:01:00. > :01:04.Bright sunshine here at Royal Ascot, but a very strong wind it's blowing

:01:04. > :01:08.straight down the course. It hasn't slowed down Newfangled, the

:01:08. > :01:16.impressive winner of the first race, or Thomas Chippendale who worn down

:01:16. > :01:23.his stable mate to take the King Edward VII Stakes and give Henry

:01:23. > :01:27.Cecil a seventh win. Let eats hear from the winning

:01:27. > :01:31.trainer. Here is the winning trainer of the

:01:31. > :01:36.King Edward, Sir Henry Cecil. A one two just like the old days? Love

:01:36. > :01:41.lift very pleased for Sir Robert, he deserves it, puts a lot into

:01:41. > :01:46.racing, he's an improving horse and stays well. He could even be a

:01:46. > :01:51.Leger horse but we'll see. Was it the result you expected? I thought

:01:51. > :01:56.they both deserved to run, they both were going to have a chance

:01:56. > :02:00.and the Derby third was a good horse but he had a harder race than

:02:00. > :02:04.a Derby and he's worth taking on, but two different owners, I hate

:02:05. > :02:09.within beating the other but they both ran well.? Your horse has gone

:02:09. > :02:13.from winning a handicap to a Group 1 at Ascot. Did you believe he was

:02:13. > :02:16.capable of that? He was obviously capable of running in this race

:02:16. > :02:26.because he wouldn't have run it otherwise and it's just nice for

:02:26. > :02:30.Sir Robert to have a good win. about the other horse? Time will

:02:30. > :02:34.tell. They're both improving. The winner's improving, he's still a

:02:34. > :02:38.big baby and he didn't do winter very well, he was a bad eater and

:02:38. > :02:42.everything. Everything's coming good now and he's on the upgrade.

:02:42. > :02:47.Was there any question of the second being a bit naughty in the

:02:47. > :02:50.closing stages? No, I think he did everything right. They're both

:02:50. > :02:57.babies, one's probably slightly more a bigger baby than the other.

:02:57. > :03:01.Thank you very much. Well done. That just a few moments ago. Henry

:03:01. > :03:07.Cecil on the trophy presentation stage. The presentation being made

:03:07. > :03:15.for this race by David Walliams. Oh, hello, he's thrown the trophy to

:03:15. > :03:20.one side! And Lara Stone, David Walliams' wife. Extraordinarily

:03:20. > :03:27.well-known comedian, also raising 8.5 million by swimming the

:03:27. > :03:32.channel and the River Thames. Robert Ogden with Anna Olivera. And

:03:32. > :03:38.Henry Cecil and Johnny Murtagh. Not a result necessarily we would

:03:38. > :03:43.have predicted? Certainly not. Very disappointing run by Astrology.

:03:43. > :03:47.Ryan Moore said he didn't handle the sticky ground? He looked as

:03:47. > :03:51.though he was just niggling out. He was never sitting against the horse,

:03:51. > :03:58.he was always just, his hands were always just moving and he was sort

:03:58. > :04:05.of saying, come on, come on. But anyway, you know, it's 21 days

:04:05. > :04:09.stins Derby and he had a hard race that day -- since the Derby and he

:04:09. > :04:13.had a hard race that day. After the Derby, you take time to recover.

:04:13. > :04:18.You want to be careful you are not blown off your box, you know, a

:04:18. > :04:23.very stprong wind? Were strong wind and the horses are racing straight

:04:23. > :04:29.into the wind -- strong. Obviously, you might get a few horses moving

:04:29. > :04:33.about in the finish. But, as you said, a funny result, but obviously,

:04:33. > :04:38.Sir Henry Cecil there said he's a big, big baby and didn't eat

:04:38. > :04:42.through the winter. That was the interesting part. He didn't do and

:04:42. > :04:47.now that the summer's come, he's starting to eat and get stronger.

:04:48. > :04:54.When you get your horse getting stronger, eel gallop quicker. Of

:04:54. > :04:58.course, that's what he did two weeks before. He ran off 86, his

:04:58. > :05:02.handicap mark. That's right. Now Newmarket? And today he's beat an

:05:02. > :05:09.horse who finished third in the Epsom Derby. Well, we know he

:05:09. > :05:13.didn't run to his form, but he's a very big improvement on the last

:05:13. > :05:21.race. Group 1 action coming up next by way of the Coronation Stakes but

:05:22. > :05:27.let's look at what's already happened today.

:05:27. > :05:31.Sir Henry Cecil was keeping an aye on his wife Lady Jane and Frankie

:05:31. > :05:36.Dettori coming in in great form. Those flags not needing any help to

:05:36. > :05:40.blow in the wind and the Queen leading the Royal procession. The

:05:40. > :05:45.Albany Stakes saw a well-backed favourite, Newfangled set out to

:05:45. > :05:50.make all the running and despite veering toward the left, William

:05:50. > :05:55.Bewick drove her out for an emphatic victory. She may be a

:05:55. > :05:59.1,000 fillies Guinea and looked very, very good. King Edward VII,

:05:59. > :06:05.this was the finish. Thomas Chippendale. Noble Mission coming

:06:05. > :06:08.into shot there. A one two for Henry Cecil. Astrology the odds on

:06:08. > :06:15.favourite was very disappointing. Still to come, we have the

:06:15. > :06:20.Coronation Stakes over a mile. The favourite is Homecoming Queen, the

:06:20. > :06:30.Irish Guineas winner. Laugh Out Loud with Frankie Dettori on board

:06:30. > :06:36.

:06:36. > :06:39.and Samitar combined to win the Willie Carson is keen on the

:06:39. > :06:43.chances of Estimate owned by the Queen. We could have a Royal winner

:06:43. > :06:46.at Royal Ascot. We finish with the Buckingham Palace Stakes on BBC

:06:46. > :06:51.interactive, so press red for that. A lot of people watch Ascot, not

:06:51. > :06:53.necessarily for the racing and the sport, although hopefully you enjoy

:06:53. > :06:57.that, they watch for the fashion. That's why we have a person with

:06:57. > :07:02.that role tolike at what everybody's wearing, tell us about

:07:02. > :07:06.it and see behind-the-scenes on the other hand's sue si Perry. Thank

:07:06. > :07:14.you very much. I'm in the grandstand thruen see how

:07:14. > :07:17.everybody's getting on here. -- Susy Perry. Grandstand to see how

:07:17. > :07:27.everybody's getting on. Some beautiful hats here. Lots of creams.

:07:27. > :07:32.

:07:32. > :07:35.Wow, that is a huge hat! High heels are the order of the day. Lots of

:07:35. > :07:39.bright colours, a real mixture of colours this year. Looked like he'd

:07:39. > :07:49.had a winner. Let's see if these ladies have. You all look fantastic.

:07:49. > :07:50.

:07:50. > :07:59.What are your names? Flo. Tara. Kelly. Where is your outfit from?

:07:59. > :08:04.Dress from Hennes and dress from TK Maxx. And you? Just high street.

:08:04. > :08:08.And your hat? I made that. Well done! Did you see the headlines

:08:08. > :08:14.about the enforcement of the rules? There were so mfplt I've seen all

:08:14. > :08:17.of them and they were trying to push the point through for months

:08:17. > :08:20.now. You are walking around like this all day? Trying to hold on to

:08:20. > :08:27.it, yes, it's really windy. It's the gusting that's the problem.

:08:27. > :08:32.This is a super dress. Where have you had this one from? Jaeger.

:08:32. > :08:37.Lovely. Any winners? Not yet. at all. You can't be doing as badly

:08:37. > :08:42.as me, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. You look terrific though.

:08:42. > :08:48.Thank you very much. Let's have a look at a very, very

:08:48. > :08:52.classy filly here. This is the Coronation Stakes coming up. And

:08:52. > :08:57.let's have a look at number 8, the one I'm interested in, Laugh Out

:08:57. > :09:03.Loud. He really impressed last time, really did a good job. If you lack

:09:03. > :09:08.at her form, she's really only 1-1 bad race. It wasn't even a bad race,

:09:08. > :09:13.it was well back in the 1000 Guineas, didn't have much luck that

:09:13. > :09:19.day. She's on her toes there, as you can see. We'll keep an eye on

:09:19. > :09:29.her later and see how she is when she's in the paddock. Runners and

:09:29. > :10:01.

:10:01. > :10:11.riders for this Coronation Stakes The opening show for this

:10:11. > :10:22.

:10:22. > :10:26.Coronation Stakes is Homecoming In position to have a very gad look

:10:26. > :10:31.at the fillies for the Coronation Stakes is Her Majesty the Queen

:10:31. > :10:37.with her racing adviser and very soon they'll come into the paddock

:10:37. > :10:41.for this Group 1 race. Although Homecoming Queen is favourite, Mick

:10:41. > :10:45.Shannon has every chance of possibly doing what Henry Cecil did

:10:45. > :10:50.in the last race because he's got Samitar and Laugh Out Loud. This

:10:50. > :10:54.gang of ladies holding on to their hats, as am I, are with Laugh Out

:10:54. > :10:58.Loud and Anne Black you are a co- owner, how whiting is this? Amazing.

:10:58. > :11:01.I only have three horses in training and for a small own tore

:11:02. > :11:05.be here today and have one of the most favoured horses in the race is

:11:05. > :11:14.just so exciting. Really exciting. And these girls have been with me

:11:14. > :11:21.every inch of the way. Who are they? We just call them... This is

:11:22. > :11:26.my daughter Emily and some really good old friends. Khalid alMohammed

:11:26. > :11:30.chose her and they are exceptional as owners. I've not met any other

:11:30. > :11:36.owners who'll go through the sales catalogue and choose a horse like

:11:36. > :11:42.they do. They are real owners, they are not luck, they do it by skill.

:11:42. > :11:47.And Mick Shannon, such a fun trainer? Absolutely. I can't

:11:47. > :11:53.believe it, he's such a lovely, lovely guy, a lovely family and

:11:53. > :11:58.it's such a joy to be here. Hell or high water, I've had a very, very

:11:58. > :12:01.bad eight months and today, to see the light at the end of my tunnel,

:12:01. > :12:05.it's just been a roller coaster ride over the last eight months and

:12:05. > :12:10.my horses have just brought me through everything and it's lovely.

:12:10. > :12:13.Absolutely lovely to be here, a real joy. It would be absolutely

:12:13. > :12:18.wonderful today if she could just run well, not necessarily win, just

:12:18. > :12:22.to run well? No, just to be here is a Real Story. Thank you so much for

:12:22. > :12:27.talking to us and I really wish you luck. Thank you very much indeed.

:12:27. > :12:35.The sun really coming out now and the wind dropping down and Anne's

:12:35. > :12:40.friends gathering down here. It hasn't been an easy eight months or

:12:40. > :12:47.so, her horses have kept her going. Oh, sorry, walking into the back of

:12:47. > :12:52.somebody. Rishi, where are you? Relaxing? Willie was saying his

:12:52. > :12:57.feet are sore. We are having a rest. I don't wear good shoes but

:12:57. > :13:01.comfortable shoes, I'm standing on my feet too much. On a box most of

:13:01. > :13:05.the time! They should stay at the wardrobe at home. Here is number 8

:13:05. > :13:09.anyway, Laugh Out Loud, the grey, only beaten twice in her career so

:13:09. > :13:13.far. She was a little disappointing in the Guineas, people put that

:13:13. > :13:17.down to the soft ground. Not sure that that's the case, she'll be all

:13:17. > :13:19.right on the ground, what do you right on the ground, what do you

:13:19. > :13:26.think? She'll be all right on the ground. It's not that bad. Good-to-

:13:26. > :13:30.soft. The thing is, the ground will definitely suit Homecoming Queen, a

:13:31. > :13:36.little filly. But she definitely needs soft ground. She is a little

:13:36. > :13:41.filly. Heard you and Clare talking about her and how small she is, 14-

:13:41. > :13:51.1 I think. I think she's a bit taller than that, but he is very

:13:51. > :13:52.

:13:52. > :14:01.small. These fillies in this strong wind usually they get on idge, the

:14:01. > :14:06.horses -- on edge. John Gosden's got a kunle of horses, -- couple of

:14:06. > :14:14.races. We have Fallen For You? she doesn't quite look good enough.

:14:14. > :14:21.Really? I wouldn't have thought so. She won over in France didn't she?

