:01:12. > :01:16.That was the final 12 months ago, in glorious sunshine. How we could

:01:16. > :01:21.do with that today. But Andy Murray winning the second Queen's title,

:01:21. > :01:28.he beat Joe well for Tonga and those two great shot make his are

:01:28. > :01:31.back again and are seeded to meet in the final. But we hope it starts

:01:31. > :01:37.today, weather permitting. Talking of the weather, not much to say

:01:37. > :01:43.about it. It is cold and wet and miserable. We are just coming on

:01:43. > :01:50.for a brief report. Andrew and John are here to lighten the mood.

:01:50. > :01:54.weeks until the Wimbledon final! Also playing havoc as far as the

:01:54. > :01:59.rest of the tennis calendar. Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal battling

:01:59. > :02:03.history as well as each other, it is much point at the moment to

:02:03. > :02:08.Rafael Nadal, he broke as he came back when they came back on court

:02:08. > :02:18.today but it has not been easy for them. In what has been a massive,

:02:18. > :02:18.

:02:18. > :02:24.massive match. What a nightmare for the weather to be awful. If if you

:02:24. > :02:32.want to listen to it it is on Radio 5, of course. The whole story about

:02:32. > :02:38.Novak Djokovic and this idea of doing things back in history, how

:02:38. > :02:46.many Grand Slams will he have won, but if Novak Djokovic can win...

:02:46. > :02:50.Can you not hear the cheer outside? were to see you it has been for

:02:50. > :02:53.Novak Djokovic. Rafael Nadal will have been thinking exclusively

:02:53. > :02:59.since losing against him in the Wimbledon final, he will be

:02:59. > :03:02.thinking, "I have got to beat this guy". He is representing a new type

:03:02. > :03:06.of challenge. To have three players playing at the same time who have

:03:06. > :03:10.the same chance when their career is over, possibly to be taught

:03:10. > :03:15.about as the greatest of all time... Always this debate but three

:03:15. > :03:18.playing at the same time. All great ambassadors and players. Do you

:03:18. > :03:22.remember, you were talking about what a Federer, nobody will ever

:03:22. > :03:27.equal what he has done and then along come Rafael Nadal and start

:03:27. > :03:32.taking control and now Novak Djokovic is number one, we are so

:03:32. > :03:37.lucky. To be witnessing this. Rafael Nadal winning that, if he

:03:37. > :03:41.had lost that one, lots of people talking about records but if he had

:03:41. > :03:48.lost to Novak Djokovic on clay in Paris, his home, then you would

:03:48. > :03:54.have thought that the domination of Rafael Nadal might be... To knows

:03:54. > :03:57.how many more he can win? This entire clay-court season, Rafael

:03:57. > :04:03.Nadal has look like a man possessed. They look like they are pushing

:04:03. > :04:07.each other. Can Roger Federer compete on the grass? People asking

:04:07. > :04:12.is his time over after he lost in the semi-finals but you can never

:04:12. > :04:15.write Roger Federer off. No, but I would say he is number three.

:04:15. > :04:20.Looking at the year when it started, I thought Wimbledon was his best

:04:20. > :04:24.chance to win a Slam and two have already gone but I think he has got

:04:24. > :04:28.a great shot. He has got two shots, Wimbledon and the Olympic game.

:04:28. > :04:32.What about a Roger Federer double for that? He will have to be so

:04:32. > :04:39.technically sound on grass. He could yet get involved in this

:04:39. > :04:42.scrap. But at the moment the top two of Roger Federer and Rafael

:04:42. > :04:45.Nadal, I think Andy Murray is in the wrong era. We will have a

:04:45. > :04:49.wonderful summer of tennis but we have extended that incredibly

:04:49. > :04:59.because of the Olympics. The players are really talking about

:04:59. > :04:59.

:04:59. > :05:04.her special that will Pete. There's always been a debate about tennis

:05:04. > :05:07.at the Olympics but it will always be special and they are all keen.

:05:07. > :05:11.As Andy Murray has said, it might be more important than winning

:05:11. > :05:16.Wimbledon. It was one of the sport that was first in the modern

:05:16. > :05:20.Olympiad and then it dropped out and then they put it back in again

:05:20. > :05:24.in Los Angeles and then I was lucky enough to play in Barcelona, it was

:05:24. > :05:29.still building but now it has, it has got players support absolutely

:05:29. > :05:32.and the extra thing of playing at Wimbledon will mean players will

:05:32. > :05:40.play for their lives. By Anne youngsters growing up will see all

:05:40. > :05:45.the top players playing at the Olympics -- and all the youngsters.

