:00:26. > :00:32.Welcome back to our continued coverage. We are going to go

:00:32. > :00:42.straight back to Greenwich Park, where Scott Brash is riding Hello

:00:42. > :00:44.

:00:44. > :00:49.Sanctos in the individual performance he has put up. Superb

:00:49. > :00:54.temperament, and he jumped a clear round when it really mattered for

:00:54. > :00:59.Great Britain. Could not have done a better job even if he had been

:00:59. > :01:05.jumping in his beloved Scotland. Scott Brash, from Peebles, with

:01:05. > :01:15.this lovely horse, Hello Sanctos, owned by Lord and Lady Harris.

:01:15. > :01:15.

:01:15. > :01:25.Bought for him at the end of last year. This talented young man from

:01:25. > :01:33.

:01:33. > :01:38.Scotland has his first individual trays. Scott has impressed

:01:38. > :01:42.everybody with his cool, calm temperament. And he seems to love

:01:42. > :01:52.the pressure of riding at a big championships. Brings out the best

:01:52. > :02:09.

:02:10. > :02:15.going to have had a good look. I think he is all right. Any mark

:02:16. > :02:19.from the horse's ft on the plasticine will be four faults.

:02:19. > :02:29.Scott will not know anything about that. He will be concentrating on

:02:29. > :02:32.

:02:32. > :02:42.the rest of the course. Here is the last. Absolutely brilliant! This

:02:42. > :02:52.

:02:52. > :02:57.for Britain, one officers learned, one for fans and one for Ireland

:02:57. > :03:01.that was quite out of this world. It is unbelievable, the way Scott

:03:01. > :03:09.keeps rising to the occasion her in every round. He has got better and

:03:09. > :03:14.better. In the water, that was his one scary moment. Couldn't have

:03:14. > :03:20.been closer. But he has impressed everyone with his riding. He is the

:03:20. > :03:25.coolest guy in the whole place. What a round that was. The will

:03:25. > :03:35.carry that clean sheet through till around two and two more grounds for

:03:35. > :03:35.

:03:35. > :03:40.That was a superb bid for a medal. Oh, my word. A word on Hello

:03:40. > :03:45.Sanctos as well, to squeeze in just over that plasticine. We can now go

:03:45. > :03:50.back and have a word with Clare, who is with the king of composure.

:03:50. > :03:55.No, she is not there. I have not got him yeah, but he will be on his

:03:55. > :03:59.way any second, and I would grab him - gently! He is the youngest

:03:59. > :04:03.member of the British team. It is his first Olympic Games, and he is

:04:04. > :04:08.so cool. It is almost like things start happening in slow motion when

:04:08. > :04:12.he comes into the arena, which is a sign of a top-class athlete. You

:04:12. > :04:17.see it with swimmers, runners and tennis players. Everything starts

:04:17. > :04:20.to happen slower than in real life. It is a great start for Scott Brash.

:04:20. > :04:24.He is super-confident. We interviewed him late at night and I

:04:24. > :04:28.said, how will this change your life? And he said, I hope it will

:04:28. > :04:33.improve my pulling power with the girls. He has had a huge response

:04:33. > :04:39.to that so far. No sign of him yeah, but we have a fair few jumpers to

:04:39. > :04:44.go. This guy, Ian Millar, is the oldest of the lot. This is his

:04:44. > :04:54.tenth Olympic Games and he is 65. It is a new record, and he is

:04:54. > :05:04.

:05:04. > :05:14.did in his thirties. He is such a class jockey. He has a wonderful

:05:14. > :05:14.

:05:14. > :05:24.horse. What can he do in this first individual round? There will be a

:05:24. > :05:25.

:05:25. > :05:33.lot of people in Berkshire thrilled to see that horse on the course.

:05:33. > :05:38.is a really influential stallion. He is the Saraf Nick Skelton's big

:05:38. > :05:45.hope for later, Big Star. There are one or two sires that really do

:05:45. > :05:53.have a massive influence on the spot. The same kind of athletic

:05:53. > :05:59.ability as Big Star, but maybe not quite the same horse. Ian is riding

:05:59. > :06:05.as well as ever. 65 years old, but look at that for quality and class

:06:05. > :06:13.all the way round. We are running out of superlatives for all that

:06:13. > :06:18.has gone on at Greenwich, but this man is a legend. He keeps himself

:06:18. > :06:28.fit and is a wonderful example of what top-class riding can still do

:06:28. > :06:29.

