty standards over the last

:57:32. > :57:38.day and a half, that approach shot here on 11 was just outstanding. As

:57:39. > :57:45.good as it has been for Marcus Fraser.

:57:46. > :57:55.Probably a putt four feet. Maybe five. Birdie putt for the tournament

:57:56. > :58:01.leader to stretch his lead, and he does that, so Marcus Fraser of

:58:02. > :58:11.Australia at 11-under par leads by four.

:58:12. > :58:21.So Henrik Stenson now at 14, clubbed it up to pin hi, but only the middle

:58:22. > :58:30.of the green, a little left, flag on the far right. Stenson has a long

:58:31. > :58:42.birdie chance. Left well short, Henrik Stenson.

:58:43. > :59:09.Rose, for par. Justin Rose gives one back out of 15. Bubba Watson. Flag

:59:10. > :59:31.out, confident. Just didn't hit it. Oh, Bubba

:59:32. > :59:43.India's Anirban Lahiri on the seventh, could do with some fortune

:59:44. > :59:47.coming his way. 2015 Asian Cup Tour Order of Merit winner, the highest

:59:48. > :59:53.finish in a major Championship when he finished tied for fifth at the US

:59:54. > :59:57.PGA last year, highest by an Indian player, that is.

:59:58. > :00:07.Following in the footsteps of players before him, Anirban Lahiri.

:00:08. > :00:25.A putt for birdie on seven. It doesn't move, it doesn't move at

:00:26. > :00:30.all. He was in the international team in the Presidents cup in South

:00:31. > :00:32.Korea last season. Marcus Fraser of the tournament leader and on the

:00:33. > :00:56.12th, 11 under par. And he's found the sand. The 12th

:00:57. > :01:04.hole is 509 and 11 yards, 467 metres. It is another test and a

:01:05. > :01:12.pretty long hole. There is a doglegs right and nothing much in the way of

:01:13. > :01:19.sand to protect the green. Not much in the way of birdies here on 12

:01:20. > :01:27.either way. Henrik Stenson needs this to stay 7-under par on the

:01:28. > :01:32.14th. That is amiss on the low side of the hole. I can't believe it's

:01:33. > :01:44.missed. A bogey on 14th Henrik Stenson. On 17, Alex Dzeko for

:01:45. > :01:55.birdie. He has made a couple of these, a good-looking role as well.

:01:56. > :02:03.Unkind. -- Alex Cejka. All golf balls are unkind. That's not true.

:02:04. > :02:11.Seamus Power is having a wonderful day on the golf course. He is

:02:12. > :02:21.indeed. He is 3-under par. It is a driveable par-4. Seamus Power makes

:02:22. > :02:28.it an eagle at 16. Four birdies and an eagle on his 2nd round card, just

:02:29. > :02:33.that bogey coming on 15. Yes, a splendid rant from Seamus Power. The

:02:34. > :02:39.drop shot at 15, but what a way to get it back, with an eagle at 16.

:02:40. > :02:50.Following on from another eagle at 16 earlier.

:02:51. > :02:57.This is Felipe Aguilar at the 10th hole. He is confident of a birdie.

:02:58. > :03:01.The land it up nicely. What we have seen today, is the early morning

:03:02. > :03:04.rain, as nasty as it looked, has softened up the greens and make them

:03:05. > :03:08.more receptive and the players have really gone for these pins and

:03:09. > :03:17.Henrik Stenson will be doing the same here. That is a blow for

:03:18. > :03:19.Stenson. He has dropped back to 6-under par, level with Gregory

:03:20. > :03:31.Bourdy who is in the clubhouse now. So, the 15th, Henrik Stenson. He is

:03:32. > :03:48.going with a long iron here. That is fine. The middle of the

:03:49. > :04:12.fairway for the Swede. The middle of the 10th green. This

:04:13. > :04:24.is Danny Chia from Malaysia for birdie. Well done. Level par. Sergio

:04:25. > :04:29.Garcia, in the front of the green here on 18. It was an eagle

:04:30. > :04:40.yesterday to finishes day, and it was close again. That has run past

:04:41. > :04:47.by about 7 or 8 feet. Opportunities coming and going for the Spaniard. 1

:04:48. > :04:57.of the hottest golfers on the course, back on the 17th tee, is

:04:58. > :04:58.Ireland 's Seamus Power. He has just eagled the 16th, coming off a bogey

:04:59. > :05:26.on 15. Padraig Harrington, his Irish fellow

:05:27. > :05:32.countryman is 1-over for the day, 2 birdies and 3 bogeys. Danny Willett,

:05:33. > :05:37.after two birdies to open his 2nd round has now got 3 bogeys on the

:05:38. > :05:49.card and he is 1-over par, Danny Willett of Great Britain. But this

:05:50. > :05:56.is Seamus Power. Well, not as close as some. By some distance. But he

:05:57. > :05:59.has had a very good day on the golf course today. The man from

:06:00. > :06:16.Waterford. This is Lin Wen-tang from Chinese

:06:17. > :06:25.take P -- Chinese Taipei. The 2009 Chinese open champion. That has had

:06:26. > :06:36.a hop and a skip and it is not going to come back from there. Just go

:06:37. > :06:54.back to 16, Justin Rose. It looks like 3-wood.

:06:55. > :07:05.Two eagles we have had on 16. Seamus Power and the Portuguese golfer.

:07:06. > :07:21.Gregory Bourdy is in the clubhouse with a 69. This is Henrik Stenson.

:07:22. > :07:54.The wind really is negligible. Well, they are waiting for Thongchai

:07:55. > :07:59.Jaidee to play his 3rd shot. A little bit of trouble for Thongchai

:08:00. > :08:08.Jaidee on 15. He is having a tough day at the office here and that

:08:09. > :08:12.rolls back down the fairway. The number of holes on this golf course,

:08:13. > :08:16.the greens have run-off areas, so now Henrik Stenson knows the club

:08:17. > :08:28.and he is going to pull the trigger here on 15.

:08:29. > :08:39.5 consecutive pars for Stenson, he would love to make more birdie runs

:08:40. > :08:44.as he had at the start of the round. The 2nd of 15 -- the 2nd at 15,

:08:45. > :09:01.Henrik Stenson. Oh, wonderful shot from the Swede.

:09:02. > :09:12.He had some time to ponder the shot, but that was magnificent. The 12th

:09:13. > :09:20.hole, this is Marcus Fraser. 245 yards to the pin, and he's nicely

:09:21. > :09:30.out of there. There wasn't much by way of a lip. Did he get down? Yes,

:09:31. > :09:37.but he's still short. Still work to do on 12. Rafael Cabrera-Bello is at

:09:38. > :09:41.15 alongside is Henrik Stenson and this is his 2nd. Can he trouble off

:09:42. > :09:44.the tee in trouble with the follow-up is his 2nd. Can he trouble

:09:45. > :09:59.off the tee in trouble with the follow-up as well?

:10:00. > :10:13.Oh, it just stayed. He placed out to the right. Now, 18. Patrick Reed for

:10:14. > :10:17.birdie, to finish up. Oh, solidly done by Patrick Reed. It finishes

:10:18. > :10:24.with a birdie at 18 and goes to two under par for the day and 1-under

:10:25. > :10:32.par for the Championship, so a good finish from Patrick Reed. Fraser is

:10:33. > :10:39.3rd to 12th. He has got to work. Not bad. It is about 10 feet, 9 or 10

:10:40. > :10:46.feet, for his part. That is going to be a tester.

:10:47. > :11:00.He found the sand with his tee shot. Justin Rose at 16, his 2nd shot.

:11:01. > :11:06.Par-4. Very close, just short of the green, and rolls it up into a very

:11:07. > :11:20.good position to claim back a birdie. Here is go Bears, the

:11:21. > :11:36.Argentine, Fabian Gomez, at 10, his 3rd. That will do. That will do.

:11:37. > :11:43.Fabian Gomez, that was a special play. Using the contours there

:11:44. > :11:48.brilliantly. Danny Willett, 2nd to the night.

:11:49. > :11:55.Wonderful. Very nice. He began his 2nd round with birdies on 1 and 2

:11:56. > :12:04.but there has been 3 bogeys since. Seamus Power is a long way from the

:12:05. > :12:17.hole here on 17 on this very short par-3. It has given that plenty. He

:12:18. > :12:24.has just made an eagle on 16. Bubba Watson has a 6 footer here for his

:12:25. > :12:35.part on the par-3 8th. To stay 1-under. Didn't like it. Not at all,

:12:36. > :12:46.he was up out of that straightaway. So, shot gone therefore Bubba

:12:47. > :12:52.Watson. His fellow American, Rickie Fowler, on 16, his 2nd. Still at

:12:53. > :13:06.5-over for the tournament. Looking good. How about rolling in? No. But

:13:07. > :13:09.that will be a birdie. Well, there is a chance here with only 1 bogey

:13:10. > :13:23.on the card yesterday for Marcus Fraser. Here on 12, this is for par.

