:00:11. > :00:18.Strip will to view was BBC One. We live to

:00:19. > :00:33.the defending Olympics champion. This has gone to a deciding set

:00:34. > :00:37.tie-break. I will ask you to turn to continue coverage of this match in

:00:38. > :00:45.Rio. Back to Simon Reid.

:00:46. > :01:13.Andy Murray really tight. No mistakes, so far, in this

:01:14. > :02:01.tie-breaker. Oh, what a shot. Andy Murray finding

:02:02. > :02:10.it hard to accept and you can understand why. A miracle shot from

:02:11. > :02:14.Johnson on the move. Murray hat to have won the point with that shot.

:02:15. > :02:22.That was a shot Roger Federer would have been proud of. Exquisite

:02:23. > :02:37.control. He has brute force, but he has some ability also.

:02:38. > :02:45.UMPIRE: Ladies and gentlemen, take your seats, please.

:02:46. > :02:46.Still a lot of people moving around. It has been a constant factor in

:02:47. > :03:00.this match. No, it was never going to work, that

:03:01. > :03:15.one. Johnson hitting the ball away, but

:03:16. > :03:22.not too fiercely. He has already been warned for language.

:03:23. > :03:25.In the first set when things were going so badly wrong. He lost the

:03:26. > :04:09.first set 6-0. It has just drifted out.

:04:10. > :04:15.He will challenge. Of course he would. He has one left, now. The

:04:16. > :04:19.extra one from the break-up. It looked as if it had just drifted

:04:20. > :04:25.away. And here are four match points for

:04:26. > :05:09.Andy Murray to make it through to the semifinals.

:05:10. > :05:35.What a match. It is like two different tournaments this has been

:05:36. > :05:41.for Andy Murray. Easy as pie the first two rounds, but yesterday

:05:42. > :05:45.against Fognini, it was like a Houdini act and he has done it again

:05:46. > :05:50.against Steve Johnson. It was not the best of Andy Murray, but once

:05:51. > :05:55.again, we saw the best of his fighting qualities and that is what

:05:56. > :05:59.has seen him through. He has made it through to the semifinal and he is

:06:00. > :06:03.one match away from another Olympic medal.

:06:04. > :06:18.And in that semifinal he will meet Gael Monfils or Kei Nishikori. If he

:06:19. > :06:24.wins that he will be into a gold medal match to defend the one he won

:06:25. > :06:28.in London. Andy Murray is a sensational fighter and this matters

:06:29. > :06:33.to him. For all the talk when tennis came into the Olympics, that maybe

:06:34. > :06:38.it would not be a priority for the leading players. It has become a big

:06:39. > :06:44.deal for them. Rafa Nadal is here. Novak Djokovic went out in the first

:06:45. > :06:50.round, he was in tears. Andy Murray said it was the highest honour to

:06:51. > :06:56.carry the flag for Team GB in the opening ceremony. I will be chatting

:06:57. > :07:00.to some of these later on. We have a wonderfully packed programme with a

:07:01. > :07:06.glorious afternoon. It is time to bring on the dancing horses.

:07:07. > :07:18.The performing arts, Ellison -- elegance and grace to be admired and

:07:19. > :07:22.judged. For this is beauty and competition. It is smoothness and

:07:23. > :07:29.the finest attention to detail and the assessment of being marked. This

:07:30. > :07:34.is precision and this is pressure. Charlotte Dujardin has iced cake in

:07:35. > :07:39.style and Britain has another gold medal! The art of performance is to

:07:40. > :07:41.conceal the nerves and the emotion and to reveal only the poetry of the

:07:42. > :07:54.motion. Today you will see the Grand Prix

:07:55. > :07:59.special, the second day of the team accommodation. These are the scenes

:08:00. > :08:04.on Copacabana, not really a day for sunbathing. The sea is pretty wild,

:08:05. > :08:07.but it has cleared considerably from this morning when there was a

:08:08. > :08:12.massive rainstorm will stop if you are catching up on Olympics news, we

:08:13. > :08:22.will tell you what has happened so far. These are the headlines so far

:08:23. > :08:25.on day seven will stop Helen Glover and Heather Stanning continued their

:08:26. > :08:29.unbeaten run with the race that mattered, a gold medal in the

:08:30. > :08:38.women's pair to defend their Olympic title in style.

:08:39. > :08:51.The men's four were similarly powerful, Alex Gregory,

:08:52. > :08:58.Mohammed and Nash and a lewdness. A terrific start to the heptathlon.

:08:59. > :09:04.Katarina Johnson-Thompson leads after setting a new British record

:09:05. > :09:08.in the high jump. Jessica Ennis-Hill winning the 100 metres hurdles. She

:09:09. > :09:15.is lying in third at the moment with two events to come tonight.

