0:11:09 > 0:11:11- There's no need to talk about it.

0:11:14 > 0:11:18- At this level, - you're hopeful moments will happen.

0:11:18 > 0:11:24- Unless you're in a stage and you get - two or three consecutive moments...

0:11:24 > 0:11:26- ..that's when he needs to say...

0:11:26 > 0:11:30- .."Look, we've been close - a couple of times...

0:11:31 > 0:11:33- "..this isn't normal."

0:12:32 > 0:12:35- Yes, about ten years now.

0:12:35 > 0:12:39- Since he was rallying - in the little Fiesta ST.

0:13:08 > 0:13:12- I didn't want to tell Elfyn - until he finished the rally.

0:13:12 > 0:13:16- He came home - and we made the decision.

0:13:17 > 0:13:21- We pulled the roof down, - pulled the heating system out...

0:13:21 > 0:13:25- ..knocked some walls down - and renovated it completely.

0:13:44 > 0:13:48- I'm constantly travelling but - there's nowhere I want to be more...

0:13:51 > 0:13:55- I worked here full-time - until the end of 2012.

0:13:55 > 0:13:58- That's when I moved up to M-Sport.

0:14:02 > 0:14:08- I try to do one or two days to - keep in touch with what's going on.

0:14:08 > 0:14:11- There's not much time - to do more than that.

0:14:11 > 0:14:14- Why is there a thermostat - beside the till?

0:14:14 > 0:14:16- Where?

0:14:17 > 0:14:19- What's it doing there?

0:14:19 > 0:14:21- What's this doing here?

0:14:23 > 0:14:30- Working with Elfyn isn't something - I like doing, to be honest.

0:14:30 > 0:14:33- We clash at work sometimes.

0:14:36 > 0:14:40- I prefer it - when Elfyn is away rallying.

0:14:41 > 0:14:43- Where's the Biro?

0:14:44 > 0:14:45- Biro?

0:14:45 > 0:14:47- Will you give it back?

0:14:51 > 0:14:53- When he's been home - for a week and a half...

0:14:53 > 0:14:55- ..I'm ready for him - to go away again.

0:15:02 > 0:15:06- I get nervous when he's competing.

0:15:07 > 0:15:11- When I'm home, I watch the phone - and the live texts.

0:15:14 > 0:15:16- I can keep busy at home.

0:15:16 > 0:15:20- I'll go off with my friends - or I'm working all day.

0:15:23 > 0:15:28- The business supported me and - allowed me to have my first ride...

0:15:28 > 0:15:31- ..before I went professional.

0:15:31 > 0:15:35- Then, of course, - I can support the business now.

0:15:35 > 0:15:37- I'm trying to do as much as I can.

0:15:37 > 0:15:40- Personally, I'm not here - often enough to do a lot.

0:15:40 > 0:15:42- I'm grateful for the work - the team does here.

0:15:50 > 0:15:53- A lot of what I've taught Elfyn...

0:15:53 > 0:15:56- ..is the work and the effort - in the business.

0:15:56 > 0:15:58- I've given him a lot of my savings.

0:15:59 > 0:16:04- But Elfyn has been able - to help himself considerably.

0:16:04 > 0:16:07- He should be praised for that.

0:16:07 > 0:16:09- He's got to where he is...

0:16:09 > 0:16:14- ..by spending the least amount that - anyone has in the past 10 years.

0:16:14 > 0:16:17- That's testament to his work.

0:16:18 > 0:16:24- I was a sensitive person myself - from a respect point of view.

0:16:25 > 0:16:27- It had to be mutual.

0:16:28 > 0:16:32- I have respect for his skill - and the effort he's put in...

0:16:32 > 0:16:38- ..and he has to respect the family - and the help he's been given.

0:16:38 > 0:16:41- He should never forget that.

0:16:42 > 0:16:46- If you don't put 100% - into something...

0:16:46 > 0:16:51- ..you don't have a chance of - making it to the top of your sport.

0:16:51 > 0:16:53- That's true of everyone there.

0:16:53 > 0:16:55- They give it 100%.

0:16:55 > 0:16:57- No less.

0:16:59 > 0:17:04- April 2017 - Rally Argentina

0:17:07 > 0:17:11- We hadn't had a great start - to the season in terms of results.

0:17:11 > 0:17:14- The times on the stage - weren't too bad...

0:17:15 > 0:17:18- ..but we'd struggled - to post any results at that point.

0:17:21 > 0:17:25- After 341kms of racing, - Elfyn was in the lead.

0:17:25 > 0:17:27- Elfyn has led from Stage 1.

0:17:27 > 0:17:31- Only 16kms to go. - Could this be his first victory?

0:17:34 > 0:17:38- He'd done an exceptional job - on the first day.

0:17:38 > 0:17:43- That gave him the confidence - for the future...

0:17:43 > 0:17:46- ..to be the fastest on each stage.

0:17:46 > 0:17:48- You take so much from that.

0:17:55 > 0:17:59- This is the moment, - the final stage, the Power Stage...

0:17:59 > 0:18:02- ..on the slopes of El Condor, - above the clouds.

0:18:03 > 0:18:04- What's it to be, Elfyn?

0:18:08 > 0:18:10- We had a problem with the brakes.

0:18:10 > 0:18:13- No-one was sure - what the problem was.

0:18:13 > 0:18:16- The Sunday morning service - was very frantic.

0:18:16 > 0:18:20- The boys were trying to change - a cylinder in the car.

0:18:20 > 0:18:25- It was a huge job in 15 minutes but - they got the brakes back on the car.

0:18:26 > 0:18:31- We went up El Condor and I could - feel the pedal was still spongy.

0:18:31 > 0:18:35- With the advice of the team, - we bled the brakes.

0:18:35 > 0:18:41- There was still a fault in - the system and we lost the brakes...

0:18:41 > 0:18:46- ..at the start of the steepest - downhill stage of the rally.

0:18:46 > 0:18:50- The brakes were only just biting - at the end of the travel.

0:18:50 > 0:18:53- That wasn't a great experience - at all.

0:18:56 > 0:19:00- At that point, I was quite sure - it wasn't going to happen.

0:19:00 > 0:19:06- We lost grip and we clipped a bridge - on the way down.

0:19:06 > 0:19:09- That cost us a few seconds.

0:19:09 > 0:19:13- Unfortunately, we lost the rally - by 0.7 seconds.

0:19:13 > 0:19:16- I cried.

0:19:16 > 0:19:18- I was on my own. - I was so gutted for him.

0:19:18 > 0:19:21- I know how hard he works - for these rallies.

0:19:22 > 0:19:25- Just to lose it by that much, - it was gutting.

0:19:30 > 0:19:34- Dolgellau - Mile End Service Station

0:19:42 > 0:19:48- Naturally, not every rally - will go to plan in every respect.

0:19:48 > 0:19:50- He seems to be dealing well - with things.

0:19:51 > 0:19:54- He learns something - from every rally.

0:19:57 > 0:20:02- The disappointment starts - as a great disappointment...

0:20:03 > 0:20:06- ..but looking back at it now...

0:20:07 > 0:20:11- ..it might have helped - to bring Elfyn out of his shell...

0:20:11 > 0:20:13- ..and made him stronger.

0:20:13 > 0:20:18- We had him live on the stage - and we had the rally radio on.
