:01:03. > :01:06.Nathaniel. The bird has flown and Winners for Jamie Spencer and for

:01:06. > :01:11.William Buick welcome to coverage on BBC Two. Willie Carson and

:01:11. > :01:18.myself are here and the whole team. Hello.

:01:18. > :01:22.Three more races and the final one on the Red Button. The next is the

:01:22. > :01:28.group one, four fillies over a mile. One guy hoping that he will see the

:01:28. > :01:36.belief that he has in his filly which is Martin Dwyer.

:01:36. > :01:41.Yes, Martin Dwyer missed out riding Theyskens' Theory in September and

:01:41. > :01:47.in the breeders Breeders' Cup and you picked up a nasty injury at

:01:47. > :01:51.nester. Tell us about that? I was trying to forget about that? I

:01:51. > :01:56.broke my hand and elbow. How long were you out for? Four

:01:56. > :02:01.months. It took a long time to get back because elbows are tricky.

:02:01. > :02:05.She is worth coming back for. She won at York and it was impressive.

:02:05. > :02:09.Yeah, it was a drop in grade, it was a listed race, but she did it

:02:09. > :02:12.very well. She won easily. It was a nice come back race for her.

:02:12. > :02:18.She was big and strong last year and always looked if this year she

:02:18. > :02:23.would do better. Is that fair? year she was taller than her rivals

:02:23. > :02:26.and grew and grew. She is is one for the future.

:02:26. > :02:30.What do you make of the conditions for her today? It is soft ground,

:02:30. > :02:34.but they have moved the railings so it is a fresh fresh strip there.

:02:34. > :02:38.She won on soft ground and finished third here last year on good to

:02:38. > :02:44.soft ground and I am sure she will cope with it and she has stamina

:02:44. > :02:48.and she has an excellent chance. There is the American runner More

:02:48. > :02:52.Than Real who won the Breeders' Cup on turf. Who would be the horses

:02:52. > :02:56.that you are most scared of? I was worried about the American horse

:02:56. > :02:59.until it started raining. I am not sure whether her form will stand up

:02:59. > :03:09.on a surface like this. She would never have experienced soft ground

:03:09. > :03:13.ground racing in the States, all her form is on top of the ground.

:03:13. > :03:19.The Culmore is the horse we have to beat. I have a lot of confidence in

:03:19. > :03:22.my filly and she has only a length- and-a-half to find. You have

:03:22. > :03:26.convinced me. Good luck. Thanks.

:03:26. > :03:30.More on our big race shortly. We are wandering around and having a

:03:30. > :03:35.look at the fashion, sheltering from the rain in the bar. These are

:03:35. > :03:40.some of the sights that we have seen today as we have been

:03:40. > :03:45.wandering around. It is an unusual shaped hat? She does this wonderful

:03:45. > :03:51.spin that shows the back and in millinery it is all angles, it is

:03:51. > :03:57.360 degrees. This lady has a beautiful tunic. This was a

:03:57. > :04:00.detailed and embroidered coat. Look at those rich coloursment very

:04:00. > :04:05.finished off look. I like the sophistication of this and of

:04:05. > :04:11.course, that really big wide- brimmed hat carries it off. This is

:04:11. > :04:14.not a full length tunic, it is a detailed piece as well. These boys

:04:14. > :04:19.with manners, I adored this and it is men's Day today. Look at this

:04:19. > :04:22.and the cheeky smile to go with it. I loved that and it really is

:04:22. > :04:30.showing the real spirit of what today is about. I adored that.

:04:30. > :04:33.Really having fun at cot cot. At Ascot is for everybody so we have

:04:33. > :04:42.some down to the bar to have a chat with a few of the guys and the

:04:43. > :04:50.girls down here. Louis found these lovely fellas.

:04:50. > :04:55.Are you enjoying Ascot? Loving it. The previous race, I won. I will be

:04:56. > :05:01.collecting my winnings in a bit. I might be hanging out for a bit.

:05:01. > :05:08.Is it your first time here? No, I came came for Ladies' Day last year.

:05:08. > :05:17.Where are you from? Essex. You look as if you are dispelling

:05:17. > :05:21.the myth myth "the only way is Essex.". Shut-up.

:05:22. > :05:26.Paul put a sharp look together. Tell me about the waistcoat.

:05:26. > :05:31.It is a silk waistcoat. I tried to go with the grey and the blue and

:05:31. > :05:37.keep it subtle really. You have your little accessories to match. I

:05:37. > :05:41.notice the hanky here. He matched his eyes with the outfit.

:05:41. > :05:45.He put his eyes in for the outfit this morning, the other way around!

:05:45. > :05:49.You have been here before. Do you think very much about what you are

:05:49. > :05:53.going to wear? Or pull a suit out of the wardrobe? Just keep it

:05:53. > :05:58.simple. A lot of people try to overdo the look. If you keep it

:05:58. > :06:02.simple, you can't go wrong really. This is your first time at Ascot?

:06:02. > :06:11.No, my second time. I prefer it on Ladies' Day.

:06:11. > :06:16.Why? A lot more ladies really! A bit more male oren tated.

:06:16. > :06:21.You have come on then official Gentlemans Day. What about the

:06:21. > :06:27.ladies that you are seeing? They are all lovely, yeah.

:06:27. > :06:33.I thought you said, "They all love me." I did say that, but I tried to

:06:34. > :06:38.roll in they are all lovely. Suzi is looking lovely today.

:06:38. > :06:42.us, when you come to Royal Ascot, are you here for the horses, is it

:06:42. > :06:46.a whole event for you you? It is a mixture.

:06:46. > :06:50.It is an all day day thing with your friends. There is a few birds

:06:50. > :06:54.and drinks. It is a nice day. Other than the weather, it is perfect

:06:54. > :06:58.really. The weather is is letting us down a

:06:58. > :07:02.bit. Guys, you look very dapper. You

:07:02. > :07:06.better go and pick up your betting money.

:07:06. > :07:11.You know what, there is a lady with a super hat over here. Let's run

:07:11. > :07:18.around here. I know, let's squish through. Can you come towards us,

:07:18. > :07:23.please? I adore this lady over here. We love your hat. Thank you. The

:07:23. > :07:28.hat is by a designer in York and she made it especially for me.

:07:28. > :07:31.You have gone with a lace jacket, the idea I had yesterday with the

:07:31. > :07:40.Anthony Price. It is all high street.

:07:40. > :07:44.Where is it from? Karen Millen and French Connection.

:07:44. > :07:49.Did you get the hat first? I got the hat first.

:07:49. > :07:52.Me being a milliner I am biased, but sometimes you have to tie in

:07:52. > :07:59.the whole outfit together and that's what is really important and

:07:59. > :08:02.it is about the detail. When I was talking about a 360 degrees that's

:08:02. > :08:05.crucial because you are being photographed from so many angles

:08:05. > :08:10.and it is about carrying yourself off and I remember seeing you

:08:10. > :08:16.arrive and you looked so polished and so comfortable when you arrived.

:08:16. > :08:22.Can you do a twirl and see what Louis is talking about.

:08:22. > :08:27.The hair is perfect. Again, I was talking about hair and

:08:27. > :08:31.millinery. Of course, it is a wonderful clean neck line and it is

:08:31. > :08:34.important not to overclutter the neck line with jewellery because

:08:34. > :08:37.there is a lot happening at the top and with the outfit so giving it

:08:37. > :08:41.that clean break with the neck, it is crucial.

:08:41. > :08:45.What is your name? Maria. Maria, you are dressed beautiful

:08:45. > :08:51.today. A quick word, would you mind?

:08:51. > :08:57.You're doing the block colour in such an incredible way. And it is

:08:57. > :09:03.not even shining. Where are you going, Louis.

:09:03. > :09:08.What's your name? I'm Ellie. Tell us about your hat? I had my

:09:08. > :09:15.hat made. My dress is from Zara, 50, bargain.

:09:15. > :09:21.You are rocking the high street. What about the earrings? Hidden

:09:21. > :09:26.under this lovely mane of hair it is beautiful. Another tip about

:09:26. > :09:33.hair, if you are wearing your hair down, bring the hair to this side

:09:33. > :09:37.and then what you are doing is bring the beautiful photographic

:09:37. > :09:41.silhouette. Thank you. A splash of everything

:09:41. > :09:49.there. Good luck with the next race. I'm

:09:49. > :09:54.So from the fashion stakes to the Coronation Stakes. What I love

:09:54. > :10:00.about Ascot is the tradition here. Races have been run for 300 years

:10:00. > :10:05.and this race, the Coronation Stakes was founded in 1840 to

:10:05. > :10:08.commemorate the crowning of Queen Victoria. So a lot of good fillies

:10:08. > :10:18.won this and a lot of history to the race.

:10:18. > :10:18.

:10:18. > :11:07.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 48 seconds

:11:07. > :11:11.series. This race will feature the best

:11:11. > :11:13.fillies in Europe and it is the first time they will meet on a

:11:13. > :11:18.beautiful racecourse. The race can be scrappy because fillies, you

:11:18. > :11:24.need to be covered up to give them a chance to finish this stiff track

:11:24. > :11:29.over a mile. Usually you get some traffic problems around the bend

:11:29. > :11:35.because everybody wants to get their position and one or two off

:11:35. > :11:45.the rail is a big advantage. It is a three furlong strait so you have

:11:45. > :12:02.

:12:02. > :12:07.plenty of time to find yourself in When I picked the paper up, I

:12:07. > :12:17.thought it was a big price. 11-2 together with Ladbrokes. They went

:12:17. > :12:21.

:12:21. > :12:26.11-2. Ryan Moore opened up 4-1. 4-1, Ryan, we need you to ride this one,

:12:26. > :12:30.mate. Willie and I take ago closer look

:12:30. > :12:35.at the fillies in the paddock ahead of the Coronation Stakes and the

:12:35. > :12:45.flashy American contender, More Than Real. She hasn't won since she

:12:45. > :12:46.

:12:46. > :12:51.won the Breeders' Cup for fillies. She is flashy because she has a

:12:51. > :12:59.white bridle. She has a neon light of a bridle on. She looks fit and

:12:59. > :13:05.she is musclely. I know she hasn't ran for 224 day, but she looks as

:13:05. > :13:10.if she has done plenty of work. And there is Memory.

:13:10. > :13:16.Number 9 is Memory. She didn't want to race last time. Well, she

:13:16. > :13:20.thought she was, you know, Con cord because she stayed in the stalls at

:13:20. > :13:24.Newmarket. Hamlet? She did the hamlet advert

:13:24. > :13:28.very well, but she tried to give them a furlong start in the guineas

:13:28. > :13:33.at Newmarket, but she wasn't able to do so. I would think wait and

:13:33. > :13:43.see and see what she does today, but for me, she wouldn't be a

:13:43. > :13:43.

:13:43. > :13:49.bridle, it is the colours. So much brighter they are allowed to be in

:13:49. > :13:58.America and those are the colours of Bobby Flay and you can see the

:13:58. > :14:05.owner's name is embroidered on to the colours. Bobby Flay is a chef.

:14:05. > :14:09.He is on TV. He is King Of The Grill. He is passionate about his

:14:09. > :14:13.racing and it is more than a passing fancy. Bobby, good to see

:14:13. > :14:17.you here and good luck with this horse? Thank you. I am happy to be

:14:17. > :14:22.here. We want to win. You know, we want to shock the world a little

:14:22. > :14:25.bit. It is very rare that an American three-year-old filly can

:14:25. > :14:29.come over here and compete in the coronation because the competition

:14:29. > :14:32.is fierce. She won the Breeders' Cup and we gave her the winter off

:14:32. > :14:36.and she is very fresh and I'm watching her go by and she is

:14:36. > :14:46.terrific. She is on her toes and we want to give a good showing.

:14:46. > :14:47.

:14:47. > :14:50.She won the Breeders' Cup. You are the king of the grill? Thank you so

:14:50. > :14:54.much. This is getting embarrassing now.

:14:54. > :15:00.Clare, you can go! I will chat to Bobby for a moment.

:15:00. > :15:10.I am a massive fan of yours. I have watched all your programmes!

:15:10. > :15:19.

