:00:38. > :00:51.COMMENTATOR: Only 36,000 population, Castleford, and many have travelled

:00:52. > :00:52.down here. Those people back in Castleford will be dancing in the

:00:53. > :01:08.streets. Beautiful play, that's a try. What a

:01:09. > :01:15.player. My word, one of the great tries here at Wembley. And there is

:01:16. > :01:26.Shaun Edwards. Surely no one will touch him, Offiah. It is over.

:01:27. > :01:34.Tomkins junior and senior. Cherry and white, blossoming again.

:01:35. > :01:41.Welcome to the DW Stadium. Wigan love the cup but if they had a bogey

:01:42. > :01:43.team in this competition it is Castleford, the Tigers winning here

:01:44. > :01:49.three times in the Challenge Cup since 1982. They are the only team

:01:50. > :01:54.to have done that and Daryl Powell's current team like the cup or so,

:01:55. > :01:59.they were finalists Kos years ago. Joining us, Acton since, Robbie

:02:00. > :02:07.Thunderball. Please do your old club is still up

:02:08. > :02:15.for the cup? Yesterday was really intense. Widnes came here to play

:02:16. > :02:20.yesterday but we got it in the end which was great to see. With the

:02:21. > :02:24.scores tied, you got the penalty, watching from the stands were you

:02:25. > :02:32.confident it was a penalty? At first I wasn't, I had to look up at the

:02:33. > :02:36.screen. Paul Cahill -- poor old Cahill, he did what the good players

:02:37. > :02:44.should do, he died on the ball but unfortunately it was a penalty. He

:02:45. > :02:49.has done it two weeks in a row. He has been a great asset to the team.

:02:50. > :02:53.He has pulled us out of the fire two weeks in a row. We will talk about

:02:54. > :02:59.him later, it was fascinating to listen to him wearing a microphone.

:03:00. > :03:09.The Castleford fans have come here with expectation. Castleford as a

:03:10. > :03:12.club are having a real renaissance. They will be expecting a lot of

:03:13. > :03:16.their team because the quality of players they have, the style of

:03:17. > :03:20.rugby league that Daryl Powell has them playing makes them very

:03:21. > :03:24.entertaining and they know that they can pull out the big games. Looking

:03:25. > :03:27.at Wigan, they are second in Super League but there by their own

:03:28. > :03:33.admission they haven't played well yet this season. Shaun Wane saying

:03:34. > :03:38.that they haven't played well today and the table doesn't lie. They are

:03:39. > :03:47.getting players back, they've had a crop of injuries, everyone is coming

:03:48. > :03:51.back now. I think he is disappointed with the stop start nature of their

:03:52. > :03:53.wins, they don't play well for long periods and he's looking forward to

:03:54. > :03:59.a time when they can play well for the full 80 minutes. The third of

:04:00. > :04:02.the quarterfinals took place at the KC Stadium with top of the table

:04:03. > :04:11.Hull FC taking on Catalan, who got off to a good start. Wonderful

:04:12. > :04:18.start, everyone has tipped them to the cup. It is the boy, Stewart,

:04:19. > :04:25.coming up with the kick for Garcia, what a way to start, 4-0, Catalan.

:04:26. > :04:29.This Hull FC team, they are peoples favourites to maybe when both

:04:30. > :04:37.trophies. There was the kick from Sneyd. Speculative try, Michaels,

:04:38. > :04:45.getting the home team back. Watch out, Frank the tank Prichard, he was

:04:46. > :04:49.brought over just to do that. Change the momentum. Scott Taylor is having

:04:50. > :04:56.a great season. Just brushing off the Catalan defenders. Many people's

:04:57. > :05:00.tip for the England hooker, Danny Houghton, finishing it off. Catalan

:05:01. > :05:13.are still trying to get themselves into it. Your heart -- Yaha scoring

:05:14. > :05:19.the try in the corner. This Hull FC team, they are very strong. They won

:05:20. > :05:24.come to be in the end. Three teams already through to the semifinals,

:05:25. > :05:30.Wakefield beating Huddersfield on Thursday and we saw Warrington

:05:31. > :05:34.beating Widnes yesterday. Will it be Wigan or Castleford joining them in

:05:35. > :05:38.the semifinal draw? We will have that at the conclusion of today's

:05:39. > :05:42.game. The two coaches have been talking to Damien Johnson.

:05:43. > :05:48.Luke Gale plays, he wasn't fit, he is fit now, a bit of mind games

:05:49. > :05:52.going on or are you taking a gamble? We thought he would be fit last week

:05:53. > :05:56.and he dropped out and similar this week to be honest. Looked like he

:05:57. > :06:00.wasn't going to make it and then he has, so it is a big boost for us.

:06:01. > :06:05.But the important player so it's great to have him back in the side.

:06:06. > :06:10.We aren't playing very well to be honest but we have shown a lot of

:06:11. > :06:13.desire and passion. We are grounding out the wins, not playing at our

:06:14. > :06:18.best but today we need to turn up against a very competent Castleford

:06:19. > :06:20.team. How much encouragement from that famous victory a couple of

:06:21. > :06:26.years ago in the Challenge Cup? History is on our side but I don't

:06:27. > :06:33.know how much it is going to count today in the Challenge Cup

:06:34. > :06:36.quarterfinal. Castleford, winning in 2014, and outstanding performance

:06:37. > :06:41.from us and it's going to take something similar, we know how good

:06:42. > :06:44.Wigan can be. But we can do it, we are capable of beating anybody

:06:45. > :06:50.anywhere, so it's just about performance. If we get it right, we

:06:51. > :06:55.can beat anybody. It's a really big injury that Sam Tomkins had, how

:06:56. > :06:58.good is it to see him playing? It is brilliant for the Super League, we

:06:59. > :07:02.want our best players, we want the star to be showing their progress.

:07:03. > :07:06.It has been a difficult injury, he was rested on the plastic pitch last

:07:07. > :07:11.week so there is still a bit of rehabilitation. I think he is slowly

:07:12. > :07:15.getting back to the kind of form we saw when he left Super League two go

:07:16. > :07:20.to the NRL with the Warriors. For many of our viewers, the last time

:07:21. > :07:24.they saw him in this country was 2013 in the Challenge Cup. He was a

:07:25. > :07:30.very spectacular player. Do you think you can get back to that

:07:31. > :07:34.level? Certainly, the form he has shown so far in his couple of games

:07:35. > :07:38.back, scary to think he can get even better. Wigan need him to be good

:07:39. > :07:42.today because I think Luke Dorn is going to be a big test for him. How

:07:43. > :07:52.important to have a character like Sam? I've been talking to Robbie, he

:07:53. > :07:55.is such a competitive guy. The injury has slowed him down a little

:07:56. > :07:59.bit but he's going to get better every week and as an opponent,

:08:00. > :08:06.that's a scary thing. You know him well. Using a very important word,

:08:07. > :08:09.competitive. He was a junior at Wigan and he was the most

:08:10. > :08:12.competitive person on the planet and your best players are the most

:08:13. > :08:16.competitive people. When you have an element of doubt with your injury,

:08:17. > :08:20.it can curtail that aggression and competitiveness. You can see him

:08:21. > :08:23.pushing and prodding people when he is at the top and in recent weeks we

:08:24. > :08:28.have seen that aggression coming back, his will to win, he wants to

:08:29. > :08:35.win everything he does. You can't teach that, can you? Definitely. He

:08:36. > :08:39.will be a key man for Wigan but he will have to keep an eye on the key

:08:40. > :08:40.man for Castleford, the winger, Solomona. His statistics have been

:08:41. > :08:52.phenomenal. COMMENTATOR: Denny Solomona with a

:08:53. > :08:58.terrific try. Feast your eyes on the Denny Solomona. He doesn't miss

:08:59. > :09:03.opportunities like that, does he? He's a try scoring machine. Oh,

:09:04. > :09:08.that's a wonderful take from Solomona.

:09:09. > :09:19.Denny Solomona has scored from a distance. Denny Solomona. From one

:09:20. > :09:23.talented player to a group of talented players.

:09:24. > :09:29.Unlike the way you can see Daryl Powell here, I like the way he gets

:09:30. > :09:33.forwards playing. They like to play aggressively, you have McMeeken

:09:34. > :09:37.there, Millington, these guys like promoting the ball when they get it

:09:38. > :09:42.in their hands. I want you to watch this big guy here, Moors, very

:09:43. > :09:46.difficult when he has the ball in his hands, causing the defence a lot

:09:47. > :09:53.of problems. The man warning up with him, Luke Gale, Pete didn't get on

:09:54. > :09:58.the field last year but he is a management is amazing that smack

:09:59. > :10:01.warming up with him, he didn't get on the field.

:10:02. > :10:11.Just going to see if I can talk to Denny Solomona. I think we prepared

:10:12. > :10:15.well, the boys came into the game well prepared and I think we've got

:10:16. > :10:19.a big job ahead of us. The highest try scorer in the Super League, can

:10:20. > :10:23.you get over the line today? I hope so, if I do my job right and the

:10:24. > :10:31.boys do, there are points to be taken. All the very best.

:10:32. > :10:36.How difficult is he to stop? One of the best finishers in Super League

:10:37. > :10:48.and in the world. We were talking about how he changes hands, he knows

:10:49. > :10:51.where he is going to dive, you can't teach that. How do you see him

:10:52. > :10:59.developing under the coaching of Daryl Powell? With his budget he has

:11:00. > :11:03.a couple of people from London, he is developing, the things he is

:11:04. > :11:08.doing is attracting attention. He loves it at Castleford. Some

:11:09. > :11:13.pressure to Webster, giving him the space to do the kind of fabulous

:11:14. > :11:18.stuff we see him doing. Very exciting to watch. He is only 22 but

:11:19. > :11:20.Wigan have put faith in youth themselves, no more so than a young

:11:21. > :11:40.George Williams. COMMENTATOR: Going to step, George

:11:41. > :11:46.Williams. And he gets over the line. The running game, one of my main

:11:47. > :11:52.attributes in the game. If I'm running well, in slow from that, my

:11:53. > :11:59.passing game becomes easier, my kicking game. If I'm running, I feel

:12:00. > :12:02.more confident in myself. I always believed in myself but some of the

:12:03. > :12:06.things that came up, the young Player of the Year, playing for

:12:07. > :12:15.England, I was blown away by it and it was a massive roller-coaster. I

:12:16. > :12:20.started with a needle, and injury in my back, but I'm hoping to do what I

:12:21. > :12:27.did last year and put in some good performances -- eight niggle. Makes

:12:28. > :12:35.me smile thinking about it. That's all wanted to do, play for England.

