:00:45. > :00:53.Hello and Loch interweaved two of the autumn international series. I

:00:53. > :00:58.am standing on hope Manton, right on the board of England and Wales.

:00:58. > :01:02.-- mountain. Down there is Wrexham, where the game is to be played, and

:01:02. > :01:07.England is to the right, that is Chester. It is kind of appropriate,

:01:07. > :01:11.because Wales will hope to beat the old enemy and caused a massive

:01:11. > :01:16.shock. England will hope not only to win today but win the series and

:01:16. > :01:23.give themselves hope ahead of the World Cup in 12 months' time.

:01:23. > :01:27.a key game to win this for either side. Now they are off! He is

:01:27. > :01:37.flying down that left hand side. That was a late tackle, but well-

:01:37. > :01:37.

:01:38. > :01:47.defended. A blockbusting run, what a pass! The gap is found by David

:01:48. > :01:50.

:01:50. > :02:00.Ryan Hall, trier! All the action is here, look at this! And he has gone

:02:00. > :02:13.

:02:13. > :02:20.in, he has gone in. Superbly taken, Wales are 25-one did in today, a

:02:20. > :02:24.real David and Goliath battle. -- 25-1 to win. Skinny odds, but

:02:24. > :02:34.shocks do happen. It is not far from rugby league territory, and it

:02:34. > :02:39.

:02:39. > :02:46.is not that long ago that Crusaders Well, Wales showed last week that

:02:46. > :02:50.they can compete strongly at this level. They went down 20-6 against

:02:50. > :02:55.France, and they could have shocked friends if they had not had a short

:02:55. > :03:01.spell when they conceded three tries. Defeat today would mean that

:03:01. > :03:07.their tournament ends. I got my legs stuck down a Rabbit Hole

:03:07. > :03:14.filming that opening leg, so I am happy to be on firmer ground here

:03:14. > :03:19.in the glorious autumn sunshine at the Racecourse Stadium. Sam, how is

:03:19. > :03:22.that they? Are you OK? Yeah, not too far off. I started running

:03:22. > :03:27.again this week and will be in for training next week, hopefully fit

:03:27. > :03:30.for selection for the French game. That is next Saturday, and you will

:03:30. > :03:37.be able to see that on BBC television. We did Wales-France

:03:37. > :03:40.last week, the Welsh were not lucky, they put up a good show. They were

:03:40. > :03:43.fantastic, showing passion and aggression, really ripping into the

:03:43. > :03:48.French boys. I'm not sure they will be able to contain the English

:03:48. > :03:52.today. England are very much the firm favourites, and Steve McNamara

:03:52. > :03:54.said that in many ways they are not testing themselves against their

:03:54. > :03:59.opponents in these autumn internationals, but against their

:03:59. > :04:03.own standards. That is exactly right. They come into this game as

:04:03. > :04:07.heavy favourites having done great preparation. They have a lot of new

:04:07. > :04:11.players into the team, and they want to see how to get the best out

:04:11. > :04:16.of themselves. Steve Marc de Maar has been quite outspoken about how

:04:16. > :04:19.the tournament, this tournament, they needed to start and get the

:04:19. > :04:23.ball rolling quickly, but this is really the launch pad for the World

:04:23. > :04:27.Cup, and this is what they want to do, make sure that they hit the

:04:27. > :04:33.ground running and they really strongly. The kick of his less than

:04:33. > :04:43.15 minutes away. Let's take a look at the history of this fixture, the

:04:43. > :04:45.

:04:45. > :04:50.Wales face a tough test today, having not beaten England in 17

:04:50. > :04:55.years. Their narrow victory in 1995's European Championship was

:04:55. > :05:05.inspired by a brace of tries from Kevin Ellis. The team also included

:05:05. > :05:12.But the class of row put up stern resistance against the French last

:05:12. > :05:15.week, and despite defeat they will not take a backward step. England

:05:15. > :05:20.have beaten Wales in the last eight meetings and are overwhelming

:05:20. > :05:23.favourites to do so again. Former skipper Jamie Peacock has passed on

:05:23. > :05:31.the captaincy to Kevin Sinfield, who captained Leeds Rhinos to Grand

:05:31. > :05:37.Final glory earlier this month. The coach, Steve McNamara, will want to

:05:37. > :05:43.impress ahead of next year's World Cup, when Australia and New Zealand

:05:43. > :05:47.touchdown in 12 months. We will hear from both coaches shortly. Sam,

:05:47. > :05:52.I wonder what it does to the mentality of the squad when you are

:05:52. > :05:55.such heavy favourites in a game like this. I think our preparation

:05:55. > :06:00.has been concentrating on ourselves. We have prepared for this game as

:06:00. > :06:04.if we were playing the Kiwis of the Aussies. You know, we had a great

:06:04. > :06:07.training camp in South Africa, we finished last week, and our

:06:07. > :06:11.preparation when we came back was top-drawer. It is very much about

:06:11. > :06:16.us, we know we are firm favourites and deservedly so. We are testing

:06:16. > :06:21.ourselves against our own standards. We have a whole choir congregating

:06:21. > :06:25.behind us, they will sing very shortly, once we move from here. We

:06:25. > :06:29.do not want to spoil their performances, so let's you from

:06:29. > :06:32.both coaches, Steve McNamara and Iestyn Harris. You were

:06:32. > :06:36.disappointed with the result last week, but a huge number of

:06:36. > :06:41.positives out of that game. Yes, there are areas that we needed to

:06:41. > :06:45.work on, and we have done that this week. The sign of our improvement

:06:45. > :06:50.will be if we can improve on their areas again against top-class

:06:50. > :06:54.opposition, which England are. If we can improve in those areas that

:06:54. > :06:57.we needed to, and against this opposition, that says to me that

:06:57. > :07:01.our players are getting used to this level of competition, and that

:07:01. > :07:06.will be pleasing. Steve, you come in as firm favourites, what are you

:07:06. > :07:10.hoping to see from your team in the next few weeks? It is unusual for

:07:10. > :07:14.us to go in as favourites, but quite rightly so with the squad we

:07:14. > :07:17.have got. We will judge ourselves by our own standards. The bar has

:07:17. > :07:23.been raised to be an England player, and the players understand that,

:07:23. > :07:28.and we have to reach those expectations. What exactly do you

:07:28. > :07:31.want from your side? Not a perfect performance, you do not get that in

:07:31. > :07:34.your first game when you get together, but very committed,

:07:34. > :07:39.enthusiastic, one where we show a great deal of trust with each other

:07:39. > :07:44.in terms of our systems, and we will be physical in terms of what

:07:44. > :07:48.we are going to do. What are the areas you have been focusing on?

:07:48. > :07:52.Well, they are private, and they are for us. The sort of challenge I

:07:52. > :07:56.have given to our players is, can we be the best of ourselves? If we

:07:56. > :08:01.can be the best of ourselves, if that is good enough to win the game,

:08:01. > :08:06.fantastic. If not, but we are the best of ourselves, we can walk off

:08:07. > :08:10.with our heads held high. That is the most important thing. A few new

:08:10. > :08:16.faces, so making their debuts, who excites you most about the new

:08:16. > :08:19.guys? There are so many of them, so many to choose. A lot of our

:08:19. > :08:25.players have come from the programme, they have built

:08:25. > :08:29.relationships with each other, Josh Charnley, they are doing all sorts,

:08:29. > :08:33.I dread to think! No, it all helps in terms of getting an

:08:33. > :08:43.international team together from different clubs, and credit goes to

:08:43. > :08:45.

:08:45. > :08:48.the staff. Steve McNamara talking This is his record as England coach,

:08:48. > :08:53.won five and lost four of the games where he has been in charge, but it

:08:53. > :08:57.is the other things he has implemented, the fact that all of

:08:57. > :09:00.the England's teams play the same system. Yes, I cannot talk highly

:09:00. > :09:03.enough of the system, it is something that has been set up by

:09:03. > :09:09.Steve McNamara, and the players that are coming through, the first-

:09:09. > :09:12.team players are looking over their shoulders. How much you notice when

:09:12. > :09:18.the new lads come into the England squad and they can hit the ground

:09:18. > :09:21.running because they know how you are going to play? As you say,

:09:21. > :09:25.there is lads play at 16 for the England Academy, the same

:09:25. > :09:29.structures we play, and it makes the transition from Super League up

:09:30. > :09:35.to international level much easier. Josh Charnley and Zak Hardaker have

:09:35. > :09:39.been posting videos on the website which includes the revelation that

:09:39. > :09:48.Charnley as eight cuddle seat. I will not as if you have one!

:09:48. > :09:54.Hardaker is taking the full-back What are his strengths, Sam?

:09:54. > :09:58.think, first of all, he has got genuine strength for attack and

:09:58. > :10:03.defence, the kind of attack of the top standard, and he has got that

:10:03. > :10:08.ability, you know, if there is a gap to be found, he can find it.

:10:08. > :10:12.What have you seen in him Robbie? You said that he needed to put on a

:10:12. > :10:17.bit of timber! I said it a couple of years ago, playing on the wing

:10:17. > :10:25.for Leeds, I said he needed to put on some timber on one of the social

:10:25. > :10:30.media websites, and I was hit back He adds a loss to the Leeds dynamic,

:10:30. > :10:34.striking in from full-back, good turn of pace, and he is the player

:10:34. > :10:38.that they look for, on the offensive plays, when they are

:10:38. > :10:44.attacking the opposition line. He is the Go To man, he can go into

:10:44. > :10:47.space and he can score tries. the Super League Young Player of

:10:47. > :10:51.the year, and he will be very exciting to watch this afternoon.

:10:51. > :10:58.Can the Welsh defence cope with him? They held up or I'll last

:10:58. > :11:02.weekend. -- they held up well. did not concede a try in the second

:11:02. > :11:06.half, they use a really compressed defence against Zak Hardaker, he is

:11:06. > :11:10.just so good. On his feet, he seems to get out of these tackles, and

:11:10. > :11:14.that is where the difference might be. The other thing they did last

:11:14. > :11:19.week, when their systems did break down, they scrambled very well.

:11:19. > :11:23.we saw that when they say is to walk three tries, and that was all

:11:23. > :11:28.down to effort, and that is really important for them. -- they saved

:11:28. > :11:32.two or three tries. It is the mental side as well as the physical

:11:32. > :11:35.that will test them today, Robbie. Wales will be very proud about

:11:35. > :11:38.pulling on their jumper and running out and singing the national anthem,

:11:39. > :11:45.and this is where the World Cup starts for them also. You know, a

:11:45. > :11:48.lot of young players are coming through, they will stop in the

:11:48. > :11:52.Super League competition and the Championship, and they need to

:11:52. > :11:55.bring their game today and look forward to next year. England will

:11:55. > :12:00.be led by Kevin Sinfield this afternoon, 12 years after he made

:12:00. > :12:06.his England debut. Give us a fellow players' appreciation of Kevin

:12:06. > :12:09.Sinfield. B is one of those players that every single game, you know,

:12:09. > :12:13.his standards are so high and he never dips below them. The people

:12:13. > :12:18.who appreciate what he does most will be the last in the Leeds team.

:12:18. > :12:24.As a captain, he leads by example and comes up with those big plays

:12:24. > :12:28.at Michael Symes. I have been on the other end of some of those. --

:12:28. > :12:32.at vital times. He is the perfect choice for the England captain.