:09:16. > :09:29.Jo Pavey was 15th in the women's 10,000 metres but did not achieve a

:09:30. > :09:35.season's best. The Ethiopian winning, smashing a record. And Andy

:09:36. > :09:45.Murray taken into a deciding set against Steve Johnson. He won it on

:09:46. > :09:50.a tie-break. Let's give you an idea of how things will pan out this

:09:51. > :09:55.evening and what you can expect to see. Very soon we will head to the

:09:56. > :10:06.dressage and stay until its conclusion. I will be talking to the

:10:07. > :10:10.silver medal winning rugby sevens team shortly. We will talk to Philip

:10:11. > :10:20.Hindes, who last night was part of the men's sprint team who won gold

:10:21. > :10:27.and we will give you Jason Kenny and Callum Skinner. And the team

:10:28. > :10:33.pursuit, that team including Sir Bradley Wiggins and they will go for

:10:34. > :10:39.gold a little later tonight. Before London 2012, Great Britain had never

:10:40. > :10:42.won a medal in dressage. Get to a home games and Charlotte Dujardin

:10:43. > :10:47.took the individual gold medal and was part of a gold medal winning

:10:48. > :10:52.team, a turnaround for a sport that had not registered in terms of

:10:53. > :10:56.public opinion. It has been an interesting start. We will pick it

:10:57. > :11:01.up with Fiona Bigwood whose story is sensational. It was not that long

:11:02. > :11:05.ago when she suffered a bad fall at a local event and it left her with

:11:06. > :11:11.concussion and problems with her vision, which means she rides with

:11:12. > :11:24.an eye patch. Two more to come after her. Commentary from Ian Stark and

:11:25. > :11:31.Mike Tucker. Fasten down the hatches and get the seat belts on. The next

:11:32. > :11:39.hour, hour and 20 minutes, will be pretty dramatic. The bronze medal,

:11:40. > :11:45.that is far from certain at the moment. It is looking perhaps more

:11:46. > :11:49.like the Netherlands creeping back to win the bronze. The United States

:11:50. > :11:55.of America have two still to come and a lot will be on their

:11:56. > :12:07.shoulders. And Britain trying to chase Germany.

:12:08. > :12:19.But now, the lady from Great Britain, Fiona Bigwood, from

:12:20. > :12:22.Horsham. Very much part of a great performance in the Europeans in

:12:23. > :12:37.Aachen. What about the Olympics in Rio? The second rider for Great

:12:38. > :12:52.Britain on this medal day. Lovely transition. You saw the horse really

:12:53. > :13:00.collecting. Starting on a good note. This horse has an amazing extended

:13:01. > :13:04.trot. Great freedom of the shoulder. Started off 8.1 for the halt. A good

:13:05. > :13:21.start. Really nice outline and balance. On

:13:22. > :13:31.the short side. The collected trot. Lovely cadence in the half pass.

:13:32. > :13:37.Nicely connected to the hands. Fiona is good with her hands there. She

:13:38. > :13:44.has struggled at times with this horse and her connection from the

:13:45. > :13:55.hands to the horse's mouth. She is sensitive, this horse. Fiona first

:13:56. > :13:59.that a championship of the world in 2010 in Kentucky. More recently part

:14:00. > :14:07.of the European success last year in Aachen. But now with Orthilia,

:14:08. > :14:14.looking for a medal in the Olympics. Her first Olympics. That patch, any

:14:15. > :14:19.of you who may not be altogether clear of the background of Fiona,

:14:20. > :14:29.who had a really bad fall in 2014. Really gave her head a Big Bang. Had

:14:30. > :14:34.bad double vision and was out of the saddle for many months. Tremendous

:14:35. > :14:39.to come back. And still problems with the double vision and so

:14:40. > :14:45.where's a patch accordingly. Certainly has not hampered her in

:14:46. > :14:46.the last two seasons on this lovely horse. Great cadence in the last

:14:47. > :15:10.half pass. The extended trot. She has to watch

:15:11. > :15:14.to make sure she does not tuck in to much and become to light in her

:15:15. > :15:40.contact. Very nice transition back. Fiona absolutely adores this mayor

:15:41. > :15:46.mare. Known as Tillie in the stable. When you have a good one, there is

:15:47. > :15:54.nothing better. She goes a little bit in there as if she is going into

:15:55. > :15:58.battle. A lovely extended walk. If Britain wins gold here and retains

:15:59. > :16:06.the Olympic title from 2012, all three of our riders, Fiona, Carl

:16:07. > :16:12.Hester, Charlotte, they will have to surpass themselves. At the moment,

:16:13. > :16:20.Fiona Bigwood and Orthilia get ink an average of 78%. Behind Dorothee

:16:21. > :16:45.Schneider. Mistake with the piaf.

:16:46. > :16:52.And back into the piaf again and again another low mac.

:16:53. > :16:59.That is really disappointing for her it looked like she lost confidence

:17:00. > :17:05.there a little bit. 3.9 for the piaf. And a 6.6 for the

:17:06. > :17:13.transition. This is starting to change things a little bit.

:17:14. > :17:19.Yes, it suddenly drops back to an average of just under 73%.

:17:20. > :17:30.Number 8 for the dressage. Now she can start to relax the mare. Ready

:17:31. > :17:46.for the final canter work. It's an easy balance.