:15:19. > :15:24.I might just leave them. Seb Sanders trying to get ready. It

:15:24. > :15:33.is starting to rain that's why a lot of us are putting our macs on.

:15:33. > :15:40.It will be an interesting race. They have Joviality in this race.

:15:40. > :15:46.Aidan O'Brien is over here chatting to Ryan Moore. They team up with

:15:46. > :15:50.Together. Those are the colours of Derek Smith, the purple ones which

:15:50. > :15:56.have been puck sesful for Ryan Moore -- suck he isful for Ryan

:15:56. > :15:59.Moore on Power. I'm really fascinated to see Willie, Memory

:15:59. > :16:05.because she was a filly, I thought she would run really well in the

:16:05. > :16:09.guineas and I think she would have done if she jump out of the stalls.

:16:09. > :16:13.She Disgraced herself and she is a watch and look and listen sort of

:16:13. > :16:18.thing today. She was a good two- year-old, we know, but that was

:16:18. > :16:23.last year. Richard Hannon Junior is here. I

:16:23. > :16:27.was talking about Memory and I know your father said you did a lot of

:16:27. > :16:31.schooling with her at home. Have but working with her at home?

:16:31. > :16:36.took her to Salisbury last week and she was with two other horses of

:16:36. > :16:40.ours then and she jumped out of the stalls lovely. It was a normal race

:16:40. > :16:46.day. There is no reason to think she won't, she is a talented filly,

:16:46. > :16:52.but she is a little bit of a madam. It is not the best Coronation for

:16:52. > :16:57.years. It depends how the Americans do?

:16:57. > :17:02.Their colours stand out. We have two sets of American colours that

:17:02. > :17:08.will glow in the dark? There is a big crowd. As long as she runs the

:17:08. > :17:14.race, I am happy. I just hope she runs. Me too!

:17:14. > :17:20.Willie, let's continue discussing this race. Richard thinking he

:17:20. > :17:28.doesn't think it is a great Coronation. That's the French filly.

:17:28. > :17:35.She is short backed. She will run a good race that French filly. There

:17:35. > :17:41.is Memory there. She is a lovely walker, isn't she? Are you OK now?

:17:41. > :17:45.I am a massive fan of his. I always wanted to meet him. I love grilled

:17:45. > :17:50.meats. Sorry, we shouldn't be talk being it now. Professionalism, I

:17:50. > :17:56.looked at Together. What did you think of her?

:17:56. > :18:02.looked warm and sweaty like Nathaniel. It looks like you are a

:18:02. > :18:12.fan of The Grill. Stop it Willie! Let's look at the market. The

:18:12. > :18:23.

:18:23. > :18:29.fillies are making their way on to isn't there? Every time they put up

:18:29. > :18:34.a bigger price they keep knocking it off. Here we go. The fillies and

:18:34. > :18:43.this field of 13 is led out on to the course by Barefoot Lady. Paul

:18:43. > :18:49.Hanagan has been replaced by Kieron Fallon. Paul Hanagan not feeling

:18:49. > :18:56.great today. Number two, it is Claiomh Solais.

:18:56. > :19:01.It is an Irish Gaelic name. She is a 9-1 shot. She has been busy this

:19:01. > :19:11.season. Then we have a grey filly. This is Clinical. Seb Sanders

:19:11. > :19:15.

:19:15. > :19:25.riding for Sir Mark Prescott. Just getting on her toes is

:19:25. > :19:26.

:19:26. > :19:34.Elshababiya. This is I Love Me. Immortal Verse behind. It got warm

:19:34. > :19:43.in the paddock. Then we have Joviality, William Buick, having

:19:43. > :19:47.won the King Edward VII. We have Memory and Richard Hannon

:19:47. > :19:51.Junior telling us how much schooling they have been doing with

:19:51. > :19:57.her to check she will jump out of the stalls. I should correct myself,

:19:57. > :20:06.it is a field of 12, not 13. The reason there is a big gap is this

:20:06. > :20:12.filly More Than Real, the American filly owned by Bobby Bobby Flay has

:20:12. > :20:18.been on her toes. She is knowing that she is somewhere different

:20:18. > :20:22.having travelled over from the USA. She She hasn't run for 224 days,

:20:22. > :20:27.but she is top class. The whole race turns on whether she can adapt

:20:27. > :20:31.to British conditions and turf that is on the soft guide of good and a

:20:31. > :20:36.testing mile here. She looks fantastic apart from the fact she

:20:36. > :20:45.is playing up a little bit, but it depends whether she can produce the

:20:45. > :20:53.same form that saw heroin the breeder -- we are the Breeders' Cup

:20:53. > :20:56.Fillies. Nova Hawk has a good chance.

:20:56. > :21:00.Then Theyskens' Theory, Martin Dwyer telling us how much he likes

:21:00. > :21:05.this filly and they have always felt she has a lot of ability and

:21:05. > :21:10.we will find out today if she is up to this class. Finally we have

:21:10. > :21:15.Together. Very small. Just taking tiny little steps. Two handlers as

:21:15. > :21:19.always with Aidan O'Brien's horses and the filly being ridden by Ryan

:21:19. > :21:23.Moore who is keeping a nice, long reign and making sure she doesn't

:21:23. > :21:33.get wound up by the other horses around her. Those are the

:21:33. > :21:45.

:21:45. > :21:50.contenders and this is the chance, Lillie Langtry.

:21:50. > :21:54.I think it is a competitive race. There are a lot of dangers. It is

:21:54. > :21:58.not just one filly. I think if she settles and we don't get too much

:21:58. > :22:03.rain, we will be happy. Theyskens' Theory is a big strong

:22:03. > :22:08.filly with an ability to match. She was always likely to improve and

:22:08. > :22:12.and looked smart on her reappearance at York? She looks

:22:13. > :22:17.great. I am looking forward to it and she is a class filly.

:22:17. > :22:22.Joviality edged out Barefoot Lady at York, but that was over ten

:22:22. > :22:25.furlongs. Back at a mile today, supporters of Barefoot Lady may

:22:25. > :22:30.feel she could come out on top in that battle. Memory was a top class

:22:30. > :22:34.two-year-old last year, but behaved like a proper madam refuse to go

:22:34. > :22:36.race at Newmarket. If she is willing to go, she is a danger to

:22:36. > :22:40.all. She has got history with the stalls.

:22:40. > :22:43.If she jumps out of the stalls, she will take a lot of beating. She is

:22:43. > :22:49.a good filly and she owes us one after that. There is a lot of

:22:49. > :22:53.owners there. They are going to be hoping she does race. She has been

:22:53. > :22:56.through the gates at home and has been well behaved.

:22:56. > :23:00.From America is More Than Real who since that day last November has

:23:00. > :23:07.been pointed at today's race. She will have never seen as daunting a

:23:07. > :23:17.mile as this, but she is classy, she is owned by the American chef,

:23:17. > :23:25.

:23:25. > :23:29.Bobby Flay. Olivia Peslier is the man charged

:23:29. > :23:37.with bringing her home. Kieron Fallon, a late change for

:23:37. > :23:43.him. A new ride for Barefoot Lady. The leading jockey for the week,

:23:43. > :23:53.Richard Hughes just wants to coax Memory out of the stalls.

:23:53. > :24:07.

:24:07. > :24:13.We have a strong favourite. That's hat bookies like. Steady

:24:13. > :24:18.money! Here is our 7-2 favourite out on

:24:18. > :24:22.the course. She has classic form with three-

:24:22. > :24:29.quarters of a length second she was at Newmarket in the 1,000 guineas

:24:29. > :24:35.there. Roughly the same behind Misty and the Irish 1,000 guineas.

:24:35. > :24:40.She represents the classic form. She is one they have to beat. If

:24:40. > :24:44.stable horse are running adequately. So 7-2, I think it is a fair price

:24:44. > :24:48.for her? Yes. We would be concerned that she has got a little bit

:24:48. > :24:53.sweaty. She is warm down her neck and sweating behind the saddle, but

:24:53. > :24:57.she is nice and relaxed con contouring down. Ryan will be

:24:57. > :25:01.relaxed now he has got her down the track. Hopefully she will be fine

:25:01. > :25:06.for the race. There is a slight doubt about her

:25:06. > :25:10.on the grown, but a question mark, but it is not nothing that is

:25:10. > :25:18.certain at the momentment here is Nova Hawk.

:25:18. > :25:24.She is trained in France. She is a very descent filly already. She has

:25:25. > :25:28.got classic form. She was fourth at Newmarket in the 1,000 guineas. She

:25:28. > :25:33.went in the French equivalent when she was fourth.

:25:33. > :25:37.Yes, she is a lovely looking filly, but she was fourth in both guineas,

:25:37. > :25:41.there was no excuses for her that day. Probably as good as she was.

:25:41. > :25:46.She is nice to look at, but there has been very good money for her so

:25:46. > :25:52.one or two of the punters here have taken to her looks.

:25:52. > :25:57.And she is a gran daughter of a winner of this race. If you think

:25:57. > :26:07.back to Magic of Life who won this. That's her granddaughter.

:26:07. > :26:12.concerned this was the pick of the paddock. A lovely looking filly,

:26:12. > :26:15.nice, cool, calm, walked her around the paddock as if she owned it.

:26:15. > :26:22.This filly has done a lot of travelling and it shows today

:26:22. > :26:29.because she seems to be calm with herself. She is just taking it all

:26:29. > :26:35.in her stride and she does look the part and we know that she is a very

:26:35. > :26:39.good filly on her day and I hope possibly for Martin's sake today is

:26:39. > :26:49.her day. Yes, she missed out in running in

:26:49. > :26:53.

:26:53. > :26:56.the classics and this will be the big test. Claiomh Solais for Jim

:26:56. > :27:02.Bolger she ran very well in the Irish 1,000 guineas. I wonder if

:27:02. > :27:08.there are a few too classy for her in this race? No, she will run a

:27:08. > :27:12.big race. She is by Galileo and any horses by Galileo you have to

:27:12. > :27:18.respect. Galileo, it is surprising that it doesn't matter what the

:27:18. > :27:24.ground is. You would imagine Galileo is not liking soft ground,

:27:24. > :27:32.but they are doing the winning on all kinds of ground and he is a

:27:32. > :27:37.fantastic stallion and I imagine this filly has been brought over by

:27:37. > :27:44.Jim Bolger not to be here as an also ran and she is here to compete.

:27:44. > :27:49.This is a ground one race and she is competing at the top level.

:27:49. > :27:54.Jim Bolger trying to win the Coronation Cup for the second time.

:27:54. > :28:00.Money for Nova Hawk. Plenty of money for this French horse late on.

:28:00. > :28:10.Yes, plenty of money for Nova Hawk, but still Together very solid 7-2

:28:10. > :28:14.

:28:14. > :28:20.down at the start. Memory. There is Richard Hughes. He is on on Memory.

:28:20. > :28:24.He will be conscious of what this filly did at Newmarket. She

:28:24. > :28:31.disgraced herself there. She is very talented. The other one now,

:28:31. > :28:34.that's a talented, but she was rele luck tant -- reluctant to race. She

:28:34. > :28:39.is in stall 9 here and it will be interesting to see if Richard

:28:39. > :28:43.Hughes can get up there and get her interested and get her away. The

:28:43. > :28:48.Coronation Stakes, we are set to go. Ready to go racing. And Memory has

:28:48. > :28:52.jumped with them today and she held up at the back of the field on out

:28:52. > :28:58.wide Clinical up in the centre, Barefoot Lady, down near the inside

:28:58. > :29:02.rail is Claiomh Solais who goes on. From Barefoot Lady and up there as

:29:02. > :29:05.well to Joviality in the green jacket. Out wider on the track,

:29:05. > :29:12.Theyskens' Theory working up towards the leaders and further

:29:12. > :29:17.back is Clinical. Memory pulling very hard back in the field. Also

:29:17. > :29:21.pulling hard is Elshabakiya in the white jacket. The American runner,

:29:21. > :29:29.More Than Real on the rail. Further back is Memory who is tucked away

:29:30. > :29:34.Inside, Together. Who only has a couple behind her. Up the side, the

:29:34. > :29:38.leader is Claiomh Solais by a length to Theyskens' Theory in

:29:38. > :29:45.second, tucked away Joviality third, followed by Barefoot Lady and

:29:45. > :29:51.behind them is I Love Me. Around there in the centre being pushed

:29:51. > :29:55.along is Elshabakiya. Memory is tucked away on the fence. Nova Hawk

:29:55. > :30:00.is second last. Swinging for home now and the Irish filly, Claiomh

:30:00. > :30:03.Solais has kicked for home as they straighten up, two furlongs to go.

