:00:46. > :00:52.Good afternoon. Welcome to Wigan. We thought this was meant to be a

:00:53. > :00:58.summer sport. It is horrible here. It is dark. It is damp. It is rainy.

:00:59. > :01:06.There is plenty of enthusiasm in the crowd. They are ready to go for a

:01:07. > :01:12.tote Liz Challenge Cup quarter final. -- Tetleys. We hope the two

:01:13. > :01:20.sides this afternoon light up the next couple of hours.

:01:21. > :01:45.Try! Oh, my word. Sam Tomkins, per curial genius. -- mercurial.

:01:46. > :02:03.What an off-load and Michael Shenton scores. A very good try.

:02:04. > :02:23.It should be a fascinating afternoon ahead here at the DW Stadium between

:02:24. > :02:28.Wigan, the cup holders, and Castleford, who have surprised many

:02:29. > :02:34.with their Super League performances this season. Got a team of experts

:02:35. > :02:37.ready to go to entertain you. We also want you to be involved as

:02:38. > :02:41.well. There you go, look at them! They are ready to entertain, let me

:02:42. > :02:43.tell you. We want you to be involved as well, though. Plenty of ways in

:02:44. > :03:09.which you can do that. # We have two games for you. Tomorrow

:03:10. > :03:15.we'll be on BBC Two as we see Bradford against Warrington.

:03:16. > :03:19.Brian noble, John Wilkin and Jamie Peacock alongside me for two hours

:03:20. > :03:22.or so. You think the weather could have an effect this afternoon. It

:03:23. > :03:27.has been lashing down. I'd like to hope it wouldn't, because both teams

:03:28. > :03:32.play really excellent rugby league football. But it slightly favours,

:03:33. > :03:35.the wet weather slightly restricts what Castleford would like to do.

:03:36. > :03:39.They will have to be more conservative. Wigan have the

:03:40. > :03:43.structure and game plan to be more conservative. Their systems will get

:03:44. > :03:47.them to the right parts of the field. Castleford like to take a

:03:48. > :03:52.chance with the ball and promote the ball around. That will inhibit It's

:03:53. > :03:56.going them. To be tight though. What's really interesting about

:03:57. > :04:01.today is that we have a team that attack fantastically well, that's

:04:02. > :04:05.Castleford. Daryl Powell deserves credit for how smart they're

:04:06. > :04:08.attacking, the bigger players releasing their speed. They're

:04:09. > :04:13.playing against the best defensive team, or one of the best in the

:04:14. > :04:16.competition. Wigan have only missed 290 tackles total this season in

:04:17. > :04:21.Super League. That's not a lot of missed tackles. It's interesting,

:04:22. > :04:25.great attack versus great defence. Let's bring in the Carl Froch of

:04:26. > :04:29.Super League, I said they were a surprise. I'm only saying that

:04:30. > :04:34.because he's a lot further away from me than from you! From a Castleford

:04:35. > :04:38.point of view, I did say they were a surprise package. Have they just

:04:39. > :04:43.built on how they ended last season? Yeah Daryl Powell came in, he had

:04:44. > :04:46.three months in preseason to build on his coaching, which is based

:04:47. > :04:51.around honesty and hard work. They have a huge squad. If you don't play

:04:52. > :04:55.well, you're out of the team. He also lets them play, lets every

:04:56. > :04:59.player play. There's not one player who hasn't got their license to pass

:05:00. > :05:04.or off-load, that's why they've scored a lot of points. Kickoff is

:05:05. > :05:08.2. 30pm. It is quarter final weekend in the Challenge Cup. We've had two

:05:09. > :05:15.quarter finals already, one of them was cracking. The other one less so.

:05:16. > :05:18.The Vikings put in a convincing performance against championship

:05:19. > :05:24.side Keithly. They made the most of every opportunity. They capitalised

:05:25. > :05:27.on a poor kick to put Tom Gilmore in for the first of the night. Despite

:05:28. > :05:31.not being selected for the England Koran Kevin Brown was instrumental

:05:32. > :05:33.in a solid performance, score twoing tries including an impressive

:05:34. > :05:37.50-metre dash tries including an impressive

:05:38. > :05:45.second. It was Brown's spectacular kicking game that created an age

:05:46. > :06:02.try. -- Eid try. -- eighth tie. kicking game that created an age

:06:03. > :06:03.Championship leaders put in a performance against the leads

:06:04. > :06:08.rhinos. performance against the leads

:06:09. > :06:14.The first points of the game went to the rhinos by Ryan Hall.

:06:15. > :06:19.But it didn't take long for them to bounce back. Tom Spencer

:06:20. > :06:24.But it didn't take long for them to Armstrong ran in two tries in four

:06:25. > :06:28.minutes. It was a stunned Leeds side who were outclassed with the second.

:06:29. > :06:33.A gutsy effort by the championship side, who kept the ball alive

:06:34. > :06:40.through a series of off-loads before Armstrong finished it off. Despite

:06:41. > :06:44.an impressive first-half performance, they were unable to

:06:45. > :06:49.stay on top. A converted try by Stevie Ward meant it was all square

:06:50. > :06:51.going into the break. A fight broke out in the opening minutes of the

:06:52. > :07:02.second half, which resulted in man of the match Jamie Peacock being

:07:03. > :07:07.shown a yellow card. It was Oliver Wilkes what came close to claiming

:07:08. > :07:11.the lead, but it was a missed opportunity, as he dropped the ball

:07:12. > :07:15.over the line. Any dreams of a semifinal place was shattered by the

:07:16. > :07:20.Rhinos in the closing seven minutes. With the prospect of extra time

:07:21. > :07:27.looming it was Robbie Ward who snatched victory for the Rhinos with

:07:28. > :07:40.a try in the 73rd minute. A drop goal came minutes later. And Zach

:07:41. > :07:44.Hardacre sealed the win. Let's deal with the match itself,

:07:45. > :07:50.shall we, Jamie. They gave you a real, real tough test last night.

:07:51. > :07:54.Yeah it was a very difficult game. Full credit to them. It's the most

:07:55. > :07:57.difficult game I've had against opposition outside the Super League.

:07:58. > :08:01.They had a lot of flair with the ball. They were committed. At the

:08:02. > :08:06.end of the game, they were gutted they had lost. They didn't come just

:08:07. > :08:11.to They are compete. Ready for super. You can't stop laughing. I

:08:12. > :08:14.just want to get to the good stuff. They are ready for Super League.

:08:15. > :08:17.Yeah they are. It's an important game, last night, we have the new

:08:18. > :08:20.structure coming in next year, promotion and relegation is coming

:08:21. > :08:26.back. Everybody in the game was just holding their breath and hoping

:08:27. > :08:29.Leigh could make the game competitive. It was fascinating to

:08:30. > :08:33.watch and a good example of what the championship can produce, some

:08:34. > :08:38.great, young players. Do you want to see the good stuff. We all want to

:08:39. > :08:46.see it. You weren't man of the match, Jamie. What happened? If you

:08:47. > :08:50.head butt someone, there's normally repercussions. You asked me earlier

:08:51. > :08:54.if I was rattled. That's me cool, calm and collected to be honest. I

:08:55. > :09:00.thought you held it together quite well. What due say at the end? I

:09:01. > :09:08.said, leave it out on the field, mate. There's a lot of respect for

:09:09. > :09:12.the way they played. That's the best thing about our game, you can have

:09:13. > :09:16.that situation and it doesn't get carried on. We just get on with

:09:17. > :09:19.things. That's why JP has been a great ambassador for the sport all

:09:20. > :09:23.these years. It's important that we prove to you that we may have

:09:24. > :09:29.fighters, but we can be lovers as well. Take a look at what has

:09:30. > :09:35.happened here. Not literally, but here at the DW Stadium, there has

:09:36. > :09:40.been a wedding today between Allen and Kelly Barlow. They booked the

:09:41. > :09:45.venue before they knew there was a Challenge Cup quarter final here.

:09:46. > :09:50.They are huge Wigan rugby league fans. The fact that we're going to

:09:51. > :09:55.play today has enhanced their day. We wish them plenty of luck in the

:09:56. > :10:00.future. Isn't that heart warming, Brian? I wonder what position she

:10:01. > :10:09.plays in Wigan. I meant... That was in a nice way! Of course. We hope

:10:10. > :10:15.you have a special day, Alan and Kelly. Let's move on and get the

:10:16. > :10:19.team newsment Thanks. Wigan have had horrible injury

:10:20. > :10:23.problems in recent weeks. Up to nine and ten players injured. A few

:10:24. > :10:28.familiar faces are back for them. Sean O'Loughlin came back last week

:10:29. > :10:35.and played about 60-odd minutes last week. They've got Ben Flower back,

:10:36. > :10:40.Michael McIlorum and Liam Farrell. A more familiar-looking line up. James

:10:41. > :10:45.Greenwood is -- Blake Green is still out. So they also have George

:10:46. > :10:52.Williams. A more settled Castleford side. Aaron Finch is back. He was

:10:53. > :10:57.rested last week. The big miss for them is Justin Carney on the wing.

:10:58. > :11:04.He's been taking lessons from Jamie Peacock, a bit of a punch up a

:11:05. > :11:09.couple of weeks ago. James Clare comes in for him. Huby has been

:11:10. > :11:15.going fantasticically great. England picked for the -- Huby picked for

:11:16. > :11:19.the England squad and Daryl Clark at We'll talk hooker. About the absence

:11:20. > :11:23.of Justin Carney as well later. When you look at the Super League table

:11:24. > :11:28.and you mentioned this already, we can see that Castleford and Wigan

:11:29. > :11:31.are in third and fourth, but the points scored by Castleford stands

:11:32. > :11:35.out. They're the top scorers. They scored the most tries this year, the

:11:36. > :11:39.reason for that, the building of this honesty, the culture, Clark is

:11:40. > :11:43.so integral to their attack, along with some of their bigger players,

:11:44. > :11:47.who create space for the likes of Shenton and Carney, who have been

:11:48. > :11:52.amongst the tries. You look at the defence. You have two second and

:11:53. > :11:56.third best defence. Everybody has been focussed on how many points

:11:57. > :12:01.Castleford have scored. They have the third best defence as well.

:12:02. > :12:04.Daryl has that work ethic that Jamie was speaking about before. When they

:12:05. > :12:08.don't have the ball, it's massively important, probably one of the

:12:09. > :12:12.features of them being in One of third. The interesting stories

:12:13. > :12:19.around today's game is that Wigan haven't actually lost in the cup at

:12:20. > :12:25.home since 1986. The last team to beat them at home in the cup were

:12:26. > :12:28.Castleford. However, this current Wigan team are a much different

:12:29. > :12:38.prospect when they have their captain in the side.

:12:39. > :12:45.There's Edwards going away, straight down the middle!

:12:46. > :12:53.Surely now that's the try that will take Wigan through.

:12:54. > :12:57.The record the club has now is pretty special. To have not lost a

:12:58. > :13:01.game for so long, you hear what an achievement it is. You don't want to

:13:02. > :13:08.be the team who lose it's for us. Wig around has always had it from

:13:09. > :13:14.the 80s an 90s, being unbeaten. There's a bit of romance about this

:13:15. > :13:21.trophy that the lads really tie into. The question is who can ever

:13:22. > :13:24.take it from them. Some of my fondest memories of watching Wigan

:13:25. > :13:29.were at Wembley. Watching them win that trophy. That's something that

:13:30. > :13:33.once you've seen, it and you get an opportunity to play for your town,

:13:34. > :13:37.it's something you want to emulatement Sean O'Loughlin wins

:13:38. > :13:41.that trophy. It's a Wembley occasion that belongs to the town of Wigan.

:13:42. > :13:48.Last year was a special year. We had quite a few lads leaving. We knew

:13:49. > :13:52.early in the year it was going to be going. It pulled us together to send

:13:53. > :13:58.them off on a high. We did that in a great way, winning this and the

:13:59. > :14:05.Grand Final. Sam Tomkins wins it for Wigan! They are double winners. Sam

:14:06. > :14:10.last year, along with a few key players for us, probably started the

:14:11. > :14:11.year and we were finding our feet, getting to grips with new players.

:14:12. > :14:12.Then we founds our feet getting to grips with new players.

:14:13. > :14:21.to play good football again. getting to grips with new players.

:14:22. > :14:25.got the space here. They've got the pace with Burgess, who's going to

:14:26. > :14:28.skip away for his second try of the night. Fabulous. We know what we

:14:29. > :14:32.have to do this weekend. We know it's going to be a tough game. We

:14:33. > :14:39.played them early on in the year. They did a good job on us. They

:14:40. > :14:45.turned us over at Castleford. We probably underestimated them a bit.

:14:46. > :14:53.They have a great coach in Daryl Powell. It's going to be a tough

:14:54. > :14:57.game for us. We're a way off building a dynasty yet, but there's

:14:58. > :15:01.more expectation on us now than ever in the past. We want to get our

:15:02. > :15:04.hands on this trophy again. We know to do that, we've got to have a

:15:05. > :15:12.great performance to beat Castleford.