:14:21. > :14:27.Yes. And Lingfield last time out. John Gosden also got Starscope in

:14:27. > :14:31.the race. And Homecoming Queen, she looks fine doesn't she. You

:14:31. > :14:37.wouldn't think a tiny filly like that would want soft ground, but

:14:37. > :14:41.obviously she does. What about Number 11, Samitar, the Irish 1000

:14:41. > :14:45.Guineas winner? She won well in Ireland. She's going to get tucked

:14:45. > :14:50.in behind and keep out of the wind here today. There's quite a few

:14:50. > :14:55.fillies want to go forward so I would imagine the pace will be very,

:14:55. > :14:59.very fast, but this filly will be held up. She's by Rock of Gibraltar.

:14:59. > :15:03.Will the ground be too soft for her? I'm hoping not because the way

:15:03. > :15:08.she won at the Curragh, you know, she was sitting there until the

:15:08. > :15:15.furlong and a half, still on the bridle. Very impressive. She'll put

:15:15. > :15:21.on a big show today. Mick Shannon has a good chance. Could be first

:15:21. > :15:28.and second. Jim you Fortune is on board

:15:28. > :15:31.Starscope and a huge chance on that. The jockeys about to get their leg

:15:31. > :15:36.up. Joseph O'Brien when he goes up to Homecoming Queen is the one to

:15:36. > :15:46.watch. We have discussed how tall he is. Willie is laughing at him

:15:46. > :15:55.

:15:55. > :15:59.now. He's going up to have a word yourself backwards and forwards.

:15:59. > :16:04.What do you call those things? Brilliant!

:16:04. > :16:09.I am sure that will make Joseph feel more relaxed about the task

:16:09. > :16:13.ahead as he walks up to Homecoming Queen. Aidan will give him a leg up

:16:14. > :16:19.in a moment. I just want to see, before we check the odds for

:16:19. > :16:24.Homecoming Queen, as Joseph goes up to her, almost the sight to see is

:16:24. > :16:28.him standing next to her before he gets on her because you will see

:16:28. > :16:35.the contrast. Bear in mind he's six foot tall. Much taller than his

:16:35. > :16:41.father, even with a top hat on. There she is - the little filly. He

:16:41. > :16:45.could almost wrap his legs around her tummy and fold them in a knot!

:16:45. > :16:54.He will try and make himself as stream-lined as he can, as

:16:54. > :16:59.Homecoming Queen makes her way out on to the course.

:16:59. > :17:05.One of the earliest ones out into the parade, going down early is

:17:05. > :17:15.Laugh Out Loud. We spoke to her co- owner, Ann Black. Frankie Dettori

:17:15. > :17:17.

:17:17. > :17:24.having to sit tight, because she's very much on her toes.

:17:24. > :17:32.We got turned down by Mick Channon. When he heard he said he might have

:17:32. > :17:38.a one-two, he said "Go away." What did Aidan O'Brien say to you?

:17:38. > :17:48.having a bit of fun about the size of the jockey getting on and off.

:17:48. > :17:50.

:17:50. > :18:00.He said 14 '1, he is. Only 14 '1. You ignored me. She is, 14 '1.

:18:00. > :18:01.

:18:01. > :18:04.for the parade. Bugie D'Amore, a 16-1 shot, trained by Alan de

:18:04. > :18:08.Royer-Dupre. Cardigan is Hanagan's contender.

:18:08. > :18:16.She has not won this season, but she won at Haydock on her only

:18:16. > :18:22.start as a two-year-old. Next we have Fallen For You, and William

:18:22. > :18:26.Buick looking side ways. 16-1 shot for William, who won the

:18:27. > :18:31.opener. It is Homecoming Queen who has gone to the other side - the

:18:31. > :18:36.favourite. This 2000 Guineas winner from Newmarket, who then finished

:18:36. > :18:40.fourth in the Irish 2000 Guineas. She loves soft ground. Probably

:18:40. > :18:45.needs that to be at her best. I wonder if he will try and make all

:18:45. > :18:51.into the strong head-wind or hide her behind one of the bigger horses

:18:51. > :18:56.and they are all bigger than she is. Intense Pink, this is a big step up

:18:56. > :19:02.in class. With the prize money going all the way down to sixth

:19:02. > :19:06.place, plenty of people deciding it is worth taking a chance. The only

:19:06. > :19:12.Godolphin runner in this race is Irish History. Barzalona gets the

:19:12. > :19:18.ride. She's 12-1. She won her first start this year at Windsor.

:19:18. > :19:28.Ryan Moore is on board Russelliana for his boss, Sir Stoute. She has

:19:28. > :19:29.

:19:29. > :19:35.bits and bobs of form, but was disappoints last time out.

:19:35. > :19:39.Starscope, second in the 1,000 Guineas. Third at Newbury. She

:19:40. > :19:49.could bounce back. John Gosden's horses are running well. This is

:19:50. > :20:22.

:20:22. > :20:32.the feature race of the day at money.

:20:32. > :20:34.

:20:34. > :20:40.Now, So You Think goes on and wins. Racing in the Gold Cup and it's

:20:40. > :20:50.Opinion Poll. Colour Vision has gone on to win

:20:50. > :21:15.

:21:15. > :21:20.Coronation Stakes. First run in 1840. It was founded to commemorate

:21:20. > :21:25.the crowning of Queen Victoria in 1838. It will be presented by the

:21:25. > :21:29.Duke of York, but who will be collecting it? Traditionally this

:21:29. > :21:39.race brings together the winners of the British, the Irish and the

:21:39. > :21:41.

:21:41. > :21:47.French 1,000 Guineas. This is Sam - - this is the winner of the British.

:21:47. > :21:52.Don't forget Laugh Out Loud and Mick Channon wouldn't talk to you

:21:52. > :21:57.because he was so nervous. He is excited and nervous. So he should

:21:57. > :22:01.be because he's got two fillys in this race with fantastic ability. A

:22:01. > :22:07.Guineas winner from Ireland. His first ever classic winner. This

:22:07. > :22:13.filly here you are looking at is Homecoming Queen. 14-1. She's a --

:22:13. > :22:18.14 '1. She's a giant! She has a giant heart. She might be

:22:18. > :22:27.small in stature, but when she won the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket that

:22:27. > :22:31.day, she absolutely murdered every filly in that race. There is...

:22:31. > :22:35.Barzalona walking her to the one- mile start. It is one mile on the

:22:35. > :22:39.round course. The rail has been taken down today, so they are

:22:39. > :22:44.running on fresh ground. We will look at the course. We saw them in

:22:44. > :22:48.the king Edward VI. They move back into the rail to

:22:48. > :22:54.take the shortest. Those horses were on ground on the inside that

:22:54. > :22:58.has not been used before. And just by... They may come down the middle

:22:58. > :23:01.and then go to the rail. No, they will be right on the inside rail

:23:01. > :23:05.because that is all fresh. They have taken down the running rail

:23:05. > :23:10.that was up, the false rail and they will be all on the inside.

:23:10. > :23:14.They will get back on to sort of old ground when they get into the

:23:15. > :23:19.straight. That is when they fan out. You see there just the slight

:23:19. > :23:25.uphill finish. Yes. It is a long, long way home, particularly for

:23:25. > :23:29.fillies and into a head-wind. head-mind today. There are quite a

:23:29. > :23:36.lot little fillies here that will be going forward when the gates

:23:36. > :23:46.open, so you would imagine that... Let's look at Samitar, who won the

:23:46. > :23:46.

:23:46. > :23:51.Albany here last year. Hugely improved form to win the

:23:51. > :23:56.Irish last time out. That form franked by the winner up wining the

:23:56. > :24:03.Jersey earlier this year. Yes. The ground would be the key to this

:24:03. > :24:11.filly n a sense, that she is by Rock of Gibbons.

:24:11. > :24:13.-- Rock of Gibraltar. Back to Samitar - the ground could

:24:13. > :24:20.be just a little bit too easy for her.

:24:20. > :24:26.It's a worry, put it that way. She is possibly t way she won the 1,000

:24:26. > :24:30.Guineas in Ireland, she did it so well. And that gave Mick Channon a

:24:30. > :24:36.first classic winner England or Ireland. He had won plenty in

:24:36. > :24:42.Germany, but a first of the quality classics. Homecoming Queen, 9-4

:24:42. > :24:49.favourite. Laugh Out Loud 7-2. Samitar 9-2. Laugh Out Loud, there

:24:49. > :24:53.in the middle, the grey filly. Frankie said he will sit close to

:24:53. > :24:58.the pace but he may not have to do that if Joseph goes out in front.

:24:58. > :25:04.You can see there, Frankie, he would have a chance. Yes. He has a

:25:04. > :25:08.chance. And Mick Channon, he could have a one-two.

:25:08. > :25:12.The ground is on the easy side today. That's what she likes.

:25:12. > :25:16.many more to go forward. Homecoming Queen will be one of the last.

:25:16. > :25:25.Let's join Jim. THE COMMENTATOR: The last couple going forward.

:25:25. > :25:31.Homecoming Queen, a -- there is Frankie. He is in the middle, he's

:25:31. > :25:35.in stall six, so not in such a disadvantaged position as William

:25:35. > :25:38.Buick and Fallen For You. They are set. Off and running in this

:25:38. > :25:42.Coronation Stakes and away to a fair start too. Laugh Out Loud is

:25:42. > :25:45.one of the first to get going. Thrup too on the inside going

:25:45. > :25:50.through is Homecoming Queen, to take out the early running from

:25:50. > :25:55.Samitar. In fourth position, early, is Irish History. They are a

:25:55. > :26:03.length-and-a-half in advance of Starscope and further back, on the

:26:03. > :26:09.inside, Intense Pink. Further back Bugie D'Amore. At last is Cardigan.

:26:09. > :26:15.Homecoming Queen is out in front, by a length, to second, Laugh Out

:26:15. > :26:19.Loud. The orange jacket of Samitar. A length further back follows Irish

:26:19. > :26:26.History. Two lengths away is Starscope, on the outside of

:26:26. > :26:30.Intense Pink. Bugie D'Amore for France. Racing up

:26:30. > :26:34.towards the entrance of the home straight, three-and-a-half furlongs

:26:34. > :26:38.to travel. It's Joseph O'Brien on Homecoming Queen, leading by a

:26:38. > :26:42.length to Laugh Out Loud. Samitar has the run of the race. A length

:26:42. > :26:46.away is Irish History, followed by Starscope, around the outside. In

:26:46. > :26:50.behind them, batting away, is Intense Pink, followed then by

:26:50. > :26:53.Bugie D'Amore. He kicks for home, Joseph, as they come inside the two

:26:53. > :26:58.now. Homecoming Queen in front. Here come the challengers. Samitar

:26:59. > :27:03.is out of the pocket. Down the outside is Fallen For You. Fallen

:27:03. > :27:10.For You coming home at 100 miles per hour, grabs a lead and a

:27:10. > :27:15.furlong left to go. Has sprinted three in front. Fallen For You is

:27:15. > :27:20.racing away here. Fallen For You goes on to win it for William Buick

:27:20. > :27:24.and for John Gosden. Three or four lengths. Second

:27:24. > :27:29.Starscope. Third Irish History, followed then by Bugie D'Amore and

:27:29. > :27:33.then followed by Samitar. A long gap and Laugh Out Loud, from

:27:33. > :27:40.Intense Pink. Homecoming Queen has beaten only two home. And they are

:27:40. > :27:46.Russelliana and Cardigan. Fallen For You - a classy filly.

:27:46. > :27:52.Here she is, crossing the line for William Buick and what a meeting

:27:52. > :27:57.they're having, he and John Gosden. Second, Starscope. Jimmy Fortune.

:27:57. > :28:02.In third then is Irish History, Barzalona. Fourth in, very tight,

:28:02. > :28:07.oh, that is very, very tight. Far side it is Samitar, near side is

:28:07. > :28:17.Bugie D'Amore. Only a nose in that.

:28:17. > :28:17.

:28:17. > :28:21.And then a gap to Laugh Out Loud, who has not run her race at all.

:28:22. > :28:27.Then behind Laugh Out Loud, Intense Pink and then Homecoming Queen, who

:28:27. > :28:32.carted them along and got weary when they came to the home straight,

:28:32. > :28:37.finished a long way back then Russelliana and Cardigan, having

:28:37. > :28:47.only her second race card has finished last. The winner is number

:28:47. > :28:49.

