:00:52. > :01:04.Warrington take on the Leeds Rhinos in the first of the Challenge Cup
:01:05. > :01:09.semifinals. The fans are coming in in their thousands. The teams have
:01:10. > :01:15.arrived. Ben Westwood from Warrington getting a good look case.
:01:16. > :01:21.A huge welcome for the Leeds Rhinos. Kevin Sinfield back in the side. Up
:01:22. > :01:26.for grabs a place at Wembley and the chance to lift this famous trophy.
:01:27. > :01:28.Warrington have done it three times in the last five years. Leeds Rhinos
:01:29. > :02:39.have had a different experience. Leeds. The Warrington players have
:02:40. > :02:44.come out to do their warm up. The Rhinos coming out as well. You can
:02:45. > :02:51.contact us throughout the afternoon on social media. We have a very
:02:52. > :03:00.special guest with us this afternoon, who knows something about
:03:01. > :03:13.winning the Challenge Cup. One of the fastest forwards in world
:03:14. > :03:27.rugby. Denis Betts... He is going for the line! He is in!
:03:28. > :03:33.It is Denis Betts! A very big welcome to the Widnes
:03:34. > :03:39.coach Dennis Betts. You have not aged a bit. Alongside him we have
:03:40. > :03:42.Pharrell Crabtree and Brian Noble. I was just about to say I have aged
:03:43. > :03:53.really well! Some great pictures there. A great feeling. I can still
:03:54. > :03:57.feel the same excitement now. The anticipation, this is a big game.
:03:58. > :04:02.Really exciting. Tomorrow you will be getting your site ready to send
:04:03. > :04:05.them out against Castleford. Are the nerves jangling? I am enjoying being
:04:06. > :04:14.here today because there is nothing at stake! We have worked hard this
:04:15. > :04:18.week. We have expectation about being successful instead of anxiety
:04:19. > :04:25.about not. It is a big game for the club. We will look ahead to that one
:04:26. > :04:33.at half-time. What about this game? Can you call it? It is very close.
:04:34. > :04:36.It is going to be a great game. You have two contrasting styles. Teams
:04:37. > :04:40.who want to play with the ball. Coaches who know each other Inside
:04:41. > :04:49.Out. They have got very similar philosophies. They heighten the
:04:50. > :04:56.skill. It will be an exciting day. Do you expect this to be really
:04:57. > :05:01.tight, Brian? Really close. Neither team will change their philosophy.
:05:02. > :05:05.They both like to play football. The difference may be the decision one
:05:06. > :05:13.player makes, whether to flowed, whether to play or not. You have to
:05:14. > :05:16.be clinical at times. The bounce of the ball today is going to be
:05:17. > :05:23.absolutely vital and the decision-making process. We alluded
:05:24. > :05:28.in the opening two Leeds's recent history. They wanted so much. Is
:05:29. > :05:34.that the dilemma for them, that they almost wanted too much? You could
:05:35. > :05:37.say that. It is down to the experiences of the players
:05:38. > :05:41.themselves. They will use that as motivation to get to the final.
:05:42. > :05:47.Whoever they meet, if they do get there, I going to be fantastic
:05:48. > :05:50.themselves. They are the big performances where you need to put
:05:51. > :05:57.it in on the day. For a Leeds it has not happened. Warrington at the
:05:58. > :06:03.Kings of the Challenge Cup. They know how to get through this game,
:06:04. > :06:11.Leeds? That is exactly it. Semifinals out what they do best.
:06:12. > :06:15.Leeds every single time, they get into these games and they are
:06:16. > :06:21.nowhere near. There were a couple of games where they got close. A lot of
:06:22. > :06:25.it was down to the weather. This year could be different. They will
:06:26. > :06:29.use the experience yet again to get there. Then it is about putting in
:06:30. > :06:35.the performance which seems to have been missing in the past. Lets see
:06:36. > :06:40.where they sit in the Super League table. Leeds in third. Warrington
:06:41. > :06:46.had a difficult start to the season but they have picked up. Let's hear
:06:47. > :06:51.now from the Leeds Rhinos coach, Brian McDermott.
:06:52. > :06:56.Brian, the big names you arrested last week all return. Your captain
:06:57. > :07:02.is back as well. How much does Kevin Sinfield enhance this team? He
:07:03. > :07:10.certainly enhances it. It is not all about Kevin. We have got some names
:07:11. > :07:13.back in the team. Whoever is on the field will have to perform today. It
:07:14. > :07:17.is not about who is on the team sheet, we have two string a
:07:18. > :07:20.performance together against a good Warrington team that has a great
:07:21. > :07:27.success rate in this competition. They have enjoyed huge success in
:07:28. > :07:30.this competition. Is it a different proposition playing them here in the
:07:31. > :07:35.semifinal rather than at Wembley in the final? There is a difference.
:07:36. > :07:43.The fact remains you have to play well. I suppose we are not under the
:07:44. > :07:47.spotlight as such, although everywhere you look there is a
:07:48. > :07:52.camera. It is a little bit different. There will not be as many
:07:53. > :07:56.people. It is not Wembley. The effects of Wembley can have a
:07:57. > :08:00.bearing on people's performance. A slight change. We have to play well.
:08:01. > :08:05.That does not change. That still remains.
:08:06. > :08:10.Kevin Sinfield back. Who else do we need to look out for? It is a
:08:11. > :08:19.star-studded line-up. Jack Hardaker back. Briscoe and Hall, current
:08:20. > :08:25.internationals. When they get the opportunity to finish, they will.
:08:26. > :08:32.Exciting centre partnership. Kallum Watkins and Joel Moon. And there he
:08:33. > :08:36.is, Kevin Sinfield, pivotal to whatever leads want to achieve.
:08:37. > :08:43.Watch Danny McGuire on the back of any thing that Jamie Peacock doors.
:08:44. > :08:53.An experienced front row, Jamie Peacock, Rob Burrow and Leuluai. He
:08:54. > :08:59.will try to find some early ball for this leads team. An experienced back
:09:00. > :09:09.three. Carl Ablett always produces something in the big game. Paul
:09:10. > :09:16.Aiton coming off the bench and Ryan Bailie -- Bailey.
:09:17. > :09:26.What is going to be the game plan for the Leeds Rhinos? Let us talk to
:09:27. > :09:29.Robbie and Paul. I am studying the middle of Langtree Park. It is
:09:30. > :09:35.gorgeous here. We will have a look at both of these squads. So much
:09:36. > :09:40.international class. I want to focus on a couple of players. Danny
:09:41. > :09:46.McGuire over there. And that is Rob Burrow. One of the most devastating
:09:47. > :09:54.strike forces the Super League has ever seen. He is four foot nothing,
:09:55. > :10:00.yet he plays in a big man's sport. When he gets the ball in hand, keep
:10:01. > :10:05.your eyes on him. We have just been talking about Kevin Sinfield. I will
:10:06. > :10:08.see if I can grab his attention. Kevin, can I ask you a quick
:10:09. > :10:13.question on how you think the preparation has gone? Preparation
:10:14. > :10:17.has gone really well. As you know Robbie, it is about what we do
:10:18. > :10:24.today. Looking forward to it. Good luck. He will be moving them around
:10:25. > :10:29.the field. If he does his job well today you could be looking at the
:10:30. > :10:37.finalists. Robbie, you are actually bigger than Rob Burrow? You have not
:10:38. > :10:41.got heels on again? This is just to make me feel better! Rob is down
:10:42. > :10:47.about here. If I take my heels off, we are on even par.
:10:48. > :10:53.We talked about Kevin Sinfield. Shock waves through the game with
:10:54. > :11:00.the headbutt. Looking on, was it just that it was Kevin Sinfield that
:11:01. > :11:12.did this? It is a shock because Kevin is so composed. Who knows what
:11:13. > :11:18.was said to him? It is great to see him in these big games. You want
:11:19. > :11:24.your best players. It is really good for the game. At least we know he is
:11:25. > :11:29.not a machine now. He has got feelings like the rest of us. When
:11:30. > :11:37.you headbutt an Australian, it is not too bad in my book! He is key
:11:38. > :11:42.though, isn't he? Of course ears. He will marshal them around the field
:11:43. > :11:46.his knowledge of the game and how to play the game and do the right
:11:47. > :11:50.things at the right time, if they do not have him in the team they are
:11:51. > :11:55.not as organised, they do not kick at the right times. They defend
:11:56. > :12:00.really well with him in the side. He makes that big difference to the
:12:01. > :12:04.team. Also, they seem to perform better as a unit. They work harder
:12:05. > :12:10.and seem to have more professionalism will stop They
:12:11. > :12:15.rested a lot of players last week but lost against Bradford. Is that
:12:16. > :12:20.the gamble for Brian McDermott, that you do not go into this with
:12:21. > :12:25.momentum? No team likes to lose but Leeds were ordinary on the night.
:12:26. > :12:31.Everything Bradford kicked at them Leeds managed to find a way to drop
:12:32. > :12:36.the ball. Bradford were very rigorous. -- vigorous. They are
:12:37. > :12:40.relegated. You can see how much the local derby meant to them. Brian
:12:41. > :12:48.will be disappointed but it will not effect today. Tony Smith is a former
:12:49. > :12:51.Leeds Rhinos coach. He joined Warrington in 2009, the first year
:12:52. > :12:54.they lifted the Challenge Cup. It is fair to say the competition means a
:12:55. > :13:24.lot to this Warrington side. Three wins in four years.
:13:25. > :13:28.For those involved in any of those three, they remember what it was
:13:29. > :13:32.like. That is a great incentive to get back there and do it again. For
:13:33. > :13:36.those who have not been involved, I think they get the message from the
:13:37. > :13:39.players who have been there and they would like to taste that success as
:13:40. > :13:47.well. You have to perform well each game. The Challenge Cup is not like
:13:48. > :13:56.regular competitions. It is all or nothing. There are some big game
:13:57. > :13:59.players in our team. It has been a transition period. It probably
:14:00. > :14:06.showed at the beginning of the year. We have come through now. The
:14:07. > :14:09.preparation has been good. We have a special relationship with the
:14:10. > :14:11.Challenge Cup. Three years out of five is pretty good going.
:14:12. > :14:30.I want some more. They are a terrific bunch of players
:14:31. > :14:34.at Leeds. I have got the utmost respect for them. Quality players
:14:35. > :14:38.across the board. We will have a healthy respect. We feel that if we
:14:39. > :14:46.do our things well, we can challenge most themes. -- teams. They are a
:14:47. > :14:50.quality team. We have to be fully switched on. If we are switched on
:14:51. > :14:58.and ready to go, hopefully we will get the win. The Challenge Cup is
:14:59. > :15:06.special. The prize at the end of this game is a big one. A trip to
:15:07. > :15:12.Wembley. It is the character of my team, I see it going one way. But
:15:13. > :15:13.those are the other side of the Pennines are feeling the same way.
:15:14. > :15:32.It should be a fantastic game. Brian, a lot of experience, some of
:15:33. > :15:43.their leaders have left. Who pushes them around the park now? Matty
:15:44. > :15:47.Russell and Joel Monaghan. Rhys Evans, a Welsh international, in the
:15:48. > :15:52.backfield. Chris Bridge back there from playing in the halfbacks for
:15:53. > :15:58.most of the year, back in his favoured centre position, two
:15:59. > :16:04.complementary iron at. Ratchford and Myler, the former Salford Reds.
:16:05. > :16:11.Ratchford is comfortable anywhere. An outstanding player. In the front
:16:12. > :16:14.row, Chris Hill. And Michael Monaghan has made a huge difference
:16:15. > :16:19.to the current form of the Warrington Wolves. Look at the size
:16:20. > :16:24.of these boys. Trent Waterhouse, Australian international, with the
:16:25. > :16:36.two England international, Harrison and Westwood. Lots of experience on
:16:37. > :16:45.the bench. And Simon Grix would make most starting line-ups along with
:16:46. > :16:48.Micky Higham. What is going to be the key for them today?