:30:03. > :30:10.Here is Joviality at the outside from Barefoot Lady who is putting

:30:10. > :30:15.in a claim Together switched to the inner. Together races up quickly.

:30:15. > :30:19.Nova Hawk is there as well. And swooping late is Immortal Verse.

:30:19. > :30:23.Immortal Verse takes it up. She has outdone them all. She come from

:30:23. > :30:27.last and she blitzed them. She goes to the line. Immortal Verse wins

:30:27. > :30:32.the Coronation Stakes in brilliant style. Nova Hawk is second. Third,

:30:32. > :30:38.Barefoot Lady. There followed by I Love Me and also Together followed

:30:38. > :30:41.by Joviality. Behind them is Memory. A long gap to Claiomh Solais from

:30:41. > :30:45.Theyskens' Theory, out the back is Elshabakiya and and there followed

:30:45. > :30:52.by More Than Real the American filly. Second last, Clinical.

:30:52. > :31:02.Clinical last to finish. It is a one, two for France and Immortal

:31:02. > :31:05.

:31:05. > :31:11.Verse, this filly has flown. She goes to the line and wins the

:31:11. > :31:18.Coronation Stakes by three lengths. Nova Hawk is second. Third is

:31:18. > :31:22.Barefoot Lady, Kieren Fallon. Fourth it looks like I Love Me.

:31:22. > :31:29.It is just ahead of Together, Ryan Moore. Then in sixth place, number

:31:29. > :31:35.7, Joviality, William Buick. Memory, she came out today. She was held up

:31:35. > :31:38.and then she hasn't really kicked Theyskens' Theory behind them.

:31:39. > :31:43.Claiomh Solais set the early running and kicked for home and

:31:43. > :31:49.couldn't go on. Elshabakiya next. Then the American runner, More Than

:31:49. > :31:53.Real and Clinical last to finish. That's the order in the Coronation

:31:53. > :32:03.Stakes a leg of the British champions series and it has gone to

:32:03. > :32:13.

:32:13. > :32:18.France and Immortal Verse an 8-1 Barefoot Lady. Fourth, number five,

:32:18. > :32:25.I Love Me. Two and a quarter lengths, a half

:32:25. > :32:35.length and 1.42.75. In terms of the trainers it's case of father beat

:32:35. > :32:39.son. A French 1-2. Won in sensational

:32:39. > :32:42.style with a move from Gerald Mosse around the field. This filly has

:32:43. > :32:47.taken off on the soft ground. You watch where Nova Hawk comes from

:32:47. > :32:53.too. She was trapped in a pocket. Look at them, they are second last

:32:53. > :32:57.and last as the field sweeps into the strait. A typical French way of

:32:57. > :33:05.riding is go around on the inside and then when you get straight,

:33:05. > :33:15.swing out to the outside and come with a swooping run. Gerald Mosse

:33:15. > :33:21.

:33:21. > :33:25.has done this with absolutely fantastic fashion. Pasquier losing

:33:25. > :33:29.the length there. He ran in our Guineas and didn't

:33:29. > :33:35.get into the stalls. She was unruly. Didn't run. Of course went back

:33:35. > :33:45.home to France and won a Group Two in good fashion. Of course they've

:33:45. > :33:46.

:33:46. > :33:51.come back here and won a Group One Coronation Stakes in good style.

:33:51. > :33:57.Allez la France they say. Maybe they went too slow in this

:33:57. > :34:02.slowing ground. The ground was hanging on to them. Gerald Mosse

:34:02. > :34:10.was very content to reserve all his energy until he got into this

:34:10. > :34:18.strait. It is typical of the French. They train them for speed.

:34:18. > :34:23.Obviously this filly, being by - Jim mentions by Pivotal. Pivotal

:34:23. > :34:33.loves the juice in the ground. They love the juice. Obviously there's

:34:33. > :34:34.

:34:34. > :34:39.plenty of juice in the ground now. Ladies and gentlemen coming into

:34:39. > :34:45.the winner's enclosure, having won the Coronation Stakes, with a

:34:45. > :34:54.sweeping run from last to first, victory gos to the French. Immortal

:34:54. > :34:58.Verse, riden by Gerald Mosse and trained by Robert Collet.

:34:58. > :35:05.Well, not too many French fans here, I don't think.

:35:05. > :35:12.Fairly quiet. This trainer, Robert Collet, he is

:35:12. > :35:16.no stranger to Group One success. There he is there - Robert - he's a

:35:17. > :35:21.happy man. He's had winners every where. He had Last Tycoon, of

:35:21. > :35:30.course. If you look back through the records, his first classic

:35:30. > :35:37.winner was Son Of Love, in the St Leger, in 1979, 32 years ago. He

:35:37. > :35:44.still travels the world. These colours, this man is

:35:44. > :35:52.represented by these colours, Mr Strauss, he owns many of the horses

:35:52. > :35:57.in Robert Collet's stables. So, this is a really good filly. I

:35:57. > :36:02.wonder what would have happened if she wasn't so unruly up at

:36:02. > :36:06.Newmarket? She is brilliant. Her turn of foot today was decisive. It

:36:06. > :36:14.is one of the race's big performance. An 8-1 chance. I

:36:14. > :36:23.wonder how the boys in the ring view that one?

:36:23. > :36:27.So the winner of the coronation stakes, Immortal Verse.

:36:27. > :36:36.They backed the wrong French horse. Anybody had forecast first and

:36:36. > :36:41.second, you have a bonus, 44 for a pound. 43-1, the two French fillies.

:36:41. > :36:45.We have the winning trainer with us from France and Liz Price to do

:36:45. > :36:55.some translating for us. A Royal Ascot winner w a tricky filly for

:36:55. > :36:58.

:36:58. > :37:07.you, what does that mean for you? It was not easy. The question, no,

:37:07. > :37:11.my filly is easy. She is easy, but has been a little bit naughty.

:37:11. > :37:21.TRANSLATION: I announce that this filly is actually the best filly

:37:21. > :37:23.

:37:23. > :37:33.I've trained. Does she not have a bit of temperament? No. Newmarket

:37:33. > :37:47.

:37:47. > :37:50.SPEAKS FRENCH TRANSLATION: What happened in the

:37:50. > :37:57.Newmarket Guineas, she wore a cover to go into the stalls and there was

:37:57. > :38:02.a lot of wind and it irritated her. That was the reason. Since then

:38:02. > :38:07.she.... She, it was the starter. She has come back and you've seen

:38:07. > :38:10.she has won. In the French Guineas things didn't go to plan, so we

:38:10. > :38:14.forget that. You have to be stubborn to come back and prove

:38:14. > :38:24.this is a group one filly. Would it be fair to say her main weapon is

:38:24. > :38:30.her turn of foot? Xabgtdly.

:38:30. > :38:35.That's all -- Exactly. That's all that needs to be said. We have the

:38:35. > :38:39.winning jockey, Gerald Mosse. speaks English - my wife. Very

:38:39. > :38:44.happy, my wife! Very happy. He's a very happy man.

:38:44. > :38:51.I was obviously chatting to him about this filly. He said she has

:38:52. > :38:56.no temperament. She seems very easy. She's very easy. She's, she had to

:38:56. > :39:02.be riden steady and stay behind. We are not very anxious because we

:39:02. > :39:12.know she would finish very fast. Perhaps he thought to come too

:39:12. > :39:16.occasion for the family? For the family, I'm very glad for Mr

:39:16. > :39:23.Strauss, because he didn't come very often in France. He's American.

:39:23. > :39:27.I hope it was the race on the TV and congratulations to Mr Strauss.

:39:27. > :39:31.I want to speak to the winning jockey. The turn of if she has

:39:31. > :39:35.shown there, I presume the strong pace has played into your hands,

:39:35. > :39:39.hasn't it? I believe the pace was good enough for the ground, but not

:39:39. > :39:44.that fast. She was a bit keen, so I just decided to drop her behind and

:39:44. > :39:49.make sure that she is going to be totally relaxed going up the hill

:39:49. > :39:53.and go for the 400. When I take my time to start to put her out,

:39:54. > :39:58.actually she reacts quicker than I was expecting. She was coming too

:39:58. > :40:04.quick. It was too fast. The first time I was on board, and I knew she

:40:05. > :40:10.would react, but not that fast. I was coming really easily. I had the

:40:10. > :40:15.race in the 500. Your trainer seems to think she's a super filly. What

:40:15. > :40:19.are your thoughts? The last good filly I was running here in the

:40:19. > :40:24.coronation as well, Gold Splash. Many years ago. I would say, they

:40:24. > :40:31.are all different, but this one has a fantastic turn of foot. Only top

:40:31. > :40:36.horses can do that. I just want to congratulate the owner and try not

:40:36. > :40:42.to put me on the filly at the last minute. She's really a great ride.

:40:42. > :40:46.I'm very pleased. You have ridden top winners all over the world. We

:40:46. > :40:52.remember you winning the Melbourne cup. What does a Royal Ascot winner

:40:52. > :40:56.mean to you? It is one of the best. You cannot ask a question like that.

:40:56. > :41:02.Everybody dreams to have a runner here only, not to win. When you get

:41:02. > :41:06.a chance to win a great one, it aets a wonderful feeling. I am very

:41:06. > :41:11.-- it's a wonderful feeling. I am very happy to be here. We will

:41:11. > :41:17.rescue him. She's not too difficult. Just look

:41:17. > :41:21.at this - she comes out of the stalls. We will show you this very

:41:21. > :41:26.slowly indeed. She wants to do a little jump there. Cheltenham, a

:41:26. > :41:32.couple of flights of hurdles. way beyond that. There is distance

:41:32. > :41:38.between her anded the horse drawn next to her, Seb Sanders. Because

:41:38. > :41:43.she jumped into space she ran free. It took Gerald a stride or two to

:41:43. > :41:48.get her back. Memory, the thing was she is very slowly away at

:41:48. > :41:52.Newmarket. She gets away OK here. Richard Hughes says, right, we have

:41:52. > :41:58.started, that is good. She fighting him early on. She never settled

:41:58. > :42:05.into the race. Once he got her out. He wanted her settled. Took her

:42:05. > :42:09.across to the rail. Once he got her there, she never settled into the

:42:09. > :42:13.race. Like the filly of Jim's in the first race. If they are using

:42:13. > :42:21.that much energy, I am afraid it's not going to be their day. On this

:42:21. > :42:26.ground they are not going to get home. Here's your winner. Here's

:42:26. > :42:35.your second horse. Here in third place, the filly in fourth position

:42:35. > :42:40.there. Let's look, in the purple jacket of Ryan Moore. Now I think

:42:40. > :42:50.she flaupbl der on the ground. They get a bit close. She is struggling

:42:50. > :42:52.

:42:52. > :42:56.already, isn't she? It got messy. Like you say, she was flaundering

:42:56. > :43:05.about. She gets off balance again. She fades the last furlong of the

:43:05. > :43:09.race. She was not happy. We have fillies there have well in the

:43:09. > :43:15.3,000 Guineas the England, Ireland and also at the Curragh. But as so

:43:15. > :43:25.often we see, get to mid-June, the whole thing changes, one who has

:43:25. > :43:27.

:43:27. > :43:35.beaten before and put in an impressive performance. 1.42.75.

:43:35. > :43:41.He's a world-class jockey Gerald Mosse. There we are, the father and

:43:41. > :43:46.son. Robert and Rod Collet, having finished first and second. The

:43:46. > :43:56.press sensation being made at the moment by the man behind the new

:43:56. > :43:57.

:43:57. > :44:04.British champion series. We heard from Robert Collet's wife there.

:44:04. > :44:09.Wow, that is a big trophy, isn't it? Isn't it a big one!