:12:32. > :12:36.is impossible to underestimate his leadership ability. That is what is

:12:36. > :12:43.so great for the other players. In Super League, when you play against

:12:43. > :12:46.Leeds, you are not fearing Kevin Sinfield when he has the ball in

:12:46. > :12:50.his hand, you fear the other players. Kevin, it is his

:12:50. > :12:54.leadership, the way he moves his team around and keeps the players

:12:54. > :12:58.playing to the system. That is what is important for Steve McNamara is

:12:59. > :13:07.that the Wigan, sorry, the England team deliver on what he wants them

:13:08. > :13:10.to, they stick to their game plan. Look at the sun shining on seven

:13:10. > :13:13.Sinfield -- Kevin Sinfield With Craig Kopczak alongside him. A new

:13:13. > :13:17.team-mate of yours, we will talk about that at half-time, the teams

:13:17. > :13:27.are coming out onto the field and we can join the commentary team on

:13:27. > :13:32.BBC One, Ian Millward and, first of shining on his racecourse stadium

:13:32. > :13:40.at Wrexham, and the players are looking seemingly nervous, and so

:13:40. > :13:44.they should be, even Kenan Silfield, the new England captain -- Kevin

:13:44. > :13:51.Sinfield, the new England captain. A good crowd in his main stand,

:13:51. > :13:58.lots of Welsh fans with their red, green and white Jersey's. --

:13:58. > :14:02.Jerseys. The weather, the sun is shining, but the wind is going to

:14:02. > :14:09.be quite difficult for one or two are these players and now the

:14:09. > :14:19.formalities, the two national anthems, firstly the England one, I

:14:19. > :14:19.

:14:19. > :14:23.understand. But first of all, we are to have a minute's silence in

:14:23. > :14:26.memory of Karina Menzies, the 32- year-old mother of three who so

:14:26. > :14:36.tragically lost their lives in Cardiff following some terrible

:14:36. > :14:36.

:14:36. > :16:14.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 98 seconds

:16:14. > :16:24.incidents on the city's streets silence in memory of the 32-year-

:16:24. > :16:24.

:16:24. > :19:26.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 98 seconds

:19:26. > :19:32.old mother who tragically lost her set for the second match of this

:19:32. > :19:41.Tri-Nations series. And a very lively, passionate crowd here,

:19:41. > :19:47.especially tremendous support for the men in that red jersey. The

:19:47. > :19:54.Wales coach Iestyn Harris brings in Craig Moss into his back line and

:19:54. > :20:02.to be a look to Danny Jones and Matt Seamark to provide a pacy

:20:02. > :20:06.three-quarter line. A solid pack here. They will need to mount a

:20:06. > :20:09.strong defence in midfield, especially in the early stages. In

:20:09. > :20:18.the absence of almost a dozen possible, England coach Steve

:20:18. > :20:28.McNamara includes Zak Hardaker and Kallum Watkins in his line-up. Up

:20:28. > :20:38.

:20:38. > :20:44.front, plenty of experience in that bench for Wales. For England, look

:20:44. > :20:51.out for Rob Burrow, a player capable of turning any match. The

:20:51. > :20:57.referee is from France. Just waiting for the signal. Adrian

:20:57. > :21:03.Morley there and Kevin Sinfield, his debut as a captain. Under way,

:21:03. > :21:08.then. How do you see the opening 15 minutes? It's vital for the Welsh

:21:08. > :21:12.to start consistently and get some their rhythm in their defence. They

:21:12. > :21:17.need to get some confidence and that will be vital for the be all

:21:17. > :21:27.so you have got to know that they have got to couple the good kicking

:21:27. > :21:32.

:21:32. > :21:37.settle the confidence. Kick for Wales. Quite a good one, too. I did

:21:37. > :21:47.say earlier on it there is a stiff blustery wind blowing. And a lot

:21:47. > :21:54.

:21:54. > :22:04.will be expected in this Welsh pack. Good movement of the ball away. On

:22:04. > :22:06.

:22:06. > :22:10.the left-hand side. Ben Flower and Craig Kopczak getting in there now.

:22:10. > :22:15.A lot of youngsters in this Welsh side. There will be some nerves

:22:15. > :22:19.around, I think. I tell you what Iestyn Harris does well. They are

:22:19. > :22:24.very structured in attack and play similar to Wigan, because his

:22:24. > :22:30.assistant coach at Wigan, and it helps them with their confidence.

:22:30. > :22:37.Nice kick over the line there from Matt Seamark. A difficult chance

:22:37. > :22:40.there. The great kick. As he went in the air, he catches it and it's

:22:40. > :22:45.a try but the ball's momentum went forward even though the England

:22:45. > :22:50.player kicked it down there. The first movement was forward there.

:22:50. > :22:58.It came off Ritchie Myler's leg. A good decision by the referee.

:22:58. > :23:03.Outstanding. England now has Chris Hill, making his debut in the

:23:03. > :23:09.England pack with his distinctive headgear. From Warrington. I think

:23:09. > :23:14.this is where Wales really will have to look at for trouble. This

:23:14. > :23:24.is a very big, powerful pack. Good movement they're out wide from

:23:24. > :23:36.

:23:36. > :23:42.Kevin Sinfield, again. Jamie Jones There it is. Good try already. Is

:23:42. > :23:46.it a forward pass? No. Good decision there by the referee.

:23:46. > :23:51.Kallum Watkins looked to have had the first touchdown but not to be.

:23:51. > :23:56.We see already there the craft of Kevin Sinfield. Yes, both teams,

:23:56. > :24:00.very similar. They tried to challenge on the edges. You have

:24:00. > :24:08.got to have some faith on the inside person who will cover your

:24:08. > :24:18.space also. Kevin Sinfield sliced through. The final pass, just a

:24:18. > :24:28.

:24:28. > :24:32.touch forward. A big threat, though. expect them to have better cohesion.

:24:32. > :24:35.They had been in South Africa for altitude training. We would like to

:24:35. > :24:40.see them identify what the attackers and show us what they

:24:40. > :24:45.have been practising. The problem in the modern game, so many people

:24:45. > :24:50.place so flat at the player of the ball, that there is a tendency to

:24:50. > :24:54.over run now. Yes, but it could be wide, too. You have got to take the

:24:54. > :24:58.space sometime but I understand where you're coming from. Not a

:24:58. > :25:01.great kick and they are going to start on the halfway here. That's

:25:01. > :25:11.what you can't afford to do. Put them in the corners and make them

:25:11. > :25:20.

:25:20. > :25:24.Lloyd and Ryan Hall. Good burst on to the ball by Young and Kallum

:25:24. > :25:34.Watkins, who had problems with injuries in 2011. He has really

:25:34. > :25:47.

:25:47. > :25:51.that ball. I tell you what, they had some numbers there. I thought

:25:51. > :25:57.the pass when diffraction behind him. Look at will be defences doing

:25:57. > :26:01.and where the spaces. It was a touch behind. He was instinctively

:26:01. > :26:05.looking putting his hands tied with the ball, wasn't he? The he was

:26:05. > :26:09.eager to get to that space because they had numbers on the outside.

:26:09. > :26:15.This is the hard part. The half- backs are trying to get it and it's

:26:15. > :26:19.a tough role. Already both teams are pushing on it. Good movement

:26:19. > :26:29.from a number two, Elliot Kear, a man in the forwards to get across

:26:29. > :26:41.

:26:41. > :26:47.and get a few charges down the is a good discipline with the Welsh

:26:47. > :26:56.up front in his early minutes. there is. I have a distinct role.

:26:56. > :27:06.Good little chip kick again. He did well to get back over there. Josh

:27:06. > :27:30.

:27:30. > :27:40.Charnley. The ball was not grounded. side. Good speed of that defensive

:27:40. > :27:47.

:27:47. > :27:57.Wales. They made 50 metres and attacked England coming off their

:27:57. > :28:07.

:28:07. > :28:17.line. An outstanding defensive set movement in midfield. A little

:28:17. > :28:51.

:28:51. > :29:01.risky pass from the young lad Ben Setting the lead for everybody up

:29:01. > :29:03.

:29:03. > :29:13.colleague. Just 12 months ago playing in the championship with

:29:13. > :29:35.

:29:35. > :29:40.centurions. Hardly dreaming of an Cudjoe. Very much in the middle. A

:29:40. > :29:48.tall man for a prop forward. Very good footwork and a passing game.

:29:48. > :29:56.Good pass. I wrote to Sean O'Loughlin. Ellis still trying to

:29:56. > :30:02.get him. The offload. He doesn't. He's right in the looking for a

:30:02. > :30:10.knock-on, Kevin Sinfield. Nice movement. Good long ball out there

:30:11. > :30:15.and it's a try in the corner! No problem at all! Ryan Hall, the

:30:15. > :30:22.first try of the match in the corner but the long pass cut out

:30:22. > :30:25.the centre and Ryan Hall easily touched it down. Some back-to-back

:30:25. > :30:28.sets for the answer knockdowns by the Welsh. You have got to admire

:30:28. > :30:32.their desperation. A couple of times they came up short and

:30:32. > :30:36.because they had to scramble and get numbers into the frame, they

:30:36. > :30:40.had to compress their defence, and they had numbers on the outside. To

:30:40. > :30:49.try to solve it when the Welsh guys come flying along the line, because

:30:50. > :30:52.he did not nail him, he left three on two. It was Ben Flower who tried

:30:52. > :31:02.to sell that himself there. The desperation in the corner

:31:02. > :31:12.

:31:12. > :31:16.compressed them up but I director the world 13, which is judged by

:31:16. > :31:26.the media from all over the rugby league nations. Kevin Sinfield,

:31:26. > :31:44.

:31:44. > :31:54.so England content with that. needed four defenders outside the

:31:54. > :32:10.

:32:10. > :32:14.post, and because they were tracked will kick off. He plays his rugby

:32:14. > :32:19.league with Wynnum Manly. It is a very strong league, down below the

:32:19. > :32:24.NRL, which is the major competition in Australia, very strong, and a

:32:24. > :32:28.lot of the players go up and down from the NRL, so he is very well

:32:28. > :32:32.equipped. One or two young lads from Wales and England going over

:32:32. > :32:36.to play in the Queensland Cup now. Yes, it is a great experience of

:32:36. > :32:46.going to Australia, any way of advancing your game is good for the

:32:46. > :32:51.

:32:51. > :33:01.40-20, and would I be right to say they have got a slight breeze with

:33:01. > :33:04.

:33:04. > :33:09.them at the moment, England? Very least give possession away from

:33:09. > :33:15.England in the early stages. Steve McNamara was very, very keen that

:33:15. > :33:25.England came out of the traps really part in the early 20 minutes.

:33:25. > :33:39.

:33:39. > :33:43.they have decided to finally go for Yeah, I can understand why they are

:33:43. > :33:48.taking their time. They want to be able to slow the momentum down,

:33:48. > :33:52.because England have got great equality across the park. This will

:33:52. > :33:59.be an interesting set as they set up their structure. They will get

:33:59. > :34:09.to the Middle and try to beat them with numbers. Kopczak, the skipper,

:34:09. > :34:11.

:34:11. > :34:17.moved from Bradford to Huddersfield under, but no chance. Oh, good pass,

:34:17. > :34:27.could pass, a chance! No, a couple of metres short. Wales' attacking

:34:27. > :34:35.

:34:35. > :34:39.tell you what, there has not been a lot of times they have been down

:34:39. > :34:44.here, they have been very good in attack, making opportunities, a lot

:34:44. > :34:49.of bodies in motion. You can see their structure and opportunities.