:16:49. > :16:54.Once again I think it is their talent. Well we have got him stood
:16:55. > :17:00.on his own, a quick chat with Joel Monaghan. How has preparation been?
:17:01. > :17:08.It has been good. A massive game. We had a big test last week.
:17:09. > :17:11.There are a couple of other individuals I would like the
:17:12. > :17:16.supporters to look at home. Ratchford and Myler. I played
:17:17. > :17:23.alongside both players. Immense talent. Great contrast in style.
:17:24. > :17:32.Ratchford likes to take the line on. He likes a broken line. He can come
:17:33. > :17:35.up with the magic pass. Richie Myler is a contrast to Ratchford. It is
:17:36. > :17:39.not about ballplaying, it is about reading what the players are doing
:17:40. > :17:47.around him. Keep your eyes on these guys. They really know how to play
:17:48. > :17:53.their rugby league. Chris Bridge has been playing,
:17:54. > :18:02.Richie Myler is back. Is it a gamble with Richie? Not at all. Richie is
:18:03. > :18:05.fit. He was very good last week. The key to Warrington is getting Michael
:18:06. > :18:09.Monaghan back. He makes a massive difference to this team. He gives
:18:10. > :18:22.them all the confidence. There will be fireworks upfront. These two
:18:23. > :18:28.packs are going to go at each other. Michael Monaghan is a fantastic
:18:29. > :18:36.player. They have got such a big pack. The second phase rugby league
:18:37. > :18:43.is better than most sides in the competition. It will be a good game
:18:44. > :18:49.today. What about the pack for a Warrington? They lost quite a few
:18:50. > :18:59.people. Have you seen them grow as the season has gone on? Chris Hill
:19:00. > :19:07.for Warrington, for me he is absolutely fantastic. I watch him as
:19:08. > :19:11.a fellow prop. He gets the team on the front foot. Off the back of
:19:12. > :19:18.that, they use that off the cuff rugby. These teams like to quick
:19:19. > :19:24.play the ball is on the front foot, get past the advantage line and play
:19:25. > :19:29.rugby. It is so exciting. You might think that players take it easy in
:19:30. > :19:32.the run-up to a big match like this, that the coaches may back off them a
:19:33. > :19:38.little bit. Think again. We have been given a unique insight into
:19:39. > :19:52.what it is like before a big game, from Jamie Peacock.
:19:53. > :20:12.I am Jamie Peacock. This is the training you do to be a rugby league
:20:13. > :20:17.player. Goal, Jones E. As a rugby league player you have to be master
:20:18. > :20:22.of everything. You have to be fit, you have to be strong. One of the
:20:23. > :20:27.reasons we do these strongman competitions, it covers a lot of
:20:28. > :20:34.bases. Jones E is the man of this. It is like being involved in the
:20:35. > :20:43.game, except for the collisions. When I first started out 20 years
:20:44. > :20:46.ago, it'd only become professional. There was a drinking culture. Now it
:20:47. > :20:51.is about kids coming through from school, signing professional. There
:20:52. > :20:57.is a lot of sports science. He will not be doing that when he is
:20:58. > :21:00.finished. I am pretty stubborn. Probably not the most naturally
:21:01. > :21:06.skilful player. I probably am I the lads because I was want to win. I
:21:07. > :21:10.make the most out of my talent. Because I have got high standards, I
:21:11. > :21:12.want to drive them through the team. I suppose it annoys people.
:21:13. > :21:30.But it is about winning. Right, that is training finished.
:21:31. > :21:38.This little black box holds all the secrets to what we have been doing.
:21:39. > :21:41.Tell us about this. This tells us everything the players have done
:21:42. > :21:48.through the session. Who ran the fastest. Tom Briscoe. What kinds of
:21:49. > :21:54.distances are covered by players? Paul Aiton is covering about ten
:21:55. > :22:01.kilometres. We have recorded you at the top impact for this season. It
:22:02. > :22:05.is a bit like a car crash almost. If you want to be a rugby player, you
:22:06. > :22:13.have to run almost as fast as a sprinter, you have to cover ten
:22:14. > :22:20.kilometres in 80 minutes and be involved in 30 miles burka crashes.
:22:21. > :22:26.Any professional sportsman, you need to be a little bit selfish. If
:22:27. > :22:29.everybody is in your -- in your circle is happy with you, you are
:22:30. > :22:37.not being a good rugby league player. The sacrifices are worth it
:22:38. > :22:40.when you get to run out in semifinals and finals. You have a
:22:41. > :22:51.chance of doing something really special. I look at this and realise
:22:52. > :22:55.it could be my last semifinal. I have no guarantees of making
:22:56. > :23:00.another. I intend to make the most of it. There is a quiet
:23:01. > :23:05.determination amongst the players. It is spoken about what it is more
:23:06. > :23:10.in people's eyes. This week's training will be as intense as it
:23:11. > :23:13.has been all the year. It will be on the money. We want to get to Wembley
:23:14. > :23:20.and win. If that has inspired you to give the
:23:21. > :23:24.game a go, you can go to the BBC sport website. Lots of information
:23:25. > :23:32.about how you can get involved in rugby league. Do you regularly
:23:33. > :23:39.wheeled the sledgehammer and training? Yes we do. A lot of
:23:40. > :23:50.gymnasiums are using this caveman technique. I would not expect you to
:23:51. > :23:53.be lifting a sledgehammer, Tanya! Dennis, do you look at that and
:23:54. > :24:04.think, thank goodness I don't have to do that any more? I was at the
:24:05. > :24:08.edge of the professional era. I was fortunate to be able to train
:24:09. > :24:13.full-time and take that kind of thing going forward. I was lucky to
:24:14. > :24:16.get that into my game. I think it is inspiring. You watch Jamie there and
:24:17. > :24:23.as a coach, you want people like him in his side. Jamie Peacock is
:24:24. > :24:32.fantastic. He is a big key to this Leeds site. You with a coach for
:24:33. > :24:38.James Lowes and you hammered him in training. That was a brilliant
:24:39. > :24:42.piece, wasn't it? To see what they do to get that to this kind of
:24:43. > :24:51.states. Today is magnificent. It is all about the gladiators. Up against
:24:52. > :25:01.Chris Hill? Yes, slightly different players. Chris Hill is a great
:25:02. > :25:08.asset. You think you have got him, and he will move slightly, which
:25:09. > :25:14.enables him to play fastballs. That enables Michael Monaghan to make
:25:15. > :25:18.metres. Jamie Peacock slightly ahead on the tackle count. Very little to
:25:19. > :25:24.separate them. More determination and will from Jamie Peacock. Chris
:25:25. > :25:29.Hill has the skill to open the door. It is a fantastic atmosphere. Can
:25:30. > :25:34.you feel the nerves? It is fantastic. This is what you play
:25:35. > :25:42.for. You see the crowd, the sun is shining, it is going to be
:25:43. > :25:47.fantastic. Too close to call. What are these last few moments rugby
:25:48. > :25:52.players like? There are moments when you need to get yourself prepared.
:25:53. > :25:57.Now you need to get wound up to get onto the field. I have just got
:25:58. > :26:00.butterflies thinking about this game. Dennis, do you know what
:26:01. > :26:09.you're going to set your players tomorrow? Have said what I am going
:26:10. > :26:16.to say. If they don't know now, they are in trouble! It is reinforcing
:26:17. > :26:19.certain issues. You let your leaders play their part. The players have to
:26:20. > :26:23.be able to manage it and make the decisions. My influence has happened
:26:24. > :26:29.and it will happen in very small parts during the game. Let the
:26:30. > :26:36.leaders contribute what they are therefore, to lead their team. It is
:26:37. > :26:40.all about performance. To get a decent performance, they have to
:26:41. > :26:46.eradicate the crowd and the location and do what they do best. Dennis has
:26:47. > :26:51.prepared his team. These teams will be prepared. It will be a balance of
:26:52. > :26:55.the ball that separates these teams. Who makes a good decision at the
:26:56. > :27:08.right time? Who makes a poor decision? What is going to be the
:27:09. > :27:13.key? Is it the defence? Lately I've think both defences have been a
:27:14. > :27:18.little bit suspect. Both teams want to throw the ball about. They will
:27:19. > :27:24.be excited. It is the mistakes which will cost you. Errors lose games. It
:27:25. > :27:29.is the team that controls the ball and uses it to the best of their
:27:30. > :27:36.ability, they will win. Brian, final thought for you? To you have to be
:27:37. > :27:40.tough enough to make a good decision at the right end of the field. It
:27:41. > :27:46.will be somebody's attacking prowess that will separate these teams.
:27:47. > :27:52.Brian is joining Jonathan Davies and Dave Woods in the commentary box.
:27:53. > :27:57.The team is about to come out. They will hit a wall of sound the
:27:58. > :28:01.atmosphere is building. I am not sure that little girl knows what is
:28:02. > :28:06.about to hit her. The players cannot wait to get going. Here they come.
:28:07. > :28:15.We will hand you upstairs to the commentary box.
:28:16. > :28:23.We love these moments, don't we? These nerve jangling, stomach
:28:24. > :28:27.churning moments unique to the Challenge Cup semifinal? You can
:28:28. > :28:35.look forward to one of the best days of your rugby league life if you
:28:36. > :28:41.win. Lose, and it is dejection and anonymity. This competition has been
:28:42. > :28:45.so special. When I signed for rugby league, I wanted to play in the
:28:46. > :28:51.Challenge Cup final at Wembley. That was the big incentive. Both sides at
:28:52. > :28:57.full strength. Kevin Sinfield returns from suspension. Watkins and
:28:58. > :29:04.Royal -- Ryan Hall Auerbach after being arrested last week. -- Ryan
:29:05. > :29:14.Hall, both back after being rested last week. Michael Monaghan and
:29:15. > :29:17.Richie Myler both return from long-term injuries for Wakefield.
:29:18. > :29:25.The air conditioning could be tested today. They are two key players in
:29:26. > :29:28.two key positions. Phil Bentham is the referee. He has got a couple of
:29:29. > :29:46.Challenge Cup finals in his locker already. Westwood waiting for this
:29:47. > :29:52.game to get underway. Kevin Sinfield the man who will put boot to Bill --
:29:53. > :29:58.boot to ball for the first time. They are familiar foes in familiar
:29:59. > :30:04.circumstances. It is a sumptuous match-up of big match players.
:30:05. > :30:10.Predict the outcome of this one if you dare at this stage of what is
:30:11. > :30:21.going to be an enthralling competition. No one knows who is the
:30:22. > :30:28.favourite and no one knows who is the underdog. Psychologically, for
:30:29. > :30:35.Leeds, it is massive, they want to get the Challenge Cup, to win that
:30:36. > :30:41.cup. They are almost playing it down this year, the Leeds players, they
:30:42. > :30:48.are saying is not that big an issue. You can bet that it is, though.
:30:49. > :30:58.Collected by Zak Hardaker. Decent opening set from the Warrington
:30:59. > :31:05.perspective. And now Reinhold. -- Ryan Hall. He had a terrific game
:31:06. > :31:12.against Saint Helens, without ever scoring. His workrate was
:31:13. > :31:22.tremendous. Burrow, out of dummy half. Jones-Buchanan. Brian Noble,
:31:23. > :31:32.early thoughts? They are both exceptional in defence, and they
:31:33. > :31:35.will be feeling each other out. Russell has been a very exciting
:31:36. > :31:41.finds this year, but he has run into his own player. That will be
:31:42. > :31:50.obstruction. That is a very big mistake. He simply ran into
:31:51. > :32:00.Harrison. He did. Obstruction, penalty. A chance for Leeds to get
:32:01. > :32:05.the early points. Usually both teams are feeling each other out at the
:32:06. > :32:11.beginning, working at how they are going to execute some plans, but
:32:12. > :32:15.this is going back to the mentality which is epitomised by Ben Amos,
:32:16. > :32:26.when you have a chance to rattle beating and kicking over, take the
:32:27. > :32:29.opportunity -- rattled the tin. If anyone knows how important a goal
:32:30. > :32:38.kick is in a game like this, it is Kevin Sinfield. He has done this
:32:39. > :32:41.agent signs in important matches, he spurned a kick against Bradford in
:32:42. > :32:45.the famous cup final in Cardiff, of course, and who knows what would've
:32:46. > :32:56.happened if he had taken it that day. Never mind the history, Leeds
:32:57. > :33:06.have the history. -- have the lead. I do not mind that this agenda, they
:33:07. > :33:09.can get that out of their own half and who knows, by the end of the
:33:10. > :33:18.game it might be a 2-point ball game. -- I did not mind that
:33:19. > :33:25.decision. That is right, it could be that close. It has gone too far!
