:00:32. > :00:36.Welcome back. We are saddled up and ready to go to Greenwich Park.

:00:36. > :00:46.Nicola Wilson on opposition Buzz his first up for Great Britain and

:00:46. > :01:14.

:01:14. > :01:20.they are due to set off in a minute. pace. Certainly a very positive

:01:20. > :01:30.young man. It looked to me that horse ran into the water ditch on

:01:30. > :01:34.the approach and it is not deep so we got away with it. A couple of

:01:34. > :01:44.extra strides, but the horse is thinking and paying attention.

:01:44. > :02:24.

:02:24. > :02:30.jumping penalties and 43 the time. goes. Opposition Buzz. This is the

:02:30. > :02:36.4th championship, two Europeans and one worlds. They won the world's,

:02:36. > :02:40.but what can they do? This horse loves going cross-country. Normally

:02:40. > :02:46.they are good against the clock. This is an interesting round to

:02:46. > :02:54.watch now. Great line through the third. And listen to the crowd!

:02:54. > :03:04.They have gone wild. Opposition Buzz, I hope he appreciates the

:03:04. > :03:06.

:03:06. > :03:12.noise! This is the Japanese horse, refusing at the 14th fence. He goes

:03:12. > :03:17.a second time. You can only have three refusals on the course, so

:03:17. > :03:23.that is one of three used up. was disappointing because he was

:03:23. > :03:33.trying to be so careful. He just ran out of steam because he

:03:33. > :03:34.

:03:34. > :03:39.underpowered. It has been a steep learning curve for those rider. He

:03:39. > :03:48.went to Portugal in the spring. The Japanese have not got huge strength

:03:48. > :03:58.and depth. He needs to nurse the horse home. He is about halfway.

:03:58. > :04:06.

:04:06. > :04:12.Opposition Buzz now, it safely over spectacular backdrop of the City.

:04:12. > :04:22.Then this very steep downhill to the water combination.

:04:22. > :04:27.

:04:27. > :04:33.combination inside the time at the ever. 15 years old, grabbing hold

:04:33. > :04:41.of the bit. Looking controllable, and that is so important. You have

:04:41. > :04:47.got to have a horse that she can control the direction and speed. --

:04:47. > :04:50.you can control for direction and speed. He has been known to take

:04:50. > :04:55.control and gallop off. I think because at Greenwich Park there are

:04:55. > :05:05.not long, galloping stretches, so we are not seeing long, galloping

:05:05. > :05:14.

:05:14. > :05:24.stretches and she can keep him there than Nicola had planned but

:05:24. > :06:02.

:06:02. > :06:09.Linda. Sisters in the team, that horse that her younger sister is

:06:09. > :06:16.riding, which has never been seen before in the Olympic Games. Sweden

:06:16. > :06:26.were in 4th place on 128.2, 1.2 behind Britain, after the dressage,

:06:26. > :06:35.

:06:35. > :06:45.quickly over these fences. And this is Nicola Wilson in the Arena!

:06:45. > :06:45.

:06:45. > :06:53.Massive cheering. The horse loving it, look at the ears. She is just

:06:53. > :06:56.so pressing him. Just four seconds slower than Christopher Burton.

:06:56. > :07:04.This horse fits. If he can make ground on the top he just could

:07:04. > :07:09.make the time. That would be some start for Britain. This is the

:07:09. > :07:19.second quarter, fences 17 and 18. Quite the drop in. I think they

:07:19. > :07:26.will go to the left-hand side of this. Yes, a very big drop. It

:07:26. > :07:29.angles a bit left to go over the house. That is such a tricky step

:07:30. > :07:36.up, and narrow Chevron and we were concerned the horses would not read

:07:36. > :07:40.it properly and quickly enough. Opposition Buzz makes nothing of it.

:07:40. > :07:46.Nicola Wilson called in at late notice, first reserve after Piggy

:07:46. > :07:51.French. She had to withdraw two horses, so unlucky. Piggy French

:07:51. > :08:01.watching at home on television, our thoughts are with you. I am sure

:08:01. > :08:10.

:08:10. > :08:14.Japanese. He will not get home inside the time, but that will be a

:08:14. > :08:24.huge thrill for the Japanese and give them confidence for the rest

:08:24. > :08:28.

