:00:39. > :00:45.Good afternoon. Welcome to Wembley Stadium for one of the showpiece

:00:46. > :00:50.events of the sporting summer, the Challenge Cup final. Over the past

:00:51. > :00:55.few weeks we've been enjoying the achievements of our Olympians. Our

:00:56. > :01:44.rugby league players follow the same principles.

:01:45. > :01:51.It's a difficult question to answer, because this is a final that is very

:01:52. > :01:58.finely balanced. Hull FC arrived first. Lee Radford, Gareth Ellis

:01:59. > :02:04.leading them off the coach. Then came Tony Smith and his Warrington

:02:05. > :02:10.team, who have such pedigree in the Challenge Cup at Wembley over the

:02:11. > :02:15.last few seasons, and Westwood doing his own Bradley Wiggins. Under that

:02:16. > :02:24.big red screen we are just located right under that, in amongst the

:02:25. > :02:29.fans for the first 20 minutes or so. Wish us luck everybody. We are here

:02:30. > :02:35.surrounded by Hull and Warrington fans. We are by the rugby league

:02:36. > :02:41.statue. John and Brian, if I move you out of the way, you should be

:02:42. > :02:47.able to see the legends. Eric Ashton, Billy Boston and Alex Murphy

:02:48. > :02:52.and Martin Offiah, all commemorated on the statue behind me. No noble

:02:53. > :02:56.inevitable noble, Jon Wilkin or Jonathan Davies as yet, but there

:02:57. > :03:02.might be a new statue in years to come. A whole different purpose for

:03:03. > :03:06.that statue. It certainly wouldn't be as clean and shiny. This is going

:03:07. > :03:09.to be a sensational game. We've got the best two teams in the

:03:10. > :03:14.competition. We've got the most entertaining teams in the

:03:15. > :03:18.competition. If you were to set up a chessboard, the pieces are so

:03:19. > :03:25.similar and committing it might well be down to how they move those

:03:26. > :03:33.pieces. I can't wait for kick-off. There is always a buzz for a

:03:34. > :03:38.Challenge Cup special, but maybe the last two or three years that hasn't

:03:39. > :03:43.been the case. As a player these are things you don't see. You don't get

:03:44. > :03:48.to see the fans and get the sense of the atmosphere and the occasion. The

:03:49. > :03:53.players going through the tunnel don't see anything until the pitch

:03:54. > :03:57.and the beautiful Wembley Stadium. It is so finely balanced. There's

:03:58. > :04:02.such fine margins between the teams. Me, Brian and Jonathan have been

:04:03. > :04:05.talking about it. It is difficult to pick a facet of either side's game

:04:06. > :04:11.that will win the game for them today. Do you still get a buzz or do

:04:12. > :04:15.you worry for your own safety and want to go back indoors? When you

:04:16. > :04:19.come to Wembley it is an amazing place to play. You've got to keep

:04:20. > :04:23.your focus and composure. It is a great day out for the fans. As the

:04:24. > :04:28.boys have said you've got to two best sides in Super League. They are

:04:29. > :04:33.both on top form. It's the power of the Hull pack. It may be against the

:04:34. > :04:38.X Factor of the Warrington players. It is too tough to call. Hopefully

:04:39. > :04:42.it will be a classic. Previous years you think there's a favourite, they

:04:43. > :04:47.are going win. But on this occasion it is so tight to call. Kick-off is

:04:48. > :04:56.at 3 o'clock. This is what we've got coming up in the next hour for you.

:04:57. > :05:01.We'll meet both teams through Hull FC's Frank Pritchard and then Ashton

:05:02. > :05:09.Sims doing a bit of singing with his team-mates in a car in Warrington.

:05:10. > :05:14.And dancing. Brian Noble meets local boy Danny Houghton. And we'll also

:05:15. > :05:19.hear from the Warrington legend that is Ben west wood. Before one of the

:05:20. > :05:33.legends of the game joins at half-time, a man who has lifted this

:05:34. > :05:46.I want to focus on Taylor, Houghton, watts watts, Minichiello and Ellis.

:05:47. > :05:55.It is their strength that you think could be the the key? Absolutely.

:05:56. > :06:04.They feel a buzz, if Bowden and watts they want, have a lot of the

:06:05. > :06:13.ball, but their backs are no smaller. Look at Fonua and Talanoa

:06:14. > :06:18.and you've got pressure which tends to suggest they are trying to play

:06:19. > :06:22.the power game. People don't realise the whole emotion of the week. The

:06:23. > :06:27.players playing Super League aren't used to this. The media attention is

:06:28. > :06:31.bigger. They try and focus on the training sessions and then they have

:06:32. > :06:34.to travel down here. It is important for these players not to get

:06:35. > :06:38.overexcited. It is a tough place to play and the energy levels could be

:06:39. > :06:42.drained in the last minutes of the game. It is a very big side, so

:06:43. > :06:55.they've got to play on the front foot. Let's show you Warrington 17.

:06:56. > :07:06.A greater pace with Warrington? I think so. We've got dynamic guys who

:07:07. > :07:11.run out a dummy half. Ratchford, Sandow, a lot of Warrington's game

:07:12. > :07:17.is built around defences on the back foot. Foot. Once those guys get into

:07:18. > :07:21.that space and exploit that space, it is difficult to defend the

:07:22. > :07:30.players on the back foot as they are so quick. I think Warrington have to

:07:31. > :07:33.play clever, try to attack Sneyd. The Hull pack have dominate sides

:07:34. > :07:37.this year. What's crucial for Warrington is the fact that they

:07:38. > :07:42.have to kick the ball well against this giant Hull pack. They've got to

:07:43. > :07:48.keep turning them around, get them on the roundabout doing circles to

:07:49. > :07:55.use their energy up. Play the ball in and around the ruck. Kicking the

:07:56. > :08:00.ball is important for this Warrington team today. Tony, how

:08:01. > :08:05.nice to be back at recommendably. It is a privilege. Every time we are

:08:06. > :08:10.here, we don't take it for granted, it's been a few years since we've

:08:11. > :08:16.been here but it is nice to be back. It is a special occasion. I have to

:08:17. > :08:21.throw you a statistic. Hull have never won a Challenge Cup final at

:08:22. > :08:25.Wembley. Is that a pain in the backside for you or encouragement?

:08:26. > :08:28.Thank you for reminding me of that! It is irrelevant. This group of

:08:29. > :08:32.players today, it is a new experience, one they are looking

:08:33. > :08:37.forward to massively. Can't wait for the kick-off to arrive. It's been a

:08:38. > :08:39.long time coming since the semifinal, but they've been really

:08:40. > :08:46.good, prepared really well. I think we are going to give ourselves a

:08:47. > :08:49.shot in the arm today. They've pip ?you narrowly both times in Super

:08:50. > :08:55.League. What do you need to do to reverse that? Play for 80 minutes.

:08:56. > :09:00.We need to kick well and defend well. Hopefully some of our flair

:09:01. > :09:04.and attack comes to fruition today and we don't make too many errors. A

:09:05. > :09:08.couple of times when we've played each other both teams have come up

:09:09. > :09:11.with way too many areas. Their kicking game has probably been

:09:12. > :09:15.decisive in the last couple of outings against each other. But

:09:16. > :09:20.every game is different. The weather is holding off and it is warm in

:09:21. > :09:24.here, so hopefully we'll get an open game. Two big sets of forwards and

:09:25. > :09:29.some big outside backs as well, so it should be exciting. It is a huge

:09:30. > :09:33.opportunity and hopefully they'll all embrace that and take it,

:09:34. > :09:39.because it would mean an awful lot for us to take that Challenge Cup

:09:40. > :09:43.back up to Hull. We've beaten St Helens, Catalans and we had a huge

:09:44. > :09:47.effort against Wigan. To knock the second team off in the competition

:09:48. > :09:54.as well, it's going to be duff but it is one we are looking forward to.

:09:55. > :10:00.Good luck. Cheers, Bob. Just to highlight how finely balanced this

:10:01. > :10:03.final is, if we show you current Super 8s table, these two, only a

:10:04. > :10:07.point separating them. Warrington have the best attack and the best

:10:08. > :10:11.defence. Hull have the second best attack and the third-best defence.

:10:12. > :10:16.That just shows how difficult to call this is. I go back to my

:10:17. > :10:22.chessboard. How do you separate them? It is handling the occasion is

:10:23. > :10:26.going be the difference. There's so many good players out there. We'll

:10:27. > :10:30.witness that, witness their prowess on the field. But it is which coach

:10:31. > :10:34.has prepared their team to best handle this occasion will get over

:10:35. > :10:39.the line. Game plans are usually a small part of the day. You get the

:10:40. > :10:42.small parts right, but a really important thing today is the game

:10:43. > :10:46.plans, how the teams organise themselves. Tony Smith mentioned a

:10:47. > :10:51.kicking game. Brian mentioned a kicking game. Without doubt

:10:52. > :10:55.Warrington will be kicking to corners, kick long and turn this

:10:56. > :10:58.Hull team around. But Warrington want to speed that game up.

:10:59. > :11:05.Controlling it might be the focus of both sides They've got to drain the

:11:06. > :11:16.tank of the Hull players. They are a big side. Sneyd is crucial. All the

:11:17. > :11:21.play comes from him. If you look at the big match players, more maybe on

:11:22. > :11:25.the Hull side, but more importantly half-backs of the Warrington are big

:11:26. > :11:31.game players. You've played against both, you are the current player

:11:32. > :11:38.amongst us all. Hoot is the biggest team to play against. I hope the

:11:39. > :11:44.viewers at home would have spot I'm a current player. These two sides

:11:45. > :11:48.are fantastic. The teams are well balanced. Warrington, speed, as

:11:49. > :11:52.Jonathan mentioned, dynamic runners of the ball. Hull, we played Hull in

:11:53. > :11:55.the cup and they were so physical and powerful that day. They

:11:56. > :11:59.destroyed us through the middle of the field. That intimidating power

:12:00. > :12:05.that Hull have could be the keel for them today. The again, very tight.

:12:06. > :12:12.We haven't spoken much about Hull. We've spoken about what Warrington

:12:13. > :12:16.needs to do. Sneyd kicks well. We go back to the Hull team. I think the

:12:17. > :12:20.key for them is the emotional balance and the prowess of Gareth

:12:21. > :12:29.Ellis. If he can get going on the front foot... On a day like today,

:12:30. > :12:34.it is huge. The way they've played, they'll be hoping this game is in

:12:35. > :12:39.the bag with 10 minutes to go. It is like the speed of the Warrington

:12:40. > :12:46.side will kill them in maybe 10 minutes. Give us a wave. Do the

:12:47. > :12:52.proper wave. Come on! The moment's gone! That's how the current Super

:12:53. > :12:56.League is like and how Warrington and Hull have gone. These are two of

:12:57. > :12:59.the great rugby league clubs, with an awful lot of Challenge Cup

:13:00. > :13:16.history. Rock around the clock by Bill

:13:17. > :13:38.Hayley. COMMENTATOR: A record Wembley score

:13:39. > :15:27.of 38-5. Plenty of memories, as we have said,

:15:28. > :15:31.but as we have also alluded to, Wembley Stadium itself does not hold

:15:32. > :15:35.great memories for Hull FC. Although they have won the Challenge Cup

:15:36. > :15:39.before, never at this famous stadium, either in its old or its

:15:40. > :15:49.new guys. Do you really believe that this record affects a modern-day

:15:50. > :15:53.club when you are going back to 1959 and 1960? It shouldn't, but the

:15:54. > :16:00.people that live in Hull are reminded when they go to the shops

:16:01. > :16:04.or for a drink, they go to the other side of the river, they are reminded

:16:05. > :16:09.all the time. For the Hull people, they should not, it is a one-off

:16:10. > :16:12.occasion for themselves, but I am sure they will be reminded of it if

:16:13. > :16:15.they don't get over the Linux Michael Block I don't ever think

:16:16. > :16:20.consciously of it, if it were my team, but we are talking about it

:16:21. > :16:24.now, it may well be in the subconscious of the Hull players,

:16:25. > :16:29.and that can manifest in all sorts of behaviour on the field. I don't

:16:30. > :16:33.think it does, this is a different entity from any game in the season,

:16:34. > :16:39.to get the Cup run, this is a different game. As I said before, it

:16:40. > :16:50.is in London, the fans come down, it brings its own pressure, because it

:16:51. > :16:52.is what it is. Can you honestly tell me if you were playing for Hull

:16:53. > :16:55.today, rather than talking to us, the previous record would not bother

:16:56. > :16:58.you at all? I do not think you would consciously think about it, the

:16:59. > :17:03.message we are sending by talking about it, the media, like you say,

:17:04. > :17:07.fans of rival teams may mention it, it is subconscious. It is more

:17:08. > :17:14.relevant for the players who played in the defeat to Wigan. Probably

:17:15. > :17:18.not, the occasion brings the euphoria among the city. I coached

:17:19. > :17:22.the Bradford side, moving around the city, history does play its part,

:17:23. > :17:27.but it is your job to separate from that, focus on what is in front of

:17:28. > :17:31.them. There is no job that it will be mentioned by somebody, when they

:17:32. > :17:37.bump into people, you have to talk about it, it is nothing to do with

:17:38. > :17:43.us. At St Helens, we lost five Grand Finals on the spin, going to Old

:17:44. > :17:47.Trafford every year, that is in your conscience, you can physically feel

:17:48. > :17:50.the pain, but only a few Hull players have felt that. I can

:17:51. > :17:56.empathise with those guys, but the guys who are new to the system, it

:17:57. > :18:01.doesn't affect them at all. It comes down to mental toughness, you have

:18:02. > :18:04.just got to prepare properly. Some interesting people behind John

:18:05. > :18:15.there! This is how both sides got to the final in the Challenge Cup.

:18:16. > :18:29.Sneyd with a short pass, and over goes Gareth Ellis! And it is a try

:18:30. > :18:37.in the corner, in athletics they'll! -- in athletic style! George King

:18:38. > :18:43.goes in, that is great play from Warrington. And Warrington are

:18:44. > :18:53.scoring another try, it is a hat-trick for George King.

:18:54. > :19:08.Taylor is too strong here, need support, gets it, hooker! -- Dwyer

:19:09. > :19:24.does not need six, he just needs one.

:19:25. > :19:34.He has dropped it, and it is thought by Talanoa! Hull FC are going to

:19:35. > :19:39.Wembley! Here comes Westerman, Sandow goes

:19:40. > :19:50.left again, Atkins steps back inside, Sandow, over he goes! The

:19:51. > :19:54.primrose and blue is back on Wembley Way.

:19:55. > :20:01.There is no doubt, Brian Noble, that Warrington have had an easier run to

:20:02. > :20:05.this final and Hull. They have played big teams as well, so they

:20:06. > :20:10.will be ready. The toughness of Hull's route will stand them in good

:20:11. > :20:13.stead. More importantly, they know they can come back from any

:20:14. > :20:18.situation and score points. Warrington will feel the same,

:20:19. > :20:22.because if they get themselves behind, they know they have the

:20:23. > :20:29.arsenal and prowess in their ranch to get back on terms. Warrington's

:20:30. > :20:34.semifinal and Hull's semifinal were completely different, against Wigan

:20:35. > :20:37.for Hull, very tight, but Warrington's was a blow out score.

:20:38. > :20:43.They played fantastic, they did all they could do, and I do not think

:20:44. > :20:48.that will influence their confidence. Last week, the roles

:20:49. > :20:52.were reversed, Hull had the easy game. As I said before, this is

:20:53. > :20:56.totally different, you come prepared. Whoever plays to the best

:20:57. > :21:02.of their ability wins the game. They are contrasting sides. If it all

:21:03. > :21:05.goes to plan, Hull will play how they have played, but you have got

:21:06. > :21:10.that X Factor with Warrington, they may have to play that card today.

:21:11. > :21:15.For the moment, thank you very much, we will meet the teams later. Thank

:21:16. > :21:20.you to Frank Pritchard and Ashton Sims, but we are going to focus on

:21:21. > :21:25.the special day for 32 fans who are putting together a quiet courtesy of

:21:26. > :21:30.Songs Of Praise, they are going to seeing Abide With Me prior to the

:21:31. > :21:35.game, and Tanya Arnold is down there with them and some familiar faces.

:21:36. > :21:40.I am indeed, I have dived very nervous singers representing their

:21:41. > :21:44.clubs, I am guessing the two in the middle are even more nervous! And we

:21:45. > :21:48.have got Aled Jones and Lizzie Jones, you have been putting the

:21:49. > :21:53.guys through their paces, what were they like? It was me that was

:21:54. > :21:57.nervous! No, it is going to be fantastic, 32 people who have never

:21:58. > :22:02.sang in Wembley before singing Abide With Me, it doesn't get better than

:22:03. > :22:08.that. You only got them this morning, what NUT to them? We have

:22:09. > :22:12.had Martin Offiah saying, do not be nervous, seize the moment, sing,

:22:13. > :22:17.enjoy it. I have been doing this since I was nine years old, but what

:22:18. > :22:24.an occasion, enjoy it, it will be over before you know it. If you are

:22:25. > :22:28.nervous, what is it like for them?! They are here to enjoy it, the

:22:29. > :22:32.atmosphere is brilliant, imagine what it will be like at kick-off, we

:22:33. > :22:37.are going to have a really good time, we are ready. Fingers crossed!

:22:38. > :22:40.Lizzie, you reduced most of us to tears with your wonderful rendition

:22:41. > :22:46.last year, that must still be so vivid in your mind. Yeah, it is

:22:47. > :22:51.vivid and a blur as well, the feeling of walking out, I do not

:22:52. > :22:55.think I will ever lose. A special, special moment, just needs to take

:22:56. > :23:01.it in and enjoy it. What advice have you been giving these guys? Just

:23:02. > :23:09.stated in, enjoy it, smile, breathe, deep breaths. What has it been like

:23:10. > :23:13.for you to be involved? Special, very special, 32 deserving, special

:23:14. > :23:18.people, the stories were so wonderful. And still have 32 clubs

:23:19. > :23:25.represented at the Challenge Cup final by people that deserve to be

:23:26. > :23:32.here is wonderful. How old are you, for a start off? 12. How are you

:23:33. > :23:37.feeling? A bit scared, but excited. You while representing Keighley

:23:38. > :23:44.Cougars, give us a little bit of information about yourself. Well, I

:23:45. > :23:49.am doing this for my grandad, Neil Spencer, because he used to be very

:23:50. > :23:53.involved with Keighley Cougars, with the directors, and he had to stop

:23:54. > :23:59.because of memory problems. So I am making another memory for him. He is

:24:00. > :24:03.going to be so proud of you. Enjoy your day. We spoke to you when you

:24:04. > :24:10.found out that you had got it, when we were over at Warrington, now it

:24:11. > :24:15.is here, how are you feeling? Nervous, excited, tearful, so

:24:16. > :24:20.emotional. I can't put it into words, really. Then you have got a

:24:21. > :24:25.rugby league game to watch! Even more nerve wracking! Good luck! And

:24:26. > :24:32.you are supporting your team, Hull FC, what has the process been like

:24:33. > :24:38.for you? Can't hear you. What was it like this morning? It was amazing,

:24:39. > :24:42.walking out here, the feeling inside, it was absolutely

:24:43. > :24:47.marvellous, so exciting. I have just nearly cried and now, seeing them

:24:48. > :24:55.coming out of the tunnel. Two gentleman, you are representing

:24:56. > :24:59.Bradford and badly. I am Terry, I have made it down, what a wonderful

:25:00. > :25:05.day, what a spectacular place this is. Rome has got nothing on this,

:25:06. > :25:10.this is better than the Colosseum! Fantastic, the feeling you get here.

:25:11. > :25:20.It is incredible, awesome, what else can I say? Wonderful, wonderful, I

:25:21. > :25:23.am glad to be here. It is fascinating to be here, we have

:25:24. > :25:26.worked very hard as a choir as well, we have worked really hard to

:25:27. > :25:32.prepare, it is a dream come true for me. I have been coming here since

:25:33. > :25:37.1958, I never thought I would be out here. I am really pleased and

:25:38. > :25:43.honoured, thank you. We look forward to hearing you all, good luck!