:33:26. > :33:32.Penalty back for Leeds at the halfway line. Will he go for goal?
:33:33. > :33:39.Maybe too far out for Kevin Sinfield. He is capable of getting
:33:40. > :33:48.from that angle, but I think this is a great result. They have been given
:33:49. > :33:56.the ball back. That is where they would have taken it, even if they
:33:57. > :34:06.had not taken the two points. Very big mistakes from Warrington early
:34:07. > :34:09.in the match. Jamie Jones-Buchanan with the early surge for Leeds, and
:34:10. > :34:15.Warrington are looking to find their feet in the semifinal. Leeds has
:34:16. > :34:25.settled the better. That is a great run from Peacock. Options right and
:34:26. > :34:33.left, he has gone with McGuire. This is Burrow. He skips away to Kevin
:34:34. > :34:46.Sinfield, who made the dummy, but he finds the welcoming arms of England.
:34:47. > :34:51.Leuluai. His family name resonates in Challenge Cup history. That is
:34:52. > :35:01.the kick to the in-goal area and I think Ratchford has got this down.
:35:02. > :35:11.What about this from Leeds and this early pressure on Warrington? Yes,
:35:12. > :35:18.they are really building pressure. Warrington will be happy with that
:35:19. > :35:24.defence, though. Taking that sign. They are entitled to do that --
:35:25. > :35:31.taking their time. Get oxygen into their lungs before they have another
:35:32. > :35:35.stint in defence. Zak Hardaker. Here he comes, never flamboyant but
:35:36. > :35:44.always effective. Rarely flamboyant, anyway. He has shown the odd moment
:35:45. > :35:50.in that long career of his. Leuluai with a short pass. Warrington are
:35:51. > :36:03.getting through a lot of work in the early stages. Sinfield. McGuire.
:36:04. > :36:06.Joel Monaghan. That is a perfect kick and a terrific chase, and this
:36:07. > :36:13.is another drop out under the sticks. Great play from both sides,
:36:14. > :36:18.very good defence, and I think you have got to be patient. In a quality
:36:19. > :36:25.game like this, this is like an international match, this is all
:36:26. > :36:32.about patience, you are not going to score every second, you have got to
:36:33. > :36:50.be very patient. Patience, possession.
:36:51. > :37:00.This is Apple at down the left-hand side for Leeds, who are dominating
:37:01. > :37:05.possession -- Ablett. Warrington are labouring hard in the sunshine. A
:37:06. > :37:18.lot of fuel drain from their tank in the early stages. McGuire. Oh! Two
:37:19. > :37:24.points is the difference, hardly representative of how much Leeds
:37:25. > :37:29.have been on top. Burrow, he makes the dummy to the left. Carl Ablett,
:37:30. > :37:37.has he got there? I don't think he has. Bill sent them -- Phil Bentham
:37:38. > :37:43.says handover and Warrington have survived. Family times have we seen
:37:44. > :37:51.Carl Ablett get the ball down in that position? -- how many times.
:37:52. > :38:05.That is a points victory for Warrington, though, this early.
:38:06. > :38:08.Becomes Russell. -- here comes. Warrington will be lifted, they are
:38:09. > :38:15.still trailing, but it could have been much worse. Leeds dominating
:38:16. > :38:27.territory at the moment, and possession. And now Ratchford. They
:38:28. > :38:36.had a Jamie Jones-Buchanan. Accidental offside -- ahead. He has
:38:37. > :38:45.given a penalty. Field position for Leeds. That hit his head, the
:38:46. > :38:54.accidental offside. It has gone into the hands of England and this is an
:38:55. > :38:59.easy one for Leeds Mac. -- Leeds. At the moment the bounce of the ball is
:39:00. > :39:06.favouring Leeds. That is the way it looks at the moment. 65% possession
:39:07. > :39:14.at the moment. And all in the half of Warrington, as well. The key
:39:15. > :39:23.statistic is the top line, though, and it is still 2-0 after eight
:39:24. > :39:31.minutes. Leuluai has recently announced he will do another year.
:39:32. > :39:40.The kick has found Leeds with a restart. Very good kick. Peek up
:39:41. > :39:57.with a driving run to set up the Peacock. Cereus injury, this could
:39:58. > :40:02.be a knock out. -- cereus injury. This did BAC areas below -- serious
:40:03. > :40:14.injury. He has got his head on the wrong
:40:15. > :40:19.side. His head was in the wrong position, and he was going to get
:40:20. > :40:22.hurt. Just make sure you get your head on the correct side when you
:40:23. > :40:33.make the tackle, for any kid watching. The hipbone catches the
:40:34. > :40:38.temple. He is OK. They are very careful with head injuries these
:40:39. > :40:41.days, as they have to be. It is not just about the here and now, but
:40:42. > :40:52.about what happens in years to come. Leeds with a chance to test
:40:53. > :41:05.Warrington. A clumsy tackle. Another penalty. They have gone quick.
:41:06. > :41:15.Leuluai. Setting things up. They are very close. Burrow. McGuire. Jamie
:41:16. > :41:29.Jones-Buchanan! He has kept it alive, has it gone backwards? Not an
:41:30. > :41:32.-- that is a knock-on and Warrington have survived once again, and their
:41:33. > :41:43.fans know how important it was to get through that spell of pressure.
:41:44. > :41:54.It was backwards. It is a knock-on from Rob Burrow. Yes. Very difficult
:41:55. > :42:02.to call from that angle, though. Warrington have got it back, and
:42:03. > :42:06.that is very important. It could be, we have spoken about taking your
:42:07. > :42:11.opportunities, Jamie Jones-Buchanan should have chanced his arm, and on
:42:12. > :42:19.any other day Rob Burrow would have scored. That is a get out of jail
:42:20. > :42:32.card for Warrington. They have got to play the six. Westwood. Looking
:42:33. > :42:37.to play-the-ball away. Oh! There was a collision of the ball, Anthony
:42:38. > :42:44.England was left sprawling. That was a forward pass. That was very close.
:42:45. > :42:54.The red three has given it as forward. -- referee. Interesting to
:42:55. > :43:07.see what happened with Leuluai. He just smashed him. Watkins. We have
:43:08. > :43:11.some news from the touchline. Leeds are monitoring the prop forward
:43:12. > :43:16.Leuluai, he was winded early on. They are leaving him out there for
:43:17. > :43:19.the time being. Michael Monaghan with a blow to the back of the head
:43:20. > :43:28.and Warrington are keeping tabs on that. If he was winded, he did very
:43:29. > :43:39.well to smash Anthony England on the far side. It bounces into the hands
:43:40. > :43:48.of Ryan Hall, he takes a fuse shuffling steps forward. -- a few.
:43:49. > :43:52.Carl Ablett, looking for the position, that is excellent.
:43:53. > :44:00.Warrington have got to start on the tightest of areas. The Warrington
:44:01. > :44:08.defence has been very good. Leeds have gone very right, very quickly.
:44:09. > :44:13.They have not had the pace. What about the kick from Carl Ablett? To
:44:14. > :44:20.have someone who can do that for you from the second row. He is a
:44:21. > :44:28.terrific player. Warrington have now got the relief. They will be looking
:44:29. > :44:32.to capitalise on this. They will want some of the field position that
:44:33. > :44:38.Leeds have had in the last ten minutes. Jamie Jones-Buchanan was
:44:39. > :44:47.not looking at the ball, and this should be a rest for Warrington.
:44:48. > :44:53.Richie Myler with a clearing kick, and we know that he's coming back a
:44:54. > :44:57.long injury, as is Michael Monaghan. They are key players in key business
:44:58. > :45:07.and is, how much will they be tested? -- positions. No more than
:45:08. > :45:11.you would expect in a game of this magnitude, but they should give
:45:12. > :45:18.impetus to this team. You want your best players in any game. Michael
:45:19. > :45:31.Monaghan, his brother Joel Monaghan is out wide. The float has kept it
:45:32. > :45:34.alive. Russell. -- the offload. Both teams are trying to negate the
:45:35. > :45:45.prowess of the forward pass, looking for the opportunity, but the
:45:46. > :45:51.defences have been excellent. Hardaker, shielding his eyes, he has
:45:52. > :46:00.caught that on the full and that will be a cat back by default --
:46:01. > :46:06.tap. Not the best kick from Ratchford, he will be disappointed,
:46:07. > :46:10.not enough height for the chasers to get there. Russell has made the
:46:11. > :46:18.covering tackle, which was very necessary. The Warrington defence is
:46:19. > :46:31.disorganised, temporarily. Rob Burrow, so dangerous. Carl Ablett.
:46:32. > :46:35.Leeds with four toggle -- tackles gone already, and we had a hand from
:46:36. > :46:44.Harrison and this is another set of six. They are doing this to tough
:46:45. > :46:50.way, Warrington. The last set from Leeds, the restart from Hardaker,
:46:51. > :46:58.that has proven energy sapping for Warrington. Ian Kirke is on the
:46:59. > :47:05.field, he has replaced Leuluai. Sinfield to Hardaker. He would have
:47:06. > :47:13.sensed the incoming Richie Myler and that has made him drop the ball. One
:47:14. > :47:22.thing which will disappoint Leeds, their execution on the wide passing.
:47:23. > :47:33.It has been very slow. How valuable is the two boys looking? -- points.
:47:34. > :47:40.We had that debate, but that might be the difference, it might be
:47:41. > :47:52.important. First 15 minutes, Leeds have dominated. Three mistakes from
:47:53. > :47:59.Warrington, but Leeds have only made one mistake, and they have also
:48:00. > :48:05.dominated territory and possession. It will be a semifinal which will
:48:06. > :48:10.ebb and flow. Leeds have dominated but Warrington have had their
:48:11. > :48:20.moments. Very good defensive line speeds. Bridge. Russell, up from the
:48:21. > :48:33.fallback position, to add a bit of sprightliness. -- fallback. Into the
:48:34. > :48:39.hands of Carl Ablett. Warrington have got to take the sting out of
:48:40. > :48:45.the Leeds attack. This is the way they play, this is their philosophy.
:48:46. > :48:57.Since the Ratchford kick, their finishing of sets of six has not
:48:58. > :49:06.been very good. Witness against Castleford, that is the other
:49:07. > :49:14.semifinal. -- Widnes against. Russell has been allowed to escape
:49:15. > :49:18.from that position. I do not understand the kicking philosophy of
:49:19. > :49:24.Leeds, Russell is not the biggest. If you look at the likes of Ryan
:49:25. > :49:31.Hall, Burrow, you have got to use their height advantage. I would also
:49:32. > :49:39.be tempted to put the ball up. Try to squash them all over the park.
:49:40. > :49:49.They need to be tested. Kicking down the short side, that is giving them
:49:50. > :50:00.a free run. Chris Hill, he's very quick off the ground, as well. Only
:50:01. > :50:09.ten yards from the Leeds line. Such a fast start from the game. That is
:50:10. > :50:13.terrific. I was dead advocating kicking for the sideline,
:50:14. > :50:21.Warrington, and then talk about restricting territory on Leeds -- I
:50:22. > :50:30.was advocating. Leeds can score from anywhere. That is the exciting
:50:31. > :50:34.thing, I think both teams can. Warrington had got some dangerous
:50:35. > :50:46.players around the rock, but Leeds seem to be going very wide early to
:50:47. > :50:58.create opportunities -- rock -- ruck. They are just like trains,
:50:59. > :51:06.they are such big boys. Zak Hardaker now. Still just a penalty goal from
:51:07. > :51:18.Kevin Sinfield in the second minute, separating the two sides.