:06:29. > :06:39.at 65. The one fence down means four faults. We are now into the

:06:39. > :06:40.

:06:40. > :06:47.last quarter of the first of two rounds for the individual medals.

:06:47. > :06:54.Thumbs up for captain Canada. He was in the silver-medal team in

:06:54. > :06:57.Beijing for Canada four years ago. Now, the young Dutchman. He is 34

:06:57. > :07:02.and was the star man that helped the Netherlands to win a gold medal

:07:02. > :07:07.in the worlds of 2006, and then again in the Europeans have, when

:07:07. > :07:11.they beat Germany on their home ground on two great occasions. But

:07:11. > :07:16.there were two occasions when sadly, this man did not deliver when it

:07:16. > :07:20.mattered. What was in Madrid last year at the Europeans, when he had

:07:20. > :07:25.the very last fence down and almost had a gold medal at his fingertips.

:07:25. > :07:35.And again here, when he could have really put the Netherlands so much

:07:35. > :07:37.

:07:37. > :07:43.closer to Britain, but it was not to be. Gerco Schroder, with London.

:07:43. > :07:49.This is another stallion which is so valuable for breeding if they

:07:49. > :07:55.get to this kind of level. Gerco Schroder is not the tallest rider,

:07:55. > :08:05.but he is very stylish, very effective. Watch him riding his

:08:05. > :08:43.

:08:43. > :08:51.horse with no bit in its mouth at And he has a time fault. Baptiste

:08:51. > :08:55.two of them now on a time fault. The Portuguese rider, and now Gerco

:08:55. > :09:03.Schroder for the Netherlands. Incidentally, we have 12 with five

:09:03. > :09:07.faults or under. And we have the best riders in the world to come.

:09:07. > :09:13.Power, scope, ability, but that time fault, the way this is panning

:09:13. > :09:17.out, they need to go clear. Brilliantly clean over the last

:09:17. > :09:27.fence, but Cairness is needed now. I wonder why he was caught London.

:09:27. > :09:35.I think I know. I think it is a bit of a giveaway. 11 left to jump.

:09:36. > :09:45.There is bob Ellis. What a job he has done. His mate did all the

:09:46. > :09:48.

:09:48. > :09:56.designs of these wonderful fences. Now, one of my fancies for the

:09:57. > :10:03.individuals. This is the very talented Swiss rider, Pius Schwizer.

:10:03. > :10:13.This mare looks so fit and well. It is by one of the great stallions

:10:13. > :10:19.that jumped for Switzerland. They have looked good here, without

:10:19. > :10:29.producing the deal. Could it be now? Pius Schwizer is a great rider

:10:29. > :10:31.

:10:31. > :10:38.to watch. Likes to let his horses run forward and jump. She is a

:10:38. > :10:41.light horse, very athletic. What you want from your horse is a

:10:41. > :10:51.naturally athletic Kantor, so they can keep travelling forward without

:10:51. > :10:59.going out if balance. Just to remind everybody, these fences are

:10:59. > :11:09.up to 1.6 p high, and some of the mark two metres wide. -- they are

:11:09. > :11:31.

:11:31. > :11:35.is three with a time fault and four clear rounds so far.

:11:35. > :11:44.And one of those with clear rounds at no time faults is Great

:11:44. > :11:49.He jumped really well today. He is settled and is getting better and

:11:49. > :11:54.better. I saw you deliberately slowing down and walking out of the

:11:54. > :11:58.arena gently. Were you thinking, don't get over-excited? The more

:11:58. > :12:05.time they spend in that atmosphere, the better. But it feels relaxed in

:12:05. > :12:10.their today. I am pleased. You seem relaxed. Fairly laid-back, but

:12:10. > :12:15.there is a lot to go yet. We have another round. It is a lot of

:12:15. > :12:19.jumping for the horses. So we just have to try our best and give the

:12:19. > :12:23.crowds something to cheer about. his it hard to treat this as just

:12:23. > :12:28.another competition when you have already got a gold medal? That is

:12:28. > :12:34.what you have got to do. You have got to beat the track. The horse

:12:34. > :12:40.does not know what day it is. It does not know about the fantastic

:12:40. > :12:44.atmosphere. You just have to ride the course accordingly, and ride

:12:44. > :12:54.the lines the way you think you need to and do what is best for the

:12:54. > :12:58.