:25:44. > :25:47.Well, Abide With Me is always a spine tingling moments, and we look

:25:48. > :25:51.forward to hearing that before the game gets under way. Jonathan, you

:25:52. > :25:56.are going to leave us, how do you see this going? It is a tough call,

:25:57. > :26:02.both sides, you know, are playing well. Hull are really, really

:26:03. > :26:07.looking solid, powerful upfront, Sneyd is controlling things. But

:26:08. > :26:11.they are the power, and you have got Warrington, you know, maybe with the

:26:12. > :26:18.ex factor, so it is a tough call. None of the fans are really thinking

:26:19. > :26:21.he was going to win, I think it could go down to the last ten

:26:22. > :26:25.minutes, see who has got energy in the tank. You still haven't given me

:26:26. > :26:29.a prediction, and I wonder whether it is you are surrounded by

:26:30. > :26:36.Warrington and Hull bans! On the form, you have to go with Hull.

:26:37. > :26:42.Jonathan is now going to go and take his place in the commentary box. I

:26:43. > :26:45.will tell you what we are going to do, you are told will not have a

:26:46. > :26:50.chance to meet the teams, so we will look at both set up teams, we will

:26:51. > :26:59.start with Hull FC, and their guide is Frank Pritchard.

:27:00. > :27:03.I am Frank Pritchard, welcome to Hull FC's training ground, I will

:27:04. > :27:11.take you in and show you around. Pritchard, Frank the tank is over

:27:12. > :27:19.the line! The only man I know that brings a TV camera to training! Few

:27:20. > :27:23.words, man? I am always looking after you, Frank. What is for

:27:24. > :27:53.dinner, mate? Meatballs! That guy walking in the room... This

:27:54. > :28:01.is Apollo Creed, why are you so tight? Island from the best, mate.

:28:02. > :28:12.-- island. Any words of wisdom you want to share with us? Carlos is

:28:13. > :28:27.on there four times a day, I can't get an! The coaches here too, can

:28:28. > :28:39.you zoom in on that?! I am Donald Trump, I do what I like, US

:28:40. > :28:52.presidential candidate. Here he is! Stop flexing, mate! Come here,

:28:53. > :29:05.kebab. # He loves his kebab is... #

:29:06. > :29:16.Everybody is happy around here, mate. What would it be like for you

:29:17. > :29:20.to win the Challenge Cup? Massive. We've never won at Wembley. That

:29:21. > :29:33.would be unbelievable. Can't wait to get on the field with you. Thanks

:29:34. > :29:40.guys, cheers. Thanks to Frank Pritchard for doing that. The Hull

:29:41. > :29:47.players are on the Wembley pitch going through their pre-match

:29:48. > :29:51.routines. As we can see, with Frank TV, having fun and relaxing before

:29:52. > :29:54.the big match today is extremely important. As you can see, we are

:29:55. > :29:58.blessed that we've had the opportunity to come inside the Hull

:29:59. > :30:03.FC changing room before they kick off the game. The boys have arrived.

:30:04. > :30:08.They've got a timeline of activities they need to do before kick-off.

:30:09. > :30:15.Stretching equipment is here. All the players are getting ready. A

:30:16. > :30:19.couple of the boys, some guys like to get ready in 20 minutes, others

:30:20. > :30:24.like to get ready and hour-and-a-half before the game. One

:30:25. > :30:28.of the most outstanding Super League players this year is Gareth Ellis.

:30:29. > :30:32.He is a little long in the tooth but he is well prepared. How has the

:30:33. > :30:38.team prepared this week? Obviously you weren't part of Frank's filming

:30:39. > :30:41.but everyone was having a lot of fun, enjoying yourself and relaxing

:30:42. > :30:47.this week has got to be important. Massive. We've spent a lot of time

:30:48. > :30:51.this week. We've been staying in a hotel for a few days. Just trying to

:30:52. > :30:57.stay as relaxed as possible. It is easy to get caught up in the emotion

:30:58. > :31:03.of this game. Controlling those emotions is easier said than done.

:31:04. > :31:07.The lads are ready to go. Have you noticed a difference today? The day

:31:08. > :31:11.of the game everyone wakes up a little more keyed up? Definitely.

:31:12. > :31:16.Everyone has had a spring in their step all week. Probably thinking of

:31:17. > :31:21.this game in the back of their minds for a few weeks. There is no

:31:22. > :31:25.embarrassment in that. There's been a stillness and quietness about the

:31:26. > :31:28.lads. I think that's just part of the day, knowing how important it is

:31:29. > :31:36.to everybody. Thank you, and the best of luck. Thank you very much.

:31:37. > :31:40.So that is Hull. As for Warrington, the Fijian international Ashton Sims

:31:41. > :31:45.is experiencing the Challenge Cup final for the first time and he is

:31:46. > :31:48.going to introduce us to some of his Warrington team-mates. Just to

:31:49. > :31:53.reiterate, because it is very important, this was filmed on a

:31:54. > :32:00.private road under full supervision, and he only drove at 1 mile an hour.

:32:01. > :32:11.Hey guys, Ashton Sims here from Warrington Wolves. This is a bit of

:32:12. > :32:24.our car karaoke, here's Metallica. Sleep with one eye open, gripping

:32:25. > :32:32.our pillow tight. It's a pleasure to be in your company. This is a

:32:33. > :32:47.special. Stevie Wonder, baby. Like a fool I went and stayed too long. I

:32:48. > :32:53.think Sandy is there at the moment. Ooh baby, here I am, signed, sealed,

:32:54. > :32:59.delivered, I'm yours. Most fashionable? I will tell you what,

:33:00. > :33:13.there's a couple of fashionable dudes in this car. These are just my

:33:14. > :33:20.dog walking pants. Champion, champion, champion. Come on, boys,

:33:21. > :33:27.you know this song. Everybody knows we are a champion. Lineham line,

:33:28. > :33:35.common sense-wise, but he isn't brilliant. He is book smart not

:33:36. > :33:41.street smart. He can boil an egg but not split the at Tom. Describe each

:33:42. > :33:52.member in the car in three words. Big, tough and durable. Good

:33:53. > :33:57.looking, ugly. Smart. Cheers, boys. I'm doing my giraffe dance. I can

:33:58. > :34:03.feel it coming in the air tonight. This is my first final. I've played

:34:04. > :34:09.1 years now. For it to happen this year would be unbelievable. How you

:34:10. > :34:13.doing? Good? I've been lucky enough to win it the first year I was at

:34:14. > :34:20.Warrington. It is something I want to experience again and get that

:34:21. > :34:25.feeling again. I can fight coming in the air tonight... I'm looking

:34:26. > :34:38.forward to creating history with my mates. So, following up on the

:34:39. > :34:42.relaxed Warrington Wolves karaoke. The boys are getting a little bit

:34:43. > :34:45.serious, reading about themselves in the programme. They are going to

:34:46. > :34:51.focus on the massive job in front of them. Everybody has their own

:34:52. > :35:00.changing room locker. Matthew Russell's there, and Reece Evans.

:35:01. > :35:03.Kurt Gidley, you've played in amazing games Down Under. You've

:35:04. > :35:08.been there, done that. How important is it for you to play in this

:35:09. > :35:12.Wembley Cup Final? Oh mate, it's one of the biggest experiences of my

:35:13. > :35:18.life, to be honest. This is my first experience of a Cup Final. To play

:35:19. > :35:23.in a ground like Wembley, an iconic ground around the world. World. I'm

:35:24. > :35:28.excited. Positive. We are all pretty pumped up now. Do you feel extra

:35:29. > :35:32.pressure because this is your first major Cup Final? I don't think so.

:35:33. > :35:37.The only thing that changes is more effort in the tough areas. We are up

:35:38. > :35:41.against a tough team. We have both been consistent throughout the year.

:35:42. > :35:45.We sit one and two on the ladder, so we expect a tough game ourselves. I

:35:46. > :35:51.don't think there is any extra pressure. It is just about more

:35:52. > :35:57.effort for your team-mates. That's what wins the big games. Kick well,

:35:58. > :36:03.keep chasing, and defend well that. Cycle. Whoever does that best will

:36:04. > :36:07.become the cup winners. All the best and good luck. Thank you. I have to

:36:08. > :36:11.say normally when you do big sporting events it takes a while for

:36:12. > :36:15.the stadium to fill up. A lot of people are outside or on the

:36:16. > :36:22.concourse until the last possible minute enjoying the food, the drink

:36:23. > :36:28.and the atmosphere. This I would say is already half full at Wembley

:36:29. > :36:32.Stadium. Myself and Brian are come in to our inside studio, where Jamie

:36:33. > :36:37.Peacock has been. You were down there a year ago. It has filled up

:36:38. > :36:41.early hasn't it today compared to previous years? It feels a special

:36:42. > :36:45.atmosphere down there. I think people are expecting a great game,

:36:46. > :36:50.that's why. It is a privilege to play in the game. Tommy Smith said

:36:51. > :36:57.one competition that's lasted three centuries. It started in 1897 so it

:36:58. > :37:03.is a great privilege to play in it. That anticipation and excitement, a

:37:04. > :37:08.cracker. When we heard Ashton Sims talking in the car between the music

:37:09. > :37:11.about he's had a 13-year career and what this is going mean to him, even

:37:12. > :37:16.last year at the end of your career, and you've been in the game a long

:37:17. > :37:21.time, did you feel nerves when you came out? Not nerves, no nerves,

:37:22. > :37:27.because it is about nailing the game plan, what you've got to do for the

:37:28. > :37:31.team, making sure you get 9 out of 10 personal performance and then you

:37:32. > :37:36.can enjoy it. I thought, this is what I'm paid to do, it is what I'm

:37:37. > :37:43.good to do, playing rugby league. If you asked me to dance or sing, I

:37:44. > :37:48.would be nervous. But with rugby I'm good at doing it. Is it the

:37:49. > :37:53.anticipation? I would say it's knowing that you are playing in such

:37:54. > :37:58.a showcase event. Knowing that 70,000 or 80 tow people are here.

:37:59. > :38:02.Winning be so great. It is so enjoyable, but losing hurts like

:38:03. > :38:05.hell. It is the worst feeling there is but winning is absolutely

:38:06. > :38:10.beautiful. I think Jamie's experience through the years has

:38:11. > :38:13.helped him prepare and use that excitement rather than nervousness.

:38:14. > :38:18.There are young players on each team here now and it would be to the

:38:19. > :38:24.likes of the Ashton Sims that's played in big games or the Gidleys,

:38:25. > :38:28.Gareth Ellis or anybody that's reinforce the coach's message. You

:38:29. > :38:33.need to enjoy this, use this excitement and go for the game. As a

:38:34. > :38:38.senior player, all the younger players look up to you and you have

:38:39. > :38:41.to be confident in what you do and exude that in and around the

:38:42. > :38:45.dressing room in your body language and demeanor. That will rub off on

:38:46. > :38:52.the team. I might ask you to go and sing and dance down there later.

:38:53. > :39:00.Let's focus on Danny Houghton, the man who is going to make Hull FC

:39:01. > :39:04.tick this afternoon. Brian went to meet him. The season so far, top to

:39:05. > :39:10.which Super League, a Challenge Cup final. What's been the difference

:39:11. > :39:13.this year? I think the group we've got together, we've signed some

:39:14. > :39:18.fantastic players and they've brought a lot to the squad in terms

:39:19. > :39:25.of making it more of a family club, it really shows on the field. The

:39:26. > :39:28.quality of your squad and all them youngsters, all them Hull kids. You

:39:29. > :39:33.are born and bred here, does that make a difference to the team? When

:39:34. > :39:37.you are born here you strive extra, that 1% to get your club you have

:39:38. > :39:42.supported all your life over the line. Probably 10 or 12 blokes from

:39:43. > :39:50.Hull. It is a massive plus for the team. You know them Rovers fans...

:39:51. > :39:55.They love it don't they. They can't, you'll never win at Wembley. The

:39:56. > :40:00.last time you did win it was 2005. Yeah, at Cardiff. It wasn't at

:40:01. > :40:06.Wembley. How do you preach this one, what will get you over the line this

:40:07. > :40:10.time? This season we've been behind the scoreboard with 10 or 5 minutes

:40:11. > :40:15.to go, we are still confident we can get the result. We've got a winning

:40:16. > :40:20.mentality about it. Winning breeds winning.

:40:21. > :40:26.COMMENTATOR: A beautiful try! An unbelievable side in the '80s. They

:40:27. > :40:32.had a great Kiwi contingent. Tell me about your band of brothers. I think

:40:33. > :40:40.they bring unity and the camaraderie around the place it is always up. If

:40:41. > :40:46.it's down, Big Frankie, he jumps on board and makes sure the boys have a

:40:47. > :40:49.spring in their step. But your form has been highlighted this year. What

:40:50. > :40:55.do you think is the difference in your game? To have a pack like we've

:40:56. > :40:58.got and to get us on the front foot, that's a hooker's dream to play on

:40:59. > :41:04.the front foot. I love attacking and creating tries and opportunities for

:41:05. > :41:08.people. A man of steel nominations have been tied and I've got to lock

:41:09. > :41:12.new the changing room, you and Gareth Ellis, and the winner comes

:41:13. > :41:18.out. He wins every time. Have you seen the size of him? His hands are

:41:19. > :41:25.bigger than my head! From hooker to hooker... I want to play really well

:41:26. > :41:31.against Daryl Clark. If I can get the number, I'm sure I will us us

:41:32. > :41:38.into that result. Hopefully I can lift that trophy. A blast, mate.

:41:39. > :41:44.Thank you. And to tell us the how he thinks they are going to play today,

:41:45. > :41:50.Robbie with the Hull FC game plan. This is it. This is what it's all

:41:51. > :41:53.about. Wembley Stadium, the two best teams in the Super League going head

:41:54. > :41:58.to head. The conditions are brilliant today. This is the type of

:41:59. > :42:06.day you want to play on. How are Hull going to go about their job

:42:07. > :42:11.today? These boys have some of the most powerful players in the Super

:42:12. > :42:15.League. The man I want you to keep your eye on today is this man, Danny

:42:16. > :42:21.Houghton. He is the smallest player in the pack but he is devastating

:42:22. > :42:27.once he plays the ball. He can run out and cause disruption to all the

:42:28. > :42:48.players. If they do their job well they'll cause problems. Other

:42:49. > :42:54.players, big across your back, this is Mahe Fonua. A powerhouse. I will

:42:55. > :42:58.see if I can grab him. How have preparations gone today, are you

:42:59. > :43:03.looking forward to this game? I've had a great week's training. The

:43:04. > :43:09.boys are ready for it. How important is it to Hull to get a win today? It

:43:10. > :43:16.is huge. We won the Challenge Cup in the past but not at this stadium.

:43:17. > :43:27.All the best, and good luck to you. Thank you. Brian Noble used to be

:43:28. > :43:31.Robbie's coach. Danny Houghton will be wearing the player mic for us

:43:32. > :43:35.today, and Daryl Clark will be doing the same for Warrington. That's

:43:36. > :43:39.going to be a fascinating listen over the course of the next 80

:43:40. > :43:45.minutes. But as regards them taking each other on, that's going be even

:43:46. > :43:49.more fascinating. It epitomises what I've been talking about in the Hull

:43:50. > :43:54.build-up. They are both similar in what they do. If they can get on the

:43:55. > :44:00.front foot they are going to run out a dummy half. With false prowess and

:44:01. > :44:04.the bigger size, Danny's offensive game, Lee Radford has helped him, he

:44:05. > :44:07.is more dangerous and smarter. That's not being disrespectful.

:44:08. > :44:12.Disrespectful. He knows when the hand the ball on and when the run.

:44:13. > :44:19.Run. We can see Houghton's process. Organises his feet well and explodes

:44:20. > :44:23.out of the dummy half. He has Leon Pryce on this occasion and finishes

:44:24. > :44:29.the there. Any opportunity, he's is going to take the metres. He showed

:44:30. > :44:34.these skills last year because the pack didn't have the power, but this

:44:35. > :44:39.year they've got the power. He's been known in Super League for his

:44:40. > :44:42.defensive work but this year his offence is to the fore. Had is an

:44:43. > :45:01.athlete. As quick as they come. , he is getting a bit of a rest

:45:02. > :45:09.these days, with the wire coming from the bench, which makes an even

:45:10. > :45:17.more dangerous around dummy half. -- Dwyer. Going around him, using his

:45:18. > :45:21.pace, but this is a very draining game, and his speed and athleticism

:45:22. > :45:26.in the second half will be vital to Warrington. From a neutral point of

:45:27. > :45:35.view, to see how they both developed this season can only be pleasing. It

:45:36. > :45:40.is great for England, we have got four strong candidates pushing for

:45:41. > :45:46.the place. As coach, I would not want to pick which two will make the

:45:47. > :45:51.England setup, one is potentially going to be an RL. Houghton has been

:45:52. > :45:57.massively impressive for this impressive Hull team. Speaking to

:45:58. > :46:04.him earlier, he always plays at least seven out of ten, in his worst

:46:05. > :46:07.games. We can move onto a Warrington player now who is absolutely loved

:46:08. > :46:12.by his home fans, that is Ben Westwood, a stall what of this

:46:13. > :46:14.Warrington team, and our very own stall what, Ben Woods, met him last

:46:15. > :46:44.week. Super Bennie Westwood, do you enjoy

:46:45. > :46:51.that? It is not bad, is it? I will take it as it comes. This is your

:46:52. > :47:00.club, your first club. I have loved it here, I have been here 14 years

:47:01. > :47:04.now, and I am a proud Yorkshireman, I came to make a go of it over in

:47:05. > :47:09.Warrington, my kids have been brought up here, so it is a special

:47:10. > :47:16.place for me. In your early days, you were a centre, do you prefer

:47:17. > :47:21.being in the middle of things? I was always going to be a forward, I have

:47:22. > :47:25.worked my way in from the back row, now into the middle, and when all

:47:26. > :47:29.these wingers are moaning they are tired, remember that I used to play

:47:30. > :47:33.there, I know exactly what they are feeling like and they are not tired

:47:34. > :47:39.at all, they are just lazy! It is all part of the game, I like getting

:47:40. > :47:43.in the mix of everything. You are involved with the fans quite a lot.

:47:44. > :47:48.You took one young lads to his graduation party. I did, yes, I got

:47:49. > :47:55.asked to do that, and I have seen a couple of times, a special date made

:47:56. > :47:59.special for him. I am proud to be part of something like that. This is

:48:00. > :48:04.your fourth Challenge Cup final, so what are your special memories of

:48:05. > :48:08.the previous three? The first one was special, and it was weird,

:48:09. > :48:13.because Warrington had not been there for 34 years, and the town

:48:14. > :48:20.went at slickly crazy. It was an experience we had not experienced

:48:21. > :48:23.before, and the following year was special, my daughter was the mascot,

:48:24. > :48:27.so I managed to get on the podium when I was not supposed to, and I've

:48:28. > :48:33.got a photo of us lifting trophy together. That is especially, for

:48:34. > :48:39.that reason. This promises to be a real classic. Definitely, and with

:48:40. > :48:43.the way Hull have been playing, they have done us twice already this

:48:44. > :48:53.year, hopefully it will be one of the classics. We have got the best

:48:54. > :48:57.squad since I have been here, I am just in it by the skin of my teeth,

:48:58. > :49:04.so a chance to enjoy it, hopefully this will be the year for us. And a

:49:05. > :49:09.few minutes ago, Jon Wilkin was in the middle of the Warrington warm up

:49:10. > :49:13.to talk us through their game. Huge privilege to walk out and it is

:49:14. > :49:18.Wembley pitch, beautiful turf, the amazing atmosphere, all of the fans

:49:19. > :49:22.travelling down from the north of England to celebrate the Challenge

:49:23. > :49:28.Cup final. This Warrington team has been built on playing quickly, they

:49:29. > :49:33.play quickly through Ben Westwood, through King, Ashton Sims, through

:49:34. > :49:38.Chris Hill, number eight, and that speed that they create is for the

:49:39. > :49:42.likes of Matty Russell, Chris Sandow to take advantage of. Gidley will be

:49:43. > :49:47.taking on the front foot, loads of experience from NRL, watch out for

:49:48. > :49:52.him kicking into the corner, trying to turn the Hull team around. He is

:49:53. > :49:57.a leader for this Warrington team. Away from that, we have got the guys

:49:58. > :50:02.who take advantage of space, and we have got one of them here, Stefan

:50:03. > :50:08.Ratchford, we will try to grab a quick word. Huge day for you, are

:50:09. > :50:15.you excited? Massive day, no big day in the rugby league calendar, it is

:50:16. > :50:19.a great day for us. How amazing is your support, Warrington? No matter

:50:20. > :50:27.where we go, they are always there in numbers, today is no different.