:13:24. > :13:26.It has been absolutely solid. Showing a very calm disposition on

:13:27. > :13:40.the golf course. He is 11-under, Thomas Pieters

:13:41. > :13:44.Belgium is 7-under par and Gregory Bourdy, in the clubhouse at 6-under

:13:45. > :13:55.with Henrik Stenson, out on the golf course.

:13:56. > :14:09.Marcus Fraser, par putt on 12. Never there. Never online. So, that is a

:14:10. > :14:19.shot dropped and he is back at 10-under par. He is still the leader

:14:20. > :14:24.by 3. ORE: they never like dropping shots, golfers, but Marcus Fraser

:14:25. > :14:27.still has a 3 shot lead at the top of the board. This coverage will

:14:28. > :14:32.continue over on the website on the Red Button as well, as Britain 's

:14:33. > :14:40.Justin Rose gets ready to take his shot on the green. There is more

:14:41. > :14:44.Brits in action here in Baja, on the coast of Rio de Janeiro, because

:14:45. > :14:49.Great Britain 's number 1 in the tennis is going, not quite that

:14:50. > :14:52.stadium, he's actually on Court Number Two against Steve Johnson,

:14:53. > :14:57.which is a little more to the left, as you look at it. Andy Murray

:14:58. > :15:02.hasn't really been travelled so far in this tournament. Any 3 Games he

:15:03. > :15:08.has only dropped 1 set so far and here he is a quarterfinal the

:15:09. > :15:13.American Steve Johnson. A 5- 0 up in the 1st set. It is going Andy Murray

:15:14. > :15:19.'s way. The reigning champion is closing in on what would be a

:15:20. > :15:23.fantastic 2nd Olympic title. A couple of matches to go, not least

:15:24. > :15:26.set here in the quarterfinal against Steve Johnson. We will be joining

:15:27. > :15:31.that in about half an hour's time. Murray might have wrapped it up by

:15:32. > :15:34.then but that is there on BBC sport website and the Red Button as well

:15:35. > :15:40.if you want to all the action for Andy Murray.

:15:41. > :15:49.Shall we take a quick picture? Let's meet this guy. As quick as you can,

:15:50. > :15:57.thank you. Oh! Locate, shall we show the current? No? OK, that's fine,

:15:58. > :16:02.thank you very much. Communication breakdown. Let's go quickly while

:16:03. > :16:06.he's not noticing! Thank you, made, take care, goodbye. From the tennis

:16:07. > :16:10.and that rather awkward moment, we're seriously, live on BBC Four,

:16:11. > :16:12.you wouldn't expect that, maybe you would, we're going to go to the

:16:13. > :16:17.Aquatics Centre now because it's time to check in on the swimming,

:16:18. > :16:21.more medals could be won at this evening for Great Britain and Helen,

:16:22. > :16:25.you are going to feature one of Great Britain's loveliest members of

:16:26. > :16:32.the team. They are all lovely, but Fran Halsall is a treat. Ewan-macro

:16:33. > :16:36.she is a treat. I think you have had your awkward moment! Fran Halsall is

:16:37. > :16:40.a lovely lady, hoping to become the fastest woman on the planet in the

:16:41. > :16:43.pool and she goes in the heat this afternoon. Here is a bit more about

:16:44. > :16:48.France. And London was a difficult

:16:49. > :16:52.experience in the fact that I wanted to swim well, I put my heart, soul,

:16:53. > :16:57.everything into swimming as fast as I could and on the day I didn't get

:16:58. > :17:02.the result that I wanted, that I'd spent four years working for. Amat

:17:03. > :17:07.Hayter-macro oh dear me, 91 hundredths of a second. Had to make

:17:08. > :17:11.a decision, what are you going to do about it, do you want to carry on

:17:12. > :17:14.swimming? Yes. You have to get on with it and put it to the back of

:17:15. > :17:18.your mind. You can't hold onto emotions like that for three years,

:17:19. > :17:21.otherwise it will drive you insane. I have taken everything I from that

:17:22. > :17:29.experience and put it to good use this time. What would an Olympic

:17:30. > :17:34.medal mean to you? You have won worlds, European,, while honours?

:17:35. > :17:41.For me it would put to bed what happened in London, it would be I

:17:42. > :17:45.want to do it, I feel like I can do it, it would mean I was right, I can

:17:46. > :17:48.do that. It's anyone's dream as an athlete and if they say it's not

:17:49. > :17:54.they may be lying about it, I think! I'd love to stand on the podium,

:17:55. > :17:58.that's what I race to do. I race to get medals want to win big

:17:59. > :18:01.competitions. When you stand there in the line-up and there is eight of

:18:02. > :18:07.you and any one of eight goals can make the final in Rio and could make

:18:08. > :18:11.the final, it's the way it is, getting into the final, being

:18:12. > :18:15.against those goals, I've done it before, I've beaten these goals

:18:16. > :18:20.before, I know what I'm doing, it's me swimming my race and enjoying it.

:18:21. > :18:24.Do you think this will be your last Games? No, I'm enjoying swimming!

:18:25. > :18:29.The more you enjoy it, the more you want to do it. Olympic cycles are

:18:30. > :18:32.four years long but from the last Olympics to this Olympics has gone

:18:33. > :18:36.so quickly that doing another one doesn't seem like it that long a

:18:37. > :18:42.time. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older that time seems

:18:43. > :18:46.shorter now, or what, but Tokyo, I'll be 30. If I'm still enjoying

:18:47. > :18:51.what I'm doing and I'm in a good place for sport and doing what I

:18:52. > :18:54.love and a great environment I think I could do another four years. Fran

:18:55. > :18:59.Halsall talking to Nick Hope there, Becky Adlington, four time Olympic

:19:00. > :19:04.medallist and Mark Foster, five-time Olympian. It's easy to make the

:19:05. > :19:09.comparison with London but Fran Halsall has had a good four years?

:19:10. > :19:13.Fran is happy and it's not very often you can say that about Fran,

:19:14. > :19:16.not in a negative way but as in she's not enjoy the sport, that's

:19:17. > :19:22.what I mean. She's not really, really loved it and wanted to be

:19:23. > :19:26.there. She sought a little bit too much in the past three years -- she

:19:27. > :19:30.has sought a bit too much, and in the past three years has thought why

:19:31. > :19:34.not enjoy it and enjoy what I do and it has paid off. She was our only

:19:35. > :19:38.medallist in 2013 at the World Championships. She is smiling, she

:19:39. > :19:42.is happy, she is enjoying life, she has a new boyfriend, she is on top

:19:43. > :19:50.of the world and it makes a difference. A happy swimmer is a

:19:51. > :19:53.good swimmer, four front. Do you agree? Ukip the nail on the head,

:19:54. > :19:59.she's in a happy place that home. If swimming is your only thing in life

:20:00. > :20:03.you need a distraction, she has that now, James Gibson has been looking

:20:04. > :20:06.after her for four years and she has the consistency there, done more

:20:07. > :20:11.conditioning work and she seems to be flying. If she does her best time

:20:12. > :20:18.she could win it but there will be, as she mentioned, six out of ten of

:20:19. > :20:22.the top swimmers in this race and the one that won last night, it will

:20:23. > :20:27.be tight. Hopefully she has the monkey off her back and she can let

:20:28. > :20:30.it happen. I saw her at the Europeans in May and I thought she

:20:31. > :20:35.looked in good form, she could do something in Rio, I thought? Mark

:20:36. > :20:41.Arthur spoken a lot about Swinburne -- sprinters just doing the 50

:20:42. > :20:45.metres, didn't do well in the 100 metres but has had a great 50. Fran

:20:46. > :20:50.stepped away from it after London and said I wanted to enjoy the

:20:51. > :20:53.sport, I want to be a 50 metres freestyle swimmer, I will put all my

:20:54. > :20:58.eggs in one basket and that's what she's enjoying and it's working for

:20:59. > :21:02.her, doesn't try to stretch yourself too thin and really concentrates on

:21:03. > :21:06.it, like Ben Proud has been doing. There has always been this pressure

:21:07. > :21:12.she needs to do the 100 metres and it's like why, why not let be happy

:21:13. > :21:17.and do what she does. She does it so well. That's people like me putting

:21:18. > :21:22.the pressure on her. Sprinting has become so specific, Usain Bolt does

:21:23. > :21:28.the 100 and 200, he wouldn't do the 200 and 400, they're completely

:21:29. > :21:32.different energy systems. A 50 swimmer now specialises in the 50.