:12:36. > :12:47.I did it so young, I was so proud. Very big presence in the room.

:12:48. > :12:53.Castleford are a great team, they will bring some flow to the game,

:12:54. > :12:56.they like to throw the ball around and they have some players in form

:12:57. > :13:05.who are going to job loss if we aren't careful. -- who are going to

:13:06. > :13:11.trouble us. How important has George Williams become to this Wigan side?

:13:12. > :13:17.Alongside Smith, they both have to work seamlessly, move the ball

:13:18. > :13:21.around the park and glue it together with the strikers around the edges.

:13:22. > :13:26.A lot to fall on a young man's soldiers, it can be nothing but good

:13:27. > :13:31.for him, especially with his eyes on the international place. How

:13:32. > :13:39.important is Smith? The perfect foil, and Tompkins makes it a magic

:13:40. > :13:44.mix. George is a great foil for Matty and they are both primed for a

:13:45. > :13:47.big match. They have the big guns, O'Loughlin is out there as well.

:13:48. > :13:53.Will we see a more familiar Wigan? I think so, he is the emotional

:13:54. > :14:00.leader, the captain, when he comes on, they lift their game, so look

:14:01. > :14:04.for a big game from him today. That's part of the gamesmanship,

:14:05. > :14:10.Luke Dorn, from the coach's point of view but he is a big way for them --

:14:11. > :14:16.Luke Gale. With him on the field they can beat any other team. What

:14:17. > :14:19.is going to be the key? If Castleford get all 17 players

:14:20. > :14:23.playing, they can play, I'm going to back them. They have belief that

:14:24. > :14:26.they can do it, from a couple of years ago. I think that they are the

:14:27. > :14:31.underdogs but they have the ruthlessness and the fearlessness,

:14:32. > :14:35.playing as they feel free and if they play that kind of rugby, Wigan

:14:36. > :14:40.may come unstuck. The two teams are in the tunnel so we will take you up

:14:41. > :14:49.to the commentary box with Brian Noble and Jonathan Davies and Dave

:14:50. > :14:55.Woods. COMMENTATOR: It is a mighty roar that greets them, there is the

:14:56. > :14:59.potential for a really big cup tie. Both teams are capable of scaling

:15:00. > :15:06.the heights of quality rugby league and if they both hit the mark, it

:15:07. > :15:11.could be a cracker. Castleford have travelled with high expectations and

:15:12. > :15:15.in big numbers here today. They have recent Challenge Cup final history,

:15:16. > :15:20.as do Wigan. They both have plenty of confidence, Castleford have Luke

:15:21. > :15:25.Gale back from injury. We thought he would be missing but he is playing

:15:26. > :15:30.today and that's a boost for them. And Sean O'Loughlin for Wigan, big

:15:31. > :15:37.boost for them as well. The young mascots enjoying their moment here.

:15:38. > :15:44.There will be an element of nervousness from both teams' point

:15:45. > :15:48.of view because it is a huge opportunity, Hull FC, Wakefield,

:15:49. > :15:52.Warrington, already there. The draw is straight after we finished here,

:15:53. > :15:57.for the semifinal. In the time-honoured words, will it be

:15:58. > :16:04.Wigan or will it be Castleford who join them?

:16:05. > :16:14.So, here is the way they are lining up today. Wigan, Sam Tomkins and his

:16:15. > :16:22.brother Joel returning, Joel is on the bench. O'Loughlin's return after

:16:23. > :16:28.injury is a massive boost, he is an important part of the Wigan machine.

:16:29. > :16:38.Shaun Wane, the coach. There's the referee, Chris Campbell. The is new

:16:39. > :16:47.to the ranks of senior referees but he's making a good reputation -- he

:16:48. > :16:50.is new. Castleford, Luke Gale not named in the 19 man squad but they

:16:51. > :16:55.are relieved he has recovered from his ankle injury to play today and

:16:56. > :16:59.they have the back row in Moors and McMeeken, arguably as good as

:17:00. > :17:01.anything in the game. Castleford with the early touch, so let's talk

:17:02. > :17:15.to Brian Noble and Jonathan Davies. I think it's going to be very

:17:16. > :17:18.interesting coming to this stadium, always very difficult. Castleford

:17:19. > :17:24.are playing with a lot of confidence and it will be a huge boost for them

:17:25. > :17:28.that Luke Gale is playing, he is the general, orchestrating things for

:17:29. > :17:35.them around the pitch. That's important but as you mention, Sean

:17:36. > :17:39.O'Loughlin, so much for this Wigan team, the link between the forwards

:17:40. > :17:42.and the backs. Castleford will be worried about coming here and

:17:43. > :17:48.playing, a terrific record and the brand of football they have played,

:17:49. > :17:53.they have three world-class players who are out but it doesn't seem to

:17:54. > :17:59.have affected them. Early touch from Sam Tomkins, interesting to see what

:18:00. > :18:05.influence he will have. One of those, casual observers will say,

:18:06. > :18:11.what, Millington playing but we have seen him playing several times in

:18:12. > :18:16.the halves and he was outstanding against Salford that day. He plays

:18:17. > :18:21.like a forward, he makes the yardage, the takes the ball to the

:18:22. > :18:31.line. Drive inside the Castleford half. Powell is at dummy half. Back

:18:32. > :18:35.to Smith, who puts it high. Monaghan is under it, Joel Monaghan, formerly

:18:36. > :18:39.of Warrington, where he had plenty of Challenge Cup success and

:18:40. > :18:43.experience. That was an easy catch for him. They need to click better

:18:44. > :18:48.than that, Wigan, to put Castleford under pressure. Both teams' kicking

:18:49. > :18:51.game is going to be important because trap door football, you

:18:52. > :18:56.don't come back to play next week, so you've got to get it right on the

:18:57. > :19:03.day. Late change for Castleford, Greg Minikin has come in, in place

:19:04. > :19:13.of Jake Webster. A very late change to the Castleford team. So there was

:19:14. > :19:17.an element of disruption. That's a big blow for Castleford because

:19:18. > :19:22.Webster has been one very good form and Denny Solomona, getting the

:19:23. > :19:32.benefits of what he's been doing. He's a great foil, reminds me of the

:19:33. > :19:37.days of Martin Offiah, who always got the accolades, and showed he

:19:38. > :19:43.had, but Wright put him over the number of tries -- put him over for

:19:44. > :19:49.a number of tries. A big blow for Castleford but they have a very

:19:50. > :19:53.dangerous back three. Two magnificent back threes. The quality

:19:54. > :19:54.of the finishing is very high if the opportunities are there for them.

:19:55. > :20:03.Just from he is a chance now for a winger,

:20:04. > :20:09.Manfredi to stretch the Castleford defence. Five tackles gone, here

:20:10. > :20:15.comes the last, Sam Tomkins spinning it back to Matty Smith. Behind the

:20:16. > :20:19.line, but Moynahan and Crooks are there together to collect and safely

:20:20. > :20:23.bring it away. Damien Johnson, what news from the touchline? An update

:20:24. > :20:30.on Jake Webster, he has been struggling with a hamstring injury,

:20:31. > :20:34.he has tweaked it in the warm up, so Winnie King -- soap Minikin comes

:20:35. > :20:38.in, reason the on loan from Batley, so a big day for him. He made his

:20:39. > :20:44.debut against Leeds and he made a very early impact, scoring a couple

:20:45. > :20:50.of tries on his birthday in Catalan the week after as well. The young

:20:51. > :20:56.lad from York. He won't be fazed by this today. Castleford, not fazed

:20:57. > :21:01.either as they bring it forward through Massey. Takes it just inside

:21:02. > :21:07.the Wigan half. He's had a big season, Moors. He's been absolutely

:21:08. > :21:10.fabulous and in a season when Denny Solomona is getting the headlines

:21:11. > :21:15.with Luke Gale, I think that Moors is crucial to what this Castleford

:21:16. > :21:20.team want to achieve. Trying to make things happen on the right-hand side

:21:21. > :21:26.with Sam Tomkins leading things off. But it's back towards the middle. It

:21:27. > :21:29.is a big pack, Sutton is playing in the second row for Wigan. He's been

:21:30. > :21:34.playing right second row for the last couple of games, so that is

:21:35. > :21:43.adding a bit of muscle. He's a big boy. Powell is at dummy half.

:21:44. > :21:48.Flowers survived a date with the disciplinary panel this week. It

:21:49. > :21:51.enabled him to play. O'Loughlin spinning back to Smith, getting the

:21:52. > :21:56.pass away and suddenly they are streaking through, Sam Tomkins has

:21:57. > :22:00.Sarginson on the right-hand side. Sarginson can't help but score in

:22:01. > :22:06.the corner. It's a thrilling start from a Wigan point of view. Minutes

:22:07. > :22:10.have been played. The referee is pointing his finger, Sarginson the

:22:11. > :22:14.scorer. I mentioned at the top of the show how important getting their

:22:15. > :22:19.players back, and Sean O'Loughlin is pivotal for Wigan. He is the fulcrum

:22:20. > :22:24.of the movement, going around the middle, going out the back and they

:22:25. > :22:31.released the second row. Going straight through the hole that

:22:32. > :22:40.Castleford didn't fill up properly. Supporting and it's the easy finish.

:22:41. > :22:46.Lovely play. Again, O'Loughlin coming in, Kevin Smith the space.

:22:47. > :22:55.That's a lovely run, so many numbers over here. That's a very easy

:22:56. > :22:59.finish. So well created by Wigan. He's going to be one of the England

:23:00. > :23:04.players abroad again next year, going to Australia for the Gold

:23:05. > :23:09.Coast, Sarginson. Sam Tomkins having just come back from the NRL, of

:23:10. > :23:18.course. This is his first Challenge Cup game since his return. Since the

:23:19. > :23:22.final in 2013. Matty Smith is tasked with the duty of trying to take this

:23:23. > :23:30.convergence from a difficult and distance touchline. -- distant.