:17:47. > :18:04.7.6 average for the first pass. 7 of 6 for the next. Some judges are

:18:05. > :18:11.giving 8s. Some are giving 7.5s. One tiny mistake at the end of the

:18:12. > :18:17.changes. That will be expensive. Slightly short on one hind leg. Then

:18:18. > :18:45.another error. 5.2. It is another low mark, sadly.

:18:46. > :19:02.7.2. Extended canter. Fiona must be careful to collect back nicely.

:19:03. > :19:07.Making a clean change. Very nice. Coming into this first pirouette on

:19:08. > :19:13.to the centre line. Nicely ridden out.

:19:14. > :19:24.Really sitting there in the pirouette. 7.8.

:19:25. > :19:34.Clean, one time changes. Moving on to the pirouette to the right.

:19:35. > :19:39.Nicely controlled out. This mare has talent for sitting. Such a shame to

:19:40. > :19:48.make the mistakes in the piaf. It is really one of her fortes.

:19:49. > :19:54.Not too much, Fiona... Just worried she was going to override and lose

:19:55. > :20:01.the balance. She did a great job, though, great job. You see how Fiona

:20:02. > :20:07.is holding what we call the snafflerein. Two bits in the horse's

:20:08. > :20:17.mouth. The curved one is below, slightly dangling. There is a more

:20:18. > :20:25.severe bit of the two bits. So she is riding very tactifully with the

:20:26. > :20:29.mild snaffle rein. I am really surprised with the piaf. Perhaps

:20:30. > :20:34.caught herself in the mouth in the piaf.

:20:35. > :20:39.I think that this mare was worried she may have made a mistake coming

:20:40. > :20:47.into the first piaf. Picked up down the last line. The marks got over

:20:48. > :20:52.the 74% on the averages. Now, that very definitely puts the

:20:53. > :20:59.ball back in the German's court, one feels.

:21:00. > :21:11.Peter Storr and Mike Tucker describing that. And Fiona Bigwood's

:21:12. > :21:24.score on Tillie was 74. .352%. Still to come, Charlotte Dujardin on the

:21:25. > :21:30.remarkable Valegro. Great Britain behind Germany. Amber

:21:31. > :21:34.Hill has gone out of the skeet shooting at the semi-final stage.

:21:35. > :21:41.But we are celebrating with the boys now. They won a silver medal in the

:21:42. > :21:48.rugby sevens. Katherine Downes followed them every step of the way.

:21:49. > :21:52.There is no doubt about it, rugby sevens has been the hit of the

:21:53. > :21:57.Olympics so far. Australia's women have won the Olympic title. Now Team

:21:58. > :22:06.GB's men are through to the final four. The Deodoro Stadium is ready

:22:07. > :22:13.to rock. In goeses yell,s issying Afrika. Dan

:22:14. > :22:21.Norton gets a boot on it. The try of the opening of the

:22:22. > :22:31.semi-final. Now the speedsters. One on one, easy past Dylan Sage.

:22:32. > :22:37.Great Britain's first try. Kolbe brings in to Sam. That went to

:22:38. > :22:44.ground. It's a steal by the red shirts. Dan Bibby waits. Sam Cross.

:22:45. > :22:51.Into Bibby. He hook it is off the park. Great Britain are in the gold

:22:52. > :22:56.final. They will play Fiji. This is the family of the captain of

:22:57. > :22:59.Great Britain Tom Mitchell. It was unbelievable. Speechless, I

:23:00. > :23:02.have no words. He is through with a chance to win

:23:03. > :23:09.the Olympic gold. I know. I have nothing to say about

:23:10. > :23:11.it, other than I could to the imagine this happening when we all

:23:12. > :23:17.flew out here. So this is it the final of the rugby

:23:18. > :23:21.sevens. The first time that the sport has been played at Olympics.

:23:22. > :23:26.Great Britain are guaranteed a medal. Will it be gold? This lot

:23:27. > :23:33.certainly hope so. And the captain of Fiji scores the

:23:34. > :23:41.first try. And the off load... Vuvu. It will be

:23:42. > :23:52.all over by half-time. It's a mauling. It is ugly! A try

:23:53. > :24:02.for Dan Norton. Great Britain are on the board! They have something from

:24:03. > :24:10.the final! Oh, it's gone forward. This could be... No! It is such a

:24:11. > :24:16.moment in the history of Fiji, the rugby team and Fiji the country.

:24:17. > :24:22.This is their first ever medal at the Olympic Games. It is gold. They

:24:23. > :24:28.have thumped Great Britain by 43-7. What do you think is happening at

:24:29. > :24:32.home right now? Oh, everybody will be celebrating, jumping up and down

:24:33. > :24:39.and kissing each other and so passionate as this is what it is all

:24:40. > :24:46.about. To witness the historic moment for the tiny island of Fiji,

:24:47. > :24:49.this is for the people of Fiji. The atmosphere is awesome. Great to

:24:50. > :24:55.share the sport with the rest of the world. Obviously for the rugby

:24:56. > :25:00.world, they know this is what it is like on every tournament. Hopefully

:25:01. > :25:07.it goes forward now. Next one to Tokyo! And a massive deal for Fiji.