:28:49. > :28:53.four, Fallen For You. Owned -- trained by John Gosden and ridden

:28:53. > :28:58.by William Buick. I was saying a disadvantage to be on the outside.

:28:58. > :29:02.Well it was not to prove that way at all. William Buick has been able

:29:02. > :29:11.to get Fallen For You into a position where she swooped and she

:29:11. > :29:19.did it to some devastating effect. Samitar has fourth. The distance is

:29:19. > :29:23.three and a quarter lengths and two and a quarter lengths. 1.42. 95.

:29:23. > :29:33.William Buick is back in the winner's enclosure again, enjoying

:29:33. > :29:37.

:29:37. > :29:40.that signifies jockey of the week. John Gosden goes into the lead for

:29:40. > :29:43.the trainers' Championship this week. They are having a wonderful

:29:44. > :29:47.Royal Ascot and this filly's produced the race of her life, a

:29:47. > :29:51.career best performance for her. She's ran twice this year on the

:29:51. > :29:57.all-weather. One first time out and finished sixth in a Group 3 race.

:29:57. > :30:00.Today she comes to Ascot and wins a Group 1 and Willie, you look at it

:30:00. > :30:06.again and again and you would never have predicted this before the race,

:30:06. > :30:11.I don't think anyone did? No. The only thing was that William

:30:11. > :30:17.Bewick's chosen this filly over others in the race and the reports

:30:17. > :30:23.were that she had been working very well at home but, when you lack at

:30:23. > :30:29.her form, you thought, well it's just a little bit too much a bridge

:30:29. > :30:33.to get over. He's also ridden a very patient race, second last

:30:33. > :30:37.turning into the straight, switches her wide, nothing interrupts her

:30:37. > :30:43.momentum or rhythm and she quickens into a three length lead and John

:30:43. > :30:48.Gosden as the one two because Starscope gets the better of the

:30:48. > :30:51.battle for second over Irish History. It's amazing how the form

:30:51. > :30:55.can turn, things that you would never thought could happen.

:30:55. > :30:59.Homecoming Queen desperately disappointing. Tiny little filly,

:30:59. > :31:04.obviously all the racing she's had is starting to tell on her and they

:31:04. > :31:10.didn't let her get away. She was first into the head wind where

:31:10. > :31:18.William Bewick kept his filly tucked away and came up to the

:31:18. > :31:23.outside and whoosh, went past as if they were all standing still. This

:31:23. > :31:28.filly has started to improve at a very, very fast pace because, as

:31:28. > :31:32.you said, the last time she was running, it was on the all-weather

:31:32. > :31:39.on a Group 3 and didn't even win. William showing that he can ride a

:31:39. > :31:45.race from the front, like he did on Newfangled, or a waiting horse like

:31:45. > :31:49.he did on this, Fallen For You. Not even 24 years old yet and

:31:49. > :31:53.developing into such a wise jockey. You can see his back leg coming

:31:53. > :31:59.right up out of the saddle there. He lost contact there with the

:31:59. > :32:03.horse. Definitely putting all his energy into pushing her forwards

:32:03. > :32:07.obviously. But when you're riding in Group 1 races, I suppose you

:32:08. > :32:11.have to keep going until you get past that winning line. We thought

:32:11. > :32:15.Mick Shannon might be the one more likely to have a one two, but

:32:15. > :32:19.Samitar didn't pick up, Laugh Out Loud was with the pace, dropped

:32:19. > :32:26.away. They've ran a reasonable race, but these two, don't forget the

:32:26. > :32:31.second horse here finished second in our 1000 Guineas. So you've seen

:32:31. > :32:41.a very special race here when you've got John Gosden having a one

:32:41. > :32:50.

:32:50. > :32:56.two, emulating Sir Henry Cecil who my Lords, ladies and gentlemen,

:32:56. > :33:00.what a day, what a week for John Gosden and William Buick. Today,

:33:00. > :33:10.victorious in the Group, the Coronation Stakes with a filly

:33:10. > :33:14.

:33:14. > :33:20.owned by Normandy stud, Fallen For You!

:33:20. > :33:26.JIM MCGRATH: Justified applause as well. Bred by the Normandy Stud and

:33:26. > :33:32.this will be a very valuable filly, she's improved so much. We saw her

:33:32. > :33:37.at Kempton on the all-weather two starts ago in May. That was

:33:37. > :33:44.transferred from here from Ascot to Kempton on the all-weather. Started

:33:44. > :33:49.5-1 on that day ridden by rhine Moore and she ran out of effortless

:33:49. > :33:54.-- Ryan Moore and she ran out an effortless winner then ran out to

:33:54. > :34:04.Lingfield, back to the seven there from a mile.

:34:04. > :34:10.She was beaten into sixth position. So Fallen For You, she's come up

:34:10. > :34:20.trumps today. That time is 4.63 seconds outside the record. Ground

:34:20. > :34:28.very much on the slow side today. It really is sunk in, that rain

:34:28. > :34:36.that we had overnight. So slow times. But Fallen For You is a

:34:36. > :34:39.really good winner from Starscope, the stable mate and Irish History

:34:39. > :34:46.winning a place for Godolphin back in third. The two classic winners

:34:46. > :34:52.are a long way behind them, Homecoming Queen and Samitar. That

:34:52. > :35:02.smile says it all. Let's check the full result now on the Coronation

:35:02. > :35:10.

:35:10. > :35:15.Gosden. Get ready for Gatewood next, doubles and trebles going on this!

:35:15. > :35:22.John, what was the trigger for this per for manslaughter from Fallen

:35:22. > :35:25.For You today? -- performance for Fallen For You today? I said be up

:35:25. > :35:28.there because it was riding fast and the speed was holding at

:35:28. > :35:33.Newmarket and that was riding her back-to-front. Then she had a

:35:33. > :35:38.holiday, came back and she had it in her mind she was always too keen.

:35:38. > :35:42.Ryan won on her at Kempton. But it wasn't where he wanted to be. We

:35:42. > :35:45.ran her behind the lovely filly of Henry's and she got in trouble but

:35:46. > :35:50.learned a lot. She trained beautifully, worked beautifully

:35:50. > :35:55.last Sunday morning. Really thrilled with her work and we were

:35:55. > :35:59.ready for a big run if it slotted. They went hard up front. There's a

:35:59. > :36:02.head wind. She is classy, it's not a fluke. Indeed and William

:36:02. > :36:06.standing close by. John was saying about the pace of that race and how

:36:06. > :36:10.well that suited her today? Yes, I always thought previously

:36:10. > :36:14.when she's run, things have conspired against her and today

:36:14. > :36:21.everything went towards her, it was perfect for her, good gallop, cover

:36:21. > :36:25.from the wind and a good rhythm. She finished the race well and won

:36:25. > :36:29.very easily. It's no fluke, this is how good he is and hopefully now

:36:29. > :36:34.it's onwards and upwards. The team believed she's very good, but how

:36:34. > :36:37.impressed were you by the turn of foot? Very impressed. Taking on the

:36:38. > :36:43.best of a generation, of course I'm impressed. Third win of the week,

:36:43. > :36:47.time for the presentation. Well done. Thank you. I'm joined by

:36:47. > :36:50.Martin Harley, he's battered, not bruised, very pleased with your

:36:50. > :36:56.filly Samitar, but you said the ground might not have been in your

:36:56. > :37:00.favour? Exactly. She jumped well, I thought I had a great seat all the

:37:00. > :37:05.way, was covered from the good head wind out there. Is it a real

:37:05. > :37:12.struggle for them? I wouldn't like to be - that two-year-old was

:37:12. > :37:17.impressive to jump out and do what she did in that head wind - it's

:37:17. > :37:19.quite distracting, yes. I thought she was going to pick up and do

:37:19. > :37:24.something, but she gave everything and ran all the way to the line.

:37:24. > :37:28.That's all you can ask for. Well done. Exactly. Thank you. His Royal

:37:28. > :37:32.Highness the Duke of York making the presentation here. Phillipa

:37:32. > :37:38.Cooper, the owner breeder who owns Norman day Stud, the name under

:37:38. > :37:42.which her horses run. That is a big, big trophy to take home. And for

:37:42. > :37:48.John Gosden, he is enjoying the best Royal Ascot of his career.

:37:48. > :37:52.Three winners already and out in front now in the race to be leading

:37:52. > :37:58.trainer. He's never quite managed that yet and he's had good Royal

:37:58. > :38:03.Ascots in the past. But they have to have a one two in a Group 1 and

:38:03. > :38:07.Henry Cecil also enjoying a golden week. It's a great day for

:38:07. > :38:13.Newmarket so far, they have displaced Aidan O'Brien who's had

:38:13. > :38:18.two hot favourites beaten today, Homecoming Queen and Astrology,

:38:18. > :38:21.neither of who even made the first three. William Buick, everybody

:38:21. > :38:26.apreeshing his talents now. He was born in Norway and his father was

:38:26. > :38:30.an eight time champion jockey in Scandinavia. He came to ride for my

:38:30. > :38:37.father when he was about 14, he was tiny, weighed about five stone and

:38:37. > :38:41.dad thought he was such a good rider, he took 1,000 to 1 that

:38:41. > :38:46.William Buick, before he'd ever ridden in a race, got a bookmake

:38:47. > :38:51.tore give him 1,000 to 1 that he would make champion jockey and it

:38:51. > :38:56.may yet happen. Let's have a look back at some of

:38:56. > :39:06.the bits of this Coronation Stakes then. The winner was not one of the

:39:06. > :39:06.

:39:06. > :39:11.leading contenders. Here is the start. Fortunately,, or

:39:11. > :39:15.unfortunately, a very windy day. The white face breaks awkwardly.

:39:15. > :39:21.Here is the winner from the extreme right from the highest draw of all.

:39:21. > :39:28.And with the likelihood of a strong gallop, William Buick drops her at

:39:28. > :39:33.the back. Cardigan is messed around by the others. Very awkward for

:39:33. > :39:38.Paul Hanagan. William Buick's done well though, he knows he needs to

:39:38. > :39:43.slot his filly in. As well, he is saved from the buffeting of the

:39:43. > :39:45.wind. Plus he knows that the one to beat has in the last couple of runs,

:39:46. > :39:50.inCludding the good win at Newmarket made the running and also,

:39:50. > :39:56.everybody else is not going to want to let her get too far ahead. This

:39:56. > :40:01.was the result of a fairly strong gallop earlier on. They went quick.

:40:01. > :40:07.As you alluded to, a lot of the horses were beaten when they turn

:40:07. > :40:13.ford home. Homecoming Queen in front. The muck Shannon pair --

:40:13. > :40:17.Mick Shannon pair there. She's making progress, Fallen For You, in

:40:17. > :40:20.the pink and white jacket. She's just hidden by Russelliana, so at

:40:20. > :40:24.the three quarters of a mile from home, there is the winner, there is

:40:24. > :40:29.the second placed horse, there is the third, and you see the front

:40:29. > :40:34.three at this stage do not figure in the placings of the race. Let's

:40:34. > :40:41.look what came into the home straight. Still, Fallen For You is

:40:41. > :40:48.a little way behind the others on the outside making her challenge.

:40:48. > :40:52.There is Samitar like a perfect position for Martin Harley. Yes, he

:40:52. > :41:00.said he'd no real executions, Homecoming Queen is just coming to

:41:00. > :41:07.the end of her tether. The other horses felt flat, didn't pick it up

:41:07. > :41:11.at all. Second and third horses, Starscope

:41:11. > :41:16.second at Newmarket in the 2000 Guineas, been beaten over further

:41:16. > :41:20.since, another solid win at group level for her. Godolphin's horse

:41:20. > :41:24.has run a little late on but it's only her third start and a tough

:41:24. > :41:28.task, the toughest to date? Yes, but the thing we have to take out

:41:28. > :41:32.of this race is, whatever John Gosden's got at the rest of this

:41:32. > :41:36.meeting, you've got to try and be on it. Only nine races left. Fallen

:41:36. > :41:42.For You, she'd been one of the leading contenders for the two-

:41:42. > :41:46.year-old races, the Mayhill and Fillies Mile last year. She is at

:41:46. > :41:54.the top of the rankings. We have three-year-olds who've won races

:41:54. > :41:58.and it will take a while to work out exactly which one is the best.

:41:58. > :42:02.William came to Royal Ascot having ridden three winners in his life,

:42:02. > :42:07.he's doubled it just this week, taken his career total to six, the

:42:07. > :42:11.leading jockey so far this week and he's not finished yet because he

:42:11. > :42:16.has Gatewood in the next and Gosden has Beachfire also in that case.