:44:09. > :44:13.That was the mutest response we've had for any winner coming into the

:44:13. > :44:17.winner's enclosure. I know a lot of people didn't back her. There's a

:44:18. > :44:22.lot of people here today. I am afraid there were not that many

:44:22. > :44:27.people who went for this French filly. Of course we got a French

:44:27. > :44:32.one-two, which is not very good for our sort of fillies. Obviously our

:44:32. > :44:35.fillies in England are not very strong over the mile.

:44:35. > :44:40.We better not trouble with them, then!

:44:40. > :44:45.They were very exciting to watch. I loved the shots coming out of the

:44:45. > :44:51.stalls. I love how Gerald Mosse rides. His balance was brilliant as

:44:51. > :44:58.Immortal Verse was fly-jumping out of the stalls. She only fly-jumped

:44:58. > :45:04.the once. Gerrard said, "no, you are not going." He said, ee, you

:45:04. > :45:09.are." A -- he said, yes, you are." We still have three races to come

:45:09. > :45:14.here at Ascot. At the Royal Meeting on day four, two of them on BBC Two.

:45:14. > :45:19.The other on the red button and next up we have the Wolferton

:45:19. > :45:23.Handicap. The favourite is Green Destiny, who missed a big race

:45:23. > :45:28.earlier this week to concentrate on this. Then we have the Queen's Vase.

:45:28. > :45:32.A race that Mark Johnston has dominated in recent years. He has a

:45:32. > :45:42.strong hand in that. Then we finish off on the red button with the

:45:42. > :45:51.

:45:51. > :45:57.tell me why you haven't come back to the UK for three or four years

:45:57. > :46:02.now, I think? Things are going well for me at home. I have chased the

:46:02. > :46:09.premierships there in Sydney.Vy managed to win one and runner up in

:46:09. > :46:12.one or two since. Mick offer md me the opportunity to

:46:12. > :46:17.come back. How many different championships in regions in

:46:17. > :46:21.Australia, because it is such a big country, do you have as a flat

:46:21. > :46:27.jockey? Plenty. The two main ones are Sydney and Melbourne. They are

:46:27. > :46:32.hard to win. I was fortunate enough to win one as a freelance jockey.

:46:32. > :46:37.That's worked well for me, in my career and hopefully not my last.

:46:37. > :46:43.The draw of Royal Ascot, I believe like so many jockeys a few days'

:46:43. > :46:47.suspension ruled you out the first few days. I was given a four-day

:46:47. > :46:50.suspension, Saturday a week ago in a Group One race. That was

:46:50. > :46:59.unfortunate. The bottom line is, I'm here today and looking forward

:46:59. > :47:04.to what is ahead. You were the first man to ride So You Think Of

:47:04. > :47:09.Victory. What do you think -- So You Think to victory. What do you

:47:09. > :47:15.think of him? I am sure you will see him at top grade here. It was a

:47:15. > :47:21.surprise to see him get beat. Most horses do get beat. That is racing.

:47:21. > :47:26.It was an excellent race. I am sure we'll see more of those horses.

:47:26. > :47:32.the horse you rode today, you have ridden the last one to victory.

:47:32. > :47:36.ran in a maiden here on this very track. So, I link up with him again

:47:36. > :47:41.and hopefully he can give me the same result. How long will you be

:47:41. > :47:44.here for? At least six weeks and seeing how things go. The season

:47:44. > :47:48.starts to wind up from mid-August. I would like to be home for the

:47:48. > :47:53.start of that. While you are here I hope you have a few winners and

:47:53. > :47:58.good luck. Cheers. Back with fashion now. As it starts to

:47:58. > :48:04.drizzle. We are trying to shelter here. This is Ruth, who has come

:48:04. > :48:08.over from Ireland. It is a special treat? It is a birthday present

:48:08. > :48:14.from Dermott, my husband. winners? Unfortunately not.

:48:14. > :48:19.know in the next one I have back it. There's a horse called Green

:48:19. > :48:24.Destiny. Well I've have to go on it. I think you will have to. The hat -

:48:24. > :48:29.it is stunning, isn't it? When you see someone from 500 metres and

:48:29. > :48:39.when I saw Ruth I said "that's a vision." You are in your national

:48:39. > :48:41.

:48:41. > :48:47.colour today. Tell me about your hat. It is my a milliner Carol

:48:47. > :48:52.Trenelly. What we have here is a beautiful plume. It is actually a

:48:52. > :48:54.burnt peacock. Then you dye it and give it this incredible feel about

:48:54. > :49:00.it. Of course you have watched everything down to the detail,

:49:00. > :49:06.which I love. It is all about the detail, detail, detail. These birds

:49:06. > :49:12.look real. It looks like it -- these buds look real. It looks like

:49:12. > :49:18.it may be heavy. It is very heavy. There is her husband wo gave the

:49:18. > :49:25.birthday treat to Ruth. It is co- ordinated beautifully. It has been

:49:25. > :49:29.a pleasure, Ruth. What is nice about the men is they

:49:29. > :49:33.make such a huge effort as well. Now, there's this wonderful

:49:33. > :49:38.gentleman over here, who I spotted a while back. Now, Mr, you are the

:49:38. > :49:43.only person I have seen with this wonderful velvet jacket. Tell me

:49:43. > :49:52.more about that? I have never seen one like it. I had it made for my

:49:52. > :50:01.wedding by Tom Brown, the toy lor in Eton. A little bit -- in Eton. A

:50:01. > :50:09.little bit about the Thai? Not sure. A high street shop. This is a bit

:50:09. > :50:13.of upholstery fabric. Mixed it up. It is fine. You can mix bespoke

:50:14. > :50:18.couture with high street. The great thing about the guys is they need

:50:18. > :50:23.to clash the waist coat with the Thai. That is what makes it so

:50:23. > :50:27.stylist. Louise, this is your boyfriend. Did he dress himself?

:50:27. > :50:33.John definitely dressed himself. you come to the races a lot?

:50:33. > :50:43.third time. Have you got any tips for us?

:50:43. > :50:43.

:50:43. > :50:48.the last two due to a good tipster. What is the good tipster A Channel

:50:48. > :50:52.4 commentators. What have you got next Green Destiny, Spanish Duke.

:50:52. > :50:56.This is looking good. I put money on Green Destiny. We know where to

:50:56. > :51:05.hang around for the champagne. I think we are on for a few -- on to

:51:05. > :51:09.a few winners. You look amazing. So again, I think what is nice is when,

:51:09. > :51:13.you know, you find more gentlemen wearing even more quirker outfits

:51:13. > :51:18.and of course these gentlemen over here don't let us down. Who put

:51:18. > :51:23.your outfit together? We need confession and honesty? It was my

:51:23. > :51:28.mother who designed the colour. She did the whole thing. So very much

:51:28. > :51:32.thank you to her. Apart from that, the rest was my input. Are you

:51:32. > :51:36.enjoying the day? Yes, thank you very much.

:51:36. > :51:41.We have to talk about the tip, haven't we for the next race. We

:51:41. > :51:46.just plo through. Wonder down to our friends John Parrot and Gary,

:51:46. > :51:51.who are probably very busy. Wonderful sights. Lots of bright

:51:51. > :51:55.brollys. Are you with me? Come on, keep up!

:51:55. > :51:59.Fellas...: Hello. Hello. Can you get under this umbrella with that

:51:59. > :52:05.hat on? Hello. How you doing? It is good to

:52:05. > :52:09.see you again. I got the buggy cart lift off you. Don't tell everybody.

:52:09. > :52:15.I was supposed to walk home! You are not meant to eat fish and

:52:15. > :52:21.chips in that car either! The next race I put a bet on Green

:52:21. > :52:29.Destiny. I have heard from somebody else I have made a good decision.

:52:29. > :52:35.She put 5-2. Honestly it is 13-8. Did you smile at him when you got

:52:35. > :52:42.the price. The eye eyes as well. Who do you fancy? I cannot confess.

:52:42. > :52:46.Mod damn over here told me to keep a secret or two. Yes?

:52:46. > :52:50.Don't you start. Another secret was revealed. We'll watch this race.

:52:50. > :52:55.You reckon I will make money today. I lost it all yesterday. Green

:52:55. > :53:02.Destiny is my selection for today. You probably put the mockers on me.

:53:02. > :53:09.No, no, no. I think it's a good thing. You should play as well. 5-2

:53:09. > :53:15.you'd play. I will take a tip or two off you later. If it gets beat,

:53:15. > :53:19.it's your fault. The design on traditional jockey skills -- silks

:53:19. > :53:28.has remained the same for 200 years. That is about to change thanks from

:53:28. > :53:33.an initiative from Racing For Change.

:53:33. > :53:37.The racing silks have been used since the mid-1700s, so the very

:53:37. > :53:41.rich owners of the horses could spot which one was theirs at

:53:41. > :53:47.distance. It was not until the mid- 1800s that it was a rule of racing

:53:47. > :53:52.that you had to have registered silks. Since then then there have

:53:52. > :53:56.been fairly strict terms applied to them. Since this day there are a

:53:56. > :54:02.set combination of colours you can have and pattern. With the aim of

:54:02. > :54:06.creating a new look, Racing for Change opened a competition to

:54:06. > :54:11.students of St Martin's College of Art and design in London. Where

:54:11. > :54:17.they have drawn their inspiration is from is broad. We have the

:54:17. > :54:21.designs that are informed by fruit machines, lucky charms. They work

:54:21. > :54:31.very well. Each of my designs is based on a different art movement.

:54:31. > :54:36.So there is cubism. There is pick kas co-. I have tried to keep --

:54:36. > :54:41.Picasso. I try and keep them simple. In America there is a set of silks

:54:41. > :54:45.in America which are in the Superman colours. If you can have

:54:45. > :54:51.Superman in America, you can have a few variations on theme in this

:54:51. > :54:58.country. British racing may not be ready yet for superheroes, but the

:54:58. > :55:03.first race on July 9th will see the winning design on show. My idea was

:55:03. > :55:07.on fruit machines to make simbls which would be pout -- symbols

:55:07. > :55:11.which would be suitable for racing silks. To see them being worn in a

:55:11. > :55:17.race will be amazing. It will be fantastic. So that new initiative

:55:17. > :55:22.about to be unveiled on July 9th. Bigger and potentially more

:55:22. > :55:26.exciting initiative takes place here on 15th October. That is the

:55:26. > :55:31.British champion's day, as the climax to the champion's series.

:55:31. > :55:34.Nick, it's one that has created some debate in racing. It is now

:55:34. > :55:39.established and looking forward to it. What is the build-up going to

:55:39. > :55:47.be like. What is the interest in it like for the wilder world? As you

:55:47. > :55:52.say, it is an exciting initiative. 3,000 in prize money. Put that in

:55:52. > :56:01.context. Royal Ascot money is 4 million over the entire week. This

:56:01. > :56:09.is new money koss tosy of Kitco. It is the fan -- -- money courtesy of

:56:09. > :56:17.Kitco. The idea of bringing horsing like Frankel is what you would like.

:56:17. > :56:22.Any concern is -- it is after a long season? There are horses who

:56:22. > :56:28.are ten-furlong horses. There are great ones like. This is a great

:56:28. > :56:32.opportunity for horses. We know we are going to play our part in the

:56:32. > :56:36.wider international calendar along with the Arc weekend and breeder's

:56:36. > :56:41.cup. Will we get more horses from the States coming over for that?

:56:41. > :56:45.Coming over from the States is ambition. The same for the

:56:45. > :56:49.Australians, because of the spring carnival. We see this as a

:56:49. > :56:54.European's champion day. We will see more horses which have competed

:56:54. > :56:58.in the Kitco series through the year. The weather has turned the

:56:58. > :57:07.last couple of days. I understand the crowds were up ged. Yesterday.

:57:07. > :57:11.What sort of crowd -- were up again yesterday. What sort of crowds can

:57:11. > :57:16.we expect tomorrow? We will get about 75,000 people tomorrow, which

:57:16. > :57:20.will be our busiest day. We'll have, hopefully we'll get the crowds

:57:20. > :57:24.through today we'll see increases for every day. It has been a great

:57:24. > :57:28.week. Hospitality is up. Crowds are up. People have been happy and the

:57:28. > :57:32.crowds have really enjoyed it. weather forecast tomorrow? It is

:57:32. > :57:36.not very good. I am glad it has sold out already. Thank you for

:57:36. > :57:42.talking to us. And the Golden Jubilee tomorrow afternoon, the

:57:42. > :57:51.feature race and also we'll be back here at Ascot on Saturday 23rd July,

:57:51. > :58:01.for the King George. It could contain Work Force,

:58:01. > :58:07.Rewilding and So You Think. Then we will be back with full coverage of

:58:07. > :58:13.QIPCO coverage. This Monday coverage starts on the BBC of

:58:13. > :58:15.Wimbledon 2011. Andy Murray has been drawn with Rafael Nadal.