:08:28. > :08:36.because this would be there least Yes, but the most difficult part

:08:36. > :08:40.behind him. That brush corner is probably the most difficult.

:08:40. > :08:49.Opposition Buzz again. The Dow I say it, still looking full of

:08:49. > :08:56.running. -- dare I say it? Nicola Wilson patting him on the neck,

:08:56. > :09:02.keep it up! Many of the owners watching, often from the

:09:02. > :09:12.international teams. A huge party watching, nerves, biting of

:09:12. > :09:24.

:09:24. > :09:30.fingernails, doing a great job for They had an opportunity to improve

:09:30. > :09:33.earlier in the season and it seems to have worked. It is the sort of

:09:33. > :09:36.thing that means you have got to plan your route back. With all the

:09:36. > :09:46.weather it has not been easy to find the right combinations for

:09:46. > :09:47.

:09:47. > :09:56.this. My word, they have done a very good job. That is the last.

:09:56. > :10:06.Safely over. 20 jumping penalties and finishing with 40 time

:10:06. > :10:17.

:10:17. > :10:22.Richards, the first rider for New Zealand. Probably the least

:10:22. > :10:32.experienced part of the team. But very fast across the country in

:10:32. > :11:09.

:11:09. > :11:11.normal circumstances. Certainly set the fastest combination in the

:11:11. > :11:15.world, but Linda is very experienced and she has ridden in

:11:15. > :11:25.awe of the major championships. One year off because of injury last

:11:25. > :11:28.year. Keeping the pace off. Very fast through the arena, but the

:11:28. > :11:37.horse does not have the gallops right of Christopher Burton's

:11:37. > :11:47.thoroughbred. -- gallop stride. let's look at the time for Nicola!

:11:47. > :11:49.

:11:49. > :11:54.How close is she to 10 minutes? 9.33! One fence left. The crowd

:11:54. > :11:59.ducking under the branches all around the finish. She is inside at

:11:59. > :12:05.the last. She is going to be number two inside the time! Britain off to

:12:05. > :12:11.the start that they wanted! Well done Nicola Wilson. She has done it

:12:11. > :12:21.in four championships. That very definitely has given Britain the

:12:21. > :12:31.

:12:31. > :12:35.start that they wanted. An incredible start for Great

:12:35. > :12:41.Britain. Nicola Wilson 12 seconds under the time allowed a sono time

:12:41. > :12:46.penalties. The second rider for Great Britain will be Mary King in

:12:46. > :12:52.her 6th Olympics at 2 o'clock. You have to switch over to BBC Three

:12:52. > :12:58.for that. But earlier you missed seeing the men in action in the

:12:58. > :13:03.sailing, cruising into Saturday's final. Such a relaxed performance.

:13:03. > :13:07.John Inverdale caught up with the boys just after the race.

:13:07. > :13:12.Everybody seems very happy with that. What is your assessment of

:13:12. > :13:15.the race? It was a great starter for 10. We have been doing some

:13:15. > :13:20.excellent stuff in training. We think we have been going well but

:13:20. > :13:23.we have not really know. To get onto the water today and execute

:13:24. > :13:28.our race was fantastic. We are really pleased with how it unfolded.

:13:28. > :13:33.We felt in good controlled the whole way down. We are looking

:13:33. > :13:37.forward to the semi-final now. the Olympic debutant, how was it as

:13:37. > :13:42.her first Olympic experience? my first Olympic race it was just

:13:42. > :13:47.great. A great feeling out there. I feel calm and relaxed. I feel at

:13:47. > :13:52.home. As we walked in the morning, everybody was saying hello, good

:13:52. > :13:55.luck, cheers as we rode down the cause. Just incredible. Every

:13:55. > :13:59.interview I have seen from the British athletes so far have said

:13:59. > :14:06.the same thing. It makes such a difference to rear the shouting and

:14:06. > :14:11.cheering, so please keep it up. Compared to Beijing, how was that?