:15:13. > :15:17.Jon Wilkin, it is easy for me to say they are a different side

:15:18. > :15:22.Jon Wilkin, it is easy for me to say in the starting 13. Why are they

:15:23. > :15:26.different? Sean O'Loughlin does not do one thing particularly well, he

:15:27. > :15:31.does everything very well. He brings intensity, aggression and smart

:15:32. > :15:38.players to their team. What else can you say about him? He is one of the

:15:39. > :15:44.best players in our competition for all of those reasons. When you are

:15:45. > :15:51.playing against him, he is in your face. He initiates contact. One of

:15:52. > :15:57.our bigger players, Sean was off the line to hit him, and that shows

:15:58. > :16:04.intent and leadership. At man that big is difficult to tackle. We track

:16:05. > :16:10.is run, the break, but to be able to make this play, 23 metre

:16:11. > :16:12.left-to-right pass on the move, there are not many players

:16:13. > :16:12.left-to-right pass on the move, do that, and he is one

:16:13. > :16:16.left-to-right pass on the move, is why he is special to this Wigan

:16:17. > :16:21.side. He finds himself in position is why he is special to this Wigan

:16:22. > :16:28.wouldn't. That is due to his versatility and his play. He is a

:16:29. > :16:33.leader and he can hit and he is very smart and always thinks making a

:16:34. > :16:40.fantastic player. You can see him loitering on the pitch on the

:16:41. > :16:42.right-hand side of your screen. The Wigan team are just starting to

:16:43. > :16:46.stretch out now. Sean O'Loughlin The Wigan team are just starting to

:16:47. > :16:49.one of the key three players I am picking out today. He is a sticky

:16:50. > :16:53.player and defenders will have to deal with him when he has the ball.

:16:54. > :16:56.player and defenders will have to The nucleus of the forward pack is

:16:57. > :17:02.this man in the background, Michael McIlorum. He is a little terrier. He

:17:03. > :17:04.will get into everything. He is not the biggest bloke on the field, but

:17:05. > :17:11.he goes in at a million miles the biggest bloke on the field, but

:17:12. > :17:16.hour. We are looking at the spine of the team. One of the players that

:17:17. > :17:20.has been brought in this year is Mattie Owen. He is just doing a bit

:17:21. > :17:26.off at work with the ball air. When he is carrying the ball, if you are

:17:27. > :17:37.a defender, if he is running back at you, it is a frightening place to

:17:38. > :17:41.be. They can do so much. Keep your eyes on those three players which

:17:42. > :17:47.make up the spine of the Wigan outfit. And take us through the

:17:48. > :17:56.team. At the back, they have a lot of experience in Mattie Owen. Watch

:17:57. > :18:00.out for Joe Burgess, one of the fastest players in our competition.

:18:01. > :18:07.Anthony Gelling has had limited opportunities but always plays well.

:18:08. > :18:13.Dan Sarginson, watch out for his footwork and his fantastic defence.

:18:14. > :18:17.In the halfbacks, some people will be shocked to see George Williams at

:18:18. > :18:21.stand-off. He has been a hooker in recent times, but equally

:18:22. > :18:23.comfortable there. Matty Smith polls all the strings at scrum-half and

:18:24. > :18:27.will be getting the ball the majority of the time today for

:18:28. > :18:32.Wigan. The hooker, Michael McIlorum, one of my favourite players in the

:18:33. > :18:37.competition at the moment. He is tough, robust, such a competitor.

:18:38. > :18:41.Watch out for his aggression, sometimes it teeters over, but he is

:18:42. > :18:46.a fantastic way. Two very competent props on either side of him. Is this

:18:47. > :18:50.the best back row in Super League? Possibly. John Bateman does think

:18:51. > :18:54.that his age that he should not be doing. He is schooling at the back

:18:55. > :19:00.rows in this competition. Liam Farrell, full of energy, fantastic

:19:01. > :19:04.wrestling. And we have said enough about Sean O'Loughlin already. Jack

:19:05. > :19:08.Hughes, young back row, plays very well and a great athlete. Dominic

:19:09. > :19:14.Crosby, impressed by him and he has huge international potential. Lots

:19:15. > :19:19.of youngsters. Yes, but so many good young players doing a great job for

:19:20. > :19:23.them. Finally, Ryan Hampshire, lightning fullback, and Ryan Sutton,

:19:24. > :19:29.what a day for him. A young man whose dream about laying in the

:19:30. > :19:35.Challenge Cup, he has come in and taken the opportunity. He's so young

:19:36. > :19:40.he does not have an official photo. Their average age is 23. It shows

:19:41. > :19:44.what a production line of talent they have at this club. There must

:19:45. > :20:00.be several more knocking on the door to try to play today. From Wigan,

:20:01. > :20:03.let's move on to Castleford. We have a kicking masterclass from Marc

:20:04. > :20:08.Sneyd. Do not try this at home, you might dislocate your hip!

:20:09. > :20:13.I am doing everything the same as I did last year, but now I am

:20:14. > :20:20.experimenting. The most unusual ones worked. They thought I was joking at

:20:21. > :20:28.first. He is putting out all the noise. He has set that superbly

:20:29. > :20:37.well. Terrific kick from the touchline. White through the

:20:38. > :20:40.centre! I try to curl it like football in that sense. As long as

:20:41. > :20:48.the wall keeps going through the sticks, I am not going to complain

:20:49. > :20:56.about it. As accurate as you like. Everything about the place is

:20:57. > :21:04.absolutely outstanding this year. They are flying! Marc Sneyd, the

:21:05. > :21:08.architect. Everyone is happy and everyone knows their roles. It is

:21:09. > :21:13.working well. As long as we carry on playing, we can probably beat

:21:14. > :21:20.anybody in our day. Is finding his kicking boots now. He is on loan

:21:21. > :21:25.from Salford. You will know him well. Aside from the 59 Super League

:21:26. > :21:31.goals he has this year, ye also leads in try assists as well. He is

:21:32. > :21:36.a dangerous player. He can play, he can break the line, and as you say,

:21:37. > :21:41.I think it is 75 try assists this year. That teens he can pass the

:21:42. > :21:47.ball as well. He is pivotal to what Castleford do and don't do today.

:21:48. > :21:51.One of Castleford's keys to success is that everyone is a threat, I know

:21:52. > :22:05.we talk about Marc Sneyd there, but you cannot just take out one person.

:22:06. > :22:11.Everybody is, is contributing. If you look at Michael McIlorum and

:22:12. > :22:15.John Bateman, they are combated players. Justin Carney is the same

:22:16. > :22:19.for Castleford. He is there a aggressive player. He can score

:22:20. > :22:22.great tries, but he is aggressive for a winger. Once he gets in your

:22:23. > :22:28.face, I think they will miss that right in the game. They will miss

:22:29. > :22:32.the prowess coming out of that end as well. They are going through the

:22:33. > :22:39.final bumps, the Castleford players down next to them in the rain. They

:22:40. > :22:50.are feeling a lot of love at the moment. You can see they have

:22:51. > :22:55.confidence. Andy Lynch, the big guy in the middle of the field, what he

:22:56. > :23:00.does if he brings experience. He will settle down when things go

:23:01. > :23:04.crazy. Craig Huby is another one, just their running off the field. He

:23:05. > :23:08.has got a big beard. And Daryl Clark, one of the top players in the

:23:09. > :23:13.Super League this season. He will be looking to jump out. They are going

:23:14. > :23:19.back in, they have just had a good warm up and are looking to get the

:23:20. > :23:25.game underway. Let's look at one of the battles today, Michael McIlorum

:23:26. > :23:30.against Daryl Clark. Daryl Powell said he was the best hooker in Super

:23:31. > :23:35.League this season. It is hard to argue with those statistics. He

:23:36. > :23:40.carries the ball. If Huby Andy Lynch get on the front, look at the

:23:41. > :23:48.meters. Every time he carries 1800 metres, to average out in the Super

:23:49. > :23:54.League is huge. Every time Daryl Clark carries the ball, he is a

:23:55. > :23:58.threat on the back of what they do. Don't underestimate what Michael

:23:59. > :24:01.McIlorum am the effect that he has on the Wigan team as well. His

:24:02. > :24:07.control, his dynamic and organisation, he runs when it is

:24:08. > :24:11.right. Not as many times as Daryl Clark, but he is still effective.

:24:12. > :24:16.His leadership qualities put him on the top of the pile, and that is why

:24:17. > :24:20.he gets the nod at international level above Daryl Clark. Wherever

:24:21. > :24:25.you look, forward wise, they have got threat and power. You can bring

:24:26. > :24:30.Huby and Lynch into this as well. This clip encapsulating what

:24:31. > :24:38.Castleford do best. You could have got -- you have got Clark and

:24:39. > :24:50.running there. A very clever shape. We have thinly, Slade.

:24:51. > :24:56.Expect to see Clark running a lot today. This one here, a big run in,

:24:57. > :25:02.instead of passing the ball, getting into contact and finding an

:25:03. > :25:06.off-load. Craig Huby's game has developed. He is a fantastic player.

:25:07. > :25:10.The ability to run the, bump, off-load or pass gives you a lot of

:25:11. > :25:14.options, and Castleford will feed off the back of that. I think

:25:15. > :25:20.Fulford do a lot of things. They fancy this today, Castleford.

:25:21. > :25:32.Go through their side for us. The jewel in the crown of

:25:33. > :25:38.Castleford's back three is Luke Dorn, a great finisher. He scored 12

:25:39. > :25:46.tries in the last nine games. And here is where the power lies.

:25:47. > :25:49.Michael Shenton, skipper of his hometown club, back in the England

:25:50. > :25:59.training squad and at the top of his game. Marc Sneyd, we featured his

:26:00. > :26:04.kicking game. In Super League, his passing game is pretty awesome as

:26:05. > :26:08.well. And Liam Finn, these are the most talked about halfback

:26:09. > :26:11.partnership in the game. A powerful front row, highlighted by Jon

:26:12. > :26:22.Wilkin. Craig Huby is on the top of his game. Daryl Clark, watching go.

:26:23. > :26:26.And they're back three, they underestimated, overworking Oliver

:26:27. > :26:30.Holmes, 21 years old, last year's Young player of the year. Lee Jewitt

:26:31. > :26:32.was weighing room the recently but was brought back with an injury. He

:26:33. > :26:46.is in the team. Plenty of size off the bench. Grant

:26:47. > :26:50.Millington has found for me, with Frankie Mariano. They have some

:26:51. > :26:54.sides, those two! And finally, Scott Wheeldon from the London Broncos,

:26:55. > :27:00.club of last year. Jamie Ellis coming off the bench, might have to

:27:01. > :27:04.give Daryl Clark a bit of a rest. He is also adept at playing in the

:27:05. > :27:11.halfback position. His kicking game may prove to be crucial. The

:27:12. > :27:14.build-up to this game has been dominated by some needling between

:27:15. > :27:17.both head coaches. Let's hear from them. They

:27:18. > :27:19.both head coaches. Let's hear from The young guys have done

:27:20. > :27:28.fantastically in recent weeks, but a The young guys have done

:27:29. > :27:32.relief? Yes. Ben Flower, he has been a great player for me. The young

:27:33. > :27:38.kids have done a great job. The senior players in the team give some

:27:39. > :27:42.stability, and that is what is needed today. How confident are you

:27:43. > :27:45.players that they can beat Wigan year-to-date? We will have to play

:27:46. > :27:48.exceptionally well, there is no doubt about that. Wigan are a great

:27:49. > :27:55.side with high-quality players, so we need to be good. But we feel

:27:56. > :27:57.confident about ourselves. The players are ready to go and looking

:27:58. > :28:01.forward to the big challenge in front of us. If we play well

:28:02. > :28:05.enough, I expect us to have a good chance of winning the game.

:28:06. > :28:11.Difficult conditions? We need to be a bit safer, a bit more

:28:12. > :28:14.conservative. Hopefully we will put Castleford under pressure. They will

:28:15. > :28:18.find it hard to play today, and that was a game plan for us. They have

:28:19. > :28:23.some real talent on their edges, but we need to defend really well, and

:28:24. > :28:27.that is what we will do. What are the key areas today? Looking at the

:28:28. > :28:30.conditions, it is going to be wet, no doubt about that. The kicking

:28:31. > :28:35.game, controlling possession and field position is going to be huge,

:28:36. > :28:40.and taking your chances, that will not be too many, I would have

:28:41. > :28:45.thought. I do not expected to be a high-scoring affair. We will need to

:28:46. > :28:48.take our chances. We have got the players to do that. Decision-making,

:28:49. > :28:51.in terms of what you do with the ball, is going to be important,

:28:52. > :28:57.because the conditions are. Should we celebrate the fact that today we

:28:58. > :29:01.have two coaches, two British coaches, who have revitalised the

:29:02. > :29:05.two clubs? Without a doubt we should celebrate that. The squads are full

:29:06. > :29:09.of great English players who are doing a job. They are not just in

:29:10. > :29:13.there because the players are injured. They have got some great

:29:14. > :29:20.English players. Why have they had a bit of a ding-dong this week, the

:29:21. > :29:24.coaches? I don't mind. If it is raising the stakes, it is providing

:29:25. > :29:32.entertainment for us all. Brian fired the first salvo and said they

:29:33. > :29:40.are going there to win. Sean likes to dip into that emotional well all

:29:41. > :29:44.the time and fire up his players. 1.1 Castleford, their last losses

:29:45. > :29:52.have been against St Helens, Leeds and Huddersfield. All topsides. Can

:29:53. > :29:57.they beat a top team? Brian is going to leave here and join the

:29:58. > :30:00.commentary. He is going to go via where the wedding party are having

:30:01. > :30:07.their celebrations and will invite them all around! There has been a

:30:08. > :30:10.bit of needle in the leader to this between the two coaches, nothing

:30:11. > :30:19.wrong with that, it all adds to the hype.