:42:17. > :42:22.Her enjoying a great day. Did they go too fast? They could have, but

:42:22. > :42:27.it's the style of those fillies. In the past that's what they've done.

:42:27. > :42:30.It looks as though they went too fast. But it seemed to suit the

:42:30. > :42:35.horses coming from behind. The ground is on the slow side, so I

:42:35. > :42:43.would imagine the horses upfront did two a little too fast, but it's

:42:43. > :42:48.the way it's panned out. I could see a hat flying across the paddock.

:42:48. > :42:58.Mine keeps moving but hasn't blown off yet. Let's see how people are

:42:58. > :43:26.

:43:26. > :43:31.make a Diamond Jubilee cocktail, or probably I'm going to show you how

:43:31. > :43:39.not to make it. Nathan from the Savoy, do you want to grab the mic

:43:39. > :43:43.because I'm going to start it. What do we do? Fresh fruit juice, grape

:43:43. > :43:48.fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, lemon juice to create the

:43:48. > :43:53.balance as well, give it nice acidity. Almond syrup, two big

:43:53. > :43:57.squeezes to help with the nuttyness and sweetness. OK. Cup of tea?

:43:57. > :44:06.Little bit of Earl grey to go along with the traditional punch from the

:44:06. > :44:14.1700s. How much do we need? stop? Perfect. Two good healthy

:44:14. > :44:19.measures of Bombay Sapphire gin, a very key ingredient. Two of these?

:44:19. > :44:24.Yes. Three even better! Yes, you know me!

:44:24. > :44:29.Next up, chill the glasses with some ice here. Am I going to shake

:44:29. > :44:33.this? Yes, but we are going to put the cap on first so it doesn't go

:44:33. > :44:38.over that beautiful white jacket. know, I did wear the perfect

:44:38. > :44:41.clothes. I don't want to have a comedy moment. Put it on.

:44:42. > :44:51.Cruise. Here we go. Cocktail. We are going to put some ice in it

:44:52. > :44:53.

:44:53. > :44:59.first. I knew that! Quickly. ice? Ice. All the way to the stop.

:44:59. > :45:04.Shake er and shake! OK. Lots of love and passion. This is being

:45:04. > :45:11.made with total love and passion here. Very good. All right. We are

:45:11. > :45:20.going to top these wine glasses up with fresh ice, very quickly here.

:45:20. > :45:28.Yes, OK. Some ice in here. There we go. Yes. Next thing you do is pour

:45:28. > :45:32.over the ice. Here it comes. Here we go, Diamond Jubilee. Beautiful.

:45:32. > :45:35.Looking good. What do you think? Fantastic. Great colour you have

:45:35. > :45:40.there. Thank you very much. One more thing, finish the glass with a

:45:40. > :45:47.built more ice before the champagne. Oh, more ice. Ice is our friend in

:45:47. > :45:51.the cocktail world! Then top up with champagne there.

:45:51. > :45:58.Thank you very much. There we go. A lady can't drink alone so I've

:45:58. > :46:04.picked myself a rather hot date in the form of Jake Warren who runs

:46:04. > :46:09.the Bird Cage Club here. Very professional. Unprofessional but

:46:09. > :46:14.thank you very much. The Bird Cage, test it for yourself and tell us

:46:14. > :46:18.what you think? Delicious. Serving them at the Bird Cage. Definitely.

:46:18. > :46:23.Shall I pop down? I'll be the oldest person in there if I come

:46:23. > :46:27.down. Absolutely not. It's for hot young things. You are a massive

:46:27. > :46:30.racing fan aren't you, you have your own racehorse? Yes, we have

:46:30. > :46:33.been doing it for a while now. The Bird Cage has been running for

:46:33. > :46:38.three years in the Royal enclosure and it's a great space for the

:46:38. > :46:48.young to enjoy racing and Ascot and have a place to be amongst their

:46:48. > :46:54.

:46:54. > :46:58.won his maiden at Newbury. He won on the soft ground, which was not

:46:58. > :47:02.quite for him. We've giving him a bit of a rest, waiting for firmer

:47:02. > :47:08.ground. We hope to get him on the tracks around the Olympics.

:47:08. > :47:14.shall look out for it. Shall we have cheers with our Diamond

:47:14. > :47:19.Jubilee cocktail? Cheers to you! Now, if you are a flat jockey, you

:47:19. > :47:25.would want to be in this man's boots today - William Buick. He's

:47:25. > :47:33.got a winning double on the board. Three winners for the week. He

:47:33. > :47:42.wears that armband there - that signifies he's the top jockey. We

:47:42. > :47:48.have only nine races left for the week. This is the man who leads

:47:48. > :47:54.them. This is the Wolferton Handicap. It is over a mile and a

:47:54. > :48:04.quarter. We have three non-runners now with Danadana coming out late.

:48:04. > :48:04.

:48:04. > :48:50.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 46 seconds

:48:50. > :49:00.Richard Hughes, looking for his first winner this week. He's on

:49:00. > :49:02.

:49:02. > :49:09.board Sirvino. He has written an August toe biography. It it is

:49:09. > :49:14.called "a weight off my mind." He is the son and former trainer of

:49:14. > :49:21.Dezzy Hughes. From happy beginnings. It has not always been happy

:49:21. > :49:27.sailing, as he revealed. I was not enjoying it. Every time I

:49:27. > :49:32.rode a winner, it was, I haven't been found out. It was just my

:49:32. > :49:42.whole attitude, you know. I thought people ran racing for me, you know

:49:42. > :49:45.

:49:45. > :49:50.Richard Hughes. I'd have a bad day get drunk. Have

:49:50. > :49:58.a good day get drunk. There was no difference. I know when I read it

:49:58. > :50:05.first, it was almost cringe worthy. What did it feel like for you?

:50:05. > :50:11.don't mind at all, because when you are off alcohol for a long time you

:50:11. > :50:15.actually believe you are OK. Especially at Ascot, you see

:50:15. > :50:19.sparkling champagne. Just one will be all right. It brings me back to

:50:19. > :50:24.where it brings me and all the tour moil with it. On a daily basis I go

:50:24. > :50:31.through that any way. I remind myself I'm a alcoholic. It's not OK.

:50:31. > :50:35.When did you first know you had a real problem? -- he had a real

:50:35. > :50:39.problem? I caught him halfway in the door, halfway out the door. I

:50:39. > :50:44.walked up to the door where we were living. I thought he was dead or

:50:44. > :50:47.someone had attacked him. I thought ux we definitely have a problem. I

:50:47. > :50:53.hounded him. I said you have to see someone about it. He would not

:50:53. > :50:58.listen to me. It is very graphic in the book, how you described how you

:50:59. > :51:07.came to your senses. There was a situation with Lizzie, where you

:51:07. > :51:11.felt you had to come clean. I gave up for three months. At first, I

:51:11. > :51:16.thought I have a problem. Even though I admitted I was an

:51:16. > :51:21.alcoholic. After three months I celebrated that I'd done three

:51:21. > :51:29.months. Within two weeks I was worse than I was ever before. I

:51:29. > :51:36.cheated on Lizzie. Got caught. Probably that was the lowest point.

:51:36. > :51:42.How hard were times for you? It was awful, because it's funny I never

:51:42. > :51:47.doubted he was the within. I always knew it was just him not, not

:51:47. > :51:51.really him, if you know what I mean? He was going through a stage.

:51:51. > :51:56.So long as people don't think I'm a doormat, which I'm certainly not.

:51:56. > :52:02.Don't get me wrong, he's had his two strikes. That is the sort of

:52:02. > :52:08.place I was in. I didn't know if I was coming or going. The guilt, it

:52:08. > :52:12.was catching up with him. I knew if I married her I would get found out.

:52:12. > :52:18.We were supposed to get married. We went to tell dad it was all off. I

:52:18. > :52:24.think dad thought it was a bit of a joke and hugey said, no it's not.

:52:24. > :52:30.He still asked if he could ride out. Dad said, certainly not. When you

:52:30. > :52:37.went back to Ireland you saw Johnny Murtagh. Someone who has gone

:52:37. > :52:41.through that thing. How much did you take that he has gone through

:52:41. > :52:46.it and come out? If I went into meeting other alcoholics, it's all

:52:46. > :52:50.right for them. They don't have to get up at 6am and eat nothing all

:52:50. > :52:54.day. It would be a very easy way out for me. When he'd been there

:52:55. > :53:04.and done it, there was no reason I couldn't do it. How difficult then

:53:05. > :53:05.

:53:05. > :53:10.was it for you to go to an AA meeting? It was hard. I felt that

:53:10. > :53:15.low. There are great people in AA. We all help each other. It's

:53:15. > :53:25.nothing to do ashamed off. You can defend alcohol all your life and

:53:25. > :53:26.

:53:26. > :53:32.finally when you said, I -- it's beaten me. You talk about it as a

:53:32. > :53:39.disease which kids you haven't got it? I was six months going to AA.

:53:39. > :53:44.One evening I sat in the back of the room, I just accepted I was an

:53:44. > :53:47.alcoholic. Knowing you are and accepting it is a different thing.

:53:47. > :53:55.There are some people in wheelchairs and they cannot get out

:53:55. > :53:58.of them. All I needed to do was get out of it. How proud are you of him

:53:58. > :54:03.getting himself straight and for being the person he is now?

:54:03. > :54:08.Brilliant. Words cannot describe it, to be honest. He's just the man I

:54:08. > :54:15.always thought he was, inside. He's proving that now. She stood behind

:54:15. > :54:22.me, thank God. Stuck by me and she's been rewarded

:54:22. > :54:28.now - I'm not a bad fella when I'm on the straight and narrow. He says

:54:28. > :54:34.you are his rock now. I suppose I did put up with quite a bit. I

:54:34. > :54:38.don't mind taking that maybe... Reluctantly. She's so lovely,

:54:38. > :54:42.Lizzie. You can see all the jockeys there watching that story. I bet

:54:42. > :54:47.you there'll be someone, somewhere in the country thinking, he is

:54:47. > :54:52.talking about me, he's : I am in that position and may become more

:54:52. > :54:58.honest with themselves because of that. An incredible interview. They

:54:58. > :55:04.have two children now. They have Phoebe and Harvey. They are happy

:55:04. > :55:09.together. Lizzie runs a hat hire business. A lot of women here are

:55:09. > :55:14.wearing hats they hired from Lizzie. I went and had a drink with them

:55:14. > :55:21.last night. In the back of the boot there are all Lizzie's hats.

:55:21. > :55:26.Bringing them back, and renting them the next day. He's one of my

:55:26. > :55:31.best mates. I have to say, I am unbelievably proud of him writing

:55:31. > :55:35.that book. He bared his soul. That is difficult to do. He has to walk

:55:35. > :55:39.into that Weighing Room, they are his peers, people he looks up to

:55:39. > :55:46.and look around, and for him to do that shows how strong he has become.

:55:46. > :55:49.It would be fitting were he to ride a winner after watching that.

:55:49. > :55:54.will not necessarily be the shortest priced of those he rides

:55:54. > :55:59.this week. As we know from the winners we've had today, upsets can

:55:59. > :56:03.happen. There are not many better men to have on your side than

:56:03. > :56:13.Richard Hughes, just a beautiful horseman. We will see where Sirvino

:56:13. > :56:37.

:56:38. > :56:42.horses in the paddock. Gatewood has been the horse that a lot of people

:56:42. > :56:47.expect to win this. Walking around the paddock, how impressed or not

:56:47. > :56:52.impressed were you by what you saw? He hasn't got the best of hopes

:56:52. > :56:58.around him. -- the best of hops around him. Explain what you mean?

:56:58. > :57:04.His hocks are left behind him. Behind his hind legs. He has more

:57:04. > :57:10.of a curve on them than normal. He's quarters were not -- his

:57:10. > :57:15.quarters were not big, robust ones. As soon as the rider was on top of

:57:15. > :57:21.him his shape changed. He was going around there, sort of half asleep

:57:21. > :57:27.and not using himself, but as soon as William Buick landed in the

:57:27. > :57:31.saddle his whole shape changed and he came alive. He did. One other

:57:31. > :57:36.horse, number five, Mijhaar, a horse who ran here last year. He

:57:36. > :57:40.ran well in the king Edward. This trip is probably more in his favour

:57:40. > :57:47.today? He's obviously a horse who will run a big race here today.