:34:49. > :34:53.If they had one more player, they would have created two on one, but

:34:53. > :34:57.unfortunately it was not to be. couple of mistakes have let them

:34:57. > :35:02.down, haven't they? They have committed quite a few mistakes

:35:02. > :35:08.against France last week, and I know Iestyn Harris was very keen to

:35:08. > :35:12.have them done away with. You can get a bit anxious, doing a lot of

:35:12. > :35:15.defending, the possession is 60-40, England's way, so when you get the

:35:15. > :35:19.ball, you think you have to do something with it, but Wales just

:35:19. > :35:25.need to build pressure. Their attitude in defence is really good

:35:25. > :35:32.at the moment. Again, Craig Moss in the right position, exactly when

:35:32. > :35:40.the ball is going. This man from the Keatley Cougars. Sensible play

:35:40. > :35:50.again from Michael Channing of the London Broncos. A Harlequins rugby

:35:50. > :35:54.

:35:54. > :36:04.large 10 metres between the two sides, trying to keep a good

:36:04. > :36:14.

:36:14. > :36:20.good kick pressure, but making himself vulnerable, getting the

:36:20. > :36:30.ball 40 metres from their line. When you let them into your half,

:36:30. > :36:32.

:36:32. > :36:37.back-to-backs set like this, you returned from Australia and the

:36:37. > :36:43.Tigers to take out a contract with Hull FC for next season. Oh, good

:36:43. > :36:50.running! Can he get into the corner? Yes, Josh Charnley is there,

:36:50. > :36:55.and once again Wales exposed on the flanks. A smile from Charnley and a

:36:55. > :36:59.try on his England debut. We talk about cause and effect, if we look

:36:59. > :37:04.at the cause, they should not happy having to kick on the halfway and

:37:04. > :37:12.putting it into the corner. When the half-backs did, he was

:37:12. > :37:17.vulnerable, a lot of pressure on that day. He is a very active front

:37:17. > :37:22.rower, and look at the combination between Sinfield and Watkins, he

:37:22. > :37:26.has the ability to stay very square to the line, so he holds these days

:37:26. > :37:32.earth, and Ellis, who is such a strong runner, he encouraged the

:37:33. > :37:37.defender to come in. No better finisher in rugby league than Josh

:37:37. > :37:42.Charnley. Watkins is not just developing as a free-flowing player

:37:42. > :37:51.but an ability to pass the ball also of 31 tries in Super League,

:37:51. > :38:01.the top Super League try-scorer. Sinfield, with a similar kick to

:38:01. > :38:11.

:38:11. > :38:21.his first failed attempt on the points-scorer with the Leeds club,

:38:21. > :38:21.

:38:21. > :38:31.he beat Lewis Jones' goal-kicking and I do not think I have seen in

:38:31. > :38:33.

:38:33. > :38:39.Ms two on the trot for a long while! -- MS. Be if you look here,

:38:39. > :38:44.using numbers, really good at committing defenders and making the

:38:44. > :38:49.10 on the inside, which got Watkins in. Even one on one, he is going to

:38:49. > :38:57.free his arms off, like he did. They have got some size, but

:38:57. > :39:07.Sinfield's selection is very good. The two Welsh wings are committing

:39:07. > :39:13.

:39:13. > :39:20.themselves very early. England, match. And I think we can and do

:39:21. > :39:28.Sam Tomkins in the studio. Can we? No, we can't, we haven't got time,

:39:28. > :39:36.because England are in again, Zak Hardaker, the debutant, scoring a

:39:36. > :39:42.try. Super League Young Player of the year celebrates again. And

:39:42. > :39:47.Wales, as I indicated during the line-outs, I expected them to be

:39:47. > :39:51.hit hard in his opening 20 minutes. Just looking at that last try, some

:39:51. > :39:57.of the Welsh forwards looked quite tired, and it is around the ruck

:39:57. > :40:01.area, a one-on-one tackle. Though Lachlan has the strength and

:40:01. > :40:06.ability to go through, and then Hardaker, always hanging around the

:40:06. > :40:12.ruck and pushing up. The defence, that was the first time that it was

:40:13. > :40:18.a tired and lazy effort, so far away from him, he pushed through.

:40:18. > :40:22.Sinfield has kicked that from in front. They will make a couple of

:40:22. > :40:28.changes, they have had a lot of possession now, England, and that

:40:28. > :40:34.is a cause of concern around the ruck. We see Kevin Sinfield making

:40:34. > :40:43.sure of his third conversion attempt and putting England in the

:40:43. > :40:48.lead by 14-0. And I understand we have now got Sam Tomkins in the

:40:48. > :40:53.studio, any comments so far, Sam? think the Welsh, well, they have

:40:53. > :40:56.impressed me with their defence, restricting as pretty well for the

:40:56. > :41:01.majority of the first 15 minutes. I think around the 20 minutes Mark is

:41:01. > :41:07.where we feel we will be able to get a foothold, especially down the

:41:08. > :41:12.middle, sun-baked English blokes in the middle stepping up. -- some big.

:41:12. > :41:18.Sam Tomkins there, not fit for selection this week, but I

:41:18. > :41:23.understand hopefully fit for next week against France. Anyway, one of

:41:23. > :41:29.his colleagues see it at Wigan, McIlorum, doing well in the half-

:41:29. > :41:35.back positions, as is Jamie Jones- Buchanan, driving in strongly. One

:41:35. > :41:41.of the big problems here for Wales is the size of this England pack.

:41:41. > :41:46.Looking at possession, it is 70% in England's favour. Here we go, the

:41:46. > :41:51.long ball again to Charnley and Watkins. But on that, if you get

:41:51. > :41:55.too much possession, that is where you are going to tie up. You cannot

:41:55. > :42:02.get sets or get forward, so the speed of the ball becomes too quick

:42:02. > :42:12.for you. That was well taken there by Elliot Kear, with the sun in his

:42:12. > :42:16.

:42:16. > :42:26.cannot steal, as Ryan Hall new. Not when there is more than one man in

:42:26. > :42:29.

:42:29. > :42:32.coming from underneath our commentary position, and they

:42:33. > :42:42.really do have to settle in here and get through a lot of hard work

:42:43. > :42:57.

:42:57. > :43:01.big, powerful Leeds winger. And a stock in play there, interference

:43:01. > :43:05.at the play-the-ball, trying to nip down to the sidelines, Tanya Arnold.

:43:05. > :43:09.Stefan Ratchford, you are not available for selection, how are

:43:09. > :43:13.you feeling? I'm feeling a bit better, getting there, I was ill

:43:13. > :43:17.early in the week but getting better. England looking strong year.

:43:17. > :43:23.We started well, probably the first five minutes Wales started quite

:43:23. > :43:33.well and sells, but we got the try in the corner, and then the two

:43:33. > :43:34.

:43:34. > :43:40.back to back tries have put us in play are not coming from any debt

:43:40. > :43:44.at all. Well, I think they were supposed to go to the left,

:43:44. > :43:49.McIlorum jumped there. Even if you're not going to get the ball,

:43:49. > :43:54.you have got to expected. Unfortunately, he just ran through.

:43:54. > :43:58.It was a great opportunity. Their kicking game now is not even making

:43:58. > :44:02.the opposition 40, and they are struggling coming out of their half,

:44:02. > :44:06.and it is a massive wear and tear on their defences around the ruck

:44:06. > :44:10.area. It is a little bit of a concern for Iestyn Harris at the

:44:10. > :44:14.moment, they need to get a better kicking game at the moment. I think

:44:14. > :44:20.we can see already that there are enough youngsters in this England

:44:20. > :44:25.side to put a lot of pressure on some of the gentleman who probably

:44:25. > :44:30.expect to be named easily in the World Cup in 12 months' time.

:44:30. > :44:33.advancement of young players has been outstanding, in the NRL Cup,

:44:33. > :44:43.when I came back, the improvement of the youngsters coming through

:44:43. > :44:53.

:44:53. > :44:58.has been very good, so it is not ball there, Danny Jones. Zak

:44:58. > :45:08.Hardaker are choosing the ball well. Three Welsh players showing passion

:45:08. > :45:13.

:45:13. > :45:23.for the tackling. That is needed. Terrific play inside again. Did he

:45:23. > :45:32.knock that down? I think he did. Yes. Interesting set. He knocked it

:45:32. > :45:36.down. Offside. He dived on it. He came from an offside position. They

:45:36. > :45:38.shifted wide and I think they have got to look at it, because they

:45:39. > :45:48.play the ball slow and they are getting hammered around the ruck

:45:49. > :46:08.

:46:08. > :46:15.area. They might need some more dummy. Good effort from Ritchie

:46:15. > :46:21.Myler. Michael McIlorum still gets the ball out. This time to Sean

:46:21. > :46:28.O'Loughlin again. A little grubber kick. Did he get it down? Kallum

:46:28. > :46:33.Watkins, yes we did. Very, very dark down there with that shadow

:46:33. > :46:43.over hanging from the stands. Difficult to see whether he got it

:46:43. > :46:43.

:46:43. > :46:46.down, but eventually he did. Kallum Watkins, a try. We see here again

:46:46. > :46:51.with Kevin Sinfield and Kallum Watkins. The penalty was justified,

:46:52. > :46:58.they made a break, it was knocked down. Just have a look at the

:46:58. > :47:05.decision. Kevin Sinfield rushed on the outside. Sorry, it is Sean

:47:05. > :47:11.O'Loughlin. They had to rush because they wanted to shut it down.

:47:11. > :47:18.They had to get up and they stopped them from wanting to shift the ball

:47:18. > :47:28.over to Josh Charnley but because they wanted to goes are far -- so

:47:28. > :47:48.

:47:48. > :47:53.far up, they were out of position. counts. Two points. His second

:47:53. > :48:03.conversion of the afternoon. Thanks to the other the kick are there

:48:03. > :48:12.

:48:12. > :48:17.shut it down. Bad news for Wales here. Rob Burrow is going to come

:48:17. > :48:24.on for Sean O'Loughlin. One of the most destructive players has come

:48:24. > :48:34.on, crow thing. They also need filled position and the ball. --

:48:34. > :49:09.

:49:09. > :49:15.seven, Ritchie Myler. Followers of all the way. Didn't leave him. --

:49:15. > :49:22.followed him all the way. Well done. Good running, though, by David

:49:22. > :49:32.James. Still, moving it across a Danny Jones. There looks inside.

:49:32. > :49:41.This is good pressure from Wales. On the last tackle. Jones again.

:49:41. > :49:50.Well taken, though. He's not a bloke you want to kick do. He is

:49:50. > :49:57.tall. They are back into the sets. Their kicking has let them down.

:49:57. > :50:07.Another error by England. Play on says the referee. He has decided

:50:07. > :50:34.

:50:34. > :50:44.20-0, England. Play on says the referee. Rightly so. A good

:50:44. > :50:49.

:50:49. > :50:59.pressure from Wales. They desperately need some points. Neil

:50:59. > :51:07.

:51:07. > :51:17.was it? No, he lost it in the tackle. It's a fair call. Another

:51:17. > :51:37.

:51:37. > :51:42.as a 17-year-old, would you believe He did well to get away with that.

:51:43. > :51:47.Short passing game here now. Matt Seamark, good ball. Can he get it

:51:47. > :51:51.into the centre there? He can't. That was good play but a good

:51:51. > :52:01.defence from England. Really being tested here now, three metres from

:52:01. > :52:08.

:52:08. > :52:18.the line. Good dummy again of from of. He says he has tackled. Back

:52:18. > :52:30.

:52:30. > :52:35.you can come back and play the ball. If the ball touches the ground,

:52:35. > :52:40.then that is a tackle. It wasn't touching the ground there but there

:52:40. > :52:50.was some body around his legs. club rules, international rules.

:52:50. > :53:01.