:30:20. > :30:30.Sam Tomkins, mercurial genius! A sensational try!

:30:31. > :30:52.The little man is in! It is try time for Wigan. And a very good try.

:30:53. > :30:57.at home was 1986 and Castleford did the damage. Can they repeat that

:30:58. > :31:02.today? Let's go to our commentary team, Brian Noble, Jonathan Davis

:31:03. > :31:08.and Dave Woods. There's the trophy glimering away.

:31:09. > :31:10.There's a curtain of grey rain hanging over the stadium today.

:31:11. > :31:16.These are the days the sunshine of Wembley seems a long way away.

:31:17. > :31:23.But cut through the gloom and glory awaits for one of these two sides.

:31:24. > :31:28.Should be a really good occasion today. Wigan have a few good names

:31:29. > :32:25.back: Wigan pedigree is impedestrian

:32:26. > :32:30.Kabul. Cas have got their -- is impeccable. Cas have got their class

:32:31. > :32:36.back this year. This should be good. Handling of important on a --

:32:37. > :32:42.importance on a wet day. Bowen looks to test the Castleford defence. Here

:32:43. > :32:46.we go. What are we expecting today? Weather conditions haven't helped.

:32:47. > :32:57.It will be interesting getting the ball out of their own quarter. Wigan

:32:58. > :33:01.are so, so young. They've got to handle the pressure now. Cas very

:33:02. > :33:06.confident at the moment. They're looking for the off-load, it will be

:33:07. > :33:11.a fantastic game. Wigan's youngsters have been one of the stories of the

:33:12. > :33:15.season so far, haven't they? How they've come through and performed

:33:16. > :33:21.on the big stage. They don't come too bigger than this. Ben Flower

:33:22. > :33:37.drives it in. Quarter final of the Tetleys Challenge Cup. A first touch

:33:38. > :33:42.for Castleford here. A couple of early indications there about the

:33:43. > :33:51.attitude of this Wigan team in relation to restricting Castleford's

:33:52. > :33:59.progress. A little bit of spill from the floor.

:34:00. > :34:08.Lynch loves to get the arm free. Plenty of players around him on that

:34:09. > :34:14.occasion. Clark scoot it out. Jowitt, rare start for him today.

:34:15. > :34:23.Liam Finn with a kick over the top. Bowen has to bend and a bit of work

:34:24. > :34:26.to do here. He's an electrifying runner, given space. They can't

:34:27. > :34:29.afford him much room. It will be like a game of chess. The first 20

:34:30. > :34:33.minutes, they won't want to spill the ball in their own half. That

:34:34. > :34:36.will be the priority. The conditions have changed their mind set, from

:34:37. > :34:42.the training in the week. That lovely weather in the week, totally

:34:43. > :34:47.different mind set now. This man keeps his place ahead of

:34:48. > :34:54.Josh Charnley, who is fit today, but has not been selected. Manfredi is

:34:55. > :34:57.the man they stay with. He's working on dual registration to get match

:34:58. > :35:02.sharpness back. That's great for team spirit. If you are playing

:35:03. > :35:04.well, if you have someone like Josh Charnley, he

:35:05. > :35:14.well, if you have someone like Josh to get back in. A little pressure on

:35:15. > :35:18.the kick. It's kept alive here. Still the sixth tackle, but

:35:19. > :35:26.Castleford claim it any way. A knock-on? Yes, there was.

:35:27. > :35:40.It will be Wigan's. Big decision. Good result for Wigan. I think that

:35:41. > :35:44.came off Gelling. It D -- did. I'm not sure if that's the right call.

:35:45. > :35:51.We will have to wait and see. There's an element of controversy

:35:52. > :35:54.about it. But it's Wigan who have position. We talk about the

:35:55. > :35:56.youngsters coming through. We class Farrell as a veteran these days -

:35:57. > :36:15.he's only 23 for heaven's sake! Wigan ranging forward again here.

:36:16. > :36:18.Look how close they're getting. Castleford fans sit behind those

:36:19. > :36:23.sticks, they're looking to help their defenders. O'Loughlin, there's

:36:24. > :36:27.that rule that's been causing a lot of controversy this year,

:36:28. > :36:32.obstruction. They railly have to do something about that, don't they?

:36:33. > :36:37.Was that obstruction? That is obstruction. He impeded the defender

:36:38. > :36:40.there. We've discuss aid few, at the game -- discussed a few, at the game

:36:41. > :36:44.last night. It needs clearing up for everybody. For me that was

:36:45. > :36:47.obstruction. If you've got time to adjust in the defensive line and

:36:48. > :36:54.push out, then you've got to leave it go. It's just getting ridiculous

:36:55. > :36:57.now. I agree entirely. You're taking the easy option, running into

:36:58. > :37:02.defenders. It's not what the game is about.

:37:03. > :37:09.Huby clobbered. Three of them, it's a feature of Wigan's defence, that

:37:10. > :37:14.Huby clobbered. Three of them, it's Castleford don't do bat at it -- bad

:37:15. > :37:17.at it either. They all know how to bend their backs and get dirty. I

:37:18. > :37:24.think the kicking game will be crucial today.

:37:25. > :37:34.Especially in your own half. Sixth tackle coming up, Finn will

:37:35. > :37:40.hoist it high. It's gone out of play by a long, long way.

:37:41. > :37:43.Daryl Powell won't be happy with that. They worked hard to get to

:37:44. > :37:54.that field position. That's a wasted kick at the end of the set.

:37:55. > :38:02.They have some history here, Castleford. Ancient history in terms

:38:03. > :38:05.of the cup. The last team to win in Wigan in the Challenge Cup, back in

:38:06. > :38:12.1986. They've won their last two Wigan in the Challenge Cup, back in

:38:13. > :38:18.game here last June, 18-4. Earlier this year, they won at Castleford,

:38:19. > :38:24.36-31 in a thrilling game. The first ever rugby league game here, in

:38:25. > :38:39.1999, on this ground, Castleford won that one, a play-off game.

:38:40. > :38:44.One of nine Wigan players have been named in the England training squad

:38:45. > :38:50.this week. Matty Smith is another. He will put

:38:51. > :38:53.the kick in. Is it covered? Yes. Great catch from

:38:54. > :39:12.Clare. Good take. They're struggling to

:39:13. > :39:18.find yards for their own line here Castleford. That will help.

:39:19. > :39:28.He wanted a penalty the first time around. He thought he was whacked

:39:29. > :39:53.around the head. It's this play that Gil Dudson impeded Craig Huby.

:39:54. > :40:00.Clark is sharp. They've got a bit of room here.

:40:01. > :40:06.Shenton stepping back down the middle. Desperate Wigan defending

:40:07. > :40:08.led by Gelling. Castleford have momentum here. Rolling forward

:40:09. > :40:20.again. Two tackles to go.

:40:21. > :40:24.Less than 20 metres to cover. Not a good option there. Slowed the whole

:40:25. > :40:28.movement down. This has to be a precise kick. Clark back to Sneyd.

:40:29. > :40:32.He tries to thread one there. Bowen is down there as well. It's a

:40:33. > :40:37.difficult take on this kind of pitch. You can't mess about. You

:40:38. > :40:41.just have to get down, take the ball and start again. The one big

:40:42. > :40:47.difference with me with Castleford this year, is that the confidence is

:40:48. > :40:49.one thing. But you can see they believe when they come to places and

:40:50. > :41:00.beat sides. Pick up by Williams. He's going to

:41:01. > :41:07.have a go. Gelling slides back and just about retains. Misread that

:41:08. > :41:12.Bateman. Last tackle. Wigan have to kick. Smith under pressure gets it

:41:13. > :41:16.away. Taken on the full by Dixon. That gives him a yard or two. Up to

:41:17. > :41:20.the halfway line. That's great pressure by Castleford. Put the

:41:21. > :41:24.kicker under pressure. Now they're starting their set near the halfway

:41:25. > :41:29.line. Sneyd put the pressure on, disrupted the kick and Dixon the

:41:30. > :41:39.ability to claim the ball in the Wigan half. Three tackles gone.

:41:40. > :41:44.Inside Wigan territory. Oliver Holmes comes on.

:41:45. > :41:48.I think they're controlling their off-loads as well. They've had so

:41:49. > :41:57.many off-loads this year. Now conditions - Oh, forward pass for

:41:58. > :42:02.Sneyd. Adjudicated obstruction I think. He has, penalty. Let's have a

:42:03. > :42:18.look. Yeah, clear obstruction again. If you know they're clamping down on

:42:19. > :42:22.it, you've got to think of something else to do. You have to put it

:42:23. > :42:25.through the hands maybe. They have to be different. The ref is going to

:42:26. > :42:34.blow straight away. Line speed is very good from both

:42:35. > :42:36.sides at the moment. We expect that in the first ten minutes of each

:42:37. > :42:57.half. Good contest, this. Shenton desperately hanging on.

:42:58. > :43:03.Clare got in there as well, as did Holmes.

:43:04. > :43:09.Matty Bowen and Matt Smith. Smith up to the line.

:43:10. > :43:16.Castleford's defence is shaping up here.

:43:17. > :43:28.What was that? Not a very good kick. He's happy. A salute from the

:43:29. > :43:31.Castleford tiger. Look at the pressure. He's going against the

:43:32. > :43:34.grain with the kick. That's a difficult kick. You've got to stand

:43:35. > :43:38.still. If you're running across the field and trying to put that in the

:43:39. > :43:42.air, that's a tough kick to do, a tough skill. It should have come off

:43:43. > :43:48.his left foot and then banged it high. You'd have expected better,

:43:49. > :43:54.though. Yeah, but, you know. It's a rare mistake. It is a rare mistake.

:43:55. > :44:06.I'll accept one of those every now and again from Sean O'Loughlin.

:44:07. > :44:17.At the moment, there's nothing happening for them.

:44:18. > :44:21.Clark off and running. He's almost through. The recovering effort from

:44:22. > :44:46.Flower to bring him down. The chip goes in again.

:44:47. > :44:49.Burgess has missed! It was lucky for him it came off the boot of Dixon.

:44:50. > :44:55.He got away with that. He got away with. It he lost this in the air. He

:44:56. > :45:04.took his eyes off it. That mistake could have been punished. Got away

:45:05. > :45:09.with this. There you go, Burgess clearly spills it. Has he played

:45:10. > :45:46.that, Dixon? Or did it just hit his heel? It's come off Dixon. Yeah.

:45:47. > :45:52.Was it raining in Cardiff today? Yes, all the way up. You can see

:45:53. > :46:01.what they are trying to do, every tackle they are trying to go for the

:46:02. > :46:13.ball. The tension retention has been good by both sides.

:46:14. > :46:33.Not too much on the left-hand side, Marc Sneyd will have to

:46:34. > :46:38.Not too much on the left-hand side, something happen. Ten metres away,

:46:39. > :46:51.how good is his boot? He knocks it on! They are having a look at this.

:46:52. > :46:56.Two knock-ons. Years so unlucky. He did not expect the ball to come out,

:46:57. > :47:02.he courted by surprise and then he dropped it.

:47:03. > :47:10.We have got the video referee. We are making sure everyone is

:47:11. > :47:14.We have got the video referee. We to start with. Freeze it on the

:47:15. > :47:25.kick. Everyone is on site. We can carry on. To me, you could class

:47:26. > :47:33.that as Wigan doing a charge-down, not a knock-on. I need an angle in

:47:34. > :47:36.there a lot closer. Rising ball, Wigan man touches the ball. That

:47:37. > :47:39.there a lot closer. Rising ball, a charge-down. That is not a

:47:40. > :47:44.knock-on by Wigan. Then it does touch the Castleford man, who loses

:47:45. > :47:52.the ball forwards in a field of play, so it is going to be no dry,

:47:53. > :47:55.the ball forwards in a field of Wigan. It is going to be interesting

:47:56. > :48:03.to hear the Castleford reaction to this! I think that is the wrong

:48:04. > :48:06.decision. That is not a charge-down. He has played that ball, and that is

:48:07. > :48:10.decision. That is not a charge-down. a knock-on. That should be a

:48:11. > :48:13.decision. That is not a charge-down. Castleford scrum, attacking scrum. A

:48:14. > :48:15.charge-down is when you go for the kick and you are rushing acid.

:48:16. > :48:18.charge-down is when you go for the is not a charge-down in my eyes.

:48:19. > :48:22.charge-down is when you go for the explanation of the rule is there,

:48:23. > :48:26.the borders of the boot and it is rising. It is nothing

:48:27. > :48:36.the borders of the boot and it is charging the ball down! That is the

:48:37. > :48:51.114 Castleford. Just to be clear, it was never a dry. It should have been

:48:52. > :48:54.an attacking scrum for Castleford. The kicking game has been important,

:48:55. > :49:25.because opportunities come both from kicks.