:25:08. > :25:11.They had a tropical cyclone in February, it killed 44 people. They

:25:12. > :25:17.think that the Gold Medal will make a boost to benefit the economy to

:25:18. > :25:24.the tune of about ?167 million. But you guys came here and many of the

:25:25. > :25:31.people were expecting you to win a medalals. But did you necessarily

:25:32. > :25:36.expect to do it? We had challenges. There were some doubters, and there

:25:37. > :25:41.were challenges. But it's been an amazing journey.

:25:42. > :25:47.You only got together as a squad at the end of May? Yeah. We came

:25:48. > :25:52.together later. Unable to compete on the world serious like many our

:25:53. > :25:56.countries. So it was a day of everyone buying into it. Everyone

:25:57. > :26:00.has done that, not just here but those at home who did not make the

:26:01. > :26:06.final squad. So it is a testament to them. A lot of the work that they

:26:07. > :26:13.put in it is part of this success as well. I have to have a chat with Dan

:26:14. > :26:19.Bibby. Your try against Argentina will live long in the memory? Well,

:26:20. > :26:24.that was great. But these boys did the work. To keep Argentina out. It

:26:25. > :26:29.was something like 26 minutes without conceding a try. It was

:26:30. > :26:33.awesome. We are watching it again, so you can take the glory for a sec

:26:34. > :26:38.time. Doing a spin around. Bombarded by

:26:39. > :26:43.the boys. You can see the pride in the boys. How hard we worked to get

:26:44. > :26:50.the try. Are all of the boys did the hard work. That was just me get over

:26:51. > :27:00.the line. Now, next is James Davies. What do they call you, nobody calls

:27:01. > :27:06.you James Davies, just Cubby, why? I'm not sure, I think this was a

:27:07. > :27:12.mistake in Vegas. A mistake? I call it is moment of

:27:13. > :27:18.genius! But the journey has been incredible. Glad to be a part of it.

:27:19. > :27:23.Just brilliant. I need to have a word with Phil Burgess, not only was

:27:24. > :27:28.attack and flair and trying hugely important but your tackle on South

:27:29. > :27:32.Africa ensured Great Britain would anybody a Gold Medal match? It was

:27:33. > :27:38.something that we spoke about as a team. We wanted to be brave. Not to

:27:39. > :27:42.go out and makes a many tackles as possible but a case of going out

:27:43. > :27:48.there and making the ones that counted. If we missed a tackle it

:27:49. > :27:52.did not matter as the squad was there behind you to get the next

:27:53. > :27:59.one. So we were under pressure. I thought I'm going to go. I knew that

:28:00. > :28:05.Bibby wants hind me. He would take it from there. We got unstuck and it

:28:06. > :28:11.was good. And Marcus switched from the 15 a

:28:12. > :28:14.side game. You are straight back to autumn international with Scotland

:28:15. > :28:21.when you return? Hopefully. It has been great for me coming in. A

:28:22. > :28:28.challenge. A different game. It is tougher and puts a lot of strain on

:28:29. > :28:33.the skills. So it can only put us in a good place going back to 15s.

:28:34. > :28:40.Would you fancy doing seven again? It's been great fun. Why not.

:28:41. > :28:47.Well, a terrific place. A round of applause again for our silver medal

:28:48. > :28:57.winning rugby sevens team. And in the diving we have been celebrating

:28:58. > :29:02.golds thanks to Jack Laws and Chris Mears.

:29:03. > :29:07.What is starting there now? Well, there was no diving until 2.00pm. As

:29:08. > :29:12.you can see the pool is a very odd shade of colour. Answers on a

:29:13. > :29:18.postcard. But there is diving this afternoon. The women's three-metre

:29:19. > :29:23.prove limbs. So no answers to why the pool is

:29:24. > :29:27.green is it still green? Yes. Answers on a postcard. But no

:29:28. > :29:35.training this morning. Some teams were cross. But the ladies are about

:29:36. > :29:40.to take to the boards. 29 of them. Rebecca Gallantree and Grace Reid.

:29:41. > :29:46.The top eight make it through to the semi-final.

:29:47. > :29:55.Thank you, Sam. Now, I am looking over there, I see David Florence and

:29:56. > :30:01.Richard Hounslow, nabbed by 5 Live. Now we will reflect on rogue. As I

:30:02. > :30:08.mentioned in the headlines, a sensational success in the women's

:30:09. > :30:12.pair, Helen Glover and Heather Stanning and they did not let anyone

:30:13. > :30:23.down. We can show you that in a moment... Indeed, there we go. As we

:30:24. > :30:26.hit 1500m, the last 50 strokes in the women's pair and Glover and

:30:27. > :30:31.Stanning have dominated from the first stroke. Gone out. Hit it hard

:30:32. > :30:36.to 500. Dominated in the middle of the 1,000 metres. Now they can look

:30:37. > :30:40.back and allow a little creeping in. I hope that they are enjoying it

:30:41. > :30:45.from here in. Still a job to be done. That is the delays, the high

:30:46. > :30:48.class that they set themselves. The one thing that the New

:30:49. > :30:52.Zealanders have paid for with doubling up is the blasting from the

:30:53. > :30:56.start. Their legs will be tired. They have done many standing starts.