:58:16. > :58:19.The other extraordinary thing is that those who played that record

:58:19. > :58:29.match last year have been drawn against each other. On Sunday night

:58:29. > :58:32.you can enjoy a look back at Wimbledon over the last 1250 -- 125

:58:32. > :58:41.years. There's nothing like it when you look at it, whether you're

:58:41. > :58:45.there in person, the smell of it or when you watch it on TV.

:58:45. > :58:50.It's the one that everybody knows. Even people who don't know tennis,

:58:50. > :58:53.they know Wimbledon. It's the biggest tournament in the world.

:58:53. > :58:58.you are a champion you are known for life.

:58:58. > :59:04.I have always felt there is something special. It is a place I

:59:04. > :59:08.wanted to be a parbtd of, compete in and -- a part in, one day

:59:08. > :59:13.hopefully win. You speak to the majority of the players and they

:59:14. > :59:19.say if there was a tournament that you could win, which would it be?

:59:19. > :59:24.And they say, Wimbledon. Sunday night at 8pm is that documentary.

:59:24. > :59:32.125 years of Wimbledon. You cannot be serious.

:59:32. > :59:37.Let's go to the trainer of Green Destiny. This Wolferton Handicap is

:59:38. > :59:43.a competitive race. This year it is about Green Destiny. William is

:59:43. > :59:49.with us. William, he is very impressive. He won impressively at

:59:49. > :59:53.Newmarket. Why did you choose this race and not the Hunt Cup earlier?

:59:53. > :59:59.The ground. I always fancied this race before the Hunt Cup. When it

:59:59. > :00:03.rained on Monday I changed my mind. That's the way it is. This is the

:00:04. > :00:07.right race for him, I'm sure. has impressed a lot of people. His

:00:07. > :00:12.performance at Newmarket was very easy on the eye. Has he always

:00:12. > :00:17.shown you ability at home? He is one of those nice, progressive,

:00:17. > :00:23.uncomplicated, kind horses. He'll give his best running. Whether he

:00:23. > :00:28.wins or not, I don't know. He'll give his best. What about Shamali -

:00:28. > :00:32.he was on a roll a couple of years ago? He is a charming horse. I

:00:32. > :00:38.would fancy him normally.Vy no idea how he'll go on the ground. I

:00:38. > :00:45.thought he wouldn't like it. He is by Selkirk. We are giving it a go.

:00:45. > :00:55.He is a strong, genuine horse. I ament sure he'll run a good -- I am

:00:55. > :00:58.

:00:58. > :01:02.have seen, 40,000 cash. It is now 6-4. John, this is a massive gamble.

:01:02. > :01:05.This is it, Green Destiny. Absolutely. Every time they stick

:01:05. > :01:11.up a bigger price they come and knock it off.

:01:11. > :01:20.You know how much he gets back if this wins, 105,000!

:01:20. > :01:26.It is Green Destiny as we say, 6-4. 7-1 for Spanish Duke.

:01:26. > :01:35., but it is all about Green Destiny. Suzi could be back here to collect

:01:35. > :01:45.heroinings, John! -- her winnings, John.

:01:45. > :01:46.

:01:46. > :02:27.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 48 seconds

:02:27. > :02:32.A lot of non runners today. 15 in same as the Prince of Wales Stakes.

:02:32. > :02:37.Not a great length of time before they get to Swinley Bottom and they

:02:38. > :02:47.have to contend with that steep uphill climb to home. Just under

:02:47. > :02:54.three furlongs and they run up to excited about the chance to ride

:02:54. > :03:01.Green Destiny all week, but we are looking at Eddie Ahern. Spanish

:03:01. > :03:09.Duke planned himself and said, "I want to look at the view. Do you

:03:09. > :03:14.want me to walk forward?". He is tall. Eddie Ahern had two winners

:03:14. > :03:20.this week. He is going very, very well and Spanish Duke an each way

:03:20. > :03:30.chance. He looked impressive at Epsom. We saw him at Epsom, didn't

:03:30. > :03:33.

:03:33. > :03:38.Yes. He is here today, John... We heard

:03:38. > :03:42.Willie talking about that horse, Shamali. He said he was concerned

:03:42. > :03:52.whether the mile and a quarter on soft ground would suit him.

:03:52. > :03:58.

:03:58. > :04:08.It is stretching his stamina, isn't Mickael Barzalona taking over

:04:08. > :04:10.

:04:11. > :04:18.plenty of rides from Frankie Dettori.

:04:18. > :04:26.This horse, you can see he has the jig pieces on and this horse was

:04:26. > :04:34.trained by Gerry Miniseder. We were talking about the tennis earlier

:04:34. > :04:41.and the future racing we have got this weekend. Also coverage on Five

:04:41. > :04:46.Live and the golf where Rory McIlroy has stretched his lead.

:04:46. > :04:51.This is -- there is William Buick. He has the blinkers on today to

:04:51. > :04:55.help him concentrate. Willie, we saw... They are back on Beachfire.

:04:55. > :05:00.Do you think those drawn wide will go under the trees? I think they

:05:00. > :05:07.might do tomorrow after more rain, but it was touch and go whether it

:05:07. > :05:17.was advisable to do so. I hope Balducci runs well. It is

:05:17. > :05:22.

:05:22. > :05:31.the Wolferton Handicap. A mile and side on there. One restless and

:05:31. > :05:39.about five playing up. The horse in 5, Shamali. Now they

:05:39. > :05:43.are better settled. Ready. Set. Racing in the Wolferton and

:05:43. > :05:52.Circumvent in the centre first away. Down near the inside, quickly is

:05:52. > :05:58.Resurge. Out in the centre, Lost In The Moment. Up there is be

:05:58. > :06:05.remembered. Balducci is trapped very wide with the nose band. Lost

:06:06. > :06:11.In The Moment, tucked away on the inside inside World Heritage and

:06:11. > :06:15.further back is Resurge. Resurge has a rails position. They come

:06:15. > :06:19.into Swinley Bottom. Well back is Spanish Duke and in company with

:06:19. > :06:23.Shamali. They race out of Swinley Bottom and they have got, it is

:06:23. > :06:27.under six furlongs to travel. Circumvent the leader from Balducci

:06:28. > :06:36.and World Heritage is tucked away. A length to Lost In The Moment, the

:06:36. > :06:39.blue jacket outside Resurge. Further back, behind them is

:06:39. > :06:43.Waydownsouth from Be Remembered and in company with Spanish Duke. Being

:06:43. > :06:49.ridden along is Riggins on in the centre, Right Step giving them a

:06:49. > :06:52.start. In company with Gallic Star and taking to the outside. Green

:06:52. > :06:56.Destiny back second last at this stage on the inside and last is

:06:56. > :07:05.Beachfire. Coming up towards the turn and the leader is Circumvent

:07:05. > :07:10.by a length, Balducci. Tucked away is World Heritage, a length away is

:07:10. > :07:13.Lost In The Moment. On the inside, Be Remembered. Green Destiny being

:07:13. > :07:17.stoked up with about ten lengths to make up now as they round the turn

:07:17. > :07:21.and on the inside he will need luck. Into the strait, Lost In The Moment

:07:21. > :07:27.is first to strike for hem. He goes a length in front of Circumvent.

:07:27. > :07:32.Behind them, battling away, Bea Remembered. Out in front is Lost In

:07:32. > :07:36.The Moment. Waydownsouth is on the outside and then Bea Remembered and

:07:36. > :07:43.Shamali and finishing fast is Beachfire. It is buyer buyer on the

:07:43. > :07:47.inside. Lost In The Moment and Beachfire. Beachfire is going home

:07:47. > :07:51.like a real bullet to the line and goes on to win it well. Beachfire

:07:51. > :07:57.gets the win. From in second, Lost In The Moment, Waydownsouth is

:07:57. > :08:02.third. A gap to Right Step, Riggins in a bunch with Green Destiny,

:08:02. > :08:06.never ever got going followed by Gallic Star by them and then Bea

:08:06. > :08:15.Remembered, Balducci, Circumvent and one of the last to cross the

:08:15. > :08:19.line Shamali. Well that was as if jet-propelled. William Buick on

:08:19. > :08:24.Beachfire and there he is crossing the line. Another winner for

:08:24. > :08:28.William and wins it by three lengths to Lost In The Moment. In

:08:28. > :08:32.third is Waydownsouth and a gap to Right Step, followed by Bea

:08:33. > :08:38.Remembered and then Gallic Star on the near-side. Top of the screen

:08:38. > :08:42.there is the favourite, Green Destiny. He never got going. He had

:08:42. > :08:46.ten lengths to make up, Riggins in the centre, Balducci behind them

:08:46. > :08:51.and Circumvent further back and then a gap to the others, Shamali

:08:51. > :08:58.back there in company with Resurge and also there was World Heritage

:08:58. > :09:03.and one more to come, that's, think, Shamali, no, it is Spanish Duke who

:09:03. > :09:09.is right out the back. But the winner there is number 16 and

:09:09. > :09:19.Beachfire ridden by William Buick. It is trained by John Gosden. He is

:09:19. > :09:22.

:09:22. > :09:28.having a good week and the colt by Indian Haven won it. Second is Lost

:09:28. > :09:38.In The Moment at 8-1. 12-1 the winner. Third is Waydownsouth at

:09:38. > :09:46.

:09:46. > :09:50.20-1 and fourth, number 13, Right Step ridden by Jim Crowley.

:09:51. > :09:55.I cannot wait to see this again. Beachfire is a very, very tricky

:09:55. > :09:58.horse and and hasn't always looked the most willing. They have had the

:09:58. > :10:02.blinkers on and taken them off and put them on again. And he comes

:10:02. > :10:07.through the pack. Some horses really enjoy getting in there,

:10:07. > :10:13.coming past other horses and they take off. It has become a theme

:10:13. > :10:16.here this afternoon. Horses coming from last to winning. William Buick

:10:16. > :10:21.he has gone right the spay, he split the whole field. He was lucky

:10:21. > :10:26.that he never got checked. You know, he plotted a path. Never getting

:10:26. > :10:33.his horse into trouble and and there he is, he only pick his stick

:10:33. > :10:37.up when his horse hit the front and gave him two taps and just to keep

:10:37. > :10:42.him going, he put his stick away and celebrated before the line. He

:10:42. > :10:48.is a happy boy. You see those blinkers, they wherein on last time.

:10:48. > :10:53.Last year he won four of his his five races.

:10:53. > :10:57.Balducci is going backwards at this point having being favourite. He

:10:57. > :11:00.gets knocked side ways there. He gets knocked by William Buick. He

:11:00. > :11:04.was beaten at the time, but the stewards may have a look into that

:11:05. > :11:08.and sorry, you were looking at Green Destiny on the rails. He

:11:08. > :11:12.looked uncomfortable. He was never travelling with conviction, you

:11:12. > :11:20.know. You could see him six furlongs from home. He was just on

:11:20. > :11:24.the bridle, but his action was not as strong as you would have liked.

:11:24. > :11:29.You can see how way ward Beachfire is. He dives quickly from side to

:11:29. > :11:37.side, but once William gets him straight, what he does quickly is

:11:37. > :11:43.again. We will soon. There is William

:11:43. > :11:49.coming back in. The green colours. Let's have

:11:49. > :11:53.another look and watch for him on the right, the green jacket. He has

:11:53. > :11:58.had to have luck. Green Destiny on the left. Look at him there, he is

:11:58. > :12:05.just a little bit unbalanced and he comes in sharply on Shamali. And

:12:05. > :12:10.here he is, he is coming over again and Shamali being slightly checked.