:21:33. > :21:36.The Olympic champion and world champion and will probably win

:21:37. > :21:41.tonight, he just does 50, he can do a good 100 but doesn't make the

:21:42. > :21:45.final. He focuses on the 50. That's what she has done. We have talked

:21:46. > :21:51.about how fast some of the girls are, we talked about the Campbell

:21:52. > :21:55.sisters yesterday, we expected to see them both on the podium. We

:21:56. > :22:02.jinxed them. Neither of them made it. It was the Williams sisters!

:22:03. > :22:07.Keita Balde either come in and put it right from last night, or she

:22:08. > :22:12.will come in and be flat and not produce that much -- Kate will

:22:13. > :22:13.either come in. Lets join heat eight of the women's 50 metres which is

:22:14. > :22:36.starting. Already we have seen 27, it may make

:22:37. > :22:40.the semi. Is. -- that may make the summit. It has got quite serious,

:22:41. > :22:49.the swimmers suddenly gone from 27s and 28s as their seeded time,

:22:50. > :22:56.straight into the 25 lows. Quite a few 50-metre butterfly and freestyle

:22:57. > :23:00.swimmers at the World Championships, they have the 50 butterfly

:23:01. > :23:05.breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle, here at the Olympics only

:23:06. > :23:08.the 53. I'm not sure why. Is a breaststroke and I think it's

:23:09. > :23:14.totally unfair will stop the freestyle is get the whole range.

:23:15. > :23:18.But as you say, a lot of the 50 fly specialists choosing to do this one

:23:19. > :23:19.and ramp up and take the two events so they can do this wannabe limpet

:23:20. > :23:32.games. Fran is very good at both. So heat eight of the women's 50

:23:33. > :23:37.metres freestyle. They are starting to get quicker. A good start from

:23:38. > :23:45.the pole in -- from the Pole inlay number five. Going close to as is

:23:46. > :23:49.Garcia, she's going really well, Vanessa Garcia, from Puerto Rico.

:23:50. > :23:56.She's going to take it in the outside lane, 24.9. Wow. If these

:23:57. > :24:00.last three heats are a little bit slower, that's got an outside chance

:24:01. > :24:11.of making this, I don't think it will, but certainly a 24 .9, with

:24:12. > :24:14.nine, 11, that is four heats to go, that is quick. The Puerto Rican

:24:15. > :24:18.national champion. You have the second string sink swimmers for the

:24:19. > :24:24.European nations soap the French woman that came second is a second

:24:25. > :24:32.string swimmer, her compatriot will be coming up in heat ten. The Poland

:24:33. > :24:38.and Italians all have other swimmers in the latter heats. Japan is coming

:24:39. > :24:42.later. The poetry can come a brilliant job from late eight, --

:24:43. > :24:48.from Puerto Rico. It has taken a while to get under 25, we thought it

:24:49. > :24:53.might happen earlier. Look what it means to them, very

:24:54. > :25:02.good indeed. Garcia winning heat eight, Henique second. They have to

:25:03. > :25:04.be looking at about 24.7 or 24.6, something like that, and the

:25:05. > :25:15.distance and coming up now, heat nine of 12.

:25:16. > :25:24.Farida Osman was a World Championship finalist in the flight,

:25:25. > :25:27.a semifinalist here in the 100. It's quite a common thing to do, the real

:25:28. > :25:30.serious proper sprinters. Are you telling me that is what you did? You

:25:31. > :25:37.are hoping my memory is good enough to remember that you were brilliant

:25:38. > :25:47.at both? I wasn't that hopeful! It's getting worse as I get older! We

:25:48. > :25:55.have Inge Dekker in lane seven, it's her birthday next week. Asking for

:25:56. > :26:04.24.5 to make the semis, the top ten in the world this year coming into

:26:05. > :26:14.the Olympics, tense was 24.47, so actually 24.47. I'm going to guess

:26:15. > :26:18.about 7.5. -- 24.7 five. Quite a few in the last unseeded heats could do

:26:19. > :26:24.it. The Dutch are not having the best meets here so far and Inge

:26:25. > :26:30.Dekker in lane seven, one lane from the right-hand side, having a decent

:26:31. > :26:36.start. Possibly the best starting five, from Poland. At the moment it

:26:37. > :26:42.is Inge Dekker in seven, she has been an Olympic champion in the

:26:43. > :26:50.women's 4x100 relay a few times. Is she going to get 24.7? She is, 24.7

:26:51. > :26:55.seven. Is going to be interesting, it's going to be very, very close

:26:56. > :27:00.indeed now. There is three big heats to go, the fastest 24 women in the

:27:01. > :27:07.world in water are in the next three heats. Already looking at a 24.7.

:27:08. > :27:12.The African record for the Egyptian in second, Farida Osman, so the

:27:13. > :27:15.flight three sprint double working well for her. New African record,

:27:16. > :27:27.very good. Farida Osman in four, you can't tell

:27:28. > :27:32.too much from that. You can't tell much from that either. I think the

:27:33. > :27:35.speed of these women slightly foxing the cameramen at the moment here at

:27:36. > :27:41.the Olympic Games. There is Inge Dekker, she wins in 24.77. Now she's

:27:42. > :27:45.going to have to wait to see if that is fast enough. So the last of the

:27:46. > :27:53.unseeded heats won by Inge Dekker of the Netherlands, 24.7, a new African

:27:54. > :27:57.record for Farida Osman in second. You might tell from the sound behind

:27:58. > :28:08.as the Brazilian team have a swimmer in the next heat. She will be in

:28:09. > :28:12.lane one. There she is, Graciele Herrmann. It's a good atmosphere. It

:28:13. > :28:17.only feels like it is about one third to one half full, there are

:28:18. > :28:21.15,500 seats here but I'd be slightly surprised if there is more

:28:22. > :28:25.than 7000 or 8000 in here, but they know how to make a noise when there

:28:26. > :28:31.is Brazilian is. Graciele Herrmann in lane one, in the green suit of

:28:32. > :28:39.Brazil. Not quite sure why we don't have locks on the suits, like the

:28:40. > :28:43.full suit made out of a flag -- we should have flags on the suits. Like

:28:44. > :28:48.the full Union Jack for the women's swimming suit, they are all Blacks,

:28:49. > :29:02.look at that. It's a good idea, a fine idea. The second fastest in the

:29:03. > :29:09.world this year, 24.07, in lane four Kromowidjojo. They are going to have

:29:10. > :29:15.to get on it, there's no hanging around for this heat because anybody

:29:16. > :29:22.could make it in. It's a very fast heat, gold and silver from London

:29:23. > :29:33.2012. Gold to Kromowidjojo in four and the Belarussian, the 30-year-old

:29:34. > :29:40.six, Herasimenia. Canada are having a good meet as well.

:29:41. > :29:45.The first of unseeded heats of the women's 50 metres freestyle, the

:29:46. > :29:50.defending Olympic champion Kromowidjojo of the Netherlands

:29:51. > :29:57.first up and going well in four, as is USA and five. The blackout of the

:29:58. > :30:03.Netherlands in four, looks like the American in five are coming through,

:30:04. > :30:18.the silver-medallist London 2012 in six, so close, Herasimenia WinZip,

:30:19. > :30:24.then Weitzeil. Really, really close. Some good swimming there, trying not

:30:25. > :30:28.to show you are out of breath! That was a big effort. Great start in the

:30:29. > :30:33.middle of your pool here, like, click, underwater, using a

:30:34. > :30:37.brilliantly, just about 13 metres from Kromowidjojo. Managed to hang

:30:38. > :30:42.in for third, it starts to be a bit of a bash at this point. Herasimenia

:30:43. > :30:46.coming through at this point, not breathing, just breathing monster

:30:47. > :30:52.the right there. Then held it. All the way to the end, to there. I

:30:53. > :30:56.thought that Weitzeil got the touch there but she was touched out by 61

:30:57. > :31:01.hundredths of a second, the white hat of the USA. It was the

:31:02. > :31:06.Belarussian winner. So the first of unseeded heats, the fastest was

:31:07. > :31:09.reasonably quick but it surprisingly fast, Herasimenia winning it, a tie

:31:10. > :31:22.for third. What is going to happen here?

:31:23. > :31:28.Finally Fran Halsall gets a swim and she has had to wait 37 days of

:31:29. > :31:33.swimming. She was 5th in London. She should certainly make it through to

:31:34. > :31:42.the semi, but what will happen here? Cate Campbell. Cate Campbell was

:31:43. > :31:51.very disappointing last night. With the USA kit right behind her is

:31:52. > :31:57.Simone Manuel, a gold medallist. Fran Halsall busy wants to feel the

:31:58. > :32:02.water. She has tucked the band underneath her 2nd hat and all

:32:03. > :32:05.swimmers have routines and ways they do things. Simone Manuel is just

:32:06. > :32:11.jumping up and down behind the block and hasn't got onto the podium yet.