:30:57. > :31:03.With the rhythm they are a quick pair. But a little sprint taken them

:31:04. > :31:08.from the blocks and now challenging the USA and Denmark for the silver

:31:09. > :31:12.medal and the bronze medal. We are watching and hell yawned Heather are

:31:13. > :31:20.absolutely awe inspiring. Be inspired by the journey over the

:31:21. > :31:32.last Olympiad. Undefeated in the combination coming to 250 out. And

:31:33. > :31:36.the combination that dared to take them out, Rasmussen and they are

:31:37. > :31:40.still ahead. There is the battle for the silver

:31:41. > :31:45.medal, bringing them back slightly. But they are not going to catch the

:31:46. > :31:48.British. 100 out, the heads are still held

:31:49. > :31:51.high. They believe themselves to the line. Denmark coming hard. New

:31:52. > :31:57.Zealand are coming hard. But they are going to run out of water. So

:31:58. > :32:02.they should. They were made to pay for it in the opening 1,000 metres.

:32:03. > :32:07.Fearless! Without equal! They are history makers. Great Britain's

:32:08. > :32:12.Glover and Stanning defend their Olympic title and they have done it

:32:13. > :32:17.in such style! It's carnival time here at the Lagoa for Great Britain.

:32:18. > :32:21.Their arms go up in the air. They have shown the world that they are

:32:22. > :32:28.the very, very best in this event. History makers here again. James we

:32:29. > :32:35.have to stand and salute them. A 39th win in a row for the

:32:36. > :32:38.invincible, unbreakable pair of Helen Glover and Heather Stanning.

:32:39. > :32:44.Such a strong advert for working hard. Staying strong mentally and a

:32:45. > :32:49.partnership. That is Great Britain's fifth Gold

:32:50. > :32:52.Medal. We have since taken the total to sixth. And these guys taking a

:32:53. > :33:11.silver in the canoe slalom. Richard Hounslow and David Florence.

:33:12. > :33:18.What do you think of the Olympics this year? It has been great.

:33:19. > :33:23.Such great support. It has been really nice for us to see people

:33:24. > :33:26.supporting us. And to get up tonight podium.

:33:27. > :33:32.Richard have you had a chance to watch your race back and analyse it?

:33:33. > :33:38.I have not at all to be honest. I flicked through the BBC website. I

:33:39. > :33:42.did not watch it though, I wanted to let things settle.

:33:43. > :33:46.This is a chance to see the end of it.

:33:47. > :33:52.Apparently we were up at this point. Similar to London which was tough.

:33:53. > :33:56.But it was a great performance. Everything pretty much went to plan.

:33:57. > :34:01.Always little bits here and there that come and go. But we were happy

:34:02. > :34:11.with the performance there. It was great when we crossed the

:34:12. > :34:15.line to get into the medal position. But the Slovak guys from really

:34:16. > :34:20.great. Put on a great run. So close and tight margins again.

:34:21. > :34:24.So far for Team GB, this has been the Olympics of the water. Why is it

:34:25. > :34:29.that we are so successful with watersports? Probably depends on the

:34:30. > :34:35.sport. We are lucky to have had a fantastic training venue off the

:34:36. > :34:38.back of London 2012. That made a difference to our sport. In our

:34:39. > :34:42.sport there is a tradition of it in Britain. It is something that both

:34:43. > :34:46.of us got into through our parents. It has been a big sport in Britain

:34:47. > :34:49.for a long time, I guess. You have done a terrific job of

:34:50. > :35:00.persuading others. Many thanks. Let's see what medal we can win in

:35:01. > :35:05.the dressage. Now we have the team captain, Carl Hester, who coaches

:35:06. > :35:10.the rest of the team. How can he perform on this huge horse, Nip

:35:11. > :35:13.Tuck, who was spooky, he Spooks had any thing that might move, so

:35:14. > :35:19.important he stays calm. Let's pick it up.

:35:20. > :35:27.Mike Tucker. You could not have joined us at a more dramatic time.

:35:28. > :35:34.This is Nip Tuck and Carl Hester, number three riders for Great

:35:35. > :35:40.Britain. Just under 70% good marks as we get the average for each

:35:41. > :35:48.movement, against the current leaders, 85.5, the Germans currently

:35:49. > :35:52.looking very strong to take the gold medal away that Britain won in

:35:53. > :35:57.London. Carl Hester was an important part of that gold medal. With this

:35:58. > :36:04.young course Nip Tuck, putting it a good performance. But not quite good

:36:05. > :36:10.enough, one feels, Peter. So far, he has been very well-behaved. That is

:36:11. > :36:20.always good point. Carl Hester really bounces back. I can see he is

:36:21. > :36:25.riding determinedly and positively, in a nice way. He is just a little

:36:26. > :36:34.bit more aware, right, you cannot spook here. A little bit more

:36:35. > :36:45.pushing from behind perhaps. Super in front. Look how much on the spot

:36:46. > :36:50.he is. Could be sitting a little bit more. The judges will take into

:36:51. > :37:00.account how much he is remaining in place. Carl is a master at keeping

:37:01. > :37:09.everything looking so easy. A little bit anticipating in the transition

:37:10. > :37:21.to canter. You can see Carl making adjustments, saying come on, we have

:37:22. > :37:28.a long way to go yet. Corrections with the rein to say, stay with me.