:49:26. > :49:41.Two tackles to go, Wigan ranging close ear. Down the blindside. Both

:49:42. > :49:44.Wigan are attacking down their right hand side, and Castleford want to

:49:45. > :49:53.attack down their left-hand side. Maybe they would -- the reason is

:49:54. > :49:59.that they are trying to hide Marc Sneyd a bit. He is pivotal in the

:50:00. > :50:03.kicking game. They might be trying to take some Jews out of him. --

:50:04. > :50:25.some Jews. There have not been many mistakes.

:50:26. > :50:34.That is the first one. A good attacking position for Wigan.

:50:35. > :50:44.The errors are beginning to mount up, not that there have been many.

:50:45. > :51:01.Three apiece, the errors so far. Here is Bateman, John Bateman. He is

:51:02. > :51:11.still only 20. He has had a terrific season, in his debut season here for

:51:12. > :51:13.Wigan. An obstruction. Every time you hear the referee's whistle, you

:51:14. > :51:26.can guess that it is an obstruction. I am still worried about the

:51:27. > :51:31.charge-down, let alone these obstructions. We're watching that,

:51:32. > :51:34.and by the letter of the law, he has run behind a defender, so it is an

:51:35. > :51:45.obstruction, so we can understand that. Somebody will throw able but

:51:46. > :51:50.at me, but in the spirit of the game... You have to have empathy for

:51:51. > :52:01.the game sometimes. Clark is such a dangerous runner. He

:52:02. > :52:05.spots the opportunity and start away. The word on the street if he

:52:06. > :52:17.is on his way to Warrington next He has a chance! He can't keep a

:52:18. > :52:28.hold of it. Free play. Advantage here.

:52:29. > :52:32.They make a mistake straightaway and give possession back to Castleford.

:52:33. > :52:47.Fairly whale -- well played I am not sure there. It is a

:52:48. > :52:53.difficult ball, difficult pass. There is the blade, the ball, very

:52:54. > :52:59.clumsy. Trying to be a bit too quick, lost to the control, and now

:53:00. > :53:03.they are under pressure again. And would have been tempted on the great

:53:04. > :53:08.pass from Hauraki dispute in on this wet surface. He is eight big winner.

:53:09. > :53:13.Matty Bowen is not the best defensive fullback. You have to have

:53:14. > :53:18.a go at him. What about what comes next? Castleford I'm position, less

:53:19. > :53:24.than ten metres away. Clark picks it up and throws it back to Liam Finn.

:53:25. > :53:49.This dedicated Liam Finn. -- the steady headed Liam Finn.

:53:50. > :53:59.He hits the line. Wigan's defence wins it. I thought the tackle was

:54:00. > :54:04.complete. Again, it did not need to miss the player. They created the

:54:05. > :54:11.overlap, and yet they missed a player. A lot of players tend to do

:54:12. > :54:14.this. They throw a long pass and miss someone out it through their

:54:15. > :54:21.hands if you have created the numbers! It was that second effort

:54:22. > :54:25.in the tackle. Yes, a good decision. Wigan's defence has been

:54:26. > :54:29.impenetrable at times in the Super League this year. They will need to

:54:30. > :54:30.get that great here to keep Castleford at with a repeat effect

:54:31. > :54:45.on their line. It looked forward from our angle. A

:54:46. > :54:51.lot of pressure. In a game of momentum, you feel with this

:54:52. > :54:57.pressure, Castleford should have something on the scoreboard.

:54:58. > :55:02.It is hard to argue. They defended well there, Wigan, because they had

:55:03. > :55:14.to. They still have some hard yards to

:55:15. > :55:38.do here, Wigan, to escape their own area, their own end of the pitch.

:55:39. > :55:43.Castleford has played very controlled rugby in the first 21

:55:44. > :55:52.minutes. It is Matty Smith you will truly

:55:53. > :56:35.forward. A good kick. It is slow. They are going to kick

:56:36. > :56:39.early. It is not a good kick. Advantage Wigan there, and the last

:56:40. > :56:49.few kicking game saw Smith clear. Owen brings it straight back in.

:56:50. > :57:00.A rushed kick and then a penalty. We spoke about momentum. Now it is

:57:01. > :57:10.Wigan's opportunity. The attack was complete. Daryl Powell said before

:57:11. > :57:14.the game, it would not be a high-scoring game, and his words are

:57:15. > :57:18.being acted out here. Wigan will sense that they have an opportunity

:57:19. > :57:37.now. Bateman is only five metres away. He has lost it!

:57:38. > :57:44.Five mistakes each. Queue stretching for it. It is not the path you want.

:57:45. > :57:53.He is the one who is going to run the show. The pass has got to be the

:57:54. > :58:03.breadbasket for him. So pretentious, new hardbacks! You can get in touch

:58:04. > :58:12.with us on Facebook and Insta grammar.

:58:13. > :58:14.Bradford against Warrington tomorrow, and you can hear the

:58:15. > :58:38.semifinal draw very soon. We know witness in -- Widnes and

:58:39. > :58:39.Leeds are there. Will it be Wigan or Castleford, Bradford or Warrington

:58:40. > :59:06.to follow them? The thing about Boeing, he looks

:59:07. > :59:06.safe on the high ball. I know he was not

:59:07. > :59:13.safe on the high ball. I know he was but he looks very solid underneath

:59:14. > :59:28.that high ball. You have got to put it up there and compete for it.

:59:29. > :59:37.Now it is Wigan with the upper hand. Can they create something?

:59:38. > :59:42.They have only got a couple of tackles left here. They have 30

:59:43. > :00:00.metres to cover. He just overcooked it. We have seen

:00:01. > :00:06.a couple of those. O'Loughlin early in the game lets the pressure up.

:00:07. > :00:09.There we see Williams, whose touch was not quite good enough. How

:00:10. > :00:15.difficult is it for George Williams today? He is a hardback by

:00:16. > :00:23.inclination. He has been playing a dummy half this year. How difficult

:00:24. > :00:28.is it to swap positions back again? He grew up as a half back. But he's

:00:29. > :00:32.exciting out of the dummy half position. He's not alien in the

:00:33. > :00:40.reserve grade, he's been playing in the half. He's used to it. That was

:00:41. > :00:44.a poor kick. What about this? Andy Lynch has made a terrific break.

:00:45. > :00:46.What about that from Matty Bowen, who says, "You're going no further

:00:47. > :01:08.than this, son." That's Cas' ball. What's he giving?

:01:09. > :01:15.Got to be a Cas scrum. Yes. Going back to Williams, this is a break,

:01:16. > :01:19.lovely break. Unfortunately, he didn't get the support. Oh, Matty

:01:20. > :01:34.Bowen! Good luck to George Williams. The

:01:35. > :01:39.difference is the kicking so different from acting half and first

:01:40. > :01:42.sever. The touch on the run from first sever, it's a tougher kick, I

:01:43. > :01:48.think. Oliver Holmes ten metres away.

:01:49. > :02:00.It's attritional. And Luke Dorn slides in. There is a question mark

:02:01. > :02:04.hanging over whether he has got the try or not. That's a brilliant play.

:02:05. > :02:10.They've done it on numerous occasions and create the overlap. On

:02:11. > :02:15.this occasion, it's a goal. Luke Dorn has been watching this, instead

:02:16. > :02:25.of mikeshifting the passes, he's gone. Let's hear what the

:02:26. > :02:29.adjudication is. We're looking for obstruction. That's fine. It's the

:02:30. > :02:39.next one. That one he goes across that way. Can we just go back to

:02:40. > :02:44.that, please? Right, this is just the one we have to look. It's the

:02:45. > :02:51.line that he takes. Does he continue in through the gap or go across to

:02:52. > :03:00.the left-hand side, which pretends 27 getting across that way, which

:03:01. > :03:08.and then he comes back through that gap. That's no try. That's

:03:09. > :03:12.obstruction. The championship side fans are not going to be happy with

:03:13. > :03:16.this. That is one of the toughest ones

:03:17. > :03:22.I've seen. He runs the outside shoulder, so

:03:23. > :03:27.stops the defensive drifts. That's the first thing. That's such a tough

:03:28. > :03:31.call. Would he have got there, I'm not sure. That's the reaction. I'm

:03:32. > :03:34.not sure if he would have got there any way or whether he wanted to go

:03:35. > :03:38.there. That will be interesting for the boys in studio at halftime. I

:03:39. > :03:46.think that is a tough call. That is a tough call for the TMO as well.

:03:47. > :03:51.My little pound of flesh would be it was the pace of Dorn that got him

:03:52. > :03:59.over the line, not the poor decision or impedestrian yak of Hauraki. I

:04:00. > :04:04.think he would have got there -- impediment. Stay tuned at halftime.

:04:05. > :04:09.They'll discuss that, I'm sure. The game goes on. Wigan have made a

:04:10. > :04:16.mistake which has given Castleford head and feed at the scrum. Five

:04:17. > :04:20.metres inside the Wigan half. On the balance of play, Dave,

:04:21. > :04:24.Castleford probably deserved that score. We see it here. I think

:04:25. > :04:29.Castleford probably deserved that is in there. It's half a poor read

:04:30. > :04:33.from Williams any way. You've got to run the inside shoulder maybe. You

:04:34. > :04:39.can't just change your angle of running to stop him drifting. The

:04:40. > :04:43.big talking point, no TV cameras here today, that would have been a

:04:44. > :04:49.tryment That would have been a try. We'll get in touch with it on the

:04:50. > :04:53.red button, on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, whichever you like. I

:04:54. > :04:55.think, at this stage, Castleford look the more threatening team. Yes.

:04:56. > :05:06.Very creative. He's got to come into the game more,

:05:07. > :05:10.Luke Dorn. The passing play has been very good by Castleford. They need

:05:11. > :05:14.someone like Dorn to come in and cut the line.

:05:15. > :05:17.This is going to be a penalty. Yes, it is. Stolen, the referee says.

:05:18. > :05:20.Would you take two here, in light it is. Stolen, the referee says.

:05:21. > :05:29.the closeness of the game and quality of the defences? Ten

:05:30. > :05:32.minutes, I would. David Woods has screwed his face up here. That's his

:05:33. > :05:49.normal face. Shenton! And into the corner goes

:05:50. > :05:58.James Clare. Surely there's no doubt this time. Yes, there is. Oh, yes,

:05:59. > :06:01.there is. What can there be now? Michael Shenton having a word with

:06:02. > :06:09.the referee. What are you looking for here? Obstruction is what he's

:06:10. > :06:14.looking for. Let's hear again. Let's have a look at this. We're looking

:06:15. > :06:19.at the lead runner, to see where he hits the Wigan player. If he goes to

:06:20. > :06:24.him at that point, the ball is on the far side and the Wigan player

:06:25. > :06:31.comes out to the Castleford man. Can we look from behind the post,

:06:32. > :06:36.please? Slow this really down. That first lead runner, where does he hit

:06:37. > :06:43.him? That is caught on the far side and the Wigan man goes to him.

:06:44. > :06:49.That's that one. So, that's fine. Keep that going. Can we take that

:06:50. > :06:53.one back. Jog it back, make sure he does catch it on the outside, which

:06:54. > :07:01.I think he does. The Wigan man goes to him. He's caught on the far side

:07:02. > :07:06.of him. He's not run behind the man. Let's jog this on. I'm happy, that's

:07:07. > :07:22.not obstruction. Yeah, just go to the grounding. That's a try.

:07:23. > :07:28.Championship side fans will-this one.

:07:29. > :07:34.They loved that one. Is there a difference between Dorn's try and

:07:35. > :07:37.that try? Well, other than the fact that they're going different sides

:07:38. > :07:42.of the field and different try scorers. It's very difficult. You're

:07:43. > :07:46.asking if the defender made a play at the attacking player? I don't

:07:47. > :07:52.think so. There is an element of confusion around this. The officials

:07:53. > :07:57.will tell you this is what the coaches asked for. But, my

:07:58. > :08:04.suggestion, make the referee make the judgment on the field. Only use

:08:05. > :08:07.the video referee for the hard and fast decisions. Leave that to the

:08:08. > :08:10.judgment of the referee. Irrespective of the cause

:08:11. > :08:19.previously, they deserve to be in front now. They have controlled most

:08:20. > :08:23.of the game. They deserve to be in front.

:08:24. > :08:29.Here is Marc Sneyd. Don't adjust your sets. This really is his

:08:30. > :08:33.kicking style. He's aiming his body at somewhere at Row Z in the stand

:08:34. > :08:37.opposite the sticks he's kicking at. A little look over his shoulder to

:08:38. > :08:42.make sure the sticks are still there, at risk of falling over. But

:08:43. > :08:49.when he kicks it like that, who can argue with that style? It's amazing,

:08:50. > :08:53.because what he effectively is doing is narrowing the angle to make a

:08:54. > :08:57.harder kick. It's a great kick, great execution, but he makes it so

:08:58. > :09:02.much harder for himself. It's brilliant, brilliant radar he must

:09:03. > :09:07.have. Brilliant. Have a look at this. You don't quite get it. He

:09:08. > :09:22.comes running right round, almost 180 degrees.

:09:23. > :09:32.It's a proper old cup tie here today.

:09:33. > :09:56.Tell you what, they look comfortable as well. They look very comfortable

:09:57. > :10:07.dummy half. Good chase. They're back towards the

:10:08. > :10:19.20-metre mark. There's a bit of controversy

:10:20. > :10:23.building up to the try as well. Did Michael Shenton lose the ball there?