:23:31. > :23:41.Gazing in concentration. Here comes Smith, to try and add the two to the

:23:42. > :23:47.four. Giving it plenty of welly but... Yes, I thought he had dragged

:23:48. > :23:53.it across but it goes through, the flags go up and Wigan are leading

:23:54. > :23:57.6-0. They need to change the goggles you are wearing, I think they went

:23:58. > :24:01.through the middle! They are doing this play all the time, you know

:24:02. > :24:06.it's coming. It is the right delivery to the right person, it is

:24:07. > :24:10.very difficult to stop. That's a simple but effective play and they

:24:11. > :24:13.have scored so many tries from it. Picking the right manner and

:24:14. > :24:17.Sarginson just goes through the gap. It's all about the execution, if

:24:18. > :24:22.people show up in the right place, they pretty much guaranteed the

:24:23. > :24:27.overlap because of the numbers. The defence has to be very, very good.

:24:28. > :24:34.Cries for a penalty for Wigan, but none given. Sarginson has stayed

:24:35. > :24:37.down. Looking a little bit heavy limbed, but Wigan are in possession

:24:38. > :24:41.and looking to bring it clear. Looking to batter their way down the

:24:42. > :24:49.middle. Mossop putting his big weight and determination. O'Loughlin

:24:50. > :24:55.can do the subtle stuff but he can put in the big minutes down the

:24:56. > :25:00.middle as well. Are we going to see the first touch here for Solomona?

:25:01. > :25:08.Luke Dorn collect set on the bounce but here is Solomona. The chasing

:25:09. > :25:11.players shouldn't let him through. Michael Monaghan, Luke Dorn and

:25:12. > :25:15.Denny Solomona, that's a pretty impressive trio bringing the ball

:25:16. > :25:20.back. Wigan themselves with Charlie, Tomkins and Manfredi don't lack

:25:21. > :25:25.prowess in that department and it may come down to which back three

:25:26. > :25:29.has the best day-to-day. Minikin getting a touch. Luke Gale with the

:25:30. > :25:36.kick, from being behind the 40 but it is stuck in the corner. Sam

:25:37. > :25:40.Tomkins have two -- has to pick it up. Some heavy Labour for him.

:25:41. > :25:49.Passing it to Charlie, who is put down. The early kick from Passover

:25:50. > :25:54.-- Charnley. -- early kick from Castleford. The pitch is only five

:25:55. > :26:03.weeks old, so they were watering it heavily before the game so it may

:26:04. > :26:11.skid into touch. Sarginson looking wide. Gildart, we will be in the

:26:12. > :26:19.Co-op is that later today because he's going to help us with the for

:26:20. > :26:24.the semifinal -- we will be with his father later today.

:26:25. > :26:31.The full-back and win a close in, Solomona collecting it. Again it is

:26:32. > :26:36.an efficient chase from those in Cherry and Whites. Look where they

:26:37. > :26:42.completed the set, a good exit and then it's in their own 20 again.

:26:43. > :26:49.Castleford will be hoping that they get a penalty here to lift their

:26:50. > :26:53.efforts to get downfield. Wigan are just smothering them at the moment.

:26:54. > :27:03.But here's a fellow who can make difference, Moors. Not this time.

:27:04. > :27:06.McShane back inside. Jewitt, who lives up the road from here and

:27:07. > :27:09.broke Wigan Haas a couple of years ago when Castleford came here and

:27:10. > :27:14.won on their way to Wembley. They get the penalty they were hoping

:27:15. > :27:18.for. I think that discipline is important, especially for

:27:19. > :27:22.Castleford. If Wigan give them free field position it will be much

:27:23. > :27:28.easier for the team that innocence are the underdogs, who need every

:27:29. > :27:30.break, every 50-50 to go their way. Wigan are very structured and

:27:31. > :27:39.organised when they are playing at this stadium. Well, here they go.

:27:40. > :27:41.Last night's results, a fewer errors, discipline, giving them

:27:42. > :27:48.possession and the penalty winning the game at the end. Patrick, who

:27:49. > :27:55.was at Wigan last year on loan. Now full-time at Castleford. Ten metres

:27:56. > :28:02.away, Castleford with their best field position so far in the cup

:28:03. > :28:09.tie. Dorn is trying to add... Great tackle. Great tackle, I thought it

:28:10. > :28:22.was over. Running so well, Dorn, creating the extra man. It was a

:28:23. > :28:29.very messy ruck. It wasn't a very well taken play the ball. Massey,

:28:30. > :28:37.setting up the platform again. Options right and left, McShane

:28:38. > :28:43.picks up. Dorn with the delayed pass to Crooks, who goes over the line. I

:28:44. > :28:47.don't think he's got it down. Brilliant defence once again. Great

:28:48. > :28:53.play by Castleford, the extra man, Luke Dorn was there again. He offers

:28:54. > :29:00.so much, he was so quick. You can't allow him to run across, he sucks in

:29:01. > :29:06.the defenders. Millington, he can do that job as well, as well as playing

:29:07. > :29:16.in the pivotal role. McShane running from dummy half. Gale is offering it

:29:17. > :29:22.to Moors, who is destructive. Millington's hands let him down. You

:29:23. > :29:28.just said he was the best in the world and he's built it. He was

:29:29. > :29:34.through then as well. Finding the opening for Millington. Though it

:29:35. > :29:38.does really well, passing the ball. But a great opportunity then, the

:29:39. > :29:43.Castleford team. --. A great opportunity.

:29:44. > :29:50.Every reason to want to get back to Wembley, Millington, after he missed

:29:51. > :29:55.the final a couple of years ago because of a knee injury. He has

:29:56. > :30:01.that extra hunger and drive. But it is Wigan who lead at the moment with

:30:02. > :30:04.12 other half minutes played. It is a fantastic place to play. A

:30:05. > :30:18.memorable day in anybody's career. Powell, looking inside. Wigan are

:30:19. > :30:22.looking to the outside backs to get them a few extra yards here.

:30:23. > :30:28.Manfredi with the initial drive and here comes Gildart. That's good play

:30:29. > :30:34.from the Wigan backs. Penalty. He was going to do it the time before

:30:35. > :30:39.because they were hanging around the ruck. The referee was just looking,

:30:40. > :30:45.the gamble to give the penalty. Jewitt was hanging on for dear life.

:30:46. > :30:49.It is difficult for the forwards. The backs are quicker, they tried to

:30:50. > :30:50.play the ball more quickly. They hold them down and that's where the

:30:51. > :31:07.penalties come from. They make no secret of which way

:31:08. > :31:09.they're going, Wigan. 20 metres' way. Powell spinning it left.

:31:10. > :31:21.Williams involved. Back to Tomkins. He shakes off the attempted tackle

:31:22. > :31:26.and will slide along that plush green surface to score Wigan's

:31:27. > :31:35.second try and already they're getting a stranglehold on this game.

:31:36. > :31:41.Getting there Tom wins. He has always had awesome strength. He

:31:42. > :31:45.picks out Williams there. Millington, wle slips or can't quite

:31:46. > :31:53.get there but he is pushed through the tackle. He just can't get there.

:31:54. > :31:57.And goes too high. That's the up with huge disadvantage when you have

:31:58. > :32:01.a prop-standoff player. He exposes him one on one and whatever you do

:32:02. > :32:07.you have to get a good hit on this kid. He is deceptively strong. Very,

:32:08. > :32:11.very quick. You have to get a hit on thim him. That's the problem. If you

:32:12. > :32:18.have a yard off you are stretching for the neck and you are away. Sam

:32:19. > :32:23.Tom kins made his debut in this competition when he scored five

:32:24. > :32:26.tries against Whitehaven in 2008. Brian remembers that day because? I

:32:27. > :32:34.was the coach. You were the coach. You picked him. I did. That's where

:32:35. > :32:38.it all started. Vp Matty Smith with a much simpler

:32:39. > :32:43.conversion attempt this time in front of the sticks. This doesn't

:32:44. > :32:51.cause any problems. It's two out of two for him and Wigan lead by 12-0.

:32:52. > :32:56.It's two missed tackles, two tries. We said the finishing prowess of

:32:57. > :33:05.both sides. Watch. He loops at the back. It's a late ball out the back.

:33:06. > :33:16.Shrugs off the tackle because he just can't get there. He is not far

:33:17. > :33:20.away from where we are, Sean Wayne. He was saying Castleford were

:33:21. > :33:26.talking themselves up and wanting to win this competition. A slight edge

:33:27. > :33:31.in his answers before the match. Wigan muscling up again here.

:33:32. > :33:34.Castleford needing a response quickly.

:33:35. > :33:39.Needing to get themselves in the game here. There's a little hint of

:33:40. > :33:43.a danger of Wigan running away with it in these early stages with a

:33:44. > :33:49.score they have just now. Williams again with a dummy. This time it is

:33:50. > :33:56.dealt with. And dragged down. MacShane, the defender.

:33:57. > :34:03.Isa. Back to O'Loughlin, to Tomkins. Sam Tomkins wide to Sarginson.

:34:04. > :34:09.They're stretching at the moment. Smith on the - he will send it high.

:34:10. > :34:18.Monaghan underneath it and a safe pair of hands. A great take. Had a

:34:19. > :34:21.hamstring injury, Monaghan, of late. Yeah, it's restricted him a little

:34:22. > :34:25.bit. You put yourself out on the field and the opposition aren't

:34:26. > :34:28.going to let you off a little bit because they've a injury, if they

:34:29. > :34:35.think it's a flaw they'll pepper him. Is that what happens? Of

:34:36. > :34:40.course. Terrible game, ruthless! No Someone's hurt or tired you run at

:34:41. > :34:48.them. How rude! Castleford. One tackle to go here. MacShane.