:37:29. > :37:37.Look at the likeness of Carl's hands. Clearly positioned. A nice,

:37:38. > :37:45.fine change. All of these little bits Carl earns a lot of marks.

:37:46. > :37:50.Creeping up, creeping up to 76.5. Looking a little bit, spooking at

:37:51. > :38:02.the camera. He gets nervous of cameras. Two time changes. They have

:38:03. > :38:14.built up a wonderful partnership over the years. The horse really

:38:15. > :38:26.trusts Carl. 8.1 for the flying changes.

:38:27. > :38:39.OK. Jumping from one flying change to the other every stride in the

:38:40. > :38:49.canter. Very nicely executed. 8.3 average, the mark. Positive riding

:38:50. > :38:53.from Carl in the extended. Watching as he comes back to the flying

:38:54. > :39:08.change. There is a camera also in that corner. Very nicely executed.

:39:09. > :39:18.The canter pirouette to the left. He has to run a line of changes.

:39:19. > :39:24.Completely straight. That judge will probably not be able to see anything

:39:25. > :39:28.but the horse coming straight at him which is really nice. Britain

:39:29. > :39:36.chasing Germany. At the moment it is an uphill struggle. Carl is doing a

:39:37. > :39:43.great job. Unfortunately he just had a mistake in the last pirouette. 4.3

:39:44. > :39:48.average, that was expensive. It will be, very much in light of the team

:39:49. > :39:52.behind us. The Netherlands are moving up. The Americans were in the

:39:53. > :40:00.bronze medal position. It looks as if it will go Netherlands's way.

:40:01. > :40:06.Looking to try to get up the ladder to a gold medal but we do not want

:40:07. > :40:15.to drop back to bronze. It is the silver we are really after, is what

:40:16. > :40:23.it boils down to. The home run now. It will be disappointing for Carl.

:40:24. > :40:31.It is expensive. Needs to keep him straight in the piaffe. Very nicely

:40:32. > :40:40.on the spot. Really nice rhythm in the final into a nice square Holt.

:40:41. > :40:46.And so Carl Hester, the inspiration behind the team. He trains three of

:40:47. > :40:53.the team, as well as himself. And there was Spencer Wilton

:40:54. > :40:58.congratulating the back-up team. But now, what will the school be?

:40:59. > :41:15.-- score. They have marked Carl quite high up

:41:16. > :41:18.with the riders position, 8.9. Nobody gets good marks at the end

:41:19. > :41:33.because he makes a good job. Always has such a light contact. It

:41:34. > :41:39.is a shame about this. I think it was the spooking of the camera. It

:41:40. > :41:49.is a shame. Well, outcomes Carl Hester. 76.4. It does not get us

:41:50. > :41:54.closer to the Germans but it keeps us a little more ahead of the

:41:55. > :42:08.bronze-medallists. We can head over to Deodoro to put

:42:09. > :42:13.that in context before we see the next rider. Lee McKenzie is there.

:42:14. > :42:19.Where do you think the challenge might be coming for Silva, can

:42:20. > :42:27.Britain hang on? I think so stop we have such highly regarded Charlotte

:42:28. > :42:31.Dujardin coming up. Carl, a slight mistake in the last pirouette but in

:42:32. > :42:39.comparison to yesterday, when the horse was spooky, this was greatly

:42:40. > :42:41.improved. Next in the arena, the final rider from the USA, Laura

:42:42. > :43:01.Graves. He is Mike Tucker. She is a very talented writer and

:43:02. > :43:13.this combination of horse and rider is very nice to watch. Hopefully we

:43:14. > :43:21.will see the highlight, her half passes can look beautiful. A little

:43:22. > :43:25.bit perhaps tight in the neck today. These riders I think are feeling the

:43:26. > :43:47.pressure today. Very active. Lots of use of all his

:43:48. > :43:55.joints. Very clear and a nice transition into the extended. At the

:43:56. > :44:01.moment she has instructions from Debbie McDonald to go for it. She

:44:02. > :44:10.is, currently 81.5 against the current leader on 83, 83.20 five.

:44:11. > :44:19.The current leader is that score from Dorothee Schneider, Showtime.