:53:01. > :53:08.- shouted. Tremendous running by Zak Hardaker and that is why he was

:53:08. > :53:11.judged the Young Player of the year. Number one. Second try. Talk about

:53:11. > :53:17.the errors by the Welsh down here. It's been a long time since we saw

:53:17. > :53:21.them finish off their set with a positive kick with the ball. Zak

:53:21. > :53:28.Hardaker, I have got to say, when you watch him play, he has a

:53:28. > :53:32.special title. The ability to swerve. His momentum and speed when

:53:32. > :53:36.he runs. He's quite a special talent. He looks effortless when he

:53:36. > :53:44.looks that and it's a sign of a great player won it looks like he

:53:44. > :53:48.has got time. With Gareth Hock, you have got to stop his legs and arms.

:53:48. > :53:53.He has the confidence. He knows he has got the full back seized up and

:53:53. > :53:58.it performs. Great skill. Such a tall, long-striding lad, too.

:53:58. > :54:08.Really burst through. Kevin Sinfield. Another two points for

:54:08. > :54:21.

:54:21. > :54:25.him. And England he's out thanks to centre there. The way he moves. The

:54:25. > :54:29.whole time he is doing things go Zak Hardaker, you think they're

:54:29. > :54:35.going to get him. It looks effortless. The sign of a quality

:54:36. > :54:39.player. He has arrived on the scene, hasn't he? He certainly has. Steve

:54:39. > :54:43.McNamara told me this week he wanted the youngsters to put

:54:43. > :54:51.pressure on the players to wear the experienced ones. I'm sure Sam

:54:51. > :54:57.Tomkins is having a look at him very closely. It puts pressure on

:54:57. > :55:02.the two wingers and the centres. He can play all of those roles. You

:55:02. > :55:07.can only play as good as the game you are in it. The English guys

:55:07. > :55:14.need to do that, too. The Welsh need to hang in here in this last

:55:14. > :55:20.six and a half minutes before the half-time whistle goes. 26-0

:55:20. > :55:30.already towards England. There is Rob Burrow. The half-back position.

:55:30. > :55:46.

:55:46. > :55:52.opportunity. Gareth Ellis, No. 12, breaking a ball, giving away

:55:52. > :55:56.penalties, all it does, they can't afford it. They are so vulnerable

:55:56. > :55:59.at the moment because of the amount of work we have to do. All of

:55:59. > :56:02.possession England and then they have to come off their Lynagh so

:56:02. > :56:12.it's a catch 22. They are contributing greatly to their

:56:12. > :56:33.

:56:33. > :56:39.across the line. Number 17 there, one of the interchange men. Lee

:56:39. > :56:45.Mossop. Good defence there from Wales. Desperate before half-time.

:56:45. > :56:49.Don't want to concede any more. Kevin Sinfield controlling things.

:56:49. > :56:56.Good running. He just could not take it. He really had to stretch

:56:56. > :57:06.but could not get the ball. But well-intended. And Wales breeze

:57:06. > :57:14.

:57:14. > :57:17.They got a lucky bounce, England, but did not finish it off. They

:57:17. > :57:21.will be disappointed they didn't nail him there. With the penalty

:57:21. > :57:29.and possession, if you want to be good against Australia and New

:57:29. > :57:36.Zealand, you have to nail them. England with a 63% territorial

:57:36. > :57:40.advantage. You can't give England back, can you? That is an

:57:40. > :57:49.unbelievable statistic. Territory, Possession, everything. And I think

:57:49. > :57:54.we can go to Tangier. Yes, Sean O'Loughlin has gone off and they

:57:54. > :58:00.are taken into the dressing room to work on him. A groin strain. Plenty

:58:00. > :58:04.of work here for Wales in this last three or four minutes. They need to

:58:04. > :58:14.hold this ball, retain possession. They don't want to concede any more

:58:14. > :58:23.

:58:23. > :58:27.Chip over the top. Canny reclaim it? Yes, he does. Great running

:58:27. > :58:33.down the right-hand side by a Elliot Kear. Now, a chance for

:58:33. > :58:38.Wales. Long ball. That was good there. Good judgment there by the

:58:39. > :58:44.number three, Kallum Watkins. He came in and put pressure on the man

:58:44. > :58:50.receiving the ball. I think there's some great stuff for Iestyn Harris

:58:50. > :58:54.this year. But the last time they got the edge. They got more space

:58:54. > :59:01.and made the England defence back- pedalled. They are so fresh in the

:59:01. > :59:08.ruck area. It's something they have to do. Excellent work. The finish

:59:08. > :59:14.was bad but that's probably where they are. Inconsistent. I must say,

:59:14. > :59:17.Danny Jones at not move the ball well on the right-hand side.

:59:17. > :59:23.think Iestyn Harris has brought a very good structured to Wales but I

:59:23. > :59:33.think they need to not to suit the opposition, the way they are

:59:33. > :59:37.

:59:37. > :59:43.With two minutes to go, we talk up the average set of six and in rugby

:59:43. > :59:47.league it's about 45 seconds. Let's have a great set here also if you

:59:47. > :59:49.don't score, let's come up with a repeat set and come up with some

:59:49. > :59:59.consistency on half-time. It's important they don't rush

:59:59. > :00:14.

:00:14. > :00:24.everything this set. Number three, France a few years ago, but

:00:24. > :00:40.

:00:40. > :00:45.Christiaan Roets made his debut in English defence, they are really

:00:45. > :00:51.moving across well. It will be interesting to see how they finish

:00:51. > :00:59.off on his last stack of. Ball, he just couldn't take it! What is the

:00:59. > :01:02.referee going to do? Who has got the knock on? The Welsh, yeah. He

:01:02. > :01:08.made a Carmont about the English defence, it is strong in the ruck

:01:08. > :01:12.area because they have been able to dominate that it, but a couple of

:01:12. > :01:22.times when Wales go on to England's left, they have nearly stripped

:01:22. > :01:51.

:01:51. > :01:57.then a couple of times, create the Gil Dudson, so near. Good short

:01:57. > :02:05.pass. Play on, says the referee, play on. Can he get it in the

:02:05. > :02:10.corner?! It is over, yes, and that is good play! Oh, he is going to

:02:10. > :02:15.the screen, did he get it down? Christiaan Roets of the North Wales

:02:15. > :02:24.Crusaders, as he got the first Welsh try of the match? Good play,

:02:24. > :02:34.slipping to the blind side. What he is saying, he is asking if there

:02:34. > :02:39.

:02:39. > :02:48.looking for a knock on, this is OK here, it is played on, he does not

:02:48. > :02:52.touch it at all. It comes off Flemming. That is not a knock-on.

:02:52. > :02:58.He is facing backwards to the line. I am happy with that, I thought he

:02:58. > :03:04.should have drawn the pass, but he had the confidence. If we had the

:03:04. > :03:11.video referee, we would be saying, try. He does not touch it, it comes

:03:11. > :03:14.off his leg. That is not a knock-on. That is not a knock on! It is a

:03:14. > :03:17.good one-handed pass, actually false start I will tell you what,

:03:17. > :03:23.we have just signed him at Castleford, I am very happy with

:03:23. > :03:33.that, Ray! We wait to see what Steve Ganson, the video referee,

:03:33. > :03:36.

:03:36. > :03:41.has to save. Yeah! Steve? Try? try! Much to the delight of the

:03:41. > :03:46.Welsh fans beneath us, and well deserved, no doubt about it.

:03:46. > :03:50.spoke about these last two minutes, the really important to build

:03:50. > :03:54.pressure and just be patient, and they created some opportunities. We

:03:54. > :03:58.have liked this structure down this end of the park, when they are

:03:58. > :04:01.inside the opposition 20 metres. But we have not seen them down

:04:01. > :04:05.there enough, their kicking game has not been strong enough, but it

:04:05. > :04:11.will give them a great deal of confidence, a positive to talk

:04:11. > :04:20.about at half-time. Danny Jones, the Keighley Cougars and Wales

:04:20. > :04:25.goalkicker. He has scored a few in his time. He scored in every match

:04:25. > :04:31.in the 2009 season for the Cougars. Can he get two points now for

:04:31. > :04:39.Wales? He strikes it well, it is a beauty, an absolute beauty,

:04:39. > :04:46.straight between the posts, the flags go up high, and Wales go in

:04:46. > :04:50.trailing by 26-6 at half-time, but some hope in that last try.

:04:50. > :04:54.certainly, and I think, look, if you were the England coach at the

:04:54. > :04:57.moment, they have dropped some possession, they need to be more

:04:57. > :05:07.clinical, and I thought the Welsh, if they can learn how to come out

:05:07. > :05:19.

:05:19. > :05:24.of their half better, they can get Its toe Wales a while to trouble

:05:24. > :05:30.the scoreboard, it was all England for most of that half, wasn't it? -

:05:30. > :05:40.- it took. Impressive debuts, Joanne Lee one of them going over

:05:40. > :05:45.the try-line. -- Joanne Lee -- Josh Charnley. Right at the death, Wales

:05:45. > :05:55.to score a try, not necessarily out of it at half-time, Wales 6,

:05:55. > :06:00.We will look back at the first half after we get some reaction to it

:06:00. > :06:03.with Tanya Arnold. Punching the air when that Welsh try went in, that

:06:03. > :06:08.should lift the mood a little bit at half-time. Yeah, it should, we

:06:08. > :06:12.have built up some pressure, and that is what you can do. It's just

:06:12. > :06:16.shows that once you get the pressure, you can score points.

:06:16. > :06:19.has been a harsh lesson in individual mistakes costing you.

:06:19. > :06:23.is individual missed tackles and individual brilliance from the

:06:23. > :06:27.England boys, but we knew how tough it would be, and we were not

:06:27. > :06:30.shocked, and I think we finished the stronger of the sides. There is

:06:30. > :06:35.a big wind at there, so hopefully we can get some good field position

:06:35. > :06:39.and score more points. We saw last week what a half-time team talk

:06:39. > :06:43.from Iestyn Harris can do. What will he be saying? Let's cut out

:06:43. > :06:47.the individual errors and look tight and hopefully complete more

:06:47. > :06:55.sets and get good field position. If we do that, we give ourselves a

:06:55. > :06:59.chance of coming back. Thanks a lot. Heading into the warmth of that

:06:59. > :07:03.dressing room, it looked a little cold there, as he was talking to

:07:03. > :07:13.Tanya. Taking a look at some of the statistics from that first half,

:07:13. > :07:15.

:07:15. > :07:19.Look at the errors, Wales were four, England with eight. I wonder

:07:19. > :07:23.whether that is what Steve McNamara will concentrate on in his half-

:07:24. > :07:27.I think they will definitely be looking at the mistakes they have

:07:27. > :07:30.made, but on the other hand there has been some good stuff, and that

:07:30. > :07:34.is the disappointing thing for England, they want to get some

:07:35. > :07:39.momentum and grind it out, rather than rely on individual brilliance.

:07:39. > :07:43.Would you expect errors in your first game in a while? All right,

:07:43. > :07:47.you have had the warm weather in South Africa, but it takes time to

:07:47. > :07:50.click in the match situation. not think you are ever going to

:07:50. > :07:55.have that perfect first half when it is the first game back as a

:07:55. > :07:59.group since the exiles games. But every time we are down this end, on

:07:59. > :08:03.the Wales try-line, we are causing problems, a few opportunities

:08:03. > :08:07.missed, but we are putting pressure on, and the longer time we spend

:08:07. > :08:12.down here, we will certainly score more points. Wales will not be

:08:12. > :08:16.disheartened by that first 40 minutes. No, they will not be. One

:08:16. > :08:19.of the big things, when you have got a lot of players to play in the

:08:19. > :08:23.Championship against world-class players, you are worried about what

:08:23. > :08:28.they will bring to the game, so sometimes you give them a bit too

:08:28. > :08:32.much respect. I think that defensively, especially, when they

:08:32. > :08:35.have got England in their own 20, they are really aggressive and

:08:36. > :08:41.condense quite well. They get forward and the stifling them quite

:08:41. > :08:45.a bit, but when they get into their own half, their defence starts to

:08:45. > :08:48.become a little bit loose, and they tried to squash out and fix

:08:48. > :08:53.problems individually and not as a group. I think that is what Iestyn

:08:53. > :08:56.Harris will be talking about, let's do this together as a unit, not

:08:56. > :09:01.just when we are defending against their line, but when we are

:09:01. > :09:05.defending our own. We will look at the Welsh chances shortly, and how

:09:05. > :09:15.the debutant Scott on of England, but take us through the first try.