:51:19. > :51:22.Peacock. Burrow at dummy half. Looking for a bit of distance and
:51:23. > :51:27.green grass, the role is very awkward. Russell has got to take
:51:28. > :51:33.precious seconds before he is safe to pick that up. Leeds were able to
:51:34. > :51:45.get further downfield to stop him in his tracks. Monaghan, Michael
:51:46. > :51:57.Monaghan, that is. And now Joel Monaghan. Rich, back inside to
:51:58. > :52:05.Harrison. Very good hands to Myler -- Chris Bridge. Once again, very
:52:06. > :52:13.flat. They are just trying to get on the fringes, Warrington. Their first
:52:14. > :52:19.four players are really exceptional, Monaghan running at them at dummy
:52:20. > :52:31.half, and then the heartbreak. It is just the extradition -- extra
:52:32. > :52:39.decision that is making the difference. What are you thinking on
:52:40. > :52:45.the sidelines, Robbie Hunter Paul? Leeds have played the perfect 20
:52:46. > :52:49.minutes, they have been ruthless, they are not overplaying, although I
:52:50. > :52:54.think they might have been guilty of trying to overplay, because they
:52:55. > :53:03.have not scored any tries. They are drawing so much energy out of
:53:04. > :53:09.Warrington, though. The media territory, Leeds in possession. --
:53:10. > :53:16.familiar territory. Both defences have been very solid. Warrington
:53:17. > :53:24.have only made five tackles more than Leeds, that is a surprise. That
:53:25. > :53:30.is a great tackle from Ryan Atkins. If he gets that slightly wrong, Rob
:53:31. > :53:37.Burrow was in the clear. That did not quite hold up, and so we go back
:53:38. > :53:45.to the 20, for Warrington. The kicking game has not been that good
:53:46. > :53:53.from Leeds so far. Only four completed from Warrington, but they
:53:54. > :53:56.do like to take the risks. They have played some very eye-catching rugby
:53:57. > :54:12.league and they have had some big victories. Harrison. Atkins back on
:54:13. > :54:21.the inside. That is a poor pass. This is the sixth tackle coming up.
:54:22. > :54:33.Westwood, to Joel Monaghan. Trying to kick that downfield and this has
:54:34. > :54:39.gone out of play on the full. Both coaches will have the notebook out,
:54:40. > :54:44.they will be looking at the kicking. Leeds started very well with their
:54:45. > :54:53.field position. That might take its toll at the end of the game in terms
:54:54. > :55:02.of energy, Warrington. You need to get the half-backs involved in the
:55:03. > :55:12.kicking. 16 times cup winners, Warrington, the last time was in
:55:13. > :55:19.2010. That was against Leeds. Leeds have reached six finals this century
:55:20. > :55:23.and they have lost all of them. Burrow is such a dangerous runner,
:55:24. > :55:31.but once again we have a poor finish to the set. They are handling Rob
:55:32. > :55:36.Burrow very well. He has had a view half chances. They are coming up and
:55:37. > :55:44.they ask washed tackling him and he has got to go to ground -- a few.
:55:45. > :55:49.Burrow always goes on the quick play of the ball. If he breaks, and there
:55:50. > :56:00.is the half chance, the support is brilliant. That has been dropped.
:56:01. > :56:05.This will be Leeds head and feet. If you bring on the specialist Turco,
:56:06. > :56:18.will they take Burrow off? -- hooker. The coach has both options.
:56:19. > :56:23.If Warrington do not stop making mistakes, Leeds will win this game,
:56:24. > :56:29.they cannot make as many mistakes, they have made seven mistakes to
:56:30. > :56:37.just one from Leeds. You cannot give Leeds that much possession, they
:56:38. > :56:43.will score. Watkins. Out of dummy half. Made his debut as a
:56:44. > :56:48.17-year-old in this competition in 2008. We thought he was amazing that
:56:49. > :57:03.they and we have not stopped thinking that since. Carl Ablett
:57:04. > :57:11.now. Hardaker, insightful Peacock. Jones-Buchanan, he is inside the ten
:57:12. > :57:17.once again dashed -- inside for Peacock. Ryan Hall, that is a great
:57:18. > :57:24.finish, and they are going to the video referee! The erection from the
:57:25. > :57:34.players, that seems to indicate he has scored -- the reaction from the
:57:35. > :57:44.players. This is very close. The reaction from the players is always
:57:45. > :57:50.a very good indicator. This is the video referee. I am happy that he is
:57:51. > :57:56.not in touch, but I want to have a closer look at the ball. His fingers
:57:57. > :58:09.are still on the ball. Looking at that angle, and now the other side.
:58:10. > :58:14.Do his hands stay off the ball? I think his fingers remain on the
:58:15. > :58:30.ball. Can we have the angle coming from the other side? There is no
:58:31. > :58:47.clear separation. This is the one. Fingers on the ball. There is no
:58:48. > :58:54.clear separation on that one. That is not going to show me anything. I
:58:55. > :59:07.have no evidence, and so I think benefit of the doubt and that is an
:59:08. > :59:17.try. -- a try. The video refs has given the try. He could not be
:59:18. > :59:23.certain that Ryan Hall had that under control, but the benefit of
:59:24. > :59:29.the doubt has gone his way. He has made scoring tries like that a
:59:30. > :59:35.speciality. Joel Monaghan and Ryan Hall, they are among the top try
:59:36. > :59:42.scorer 's, very hard to criticise what Joel Monaghan did. I think that
:59:43. > :59:50.is a fair try. That is a great finish. He had no right to score. No
:59:51. > :00:00.right at all, that is a great finish. So, Kevin Sinfield, with a
:00:01. > :00:08.chance to land his second goal of the day. Reinhold's name is ringing
:00:09. > :00:19.around Langtree Park from the Leeds names -- Ryan Hall's name is ringing
:00:20. > :00:40.around Langtree Park from the Leeds supporters. Absolutely perfect.
:00:41. > :00:48.Leeds now lead by 8-0. Now the penalty looks a good decision. Dummy
:00:49. > :00:55.kick. Very difficult to see if there was separation. Benefit of the
:00:56. > :01:05.doubt, great finish by Ryan Hall. I think that is on the back of how
:01:06. > :01:10.much ball Leeds have had. Warrington are inviting Leeds into their half.
:01:11. > :01:15.That will be a relief for a Leeds as well. They have had a lot of
:01:16. > :01:33.possession, a lot of territory, but nothing for it. Amazing statistics
:01:34. > :01:38.after 27 minutes. Paul Aiton is ready to make his appearance on the
:01:39. > :01:57.sideline. Paul Aiton, the PAP -- Papua New
:01:58. > :02:32.Guinea player. Michael Monaghan swallowed up by the
:02:33. > :02:41.defence again. George Riley, what news? Paul Aiton on for a Jamie
:02:42. > :02:46.Jones-Buchanan. He makes is way off absolutely drenched in sweat.
:02:47. > :02:53.Leuluai, who went straight down the tunnel when he came off, is now back
:02:54. > :02:58.on. He was holding his ribs. As for Warrington, no reaction at all from
:02:59. > :03:05.Tony Smith to the try. I would love to see what his eyes looked like
:03:06. > :03:16.behind those dark glasses. Blue, I think!
:03:17. > :03:28.Do we just sends a slight swing of the momentum? The last couple of
:03:29. > :03:40.sets have been good from Warrington. Good play by Monaghan. Good defence
:03:41. > :03:41.by Hardaker. Leeds closing Ratchford down very quickly. They know he is
:03:42. > :03:56.very dangerous. A forward pass! It was called by the
:03:57. > :04:06.touch judge on the far side. The referee was not in position. Great
:04:07. > :04:17.ball, that was. A matter of millimetres. I cannot see it from
:04:18. > :04:20.that angle. I was just about to say before Warrington exploded into that
:04:21. > :04:27.exciting football, the last kick was great. Some kick pressure on these
:04:28. > :04:28.which was not so great. Then Warrington had that attacking field
:04:29. > :04:41.position. What a season Zaccardo is having, by
:04:42. > :05:12.the way. -- Zach Hardaker. Leeds one man short at the moment
:05:13. > :05:29.because one of their players is having some treatment. Briscoe
:05:30. > :05:36.knocked it on! Even if Warrington drop it, they will get the ball back
:05:37. > :05:43.anyway because it is an advantage. Great play. Great feet by Hardaker.
:05:44. > :05:46.The saw Ryan Atkins shoot at the line and he rode the tackle. Very
:05:47. > :06:04.fortunate to get away with that, Warrington. It is another forward
:06:05. > :06:12.pass. A very similar part of the field. And it is very cheap. Another
:06:13. > :06:16.mistake from Warrington Wolves. They have not had the ball. They have not
:06:17. > :06:20.had territory. When they have had it, they have squandered it. They
:06:21. > :06:28.have had no momentum whatsoever. I don't think they have a one
:06:29. > :06:38.opportunity -- I don't think they have had one attacking opportunity
:06:39. > :06:53.in the Leeds red zone. When we have finished here, you can join in our
:06:54. > :06:58.red button forum. Tomorrow will be an absolute belter as well. Witness
:06:59. > :07:09.against Castleford. A sell-out crowd for what should be a memorable
:07:10. > :07:14.occasion. -- Widnes Vikings. It all adds up to what should be a terrific
:07:15. > :07:37.final. I don't understand the kick from
:07:38. > :07:59.Leeds. Just get it in the air. Brian McDermott is looking slightly
:08:00. > :08:33.restless at the moment. Hardaker shielding his eyes. They
:08:34. > :08:45.let it bounce. Picked up by Monaghan. Still the sixth tackle. He
:08:46. > :08:51.passes to the wrong man, Asotasi. It just went to the wrong blog. That is
:08:52. > :08:59.not his fault he happened to be in the right position. Don't let the
:09:00. > :09:14.ball bounce. The sun was in his eyes. He knew the ball was going to
:09:15. > :09:19.bounce back. That was a chance. This heat must be strong. There are a few
:09:20. > :09:32.people walking around with their hands on their hips.
:09:33. > :09:37.There was the bouncing ball that gave Warrington the chance but it
:09:38. > :09:44.did not quite work out the way they wanted it to. You need to get the
:09:45. > :10:11.ball into the players with the quick feet. You have to take them on.
:10:12. > :10:25.Great play by Leeds. The charge continues. Warrington have to
:10:26. > :10:36.regroup. Defending for their lives again. Ryan Hall! Never any doubt!
:10:37. > :10:41.Never any doubt. The second try of the afternoon for a Ryan Hall. And
:10:42. > :10:46.Warrington, for the moment, looking out on their feet. You have two save
:10:47. > :10:52.Iraq hanging on by their fingernails, Warrington. I think it
:10:53. > :11:00.was the past by Rob Burrow. I may be wrong. It was Danny McGuire. The
:11:01. > :11:04.take from Hardaker and then the break, they were at sixes and
:11:05. > :11:10.sevens. The best thing about that, he reads the kick. He covers the ten
:11:11. > :11:21.yards before the kick is made, he knew where it was growing -- going.
:11:22. > :11:39.This is the money ball. All coming back. Danny McGuire, thank you very
:11:40. > :11:45.much. Danny McGuire lifts his head and thinks, if you are coming in, I
:11:46. > :11:51.am going to go over the top of you. They found Ryan Hall to finish. If
:11:52. > :11:54.you are short of numbers, you can add comment shooting off the line.
:11:55. > :12:14.They have two stand their ground and push out wide. -- they have to.
:12:15. > :12:21.This is a pretty important kick. If he put this over it is a threescore
:12:22. > :12:31.lead that Leeds almost certainly take into the half-time break. Hit
:12:32. > :12:37.the post and bounced in! Three out of three from Kevin Sinfield. They
:12:38. > :12:44.have a 14-0 lead over Warrington, which is massive in a semifinal.