:05:45. > :05:49.Yes and all the top guys will play there. We congratulate Rafael Nadal

:05:50. > :05:53.at the French Open, seven victories there but we will remain optimistic

:05:53. > :06:01.here and try because this is the order of play if we get any play

:06:01. > :06:08.today. David Nalbandian, the No. 10 seed first and if Ivo Karlovic up

:06:08. > :06:12.against Lleyton Hewitt. And Marcos Baghdatis, a lot of points to

:06:12. > :06:17.defend reaching the semi-final 12 months ago. That is what we are

:06:17. > :06:21.hoping for if these dark clouds ever do move away and later in the

:06:21. > :06:29.week, we will be featuring the number-one seed and the world No. 4,

:06:29. > :06:33.Andy Murray. Let's hear what he spoke to about with Andrew Cotter.

:06:33. > :06:40.First of all, a status update on the back, is that ready to go?

:06:40. > :06:45.feel much better. The grass will be good for me. A bit more forgiving

:06:45. > :06:50.on the body and some of the other surfaces. We have had a few days of

:06:50. > :06:54.good practice. Does it give you a lift when you get on to grass and

:06:54. > :06:58.shake the clay from your shoes? do look forward to the grass court

:06:58. > :07:02.season but I enjoyed the clay in the past few years. By a couple of

:07:02. > :07:08.good runs, the French Open and I enjoy the surface. It's good for

:07:08. > :07:13.your game and helps to improve the lot. I have heard a lot of stuff

:07:13. > :07:19.about my game on the clay, so it is very interesting to go into the

:07:19. > :07:25.grass court season. I suppose you can stay at home and get into

:07:25. > :07:32.familiar habits. Getting into a normal routine, that can sometimes

:07:32. > :07:37.be difficult. Other tournaments. But I enjoy the next the months. I

:07:38. > :07:41.enjoy the tennis, you good time with your friends and family. It is

:07:41. > :07:46.fairly relaxed in that respect. Obviously more demands on your time

:07:46. > :07:50.as you build up to Wimbledon but I have always enjoyed the grass court

:07:50. > :07:57.stretch. It has been said that no matter how much pressure the

:07:57. > :08:01.British public put on you, you put even more pressure upon yourself.

:08:01. > :08:05.That is what the good players do. Going into the Grand Slams and the

:08:05. > :08:11.big event, it you put pressure on yourself to do well and that is why

:08:12. > :08:16.you put the hard work in in the gym and the practise court. That is

:08:16. > :08:19.what we look forward to during the year. We always put pressure on

:08:19. > :08:26.ourselves going into the big tournaments. How things coming

:08:26. > :08:29.together with Ivan Lendl? He will be working with you closely and

:08:29. > :08:34.perhaps more closely than he has been able to in the rest of the

:08:34. > :08:41.season forced up he has been looking at the grass court stretch

:08:41. > :08:47.and we spent three weeks over in Paris together as well. That was on

:08:47. > :08:50.top of Monte Carlo and Barcelona so we spent a lot of time together.

:08:50. > :08:56.This period is going to be important for my year, not just

:08:56. > :08:59.with Wimbledon but that the Olympics afterwards as well. The

:08:59. > :09:02.more time I can spend with him over the next few months, the better.

:09:02. > :09:12.What has it been like having him in your corner, trade secrets, what

:09:12. > :09:16.does he bring? Is it a technical thing? He is obviously going to

:09:16. > :09:24.have that, having played so many big matches and prepared for so

:09:24. > :09:31.many big events during his career. He understands had to do that. He

:09:31. > :09:37.understands nerves and pressure and understands when you are feeling

:09:37. > :09:45.tired or when you have a niggle. That extra bit of experience, it is

:09:45. > :09:52.good having him around. On top of that, tactically he played a lot of

:09:52. > :09:55.matches himself so he understands the game very well. Technically,

:09:55. > :09:58.there's not a whole lot you can change in the middle of your career,

:09:58. > :10:04.that is more for when you're younger but we have worked on many

:10:04. > :10:12.different things. Do you enjoy working with him? He does have a

:10:12. > :10:19.bit of a stony the near. Yes, I have enjoyed working with him.

