:01:18. > :01:23.Good afternoon, welcome to a very busy Olympic Park. Once again it is

:01:23. > :01:31.busy with members of the public getting a real sense of the Games,

:01:31. > :01:35.and British athletes doing exactly the same thing. Still no gold medal

:01:35. > :01:42.for Britain, but the silver lining in the equestrian - could there be

:01:42. > :01:49.individual gold this afternoon? In the pool, Jemma Lowe reached the

:01:49. > :01:59.200m butterfly semi-final, but Ellen Gandy is out. Michael

:01:59. > :01:59.

:01:59. > :02:09.Jamieson and Alan Willis progress to the 200m breaststroke final. And

:02:09. > :02:22.

:02:22. > :02:24.Disappointment in the archery for Naomi Folkard. I suppose we could

:02:24. > :02:34.Naomi Folkard. I suppose we could describe that as a mixed morning.

:02:34. > :02:43.

:02:43. > :02:49.This is what the medal table looks United States are still locked at

:02:49. > :02:53.17 medals apiece. The Chinese have 17 medals apiece. The Chinese have

:02:53. > :02:58.nine golds to the United States' five so far. We have a very busy

:02:58. > :03:06.afternoon, including the tantalising conclusion of the canoe

:03:06. > :03:10.slalom. Stay where you are for that, however the result in front of many

:03:10. > :03:18.fans in Greenwich Park is the story of the day, particularly for Zara

:03:18. > :03:25.Phillips. This is 40 years after her father won gold in the Munich

:03:25. > :03:29.Games. In this case, gold went to the impressive German team, and

:03:29. > :03:35.Tina Cook going clear was the performance that secured the silver

:03:35. > :03:45.medal. Mary King also had a flawless run, and afterwards they

:03:45. > :03:45.

:03:45. > :03:49.spoke to us. Members of the royal family were in the crowd, it was

:03:49. > :03:54.extraordinary to watch. This is what they have to say.

:03:54. > :03:59.The you coped magnificently. These are the things you think about, and

:03:59. > :04:04.you think it won't happen to me. The team have done so well and it

:04:04. > :04:09.was so close. We could have got silver or nothing, and that would

:04:09. > :04:14.have been awful. Gold would have been brilliant, silver was

:04:14. > :04:20.fantastic. Was that the most important round of jumping in your

:04:20. > :04:26.whole career? I suppose it must have been. I have been fortunate

:04:26. > :04:31.enough to do a few over the years, but this wasn't front of the home

:04:31. > :04:39.crowd and they were so supportive. We know it comes to this and the

:04:39. > :04:44.crowd, they were unbelievable. I got a penalty which has dropped any

:04:44. > :04:49.an individual place. I have got to try to do better and get an

:04:49. > :04:55.individual medal, that is what I really want. Will it be hard to

:04:55. > :05:01.focus? No, we are very much on the Bolton, get in there and see what

:05:01. > :05:06.they build us. He you can find a Union Jack flag for sale somewhere

:05:06. > :05:12.in East London, you will do very well, because it looks like they

:05:12. > :05:17.are all in Greenwich Park. Give us some kind of idea of the atmosphere

:05:17. > :05:22.as it was for you. It was extremely tense.

:05:22. > :05:27.It is very quiet when the dressage takes place, also very quiet when

:05:27. > :05:32.the showjumping takes place, but every time a British rider jumped

:05:32. > :05:39.the fence out there today, there were tens of thousands of clicks,

:05:39. > :05:45.then it went quiet, then tens of thousands of clicks again. Every

:05:45. > :05:49.time they rattled the bar, you could hear a pin drop. Tina Cook

:05:49. > :05:55.had a big job on her hands when she went out last for Great Britain,

:05:55. > :06:00.knowing she had to be within the time to make sure Great Britain won

:06:00. > :06:05.the silver medal. Obviously today is the Davy Medal

:06:05. > :06:10.is won, but it is three days of hard graft. Your interview with

:06:10. > :06:16.Zara Phillips is fascinating because I think she thought she had

:06:16. > :06:21.cost Great Britain a medal. Yes, when she came out into the arena

:06:21. > :06:26.she had a big smile on her face. I said that to her, and she didn't

:06:26. > :06:31.even know that because she was so caught up in the moment.

:06:31. > :06:36.Unfortunately she had the post box down very early on, and I think she

:06:36. > :06:40.thought that would have cost us the chance of winning the gold medal,

:06:40. > :06:45.which in a sense it did, but we lost that earlier in the

:06:45. > :06:52.competition. She held her nerve to go on and do it because it is very

:06:52. > :06:57.easy when you make a mistake to let your guard down. The horse can feel

:06:57. > :07:00.your confidence, and she and High Kingdom went clear for the rest of

:07:00. > :07:06.the round, and in the end she was part of an excellent team

:07:06. > :07:13.performance. It is definitely worth focusing on the performances of

:07:13. > :07:18.Tina Cook and Mary King, and their consistency over the last away-days.

:07:18. > :07:22.First of four, Mary King is 51, appearing at her sixth Olympic

:07:22. > :07:27.Games, and she said this was perhaps the toughest showjumping

:07:27. > :07:32.test she had done in her whole life. Her horse yesterday, Imperial

:07:33. > :07:37.Cavalier, was superbly on the cross-country course. It is a tight

:07:37. > :07:41.course, and perhaps it would not have suited him because physically

:07:41. > :07:48.he is a very big horse, but she was able to cope with the tension once

:07:48. > :07:53.again. She is experienced enough. As for Tina Cook, she has had a

:07:53. > :07:58.difficult year. Her horse Miners Frolic nearly died a year ago, but

:07:58. > :08:05.somehow she got him together, back competing, and he has been

:08:05. > :08:11.brilliant. She has obviously got the individual to come. Personally

:08:11. > :08:15.for Tina, she lost her father, the trainer who was responsible for a

:08:15. > :08:20.horse that won the Grand National in 1981 and there is that

:08:20. > :08:25.correlation between that horse, who was retired and many people thought

:08:25. > :08:31.he wouldn't make it, but he was brought back to the Grand National

:08:31. > :08:35.by her father, and she has done something similar with her horse,

:08:35. > :08:40.Miners Frolic. Bid for we let you go, we will be back with you very

:08:40. > :08:45.soon when they go for their individual medals, and it is worth

:08:45. > :08:51.pointing out how close it is at the front - just one fence between the

:08:51. > :08:57.top four. Currently Sweden in the top four. Currently Sweden in the

:08:57. > :09:03.lead, Germany's second, then Mary King in third place and Tina Cook

:09:03. > :09:09.in fourth place. Should they go clear, and Sarah and Michael have

:09:09. > :09:13.offence go down, we could be talking about gold and silver.

:09:13. > :09:17.Don't go anywhere, get your Union Don't go anywhere, get your Union

:09:17. > :09:25.Jack out and you can be waving that later. It is always worth reminding

:09:25. > :09:32.you that all the sports you can see thorough available via the red

:09:32. > :09:38.button and the website. Later on BBC Three Tonia Couch and Sarah

:09:38. > :09:44.Barrow look to go one better than the boys yesterday in the diving.

:09:44. > :09:48.Meanwhile, on BBC One, time to head 15 miles north of here to Lee

:09:48. > :09:54.Valley and the canoe slalom. Britain's David Florence just

:09:54. > :09:59.scraped into the semi-final today. Sadly he hit a gate managing sixth

:09:59. > :10:09.place so we can now join it towards the end of the semi-final and

:10:09. > :10:19.

:10:19. > :10:24.David's place in the semi-final the Olympics in Beijing, but since

:10:24. > :10:34.then he has improved - got a silver medal at the Asian Games, and on

:10:34. > :10:41.

:10:42. > :10:49.that occasion he finished behind Teng of China. Looking pretty good

:10:49. > :10:58.at the moment, takes on the spin in gate turn. He has to drive on the

:10:58. > :11:08.canoe, and then slides into 13. Pushing the about right under the

:11:08. > :11:25.

:11:25. > :11:31.poles. -- the bow. Tight into 16, the Japanese No. 1. Again, this is

:11:31. > :11:36.bad news for David Florence and Great Britain. Three gates to go.

:11:36. > :11:41.Just getting into a bit of trouble coming through 20, and that has

:11:41. > :11:49.really slowed him down coming through 21. A little bit sideways,

:11:49. > :11:55.and again losing speed. To yes, caught himself in the stopper and

:11:55. > :12:00.have to accelerate the canoe once again. This is bad news for David

:12:00. > :12:08.Florence, but good news for the Japanese, and plenty of support for

:12:08. > :12:13.him. Actually fourth quickest so that was a big surprise. Just two

:12:13. > :12:17.more to go, and at the moment David Florence is in eighth place, and at

:12:17. > :12:21.this stage you have to be a little bit pessimistic and say David

:12:21. > :12:27.Florence will not make it through to his second consecutive Olympic

:12:27. > :12:33.final. It is a big ask when you have the champion himself from 2000

:12:33. > :12:43.date, Michal Martikan, to come down the course. It will be one of the

:12:43. > :12:54.

:12:54. > :13:02.most difficult places to sit in, as Michal Martikan, former double

:13:02. > :13:07.Olympic champion, had his second and final run, so the Slovenian was

:13:07. > :13:16.relegated to second place, but he was a class act. Savsek of Slovenia,

:13:16. > :13:23.bronze medal at this year's championships. A good start.

:13:23. > :13:32.just needs to make sure he doesn't take too many hard hits through

:13:32. > :13:41.these stoppers. They want to keep their nose as dry as possible.

:13:41. > :13:51.Slightly up on the split, now pushing out on to the wave and

:13:51. > :14:01.