:14:11. > :14:15.Epic. I echo what Alex has just said. The crowd has been here when

:14:15. > :14:19.we are racing, when we are getting off the boat in the morning, doing

:14:19. > :14:23.our warm-up. It is an electric feeling. We practise so hard and so

:14:23. > :14:27.often. You have seen the journey and nothing can prepare you for how

:14:28. > :14:32.it feels of the start. We practise starting all the time and this up

:14:32. > :14:38.like a different boat, a different place, and we felt at home. -- this

:14:38. > :14:42.felt like. I know that it sounds corny, but we felt comfortable and

:14:42. > :14:45.the boat was moving underneath us and that lifted us through the

:14:45. > :14:50.first 1000 and made it a comfortable race. I am happy, I am

:14:50. > :14:56.enjoying it, and I think every man feels relaxed in the boat.

:14:56. > :15:05.about your health, all fine, Tom? will find out tomorrow! I am

:15:05. > :15:11.feeling great. My back is fine, my heart is fine. There will be

:15:11. > :15:20.another story just off the back of that. You are fine. Injured as

:15:20. > :15:25.Steve Redgrave smashers microphone in to face! The sorry. -- sorry.

:15:25. > :15:31.was a big change compared to what we saw in Munich. It was better

:15:31. > :15:34.than lucerne, when I thought the boat was moving quite well. There

:15:34. > :15:38.is a huge expectation on all the British athletes, but everyone that

:15:38. > :15:42.we have been interviewing has been relaxed. They have an easy

:15:42. > :15:47.relationship with it that is really good to see. Nobody is really

:15:47. > :15:56.panicking. Everybody is laid back. Everybody has got a deep in their

:15:56. > :16:01.eyes the seriousness of what will Did you watch the Australian

:16:01. > :16:06.performance? It looked like a pretty solid race. We know it's

:16:06. > :16:09.going to be a big fight. Like the guys have said, we've got the crowd

:16:09. > :16:14.on our side and you've got to put that in the back pocket, haven't

:16:14. > :16:23.you? The next few days, what? Training as usual this afternoon

:16:23. > :16:27.and tomorrow morning, preparing for the next race. It's on the second.

:16:27. > :16:31.Preparing for the semi-finals. We've got to stay calm and cool.

:16:31. > :16:34.Not worry about what is going on, what other crews have done today

:16:34. > :16:39.and focus on what we've been focusing on the past couple of

:16:39. > :16:43.weeks. I have the second what Steve Redgrave was saying about how

:16:43. > :16:47.relaxed orlop Team GB feels. At the gymnastics, I sense exactly the

:16:47. > :16:52.same thing. Such tense anticipation to get into the finals, the women

:16:52. > :16:56.yesterday, Beth Tweddle, the crowd carried her fruit. It got so

:16:56. > :17:01.excited that we put the men's four straight into the final. They do

:17:01. > :17:11.have to compete in the semi-final on Thursday. Now we are going back

:17:11. > :17:17.

:17:17. > :17:22.We've got two gone inside the time. Christopher Burton for Australia

:17:22. > :17:27.and great news for Britain, it is also to Nicola Wilson. Both inside

:17:27. > :17:33.the time. The time in general not proving easy to get. We are getting

:17:33. > :17:40.a sprinkling of stops, particularly from the less experienced countries.

:17:40. > :17:46.Now we are watching Gushchina riding her horse. One of the

:17:46. > :17:51.individual riders from Belarus. She has already had a refusal. That was

:17:51. > :18:01.at fence three. It has caused a few problems. It was a silly refusal

:18:01. > :18:18.

:18:18. > :18:22.because the horse is jumping so championship before. Belarus is one

:18:22. > :18:32.of the younger champion -- countries in the sport but they've

:18:32. > :19:00.

:19:00. > :19:04.front legs of the horse. It's a good idea to have it on the front

:19:04. > :19:08.legs but this horse has got it right up his chest. If he hits

:19:08. > :19:12.fences there, we are in trouble. The other problem of putting it on

:19:12. > :19:22.the horse's chest is it stops the skin breathing, so they are unable

:19:22. > :19:39.

:19:39. > :19:43.fence turn. He is a great jumping horse. He looks full of running. He

:19:43. > :19:48.is a little bit burly compared to some of the other horses. He's

:19:48. > :19:54.carrying quite a lot of condition. I hope she keeps enough energy in

:19:54. > :20:01.reserve for the latter part of the course. The penultimate fence for

:20:01. > :20:05.Richards. She had an injury. Mark Todd was working her horse and due

:20:05. > :20:09.to get married to temporise later in the year, but this will be a

:20:09. > :20:16.huge thrill at her first Olympics. She is going to be over the time.