:34:49. > :34:51.Back to Gale. Down field. Tomkins this time, shouldn't be under

:34:52. > :34:54.pressure. Catches it. Sees what options are and realises he will

:34:55. > :35:01.have to run it straight at the line and take the tackle. Castleford will

:35:02. > :35:08.have to braeng the bank at some stage and be more expansive. I don't

:35:09. > :35:14.- I think they're a big strong machine when they want to be. They

:35:15. > :35:18.chew up the territory and all of a sudden they're at your end of the

:35:19. > :35:22.field. They vice-president had the opportunity. Wigan's game plan's

:35:23. > :35:27.been very good. Just complete the set and there is a good kick. Once

:35:28. > :35:33.again, he is receiving the ball. Find the grass. The chase is good.

:35:34. > :35:37.There is a real efficiency about Wigan.

:35:38. > :35:41.A real efficiency about the way they're playing. That's a great word

:35:42. > :35:46.to use in relation to how they go about their business. Here is Gale.

:35:47. > :35:50.It's up to Castleford to disrupt the rhythm.

:35:51. > :35:51.At the moment they're being stifled. Monaghan pops up on that left-hand

:35:52. > :36:04.side. Now it comes back to the middle.

:36:05. > :36:09.Penalty for Castleford. That will give them a lift. Yeah, that will.

:36:10. > :36:15.They seem to struggle to get the yardage. But this will give them

:36:16. > :36:21.field position. This is where they need a chance their arm now. The

:36:22. > :36:25.last three occasions they've been rocking the ball out of their own

:36:26. > :36:28.half. They've had to rely on a penalty. The kicks haven't been as

:36:29. > :36:33.good as Wigan kicks. They haven't been bad but they've been neutral,

:36:34. > :36:39.if that's the right word. This penalty will give them decent field

:36:40. > :36:44.position. A double change here. Patrick and Jewitt have come off and

:36:45. > :36:49.Holmes and Tickle have come on. Another penalty for Castleford.

:36:50. > :36:53.Back-to-back penalties. The significance of that, an

:36:54. > :36:58.ex-Wigan player, Tickle and Holmes playing a first game for 15 weeks. I

:36:59. > :37:05.think his last game was a league game here. He is a good player. If

:37:06. > :37:10.he is anywhere near fit he had add a lot to this team. They've lost

:37:11. > :37:15.Roberts and Webster not playing today. Lynch, who is a linchpin

:37:16. > :37:21.literally for their team. They've manufactured a style of football

:37:22. > :37:28.that really suits them. The last round when they had injuries... Here

:37:29. > :37:33.is Gale. The pass is a good one! Solomona. Is it one of those rare

:37:34. > :37:42.occasions when he has been given an opportunity and might have spilled

:37:43. > :37:47.it? In back play has Luke Dorn been critically injured here? The referee

:37:48. > :37:53.wants a look at the shoulder charge. Lots of issues here. Let's hand it

:37:54. > :37:58.over to the video referee Robert Hicks.

:37:59. > :38:01.We will check whether there is a collision, whether it's possible

:38:02. > :38:06.shoulder contact or possible high tackle. That looks OK. Although it

:38:07. > :38:11.goes off the screen. Have you got that slower?

:38:12. > :38:18.That's a bit tight to see. I can see it from the other side, if that's

:38:19. > :38:21.possible, please and slow if we can. It's come down and there is is

:38:22. > :38:25.contact with the head. The first one is the best one, please. It's off

:38:26. > :38:31.the shoulder first. There is some contact. So, Dorn has the ball. As

:38:32. > :38:35.he off-loads there is a tackle and contact with the shoulder with the

:38:36. > :38:39.head but it's come off Dorn's shoulder so it will be a penalty if

:38:40. > :38:46.it's not a try. Can we now check the grounding, please?

:38:47. > :38:50.We are checking at touch and go. Solomona has the ball in hand. He

:38:51. > :39:02.has it still. He is in the air there. He is still in the air. He is

:39:03. > :39:07.touching goal. It will be no try. First is penalty for high tackle.

:39:08. > :39:11.So, no try. There is a full and frank

:39:12. > :39:17.explanation. No try quite clearly but the high tackle is going to give

:39:18. > :39:26.Castleford a penalty here. What about that tackle from Tomkins?

:39:27. > :39:30.Sarginson and Tomkins somehow got across. Boom, they come across and

:39:31. > :39:38.whack him into touch. That's fabulous. Nine times out of ten he

:39:39. > :39:41.scores then. I don't think Manfredi's tackle system high play.

:39:42. > :39:49.He wraps his arm arched the ball carrier. Luke Dorn takes the hit and

:39:50. > :39:54.offloads. In normal speed it's a brilliant tackle. Two great tackle

:39:55. > :40:00.thes. Great play by Castleford. Great play all round. After all of

:40:01. > :40:04.that it remains 12-0. Castleford in excellent attacking position. What

:40:05. > :40:09.do they make of of this? The crowd is fired up as well. Oliver Holmes.

:40:10. > :40:18.An early carry. As far as his inclusion in this game is concerned.

:40:19. > :40:28.Millington can't get it away. A good effort in defence by Isa. Tomkins is

:40:29. > :40:34.on the field. Tickle again now. It's a loose pass. It's picked up by

:40:35. > :40:40.Holmes. Gale. Options closed down. They wrapped around him. Good play

:40:41. > :40:44.Sarginson. Spots the problem and closes Gale down. Tickle barging it

:40:45. > :40:50.in. This now will be the last play in this set.

:40:51. > :40:58.Gale again. Flick it is through. Taken by Tomkins. Takes the tackle.

:40:59. > :41:02.He is back in his area. Great last play from Gale. They couldn't get

:41:03. > :41:07.through this magnificent Wigan defence. First on millington and

:41:08. > :41:12.then on Gale. Then the kick comes through and Tomkins sweeps it up.

:41:13. > :41:18.Great chase from Gale to complete the tackle. That's what they have to

:41:19. > :41:22.do. They've been knocking at Wigan's try-line but the defence has been

:41:23. > :41:28.brilliant. They have to try in the repeat set and run against a tiring

:41:29. > :41:35.defence. There's loads to admire at the moment. Smith, that's a long

:41:36. > :41:46.kick but Tickle back and collects. And looks up. And runs it back.

:41:47. > :41:51.Holmes was with us on BBC radio on Thursday night, Oliver Holmes and he

:41:52. > :41:56.was saying he would be playing this match on adrenalin having not played

:41:57. > :42:04.for 15 weeks. That match fitness must be missing but adrenalin gets

:42:05. > :42:08.you through on occasions like this. Gale up to the line. Out wide. You

:42:09. > :42:13.with it was a wild forward pass from Luke Dorn. The space was closed down

:42:14. > :42:20.quickly. Again very good play by Sarginson. He spots it, runs in,

:42:21. > :42:27.puts pressure on Darn. I like this player, he is an exciting fullback,

:42:28. > :42:37.Dorn. The threat into the line is very, very good. He got spooked

:42:38. > :42:41.really. It was up and in play from the centre that made him pass the

:42:42. > :42:46.ball early. He has done it a few times. Dorn has to give himself

:42:47. > :42:52.depth now to suck Sarginson in and get someone on the outside of him.

:42:53. > :43:00.Don't forget by the way the draw is on after this game has finished.

:43:01. > :43:04.Semifinal draw. The Rugby League forum as well is on after we finish

:43:05. > :43:25.here. Contact us the usual way. Up to the halfway line. Powell.

:43:26. > :43:28.Smith. Tautai on from the bench. Only started once in his career. I

:43:29. > :43:32.think he is what you call an impact player. He looks like an impact

:43:33. > :43:36.player with the hair bobbing around on the back of his head.

:43:37. > :43:49.A real eye-catcher in that respect, at the very least.

:43:50. > :43:55.Castleford again dominating territory and the rest of it. But

:43:56. > :44:04.they're very much behind on the scoreboard by 12-0.

:44:05. > :44:10.Millington bumping it in. A couple of tackles still to go. MacShane out

:44:11. > :44:15.here back to Gale who was calling for it. Now they've numbers again.

:44:16. > :44:23.Minamisanriku trying to cut back inside. -- Minikin.

:44:24. > :44:28.That was never safe. The last play, but a knock-on from

:44:29. > :44:32.Greg Minikin before he can play it. As Brian said earlier, thae the way

:44:33. > :44:37.to play against Wigan, especially when you have someone like Gale and

:44:38. > :44:41.Dorn there working together. They're getting the yards out. Not getting

:44:42. > :44:53.any change in the middle against the Wigan pack. There is the mistake.

:44:54. > :45:00.Some welcome time off here. Both sides, Gale just putting a finger in

:45:01. > :45:03.his air to his team-mates. One minute here. Let's keep them here

:45:04. > :45:10.will be the call from that Castleford defence.

:45:11. > :45:17.19 times Challenge Cup winners Wigan. It's a record. Of course,

:45:18. > :45:23.they wrote their name large in Cup legend between 1988 and 95 when they

:45:24. > :45:30.won it eight times in succession. Brian and myself were on the wrong

:45:31. > :45:33.side of that, as well! There was a time when you would start a season

:45:34. > :45:38.asking the question I wonder who will be at Wembley with Wigan this

:45:39. > :45:43.year? We would sit there watching as a player hoping they get knocked out

:45:44. > :45:48.Or you got signed for Wigan! If you played well against Wigan they

:45:49. > :45:53.usually signed you then. 6th tackle coming up. Smith will send it down

:45:54. > :46:00.the field. It's out of play, is it? It will be now. Didn't you play them

:46:01. > :46:05.in a semifinal once, Brian. You are going to remind me of that. And the

:46:06. > :46:13.drop goal in amongst the rest of the mayhem. At what point in the game

:46:14. > :46:20.was that dropped goal? I don't know. They went 1-0 up, I think. 1-0 and

:46:21. > :46:22.added the 70 later. They were in a tough game for about three minutes!

:46:23. > :46:26.This game is about opportunities at the moment for me. Wigan have had

:46:27. > :46:31.two and ex-computed in the right parts of the field. We have seen

:46:32. > :46:38.Castleford here, who are trying to be expansive and they play a super

:46:39. > :46:43.brand of football. You have to take your opportunities and execute your

:46:44. > :46:50.plays at the right moment when it's track goal football. Gale over the

:46:51. > :46:57.top. Minikin has space to run. Minikin trying to bustle through. He

:46:58. > :47:05.is stopped. Dorn was there again. Sarginson was in. Tickle trying to

:47:06. > :47:12.go down the middle. Powell and Tautai holding on. 6th

:47:13. > :47:16.tackle. Charnley is underneath that. Monaghan blocked out. They'll follow

:47:17. > :47:20.up and push Charnley. I think he stayed in the field of

:47:21. > :47:31.play. It was a brilliant kick, right. But very, very good play also

:47:32. > :47:40.by the Wigan centre. Looking after his fullback.