:10:24. > :10:27.Yes, he didment And he knows it as well. He's

:10:28. > :10:34.looking around isn't he. That was in the build up to that last try.

:10:35. > :10:38.In the cut and thrust of a came, these things happen.

:10:39. > :10:45.There's a hand in there from Webster. Because of that the penalty

:10:46. > :10:49.has gone. He's complaining. Should have got his arm out. He's clearly

:10:50. > :10:55.claiming for that. Webster saying his arm is trapped. The referee said

:10:56. > :10:56.- get your hand out of there then. To do that, he had to pull the ball

:10:57. > :11:12.out. You haven't seen a lot of the Wigan

:11:13. > :11:15.half backs, have you? Dom Crosby is only 24. He's very, very tender.

:11:16. > :11:38.He could be the danger. Wigan looking for a response P

:11:39. > :11:44.they'll hope, it's before the halftime hooter sounds. Farrell

:11:45. > :11:49.down-the-line side. Finn hanging on again.

:11:50. > :11:58.Castleford' defensive line is being put to the test here.

:11:59. > :12:04.It's taken by Manfredi. He's done really well. There was no Castleford

:12:05. > :12:10.hand on it. It is still the same set. One more tackle to go.

:12:11. > :12:21.The kick is straight to Luke dosh and -- Dorn and Castleford survive.

:12:22. > :12:27.I think Anthony Gelling against Sneyd, that's the one you were

:12:28. > :12:37.pointing out, that's one they have to isolate, the one on one.

:12:38. > :12:44.The Challenge Cup holders are being given a real tough examination of

:12:45. > :13:06.their determination to keep ahold of that trophy this season.

:13:07. > :13:14.Oh, good tackle. Didn't miss. He's a good player, an Unsung Hero

:13:15. > :13:19.in this Castleford team. He does 50 tackles a game and lays the right

:13:20. > :13:30.line. Haven't mentioned him much, but look at his work rate.

:13:31. > :13:39.Really tough young kid, John Bateman. Crosby getting just beyond

:13:40. > :13:52.the halfway line. Near the try line, that could be the

:13:53. > :14:05.area that Wigan go to. Great take! A towering presence.

:14:06. > :14:08.Great catch. Didn't have much help from his escorting players, that's

:14:09. > :14:14.the players coming back to protect the kicker on the catch. He just got

:14:15. > :14:18.the ball and big relief for the Castleford team. He kept his eyes on

:14:19. > :14:24.it. Good hit.

:14:25. > :14:31.I think he was injured there. I thought he was through. You have to

:14:32. > :14:37.compliment Castleford because they have curbed their instincts of the

:14:38. > :14:45.off-load. They've been disciplined in their own half. Lynch crawled a

:14:46. > :14:48.couple of metres here. A great kick, right in that corner. There's no way

:14:49. > :14:58.out. Wigan struggling get players back to

:14:59. > :15:06.play the ball here. What can Burgess do? It's been an absorbing first

:15:07. > :15:09.half. Yeah, really good. You think Castleford have slightly the upper

:15:10. > :15:13.hand. There's nothing between these two If you sides. Look at the body

:15:14. > :15:19.language of the Wigan players, you'd say it was an exhausting first half,

:15:20. > :15:27.as well. Knock-on. Last chance. This is a big

:15:28. > :15:37.set, this is. If Cas don't get anything from this, it will be a

:15:38. > :15:44.tremendous first half for them. A good effort from Jamie Ellis. They

:15:45. > :15:54.stopped the clock once the scrum is formed. One minutes and 20 seconds,

:15:55. > :16:04.which is ample time for Castleford to get a full set.

:16:05. > :16:23.Battered forward again by Lynch. Do they think about a drop goal here?

:16:24. > :16:44.Maybe. Farrell had hold of Millington's

:16:45. > :16:54.hips. Skipping away... A brilliant tackle, that is. A brilliant,

:16:55. > :17:05.brilliant tackle. Still wrestling forward. Penalty goes against

:17:06. > :17:13.Castleford. A great tackle. Lost the ball. A super tackle from Bateman.

:17:14. > :17:33.This is going to go wide, I think. Here come Wigan with the last play.

:17:34. > :17:39.Burgesses offside here. He is happy to take the tackle. That is the end

:17:40. > :17:45.of what has been a thrilling, absorbing first half for both sides,

:17:46. > :17:54.but a very satisfying first half for Castleford. They are the side that

:17:55. > :17:57.lead by 6-0 in what is an absolutely compelling cup tie. Here is Tanya

:17:58. > :18:04.Arnold on the touchline. Michael Shenton, has the first half gone the

:18:05. > :18:10.way you wanted it? It is a low scoring game, all about defence. We

:18:11. > :18:14.will keep doing what we're doing. Disappointed you are not further

:18:15. > :18:22.ahead? Not so much. We have just got to get on with it. Cheers, Michael.

:18:23. > :18:34.Michael Shenton off down the tunnel. He said it has been a battle, only

:18:35. > :18:40.six points scored in the first half. 46 points were scored in the first

:18:41. > :18:48.of another Wigan match. Castleford dominate possession, head on

:18:49. > :18:53.territory as well, and Wigan's said completion is only just over 50%.

:18:54. > :18:56.They have made seven errors to Castleford's six. You can get in

:18:57. > :19:04.touch with others, on social media, on Facebook, on Twitter. Describe

:19:05. > :19:09.the game in four words and we will read them out for you. Michael

:19:10. > :19:14.Shenton, Jon Wilkin said that was exactly how they thought that was

:19:15. > :19:17.going to go. It went the way that everybody predicted it would go,

:19:18. > :19:23.with the conditions and the two size playing today, it was a tight game.

:19:24. > :19:31.Castleford will be pleased with their format clean breaks -- format

:19:32. > :19:37.clean breaks. Wigan have really struggled to get anything going.

:19:38. > :19:41.They have had in Kent and energy, but the majority by too many errors.

:19:42. > :19:47.They have had in Kent and energy, Castleford really dominated that

:19:48. > :19:52.offer. Wigan ran out of form against whose field last week and they have

:19:53. > :19:56.continued that. They had forced errors, people dropping balls and

:19:57. > :20:00.kicking balls straight into touch. Castleford have been fantastic. An

:20:01. > :20:05.absorbing game, I have really enjoyed this half. Form and energy

:20:06. > :20:12.are linked. Once you've run out of form, you run out of energy, effort

:20:13. > :20:16.and enthusiasm. Wigan are close to producing a poor performance here. I

:20:17. > :20:19.always think that a team coached by Shaun Wane will always have a lot of

:20:20. > :20:22.energy and commitment, but they are down on skill at the moment. Lots of

:20:23. > :20:25.traffic on social down on skill at the moment. Lots of

:20:26. > :20:35.obstruction. One says, the obstruction. One says, the

:20:36. > :20:38.Talk this through why one of these was a try and one wasn't. In the

:20:39. > :20:43.first instance, what was a try and one wasn't. In the

:20:44. > :20:49.here is the player that we saw before the game, we highlighted

:20:50. > :20:54.Castleford playing. Then we have another player running to stop the

:20:55. > :20:57.third offender in from making a good decision. In

:20:58. > :21:02.third offender in from making a good Smith, the third defender, makes a

:21:03. > :21:06.great defensive decision. He is punished for making a good defensive

:21:07. > :21:07.decision with a tackle. If Matty Smith had paused and made contact

:21:08. > :21:11.with the Smith had paused and made contact

:21:12. > :21:17.him, he would have been pulled back for obstruction, and that is what is

:21:18. > :21:20.wrong about it. And this one, if we go back, Hauraki runs in the same

:21:21. > :21:25.direction as the defender, as it goes in here. The number 12 needs to

:21:26. > :21:36.come back in. Then there is no obstruction there. It is right to be

:21:37. > :21:40.no try, that. It makes it an easy decision for the referee to give.

:21:41. > :21:49.But the driver was given, Matty Smith did fantastically well. This

:21:50. > :21:54.is not a black and white rule. It has more shades of grey than my

:21:55. > :22:01.hair! There are that many different occasions that you can apply it, it

:22:02. > :22:04.is hard to judge. The spectators, people at home, ourselves, we are

:22:05. > :22:12.all confused by this rule, because all of a sudden... These kinds of

:22:13. > :22:16.things are being coached every day. Should you enforce this to the

:22:17. > :22:19.letter of the law, 90% of Rugby League players would be pulled up

:22:20. > :22:24.for obstruction. If that is the way we want to go, fine, let's get

:22:25. > :22:34.everyone around the table and say, this is obstruction and let's

:22:35. > :22:41.eradicated from the game. It confuses people like yourself, quite

:22:42. > :22:45.clearly! Yes! In order to try to simplify it for me so I am less

:22:46. > :22:50.confused, take us through some more examples. I will continue first.

:22:51. > :22:56.That is a definite obstruction there. It is a bit slower. But as

:22:57. > :23:01.you can see, everything is different. It is not an obstruction

:23:02. > :23:05.because Anthony Gelling made the decision to come in and tackle the

:23:06. > :23:07.player in front of him. The difference is when the defender does

:23:08. > :23:17.not have the option to tackle the guy. He is forced to. Again, this

:23:18. > :23:20.would have been play on. Six weeks ago, that would have been play on.

:23:21. > :23:26.They have clamped down in the middle of the year. Weller Hauraki, if he

:23:27. > :23:29.had stayed square and cut back on the inside shoulder... And without

:23:30. > :23:35.the replay, that would have been a try.

:23:36. > :23:42.This must also be confusing you, the players, mustn't it? And the

:23:43. > :23:46.coaches. Because if you are being coached to do moves in a certain way

:23:47. > :23:51.and yet all of a sudden the referees or whoever is in charge are deciding

:23:52. > :23:55.to enforce the obstruction will, that creates confusion everywhere.

:23:56. > :23:59.Yes. What it allows the defence to do is take an easy option and,

:24:00. > :24:05.knowing on a TV game, if you touch an attacking player coming near you,

:24:06. > :24:10.when it goes to the video referee, you know it is going to come back.

:24:11. > :24:14.That places the fluidity of a game or the result of an attacking play

:24:15. > :24:20.in the hands of a defender who is making a poor decision. It is not in

:24:21. > :24:23.the spirit of the game, for me. It is cheating, using technology to

:24:24. > :24:29.cheat. If you have been beaten by good play, hold your hands up and

:24:30. > :24:35.get on with it. Do not try to get an obstruction. We have another

:24:36. > :24:40.defeat, oh, dear, this obstruction rule is bad. If you can't play the

:24:41. > :24:45.game properly at the moment. A bad call on the first try. It needs

:24:46. > :24:49.addressing quickly. Let's get onto some of the other aspects of the

:24:50. > :24:54.game and how we can have targeted Huby, something we spoke about at

:24:55. > :24:57.the start. We highlighted him as an indicator for Castleford, but also

:24:58. > :25:00.you can see how many defenders are coming in from Wigan, because Shaun

:25:01. > :25:06.Wane highlighted him earlier in the week. We have McIlorum communion,

:25:07. > :25:14.because he knows that it is danger when he carries the ball. Wigan have

:25:15. > :25:23.had intent. They have just not had execution. With execution alongside

:25:24. > :25:29.intent, Wigan could have a better second half. I think the problem

:25:30. > :25:35.with the errors is that they have been enforced. When you are passing

:25:36. > :25:39.balls close to the line, but some of these have been awful errors. Matty

:25:40. > :25:44.Smith there, a tough kick because he is under pressure. O'Loughlin is not

:25:45. > :25:53.used to taking as much kicking responsibility. But now he has to

:25:54. > :25:56.do. A sloppy piece of play. I have been in this position before as a

:25:57. > :25:59.player, when your team are out of form a player, when your team are

:26:00. > :26:02.out of form anew by trying to put it right, but things just do not go

:26:03. > :26:08.right. People getting your way and get frustrated.

:26:09. > :26:13.They did not think that was a penalty at the time. Too many

:26:14. > :26:20.errors. You can handle several, but wouldn't have made many today,

:26:21. > :26:24.seven. Relative to Castleford, it is only one more, but relative to

:26:25. > :26:27.Wigan, it is a huge amount. Castleford's have been down the

:26:28. > :26:36.other end of the pitch. We can's have been all over the park. --

:26:37. > :26:39.Wigan's has been all over the park. It is easy to say, when you don't

:26:40. > :26:43.play the game, just click at the errors and you will have a better

:26:44. > :26:50.second half, but you must have been in situations where it spreads

:26:51. > :26:53.throughout 18? Yes, it can almost be like a virus. But the leaders need

:26:54. > :26:57.to come out and be like a virus. But the leaders need

:26:58. > :27:04.are always three or four Mac leaders in a team, and they can be

:27:05. > :27:16.confident, these other guys will put confidence throughout the team, not

:27:17. > :27:19.errors. Liam Finn will be important for Castleford, controlling the game

:27:20. > :27:22.and kicking the ball into the corners. It will be crucial in the

:27:23. > :27:27.second half. Whoever makes the least amount of errors in the second half

:27:28. > :27:33.will go on to win the game. And in wet weather, six point more like 12.