:12:45. > :12:52.Absolutely massive. This is the money ball. Great vision from Danny
:12:53. > :13:05.McGuire. That was an easy run-in. Convergence are so important. --
:13:06. > :13:09.conversions. It is going to be a huge task for Warrington in the
:13:10. > :13:18.second half. Can they claw their way back? One thing, they cannot play as
:13:19. > :13:25.badly as they did in this half. Leeds have make the most out of it.
:13:26. > :13:33.How draining has this first-half bin them? They have had to defend their
:13:34. > :13:42.try line. Leeds have had the opportunity to run at them. They
:13:43. > :13:46.need to clean their game up a little bit. They need to make better
:13:47. > :13:55.decisions. They are capable of three scores. When they defend in their
:13:56. > :13:59.own red zone, the intensity is there. When they are in the
:14:00. > :14:02.opposition half, the Chase has not been good. Hardaker has cut them to
:14:03. > :14:43.pieces. Penalty for interference. A big 30
:14:44. > :14:52.seconds coming up here for Warrington. A big 30 seconds. This
:14:53. > :15:04.has got to go up in the air and everybody has got to chase. Russell
:15:05. > :15:14.has got the space... He could not get the pass away. The hooter
:15:15. > :15:21.sounds. The referee has finally heard it. That will be half-time. It
:15:22. > :15:27.snuffs out the late Warrington ambition. Once again it has been a
:15:28. > :15:33.Hall of Fame performance from their mighty winger that has given Leeds
:15:34. > :15:37.the advantage. 14-0, they lead. Ryan Hall with a brace of tries and
:15:38. > :15:51.plenty of questions to be asked about Warrington. Can they get
:15:52. > :15:57.themselves back on the Wembley Way? Was that in near perfect 40? It was
:15:58. > :16:02.good. We are not getting carried away. We have another big 40. How do
:16:03. > :16:09.you make sure Warrington do not get back into it? Keep the pressure on.
:16:10. > :16:16.Take on some fluids. It is very intense, very hot. We will do the
:16:17. > :16:21.right things. What a half that was. Let us look at the first have
:16:22. > :16:26.statistics. They tell a tale. If you look down that, Dennis, possession
:16:27. > :16:35.and territory dominated by Leeds. What do you make of the completion
:16:36. > :16:42.rate? It is how Warrington play. They do push the ball. I don't think
:16:43. > :16:47.the completion rate is something that is that important to them. Look
:16:48. > :16:52.at the tackle success. Both sides working really hard defensively. One
:16:53. > :17:03.side is working harder than the other. Towards the end of the half,
:17:04. > :17:10.we saw fatigue. That is because they had to do a lot of defending. What
:17:11. > :17:19.stood out for you? For me personally it is Leeds's discipline. They are
:17:20. > :17:23.trying to control the game. Warrington are not trying to win the
:17:24. > :17:28.game within the first have. They are not trying to score of every set.
:17:29. > :17:33.They are kicking two corners. I have been really impressed with Leeds.
:17:34. > :17:41.They are playing semifinal rugby. What you surprised by the early
:17:42. > :17:45.errors for Warrington? Yes, they like to attack. Sometimes you have
:17:46. > :17:48.to earn the right to do that. This is not ideal. They are running into
:17:49. > :17:55.each other. These are fundamental mistakes. This is one of the worst
:17:56. > :18:00.ways to start the game. Kicking out on the full. That is disappointing.
:18:01. > :18:09.Almost a lack of concentration. I am sure if Dennis was coach, he would
:18:10. > :18:14.be absolutely spewing. You do not practice like that. That is just
:18:15. > :18:20.nerves. It is not composure. Kicking the ball out on the full. Kicking
:18:21. > :18:23.the ball into the back of somebody. Those are things you do not want to
:18:24. > :18:27.see from your team because it shows you are a little bit off in your
:18:28. > :18:32.head. This game is a long way from over. Warrington have the ability to
:18:33. > :18:37.score a lot of points. They defended really well in the first half. If
:18:38. > :18:42.they can get some composure and control more ball, they will score
:18:43. > :18:49.tries. It took Leeds a little while to take advantage of those
:18:50. > :18:56.mistakes? Yes, they got really close on a couple of occasions. Sometimes
:18:57. > :19:00.that is all it takes. Jones-Buchanan could not quite do enough to get the
:19:01. > :19:04.ball down there. They are keeping hold of the ball. They have got the
:19:05. > :19:13.territory. Every time they get in position, they look a threat.
:19:14. > :19:19.Causing threats all over. When they got in, it was Ryan Hall. He has
:19:20. > :19:26.produced the goods so often? It was a great kick. They put a lot of
:19:27. > :19:30.pressure on the Warrington line. It takes a fantastic try. A fantastic
:19:31. > :19:37.score. Danny McGuire shows a little dummy. That keeps Joel Monaghan in
:19:38. > :19:43.the pocket at the back. Chris Bridge is attracted to the attacker. It is
:19:44. > :19:50.a one-on-one try. Ryan Hall is such a great finisher. The second try is
:19:51. > :20:00.a great bit of skill. Danny McGuire knows where to pass the ball. He
:20:01. > :20:05.finds himself in acres of space. Zach Hardaker has had a great
:20:06. > :20:15.season. This has been classic, hasn't it? He has got plenty of
:20:16. > :20:19.energy going into the second half. You are seeing little line breaks
:20:20. > :20:32.from him. Good footwork by Danny McGuire. Danny McGuire has just got
:20:33. > :20:35.great vision. Ryan Hall is a world-class winger. The first try he
:20:36. > :20:40.scored, there are not many wingers who could score that. He has been
:20:41. > :20:47.good. What are you saying to Brian McDermott? Rob Burrow said it. The
:20:48. > :20:54.intensity is good. They need to stay composed. He is probably telling
:20:55. > :20:58.them, this is a long way from over. We have two stay at that kind of
:20:59. > :21:02.intensity for the first 15 to 20 minutes of the second half.
:21:03. > :21:08.Warrington will not lie down. They will come back. We talked about the
:21:09. > :21:12.kicking game and how crucial that would be. Leeds have been
:21:13. > :21:15.disciplined, haven't they? Definitely. The way they have
:21:16. > :21:21.controlled the game has been really impressive. Danny McGuire has three
:21:22. > :21:27.outside chasers there. Into that space. The forwards have to double
:21:28. > :21:36.up on their tackles to get another set of six. They have used this to
:21:37. > :21:43.their advantage. They have gained momentum. They did not score early
:21:44. > :21:50.doors, they do it later in the half when the opposition is tired. Leeds
:21:51. > :22:00.made the best possible start. Warrington made an error. Good
:22:01. > :22:08.coaching. He gets the scoreboard on his side. Take the energy from
:22:09. > :22:14.Warrington. When you have got Ryan Hall, Hardaker, you're going to get
:22:15. > :22:24.some tries. We talked beforehand about Jamie Peacock and Chris Hill.
:22:25. > :22:29.How do you see it? At the moment, Jamie Peacock. He has played 40
:22:30. > :22:33.minutes in a Challenge Cup semifinal. It is a fantastic
:22:34. > :22:39.testament to his ability, his fitness and how important he is to
:22:40. > :22:49.Leeds. Jamie always says to me, if I don't need to come off, I will not
:22:50. > :22:54.come off. Chris Hill is Warrington's lead man. He has not
:22:55. > :22:59.had the opportunity. They have not had the ball. They have been totally
:23:00. > :23:07.out of the game. They have to fix that quickly. If you are Tony Smith,
:23:08. > :23:14.what are you saying? Stay calm, refocus. They can score some points.
:23:15. > :23:22.Defensively I think they have been really good. They have had to work
:23:23. > :23:29.that much harder than Leeds. It is energy sapping. The tries came from
:23:30. > :23:34.a couple of mistakes on the back of being fatigued. Who will be key
:23:35. > :23:40.players be for Warrington if they are to get back into this? The key
:23:41. > :23:44.players everybody. Everybody who has contributed to these errors are
:23:45. > :23:51.making the difference. If they can keep the ball, make key decisions
:23:52. > :23:55.like Leeds are doing, by playing semifinal rugby instead of trying to
:23:56. > :23:58.score at every opportunity, I think they will get themselves back into
:23:59. > :24:02.it. They have got the ability and they have got the players. Tomorrow
:24:03. > :24:07.is Widnes Vikings against Castleford. They produced probably
:24:08. > :24:13.the shock of the competitions offer when they beat Wigan at Wigan.
:24:14. > :24:19.The last time Wigan lost a Challenge Cup tie at home was in 1986 and it
:24:20. > :24:27.was Castleford who did the damage. Can the Yorkshire side repeat that
:24:28. > :24:34.today against the cup-holders? Luke Dorn slides in. James Clare!
:24:35. > :24:53.Richards! Richards with the try that confirms
:24:54. > :24:57.Castleford are in the semifinal! They have had a fantastic season,
:24:58. > :25:03.Castleford. You are in for quite a battle? I think it is going to be a
:25:04. > :25:14.great game. It is what the semifinals need. We have played two
:25:15. > :25:18.really good games against them this season. We are in good shape. A
:25:19. > :25:23.strong squad to select from. We have got some good form coming into it. A
:25:24. > :25:29.good win against Warrington at home and last week against Hull KR. We
:25:30. > :25:37.know that Castleford have had a great year. The win against Wigan at
:25:38. > :25:40.Wigan was fantastic. I know you will concentrate on yourselves, but they
:25:41. > :25:44.have a couple of key players missing thanks to the judiciary. Justin
:25:45. > :25:53.Carney, that must have made you smile? I cannot really comment! I
:25:54. > :26:02.have to control what I can control. You feel for Darren because he
:26:03. > :26:07.cannot pick his best side. If Justin was your player you would have given
:26:08. > :26:10.him a blast? There I don't think it was that Bastos -- that bad. It is
:26:11. > :26:21.not my call. I am sitting on the fence a little bit on this! I think
:26:22. > :26:31.Darrell has got a fantastic squad. Not a bad selection problem. You
:26:32. > :26:38.were looking at that... It is one of those where you do not expect that
:26:39. > :26:41.to happen. The things that have happened recently have affected the
:26:42. > :26:48.judiciary decision wise on those kinds of tackles. It will be a
:26:49. > :26:53.fantastic game. Two teams who like to play. They work hard for each
:26:54. > :26:56.other. There must be huge excitement for both of your site, the chance of
:26:57. > :27:02.getting to Wembley. It is immense, isn't it? When you look at where we
:27:03. > :27:06.have come from. Seven years out of Super League. Building towards this
:27:07. > :27:12.kind of atmosphere. The town is buzzing. It is great because it is a
:27:13. > :27:18.massive rugby league town. The club means a lot to the people. We were
:27:19. > :27:26.the cup kings in the 1970s and 1980s. High Speed two Andy Gregory
:27:27. > :27:34.quite regularly and he likes to tell me how many times he has won and how
:27:35. > :27:40.many times he was there. -- I speak to Andy Gregory. For yourself and
:27:41. > :27:45.Darrell there is the player who has had the experience of a final but it
:27:46. > :27:49.is a different build-up for you? It is. The players have enjoyed this
:27:50. > :27:53.week. They have enjoyed a bit of media attention. The expectation
:27:54. > :28:00.going into a big game. A sell-out crowd. There will be 12,000 people
:28:01. > :28:07.there and it will feel like 100,000. It is a fantastic stadium. Great
:28:08. > :28:13.atmosphere. The Widnes fans are fantastic. They will be really vocal
:28:14. > :28:21.tomorrow. They will get behind the team. It will be a great semifinal.
:28:22. > :28:30.The Castleford wrens can make a bit of noise as well. They are pretty
:28:31. > :28:37.special when you go to Castleford. It should be an absolute belter.
:28:38. > :28:44.Back to this one, what do you think? We would expect Warrington to come
:28:45. > :28:46.out all guns blazing? I would expect Warrington to improve massively.