:50:28. > :50:31.All the best. Cheers. And there are fascinating match-ups

:50:32. > :50:35.across the pitch here, and if we focus on Stefan Ratchford and his

:50:36. > :50:39.battle with Jamie Shaul at full-back, I know you are conscious,

:50:40. > :50:43.because we have had this conversation before, that you do not

:50:44. > :50:47.build people up too soon, but this battle is an interesting one. It is

:50:48. > :50:53.a great one, Jamie Shaul has been progressing nicely, you can see he

:50:54. > :50:58.is a great tackle breaker, clean breaks as well. Stefan Ratchford is

:50:59. > :51:02.a different type of football, more natural, instinctive. More of an

:51:03. > :51:06.athlete, Jamie Shaul. The one thing Jamie Shaul is going to do is get on

:51:07. > :51:09.the end of everything, like every good full-back. He has got

:51:10. > :51:13.blistering speed, they go through their hands a lot in the back row,

:51:14. > :51:23.and he will be in a situation where they have to stop him. He has got

:51:24. > :51:25.the knowledge of how to get to the breakdown as quick as he possibly

:51:26. > :51:28.can, he gets it on the front foot, picking up the pieces line-out break

:51:29. > :51:32.early in the year, and he has got decent footwork, we have seen him do

:51:33. > :51:37.this many times. He has been a key part of why Hull has played well,

:51:38. > :51:42.same as Ratchford. Jamie Shaul has not quite got that in his game yet,

:51:43. > :51:47.a great player is Ratchford. One of those plays that Tony Smith says has

:51:48. > :51:50.to be on the team sheet, can play pretty much anywhere. He does not

:51:51. > :51:55.like speed, he will run out at dummy have to get

:51:56. > :52:01.the team moving forward, really good pair of hands. A lot of people

:52:02. > :52:05.watched just the Challenge Cup final on the BBC, they come to this

:52:06. > :52:09.showpiece event, they may not have seen the build-up, so when Tony

:52:10. > :52:14.Smith talks about putting Ratchford on the team sheet, because he is

:52:15. > :52:20.such a gifted player, can that be a disadvantage to him sometimes? Only

:52:21. > :52:25.for him, but not for the team. For the team, it is a great asset,

:52:26. > :52:30.because in rugby league, to have a player who is that versatile, can

:52:31. > :52:37.cover a number of positions, nine, 13, six, seven, there is no position

:52:38. > :52:43.he cannot cover. One thing for Ratchford this year, he is

:52:44. > :52:47.comfortable at full-back, his coaches comfortable within there, he

:52:48. > :52:53.can change the game from there, he has got good vision, and he can make

:52:54. > :52:56.a play for the team. We can do like overemphasise where he is and is

:52:57. > :52:59.not, but he is in a comfortable position.

:53:00. > :53:06.When we were outside on Wembley Way and you were back in here, Jamie, it

:53:07. > :53:11.has been noted! Not a team player! We were discussing the power of the

:53:12. > :53:16.Hull forwards, you have been in many AIPAC, is there really that much

:53:17. > :53:23.difference between the Hull and Warrington players, the size and

:53:24. > :53:28.strength? -- many a pack. I don't think so, these two sides, they are

:53:29. > :53:33.one and two in the league. When Hull have got on top of teams, they have

:53:34. > :53:40.been devastating, they put 50 points on St Helens, who have been a good

:53:41. > :53:42.side. On the back of that, their kicking game has been great.

:53:43. > :53:49.Everyone talking about the Hull power game, it is like a red ripe to

:53:50. > :53:55.a Bull for him, and Chris Hill, I think he is the best prop in the

:53:56. > :53:59.country. Let's look at the Warrington line-up, Ashton Sims,

:54:00. > :54:03.State of Origin, Fiji international, Chris Hill, one of the best front

:54:04. > :54:08.row players in the world, then a bloke called Ryan Bailey coming from

:54:09. > :54:12.the bench, the most successful Challenge Cup player, six finals and

:54:13. > :54:16.his belt. He does not like aggression, what is Ryan Bailey

:54:17. > :54:24.coming up the bench going to be like? And Sneyd-Sando will be very

:54:25. > :54:30.interesting. Their kicking will be very interesting, it is a full-size

:54:31. > :54:35.pitch, kicking needs to be very good. We are hope we are in for one

:54:36. > :54:36.of the best Challenge Cup finals of many a year, someone is going to

:54:37. > :54:59.write their name into history. He is going to have a drop, and it

:55:00. > :55:07.is a goal! And he has made it! As good a try as you will see!

:55:08. > :55:19.What a fabulous try by Chris Hicks! It is one of the great Wembley

:55:20. > :55:30.dries! We are set for a moment as 80

:55:31. > :55:35.minutes ahead, and this is what they are all playing for, the Ladbrokes

:55:36. > :55:40.Challenge Cup, which is being brought on by three members of the

:55:41. > :55:44.Armed Forces, Warrant Officer nick or, from the Royal Engineers, the

:55:45. > :55:53.brother of Castleford Tigers coach Danny, Senior Aircraftman George

:55:54. > :56:02.Andrew, and Daniel Johnson from the Royal Navy. And as much as the

:56:03. > :56:07.trophy is part of the tradition, so is Abide With Me. For the first

:56:08. > :56:12.time, the Songs Of Praise rugby league Challenge Cup I has been put

:56:13. > :56:17.together by BBC Sport, the RFL, and as well, of course, Songs Of Praise.

:56:18. > :56:21.Aled Jones will be accompanying them, representing 32 different

:56:22. > :56:26.clubs. I was having a chat with them earlier, a mixture of excitement,

:56:27. > :56:27.tension and fear. Aled Jones will guide them through it. The Challenge

:56:28. > :58:42.Cup, Abide With Me. A very special moment for those 32

:58:43. > :58:46.fans and for Aled Jones as well. Thank you to the band of the Royal

:58:47. > :58:50.Engineers and the band of the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment for

:58:51. > :58:53.accompanying those fans, who don't want to leave the Wembley turf. You

:58:54. > :59:04.can understand that. They are going to have to, otherwise

:59:05. > :59:12.they are going to be in the middle of a stampede, because here come

:59:13. > :59:20.Hull FC and Warrington Wolves for the 114th Challenge Cup final. Your

:59:21. > :59:22.commentary team here at Wembley, John Kear, Jonathan Davies and Dave

:59:23. > :59:32.Woods. First they hear the noise and then

:59:33. > :59:37.they feel the heat. Their hearts pump hard in their chest as they

:59:38. > :59:46.come out to this absolutely sensational greeting at Wembley

:59:47. > :59:52.Stadium. That's what it's all about. Terrific Pomp and Circumstance

:59:53. > :59:58.stance for the 74th Wembley final. Hirst has its relevance today, not

:59:59. > :00:04.least for Hull. 8 Wembley finalses since 1959 but has never won here.

:00:05. > :00:09.Warrington can boast three successes in that national arena in just the

:00:10. > :00:18.last 8 years. How does the story go today? It is looking good isn't it,

:00:19. > :00:24.Wembley? The Black and Whites of Hull hoping to lift hearts of

:00:25. > :00:32.Humberside or at least part of the city by that river. The primrose and

:00:33. > :00:35.blue of Warrington. We pause now for the national anthem, which is sung

:00:36. > :01:04.by Aled Jones. They are going to have the guest of

:01:05. > :01:08.honour first. The Warrington vice-chairman, Stuart Middleton, who

:01:09. > :01:13.led his side out teed. Reece Evans there, the Welshman who plays on the

:01:14. > :01:18.wing today. He was a youngster playing in a schools final at

:01:19. > :01:22.Cardiff. That first alerted him to rugby league and rugby league to

:01:23. > :01:27.him, and here he is starring in a main event today. Ryan Atkins,

:01:28. > :01:33.Ashton Sims along the line as well. Stefan Ratchford and Chris Hill.

:01:34. > :01:40.Last but certainly not least, Tony Smith, who's had terrific success as

:01:41. > :01:50.a coach in Challenge Cup finals. Gareth Hour is the referee today.

:01:51. > :02:00.Garrett Hewer is the referee today. And then it comes to Hull. Their

:02:01. > :02:05.owner introducing to Lee Radford the coach. Along line they go. Some

:02:06. > :02:18.determination in those eyes at the moment. Some nerves I'm sure. Old

:02:19. > :02:22.faithful ringing out to the left where the black and white fans are,

:02:23. > :02:30.the Warrington fans trying to count they are with their own music as

:02:31. > :02:44.well. The early birds, the two mascots, the club was originally

:02:45. > :02:52.known as the Early Birds. That Hull legend played in 1985 when Wigan

:02:53. > :02:57.beat Hull 28 points. Maybe we've got an occasion that will match that. It

:02:58. > :03:04.is very warm, very close, very sticky conditions which are the

:03:05. > :03:06.player part. And now we are going to have the national anthem sung by

:03:07. > :03:23.Aled Jones from Songs of Praise. Two of the most fanatical sets of

:03:24. > :04:30.fans here today. To see their sides. CHEERING. So this is the way they

:04:31. > :06:09.are lining up. The Fijian international Ashton

:06:10. > :06:15.Sims. And Gareth Hewer, 12 years a referee. He is a part-timer. 34

:06:16. > :06:18.years of age. By day he's an engineering team leader at

:06:19. > :06:24.Sellafield, but today he's the man in the middle. Should we need the

:06:25. > :06:30.video ref, Ben is in the truck to make any of the big decisions

:06:31. > :06:34.required. They are two class acts. They meet on the biggest stage and

:06:35. > :06:40.there is very little to separate them ahead of what could be a

:06:41. > :06:44.ferocious contest. Hull get first touch of the ball and the shoulders

:06:45. > :06:50.that bend first and hit the ribs are those of Warrington. Let's hear the

:06:51. > :06:55.thoughts of Jonathan Davies and first the former Hull Challenge Cup

:06:56. > :06:59.winning coach John Kear. It is difficult to split these two. We've

:07:00. > :07:07.got the physicality and go forward of the Hull FC forwards, the speed

:07:08. > :07:12.of luck of Warrington Wolves. I think it will come dawn to one

:07:13. > :07:17.thing. Win the ruck and you will win the cup. And Jonathan is the

:07:18. > :07:22.Warrington influence in the commentary box. It is the power of

:07:23. > :07:28.the Hull pack. Especially the back three. I think the kicking is

:07:29. > :07:32.important. Tony Smith said they won the kicking game on previous

:07:33. > :07:38.encounters. It is going to be a lot. It is a very warm day, so whoever

:07:39. > :07:50.has something left in the tank, and where they play the game is going to

:07:51. > :07:57.be crucially important. It is a Hill pass by the former Hull man. Not far

:07:58. > :08:01.from the halfway line. That was a poor error by Warrington. That will

:08:02. > :08:09.give Hull a first attacking opportunities. I just saw there was

:08:10. > :08:13.a late challenge. Jack Hughes on Marc Sneyd. Sneyd is going to be the

:08:14. > :08:18.catalyst. Everything goes through him. His kicking game, but if

:08:19. > :08:24.there's a question mark on his game it's his defence. But also the big

:08:25. > :08:30.game temperament. They will put pressure on him. A very different

:08:31. > :08:38.approach to this Cup Final day, Hull. A resounding win against

:08:39. > :08:42.Catalan just over a week ago, when Marc Sneyd was in imperious form.

:08:43. > :08:48.Warrington had to do it against castle Ford, so they have had

:08:49. > :08:54.different buildups. But each would say theirs was the perfect platform.

:08:55. > :09:00.It is Watts who will drive this in. He and Taylor very much a bedrock of

:09:01. > :09:03.Hull's season. Houghton scampering away from half again. Quickly up

:09:04. > :09:15.goes Atkins to make that tackle. Up it goes off the boot of Sneyd. It

:09:16. > :09:21.hasn't got a lot of distance on it. It is allowed to bounce and

:09:22. > :09:24.Warrington get the ball back. A disappointing end to that set.

:09:25. > :09:31.They've built up a reasonable position, but a it was too easy for

:09:32. > :09:37.Warrington to defuse the situation. A poor kick to finish the first set

:09:38. > :09:42.in the red zone of Warrington. You would have to put a little more

:09:43. > :09:51.height on it, compete for it. Sandow with the kick from behind the

:09:52. > :09:59.40-metre mark. Shaw Shaw, they are after him. Shaul, they are after

:10:00. > :10:10.him. That was a good kick from Sandow. At the minute it is going

:10:11. > :10:15.Warrington's way. It is going to be such an important factor today, he's

:10:16. > :10:22.the catalyst for Warrington, Chris Sandow. That's great play by the

:10:23. > :10:26.Hull backs. They stepped up, took the pressure off their forwards.

:10:27. > :10:32.Fonua, Tuimavave was in there, Shaul did well. And now they have an

:10:33. > :10:36.easier kick. Sneyd looking for the touchline here. He gets the

:10:37. > :10:42.touchline and that roar you hear is the Hull fans who love the chant the

:10:43. > :10:47.name of Sneyd more or less when he puts his boot to the ball. Ball..

:10:48. > :10:52.Today he will do a lot of kicking. It will have to be good kicking. I'm

:10:53. > :10:59.with Jonathan there. A really good set by Hull FC. They are not only

:11:00. > :11:04.big forwards but a big team. Sneyd finished the set off with a good

:11:05. > :11:13.kick into the corner. They've left Warrington with a challenge. They'll

:11:14. > :11:17.look for the mistake. Turn the ball over in the Warrington 20-metre

:11:18. > :11:23.area. It is like a game or chess. For the first 10-15 minutes, try and

:11:24. > :11:31.force the error. Matthew Russell. Good marking. Russell takes off so

:11:32. > :11:38.often from that dummy half position. Hill. Three tackles gone so far in

:11:39. > :11:53.this particular set. Set. Ashton Sims. Sandow lobs it downfield. It

:11:54. > :11:58.is taken easily by Shaul. Has the confidence to put the pass into

:11:59. > :12:02.Michaels. Struggles up to the 35-metre market. A lot of energy put

:12:03. > :12:06.into that set by Hull FC defensively. The reward was feeling

:12:07. > :12:14.the ball 30 metres from their own line. Already they are in midfield.

:12:15. > :12:18.Minichiello. This guy's been a brilliant signing, Minichiello.

:12:19. > :12:26.Second year at this club, Mark Minichiello. The brother of Anthony,

:12:27. > :12:32.the former Australian full-back. Houghton to Ellis. Talk about good

:12:33. > :12:38.signings, what about this fella, what a year he's been having. Sixth

:12:39. > :12:44.tackle come up. Tuimavave's role will be crucial today. Sneyd's kick

:12:45. > :12:53.is sliced high. But what about that?! The chase is on. Russell is

:12:54. > :13:01.back there. The kick from Sneyd wasn't a bad effort. It was unusual,

:13:02. > :13:07.to say the least. It almost worked out for the player. Great work for

:13:08. > :13:14.Reece Evans. They've now played their own 20 metre zone.

:13:15. > :13:19.Improvisation by Sneyd but the kick was poor. The execution on the last

:13:20. > :13:31.tackle. Hill again. At the moment the defence is solid. Quick line

:13:32. > :13:38.speed. In by Ashton Sims. A sixth tackle going up, so Sandow is again

:13:39. > :13:42.the go-to man. He's not under too much pressure. I don't think the

:13:43. > :13:46.coach will be happy with the execution of the kick. There is no

:13:47. > :13:50.pressure on Shaul. Shaul. Have to put pressure on the full-back. This

:13:51. > :14:04.is improvisation by Sneyd. the pitch is looking really lush,

:14:05. > :14:17.isn't it? Conditions will play their part here today, it is a draining

:14:18. > :14:25.atmosphere. It is very muggy. A pass on the inside. That was a great

:14:26. > :14:33.tackle! How about that? Has he got his kicking game today? He has done

:14:34. > :14:40.two really good ones, putting it over the side, two in different

:14:41. > :14:45.ones, but that may be a taxi for Lee Radford, maintaining their energy

:14:46. > :14:50.levels. I think that is the case, he has put two Kickstarter two the

:14:51. > :14:54.bigger side are the Hull players, so you would expect them to use a bit

:14:55. > :15:06.more energy. If he takes over the touchline, they walked to the scrum.

:15:07. > :15:11.Damian Johnson is on the touchline. 23 degrees at there, not that one,

:15:12. > :15:20.but 60% humidity, we have seen the water carriers on already.

:15:21. > :15:33.A penalty here, making the job of clearing their lines much easier. A

:15:34. > :15:39.bit of a piggyback, interference at the ruck. He has failed to find

:15:40. > :15:45.touch. Oh! Big decision by the touch judge, saying that Michaels has put

:15:46. > :15:49.a foot on the line. Great effort for him to catch it, maybe he should

:15:50. > :15:54.have tapped it back, because there was players around him. Does his

:15:55. > :16:02.foot come down on the touchline? Yes, it does. Good call! Good call

:16:03. > :16:06.by the touch judge. That was almost a waste, that penalty, to piggyback

:16:07. > :16:17.them into good field position, but they have got head and feed. Again,

:16:18. > :16:19.Jonathan, I agree with you, getting it back into play would have been

:16:20. > :16:33.the best way. Warrington with a couple of tackles

:16:34. > :16:39.gone, but in a good position here. He has knocked on, he was a bit of a

:16:40. > :16:47.doubt, Westerman, because of an ankle injury last week, he has had a

:16:48. > :16:54.few sleepless nights, no doubt last night, but against his former team.

:16:55. > :16:57.He just took is I off it. It is disappointing, though, Jonathan,

:16:58. > :17:02.because the two errors that Warrington have made have both come

:17:03. > :17:07.from Westerman. That pass earlier, then that stone cold drop, you have

:17:08. > :17:10.to reel them in on days like this. If you are going to give the

:17:11. > :17:17.opposition the ball, your energy levels dropped straightaway. Hull's

:17:18. > :17:23.turn to take advantage of the field position, better than they were

:17:24. > :17:31.expecting. Rolling it forward again here. Here is Houghton at Tommy

:17:32. > :17:33.Haas. Told to go back and play the ball where he was tackled. -- at

:17:34. > :17:49.Tommy Hughes has got the job of unsettling

:17:50. > :17:54.Sneyd, another late tackle, making him aware that he will be in his

:17:55. > :18:04.face all day, he will not have the time to take the pass and give the

:18:05. > :18:11.kick. Hughes and the pressure there. It is very effective, great kick out

:18:12. > :18:12.of dummy half, first tackle of the Warrington set within their own 20

:18:13. > :18:28.metres. Evans and his brother played in the

:18:29. > :18:39.2005 Challenge Cup final in Cardiff, spotted by the Scouts, they became

:18:40. > :18:44.rugby league stars. A dash and a dart, that is the end of the set, or

:18:45. > :18:53.it will be with the next tackle, so what are they going to do? Ratchmond

:18:54. > :19:00.asking the question with a kick, Michaels clears the 30 metres mark.

:19:01. > :19:05.Great tackle! That was a big play from Michaels, it really was, under

:19:06. > :19:11.pressure taking the ball. And not only did he take it, paid it back

:19:12. > :19:18.with interest with a 30 metres run. Brilliant run by Michaels.

:19:19. > :19:26.Hull making up the metres here in this particular set, finishing in a

:19:27. > :19:30.strong position. Houghton runs away, they panic around him quickly, the

:19:31. > :19:36.Warrington defenders, to put him down. Final play in the set, here it

:19:37. > :19:40.goes to Sneyd, Evans is underneath it. He is protected by his

:19:41. > :19:45.team-mates. I think it was King in the end to target. If you are not

:19:46. > :19:52.going to control the speed of the tackle, I would expect the hookers

:19:53. > :20:06.to make the most of it. Big defence going at the moment,

:20:07. > :20:11.crunching tackles. Inside the 40 here, Sandow, this could be a huge

:20:12. > :20:16.kick, and it has given Warrington the head and feed at the scrum, the

:20:17. > :20:20.40/20. It is a massive, massive weapon in any side's armoury if you

:20:21. > :20:24.can produce a cake like that, because taking from behind the 40

:20:25. > :20:29.and beyond the 20 gives warranting the head and feed and the attacking

:20:30. > :20:35.position. It is in conditions like this as well, a repeat set for

:20:36. > :20:39.Warrington, so clever. Before Sandow received the ball, he looked exactly

:20:40. > :20:44.where the receivers was, he changed the angle of his kick and bounced it

:20:45. > :20:49.over the sideline, ten metres away from the Hull line. Absolute quality

:20:50. > :20:53.skill from the scrum-half. It is great, because he checked his run,

:20:54. > :20:58.he was aware of where he was, he made sure that he stayed in the 40

:20:59. > :21:05.metres area. As you said, the earlier tackle, plenty of space, the

:21:06. > :21:08.bounce favoured Warrington. So the first real proper attack belongs to

:21:09. > :21:15.Warrington, what can they make of this position? Evans repelled in the

:21:16. > :21:21.first instance, but five more waves of that kind of effort to come here.