:14:01. > :14:09.going for the spin, as we have seen going through 11, but very

:14:09. > :14:15.satisfactory in terms of his form so far. Typed out of 16, pushing

:14:15. > :14:21.hard across the river before he turns it round. He is getting in

:14:21. > :14:31.fractions of time down this course. Another spin, but nicely controlled.

:14:31. > :14:37.

:14:37. > :14:47.Don't want to see him slip out to twenty-one and out as a hard as

:14:47. > :14:48.

:14:48. > :14:54.possible. No problem into the final, and that means unfortunately that

:14:54. > :14:57.David Florence is out of this the Olympic competition. Massive

:14:57. > :15:05.disappointment for the British supporters. They will realise that

:15:05. > :15:10.now. They have seen the giant scoreboard, so no medals for Great

:15:10. > :15:15.Britain on this first day of finals at the Lee Valley Whitewater Centre.

:15:15. > :15:19.How will that affect the British team, Helen? It will be a big

:15:19. > :15:25.disappointment. We would have expected to see David in the final,

:15:25. > :15:31.he would have expected to see himself in the final. He picked up

:15:31. > :15:36.some penalties and didn't quite seem to find his rhythm. Sometimes

:15:36. > :15:45.when you have to put in the extra strength, you don't get the

:15:45. > :15:52.smoothness and the run on the boat. The tremendous run by Savsek. The

:15:52. > :15:59.German still holds on to the lead, but can't be taken away by this

:15:59. > :16:05.man? We can safely say he is the best paddler we have seen, in terms

:16:05. > :16:11.of the Olympic Games anyway. A double Olympic champion, always

:16:11. > :16:21.favours the red boat. Martikan, we saw his first run in the heat and

:16:21. > :16:25.

:16:25. > :16:31.he totally messed it up, but then champion here, he messed up his

:16:31. > :16:38.first heat run. His we had to wait until his second he until we could

:16:38. > :16:48.find out what was good about his C1 pattern. Go we see how we is down

:16:48. > :17:01.

:17:01. > :17:11.wave. Now into 13. He has got to drive back before he sets up the

:17:11. > :17:18.

:17:18. > :17:27.that is for sure. Heading towards 17. The precision through the

:17:27. > :17:31.uprights, there. He spins him away and across to the fast-moving water

:17:31. > :17:38.gets to upstream. They go glided through 18 backwards but then he

:17:38. > :17:44.dropped low. He needs to make sure he keeps his composure. Gather he

:17:44. > :17:54.lines up the canoe so he can make this and to the finish. He he's

:17:54. > :18:17.

:18:17. > :18:27.going to make the final but he is Florence, and a chance of a repeat

:18:27. > :18:33.

:18:33. > :18:39.performance of four years ago in medal behind this man, Michal

:18:39. > :18:43.Martikan. He got caught at the first gate, but we saw in the heats

:18:43. > :18:48.he didn't get off to a good start either, but then he blew the field

:18:48. > :18:54.away with a super performance. It will be interesting to see what

:18:54. > :18:59.happens this afternoon, but David Florence will be gutted to miss out

:18:59. > :19:09.on the final. We just got a glimpse of some of the British paddlers

:19:09. > :19:15.

:19:15. > :19:18.walking away, looking a bit disconsolate. The Australian came

:19:18. > :19:23.here ranked 40 plus in the world and has made it through to the

:19:23. > :19:33.Olympic final. A great performance by the Australian, and David

:19:33. > :19:37.Absolutely gutted for you, your reaction to what has happened.

:19:37. > :19:42.Obviously, very disappointed. Didn't really go my way. Not quite

:19:42. > :19:47.sure what happened. It wasn't good enough today. Sometimes that is the

:19:47. > :19:51.way of the sport. I know it is an on the day sport. Do you think the

:19:51. > :19:57.pressure of being in front of have massive home crowd, the place where

:19:57. > :20:02.you train day-in and day-out, did that contribute? It is hard to say

:20:02. > :20:10.exactly what went wrong. I don't think so. We do a lot of races

:20:10. > :20:15.every year. I have finished first, second, 9th, 25th. And here, not

:20:15. > :20:21.good enough. It is up and down. This was the race I wanted to

:20:21. > :20:26.perform at, and I haven't. Yeah, a huge disappointment. Sorry for all

:20:26. > :20:32.the people who have supported me in the last four years. Yeah, I gave

:20:32. > :20:35.it I all today, obviously. I didn't set out to put out a bad run. I

:20:35. > :20:41.will have to refocus, I have a couple of days before the sea to,

:20:41. > :20:46.really try to pick things up then. Was there one particular place

:20:46. > :20:50.where you felt you lost it? really. I just wasn't really fast

:20:50. > :20:55.enough the whole way down, to be honest. There was nothing that went

:20:55. > :21:01.really wrong, just nothing that ran particularly quickly either. Really

:21:01. > :21:06.sorry for what happened, but get ready for the sea to with Richard

:21:06. > :21:13.Hounslow and thanks for speaking to Only 48 hours until he is back on

:21:13. > :21:17.the water. Jonathan Davies is at Lee Valley, it is fair to say that

:21:17. > :21:20.he is shell-shock. Absolutely shell-shocked, I don't think he

:21:20. > :21:25.could believe what has happened. He lives close by and has been

:21:25. > :21:28.training here for 18 months. He has probably imagines the semi-final a

:21:28. > :21:32.million times over, and it never won't like that in his dreams at

:21:32. > :21:41.all. He didn't really have an answer -- it's never won't like

:21:41. > :21:44.High go I wonder if it is the expectation. It is hard to train

:21:44. > :21:48.somewhere and then see it transformed into an Olympic venue,

:21:48. > :21:58.and to cope with that different frame of reference that you have.

:21:58. > :22:01.

:22:01. > :22:09.He did not turn up today. He was ranked number one in the world.

:22:09. > :22:14.What is it like when you are number one in the world. He had eight

:22:15. > :22:20.silver medal in Beijing, it seemed so set up. I can only say it is

:22:20. > :22:25.pressure. When I came off the track as an athlete, you don't feel like

:22:25. > :22:29.a pressure got to you, you just don't have an answer. In 1992 in

:22:29. > :22:33.Barcelona I was in great shape, went through my qualifying round,

:22:33. > :22:37.jumped horrendously. It was almost as if it had gone like that and I

:22:37. > :22:41.didn't know what happened. I think it was pressure and expectation, it

:22:41. > :22:46.becomes too much and you just perform way below your best but you

:22:46. > :22:52.don't have an answer. If you can, take us into the mind of an elite

:22:52. > :22:57.athlete. In 48 hours he has to go again, with Richard Hounslow in the

:22:57. > :23:01.second class. How difficult is it to go back and find a performance

:23:01. > :23:06.that was missing? He will be very hard, I don't think you'll sleep a

:23:06. > :23:10.wink for two nights. Get back on the water -- I don't think he will

:23:10. > :23:14.sleep. He will talk to his friends and family and his sports

:23:14. > :23:19.psychologist. Paddling with Richard Hounslow will help, he is not there

:23:19. > :23:23.on his own. Richard goes tomorrow in the final of the K one. I don't

:23:23. > :23:25.think we should have expectations of Richard getting a medal.

:23:25. > :23:30.Hopefully Richard can lift him up and that is what team-mates should

:23:30. > :23:34.do. Get hold of your hand, give you a hug and make sure he is right for

:23:34. > :23:39.two days time. We hope to see a smile on your face in a couple of

:23:39. > :23:43.days' time. Thank you. It goes to show the drama and

:23:43. > :23:48.emotion of the Olympic Games. Two miles south of here we have seen

:23:48. > :23:53.wonderful celebrations for Great Britain. 50 miles north at Lee

:23:53. > :23:57.Valley, real devastation for David. From the south to the north, to the

:23:57. > :24:02.south-west, let's head to Portland. Shirley Robertson is there for us,

:24:02. > :24:06.you are out on the water, lovely to see where you belong, yesterday it

:24:07. > :24:12.was fair to say it was a pretty mixed day for our sailors, what is

:24:12. > :24:17.the latest today? Probably next again. The man of the matches in

:24:17. > :24:23.the Star class, returning gold- medallist from Beijing, Iain Percy

:24:23. > :24:30.and Andrew Simpson. They led the first race by a very long way.

:24:30. > :24:40.Trailing behind, they predicted opponent from Brazil. Mixed

:24:40. > :24:41.

:24:41. > :24:46.fortunes on the British camp in the 4-9 at last. An average day

:24:46. > :24:50.yesterday. We are out here watching Ben Ainslie racing. In the first

:24:50. > :24:54.race he finished 4th. More importantly, the man who was in

:24:55. > :25:00.front of him was from Denmark, he has beaten them in every single

:25:00. > :25:03.race. We are watching his 6th race now, and he is ahead of the Dane,

:25:03. > :25:07.and he needs to start to begin to limit the points difference in this

:25:07. > :25:11.series, or otherwise it will be getting worrying. It is developing

:25:11. > :25:15.into quite a nice battle between the two of them. It is a real

:25:15. > :25:20.battle and perhaps slightly unexpected. Everyone assumed the

:25:20. > :25:23.gold medal was in Ben Ainslie's pocket and he wouldn't have any

:25:23. > :25:30.major opposition, but that has not been the case. Jonas has been

:25:30. > :25:35.really strong upwind and down when, he has been fast and sailing smart.