:20:16. > :20:19.She certainly set out extremely positively. That is what makes

:20:19. > :20:25.Christopher Burton's ride so impressive because he never looked

:20:25. > :20:35.carried. He got inside the time. Richards has got along with just

:20:35. > :20:55.

:20:55. > :21:05.of the sharp angle that she was approaching that step. The worry is

:21:05. > :21:32.

:21:32. > :21:42.they don't read it and jump off to she's giving it plenty of time to

:21:42. > :21:43.

:21:43. > :21:50.get up these hills and conserve some energy. Korshunov, he was 74th

:21:50. > :21:54.after dressage. He is an individual for Russia. Russia, who in the past

:21:54. > :22:04.have had some good results in Championships, winners of European

:22:04. > :22:14.titles but never won an Olympic who has had a lot of experience in

:22:14. > :22:36.

:22:37. > :22:44.based in Britain for a number of years. She will have a lot of fans

:22:44. > :22:54.here. 12 years macro, a horse that Tina Cook had, she sold it on to

:22:54. > :23:15.

:23:15. > :23:22.was on another horse which didn't the first riders. This is the

:23:22. > :23:32.position so far. Two clear rounds from Australia and Great Britain.

:23:32. > :23:35.

:23:35. > :23:38.United States just added a few time competition really begins to unfold.

:23:39. > :23:48.That was good in the main arena. He had a really good line through

:23:49. > :24:01.

:24:01. > :24:11.there. One of the better ones. in on the left to give himself time

:24:11. > :24:32.

:24:32. > :24:38.does take time but the horses unfortunate. Out they go of their

:24:38. > :24:42.first Olympics. Belarus falls at the cricket ball basket. We could

:24:42. > :24:48.hear the basket crunch as she hid it. She just got too close and the

:24:48. > :24:52.horse hit it on the way up. It couldn't recover on landing. One of

:24:52. > :24:56.the biggest problems for riders falling off these days is their air

:24:56. > :25:00.vest explodes. Actually, he didn't get too close to it but he did

:25:00. > :25:06.leave his legs hanging and hit it rather hard. There was no way she

:25:06. > :25:10.could recover from that. The air vest is connected to the saddle of

:25:10. > :25:16.the horse. If you fall off, it releases from the saddle, there's

:25:16. > :25:20.an explosion as it fills with air very quickly. It is so tied around

:25:20. > :25:28.the Ryder, they feel winded. Sometimes the Ryder looks injured

:25:28. > :25:38.but in fact they can hardly breathe. But they do protect them. That was

:25:38. > :25:43.

:25:43. > :25:53.lost his back legs going into those logs. There is quite a turn to bat

:25:53. > :25:56.

:25:56. > :26:01.second element, and I think that's the teams will want to watch.

:26:01. > :26:05.did an amazing job to sit there, she didn't come off. If a horse

:26:05. > :26:10.loses his shoe on this beautiful ground, they've got no studs left

:26:10. > :26:14.in their feet, so slips like that can happen. I don't think that

:26:14. > :26:24.could have been called a fall. I don't think the shoulder and

:26:24. > :26:50.

:26:50. > :26:58.corners hit the ground together, so a lot. Horses could be sliding

:26:58. > :27:01.around on these terms. -- turns. They've done a fantastic job in the

:27:01. > :27:11.going here, it's all been managed for the last years since the test

:27:11. > :27:24.

:27:24. > :27:34.good lawn. But it does make it possible if you turned to quickly

:27:34. > :27:40.

:27:40. > :27:46.practising, in their shoes they have put in big studs to help them

:27:46. > :27:48.avoid slipping and sliding around the course. Some of them have been

:27:48. > :27:58.trying out different size and thickness of studs in the

:27:58. > :28:19.

:28:19. > :28:24.collecting ring. Working out the looks to be making good progress.