:32:12. > :32:18.They are all facing towards, away from the start. It is interesting,

:32:19. > :32:24.all except 1 or 2. Look at that, a bizarre way to face left or right.

:32:25. > :32:27.This is an enormous quality field. The new Olympic champion in lane 3,

:32:28. > :32:33.the 1st black woman to ever win a Gold Medal in the swimming pool. Her

:32:34. > :32:35.2nd half of how a race -- race yesterday was very quick and

:32:36. > :32:42.everyone was betting on Cate Campbell to win and she was 4.

:32:43. > :32:49.Actually she wasn't even forth, she was 6. She was terrible. A good

:32:50. > :32:53.start in 7. Jeanette Ottesen is probably got the best start, right

:32:54. > :32:58.next to Fran Halsall. Fran Halsall has had a good 30 metres indeed and

:32:59. > :33:05.starting to swim away. She is swimming away in line 5. This is a

:33:06. > :33:11.very good indeed. An excellent job from Fran Halsall, 24.20 6. That is

:33:12. > :33:20.enormously encouraging. She has had to wait so long for it. It is not

:33:21. > :33:25.easy to do so. -- 24.2 6. Well done, Fran. That was a great swim. She

:33:26. > :33:29.started to come away at the end and she has been working with James

:33:30. > :33:32.Gibson, a sprint specialist coach and a former world champion himself,

:33:33. > :33:37.up in Loughborough. They have been working on a 4-year plan that

:33:38. > :33:44.concludes here. That was a brilliant showing in the heats. She talks

:33:45. > :33:51.about needing perfection on every little bit and she did close to a

:33:52. > :33:56.perfect race there. Her British record means she has dipped under 24

:33:57. > :34:01.before and the smiles at the end from her and Jeanette Ottesen. She

:34:02. > :34:06.is a very confident swimmer and that will do her a wonderful world of

:34:07. > :34:10.good. At this level for her to get in a win in the heats will really

:34:11. > :34:21.boost her for this evening and Campbell was a very disappointing

:34:22. > :34:26.3rd. That was the fastest semi. The final heat of the women's 50 metres

:34:27. > :34:33.freestyle and Bronte Campbell, the world champion on this 50 metres

:34:34. > :34:38.freestyle goes in lane 4. Sarah Sjostrom in 5. She has already won

:34:39. > :34:46.gold in the women's 100 metres butterfly and the world record.

:34:47. > :34:50.Silver and bronze on the 100 free. She had a stinker in London but it

:34:51. > :34:54.is good to have her back. I love to watch the faces and see how they are

:34:55. > :34:58.concentrating. It was interesting in the ready room yesterday before the

:34:59. > :35:02.finals, we saw a shot of the corner room and Bronte Campbell and her

:35:03. > :35:07.sister were larking around and having fun. I was thinking they

:35:08. > :35:18.should concentrate. A bit more serious today. It has to be. It was

:35:19. > :35:21.such a huge disappointment. Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace is fast, really

:35:22. > :35:30.strong. A finalist at the London Olympic Games.

:35:31. > :35:34.So, the final heat of the women's 50 metres freestyle with a world

:35:35. > :35:38.champion in 4th, Australia in the yellow hat, is Bronte Campbell and

:35:39. > :35:42.next to her, closer to us in the other yellow hat is Sarah Sjostrom,

:35:43. > :35:49.the world record holder on the 50 metres butterfly. But going well in

:35:50. > :35:53.7 is Dorothea Brandt of Germany. I think Pernille Blume is going to win

:35:54. > :35:59.this, she gets the touch quite comfortably. That is very quick

:36:00. > :36:06.indeed. That must be her lifetime best, I'm sure. She entered with

:36:07. > :36:09.24.4 but went 24.2. A big surprise. Absolutely. She was betting that the

:36:10. > :36:13.World Championships last year and she didn't even race at the

:36:14. > :36:18.Europeans in May so a great surprise, I would suggest, for most

:36:19. > :36:28.of the field here. Bronte Campbell, where did she come in the end? She

:36:29. > :36:32.did well, 2445, I think she was 2nd. Sarah Sjostrom here on the top left

:36:33. > :36:36.of her shot is quite flattered not really rotating and grabbing that

:36:37. > :36:41.extra legs on each arm stroke. I'm surprised with that. It suggests she

:36:42. > :36:47.could swim better, or at least differently on that reach out more.

:36:48. > :36:54.A really nice smile there from Pernille Blume in lane 6.

:36:55. > :37:01.So, the result of the final heat of the women's 50 metres freestyle has

:37:02. > :37:04.Pernille Blume winning it and then Bronte Campbell and Sarah Sjostrom

:37:05. > :37:09.and I think they will make it through. 24.7 is tight but they may

:37:10. > :37:15.just make it. Let us look at the qualifiers. Fran Halsall is 2nd

:37:16. > :37:20.fastest into the semifinals this evening, that is very good indeed

:37:21. > :37:23.from her. Pernille Blume is the surprise fastest qualifier but the

:37:24. > :37:33.big guns are in there with both of the Campbell sisters.

:37:34. > :37:39.Fran, that looked incredible. It has been a long wait and great week to

:37:40. > :37:43.watch. It is day 1 for me, Sharon! I came in a bit later than everyone

:37:44. > :37:46.else so I have only been here for me, Sharon! I came in a bit later

:37:47. > :37:49.than everyone else so I have only been here four days and I haven't

:37:50. > :37:53.had the chance to get stale in the environment or get too excited or

:37:54. > :38:00.happy with how I started. It was my best time this year and I have got

:38:01. > :38:04.relaxed and I will give it more relax -- aggression tonight but I'm

:38:05. > :38:07.happy with that. It is a good start. We were chatting about how much

:38:08. > :38:12.happier you seem in yourself and the opportunity to just concentrate on

:38:13. > :38:15.the 50th made it more fun for you. Yes, I had great preparation this

:38:16. > :38:20.year. I'm standing behind the blocks knowing that I have done everything

:38:21. > :38:22.I can this season. I have been on top of everything injury wise and

:38:23. > :38:26.illness wise and had the best running I could have. It is head

:38:27. > :38:29.Games now because it's the Olympics and if you think about the

:38:30. > :38:33.environment and what it is and get caught up with that it is hard to

:38:34. > :38:36.take. I have raced all these girls before and in this environment

:38:37. > :38:43.before so it should be 2nd nature to me now. You are a serious old hand

:38:44. > :38:46.in the nicest possible way! Cate Campbell, people were expecting to

:38:47. > :38:49.do well last night and it didn't happen so this is the Olympics and a

:38:50. > :38:55.level playing field. Some surprise swims. We didn't expect the Canadian

:38:56. > :39:01.to go so quick. It is, but I know that things like that will happen.

:39:02. > :39:06.You just can't expect -- let it faze you. The virtual meet before the

:39:07. > :39:10.Olympics is just ridiculous, I don't look at anything into that. I need

:39:11. > :39:13.to pick in the summer so whatever happens in season is in season and

:39:14. > :39:18.it is what it is and you don't win medals there. I'm happy with how I'm

:39:19. > :39:21.going and last night was a very interesting race but I do my

:39:22. > :39:24.processes and make sure I'm doing it right and when it comes to tomorrow

:39:25. > :39:28.night I will get my hand on the war 1st. We will see you tonight 1st but

:39:29. > :39:32.I don't think it will be a problem based on that.

:39:33. > :39:35.Well done. It is interesting because we have been talking all week about

:39:36. > :39:40.how the younger members of the team like Chloe Tutton will be buzzing

:39:41. > :39:44.off the team environment at Fran has taken a different approach. How

:39:45. > :39:48.common is that? It is so hard when you are not tapering as well as

:39:49. > :39:53.everyone else because you are a week after everyone else. Adam Peaty 's

:39:54. > :39:57.race was so long ago now and you do get caught up. These are her best

:39:58. > :40:01.mates and people don't appreciate how much emotion it takes out of you

:40:02. > :40:05.just cheering and getting worked up and being disappointed and going on

:40:06. > :40:08.high and you go through all these emotions as a team-mate and as a

:40:09. > :40:11.family member and it is so exhausting so for Fran to take

:40:12. > :40:15.yourself out of that state holding camp with all the other athletes who

:40:16. > :40:32.are still in the same place where she is and I think she made a great

:40:33. > :40:36.decision to that, not just because she swam well but because it is a

:40:37. > :40:39.better environment for Brown. I am really excited for her. It is a good

:40:40. > :40:42.call, historically we would always coming together and I was 1 of those

:40:43. > :40:45.on the last day so I would have to wait while they were doing their bit

:40:46. > :40:48.timepieces. She is 1 of these people who can overthink things but to come