:25:35. > :25:39.The -- and downwind. He was over the line at the start, he started

:25:39. > :25:44.way too early and had to restart behind the entire fleet. He has got

:25:44. > :25:47.up to about fizz and he is one place behind Ben Ainslie. You are

:25:47. > :25:51.bobbing up and down a little more than normal, it looks incredibly

:25:51. > :25:55.choppy, what are the conditions like? I bet it is nice and

:25:55. > :26:00.comfortable in the studio. It is pretty hard work, it is very choppy

:26:00. > :26:06.and windy and there is lots of tide. We have had great success in the

:26:07. > :26:13.Laser radial class, which is the women's single-handed. Alison Young

:26:13. > :26:19.was selected rate -- late into the team. She is currently racing her

:26:19. > :26:24.second race of the day. Leading that race, Annelise Murphy of the

:26:24. > :26:27.island, who has won all of the races so far, so an impressive

:26:27. > :26:31.performance from Ireland. Congratulations to them. The

:26:31. > :26:35.weather is not putting off the fans? I don't know if there are

:26:35. > :26:41.many people on the beach! They are pretty hard core, the British, you

:26:41. > :26:45.never know. The thank you very much. It is nice and warm in the studio

:26:51. > :26:56.We will tell you what else you can see from the Olympic Games courtesy

:26:56. > :27:00.of the BBC this afternoon. Plenty of action across London. If you

:27:00. > :27:09.would like to check in with the tennis, you can do that. Andy

:27:09. > :27:17.Murray and Marconi men and are playing each other. This is live on

:27:17. > :27:26.BBC Three. Andy is in trouble. He is looking strong in that set, 5-2

:27:41. > :27:46.If handball is your game, Great Britain are in action in the Copper

:27:46. > :27:51.Box. They are playing Sweden, it is handshakes at the moment. It won't

:27:51. > :28:01.be handshakes for too long, it is fast and furious. Sweden were if

:28:01. > :28:04.

:28:04. > :28:10.The action is far from over in Greenwich from what we saw this

:28:10. > :28:16.morning, it has been a hugely popular venue. Individual efforts

:28:16. > :28:26.in Greg -- in getting Team GB to the final have sealed individual

:28:26. > :28:31.

:28:31. > :28:37.the final have sealed individual it will be a full arena again. The

:28:37. > :28:44.top 25 individuals, after the completion of the team medals. We

:28:44. > :28:51.are climbing to the top and the marks get very close indeed. There

:28:51. > :28:56.are only three fences for the last 15, 16 competitors. That is nothing.

:28:56. > :29:03.It is not such a difficult course, it is bigger, not so many defences.

:29:03. > :29:09.But remember, this is the second show jumping round. It is after the

:29:09. > :29:15.rigours of yesterday's cross country. He have been around a

:29:15. > :29:19.course. Take us around. -- you have been around the course. It is a

:29:19. > :29:26.bigger track, it is not so long as this morning. There are fewer

:29:26. > :29:31.offences but they are all at the maximum. One-litre 30 high -- fewer

:29:32. > :29:41.offences. One-litre 35. They are able to go wider with the parallel

:29:42. > :29:54.

:29:54. > :30:01.bars. The first fence is one-litre with a bang. There could be seven

:30:01. > :30:07.or eight strides, another vertical to an oxer, a 360 turn it back to

:30:07. > :30:14.the wide parallel bars, six strides to the planks. The white flags are

:30:14. > :30:20.really difficult to see, they blend into the fencing around the arena.

:30:20. > :30:24.They double back to the Stonehenge combination at eight. That is two

:30:24. > :30:31.strides, then there is a short eight and a bending line it to

:30:31. > :30:41.number nine. A huge white boxer as the final fence. Ferry testing --

:30:41. > :30:47.

:30:47. > :30:54.Mark has done a lot of show jumping and it has benefited the cross-

:30:54. > :30:59.country and the showjumping rounds he has had. He represented Ireland

:30:59. > :31:04.in the World Equestrian Games two years ago. This is a new ride for

:31:04. > :31:14.him at this level. He had four in the first round this morning and

:31:14. > :31:33.

:31:33. > :31:43.comes in with the score of 71.9 it was this morning. Very good over

:31:43. > :31:53.

:31:53. > :32:01.the vertical. Ins a densely, time and gnarled in this round -- time

:32:01. > :32:09.allowed, 58 seconds and he is just over. I thought it might be easier,

:32:09. > :32:14.but I don't think it is. That is for the first individual round. We

:32:14. > :32:19.are jumping in reverse order of their placings after the show

:32:19. > :32:26.jumping round this morning. I do think it will be possible to do the

:32:26. > :32:36.time. It is not as twisty as this morning - they can keep travelling

:32:36. > :32:47.

:32:47. > :32:53.on this course. You can see he rubbed the pole. Jessica Phoenix,

:32:53. > :33:03.14th in the round this morning, had a couple of time faults. In that,

:33:03. > :33:08.

:33:08. > :33:16.71.2. Lying in 24th place. The situation here, just to remind you,

:33:16. > :33:20.there is only a maximum of three individuals per nation. Some, for

:33:20. > :33:30.instance like William Fox-Pitt, who was within the top 25 scores, but

:33:30. > :33:33.

:33:33. > :33:43.not possible for him to come in because he was rider number for --

:33:43. > :33:43.

:33:43. > :33:46.number four. This is the only competition in which they have to

:33:46. > :33:56.ride two showjumping rounds after the cross-country, so they are not

:33:56. > :33:58.

:33:58. > :34:08.always used to it. These bigger fences are working out better for

:34:08. > :34:24.

:34:24. > :34:34.Jessica. He is certainly trying. Again, over the time. That time

:34:34. > :34:37.

:34:37. > :34:43.faults to add as well for exponential, so 13 in all. 81.20

:34:43. > :34:48.the final score with everything added. That is Jessica Phoenix for

:34:48. > :34:54.Canada, the only Canadian that has got through to the final round. It

:34:54. > :34:59.is certainly a round that has provided, since it came in in 2004,

:34:59. > :35:09.the first time this formula came forward and it has certainly

:35:09. > :35:29.

:35:29. > :35:39.hasn't had the good fortune in this Olympics. They won the team gold

:35:39. > :35:40.

:35:40. > :35:50.for years ago, and France have got two riders through. Another big

:35:50. > :35:55.

:35:55. > :36:02.horse with a big jump, a slightly slow Jonk. -- jump. This more open

:36:02. > :36:12.track should suit him. The plank doors rather blend into the

:36:12. > :36:25.

:36:25. > :36:32.jumped into that combination not really travelling enough. He has

:36:32. > :36:37.been jumping rather slowly. Landed a bit short, and ended on the third

:36:37. > :36:47.stride, and there is no way the horse could get out of that. It had

:36:47. > :36:55.

:36:55. > :37:05.no real chance put a stop at the difference to his final time. A

:37:05. > :37:07.

:37:07. > :37:17.total of 23. He got a penalty for the refusal, a penalty for the

:37:17. > :37:21.

:37:21. > :37:27.knock-down, and for the time. can see the horse knocked the pole

:37:27. > :37:37.out with his chest, and then he couldn't get his feet out properly

:37:37. > :37:38.

:37:38. > :37:48.so have no choice but to stop at the final element. The other French

:37:48. > :37:57.

:37:57. > :38:07.rider will come later, but this is Phillip Dutton, who had 23 in the

:38:07. > :38:08.

:38:08. > :38:12.showjumping round this morning. Only just managed to get in. He was

:38:12. > :38:19.a twice Olympic gold medallist in Australia. His life based in

:38:19. > :38:24.Pennsylvania with a big training yard. You mentioned earlier, Ian,

:38:24. > :38:28.about the tail carriage of this horse. It is very unusual.

:38:28. > :38:35.Sometimes a horse with Arab breeding can carry its tail high

:38:35. > :38:41.behind him, but it is an unusual sight for his tale to be sticking

:38:41. > :38:51.up like that, and I wondered if it had damaged its tail or if it was

:38:51. > :38:55.

:38:56. > :39:01.part of its breeding. He had that surprise stopped in the first round.

:39:01. > :39:07.He is not stopping here, but a relatively new ride for Philip so

:39:07. > :39:12.they will still be getting to know each other. Some good victories on

:39:12. > :39:22.the American circuit, but they have not shown to their very best here

:39:22. > :39:24.

:39:24. > :39:29.so Phillip Dutton, 83. 10th is his final score. That is one of the

:39:29. > :39:39.surprises of this Olympic Games. He was very much fancied to beat a

:39:39. > :39:41.

:39:41. > :39:51.gold -- an Olympic medal contender. You can't really blame the horse

:39:51. > :39:56.

:39:56. > :40:04.for that. This is one of two individuals who have come from

:40:04. > :40:09.Italy. Stefano was very much at the head of affairs, led the dressage

:40:09. > :40:15.foreign while, but then ended in third place. Yesterday ended up

:40:16. > :40:22.with quite a few time faults. The horse got a little bit tired, and

:40:22. > :40:31.in the first round again showed a lot of capabilities, really gave

:40:31. > :40:41.some big jumps and only have one down. Didn't really look as

:40:41. > :40:43.

:40:43. > :40:49.convincing as perhaps he might. He has just learnt that the time

:40:49. > :40:54.allowed has been changed to 60 seconds, which is exactly what the

:40:54. > :41:04.grand jury can do. They can't just the time if they feel it is a

:41:04. > :41:10.

:41:10. > :41:15.little bit too fast. -- they can adjust the time. The other news is

:41:15. > :41:20.that Ingrid Klimke has withdrawn from this round. I don't think she

:41:20. > :41:25.would enjoy coming back and having more fences down, particularly when

:41:25. > :41:35.the horse has given its best. It dropped out of contention this

:41:35. > :42:04.

:42:04. > :42:10.morning, had two down. A Belgian reverse order of merit. Tina Cook

:42:10. > :42:19.is in fourth place, and Mary King with Imperial Cavalier lying in

:42:19. > :42:24.bronze medal position, less than a fence behind the lead. The lead

:42:24. > :42:34.that is currently held by Sara Algotsson Ostholt, with Michael

:42:34. > :42:46.