:57:47. > :57:53.He's got a lot of stamina. You would have to think that a mile and

:57:53. > :57:56.a quarter would be as short a distance as he might like. He might

:57:56. > :58:06.get further in the future. The king Edward last year, he did not see it

:58:06. > :58:10.out. I thought a drop back to 10 might suit him.

:58:10. > :58:18.His pedigree suggests he would get a mile and a quarter and even

:58:18. > :58:23.further than this today. Who is going to win this? Well, I presume,

:58:23. > :58:28.as William Buick, can you ride three winners in a day? Well, he's

:58:28. > :58:34.the favourite. He has a very big chance. It is a very tough race and

:58:34. > :58:44.of course Mijhaar, obviously will be there abouts. Thank you.

:58:44. > :58:54.

:58:54. > :58:59.Already at the start - this is number nine, this is Qaraaba.

:58:59. > :59:03.A good trainer? He dislocated his hip. It is one of the most graphic

:59:03. > :59:09.things I have ever seen. He has turned his hand to training. This

:59:09. > :59:15.horse has done well for him. has won three from four. The only

:59:15. > :59:25.defeat she had was from Danadana. She has got a little warm and

:59:25. > :59:32.

:59:32. > :59:39.hopefully is down there early being spoken about. This horse was

:59:39. > :59:49.fourth in the king Edward seventh last year to Nathaniel. Nathaniel

:59:49. > :59:52.

:59:52. > :00:00.not getting placed. Bit keen on the way down to the start though?

:00:00. > :00:07.seems to be getting a run on hill. Neil needs to be keen to keep him

:00:07. > :00:13.slower. No point in using the energy. There you go, the head

:00:13. > :00:17.comes down. French Navy is in front of him, trained by Godolphin. They

:00:17. > :00:22.also have Retrieve trained by Saeed bin Suroor, the winning trainer

:00:22. > :00:26.from yesterday's Gold Cup. He's now with Rishi. Retrieve and Con Artist.

:00:26. > :00:29.Before we get into the runners in this case, how is vision vision

:00:30. > :00:35.vision today? He's doing good. He came back sound after the race,

:00:35. > :00:38.fresh and happy, he was happy no problem at all with him. We'll give

:00:39. > :00:44.him a little break now and will keep the options open. How good was

:00:44. > :00:53.it for you to get back into the winners enclosure here in the big

:00:53. > :00:57.one? It was something special for us. Everybody in the office was so

:00:57. > :01:01.happy yesterday. All the team were smiling. That's what you need in a

:01:01. > :01:07.stable yard. How good was Frankie? Very happy. You need Frankie to win

:01:07. > :01:11.a big race like the Gold Cup. aboard the top weight here,

:01:11. > :01:21.Retrieve. What chance has he got? Rain well at Lingfield last time

:01:21. > :01:25.

:01:25. > :01:35.and is sound and ready to go. Hope the surface is good. What about Con

:01:35. > :01:37.

:01:37. > :01:41.Artist? He's doing well also, he needed a rest last time and he's

:01:41. > :01:48.likes to be somewhere close. Hopefully another winner waiting

:01:48. > :01:58.for you. Thank you and good luck. That is the second of Saeed's two

:01:58. > :02:03.

:02:03. > :02:07.runners. French Navy. This horse won three. He won the select Stakes,

:02:07. > :02:17.a decent race. Needs to recover that form and he'll be right in

:02:17. > :02:22.there? Yes, this horse is very interesting! Horse 10 Kirthill.

:02:22. > :02:27.Kieren Fallon rode this last time. A masses massive improve. Keiron

:02:27. > :02:33.wasn't hard on him. As soon as the chance was gone, that was enough. I

:02:33. > :02:38.think it's very interesting jockey. Ryan Moore would have a choice of

:02:38. > :02:44.rides. Kieren Fallon presumably did have the choice and choice to ride

:02:44. > :02:47.Danadana instead. I thought Kieren Fallon might try to switch for this

:02:47. > :02:55.horse but Ryan Moore was fairly keen on maintaining I think.

:02:55. > :03:02.Exactly, saying I'll stay on that, thank you very much. There's

:03:02. > :03:07.Sirvino. Hughesy is there. doesn't send horses down south, the

:03:07. > :03:15.trainer, for nothing. Just getting very warm. It's not that hot here

:03:15. > :03:25.today though. He was third to Gatewood at Epsom. Closely tied

:03:25. > :03:38.

:03:38. > :03:42.form with Gatewood who remains also got Beachfire. He had a one

:03:42. > :03:46.two in the last race. Beachfire came off a good gallop to win this

:03:46. > :03:50.race last year and we see very often that horses win here, they

:03:50. > :03:55.win one year and come back and do it the next. Seven pounds higher. A

:03:55. > :04:00.lot of people who've watched him will question his resolution at the

:04:00. > :04:06.minute and William Buick's done well with his choices this week.

:04:06. > :04:12.Rare to see a horse with blinkers and a nose band. He's looking all

:04:12. > :04:16.around. Nose band is to make them look above. And here is the other

:04:17. > :04:25.horse! This overcame everything last time to win. Really stuck

:04:25. > :04:30.behind a wall of horses last time. Pulled out and went up on the line.

:04:30. > :04:36.I think this horse with a stiffer track like this will really suit

:04:36. > :04:42.him. He's just getting warm between his legs, under the saddle and on

:04:42. > :04:47.his neck. Gatewood the favourite here. Gatewood second and Qaraaba

:04:47. > :04:53.near the top as well. Anything else to mention? Jamie Spencer is taking

:04:53. > :05:02.over on Ottoman Empire. This horse was very nay Rowley beaten by

:05:02. > :05:07.Gatewood. Enjoys a bull in the weights. Looks relaxed. -- very

:05:07. > :05:17.narrowly. Here is Jim McGrath for the wolf

:05:17. > :05:19.

:05:19. > :05:23.Ayrton handicap. Johnny Murtagh on Hyper. -- Wolferton. He won on

:05:23. > :05:27.Leopardstown last night. Desperately unpleasant weather

:05:27. > :05:31.conditions and rode out again this morning. A couple of Irish Derby

:05:31. > :05:35.hopes. So he's back here, has ridden a

:05:35. > :05:41.winner already. Hard pressed to get this to win though.

:05:41. > :05:51.Ready and they're racing. In the Wolferton. Away to a fair start on

:05:51. > :05:58.

:05:58. > :06:04.the outside, one of the first away is. Retrieve in the centre. Ottoman

:06:04. > :06:09.Empire. Kirthill trapped on the inside. Sirvino. A length further

:06:09. > :06:17.back, Gatewood settled centre field. A nice position too followed on the

:06:17. > :06:22.inside by Beachfire. Beachfire last year's winner. Qaraaba there.

:06:22. > :06:27.French Navy. Hyper is last. Black Spirit fourth last. Coming out of

:06:27. > :06:36.Swindley Bottom, the leader is Con Artist, goes on by two lengths.

:06:36. > :06:43.Ottoman Empire in second. A length and a half further back. Opera Gal.

:06:43. > :06:48.Deeper on the track is Gatewood, very handy. Followed by Kirthill.

:06:48. > :06:52.Sirvino in the centre. Black Spirit further back. Beachfire. Qaraaba's

:06:52. > :07:00.lost his place and been shuffled back. As they race up past the half

:07:00. > :07:07.mile, the leader on the inside is Con Artist, by a length to Opera

:07:07. > :07:13.Gal. Ottoman Empire. Mijhaar. French Navy. Retrieve in the centre.

:07:13. > :07:18.Kirthill. Followed by Gatewood. Starting to run on fairly well.

:07:18. > :07:22.It's Con Artist who leaves them for home. On the outside, Opera Gal.

:07:22. > :07:26.Mijhaar strongly coming up. Followed by French Navy in behind

:07:26. > :07:31.them, Retrieve. Gatewood is in the clear and making ground. Mijhaar

:07:31. > :07:36.gets the lead with a furlong and a bit to two. Gatewood on the outside

:07:37. > :07:42.for Frankie. Now Gatewood starting to swoop. Black Spirit down the

:07:42. > :07:48.outside and Qaraaba as they race up with 100 yards to go. Qaraaba is in

:07:48. > :07:53.the lead. Tight second, Black Spirit out wide with Mijhaar. Just

:07:53. > :08:01.behind them was Retrieve with Qaraaba and they were followed by

:08:01. > :08:05.Kirthill, further back then Sirvino. Con Artist towards the rear, so too

:08:05. > :08:13.was French Navy. In company with Ottoman Empire. Last year's winner,

:08:13. > :08:19.Beachfire was one of the last. So it's a treble for William Buick,

:08:19. > :08:25.landing the money here on Gatewood. What a finish it was! He sticks his

:08:25. > :08:32.neck out and gets the money. Three on the board for John Gosden and

:08:32. > :08:35.William Buick. A tight second. Black Spirit near side. It's been

:08:35. > :08:40.called. Officially Black Spirit, third Mijhaar, then Qaraaba

:08:40. > :08:46.launched with a run down the outside fourth. Then in fifth is

:08:46. > :08:50.Retrieve. Top of the screen Number 10, that's Kirthill. Then a gap to

:08:50. > :08:55.Sirvino behind them. They were followed by Galloway gal

:08:55. > :09:02.and Hyper, the American runner, who did particularly well under

:09:02. > :09:07.conditions you wouldn't have expected to suit him -- Opera Gal

:09:07. > :09:14.and Hyper. Further back, they're still coming,

:09:14. > :09:20.two more to come. There they are, Beachfire last year's winner and

:09:20. > :09:26.Ottoman Empire is last. So, William Buick and John Gosden, very much

:09:26. > :09:36.their day and Gatewood in the colours of George Strawbridge has

:09:36. > :09:42.

:09:42. > :09:46.won the Wolfen -- Wolferton. Let's check the prices of the one,

:09:46. > :09:52.tworbgs three. No, they are coming through now. We'll give you them as

:09:52. > :10:02.soon as we get them. Good performance and the distances were

:10:02. > :10:23.

:10:23. > :10:30.a neck and a head. And there are John Gosden and William Buick but

:10:30. > :10:34.the man who'll celebrate most with this, is the owner, because those

:10:34. > :10:39.colours travelled with great success from previous champion

:10:39. > :10:44.sprinters. Never been has George Strawbridge

:10:44. > :10:48.had a Royal Ascot winner. Now he has with the well backed, well

:10:48. > :10:54.fancied Gatewood. William Buick getting shelter then switching out

:10:54. > :11:02.wide down the outside of all of the runners and Gatewood catching

:11:02. > :11:08.Mijhaar who's in front now and ran well. Black Spirit finishes very

:11:08. > :11:12.well. Gatewood was always going to wear down Mijhaar. Gets there with

:11:12. > :11:16.three strides to spare. When your confidence is sky high as a jockey,

:11:16. > :11:20.everything falls into place for you. William will feel that no matter

:11:20. > :11:23.what he does today, it's the right thing. He's given this horse an

:11:23. > :11:28.absolute peach. Everyone wants to ride that perfect race. You get

:11:28. > :11:32.there in the shadow and mug someone and that's exactly what he's done

:11:32. > :11:37.here. So pleased for George Strawbridge because he comes up to

:11:37. > :11:40.Ascot pretty much every year and he's been a huge investor in racing

:11:40. > :11:50.in terms of breeding horses and keeping them on in training and

:11:50. > :11:57.

:11:57. > :12:04.he's a very sporting man. And a real thrill for him. He He'll be

:12:04. > :12:08.pinching himself now. Yes, he will, three Ascot winners in one day for

:12:08. > :12:12.William Buick. A great moment for George Strawbridge who led this

:12:12. > :12:17.winner in, Gatewood, and William Buick now on four winners, Ryan

:12:17. > :12:23.Moore with two and a host of other jockeys with one winner a piece

:12:23. > :12:32.headed by Queally and O'Brien. Good position to be in. And a great

:12:32. > :12:39.way to bring up the half century. George Strawbridge, his colours

:12:39. > :12:46.carried to victory here in this country. But also in America, he's

:12:46. > :12:52.been an owner of long-standing and great success. There are the

:12:52. > :13:02.trainer standings after 22 races. John Gosden in front. Sir Henry

:13:02. > :13:17.

:13:17. > :13:27.Cecil, Aidan O'Brien. They're both check the full details of this

:13:27. > :13:32.