:12:58. > :13:04.Arabian, Kamal Bahamdan. What a performance they put up. They won

:13:04. > :13:13.the bronze medal. But they have only ever won three medals in the

:13:13. > :13:19.Olympics. They put up a fantastic performance. Kamal Bahamdan is

:13:19. > :13:29.clear so far. You have got to love this mayor. Always looking for the

:13:29. > :13:36.

:13:36. > :13:46.an effort over the water. She is so gutsy, the way she stretched over

:13:46. > :13:48.

:13:48. > :13:53.that. We have seen a few good clear rounds, with that one time fault.

:13:53. > :14:02.Looks as though he will be close again. Time is coming into play

:14:02. > :14:08.more than we expected. Third and it is another one with a time fault!

:14:08. > :14:13.When it comes to the second round, those one time faults will be

:14:13. > :14:22.crucial. But the team from Saudi Arabia for are really showing what

:14:22. > :14:26.He is a man who has already set a record in this Olympics, Ian Millar.

:14:26. > :14:32.We think you will be all right? think I will get through to the

:14:32. > :14:37.second round. But those four faults could be expensive at the podium.

:14:37. > :14:42.It is going to take a double clean round to get to the podium.

:14:42. > :14:46.London doing all right? At a damn all right. I was thinking last

:14:46. > :14:49.night, reviewing the whole thing in my mind, it is the essence of home

:14:49. > :14:53.court advantage. The spirit of Great Britain and the enthusiasm

:14:53. > :14:57.behind these athletes is spurring them to great heights, and each

:14:57. > :15:00.success makes the other athletes better. It is an extraordinary

:15:00. > :15:03.synergy going on between the athletes in this country. In terms

:15:03. > :15:08.of facilities for you as a travelling Athlete, have you found

:15:08. > :15:12.it all right? The facilities are beyond first class. They had a

:15:12. > :15:16.difficult challenge building the park here. It is all portable. It

:15:17. > :15:26.will all come down and return the part to its fantastic natural state.

:15:27. > :15:42.

:15:42. > :15:50.medal they have won in the equestrian games. They won an

:15:50. > :15:58.individual bronze back in Sydney, he was meant to be at the Games.

:15:58. > :16:07.They are certainly done the country proud. His source called Bayard van

:16:07. > :16:13.de Villa There, compete in the first-round of the individual, on

:16:13. > :16:20.four so far. Making such an impact on the world of show jumping, at

:16:20. > :16:27.the Saudi Arabians. Ran into close to the combination, it has all of

:16:27. > :16:31.ragged here. A look back at the last fence. He is inside the time.

:16:31. > :16:38.A strong suspicion that time it just spurred him on to go that

:16:38. > :16:48.little bit quicker, and as a result the mistakes came, 12 in all, three

:16:48. > :16:54.fences down for Ramzy Al Duhami. Britain will be here in five horses

:16:54. > :16:58.time, Britain's Ben Maher, the 5th horse to come out of the horses

:16:58. > :17:07.that are left. He is just having a bit of an argument coming into the

:17:07. > :17:17.combination. Bit of a disagreement, got way to close to the first part.

:17:17. > :17:20.

:17:20. > :17:24.Germany, what can you say? All expected them to be very much at

:17:24. > :17:28.the sharp end of the medals, they haven't done it so far, but don't

:17:28. > :17:34.disregard this man, the world's number-one ranked rider for many

:17:34. > :17:44.weeks, over many years, Marcus Ehning, he is riding 15 euros

:17:44. > :17:45.

:17:45. > :17:51.payout -- stallion called Plot Blue. -- 15-year-old. He is very

:17:51. > :17:57.experienced, the stallion. He hasn't looked at his best so far in

:17:57. > :18:06.this tournament. He is one of the older horses here, 15. Marcus

:18:06. > :18:11.Ehning, everybody's idea of perfect classical rider. How he can sit so

:18:11. > :18:18.still in two such big fences is a complete mystery to me. Finished

:18:18. > :18:24.4th, just outside the medals, in Sydney. I saw one of his sons here

:18:24. > :18:30.in the earlier round, was on a gold medal team in Sydney, that is his

:18:30. > :18:40.only Olympic medal to date. These riders will know they have got to

:18:40. > :18:40.