:10:19. > :10:26.stony out luck. I got to know him a little bit and talking about tennis

:10:26. > :10:32.because lot of people have turned to me, you need to get a former top

:10:32. > :10:37.player or whatever. It is not just about that, you need to get on with

:10:37. > :10:41.the person which is also very important for a successful

:10:41. > :10:46.relationship. After the first few times I met him, I knew we got on

:10:46. > :10:50.well and he has fitted into the team very well. A bit of rain,

:10:51. > :10:56.there might be a bit of this over the next few weeks. What do you do

:10:56. > :11:02.when you are off court? A bit of Scrabble? Normally there is a fair

:11:02. > :11:06.amount of rain during Queen's. They have got a player lounge, table

:11:06. > :11:11.tennis, a pool table, some PlayStations so everybody just

:11:11. > :11:15.hangs out there and you have got to try to take your mind off the

:11:15. > :11:25.tennis a bit. If you are there the whole day worrying about the match,

:11:25. > :11:33.

:11:33. > :11:36.it can be quite tiring. man on court. I think that was the

:11:36. > :11:40.whole Keith. We have talked about it over the past couple of years, I

:11:40. > :11:44.think the main problem with Andy Murray has been the mental side,

:11:44. > :11:50.getting on his side in vital situations, sometimes looking for

:11:50. > :11:54.excuses at times and I think he needed to find someone of his

:11:54. > :12:01.stature to basic he say, "don't waste your energy on this, it has

:12:01. > :12:06.to be all positive". The French Open, he has definitely improved,

:12:06. > :12:10.he seems to be a much more positive level. And if he is going to

:12:10. > :12:16.compete with Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal, you

:12:17. > :12:26.can't keep negative. We are talking about a point or two here or there.

:12:27. > :12:27.

:12:27. > :12:34.He massed won forehand and something like that, -- he missed

:12:34. > :12:38.one forehand. That is what Ivan Lendl can bring to him. He brings

:12:38. > :12:43.an iron man quality to it. He has taken the forehand a little earlier,

:12:43. > :12:47.taking risks earlier in the rally, keeping the rallies a bit shorter.

:12:47. > :12:51.Perhaps when they get on court, he will continue to move up the court

:12:51. > :12:56.a bit and take it daily. I think there's a real trust between them

:12:56. > :13:01.and I hope it lasts. As we talked about, the top three are galloping

:13:01. > :13:06.away from everything and Andy is the one clinging on to it. He is,

:13:06. > :13:11.but it is close. He has not won 1 yet. That is what everybody is

:13:11. > :13:17.talking about. The margins are so small and I've always believed

:13:17. > :13:20.grass was his best shot and I still believe that. It's taking the

:13:20. > :13:26.initiative, getting his serve right, I think he will have a great

:13:26. > :13:31.Wimbledon. It is really close and I still believe he will win a Slam. A

:13:31. > :13:35.in the 2009 semi-final against Andy Roddick, that was a match. Such a

:13:35. > :13:40.narrow margins. The older you get, the more you know the situation you

:13:40. > :13:45.are in is a big one. And a real opportunity. Sooner rather than

:13:45. > :13:50.later if you don't mind because one or two people around like millers

:13:50. > :13:54.round it from Canada, these guys are getting better. Also a new

:13:54. > :13:58.generation to take it away from me. We are complaining about the

:13:58. > :14:02.weather but as far as the football is concerned, what a summer we are

:14:02. > :14:09.looking forward to. They have got the opposite, it is boiling over

:14:09. > :14:16.there, 30 Celsius. Even at that time, you will be able to hear live

:14:16. > :14:22.coverage of France versus England as they take their campaign. And

:14:22. > :14:25.Ukraine versus Sweden, that is at 7 o'clock. And then we will be hoping

:14:25. > :14:31.that we will be back with some tennis later on but I have to say

:14:31. > :14:35.looking at it, it is not looking likely. Not looking good today.

:14:35. > :14:40.Chris Kermode and the commentators were talking quite seriously about

:14:40. > :14:44.the commentators, but you have to have patience. Patience indeed and

:14:44. > :14:47.we will hopefully bring you some tennis later from the AEGON

:14:47. > :14:52.Championships but the big tennis is as far as we're concerned today is