:28:47. > :28:54.There cannot be worse than they have been. They have got nothing to lose
:28:55. > :28:58.as it were. They are that far behind they can start enjoying themselves
:28:59. > :29:02.playing the rugby they like to play. Leeds will be disciplined. I would
:29:03. > :29:12.expect to see exactly the same start from them. It has been fantastic.
:29:13. > :29:17.The Warrington fans looking worried. I don't think they should be. There
:29:18. > :29:22.is a long way to go. You look at the statistics and see how much
:29:23. > :29:31.territory Leeds have had. Warrington will get a share of that in the
:29:32. > :29:36.second half. Tony will be saying to his players, let's not play the
:29:37. > :29:40.scoreboard, let's go out there and play our game. What will be will be
:29:41. > :29:47.but we need some good position and we need some ball. The Leeds defence
:29:48. > :29:52.was so mean at the beginning of the season. That would be the key here?
:29:53. > :29:57.Yes. Sometimes that can bite you in the backside as well. When you are
:29:58. > :30:02.defending, you forget about the attacking side. You still want to
:30:03. > :30:07.put the ball on their line, get the line speed. That intensity that Rob
:30:08. > :30:14.Burrow talked about. Use that to your advantage. Interesting seeing
:30:15. > :30:22.Michael Monaghan out there giving the pep talk. He is trying to
:30:23. > :30:25.motivate them. This is massive. This is the biggest game of the year. Do
:30:26. > :30:30.you want to be happier disappointed at the end of this? I think you will
:30:31. > :30:38.see a big increase in the Warrington performance. You cannot forget to
:30:39. > :30:45.play. Both these sides know how to defend. They know how to attack. I
:30:46. > :30:48.think the second half is key. Back to the commentary team.
:30:49. > :30:59.the full-back. For an little and cool COMMENTATOR: Where are we going
:31:00. > :31:07.to go from here? Brian McDermott seems like a happy man. His side are
:31:08. > :31:13.doing what they need to do. They have a big lead, and they are such a
:31:14. > :31:19.quality side, but Warrington are capable of scoring a lot of points,
:31:20. > :31:24.but then so are Leeds. They nailed it in the studio, there is the
:31:25. > :31:29.assumption that Warrington will be better, they have got to make better
:31:30. > :31:35.decisions. They have got to be a bit clearer, in terms of the outcomes of
:31:36. > :31:39.their processes. It has been so successful for Leeds, and they will
:31:40. > :31:45.be trying to do the same again. Warrington will be trying to do
:31:46. > :31:49.something about that. If you are Brian McDermott, he will be
:31:50. > :31:59.thinking, if they can score first, that will be it. Jamie Peacock has
:32:00. > :32:07.played every minute of the game. 21 tackles. 16 carries, and two
:32:08. > :32:10.off-loads, as well, he is putting in a real stink and I hope he is not
:32:11. > :32:36.too tired to join us tomorrow for the Castleford against witness Mac
:32:37. > :32:42.-- Widnes. Tony Smith has told his players to not panic, to settle down
:32:43. > :32:49.and to complete the sets of six and he has told his players they are not
:32:50. > :32:53.out of this yet. They have got to start scoring, and this is Rhys
:32:54. > :33:01.Evans. He has got three in support. Atkins. Carl Ablett was there to
:33:02. > :33:07.make a terrific tackle. Suddenly, Leeds, they going the other way.
:33:08. > :33:18.Great work from Carl Ablett, BJ 's back was incredible. -- the chase
:33:19. > :33:26.back was incredible. My word, he had a big heart. His lungs must be
:33:27. > :33:31.hurting, he has landed on something and he might have winded himself.
:33:32. > :33:45.These are the situations that we knew semifinals. Yes, they had four
:33:46. > :33:52.against one -- win you semifinals. Where is this one bouncing? Jonathan
:33:53. > :33:56.has made a good point, the opportunities that Warrington had,
:33:57. > :34:03.just then, they had to take, because of the deficit on the scoreboard.
:34:04. > :34:08.The downside is that Leeds can come back and they can get another point,
:34:09. > :34:16.and that will put even more pressure on. Remember, macro Leeds can score
:34:17. > :34:26.out of nothing, as well. -- Leeds can score. Myler. Ratchford. Very
:34:27. > :34:36.good footwork. He has beaten a few defenders. Peacock with another
:34:37. > :34:44.tackle. Myler, he spins it across. Atkins, getting it free. This is
:34:45. > :34:52.Rhys Evans, to have a go. Angled run, Leeds recovering the position,
:34:53. > :34:59.but this is very good position from Warrington, can they take advantage?
:35:00. > :35:05.Joel Monaghan was there, and he has got the pass away to Chris Bridge,
:35:06. > :35:11.and that is a try for Warrington, just what they needed. Right at the
:35:12. > :35:19.start of the second half. The semifinal is on fire once again, and
:35:20. > :35:22.Brian Noble is taking the credit. They got themselves into the right
:35:23. > :35:30.part of the field, they gave it to Richie Myler. The kick to Joel
:35:31. > :35:35.Monaghan, that is what we needed. And then Chris Bridge, he comes
:35:36. > :35:39.around, and he gets Warrington back into the game, with an element of
:35:40. > :35:45.more control, we have seen better decisions from Warrington and that
:35:46. > :35:50.is why they are back in the game. If you are going to get, then do it
:35:51. > :35:57.where you can compete for the ball. Monaghan, he is great in the air. --
:35:58. > :36:02.if you are going to kick. He had the running jump, and that is very
:36:03. > :36:20.difficult to defend. Who was that coach? Jimmy Lawton? No, it was John
:36:21. > :36:33.Bevan. Not the Warrington won? No. He was from an argot, very early in
:36:34. > :36:39.my career. -- Otago. Different style, different technique, and that
:36:40. > :36:44.has hit the post and bounced out. In these moments, sometimes great deeds
:36:45. > :36:49.are decided. Sometimes they go unnoticed. We spoke from the first
:36:50. > :37:08.minute about the goalkick. Rhys Evans, another Welshman, taking
:37:09. > :37:12.the kick. Warrington, looking to build on what they have just given
:37:13. > :37:22.themselves, a platform to get back into this game. They are just two
:37:23. > :37:32.scores behind in this game. Atkins from dummy half. Monaghan. This is
:37:33. > :37:43.Myler. Paul Wood, trying to push himself into the line. Myler. But on
:37:44. > :37:55.the halfway line. This kick looks absolutely perfect. Briscoe has a
:37:56. > :37:59.job, and he has been smashed. I think he is feeling the effects as
:38:00. > :38:08.much as the Leeds man. I think he is. That was a great kick. Just look
:38:09. > :38:17.at that, and there was a clash of heads. Oh! Leeds are finding it
:38:18. > :38:30.tough, just for the moment. That was good play from Burrow. That is a
:38:31. > :38:37.great kick. And a great chase. Physicality about this game at the
:38:38. > :38:41.moment. Burrow, he realised the intensity of the Warrington defence
:38:42. > :38:50.and he takes the sting out of it, releasing it with a big kick.
:38:51. > :38:58.Westwood. They fancy shifting it here, Warrington. Myler, stepping
:38:59. > :39:03.back on the inside, and that was a grasping tackle from Sinfield.
:39:04. > :39:12.Warrington, trying to buy themselves a bit of space. The referees says
:39:13. > :39:15.play on. Running at Delaney. Monaghan is the area is, he thought
:39:16. > :39:26.he should have had a penalty on a few counts. -- Monaghan is furious.
:39:27. > :39:36.The referee is ignoring him, but he might have had a point. Burrow.
:39:37. > :39:44.McGuire. I was going to say he did well to hold on, but he didn't.
:39:45. > :39:49.Leeds, they are playing as if they expected Warrington to come out, but
:39:50. > :39:56.they cannot stop playing. You have got to keep on playing. This is as
:39:57. > :40:11.much about Warrington as it is about Leeds. They are giving themselves a
:40:12. > :40:20.chance, and Leeds are having to do all the things they did not need to
:40:21. > :40:30.do in the first. Bailey is an, but Jamie Peacock is still going. --
:40:31. > :40:38.Bailey is on. He retires next year, Jamie Peacock, he wants to savour
:40:39. > :40:46.every moment. Waterhouse. He recovered from the earlier head
:40:47. > :40:56.knock. Leeds defenders, smothering the ball back into his body. Five
:40:57. > :41:02.tackles gone and this is the last. Micky Higham, bending his back.
:41:03. > :41:13.Myler, he has put this high, another battle in the air. It has been
:41:14. > :41:27.picked up by Westwood. And again, the high kick. Warrington's head and
:41:28. > :41:35.feed. If Westwood could have found anybody in a white shirt, they might
:41:36. > :41:49.have scored. The pendulum is swinging, how far across does it go?
:41:50. > :41:56.Warrington with the ideal opportunity, ten minutes into the
:41:57. > :42:04.second half. Out it comes. Bridge, with a step, the Irish
:42:05. > :42:17.international, he has been put down. Myler, it has gone back. Still
:42:18. > :42:24.tackles in the bag. Great play from Jamie Peacock. Micky Higham once
:42:25. > :42:30.again, ranging to his left and the Leeds defenders, hanging on.
:42:31. > :42:38.Delaney, holding onto his shorts, until the reinforcements arrived.
:42:39. > :42:45.Miscommunication. Watkins, he can damage any defence. Just as well
:42:46. > :42:58.they were able to make the tackle. It was only in the tackle count to
:42:59. > :43:06.go for that. -- early. Briscoe. There where the counterpunch,
:43:07. > :43:11.Warrington. -- beware. Dummy run, twisting round, that was very good
:43:12. > :43:20.from Carl Ablett. He does a lot of work, Carl Ablett. We have the
:43:21. > :43:28.offload, Burrow, into the pocket. Sinfield in support. Five tackles
:43:29. > :43:38.gone. Leeds have gone the length of the field. The Warrington defence,
:43:39. > :43:44.it has been found static, and Joel Moon lifting the hopes of Leeds high
:43:45. > :43:48.once again, with a try which reintroduces the comfort zone. Leeds
:43:49. > :43:56.have counterpunch to very effectively. I knew they were short
:43:57. > :44:05.on the right-hand side, and Leeds attacked it, I do not know what
:44:06. > :44:27.happened to Chris Bridge. This is the offload. Burrow, he was there.
:44:28. > :44:31.That is a simple run for Joel Moon. They made sure there were attacking
:44:32. > :44:39.spaces and McGuire just had to find the right pass. That is the end to
:44:40. > :44:44.end situation you have got, if you do not finish at the right end of
:44:45. > :44:51.their failed, the opposition are too good and they will come down and
:44:52. > :45:02.punish you -- right end of the field.
:45:03. > :45:16.Kevin Sinfield's kicking has been perfect so far today.
:45:17. > :45:44.Sinfield, hoping that towards glory, but wide. -- hooking. It went in
:45:45. > :45:49.towards the ball, and that was a very simple effort from McGuire in
:45:50. > :45:57.the end. It has trickled through the legs, past Zak Hardaker, Briscoe and
:45:58. > :46:02.Peacock were behind, but they did not get a hand on it. Warrington
:46:03. > :46:09.should get this back from the kick-off, all things being equal.
:46:10. > :46:19.Noted medication. It was like the chuckle Brothers -- no
:46:20. > :46:26.communication. I would not dare call either of them the chuckle Brothers,
:46:27. > :46:42.though! Kevin Sinfield is still out there.
:46:43. > :46:50.Crucial period of the game for both sides. Warrington needing to get
:46:51. > :46:56.another score to get themselves back into the match, as they were a short
:46:57. > :47:05.while ago. Waterhouse carries it. Sinfield with a rattling tackle. It
:47:06. > :47:17.was a ball steel. I think they have hit in round the head. -- him. Micky
:47:18. > :47:26.Higham, dancing to the left. It has been taken by Simon Grix. Look how
:47:27. > :47:35.close they are. Four tackles to go. The step from Chris Bridge.