:40:49. > :40:51.in now coaches were decided to do what works for Fran and not just

:40:52. > :40:53.being part of the team. She is part of the team but an individual on

:40:54. > :40:57.that team. There is plenty going on if you want to join us for the

:40:58. > :41:01.swimming later on. We will show you what we can enjoy. Stay up late with

:41:02. > :41:06.us and we have the backstroke final and the men's 100 meter butterfly

:41:07. > :41:15.final and the women's 800, featuring Jazz Carlin at 20 past and Britain's

:41:16. > :41:19.Ben Proud at 245 AM. I know it is very late or early, however you want

:41:20. > :41:23.to look at it but we have been enjoying your hash tags and telling

:41:24. > :41:26.us what you are doing to stay awake. When you listen to have excited Andy

:41:27. > :41:31.Jameson gets, and there's nothing wrong with that, there is no way you

:41:32. > :41:34.are sleeping. Andy, what will it be like in here this evening when we

:41:35. > :41:39.see Michael Phelps? You have commentated on his Gold Medal is,

:41:40. > :41:44.all 22 of them. Does that mean you are presented top Trumps? I don't

:41:45. > :41:47.know. I think I'm the luckiest presenter in the world because the

:41:48. > :41:51.guy is absolutely phenomenal and what we saw last night on the 200

:41:52. > :41:55.medley, you just feel history unfolding as you watch it. Your

:41:56. > :42:00.drawl -- that your jaw drops and you have to try and come up with words

:42:01. > :42:04.to say that it is the 26th Olympic medal that he has got a 22 of them

:42:05. > :42:09.are gold and he is extraordinary. He went into the semifinal of the

:42:10. > :42:15.hundred metres butterfly thought for a 2nd he wouldn't make it. He was

:42:16. > :42:19.way down on the turn but it the class because he can put it out of

:42:20. > :42:23.his mind and do more than enough, he is brilliant. Did you guys have a

:42:24. > :42:28.thesaurus up there because I think you must run out of words to

:42:29. > :42:33.describe Michael Phelps? We have 1 online now. We had to find 1 for

:42:34. > :42:37.tonight. The medley relay is not open, he has the hundred fly tonight

:42:38. > :42:42.and the medley relay tomorrow so he could have the best Olympics is had.

:42:43. > :42:47.His 1st Olympics since Sydney, which was 15 but when he came through into

:42:48. > :42:54.2004 he had 1 of his best Olympics ever and it is his last 4 and he was

:42:55. > :42:59.written off after 2014. After he won the 200 medley was the 1st swimmer

:43:00. > :43:07.to win the same event with 4 gold-medal Singh consecutive

:43:08. > :43:11.Olympics. Iggy does same tonight, at some time, in a funny way, I'm quite

:43:12. > :43:17.looking forward to him stopping because I don't know what else to

:43:18. > :43:22.say about the guy. I think the other swimmers are really looking forward

:43:23. > :43:26.to him stopping! Michael Phelps is going for his 23rd gold this evening

:43:27. > :43:33.by Jazz Carlin is going for her 2nd medal of the meat. Here is a bit

:43:34. > :43:39.more about Jazz Carlin. I'm going there to be on the podium.

:43:40. > :43:44.I am doing everything I can. Jazz Carlin looks great, she's starting

:43:45. > :43:52.to swim away. All these years of training and the hours of the early

:43:53. > :43:55.morning, it is for Rio. I'm going to give it absolutely everything and if

:43:56. > :44:02.that is good enough to be on the podium it will be an incredible

:44:03. > :44:07.feeling. Silver to Jazz Carlin! A wonderful Silver Medal for Great

:44:08. > :44:11.Britain. In 2011I found out I had glandular fever and I was so close

:44:12. > :44:15.to hanging my goggles and costume up but I think that is what sport is

:44:16. > :44:20.like, it tests you and it is about how you overcome the lows to

:44:21. > :44:24.appreciate all the highs and have all the good times throughout sport.

:44:25. > :44:28.Jazz Carlin for Great Britain, Olympic silver, now she is a truly

:44:29. > :44:32.world-class swimmer and the greatest. Sometimes I do take myself

:44:33. > :44:35.too seriously. I can be really hard on myself and that is natural

:44:36. > :44:40.athlete but I think to just appreciate everything, especially

:44:41. > :44:43.this year which has been in the Olympic year, I've been quite

:44:44. > :44:47.stressed and I have put a lot of pressure on myself really. I think

:44:48. > :44:50.it's because I wanted it is so much for so long and once I realised it

:44:51. > :44:54.is just swimming and just sport and something I love to do and since I

:44:55. > :44:58.was a young girl I used to love being in the pool of racing and

:44:59. > :45:03.having fun, so I think I've tried to capture that feeling again and have

:45:04. > :45:06.the enjoyment back into my training. I'm going to make sure I do

:45:07. > :45:11.everything and have no regrets and once I'm on those blocks were given

:45:12. > :45:14.110% in all that I've done I have no regrets and I can walk away from the

:45:15. > :45:19.pool knowing I gave everything in there.

:45:20. > :45:26.I feel a bit sorry for Jazz Carlin and she would get more attention and

:45:27. > :45:31.possibly a gold medal if it wasn't for Katie Ledecky. Katie Ledecky is

:45:32. > :45:35.very special, isn't she? She's like Michael Phelps, they are in the same

:45:36. > :45:41.bracket, with what she has done over the last four years, but the great

:45:42. > :45:49.thing for Jazz Carlin is to stick to her own race plan,, she is at Katie

:45:50. > :45:53.Ledecky's foetal the time of day can be demoralising but Jazz doesn't

:45:54. > :45:57.think like that. You have to let Katie go off, she has the gold and

:45:58. > :46:01.the fighters who will get this silver and bronze on the other

:46:02. > :46:06.medals and Jazz has done that on the 400 this week and I always say 800

:46:07. > :46:13.is Jazz event, she is so much better at the 400 this year, but the 800,

:46:14. > :46:16.she has been an 8.15, she nearly got the British record, so she will

:46:17. > :46:20.possibly break that tonight and I would love to see her do that,

:46:21. > :46:24.especially to rival Katie as well, Katie is so far ahead it would be

:46:25. > :46:28.nice to see the rest of the world catch up with Katie. She has kind of

:46:29. > :46:31.gone and everyone else has stayed behind with what we've been doing

:46:32. > :46:40.for the past ten years. The rest of the world hasn't moved with her and

:46:41. > :46:43.the rest of the girls now need to move that on. Sharon, let's hear

:46:44. > :46:53.from you, you are quite close, there she is going in the 400 earlier this

:46:54. > :46:57.week. What do you make of her form? Jazz's? It's been as good as I have

:46:58. > :47:01.seen, hopefully she can do a personal best, she got a bronze

:47:02. > :47:06.medal at the worlds and hopefully she will get the silver tonight.

:47:07. > :47:10.Sharon, you watch Jazz very closely because you have a strong Bond with

:47:11. > :47:16.her out of the pool. What do you make of her form this week? I do,

:47:17. > :47:21.when she moved from Swansea to Bass, they couldn't rent anything for less

:47:22. > :47:26.than six months and they moved my flat above the garage and were

:47:27. > :47:30.tenants but of mine for a while. She is a compulsive person, a lot of

:47:31. > :47:34.people are in the 8001500 metre environment, think of Paula

:47:35. > :47:38.Radcliffe, almost over trains. Sometimes Jazz can be guilty of

:47:39. > :47:42.that, she is hard on herself. I remember talking to Dave and Dave

:47:43. > :47:47.seeing Tomic make maybe just try to build the confidence and calm her

:47:48. > :47:50.down, tell her she doesn't have to be so tough on herself and that

:47:51. > :47:54.stuff. She spent a lot of coffee mornings with me in the kitchen and

:47:55. > :47:59.I was extremely pleased for her the other day. The confidence she will

:48:00. > :48:04.have got from the 400, she will take into the 800. She already has a

:48:05. > :48:08.medal and everything is a bonus. She believes the 800 is the best event

:48:09. > :48:12.and I know she would like to go for Becky's record. When I spoke to her

:48:13. > :48:16.after her heat, she seemed confident she was swimming within herself. I'm

:48:17. > :48:20.looking forward to it. We are looking forward to it, set your

:48:21. > :48:24.alarm if you want to see how Jazz Carlin gets on. She mentioned the

:48:25. > :48:28.British record there. We always pull your leg about Ben Proud and the

:48:29. > :48:35.British record. What is it like if someone takes your British's -- your

:48:36. > :48:38.British record? Is it bittersweet? Oh, it's amazing, when I see Katie

:48:39. > :48:47.Ledecky break the record it's amazing to see the sport moving on.