:44:20. > :44:25.They have set the pattern for the Germans this afternoon, putting in

:44:26. > :44:31.brilliant performances. They are in determined mood. The Americans need

:44:32. > :44:36.a top mark here for the Americans to cling on to the bronze medal. And it

:44:37. > :44:50.will be clinging on because it is very close. She is doing a good job

:44:51. > :44:58.so far. Extensive ground covering. Extensive Trots. This horse looks

:44:59. > :45:03.like it has a really good heart, always trying for her. If they can

:45:04. > :45:12.drop Alison Brock, their first score, otherwise getting a better

:45:13. > :45:23.score them 73.2. Looking to have a score currently over that, then they

:45:24. > :45:27.have a chance. She has to keep her cool, not make a mistake and keep

:45:28. > :45:33.the level of performance up here and then the Americans will have to

:45:34. > :45:39.really fall back to cling onto that bronze medal. I wonder whether he is

:45:40. > :45:46.a little overcome by the atmosphere. She had to be very careful. I think

:45:47. > :45:52.he is quite hot today. He is a sensitive horse and really tries for

:45:53. > :45:57.her. Here we have the piaffe, which I spoke about before, how he makes a

:45:58. > :46:04.lot of active steps. It does not always give you the impression he is

:46:05. > :46:10.sitting. I like it because it is willing. Not classical enough to get

:46:11. > :46:16.really high marks. He had 7.6 average for that, and somebody gave

:46:17. > :46:22.him an eight. He stays fairly on the spot and he stays really winning. I

:46:23. > :46:27.think that is one of my more important things. The horse must be

:46:28. > :46:33.willing and it must be a harmonious picture.

:46:34. > :46:45.Good marks. 8.1. This horse can sometimes appear short in the neck

:46:46. > :46:57.which makes the judge is perhaps not quite give him the highest marks for

:46:58. > :47:05.some of his movements. That was a nice flying change and a very clear

:47:06. > :47:16.changeover. From the half pass right to the left. Good balance and good

:47:17. > :47:17.positioning from Laura. She is another one who has really lovely

:47:18. > :47:31.position. Like Kasey Perry-Glass. Really clear

:47:32. > :47:43.and nice flying changes and lovely ground cover.

:47:44. > :48:01.Laura Graves has dropped back below the 80%, 79.5. She does not want to

:48:02. > :48:09.drop back any more. It is that close. She is doing a good job.

:48:10. > :48:18.Somebody has given nines for one-time changes. Positively riding.

:48:19. > :48:23.A lovely expressive flying change back and extended canter with an

:48:24. > :48:30.average score of eight. April wet. Remember some of the top horses have

:48:31. > :48:42.made mistakes in these and sushi needs to rider carefully for -- and

:48:43. > :48:53.so she needs to ride carefully. She is moving on up there now. 8.4

:48:54. > :49:00.average. A slight loss of control at the end of the pirouette. I think

:49:01. > :49:04.the reason these horses are making a mistake there particularly is the

:49:05. > :49:09.camera is close to the arena and they are almost shying a little bit

:49:10. > :49:17.away from that. They know it is very close. The cool temperament is what

:49:18. > :49:24.is required at this stage of the test from Laura Graves. She has done

:49:25. > :49:32.it well so far, down the final line. Really nice, energetic, active,

:49:33. > :49:43.expressive. And again, on the spot. Nice rhythm. He tries so hard. He

:49:44. > :49:47.really does. And again, nice, willing. Looks like he is just

:49:48. > :49:54.starting the test and not finishing. I should not have said that! Laura

:49:55. > :50:01.Graves completes it for the Americans. We will get the final

:50:02. > :50:06.score. Certainly he has done his best. Now, hold your breath time for

:50:07. > :50:13.the Americans. Those last marks coming through. Will she get to 80%?

:50:14. > :50:17.Just below it at the moment. If she does, I think there is a chance that

:50:18. > :50:33.the Americans will sneak the bronze medal from the Dutch.

:50:34. > :50:36.You have done a terrific job of persuading others. Many thanks.

:50:37. > :50:43.Certainly some very good dressage. Look at the one-time changes. So

:50:44. > :50:50.expressive. Ground covering. This horse was really on form.

:50:51. > :50:59.Well which hadden and well performed by Verdades. No doubt. Now the

:51:00. > :51:05.marks. What have the judges given? They have given 86.30pm 4%. Is that

:51:06. > :51:13.good enough? We think it is. We think America will win the bronze.

:51:14. > :51:23.It certainly looks good enough for the United States of America taking

:51:24. > :51:34.bronze. But the next rider in the ring is Isabell Werth. She is a lady

:51:35. > :51:39.with many medals to her name. Yes, Isabell Werth. This is her

:51:40. > :51:44.fifth Olympic Games. Winning a team gold every time she has ridden. It

:51:45. > :51:47.looks highly likely she will do the same.

:51:48. > :51:52.She has already won two individual golds and two silver medal verse.

:51:53. > :51:58.She has her real test face. I know her. I know her determined test

:51:59. > :52:05.face. I have seen it for many years. She's on to it now.

:52:06. > :52:15.This little shores a lovely, willing mare.

:52:16. > :52:22.Not many mares in the sport but when they are great, they are very good.

:52:23. > :52:28.Not the most expressive of the horses we have seen today. But lots

:52:29. > :52:35.of things to like and of course very, very well ridden by Isabell.

:52:36. > :52:38.I dread to think how many greeks she has ridden in her life.