:18:40. > :18:47.get inside the time, too many clears. He will be OK for time.

:18:47. > :18:52.Just the last fence, he has jumped it. Marcus Ehning has shown us

:18:52. > :18:59.exactly why he is regarded as one of the best. Brilliant round for

:18:59. > :19:03.Marcus Ehning. And for Plot Blue. It is a clear round, at number five,

:19:03. > :19:11.it is Ireland, France, Switzerland, Britain and now Germany, each with

:19:11. > :19:18.a clear round. We have just witnessed perfect harmony between

:19:18. > :19:22.horse and rider. These two, elegant, classic, stylish. Look how happy

:19:22. > :19:27.and relaxed the horse is after the race, wonderful to watch. I have

:19:27. > :19:37.heard one or two people say he could come good as we are beginning

:19:37. > :19:41.

:19:41. > :19:47.to get that feeling. There is the top 20 just coming up. And there is

:19:47. > :19:51.the eight faults bringing us up to 18. I think it will be those five

:19:51. > :19:57.faults at the moment that look like being the cut-off point. That will

:19:57. > :20:04.disappoint a lot to have got two fences or more down. -- who have

:20:04. > :20:13.got. Three more to jump before Ben Maher. Nick Skelton follows Ben

:20:13. > :20:19.Maher. And here, if you are a betting person, here is a

:20:19. > :20:25.combination that has had several faller was saying watch this one.

:20:25. > :20:34.This one is Daniel Bluman with Sancha. She went to the World

:20:34. > :20:38.Equestrian Games, quite young when she won there, two years ago.

:20:38. > :20:45.Finished 109th but will finish a lot higher here in London, been

:20:45. > :20:52.very impressive in jumping on the European circuit to warm up, but

:20:52. > :20:58.their most impressive performance this year was a $50,000 first prize

:20:58. > :21:08.in the Grand Prix in Wellington in March, and they ran away with it.

:21:08. > :21:28.

:21:28. > :21:38.What will they do here? Five clear down there, he put another one in.

:21:38. > :21:41.

:21:41. > :21:51.But they have really impressed this a horse prepared to give you that

:21:51. > :21:58.extra little bit of effort when it really counts. Censure, let's see

:21:58. > :22:08.what she does, will she stretched over the water? Looking good. That

:22:08. > :22:29.

:22:29. > :22:33.up with a medal with four faults is changing, and Colombia is one of

:22:33. > :22:41.those nations who are showing they mean business on the international

:22:41. > :22:45.stage, lovely round. 4 faults, inside the time. Showjumping can be

:22:45. > :22:51.a tough, cruel sport. You see how likely -- likely he touched that

:22:51. > :22:57.with his front feet. One little tiny touch on the fence and that

:22:57. > :23:03.was all it took. Classic foot- perfect, jumping down the

:23:03. > :23:10.combination. That one fence will be one too many. We are taking 23 to

:23:10. > :23:13.the second round, this individual day here at Greenwich Park -- 20.

:23:13. > :23:20.With the scores it could well be four faults, 5 balls, somewhere

:23:20. > :23:30.around there by the time we are done, -- five faults. In comes the

:23:30. > :23:33.

:23:33. > :23:41.a Australian star, Edwina Tops- Alexander. They go so well together,

:23:41. > :23:51.Edwina, she was 4th in the world back in 2006. She is a world-class

:23:51. > :23:54.

:23:54. > :24:01.jockey, certainly a possible model for Australia. You say he is like a

:24:01. > :24:06.little rubber ball, he is not much bigger than a pony. That was a

:24:06. > :24:14.shame, you wouldn't expect him to make that sort of mistake. He is

:24:14. > :24:20.getting on a bit now. Whether he is just slightly past his best, this

:24:20. > :24:30.little horse. This was one of the horses and combinations everybody

:24:30. > :24:36.

:24:36. > :24:46.really did think could possibly win sure she doesn't get time fault. A

:24:46. > :25:00.

:25:00. > :25:05.she will be disappointed. That was insignificant compared to some of

:25:05. > :25:11.the other offences on this course but down it went, it is four. The

:25:11. > :25:17.Australians certainly not having an equestrian games to remember.