:47:36. > :47:41.Ratchford has gone to the sensor. Chris Hill, is he over the line? Has
:47:42. > :47:49.he put that down? I don't think he can. The veterinary is not certain
:47:50. > :47:52.and we will go to -- the referee is not certain and we will go to the
:47:53. > :48:04.video referee, we can hear from him now. We will see if the ball is
:48:05. > :48:09.grounded to start with. Happy with that. It looks like it might have
:48:10. > :48:20.been lost, but how is the ball coming out? Was it stolen? Or has he
:48:21. > :48:30.lost it? It looks like he has lost it. I cannot see if this is a
:48:31. > :48:38.steal. We cannot see at this point. Can we have a look at this angle,
:48:39. > :48:48.please? No hands on the ball at that point. Chris Hill has a hand on the
:48:49. > :48:56.ball. I cannot see if that is a steal, and so on that evidence, it
:48:57. > :49:06.will be no dry, 20 metre restart. -- try. That is the official
:49:07. > :49:08.confirmation of the decision. Warrington were expecting that
:49:09. > :49:17.decision, judging by their body language. You would have given a
:49:18. > :49:20.penalty? It was a tough call, difficult for any video referees to
:49:21. > :49:26.make a call on that one, but it was great defence from the Leeds Rhinos.
:49:27. > :49:41.We thought he was over, but great defence. Jamie Peacock. Burrow.
:49:42. > :49:48.Bailey, he was there when Leeds won the Grand Final in 2004, Tony Smith
:49:49. > :49:53.was the coach in those days. That was the watershed moment for this
:49:54. > :50:00.Leeds generation, winning the first championship in 32 years. Sinfield,
:50:01. > :50:06.Burrow, Jones-Buchanan, Bailey, they'll played that day and they are
:50:07. > :50:22.still involved here. -- they all played that day. Russell picks it
:50:23. > :50:26.up. Bailey helps to make the tackle. 1855 appearances between those five
:50:27. > :50:32.players over the years for Leeds. They have not won a Challenge Cup
:50:33. > :50:46.final, though. That is the bugbear. That was a great tackle from Jamie
:50:47. > :50:54.Peacock. Had to go wide. And now Chris Hill. That was a good carry.
:50:55. > :51:01.Jamie Peacock has gone off the field, by the way. He has been
:51:02. > :51:10.replaced by in Kirk. Zak Hardaker, he watches that dead, very good play
:51:11. > :51:17.from the full-back. -- Ian Kirke. Referee is making certain everyone
:51:18. > :51:23.is lined up and ready. Ryan Hall. So difficult to take him down, no
:51:24. > :51:31.respite for the forwards when he takes it. He is a great train, hard
:51:32. > :51:42.to stop and his legs keep on going, like jackhammers. Burrow has time to
:51:43. > :51:50.look around. But he wants to get on with it. They are looking to play
:51:51. > :51:58.this out, now, Leeds. Not exactly grind it out, but do this in a
:51:59. > :52:09.professional way. Micky Higham. It is up to Warrington to get
:52:10. > :52:24.themselves back in. Do not forget, tomorrow, my word, the semifinal,
:52:25. > :52:29.Castleford against Widnes. We still have 22 minutes left to play in this
:52:30. > :52:34.match. Joel Moon took the gamble on the intercept and that worked out
:52:35. > :52:42.very well for Warrington. It did. Chris Bridge. They are a bit flat at
:52:43. > :52:51.the moment, they look out of their depth if they are going wide.
:52:52. > :52:57.Ratchford. The dummy half is going to have a dabble. Carries it to
:52:58. > :53:05.within ten. Warrington have opportunities. It has gone behind
:53:06. > :53:13.Richie Myler. They have another set of six. Atkins is very close to
:53:14. > :53:18.getting there. Still pushing. Just held up, but we have six tackles to
:53:19. > :53:21.go, this is the moment for Warrington, if they are going to get
:53:22. > :53:35.back into this semifinal, it is here and now. Chris Bridge, offering it
:53:36. > :53:42.to Westwood. He is not sure. The referee is right there. The referee
:53:43. > :53:44.is right there. They have got to go to the video referee, and we will
:53:45. > :53:54.hear from him once again. We will go to the offload. Make sure
:53:55. > :54:19.that the tackle is not completed. That is fine. The ball carrying arm
:54:20. > :54:26.is up, that is fine. We will see if Ratchford grounds it. Can we have
:54:27. > :54:35.another look at the angle from the side? Looks like the arm is on top
:54:36. > :54:47.of the ball and that is fine. We can slow this write-down. It looks like
:54:48. > :54:55.this is a tri- -- try. -- we can slow this right down. The decision
:54:56. > :55:00.has been confirmed and the Warrington fans are celebrating, the
:55:01. > :55:06.semifinal is not over yet. That was the try they desperately needed and
:55:07. > :55:12.now this is game on. They went to their big players, and that was a
:55:13. > :55:17.great offload. Ratchford, in support, he finishes the play, Chris
:55:18. > :55:35.Bridge would be halfway. They looked very threatening. It was a great
:55:36. > :55:42.angle from Westwood. Great offload. Chris Bridge, this will chip away at
:55:43. > :55:50.the lead if it goes over, and it should go over from this position.
:55:51. > :56:00.Second of the day, his first one hit the post. He has successfully
:56:01. > :56:05.completed the task at hand. There is now a very different complexion
:56:06. > :56:11.about this game. Great play of the ball. Lovely late ball from Chris
:56:12. > :56:22.Bridge, great offload. Very good support play. Fantastic from
:56:23. > :56:33.Westwood, it really was. Fabulous play. What news on the touchline? I
:56:34. > :56:38.went down to the benches, I was standing alongside Jamie Peacock,
:56:39. > :56:47.battered and bruised, and they were on their feet, all of a sudden the
:56:48. > :56:52.Jutes, no one wanted to sit down. -- all of the substitutes. They thought
:56:53. > :56:56.it was not a try at first, but then they realised it was, and they
:56:57. > :57:04.realise they have a real game on their hands, the Leeds players.
:57:05. > :57:08.Still an element of comfort in the score for Leeds, but Warrington are
:57:09. > :57:17.edging close. Self belief is returning to them. Monaghan. Having
:57:18. > :57:24.a go. This is the six tackle coming up. Warrington, looking for a good
:57:25. > :57:36.finish. Chris Bridge, looking for the kit, the twigs and between. --
:57:37. > :57:42.kick, twixt and between. What you make of this, Robbie Paul? Leeds
:57:43. > :57:48.know they have got to see the game out, and one important aspect they
:57:49. > :57:53.cannot let go, that is their intensity, and that is they need to
:57:54. > :57:59.do. The final 20 minutes for Warrington, they will throw
:58:00. > :58:12.everything at them. Is boiling up nicely. Burrow. Obstruction, was
:58:13. > :58:19.that of destruction? Warrington have got this anyway -- was that
:58:20. > :58:31.obstruction? Leeds cannot stop playing, they have got to play. That
:58:32. > :58:37.was good thinking. Michael Monaghan. Chris Hill, clattering challenge
:58:38. > :58:45.from Ian Kirke. Chris Hill, he still carries. Down on his knees. It is a
:58:46. > :58:50.knock-on, he had a look at the referee and that gave it away. At
:58:51. > :58:56.least Leeds are going to get it back. One big minute, that is what
:58:57. > :59:03.Michael Monaghan is asking for from his side. That is a very big
:59:04. > :59:12.knock-on, very big. He gave himself up. Yes, he should have played on.
:59:13. > :59:27.11 mistakes on Warrington to five from Leeds. -- from Warrington.
:59:28. > :59:35.Burrow. 63% possession for Warrington in the second half, that
:59:36. > :59:42.is like a mirror image of the first. Yes, apart from the mistakes, that
:59:43. > :59:48.is the one standout point. Briscoe. And the fact that Leeds have scored
:59:49. > :59:57.a try, of course, despite being under the cosh. Burrow will be
:59:58. > :00:03.looking to get the kit, and that is very good pressure from Ratchford.
:00:04. > :00:10.-- kick. Leeds, I'm tangling a little bit. It was a strange kick.
:00:11. > :00:19.-- on tangling. Very good pressure. Very good
:00:20. > :00:30.pressure, the little things make all the difference.
:00:31. > :00:39.Chris Bridge has had more influence in this second period since his move
:00:40. > :00:51.to the middle of the park. I think he has made a huge difference to the
:00:52. > :01:02.Warrington team. Monaghan has lost the ball because he temporarily lost
:01:03. > :01:09.consciousness. It is a tough game. He came down awkwardly. It was a
:01:10. > :01:30.clash of heads. A clash of heads with Sutcliffe. It will be
:01:31. > :01:34.possession to Leeds. Monaghan has been on the wards. They have to be
:01:35. > :01:40.careful. There is a lot of Mcquay is mild. But head injuries are a
:01:41. > :01:52.growing concern. -- there is a lot of machismo. You have got to be so
:01:53. > :02:10.careful because players, their health and safety is a priority.
:02:11. > :02:20.Sinfield is down injured. It will be interesting to see what happens. It
:02:21. > :02:33.looks like it may have been a clash of heads. Let us have a look at
:02:34. > :02:39.this. A bit of whiplash, really. Was he fair to make that challenge,
:02:40. > :02:46.Brian Noble? Can I see it again! These are split second things. You
:02:47. > :03:05.look at it in normal speed to see if he was committed or not. That was
:03:06. > :03:11.late. I'm not sure they can go back to it because a player has played
:03:12. > :03:13.the ball after it. One of these get up and get on with it moments.
:03:14. > :03:47.Slowing things down a little. They have kept Russell under wraps.
:03:48. > :04:01.They have done really well, Leeds. Russell has not had one clear
:04:02. > :04:05.running chance. The next score, if there is going to be one, is going
:04:06. > :04:11.to be crucial. If Leeds score, they are out of sight. If Warrington
:04:12. > :04:21.score, they are back in with more than just a sniff.
:04:22. > :04:32.Game over. Evans was brushed away and Tom Briscoe is going back to
:04:33. > :04:37.Wembley, surely! He was there last year with the Hull side that were
:04:38. > :04:45.beaten. He is going there this year, you would think, with a Leeds
:04:46. > :04:48.side looking to break the jinx. There is still time but Leeds have
:04:49. > :04:57.opened up a huge margin, psychologically and on the
:04:58. > :05:04.scoreboard. Loose pass. He swoops on it. I thought he was going to get
:05:05. > :05:16.run down for a second. Rhys Evans did well to get to him. It was a
:05:17. > :05:27.great hand off. That could be it. Under the posts, converging, the 14
:05:28. > :05:35.points there again. -- conversion. Rhys Evans did really well to get
:05:36. > :05:39.anywhere close. These semifinals can go one way on the pendulum on the
:05:40. > :05:46.bounce of a ball. Warrington have been the more dominant side. A team
:05:47. > :05:50.like Leeds, you give them a sniff, and it is all over. Warrington have
:05:51. > :05:55.had a couple of opportunities and they have not scored. Leeds have had
:05:56. > :06:09.two opportunities and they have scored. That has been the
:06:10. > :06:21.difference. He will not miss this. He does not have to rush things. A
:06:22. > :06:26.kick that will put Leeds 14 points ahead. Warrington have two score
:06:27. > :06:31.three times in the 11 and a half minutes that remain. Have they got
:06:32. > :06:42.that in them? Is this going to be Leeds's day. Warrington have to be
:06:43. > :06:53.more expansive. They have to take more risks. That opens up the
:06:54. > :06:57.possibility of another Leeds score. They went short. They went for the
:06:58. > :07:06.gamble but it has not paid off. The Leeds fans in good voice. Warrington
:07:07. > :07:12.have never lost at this ground. They have only played here three times
:07:13. > :07:36.previously. But it was still a decent record they brought here.
:07:37. > :07:56.Absolutely perfect! Great kick. Fabulous. This is where they want to
:07:57. > :08:02.play. When you have somebody doing that to you, it rips the hard side
:08:03. > :08:10.of your spirits. That is why he is so important to this Leeds team. You
:08:11. > :08:16.talk about the old guard, they know what to do. That game sense. It is
:08:17. > :08:32.like a dagger in the hard if you are Warrington.