:21:22. > :21:29.That was the right winger on the left, shaped completely differently

:21:30. > :21:43.for the scrum. Here is Clark out of dummy half, giddily towards Hughes.

:21:44. > :21:48.Ashton Sims has gone in at dummy half, A-level grubber kick is

:21:49. > :21:56.fielded easily enough, and Hull it back again, sure, the full-back,

:21:57. > :22:06.doing his job well. That was a poor pass from Ashton Sims at dummy half.

:22:07. > :22:13.Hull are coming back with gusto. Robbie Hunter-Paul, what you think?

:22:14. > :22:19.Absolutely massive defensive set by Hull FC, we are right at the point

:22:20. > :22:23.of the game where they are hitting the first wall physically, energy

:22:24. > :22:30.levels are getting low, they have to dig deep. Massive defensive set.

:22:31. > :22:36.Another kick from dummy half, Ratchford back to collect it. He has

:22:37. > :22:44.got Russell for company. Tackle four, he wanted to get into the

:22:45. > :22:52.Warrington are. That was Matty Russell from dummy half almost

:22:53. > :22:58.getting his nose through. Sims's effort, Gidley is involved, then

:22:59. > :23:01.Hughes as well. I think Warrington are winning the tackle here, because

:23:02. > :23:15.they are not getting that role and that gives the armchair ride. --

:23:16. > :23:21.roll on. Michael has to deal with this in his own goal area, and

:23:22. > :23:24.Sandow, having put the kick in, makes the definitive tackle, and

:23:25. > :23:35.Hull will have to drop out from underneath their own sticks.

:23:36. > :23:42.Sandow's kicking has been very precise, just keeping the back three

:23:43. > :23:46.of Hull on their toes. He is making his kicks into excellent kicks by

:23:47. > :23:55.his chase, immediately reacting and leading the chase team. Away by

:23:56. > :24:05.Sneyd, decent first touch. Forward comes Chris Hill. I can tell you

:24:06. > :24:09.what, after 16 minutes, you have got a real final here, this is a final,

:24:10. > :24:11.points in this game are going to be hard to come by, despite the weather

:24:12. > :24:25.conditions. There is the dummy, but taken by

:24:26. > :24:28.Minichiello, only ten metres away. Westerman bundling forward,

:24:29. > :24:36.Westerman goes for the line, very nearly determination got in there,

:24:37. > :24:42.but not quite. Now Clark, Gidley, he cannot get the pass away. Just a

:24:43. > :24:50.little bit out of his depth there. Final play in this set, Gidley

:24:51. > :24:56.rolling it forward, taken superbly. They were looking for the repeat set

:24:57. > :25:10.once again, Warrington, but a great cake by Manu. -- great cake. --

:25:11. > :25:17.great take. There is some breathing going on out there, trying to get

:25:18. > :25:24.oxygen in, Green on from the interchange bench. There is not much

:25:25. > :25:31.in it in terms of territory. The kick is going to hold up. Good kick.

:25:32. > :25:36.And a good chase. Good kicking from both sides today, a real feature.

:25:37. > :25:41.The kicking game is one thing, but also the lack of errors, you have to

:25:42. > :25:48.complete your set in conditions like this, because it is draining. As the

:25:49. > :25:51.boys said before the match, John and Brian, they want to play the game

:25:52. > :25:56.quick, they want to keep the tempo, Warrington. Back it comes towards

:25:57. > :26:17.Currie. Just inside the Hull half. Gidley again, coming towards the end

:26:18. > :26:22.of the set, a kick towards the touchline, and they will make Hull

:26:23. > :26:26.start from as deep as possible inside their own half. 20 minutes

:26:27. > :26:30.gone, there is nothing in this, absolutely not thing. We thought

:26:31. > :26:34.this was going to be very tight, just testing each other out, maybe

:26:35. > :26:38.Warrington have had better field position, but as we thought, there

:26:39. > :26:42.is absolutely nothing in this game. If you are going to win the

:26:43. > :26:48.Challenge Cup, you have to push yourself to places you have never

:26:49. > :26:51.been before, and because there has been no score, this is a water

:26:52. > :26:55.break. Hydration will be a problem for the players, and because it is a

:26:56. > :26:58.natural break with the ball going over the sideline, the water

:26:59. > :27:03.carriers are on the field, getting some water into the players. Just

:27:04. > :27:09.why we have this little break, it is worth mentioning that we are very

:27:10. > :27:14.much in mourning this week as well, the sad passing away of Steve

:27:15. > :27:21.Gartland, the 45-year-old ex player of Rochdale, he was a coach as well.

:27:22. > :27:26.He is being missed by many inside Wembley today. He is in a lot of

:27:27. > :27:43.people's thoughts in rugby league. Danny Houghton out of dummy half,

:27:44. > :27:46.here comes Green. This is a tough, tough game, physically and

:27:47. > :27:51.psychologically, because there has only been one penalty as well. So

:27:52. > :27:59.the amount of time they have been carrying the ball, tackling is

:28:00. > :28:05.phenomenal. I have to say, Hughes is putting some big hits in. Taylor,

:28:06. > :28:14.getting up slowly. That is a poor kick. That is a bounce, which might

:28:15. > :28:18.make it a little better. Warrington are renowned as a good kick pressure

:28:19. > :28:25.team, and they are putting pressure on the Hull kickers, three in

:28:26. > :28:29.different kicks because of that. Three different kickers, Sneyd

:28:30. > :28:36.usually finishes the set. But the pressure is on. Westwood is on the

:28:37. > :28:41.field, a character to add to the mix, as Warrington begin to move

:28:42. > :28:46.relentlessly forward again. Bailey is out there as well, another

:28:47. > :28:55.character to add to the mix. Here is Currie, keeps it alive, good

:28:56. > :29:00.off-load, Sandow. Minichiello comes out and takes it back.

:29:01. > :29:05.He was on the outside of Minichiello. Michaels trying to

:29:06. > :29:11.force himself through that crowd of defenders to get there. Couldn't

:29:12. > :29:16.quite. Let's look at the decision. Yes, it was a hold. That's the one

:29:17. > :29:22.difference at the moment, the kick pressure. When they've been in the

:29:23. > :29:27.opposition, 20-metre area, the high kicks are better. It's very

:29:28. > :29:32.difficult for Hull to take a clean ball. That could have bounced

:29:33. > :29:35.anywhere. If it put the ball in that area it becomes a contest. Although

:29:36. > :29:39.Warrington weren't successful that, that's a ploy. It was well worth

:29:40. > :29:54.continuing with. Heavy hardly mentioned Gareth Hewar,

:29:55. > :29:59.the referee, that's a good sign. Always a good sign. A good

:30:00. > :30:04.appointment by the rugby Football League. A part-time referee, and an

:30:05. > :30:16.inspiration to others that you can come from the amateur ranks. He was

:30:17. > :30:24.referee at Wakefield. And on cue he gives a penalty to Hull FC. I don't

:30:25. > :30:30.think he had much option. The tackle is completed and there is another

:30:31. > :30:35.effort. As Minichiello tries to regain his feet. I think that matter

:30:36. > :30:40.was taken out of the referee's hand. And that was a good kick. Good

:30:41. > :30:47.yardage. And there he is. Big Frank is on. Frank the Tank. Maybe not had

:30:48. > :30:52.quite the impact that Hull were expecting throughout the season.

:30:53. > :31:08.This was the kind of stage on which he can show his absolute pedigree.

:31:09. > :31:17.Fonua. Michaels. A big crashing tackle from Benny Westwood. Hull

:31:18. > :31:21.keep possession. Marvellous inside pressure on Sneyd. They are making

:31:22. > :31:25.sure he isn't having a comfortable afternoon. And he is having a bit of

:31:26. > :31:34.luck. As soon as he passed that ball, he had luck. Scott Taylor. The

:31:35. > :31:35.kick from Sneyd is a troubler for Ratchford, but he smothered

:31:36. > :32:01.possession back. Inside their own 0. Evans galloping towards the 40-metre

:32:02. > :32:07.mark. Gareth Ellis, the Hull skipper, has an ice pack on his

:32:08. > :32:15.neck. He is sheltering from the sun. A bit of concern about that injury

:32:16. > :32:30.to his neck. So the kick is taken by Shaul.

:32:31. > :32:39.A clumsy effort from Talanoa. That was a poor pass. A tired pass, and

:32:40. > :32:49.Talanoa... That was a difficult pass to take. I think it was not

:32:50. > :32:55.Talanoa's fault. Straight away you've just put the receiver under

:32:56. > :33:00.pressure. They are 30 metres from the Hull FC line. He is coming in to

:33:01. > :33:09.relieve the pressure off the forwards, but that was a poor pass.

:33:10. > :33:21.16 minutes of this half remaining. A very good position. Position. Atkins

:33:22. > :33:31.bobbing the ball back inside for Toby King. Ratchford to Sandow.

:33:32. > :33:37.Westwood urging again towards the 20-metre mark. They can work either

:33:38. > :33:41.side. Dwyer to that right-hand flank. Gives them a buzz of

:33:42. > :33:46.electricity when he comes on from the bench in the dummy half roll. It

:33:47. > :33:52.is offered and given to Sandow. Ratchford comes into the line. They

:33:53. > :33:55.are trying to create the numbers. It is Atkins, and he just couldn't

:33:56. > :34:00.quite take it in there, Matthew Russell. If he had, it would've been

:34:01. > :34:04.a try, but he didn't, so it is not. Hull FC give themselves high fives

:34:05. > :34:10.all around for a big defensive effort. They deserved that. They

:34:11. > :34:16.helped their mates there. A nice shift from right to left there.

:34:17. > :34:19.Atkins was in that space by Ratchford but the urgency of the

:34:20. > :34:23.right side of the Hull FC defence to cover for the friend, to cover for

:34:24. > :34:29.their team-mate, that's apparent for all to see. I thought Steve Michaels

:34:30. > :34:35.did exceptionally well there. They just created that little overlap. He

:34:36. > :34:40.had to make a corner and he made Atkins make a decision whether to

:34:41. > :34:43.offload or take the tackle. Brilliant play by Warrington but

:34:44. > :34:51.Steve Michaels on the right-wing for Hull. It is hot and steamy and

:34:52. > :34:57.intense. And it remains scoreless. Hull FC begin the long slow path

:34:58. > :35:02.back towards the Warrington half. No points yet, but this is a great

:35:03. > :35:11.game. High quality from both sides. Certainly in defence. Manu patched

:35:12. > :35:20.there, hoping to intercept, but Hull keep it. Finding their way back to

:35:21. > :35:27.the halfway line. Sneyd, ball hits his fingertips and he drops it to

:35:28. > :35:33.his boot, leathers it downfield. Great pressure. Warrington really

:35:34. > :35:39.are giving him a torrid time. They've worked very hard, realising

:35:40. > :35:43.he is such a large part of this Hull FC team. Last year he was taken off

:35:44. > :35:47.early as well, so there's a question mark. What they've got to do now is

:35:48. > :35:53.take the pressure off him a little bit. Takes the kicks off him,

:35:54. > :35:57.protect him a little bit. But he to step back a little further. Take the

:35:58. > :36:03.pressure off himself. Give him extra yard and make sure the kick is good.

:36:04. > :36:08.Doesn't have to stand as flak. Now they are chasing him. Dwyer at dummy

:36:09. > :36:13.half is forced to knock the ball to the ground. Great play by Chris

:36:14. > :36:19.Green. Dwyer holding the ball in two hands. Green played at his arm and

:36:20. > :36:23.forced the error. Clever play from the big interchange prop forward.

:36:24. > :36:26.Dwyer picks the ball, two hands, plays at the harm. Nothing wrong

:36:27. > :36:41.with that, just smart play. Forced the error. Hull FC head and feet.

:36:42. > :37:15.This is Chris Green's 85th appearance today.

:37:16. > :37:25.Great play from Jack Hughes in that scrum play. Minichiello from dummy

:37:26. > :37:29.half and will test them down that blindside and swung his hips. But

:37:30. > :37:34.look where they are, 10 metres inside the Warrington half. Back

:37:35. > :37:43.towards the middle. And here comes Pritchard. He was put down. Still,

:37:44. > :37:52.tackles are in the bag. They are reaching and testing. The pass to

:37:53. > :37:57.Shaul, back towards the middle. Keys keeps it alive. So it is going be

:37:58. > :38:00.Sneyd again with a little cross-field kick but Ratchford read

:38:01. > :38:07.that really well and caught it easily. Warrington had to start from

:38:08. > :38:13.there again. A nice ploy might be towards the latter end of this half

:38:14. > :38:17.to put inside passes in to test the big fellas with repeat efforts. So

:38:18. > :38:22.if they've made one tackle inside, make them make another and you might

:38:23. > :38:31.well get a quick ruck. Also, you are going to get tired. Players are

:38:32. > :38:38.going to get lazy. When they crop off the defensive line, drop off the

:38:39. > :38:42.offensive line. This is an exhausting effort from both sides.

:38:43. > :38:48.Sandow will welly it downfield. That's a good kick. Shaul watches it

:38:49. > :38:53.swirl and curl but catches it safely. That was a good take. It was

:38:54. > :39:03.spiralling all over the place. It looked an easy take but that was a

:39:04. > :39:09.difficult kick. It was spiralling. Whichever teams win this will earn

:39:10. > :39:15.their medals. We've yet to see a score, with half an hour played.

:39:16. > :39:22.Pritchard down the middle again. They will run the tank empty today,

:39:23. > :39:31.Frank the Tank. And that was a wonderful break down the middle. A

:39:32. > :39:35.bit of momentum is with Hull. Ratchford gets there, but again it's

:39:36. > :39:40.a draining position from which they start. Should have gone through the

:39:41. > :39:45.half there. It is a penalty. Should have gone through the hands. The

:39:46. > :39:48.last tackle, they were unorganised on the left-hand side, Warrington.

:39:49. > :39:53.Interesting the break was made in the middle and it was by a three

:39:54. > :39:58.quarter going at the big men. That's what's going happen. As they tire,

:39:59. > :40:10.the quick feet will expose the bigger forwards.

:40:11. > :40:16.And it is a game with a replay if it is all square at the end of the 80

:40:17. > :40:22.minutes. It's the only professional game in the world of rugby league I

:40:23. > :40:26.think which can provoke a replay. In Australia every other match, a

:40:27. > :40:31.golden point, whether it is a knockout contest or not. But we are

:40:32. > :40:40.a long way from that. He dropped it. A good tackle. Talanoa making the

:40:41. > :40:45.tackle. I think he knocked on and is making the tackle. That was a good

:40:46. > :40:50.read. There was an offload. He goes in, there's a little offload. One

:40:51. > :40:58.pass. He had to make the tackle. He was unlucky. The referee got that

:40:59. > :41:02.right. Great play. He is going to make the tackle and it has come off

:41:03. > :41:07.Talanoa. But that was a good read. They had to make it, because there

:41:08. > :41:19.was a threat down that Warrington right-hand side. This is a good

:41:20. > :41:29.game, this. You feel it's going to erupt. A tense, hard battle with

:41:30. > :41:38.high quality. Kicking game, defensive games. The second half,

:41:39. > :41:45.the second act. Ratchford in the middle. Sandow offering it away to

:41:46. > :41:52.Ryan Bailey. At the moment their defence of both sides is brilliant.

:41:53. > :41:57.Searching towards the left-hand side but Clark can see nothing, so goes

:41:58. > :42:03.for the middle. His opposite number is there to take the tackle.

:42:04. > :42:08.Interesting that he's got Dwyer and Clark... It's given away, and it is

:42:09. > :42:12.picked up by Talanoa! They have had their positions, Warrington, two or

:42:13. > :42:16.three times when Hull's defence has come up and now they've got a

:42:17. > :42:24.penalty and a chance to clear it away. Warrington just need to remain

:42:25. > :42:29.composed. It is a heck of a defensive effort from Hull FC. It is

:42:30. > :42:35.typified on the left-hand side by that man, Talanoa. His reading is

:42:36. > :42:42.outstanding. Minichiello did well as well. Dwyer, I wasn't sure if he

:42:43. > :42:46.felt he was offside. He wasn't offside and he timed his run to

:42:47. > :42:51.perfection. But only one counts and that's the referee's. A big set here

:42:52. > :42:55.now. Hull started inside the Warrington half, but how deep can

:42:56. > :43:01.they go? Back it goes to Danny Houghton. Minichiello comes on

:43:02. > :43:05.apace. But Houghton was waiting and inside it goes for Watts. He'll

:43:06. > :43:10.charge down the middle and he offloads. Loads. They are taking

:43:11. > :43:16.fuel out of the Warrington tank here in this said. Bowden is put down.

:43:17. > :43:21.Three tackles in one. Three times, big frefrts Warrington but only one

:43:22. > :43:31.counted because of the off-low.ds Pritchard... But Chris Sandow will

:43:32. > :43:35.go skidding away. He has dragged his man down and pulled him down. What a

:43:36. > :43:39.recovery from Shaul, but Warrington are still up there. It is with

:43:40. > :43:47.Russell and Russell is over the line! A long, dramatic moment. This

:43:48. > :43:54.Wembley final bursts wide open and it is Warrington who've the opening

:43:55. > :43:59.score. It is a mistake but brilliant play. You have to watch it. He reads

:44:00. > :44:03.the intercept exceptionally well. I think it is a forward. He reads it

:44:04. > :44:08.well, but what a chase for Jamie Shaul. He didn't give up. He ran

:44:09. > :44:13.Sandow down and Russell kept his composure. Just watch. He reads the

:44:14. > :44:18.play. He sees Pritchard. It is an early pass and he has read it. Taps

:44:19. > :44:23.it up and he's away. But what a chase, Jon. We are all saying this

:44:24. > :44:27.is a try for Sandow, but look at Shaul in the background. Works so

:44:28. > :44:32.hard. Russell is trying to make him alter the line of his run, but he

:44:33. > :44:38.must have made 10 metres up there on Sandow. Really good work. No panic,

:44:39. > :44:45.lots of composure and over it goes by the post.

:44:46. > :44:55.Very good try indeed, well done, Mr Russell, you kept your head and you

:44:56. > :45:00.got your reward, great try. The primrose and blue. That will be

:45:01. > :45:04.demoralising for them, because they defended exceptionally well,

:45:05. > :45:07.absorbed all the pressure from the Warrington players, and when they

:45:08. > :45:13.were on the attack, the interception. The psychological

:45:14. > :45:23.blow, can they come back strong? Gidley puts it over, Warrington lead

:45:24. > :45:27.by 6-0 as half-time creeps closer. I was with Jonathan Davies, I thought

:45:28. > :45:31.the momentum had switched towards Hull, but that fantastic

:45:32. > :45:36.interception from Sandow, that quality finish from Matty Russell

:45:37. > :45:47.has turned the game on its head. But this is a test of the Hull FC

:45:48. > :45:54.character, of Hull FC's belief. Oh! The as backwards, it is OK. Any kids

:45:55. > :45:58.that watches the game or watches rugby league, Sandow turns his back

:45:59. > :46:03.and shoulder towards his touchline, if he drops it, it is not a

:46:04. > :46:10.knock-on. Once again, the touch judge gave the correct call there.