:42:46. > :42:51.Jung behind. Two down for the leading Italian rider. He goes on

:42:51. > :43:01.to 69. Turn. A reminder that the time has been changed, so a time

:43:01. > :43:02.

:43:02. > :43:10.fault has been taken off a number of the competitors. Actually it

:43:10. > :43:16.means that the Irish competitor is the only one inside the time even

:43:16. > :43:21.with that alteration to the time allowed. Now Joseph Murphy. Very

:43:21. > :43:29.much get the impression he has loved these Olympic Games. He has

:43:29. > :43:39.certainly produced some very good results. A double clear round this

:43:39. > :43:41.

:43:41. > :43:49.morning, 13 of those, clear jumping and inside the time. This course

:43:49. > :43:54.really provided an excellent final phase test. There is absolutely no

:43:55. > :44:00.doubt, Ian, you have seen the sport for many years from both sides of

:44:00. > :44:10.the fence, this technical ability of the show jumping now is a much

:44:10. > :44:11.

:44:11. > :44:16.bigger factor than it was 10 years all recognition. The standard is so

:44:16. > :44:20.high. Electric Cruise jumped a fantastic round this morning and it

:44:20. > :44:26.looks like another fantastic round this afternoon. He has been

:44:26. > :44:31.incredibly consistent. He certainly has. Ireland have come out of these

:44:31. > :44:39.Games very well indeed. He has jumped two double clear rounds and

:44:39. > :44:47.you can't do better than that. He could well climb higher. So well

:44:47. > :44:53.done. Had a word with Ginny Elliot over the break between the two rows

:44:54. > :44:59.and I said, well done, you must be pleased with his position. --

:44:59. > :45:04.between the two rounds. She said no, I wanted a bronze. But Ireland have

:45:04. > :45:10.done very well indeed. He has done himself no harm on the

:45:10. > :45:16.international stage. No, he has done a great job. I should think

:45:16. > :45:22.for the future of the Irish team, we will be using him more and more.

:45:22. > :45:28.The horse looks amazing, looks in great condition. Has performed to

:45:28. > :45:34.his best. Andrew Hoy, based in Great Britain, ever since 1978,

:45:34. > :45:42.either in Britain or in Europe on the mainland. He with this young 9-

:45:42. > :45:47.year-old, on a score 57.3. He had eight in this morning's round, two

:45:47. > :45:56.fences down. It is a young horse that is improving, competition by

:45:56. > :46:04.competition. Impressive yesterday. Andrew, remember, a three-time

:46:04. > :46:12.Olympic champion. 92, 96 and 2000, when Australia won those three gold

:46:12. > :46:20.medals on the trot. In Sydney he won the individual silver as well.

:46:20. > :46:24.The I think that the fewer jumps and the easier it turns has

:46:24. > :46:31.certainly helped Andrew's was this afternoon. Fantastic Clear round

:46:31. > :46:36.and well inside the time -- Andrew's horse. He is a man who

:46:36. > :46:41.wants to complete eight Olympic Games, this is his 7th and his

:46:41. > :46:48.horse could easily take into the eighth. A great round. He stays. On

:46:48. > :46:58.the same score. And we are going in reverse order of merit. And the

:46:58. > :46:59.

:46:59. > :47:05.pressure is building. As the Australians celebrate, they haven't

:47:05. > :47:09.had a lot to celebrate but certainly, Andrew Hoy has more than

:47:09. > :47:17.kept up his end. He was quite a late selection. But he has

:47:17. > :47:27.certainly proved it was a good one. Now France, and Nicolas Touzaint,

:47:27. > :47:28.

:47:28. > :47:33.Hildago de L'Ile. A score of 57.2, is the best of the French. Just

:47:33. > :47:41.before he starts, let's remind you how close it is at the top. There

:47:41. > :47:47.is no Ingrid Klimke, but Sarah Algotsson Ostholt, a brilliant

:47:47. > :47:54.clear round this morning on Wega. Just over a mark ahead of Michael

:47:54. > :48:04.Jung, the world and European champion on stamp. Mary King, on

:48:04. > :48:06.

:48:06. > :48:13.42.1. And Tina Cook, all within one fence. Now Nicolas Touzaint. He has

:48:13. > :48:20.already had one down this morning and it already another one gone. It

:48:20. > :48:27.is not easy to keeping careful. Nicolas Touzaint -- to keep him

:48:27. > :48:35.careful. Nicolas Touzaint, one of the world's top riders. The horses

:48:35. > :48:42.have got to want to leave these jumps up. Taking chances, there!

:48:42. > :48:52.Slightly guessing at the jumps. Prices for home, but he is over the

:48:52. > :49:03.

:49:03. > :49:13.didn't do it in Hong Kong because his horse went wrong before the

:49:13. > :49:13.

:49:13. > :49:19.competition started. Whereas four years before that, he went into the

:49:19. > :49:24.final round he just like this, leading and on for a gold. It all

:49:24. > :49:32.fell apart and he didn't win any individual medal at all. Now Niklas

:49:32. > :49:40.Lindback. Sweden finished 4th in the team, with Mister Pooh. Niklas

:49:40. > :49:50.Lindback didn't have the round he really wanted. He had a couple of

:49:50. > :50:16.

:50:16. > :50:21.fences down. Mister Pooh, on a tighter lines into these offences.

:50:21. > :50:29.-- of these offences. Just fighting all the way down that line, it was

:50:29. > :50:39.never settled. -- these fences. They have got to be in balance and

:50:39. > :50:41.

:50:41. > :50:47.able to use their head and neck. He 5th at Badminton, but it hasn't

:50:47. > :50:57.been the case here, and he has gone over the time allowed. Those

:50:57. > :51:07.seconds added haven't made too much difference at the moment. He is on

:51:07. > :51:31.

:51:31. > :51:41.British, will be coming in three the ring is Karin Donckers. The

:51:41. > :51:41.

:51:41. > :51:49.very experienced Belgian rider. Gazelle de la Brasserie, 55.6. She

:51:49. > :51:56.is at the moment in 16th place. But those clear rounds of Joe Murphy

:51:56. > :52:03.and Andrew Hoy have already got those horses on the rise. The Clear

:52:03. > :52:13.rounds in the end of what is required to put you near to the top

:52:13. > :52:15.

:52:15. > :52:25.of the leaderboard. This mare did have her faults this morning, but

:52:25. > :52:26.

:52:26. > :52:36.she is normally very careful in the show jumping. Accelerating around

:52:36. > :52:40.

:52:40. > :52:46.trying to steady the mare, she knew she had gone a bit bold, just

:52:46. > :52:56.couldn't shorten in the middle. time penalties and a fence down,

:52:56. > :52:59.that completes the round for STUDIO: We will return to Greenwich

:52:59. > :53:03.very shortly. Just to bring you up to date with everything else that

:53:03. > :53:10.is happening. Andy Murray and Jarkko Nieminen are playing at

:53:10. > :53:17.Wimbledon. That is on BBC Three. Following on from that, it is the

:53:17. > :53:22.women's ten-metre synchro platform. If you would like to press the red

:53:22. > :53:29.button, the British number one Badminton player will be in action.

:53:29. > :53:33.You just need to press red and see what is going on. And in the Copper

:53:33. > :53:40.Box, Great Britain looking to bounce back from their opening

:53:40. > :53:50.defeat. Plenty of live sport. Zara Phillips is up shortly in the

:53:50. > :53:53.

:53:53. > :54:03.Victoria Panizzon with Borough Pennyz. -- Italy's the Victoria

:54:03. > :54:11.

:54:11. > :54:16.Hong Kong. He would love to finish up the order, even the top 10 --

:54:16. > :54:20.she would love. A clear round might give further option. Stood a long

:54:20. > :54:26.way off the boxer, bouncing all the way to the upright planks. An

:54:26. > :54:34.enormous jump. This is one horse that all the riders which they were

:54:34. > :54:40.sitting on in the show jumping phase. Oh, taking chances there.

:54:40. > :54:50.But even the way she hits the defence... He easily inside the

:54:50. > :55:20.

:55:21. > :55:30.the moment, but how high will she everything. Will she get into the

:55:31. > :55:36.

:55:36. > :55:44.top 10 with that, clear inside the she is very polished in this round,

:55:44. > :55:51.she jumped a lovely double clear on Mr Medicott. He won team gold in

:55:51. > :56:01.Hong Kong with Frank Ostholt and for the same rider at the world's

:56:01. > :56:11.

:56:11. > :56:17.championships. Double clear this more relaxed this afternoon. He

:56:17. > :56:22.jumped well this morning but he was doing a lot of fighting. He looks

:56:22. > :56:32.much softer and easier for Karen to get him to use his head and neck

:56:32. > :56:41.

:56:41. > :56:45.this horse in the spring in America. They have worked at it, as have the

:56:45. > :56:55.O'Connors, being gruelling people for not only training themselves

:56:55. > :57:05.but also their students. A little bit lucky, there. She stays 14th.

:57:05. > :57:06.

:57:06. > :57:16.53.8. Two very polished rounds. Two inside the time. We will see what

:57:16. > :57:17.

:57:17. > :57:27.the team think. The groom's works so hard. Mr Medicott, enjoying the

:57:27. > :57:39.

:57:39. > :57:45.her first Olympic Games. -- outside it is the lady. At 31-year-old Zara

:57:45. > :57:51.Phillips on the great Toytown, coming in on this High Kingdom. A

:57:51. > :57:56.brilliant round yesterday. Very much part of a team silver medal

:57:56. > :58:01.that Britain has clinched in the final show jumping today. He now

:58:01. > :58:07.coming to get glory in the individual. At the moment she is

:58:07. > :58:14.lying in 13th place. She ended up with a fence down and some time

:58:14. > :58:20.faults in round one. Kanju jumped a clear round? She jumped a very good

:58:20. > :58:30.round at crammed on to clinch a wonderful performance -- can she

:58:30. > :59:10.