:08:33. > :08:41.It was the Challenge Cup that brought Rhys Evans into rugby
:08:42. > :08:50.schools finals. Was spotted and signed up. Kallum Watkins has worked
:08:51. > :09:14.hard defensively today. Nine minutes left. A very healthy
:09:15. > :09:29.lead for a Leeds. The Leeds fans celebrating in the
:09:30. > :09:57.sunshine. Kallum Watkins gliding. Not able to
:09:58. > :10:17.swerve past the Warrington defenders. The blindside option was
:10:18. > :10:31.closed off. That takes the sting out of the situation. Good play. They
:10:32. > :10:36.know their way from here. You would think so. All that semifinal
:10:37. > :10:41.experience. They will get sick of the questions the next few weeks.
:10:42. > :10:51.How much is that missing piece of the jigsaw hurting, the fact they
:10:52. > :11:20.have not won a Challenge Cup final here?
:11:21. > :11:28.That was a forward pass. It will be Leeds get possession back again.
:11:29. > :11:39.Again, the bouncing ball is always awkward. A great tackle. There have
:11:40. > :11:45.been a couple of moments from Peacock and Ablett, when Warrington
:11:46. > :11:54.have made breaks. There is a lot of desire in this team. Far too many
:11:55. > :11:56.errors by Warrington. The try saving tackles and the opportunities, Leeds
:11:57. > :12:33.have come on top. Peacock back on for a Leeds. He
:12:34. > :12:57.wants to be involved at this stage of the game.
:12:58. > :13:11.Six minutes remaining. There is still time. There is still time. We
:13:12. > :13:12.have seen It would be the story of the year. Certainly the story of the
:13:13. > :13:23.weekend. We have not seen a lot of Matty
:13:24. > :13:33.Russell doing that today. That is what he is capable of.
:13:34. > :13:52.To rhetoric from Warrington. Plenty of tackles left. -- terrific from
:13:53. > :13:57.Warrington. Westwood touches down! Well, we are going to have to go to
:13:58. > :14:02.the video referee. You would have to use a offside. But if the Leeds
:14:03. > :14:11.player has pulled it backwards, this will be a try.
:14:12. > :14:17.I want to make sure the ball went backwards of Warrington. It appears
:14:18. > :14:22.the Leeds player and knocked the ball down. Westwood was OK in that
:14:23. > :14:27.position if it comes off a Leeds player. Can we have a closer view of
:14:28. > :14:33.that, please? Does the ball go back from Warrington? Yes it does.
:14:34. > :15:02.Westwood grounds the ball. Try. Warrington have a try with five
:15:03. > :15:07.minutes remaining. You would suggest it is too little, too late. Full
:15:08. > :15:23.marks to Ben Westwood keeping his wits about him. The cake is over.
:15:24. > :15:33.24-16. -- kick. How are you going to say it? Or am I going to say it? The
:15:34. > :15:40.goal kick at the start from Kevin Sinfield looks as though it may be
:15:41. > :15:44.worth its weight in gold. We have written Warrington off at our peril.
:15:45. > :15:46.I take full responsibility for that. I had written them off. They still
:15:47. > :16:24.have a glimmer of a hope. They have field position now.
:16:25. > :16:25.Sutcliffe was grasping at that. Warrington starred with six tackles
:16:26. > :16:39.and they have about 48 yards. Sutcliffe is done well since coming
:16:40. > :17:02.on for a Leeds. Warrington flooding forward.
:17:03. > :17:07.Hardaker cleared it up but it is a dropout underneath the stakes.
:17:08. > :17:15.Warrington get the ball back. The clock is against them now. Leeds
:17:16. > :17:24.will take every second. Very good positional play from the Leeds
:17:25. > :17:37.full-back. The referee stopped the clock. Three minutes and ten
:17:38. > :17:38.seconds. Ample time. That was a monster of a kick. Just what Leeds
:17:39. > :18:10.needed. It will be another 30 seconds at
:18:11. > :18:40.least before Warrington get their hands on the ball again.
:18:41. > :18:45.Warrington get it back earlier than they were expecting but there are
:18:46. > :19:02.still only a couple of minutes to go and a long way to cover.
:19:03. > :19:12.Man of the match, Jonathan Davies? On the one for me. The absolute
:19:13. > :19:25.standout player. It has got to be Jamie Peacock. Absolutely immense
:19:26. > :19:30.today. Warrington still hoping but hope is beginning to disappear. I
:19:31. > :19:33.think it is the clock that beats them in the end. They keep fighting
:19:34. > :19:51.on. Six tackles from here but they have
:19:52. > :20:06.to score twice. Just over one minute remaining. Surely that is it? It
:20:07. > :20:09.will be at least 30 seconds before the clock is stopped and there will
:20:10. > :20:17.simply be no time left for Warrington in this game. No, that is
:20:18. > :20:23.it. They will not score twice. The clock is stopped. A tremendous
:20:24. > :20:28.second-half effort from Warrington. Giving a quality side a 14 start is
:20:29. > :20:34.a big ask. Too many errors in the first half. Leeds have taken every
:20:35. > :20:47.opportunity. This man will take the Leeds Rhinos to Wembley. They will
:20:48. > :20:54.take all the time in the world. Kevin Sinfield with the drop out.
:20:55. > :20:59.Leeds have to make two or three tackles here to put this game to
:21:00. > :21:10.bed. Warrington will not score two tries in what remains of this game.
:21:11. > :21:23.Briscoe collected the ball superbly well. Fantastic take. His try could
:21:24. > :21:32.be crucial. Gave them a little breathing space. Momentum was with
:21:33. > :21:37.Warrington. There goes the hooter. It is Leeds who are through. The
:21:38. > :21:41.21st century has seen them dominate the Challenge Cup in terms of
:21:42. > :21:46.getting to the final. They have done it for a seventh time in 15 years.
:21:47. > :21:53.Is this going to be the year they finally win it? Tony Smith, the
:21:54. > :21:59.Warrington coach, with a hog of congratulations for his opposite
:22:00. > :22:04.number. It has been a great game. Whether it is witness or Castleford
:22:05. > :22:11.in the final, Leeds will go there as favourites. Jamie Peacock, the man
:22:12. > :22:17.of the match today, he will be with us tomorrow for the second
:22:18. > :22:27.semifinal. Summary big performances. Summary big performances this
:22:28. > :22:31.afternoon. -- so many. The first half cost Warrington beer. Yes, it
:22:32. > :22:38.was a very poor performance in the first half. That was the difference.
:22:39. > :22:41.Far too many errors. In the second half, they did create the
:22:42. > :22:46.opportunities to get back into the game with some great defence by the
:22:47. > :22:51.Leeds players. When Leeds had the opportunities, they scored their
:22:52. > :22:57.tries. That was the difference. Leeds the winners. Here is the
:22:58. > :23:02.winning coach. Congratulations. How big a
:23:03. > :23:07.performance was that? I thought we were huge in the first half. They
:23:08. > :23:11.respect to Warrington, it was never going to be like that in the second
:23:12. > :23:18.half. They chanced their arm and it came off to a degree. We had to dig
:23:19. > :23:24.in. It was a classic Challenge Cup tie. It means a lot to everybody.
:23:25. > :23:29.The fans were brilliant. It gives the players a lift. Immensely proud
:23:30. > :23:38.and privileged to be at Wembley again. What does it mean to get to
:23:39. > :23:43.Wembley? It is done. We have got to get there first. Along the way we
:23:44. > :23:47.have had to come up against some challenging teams to get there. Just
:23:48. > :23:53.to be at Wembley, we're going to enjoy. To get there is to be
:23:54. > :24:02.honoured. Not many people do that. We have to do the job when we are
:24:03. > :24:05.there. That ain't going to be easy. Whenever this man retires they will
:24:06. > :24:13.be scared. He has a presence about him. That word gets used quite often
:24:14. > :24:18.but it is an understatement with its -- with this fella. That looked
:24:19. > :24:23.quite brutal? Yes, it was a very tough game. Warrington have got
:24:24. > :24:28.pedigree in this cup, especially over ourselves. I thought the start
:24:29. > :24:32.was exceptional. We trained as well as we have all season this week.
:24:33. > :24:38.There was a real focus to start like that and we did. We kept hold of the
:24:39. > :24:48.ball. Wendy you start thinking about? No -- now! The last five
:24:49. > :24:51.seconds! I have not got many chances again. It is fantastic to be there.
:24:52. > :25:00.We have got London next week and then we build towards Wembley. What
:25:01. > :25:07.do Leeds have to do differently to win this final? Just go out there
:25:08. > :25:12.and win. That simple. Here is the Warrington Wolves coach,
:25:13. > :25:15.Tony Smith, who used to work with Jamie Peacock. A fantastic start to
:25:16. > :25:20.the second half but you left yourselves a little bit too much to
:25:21. > :25:26.do? Way too much. We did not control the first-half at all. We had to do
:25:27. > :25:31.too much defence in the early passage. We tried to front up to
:25:32. > :25:36.that but it takes a lot out of you. We did not deserve it overall. Had
:25:37. > :25:42.we been able to play like we played the second half, in the first-half,
:25:43. > :25:46.we might have troubled them. But he give 14 points to a class team like
:25:47. > :25:55.the Rhinos, it takes a lot of points to score. We were not quite up to
:25:56. > :25:59.that. We gave it a shot. I don't think it was a bad advert for our
:26:00. > :26:04.sport, the way it was played in the second half. Just a shame we did not
:26:05. > :26:09.put our best foot forward in the first-half.
:26:10. > :26:17.Thank you. It was very breathless at times. Dennis, your view of the
:26:18. > :26:22.game? I think Tony summed it up. Leeds play better than Warrington.
:26:23. > :26:33.The start of the game was really crucial. Leeds scored the points.
:26:34. > :26:37.Warrington had a go in the second half. The completion rate still was
:26:38. > :26:43.not fantastic. They completed a little bit better. But I always felt
:26:44. > :26:51.that Leeds were the better team on the day. No qualms from Tony Smith.
:26:52. > :26:57.He knows they were second best. Overall, defensively, Leeds or
:26:58. > :27:03.outstanding. Was the Tom Briscoe tribe where they put it to bed?
:27:04. > :27:08.Possibly. The damage was done early doors. Tony was talking about it.
:27:09. > :27:16.The Briscoe try was fantastic. Rob Burrow has to make a decision, who
:27:17. > :27:23.does he go for? Briscoe did the rest. He put his head down. He does
:27:24. > :27:30.a massive fundamental part of the game. On the way back, he has a
:27:31. > :27:38.little luck and he transfers the ball over, uses that arm to bend.
:27:39. > :27:43.Great piece of skill in itself. Brian, earlier in the season Leeds
:27:44. > :27:49.were so mean and defence. We saw aspects of that today again? And
:27:50. > :27:53.they had to score at the right time. They scored 24 points today to beat
:27:54. > :27:56.a very good team. I pick up on what Tony said about the first-half and
:27:57. > :28:02.how disappointed they were. What happens is it builds pressure on you
:28:03. > :28:05.as an offensive team. They have to play the whole of the second half
:28:06. > :28:10.perhaps not having to concede anything to get back into this game.
:28:11. > :28:14.The pressure that has led to that a try from Briscoe, because they are
:28:15. > :28:18.trying to play expansive rugby, I thought Warrington were to rhetoric
:28:19. > :28:20.in the second half. Leeds deserved the game.
:28:21. > :28:24.Absolutely. We will talk much more about this game on the red button.
:28:25. > :28:32.We have got the other game, Widnes at Castleford, tomorrow. -- Widnes
:28:33. > :28:37.against Castleford. But for now, Leeds booked their place at Wembley
:28:38. > :28:38.in the Challenge Cup final. We will find out tomorrow who will join
:28:39. > :28:46.them. Goodbye.