:09:15. > :09:16.

:09:16. > :09:22.one point we had eight defenders in the space of 15 metres. This

:09:22. > :09:26.creates a type of overlap. Only three defenders outside the post.

:09:26. > :09:31.This one inside the post tries to deal with it, he tries to get up

:09:31. > :09:36.too quickly, get in behind the back of them, creating three on two, the

:09:36. > :09:41.overlap, and Ryan Hall is very top to stop in that position. One on

:09:41. > :09:44.one, he has got the edge. He is a lot harder to stop in tight

:09:44. > :09:50.situations than that. It is nigh on impossible, when you get one-on-one

:09:50. > :09:54.with anybody, be just that to get his nose down. They mentioned that

:09:54. > :09:58.in commentary, that sometimes Wales are not moving inwards and leaving

:09:58. > :10:02.themselves exposed and stepping up maybe a little bit too keenly.

:10:02. > :10:08.think that is down to the Middle Unit. If our blokes in the Middle

:10:08. > :10:12.Park getting wins, the Welsh defence has to come tied up. That

:10:12. > :10:17.is the big focus for us, winning in the middle, because the Welsh team

:10:17. > :10:21.are a big pack, and it is going to be physical. If we can get the wins

:10:21. > :10:24.in the middle, their edges will have to come in. Not to blow our

:10:24. > :10:32.own trumpet, but we talked about how easy it is for England's kids

:10:32. > :10:36.to step up into the senior team because the Night's play the same

:10:36. > :10:42.system as the senior team. They have been fantastic, scoring tries

:10:42. > :10:46.is so easy off the back of it. is one of those times where it is

:10:46. > :10:51.three on two, and you have got a new debutante, Watkins, Josh

:10:51. > :10:54.Charnley get together. We saw the Welsh numbers getting a little bit

:10:54. > :10:58.out numbered, not working in unison with one another. The winner should

:10:58. > :11:01.have got a one-on-one with Kallum Watkins, and Josh Charnley was able

:11:02. > :11:06.to get the ball over the line. The young players are really trying to

:11:06. > :11:11.put a lot of pressure on the opposition. Putting pressure on

:11:11. > :11:18.these two guys next to make, think about this guy here, he has scored

:11:18. > :11:23.two tries playing in a position... It was all bat defence, that!

:11:23. > :11:28.Nothing to do with being that good! I will come to you for more

:11:28. > :11:32.diplomacy, he has been impressive, Zak Hardaker. I don't want to talk

:11:32. > :11:36.too highly, especially with Sam next to me, but that is what he has

:11:36. > :11:40.been like all DA, watching him all year, that is the position that Zak

:11:40. > :11:47.gets into, nobody could get out of that, we call in snake hips at

:11:47. > :11:52.Leeds, because he gets out of those situations. This is brilliance from

:11:52. > :11:58.Zak Hardaker, but interestingly, in all these tries, Robbie, we are

:11:58. > :12:01.seeing the senior guys involved in the build up. Gareth Hock, Sean

:12:01. > :12:07.O'Loughlin, Kevin Sinfield and vault, helping the new boys.

:12:07. > :12:11.Exactly right, they are doing what they do week-in, week-out. Gareth

:12:11. > :12:16.Hock pulls about three defenders to him, four trying to deal with him,

:12:16. > :12:19.and he creates the space in the Welsh defensive line, and that

:12:19. > :12:25.gives Zak Hardaker the minute space to get his body through. Then he

:12:25. > :12:29.can use that space to get over the try-line. I am sure Sam next to me

:12:29. > :12:35.were the same, if I had got into that space, I would have scored as

:12:35. > :12:38.well! You would have scored four by now! You really are trying to drop

:12:39. > :12:43.them in it! That looks like a very calm dressing room, some force of

:12:43. > :12:48.it is, we have got no reason to worry just yet. The last try was a

:12:48. > :12:52.scrappy 1, and they do happen in games, we will not worry too much

:12:52. > :12:55.about that, we have scored 26 points. If we come out and complete

:12:55. > :13:00.in the second half, I do not think the Welsh will stick with us for as

:13:00. > :13:04.long as they did in the first half. For the first 15 minutes, the Welsh

:13:04. > :13:07.defence stood up really well, but then we got straight through the

:13:07. > :13:11.middle and it paid off for us. Iestyn Harris talking to the Welsh

:13:11. > :13:16.lance, looking at the body language, they do not look too disheartened,

:13:16. > :13:21.and they should not be, because they did create chances. What would

:13:21. > :13:25.you put it down to? Maybe a lack of composure when looking for the

:13:25. > :13:29.killer touch? You could say it is a bit of that and also the English

:13:29. > :13:33.defence has been really good, and that is what we saw last week, a

:13:33. > :13:37.definite structure where they create opportunities and create a

:13:37. > :13:41.one-on-ones. Unfortunately, England are so strong in just about every

:13:41. > :13:44.area that Wales cannot break them down. Even when they get close,

:13:44. > :13:48.England managed to finish it themselves, just as Wales were

:13:48. > :13:53.doing against France last week. thought the figure was going to get

:13:53. > :13:59.clattered there. Something to look at here is the edge defence for

:13:59. > :14:02.England, the winger's doing a bit better than the Welsh have. We have

:14:02. > :14:08.probably scored in similar opportunities to what the Welsh

:14:08. > :14:18.have had, Josh Charnley and Adrian Morley, catching the ball on the

:14:18. > :14:27.

:14:27. > :14:31.bit guilty of working individually but, we have just seen five shots

:14:31. > :14:36.where they are working brilliantly together, creating space. They have

:14:36. > :14:46.not been able to finish. They will take heart from the try at the end?

:14:46. > :14:54.

:14:54. > :15:00.signed with Giants this week. They have taken an opportunity. If they

:15:00. > :15:06.can get over the try-line, they could score more points. Wales, six,

:15:06. > :15:14.England, 26 at half-time. A little bit of hope for the Welsh? The I'm

:15:14. > :15:18.not so sure about hope. OK, a confidence boost? They did break

:15:18. > :15:23.down the English defence. They created opportunities. I think they

:15:23. > :15:28.would like to take a few more of them. He plays bad cop to my good

:15:28. > :15:32.cop, because he will put you on the spot and ask to the difficult stuff.

:15:32. > :15:40.I will put up a picture of you winning the man of Steel. What does

:15:40. > :15:43.this mean of does to you? A massive honour. You don't think about it

:15:43. > :15:52.through the year and at the end of the air, I got the letter saying

:15:52. > :15:56.I'm in the top three. That was enough for me. -- year. That makes

:15:56. > :16:04.it so much special. You want to impress your peers more than

:16:04. > :16:09.anything. A massive one-off. -- honour. What was it like getting

:16:09. > :16:14.the trophy off Bradley Wiggins, the biggest superstar in British sport?

:16:14. > :16:17.It made it all the more special. I've met Bradley a few times and

:16:17. > :16:22.he's certainly a character but I think what he's done for British

:16:22. > :16:31.sport in the last 12 months, it's unbelievable. Not only the Tour de

:16:31. > :16:37.France but the Olympic gold, he's smartly dressed as well. Do you go

:16:37. > :16:45.home and look in the mirror after you win man of Steel and go, "I am

:16:45. > :16:50.not the man of Steel." Definitely not, no. I'm not going to say it on

:16:50. > :16:56.TV, anyway. You obviously want to be part of the Rugby World Cup

:16:56. > :17:00.which starts in 12 months' time. You were part of the launch. Did it

:17:00. > :17:04.get the excitement going? Yes, it's one of those things you don't think

:17:04. > :17:10.about the year before the event, but the profile of it just seems to

:17:10. > :17:12.have been raised massively. They were trying to do things

:17:12. > :17:19.differently and this is an opportunity in England are to make

:17:19. > :17:25.a massive go of it. I'm excited already. October 26th, double-

:17:25. > :17:29.header at Cardiff, I think it's going to be absolutely brilliant.

:17:29. > :17:36.The players are out, ready to go for the second half. Wales have

:17:36. > :17:41.some work to do. 26-6 at half-time. Let's rejoin the commentators.

:17:41. > :17:46.COMMENTATOR: Thank you. The best aspect of Wales's performance to

:17:46. > :17:49.France last weekend is their play in the second half. They tightened

:17:49. > :17:56.up the game all over the pitch and they need to do the same here in

:17:56. > :18:05.Wrexham. Yes, they do, but getting down here is a big factor for them.

:18:05. > :18:08.They do have the breeze. They will have spoken up at half-time, so if

:18:08. > :18:12.they take advantage of that, they can add some pressure from better

:18:12. > :18:22.field position. At least they have a good stiff breeze behind them

:18:22. > :18:23.

:18:23. > :18:32.there, add we hope the Welsh lads will are used their kicks to good

:18:32. > :18:38.be disciplined. You have got to work the tackle but also work

:18:38. > :18:44.within the rules and, unfortunately, an early penalty. Not a great start.

:18:44. > :18:50.Altitude training in South Africa, 12 months ahead of the forthcoming

:18:50. > :18:56.World Cup. I must confess, England do look sharper. If that's the case,

:18:56. > :19:01.we should get on a plane after us and check it out. The only

:19:01. > :19:07.consolation is, this stand is called the altitude stand, would

:19:07. > :19:12.you believe? I think it's meant to tavern people up tonight. Good

:19:12. > :19:21.running. Terrific running there. Here is a chance pulls it gets the

:19:21. > :19:25.ball out. There is a second for Ryan Hall. No problem at for the

:19:25. > :19:32.wing man. Easy touchdown, but the running was made in mid- field and

:19:32. > :19:39.it was quite some running. If you look at Ryan Hall's body language

:19:39. > :19:46.there, he thinks it's the best and easiest try he's ever scored. A

:19:46. > :19:56.rampaging bull. In between two feeble tackles. No shoulder contact.

:19:56. > :19:56.

:19:56. > :20:00.Both grabbing. Leroy Cudjoe's execution really got on to this. I

:20:00. > :20:05.thought he should have passed to Rob Burrow on the inside. When

:20:05. > :20:12.Leroy Cudjoe was in the tackle, he was thinking about how could he get

:20:13. > :20:22.it to his winger. His awareness is right. That's what happens. You

:20:23. > :20:32.

:20:32. > :20:39.can't muscle up on Gareth Hock. He in the first minutes of the second

:20:39. > :20:45.half, 32-6. Their ability to come back inside and dominate the

:20:45. > :20:50.defender. He giggled and said, I wouldn't mind scoring more tries

:20:50. > :20:54.like that in rugby league. Is it Kevin Sinfield one of the best

:20:54. > :21:03.kickers you have ever seen? Certainly one of the most

:21:03. > :21:08.consistent. One of the most consistent was a player from Wigan.

:21:08. > :21:12.He very rarely seems to miss from the touchline, Kevin Sinfield.

:21:12. > :21:16.There's has up and a couple of times to England today. When they

:21:16. > :21:21.have scored, they have come up with an error in the next set. A bad

:21:21. > :21:31.habit. They did it just on half time. Nice little moved to the

:21:31. > :21:46.

:21:46. > :21:56.blind side but it was carefully It does show a passion on the pack

:21:56. > :22:24.