:59:10. > :59:20.this horse. He is still improving and I fancy that is why he was

:59:20. > :59:26.

:59:26. > :59:35.is not unlucky for Zara full stock Zara Phillips, in her first

:59:35. > :59:39.Olympics, one very happy Mahler, and Peter Phillips -- happy mother.

:59:39. > :59:44.It is drizzling here, but the crowd don't know that. The Duchess of

:59:44. > :59:51.Cornwall, enjoying that moment. And what a performance by this young

:59:51. > :59:59.lady. She has another horse for her superb temperament and talent.

:59:59. > :00:06.Great for Great Britain. Will it take her further up the order?

:00:06. > :00:16.enormous jump over the second, and already turning, pitched her up his

:00:16. > :00:23.

:00:23. > :00:31.neck. Fortunately they stayed but the atmosphere is electric. It

:00:31. > :00:39.is Taggart, the man who looks like another Mark Todd -- it is Paget.

:00:39. > :00:45.He was 7th in the world, he is currently lying 12th in his current

:00:45. > :00:55.Olympics. He had one down this morning. New Zealand, winning the

:00:55. > :00:57.

:00:57. > :01:07.Olympic bronze. It was an unlucky one down this morning. He doesn't

:01:07. > :01:20.

:01:20. > :01:30.strike me as though he wants to the Worlds. He is now based in

:01:30. > :01:40.Britain. He is a definite prospect that he does get a time fault. Zara

:01:40. > :01:45.

:01:45. > :01:55.Phillips moves up one place. 54.1, 53.9 rather, Zara Phillips on 53.1.

:01:55. > :02:03.

:02:03. > :02:13.And in fact Karen O'Connor moves up he has got that time fault. He is

:02:13. > :02:29.

:02:29. > :02:39.thrilled to be in the cut for this Murphy, now even Clarke -- he for

:02:39. > :02:54.

:02:54. > :02:59.to base a team on for the future. They certainly are. She jumped a

:02:59. > :03:09.brilliant round this morning. Horse and rider look as though they are

:03:09. > :03:11.

:03:11. > :03:20.loving it, having great fun. European championship's leading

:03:20. > :03:30.from the dressage right until the end, another great performance here.

:03:30. > :03:36.

:03:36. > :03:42.Seabird clear round from Aoife The competition is over, what are

:03:42. > :03:52.the assessment of your performers? Quite relieved. Incredible, the

:03:52. > :03:52.

:03:52. > :03:57.whole weekend, a couple of mistakes, I am so pleased. Tiny little scare

:03:57. > :04:02.in the show jumping round, but the way he held it together. Straight

:04:02. > :04:07.out this time. What is this cause like?

:04:07. > :04:13.It is bigger and the time is tight again. After yesterday, and the

:04:13. > :04:17.second round, you have just got to get on with it again. It is good,

:04:17. > :04:27.he jumped fantastic. Had a chance to reflect on the team silver?

:04:27. > :04:29.

:04:29. > :04:36.really. We should have been able to do more but unfortunately the --

:04:36. > :04:42.unfortunately they were too good for us. We didn't go down. The team

:04:42. > :04:48.has been awesome this week, massive performance. A real honour to ride

:04:48. > :04:58.with everybody. I will let you with everybody. I will let you

:04:58. > :05:03.

:05:03. > :05:07.himself no harm. It is Ludvig Svennerstal. With Shamwari coming

:05:07. > :05:15.down the final alive. He has had three down, he slips because he was

:05:15. > :05:20.in touch. He was in touch with the leaders. It was a horse that was

:05:20. > :05:30.looked at very closely this morning. They let him through but I am not

:05:30. > :05:30.

:05:30. > :05:37.sure it was necessarily in his best interests. He now finishes on 72.1.

:05:37. > :05:43.Aoife Clarke goes up, so does Zara Phillips. And Shamwari goes a long

:05:43. > :05:47.way down the line. I think they probably were right to let him

:05:47. > :05:57.through. He is a little bit stiff and a little bit tired and that

:05:57. > :05:57.

:05:57. > :06:06.showed in the second round. There is the current position. Into the

:06:06. > :06:11.Top Ten comes the Frenchman and this week. Zara Phillips is just

:06:11. > :06:18.outside at the moment but certainly in touch. Now Christopher Burton,

:06:18. > :06:26.HP Leilani of Australia, one down this morning, he is on 50.10, this

:06:26. > :06:36.is where it gets very close indeed. There are at least four horses and

:06:36. > :06:46.

:06:46. > :06:55.had the best record. Only one down this morning. He started his first

:06:55. > :07:05.couple of jumps, he jumped really well. He is a horse that has not

:07:05. > :07:20.

:07:20. > :07:30.way to end. We will hear a lot more of this man, Christopher Burton.

:07:30. > :07:31.

:07:31. > :07:38.Zara Phillips is up into 9th place now. He finishes on 62.1.

:07:38. > :07:45.Christopher Burton, Australia. Australia really have had a bit of

:07:45. > :07:52.a nightmare Olympics by their very high standards. There is no Ingrid

:07:52. > :07:57.Klimke now, that lifts everybody up one place. It is the great Mark

:07:57. > :08:07.Todd, twice Olympic champion, got to go back to 84 and 88, Los

:08:07. > :08:09.

:08:09. > :08:16.Angeles, and then in Korea, riding a ferry -- fairly inexperienced

:08:16. > :08:25.horse, Campino. He was literally within less than one mark of the

:08:25. > :08:32.lead. This horse hasn't quite got this phase together. He was a

:08:32. > :08:36.little bit tired at the end of the cross-country. Mark was only one

:08:36. > :08:45.second over the time. He is an inexperienced horse so I think he

:08:45. > :08:54.will mature and strengthen up from this had developed from it. Next

:08:54. > :09:02.year he will be a bigger, stronger horse. We know how good he is in

:09:02. > :09:07.all three phases. I would imagine he would come out at Badminton next

:09:07. > :09:17.year and bring out a clear round. Zara Phillips is up now into 8th

:09:17. > :09:18.

:09:18. > :09:28.place. And the man who drops down is the great Mark Todd. He goes on

:09:28. > :09:49.

:09:49. > :09:58.to 54.5. Again, clear round. They win medals. Five places in all with

:09:58. > :10:03.those two fences down. We are now into the top six for the Olympic

:10:03. > :10:12.individual medals. Here is a man who has won a bronze in the worlds,

:10:12. > :10:16.can he go clear and put the pressure on? He has got at least

:10:16. > :10:26.just one fence between him and a bronze medal. Just one fence, clear

:10:26. > :10:27.

:10:27. > :10:37.round, put pressure on. Still to come, Sandra Oh for off -- Sandra

:10:37. > :10:51.

:10:51. > :10:57.Auffarth. The bigger the fence, the better he will jump. Because they

:10:58. > :11:07.are bigger he is able to write him to defences more than he was this

:11:07. > :11:11.morning. Just 5.7 marks. Just run through the contact a little bit.

:11:11. > :11:21.Big jump, couldn't really get him back. For a moment I thought he was

:11:21. > :11:21.

:11:21. > :11:29.going to pick a stride out. -- Take a stride out. At the moment, if the

:11:29. > :11:39.rest of the fences stay intact, and they do, he will not drop a place.

:11:39. > :11:42.

:11:42. > :11:48.He was in sixth, he will stay there. He has got a silver medal, a bronze

:11:48. > :11:58.medal, I should say. For New Zealand in the team. I am not sure

:11:58. > :12:03.

:12:03. > :12:07.it will be any more. Five left. Germany, Sandra Auffarth, she

:12:07. > :12:13.showed her show jumping background, that is the leaders at the moment

:12:13. > :12:23.with those five to go. Zara Phillips up to 8th position. If the

:12:23. > :12:30.

:12:30. > :12:37.rest went clear. Zara Phillips, on fences down and still stay above

:12:37. > :12:44.Zara Phillips. But what it also means, her chance of an Olympic

:12:44. > :12:54.medal would go. She has already won an individual silver in her first

:12:54. > :13:01.

:13:01. > :13:08.dreadfully wrong for her to have two down, the way this horse is

:13:08. > :13:18.jumping. Another one that almost looks as if it is relishing the

:13:18. > :13:37.

:13:37. > :13:44.and scope. The it has. -- it has. It looks all very easy. Bred in

:13:44. > :13:52.Germany. They have had a successful stud for many years. On goes the

:13:52. > :14:02.pressure, stays on 44.8, that is just a little more than one fence

:14:02. > :14:03.

:14:03. > :14:13.behind the lead, but less than one fence behind the bronze medal. At

:14:13. > :14:16.

:14:16. > :14:21.the moment, in the bronze position, 42.1, so three time faults would

:14:21. > :14:29.put Sandra in touch with a bronze from any of the next three. The

:14:29. > :14:37.next two of those three are British. Tina Cook, Tina who won bronze in

:14:37. > :14:40.Hong Kong, a superb second round four years ago, climbed from 10th

:14:40. > :14:50.up to the bronze medal, what can she do now? She is lying in fourth

:14:50. > :14:52.

:14:52. > :15:00.place, less than one mark behind Mary King. She just had tapped that

:15:00. > :15:04.first fence but it has gone. And another one. Sadly, she is not

:15:04. > :15:14.going to repeat the bronze individual medal from the last

:15:14. > :15:44.