:28:24. > :28:28.This is where experience counts and judgment of pace. We haven't seen

:28:28. > :28:34.that in Olympics recently since the shorter format with no roads and

:28:34. > :28:39.tracks in the steeplechase. Back in 2004, the Athens Olympics, one of

:28:39. > :28:48.the first times that format took place. He is over a fence 21, seven

:28:48. > :28:58.fences from home. The horse is looking for love running. --

:28:58. > :29:09.

:29:09. > :29:12.room for error up in the last two the flower garden. But the horses

:29:12. > :29:22.are so opened up in their stride now that none of them are finding

:29:22. > :29:30.

:29:30. > :29:35.heading for the cricket ball basket, where the Belarus Ryder... He's

:29:35. > :29:44.been stopped, he's been held on the course. I wonder whether that is

:29:44. > :29:54.something to do with the fence. When the Belorussian hit the fence,

:29:54. > :30:04.they may have damaged the fence. I'm not certain of that. At the

:30:04. > :30:09.

:30:09. > :30:14.moment, Korshunov held on course. so they are holding up the course.

:30:14. > :30:20.It is 32 minutes until Mary King goes on Imperial Cavalier, which

:30:20. > :30:24.should be grit. Nicola Wilson found a great pass. She set out as the

:30:24. > :30:28.path finder and we have caught up with her to see what she made of

:30:28. > :30:33.her run. There was so much talk of the time

:30:33. > :30:38.being difficult to achieve, it does help when you are on a good horse.

:30:38. > :30:43.He is amazing, outstanding. He did not fail to give me the wow factor

:30:43. > :30:47.again today. He was unreal from start to finish. I am just so

:30:47. > :30:55.delighted, so relieved, and a little bit emotional. Who can blame

:30:55. > :31:00.you? You are the best pass find in -- path find in the world. What

:31:00. > :31:04.information have you brought back to the team? The information is

:31:04. > :31:09.that the team is phenomenal from start to finish. My watch beeps at

:31:09. > :31:14.every minute, and I could not hear it. I have to look over all the

:31:14. > :31:18.time, which was my first bit of information, how noisy everybody is,

:31:18. > :31:27.which is fabulous. Please carry on. But just where I was on the minute

:31:27. > :31:33.markers around the course, whether we had sticky moments, whether we

:31:33. > :31:36.slipped. But he did not slip once and I was over the moon with him.

:31:36. > :31:41.When you turned back, the amount of people that came rushing over to

:31:41. > :31:46.you, I was getting goose pimples over here. I know! It is lovely. It

:31:46. > :31:51.was like that all the way round the course. People screaming, shouting,

:31:51. > :31:56.hollering. I could hear it all the way round. Fantastic. You have done

:31:56. > :32:00.just what if we wanted. We are in perfect position now. Well done.

:32:01. > :32:05.Just look at the scenes behind us in front of the Olympic Stadium.

:32:05. > :32:09.There are so many people here. Such an atmosphere in the Olympic Park.

:32:09. > :32:19.Everybody grabbing their lunch. If you think that is the definition of

:32:19. > :32:19.

:32:19. > :33:23.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 64 seconds

:33:23. > :33:28.an Olympic packed lunch, think Armitstead takes silver! There you

:33:28. > :33:31.have it, the last 24 hours in 60 seconds. We are going to be doing

:33:31. > :33:35.that every day, so you can always look forward to the Olympic packed

:33:35. > :33:38.lunch. At Greenwich Park, the three-day eventing is going

:33:38. > :33:43.incredibly well for Great Britain and we are keeping our fingers

:33:43. > :33:47.crossed for Mary King. Nicola Wilson has just done exceptionally

:33:47. > :33:50.well. We have seen a passion down there. In my eyes, there really is

:33:51. > :33:55.nothing like the connection between horse and rider and we are going to

:33:55. > :34:05.have a word with one of our commentators as he explains why he

:34:05. > :34:05.

:34:06. > :34:10.loves the export so much. -- the I started riding when I was about

:34:10. > :34:15.10. There was a kid the same age as me and he let my pony up and down

:34:15. > :34:20.the drive, shouting up, down, for rising trot. Then they let you

:34:20. > :34:23.loose going over the hills for an hour on the horse. It was a bit

:34:23. > :34:33.intimidating and scary but I was hooked from then on because I quite

:34:33. > :34:34.