:27:34. > :27:37.Points are at a premium. I think that Castleford are doing very well

:27:38. > :27:41.at the moment. What about Marc Sneyd? We highlighted his kicking

:27:42. > :27:46.before the game, and he kicked a fantastic goal as well. I think they

:27:47. > :27:53.have consciously targeted Wigan's right of Castleford. The kicking

:27:54. > :28:00.game, it has got great variation. It is a huge asset to having your,

:28:01. > :28:08.kicking. Never a charge-down for me, this one. But he did drop the ball

:28:09. > :28:14.anyway, so it would not have been a try. Again, attacking the right-hand

:28:15. > :28:30.side. Accurate kicking games League two wins -- lead to wins.

:28:31. > :28:40.Charge-down? You are having a laugh, says Gavin Brown. Funniest looking

:28:41. > :28:49.charge-down I have ever seen, says Mark Prendergast. Keep your tweets

:28:50. > :28:52.coming. The second half is on the way shortly. Now, let's relive one

:28:53. > :29:02.We can's 28-24 win at Wembley in of our Challenge Cup memories.

:29:03. > :29:12.We can's 28-24 win at Wembley in 1985 was an absolute classic. --

:29:13. > :29:14.Wigan's 28-24 win. It was a magnificent day of football,

:29:15. > :29:18.including one of the greatest overseas players. John Ferguson, the

:29:19. > :29:35.Wigan win who grabbed a try. was the battle between Brett Kenny

:29:36. > :29:46.and Peter Sterling. Can he make it all the way? C is

:29:47. > :29:50.going down. There he goes. A superb try from Kenny. It was all Wigan in

:29:51. > :30:10.that first half. He has got the strength and speed!

:30:11. > :30:11.He's going to try. Wigan what in -- Wigan were in complete command until

:30:12. > :30:26.this try. And then a further three tries

:30:27. > :30:34.Wigan have the 4-point advantage and whole

:30:35. > :30:36.Wigan have the 4-point advantage and that was how it remained in the

:30:37. > :30:54.final seconds. what's coming your way: Tomorrow, we

:30:55. > :31:06.have the final quarter final from 3pm on BBC Two.

:31:07. > :31:11.The Canadian Grand Prix is on BBC One from 5pm. February Queen's gets

:31:12. > :31:15.under way on Monday at 1pm on BBC Two. Of course, this time next week,

:31:16. > :31:23.we'll be in the thick of World Cup action. Gary Lineker will be in

:31:24. > :31:28.Brazil with his documentary The Beautiful Game, 10. 35pm, BBC One.

:31:29. > :31:30.Let's go down to the touchline. Both sides are coming back out.

:31:31. > :31:36.I've got sides are coming back out.

:31:37. > :31:45.half, but he's not. Justin Carney, how did you see that first half? It

:31:46. > :31:49.was a great first half. Being a spectator, but it would have been

:31:50. > :31:53.great to be out there What are playing. You expecting Wigan to

:31:54. > :31:57.throw at you guys? I think they're just going to play the Wigan way and

:31:58. > :32:01.be tough and get in the grind with us. We just have to hang in there

:32:02. > :32:08.and it will be a tough challenge for the boys. Try not to get too nervous

:32:09. > :32:15.watching the second half. I'm more nervous today than I've ever been!

:32:16. > :32:19.Enjoy it. Matty Bowen gets this second half

:32:20. > :32:29.under way with a kick that is perilously close to the touch line.

:32:30. > :32:37.All set fair for what should be a terrific second half here, Wigan 0,

:32:38. > :32:40.Castleford 6. So little in it. Who wins it from

:32:41. > :32:44.here? It's a fantastic opportunity for Castleford. But I think we can

:32:45. > :32:50.just see that the weather has cleared a little bit. It's not

:32:51. > :32:53.raining as heavy as it was. Wow, it's been close and a great game.

:32:54. > :32:59.The conditions won't change because it's been, it's very, very wet. The

:33:00. > :33:05.quicking game will be vitally important. It will be interesting to

:33:06. > :33:09.see what Wigan do. Cas look more comfortable, more threatening. Wigan

:33:10. > :33:17.have to step up a bit, cut their mistakes out. They have to change

:33:18. > :33:19.and bring their half backs into it, definitely attack the other half

:33:20. > :33:34.backs, especially Sneyd with -- with Gelling. Another of those

:33:35. > :33:39.nine in the training squad with England. What an impact he's been

:33:40. > :33:43.making this season. It's interesting that first set that Michael McIlorum

:33:44. > :33:46.rushed out of dummy half and put pressure on the kicker. It brought

:33:47. > :33:50.the result that we're seeing, Wigan in the right part of the field.

:33:51. > :33:58.Matty Bowen catches the ball and transfers the ball down field.

:33:59. > :34:08.That's the one. That is the one. They

:34:09. > :34:20.He's going to be caught in possession, is he? The ball has gone

:34:21. > :34:24.to ground. And Castleford have it again.

:34:25. > :34:33.Great play, that is. Desperation to get there.

:34:34. > :34:36.Shenton takes it on. A little bit of disappointment on Shawn's face

:34:37. > :35:04.there. Building pressure will be important this second half.

:35:05. > :35:11.Bowen underneeng it, solid -- underneath it, solid again. Tanya,

:35:12. > :35:15.what news at halftime from the two camps? Daryl Powell very happy with

:35:16. > :35:19.his side, telling them to keep up the focus and pressure. He says they

:35:20. > :35:25.must improve their kicking game that. Will put pressure on Wigan in

:35:26. > :35:28.all areas. Shaun Wane not happy. Completion rate isn't good enough.

:35:29. > :35:31.They're not winning the arm wrestle. We must dominate far better.

:35:32. > :35:43.Penalty. Matty Smith will find touch and puts

:35:44. > :36:16.Wigan, well, less than 30 metres away from that Castleford line.

:36:17. > :36:29.McIlorum picks it up here. It's on. Farrell, misses. Burgess can't keep

:36:30. > :36:33.hold. The line was at his mercy. Again, it's that cut-out pass. Why

:36:34. > :36:39.do you need that there? Hay quick play of the ball. A good run by

:36:40. > :36:44.Bateman. I think he's trying to promote the ball as quickly as he

:36:45. > :36:48.can. It becomes a two on one, rather than three on two, to give the

:36:49. > :36:52.winger the chance to get into the corner with inside defence coming

:36:53. > :36:59.on. Hard to be too critical there. I agree, but they did create the

:37:00. > :37:06.overlap. In a game this tight, you have to finish them.

:37:07. > :37:11.That's gone to ground. Penalty.

:37:12. > :37:17.Interesting chat with a senior referee this week about how much

:37:18. > :37:22.guess work goes on in situations like this. He said it's all about

:37:23. > :37:26.averages, it's the body position of players, as to when it's been lost

:37:27. > :37:31.or stolen. You have to come control of that ball. You can't go in there

:37:32. > :37:34.with a flimsy hold onto it. He didn't do anything, he just fell on

:37:35. > :37:38.it. Castleford with a chance to clear

:37:39. > :37:43.their lines and get back inside this Wigan half again here.

:37:44. > :38:00.Wigan's defence has to be polished. Dorn with a bit of pace here. Oh,

:38:01. > :38:06.Shenton to Sneyd but he went forward. Blew it! Absolutely blew

:38:07. > :38:09.it. They had ripped Wigan wide-open. They were flying through the

:38:10. > :38:18.defence. That's what they've got to do. They have to use Luke Dorn. He

:38:19. > :38:25.has tremendous pace. He goes on the outside. Composure, bad pass. That

:38:26. > :38:30.is a poor pass by Luke Dorn. It's got to be in the bread basket. It's

:38:31. > :38:34.got to be in front of the man. Slightly overrun a little bit.

:38:35. > :38:42.got to be in front of the man. Again, an opportunity missed by

:38:43. > :38:46.Wigan. He thinks so as well. You go 12-0 up, right? It's a big score to

:38:47. > :38:48.pull back. Especially the way they're defending.

:38:49. > :39:09.Wigan survive. Bateman challenging the defenders.

:39:10. > :39:12.Getting a penalty. I just harken back to Daryl Powell's words about

:39:13. > :39:14.taking opportunities in close games like this. Now they're back

:39:15. > :39:17.taking opportunities in close games own try line and Wigan have the

:39:18. > :39:21.taking opportunities in close games opportunity. It's going to be a

:39:22. > :39:26.12-pointer. There's a roar going up round the stadium from the Wigan

:39:27. > :39:32.supporters. Wigan roll forward again here.

:39:33. > :39:49.Good defence. Back it comes down the middle again.

:39:50. > :39:55.Castleford are on their own line here with tackles to go and again,

:39:56. > :40:03.it's a poor pass. Dixon can't keep hold of it. Neither can Burgess. The

:40:04. > :40:17.referee is going to give head and feet to Wigan here. No, Cas. I have

:40:18. > :40:46.no idea what happened there. Not sure, I think he's saying.

:40:47. > :40:53.Ellis has been on the field quite a while now. They're saving Clark up,

:40:54. > :40:57.is this part of the plan and he finishes the game? Clark is not

:40:58. > :41:11.injured. Are they going to bring him on and close the game out?

:41:12. > :41:20.It's a poor, poor kick We've seen again. A few today. What that does

:41:21. > :41:26.is give Wigan terrific advantage here. They get possession back, 30

:41:27. > :41:29.from the Castleford line and a real lift. A side that thought it was

:41:30. > :41:34.going to be defending further down field is now defending. He went for

:41:35. > :41:37.going to be defending further down the 40-20 there. He gave it

:41:38. > :41:39.everything and just slice today. He got the 40-20, just the bounce in

:41:40. > :42:00.between was the problem. Farrell doesn't know where he's

:42:01. > :42:07.going here. Tries to go forward. Farrell doesn't know where he's

:42:08. > :42:17.it halts, temporarily. Bowen waits again.

:42:18. > :42:22.What do Wigan do here? Do they look to keep the pressure on Bowen? It

:42:23. > :42:28.hits the to keep the pressure on Bowen? It

:42:29. > :42:35.player. Wigan will take it. Castleford get the handover. I think

:42:36. > :42:41.Matty Bowen has to attack out wider. Very comfortable Cas at the moment.

:42:42. > :43:01.Big effort required. Wigan desperate to keep Castleford limited.

:43:02. > :43:03.Castleford desperate to escape the clutches, the shackles being put on

:43:04. > :43:27.them in this second half. Again, looking for the gap between

:43:28. > :43:35.the fullback and winger. Make the most of it here.

:43:36. > :43:39.In the first half, when we saw Castleford have three, four, five

:43:40. > :43:43.sets, the ascendency in the right part of the field. That's where I

:43:44. > :43:55.sense Wigan are going to now. Good play of the ball.

:43:56. > :44:01.Bateman battering in. They've slowed that down, the

:44:02. > :44:21.Castleford defenders. The defence has worked very well for

:44:22. > :44:26.Cas. They have struggled out wide. The final tackle. That's rushed.

:44:27. > :44:39.It's poor. Dixon. Oh, if he got Great tack away. Le. Had to be made.

:44:40. > :44:47.Great tackle that is. He was away. Here comes Dixon with a second

:44:48. > :44:51.opportunity. The outstretched arms of Burgess track him down. Look how

:44:52. > :44:54.many yards Castleford have chewed up in this set already. There's still

:44:55. > :45:06.more to come. He's in. ( in this set already. There's still

:45:07. > :45:14.Manfredi. That's a fantastic set for Castleford.

:45:15. > :45:16.Again, it was a poor kick from Wigan, which give Castleford the

:45:17. > :45:20.momentum and look where they've Wigan, which give Castleford the

:45:21. > :45:24.ended up. Great set. Great football from Castleford prepared to move the

:45:25. > :45:29.ball down the short side first, then coming back towards the middle.

:45:30. > :45:32.You're right it's on the back of two poor kicks that they're getting the

:45:33. > :45:40.advantage. That's all it is. The difference here could be Dorn or

:45:41. > :45:45.Bowen. Those two players. Well, there's a noise around this stadium

:45:46. > :45:55.now from both sets of supporters. It's a great cup match. An important

:45:56. > :46:06.spell of the game here. Mariano is immense with his balance falls. --

:46:07. > :46:12.gallant fall. That is the worst pass we have seen all day! I think he

:46:13. > :46:17.made the right play, it was just the execution. A good thing that

:46:18. > :46:21.Castleford through that blind, because they had the numbers. He

:46:22. > :46:35.knows. He is smart enough. What are you saying down on the

:46:36. > :46:42.touchline? The opening 30 minutes of the second half has been relentless

:46:43. > :46:49.-- 13 minutes. Now some of the players have drifted back to the

:46:50. > :46:50.bench. We had full set of Serbs on the sidelines, trying to get onto

:46:51. > :47:01.the pitch themselves. It is not that from appear. But

:47:02. > :47:26.still, 6-0 to Castleford. Here comes a kick from Matty Smith.

:47:27. > :47:33.Spinning end over end, goes up underneath in. He has lost it. It is

:47:34. > :47:37.knocked forward. We didn't get the result. Every geeky but in the air

:47:38. > :47:40.you should be able to compete for and that's the result you get. --

:47:41. > :47:58.every kick you put-in the air. Great pressure from Matty Bowen. He

:47:59. > :48:06.probably saw him in his eyeliner. A chance for Wigan. Ten metres out.