:22:24. > :22:27.to get into it, a but it's easy to little bit of a knock their four

:22:28. > :22:36.Matt Seamark, limping back to the line. In trouble to the left of our

:22:36. > :22:41.screens. A couple of minutes from the line. Twisting, turning, as the

:22:41. > :22:48.modern front row does, just to get over. Good attacking here. Will

:22:48. > :22:58.that be another set of six? It should be now. A little bit of luck

:22:58. > :23:19.

:23:19. > :23:29.there for Wales. Some body down. down and on to the pitch. And it is

:23:29. > :23:31.

:23:31. > :23:34.Danny Jones, I think. It is indeed. Looking a little bit groggy. Steve

:23:34. > :23:37.McNamara and it'll be disappointed with some dropped balls from is the

:23:37. > :23:41.side and a defensive work. He says the concentration levels are not

:23:41. > :23:44.where they should be. He's told them to cut out the penalties and

:23:44. > :23:49.sharpen up on their execution. Iestyn Harris, individual errors

:23:49. > :23:54.are costing his team. He is happy, though, they are competitive and

:23:54. > :24:04.has asked them to tighten up and put a show on for this home crowd.

:24:04. > :24:13.

:24:13. > :24:23.see if there was an advantage there. I am not sure where he played it to

:24:23. > :24:23.

:24:23. > :24:31.their runners are in front of the ball, and their timing needs to be

:24:31. > :24:39.better to execute. Good ball out there now. Christiaan Roets, 10

:24:39. > :24:49.years in the rugby league game in Wales. Many as an amateur. Good

:25:00. > :25:04.bustling work there. Can Wales get it? No, says the referee. Yes, he

:25:04. > :25:11.does. A little bit late on his decision. Having a little think

:25:11. > :25:21.about it, possibly. Another said of 6 for Wales. Neil Budworth having a

:25:21. > :25:38.

:25:38. > :25:45.go himself. -- another set of 6 for about the weight of possession from

:25:45. > :25:54.the England team. A lot of knock down ball there. Some poor standing

:25:54. > :26:01.in the England players. Also some poor execution. Two minutes before

:26:01. > :26:11.half-time, a try, after half-time, the kick-off caused the problem and

:26:11. > :26:15.

:26:15. > :26:21.then continue well six. -- continual six. His footwork comes

:26:21. > :26:25.back on the inside. He is big and strong, Daniel. He was instrumental

:26:25. > :26:31.in their first try and scored their second. Two tries in five minutes

:26:31. > :26:37.for the Welsh. In a sense, Ian, you could criticise and talk about this

:26:37. > :26:44.and that, but it's all about scoring points, isn't it? When they

:26:44. > :26:54.are down there, it could come back to them. Matt Seamark might come

:26:54. > :27:13.

:27:13. > :27:17.the noise from the Welsh, they are enjoying this little period here.

:27:17. > :27:22.That of international rugby league is all about. Look at the smile on

:27:22. > :27:26.his face. He feels 10 ft tall there. He has been out of the game for

:27:26. > :27:31.three months and that was his first game back last week. He has done

:27:31. > :27:38.themselves proud in the last two games, Daniel. He was looking for

:27:38. > :27:42.the knock-on but it was well taken. Now then, can Wales get down to the

:27:42. > :27:49.end of the pitch? England's territory dropped it down to 51%.

:27:49. > :27:54.That's not bad. When you're not the better team, you can't give it up

:27:54. > :28:00.on tackle one, 20 metres from your Lynagh. We saw the consequences for

:28:00. > :28:05.England when they did it. -- on your line. You can get conference

:28:21. > :28:37.

:28:37. > :28:41.communication there between Ritchie Myler and Leroy Cudjoe. We were

:28:41. > :28:45.talking about Sean O'Loughlin, not with a groin injury. They had

:28:45. > :28:49.decided not to risk him in second half. They were getting back to

:28:49. > :28:57.camp next week and assess him to see if he will be ready next week.

:28:57. > :29:07.Thanks, Tanya. Sean O'Loughlin, a long-serving Great Britain player

:29:09. > :29:15.just compete in a testimonial with some of their possession they gave

:29:15. > :29:21.up. That was highlighted. It lacked intensity in the passing and the

:29:21. > :29:31.catching. It was a bit nonchalant. They need to beat up there with

:29:31. > :29:41.

:29:41. > :29:51.their actions there. Kick charged ball is so slow, the kick is under

:29:51. > :29:59.

:29:59. > :30:07.pressure, that is the third charge number 12, Gareth Ellis goes in. It

:30:07. > :30:12.all came courtesy of that charge down. Oh, you will be tearing your

:30:12. > :30:20.hair out if you are Iestyn Harris here, because the ruck before the

:30:20. > :30:23.kick, they are dominating, then so in Super League the average length

:30:23. > :30:28.of the play-the-ball is about four seconds, this is nearly seven or

:30:29. > :30:32.eight. What is happening is, England get their markers around,

:30:32. > :30:37.their players create so much pressure, and they have had so many

:30:37. > :30:43.charge Downs. What that creates his position, the airline is struggling

:30:43. > :30:46.to stay together, have a little bit of faith in each other. Because

:30:46. > :30:50.Kevin Sinfield is one of the best at squaring the defence up and

:30:50. > :30:55.getting a one-on-one with Gallas or Gareth Hock, and that is where they

:30:55. > :31:00.have been too strong, it is the kicking game that has really hurt

:31:00. > :31:10.them. -- Gareth Ellis. This is his chance for his fourth try for

:31:10. > :31:18.

:31:19. > :31:23.England and another goal chance for blowing in his face, it does not

:31:23. > :31:27.make any difference, the ball is straight between the uprights, and

:31:27. > :31:32.England were about a little bit further, 38-12. The other thing

:31:32. > :31:36.from the charge down, it is hard to get your offensive line Reset,

:31:36. > :31:41.everyone in position, and the ruck comes so quick. That is something

:31:41. > :31:45.they have got to work on, how they are going to play the ball with

:31:45. > :31:49.speed and Wear. Sinfield has definitely got some great composure,

:31:49. > :31:56.he has got the space and time to square people up, and the

:31:56. > :32:01.ammunition on the outside of them, those two giant back rowers. It is

:32:01. > :32:06.a very powerful back row for England, very mobile and very big.

:32:06. > :32:11.It is the size, and they are usually running at a smaller person,

:32:11. > :32:16.Hock and Flemming had a little bit of a... That is what forwards are

:32:16. > :32:26.all about. That was a high tackle, that is not what it is all about,

:32:26. > :32:54.

:32:54. > :32:59.giving a penalty away and 30 or 40 is good tackling, well held,

:32:59. > :33:09.because that was a very powerful run down that right hand side.

:33:09. > :33:17.

:33:17. > :33:23.Desperate defence from Wales. Somebody is in at the corner there.

:33:23. > :33:30.It is Josh Charnley. Very good movement of the ball on the short

:33:30. > :33:34.side, using the little gap that was seen, and Josh Charnley is in for

:33:34. > :33:38.his second of the match. A perfect example of getting your numbers

:33:38. > :33:43.right against the opposition, and they anticipate the big shift, but

:33:43. > :33:47.they come back down the short side. Because the winger came in to try

:33:47. > :33:57.and help his centre, once he was able to spin and turn, we had

:33:57. > :34:01.Charnley and Mark once again -- and marked. His awareness and skill

:34:01. > :34:06.levels, look at the pass by Rob Burrow, and the ability straight

:34:07. > :34:13.away. I think that was Sinfield for Ellis, the ability to ease back

:34:13. > :34:20.into the defensive line and spin and turn was outstanding. Just too

:34:20. > :34:28.big and strong in defence, not getting it right. Kevin Sinfield

:34:28. > :34:34.just setting his sights on that crossbar. Ian was asking me about

:34:34. > :34:41.goal kickers, and I must confess, I think Bernard Ganly of old, in the

:34:42. > :34:46.1950s, was a prolific scorer. And my old colleague, Liam Killeen. But

:34:46. > :34:52.here is infield with another from the touchline, has there been a

:34:52. > :34:58.better goalkicker from the touchline?! I cannot think of one!

:34:58. > :35:03.We talk about the game of knowing how to turn four into sex, and we

:35:03. > :35:10.talk about rugby league defensively, the ability to stick and hold until

:35:10. > :35:15.help comes, and he was able to get that pass. The winger's' positional

:35:15. > :35:19.play was eventually found out. This is a big set for England, because

:35:19. > :35:25.they have come up with some errors, and they are looking for a big set

:35:25. > :35:28.here. It is an even bigger set in defence for Wales, and there is a

:35:28. > :35:38.chance of England ripping them are part if they give them too much

:35:38. > :35:54.

:35:54. > :36:04.not saying anything! He had a lot of options, Kallum Watkins, he had

:36:04. > :36:06.

:36:06. > :36:10.a lot of numbers, but they have the sun was in his eyes. There were

:36:11. > :36:14.too many players he could have passed the ball too! That is the

:36:14. > :36:19.excuse we are making for him. Perhaps Tanya Arnold has a word

:36:19. > :36:22.about that, too. I have got Rangi Chase, who we thought was ruled out

:36:22. > :36:30.for the whole of the autumn internationals, but might you be

:36:30. > :36:35.back? I could be back, I just have to wait. I have just got to pass a

:36:35. > :36:40.few fit his tests and training and put myself board for next week.

:36:40. > :36:45.must be chomping at the bit. I get more nervous watching, I would

:36:45. > :36:48.rather the at there. It looks like a lot of fun. No-one likes watching.

:36:48. > :36:53.Confirmation you are staying at Castleford, have pleased to get

:36:53. > :36:57.that sorted out? Really pleased, because for me and my family, it

:36:57. > :37:01.has been on our minds for the last few months, which has been a bit

:37:01. > :37:04.stressful. You know, it did not work out, and I have always been

:37:04. > :37:09.happy to stay at Castleford, and I cannot wait to have a good start to

:37:09. > :37:14.the season and hopefully get to where we should be. Hopefully we

:37:14. > :37:18.will see you next week, chisels of I hope so, thank you, goodbye.

:37:18. > :37:28.Rangi Chase is one of the many possible to was available for

:37:39. > :37:44.selection for this match, lots of not seen his characteristic -- is

:37:44. > :37:47.from half-back, he must be playing under instructions. The play the

:37:47. > :37:52.ball has been a bit untidy, because they have struggled to get the

:37:52. > :37:56.numbers in, the Welsh, and it has been a better option to shift the

:37:56. > :38:06.Paul to the player coming on to it because there is based on the edge.

:38:06. > :38:08.

:38:08. > :38:12.characteristic runs from half-back, but that is a characteristic drive

:38:12. > :38:16.from the little man underneath the posts, England score again, and a

:38:17. > :38:21.chance for Sinfield to bring up 50 points. Ray, you mentioned that he

:38:21. > :38:26.has not made a lot of runs, but the mat of times I have watched him of

:38:26. > :38:32.the ball, he has always been on the inside. If we look at Hardaker's

:38:32. > :38:38.try, Barrault was on the inside. His ability to pass. This was a

:38:38. > :38:42.classic runner from Hock. Look how straight he runs. He is a natural

:38:42. > :38:49.player, Gareth, not all big players have the ability to come up with a

:38:49. > :38:54.good quality pass, but he does it often. Once you get Gareth Square,

:38:54. > :38:58.if he is one on one, it is going to be too hard. That is where Rob

:38:58. > :39:06.Burrow is great, if you look at where he plays for his club team,

:39:06. > :39:12.linking up with Kevin Sinfield, there is that element of a great

:39:12. > :39:16.player. Two points from Kevin Sinfield. We talk about his size,

:39:16. > :39:24.his ability to get down low, a big man does not like having to defend

:39:25. > :39:28.against a guy like this. I have got to say, that had to be a good pass,

:39:28. > :39:35.because Gareth Hock was like a runaway train, I would not like to

:39:35. > :39:39.be the Welsh defender on the edge. Well, Iestyn Harris might not look

:39:39. > :39:43.too happy, but we have got to say that this is a Welsh side in

:39:43. > :39:47.development. It is a very young side, not our lot of Super League

:39:47. > :39:52.players in it. They are looking ahead to 12 months' time and

:39:52. > :39:59.hopefully playing in that side then. If you are going to be in the

:39:59. > :40:03.contest, oh, look at Hock. He is running rampant at the moment. 60%

:40:03. > :40:07.position for England, look at all the statistics where Wales are

:40:07. > :40:17.behind, and on top of that the wear and tear, full-time professionals,

:40:17. > :40:36.