:46:11. > :46:16.Hughes on the right-hand side for Warrington, Ratchford is the man at

:46:17. > :46:23.dummy half, a bit of a gap there. It closed up quickly. Well, Warrington

:46:24. > :46:27.have 17 dummy half runs to three. He finds support in King, and he has

:46:28. > :46:38.got support, a real heavy collision in the middle. Dwyer is back up on

:46:39. > :46:42.his feet, Gidley pushes it backwards, Hughes picks it up,

:46:43. > :46:48.Warrington are desperate for another quickfire try, but I think that was

:46:49. > :46:54.the sixth tackle, Hull have it back again. Bodies everywhere! Holding up

:46:55. > :46:59.here. It is absolutely draining, that is full-blooded commitment,

:47:00. > :47:04.isn't it? Whatever it takes, I am going to do whatever it takes to

:47:05. > :47:09.prevent a try, nothing illegal, just a matter of urgency, desperation,

:47:10. > :47:13.determination to prevent the try. I think he got in the way there, he

:47:14. > :47:19.went in between the ball-carrier, he had to make the tackle, that is

:47:20. > :47:25.never a penalty. Michaels again, this has been some game! I think he

:47:26. > :47:33.got it away, do you think? He could not get to the ball-carrier. Great

:47:34. > :47:38.tackle. It is commitment. Three and a half minutes of the half

:47:39. > :47:43.remaining. Some debris on the field, Hull will have possession back, so

:47:44. > :47:48.close to their own line, so close to conceding for a second time in the

:47:49. > :47:56.blink of an eye. How enjoyable is this game! Yeah. Hull needs to

:47:57. > :48:06.pummel their way back as far as they can inside Warrington territory.

:48:07. > :48:16.Taken in by Watts, Houghton comes to the right-hand side.

:48:17. > :48:31.How sharp has he been from that position today? He has been

:48:32. > :48:37.outstanding for 37 minutes in this heat. Sneyd will go for the kick

:48:38. > :48:40.behind the 40, but never a 20 attempt, just get it as far

:48:41. > :48:49.downfield as you can. Ratchford, Evans runs in hard.

:48:50. > :49:06.Here is the try scorer, Matty Russell, a Wembley try scorer. He is

:49:07. > :49:11.hurt, he is hurt. Every time there is a stoppage in play, the guys are

:49:12. > :49:15.covering some metres from the sidelines, getting onto the field,

:49:16. > :49:19.the water carriers. There is the incident there, he just caught the

:49:20. > :49:26.need to the head, nothing illegal about that. Just a collision, an

:49:27. > :49:34.unfortunate accident Ulster very much part of the Scottish team.

:49:35. > :49:40.Matty Russell will be in the Scotland squad, I am sure, at the

:49:41. > :49:44.end of the season when they take on England, Australia and New Zealand.

:49:45. > :49:45.Matches you can see on the BBC, the four nations tournament in late

:49:46. > :49:58.October and November. They are still smiling, they are

:49:59. > :50:04.still enjoying themselves, only six points behind, so why not? The sun

:50:05. > :50:10.is out. The story is not over yet, there is plenty more to come, it has

:50:11. > :50:16.been high-quality. Hill carrying it forward with determination, as he

:50:17. > :50:17.always does. They said in the studio, Hill looks dangerous with

:50:18. > :50:36.ball in hand. This is Currie. Gidley with a kick to touch, how did

:50:37. > :50:45.goes. Such an inspirational part of the Warrington side, especially the

:50:46. > :50:54.pack, Gareth Ellis. The Hull side. Did I say Warrington? The Hull side,

:50:55. > :50:59.sorry. He will be back out there. Interesting that he has gone for the

:51:00. > :51:04.sideline, Gidley, to inject some energy once again, to just contain

:51:05. > :51:08.Hull FC and go forward. But it Warrington to get the ball,

:51:09. > :51:15.Jonathan, do you think they will be tempted to drop a goal? With a

:51:16. > :51:20.defence as tight as this, yes. One chance again, the set has got to be

:51:21. > :51:29.good. Running away from the 20 metres mark. The 2016 Challenge Cup

:51:30. > :51:37.final boiling up nicely here. If they do this well, they may not have

:51:38. > :51:44.a chance to have a set. Liam Watts, oh, and he has had the ball wrestled

:51:45. > :51:47.from them, it went backwards anyway. Now you have got three tackles down

:51:48. > :51:58.the middle, quick play up the middle. Tried to get the one point.

:51:59. > :52:05.Only 30 seconds left in the half. There is urgency now, Sandow is in

:52:06. > :52:11.control. Sandow has knocked a few important ones over this year. That

:52:12. > :52:16.is a great carry from Hill. Sandow is going to go for the past, the

:52:17. > :52:23.ball has gone to ground, Hull very nearly got it back. The referee has

:52:24. > :52:27.given scrum to Hull, head and feed, but the hooter sounds. It has been a

:52:28. > :52:30.draining but thoroughly entertaining, low scoring but edge

:52:31. > :52:35.of the seat first half, Matty Russell scored in the 34th minute,

:52:36. > :52:41.the only scores so far. Gidley's goal giving them a 6-0 lead,

:52:42. > :52:47.Warrington, at half-time, but plenty, plenty more to come. We are

:52:48. > :52:52.going to go down to the touchline in just a moment to hear from a couple

:52:53. > :52:58.of the competence in that first off, let's hear from them now.

:52:59. > :53:03.Such a tough part, what is it like at there? We knew it was going to be

:53:04. > :53:07.tough, there have been a few errors, we expected both teams to defend

:53:08. > :53:11.well on the line, both teams have done that, so a real battlefield

:53:12. > :53:17.possession and an arm wrestled. What will be key for you to get over the

:53:18. > :53:23.line? Keep completing sets, moving better. Cheers. Gareth Ellis is with

:53:24. > :53:28.me, as tight as many predicted, what do you do to get back into this? We

:53:29. > :53:33.need to be more composed, especially with ball in hand, make it count, we

:53:34. > :53:38.have been on the back of too many errors and done a lot of defending.

:53:39. > :53:49.Conditions are sapping. Ride-height, but that is something for both teams

:53:50. > :53:52.to deal with. -- pretty hard. Let's show you the stats, Warrington

:53:53. > :53:58.edging possession, more territory as well.

:53:59. > :54:07.Warrington have made an awful lot more metres, 250 more, even just a

:54:08. > :54:14.couple of penalties conceded each. Warrington have made more metres in

:54:15. > :54:17.the first three tackles, 412-296. What is your overall view, Jamie

:54:18. > :54:23.Peacock, as we go inside the Warrington dressing room? I think

:54:24. > :54:29.the scoreline is a verified Warrington just edging it. They're

:54:30. > :54:34.kicking has been great, Sandow better than Sneyd. We spoke about

:54:35. > :54:38.dummy half running at the beginning of the game, and that is what they

:54:39. > :54:43.have been doing. Have you felt the intensity of the first part of here?

:54:44. > :54:48.Without a doubt, some brutal contact early on in the game, as you would

:54:49. > :54:53.expect in a big game like this, but JP has nailed it - Warrington had a

:54:54. > :54:56.big game plan to run out of dummy half, and the tail of the halve has

:54:57. > :55:03.been Hull clinging onto that, really fighting to stay in the game. On the

:55:04. > :55:07.flip side, Hull has struggled to break Warrington down, a couple of

:55:08. > :55:10.reasons - both sides attack quite similar, so when they do structured

:55:11. > :55:15.plays which they practised throughout the week, they are quite

:55:16. > :55:19.capable of dealing with those plays, so the key is the unstructured

:55:20. > :55:25.plays, the Sandow intercepts, Clark out of dummy half, Matty Russell out

:55:26. > :55:29.of dummy half. The unstructured players are what will win this game,

:55:30. > :55:34.and Warrington are doing that better than Hull. We talked about how

:55:35. > :55:38.strong both defences are before the game, for those people who are with

:55:39. > :55:43.us for one game a year, and hopefully they will come back for

:55:44. > :55:46.more! How do you sell this as a game of rugby league, despite the fact

:55:47. > :55:51.that it has not been free-flowing? The prowess and desire shown by both

:55:52. > :55:55.teams is exemplary, you should watch this as a bladder to real tussle in

:55:56. > :56:02.the Colosseum. Michaels, for example, Jamie Shaul, the amount of

:56:03. > :56:06.passion to get back, and it did not in the end affect the dry, they got

:56:07. > :56:13.it on the next play, but it shows the huge commitment of both teams.

:56:14. > :56:20.The only difference between the two is an intercepted play, and we have

:56:21. > :56:24.talked about how good they are attacking wise, but they are pretty

:56:25. > :56:31.good defensively, and they are building the living daylights out

:56:32. > :56:35.of... Oh! The living daylights out of each other! That would have kept

:56:36. > :56:40.people watching whatever, if you had let a cheeky one out there! Let's

:56:41. > :56:44.ignore him, I will talk to you two! There is no room for sympathy and

:56:45. > :56:49.rugby league, but a huge amount of Sciver the four Jamie Shaul that his

:56:50. > :56:59.efforts were in vain, but you have to praise Chris Sandow as well. --

:57:00. > :57:03.sympathy for. It is what they have been doing all game, instinctively

:57:04. > :57:07.getting on the end of the intercept, what commitment from Jamie Shaul,

:57:08. > :57:14.great chase back. If he had not tried to escort sure, Russell might

:57:15. > :57:21.have scored on the first play. -- escort Shaul. Sandow is an

:57:22. > :57:27.instinctive rugby player, touch football player, he wants to get the

:57:28. > :57:32.ball in hand, looking for opportunities like that. And that is

:57:33. > :57:36.off the back of the patience of the Warrington team, Jamie is right,

:57:37. > :57:41.they are kicking better, but what an effort from Shaul. Does not stop the

:57:42. > :57:45.try in the end, but coming off the back of some frustration. Frank

:57:46. > :57:53.Pritchard makes the play, Sandow sniffed it out. Warrington have

:57:54. > :57:57.disrupted Hull's play, a lot of their tactics is about disrupting

:57:58. > :58:02.Sneyd. Every time he has touched the ball, he has been hit by a

:58:03. > :58:06.Warrington player. They have come to frustrate the Hull team. They are

:58:07. > :58:17.very similar sites, so the key to the game is the bits between the

:58:18. > :58:24.place. He is a smart coach, he has done his defensive tactics, Sandow

:58:25. > :58:28.has come up, they are effectively taking him out of the game. You

:58:29. > :58:32.mentioned that this is what Sandow does week in, week out, and there

:58:33. > :58:37.were earlier examples in this Challenge Cup final. This is part of

:58:38. > :58:42.the defence of Tony Smith, get up behind the ball and close him down.

:58:43. > :58:46.They consistently did this throughout the game, you can see

:58:47. > :58:51.them edging up, let's get past the ball. Sandow is a smart player,

:58:52. > :58:57.right? He is not a big bloke, he does not want to make a huge amount

:58:58. > :59:02.of tackles, but defending like that almost makes the other side go back

:59:03. > :59:05.inside, and what it does is give you an opportunity, it should be player

:59:06. > :59:10.but the ball in front of you, Sandow is in the position to intercept the

:59:11. > :59:13.ball, that is smart play. When we play against him, do not put

:59:14. > :59:16.anything long around him, Sandow will pick it up.

:59:17. > :59:22.Given that it all happens in a split second, how much would Frank

:59:23. > :59:28.Pritchard have been aware that it was Sandow who was in that position?

:59:29. > :59:34.The game goes so quickly, when you are in that situation, how do you

:59:35. > :59:39.know? If Pritchard plays earlier, Sandow's in the wrong position. The

:59:40. > :59:43.play works for Hull, so Sandow has to get that right, as he's being

:59:44. > :59:47.aggressive and creating numbers for the Hull team. If he gets it wrong,

:59:48. > :59:52.Hull could score there. You are talking a split second. Hull need to

:59:53. > :59:56.change their tactics in the second half. They have to stop threading

:59:57. > :00:04.that ball over the top and come through the middle. I agree, stay in

:00:05. > :00:09.the middle, stay patient. Here we see the defence exemplified there. I

:00:10. > :00:15.think we need a plus two kicker. What I mean by that is Sneyd Sneyd

:00:16. > :00:21.Sneyd is their first option for a kicker. When Smith's tactics close

:00:22. > :00:27.them down, they've got no get out clause. Stick to a second option to

:00:28. > :00:31.kick deeper. When you are playing against an aggressive defence there

:00:32. > :00:35.are two ways to deal with it. One is stop them coming up aggressively.

:00:36. > :00:41.The second is to play early. Play with your centres and wingers.

:00:42. > :00:46.That's a great tactic and I will be surprised if Hull don't do that in

:00:47. > :00:52.the second half. And if your kicking game isn't firing on all cylinders,

:00:53. > :00:56.that adds extra pressure does it? You've all said maybe the kicking

:00:57. > :01:02.game hasn't been kick for Hull. Part of that is down to Sneyd and part of

:01:03. > :01:08.is it the pressure point for Warrington. He was there all the way

:01:09. > :01:15.through it. He gets lucky with this kick but throughout the game he's

:01:16. > :01:20.been poor with it. That's down to his own skill, but Sandow has been

:01:21. > :01:25.outstanding with his kicking. Although Houghton has kicked the

:01:26. > :01:29.ball and Tuimavave has kicked the ball, the pressure was on Sneyd. He

:01:30. > :01:33.needed every kicking responsibility, whereas Sandow's kicked, Gidley has

:01:34. > :01:38.kicked and they balance themselves off nicely. Sandow's ability to pick

:01:39. > :01:42.off space with the ball is almost impossible to defend, let me tell

:01:43. > :01:49.you. Hull would have come up with a plan to stop Sandow from kicking 40,

:01:50. > :01:52.20s. Sandow picks this opportunity, spots the space and kicks it in a

:01:53. > :01:56.way that's impossible to defend. So what do you do as a coach if you

:01:57. > :02:01.need other options just to take the pressure off Sneyd a little bit? You

:02:02. > :02:05.mentioned a couple of things. Take another step further back so he has

:02:06. > :02:11.more time to pick his space. You also have maybe a second option to

:02:12. > :02:13.set themselves up. Or kick earlier when the opportunity not to be

:02:14. > :02:18.pressured by this Warrington defence is there. I would like to see the

:02:19. > :02:25.centres or the wingers kick from out wide. That would take pressure off

:02:26. > :02:28.Sneyd as well. We talked about the Houghton-Clark battle and the runs

:02:29. > :02:34.from dummy half. One of the exciting things if you are a Warrington fan

:02:35. > :02:38.or coach is this, when the game becomes unstructured, Warrington are

:02:39. > :02:42.renowned for planting up when Clark goes into dummy half. He creates

:02:43. > :02:47.speed and distance from his own line and creates field position for his

:02:48. > :02:54.team. Look, he is chomping at the bit to run out of dummy half. I

:02:55. > :02:56.believe it is one of the key differences between the two sides.

:02:57. > :03:01.When the game is unstructured, Warrington come to life. When the

:03:02. > :03:07.game is unstructured, I believe Hull struggle more in that style of game.

:03:08. > :03:10.This is a huge point Jon is making. Danny Houghton hasn't been as

:03:11. > :03:14.effective but he's been effective when you consider what Warrington

:03:15. > :03:24.did running out of dummy half. Early in the game the Hull defence was on

:03:25. > :03:29.top. As the game gets unstructured, has more tiredness in both ranks,

:03:30. > :03:33.we'll see the prowess of Houghton for Hull, Michaels maybe, but

:03:34. > :03:39.particularly Clark. So on the unrushed thing, are you saying that

:03:40. > :03:44.Warrington have greater players to deal with the unstructured phases of

:03:45. > :03:47.the game? We've got guys who embrace running out of dummy half when the

:03:48. > :03:52.defence is unstructured and not set. I think Clark and Ratchford and all

:03:53. > :03:59.those guys get excited when the ruck's quick. They have had a lot of

:04:00. > :04:05.quick rucks into that half, with the likes of Pritchard, Sika Manu. I

:04:06. > :04:11.think the Hull players are more about creating quick balls and

:04:12. > :04:16.taking advantage of them. If you look at Hull FC's back line it is

:04:17. > :04:21.about creating and not taking advantage. We saw what Danny

:04:22. > :04:26.Houghton and Daryl Clark can do. We with now hear what they do. Both

:04:27. > :04:32.players have worn the player mic for us this afternoon.

:04:33. > :05:05.Pressure. Keep building, Carlos. Arm wrestle, boys.

:05:06. > :05:16.That's the difference. Chris Hughes gone.

:05:17. > :06:00.A quick one on that, they are saying similar things aren't they, no

:06:01. > :06:09.errors, focus, it's an arm wrestle, boys. They are saying quite similar

:06:10. > :06:18.stuff. I think the Jack Hughes one was more of hope. He will say to

:06:19. > :06:24.himself, Chris Hill has gone, I hope. The energy of the team and the

:06:25. > :06:30.encouragement and the enthusiasm. Great voices. And they've been less

:06:31. > :06:34.close to swearing than you over the course of that first happen. Now to

:06:35. > :06:37.pitch-side, as Tanya Arnold is with a legend of the game who this time

:06:38. > :06:42.last year was already on his way to picking up the Challenge Cup. I'm

:06:43. > :06:47.with Kevin Sinfield. Rather than just turn up and enjoy the game,

:06:48. > :06:53.you've got your boots on. What have you been doing and what is it in aid

:06:54. > :06:59.of? It is only a year since we had a very special day. I've been here as

:07:00. > :07:11.a guest of the RFL, but to have a go at the lack borrowds crossbar

:07:12. > :07:16.challenge. There was a chance to win ?120,000 for charity. But even

:07:17. > :07:21.though I didn't do it, Ladbrokes have donated the money. Money. You

:07:22. > :07:26.have to put yourself out there sometimes. I was more nervous than I

:07:27. > :07:29.ever was before a game, but now I can relax. You spoke about last

:07:30. > :07:35.year, a special day for you all. Very much so. And for the viewers at

:07:36. > :07:39.home, down here pitch-side you won't believe how warm it is. Every time

:07:40. > :07:44.I've played here I've cramped after 60 minutes. Some of those guys look

:07:45. > :07:49.really tired. For the game to be in the balance like it is, expect a

:07:50. > :07:53.great second half. You start a new job with the RFL next week as rugby

:07:54. > :08:00.director. What is it and what do you hope to achieve? A big posh title

:08:01. > :08:06.and a big announcement, but I'm still in that transitional phase of

:08:07. > :08:10.coming out of rugby. Not quite ready for that full-time role yet. Two

:08:11. > :08:14.days a week. To be part of the England set-up and also to be part

:08:15. > :08:17.of some of the grass roots stuff that's going on is really important

:08:18. > :08:23.to me. I'm trying to grow the game in different way that we can. But

:08:24. > :08:27.also working with Super League. I was able while I was playing to get

:08:28. > :08:30.a business degree. To be able to use that alongside some of the great

:08:31. > :08:35.people in Super League is fantastic. Just great to be back in the game.

:08:36. > :08:40.Good luck to you. Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you in the

:08:41. > :08:45.future. Thank you very much. Thank you to Kevin Sinfield for talking to

:08:46. > :08:53.us. He performed in the pre-Challenge Cup final school boys

:08:54. > :08:57.game, Denis Betts and Phil Clark. 30 years ago. Steven Mullaney was

:08:58. > :09:06.another schoolboy who played in this game. This was in 1986. He scored a

:09:07. > :09:11.superb solo try as Wakefield schools defeated St Helens 17-0. Tragically

:09:12. > :09:17.Steven died in a road accident the following year, so as a tribute to

:09:18. > :09:21.him, this game is renamed the Steven Mullaney memorial game. And stars of

:09:22. > :09:27.the future will always come through this game. Earlier today we had

:09:28. > :09:35.Castleford Academy against St Peter's of Wigan. Castleford 6-0

:09:36. > :09:41.down early on, but this individual effort from Riley Brown brought them

:09:42. > :09:45.level. And in what was a close contest, Castleford wrapped up the

:09:46. > :09:49.win with seven minutes to go in the match. They worked the ball over to

:09:50. > :09:58.the right side with this kick across field from Ben Dean. It was finished

:09:59. > :10:04.in the corner by Daniel Gayle. Ched Walker is in the box to present the

:10:05. > :10:10.trophy to Castleford Academy. And that... Look at the celebrations!

:10:11. > :10:15.That is as a part of a Challenge Cup final day as the main game itself.