:48:07. > :48:12.Five more titles for Castleford to complete, five more opportunities

:48:13. > :48:22.for Wigan to attack. Definitely building the pressure.

:48:23. > :48:31.He drives it over, but I do not think he has got it down, but he has

:48:32. > :48:43.got a penalty. All steel over the line -- ball steel.

:48:44. > :48:50.He had to get underneath him, didn't he? Yes. He wants to play it

:48:51. > :49:09.quickly. Very nearly a captain's knock.

:49:10. > :49:17.McIlorum from dummy half. Here it comes back to Matty Smith, some

:49:18. > :49:28.depth on it now. Oliver Holmes is always it -- all over it. Here comes

:49:29. > :49:32.Bateman. They have gone through five tackles again here, Wigan. It is

:49:33. > :49:41.going down the right side! Not quite! I thought he was in. I

:49:42. > :49:45.thought he was in as well. He is not going to get closer and not score.

:49:46. > :49:55.But he did not quite get close enough. Castleford's defence.

:49:56. > :50:03.Wigan want to keep Castleford as close as they can.

:50:04. > :50:09.Castleford the ball in hand, but Wigan's

:50:10. > :50:16.defence will not let this opportunity slip easily. In the last

:50:17. > :50:24.five minutes, Sean O'Loughlin has stepped up.

:50:25. > :50:30.He will bring this back with interest and label start another

:50:31. > :50:35.offensive set. They are nearly in the Castleford half, so relentless

:50:36. > :50:45.pressure from within in the second half. -- from Wigan.

:50:46. > :50:52.Missing a little bit of match fitness. This is good from

:50:53. > :51:00.Sarginson. It is kicked away by Williams. Oliver Holmes. A try

:51:01. > :51:08.saving tackle. They have to go left, they have to score. Out it goes.

:51:09. > :51:22.I thought there was a deflection there, slowing the ball down.

:51:23. > :51:27.Five tackles gone. Last play again. Smith with a kick to the corner. It

:51:28. > :51:37.is clear that... Brilliant from both teams,

:51:38. > :51:44.excitement, kicking, catching, six Brilliant from both teams,

:51:45. > :51:50.more plays. Castleford are being tested to the max here. Great play

:51:51. > :51:53.by James Clare, because you think that Anthony Gelling has got the

:51:54. > :51:55.jump on him. Great defence again by Oliver Holmes, great play by both

:51:56. > :52:14.sides. What a great game. Oliver Holmes, great play by both

:52:15. > :52:18.half. And Marc Sneyd's goal. That is all that separates. A

:52:19. > :52:20.half. And Marc Sneyd's goal. That is towards the touchline, but those

:52:21. > :52:25.with well enough by Dominic Manfredi. There are so many in this

:52:26. > :53:12.Wigan line-up he can make a claim. James Clare has made a good recovery

:53:13. > :53:19.there. Hold your breath. This is a terrific game. 60 minutes played,

:53:20. > :53:33.just under. Wigan are dominating the second half. 75% territory.

:53:34. > :53:49.20 minutes to go. It is still anybody's cup tie.

:53:50. > :53:57.Not sure what that kick is all about. I think it is Matty Smith

:53:58. > :54:06.underneath there who has got it back for Wigan again. Some desperation on

:54:07. > :54:14.both sides there. At least Castleford are further down the

:54:15. > :54:20.field. A bit of respite for Castleford. There is a bit of

:54:21. > :54:35.bunching in the middle of the field here from within. A bit tight.

:54:36. > :54:52.Balance of probabilities. He had given it as a steal. Yes, a steal.

:54:53. > :55:00.Good call. We can come again -- Wigan come again.

:55:01. > :55:20.Matty Smith bring on with intent, but shot down. Anthony Gelling

:55:21. > :55:25.shuffles into dummy half quickly. A curtain of defenders that keeps

:55:26. > :55:28.closing. There are still a couple of tackles to go here again. Here is

:55:29. > :55:46.Matty Smith once more. Farrell Winslet! They finally find a

:55:47. > :55:55.weakness in the Castleford line. Wigan are right back in the cup tie

:55:56. > :56:02.against. Relentless pressure. A good finish from Liam Farrell.

:56:03. > :56:13.Magnificent defensive effort, Castleford. But something had to

:56:14. > :56:17.give. Here is the first penalty that gets him into the field position.

:56:18. > :56:24.Sean O'Loughlin is making increasing presence in this game, and here is

:56:25. > :56:29.the ball. A great catch at the line. I think it is Webster and Liam

:56:30. > :56:33.Finn, Liam Farrell spins around. He gets through. A great catch in the

:56:34. > :56:38.first place, and a result of all the pressure that Wigan have had in this

:56:39. > :56:47.second half. Good upper body effort there from Liam Finn. A game of fine

:56:48. > :56:53.lines, this one. Farrell's involvement there was vital, but how

:56:54. > :56:58.big a moment is this for Matty Smith? Wigan are still behind.

:56:59. > :57:03.Castleford still have a slight advantage. The boot of Matty Smith

:57:04. > :57:11.could draw them level again here, Wigan. A huge kick. In the context

:57:12. > :57:21.of this cup tie, and he has put it wide. He has pushed it wide. And so

:57:22. > :57:29.Wigan are still behind. Castleford are still hanging on. Here is the

:57:30. > :57:37.play again, brilliant play from Sean O'Loughlin, a ball, keeps his feet

:57:38. > :57:39.moving. He gets the ball over the line, and that is what it means to

:57:40. > :57:53.be Wigan coaching staff. A tired attempt for a conversion

:57:54. > :58:04.from Matty Smith. That was what you would have thought he would have

:58:05. > :58:10.got. Daryl Clark is back on here. 60 minutes of the cup tie remaining. An

:58:11. > :58:18.absolute cracker Jack. Yes, a brilliant game. They need

:58:19. > :58:24.possession, they need field position now, Castleford. I do not think they

:58:25. > :58:29.have kicked the ball as well in this half.

:58:30. > :58:33.McIlorum might have been looking for a penalty there, but he's not going

:58:34. > :59:08.to get it. Some tired bodies out there. It is

:59:09. > :59:16.Castleford's turn to limp back. 15 minutes left to play. He was going

:59:17. > :59:20.to win this? It is going to be very interesting, purely because, when

:59:21. > :59:29.you get tired, concentration goes, wrong decisions are made.

:59:30. > :59:37.Castleford were involved in a hard raking cup tie in a semifinal couple

:59:38. > :59:43.of years ago, against Leeds. Kevin Sinfield's boot taught the heart out

:59:44. > :59:46.of them. One or two matka in this team today and will remember that

:59:47. > :00:01.day. When they get tired like this, it

:00:02. > :00:37.becomes about discipline and not giving away penalties.

:00:38. > :00:42.I've got Josh Charnley with me. What do Wigan have to do to win this? We

:00:43. > :00:47.need a bit more energy around the rook. Castleford have a lot of

:00:48. > :00:52.energy. They come to our ground with a bit of confidence much we need to

:00:53. > :00:57.step it up a bit and have a bit more conviction. Where are you

:00:58. > :01:00.injury-wise? I've had a full week training with the boys. Get back

:01:01. > :01:04.playing and match Disappointed not fit. To be out there? Yeah, it's one

:01:05. > :01:05.of those games, you want to do something but you can't. You have to

:01:06. > :01:14.sit there and watch it. Two sides this year who have proved

:01:15. > :01:22.their pedigree, week in, week in the Super League.

:01:23. > :02:11.They're doing it again here in the cup.

:02:12. > :02:16.It's been relentless this second half from Wigan. They've really been

:02:17. > :02:20.patient and hoping that one of the Castleford players cracks and a few

:02:21. > :02:24.hands on knees in the yellow jumpers out there. Cas have to find energy

:02:25. > :02:34.somewhere. That's a relieving penalty for them.

:02:35. > :02:42.I think it's a relief for everyone. Everyone can get some air back in

:02:43. > :02:50.their lungs here. It's a nervous Castleford back-room

:02:51. > :02:53.staff. Daryl Powell their coach. Equally the Wigan camp and

:02:54. > :02:55.staff. Daryl Powell their coach. Wane. Not too far away from each

:02:56. > :03:10.other, looking down. They're looking for a good end to

:03:11. > :03:41.the set here, Castleford. What a pass! What about that try!

:03:42. > :03:46.might be a match winner. Kirk Dixon is in. But the

:03:47. > :03:53.might be a match winner. Kirk Dixon pass from Webster. He's injured

:03:54. > :03:54.might be a match winner. Kirk Dixon well, Webster. It needed a

:03:55. > :03:59.might be a match winner. Kirk Dixon brilliance, a bit of magic. They've

:04:00. > :04:04.been under the cosh. Miracle pass. Great take. A brilliant try. How

:04:05. > :04:11.important will that conversion be, the missed conversion? This is a big

:04:12. > :04:14.conversion now. Here's the penalty that gives Castleford field

:04:15. > :04:18.position. They haven't had any. They get their field position and get to

:04:19. > :04:23.the right end of the field. This is brilliant. Dorn and Webster at the

:04:24. > :04:29.end of this. The pace of Dorn gives Webster a running chance. ' Tracts

:04:30. > :04:37.the winger, Manfredi. Dixon just has to finish, a fair catch from Dixon.

:04:38. > :04:45.Brilliant catch. Drawn in a split second. This is it. Goes in, takes

:04:46. > :04:55.two. Great pass. Great take. Good finish. That's a big score.

:04:56. > :05:03.Absolutely massive. As Jonathan was saying, this kick now is potentially

:05:04. > :05:09.the moment. We've mentioned his unusual kicking style. This is the

:05:10. > :05:16.right side of the field for him. So the angle will be a lot better

:05:17. > :05:25.for him to just curl it in. Big kick. Right from the touchline, if

:05:26. > :05:29.he puts this over, the scoreline at the moment, 10-4, so a try and a

:05:30. > :05:31.goal for Wigan would put them level. If Marc Sneyd puts this over, then

:05:32. > :05:35.Wigan would have to score twice. He's not being rude turning his back

:05:36. > :05:57.on the sticks, it's his style. No. Not this time.? It's still a

:05:58. > :06:05.six-point game. Try and a goal puts Wigan level. Great hands. The front

:06:06. > :06:09.rowers again, Huby releasing. Watch this right hand, flick pass. Had to

:06:10. > :06:14.be caught by Dixon. That's a good take.

:06:15. > :06:22.Here we go, last ten minutes of the game. Last nine minutes of the game.

:06:23. > :06:27.How does it unfold from here. Jamie, have you got any clues? I think this

:06:28. > :06:30.last ten minutes, we going to see if Castleford are the real deal. I was

:06:31. > :06:36.questioning earlier before they scored, can they beat these top-four

:06:37. > :06:41.teams when it really matters? That try seems to have answered it. They

:06:42. > :06:42.need the belief now to get on to the semifinals. It will be an

:06:43. > :06:49.interesting last ten If Wigan minutes. Get six points and no more,

:06:50. > :06:57.we would be into golden point, extra time.

:06:58. > :07:18.They are getting a bit of purchase now.

:07:19. > :07:25.Burgess underneath it, catches it, safely enough.

:07:26. > :07:31.They're at the right end of the field. They'll be concentrating on

:07:32. > :07:34.their defence and discipline, as we mentioned earlier. It's Wigan's

:07:35. > :07:37.challenge to get to the other end of the field. They're chasing the game

:07:38. > :07:44.now, Wigan. The clock's against them. The last time Wigan lost the

:07:45. > :07:50.cup tie at home was in 1986, when Castleford beat them 10-2.

:07:51. > :07:57.28 years later, and Castleford are winning by 10-4.

:07:58. > :08:06.It's a little bit of history, about to repeat itself. Or can Wigan go

:08:07. > :08:07.back to the well and find a way back into this contest? They had the

:08:08. > :08:23.chance there to give it. Dorn has taken it very well. Great

:08:24. > :08:25.catch. Return it's with interest. They get a penalty. That's what they

:08:26. > :08:44.want. When Cas won in '86, they went all

:08:45. > :08:51.the way to Wembley that year. They're in the semifinals, still a

:08:52. > :08:54.massive if, if they win here today. ( Wigan, the cup holders, will not

:08:55. > :09:31.let it go lightly. Field goal is on as well. If nothing

:09:32. > :09:37.comes in the last tackle. Drop goal. The kicking essential.

:09:38. > :09:54.Never got it off the ground. It was a drop-goal attempt chance. Was it

:09:55. > :10:00.too rushed? I think it was. Didn't set himself up. Needed a

:10:01. > :10:09.right-footed kicker there. He had plenty of time.

:10:10. > :10:13.They need to get it to the other side of the They're cape field.

:10:14. > :10:21.Able. Sneyd marshalling his troops from

:10:22. > :11:14.dummy half here. They're not risking much here. We're

:11:15. > :11:18.all nervous on the gantry for them and for Wigan. Both good teams.

:11:19. > :11:24.They've played really well. Oh, he's gone through! The chip over

:11:25. > :11:31.the top. Farrell, all he can do is diffuse it and put it behind.

:11:32. > :11:46.There's an injury. A clash of heads. They believe at the moment. The

:11:47. > :12:00.question is, do Wigan believe they can get back in it?