:15:44. > :15:50.Olympics. She has got to keep him last. What a pity. She has done a

:15:50. > :16:00.tremendous job. She would have loved to have got a medal. She has

:16:00. > :16:10.got a team silver. Zara is still just behind Tina. Listen to them

:16:10. > :16:33.

:16:33. > :16:40.responding. 51 is her final score. Three to jump. You can see the

:16:40. > :16:45.disappointment for Tina. What About Mary Kane? She has put up a great

:16:45. > :16:55.performance. Can she now finish it off? Bronze medal position at the

:16:55. > :17:07.

:17:07. > :17:15.is going to drop down the leaderboard. The same two fences

:17:15. > :17:25.have gone for both the British riders. They will be absolutely

:17:25. > :17:29.

:17:29. > :17:37.gutted. But they have won a silver medal. But the team has won a

:17:37. > :17:47.silver medal and done a fantastic job. It would have been nice to

:17:47. > :18:15.

:18:15. > :18:25.have finished in style, but it is has moved up. Could it be bronze

:18:25. > :18:27.

:18:27. > :18:32.for Germany? Can history be made with the last two riders. Waiting

:18:32. > :18:42.to come in is the world and European champion, Michael Jung.

:18:42. > :18:45.

:18:45. > :18:55.Here he comes. Michael Jung, quite relaxed. He won the World

:18:55. > :18:56.

:18:56. > :19:06.Championships in 2010 in Kentucky. He is on this wonderful horse, Sam.

:19:06. > :19:11.

:19:11. > :19:17.An Irish horse. He is on a score of 40.6. He will go below Sandra if he

:19:17. > :19:22.has a fence down. If he jumps clear, he would put himself in with the

:19:22. > :19:32.chance of being the first man ever to hold the world, the European and

:19:32. > :19:59.

:19:59. > :20:07.the Olympic title at the same time. circuit. And the horse is jumping

:20:07. > :20:17.better this afternoon than it did this morning. This will be the big

:20:17. > :20:33.

:20:33. > :20:37.test. Brilliant. He stays where he wonderful training partnership.

:20:37. > :20:43.They have given a brilliant demonstration. Remember, he was

:20:43. > :20:53.11th after dressage, he is now second. It is all on, the last to

:20:53. > :20:58.

:20:58. > :21:06.go, Sara Algotsson with Wega. She is literally 1.3 ahead. A pat on

:21:06. > :21:16.the neck, a lot of pats on the neck. Do you like those motorbike cat?

:21:16. > :21:17.

:21:17. > :21:23.I did. What is wrong with good old fashioned proper riding hats?

:21:23. > :21:30.is the one that is battling for gold. A piece of history here,

:21:30. > :21:39.could Sara Algotsson Ostholt be the first lady rider to win an Olympic

:21:39. > :21:44.eventing title? Home-bred, out of the mare that her sister wrote

:21:45. > :21:49.earlier, finished just out of the medals. They can put all that right

:21:49. > :21:59.with this wonderful combination, so impressive this morning. Got to

:21:59. > :22:05.

:22:05. > :22:10.jump clear. Just one time fault could be afforded, but no more.

:22:10. > :22:20.Under pressure in the Europeans last year, did fall apart, they

:22:20. > :22:44.

:22:44. > :22:54.think it is allergic to these jumps at the moment! You could hear a pin

:22:54. > :23:33.

:23:33. > :23:40.She goes on to 43.3 and she will stay with the silver. It is not to

:23:40. > :23:44.be the first lady ever to win gold. But it is the first time that

:23:45. > :23:50.anyone has held the world, the European and the Olympic title and

:23:50. > :23:56.that is Michael Jung. Nice to see the sweets smiling because that

:23:56. > :24:04.will be a huge disappointment. They have really performed so well here.

:24:04. > :24:14.And the horse is fantastic. horse is amazing. You could tell

:24:14. > :24:18.

:24:18. > :24:28.she was fiddling with the stride and it did not happen. So Michael

:24:28. > :24:31.

:24:31. > :24:38.Jung that now holds all three major titles with Sam. Germany finish off

:24:38. > :24:48.in style. Remember they won the team gold earlier today. The

:24:48. > :24:59.

:24:59. > :25:05.individual bronze went to Sandra Auffarth. Consolation all round.

:25:05. > :25:15.What a tremendous Olympics it has been for the eventing discipline.

:25:15. > :25:15.

:25:15. > :25:23.Certainly one of the most exciting Very emotional in Greenwich.

:25:23. > :25:28.Congratulations, Michael Jung. Let's head back there. Rishi Persad

:25:28. > :25:32.is with Tina and Mary. Team silver medallists, but no medals in the

:25:32. > :25:38.individual competition and I detected some disappointment. But

:25:38. > :25:43.performances to be proud of all round. Mary, in your 6th Olympics.

:25:43. > :25:48.I was thrilled to jump at clear round in the team, it was my first

:25:48. > :25:54.clear round in an Olympic Games. Fantastic and disappointed with my

:25:54. > :26:01.two down. I made a big mistake and there is a big lion in the middle

:26:01. > :26:06.of the arena and I went near it and it scared him. Because of that he

:26:06. > :26:13.was a bit scared during the first part of the cause. You had both the

:26:13. > :26:18.same fences down. I saw the look on your face, but I wanted to say, you

:26:18. > :26:24.have done OK. It has done really well, but you want to go in and

:26:24. > :26:28.jumped a clear round. I am beating myself up, but I will get over it.

:26:28. > :26:34.You want to be they are going for gold, so I am disappointed, but I

:26:34. > :26:39.am thrilled for the team. Gold would have been amazing, but Selva

:26:39. > :26:45.is great. Because both of you have been in a position where you could

:26:45. > :26:49.have won a medal in the individual, there is an air of disappointment.

:26:50. > :26:54.But when you reflect on it the performance was fantastic,

:26:54. > :26:58.especially when you are up against a very strong German team. They did

:26:58. > :27:02.a better job than we did and they deserve the medals they have got.

:27:02. > :27:07.We will have to keep working for the next four years and Rio de

:27:07. > :27:12.Janeiro, here we come. It has been a tough year for you, you talked

:27:13. > :27:18.about Miners Frolic earlier on, but your dad passing away in February.

:27:18. > :27:22.How difficult has it been for you to get to where you are today?

:27:22. > :27:28.has been emotionally difficult, but you have to look at the positive

:27:28. > :27:32.things. We missed dad because we were a very close family. But we

:27:32. > :27:37.still work from home and Imam has still not been able to get rid of

:27:37. > :27:42.us. But coming to an Olympics is amazing for anybody and it has been

:27:42. > :27:47.brilliant and we did a good job and we have had a lot of fun. You have

:27:47. > :27:53.all been fantastic and you can be proud of your performances. You

:27:53. > :27:58.probably want to carry on, but your daughter is hot on your heels.

:27:58. > :28:02.Emily is keen to follow on my footsteps and she seems to have the

:28:02. > :28:07.drive that is needed at the minute. We will catch up with you after the

:28:07. > :28:11.medals ceremony. A great display from teen and a

:28:11. > :28:16.special display from the British team. It was so nervous sitting

:28:16. > :28:23.here watching it with you, but you make it worse. It I was making a

:28:23. > :28:28.lot of noise. Mary was talking about going to Brazil. Mark Todd

:28:28. > :28:33.was competing, he is 56, there is no upper age limit in eventing as

:28:33. > :28:38.long as you are physically fit enough and can keep putting

:28:38. > :28:42.yourself through it and can steered clear of injuries. She broke her

:28:42. > :28:48.neck in 2001 and those things happen in horse sports. Tina is

:28:48. > :28:53.thinking, well I ever have a horse as good as Miners Frolic again? She

:28:53. > :28:58.does not have the same numbers as William Fox-Pitt and does not have

:28:58. > :29:03.quite the same set-up. It may be harder for Tina to find the right

:29:03. > :29:08.for us than it will be for Mary. But for a merry the sun is always

:29:08. > :29:14.shining. If anybody deserves success in the individual event it

:29:14. > :29:21.is Mary, let's hope that happens in four years time. Converge elations

:29:21. > :29:26.for Michael Jung. I was thinking of Sara he thought she had left the

:29:26. > :29:31.last fence up and her husband is German. He was on the German team

:29:31. > :29:36.when they won the gold four years ago. I think there was only one

:29:36. > :29:42.hand available and he wanted his wife to win. Nationality did not

:29:42. > :29:46.matter. She thought she had, but it got snatched away from her. Not

:29:46. > :29:53.unlike diving, which you are going to see in a minute. The tiniest

:29:53. > :30:01.thing makes a difference and it is all over in a flash. Tina and Mary

:30:01. > :30:06.disappointed at the end. But it puts into perspective what a -- an

:30:06. > :30:10.impressive display from Zara Phillips. She knows it she had done

:30:10. > :30:14.that this morning we would have put so much pressure on Germany we

:30:14. > :30:19.might have won a gold medal. Anything can happen and people

:30:19. > :30:25.react under pressure. But they have won the team and individual gold,

:30:25. > :30:30.Germany. They will be hot favourites for the dressage gold,

:30:31. > :30:40.but Britain might win their first Olympic medal in dress size. Zara

:30:40. > :30:43.Phillips described her horse as such a dude. Let's go into the

:30:43. > :30:49.Aquatics Centre because today the British women are hoping to go one

:30:49. > :30:57.better. Disappointment yesterday for Tom Daley and Pete Waterfield.