:12:10. > :12:15.This horse is doing things very quickly, Beachfire. Let's have

:12:15. > :12:22.another look. There he is. It is a real sharp man over and as you can

:12:22. > :12:27.see, he is off balance and he has got got a whack for his trutial,

:12:27. > :12:31.across -- trouble across the nose. Full credit, Beachfire he has

:12:31. > :12:35.really gone to the line as if jet propelled. It was a real surge of

:12:35. > :12:39.power. Have a look at the other one in green colours on the left,

:12:39. > :12:43.that's Green Destiny. Fou for a few -- now for a few strides he looked

:12:43. > :12:49.like he was going to put in a sustained effort like the winner,

:12:50. > :12:54.but his run just petered out. Disappointing. John Gosden having a

:12:54. > :12:57.word now to Ritchie. We have got the winning trainer,

:12:57. > :13:01.John Gosden. We wanted to know about this horse

:13:01. > :13:05.and the use of the head gear and the fact that it managed to work.

:13:05. > :13:13.What's the reasoning? The soft ground. He loves the soft ground.

:13:13. > :13:19.He has this naughty habit of of of dropping out of a race, but not

:13:19. > :13:23.running against superior stock so we popped the head gear on and he

:13:23. > :13:26.has come through well. The wife has beaten the husband and the husband

:13:26. > :13:36.is delighted so we are not in big trouble!

:13:36. > :13:40.

:13:40. > :13:45.I would love to to grab a word with Princess Hyre. You seem to

:13:46. > :13:55.appreciate this. Lots of pats for the winner He is a lovely horse and

:13:55. > :13:58.John is a wonderful trainer. It was so much fun. We had a lovely time

:13:58. > :14:05.watching the race. It must have been exciting watching

:14:05. > :14:11.him because he had to take, William had to do a lot of slaloming.

:14:11. > :14:16.William is great. I'm thrilled. What was that like for you? We know

:14:16. > :14:24.he is a funny horse anyway. Sometimes people thought he hasn't

:14:24. > :14:32.put it all in? He is a talented horse. It is just fantastic to run

:14:32. > :14:34.a Royal Ascot winner for Princess Haya. It worked out. He needed luck

:14:34. > :14:42.in running and thank god he got it today.

:14:42. > :14:46.Did he take a crack on the nose? was finishing fast and they were

:14:46. > :14:50.coming back to him quickly, it was like dodging bullets a bit and then

:14:50. > :14:54.I had to give him a sharp right- hander.

:14:54. > :14:57.I was talking to John a few moments ago saying this horse has been

:14:57. > :15:01.accused of putting his head up when you asked for everything, but today

:15:02. > :15:09.he put his head down and really tried. Can you tell what the

:15:09. > :15:12.reasoning was for that? I got it wrong. Mr Gosden asked me if he

:15:12. > :15:17.needed blinkers, and I said I didn't think so. He ran out at good

:15:17. > :15:24.wood and he doesn't concentrate without the blinkers. There was

:15:24. > :15:27.nothing wrong with his head carriage today with the blinkers on.

:15:27. > :15:37.It is nice to have two in a row? is great.

:15:37. > :15:40.

:15:40. > :15:45.Well done. Beachfire. There was a lot of money

:15:45. > :15:53.left in the satchel there, Gary. Where has that 40,000 on the

:15:53. > :15:57.favourite gone? It just disappeared. William Buick, 16-1 for top jockey.

:15:58. > :16:05.Richard Hughes is still favourite. Remember, Richard Hughes rides one

:16:05. > :16:10.of the steamers Halifax, who was 7- 1. Ryan Moore still 6-5, but Ryan,

:16:10. > :16:14.when is he going to ride a winner? Where did that 40,000 go? This is

:16:14. > :16:21.the answer? If you are you are of a nervous disposition, you you

:16:21. > :16:28.probably don't want to watch. Here is Green Destiny and we will start

:16:28. > :16:32.in the stalls. The problem with the mile and a quarter, everybody wants

:16:32. > :16:34.to get to the rails. Basically, he breaks well enough, but gets

:16:34. > :16:38.crowded out at the start of the race.

:16:38. > :16:42.Jts it is all about position. Michael broke with the intention to

:16:42. > :16:51.sit mid-field, but unfortunately for Michael, everybody else wanted

:16:51. > :16:53.to sit mid-field. Eddie Ahern is is getting pressure and it squeezed

:16:53. > :16:56.Michael back. He ended up at the back of the

:16:56. > :17:00.field. However, so did the winner. We are

:17:00. > :17:05.going to towards towards the home strait. There is the winner. The

:17:05. > :17:08.second horse is here. The third horse here. So winner and the

:17:08. > :17:12.favourite are in identical positions at the back of the field.

:17:12. > :17:16.If we run this on, we will see, Green Destiny does have a lot of

:17:16. > :17:19.space on the inside, doesn't he? thought when Michael picked up that

:17:20. > :17:25.he might struggle to get through, but he never got stopped in his run

:17:25. > :17:29.at all. He got a lovely run up the the rails and there is no excuses.

:17:29. > :17:33.Take nothing away from this winner, we know he is a character, once he

:17:34. > :17:37.got past one and popped himself into gear, he picked up really well

:17:37. > :17:41.and the blinkers have done the trick.

:17:41. > :17:47.Right on the rails, the green jacket. He is well beat. Can we

:17:47. > :17:52.blame the start for that? Or is he on the day not been good enough?

:17:52. > :17:56.Well, unfortunately horses can't talk. Michael wasn't comfortable

:17:56. > :18:06.where he was, so we will never know. That's a very big fence you are sat

:18:06. > :18:14.

:18:14. > :18:24.Duke of Devonshire. He held the role since 1997 and William Buick

:18:24. > :18:28.

:18:28. > :18:31.with his second winner of the day and second winner this week and

:18:31. > :18:34.Princess Hyara there. We have watched really dramatic

:18:34. > :18:42.racing? It has always been good racing.

:18:42. > :18:49.It has been eventful? It was an in- house race there when the wife

:18:49. > :18:52.beats the husband. Well, it would be an interesting journey home,

:18:52. > :18:56.won't it? There will ablot of giggling and laughing on the way

:18:56. > :19:02.home. My head is full of that phrase

:19:02. > :19:12.being taken out of context. We know what you mean! We are going to

:19:12. > :19:17.

:19:17. > :19:22.focus on you for this one because BBC, come on.

:19:22. > :19:25.I don't think people really appreciated just how canny he was

:19:25. > :19:30.in the saddle. I had to do something to beat the

:19:30. > :19:34.filly. I couldn't beat her on form. Going To the outside which is

:19:34. > :19:37.unusual this. The ground under the trees, it is

:19:37. > :19:41.protected from the weather. The roots of the trees would soak

:19:41. > :19:45.up the water. Very canny man young Carson!

:19:45. > :19:51.I knew I would win as soon as they didn't come with me.

:19:51. > :19:54.COMMENTATOR: Willie Carson on the wide outside. He is in front by

:19:55. > :19:59.about two lengths. It became obvious that he had

:19:59. > :20:09.stolen a really big advantage and it was something that won him the

:20:09. > :20:09.

:20:09. > :20:13.race. COMMENTATOR: The mare is the winner.

:20:13. > :20:20.Willie Carson was a very brave man to do what he did.

:20:20. > :20:22.It was very slewed and tip -- shrewd and typical of the man!

:20:22. > :20:29.He returns in the famous blue colours.

:20:29. > :20:38.I had to do something that gave me the edge and obviously I over did

:20:38. > :20:42.And that was one of the only times that she was beaten.

:20:42. > :20:46.She won the Breeders' Cup. Now, what did your trainer, John

:20:46. > :20:55.Dunlop think of that move of brilliance?

:20:55. > :21:00.He wasn't party to it because I had a word with sheikh Hamdon in the

:21:00. > :21:06.paddock and John Dunlop was a bit late getting to the paddock and I

:21:06. > :21:11.went to post and he didn't know what was going to happen. So...

:21:11. > :21:17.you had a word with Richard Hills before and said, "Take the rest of

:21:17. > :21:21.the teeld to the rail -- field to the rails." Ryan Moore had that

:21:21. > :21:25.word with Neil and said we are going to go under the trees. Did

:21:25. > :21:29.you talk to Ryan about that? Did you give him that idea? I don't

:21:29. > :21:37.know. Maybe I did, maybe, I don't know. The ground today is not wet

:21:37. > :21:40.enough, but that would have been a great move if they they -- if the

:21:41. > :21:44.grown was more testing. Those two horses would have been first and

:21:44. > :21:46.second if the ground had been second if the ground had been

:21:46. > :21:51.softer than today. How do you judge the point to cut

:21:51. > :21:56.across? You have to cut across just to make a nice turn, come across

:21:56. > :22:00.now and then meet the rail. You see, on the mile-and-a-half there, I was

:22:00. > :22:05.on the mile course when I did it. That was the mile-and-a-half. I

:22:05. > :22:10.have done it a few occasions on the mile-and-a-half in the October time.

:22:10. > :22:14.Nobody ever talked about that. Nobody noticed it, but it had

:22:14. > :22:21.been... I like the way in the clip you were saying, "Come on BBC.".

:22:21. > :22:24.You have always dictated things! Well, the BBC is the big thing.

:22:24. > :22:27.They are the voice of the world, aren't they, the BBC?

:22:27. > :22:33.Those that are on it and that would be you!

:22:33. > :22:39.Yes. Neil Callum was part of that plan.

:22:39. > :22:49.He is riding in the same colours and the next race is the Queen's

:22:49. > :22:52.

:22:52. > :22:55.are talking about. When did you find out that Ryan was intending to

:22:55. > :23:00.go to the far side rails? We came into the gate and Ryan might have

:23:00. > :23:05.been the last one in and he said, "What are you doing?" I said my

:23:05. > :23:09.main objective was to get my horse to drop his his bridle because he

:23:09. > :23:16.was a little bit keen. Here, you need to conserve your energy. He

:23:16. > :23:20.said, "Well, I'm going under the trees." It kind of worked out, even

:23:20. > :23:25.though he was a little bit slow away. He got up there and it didn't

:23:25. > :23:28.help that the others went off so quick. It made it harder to get my

:23:28. > :23:32.horse back. In the circumstances it kind of helped because if we were

:23:32. > :23:35.trying to get in from where we were drawn, we would have been stuck on

:23:35. > :23:39.the rough ground which was raced on the previous days and there is only

:23:39. > :23:43.enough room for four horses to keep on the fresh ground on the inside.

:23:43. > :23:47.It was fresh ground down the outside rails and it made sense to

:23:47. > :23:52.keep it simple. Briefly, what's the reaction from

:23:52. > :23:57.your run in that race, fourth place. He is a progressive horse, were you

:23:57. > :24:02.pleased with that? I was expecting more because I liked what I felt

:24:02. > :24:07.and saw at home and you know, but you know coming to Royal Ascot you

:24:07. > :24:11.have to have probably even more up your sleeve. He is a nice horse and

:24:11. > :24:16.the only thing I was worried about was coming in so inexperienced. He

:24:16. > :24:20.only had the two runs and he has got to grow up mentally. That

:24:20. > :24:24.wouldn't have done his experience, it would have done him a lot of

:24:24. > :24:31.good and hopefully in the second half of the season we will come to

:24:31. > :24:37.better light. This is only his fourth run and two

:24:37. > :24:43.miles. That must be the big question mark? He won his maiden on

:24:43. > :24:49.over a mile-and-a-half. We didn't expect him to to improve as he did.

:24:49. > :24:53.He went to a mime and six at York and got beat by a well handicapped

:24:53. > :24:57.individual of Michael Bell's. He ran early on in the week. We had

:24:57. > :25:01.the option of going for that race or this race. We thought we would

:25:01. > :25:07.come to this race and take the next leap in grade just to see, you know,

:25:07. > :25:10.is he up to the grade? And B, if he stays the two mile? If it does, it

:25:10. > :25:17.opens up more windows and if it doesn't, we can learn more about

:25:17. > :25:21.the the horse. The Newcastle win was on similar

:25:21. > :25:26.ground to this. Is he versatile on ground? I think he is versatile. He

:25:26. > :25:34.is a big, strong, galloping type. He should go through the ground

:25:34. > :25:40.quite nice. that?