:13:32. > :13:36.Wolfrton handicap. John Gosden's certainly hot. What a week it's

:13:36. > :13:40.been so far, John? Yes, up and down. It's been great. Good rides today

:13:40. > :13:44.and lucky to have two lovely fillies like we did spot on form.

:13:44. > :13:46.This horse was always fancyed to come in the first three here.

:13:47. > :13:50.Luckily they went pretty strong again and he could come down the

:13:50. > :13:53.outside and do it. I think the trainer's been running him over the

:13:53. > :13:59.wrong trip, I think he should go a mile and a half, I think I got him

:13:59. > :14:04.a bit short. He's in the Princess of Wales Stakes at Newmarket, is

:14:04. > :14:08.that right? Yes, you saver the moment at Royal Ascot, the future

:14:08. > :14:12.is the future, fantastic -- savour the moment. He's the last of the

:14:12. > :14:16.great American owners that have horses here so it's great. William

:14:16. > :14:22.watched him in the paddock and said he was half asleep. As soon as

:14:22. > :14:26.William got on board he came alive. Yes, he sits up and goes, hello,

:14:26. > :14:30.trouble on my back. That's his style of running, he likes to come

:14:30. > :14:34.with one big run and William had him in the perfect position off the

:14:34. > :14:39.bend when he wanted to go. Thank you very much. Now a word with

:14:39. > :14:43.William. What a day?! Days that jockeys dream of. Royal Ascot

:14:43. > :14:46.itself, just to have a horse that runs well is very good and having a

:14:46. > :14:51.winner is fantastic, but to have three winners in one day, it's

:14:51. > :14:55.really amazing. I knew I had good rides coming into the week, but a

:14:55. > :14:59.lot of other people have good chances as well and it's tough,

:15:00. > :15:03.it's the creme-de-la-creme and you need to take a chance, but very

:15:03. > :15:07.fortunately so that are everything's gone my way and the

:15:07. > :15:11.horses are in top shape. I'm just very, very happy and very grateful.

:15:11. > :15:16.Take us through the way the race ran, the strong gallop suited your

:15:16. > :15:20.horse John said, he stayed on strongly suggesting further will be

:15:20. > :15:25.comfortable for him? I wanted him closer to the pace. He'll get a

:15:25. > :15:29.mile and a half in time. They were going so quick and I just wanted to

:15:29. > :15:34.keep him on an even keel. He's finished the race really well. He

:15:34. > :15:38.is better than the winning margin when he steps up, you know. He's a

:15:39. > :15:43.nice, progressive horse and is certainly going places. Tuesday was

:15:43. > :15:49.a difficult day for you, it's amazing how this game turns around?

:15:49. > :15:53.It's amazing. It's a sad loss, he was a very nice horse, but you've

:15:53. > :15:58.got to move on, new day, get up and move on and I'm very pleased for

:15:58. > :16:08.George as well to have a Royal Ascot winner and hopefully it will

:16:08. > :16:10.

:16:10. > :16:16.It's the best. First win I've ever had in Royal Ascot. Thank you very

:16:16. > :16:23.much. Let's look at the start of this

:16:23. > :16:29.mile and a quarter handicap. You will know this is a tricky one this

:16:29. > :16:35.mile and a quarter. The turn comes up soon afterwards. The winner is

:16:35. > :16:44.here, stall number eight. The second and fourth horses

:16:44. > :16:52.difficult draws. George Bakers takes the position.

:16:52. > :16:56.Zooms to the rail. He takes a pull of his horse. George Baker goes

:16:56. > :17:01.behind the field and gets a good position on his horse. You see the

:17:01. > :17:07.third horse comes in gradually, with Adam Kirby on there. That is

:17:07. > :17:12.our winner there. He's in daylight. Looks at the horse on his outside

:17:12. > :17:18.here. Here is. Green and white is Jamie Spencer. William Buick is

:17:18. > :17:22.trying to get his horse in behind others. He wants to get a nice

:17:22. > :17:28.little tuck behind another horse. Whoops - just there, a little bit

:17:28. > :17:35.quick. Now he gets in behind Spencer there and he gets the horse

:17:35. > :17:41.to drop his head and relax. But you can see the third horse with Neil

:17:41. > :17:45.Callan here, his horse... He pulled too hard. Going at it too hard. His

:17:45. > :17:51.head is high in the air. He will not drop his head and relax. He's

:17:51. > :17:57.gone like that for some time. So his chances, he's using up that

:17:57. > :18:03.energy, where William Buick, look his hands are down on its neck.

:18:03. > :18:11.This is what happens when you win - - ride winners. The confidence goes

:18:11. > :18:16.through and -- you and into the horse. Let's see the closing stages.

:18:16. > :18:21.The horses with the bad draw, they have gone to the back of the ground.

:18:21. > :18:27.If you go around the whole side of the ground you will be beat. They

:18:27. > :18:32.have to get the best position they can. The one problem we have,

:18:32. > :18:35.having saved the ground, you have to get around. Get into the

:18:35. > :18:39.straight. Two-and-a-half furlongs to go. Fan out. Give your horse

:18:39. > :18:44.daylight and go for it. You can see the winner there with Adam Kirby on

:18:44. > :18:49.the second, tracking him. He had a good tow from him all the way

:18:49. > :18:54.through. And almost Neil Callan, he was always in the right place, as

:18:54. > :18:59.you would say. His horse was always doing that, a little bit too much.

:18:59. > :19:05.He hasn't got a lot of energy left. Of course his horse has done well,

:19:05. > :19:13.run a great race. He has just got outstayed here by William Buick and

:19:13. > :19:20.add damn Kirby, who is finishing better -- and Adam Kirby, who is

:19:20. > :19:28.finishing better than anybody. Mijhaar, pulled too hard. Good run

:19:28. > :19:31.from him. A only one run this season.

:19:31. > :19:37.Impossible draw, basically, but ran a good race. All of those for next

:19:37. > :19:44.time. A solid race. Good form. Top handicappers in it. The winder

:19:44. > :19:49.could be better with that handicap. George Strawbridge. His first Royal

:19:49. > :19:55.Ascot winner. Receiving the trophy there from

:19:55. > :20:00.Barry Hills, who retired last August, after having trained 3,198

:20:00. > :20:05.winners. Really emotionally was leading trainer here at the Royal

:20:05. > :20:15.Meeting in 209, having been seriously ill. He won the

:20:15. > :20:21.

:20:21. > :20:25.coronation. Gosh, he's had good Gatewood. And Mick Fitzgerald and I

:20:25. > :20:29.watching it with interest, it is interesting that William Buick,

:20:29. > :20:33.riding a treble today. You said when you are really hot as a jockey,

:20:33. > :20:39.is it easy to go back into that changing room? It's not. You don't

:20:39. > :20:44.know what to say, what to do. When you ride your first winner you

:20:44. > :20:48.celebrate, you want to show your emotion. On the third day, you see

:20:48. > :20:51.all the lads who have not riden winners and you are almost

:20:51. > :20:56.embarrassed. You know how it feels not to have a winner. You don't

:20:56. > :21:02.want to show them up a little bit. He'll be celebrating later. Trust

:21:02. > :21:04.me - Royal Ascot - there is no bigger stage for a flat jockey than

:21:05. > :21:08.here. William Buick continuing to impress on the global stage and

:21:09. > :21:18.particularly here at Royal Ascot this week. Let's look at the

:21:19. > :21:23.

:21:23. > :21:28.fashions with Suzi. I am joined by Rachel Morgan. It is a windy day

:21:29. > :21:33.for hats? You hats for people, including the Queen, who wore your

:21:33. > :21:36.hats on Tuesday and Thursday. does that work from your point of

:21:36. > :21:41.view? Well, sometimes I know what the occasion is for and sometimes I

:21:41. > :21:47.don't. This year, we didn't know, I have made eight hats earlier in the

:21:47. > :21:51.year and we wait to see what comes out. We don't know until she comes

:21:51. > :22:00.out in the carriage what she will be wearing. When it comes to Royal

:22:00. > :22:06.Ascot do you get a sketch of the outfit? Yes. It is I will be sent a

:22:06. > :22:10.sketch and a swatch and work on a hat from there. We have seen some

:22:10. > :22:15.beautiful hats. Some beautiful vintage dresses. This kind of feel.

:22:15. > :22:19.It has been very popular. You are seeing lower crowns and sliced hats.

:22:19. > :22:24.That is a beautiful colour, isn't it? Some sunshine coming through in

:22:24. > :22:29.the day. She looks very glamorous. Very Hollywood. Do you think we are

:22:29. > :22:33.seeing bigger hats this year? Everybody is very conscious of that.

:22:33. > :22:38.I have noticed people coming in and wanting bigger hats. That is nice.

:22:38. > :22:40.They do different things for people. It is great. We don't have enough

:22:40. > :22:46.hat-wearing opportunities. It is a great excuse for everybody to come

:22:46. > :22:52.out in their best. It is. You can wear a cocktail dress to the bar -

:22:52. > :22:58.she looks very sweet. She does. super looking dress. We are getting

:22:58. > :23:02.a lot of sliced hats. Crowns are more shallow. A sleek look. When

:23:02. > :23:08.you say more shallow crowns that enables the face to be seen more?

:23:08. > :23:15.It does actually. That is very vintage-inspired,

:23:15. > :23:21.isn't it, on the left? That hot pink: It has never gone away. It

:23:21. > :23:29.works well here especially on a dull day. We all need cheering up.

:23:29. > :23:34.Black and white and an interesting shape hat.

:23:34. > :23:39.And very sweet little pill boxes is that flowers on there? It is a

:23:39. > :23:43.lovely look. Nice with just the tiny bits of netting through the --

:23:44. > :23:47.over the eyes. It is pretty. Do you know if the Queen will wear one of

:23:47. > :23:53.your hats tomorrow? I don't. I am in the dark as much as everybody

:23:53. > :23:57.else. We will have to wait and see and keep our fingers crossed.

:23:57. > :24:02.Speaking of the Queen, Her Majesty has made her way into the paddock,

:24:02. > :24:07.because she has a runner in the Queen's Vase. A filly called

:24:07. > :24:13.Estimate and Ryan Moore will be on board. This was trained by Sir

:24:13. > :24:17.Michael Stoute. We discussed hats and it's not just women who have

:24:17. > :24:24.fun with their head wear - it is men as well. Although you would not

:24:24. > :24:31.get into the Royal Enclosure wearing that. Wouldn't I get in?

:24:31. > :24:38.Not even riding my horse? Not even riding your horse. It was given to

:24:38. > :24:42.me by Fish For Hats. I wonder what to do with it - I thought we could

:24:42. > :24:48.auction it off or do something with it for my charity. If everybody you

:24:48. > :24:54.are invited to a fancy dress party you can wear it then, with pride, I

:24:54. > :24:58.suspect. I would imagine that some lady would love to come to Royal

:24:58. > :25:03.Ascot with this... Umbrella. The umbrella is fun. I have to say. The

:25:03. > :25:08.hat, perhaps not. It is for sale. You are not afraid to make a fool

:25:08. > :25:14.of yourself. That is a good thing on television. There you go.

:25:14. > :25:22.Tomorrow we expect to raise our hats to Black Caviar. She is the

:25:22. > :25:28.Australian filly everybody is talking about. In my lifetime,

:25:28. > :25:33.she's the best horse I have ever seen. If you took Frankel to

:25:33. > :25:39.Australia you would say the same thing. She's a champion there. They

:25:39. > :25:42.have to have the champion to win. Black Caviar - perfect. I have

:25:43. > :25:48.heard of her for a long time. It is great she's here. Hopefully she

:25:48. > :25:56.runs a good race for them and goes home safely. I hope she can do

:25:56. > :26:00.justice. Let's all see her. She's a great racehorse. Like Frankel, Sea

:26:00. > :26:08.The Stars, you see these horses and want to see them perform. I hope

:26:08. > :26:15.she can perform to her best after a long journey. We don't have

:26:15. > :26:21.sprinters that can compare with them. I can't see her getting beat.

:26:21. > :26:26.She's the banker. Black Caviar - the best in the world. This is

:26:26. > :26:31.unprecedented - the wonder mare. She won't get her own way here.