:34:34. > :34:39.After that, I spend every possible minute that I could at the Ridings

:34:39. > :34:44.School. We did not really have the money to pay for lots and lots of

:34:44. > :34:48.lessons. If I hung around long enough and I did a lot of work at

:34:49. > :34:52.the stables, then at the end of the day we got to ride bareback and put

:34:52. > :34:57.the horses in the field, a mile away from the stables. When the

:34:57. > :35:02.owner of the stables was a way for the day, then a group of us used to

:35:02. > :35:08.make collars out of string and go and catch the ponies in the field

:35:08. > :35:13.and have raised his bare back. That was my introduction to riding. --

:35:13. > :35:17.races bareback. It may be hungrier that it was not handed to me on a

:35:17. > :35:22.plate and I had to work jolly hard for it. I loved making horses go

:35:23. > :35:28.better. I seemed to have a knack for it. Valley was one of the first

:35:28. > :35:31.people that ever sent me a horse to compete and ride. That was quite a

:35:31. > :35:37.long time ago. Certainly over 40 years. Then maybe we should not

:35:37. > :35:42.talk about that! You can see it in somebody, they have it or they have

:35:42. > :35:47.not, and you had it from the word go. Balance, hands, and very bold,

:35:47. > :35:53.that was the other thing. It is just really hard to explain. You go

:35:54. > :36:00.from being biscuit that his riding everybody and anybody's horses then

:36:00. > :36:07.you are part of the Olympics, in the British team. -- from being

:36:07. > :36:12.this Kate riding everybody and anybody's horses. That is

:36:12. > :36:17.remarkably good! That was the first one, Los Angeles. Getting the

:36:17. > :36:21.silver medal and standing on the podium was incredible. I think

:36:21. > :36:28.probably there were some tears shed, but it was one of the proudest

:36:28. > :36:36.moments of my life. This is a well deserved moment indeed for the

:36:36. > :36:42.Flying Scotsman himself. children with the Olympic medals

:36:42. > :36:49.after 88. The amazing. I do not know where time goes, really.

:36:49. > :36:53.are my grandchildren. Off you go. Do you want to sit on him? No?

:36:53. > :37:00.Whatever I am now, 58, I still have to pinch myself and think about

:37:00. > :37:05.what my life and career has been. Well I started, the humble

:37:05. > :37:15.beginnings, and how incredibly lucky I have been. I could get

:37:15. > :37:17.

:37:17. > :37:27.If you would like to get involved in Olympic sports, ago to the BBC

:37:27. > :37:33.That was a great story. Amongst all this Polish, it is nice to go back

:37:33. > :37:36.to the stable yard and feel the mark. It makes me feel at home! We

:37:36. > :37:40.saw the men before they cruised into the semi-final with no trouble

:37:40. > :37:46.at all earlier. John Inverdale has caught up with three rowers from

:37:46. > :37:55.the historic four that we are all in awe of. This is a coxless for,

:37:55. > :38:00.at least a coxless three. -- coccus four passed to talk about the three

:38:01. > :38:04.coxless three present. That is the best that I have seen that

:38:04. > :38:09.combination row. I hope they will step on through the regatta because

:38:09. > :38:14.the Australians also looked good. It is set up for a fantastic clash

:38:14. > :38:18.in the final, us against Australia for the gold medal for sure. James?

:38:18. > :38:26.There are two things that I think. Australia in the first heat, they

:38:26. > :38:29.will get another heat winner, so we could meet before the final, so

:38:29. > :38:33.they could be a semi-final showdown which could be interesting. The

:38:33. > :38:36.Brits look very good in the middle and better in the first minute than

:38:36. > :38:40.the Australians, which is what I was looking for in the heats. We

:38:40. > :38:44.both knew they would win their heats, but it was he went out most

:38:44. > :38:51.quickly from the blocks. Something for nothing from the blocks. They

:38:51. > :39:01.looked good, as did the Australians, I thought. But there was a rambling

:39:01. > :39:02.

:39:02. > :39:08.engine beneath our boat. -- rumbling. Who is ahead on points?