:30:57. > :31:01.Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow are in great form. As you can see by the

:31:01. > :31:07.hands over the faces they are struggling a little now. They are

:31:07. > :31:15.in 6th place with one died left to go. That is on BBC thought. That is

:31:15. > :31:19.a shame. It was emotional in there with Tom and peat. You look at Tom

:31:19. > :31:23.Daley and he is only 18. Pete copes with being in the shadow of Tom

:31:23. > :31:29.Daley, but Tom has to deal with the full glare and you know about the

:31:29. > :31:34.Twitter round. Only a young guy who clearly is saying stupid things. I

:31:34. > :31:39.think I have had tweets from him. There are quite a lot of people who

:31:39. > :31:43.will say idiotic things, but that is the kind of pressure pump is

:31:43. > :31:48.under. They are clearly disappointed and straight away he

:31:48. > :31:52.is sanguine and eloquent and gracious in defeat. He did every

:31:52. > :31:58.single interview and was still doing interviews when I left. They

:31:58. > :32:08.cope with failure as well as with success. When we talk about what is

:32:08. > :32:11.

:32:11. > :32:16.inspiring about sport I personally Earth this will ring is good fun,

:32:16. > :32:20.but so is the canoe slalom, just as wet, but we sort David Florence not

:32:20. > :32:30.make it through to the final. We can join the final, five left to go,

:32:30. > :32:35.

:32:35. > :32:40.out on a bronze medal four years ago. Just over a second to Robin

:32:40. > :32:44.Bell of Australia. Can he produce the goods this time? If he wants a

:32:44. > :32:53.medal he will have to go faster than one of 5.73, which is the lead

:32:53. > :32:59.at the moment. Four superb athletes yet to come. Keeping the speed on

:32:59. > :33:08.the boat, wants to roll through its seven, the 88, trying to jump over

:33:08. > :33:18.as much as he can. He is up at the split. He is pushing out hard on to

:33:18. > :33:18.

:33:18. > :33:22.the wave, quick spin. He surfs across the waves into the gate.

:33:22. > :33:32.That was number 12, coming across for 13. The Spaniard looking very

:33:32. > :33:33.

:33:33. > :33:43.good, very powerful, economic or with his strokes. Drops down, gets

:33:43. > :33:43.

:33:43. > :33:49.the little bits stuck losing fractions of a time and energy. He

:33:49. > :33:57.is up 4.91 seconds. This looks like a fantastic run. This could be

:33:57. > :34:04.tough to beat. He really got stuck there. He comes up safely through

:34:04. > :34:14.the upstream, number 19, down 320, no penalty so far. 21 could be a

:34:14. > :34:15.

:34:15. > :34:22.real test for him. To tight around the polls, pushing back round.

:34:22. > :34:28.dropped out of the way of 23, this is good, it won a 2.61, lost a bit

:34:28. > :34:34.of time over the last four or five gates but in the lead by a

:34:34. > :34:44.considerable margin. There they are, just down in a holding pen after

:34:44. > :34:48.

:34:48. > :34:58.the fish. Elosegi in pole position. For kept it nice and tight, they

:34:58. > :34:59.

:34:59. > :35:09.want to be in and out of those eddies as quickly as possible.

:35:09. > :35:13.turned out to be a real textbook runner for the Spaniard. Heath has

:35:13. > :35:18.-- he has set an incredibly high standard. The rest of the team

:35:18. > :35:28.delighted. Only two men have dipped under the 100 barrier at the moment,

:35:28. > :35:40.

:35:40. > :35:45.in the first run, and Savsek. Martikan. He was

:35:45. > :35:49.uncharacteristically a bit slow early wrong. He has sat on top of

:35:49. > :35:54.the Olympic rostrum twice in his life, taking the silver medal

:35:54. > :35:59.position twice in his life. And on his day he can be a very special

:35:59. > :36:03.performer indeed. A much better start for this final than we saw in

:36:03. > :36:13.the semi-final where he got stuck in gate one. If getting his boat

:36:13. > :36:14.

:36:14. > :36:24.moving sleuth -- smoothly. It comes in a nice and tight around 89. He

:36:24. > :36:24.

:36:24. > :36:27.is taking it on forward, the first athlete to do that. The Slovakian

:36:27. > :36:35.paddlers are superstar's back in the Rhone country, it is virtually

:36:35. > :36:45.a national sport over there. -- back in their own country. They

:36:45. > :36:49.

:36:49. > :36:53.know how good this man is, so far so good for Martikan. He has picked

:36:54. > :37:00.up a mountain of time ahead of the Spaniard, can he keep it together

:37:00. > :37:04.over the last few gates? Getting a little bit stuck but nice and tight

:37:04. > :37:10.into 19. He will try to keep the run he has had throughout the whole

:37:10. > :37:16.of this course to make sure he doesn't lose any speed. Two days to

:37:16. > :37:22.go, pushes hard out. We won a big strike to get into 21, and out of

:37:22. > :37:31.21. He is absolutely flying. That is the fastest time we have seen on

:37:31. > :37:39.his Olympic course. No mistakes. That is the mark of a brilliant

:37:39. > :37:46.champion. Can anybody be that? a fantastic run, he kept the speed

:37:46. > :37:52.on the boat, the momentum. The only paddler out there in this final and

:37:52. > :37:59.semi-finals to take it on forward. He is well into his thirties now

:37:59. > :38:06.but no mistaking the mark of greatness, already twice an Olympic

:38:06. > :38:11.champion, this could be gold medal number three. He really did

:38:11. > :38:14.demonstrate why he has become a Olympic champion twice, why he has

:38:14. > :38:22.won the world championship medals and why he is the man to beat out

:38:22. > :38:31.there on this course. He will note the next competitor is another man

:38:31. > :38:40.vying for the title of the greatest ever. There is the situation so far,

:38:40. > :38:45.Martikan leads. Estanguet has stood on top of the rostrum twice in his

:38:45. > :38:55.life. What a standard has been set in his final. Estanguet has got to

:38:55. > :39:04.fly down the sports -- fly down this course. He is getting the line

:39:04. > :39:14.nice and straight-A 36, got to keep it direct if he can. Tied into gate

:39:14. > :39:15.

:39:16. > :39:19.nine. -- tight. Nicely done. Estanguet is flying. If he can hold

:39:19. > :39:29.it together over the whole of the course I don't think anybody will

:39:29. > :39:33.

:39:33. > :39:42.come course. -- come close. Everybody thought of Martikan was

:39:42. > :39:47.untouchable. Not giving anything away here. 1.75 seconds up, this is

:39:47. > :39:57.going from good to excellent. Puts a big pit in there, he needs to get

:39:57. > :39:58.

:39:58. > :40:08.some good speed, driving up into 19. He gets knocked sideways coming

:40:08. > :40:11.down 320. He has maintained his control. Driving all the way

:40:11. > :40:19.through the finish. Estanguet is flying, it will be quick, it is

:40:19. > :40:29.very quick. 97.06. Again, you see the fastest time on the course

:40:29. > :40:31.

:40:31. > :40:39.during these Olympics, absolutely shattered this time. Martikan... If

:40:39. > :40:47.looks could kill. S Then why it of France is the master -- Estanguet.

:40:47. > :40:51.Still to competitors to go. Estanguet it is guaranteed a medal.

:40:51. > :40:58.What a performance, making sure he didn't leave anything to chance,

:40:58. > :41:02.didn't give away any seconds there, kept it running, used every bit of

:41:02. > :41:06.speed and wave he could on the course to put in such a fantastic

:41:06. > :41:12.performance and lay down such a time to beat. The French supporters

:41:12. > :41:17.that were waiting for him at the finished work delirious with joy.

:41:17. > :41:23.That was a stunning performance by Tony Estanguet. There is the

:41:23. > :41:29.situation, the two great names at the top of the table. The Spaniards

:41:29. > :41:39.still in third place, in with a chance of a medal. We are down to

:41:39. > :41:46.our final two competitors, Savsek. He has just seen it two remarkable

:41:46. > :41:50.men complete his course in under one minute. Off to a nice start.

:41:50. > :41:54.Comes into tight on gate three. There is a to second penalty

:41:54. > :41:59.already. With those times that have been set this could be a real

:42:00. > :42:07.challenge to take the lead. He has got to keep maintaining the

:42:07. > :42:14.momentum that he set up now, Estanguet, the fastest split so far.

:42:14. > :42:19.He is 2.53 seconds behind, it is all going wrong at the moment for

:42:19. > :42:23.this really strong Slovenian. He is all over the place at the moment.

:42:23. > :42:29.Surely Tony Estanguet will be guaranteed a silver medal, with

:42:29. > :42:36.only Tasiadis of Germany to come. Now he is upside down and back up

:42:36. > :42:42.again, the pressure has got to him. It is all unravelling. Another to

:42:42. > :42:48.his second penalty, a total of 104 seconds of time already added.

:42:48. > :42:51.is really overcooking it. He has got no chance of any placing now

:42:51. > :42:57.except at the bottom of the table. The maximum number of penalty

:42:57. > :43:04.points so far by any of the previous competitors is just two.

:43:04. > :43:08.He has tried his best. He really has tried hard. So cross with

:43:08. > :43:15.himself, this is the untidy is run he has had in the whole competition

:43:15. > :43:21.so far, having done so consistently well. One upstream gated go, then

:43:22. > :43:28.the two downstream dates -- date it to go. A massive cheer from the

:43:28. > :43:35.crowd knowing he has tried his hardest. What a frustrating run for

:43:35. > :43:42.the Slovenian, after such a great Olympic campaign. He goes into 7th

:43:42. > :43:48.place. What a fascinating situation, Tony Estanguet sitting at the top

:43:48. > :43:54.of the table, within reach of his third Olympic gold medal. The

:43:54. > :44:00.Slovakian in second place, he will possibly win a third silver medal

:44:00. > :44:05.to add to the two gold medals. The Spaniard hasn't won a medal yet, he

:44:05. > :44:14.is sitting in third place at the moment. Just Tasiadis he produced

:44:14. > :44:20.the fastest time in the semi-finals, he is the last man down the course.