:10:16. > :10:21.Brilliant, fantastic to see that. It is great to see the community in our

:10:22. > :10:27.National Stadium. Maybe a few of them will be in Hull KR's Academy

:10:28. > :10:33.before long. Maybe one day. What do they have to do the get back into

:10:34. > :10:38.this? Control the ruck. Hopefully they can crack this great Warrington

:10:39. > :10:43.defence. Brian? I think Warrington are in the box seat. They keep doing

:10:44. > :10:45.what they are doing, narrow offensive dummy half will prove the

:10:46. > :10:52.difference between the two teams. Thank you. Warrington are on their

:10:53. > :10:58.way out. Hull are already out. We join John Kear, Jonathan Davies and

:10:59. > :11:02.Dave Woods. 40 minutes of history making awaits for one side or the

:11:03. > :11:07.other. Warrington are leading at the moment. Stuart Pearce is there. He's

:11:08. > :11:11.big mates of the Warrington coach Tony Smith. I think he handed

:11:12. > :11:15.toutiers device the Warrington players last night. We've been

:11:16. > :11:23.trying to find out who handed out the jerseys to the Hull players. And

:11:24. > :11:29.Lee Radford said Mike Bassett, but we think he is pulling our legs. In

:11:30. > :11:32.2005 you handed them out as a Hull coach. That's right. It was us

:11:33. > :11:37.against the world. That's the attitude they'll need to take. For

:11:38. > :11:42.me Hull FC, this second half it is like the semifinal which was nip and

:11:43. > :11:47.tuck against Wigan. They came out in the first quarter, the third quarter

:11:48. > :11:54.of the game and they offloaded and caused Wigan some problems. A

:11:55. > :11:58.two-pass kick behind the up-coming Warrington defence, some inside play

:11:59. > :12:09.or early play. It is set wonderfully well isn't it. Just the one score in

:12:10. > :12:14.it at the moment. Whether it gets blown wide open or stays tight and

:12:15. > :12:18.tense for what remains. So much at stake from both sides' point of

:12:19. > :12:23.view. The first set of the second half comes to an end with Sandow

:12:24. > :12:28.putting the ball high in the air. And Michaels catches it safely

:12:29. > :12:36.enough. The tackle is made. Oh, he's lost it! A terrific effort by

:12:37. > :12:43.Atkins. They get a penalty, because Hull rolling on. Immediately the

:12:44. > :12:50.coach says two points. It is not like Tony Smith. He wants to keep

:12:51. > :12:54.the ball in play, but not today. It is all about the scoreboard. It

:12:55. > :12:59.doesn't matter if you win by one point or 101, the prize is the same.

:13:00. > :13:02.That was frustration. The ball had been out, a clean catch. I'm sure

:13:03. > :13:07.that's going to be peppered that corner of the field. The sun is very

:13:08. > :13:13.much in the eyes of the centre and the wing on the right-hand side for

:13:14. > :13:20.Hull. It was a very good take by Michaels, but he lost his focus.

:13:21. > :13:26.There is frustration in giving the penalty away. A bonus for Warrington

:13:27. > :13:35.early in the second half. We are waiting for their tea now. It is a

:13:36. > :13:38.big kick, this. You say it's simple for a kicker of Gidley's ability,

:13:39. > :13:44.but in these conditions... He was swinging a leg around. Going through

:13:45. > :13:48.a few shadow kicks, almost as if it has come early in the second half,

:13:49. > :13:53.he isn't properly warmed up again. I wonder if they are fatigued as well.

:13:54. > :13:58.Took an age to get there, so he was staying relaxed. Nine times out of

:13:59. > :14:02.ten he kicks this. It is quite a simple kick for Gidley. He would

:14:03. > :14:07.expect to kick it. And he has taken the full minute as part of the laws

:14:08. > :14:13.of rugby league. You've got a full minute to take the kick. He is

:14:14. > :14:14.milking that time. So much so that the referee has called the clock

:14:15. > :14:31.off. Gidley, this could be the decider,

:14:32. > :14:36.and he chips it. Oh, he's put it wide. The connection there didn't

:14:37. > :14:41.seem all that confident. All things being equal Warrington get the ball

:14:42. > :14:43.back here. The drop out on the 20, but that's two points missed. That's

:14:44. > :14:56.a sitter. Didn't look confident. You have to put every penalty into

:14:57. > :14:59.context, and that is massive pressure, start of the second half

:15:00. > :15:05.of the Challenge Cup final, and he has fluffed his lines. He has lent

:15:06. > :15:10.back on it and pushed it right, he will be disappointed with that. It

:15:11. > :15:16.will be interesting to look back on that, and Hill has dropped the ball,

:15:17. > :15:20.to compound the error. Hull FC find themselves in position inside the

:15:21. > :15:28.Warrington half with ball in hand only six behind. As we mentioned,

:15:29. > :15:34.momentum is massive, and that two points, that mistake, the missed

:15:35. > :15:41.kick, that really sets up Hull. DRS showing it to whoever fancies

:15:42. > :15:49.running onto it, here comes Fonua, real handful, gets the ball away. --

:15:50. > :16:02.Tuimavave. That is the way to do it, that is the way to do it!

:16:03. > :16:11.Hull said their camp 20 metres out. Running it back towards his left

:16:12. > :16:17.hand side, Minichiello will track back from whence he came. With a

:16:18. > :16:23.surge and an urge, asking a lot of the Warrington defensive line. The

:16:24. > :16:29.Hull fans are getting their voices in, it is chaste, it is missed, and

:16:30. > :16:33.in the end Rashford carries its safe underneath the sticks. The drop out

:16:34. > :16:42.will come, Hull FC are turning up the screw now. -- Ratchford. We have

:16:43. > :16:46.seen the kicks in behind the winner, exactly what we called for,

:16:47. > :16:50.outstanding from Hull FC, when you felt that Warrington may be looking

:16:51. > :16:57.comfortable, and all of a sudden they are looking shaky. There is an

:16:58. > :17:02.injury as well, I saw the arm go up straight. It is tense at the start,

:17:03. > :17:08.let's hear what was said at half-time. Lee Radford walked by me

:17:09. > :17:14.taking up the high position in the stand, looking calm and relaxed, he

:17:15. > :17:18.has told his players he cannot fault their defensive effort. One two good

:17:19. > :17:24.chances blown in the first half, need to work on field position,

:17:25. > :17:27.back-up the dummy half. In the Warrington camp, Tony Smith very

:17:28. > :17:34.happy with the first hour for his side, said defence will be key and

:17:35. > :17:40.we need to respect the ball, up the kick chase good, try to pin Hull in

:17:41. > :17:45.their own half. Both sides had huge crates of ice taken in at half-time.

:17:46. > :17:54.Houghton runs away from dummy of again, gets the pass away! Tuimavave

:17:55. > :17:59.chopped down less than ten away, the referee says it is another six

:18:00. > :18:05.tackles. Here comes Houghton, and on the right-hand side is Liam Watts.

:18:06. > :18:10.He is that close to the Warrington line. Houghton stands and waits and

:18:11. > :18:18.punches it out to the right-hand side. Warrington take it! That is a

:18:19. > :18:26.winger playing in the central position. What... ?! His brain has

:18:27. > :18:34.exploded in the heat! What the heck is he doing on tackle there?! I

:18:35. > :18:44.cannot answer that. Warrington have been let off. Big mistake. He just

:18:45. > :18:48.blew it. Warrington run hit back. Is certainly a different Hull side now,

:18:49. > :18:52.they were safe in the first half, they did not look for the off-load,

:18:53. > :18:58.but a spate of off-loads in the second half, that has broken the

:18:59. > :19:07.Warrington defence. The King brothers on the field together.

:19:08. > :19:14.Plenty of brothers in arms stories down the years. That is a good

:19:15. > :19:15.chase, that. In these conditions, that is a good distance kick and a

:19:16. > :19:36.good chase. Trying to hustle their way forward

:19:37. > :19:44.again, more collisions. Collected and scampered. Oh, that took a

:19:45. > :19:51.Warrington touch, oh! The referee says not gone. Is the touch judge

:19:52. > :19:58.going to help him? I think he will. It goes to the touch judge. I think

:19:59. > :20:06.this is going to be a reverse decision. It is a mistake. Well done

:20:07. > :20:13.any end. They got it right in the end. The referee unsighted, the

:20:14. > :20:16.touch judge saying, let's have a look at that again. It doesn't

:20:17. > :20:22.matter how they come to the decision as long as it is the correct one.

:20:23. > :20:26.Unfortunately for Minichiello, he thought he was away. But the tackle

:20:27. > :20:34.is made, it is a scrum, let them come down.

:20:35. > :20:49.Garry Schofield, he played in 85 as well.

:20:50. > :21:05.Sneyd back towards the middle again here. It is knocked on. Not gone in

:21:06. > :21:09.the tackle. A glimpse from Manu, questioning, the grimace. There have

:21:10. > :21:12.been a couple of loose carries by Hull, and Warrington have maybe just

:21:13. > :21:25.ignore the ball on this occasion, I think this is a steal. You cannot

:21:26. > :21:29.allow that loose carry. In that case, you are relying on the

:21:30. > :21:33.referee. And there is no need to, just hang onto it. Control what you

:21:34. > :21:42.can control, keep the football secure. Warrington lead 6-0, the

:21:43. > :21:58.story is not done yet. Here is Toby King. Big Brother George.

:21:59. > :22:11.Hill with the off-load, Ratchford. He has lost the ball, he was

:22:12. > :22:20.desperately trying to keep it alive, too many limbs in there, and he has

:22:21. > :22:22.knocked it on. And on come the water carriers. It is certainly exciting,

:22:23. > :22:41.isn't it? It may be tiredness. They are monumental efforts from

:22:42. > :22:45.both sides, they really are. Thoroughly enjoying the game, only

:22:46. > :22:56.one try in it, and that was a mistake. You do not needed to be

:22:57. > :23:00.30-24 to make a great game, when there is will, desire and commitment

:23:01. > :23:06.from the players, in a cauldron like this, it just makes for great event.

:23:07. > :23:17.Liam Watts getting some attention, Gareth Ellis still on the touchline.

:23:18. > :23:22.He is amongst those was so disappointed to miss the previous

:23:23. > :23:27.final, but rather tempered by the fact that he was German back home

:23:28. > :23:36.and witnessed the birth of I think it was his son. -- he was driven

:23:37. > :23:44.back home. There are more important factors in life sometimes. Great

:23:45. > :23:45.tackle. Danny Houghton is at dummy half, as Hull try to move it

:23:46. > :23:58.forward. Big fellas making their presence

:23:59. > :24:06.felt, trying to make Warrington hurt with that latest effort. Manu goes

:24:07. > :24:10.right. Consumed by Warrington defenders. So here comes the sixth

:24:11. > :24:17.tackle, Sneyd, with the left foot, will drive it down the middle.

:24:18. > :24:28.Picked up by Evans, looking for a way out, but it is Minichiello's

:24:29. > :24:33.shoulder he finds. Liam Watts is back on the field now. They have got

:24:34. > :24:37.to get in and do some work now, help their team-mates out, the big

:24:38. > :24:42.forwards, rather than ploughing a lonely furrow. Get in, use quick

:24:43. > :24:51.feet, try to speed the play out. Keep some energy in the tank. Here

:24:52. > :24:58.is Westwood. Taking him into the heart of the Hull defence, a snaking

:24:59. > :25:03.run from dummy half, Clark. Only one tackle to go, Sandow, the little

:25:04. > :25:11.magician with the kick over the top. He shaves his eyes, he catches it,

:25:12. > :25:14.running like a steam train. I have to say, Hughes has been brilliant,

:25:15. > :25:20.the workrate of Jack Hughes has been phenomenal.

:25:21. > :25:26.Some tough bodies doing some tough work at the moment. Good three

:25:27. > :25:32.tackles from the Warrington Wolves defensively.

:25:33. > :25:39.They are going to kick a little earlier, and Sneyd is going are

:25:40. > :25:48.after this as it bounces into the hands of Ratchford.

:25:49. > :25:56.There is a long, long way to go, a long way to go. Promises of mistakes

:25:57. > :26:13.in defence and tries to come. Evans. Gidley into the pocket of defenders,

:26:14. > :26:17.wanting to get the off-load away, and he does. Bennie Westwood on the

:26:18. > :26:37.inside, a step away by there, but a drop out conceded and

:26:38. > :26:42.need the stakes. Mo Farah. And, get up and wins the race, this is very

:26:43. > :26:46.similar! -- falls down. These guys are out on their feet but they are

:26:47. > :26:54.keeping up the quality play. Look at the defensive effort from Fonua,

:26:55. > :27:03.magnificent. I think it is carried, isn't it? It is. He has got the

:27:04. > :27:06.speed, the awareness, lovely kick. Talanoa did a marvellous job,

:27:07. > :27:20.tidying everything up. Back comes Hill. Awaiting more inspiration. You

:27:21. > :27:24.can see the leading tacklers there. 37! Peters played every second of

:27:25. > :27:29.this game, Houghton, a monumental effort. -- he has played. Is

:27:30. > :27:39.straight and is up to go for the line, but Hull are going to hang on,

:27:40. > :27:46.hang on. -- he straightens up. You feel the pace at which they are

:27:47. > :27:51.playing now. I think the Warrington fans are feeling this is a bit of a

:27:52. > :27:59.con, trying to give his side the chance to recover, a little bit of

:28:00. > :28:06.oxygen. I thought he would play on. Well, they could have done that. He

:28:07. > :28:12.could interfere with play there. It is a big call, isn't it? I can

:28:13. > :28:20.understand Bowden's reasoning, to tell the truth. I cannot understand

:28:21. > :28:26.the referee's reasoning, though. If I were a Warrington player, I would

:28:27. > :28:35.not be happy. Warrington come forward again. There is the fourth

:28:36. > :28:42.tackle, two to go in this set. Warrington just a couple of strides

:28:43. > :28:52.away. Spun back to Gidley, Sandow, Ratchford takes it. Last play in the

:28:53. > :28:59.set. Hughes, Sandow puts it high. Where does it come down?! What a

:29:00. > :29:07.take that was by Fonua, who left prodigiously and courted! -- caught

:29:08. > :29:11.it. And Hull begin to ratchet themselves back.

:29:12. > :29:19.Fonua is used to playing on the wing, so he read that exceptionally

:29:20. > :29:25.well. What a great picture that was. Two great fleets competing for a

:29:26. > :29:29.ball. Yeaman on the halfway line. Sneyd under pressure from Hughes

:29:30. > :29:51.gets the kick away. Hughes has done a man to man job on him today.

:29:52. > :30:02.Who is going to crack? Clark... Gidley... Atkins squeezes the ball

:30:03. > :30:13.away under duress. Clark has support on the left-hand side. It's going

:30:14. > :30:25.to be Kevin who dives into the corner. Clark was instrumental. That

:30:26. > :30:32.was like a centre with an outside break. Went on the outside, gave to

:30:33. > :30:37.ball early to Currie and Currie zipped on the touchline. A

:30:38. > :30:42.brilliant, brilliant try. Absolutely magnificent. High-quality rugby

:30:43. > :30:49.league. We said who was going to crack first. Well, Hull FC have

:30:50. > :30:52.cracked first on the back of outstanding rugby from Daryl Clark.

:30:53. > :30:58.Look at the footwork there. Offloading comes. Clark is hunting

:30:59. > :31:07.space, sees the space, puts his foot down. He looks like a winger.

:31:08. > :31:14.Absolutely quality from Clark initially and with his decision

:31:15. > :31:21.making and execution and from Currie to seal the try. A brilliant

:31:22. > :31:28.outside. All from the two offloads. A brilliant finish. The England

:31:29. > :31:32.rugby league side is blessed with a real depth of talent. Certainly in

:31:33. > :31:35.the forward pack at the moment, and Ben Currie is very much a part of

:31:36. > :31:44.that depth of talent. Get your best players on. Put them

:31:45. > :32:02.on the field. That's right. It is much more testing on the

:32:03. > :32:10.touchline but how often do they land them from here when they miss the

:32:11. > :32:19.easy ones? Gidley convince it in. Has he pushed it wide? He has. It

:32:20. > :32:27.drops not only wide but short. Two kicks, they are tired kicks. He

:32:28. > :32:33.looks tired. Acceleration. The wing ser drawn in. Only Shaul pulled back

:32:34. > :32:38.but the pass is too good, but there is too much pace. Brilliant try.

:32:39. > :32:51.We've got Daryl Clark Miked up as well. We'll hear from him later.

:32:52. > :32:56.Taken by Ratchford. A penalty there. Fonua was taken off the ball by

:32:57. > :33:08.Atkins. Two complaints amongst the Hull players.

:33:09. > :33:23.The next score is vital. Hill taken it forward. Clark, at dummy half,

:33:24. > :33:29.goes right. Hughes, the last time Hull were here they lost 16-0, in

:33:30. > :33:38.2013. At the moment they trail by 10 point to nil. That's a good kick but

:33:39. > :33:45.it is taken away. Clattered into. More of a hip charge than a shoulder

:33:46. > :33:52.charge. He has blooded the book of his head. And they get a penalty

:33:53. > :34:01.here. A chance to clear that line once again. Testing times for the

:34:02. > :34:06.Black and Whites. Hang on in and one of the big players got to cope with

:34:07. > :34:12.a big player. For me his arms are down. No wrapping of the arms there.

:34:13. > :34:15.Penalty. A clash of heads there has led to both of them having a bloody

:34:16. > :34:34.conclusion. That's it, put a lump of Vas on it

:34:35. > :34:41.and then a couple of stitches in. This goes short, Fonua. That the a

:34:42. > :34:47.penalty. He's taken out. Is that Atkins? That's a penalty. I don't

:34:48. > :34:52.know about that, Jonathan. I think he played for that. I disagree. That

:34:53. > :35:05.was a clear penalty. He's not even going back in the direction of the

:35:06. > :35:11.ball. You can protect the full-back. Sneyd will be looking for distance

:35:12. > :35:18.here. Safety of touch. They need to ball now. Hull need to keep the ball

:35:19. > :35:23.and keep possession. Possession is 58% to 42% and territory is 61%.

:35:24. > :35:28.They need possession, need to build their confidence. Get the ball in

:35:29. > :35:34.hand. It could put pressure on Warrington. Scott Taylor 40 metres

:35:35. > :35:39.from the Warrington line. Still four tackles left, so it is a goodish

:35:40. > :35:46.position that Hull find themselves in. Minichiello... Has it gone back

:35:47. > :35:51.towards no, the referee got it spot on. He lost it in the collision. It

:35:52. > :36:00.is frustrating for the Black and Whites at the moment. I think it was

:36:01. > :36:08.Gidley. Is that Gidley? Yeah, it is. He is tackling like a back rower.

:36:09. > :36:14.He's bleeding from the head. He is putting some big hits in. He is

:36:15. > :36:19.doing everyone on the field a favour. He might be hurting but a

:36:20. > :36:26.few lungs are burning, so they can take another break here. He cop as

:36:27. > :36:30.right hook from Jack Hughes. Minichiello is such a dangerous

:36:31. > :36:34.runner. Has good footwork and space. Comes up hard. You've got to take

:36:35. > :36:39.his space. Got to get your shoulder in there and you've got be brave.

:36:40. > :36:58.All ticked. This doesn't look very good for Warrington. That bloke's

:36:59. > :37:06.been brilliant today, Jack Hughes. Spent last year at Huddersfield. He

:37:07. > :37:20.was previously at Wigan. I think he is going off. Gidley comes off, not

:37:21. > :37:26.looking very good. That's giving everything for the cause isn't it.