:26:31. > :26:37.There'll be a lot of lads trying to catch her up. She looks the real

:26:37. > :26:41.deal. What a champion she is. She's a

:26:41. > :26:46.wonderful mare. They will parade her to Europe. I will try and win,

:26:47. > :26:50.but if I can't, I hope she does. The chief executive of the British

:26:50. > :26:56.Horseracing Boarbroodd authority is a man who used to work for racing

:26:56. > :27:02.Victoria, so he is an Australian who has come over here. How big a

:27:02. > :27:08.deal is it Black Caviar coming here to Ascot? It presettlements a

:27:08. > :27:11.fantastic opportunity. -- presents a fantastic opportunity. It's a

:27:11. > :27:15.really brave decision and I think she'll show tomorrow that she is

:27:16. > :27:20.the best in the world. They will all be watching on big screens in

:27:20. > :27:24.Melbourne? They have set up Federation Square at 1.30am,

:27:24. > :27:27.there'll be tens of thousands of people out in the cold in Melbourne,

:27:28. > :27:33.watching on the big screens. She's really, I think over the last

:27:33. > :27:38.season or two, she has transformed or taken it beyond racing to

:27:38. > :27:41.profile the sport. I know one of the tasks you have is trying to get

:27:41. > :27:47.racing on to the front-pages and Black Caviar has been doing that.

:27:47. > :27:52.She has been on the front-pages of the papers already. These are this

:27:52. > :27:56.morning's papers - all featuring Black Caviar in strong headlines.

:27:56. > :28:00.That security scare story, I don't think there is a lot to that. It

:28:00. > :28:04.goes to prove the point that anything that happens with her, any

:28:04. > :28:09.steps she takes, the photographers are all over it. That is what you

:28:09. > :28:13.want to find. Actually it is heartening it is a horse, not a

:28:13. > :28:18.celebrity. Not to do with pop bands. It is a horse. When people launch

:28:18. > :28:23.on to a horse it makes a difference. Black Caviar has the advantage over

:28:23. > :28:27.Frankel in that she has been around four seasons now. In a similar way

:28:27. > :28:32.the public get behind the jump horses that come back season after

:28:32. > :28:38.season, with Black Caviar she is in her fourth racing season. She's had

:28:38. > :28:45.21 consecutive victories. At 10-11 victories she has not gone beyond

:28:45. > :28:50.racing I is the last half a dozen where she has gone to a broader

:28:50. > :28:55.public profile. I am trying to make them stay in training next year. It

:28:55. > :29:03.would be amazing if Frankel was around as a five-year-old. It would

:29:03. > :29:07.be amazing to see. The critical issue is the economic

:29:07. > :29:11.situation. On any measure British racing is healthy. Media coverage

:29:11. > :29:16.of the sport is world-class T quality and variety of the racing

:29:16. > :29:23.is the best in the world. So, the single criticalish shy is the

:29:24. > :29:29.funding. That's the -- -- critical issue is the funding. That is what

:29:29. > :29:34.we work on every day. After the week of racing you could find and

:29:34. > :29:40.the Queen in the paddock to see her runner, Estimate n this Queen's

:29:40. > :29:43.vase. We've had so many good story lines to. And hopefully one

:29:43. > :29:48.tomorrow with Black Caviar. It what it needs is for those colours to

:29:48. > :29:58.come home in front. It is not impossible that it could happen in

:29:58. > :30:07.

:30:07. > :30:15.She's an interesting filly. She actually is a half sister to an

:30:15. > :30:19.Ascot Gold Cup winner. A really good family. She's had two starts

:30:19. > :30:24.so far and won her last. We'll see Hoy she gets on. We'll check the

:30:24. > :30:34.runners and riders now for the Queen's Vase. Over two miles and

:30:34. > :31:08.

:31:08. > :31:18.Estimate is the only filly in the the Queen's Vase? The punters seem

:31:18. > :31:27.

:31:27. > :31:29.Queen's horse. I think that's the influence of

:31:29. > :31:35.Willie Carson who basically said right at the beginning of the

:31:35. > :31:40.programme that Estimate has a huge chance here and she has been backed

:31:40. > :31:45.properly, properly backed? She's a lovely looking filly. Look how tall

:31:45. > :31:52.and slender she, is just what you want to stayer to look like. Long

:31:52. > :31:55.and slender, not carrying too much weight. And everything about her

:31:55. > :32:00.moves with fluency. And Michael Stoute, who's had a quiet week so

:32:00. > :32:04.far, apart from the good run of Carlton House, has a very good

:32:04. > :32:10.record in this race, won it three times since 1988, so knows the sort

:32:10. > :32:17.of horse required. She's a filly here and she's taking

:32:17. > :32:23.on the colts. The most amazing thing is, the two attendants are

:32:23. > :32:28.both girls. Amazing and progress! Let's have a

:32:28. > :32:31.look at Athens. Aid on Brian's had a grim day so far with both

:32:31. > :32:36.Astrology and Homecoming Queen, well beaten. They were well fancied,

:32:36. > :32:40.but this is a race that he targets with horses that he believes could

:32:41. > :32:47.stay further. They are always beautifully bred. He won with one

:32:47. > :32:52.horse in 2007 and another in 2010. And this horse, Athens, hasn't gone

:32:52. > :32:58.beyond a mile and a quarter, but neither had the winner two years

:32:58. > :33:08.ago. His pedigree suggests he'd struggle to get two miles. He's a

:33:08. > :33:14.

:33:14. > :33:19.stamina. Maybe he's getting all the stamina from Dylan Thomas. This is

:33:19. > :33:25.Yazdi. Frankie's won this race twice in the past ten years. Let's

:33:25. > :33:28.here from Brian Meehan, the trainer, he's with Rishi now.

:33:28. > :33:30.I am with Brian Meehan, just pointing out that we are looking

:33:30. > :33:35.forward to Wimbledon which is obviously on the BBC coming up

:33:35. > :33:38.starting on Monday. You are a massive tennis fan? Yes, I love it.

:33:38. > :33:43.I wouldn't mind having a fortnight there like you do. You are more

:33:43. > :33:49.than welcome to take over. You would probably do a better job.

:33:49. > :33:54.at all! You have had a good week so far. Yazdi, very likely racehorse,

:33:54. > :33:59.big step up today. Do you feel that he's ready for it? Well, he's an

:33:59. > :34:03.improver, I did just say to Frankie that he could be a little green

:34:03. > :34:09.still, but no, I think he'll be fine, he's up for it. He'll command

:34:10. > :34:13.for the maiden win which he won by seven lengths. He was pretty

:34:13. > :34:17.impressive and it's the right thing for him today. Overall, what do you

:34:17. > :34:23.feel about the quality of this year's renewal of the Queen's Vase?

:34:23. > :34:26.Steady enough really. Two or three chances of which my horse is one,

:34:26. > :34:31.so I wouldn't want to comment on everybody else's horses. I mean,

:34:31. > :34:38.these races are so tough to win. Every race is like a champion race

:34:38. > :34:48.here, so it will be tough. Best of luck. Thank you.

:34:48. > :34:50.

:34:50. > :35:00.So your favourite remains Estimate: 50,000 was put on Yazdi this

:35:00. > :35:05.

:35:05. > :35:08.of the day, the hat trick man, William Buick. William, I was

:35:08. > :35:12.saying that coming into this year's Royal Ascot, you had ridden three

:35:12. > :35:15.winners in your career, now you get three in a day, it's extraordinary?

:35:15. > :35:20.Fantastic. I knew coming into this year's Royal Ascot that I had good

:35:20. > :35:24.rides, but you need to go and win them. It's a lot of luck that's

:35:24. > :35:29.involved. You need to be in the right place at the right time and

:35:29. > :35:35.the horse needs to be fine on the day. It's one of those days where

:35:35. > :35:40.everything's clicked. You also need skill?! No, you know, Newfangled

:35:40. > :35:44.was very good. Very good filly and, to be honest, it didn't go her way.

:35:44. > :35:49.We can have alike at that actually. We'll show you your treble so you

:35:49. > :35:53.can enjoy it. Out in front on Newfangled. The bit seemed to go

:35:53. > :35:56.through her mouth? She got away from me a little bit, did it the

:35:56. > :36:01.hard way, but very good filly and Fallen For You, very pleased with

:36:01. > :36:06.her. Would she be the best you have ever rode? No, very good but not

:36:06. > :36:11.the best. A filly, two-year-old? Two-year-old filly, yes, you are

:36:11. > :36:17.confusing me, Willie. He does that to me! She's the best two-year-old

:36:17. > :36:22.filly I've ridden, Newfangled is, yes. And you got there five strides

:36:23. > :36:28.before the line, a well-backed favourite and when you get a crowd,

:36:28. > :36:31.I'm sure they are shouting things to you as you are coming back?

:36:31. > :36:34.the creme-de-la-creme and everyone wants to ride winners here and I'm

:36:34. > :36:37.very fortunate to have a good stable behind me with good horses

:36:37. > :36:42.and I can go to these meetings in demand when you get good rides and

:36:42. > :36:46.you need to be focused and make sure you keep doing the right

:36:46. > :36:50.things. When you talk about luck and Willie reminding you, you do

:36:50. > :36:54.need to work hard and have talent and I think he's trying to give you

:36:54. > :36:59.credit there, but the luck of the week is that you weren't badly

:36:59. > :37:02.injured when the horse came down on Tuesday? I feel very sorry for the

:37:02. > :37:07.horse and the lad that looks after it at home and all that, it's

:37:07. > :37:13.horrible and he was a very promising horse. He was a lovely

:37:13. > :37:18.horse and it's just one of these unfortunate, unexplinable things,

:37:18. > :37:22.you know. -- unexplainable things. Luckily, I wasn't injured. A bit

:37:22. > :37:26.sore the day after but I was fine and you move on from those things,

:37:26. > :37:32.you know, you can't do nothing about it so you have to put it to

:37:32. > :37:38.the back 06 your mind and move on - - back of your mind and move on.

:37:38. > :37:45.How much would it mean to you to keep that arm band on?

:37:45. > :37:48.This time tomorrow do you want it on? Looks good on me, doesn't it

:37:48. > :37:52.It's suited?! It would mean the world to me, as it would to anybody

:37:52. > :38:00.else. You've had a brilliant week and fully deserved. Well done.

:38:00. > :38:04.Thank you Clare and Willie. Here is a horse, Minimise Risk,

:38:04. > :38:09.trained by Andrew Balding who ran in the Derby last time and that

:38:09. > :38:15.probably a bit out of his capabilities. A hugely Hansome

:38:15. > :38:21.horse and very well bred. He's got to do it, hasn't he? He's got to do

:38:21. > :38:24.it. He's one of those horses, he's very proud of himself. He knows

:38:24. > :38:29.he's handsome, doesn't he? Look at him, putting his head in the air

:38:29. > :38:36.and he's saying to everybody, look at me, aren't I handsome. But when

:38:36. > :38:38.it comes to racing, he thinks that he has the authority to get round

:38:38. > :38:43.the racecourse without putting too much effort in. That's the

:38:43. > :38:49.impression I get from this horse. Just a final word on William Buick,

:38:49. > :38:53.he was due to ride on this race in Spanish Wedding but that's a non-

:38:53. > :39:02.runner. And his intended horse in the next race is out again. His job

:39:02. > :39:05.for the day is over and he can go home and eny. Macbeth. Trained by

:39:05. > :39:09.Ken Condon and Johnny Murtagh taking the ride. This is a horse

:39:09. > :39:15.who would be suited by the ground and has plenty of stamina in terms

:39:15. > :39:21.of breeding. Hasn't got a lot of stamina on the stallion side.

:39:21. > :39:28.Beaten by a six furlong sprinter. He has Curragh and St Leger entries

:39:28. > :39:38.though. The Queen is taking her position in the Royal Box with

:39:38. > :39:41.Sheikh Mohammed and the Princess of Jordan. Interestingly, Sheikh

:39:41. > :39:46.Mohammed gave the Queen Carlton House as a yearling. This horse

:39:46. > :39:50.Estimate was given to her by the Aga Khan who bred her. Going

:39:50. > :39:55.forward there, that's Yazdi, we heard from Brian Meehan about his

:39:55. > :39:58.chances. Frankie Dettori on board. What do you like in the race, well,

:39:58. > :40:02.you liked Estimate, you told everybody about it this morning?