:40:36. > :40:46.bigger and stronger, it is going to this? Can they use possession here?

:40:46. > :40:55.

:40:55. > :41:01.and next Saturday, of course, we will have England and France live

:41:01. > :41:10.from Hull. That is the first meeting of the two in his Tri

:41:10. > :41:16.Nations, France already defeated Wales last week 20-6. That is a

:41:16. > :41:21.good high kick, well taken. That will be a tap on the 20 metre line.

:41:21. > :41:31.Quickly-taken, too, look at who is taking it, the man who caught it,

:41:31. > :41:43.

:41:44. > :41:53.game, that is a good tackle on Leroy Cudjoe, who had no chance to

:42:34. > :42:37.handover. They are really fighting. -- flagging. I think what the

:42:37. > :42:41.viewers have got to appreciate, there are lot of part-time players

:42:41. > :42:48.in his Wales side to cannot match the fitness levels of his England

:42:49. > :42:58.full-time Scott. No, as I heave same, they have got numbers over

:42:59. > :43:05.

:43:05. > :43:09.again? Yes, he is, no hesitation from Thierry Alibert, and I make

:43:09. > :43:13.that a hat-trick of tries for Josh Charnley on his debut, certainly

:43:13. > :43:18.bringing his Super League form with them. 31 is Super League this

:43:18. > :43:23.season, he has delighted as a young man. Not a lot of distance to run,

:43:23. > :43:26.but you have to take opportunities like that. He is a prolific try-

:43:26. > :43:32.scorer. They are trying to manufacture something that they do

:43:32. > :43:40.not need to. They just need to make the sets of six, they get rumbled

:43:40. > :43:44.in the middle of the ruck area, and Sinfield is very good and Richie

:43:44. > :43:50.Myler. Mossop has got the ability to pass it, and straightaway

:43:50. > :43:54.Watkins, big and tall, Charnley says, I would say that all day, he

:43:54. > :43:58.finds the line. They had the ball, of Wales, on tackle two, and they

:43:58. > :44:04.are the ones who gave it up. They needed that to stay in the contest,

:44:14. > :44:18.

:44:18. > :44:22.Sinfield enjoying his first match touchline. -- K Keen. That is the

:44:22. > :44:26.problem, he turns the fours in two sixes. Everything is so quick at

:44:26. > :44:30.the moment, the defenders are not together, they have got more

:44:30. > :44:34.numbers than England, but because they cannot get their line set, it

:44:34. > :44:38.is all happening so quick, they do not know what their roles are and

:44:38. > :44:41.their communication has been breaking down immensely because of

:44:51. > :44:58.

:44:58. > :45:08.wanting to run with this ball. They can sense of there are a few gaps,

:45:08. > :45:17.

:45:17. > :45:27.there's an opportunity to make a but thought better of it. All the

:45:45. > :45:55.time, sapping the energy and the want any slip-ups here now. That is

:45:55. > :46:03.a highly kick. It's a difficult one to take. That will be a freak try,

:46:03. > :46:10.surely for Leroy Cudjoe. Was he offside? When you leave a rugby

:46:10. > :46:15.ball to bounce like that, anything can happen. Whether he was onside,

:46:15. > :46:22.the video referee will take a look. I reckon that you are spot-on,

:46:59. > :47:05.

:47:05. > :47:15.here is the difference in the play of the ball, but the time a Ritchie

:47:15. > :47:17.

:47:27. > :47:34.

:47:34. > :47:39.his 9th of the afternoon. I keep coming back at the moment, to the

:47:39. > :47:46.wear and tear. There's a mixture of Super League championships,

:47:46. > :47:52.championship one guys, from lower divisions in Australia. They are

:47:52. > :47:57.just really struggling, and because of that, they can't control the

:48:00. > :48:10.England team look fresh as daisies are but the Welsh are absolutely

:48:10. > :48:17.off their feet. Wales need the ball desperately. And they need to come

:48:17. > :48:23.up with a good kick. You can see the thought process on the Welsh.

:48:23. > :48:33.Offload are. Straight away, we are just trying to hang in there every

:48:33. > :48:39.

:48:39. > :48:49.Burrow gets when he goes forward. Kevin Sinfield and Gareth Hock with

:48:49. > :48:55.

:49:05. > :49:12.

:49:12. > :49:17.bounce will stop it has come off Ritchie Myler. When he looked over

:49:17. > :49:27.to his right and then kicked it back to his left, there will be a

:49:27. > :49:39.

:49:39. > :49:46.call there. He has dropped that. It complaining that he was being held

:49:46. > :49:56.down there. Jourdan James, trying to get some movement their in

:49:56. > :50:04.

:50:04. > :50:14.midfield. This is better now. Good Burke, the scorpions prop. Charged

:50:14. > :50:20.

:50:20. > :50:30.down there. This is so easy. This How many kicks of Wales had charged

:50:30. > :50:31.

:50:31. > :50:39.down? Four or five. It might be viable six. Even more. -- it might

:50:39. > :50:43.be five or six. They need to slow the momentum down. Whatever. Unless

:50:43. > :50:53.you can finish off with quality, you can't start the defence off

:50:53. > :50:57.

:50:57. > :51:01.kick. We talk about his great execution in attack and his ability

:51:01. > :51:07.to give space for people but those are the things players want.

:51:07. > :51:12.Putting pressure on. Reviewing that as a coach, you want to show the

:51:12. > :51:22.great action by Kevin Sinfield. How did we get the ball? Because the

:51:22. > :51:39.

:51:39. > :51:45.trying to do the same kick. Kick back to the writer but the

:51:45. > :51:55.execution was nowhere near as good because of the pressure. The

:51:55. > :52:14.

:52:14. > :52:19.England journey. I remember four tries from Danny Schofield and

:52:19. > :52:25.Billy Boston, playing for Great Britain but four tries for England

:52:25. > :52:35.there, that something. Gareth Hock is rampant now. He doesn't get it

:52:35. > :52:40.

:52:40. > :52:46.did not like that. Gareth is a great player. He allows himself to

:52:46. > :52:53.be pulled into situations like that. When his team had the advantage,

:52:53. > :52:58.the good work he did, the momentum, the other guy from Wales did not do

:52:58. > :53:06.anything wrong. Now there is a situation, the same as a Test match,

:53:06. > :53:16.Challenge Cup final. He could go off. You lose possession. He just

:53:16. > :53:37.

:53:37. > :53:44.the playground. Calm down, says Kevin Sinfield. You've had too much

:53:44. > :53:54.of a good game to get involved in things like that. A penalty given

:53:54. > :54:04.to England. As it would have been initially. The BAF. -- yes. He says

:54:04. > :54:08.

:54:08. > :54:18.he did not push him in the ruck to talent awards -- challenged --

:54:18. > :54:18.

:54:18. > :54:22.channelled towards his talent. terrific ball, that. Jamie Jones-

:54:22. > :54:28.Buchanan took it beautifully. Obviously rehearsed on the practice

:54:28. > :54:32.ground in South Africa. There is a Welsh defence absolutely ripped

:54:32. > :54:38.apart in midfield. Great running from Jamie Jones-Buchanan and yet

:54:38. > :54:48.another try for England. They are queueing up now. There's plenty of

:54:48. > :54:54.

:54:54. > :54:59.body in motion. Look at the perfect. He expects the ball on the

:54:59. > :55:06.inside shoulder of the defenders. He even had the audacity to step

:55:06. > :55:16.around the full-back. And get his first try. Six points, then, for

:55:16. > :55:21.England. 74-12 now. We must look at the man of the match. This could

:55:21. > :55:25.get more dangerous at the moment. Charlie scored four tries and I

:55:25. > :55:31.don't want a sound boring, but the bloke who has been outstanding in

:55:32. > :55:36.attack, created space, and his effort as captain is Kevin Sinfield.

:55:36. > :55:42.He has been a real leader. He should be the man of the match and

:55:42. > :55:48.is. He will celebrate that on his first captaincy. Story deserved. He

:55:48. > :55:53.has been leading leads to all the honours in recent seasons. -- Leeds.

:55:53. > :55:59.He fully deserves a today. I've watched it a Matthew times of the

:55:59. > :56:07.ball. Encouraging defence. Dashed I've watched him a few times on the

:56:07. > :56:17.ball, encouraging defence. He has not relented. He has communicated

:56:17. > :56:26.

:56:26. > :56:32.running. Selfless play there by Ritchie Myler. He gives it to Leroy

:56:32. > :56:35.Cudjoe, and he gets another. The 14th try for England this afternoon.

:56:35. > :56:45.The crowd are booing at the moment and it's still great to see the

:56:45. > :56:54.

:56:54. > :57:00.Welsh crowd are active behind their Kevin Sinfield dummies him. It has

:57:00. > :57:05.gone back. Did it come off Michael McIlorum, and was in front of it,

:57:05. > :57:13.Ritchie Myler? I know it doesn't affect anything here but we are

:57:13. > :57:20.being pedantic with the score. He is kicking that quick now. He has

:57:20. > :57:28.kicked it while you are admiring this video here. He is confusing me

:57:29. > :57:38.and the scoreboard operator. We may could 80-12. The scoreboard

:57:39. > :57:45.

:57:45. > :57:51.two attempts at GCSE maths balls that I make it 80-12, anyway.

:57:51. > :57:58.not going to argue with you, raised. We have seen a lot of kick-offs and

:57:58. > :58:08.errors from the kick-off from both teams. It's quite swirling now,

:58:08. > :58:17.

:58:17. > :58:26.than the 74 points-0 at the keeper stadium, a date I can remember back

:58:26. > :58:31.in 1978. 60-13 for England against Wales at St Helens. But, well,

:58:31. > :58:41.let's see if Wales can pull a few points back in this last minute or

:58:41. > :58:51.

:58:51. > :59:01.they have kept going all the while. Let's remember, Iestyn Harris he

:59:01. > :59:02.

:59:02. > :59:07.knew he had a lot of work to do forward in the World Cup in 12

:59:08. > :59:17.months' time. A good running here. That was a chance. Just couldn't

:59:18. > :59:35.

:59:35. > :59:41.they get it in? The seconds ticking of the game. There is the hooter.

:59:41. > :59:50.Last play. Can we getting? Still keeps the ball moving. No, it's all

:59:50. > :59:54.over. team. Let's hope for better to come,

:59:54. > :00:01.but said leave for England and Steve McNamara, a very, very good

:00:01. > :00:05.game. He has learned something he already knew, but he's got some

:00:05. > :00:09.very talented players and when they are under less pressure they can

:00:09. > :00:15.display their skills. Of their ability to step up to the nation's

:00:15. > :00:19.will pose greater questions for France, and Australia. The Welsh

:00:19. > :00:24.know they have got some work to do but they need to be more consistent

:00:24. > :00:34.and make sure that what they do with it ensures they do less

:00:34. > :00:42.