:47:41. > :47:57.Called it a high shot. Yeah. A clumsy tackle. It's a penalty.

:47:58. > :48:04.Matte Smith will find touch. Touch judge will wave the flag to say game

:48:05. > :48:17.restarts on the 20-metre mark. Good shot. I felt that one here! Getting

:48:18. > :48:22.involved again here millington. A big shift in millington, especially

:48:23. > :48:27.when he expects to make the... Oh, Tautai rips a hole through the

:48:28. > :48:34.defence and off he goes. Dorn slows him up enough. Minikin gets back to

:48:35. > :48:43.complete the tackle. High Court to the right side. Solomona as attempt

:48:44. > :48:47.didn't stop him. It's taken on by Manfredi. Two tackles in this set to

:48:48. > :48:52.go. Wigan pressing hard. Smith over the top to Powell.

:48:53. > :48:58.Along the lines to Gildart. Gildart trying to make things happen.

:48:59. > :49:02.Dragged down by Crooks. Now Charnley will go from dummy half and ducks

:49:03. > :49:11.between Crooks and Monaghan and will have the try. That is not the most

:49:12. > :49:18.spectacular try on his CV but they all count. A really effective finish

:49:19. > :49:22.from Charnley and Wigan pushing themselves further ahead. The

:49:23. > :49:28.difference at the moment is the try line defence. That's the difference.

:49:29. > :49:32.Opportunities are very equal between these two sides but unfortunately a

:49:33. > :49:39.missed tackle and they paid the price for it. Great break and he is

:49:40. > :49:46.away. The impact player makes an impact. He is just here. They'll be

:49:47. > :49:52.- they had done the hard work, Castleford, they had got the damage

:49:53. > :49:58.limitation in in order and they let - they all count. It's Monaghan and

:49:59. > :50:06.unfortunately they just Ben Crooks can't stop Charnley. A low body

:50:07. > :50:11.position. They all count. They're team killers. Teams don't like

:50:12. > :50:15.conceding those kind of tries. It was mentioned about the try line

:50:16. > :50:21.defence. We have seen Wigan on both sides of the field desperate. You

:50:22. > :50:29.have to be desperate if you want to go to a Challenge Cup final. . Three

:50:30. > :50:33.tackles and three tries down. They've created more opportunities

:50:34. > :50:39.than Wigan pup they haven't got over the whitewash. It's all about being

:50:40. > :50:45.clinical and Wigan have been very, very clinical so far. Matte Smith

:50:46. > :50:52.settles himself for another of these. A conversion attempt.

:50:53. > :50:56.Some reflection of how many close games Wigan have been involved in

:50:57. > :51:00.this year, not only are they one of the lowest scoring sides in

:51:01. > :51:04.superleague but this fella Matte Smith has banged over six or seven

:51:05. > :51:07.dropped goals this year. They know how to win games and what's needed

:51:08. > :51:12.at particular times in the game. Here he comes. Starts it left. It

:51:13. > :51:18.drifts towards the middle. Stays on that path and over it goes. Three

:51:19. > :51:24.out of three. 18 points-0 now Wigan lead. He might not look it but he is

:51:25. > :51:32.a satisfied coach, Sean Wayne. They're grinding out the right parts

:51:33. > :51:37.of the feemd and getting there. Every member of the team had got

:51:38. > :51:41.back on to their goalline. They were propping expecting the kick and

:51:42. > :51:47.clocked off. Really important that Castleford score next from their

:51:48. > :51:58.point of view and from the game's point of view. At this stage this is

:51:59. > :52:04.a recoverable position. But they can't allow Wigan to grind on from

:52:05. > :52:13.here. Sarginson ducking. The next goal is crucial in this match. Here

:52:14. > :52:18.comes Williams and now it's a chance for Gildart to take on Ben Crooks

:52:19. > :52:21.again. It's a fascinating subplot to the game, that battle that's going

:52:22. > :52:26.on with those two young English centres.

:52:27. > :52:32.Gildart is winning it at the moment. That's it. Look where they are

:52:33. > :52:37.again. Tomkins. They're in the Castleford half putting the kick in.

:52:38. > :52:47.Looking for a bit of space down the field. Picked up by Solomona.

:52:48. > :52:54.He is managed the offload. That's well worked. Luke Dorn can take

:52:55. > :53:05.Castleford a good ten yards further down the field.

:53:06. > :53:26.Milner is another one that's arrived from the bench. Gildart wrestling

:53:27. > :53:33.him down. Crooks has lost the ball in the tackle. It's going to be

:53:34. > :53:43.Wigan's. They both have famous father. There be two proud dads

:53:44. > :53:51.looking on, as well. I I played with both players. Who was the best?

:53:52. > :53:57.That's not very nice! Well, I think Lee Crooks played in Australia a few

:53:58. > :54:01.times for the NRL and played for Great Britain. Test matches, goal

:54:02. > :54:08.kicks, he probably has the higher profile. Ian Gildart didn't. I would

:54:09. > :54:12.suggest Lee Crooks is the best prop, and Gildart the best forward. That's

:54:13. > :54:31.a loaded question. That's taken on a stride or two by

:54:32. > :54:40.Joe Bretherton. That's a high tackle. As we mentioned earlier,

:54:41. > :54:50.Gildart joining us for that draw later. -- Ian Gildart. Again, no

:54:51. > :54:55.field position from the tackle. This is crucial for Castleford. They've

:54:56. > :55:00.to defend. A big moment in the Cup tie. Wigan in the ascendency at the

:55:01. > :55:02.moment. Another try here and suddenly the hill becomes a mountain

:55:03. > :55:19.for Castleford to climb. Tomkins will drive it in. 200th

:55:20. > :55:26.Wigan game today, Tomkins by the way. Smith to Tomkins.

:55:27. > :55:30.They've still three tackles to go here. Look how close they are.

:55:31. > :55:35.They're trying to sneak another one from dummy half. Castleford are not

:55:36. > :55:42.going to fall for it this time. They must have seen a weakness in

:55:43. > :55:48.Castleford's defence. Smith. Williams long ball to Charnley!

:55:49. > :55:51.Flying in at the corner. The referee is going to ask a

:55:52. > :55:57.question here. He wants to see it again. That's a try. Has he got it

:55:58. > :56:07.down? It's a try. He thinks it's a try. Let's look at the evidence.

:56:08. > :56:17.It's a try. We are checking that the grounding and the touching

:56:18. > :56:23.goal/touchline. From behind Charnley has the ball. It's in his hands

:56:24. > :56:28.still. He has scored. Can I see it from the other angle? That looks as

:56:29. > :56:43.though it's a try from that angle. On that one, that's a try. That's a

:56:44. > :56:52.try. We rather downplayed his first effort but we should trumpet that

:56:53. > :56:56.one. We have been talking about the atleticism of Solomona in the play

:56:57. > :57:00.but decent from Charnley on that occasion for a try. Frngs they've

:57:01. > :57:05.done their homework and they've looked at millington playing third

:57:06. > :57:11.man in and they've run at him. I think they've exposed his lack of

:57:12. > :57:17.pace as a prop forward in the stand-up position. It asks questions

:57:18. > :57:22.of the outside defenders and they're hanging on and defended a little bit

:57:23. > :57:27.too height. The penalty that gave Wigan the field position. One side

:57:28. > :57:31.to the other to stretch millington. He comes in and makes a jump. They

:57:32. > :57:38.feel nervous with big decisions to make. The two outside men can't push

:57:39. > :57:43.because they don't want to expose the inside defence. That's the

:57:44. > :57:48.correct ball. They are caught flat-footed because they're

:57:49. > :57:56.defending too tight. That stat that appeared op the screen there is

:57:57. > :58:01.worth commentingen. 158 tries in 161 appearances for Josh Charnley.

:58:02. > :58:09.That's not bad. It's a decent return. 158 in 161. Terrific effort.

:58:10. > :58:14.That's what you want from a winger. Smith has made that three kicks out

:58:15. > :58:19.of four because that's his first miss of the day. 22-0 Wigan lead. We

:58:20. > :58:24.all agree Castleford need to score next. We said it last time. For the

:58:25. > :58:28.balance of the game Castleford are a type of team if they get one they'll

:58:29. > :58:32.get two or three on the bounce and drag themselves into the occasion.

:58:33. > :58:35.They're not in the occasion at the moment, they're being bullied, I

:58:36. > :58:40.think that's the right expression. They're not quite getting a grip and

:58:41. > :58:49.making errors that are causing them even more problems. Got to get

:58:50. > :58:55.themselves on the score board. Yeah. It's a really professional and

:58:56. > :59:04.efficient performance here. Machine-like, which is good. Very,

:59:05. > :59:09.very efficient and very clinical. Powell will collect. I think that's

:59:10. > :59:13.the first offload. They've said get the yardage, get into a position and

:59:14. > :59:28.get the kick and we defend. Smith dragging it down the middle.

:59:29. > :59:34.Luke Dorn was expecting the touch. A second or two is used as he gathers

:59:35. > :59:40.it in which allows Wigan defenders a little bit of extra yardage down

:59:41. > :59:47.field. Dorn sees Castleford starting 30 yards out.

:59:48. > :59:54.You feel they need to get something before half-time for confidence.

:59:55. > :00:00.They've created. A penalty. They have a penalty here. Their next set

:00:01. > :00:09.will be played in its entirety inside the Wigan half.

:00:10. > :00:21.Very nearly inside the Wigan 20. Minikin and here is Tickle.

:00:22. > :00:28.But five more tackles to go. Milner looks to his right. It's taken on.

:00:29. > :00:33.Matt Cook put down. Milner again and Gale. Trying to bring them on.

:00:34. > :00:40.Minikin crashes in. Defenders are waiting for him in numbers.