:25:40. > :25:50.Sorry, Suzi. We did try our best for you! He was slow away. He

:25:50. > :25:54.

:25:54. > :26:01.nearly fell over after a furlong. We know we will get plenty of stick.

:26:01. > :26:04.What about the next race. should concentrate on your hats.

:26:04. > :26:14.That's probably a good idea. Let's look at the fashion winners that we

:26:14. > :26:15.

:26:15. > :28:08.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 48 seconds

:28:08. > :28:13.have seen today at Royal Ascot, and lots and lots of different hat

:28:13. > :28:19.shapes at Royal Ascot. Talking about gorgeous hat shapes,

:28:19. > :28:24.this wonderful lady here has some special millinery.

:28:24. > :28:29.We have seen Annabel looking delightful earlier in the day. That

:28:29. > :28:33.is very unusual. Tell us about the inspiration of the head gear today?

:28:33. > :28:37.I walked into a little shop off the King's Road and this lady had a

:28:37. > :28:41.basic design and I looked around and I thought well, butterflies are

:28:41. > :28:45.it this season. I went and bought little butterflies and wound them

:28:45. > :28:49.round myself. So you made it yourself? Well, I

:28:49. > :28:53.can't take the whole credit. The more complicated millinery was an

:28:53. > :28:58.expert for the tweaks. What I like is how you finished off

:28:58. > :29:08.the hole look and tell me about the gloves? On Tuesday I went for 1940s

:29:08. > :29:16.vintage and I thought, you know what, they are from Accesorize.

:29:16. > :29:20.Tell us about your suit. It is very beautiful, I love the skirt?

:29:20. > :29:26.Because we have Royal Ascot dress code, I covered it up. This is a

:29:26. > :29:30.Coast design. I got a jacket from a second samples site and I got the

:29:30. > :29:35.ribbon that matched one of the colours instead of a necklace.

:29:35. > :29:38.You look lovely. You look stunning. Enjoy the rest

:29:38. > :29:41.of your day and we will catch up with you later.

:29:42. > :29:47.What I love is this wonderful lady here.

:29:47. > :29:51.Hello. Now what I have to tell everyone out there is my cup of tea.

:29:51. > :29:56.You look superb. What I love is the way you have finished this really

:29:56. > :30:01.with beautiful tailoring. Tell me about the tailoring? It is from a

:30:01. > :30:04.local shop. A local shop in Alton, called Experience. When I go in

:30:04. > :30:09.there, they know me now and they will always pull something off the

:30:09. > :30:12.shelf that's appropriate and right for my age and size.

:30:12. > :30:16.Really, the question I would like you to tell all the ladies out

:30:16. > :30:20.there is what top tip can you give the ladies? Well, I think you need

:30:20. > :30:30.to dress appropriately. You need to be comfortable for Royal Ascot and

:30:30. > :30:40.

:30:40. > :30:47.you need to dress appropriately for you. This was from a Harvey

:30:47. > :30:50.Nicholls' sale. We like a bit of recycling! It is all here at Royal

:30:50. > :30:54.Ascot. CLARE BALDING: There is a simple

:30:54. > :30:59.way of working out what is going to happen in the Queen's Vase, that is

:30:59. > :31:06.to talk to Mark Johnston. This trainer has won the race six times

:31:06. > :31:11.in the last 11 years. It looks like Namibian has the best chance. What

:31:11. > :31:16.I love this year, you have gone for something different, Mark, which is

:31:16. > :31:20.the tartan on your waistcoat. You have had waistcoats made for all

:31:20. > :31:27.your lads so they match you? just here, all around the country.

:31:27. > :31:33.What is the tartan? Johnston tartan. Not Balding! Very smart idea to

:31:33. > :31:38.stand out a little more. Sum up this race for us? We are all in the

:31:38. > :31:41.same boat to some extent. None of these horses have run two miles

:31:41. > :31:45.before. I find it an exciting race to think what is going to stay the

:31:45. > :31:49.two miles. Quite often the same horse also be entered over a mile-

:31:49. > :31:54.and-a-half earlier in the week and you have to almost take a guess at

:31:54. > :31:58.it. I heard you saying Namibian is the one with the best chance on

:31:58. > :32:03.paper. He is not the certain stayer of the three. The other two are

:32:03. > :32:07.more likely to be out-and-out stayers in time. Yeah. So anyone of

:32:07. > :32:17.them could have a chance? Yes. Absolutely. We have been debating

:32:17. > :32:24.it all morning. I have been saying Eternal Heart. Kevin Darley rode

:32:24. > :32:30.five of your six winners? Didn't realise that! I think it was four.

:32:30. > :32:35.Any of these horses in the field that are similar to Sopie? Nothing

:32:35. > :32:39.like him to be honest. If you think about it, he seemed like such a

:32:39. > :32:43.lazy, slow horse that really almost looked not to be trying all the

:32:43. > :32:49.time. He was never far away in the gallops. After you won on him here,

:32:49. > :32:53.we took him to the mile-and-a-half at Newmarket and you won back in

:32:53. > :32:58.trip on him. I don't think there is any similarities here. They don't

:32:58. > :33:02.come along too often. We better let you get on. Don't leg me up!

:33:02. > :33:07.would take the ride! One more point about Mark and the way he trains

:33:07. > :33:10.and where he trains. He trains at Middleham in North Yorkshire. They

:33:10. > :33:15.go up to the high moor and it is quite, it is half the exercise

:33:15. > :33:20.getting there before they have had a gallop? There is a sign at the

:33:20. > :33:30.end of the high moor gallop which says Middleham four miles. It is

:33:30. > :33:36.all ground work, Clare. Mike's horses gallop and they keep going.

:33:36. > :33:41.It certainly pays off. We wanted to update you with the

:33:41. > :33:46.jockey and trainers. Everything affected by results from today. The

:33:46. > :33:50.highlight today was the Coronation Stakes and a fantastic performance

:33:50. > :33:55.from Immortal Verse. It was a stunning performance, made so by

:33:55. > :34:04.the strong pace in the race? They said it wasn't that strong, but it

:34:04. > :34:09.looked strong to the naked eye. He dropped his filly out, got her

:34:09. > :34:13.relaxed, typical French, how they do it, dropped her out last, let

:34:13. > :34:18.them get on with it and when he came into the straight just eased

:34:18. > :34:24.her right out to the outside and said, "Go on then!" The only

:34:24. > :34:28.trouble was he said afterwards he might have gone too soon and that

:34:28. > :34:33.was only two-and-a-half furlongs from home. She has got a fantastic

:34:33. > :34:36.turn of foot. I would think that this filly - I know she had

:34:36. > :34:40.problems at Newmarket, didn't get into the stalls. What will she have

:34:40. > :34:45.done if she had got into the stalls? The trainer didn't like it

:34:45. > :34:54.when I suggested she might be temperamental. Nothing to do with

:34:54. > :34:58.her temperament! He put me right. Unlikely to win the top jockey

:34:58. > :35:02.award of the week. Richard Hughes out in front on three. William

:35:02. > :35:09.Buick is going to be running at Newmarket tomorrow. Unlikely he

:35:09. > :35:13.will win it. Ryan Moore, Philip Makin, all on one. As for the

:35:13. > :35:18.trainers, Richard Hughes has been riding a lot for Richard Hannon and

:35:18. > :35:23.he is at the top of the table along with Aidan O'Brien. It will be

:35:24. > :35:29.tight tomorrow. Very tight who is going to finish on top. Mr Moore

:35:30. > :35:34.has two good rides tomorrow. He could get to the three and then it

:35:34. > :35:39.will come down to who rode the seconds. Ryan will hate to admit it,

:35:39. > :35:42.but he has risen a lot of seconds. That may play in his favour if he

:35:42. > :35:47.can bag a couple of winners tomorrow. We don't know the answer

:35:47. > :35:53.who is going to win it yet. Good race coming up next, the Queen's

:35:53. > :35:58.Vase. Here is Jim. A real good race. Stamina test for these younger

:35:58. > :36:08.horses, two miles, they will have to get every yard of it here. Let's

:36:08. > :36:42.

:36:42. > :36:45.look at the runners and riders for Queen's Vase course. They start in

:36:45. > :36:49.the straight, and then they have a circuit ahead of them. That is the

:36:49. > :36:57.mile-and-a-half gate on the right. Running downhill, past the mile and

:36:57. > :37:00.a quarter, and all the time turning now, uphill it is. Takes a bit of

:37:00. > :37:06.getting. These younger stayers of course, these could be Gold Cup

:37:06. > :37:11.horses of the future, or they could be Melbourne Cup performers, who

:37:11. > :37:21.knows. The opening show for the Queen's Vase, Namibian is your

:37:21. > :37:34.

:37:34. > :37:40.Regent Street is now 5-1. Let's look at the favourite, this was a

:37:40. > :37:49.few moments ago as he came out on to the course, Namibian, with

:37:49. > :37:55.Silvestre De Souza. Mark Johnston and his wife thinks one of the

:37:55. > :38:01.others is his best chance. That is a very, very handsome horse. Let's

:38:01. > :38:06.look at Henry Cecil's runner in this, Solar Sky. Has had two runs

:38:06. > :38:12.so far this season. Won last time out at Haydock. You think this has

:38:12. > :38:18.a big chance? I hope he has got a big chance. He was second to World

:38:18. > :38:23.Domination on his first time he ran at Newbury. He was last in the race

:38:23. > :38:31.that day and made up a tremendous amount of ground to finish second

:38:31. > :38:36.to his stable companion. Then he went to Haydock in his maiden.

:38:36. > :38:41.rope head collar... He is a bit tricky. They only put - it pacifies

:38:41. > :38:46.horses, doesn't it? It is to get them into the stalls. It pulls on

:38:46. > :38:50.the pull of the head and he's obviously got a bit of - he doesn't

:38:50. > :38:54.like going into the stalls obviously. When he ran at Haydock

:38:54. > :39:00.and won his maiden quite convince lying, although he looked a bit

:39:00. > :39:04.green at the time. Here we have a horse who won't be as green. Aidan

:39:05. > :39:09.O'Brien, a little bit disappointing this week at Royal Ascot. This is a

:39:09. > :39:14.race, though! We talked about Mark Johnston having a great record in

:39:14. > :39:24.it. If they back one of Aidan O'Brien's in this, you know it will

:39:24. > :39:25.

:39:26. > :39:31.go close. They did that with Mikhail Glinka. This has a first

:39:31. > :39:36.rate chance. This is Eternal Heart, this is the one of his three that

:39:36. > :39:40.Mark Johnston - I am sure Mark Johnston said this is the one he

:39:40. > :39:45.thinks has the best chance. The start of this race is in front of

:39:45. > :39:49.the stands. The third of the Mark Johnston trio, Richard Hughes

:39:49. > :39:56.riding with so much confidence, still got that golden armband on.

:39:56. > :40:01.Yes. It gos quite well with the colours. -- it goes quite well with

:40:01. > :40:11.the colours. If he wins this, I don't think Ryan Moore will catch

:40:11. > :40:12.

:40:12. > :40:16.him. No. Those are the odds. Jim? The last few going forward. Joe

:40:16. > :40:23.Fanning rides this Eternal Heart. There's Joe. He has ridden four

:40:23. > :40:28.Royal Ascot winners. He has ridden the winner of this Queen's Vase.

:40:28. > :40:34.Two miles the trip and they are racing. And down near the inside

:40:34. > :40:40.one of the first away is Regent Street, up there though is Eternal

:40:40. > :40:43.Heart crossing over, or trying to, Qushchi is on the rail, further

:40:43. > :40:48.back Regent Street doesn't want to go, there is not a great deal of

:40:48. > :40:55.pace. Out in the centre Eternal Heart a reluctant leader from

:40:55. > :40:58.Regent Street in second, Qushchi, Halifax is out wide, just in behind

:40:58. > :41:04.them is Solar Sky and Ittirad getting up on the rail. A length

:41:04. > :41:07.away further back in the field is Borug, travelling on the inside of

:41:07. > :41:17.Namibian, two lengths away Hawaafez and out the back is End Or

:41:17. > :41:23.Beginning. They settle fully into stride and L'hermitage is last.