:37:27. > :37:37.Westwood is going to be taking his place in just a moment. I think

:37:38. > :37:45.they'll put Westwood in the back row, put Hughes in the centre and

:37:46. > :37:50.put young Toby King as a pivot. They've got Ratchford out there as

:37:51. > :37:59.well. That was a big blow for them though. He's had a big game. His

:38:00. > :38:12.place kicking hasn't been the best but he's had a big game. Defensively

:38:13. > :38:16.he's been absolutely immense. Sims with a lot of effort again but it is

:38:17. > :38:23.well matched by the Hull defenders, who are keeping it tight. King goes

:38:24. > :38:29.down the centre. And now it goes left as Sandow puts the kick over

:38:30. > :38:32.the top. Shaul has to take it. Atkins almost collars him. Shaul

:38:33. > :38:37.gets away but there is more there to cover. They like that corner don't

:38:38. > :38:43.they? I thought they played, the sun is strong in the players' eyes. I

:38:44. > :39:00.think the ball came free there. I'm not sure. So Hull with a bit of a

:39:01. > :39:04.bargain extra 10 yards. Taken in by Green. Still goes backwards but they

:39:05. > :39:08.are on their fifth tackle and they are not on "the Hoff" way yet. So

:39:09. > :39:12.Hull really are up against it at the moment. Sneyd gets a kick away from

:39:13. > :39:18.behind the 40-metre mark and it goes out of play! Talk about moments in

:39:19. > :39:22.matches, that could be massive, because that kick from Sneyd has

:39:23. > :39:29.taken Hull from being... Oh, hang on. Yes, he has given Hull. But that

:39:30. > :39:33.kick from Sneyd has turned the whole thing around here. It is a momentum

:39:34. > :39:38.changer. They are checking that it is within the 40, but he spotted

:39:39. > :39:46.where the space. Is he's executed the kick brilliantly. What a kick! I

:39:47. > :39:51.think he's in. By a mile. Two significant moments. Gidley going

:39:52. > :40:04.off, and that kick. Two big, big moments. And now they need the

:40:05. > :40:12.points. Wow! You saw the big tackles and big breaks, but that big kick up

:40:13. > :40:16.there amongst them. It is Warrington's job now to neutralise

:40:17. > :40:23.that kick from Sneyd, with six big tackles. There is one. Sneyd is

:40:24. > :40:28.involved again. Head snaps back from Greening that was, but he gets up

:40:29. > :40:34.and plays. Houghton to the left-hand side. An effort from Gareth Ellis.

:40:35. > :40:39.But equally urgent for the Warrington defence. Houghton poised.

:40:40. > :40:43.The Hull defence likewise. Sneyd again, to Minichiello. Minichiello

:40:44. > :40:51.with the footwork but too many to beat in the end. Two tackles. A

:40:52. > :40:57.couple of tackles to go. They are offering it up and they are over the

:40:58. > :41:02.line. They go back to the 10 metre long. The sixth tackle. This is

:41:03. > :41:12.going up in the air. I think they will target Sandow in the centre. A

:41:13. > :41:20.high one from Steve. From Sneyd. And it is taken and it is scored. Oh my

:41:21. > :41:26.word! What a turnaround. Mahe Fonua has scored a try that lifts Hull's

:41:27. > :41:32.hopes and hearts. I saw the organising in it and saw the kick.

:41:33. > :41:37.Fonua had taken a great high Paul on his own line, so why not target the

:41:38. > :41:45.small man, put it in the air. That was a brilliant take again. My word,

:41:46. > :41:50.Sneyd has come up with two absolute peaches. Peach number one, the

:41:51. > :41:56.40-20. Executed to perfection. Brilliant. And at the end of the set

:41:57. > :42:04.and we've got peach number two, which is a beautiful lofted kick on

:42:05. > :42:08.Sandow's head. Great catching of the ball, Talanoa. He is going to come

:42:09. > :42:15.down with the ball. He's going to come down with the four points. Mahe

:42:16. > :42:20.Fonua, what a try! He organised it. When they were over in the try line,

:42:21. > :42:30.over the try line, he was organising it. He said right, it's going up.

:42:31. > :42:34.The Hull fans are all on their feet. It is a collective nervousness which

:42:35. > :42:37.has driven them to their feet. They can't sit down because they are on

:42:38. > :42:43.edge, because their side is back in the game. To our right the

:42:44. > :42:49.Warrington fans is it motionless and mainly in silence, as they know what

:42:50. > :42:54.a blow that might prove to. Game on. Sneyd with the kick. This awkward

:42:55. > :42:59.kicking style he has but which so often is so effective. Glares at

:43:00. > :43:07.where he wants the ball to go... Swings the left boot... The Hull

:43:08. > :43:13.fans, the roar tells you about the success there. Sneyd puts it over.

:43:14. > :43:23.Heavy are back in it. Hull 6, Warrington 10. Momentum, momentum,

:43:24. > :43:26.momentum. Two great kicks by Sneyd, and the injury to Kurt Gidley. I

:43:27. > :43:30.think as a dropped ball you've got to take a dropped ball. This is a

:43:31. > :43:35.tight affair. You've got an opportunity. Even if it is this

:43:36. > :43:47.material. But there is only four points in it, a dropped ball makes

:43:48. > :43:53.it five. Without wishing to get too gory, he has a nasty cut on his left

:43:54. > :43:57.eye. They are trying to put microstitches in it but he has a

:43:58. > :44:05.touch of concussion, so it is touch and go whether we'll see Kurt Gidley

:44:06. > :44:09.back on the pitch. We talk over the years about momentum switches, can

:44:10. > :44:13.Warrington regather their thoughts and their poise? Will they quell

:44:14. > :44:20.this new-found enthusiasm amongst the ranks of the Black and Whites?

:44:21. > :44:25.I'm with you, Dave. Warrington need to fight fire with fire here. I

:44:26. > :44:29.reckon the crowd stands at 55% Hull FC fans and they are all back their

:44:30. > :44:33.team. There's a new-found energy the Hull FC team. What Warrington need

:44:34. > :44:37.to do is stick to their guns and get back up the field and put pressure

:44:38. > :44:41.back on Hull. That kick from Houghton might have been better but

:44:42. > :44:48.it was made pretty good by the chase from the Hull defenders. Warrington

:44:49. > :44:51.bringing it out now. Atkins. Simple, effective stuff there they are

:44:52. > :44:56.looking for here to drive downfield. To silence, this wall of noise which

:44:57. > :45:05.is building behind our backs from the Hull fans. Towards a halfway

:45:06. > :45:08.line. Ratchford. Ashton Sims. Tackled by... Sandow again looking

:45:09. > :45:27.for the touchline. Doesn't find it. Great chase. Talanoa trying to find

:45:28. > :45:34.an escape. I think that is why they have been kicking to the corner so

:45:35. > :45:41.much, Michaels and Talanoa. Westwood has hurt himself making that tackle,

:45:42. > :45:50.he has landed very awkwardly. He is going off. Hull with renewed energy.

:45:51. > :45:56.Two tackles left in this set as well. 16 minutes to play, loads of

:45:57. > :46:01.time as well. This is the man who lifted them, and here he goes again,

:46:02. > :46:08.all picked up rather smartly by Ratchford. That was a half chance,

:46:09. > :46:17.that. Half chance for both. Bradford is cramping up. Fonua is down as

:46:18. > :46:22.well, it is all happening now. The conditions are absolutely brutal.

:46:23. > :46:30.There is the half chance. They are going to stop the clock there. A

:46:31. > :46:34.half chance for Hull, and then a few steps away... Yeah, magnificent,

:46:35. > :46:46.this, what a great effort from both teams. A proper, proper final. It

:46:47. > :46:53.is. The new Wembley has its classic. 15 minutes still to enjoy. The Hull

:46:54. > :47:21.fans. Yeah, the Warrington... The Hull people belting it out, the

:47:22. > :47:26.Warrington fans trying to reply. Classic tries by this man. He

:47:27. > :47:33.doesn't know much about dressing, does he?! Tanya Arnold, what are you

:47:34. > :47:38.saying? Ben Westwood has gone off down the tunnel with a shoulder,

:47:39. > :47:43.ligament damage, and several of them have got cramp at there. Remember

:47:44. > :47:47.what Kevin Sinfield said, they are all suffering after 60 minutes.

:47:48. > :47:54.Clerk at dummy half, Warrington and Sandown needs inspiration. It does

:47:55. > :48:02.not come like that, Atkins, well, put that down to fatigue. I would

:48:03. > :48:05.agree with you totally, the pass is good enough, he should have taken

:48:06. > :48:10.that in, but there is a collective belief among the Hull FC following.

:48:11. > :48:15.All of a sudden they started believing, and they are doing their

:48:16. > :48:23.best to raise their team. Is this going to be their day, when they

:48:24. > :48:27.finally laid to rest the historical fact that they hate to be reminded

:48:28. > :48:32.of, they have never won at Wembley? They have still got a big job to do,

:48:33. > :48:37.and Warrington are looking for a way back in. Both teams will get

:48:38. > :48:54.chances, David, in this last 15 minutes, both teams. Houghton.

:48:55. > :49:03.Tuimavave put it back on the inside. Fonua, Washbrook. He has added a

:49:04. > :49:11.zest to them, Washbrook, he has picked them up. Danny Houghton. A

:49:12. > :49:22.little step from Sneyd, tries to put the kick in, it is another set six,

:49:23. > :49:27.it another set, and it starts here. Warrington backs to the wall at the

:49:28. > :49:36.moment, carried in. Warrington with a job to do. How did goes to Sneyd,

:49:37. > :49:40.back inside. What an off-load, Ellis! The defenders rounding up to

:49:41. > :49:58.put him down. So Minichiello in that position, he

:49:59. > :50:08.swings it back to Houghton, here comes Sneyd with a kick over the

:50:09. > :50:15.top. Michaels, has he got enough on that to claim it as a try? On the

:50:16. > :50:19.field, the referee says no try, but we are going to hear for the first

:50:20. > :50:34.time in its final from the video referee. We have got no try on the

:50:35. > :50:38.field. Stop it on the kick. All the guys on the right are on site, there

:50:39. > :50:45.are players in the middle of the field. Everybody there is OK. Draw a

:50:46. > :50:49.point there. The men in the middle stay out of play, so that is fine. I

:50:50. > :50:56.just want to look at the ball now, please, so a close-up of the ball.

:50:57. > :51:03.It is grounded by Hull. I needed really slow. Nobody is touching the

:51:04. > :51:10.ball at present, still nobody. It is touched by Radford. It is touched by

:51:11. > :51:17.Ratchford there. Can I just go to make sure, after Radford touches the

:51:18. > :51:21.ball, it is not touched by Hull? He touches it backwards. Just make sure

:51:22. > :51:26.that Hull do not get a touch on the ball afterwards. So here we are on

:51:27. > :51:35.this close-up, from this site. Right. That is the hand of

:51:36. > :51:44.Ratchford. No hand on that by Hull. So on those angles I have got there,

:51:45. > :51:49.I will just look at this one. Right, there is no touch by Hull, it is

:51:50. > :51:58.knocked back by Stefan Ratchford, so no try, goal-line drop out.

:51:59. > :52:03.Well, the Hull fans were cheering, but I think they recognised that

:52:04. > :52:09.they will get the ball back. No try, but they will get the ball back.

:52:10. > :52:14.Great play, brilliant kick by Sneyd. He was late, late in realising that

:52:15. > :52:19.the kick was dangerous. But brilliant defensive play by

:52:20. > :52:23.Ratchford. Hull, you know, they are turning the screw now. It is another

:52:24. > :52:30.of those moments, down the years will we talk about that touch by

:52:31. > :52:33.Ratchford that saved the game? They brought the wing man up, slid it

:52:34. > :52:43.behind him, almost came up with the goods. We need a ball here. Here it

:52:44. > :52:48.comes, someone had smuggled it away! So well done, Stefan Ratchford,

:52:49. > :52:55.because had he not done that, Hull would have been level with a kick to

:52:56. > :53:00.come. But there is still a lot of work to do for this Warrington

:53:01. > :53:06.defence. Unless this kick finds touch, what a drop out! And another

:53:07. > :53:11.moment, it is knocked on by Talanoa, and Warrington, expecting to defend

:53:12. > :53:15.their own line, will now get the ball back inside their opponents'

:53:16. > :53:19.own half. You have got to catch that, if the ball is in the air for

:53:20. > :53:26.50 yards, someone has got to catch it. He cannot let it go dead. You

:53:27. > :53:31.catch it on the full, you have to catch it on the full. No-one

:53:32. > :53:37.committed to it. It was not a bad drop out, was it?! No, but from the

:53:38. > :53:45.Hull perspective, Lee Radford will not be saying that was a great kick.

:53:46. > :53:50.Stefan Ratchford, two moments there. Is he your man? 12 minutes to go,

:53:51. > :54:01.and lots more of these little moments to come. It is great, isn't

:54:02. > :54:05.it? One try and a goal to take the lead, one goal would put Warrington

:54:06. > :54:08.back in the comfort zone. I do not know how the players are feeling,

:54:09. > :54:23.but I am exhausted! It is training. On a bit flat now, you can see the

:54:24. > :54:28.energy levels have dropped, incredibly so, it has been such a

:54:29. > :54:32.top game. Here comes the final tackle, the referee has put his arm

:54:33. > :54:39.in the air, Sandow with a sneaky trip over the top, but waiting there

:54:40. > :54:40.was Taylor. Not a good end. Repeats set, that is what you want at this

:54:41. > :54:51.time in the game. Sneyd shovelling it, Minichiello

:54:52. > :54:58.trying to keep it alive, make Warrington harder. Here is Ellis,

:54:59. > :55:05.straightening things up. We are getting close to the time when the

:55:06. > :55:12.iconic man of the match trophy is announced. That is a tough call

:55:13. > :55:20.today. It may well need not be decided, because there are some big

:55:21. > :55:28.plays to come. The kick which Ratchford will chase, good chase. In

:55:29. > :55:36.the dying embers of the game, Matty Russell, still fleet of foot.

:55:37. > :55:47.And he has fumbled, and he has given Hull possession by knocking on. 30

:55:48. > :55:52.metres away from the Warrington line, head and feed for those in

:55:53. > :55:57.black and white. Look at this, nobody is touching him, he just

:55:58. > :56:03.drops it clean. Diaz got a tendency for that, how he carries the ball in

:56:04. > :56:11.that one arm. -- he has. It has been crucial over the years, and my word,

:56:12. > :56:20.that is a crucial error. Close now, isn't it? Whoever you support, even

:56:21. > :56:24.if you aren't neutral, they are really beginning to stretch. The

:56:25. > :56:32.Hull fans are urging their side on for one more big effort. One school

:56:33. > :56:37.is all it will take. We might not even have a winner today, we might

:56:38. > :56:45.be going to a replay. -- one school. It would be a week on Wednesday, in

:56:46. > :56:54.case you are wondering. I hope not! Someone deserves to win this. Here

:56:55. > :56:58.comes Taylor, they are inching closer and closer with four tackles

:56:59. > :57:03.still to come. Houghton again goes to that right-hand side. It is

:57:04. > :57:12.Sandow, he drops in self on the ball. He clutches it to his chest.

:57:13. > :57:16.You cannot be playing the clock yet, there is ten minutes. Warrington

:57:17. > :57:24.have stopped playing, Hull are forcing it, it is ten minutes to go.

:57:25. > :57:36.Take the tackle, you know,... Nine minutes and counting. Clark has been

:57:37. > :57:47.excellent. Darrell Clark. Ratchford. They are on to the last tackle

:57:48. > :57:51.again, and they are deeper. It is hit another player, it is still the

:57:52. > :57:56.sixth tackle, so Currie will have to kick it, and that is not a bad one,

:57:57. > :57:58.who knows where it will bounce? Luckily for Hull, it bounces out of

:57:59. > :58:26.play. He could be the only player ever to

:58:27. > :58:27.have won two Challenge Cup finals if they win today. This is what you

:58:28. > :58:43.want to see. Just look at them, they are out on

:58:44. > :58:48.their feet, Minichiello. This is where the game is played. Two

:58:49. > :58:54.tackles, carry the ball aggressively, and try Talanoa again.

:58:55. > :58:57.It is white, it is Michaels, he comes back down the middle, recovery

:58:58. > :59:09.from Matty Russell. Where are they going this time?

:59:10. > :59:15.Steve puts it up in the air. And back it comes, and Jamie Shaul! The

:59:16. > :59:23.Black and Whites are bouncing up and down. Shaul's first. First. It's all

:59:24. > :59:33.level. It might be a kick to win it for Hull FC. That's what it means.

:59:34. > :59:38.And again it's the kick where you compete for it. There was nothing on

:59:39. > :59:49.and all of a sudden he pops the ball in the air. I think it's been Fonua

:59:50. > :59:56.again who gets to it. He he hits the ball in the air. Gives it a little

:59:57. > :00:06.dink. Fonua, lovely awareness by Sneyd. This one finishes under the

:00:07. > :00:10.posts. Well, that's his third excellent kick, Sneyd Sneyd Sneyd,

:00:11. > :00:16.and it was to that man, Mahe Fonua, who has come up with the goods. Back

:00:17. > :00:24.into Sneyd's pathway and he picks up the supporting Shaul on the inside.

:00:25. > :00:37.Ashton Sims tells a picture there. That's cool, mind. It isn't won yet.

:00:38. > :00:44.What a game. We said Warrington might have stopped playing. Now they

:00:45. > :00:51.have to play. There's a nervous buzz amongst those Hull fans who know how

:00:52. > :00:59.close they are. What is he feeling? What's going through his mind at the

:01:00. > :01:07.moment, Marc Sneyd? Memories of '68. They different conditions. But they

:01:08. > :01:15.are missable, even from here. Down the years, for generations to come,

:01:16. > :01:22.Hull fans will talk about that kick and this is that kick. All that

:01:23. > :01:28.history and heart-break of never having won at Wembley, this could be

:01:29. > :01:32.the moment in which all of that is rewritten and forgotten. Marc Sneyd

:01:33. > :01:38.settles in for the biggest kick of his life. Life. As simple as it is,

:01:39. > :01:45.he has to put it over and he has put it over! And Hull, with only minutes

:01:46. > :01:55.to go, find themselves in a winning position. If they can't celebrate,

:01:56. > :02:01.they can't relax. No way. There are still some rugby league in this

:02:02. > :02:08.game. Look at the emotions. This will be a short kick will it? No,

:02:09. > :02:22.there are still six massive minutes to play. With Hull you kick it long

:02:23. > :02:35.and kick it out of bound. When they won

:02:36. > :02:41.We asked when they took place whether these moments would matter.

:02:42. > :02:47.This was Gidley early in the second half. Normally he would stroke them

:02:48. > :02:53.over no problem. And then wide on the left-hand side. We've seen Sneyd

:02:54. > :02:58.pick a simple one. That was a miss from Gidley. Didn't strike the ball

:02:59. > :03:04.well in either kick. With the second one, if it gets over, great. The

:03:05. > :03:08.first one is a bad miss. The problem with Wembley, for all the glory it

:03:09. > :03:12.brings to somebody, somebody's heart has to break. That's the nature of

:03:13. > :03:22.the event. But Warrington are not out of this yet. There are still

:03:23. > :03:26.five minutes to go. He wants to get a kick downfield as good as it can

:03:27. > :03:39.be. He wants it to hold up and it does that. He knows there's a pack

:03:40. > :03:44.of hooves behind him. It is whoever wants it most. All those years of

:03:45. > :03:49.history and inspire these Black and Whites to want it the most. It is as

:03:50. > :03:54.if they've got an extra leg. They've got more energy. But they've gone

:03:55. > :04:02.wide and they've got danger. Hughes, what a game he's had. Dwyer with a

:04:03. > :04:14.dummy and off he goes. But they rein him in and pull him down. Now Sandow

:04:15. > :04:19.is ushering Westerman on the inside. He shrugs off one defender. Is it

:04:20. > :04:28.going to run out of play? No it is not... Yes, it does. All that done,

:04:29. > :04:37.Hull wanted to scrum, Warrington wanted it. It needs to be up in the

:04:38. > :04:42.air. A poor decision. Look at the... You've got to put it up in the air

:04:43. > :04:47.and compete for it. You never ever know what's going to happen. But if

:04:48. > :04:50.the ball is going to go out of touch, you walk, you have a chat,

:04:51. > :05:07.take a breath. Big gulps of water and oxygen. The

:05:08. > :05:12.body is saying quit if you can. The head is saying let's just do it for

:05:13. > :05:18.another four minutes. One side or the other. Lee Radford would love to

:05:19. > :05:24.be out there, and Tony Smith, but all they can do is sit and watch.

:05:25. > :05:31.I'm not sure if you can enjoy these moments, even as a player. You want

:05:32. > :05:42.to win this game now. You can't afford to relax. Less than four

:05:43. > :05:48.minutes and Hull FC are praying there'll be no mistakes. Talanoa

:05:49. > :05:52.doing his job. Warrington saying let's get into them, let's minimise

:05:53. > :05:59.their go forward and justle this ball through if we can. A shoulder

:06:00. > :06:05.hit under the ball. Got to do something, you can't be passing.