:39:08. > :39:14.Pretty even. Most people would put the Australians on top because they

:39:14. > :39:20.were the winners of the last race. But as James says, our guys have

:39:20. > :39:24.got the power. If this was turned round the other way, the winds,

:39:24. > :39:28.then there would just be one winner, but it is up for grabs. There is

:39:28. > :39:33.the inevitable media speculation, as against them, Britain against

:39:33. > :39:42.Australia, so there is an added something. How do their guides

:39:42. > :39:46.switch off over the next few days? -- the guys. Turn off the telephone,

:39:46. > :39:50.don't read the newspaper, turn off the television. You cannot do that.

:39:50. > :39:54.It was easier for us in the Foreign Olympics. In Sydney we were stuck

:39:55. > :39:59.with watching terrible Australian television. They were not talking

:39:59. > :40:03.about us. But these guys will have the BBC and the build up pieces and

:40:03. > :40:07.all of that. They will do well to avoid it all. This is a serious

:40:07. > :40:12.point, who did not have Twitter and everything, people are urging you

:40:12. > :40:17.every five seconds with good luck this, what about that? Some of us

:40:17. > :40:20.still do not have Twitter! Switch of the telephone, change the number,

:40:20. > :40:26.don't go on Twitter. It will all be great afterwards with a gold medal

:40:26. > :40:32.round your neck and that is all that matters. James? I think the

:40:32. > :40:38.big difference from them in Beijing and from us when we raced is the

:40:39. > :40:48.programme has changed. The four used to be in Group A, so you would

:40:48. > :40:55.be on the first I will stay. Now they are in the last day of four. -

:40:56. > :40:59.- you would be on the first finals day. They are champing at the bit.

:40:59. > :41:03.We were always racing for next day, and that is the difference. They

:41:03. > :41:08.have to wait around for the heat and then they have to wait around

:41:08. > :41:14.where everybody else is picking up medals and getting a drink.

:41:14. > :41:17.never had the strength to carry the flag. I may not have been asked. I

:41:18. > :41:23.turned my telephone off too early! I could have lit the flame if I had

:41:23. > :41:29.not turned it off! There were no mobile telephones in my day.

:41:29. > :41:36.Carrier pigeons! Are you more optimistic about their prospects

:41:36. > :41:40.today having seen both the races? No changes? Coming into the regatta,

:41:40. > :41:44.I would have put the Australians as marginal favourites. Now I think I

:41:44. > :41:49.would put us slightly ahead by the same amount, but we are talking

:41:49. > :41:55.tiny amounts. And as you say, it is all speculation. There is an old

:41:55. > :41:59.rowing is saying, it stops when the flag drops. We can talk about it as

:41:59. > :42:02.much as we like but until we see them racing side by side with the

:42:02. > :42:06.medals waiting for them at this end of the lake, we cannot know for

:42:06. > :42:10.sure. We will keep talking for the next few days. Thank you.

:42:10. > :42:15.It will be an anxious wait until Saturday. I am sure they will crews

:42:15. > :42:21.through the semi-final on Thursday as well. We are sure they can beat

:42:21. > :42:26.the Australians on Saturday. You are wearing a lovely shirt,

:42:26. > :42:33.Jake Humphrey! Michelle is same was wearing pink as well. Did you not

:42:33. > :42:40.get the email? This is the uniform! You are taking over on BBC One

:42:40. > :42:44.shortly. In did. It will be exciting. It has been so close. --

:42:44. > :42:51.indeed. Any time penalties this afternoon, and Mary King going

:42:51. > :42:55.shortly and Zara Phillips as well... 2 o'clock Mary King. Good

:42:55. > :43:00.knowledge! The time penalties will really affect the medals. We are

:43:00. > :43:03.looking forward to bringing people that. Also handball. People have

:43:03. > :43:08.been getting into handball these Games because Great Britain have

:43:08. > :43:18.not competed before. It is good and I like the action going on with the

:43:18. > :43:19.

:43:19. > :43:28.start ups. Britain's of -- women play Russia. And of course peat.

:43:28. > :43:32.is nice for them to sense the home crowd. There is so much pressure on

:43:32. > :43:37.Tom Daley and Pete. To get a medal would be amazing for them, it does

:43:37. > :43:40.not have to be gold. The home crowd will carry them through, if the

:43:40. > :43:45.gymnastics have been anything to go by. That will be amazing for you as

:43:45. > :43:49.well. That starts for us at 4:30pm. I am leaving now, to go to the