:00:41. > :00:52.Milner passing it back to Gale. The advancing O'Loughlin. Putting him

:00:53. > :01:01.down. Milner again, Millington. The last tackle in this set. Gale kicks

:01:02. > :01:10.it, high and wide. Taken superbly by Manfredi. I said earlier, some very

:01:11. > :01:20.confident winners on the field, in attack and defence. -- wingers. That

:01:21. > :01:29.is the last chance. Ooh! Potential for that being high but the referee

:01:30. > :01:41.says it was high. Just in time. He rushes in. Oh, hang on, take your

:01:42. > :01:45.pick! So, Matty Smith is in no hurry to find touch on the far side. They

:01:46. > :01:53.are going to have one set now, Wigan. 22 points down. They can't

:01:54. > :02:08.afford another try. Sutton with the initial drive. O'Loughlin pushing

:02:09. > :02:12.away to call. Coming in for more -- Tickle. This should be a closer game

:02:13. > :02:16.looking at the stats, but they've been so clinical, that's the

:02:17. > :02:23.difference. Castleford have played well but have missed opportunities,

:02:24. > :02:27.missing a couple of tackles. Sutton and advancing ahead of Williams, who

:02:28. > :02:40.he has to dodge as he continues his run. Porte taking it in. -- thought

:02:41. > :02:44.I -- Tautai. Matty Smith going for the drop goal and he is adding to

:02:45. > :02:56.his collection... He isn't, he put it wide. There isn't time, Wigan

:02:57. > :03:00.ending the half with a 22-0 lead, nearly getting the extra point but

:03:01. > :03:06.it wasn't to be. I'm sure Matty Smith won't be too downhearted about

:03:07. > :03:10.the missed one point because otherwise Wigan have been very good

:03:11. > :03:14.in the first period. Let's talk to Damien Johnson who has Sam Tomkins.

:03:15. > :03:20.Back on the scoresheet in the Challenge Cup, the first time in a

:03:21. > :03:24.long time. Are you happy with that at half-time? I think so, we are the

:03:25. > :03:28.best team at half-time. Castleford are a good team, we played them a

:03:29. > :03:37.few weeks ago. They came back strong in the second half. When we come

:03:38. > :03:42.back we will come back with a 0-0 mentality. Luke Dorn, how do you

:03:43. > :03:47.break down this defence? We have two keep the ball, not give away any

:03:48. > :03:55.penalties. The more we are down there and we will score points, and

:03:56. > :03:58.have a crack it gull at it. -- have a crack at it. Let's look at the

:03:59. > :04:02.graphics in the first half, you would almost think it isn't 50-50

:04:03. > :04:08.possession when you look at the scoreline. The big one for me, set

:04:09. > :04:12.completion, when you are not completing your giving the

:04:13. > :04:20.opposition a chance to win and that is why it is 22-0. Not being helped

:04:21. > :04:27.by the fact that Castleford are missing the one on ones. They have

:04:28. > :04:34.two muscle up a bit in the middle because the one on one breaks. We

:04:35. > :04:38.saw Luke Dorn have an opportunity with Millington, not taking the

:04:39. > :04:44.opportunity. Every time Wigan have been in the red zone, the attacking

:04:45. > :04:48.zone, have executed. The players look machine-like and efficient,

:04:49. > :04:51.going through the process, Williams kicking the ball well, Matty Smith

:04:52. > :04:57.kicking well. Pounding Castleford into submission. It is for

:04:58. > :05:02.Castleford to do something about it. Let's look at the first try, this

:05:03. > :05:09.was classic Wigan. It was, the setup was brilliant. McMeeken getting back

:05:10. > :05:15.onside late. Moors Cas to tighten up the line, focus on the Wigan

:05:16. > :05:20.players. -- has to tighten up. Sutton going through the middle.

:05:21. > :05:27.Feeding Tomkins fei early and then it is a simple play to the edge for

:05:28. > :05:34.the try. They did the similar play earlier hitting Tomkins up the back.

:05:35. > :05:42.Easy to finish it. Webster isn't there, he's a big presence. He won't

:05:43. > :05:48.have an easier finish, Sarginson. Ashton rightly said that they have

:05:49. > :05:53.experienced it before, having a crack at that site before and they

:05:54. > :05:58.got some success this time. Talking about the attack, very fluent. Their

:05:59. > :06:03.defence has been very good as well, that goal-line defence. Wigan always

:06:04. > :06:12.scramble very hard. It is a bit of a battle of the full-backs between

:06:13. > :06:17.Tomkins and Dorn. They are working hard for one another. As Luke Dorn

:06:18. > :06:22.said, they will break them down, they need to be persistent. Wigan

:06:23. > :06:29.are sprinting very hard. A very relaxed looking Shaun Wane. It is,

:06:30. > :06:34.I'm sure he's happy with 22-0. Shaun Wane will be saying that they are

:06:35. > :06:39.going out with the 0-0 mentality, as Sam Tomkins said, they want to

:06:40. > :06:43.finish off Castleford well. We talked about Sam Tomkins before the

:06:44. > :06:48.game, we've seen both sides, his attacking prowess but also his

:06:49. > :06:55.defence. Not only can he attack and brake lines and finish off tries, he

:06:56. > :07:03.can defend. Beautiful little move here, Millington can't turn the

:07:04. > :07:10.corner. The big fellow, not a bad thing, Sam Tomkins is lightning.

:07:11. > :07:15.When the ball gets into Sam Tomkins' hands, it is done, it is try time.

:07:16. > :07:19.You don't want to give him that kind of space. Highlighting the fact that

:07:20. > :07:27.Millington isn't defending his normal position, and it is

:07:28. > :07:32.one-on-one with Sam Tomkins. Is he a better defender than he was a couple

:07:33. > :07:36.of years ago when he left us? I think both sides of Sam Tomkins'

:07:37. > :07:41.game have been exceptional. In that position, I think Denny Solomona

:07:42. > :07:47.could have got to the try line. He stayed too high, he could have kept

:07:48. > :07:52.his momentum. Some great work by Sam. Wigan, working harder, giving

:07:53. > :07:58.them the opportunity to come up with the big plays. He wanted to jump in.

:07:59. > :08:02.Just thinking, we spoke about how brilliant Denny Solomona is at

:08:03. > :08:07.finishing the play and normally he would finish that. If he went lower

:08:08. > :08:11.earlier, he would have got in but credit to Sarginson and Tomkins,

:08:12. > :08:16.they got in there. What is the key for them to get back into the game?

:08:17. > :08:23.The worry for me for Darryl is that they only have got four penalties,

:08:24. > :08:29.so they need a different City to get them on the front foot and get field

:08:30. > :08:34.position. Castleford can put 18 on you like that but they don't look

:08:35. > :08:37.like doing that at the moment. That's the worry for him. Daryl will

:08:38. > :08:41.be telling his players to get to the right parts of the field and they

:08:42. > :08:44.will get the scoreboard rolling and they have a chance. We talked about

:08:45. > :08:50.Solomona and his finishing prowess but Josh Charnley has become the

:08:51. > :08:56.unsung hero for Wigan, he is going to uni next year but he has scored

:08:57. > :09:00.some big tries for his team. He is an international rugby league

:09:01. > :09:09.player, he has been there and done it, Tautai, it is an attitude thing.

:09:10. > :09:12.We saw Daryl Powell talking, it is all about attitude, you need the

:09:13. > :09:17.right state of mind to win the Challenge Cup games. Great example,

:09:18. > :09:21.they already looking outside the play, not even giving Josh Charnley

:09:22. > :09:25.a second look and when you get that opportunity, if you don't pay

:09:26. > :09:31.attention, dealing with the first threat, the guy at dummy half...

:09:32. > :09:36.They disrespected that part of the game and that is what Daryl Powell

:09:37. > :09:41.is talking about, that attitude. What Robbie was saying, Millington,

:09:42. > :09:49.that's the problem you have at the backs. It's a great finish, classic

:09:50. > :09:52.finish. Top finish, this is what we were talking about with Denny

:09:53. > :09:58.Solomona. Josh Charnley has eyes for the try line, he knows how to finish

:09:59. > :10:03.and that's how you do it. My only argument, he should have had it in

:10:04. > :10:10.his left hand! LAUGHTER Like you used to do, Robbie! My

:10:11. > :10:18.hands weren't big enough. Some finishing tips. Brian, can you see a

:10:19. > :10:21.way back? Absolutely, there's always a way back, you can turn the tables

:10:22. > :10:25.but you need to do something different. He has to do something

:10:26. > :10:33.and think if they do these things, they must get to the right parts of

:10:34. > :10:42.the field. We sought out by making these moves but Wigan must be

:10:43. > :10:48.stopped in their bullying. They must keep the belief in attack, Wigan are

:10:49. > :10:52.scrambling very well. They have the players to break down Wigan. Wigan

:10:53. > :10:55.are really defending hard and strong, but I'm sure Daryl Powell is

:10:56. > :11:00.saying, come on, guys, keep it going. You are looking fresh because

:11:01. > :11:04.you weren't beaten up yesterday, you got to sit and watch your team.

:11:05. > :11:07.Warrington got through to the semifinals of the Challenge Cup and

:11:08. > :11:13.let's see it through the eyes of their half-backs, Kurt Gidley.

:11:14. > :11:30.COMMENTATOR: Rez Hadley getting things underway.

:11:31. > :11:36.Here is Gidley, the ball on the inside, and there's a chance for

:11:37. > :11:55.Hughes. Yes! Hit back. It is kicked on by Mellor.

:11:56. > :12:05.Playing the football. Show a response here. Now it is Whitley,

:12:06. > :12:15.getting away again. It has all gone white here. The cake for the corner.

:12:16. > :12:22.Penny is into score. Well done. Ten minute period, here.

:12:23. > :12:35.Up-tempo, show and go, we are going to win the tackle. Come around the

:12:36. > :12:45.short side. I've got Brown. Another set to have a go. Why doesn't need

:12:46. > :12:52.six, he just needs one. -- Dwyer. Dummy income and then it is Houston.

:12:53. > :13:02.That's a very good rugby league drive. -- try.