:25:17. > :25:25.Edwina Tops-Alexander on four. uncharacteristic mistake Fort Itot

:25:25. > :25:34.du Chateau. So it used to seeing it jump clear round after clear round.

:25:34. > :25:43.Quite a big mistake there. Didn't see that one coming. Five left to

:25:43. > :25:49.go in round one. If we have any equalities we go to a jump-off. A

:25:49. > :25:56.jump-off for any one of the medals. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia now and

:25:56. > :26:06.it is HRH Prince Abdullah Al Saud, writing this Twelve-year-old course,

:26:06. > :26:10.

:26:10. > :26:20.it Davos. -- riding this Twelve- year-old horse. They haven't got a

:26:20. > :26:24.

:26:24. > :26:34.clear round so far. The Saudi Arabian rider having one time fault.

:26:34. > :26:43.

:26:43. > :26:51.Very short distance. Another one to have that fence. We haven't seen

:26:51. > :26:57.that come down too often. Same fence that Itot du Chateau had,

:26:57. > :27:01.faults all round the course. Sometimes way you expect them.

:27:02. > :27:09.left to do, two for Great Britain, bent may next, Nick Skelton to

:27:09. > :27:16.follow. -- Ben Maher. Tension starting to mount with an amazing

:27:16. > :27:22.round from Scott Brash, it just set the whole crowd going crazy when he

:27:22. > :27:32.jumped. Two British riders, one after the other, just about to come

:27:32. > :27:42.

:27:42. > :27:52.up. It is pretty tense here at Over the time. HRH Prince Abdullah

:27:52. > :27:56.

:27:56. > :28:00.Al Saud ends up with a round that will probably send him out of the

:28:00. > :28:06.individual rounds. He has done so much for the sport of show jumping

:28:06. > :28:14.and he can certainly be very proud of his grandson here, already with

:28:15. > :28:24.that bronze medal in the back, and no doubt Kamal Bahamdan will go to

:28:25. > :28:29.

:28:29. > :28:39.the second round for said the Arabia. Here is Ben Maher. With

:28:39. > :28:41.

:28:41. > :28:44.their home-bred Tripple X. He played such a part in that team

:28:44. > :28:49.medal, as they all did. Peter Charles has not made it through to

:28:49. > :28:54.the individual. They can only have three riders permission. Peter

:28:54. > :29:04.Charles missed out on that. We have already got one Clear, could we

:29:04. > :29:43.

:29:43. > :29:53.water. It is coming up. He got away with that a raffle. Come on! --

:29:53. > :29:56.

:29:56. > :30:04.rattle. I think the judges only have been a precaution we look. --

:30:04. > :30:13.having a precautionary look. British crowd holding their breath,

:30:13. > :30:20.just got a bit forward there. He is all right for time. One down.

:30:20. > :30:25.should see him in the second round. Sadly that will put him back,

:30:26. > :30:35.probably reducing his chances of an individual medal, Ben Maher who was

:30:35. > :30:45.a great Pony Rider and then went to beat a great student in Russia and

:30:45. > :30:52.

:30:52. > :30:58.has done a great job for Great of them. And now the man who really

:30:58. > :31:06.guided Britain to that team gold medal. It is 54-year-old Nick

:31:06. > :31:16.Skelton on the nine-year-old Big Star. Can he be Britain's second

:31:16. > :31:16.

:31:16. > :32:12.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 56 seconds

:32:12. > :32:19.clear round? We have three left to in this arena at the moment. The

:32:19. > :32:29.one that matters is the one on board, Nick Skelton. Well up on the

:32:29. > :32:35.

:32:35. > :32:42.clock. He has done it! He has not hit a fence and. Listen to the

:32:42. > :32:50.crowd! Great Britain have two of the six clear rounds at the moment.

:32:50. > :32:55.It is game on for another gold here at Greenwich. Two Morton left to

:32:55. > :33:01.jump in round one, and then we go again. Well done, Nick Skelton. So,

:33:01. > :33:06.so focused. A immaculate riding. With the best horse in the world at

:33:06. > :33:12.the moment. If there is any justice, Nick was jump clear in the next

:33:12. > :33:18.round and win the gold medal. at the reaction from the squad

:33:18. > :33:24.behind. This man so nearly won a medal in Athens eight years ago,

:33:24. > :33:27.just going wrong in the very last round. Ever since then, he has been

:33:27. > :33:37.looking to have a chance to put that right, and it looks at the

:33:37. > :33:59.