:40:02. > :40:07.This filly has to improve quite a lot to win this race. You are

:40:07. > :40:11.getting cold feet now? No, no, no, it's not that, but on figures on

:40:11. > :40:19.what she's done in the past that is, but she looks a beautiful staying-

:40:19. > :40:24.type filly. Doesn't look the strongest race? No. It would be

:40:24. > :40:29.nice for Perennial to win. Yes, Michael Hills riding for his

:40:29. > :40:33.brother Charlie. Not too much longer. Could we see a winner for

:40:33. > :40:39.the Queen? It's not impossible, as Athens goes forward and Minimise

:40:39. > :40:49.Risk, one of the last. That's the one to beat, Athens. Let's join Jim.

:40:49. > :40:51.

:40:51. > :41:01.So last one going in, Michael Hills there. They are off and running in

:41:01. > :41:02.

:41:02. > :41:09.the Queen's Vase. Perennial eased in in the early stages and Yazdi's

:41:09. > :41:12.a little wide. Perennial on the inside rail there from Flying

:41:12. > :41:18.Trader. Estimate on the inside three deep off the rail. Further

:41:18. > :41:23.back in the field is Flying Trader. Now just ahead of Athens and then

:41:23. > :41:33.Somemothersdohavem. Out the back is Ed De Gas. A circuit to go now. And

:41:33. > :41:44.

:41:44. > :41:49.the leader on the inside is Singalat. Pink cap, Perennial.

:41:49. > :41:51.Athens. Followed by Flying Trader out the back.

:41:51. > :41:54.Followed by Ed De Gas and Somemothersdohavem.

:41:54. > :41:58.Somemothersdohavem shuffled back to last. A mile and a half lest left

:41:58. > :42:06.to travel in the Queen's Vase as they race down past the King George

:42:07. > :42:12.start and the leader is Singalat. Yazdi on the outside. Macbeth's

:42:12. > :42:16.trapped a little while. One length further back. Minimise Risk.

:42:16. > :42:21.Followed on the inside next by Perennial and then Athens and

:42:21. > :42:24.further back on the field on the inside, Flying Trader from gas

:42:24. > :42:28.Bourgass. Somemothersdohavem out the back. All the time running

:42:28. > :42:33.downhill towards the mile in the Queen's Vase and Singalat on the

:42:33. > :42:39.inside shows the way. Half a length to up on the outside Yazdi. Macbeth.

:42:39. > :42:43.The pace has been fairly good. A length away on the inside, Minimise

:42:43. > :42:48.Risk from Estimate. Perennial travelling on the inside

:42:48. > :42:51.there as they race into Swindley Bottom. Followed by Athens and

:42:51. > :42:54.Flying Trader and Ed De Gas and Somemothersdohavem-Starting this

:42:55. > :43:02.really stiff uphill climb now towards home. Uphill all the way

:43:02. > :43:07.from here and it's Singalat out in front by a length to Ed De Gas.

:43:07. > :43:10.Macbeth. A length further back, Minimise Risk. Estimate is very

:43:10. > :43:16.handy. Three away on the inside is

:43:16. > :43:22.Perennial, followed by Athens. Still climbing. Heading up past the

:43:22. > :43:26.five. They're followed by Ed De Gas. Then further back, Flying Trader

:43:26. > :43:31.from Somemothersdohavem. Racing to the half mile and Singalat on the

:43:31. > :43:36.inside just the leader. From Yazdi and then Macbeth. No runs yet. Now

:43:36. > :43:40.he's starting to niggle on, Estimate, on the inside. Minimise

:43:40. > :43:45.Risk and then Perennial on the rails. A length further back is Ed

:43:45. > :43:50.De Gas on the outside. Athens, then a long gap to Somemothersdohavem.

:43:50. > :43:55.On the turn for home in the Queen's Vase. In the centre, Yazdi grabs

:43:55. > :43:58.the lead, tackled by Macbeth. Here is Estimate on theout side.

:43:58. > :44:04.Minimise Risk nowhere to go. Perennial on the rail. Inside the

:44:04. > :44:08.two now, Estimate's gone for home. The Queen's filly is in the lead

:44:08. > :44:12.from Athens. Ed De Gas. Further back it's Macbeth. Estimate at the

:44:12. > :44:16.furlong, sprinted three lengths in front. Athens is sticking to the

:44:16. > :44:24.task, followed by Ed De Gas. Estimate is roaring away and we

:44:24. > :44:30.have a Royal winner! Estimate goes up to the line, to win it by five

:44:30. > :44:35.lengths. A big win in the Queen's Vase. Followed by Bourgass gas.

:44:35. > :44:38.Followed by Macbeth and Minimise Risk. Followed by Perennial and

:44:38. > :44:45.Yazdi. Singalat and Somemothersdohavem. Flying Trader

:44:45. > :44:55.is the last to finish. A really good staying performance by this

:44:55. > :44:55.

:44:55. > :45:05.filly, Estimate. And Her Majesty has a winner at the Royal meeting

:45:05. > :45:09.

:45:09. > :45:18.and is congratulated by her guests which include Sheikh Mohammed and

:45:18. > :45:25.Princess -- and the Princess from Jordan.

:45:25. > :45:29.Estimate goes to the line to win it so well. A really good staying

:45:29. > :45:39.performance. Athens second. Bourgass gas in third. Came from

:45:39. > :45:42.

:45:42. > :45:48.well back. In fourth, Macbeth. In good run on the rail. Yazdi was

:45:48. > :45:55.further back. Then a long gap to Singalat. They

:45:56. > :46:00.were followed by Somemothersdohavem. As you can see, they were well

:46:00. > :46:04.swung out, Flying Trader, towards the back of the field. Five lengths

:46:05. > :46:12.officially. A length-and-a-half between second and third.

:46:12. > :46:18.Estimate, the 3-1 favourite has won here for Her Majesty, the Queen,

:46:18. > :46:25.for Sir Michael Stoute and for Ryan Moore. 11-2, the second. He mae may

:46:25. > :46:34.have picked up the third. That is her mag City the Queen's

:46:34. > :46:39.21st Royal Ascot winner. There -- Her Majesty, the Queen's

:46:39. > :46:43.21st Royal Ascot winner. This filly, bred with so much stamina in her

:46:43. > :46:49.pedigree was going to stay every yard of this trip. Ryan Moore

:46:49. > :46:54.thought, I'm going for home. Athens gives chase, but can make no

:46:54. > :47:00.impression, as the filly stretches clear here. The impressive winner

:47:00. > :47:05.of the Queen's Vase. Only one more thing needed to

:47:05. > :47:14.happen to make this the perfect Royal Ascot and that was a winner

:47:14. > :47:19.for the Queen and it has happened. A lot of stamina. Sheik Mohammed

:47:19. > :47:24.alongside the queen now. Both having a win ther week. And the

:47:24. > :47:28.princess, who has had two. They know, because they've had horses so

:47:28. > :47:33.long, you cannot predict anything. You cannot write the script. Get

:47:33. > :47:37.them in the right races and you're home. It is nice for Sir Michael to

:47:37. > :47:44.have a winner at Royal Ascot as well. You can hear the cheer. This

:47:44. > :47:51.is the cheer for Her Majesty's filly, Estimate, after winning the

:47:51. > :47:57.Queen's Vase. It is coming into the winner's enclosure. The Queen is

:47:58. > :48:01.making her way down. Ryan Moore dismounts. Sir Michael Stoute has

:48:01. > :48:08.sprinted down and is there to greet the filly.

:48:08. > :48:16.Will we get a smile from Ryan? That is a smile of distinct

:48:16. > :48:20.satisfaction. There is the Queen. Her racing adviser alongside her.

:48:20. > :48:30.As the people bepeace process gin to see her around the paddock, here

:48:30. > :48:32.

:48:32. > :48:36.you go... APPLAUSE

:48:36. > :48:46.What a magnificent triumph of in her Diamond Jubilee year, to have a

:48:46. > :48:46.

:48:46. > :48:56.winner at the Royal Meeting. This filly, Estimate was bred by

:48:56. > :49:03.

:49:03. > :49:13.the Aga Khan, from a top stpamly. winning a Gold Cup. A great staying

:49:13. > :49:14.

:49:14. > :49:19.performance. Her Majesty listening to Ryan Moore,

:49:19. > :49:24.what he has to say and what Sir Michael Stoute the trainer, his

:49:25. > :49:34.interpretation. John Warren, her racing adviser

:49:34. > :49:42.there, in the top hat. This is a magic moment.

:49:42. > :49:50.We saw last time she had a winner here just the absolute delight.

:49:50. > :50:00.That is when Free Agent crossed the line. Today, she has witnessed a

:50:00. > :50:08.very, very fine staying performance from a quality filly.

:50:09. > :50:12.By Monson. And this filly should keep going and going on to more

:50:12. > :50:22.staying. That's for sure. She's got so much scope in the staying

:50:22. > :50:23.

:50:23. > :50:31.department. Proud, really appreciative.

:50:31. > :50:35.What this means to a genuine horse lover, genuine racing fan. That's

:50:35. > :50:39.the Royal Box that overlooks the paddock. It is behind this

:50:39. > :50:45.magnificent stand here at Ascot. That is where the Queen, well you

:50:45. > :50:55.saw her before, coming out to see them for an earlier race in the

:50:55. > :50:56.

:50:56. > :51:06.paddock. Here is the post-race picture. The Queen, like all proud

:51:06. > :51:16.

:51:16. > :51:19.owners, loves to be photographed because his Royal Highness, the

:51:19. > :51:24.Duke of Edinburgh was on the card to make the presentation for the

:51:25. > :51:30.Queen's Vase. We thought it might be possible, but it is always a

:51:31. > :51:37.long shot, that he would present it to Her Majesty, the Queen. It's a

:51:37. > :51:41.pretty unusual occurrence. Very unusual indeed.

:51:41. > :51:47.This is when the Queen should have been saying, now I have this nice

:51:47. > :51:52.filly, you have just seen here, could you give me a nomination to a

:51:52. > :51:56.new approach, please. That would be the right time. Let's hear from the

:51:56. > :52:03.winning trainer, Sir Michael Stoute. Sir Michael, congratulations. Can

:52:03. > :52:09.you tell us what an honour or how this sits with you, this success...

:52:09. > :52:13.We hoped to do it with Chalton House. We've done it here and the

:52:13. > :52:23.whole country would have appreciated this victory for Her

:52:23. > :52:26.

:52:26. > :52:35.Majesty. A word about the filly and her experience? She's from the Aga

:52:36. > :52:45.Khan family. I -- she has improved in her work of late. Come in nicely.

:52:46. > :52:49.

:52:49. > :52:53.An extremely delighted owner as because the Queen and the Duke of

:52:53. > :52:57.Edinburgh have been married 64 years and in that long time, this

:52:57. > :53:03.is the first time that this has ever happened, the Duke of

:53:03. > :53:11.Edinburgh making the presentation of the Queen's vase, to Her Majesty,

:53:11. > :53:20.the Queen. Her 21st Royal Ascot winner and her first since 2008, as

:53:20. > :53:24.D Sir Michael Stoute, the winning trainer comes forward to be

:53:24. > :53:28.congratulated by the Duke of Edinburgh. There is quite a lot of

:53:28. > :53:36.laughter in the crowd when they heard presenting this trophy will

:53:36. > :53:41.be the Duke of Edinburgh. They didn't realise until then. A huge

:53:41. > :53:47.roar of appreciation for Ryan Moore. He was backed in 3-1 favourite for

:53:47. > :53:51.the Queen's Vase. They will appreciate that. The rest of the

:53:51. > :53:56.royal party, princess and Prince Michael of Kent, looking down on

:53:56. > :54:01.this scene. That is a photograph that will be treasured by all four

:54:01. > :54:06.of them, it has to be said. Of course. Especially the jockey

:54:06. > :54:11.and Sir Michael Stoute. He will be and Sir Michael Stoute. He will be

:54:11. > :54:16.very proud that he's trained a winner here at Royal Ascot in the

:54:16. > :54:23.Diamond Jubilee year. Absolutely marvellous for this to happen, not

:54:23. > :54:29.just for Her Majesty, but for the whole country who are royalists.

:54:29. > :54:35.The queen's first Royal Ascot winner back in 1953 with Choir Boy,

:54:35. > :54:39.now her 21st, courtesy of Estimate. A year in which 60 years of her

:54:39. > :54:42.reign and her racing interest, celebrated here at Royal Ascot,

:54:42. > :54:46.that is why the budgeting is out. There is a photographic exhibition

:54:46. > :54:53.as well. I suspect a new photo will be added to that exhibition and it

:54:53. > :54:57.will be there tomorrow. We will leave you with this huge