:52:39. > :52:57.Countless, countless... Look at the activity in the hind

:52:58. > :53:06.legs. Very, very nice. Extended trot. Isabell thoughtfully riding

:53:07. > :53:13.that. She increased and it is the way to do it. So many riders

:53:14. > :53:17.overpush and get the problem where the horse breaks into a canter. Good

:53:18. > :53:25.marks. Good marks for the transitions.

:53:26. > :53:30.Good marks for the pressage. Clear transition into a collected trot and

:53:31. > :53:35.into the half pass. That's a very, very nice half pass. Beautiful

:53:36. > :53:41.positioning. Light, elegant and on her feet.

:53:42. > :53:48.When you think that this time a years ago she had Don Johnson and

:53:49. > :53:56.Bellarosa, both of them incurring problems so she had to turn to the

:53:57. > :54:01.young horse, Weihgold. And only started at this level last December.

:54:02. > :54:11.But this lady is some jockey. She is very, very experienced.

:54:12. > :54:16.She's another rider that will really rise to the bait of it. As soon as

:54:17. > :54:22.there is a challenge she is there challenging.

:54:23. > :54:32.Very nice. Very active. Good use of the hocks, the hind legs.

:54:33. > :54:41.And at the moment they are on an 83. .010 current average score against

:54:42. > :54:47.the leader, Dorothee Schneider on 86. They are all performing to their

:54:48. > :54:53.personal best, the Germans. That is going to win them the Gold Medal.

:54:54. > :55:02.A nice extended walk. Good ground cover and relaxation.

:55:03. > :55:10.Into the collected walk. And the horse is light and obedient.

:55:11. > :55:12.Responsive from Isabell into the piaf.

:55:13. > :55:19.Really nice to see that. No struggling. The horse was ready and

:55:20. > :55:28.waiting. But still waiting for the aides. I have to say I really like

:55:29. > :55:32.this mare's heart. Isabell keeping her relaxed. That

:55:33. > :55:36.snorting where she is blowing her nose, that is a little bit of

:55:37. > :55:40.frustration. She wants to get on with the job. A little bit of

:55:41. > :55:48.attention. Nothing too serious but just there, telling the rider, I

:55:49. > :55:54.have to be very tactful with my aides. Obedient. Easy transition

:55:55. > :56:07.into canter, she made that look easy. 8.8.

:56:08. > :56:10.Such a cool customer, Isabell. Very nice positioning in the half

:56:11. > :56:16.pass. At the start of this Grand Prix

:56:17. > :56:23.special day, Germany had four of the top seven riders. They can only take

:56:24. > :56:25.three through to the freestyle and music, the individual championship

:56:26. > :56:29.on Monday. The individual Olympic title.

:56:30. > :56:38.I think it will be the young 21-year-old that will miss out.

:56:39. > :56:43.Sonke Rothenberger. They have all gone so well.

:56:44. > :56:53.Moving on to the two-time flying changes.

:56:54. > :56:59.It could be a little bit straighter. It is obviously aides from Isabell.

:57:00. > :57:04.OK, so when we she's doing the flying changes, you can see her legs

:57:05. > :57:09.really moving quite a lot as she is asking not so much in the one-time

:57:10. > :57:15.change but the two-time changes. There is a lot of organising with

:57:16. > :57:20.the contact in her upper body there. So she's not going to be penalised

:57:21. > :57:24.for that. Obviously the smaller, quieter aides are better.

:57:25. > :57:35.It is just that overall picture, isn't it? It is.

:57:36. > :57:44.Again, we are wanting to see riders riding with quiet Aides. Like they

:57:45. > :57:50.are almost whispering to the horse what they want them to do. You don't

:57:51. > :58:00.want to see shouting aides, where they are shouting at the horse. A

:58:01. > :58:09.really nice pirouette. Clear. One-time flying changes. 8.5

:58:10. > :58:17.for that first pirouette. 8.3 for the one-time changes.

:58:18. > :58:28.Again, very, very controlled on the way out. She was very clever with

:58:29. > :58:33.the last pirouette. The extended trot lacks pushing from

:58:34. > :58:37.behind hind and carrying. That would be the weakest, of

:58:38. > :58:50.anything in the test but still very nice.

:58:51. > :58:56.Now to the final pressage. Loose, elastic and active behind.

:58:57. > :59:02.Into a nice transition. Into the piaf.

:59:03. > :59:10.Really on the spot. As she comes up to the final line,

:59:11. > :59:19.she has currently gone ahead of the score with the leader Dorothee

:59:20. > :59:29.Schneider. This is going to be a very good day for Germany. Has it

:59:30. > :59:33.nailed the gold? They have really perform sod very well in the last

:59:34. > :59:37.session. As you can see, the fans they think

:59:38. > :59:43.they've got gold. They could be right.

:59:44. > :59:50.I think it is really interesting. She really rises to the occasion.

:59:51. > :00:00.Why she is such a top rider. So, one to go. That is Charlotte

:00:01. > :00:04.dejarredin. The brilliant Isabell Werth of

:00:05. > :00:09.Germany, looking like she has done enough to win it back for Germany.