:33:59. > :34:05.moment as if he could still do just Netherlands on many -- his father

:34:05. > :34:15.represented the Netherlands on many occasions. This is a very good at

:34:15. > :34:19.stallion. One of the most highly rated, second to last to go. Been

:34:19. > :34:26.clear all the way through. Picks a price to have an early fence. And

:34:26. > :34:32.another one. It is all over. He says he is not happy with his horse.

:34:32. > :34:37.Two fences down. Takes a look around, and he knows that with two

:34:37. > :34:45.offences down, he will not go through. So he retires. What

:34:45. > :34:49.disappointment. So near, yet so far for the Dutchman. The that has been

:34:49. > :34:58.the story of their championships of recent years. When they got the

:34:58. > :35:03.silver medal, the team, the way it is looking for Britain with the two

:35:03. > :35:13.clears, they have done their job so far. These pictures remind me of

:35:13. > :35:23.the Madrid Europeans last year. His father had a fall in the very last

:35:23. > :35:23.

:35:23. > :35:30.round in the Europeans, and it was very sad. His son goes out in a

:35:30. > :35:36.similar way. But the Dutch have one more to come. There is his father.

:35:36. > :35:44.Always a serious-looking face, but a lovely man behind that smile, or

:35:44. > :35:52.nearly a smile. Now we come to the last and in individual all-round A.

:35:52. > :35:57.But we have individual run B to come. The drama is not done yet.

:35:57. > :36:06.Here is a combination that are many people's idea of the challenger to

:36:06. > :36:16.Nick Skelton. The rider is 42 years old, with this lovely Dutch-bred

:36:16. > :36:17.

:36:17. > :36:22.horse. He came seventh in the Olympics four years ago on another

:36:22. > :36:30.horse that he had ridden on a number of occasions at the majors.

:36:30. > :36:35.He was in the World Equestrian Games team, but finished 40th

:36:35. > :36:45.individually. But they are a much more world-class combination now.

:36:45. > :36:46.

:36:46. > :36:53.Last to go in the first round of the Olympic individual show jumping.

:36:53. > :37:01.He chose to keep going down on the five strides. Lovely, big, athletic,

:37:01. > :37:06.powerful jumper. There is a rumour that this may have lost a shoe.

:37:06. > :37:13.Will that make a difference? It happened at the second fence, we

:37:13. > :37:16.believe. Sometimes if they lose a shoe, it is not a major problem. If

:37:16. > :37:21.there are no grass, it would make a bigger difference, because they

:37:21. > :37:25.would need the studs to get the grips. So long as his foot isn't

:37:25. > :37:35.sore, you can see he is carrying on happily. We have said it several

:37:35. > :37:38.

:37:38. > :37:44.times. This going is amazing. All the disciplines have been on it.

:37:44. > :37:49.The planners can be thrilled with the hard work that has gone on.

:37:49. > :37:55.have just had the confirmation that one of the big Dutch challengers is

:37:55. > :38:01.going out. I wonder whether that should did make a difference. Just

:38:01. > :38:08.inside the time. They finish on four faults at the end of the first

:38:08. > :38:13.round. That will be a disappointment. There is the issue.

:38:13. > :38:23.Well spotted, Clare. That may have unsettled the horse. He jumped

:38:23. > :38:24.

:38:24. > :38:30.brilliantly until the middle of the combination. Big drama again. It

:38:30. > :38:40.was the same fence that Emma had down. Really difficult to jump at

:38:40. > :38:47.one point 58. This means Britain will be the only country to have

:38:47. > :38:52.two through to the next round on a clear round. I think you can bet

:38:52. > :39:00.that the Olympic individual gold medal for show jumping will come

:39:00. > :39:05.from one of those six. Could it be He hopes so, and give him credit

:39:05. > :39:10.for that horse losing the issue. He does not miss anything. Top us

:39:10. > :39:15.through what it is like to ride a horse of the quality of may macro?

:39:15. > :39:22.It makes my job easier. So long as I get within the vicinity of the

:39:22. > :39:27.fence, he does the rest. A lot of people are struggling out there. I

:39:27. > :39:34.was holding on. He got there too soon, but he is jumping great.