:00:42. > :00:47.tackling. 14 tries for England. 12 Steve McNamara, how happy are you

:00:47. > :00:50.with that performance? Very happy, we have come back from our

:00:50. > :00:55.preparations, and for a large part of that game we practised a lot of

:00:55. > :00:58.things we wanted to do. We were not perfect, we put ourselves under

:00:58. > :01:03.pressure, and you can see the ability within that young team,

:01:04. > :01:09.promising signs. They are a very young team, and they can move the

:01:09. > :01:13.ball. Very exciting, people like Josh Charnley, Leroy Cudjoe, Kallum

:01:13. > :01:16.Watkins, we have got some ammunition now, and we have always

:01:16. > :01:21.been strong in other areas, but we are starting to build some depth

:01:21. > :01:24.now, and we will face tougher challenges than that, but in terms

:01:25. > :01:28.of direction and movement, very good. What would you like to see

:01:28. > :01:32.them build on for next week? have got a lot more to come, some

:01:32. > :01:38.boys who have not had some game time yet, and we may look at one of

:01:38. > :01:40.two of those. If we have a spell like we did in the first and at the

:01:40. > :01:45.start of the second half, when we dropped intensity, against better

:01:45. > :01:50.teams we will come unstuck. More level across the board, but very

:01:50. > :01:56.harsh, they have been outstanding today. Thanks very much, Josh

:01:56. > :02:01.Charnley, four tries on your debut, pretty good stuff! Yeah, it was

:02:01. > :02:05.late getting picked the team and making my first England cap.

:02:05. > :02:11.Anybody who was watched your video, along with Zak, will know you are

:02:11. > :02:15.enjoying the England experience. Yeah, it is good. When you play

:02:15. > :02:19.week-in, week-out, you try to rip each other's heads off, but as an

:02:20. > :02:26.England squad, you have in bond, so it is good what we do at side of

:02:26. > :02:33.rugby, and that will carry on over me. What can we look forward to in

:02:33. > :02:37.episode three? I cannot say, you will have to say! Everyone has been

:02:37. > :02:41.lacking on cuddles it. No-one is coming round. After that, you have

:02:41. > :02:45.to score a few tries to stop people from revenue too much. I am not

:02:45. > :02:50.bothered, I can take the abuse, but it has been special today and I am

:02:51. > :02:54.pretty proud, yeah, so it has been good. Man-of-the-match Kevin

:02:54. > :02:58.Sinfield, this is your trophy for being the man of the match, you

:02:58. > :03:02.must have enjoyed your first game as skipper. Yeah, really enjoyed it,

:03:02. > :03:06.representing a country is, you know, the highest honour you can have, so

:03:06. > :03:10.to be able to leave them out today was awesome, proud day for myself

:03:10. > :03:14.and my family. The most pleasing thing is the result at the end, I

:03:14. > :03:19.thought we played some decent stuff. A lot for us to work on, but we

:03:19. > :03:24.made some strides today, and we won't get that as the competition

:03:24. > :03:28.goes. You have seen most of what there is to see and rugby league,

:03:28. > :03:32.but was their extra nerves leading out your country? Not really, I was

:03:32. > :03:38.really looking forward to the game, I have got three weeks off...

:03:38. > :03:42.that is an eternity for you! were ready for this training in

:03:42. > :03:46.South Africa, the training camp there as well, so we just wanted to

:03:46. > :03:51.put a marker down today. There is loads for us to work on, but good

:03:51. > :03:55.to get a first result under our belt. 12 goals today, a goal-

:03:55. > :03:59.kicking does not often let you down. I was not so sure early on, I

:03:59. > :04:03.missed a couple, it was pretty windy, so thankfully I got it

:04:03. > :04:07.together as the game went on, but it was a decent team performance.

:04:08. > :04:11.We have got some real quality who did not make the squad today who

:04:11. > :04:15.are itching to play, and competition for places is tough.

:04:15. > :04:19.Another good week of training to fix things up and look forward to

:04:19. > :04:25.the French NXP. In that relations on a man-of-the-match performance.

:04:25. > :04:30.Zak Hardaker, a couple of tries, we saw Josh Charnley, DSPD new on the

:04:30. > :04:36.Tri States, does that mean you get a poor but in the videos? -- he has

:04:36. > :04:40.beaten you on the try And her stakes. It has been a difficult

:04:40. > :04:46.couple of weeks for us and difficult training, and it's just

:04:46. > :04:49.pays off when you do results like this. How did you find it, stepping

:04:50. > :04:54.up to the senior side customer kit is a challenge when you are faced

:04:54. > :04:58.with the big lads and the rest of the competition. I really enjoyed

:04:58. > :05:04.playing today. Are you hoping to keep your place for next week as to

:05:04. > :05:08.mark Sam Tomkins might be coming past. -- coming back. That is a

:05:08. > :05:18.problem for the coaches, or you can do is try your best and we will see

:05:18. > :05:32.

:05:32. > :05:35.what's next week brings. We look You talked about the difference

:05:36. > :05:41.between part-time and full-time players. You have got world-class

:05:41. > :05:45.players there, and we have got amateur players, boys whom are

:05:45. > :05:51.Under-20 years old. I am happy with the way they played, I am really

:05:51. > :06:01.proud of them, they played as well as they could. They could not do

:06:01. > :06:03.

:06:03. > :06:06.any more than that. What can you take out of the matches? We are

:06:06. > :06:10.building for the World Cup. It is hard to take stock out of that, but

:06:10. > :06:15.we have got to work on the lads coming through the system. Thank

:06:15. > :06:21.you for your time. He looks absolutely shattered, doesn't it,

:06:21. > :06:26.Ben Flower? I was taken with Josh Charnley's penalty, a subtle

:06:26. > :06:32.difference. England have beaten Wales by 80-12, a record number of

:06:32. > :06:36.points for England against Wales, 14 tries in total, nine in the

:06:36. > :06:43.second half, and England's top the group, they play the French next

:06:43. > :06:52.week. And they will be playing the French in the final in two weeks'

:06:52. > :07:02.time as well. This is for the sport coming your way on the BBC. -- This

:07:02. > :07:02.

:07:02. > :07:43.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 98 seconds

:07:43. > :07:47.England let rip in the second half, Sam, particularly that last 15

:07:47. > :07:51.minutes or so when they made their pace and power count. Yeah, I think

:07:51. > :07:55.one of the most promising things out of that is we do not take our

:07:55. > :07:59.pot off the gas. We were ruthless in the last 15 or 20 minutes. It

:07:59. > :08:03.would have been quite easy to take your foot of the gas when you are

:08:03. > :08:09.up by 50 points, but we stuck to our game plan, for the vast

:08:09. > :08:14.majority of that. We talked a lot about the debutants, four tries for

:08:15. > :08:18.Josh Charnley, is this an ideal game for them? I am not sure what

:08:18. > :08:22.an ideal game is, but what was ideal was the way they performed in

:08:22. > :08:26.the second half, starting to get forward in the middle of the park,

:08:26. > :08:32.creating a lot of space on the outside. Give us an appreciation of

:08:32. > :08:40.Josh Charnley. He is a quality player, isn't he? He get over that

:08:40. > :08:45.try-line, and he knows how to get toughest game of his life, but he

:08:45. > :08:49.is going to grow as a player, especially from this experience.

:08:49. > :08:53.did look very relaxed, or the debutants looked very relaxed.

:08:53. > :08:58.brilliant thing about Josh Charnley was how excited he was, Euclid here

:08:58. > :09:03.it in his voice at the end of the game, he was absolutely buzzing. --

:09:03. > :09:08.you could hear it. To score four tries in your debut Test appearance,

:09:08. > :09:12.that is a dream for any player, no matter what game you are playing.

:09:12. > :09:18.Steve McNamara, we heard him say that if there was one thing that

:09:18. > :09:21.concerned him about the game today, it was a period in the first half

:09:21. > :09:27.and at the start of the second where there was a drop off in

:09:27. > :09:30.intensity. The mistakes affect intensity, because you are trying

:09:30. > :09:34.to gain momentum by keeping the ball, making them run of their

:09:34. > :09:39.online, but they did not do that. The second half, they totally

:09:39. > :09:43.changed, and Wales could not get anywhere near. 13 errors in total,

:09:44. > :09:47.eight in the first half, so whatever he did say to them at

:09:47. > :09:55.half-time made a difference. think that is why he would have

:09:55. > :09:58.been most pleased. Is to provide England's approach in the game.

:09:58. > :10:02.Hock had an absolutely brilliant second half. Brilliant work by

:10:02. > :10:07.Cudjoe, not only does he get into position but create space for Ryan

:10:07. > :10:11.Hall to score this drive. He creates that extra space, Ryan Hall

:10:11. > :10:17.has never scored an easier try. They were very direct, Gareth Hock

:10:17. > :10:21.at the forefront of that. Yeah, he was, we are lucky that we have got

:10:21. > :10:25.Gareth Ellis on one side, Gareth Hock on the other, both big

:10:25. > :10:28.powerful blokes who will cause problems for any team. The Welsh

:10:28. > :10:34.struggled off their own line, defending four metres off their own

:10:34. > :10:37.line. You were explaining how difficult that is. If you are only

:10:37. > :10:44.four because off new line with somebody as big as Gareth Ellis, he

:10:44. > :10:47.is going to get over. Where has just had to get off their line a

:10:47. > :10:51.bit better than they did. With somebody that they are running fast,

:10:51. > :10:54.when you make contact, you will only complete the tackle four

:10:54. > :11:01.metres from contact, so it is always going to be tough. Wales

:11:01. > :11:05.never did give up. I think this is one of the clear as things we have

:11:05. > :11:10.been able to see, the change in line at that the forwards are

:11:10. > :11:13.running. I think we should be appreciative of what they are doing,

:11:13. > :11:20.creating space on the edge, and the reality is, as the England players

:11:20. > :11:24.are lot stronger, is that right? totally agree with that. You expect

:11:24. > :11:28.them to be able to match them early doors, but as soon as that energy

:11:28. > :11:32.get seed out of them, they cannot hold on to those tackles, and with

:11:32. > :11:38.Gareth Hock coming through, you cannot tackle him off the back of

:11:38. > :11:43.that. We will take a look at Dan Flemming's try, which Wales scored

:11:43. > :11:47.in the second half, but you have sympathy for the Welsh team? You

:11:47. > :11:51.know, they are playing against players who played in the NRL and

:11:51. > :11:55.Super League, and some of these guys are part-time. You have got to

:11:55. > :11:58.have sympathy, but you cannot knock their efforts levels. They are not

:11:58. > :12:02.quite good enough, it is the quality which is in doubt at the

:12:02. > :12:07.moment, but hopefully they will have the structures in place and

:12:07. > :12:10.can only get better. What will be the difference Challenge with the

:12:10. > :12:15.French? Presumably their physicality, they were physical

:12:15. > :12:18.against the French. Yes, Wales were physical against France, they

:12:18. > :12:22.matched them for the majority of the game, it was probably only 20

:12:22. > :12:28.minutes that decided that, probably the Wilstrop of a little bit. I

:12:28. > :12:35.think the Welsh, sorry, the French are a big, strong side, and if they

:12:35. > :12:38.keep moving, we need to stop them. Just thinking back to the French,

:12:38. > :12:41.they tried to beat Wales straight down the middle, but they did not

:12:41. > :12:45.support each other, and after a week of thinking about things a

:12:45. > :12:49.little bit, it will be a different task against England, and I think

:12:50. > :12:54.they will be a lot tougher than the world today. Apologies for the

:12:54. > :12:59.Tannoy, I think they probably heard him in England, let alone in the