:41:23. > :41:30.Regent Street is pulling a bit on the outside there as they settle.

:41:30. > :41:34.Qushchi is tucked away third, then Ittirad is travelling on the inside

:41:34. > :41:40.of Halifax, right there in the centre the pink jacket of Solar Sky,

:41:40. > :41:44.they are followed by Namibian and on the rail is Mickael Barzalona on

:41:44. > :41:51.Borug. They are running downhill towards Swinley Bottom. Further

:41:51. > :41:55.back is End Or Beginning, trapped wide, Ittirad getting on the heels

:41:55. > :41:59.of runners, back second last is Hawaafez and still last is

:41:59. > :42:05.L'hermitage. Heading down past the mile and a quarter, past the nine

:42:05. > :42:09.now, and on the inside it is still Eternal Heart out wide is his

:42:09. > :42:13.stable mate Halifax, up in the centre is Regent Street, tucked

:42:13. > :42:18.away just behind them on the inside rail as they all the time go

:42:18. > :42:22.downhill is Qushchi, followed by Ittirad, who is tracking Qushchi,

:42:22. > :42:25.in the centre Solar Sky, out wider is Namibian. A length-and-a-half

:42:25. > :42:30.further back Borug, on the inside of End Or Beginning, further back

:42:30. > :42:33.in the field is L'hermitage who is going past Hawaafez as they come

:42:33. > :42:37.out of Swinley Bottom, they have six-and-a-half furlongs to travel

:42:37. > :42:41.in the Queen's Vase. On the inside Eternal Heart bidding for a four-

:42:41. > :42:49.timer, out in front here by a length to Halifax up on the outside,

:42:49. > :42:54.very deep, in the centre still there is Regent Street in a nice

:42:54. > :43:01.racing rhythm for Ryan Moore. Qushchi has had the run of the race.

:43:01. > :43:03.Further back in the field then is Ittirad on the inside of Borug, out

:43:03. > :43:08.deeper is End Or Beginning. Hawaafez from the rear starting to

:43:08. > :43:11.run now and L'hermitage is last. Only about eight lengths covers

:43:11. > :43:15.them, it is Eternal Heart on the inside of Halifax and splitting

:43:15. > :43:19.them is Regent Street. In behind them is Solar Sky, right in the

:43:19. > :43:23.centre, Namibian going well on the outside, Qushchi is still on the

:43:23. > :43:27.rail, further back is Ittirad and they are followed by End Or

:43:27. > :43:33.Beginning and in the centre Borug battling away, Hawaafez second last,

:43:33. > :43:36.L'hermitage is last. They kick for home now in the Queen's Vase, two-

:43:36. > :43:41.and-a-half furlongs out, Eternal Heart is in front from Regent

:43:41. > :43:46.Street on the outside now, Namibian and races to them quickly. Solar

:43:46. > :43:50.Sky is behind them. They are followed by Halifax, but Namibian

:43:50. > :43:55.crossing sharply to the inside rail has opened up a gap of two lengths,

:43:55. > :44:00.but here is Solar Sky putting in giant strides for Tom Queally.

:44:00. > :44:08.Namibian is fighting back, it is a ding dong struggle, 100 yards to go,

:44:08. > :44:15.Namibian is kicking back, Solar Sky the outside, Namibian! Namibian has

:44:15. > :44:20.just outstayed Solar Sky. In third is Eternal Heart, followed by

:44:20. > :44:24.Regent Street and then Halifax, a long gap in the field to Hawaafez,

:44:24. > :44:29.then End Or Beginning, Borug is behind them, Ittirad is further

:44:29. > :44:34.back and they are followed by L'hermitage, Qushchi is one of the

:44:34. > :44:40.last, in fact the last. But that was a very gritty and game staying

:44:40. > :44:44.performance by Namibian. The 7-2 favourite has prevailed in a real

:44:44. > :44:53.thriller to the Queen's Vase, the far side Namibian, near side Solar

:44:53. > :44:56.Sky. They hit the line, Namibian by a head from Solar Sky. That was a

:44:56. > :45:02.battle Silvestre De Souza beating Tom Queally. A gap to Eternal Heart.

:45:02. > :45:07.In fourth is Regent Street. In fifth Halifax. In sixth is Hawaafez.

:45:07. > :45:14.They are followed by End Or Beginning in seventh. Then in

:45:14. > :45:18.eighth as they cross the line is Borug. In ninth is Ittirad. In

:45:18. > :45:24.tenth still coming here, still got another one to come, there's

:45:24. > :45:34.L'hermitage and 11th and last is Qushchi who virtually walked across

:45:34. > :45:38.

:45:38. > :45:45.the line. This colt ridden by Silvestre De

:45:45. > :45:54.Souza. Second is 10 Solar Sky, third is Eternal Heart. A neck and

:45:54. > :45:59.seven lengths the distances. 3:40.97 the time. A very happy Mark

:45:59. > :46:03.Johnston after the race. CLARE BALDING: He has such an

:46:03. > :46:08.extraordinary record in this race. It is amazing how many times he

:46:08. > :46:15.wins this race. And how much his horses find. They do respond to

:46:15. > :46:18.pressure. Silvestre De Souza, it is his 50th winner of the season but

:46:18. > :46:23.his first-ever here at Royal Ascot. The manner in which this horse has

:46:23. > :46:28.done it, he hits the front now, a big challenge coming from Tom

:46:28. > :46:34.Queally. Almost looks as if he was going to go ahead, but Namibian

:46:34. > :46:38.keeps fighting back. A real thriller to finish with? That was a

:46:38. > :46:45.thrilling race. He got beaten, well got passed by at least a head, now

:46:45. > :46:49.he is fighting back, De Souza is getting his horse to rally and get

:46:49. > :46:53.there. He's hanging across to his left, he has his stick in the right

:46:53. > :47:00.hand, but the horse was hanging to the left - ooh! That could have

:47:00. > :47:05.been a bit tricky giving that horse a last tap. You can see the smile

:47:05. > :47:12.on his face. There is a stewards' enquiry. I would like to see the

:47:12. > :47:17.head-on. It did look as though he might have given Solar Sky a bit of

:47:17. > :47:23.a bump. As the winning distance is not very long, it could make a

:47:23. > :47:27.difference. It could. At the moment, the Queen's Vase has gone to Mark

:47:27. > :47:33.Johnston again. It is one of those moments where I

:47:33. > :47:37.would like to congratulate you. I did think you were cooked a

:47:37. > :47:44.furlong-and-half out? So did I. I would suspect both horses are

:47:44. > :47:49.coming across the track. I don't know, I haven't seen the head-on.

:47:49. > :47:55.We have come from behind so it would be disappointing if they took

:47:55. > :48:01.it off us. How pleased were you with that perTor mance? I threw a

:48:01. > :48:06.lot of egg -- Performance? I threw a lot of eggs into this basket. I

:48:06. > :48:10.thought Eternal Heart was going to win it. I could clearly see a

:48:10. > :48:20.furlong out that he wasn't and Namibian has burst on the scene.

:48:20. > :48:20.

:48:20. > :48:25.Again, I thought... This is your first look? Yeah. Silvestre's whip

:48:25. > :48:28.is in his right hand? It is clearly in the wrong hand. As I say, that

:48:28. > :48:31.combined with the side-on view that the other horse was in front of us

:48:31. > :48:41.and we have come back again, hopefully the result will stand. We

:48:41. > :48:45.will see. It is one to wait and see. Well done. Thank you very much.

:48:45. > :48:50.Well, there's a good shot of the winner. The crowd when they saw the

:48:50. > :48:55.replay on the big screen, there was a bit of a gasp. Let's have another

:48:55. > :49:02.look at it. The whip is in the right hand, the horse veering to

:49:02. > :49:07.the left. Now they go pretty straight. When they get near the

:49:07. > :49:11.post, then he just veers a little bit, or shifts a little bit to his

:49:11. > :49:16.left. Now as you can see, there is still a distance between them. Is

:49:16. > :49:23.he sort of intimidating him a bit to come over? He will be very

:49:23. > :49:28.unlucky to lose this. There's a bump right on the line. It might be

:49:28. > :49:34.past the line actually. This is what you really want to know. Just

:49:34. > :49:41.there. They have touched there. But I have a feeling that was a stride

:49:41. > :49:48.past the line. I still think he would be very unlucky to lose this.

:49:48. > :49:52.There he is, walking around. He's 12-1 on to keep it. I think that is

:49:52. > :49:55.- 20-1 on now to keep it. That is a pretty accurate reflection of his

:49:55. > :50:05.chances, I would say in the stewards' room. There he is. He is

:50:05. > :50:08.

:50:08. > :50:17.a fine stayer, Namibian. He is by Cape Cross. This is a real stayer.

:50:17. > :50:24.There he is. A good honest day's work. Here's the full result.

:50:24. > :50:29.very game and gutsy Namibian. Looks like he has won the race. There is

:50:29. > :50:35.an enquiry on at the moment. second horse, John, Solar Sky, you

:50:35. > :50:42.know you can bet on the internet, it traded at 1-33 so somebody has

:50:42. > :50:50.had 33 on to win 1 and they have lost!

:50:50. > :50:56.Let's look now at another angle of this finish. And there is Namibian

:50:56. > :50:59.with the point - they are a long way apart. About four or five

:50:59. > :51:04.horses, they come very close but they don't touch because we have

:51:04. > :51:09.seen the head-on. Let's see how far they are off the line when they

:51:09. > :51:18.touch. They come close again, here they are, they go to the line right

:51:18. > :51:20.now and I would say - I would be very, very sure that that wasn't -

:51:20. > :51:25.there wasn't anything material there that was going to affect the

:51:26. > :51:31.result of the race in my opinion. CLARE BALDING: You can see the brow

:51:31. > :51:36.band logo that Mark Johnston has on his runners matching the logo on

:51:36. > :51:40.those waistcoats. The main thing he is concerned about is not logos or

:51:40. > :51:44.uniforms, it is whether or not this horse will keep the Queen's Vase.

:51:44. > :51:50.The chances are he will. We will bring you the result of that

:51:50. > :51:55.inquiry on our red button coverage. So for Mark Johnston, the sixth

:51:55. > :52:03.time he's won the Queen's Vase. is a fantastic record in that race.

:52:03. > :52:07.But he was a very handsome colt, wasn't he? He looked the best. A

:52:07. > :52:12.classy-looking animal. The three- year-old colts that we have been

:52:12. > :52:16.seeing here this week at Royal Ascot, they are a very good bunch

:52:17. > :52:21.of three-year-olds this year. Good- looking horses, fantastic

:52:21. > :52:25.racehorses. But we are a little bit short on the fillies. They are not

:52:25. > :52:29.as good. Not a good crop of the fillies. Depends on that last bump

:52:29. > :52:32.how far it was from the line. you have been watching our coverage,

:52:32. > :52:39.you will know we have not just got access to the stewards' room, we

:52:39. > :52:45.have also got sound. A lot of this will be down to what Tom Queally

:52:45. > :52:48.says, how much did it affect him? Intimidation comes into it. He

:52:48. > :52:54.definitely intimidated the horse. But it all depends on that last

:52:54. > :52:59.bump, if it was, how far it was before the winning post. There is

:52:59. > :53:03.only a foot difference. That would be the deciding factor for the

:53:03. > :53:08.stewards to take into consideration about altering the result. We will

:53:08. > :53:12.bring you coverage of that on our red button, coverage which is going

:53:12. > :53:17.to start shortly. Tomorrow afternoon, the feature race is the

:53:17. > :53:22.Golden Jubilee, a field of 17 declared. We won't know until

:53:22. > :53:25.tomorrow whether Delegator will run in that or not, but Star Witness

:53:25. > :53:30.hoping to become the first big international winner of the week.

:53:30. > :53:33.We are on air at 2.20pm. We will be showing you the highlights of the

:53:33. > :53:37.week and the fashion and everything that we have enjoyed through

:53:37. > :53:40.stunning, well four days so far, the weather has rather dampened

:53:40. > :53:45.everything out there, but not our spirits. Bring your coat if you

:53:45. > :53:49.come tomorrow! It is cold as well. Ryan Moore could become Champion

:53:49. > :53:52.jockey if he wins the first two races tomorrow. You think he's got