:39:34. > :39:37.Whatever he does, I will not be displeased. He is brilliant. He is

:39:38. > :39:42.the outstanding horse of this competition so far. This afternoon,

:39:42. > :39:48.you will come into this arena last. What do you want to see in the

:39:48. > :39:52.course built by bob Ellis for this afternoon? For me, one thing I

:39:52. > :39:55.never got to the bottom with this horse, I have never been in a

:39:55. > :40:03.ground anywhere where I have thought I had to give him a kick

:40:03. > :40:07.because it was lacking, scope-wise. The bigger it is, the better it is.

:40:07. > :40:11.I don't think he would build anything he can't jump. The must

:40:11. > :40:16.feel like a kid again, getting to ride him. That is what is keeping

:40:16. > :40:21.me going. You are suffering a bit with a cold. I have had that very

:40:21. > :40:24.few days. Not to worry. This will get it out of the way. Do you feel

:40:24. > :40:29.you have things to put right after what happened in Athens where you

:40:29. > :40:35.thought you had a medal in the bag and your horse made mistakes?

:40:35. > :40:40.is the thing. Eight years ago, I was in the same position, last ago.

:40:40. > :40:46.And we blew it, so I don't want to do that again. What do you do

:40:46. > :40:53.different? I don't know. When riding at this level, you cannot

:40:53. > :40:58.miss a beat. Six inches off, you can have a jump down. There is so

:40:58. > :41:02.much precision. People do not understand that it is very

:41:02. > :41:08.technical. When you have a horse on your side like he is, he is doing

:41:08. > :41:14.everything to help me. He is giving it 110%, and if I give it 110, we

:41:14. > :41:18.should be OK. Good luck this afternoon. I hope we get to talk to

:41:19. > :41:22.you again in this position. Congratulations to Nick Skelton. We

:41:22. > :41:28.will go back to Clare for more information about the second round.

:41:28. > :41:33.The penalties are carried over. The top 20 go into this last round.

:41:33. > :41:37.Obviously, the course is well- suited for our British riders, with

:41:37. > :41:43.two of the six clear rounds in there, but how different will this

:41:43. > :41:50.second course be? It will be slightly shorter. Not by much, only

:41:50. > :41:56.about 20 metres. That equates to about four seconds. They have 10

:41:56. > :42:01.obstacles, 13 jumping efforts. It can be bigger. There is a double-

:42:01. > :42:09.decker bus that will be in this one, for more of the London hotspots. We

:42:09. > :42:14.have seen big bend our there. -- we have seen big bend. They are trying

:42:14. > :42:20.to reflect the British countryside and British iconic buildings. I can

:42:20. > :42:23.see the double-decker bus been prepared. Particularly with Big

:42:23. > :42:28.Star and Hello Sanctos, Scott Brash's horse, they are growing

:42:28. > :42:33.with every round. They are very fit horses, and fitness really comes

:42:33. > :42:36.into it, because they have been jumping for a few days now. With

:42:36. > :42:41.the jump-off for the team, they have been doing more than the other

:42:41. > :42:45.horses, but they are fit enough. is interesting to see how calm and

:42:45. > :42:50.relaxed both Scott and Nick are, because a lot can be transferred to

:42:50. > :42:54.the horse. And in that arena, there are so many people screaming. The

:42:54. > :43:00.horses will know what is going on and they may know what is at stake,

:43:00. > :43:04.though that might make you laugh. think the rider being confident

:43:04. > :43:08.really does help. I am really impressed with how cool Scott Brash

:43:08. > :43:14.has been. He is trying to treat it like any other competition. And it

:43:14. > :43:18.knows he has a wrong to put right, and I believe he will. It starts at

:43:18. > :43:21.3 o'clock. A quick word on the horses. Is there a stable area at

:43:21. > :43:31.the back where they can relax and have a sponge down before the

:43:31. > :43:34.

:43:35. > :43:39.The horses will have a sponge down and cool down. The cloud coming

:43:39. > :43:42.over is a real help. It is very hot here when the sun is blazing down.

:43:42. > :43:46.The spectators will get something to eat and drink as well and will

:43:46. > :43:53.come back to their seats, are raring to go. The horses will have