:13:03. > :13:15.It has been dropped on by Cahill in the offside position. Two it is,

:13:16. > :13:19.two. This is pretty big. Puts this one over, Warrington might have one

:13:20. > :13:26.foot in the Challenge Cup semifinal. And he has put it over. This is the

:13:27. > :13:32.last play. Brown putting through the kick. That is it, the second

:13:33. > :13:45.attempt, and Warrington have clung on. Tough game, make full -- mate.

:13:46. > :13:52.Let's remind you who is into the semifinal draw. Wakefield and

:13:53. > :13:56.Warrington have booked their places and Wigan are in the box seat, but

:13:57. > :14:01.will Castleford come out? We will have the draw at the end of the

:14:02. > :14:07.game. We also have the rugby league forum on the red button, on the app

:14:08. > :14:11.and the website. Ashton, fascinating watching Kurt Gidley. The guys who

:14:12. > :14:20.cut it said that he could have had 80 minutes on his own. Stop shaking

:14:21. > :14:30.your head! He was just granting, "We will rip into their!". -- into them.

:14:31. > :14:38.It is gorgeous, the game management but these guys are growling.

:14:39. > :14:43.Certainly wasn't music. Ashton, off you go. What he has bought to

:14:44. > :14:49.Warrington is invaluable, money can't buy that, his competitiveness.

:14:50. > :14:54.Talking about Sam Tomkins' competitiveness, his will to win,

:14:55. > :14:58.second to none. It shows you there, what he brings to the team and keep

:14:59. > :15:01.them afloat. And he didn't stop through the 80 minutes, pointing and

:15:02. > :15:08.pushing and moving around. He's like a good dog, making sure you are in

:15:09. > :15:14.the right place. Great as a front while player, you can get a bit of

:15:15. > :15:20.tunnel vision -- front row. He makes sure you are in the right place.

:15:21. > :15:25.Especially the penalty goal at the end. A few fans were happy with

:15:26. > :15:29.that. I'm sure they were. Incredible kick. Castleford fans getting there

:15:30. > :15:33.are freshmen is, trying to build up their strength for the second half.

:15:34. > :15:36.The Castleford players are out there bit earlier than the Wigan ones,

:15:37. > :15:42.Brian. I think Daryl Powell might have been short and sharp and

:15:43. > :15:47.saying, boys, to turn it around we had to be decisive and incisive and

:15:48. > :15:50.I don't think he needed many words to reinforce that. They have to be

:15:51. > :15:55.better in the middle and execute on the fringes. They will create

:15:56. > :16:01.opportunities, Castleford, they are too good a team. We will let you get

:16:02. > :16:05.back to the commentary box to join Jonathan Davies and Dave Woods for

:16:06. > :16:08.the second half. COMMENTATOR: Wigan fans will have enjoyed the first 40

:16:09. > :16:13.minutes, a pretty ruthless performance by Wigan. It is up to

:16:14. > :16:20.Castleford to try and break the Cherry and Whites resolved. --

:16:21. > :16:26.resolved. The sprinklers are still on, I hope they switch them off

:16:27. > :16:32.before the game begins! A new surface, five weeks and four days

:16:33. > :16:36.since it was laid. Yes. A couple of seconds before Solomona gets

:16:37. > :16:46.drenched. Here we go, he thinks it's raining! He's just gone through a

:16:47. > :16:55.car wash. They've stopped, finally. So, here we go. Luke Gale, getting

:16:56. > :17:02.things underway. Wigan will have possession for the first time in the

:17:03. > :17:07.second half. What has to happen for the dynamics of the match to change?

:17:08. > :17:11.Castleford need a different approach, they have a chance for

:17:12. > :17:16.more line speed in their defence, a bit more in the Wigan sowed -- in

:17:17. > :17:22.the middle so that the Wigan forwards don't get on top of them. I

:17:23. > :17:28.think that Wigan will want to grind it out, as they have been doing.

:17:29. > :17:35.Wigan don't need to change anything. They've been clinical and very

:17:36. > :17:39.effective. As Brian said at half-time, they need field position.

:17:40. > :17:44.I don't think that they have the pace, apart from Solomona and Dorn,

:17:45. > :17:49.to go the length of the field, so they need the right areas. Dorn

:17:50. > :17:56.carefully collecting the kick and he passes to Solomona but the wall of

:17:57. > :18:01.Cherry and Whites is waiting again. So, no purchase on that occasion.

:18:02. > :18:06.Monaghan now trying to bustle forwards. But down they go. Milner

:18:07. > :18:22.is still on the field. Adam Milner again. Looking to

:18:23. > :18:30.Tickle. Dorn wide but he will have seen the large size of Sarginson

:18:31. > :18:33.closing in. This fellow hasn't had as destructive a performance as he

:18:34. > :18:39.has had against other teams this season, Moors. I think the go to

:18:40. > :18:45.man, he must get more involved, Gayle must look for him and that a

:18:46. > :18:48.bit wider. Run at Smith. If you can get the quicker men running at

:18:49. > :18:53.Millington, the larger men running at myth. They have to do that when

:18:54. > :18:58.they get into the good positions -- at Smith. I wonder what was said at

:18:59. > :19:02.half-time, let's get the news from Damien Johnson. Daryl Johnson said

:19:03. > :19:06.that they made too many errors, they have two get the game together, put

:19:07. > :19:11.the pressure game on them and things may happen in the second half. For

:19:12. > :19:16.Wigan, Shaun Wane said he wants more of the same, he said that they will

:19:17. > :19:21.come at them but he was pleased how they move the ball from side to side

:19:22. > :19:29.in the first half. -- moved the ball. Williams moving back towards

:19:30. > :19:33.the middle, dodging and darting and off he goes. Tomkins to the left and

:19:34. > :19:41.he has Moynahan. Solomona coming in quickly. Good defence by Dorn and

:19:42. > :19:48.Solomona, they communicated. O'Loughlin with the dummy. And the

:19:49. > :19:57.carry. Eventually taking the tackle. On the goal line. A big opportunity,

:19:58. > :20:01.incisive. Another snapshot of what happened in the first half, the

:20:02. > :20:07.break down the middle. Williams took it quite a long way down the field

:20:08. > :20:10.and then Solomona, getting back and making the tackle and Gale made the

:20:11. > :20:23.tackle on O'Loughlin, who look like calling.

:20:24. > :20:35.Milner again the marshalling. McShane is off the field. Wigan

:20:36. > :20:38.again working them over in defence. Getting the tackles in and

:20:39. > :20:46.Castleford are not troubling them. They must find something. Quickly

:20:47. > :20:51.away, Minikin rushing on the inside am a Solomona. It was a poor pass.

:20:52. > :20:55.It has gone to ground and it is picked up by Sam Tomkins who can

:20:56. > :20:58.embarrass this defence if he is given half a chance. Luke Dorn with

:20:59. > :21:03.the thunderous challenge to stop him. It's all about being clinical,

:21:04. > :21:08.that's the one opportunity they've had. Minikin did exceptionally well

:21:09. > :21:14.but the pass inside to Solomona, the perfect run but the past didn't get

:21:15. > :21:23.to him unfortunately. Sarginson did well. He just got a hand to it. --

:21:24. > :21:27.but the pass. Another penalty. Not sure if it was for the high tackle

:21:28. > :21:32.or the secondary effort. Secondary effort. Wigan setting up camp in

:21:33. > :21:45.Castleford's half again. They just seem to be making the

:21:46. > :21:49.yards a lot easier than Castleford. Finding field position so much more

:21:50. > :21:57.easily. Five Wigan players to the left but they go right again. That's

:21:58. > :22:00.a poor pass by Smith. A couple of opportunities at the start of the

:22:01. > :22:07.second half for Wigan. If Castleford scored a try... They must be

:22:08. > :22:12.careful. We saw Minikin making the break. Smith with a poor effort to

:22:13. > :22:21.be sidelined, twice that's happened in the second half. Minikin made a

:22:22. > :22:27.move, if that had gone to hand, you are right, you can't take Castleford

:22:28. > :22:31.likely, they are a good team. I was talking to a Wigan supporter at

:22:32. > :22:35.half-time, very satisfied with the first 40 minutes but said, they

:22:36. > :22:39.haven't done it for 80 minutes so far this season, they must keep it

:22:40. > :22:43.going. Castleford will take hope from that, that may be Wigan's

:22:44. > :22:50.boiling point may be reduced a bit in the second period. Tickle

:22:51. > :22:56.tackled, but he floats and Gale picks it up. Not making a lot of

:22:57. > :23:06.progress, three tackles on. That looked forward. But it's offside,

:23:07. > :23:09.thought I -- Tautai. Must settle, keep running the patterns. Creating

:23:10. > :23:14.opportunities in the first half but couldn't finish them. Just keep

:23:15. > :23:19.knocking on the door. One try will give them confidence, the momentum

:23:20. > :23:24.shift, as we saw last night. It looked all over at one stage, but

:23:25. > :23:28.there was a great try and Warrington had the momentum to come back.

:23:29. > :23:35.Strong carried by Crooks. Millington up to the 20. Koke spinning its two

:23:36. > :23:44.Gale and now Moors. Oh, it was behind Luke Dorn. Trying to off-load

:23:45. > :23:50.it, that's gone forward. Good tackle, though. Had to make it.

:23:51. > :23:57.Manfredi doesn't have to carry on running here. That's the show where

:23:58. > :24:00.they say, look out behind you. He has taken on his head which may have

:24:01. > :24:07.covered his ears so he couldn't hear the whistle. He's behind you!

:24:08. > :24:22.Again, one mistake, isn't it? Just the execution, Wigan have been quite

:24:23. > :24:25.clinical. We see here, Solomona, fired it at his chest, difficult

:24:26. > :24:35.catch to make. The weight wasn't correct. Hull have beaten Catalan

:24:36. > :24:38.today, they go to the semifinals. Warrington beating Widnes last

:24:39. > :24:44.night, so they are in the semifinals. Special night for

:24:45. > :24:47.Jonathan Davies last night, Warrington against Widnes, two of

:24:48. > :24:51.his former teams. You said it was nice to walk away from the ground

:24:52. > :24:56.without being abused by the supporters! Less to do with what

:24:57. > :25:02.they think of you, but more because you left the ground under cover of

:25:03. > :25:10.darkness! Castleford in possession here. Milner is at dummy half.