:48:48. > :48:52.The British record? For today I can live it out. It's one of those

:48:53. > :48:56.things, as sports fans, we are such big lovers of swimming, we want the

:48:57. > :48:59.sport move on and progress and the facts people are pushing boundaries

:49:00. > :49:04.and getting quicker, I'm pleased for the profile it gives the sport.

:49:05. > :49:08.Tonight the men 's 50 three, the fastest man on the planet in the

:49:09. > :49:13.pool will be crowned. Which way do you see this going, what Ben's

:49:14. > :49:18.chances? If you look at the past form, Mama do was the one who looked

:49:19. > :49:24.incredibly strong, he seems to always deliver at the right time,

:49:25. > :49:32.21.3 last night, Ben is on 21.5, and between second and this is not .8 of

:49:33. > :49:37.the second which is not an awful lot. On a 50 freestyle, it's the

:49:38. > :49:41.person who gets everything right and we saw it last night with Cate

:49:42. > :49:45.Campbell in the 100 freestyle, she is not .2 slower than other people

:49:46. > :49:51.and you can't give that sort of time away so as long as he gets off the

:49:52. > :49:56.lot well and his start is phenomenal, we will see something

:49:57. > :50:03.special tonight, hopefully. Stay up for Ben and Jazz, you have meant

:50:04. > :50:07.Lord Ben and you might have two men talked Ore Oduba because he is going

:50:08. > :50:11.to be on Strictly. You should get yourself in here because the

:50:12. > :50:20.atmosphere when Michael Phelps, was versus audition? A bit more hip

:50:21. > :50:26.action I think, Ore We have a lot of work to do. Clearly! While I've been

:50:27. > :50:28.practising some of the done thing there's been a lot of excitement

:50:29. > :50:35.about one of the broadcasters here at the Olympic Park, not me, one of

:50:36. > :50:39.the main sport TV Brazilian broadcasters has attracted a lot of

:50:40. > :50:47.attention right there. He has even had to... Can you see him? He is

:50:48. > :50:51.over there. Let's go and chase the crowd. We actually had a big BBC

:50:52. > :50:55.training course before this about working in crowds. I think I might

:50:56. > :51:00.be breaking a bit of the rules. In there, in all the hubbub, I haven't

:51:01. > :51:04.got his name but he seems very popular indeed. This is some of the

:51:05. > :51:08.excitement that we get on the Olympic Park. We don't have it too

:51:09. > :51:12.often, actually. Sometimes it's nice to show it, well played, Alan, you

:51:13. > :51:19.got right in the middle of that. Let's go past the crowd because,

:51:20. > :51:22.more self is the park, no problem, no problem, we will go through the

:51:23. > :51:27.park because we are talking tennis next. That is the main Olympic

:51:28. > :51:31.Tennis Centre over there, we have shown you were before. It's the

:51:32. > :51:36.British number one, the team G Flag bearer who is taking to the court

:51:37. > :51:39.right now, three matches, three victories so far, he is in the

:51:40. > :51:44.quarterfinals against America's Steve Johnson, a win he will be in

:51:45. > :51:47.the semis and looking on course to retain his Olympic gold medal,

:51:48. > :51:52.playing either Kei Nishikori Gael Monfils. He has one more sett to

:51:53. > :51:56.winning this match if he is to progress to the next four. He won

:51:57. > :52:00.the first set by 6-0 pretty convincingly so let's see if Andy

:52:01. > :52:03.Murray can wrap this one up in the second that. Do that thing where you

:52:04. > :52:24.push into the court, into number one court.

:52:25. > :52:27.COMMENTATOR: I wonder if Johnson is going to

:52:28. > :52:33.attack a little more. The trouble is that Murray was

:52:34. > :52:56.giving him very little to attack. APPLAUSE

:52:57. > :53:22.Better for second play from the American.

:53:23. > :53:24.Johnson is showing is a little bit more now.

:53:25. > :53:38.APPLAUSE Giving himself a real G up.

:53:39. > :53:43.Difficult second shot for Murray there. Johnson making the move

:53:44. > :54:43.forward. Now ahead on the Murray serve for the first time.

:54:44. > :54:57.Well played will. He had to win that point twice, I thought halfway

:54:58. > :55:01.through the rally a shot to his background could have been out, but

:55:02. > :55:02.he didn't hang around. He has two break points and he has deserved

:55:03. > :55:45.them. CHEERING

:55:46. > :55:51.Well, are there echoes of yesterday? Credit to Johnson. He has had a very

:55:52. > :55:58.difficult time, but he has put it behind him. Much more enterprise

:55:59. > :56:03.about him in that game. A good mixture of forcing play and in the

:56:04. > :56:34.longest rally he defended well as well.

:56:35. > :56:51.Sorry about the language, if you picked that up.

:56:52. > :57:09.Yes, there is a danger of course after the first set you can be

:57:10. > :57:13.lulled into a false selves of security. Even Andy Murray hasn't

:57:14. > :57:20.had too many sets as easy as that and now it is all change. The first

:57:21. > :57:48.ace for Johnson in the match. Got a lot on the club. You wouldn't

:57:49. > :57:56.believe this was a guy who won the first set 6-0 just five minutes ago.

:57:57. > :58:06.CHEERING The good thing for Marie is that if

:58:07. > :58:10.it is going to be like it was yesterday, he did manage to

:58:11. > :58:17.extricate himself from the position -- Murray. It looked horrible at 3-0

:58:18. > :58:22.in the first set, it's not to say he will lose the second set. And with

:58:23. > :58:31.all due respect to Johnson, at his best he's not as good as Fognini

:58:32. > :58:48.Fognini's best. -- he's not as good as Fognini, at Fognini's best.

:58:49. > :59:05.He must have just drawn it long. It looked close. Johnson not having a

:59:06. > :59:47.lot of luck with challenges. APPLAUSE

:59:48. > :59:56.Johnson was rooted to the sport, he didn't have a clue where Murray was

:59:57. > :59:59.going. -- rooted to the spot. It looked more or less the same setup

:00:00. > :00:16.as the previous shot. See how different they were.

:00:17. > :00:26.You could hear it burgle off. A pity, because it would have been an

:00:27. > :00:43.ace -- you could hear the siren, off. -- goal off.

:00:44. > :01:06.Only 136 kilometres, but Harold to its mark. -- it went to its mark.

:01:07. > :01:24.APPLAUSE. So, it looks like he has calmed down a little. Johnson now

:01:25. > :01:39.leading 2-1. Johnson -- Murray in his third

:01:40. > :01:44.Olympics, had a bad experience at the first time he went to the games,

:01:45. > :01:55.he lost in the first round in a sheen. He admitted he was not

:01:56. > :02:01.properly prepared -- Beijing. It was different four years ago, a pivotal

:02:02. > :02:07.tournament, not just winning the Olympic gold medal, beating Novak

:02:08. > :02:13.Djokovic and Rafael Nadal -- Roger Federer. That was the launch pad for

:02:14. > :02:17.fantastic things to come, the US Open in 2012 and then winning

:02:18. > :02:47.Wimbledon following year and then again, just a month or so ago.

:02:48. > :03:08.APPLAUSE. Murray 21 down -- Michael Tu- one. That member he wrote

:03:09. > :03:46.Johnson in the second set -- 2-1. -- but remember, he broke Johnson.

:03:47. > :04:02.Certainly Murray is threatening the game. -- threatening again.

:04:03. > :04:23.UMPIRE: Server, please stand still. -- serve. -- Sir. Tennis is not

:04:24. > :04:45.really in their psyche, some of them do not really know what to do.

:04:46. > :05:40.Well done. He waited until Murray had made his move.

:05:41. > :05:50.Well played. Just thought for a moment that he might go for too

:05:51. > :05:54.much. Keeping it going, prodigious defence. Good work to get around

:05:55. > :06:28.this, then it in the corner. -- pin. A shot that along to the first set,

:06:29. > :06:56.really, from Johnson. -- that belonged.

:06:57. > :07:26.The aces are starting to flow, three now, all in this set.

:07:27. > :07:42.What is going on? Andy is getting it by the people coming in -- distract

:07:43. > :07:50.did. That spectator was in his byline. He is asking him to do

:07:51. > :07:55.something about it. -- byline. He has already had more than one

:07:56. > :08:07.request for people to sit down. It is mainly the stewards allowing

:08:08. > :08:21.people in. Got to forget it. It is probably not going to stop.

:08:22. > :09:24.Johnson wants to try and keep some pressure on Murray. He is really

:09:25. > :09:27.struggling. Distractions and here's irritated with himself for getting

:09:28. > :09:46.into this situation on the second set -- he is irritated with himself.

:09:47. > :10:01.Such a good shot from Andy Murray. It was a really ace and return from

:10:02. > :10:10.the American. -- it was a really decent return. Johnson did not

:10:11. > :10:19.really have a prayer on that move forward. It would have been close,

:10:20. > :10:32.but he will not challenge. What would he get if he did challenge?