:44:20. > :44:26.Estanguet on the verge of becoming the greatest paddler of all time,

:44:26. > :44:32.especially when you look into his Olympic record. But can it be

:44:32. > :44:38.Germany's day? The last time they climbed to the top of the medal

:44:38. > :44:48.rostrum was back in 1972. In those days it was East Germany who won

:44:48. > :44:54.the gold medal. Tasiadis of Germany is seeing if he can beat the time

:44:54. > :45:04.set by Tony Estanguet. If he can he will win the Olympic gold medal.

:45:04. > :45:12.And nicely around the first three gates. Over to gate five. He can

:45:12. > :45:19.get a smooth and fast line 37 and 8. This split could be crucial. It is

:45:19. > :45:24.not insurmountable. The secret of Estanguet's success was consistency.

:45:24. > :45:34.He had fantastic speed over the middle part of the course. He built

:45:34. > :45:34.

:45:34. > :45:41.throughout his run. Quite tight at 13. Get caught a little bit in the

:45:41. > :45:46.stopper as he pursues over to the course on the left-hand side.

:45:46. > :45:55.will see the next split. Estanguet will either be in pole position or

:45:55. > :46:00.not. He certainly is at the moment. He is certainly in touch to win a

:46:00. > :46:10.bronze medal ahead of the Spaniard. Tasiadis has got to keep it

:46:10. > :46:14.together now. Entirely to the upstream gate. A little bit stuck.

:46:14. > :46:18.The last upstream gate on the course, two downstream gates to go.

:46:18. > :46:25.The bronze medal is that one or 2.61, the silver and 98.31. I think

:46:25. > :46:35.we know who the champion is. This is a fantastic finish. My goodness,

:46:35. > :46:37.

:46:37. > :46:44.he has leapfrogged Martikan. The Spaniard is out of the medals

:46:44. > :46:49.altogether. He finished 4th in Beijing, he finishes fourth this

:46:49. > :46:59.time. The champion for the third time in his career, Tony Estanguet

:46:59. > :47:07.

:47:07. > :47:14.produced a remarkable finish. That was brilliant, worthy of a champion.

:47:14. > :47:20.It's certainly was, he kept his cool and he knew what he had to do

:47:20. > :47:26.and there was absolute delight when he crossed the line. There is

:47:26. > :47:33.Michael Martikan, for the 5th time on the podium. It almost breaks out

:47:33. > :47:38.into a smile. But Sideris Tasiadis produced one of the performances of

:47:38. > :47:44.this competition so far. If it had not been for the superlative form

:47:44. > :47:49.of Tony Estanguet, he would have been champion. I do not know a huge

:47:49. > :47:55.amount about canoe slalom, but that was genius. How was it for you?

:47:55. > :48:02.First, I want to say it is a real pleasure to be with you here today.

:48:02. > :48:08.Yes, it is a special moment for me. It was a big fight for me to return

:48:08. > :48:13.after Beijing and my knight plays. I am really, really satisfied. It

:48:13. > :48:20.is like a dream because in this water, just one detail can put you

:48:21. > :48:26.off. I am really satisfied. After you saw Michael Martikan go down,

:48:26. > :48:34.what were your emotions? I was sure he would be at the meeting today

:48:34. > :48:38.and tea is really strong and I knew all so I could do it. I just tried

:48:38. > :48:43.to stay focused on my line and looked at the gates and the speed

:48:43. > :48:51.of the current and go as fast as possible. One of your best runs

:48:51. > :48:57.ever? No, probably not, because with this it is hard to be at your

:48:57. > :49:05.best, but for the Olympics it is not so bad. Congratulations. Thank

:49:05. > :49:13.you Johnathan and thank you for the He is the only person saying thank

:49:14. > :49:20.you for the rain. Congratulations to Tony. Two times Olympic champion

:49:20. > :49:25.and he finished 9th in 2008, so what an incredible year for him.

:49:25. > :49:28.The women's 10m synchronised diving has just finished. No medal

:49:28. > :49:34.yesterday for Tom Daley and Pete Waterfield and the same applies

:49:34. > :49:40.today. Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow were looking for a medal. There was

:49:40. > :49:45.plenty of hope for them, but they finished in 5th. That is despite

:49:45. > :49:51.the fact they came into this in good form. Surprise, surprise,

:49:51. > :49:57.China picked up the gold medal. Tonight at Wembley Stadium they are

:49:57. > :50:03.expecting a crowd of around 75,000 people for Team GB's women's match.

:50:03. > :50:09.If you are planning to go to Wembley, please get there early.

:50:09. > :50:19.And from Wembley Stadium to Wembley Arena. This is the Badminton. This

:50:19. > :50:38.

:50:38. > :50:47.it has been an extraordinary match. Rajiv won the first set and was

:50:47. > :50:57.leading 14-11 and had a sitter at the net and missed it. Now it is

:50:57. > :51:14.

:51:14. > :51:24.was cross it and that was the best shot he could do. He moved it away

:51:24. > :51:24.

:51:24. > :51:32.from Kevin's forehand. Rajiv was a silver medallist in the

:51:32. > :51:39.Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in 2010. The last British hope to

:51:39. > :51:45.reach the knockout stages. This is in effect a knockout match. Whoever

:51:45. > :51:55.wins this match goes through to the last 16. Whoever loses his out of

:51:55. > :51:57.

:51:57. > :52:07.the tournament. That was long. That was just on that far baseline. 19-

:52:07. > :52:13.

:52:13. > :52:23.19. It is the first to 21 provided you have a two-point lead. That was

:52:23. > :52:29.a brilliant shot. He reaches match point first. That is clever play.

:52:29. > :52:39.He has been so effective with his smash. Rajiv was expecting the

:52:39. > :53:07.

:53:07. > :53:17.badminton tournament is over. Reggie kicks his racket away in

:53:17. > :53:21.

:53:21. > :53:24.disgust. Guatemala is a country with no history of Badminton at all.

:53:24. > :53:31.Stunned the world in the World Tour Championships to reach the quarter-

:53:31. > :53:36.finals. Now he has reached the last 16. Rajiv we look back on that City

:53:37. > :53:44.that he had when he led in the final game. He won no that was his

:53:44. > :53:50.chance. I'm afraid he blew it. had all the chances to win that

:53:50. > :53:56.match. Especially in the first half of that last game, he was so

:53:56. > :54:06.dominant at the neck. He was using his attack and his angles so well.

:54:06. > :54:07.

:54:07. > :54:11.Just some really basic errors. In the end they were just so costly.

:54:11. > :54:15.It has to be said this has been a desperately disappointing

:54:15. > :54:18.tournament for the British badminton team. They did not

:54:18. > :54:25.qualify in the men's doubles or women's doubles, and now no-one has

:54:25. > :54:34.got through to the knockout stages. That was the last British interest

:54:34. > :54:40.But plenty of interest in the equestrian. We can go live it back

:54:40. > :54:49.to Greenwich. A wonderful silver medal for Great Britain. Here they

:54:49. > :54:57.are about to receive their medals. They gave it everything and were so,

:54:57. > :55:02.so close. Her Royal Highness presenting the first silver medal

:55:03. > :55:08.to William Fox-Pitt. He is the world's number one, but he could

:55:08. > :55:18.not quite clinch it for Britain. Now for Nicola Wilson, a late call-

:55:18. > :55:21.

:55:21. > :55:31.up. Now Zara. Yes, how good to see you. Tremendous, such a lovely

:55:31. > :55:34.

:55:34. > :55:40.young lady. One that can only do the sport proud in the future. Then

:55:40. > :55:46.Mary King, what a performance. Then finally Tina Cook. She has now got

:55:46. > :55:56.a team bronze and a team silver. Will it be Rio de Janeiro where it

:55:56. > :55:58.

:55:58. > :56:05.is Britain's turn to win gold again? Don't they look happy? And

:56:05. > :56:15.so they should. A nice hug from the Princess, the president of the

:56:15. > :56:35.

:56:35. > :56:39.The gold medallists and Olympic champions representing Germany.

:56:39. > :56:49.step forward for their second Olympic title in a row and they

:56:49. > :56:49.

:56:50. > :56:59.deserve it. They were excellent in all phases. Peter Thomson, his

:57:00. > :57:07.

:57:07. > :57:13.second gold medal. Dirk is becoming a regular member of the team.

:57:13. > :57:19.Sandra Auffarth is certainly going to become a regular member. This is

:57:19. > :57:24.the first Olympic Games for this man. And now on his birthday today

:57:24. > :57:32.he wins his first Olympic gold and one hesitates to say it could be

:57:32. > :57:38.the first of many. Ingrid would have loved and Olympic gold, but

:57:38. > :57:45.she withdrew her horse for the last round. It is her second team gold

:57:45. > :57:55.that she will cherish. Here come the flowers. What a birthday

:57:55. > :57:59.present for Michael Jung. And this looks a very powerful team. Britain

:57:59. > :58:04.is going to have to pull out all the stops, as are any of the other

:58:04. > :58:14.teams, to get ahead of this very powerful German team, the Olympic

:58:14. > :58:23.

:58:23. > :58:33.champions. Peter Thomson on the left, the senior member. But now we

:58:33. > :58:33.

:58:33. > :59:48.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 75 seconds

:59:48. > :59:54.come to the national anthem of the Congratulations Germany. Great

:59:54. > :00:03.Britain sits in 20th place in the medal table. Germany are 7th, that

:00:03. > :00:13.was their second gold medal of the Games. Another gold in the Aquatics

:00:13. > :00:19.Centre in the diving for China. They are looking strong. We have

:00:19. > :00:24.got gymnastics coming up. What did you make of that yesterday? It was

:00:24. > :00:29.wonderful and heartbreaking at the same time. It took Great Britain