:06:06. > :06:11.Make things happen. Houghton is going to get behind the 40 metre

:06:12. > :06:18.mark. No, his chase is good. He'll be happy with that. When you win it

:06:19. > :06:26.is easier, the chase is were. The chase is better. Ratchford carrying

:06:27. > :06:38.it forward, not a lot of support there. Three minutes and counting.

:06:39. > :06:42.Evans up to dummy half goes Dwyer. King coming back to this right-hand

:06:43. > :06:49.side. Hughes. Needs someone to take it forward here. Is Hughes that man?

:06:50. > :06:58.They've got to do something here. Clark. Westerman. Rolls it in.

:06:59. > :07:07.Westerman is still going! Westerman... 20 metres away. Last

:07:08. > :07:18.tackle in the set. Sandow. Out it goes. Currie puts the kick in. .

:07:19. > :07:26.It's another set of six! Six tackles to go. Sandow... Hill. Put down.

:07:27. > :07:33.Five tackles in this set. It is won and lost here. Sandow again. Wide,

:07:34. > :07:39.Atkins. Should have got an extra man. Played back to Sandow. Sandow

:07:40. > :07:55.lobbs it over the top. Currie springs up. Up. And he's lost it! He

:07:56. > :08:01.was a hero 20 minutes ago and now he's wondering has he let the

:08:02. > :08:05.company final slip? But what about that effort? He has been in over

:08:06. > :08:11.1,000 tackles Danny Houghton this season. That's the most important

:08:12. > :08:17.one. And he's been on that field for 78 minutes and 21 seconds, playing

:08:18. > :08:19.in the middle channel, running the dummy half and contributing

:08:20. > :08:28.defensively. He's been immense, that man. He's been brilliant. 52

:08:29. > :08:35.tackles. That could be the Man of the Match tackle. The only ever Hull

:08:36. > :08:43.player to win that trophy was Tommy Harris in 1960. His side that day

:08:44. > :08:50.were beaten 38-5 by Wakefield. They give it almost as a sympathy vote.

:08:51. > :08:58.But what a tackle. You feel that Currie, all he had to do was hang on

:08:59. > :09:04.to it and slide over. He was over. 52 tackles, that's unbelievable. And

:09:05. > :09:11.in this weather. That's more than my tackles for a season.

:09:12. > :09:32.Fonua. They have one more chance, Warrington. They will get the ball

:09:33. > :09:38.back in their hands again. I thought he stole that then. Scott Taylor

:09:39. > :09:45.almost going forward. Sneyd with a kick. Here we go. One minute to

:09:46. > :09:54.play. Oh, Ratchford... That's OK. It is a fumble but that's OK. 90 yards.

:09:55. > :10:02.Five tackles to make history, that's what Hull have got. Searching and

:10:03. > :10:09.searching. Guess who is there to make tackle 58. Evans running it.

:10:10. > :10:16.Put down. They need a break. A line break. Across the line they take it.

:10:17. > :10:21.Atkins. He's got a bit of speed. 30 seconds. It's back to Sandow. This

:10:22. > :10:26.is it. Towards the middle. Sandow flicks it back on the inside and

:10:27. > :10:33.here comes Currie. Currie to Ratchford. Ratchford throws it out.

:10:34. > :10:40.Westerman. Westerman spins it back. Sandow is there, but from nor Watts

:10:41. > :10:44.came in... The Cup Final is won! Listen to the noise for the Black

:10:45. > :10:53.and Whites! CHEERING. That's it! History is made

:10:54. > :11:02.in the most dramatic of circumstances. The new Wembley

:11:03. > :11:08.explosive final. Look at those Warrington players, collapsed in

:11:09. > :11:14.sheer exhaustion and disappointment. Hull FC have made a name for

:11:15. > :11:20.themselves today. No more can they say they've never won at Wembley.

:11:21. > :11:27.They have won at Wembley, and, boy, how have they won at Wembley! What

:11:28. > :11:33.an amazing game. Great play. I thought the two significant points

:11:34. > :11:37.were the Sneyd kick, the 40-20. Gidley going off was significant as

:11:38. > :11:40.well. But they clawed their way back, changed their tactic, went to

:11:41. > :11:46.offload, created opportunities and they took them. A brilliant game of

:11:47. > :11:52.rugby. Well done, Hull. Absolutely magnificent. It really was. If ever

:11:53. > :11:56.there's been a final that's won through sheer desire and sheer will,

:11:57. > :12:00.it's this one. Both teams were absolutely on their feet from

:12:01. > :12:06.somewhere this black and white team found the energy in order to

:12:07. > :12:12.complete the victory. Absolutely outstanding game of rugby league. An

:12:13. > :12:22.epic, a classic Challenge Cup final. The trophy by the way I'm told Marc

:12:23. > :12:26.Sneyd has been given the trophy. He becomes the first temperature Hull

:12:27. > :12:33.FC player to win that trophy and the winner's medal on the same day. He

:12:34. > :12:38.is now speaking is Damien Johnson. Mark, many congratulations. You've

:12:39. > :12:44.done it tough to win this Challenge Cup. Yeah, it took a while to get

:12:45. > :12:49.into it. The same reaction as when we played Wigan. We've gone in at

:12:50. > :12:53.half-time. Not scored a try and we've come out with a great attitude

:12:54. > :12:59.and rattled them a bit and took our chances. Tell me about your thought

:13:00. > :13:06.processes as you kicked for victory. Get it over. Just the same thought

:13:07. > :13:11.processes every single one. Luckily enough it was easier on that last

:13:12. > :13:15.one, so I'm thankful that happened. This is a personal redemption for

:13:16. > :13:20.you after what happened a few years ago. A little bit. Unbelievable

:13:21. > :13:28.feeling. Congratulations. You are the Man of the Match. Mahe Fonua is

:13:29. > :13:33.with us. Step in Mahe. What's the feeling like? First of all I would

:13:34. > :13:38.like to thank God for the opportunity. I would like to thank

:13:39. > :13:42.this club for the opportunity to play and for Hull FC fan for making

:13:43. > :13:47.the trip to Wembley. It is a great feeling. Hull have never won a

:13:48. > :13:59.Challenge Cup final at Wembley before today. You've laid a ghost to

:14:00. > :14:04.rest. It is good to put that hoodoo to rest. Being a young fella from

:14:05. > :14:09.Melbourne, I know there is heaps of history about this game. I knew

:14:10. > :14:14.about the hoodoo they had, and it is great to be a part of it. What about

:14:15. > :14:19.the fans? They've waited so long. I am so happy to give back to them.

:14:20. > :14:23.I've only been here 8 months but they've been here since day one. I'm

:14:24. > :14:30.happy to give back to them. Well done. Gareth Ellis, you've done it

:14:31. > :14:33.the hard way haven't you? Yeah, I don't know if people watching would

:14:34. > :14:39.appreciate how much hard work that was, to come back from 10-0 down I

:14:40. > :14:43.think it was. Not an open game, but a tough, gritty game. The lads

:14:44. > :14:47.worked so hard. It means so much to me and this group of players and to

:14:48. > :14:54.this club. I'm lost for words really. Thank you. Thank you.

:14:55. > :15:01.Lee Radford adjoins us, the winning coach. They are never going to talk

:15:02. > :15:05.about Hull never winning at Wembley again. They are going to be change

:15:06. > :15:11.the lyrics, I think! That 50 seconds tackle of the game, the most

:15:12. > :15:20.important tackle for anyone in the city. We knocked off Catalans,

:15:21. > :15:24.Wigan, Saints, and now Warrington, I do not think anyone can begrudge us

:15:25. > :15:29.taking the trophy home to Hull. I am really proud of the owner, who

:15:30. > :15:32.finance this club in difficult circumstances, so pleased for his

:15:33. > :15:38.stubbornness, not to get rid of me through the tough times, I am over

:15:39. > :15:42.the moon. Houghton was immense, but they all were. We did not play

:15:43. > :15:47.pretty by any stretch, there were some periods where we just looked

:15:48. > :15:51.gone. We flattened a bit, and the kicks at the end, towards the end,

:15:52. > :16:00.it is something we spoke about all week, and to see it come to fruition

:16:01. > :16:10.was phenomenal. Diddley was the turning point. I feel for him,

:16:11. > :16:15.because he is a champion player. -- Gidley. The surroundings can do

:16:16. > :16:19.strange things to players, I feel for him, I really do. Incredible

:16:20. > :16:26.scenes, how much does this mean to you? It means the club belongs where

:16:27. > :16:31.it needs to be, for me and my family, and all them fans, it is a

:16:32. > :16:35.dream come true. That tackle in the dying minutes, you will never make

:16:36. > :16:40.one more important. Never in my life, if that is the last one I

:16:41. > :16:45.make, I will die a happy man. I cannot speak, I am over the moon.

:16:46. > :16:51.Hewlett-Packard with emotion. I don't know what to say, we are a

:16:52. > :17:00.tight bunch, to succeed with these boys is everything. -- you look

:17:01. > :17:04.racked with emotion. You can see how hard we work for each other, when

:17:05. > :17:08.our backs are to the wall, when somebody comes through with a

:17:09. > :17:13.special play, we will celebrate hard, we deserve it. How special are

:17:14. > :17:18.these moments? I have never finished it, I will cherish it, I hope there

:17:19. > :17:24.are more to come, but we will have a good night tonight. Many

:17:25. > :17:30.congratulations. He is a Hull lad, Danny Houghton,

:17:31. > :17:36.and Brian Noble, that tackle will go down in Challenge Cup folklore. He

:17:37. > :17:42.makes 60 tackles every game, but he will remember that for the rest of

:17:43. > :17:51.his life, he wins the game for Hull, innocence. He just epitomised

:17:52. > :17:56.himself, and the club. Yes! You see it again, and you see Ben Currie's

:17:57. > :18:02.face as he realises the ball has come out of his hands, that sums up

:18:03. > :18:07.sport in one facial expression. Them are the fine lines, that is why we

:18:08. > :18:11.watch sport, why we want to be involved in sport, that close

:18:12. > :18:15.between winning and losing, great moment. What a moment for Danny

:18:16. > :18:21.Houghton, Hull lad, to come up with the tackle. The consequences of it

:18:22. > :18:27.being unsuccessful were grim. To make that tackle under the biggest

:18:28. > :18:32.amount of pressure is just a moment that will last through the history

:18:33. > :18:38.of the Challenge Cup. That is the iconic Challenge Cup moment for the

:18:39. > :18:43.history of the competition now. Alongside Kirk Yeaman, he has been

:18:44. > :18:48.there during the dark times, Danny Houghton has not known success at

:18:49. > :18:53.club level, but he has stuck at it. Finally, he has got there and won

:18:54. > :18:56.the Cup. We will get some more reaction, for every winner there is

:18:57. > :19:00.a loser, and from the balcony looking down on the pitch,

:19:01. > :19:07.Warrington have conducted themselves in a really classy way, led by Tony

:19:08. > :19:10.Smith, who is down there. Such narrow margins, you must have

:19:11. > :19:17.thought, when Ben Currie slid in that maybe you had got it. A game of

:19:18. > :19:20.inches sometimes, and we probably just allowed them in with a few

:19:21. > :19:24.errors in the second half, and our kicking game in the second half was

:19:25. > :19:31.not as good as theirs. I thought we did a pretty good job in the first

:19:32. > :19:36.half, second half, two or really three big kicks, like we did in the

:19:37. > :19:40.first, and they can be the difference. A game of inches, not

:19:41. > :19:45.much between the two teams. I thought it was a great game of rugby

:19:46. > :19:49.league. We hurt, we do not like the feeling of it, we have got to handle

:19:50. > :19:58.it with dignity, and we will learn from it. How is Kurt Gidley? Nacho.

:19:59. > :20:03.We will have to check on him, he has got a lacerated eyelid, we will make

:20:04. > :20:12.sure he is OK, we will check on him, he could not come back on the field

:20:13. > :20:16.of play. Congratulations to Hull, they were terrific, they have had to

:20:17. > :20:26.do at the hard way to get here. Not much between us. Thanks, Tony.

:20:27. > :20:30.That is a really class interview. From a class club as well, the way

:20:31. > :20:35.they project the image of the game, the way they behave to the culture

:20:36. > :20:39.of the people. It is sad to say, it is tragic, isn't it? But Tony Smith

:20:40. > :20:43.absolutely encompasses that, you have to wear it on the chin.

:20:44. > :20:54.Sometimes losing makes you a better winner. All 34 players contributed

:20:55. > :20:59.to a great game, we talk about attrition, we talk about commitment

:21:00. > :21:05.and will, wanting to win. That was there in bucketloads. To go to a big

:21:06. > :21:09.game and perform is what you want. Warrington performed today, so they

:21:10. > :21:13.can go home on the bus happy, they left nothing have there on the

:21:14. > :21:19.field. They performed to near their best. But the margins were a kick, a

:21:20. > :21:24.bounce, a tackle. They were that far away from winning the game, it is

:21:25. > :21:30.frustrating for Warrington. What would you say to Ben Currie if you

:21:31. > :21:37.were his coach? Nothing, if he wants to bring up the subject, what else

:21:38. > :21:42.could he do? Unbelievable defensively. He was over the line,

:21:43. > :21:46.he thought he was on the line, the other bloke got his hand on the

:21:47. > :21:51.ball, it came loose. We had a great game, Ben Currie. He had a super

:21:52. > :21:56.game, that should not be the focus. For the first time ever at Wembley

:21:57. > :22:01.Stadium, new or old, Hull FC are going to lift the Challenge Cup,

:22:02. > :22:05.Dave Woods. They have dreamt of this, haven't

:22:06. > :22:08.they? So many generations have dreamt of this, walking up the

:22:09. > :22:15.stairs, Hull FC to lift the Challenge Cup. Gareth Ellis going up

:22:16. > :22:22.there, I am sure it is a lot easier when your side have won to climb the

:22:23. > :22:29.multitude of steps. Where am I going?! Keep going up! They wind

:22:30. > :22:36.their way one step after another, nobody at the Hull and have left.

:22:37. > :22:43.Who said they couldn't win at Wembley? Lee Radford, as he said, he

:22:44. > :22:48.was under so much pressure last year, the club kept faith with him,

:22:49. > :22:51.and that was rewarded not just with this Challenge Cup win, the

:22:52. > :22:55.Ladbrokes Challenge Cup win, but the fact that they are just minutes away

:22:56. > :23:05.from the Grand Final as well, they could do the treble this year. Here

:23:06. > :23:09.comes Gareth Ellis, the skipper. A big smile, the shake of the hands,

:23:10. > :23:13.Kevin Sinfield was in his place last year, but it is all about Gareth

:23:14. > :23:24.Ellis this year, the Black and Whites in glorious technicolour at

:23:25. > :23:28.the national stadium. He wants Danny Houghton, I think, to help them out.

:23:29. > :23:33.He is waiting for everyone else. So that they are all in this together.

:23:34. > :23:35.This is not about individual efforts, although there were some

:23:36. > :23:43.great stories in the individual efforts. It is the collective. So

:23:44. > :23:50.here he goes. They are going to have to rewrite the song, they have won

:23:51. > :24:05.at Wembley! Absolute delight, absolute joy! For

:24:06. > :24:10.Gareth Ellis and his team-mates, so many of them Hull born and bred,

:24:11. > :24:18.including who holds it a lot now, Danny Houghton. So they feel the

:24:19. > :24:22.sharpness of the delight even more, even more, because they know how

:24:23. > :24:26.that has haunted the club down the years. But not any longer. What a

:24:27. > :24:43.bunch of heroes they are. Chris Green holds it a lot, down the

:24:44. > :24:46.line it goes. They all want a touch, they'll want a kiss, they all want

:24:47. > :24:54.to be part of the celebrations. Thoroughly deserved. Hull FC are the

:24:55. > :24:56.winners, the new Wembley has had its classic final, Warrington have

:24:57. > :25:25.played their part in a game that will be long, long remembered.

:25:26. > :25:31.Jamie Peacock, you obviously work in Hull now, for the other side of

:25:32. > :25:39.Hull, but it is important for both sides of Hull, that there are so

:25:40. > :25:47.many born and bred in Hull. I am very pleased for them, me and Lee go

:25:48. > :25:51.back a long way, playing at Bradford, and he has been through

:25:52. > :25:58.difficult times. He has made difficult decisions. Listen to the

:25:59. > :26:03.reaction of the Hull fans! He made difficult decisions, and he deserves

:26:04. > :26:07.that. He has worked wonders in Hull over the last three years to get

:26:08. > :26:14.them there today. Danny Houghton with the saving tackle, Jamie Shaul

:26:15. > :26:19.with the winning try, both Hull born and bred. For those people who do

:26:20. > :26:26.not know Hull, rugby league is in the blood of everyone in the city. I

:26:27. > :26:33.am an East Hull boy, the passion of rugby league is in the city,

:26:34. > :26:36.everybody wants to be a Hull or Hull KR player. Now we are seeing them

:26:37. > :26:41.convert into champion players who win trophies, Jamie Shaul, Danny

:26:42. > :26:48.Houghton, Kirk Yeaman, what an achievement to cap that career. It

:26:49. > :26:51.is no coincidence that the sides which are winning the Super League

:26:52. > :26:56.and the Challenge Cup of a core of players who grew up in the area,

:26:57. > :26:59.because it means more to play for your hometown. Danny Houghton said

:27:00. > :27:05.that pre-match, he couldn't have said anything better about the 1%, I

:27:06. > :27:09.might just strike 1% harder than somebody who does not care about

:27:10. > :27:13.this club as much as I do. Well, wasn't that the picture we saw at

:27:14. > :27:19.the end? I find myself getting carried away with the pictures,

:27:20. > :27:25.looking at Houghton, Radford, Taylor, Washbrook, Yeaman, a

:27:26. > :27:31.wonderful experience, not just for them, but for the game as well. The

:27:32. > :27:34.effort by both sides today. When you look at the dignity of Warrington in

:27:35. > :27:39.defeat as well, the way they played their part. They played

:27:40. > :27:42.fantastically well today, great performance from them, Darrell

:27:43. > :27:46.Clark, Ben Currie, so massive performances from the Warrington

:27:47. > :27:57.side, and you feel for them. But Hull are going to celebrate. At

:27:58. > :28:01.half-time, they were going to take him out of the game, and it is so

:28:02. > :28:05.difficult to flip how you are playing, and he managed to change in

:28:06. > :28:09.the second half. We have got plenty more reaction online, more

:28:10. > :28:15.interviews, plenty more analysis as well. You will be able to watch the

:28:16. > :28:22.winning moments, particularly if you are a Hull value will be wanting to

:28:23. > :28:27.do that. It sets Hull up to win the treble, everything. , It does, and

:28:28. > :28:32.emotionally they have gone to the well in a big way, and it is

:28:33. > :28:36.interesting for rugby league fans and supporters in general - can they

:28:37. > :28:39.reenergise and get ready in the space of a week to have the same

:28:40. > :28:46.kind of form week in, week out? That is the challenge. Ryan, Jon, Jamie,

:28:47. > :28:51.thank you very much. They are about to lift the Challenge Cup in front

:28:52. > :28:56.of the sponsor's board, the confetti will go up, champagne will be

:28:57. > :28:59.popped, and the fans will not be leaving Wembley Stadium any time

:29:00. > :29:04.soon as they celebrate with the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup for the

:29:05. > :29:10.first time here at Wembley. All the reaction on the BBC Sport website,

:29:11. > :29:15.you can relive the tries. We will be back in October and November for all

:29:16. > :29:18.the international rugby coming, the four nations, Australia, New

:29:19. > :29:26.Zealand, England and Scotland. But for us, this evening, it is goodbye

:29:27. > :29:28.from us. Old blue eyes is going to players out, the Challenge Cup

:29:29. > :29:35.trophy is adorned in black and white.

:29:36. > :29:44.# I've got you # Under my skin

:29:45. > :29:51.# I've got you # Deep in the heart of me

:29:52. > :29:56.# So deep in my heart # That you are really a part of me

:29:57. > :30:05.# I've got you # Under my skin

:30:06. > :30:21.# But I've got you # Under my skin...

:30:22. > :30:33.Two class acts, they meet on the biggest stage. Sandow, rustlers over

:30:34. > :30:41.the line! # Just the thought of you makes me

:30:42. > :30:44.stop just before I begin... # To win it.

:30:45. > :30:46.# I've got you under my skin. #