:10:33. > :10:39.Johnson holes, it is 3-2. There is a dramatic turnaround in the women's

:10:40. > :11:02.semifinal. Give it over has come roaring back. -- Kvitova.

:11:03. > :11:10.Murray had to draw on all his experience to get it done in his

:11:11. > :11:14.last match and he needs to use his experience now to work out that the

:11:15. > :11:20.distractions are not going to finish. Just get on with the job in

:11:21. > :11:29.hand that Johnson did so well after the end of the first set. Turning

:11:30. > :11:34.into a fine day now, torrential rain this morning which was why the match

:11:35. > :11:43.was put back I around half an hour full is stop one break in the second

:11:44. > :11:46.set divides them -- which was why the match was put back by around

:11:47. > :12:12.half an hour. It seemed to rather collapse is on

:12:13. > :13:14.that. -- Clark 's on that. That is wonderful. It looked for all

:13:15. > :13:20.the world like it was going out. Johnson certainly thought so. Did

:13:21. > :13:47.not move a muscle towards it. Still distracted by the movement in

:13:48. > :13:56.the crowd, going for the towel again. Super play, how quickly he

:13:57. > :14:08.was in possession and now he has the chance to turn it around. Bit of

:14:09. > :14:13.juddering probably caused the pain in Johnson's arm. He was really

:14:14. > :14:17.hurting there. Awkward shot and here is an awkward moment, break back

:14:18. > :15:03.point for Murray. Plenty of sides then, but Murray

:15:04. > :15:32.would normally back himself to make that.

:15:33. > :15:43.After the first set, things in Murray's mind seemed to be

:15:44. > :15:54.conspiring against him. 4.4 for- two for the American. A point for 4-2

:15:55. > :16:07.for the American. Maybe he is still struggling with

:16:08. > :16:49.that elbow. Neither player has had much luck

:16:50. > :17:20.with challenges, particularly Johnson.

:17:21. > :17:25.Well, Steve Johnson may only have been to the last 16 of a grand slam

:17:26. > :17:30.once before, but he is proving a frustration for Andy Murray. He went

:17:31. > :17:36.on to win the second set 6-4 and level the match. If you want to see

:17:37. > :17:40.how Andy Murray does on a number one court then BBC One is the place to

:17:41. > :17:46.go to see if Andy Murray can make his way into the semifinals of the

:17:47. > :17:55.men's singles tennis. We are hoping to another -- hopping to another

:17:56. > :18:00.racquet sport. Badminton. Great Britain have another pair in the

:18:01. > :18:07.men's doubles. How can Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge do in their

:18:08. > :18:10.group C clash? They are taking on the Korean third seeds after having

:18:11. > :18:21.lost in the first match against the 2012 runners-up of Denmark. They are

:18:22. > :18:25.taking on the two Kims. They have hopes of reaching the quarterfinals.

:18:26. > :19:27.Let's see how the British pair get on against Kim and Kim.

:19:28. > :19:34.Sparkling start from Ellis and language. They will be delighted

:19:35. > :19:47.with this. It has been down to if you forced errors from the Koreans.

:19:48. > :19:58.Both five foot ten tall, Kim Sa-rang is just a year older than Kim

:19:59. > :20:09.Gi-jung. He resides in Seoul himself.

:20:10. > :20:18.They are almost sort of gung ho in the way they play. Very dynamic and

:20:19. > :20:26.fearless. Ranked third in the world. They won the Malaysians opened this

:20:27. > :20:32.year. Also runners-up in the Thailand Masters. They won the China

:20:33. > :20:40.open at the end of 2015 and the Korean Masters as well, so a great

:20:41. > :20:48.year. Round 16 of the World Championships in Jakarta last year,

:20:49. > :20:55.where this team went around further. They beat them in that tournament.

:20:56. > :21:01.Today, these two men in red from Great Britain will be looking to

:21:02. > :21:11.repeat that feat. But it is not an easy task.

:21:12. > :21:16.Anxious start from the Koreans. Possibly hampered by that previous

:21:17. > :22:09.head-to-head loss. It is a 4-point game, this one. Lots

:22:10. > :22:15.of head scratching going on between the Koreans at the moment, yet to

:22:16. > :22:22.settle. They want to be pushing the panic button quite yet. -- they will

:22:23. > :22:47.not be pushing the panic button quite yet.

:22:48. > :22:57.Thunderous from Langridge. Ever alert. Played such a good match last

:22:58. > :23:04.night and it was a shame they had to lose out to the experience of the

:23:05. > :23:18.lefty righty combination of Bolan Mortensen.

:23:19. > :23:29.The Koreans yet to concede a game. They won their opener against the

:23:30. > :23:32.Polish pair. Straight games, 21-14 and 21-15. Just over half an hour

:23:33. > :23:37.played. It was an emphatic performance. Langridge and Ellis are

:23:38. > :23:55.a different opposition altogether. A beautiful slice from Marcus Ellis.

:23:56. > :24:01.He is delighted with that. Tight to the net as it dropped, laden with

:24:02. > :24:05.spin. Two points away from the opening game and it is a really

:24:06. > :24:11.strong start. Look at the disparity in the scoreline here, seven points

:24:12. > :24:14.adrift, the Koreans, the senior seeds. The only seats in the group.

:24:15. > :24:36.Group C, very strong. -- seeds. Born in Epsom, resides in Milton

:24:37. > :25:09.Keynes. Well, Kim Sa-rang is normally very

:25:10. > :25:18.good with the forecourt touch. Some wonderful tight net shops. But

:25:19. > :25:23.today, the radar is off the moment. Seven points to take themselves to

:25:24. > :26:09.the mid-game interval with a very strong footing for the British team.

:26:10. > :26:25.Britain's on the attack. Denied fair, superb reflexes from Kim

:26:26. > :26:29.Gi-jung. -- denied there. Very alert. A flick of the wrist

:26:30. > :27:01.manufactured something brilliant. Chris Langridge holding a finger up,

:27:02. > :27:07.he wants a challenge. It was very close. Just wide, I would say. We

:27:08. > :27:15.are going upstairs for the electronic review. What does it

:27:16. > :27:26.conclude? Always takes a little while. The suspense is overwhelming.

:27:27. > :27:39.China won all five golds on offer in the Olympics of London 2012. That

:27:40. > :27:44.was well wide here. One of the fastest and most demanding physical

:27:45. > :27:48.sports on the Olympic programme. Lunging, thrusting, darting in

:27:49. > :27:55.pursuit of the shuttlecock. Sometimes faster than a Formula 1

:27:56. > :28:05.car. Requires supreme athleticism and lightning fast reactions.

:28:06. > :28:14.I think in his mind, in his line of vision, he saw the Koreans closing

:28:15. > :28:20.the net down pretty quickly, so Marcus Ellis just playing a bit too

:28:21. > :28:25.tight to the net with that tight net shops. Reducing the deficit now, the

:28:26. > :29:40.Koreans. A different feel about it. The national coach coming on and

:29:41. > :29:44.insisting it is all about variety, changing the attack lines and if you

:29:45. > :29:51.are going to go big, go wide with it. They are in the driving seat of

:29:52. > :30:18.this opening game, the British pair. Leading 11-7.

:30:19. > :30:27.The lead is being nibbled at somewhat by the parent who have had

:30:28. > :30:51.a decent run of consecutive points. -- by the pair. A 3-point game.

:30:52. > :30:59.The momentum has shifted now. The British players were in complete

:31:00. > :31:04.control prior to the mid-game interval but now the lead is

:31:05. > :31:26.dissipating slowly and it is a two point game.

:31:27. > :31:42.They can ill afford service faults like that. So, can Kim Sa-rang com

:31:43. > :31:49.copped some magic here? -- come up with some magic here. That was a

:31:50. > :32:30.heavy smash and Kim Gi-jung... Both teams playing with good with,

:32:31. > :32:38.disposing of the movement nicely. In the end, it is Kim Gi-jung and Kim

:32:39. > :32:45.Sa-rang coming out on top, they seem to have the momentum, that little

:32:46. > :32:48.bit more alert. They seem to be on top of the situation but not quite

:32:49. > :33:09.the scoreline yet, trailing another point, they are 11-12 now.

:33:10. > :33:32.That is gorgeous, this slice from Marcus Ellis was brilliant.

:33:33. > :33:38.Both teams have manufactured consecutive points runs of three,

:33:39. > :33:57.but only one of them each. Fast, furious doubles, that is what

:33:58. > :34:04.it is all about. Flat hard blocks and drives to get on the attack

:34:05. > :34:09.first, either team, neither want to give away the lift opportunity

:34:10. > :34:35.because all of them are adept at smashing with pace.