:12:01. > :12:10.It's Castleford head and feet here, I think? Yes. Wigan rushing because

:12:11. > :12:15.they want to stop the clock. They need as much time as possible.

:12:16. > :12:18.That's the reason why. The decided it was a knock-on. Yes, knock-on

:12:19. > :12:37.from Burgess. Castleford are happy to have

:12:38. > :12:42.breather here, reddying themselves up for six more

:12:43. > :12:48.line. One score away from confirmation of

:12:49. > :12:52.glory. Wigan are hanging on here. They're desperate not to let that

:12:53. > :12:56.Challenge Cup slip away from their grasp.

:12:57. > :13:09.Cas are going to take some stopping now.

:13:10. > :13:29.He's over to win it. He only lives a couple of miles up the road but he's

:13:30. > :13:34.Pennines, with a try couple of miles up the road but he's

:13:35. > :13:42.Castleford a place in the semifinals.

:13:43. > :13:49.Like a boxer on the ropes much they were under the cosh for most of the

:13:50. > :13:51.second half. They have come back, two

:13:52. > :13:54.second half. They have come back, They're going to the semifinal of

:13:55. > :13:58.second half. They have come back, the Challenge Cup. Here's the

:13:59. > :14:01.knock-on from Burgess that gave them the field

:14:02. > :14:05.knock-on from Burgess that gave them worried about a drop goal. Williams

:14:06. > :14:12.steps out on the line there. Jewitt picks the ball and says, "I'm over!"

:14:13. > :14:16.He is, he's over. What a score. We're going to Wembley.

:14:17. > :14:21.He is, he's over. What a score. That's the chant from those

:14:22. > :14:25.Castleford fans. It has been an extraordinary year for Daryl Powell

:14:26. > :14:30.and his side. They've been ripping up the form book in the Super League

:14:31. > :14:35.on a consistent basis, now they have come to the cup holders and snatched

:14:36. > :14:38.their place in the Challenge Cup semifinals. They're doing it the

:14:39. > :14:39.hard way, but semifinals. They're doing it the

:14:40. > :14:54.wonderfully well. They've not seen days like these for

:14:55. > :15:03.an awful long time, those Castleford fans.

:15:04. > :15:09.Jamie Peacock posed the question: Are Cas the real deal? They are now.

:15:10. > :15:12.They've answered the question. They've answered Jamie's questions,

:15:13. > :15:16.the pundits' questions. They've done it tough for 30 minutes of this

:15:17. > :15:22.second half. They have. On a joint track as well, they're going to be,

:15:23. > :15:29.you know, even tougher to beat. Lee Jewitt very much the local hero,

:15:30. > :15:38.but not for the local team. Great dummy, wasn't it? Threw it out

:15:39. > :15:41.there. There is a bit of terrific sportsmanship. Good to see Shaun

:15:42. > :16:02.Wane shaking hands there. It has gone to ground. It has kept

:16:03. > :16:13.on. It is game over for sure. Castleford

:16:14. > :16:31.think so. I am not sure they are going to get

:16:32. > :16:39.the scrum down. Michael Shenton is having a word with the referee.

:16:40. > :16:40.There is Daryl Powell. What a fantastic year, a fantastic season

:16:41. > :16:57.he is having. Daryl Powell must be right up there

:16:58. > :17:11.in Iraq and in off the coaches -- in the reckoning of the coaches. A

:17:12. > :17:19.great effort. Little things, the magic pass under the back.

:17:20. > :17:22.Castleford certainly deserve it. Let's here from Daryl Powell, the

:17:23. > :17:27.winning coach. You have had some great days in the

:17:28. > :17:32.game. Where does this rate? And unbelievable effort in the second

:17:33. > :17:35.half. I thought we were by far the better team in the first half, but

:17:36. > :17:46.you do what we did in the second half was unbelievable. A fantastic

:17:47. > :17:51.effort from the boys. We were told beforehand there would not be many

:17:52. > :17:59.points. Tough conditions for a large part of the game, so it was ethical

:18:00. > :18:05.to control the ball. Our attacking play was superb. Overall, I am so

:18:06. > :18:12.delighted with the players and their effort. What could this win do for

:18:13. > :18:15.you for the rest of this season? We are a genuine team. It is more

:18:16. > :18:19.belief in the players and recognising who we are. If we

:18:20. > :18:23.continue to perform with that effort and the ability we have in the team,

:18:24. > :18:27.who knows? We want to be challenging for things, and we will keep our

:18:28. > :18:33.feet on the ground and keep doing the job. Well done. The man of the

:18:34. > :18:39.match, Oliver Holmes, congratulations. Daryl Powell was

:18:40. > :18:46.saying it was the defence that would hit. We are really proud of

:18:47. > :18:54.ourselves. We said it would be a tough gig at Wigan. Where is the

:18:55. > :18:58.confidence and be self belief coming from in this team? Just the fact

:18:59. > :19:06.that we play in front of each other. We are a tighten its grip. We work

:19:07. > :19:12.hard for each other and that is where the confidence comes from.

:19:13. > :19:17.Many congratulations. Luke Dorn, what was your game like? Incredible.

:19:18. > :19:21.We knew it would be tough, especially against the champions at

:19:22. > :19:28.Wigan. But the boys were outstanding. How much will this ruck

:19:29. > :19:34.the rugby world? I don't know about ruck the world, but it will give us

:19:35. > :19:42.a boost. We are happy that we have won this game. Our coach is very

:19:43. > :19:48.passionate about what he believes in, Rugby League, and that flows

:19:49. > :19:51.through the team. He has been great for our group and we owe a lot to

:19:52. > :19:57.him. Enjoy the celebrations. Thank you very much. Shaun Wane,

:19:58. > :20:01.commiserations. What was the difference between the two sites

:20:02. > :20:09.today? They completed their sets better. They were the better team.

:20:10. > :20:15.We were beaten by the better team, no doubt about that. They deserve to

:20:16. > :20:24.be in their fight -- the semifinals and we don't. We should be

:20:25. > :20:29.completing sets better. We have given ourselves a lot to do. We

:20:30. > :20:33.could have been better in the first half. But I don't want to take

:20:34. > :20:39.anything away from them. They controlled the rug speed very well

:20:40. > :20:46.-- the rocks speed very well. That is what you get when you play

:20:47. > :20:57.Castleford. The best team won. They did what they needed to do.

:20:58. > :21:03.Castleford fans are going to stay there and celebrate. Their players

:21:04. > :21:12.at the moment are having a celebratory photographs in front of

:21:13. > :21:16.those fans, and I would imagine that will dominate the media in Yorkshire

:21:17. > :21:20.over the next few days. Jamie Peacock, as Shaun Wane said, they

:21:21. > :21:31.deserved it and they were the better side. Castleford's defence was

:21:32. > :21:36.awesome. It was inspiring watching them defend and the commitment they

:21:37. > :21:39.showed. It allowed them to go on and win. That was

:21:40. > :21:44.showed. It allowed them to go on and Oliver Holmes tackle. Every right to

:21:45. > :21:49.score. No reason to make that defensive play, but he went back and

:21:50. > :21:55.he did. It is all effort and commitment to each other. These are

:21:56. > :22:00.the things that inform team spirit. This is why Castleford's has a

:22:01. > :22:04.strong team spirit. You have to dip into that reserve you didn't know

:22:05. > :22:07.you had, find that desire and find special play to help your team out.

:22:08. > :22:14.Oliver Holmes are certainly did that. We spoke about bigger and

:22:15. > :22:19.verve. You sense that as a coach in the opposition sometimes? That your

:22:20. > :22:23.opponents have got more energy? Wigan came back well in the second

:22:24. > :22:26.half, and the energy that Castleford showed when they had no right to

:22:27. > :22:30.have that energy, it is that teams are at an camaraderie for each other

:22:31. > :22:34.that brings it out, you see that within a team. You see that extra

:22:35. > :22:40.effort. You think, if he is doing it, I have to do it and stand up to

:22:41. > :22:43.the plate as well. Yes, it is infectious. You cannot underestimate

:22:44. > :22:49.what the errors in the first half cost Wigan in terms of energy. You

:22:50. > :22:53.have to credit Castleford with keeping them out in a 20 minute

:22:54. > :23:01.spell where they were penned in their own half. They got out of that

:23:02. > :23:05.half, and that is the sign of a great site. It looks like Shaun Wane

:23:06. > :23:11.is going to gather his thoughts before he speaks to his players.

:23:12. > :23:21.How special weather moments with the fans at the end? Fantastic. That is

:23:22. > :23:26.what you play the Game four. I am thankful that we came out the back

:23:27. > :23:40.end of it. Talkers through that try. It was pretty skilful. Quite a

:23:41. > :23:45.good catch, because that was a difficult one to date. I put some

:23:46. > :23:49.live on my hands before the game because of the conditions. A

:23:50. > :23:54.fantastic game and I am glad we have come through all right. You have

:23:55. > :23:58.been at this club 40 years. What is the difference this year? As soon as

:23:59. > :24:04.Daryl Powell came in, he took it away and stick this together. He has

:24:05. > :24:05.got that unity and he has got everyone singing off the same hymn

:24:06. > :24:12.sheet. I hope we everyone singing off the same hymn

:24:13. > :24:15.proud. If you could pick somebody in the semifinals, he would you pick? I

:24:16. > :24:19.don't No. Anybody is the semifinals, he would you pick? I

:24:20. > :24:20.tough, or fantastic teams. We are just happy to be in the draw fire

:24:21. > :24:37.stop. This was his try. They were lacking

:24:38. > :24:41.the pace on the ball. The lack of pressure allows the attacking player

:24:42. > :24:46.to get to where he wants to. It pulls Sarginson in, you pinch is in

:24:47. > :24:49.and has to check that defender. You have to give Jake

:24:50. > :24:49.and has to check that defender. You credit here, because

:24:50. > :24:51.and has to check that defender. You be attracted because of the quality

:24:52. > :24:57.of his run. be attracted because of the quality

:24:58. > :25:04.here. Dixon is massively be attracted because of the quality

:25:05. > :25:09.behind your back. And skirting down the touchline like that. Quality

:25:10. > :25:13.Centre played to a quality catch by a great winger. We were up one hour

:25:14. > :25:22.feet appear because of the skill that we saw. He had his jaw broken

:25:23. > :25:28.earlier. Some payback, and some! A fabulous finish. The concentration

:25:29. > :25:34.and attention to detail that takes from Webster. We would like to speak

:25:35. > :25:39.about the three front rows, Millington, Lynch and Huby were

:25:40. > :25:44.fantastic. My position, to earn respect, you have to play tough, and

:25:45. > :25:50.you have to be able to play. They did that. They have been good all

:25:51. > :25:53.year for Castleford, those three. And if you are talking tough in

:25:54. > :25:57.general, delicately handling for the try their, but their defence, the

:25:58. > :25:59.first 20 minutes in that second half, we stood over the try-line

:26:00. > :26:03.here, they were so strong. half, we stood over the try-line

:26:04. > :26:09.but underneath Sean O'Loughlin there and had to make the play at the

:26:10. > :26:13.ball. Inches from the line, and look at the scramble from Jamie Ellis,

:26:14. > :26:24.and then Mariano getting off his backside and defending the same. --

:26:25. > :26:31.defending the line. Millington the same. When you care about your

:26:32. > :26:37.team-mates, you go out of your way to do that little bit extra. The

:26:38. > :26:40.defence was impressive, but what was more impressive was how they

:26:41. > :26:43.counterpunch to. They got out of their half following this period of

:26:44. > :26:49.pressure. That is so difficult to do. When it feels like your lungs

:26:50. > :26:54.are exploding, you cannot get out of your own half, but that is what they

:26:55. > :26:59.did. This is what world-class sides do! Sing songs like this. The table

:27:00. > :27:05.has gone. They are celebrating so much that the table has gone. The

:27:06. > :27:09.trestle table has fallen over. While they continue to celebrate, let's

:27:10. > :27:14.look at the Lee Jewitt is tried, the icing on the cake for Castleford.

:27:15. > :27:20.The main threat here is the ball. The Wigan players are all charging.

:27:21. > :27:28.You can't score unless you have got the ball. One of your team-mates

:27:29. > :27:34.scored a similar try last night. That is two lapses by two teams, but

:27:35. > :27:37.a great try for Lee Jewitt. The threat is where the ball is. The

:27:38. > :27:45.discussion will continue on the red button. You can get involved on

:27:46. > :27:52.Twitter or on Facebook. We will see you tomorrow as well on BBC Two when

:27:53. > :27:58.we will be at the Bradford Wigan -- Warrington game. The players were on

:27:59. > :28:04.their horns that the end. A successful club, and they knew they

:28:05. > :28:08.were in for a tough game, but they would not have wanted that was Zol.

:28:09. > :28:14.Full credit Castleford, they defended magnificently. Castleford

:28:15. > :28:19.were the deserving winners. It will hurt Wigan, but they will have to

:28:20. > :28:23.bounce back. Thank you to all of you here on BBC One. We will see you

:28:24. > :28:28.here on BBC Two tomorrow. Join us on the red button or on Twitter.

:28:29. > :28:30.Castleford one step closer to Wembley. We will see you tomorrow.