:34:36. > :34:42.Thunderous finish in the end from the Koreans, although for the

:34:43. > :34:48.British duo, Chris Langridge was down for a while, because he thought

:34:49. > :34:53.the point was over. He was skidding for a while and came to a halt and

:34:54. > :34:58.realised the point was going on and managed to resume, but to no avail

:34:59. > :35:13.in the end. A brilliant point to watch.

:35:14. > :35:26.Nothing between them now in this opener, they are mopping up the

:35:27. > :35:27.sweat from the floor. These men are desperate to sustain the momentum

:35:28. > :35:40.that they have developed of late. You would imagine, for these guys,

:35:41. > :35:46.having lost their match last night to the pair from Denmark, this

:35:47. > :35:58.opening game against the decorated third seeds is a critical one.

:35:59. > :36:31.There is more of an upbeat feel to Kim Gi-jung and Kim Sa-rang now.

:36:32. > :36:41.Well played, power play from Kim Sa-rang down that final smash. They

:36:42. > :36:52.are on the front foot a lot more often now, the men in black and

:36:53. > :37:02.pink. If keeping with their seeding status, three out here in this

:37:03. > :37:11.tournament. The umpire suggesting, come on guys, get on with it.

:37:12. > :37:15.They have responded magnificently by rattling off multiple points of

:37:16. > :37:34.late, the Koreans. Desperately keen to close that down

:37:35. > :37:38.and he gets the lucky net cord. It is a game in favour of the Koreans,

:37:39. > :38:08.who would have thought that? So tough to get the Koreans to play

:38:09. > :38:10.back cans, they are so adept at running around and clobbering

:38:11. > :38:28.forehand smashes -- backhand. Chris Langridge is the elder player

:38:29. > :38:32.on the team. Five years older than Marcus Ellis. Barking out the

:38:33. > :39:12.orders. Men's Doubles at its best. Great

:39:13. > :39:18.point from both teams. So keenly contested. The intensity here is the

:39:19. > :39:24.lights out. A thunderous finish from Kim Sa-rang who came to the party

:39:25. > :39:28.little late, he had a very slow start -- slow start. Now he is

:39:29. > :39:48.coming alongside and what a spectacle this is.

:39:49. > :39:59.You can see why they suggested varying up the attacks, because the

:40:00. > :40:11.Koreans with lightning intensity are very quick. It is about changing

:40:12. > :40:22.that up. Changing the line of the attack positionally.

:40:23. > :40:29.A telling return from Kim Sa-rang, very quick to redirect. It is a one

:40:30. > :41:06.point game. Frontcourt player, Kim Sa-rang, look

:41:07. > :41:17.at him, he is so tough to get past. His reflexes are so good. He has

:41:18. > :41:32.controlled the frontcourt really well, Kim Sa-rang.

:41:33. > :41:39.They have changed their game style quite dramatically for the first

:41:40. > :41:44.quarter of this game, if you will. Playing faster and better, the

:41:45. > :41:51.Koreans, they are a tough proposition, in contrast from the

:41:52. > :41:52.very start. It is a 3-point game and more importantly, Kim Gi-jung with

:41:53. > :42:20.the serve. It is a slow and deliberate walk

:42:21. > :42:24.over to the service judge for another shuttle. One in which they

:42:25. > :42:29.have really lost their way but they have not done an awful lot wrong,

:42:30. > :42:34.they had just been flat beaten in this opening game by the third seeds

:42:35. > :42:36.who have really turned it on after the mid-game interval like nothing

:42:37. > :42:51.else. Not done yet, this opener, they will

:42:52. > :43:15.be fighting with all their might to turn it around.

:43:16. > :43:25.That is cruel, Lady luck favouring the Koreans, but you have to be fair

:43:26. > :43:40.to them, they worked extremely hard to turn that game around. In the

:43:41. > :43:44.end, they got the last laugh. 21-17. First blood to the Korean pair, we

:43:45. > :43:52.will be back in a moment for the rest of it. No, let us stick with

:43:53. > :43:57.it. Up they went, the Koreans in the first set and we will join it in the

:43:58. > :44:07.second, with Great Britain leading and serving by 16 points to 15. As

:44:08. > :44:11.they showed us in the opening game, they can't soon swept the -- flick

:44:12. > :44:34.the switch back on. Ever dangerous. Even that one went the way of the

:44:35. > :44:36.British duo, to their delight. Take that shot, tumbling on the wrong

:44:37. > :44:48.side for Kim Sa-rang. A rough passage of play for these

:44:49. > :44:56.two them, trailing two points in the second game. This game can change in

:44:57. > :45:30.a heartbeat, we have seen it so often.

:45:31. > :45:35.How often you see in matches like these were the smallest of margins

:45:36. > :46:06.as the largest of consequences. Terrific point, spreading the play

:46:07. > :46:11.well. Very alert. Turning defence into attack immaculately. It is a

:46:12. > :46:28.two point lead for Ellis and Langridge now.

:46:29. > :46:38.He's braced and poised with energy. Nervous, ritualistic twitches.

:46:39. > :46:45.Just got behind him a little vert, Kim Sa-rang ever so quick around the

:46:46. > :46:51.net. We have seen that on multiple occasions. Have they got more in the

:46:52. > :47:06.tank as we had towards the climax of this second game?

:47:07. > :47:11.Getting the shuttlecock down and your opponents down, all about the

:47:12. > :47:35.aggression in the front court. Putting some scoreboard pressure on

:47:36. > :47:40.the Koreans. Taking their time. Making it compound in these guys'

:47:41. > :47:46.mind. Still two points adrift in the second game. Can Ellis and Langridge

:47:47. > :47:55.consolidate? It's a one point game. We know what

:47:56. > :48:50.these two are capable of. Super return from Marcus Ellis that

:48:51. > :48:56.really set the point up beautifully, and now they have engineered a

:48:57. > :49:00.couple of game point opportunities, Ellis and Langridge, to detain the

:49:01. > :49:06.third seeds and take this match to a deciding game.

:49:07. > :49:12.They need a win here, the British, two seriously contest this tough

:49:13. > :49:29.group C. One game point saved with some

:49:30. > :50:17.courageous play from the Kims. Insistent. Kim Gi-jung hammering his

:50:18. > :50:26.way through. It is a 2-point game locked in at 20 points apiece. So

:50:27. > :50:30.close. A couple of game point opportunities at 20-18. Beg your

:50:31. > :50:56.pardon, 19-17. Again, age of the return from Marcus

:50:57. > :51:00.Ellis, who is quick to pounce, and Langridge sticking the knife in

:51:01. > :51:01.there. Another game point opportunity for Ellis and Langridge

:51:02. > :51:47.here. Don't they play the big points ever

:51:48. > :51:55.so well, the Koreans? Quite a skill they have. Cometh the hour,, the

:51:56. > :51:57.Koreans. They really have competed incredibly well, as, of course, have

:51:58. > :52:16.the British. It is quite something, their

:52:17. > :52:19.resilience, these two. Sorry, I shouldn't have gone for a drink

:52:20. > :52:27.then, I was just being a little cheeky. 21-21. Two Clear points to

:52:28. > :52:44.decide it. Marcus Ellis bullies his way through

:52:45. > :52:52.that point to give him the fourth game point opportunity. The Koreans

:52:53. > :52:59.looking a little bit baffled. Lucky there, Langridge. Stumbled, did Kim

:53:00. > :53:38.Sa-rang. He's OK. Brilliance again from Kim Gi-jung.

:53:39. > :53:40.My goodness. They are just like Houdini in their escapology here.

:53:41. > :54:21.Quite incredible. Oh, he's powered his way through

:54:22. > :54:25.down the line again. Brilliance from Marcus Ellis there, who was the real

:54:26. > :54:32.workhorse in that rally. Langridge barking out instruction. Look at

:54:33. > :54:38.that finish, so brave, just piercing the inside of the line. He's been a

:54:39. > :55:15.real powerhouse, has Marcus Ellis. Oh, too quick from Kim Sa-rang. I

:55:16. > :55:21.thought their Chris Langridge had played a brilliant shot, but this

:55:22. > :55:33.man is just so lightning fast around the net. Five Gamer points have come

:55:34. > :56:03.and gone. -- Gamer points. They have been denied.

:56:04. > :56:19.The Koreans playing catch up throughout the back end of this one.

:56:20. > :56:26.They have done so commendably, showing real character.

:56:27. > :56:36.It was in. Bit of a contrast in body language. Game points number six,

:56:37. > :56:38.then. It is on the server Marcus Ellis now. Can he do something quite

:56:39. > :57:11.special here? A roar of delight from Marcus Ellis.

:57:12. > :57:20.Hop, skip and a jump back to his bike and he is round that net in a