:25:11. > :25:18.Holmes on the right-hand side. A try here for Castleford just maybe

:25:19. > :25:22.changes the dynamics. But they are along way from scoring. They need

:25:23. > :25:32.something to happen. Milner, there's something happening! Tomkins comes

:25:33. > :25:38.in with the tackle. Millington, back on the inside. Bouncing off players

:25:39. > :25:43.again and Gale tried the awkward kick, but Solomona has gathered it

:25:44. > :25:48.in. I don't think this is going to be given. I'm not sure. It was a

:25:49. > :25:57.great finish, but it's whether his feet are in touch. He got to it. He

:25:58. > :26:01.says it's a try. And touching goal, so maybe this is the moment. He

:26:02. > :26:10.doesn't look confident. Let's check with the video referee. We have the

:26:11. > :26:16.decision of a try. The kick was onside. We can freeze it on his

:26:17. > :26:23.foot, yes, all onside, so we can concentrate on whether the ball was

:26:24. > :26:29.grounded before he went into touch. His feet are in the air. That's very

:26:30. > :26:36.tight. I'd like it slower if I can. The angle is the one I need, but

:26:37. > :26:43.slower, so Maicon CEP catches the line. The ball is down. It is touch,

:26:44. > :26:49.that is his boot. I think it was short of the line, so it is not a

:26:50. > :27:02.try. Just show it again, please. Can I see it again, his boot. It is the

:27:03. > :27:09.first angle which is the best one. It is the other player's boot that

:27:10. > :27:17.was in touch. Right, the ball is now down and if we go frame by frame

:27:18. > :27:26.from here. His legs are in air and so is the ball. He is now down. Play

:27:27. > :27:38.on, that is play on, play on. Touch there, the ball was short. Scrum, no

:27:39. > :27:42.try. Sometimes we can be critical about the use of the video referee,

:27:43. > :27:48.but tell you what, when you see and hear that, perfect explanation,

:27:49. > :27:55.perfectly good decision. Not a try, he did his best to get in, but

:27:56. > :28:00.Wigan, a desperate scramble defence. Manfredi and Sarginson making sure

:28:01. > :28:08.Solomona didn't get in there. Respecting the try line. So, Wigan

:28:09. > :28:17.have survived. Castleford, frustrated dill. But there's a hint

:28:18. > :28:21.that they can pack a punch -- still. It was a manufactured kick from Luke

:28:22. > :28:26.Gale, wasn't it, which closed them down. He can do that, he is

:28:27. > :28:35.terrific, on the wrong foot, poking it through. Tautai looking to bustle

:28:36. > :28:48.his way through. Three have gone. Joel Tomkins. Powell wanting it

:28:49. > :28:51.played. Matty Smith and Tomkins, quick. Sarginson wanted it to be

:28:52. > :29:01.quick. It has gone to ground, knock-on. Minikin did his job. It's

:29:02. > :29:05.got a little bit scrappy now, I don't know if it is the scoreline

:29:06. > :29:09.affecting both teams but a lot of mistakes creeping in. It is up to

:29:10. > :29:13.Castleford to grab the game by the scruff of its neck, get on the

:29:14. > :29:19.scoresheet, get the momentum going, get the confidence back. They need

:29:20. > :29:33.to pick up the tempo, it is flat on both sides. It only takes a moment

:29:34. > :29:39.to turn things around. Castleford and Wigan are aware of that. Both

:29:40. > :29:47.follow the tips of their toes in terms of concentration here poor

:29:48. > :29:59.both are on -- both are on. Dragging it down, Flower is about to come

:30:00. > :30:04.back on the field. Dorn's space is again closed down. They've done

:30:05. > :30:15.their homework on Dorn, both of the centres coming in.

:30:16. > :30:21.Not finding a safe passage but takes the tackle and gets up to play.

:30:22. > :30:30.Here is Cook. Missed his man. It's picked up by

:30:31. > :30:37.Milner. Millington again, trying to hold off Wigan defends swarming

:30:38. > :30:41.around him. Last play in the set. Back to Gale who has hoisted it high

:30:42. > :30:50.to this corner. It might be too deep. Taken by Manfredi. It's back

:30:51. > :31:04.on the 20. Great competition between those two. Like salmon leaping the

:31:05. > :31:09.pair of them. Patrick back on the field for Holmes. Gildart running

:31:10. > :31:13.out of dummy half. In case you have forgotten, or in

:31:14. > :31:16.case you weren't with us in the first half, his dad will be joining

:31:17. > :31:27.us for the draw later on. The semifinal draw.

:31:28. > :31:38.Ian Gildart. Not long after the match has finished here.

:31:39. > :31:46.Five gone. One to go. Wigan deep inside their opponents' territory.

:31:47. > :31:52.Sarginson will dribble it for the corner. A good end to the set. Back

:31:53. > :31:56.on the 10-metre line. Castleford are given the hard work again to get

:31:57. > :32:02.away from where they don't want to be. Yeah, if you want to score you

:32:03. > :32:05.score from 90 metres. Castleford can't get in the game. Can't get

:32:06. > :32:08.themselves an opportunity. It's one of those days where it's not quite

:32:09. > :32:12.making the break. That's down to Wigan. The defence has been

:32:13. > :32:16.magnificent. They've closed everything down on the fringes and

:32:17. > :32:23.they've been very strong in the middle. The team in cherry and white

:32:24. > :32:28.are just nailing it, defensively, particularly. Castleford have been

:32:29. > :32:34.creative this year but today defence is on top. Very aggressive. Very

:32:35. > :32:37.well organised. I am glad I looked around there, I was about to sit

:32:38. > :32:44.down and I looked around and the chair's gone. I would have loved you

:32:45. > :32:50.to have sat down. Our viewers, I would have described it in my best

:32:51. > :32:54.hyperbole. Castleford working hard again here. But it is hard work.

:32:55. > :33:06.That's the problem. A couple but not making too much

:33:07. > :33:11.distance. Gale trying to create space. Oh,

:33:12. > :33:15.another big hit on Sutton. I think Sutton's come off second best there.

:33:16. > :33:20.I don't think, I know. There is the evidence.

:33:21. > :33:33.Just below us there. It was an accidental contact. There

:33:34. > :33:36.was nothing illegal about this. Head in the wrong place. Yeah, mistimed

:33:37. > :33:53.that completely. Turned into him. He is waggling his legs down there,

:33:54. > :34:00.Ryan Sutton, or he was a few minutes ago. He is obviously conscious. But

:34:01. > :34:04.they don't take any risks now. We always applaud the medical staff

:34:05. > :34:07.these days. They don't even wait for the referee. If they spot something

:34:08. > :34:14.they're on the field straightaway. Ryan Sutton I think is going to be

:34:15. > :34:24.OK. They'll take him off and check. Just watch. He rushes in and gets

:34:25. > :34:32.the timing all wrong. He is cut down sharply. Doesn't get his arms up.

:34:33. > :34:40.Gale will put it high. Tomkins has a watch and has taken it very, very

:34:41. > :34:45.well. And gets a penalty, as well. Just a comment about Tomkins

:34:46. > :34:48.defensive play as a fullback. He has improved from his experience in the

:34:49. > :34:53.NRL because of the intensity you have to play out there you have to

:34:54. > :34:59.make defensive plays as well as offensive attacking plays. We knew

:35:00. > :35:03.his attacking prowess. If there was ever any question marks, he has come

:35:04. > :35:11.out with super defensive plays today. Jonathan, you spotted out the

:35:12. > :35:17.tackle in the first half but under the high ball there, as well. I

:35:18. > :35:21.think he knows what to expect by playing in the halfback position,

:35:22. > :35:26.what players are going to do. So he reads the situation before it

:35:27. > :35:31.happens. Defensively irrespective of how good you are positionally you

:35:32. > :35:39.have to be brave. He has put the tackles in. Flower taking it

:35:40. > :35:43.forward. Williams jabbing it over the top.

:35:44. > :35:51.There might be problems here for Monaghan. He was being closed down.

:35:52. > :35:59.Pushed from behind by Charnley. I think it's a penalty.

:36:00. > :36:05.Johnson down on the touchline what are you saying? News about Ryan

:36:06. > :36:09.Sutton, the young prop who disappeared a moment ago after that

:36:10. > :36:12.collision. He looked groggy. He has gone to the dressing room with the

:36:13. > :36:15.doctor. He won't be back for at least 15 minutes if at all. He is

:36:16. > :36:22.going to have an assessment on that head injury. They take every

:36:23. > :36:26.precaution with that kind of injury. And a good man with him, a Professor

:36:27. > :36:30.you know very well. Wigan doctor for a long time. He was at Bradford with

:36:31. > :36:39.me. He has been instrumental in bringing the highest of standards to

:36:40. > :36:43.the game of Rugby League. Luke Gale just inside.

:36:44. > :36:53.We have not seen a lot of game time from Burke, or am I wrong? I think

:36:54. > :36:59.it's his first sprint on the field, in general or today's game? Yeah, I

:37:00. > :37:03.think it's his first. Charnley takes it safely. He is on a hat trick of

:37:04. > :37:08.course and scored two tries in the first half.

:37:09. > :37:14.No change in the scoreline since that half-time hooter. 22-0 it

:37:15. > :37:17.remains. Wigan dominant in the first period perhaps less efficient in the

:37:18. > :37:24.second. Castleford still unable to break them down.

:37:25. > :37:32.Williams to Tomkins. Across the line to Sarginson.

:37:33. > :37:41.A couple of tackles to go. Burke will take it on.

:37:42. > :37:51.Last play. Down this short side. Tomkins gets the kick away. It rolls

:37:52. > :37:57.over the boot of Dorn. They're up, the cherry and whites. Penalty. A

:37:58. > :38:02.penalty. That's a really cheap penalty to give away. They've done

:38:03. > :38:06.it a number of times. If Shaun Wane was to be critical of his team

:38:07. > :38:13.that's about the 6th in that area of the field. Castleford haven't had to

:38:14. > :38:22.ruck the ball out too many times. Is there time in the game? Yes, there

:38:23. > :38:27.is. Plenty of time. Plenty of time. 23 minutes to play. Castleford, if

:38:28. > :38:34.they are going to rescue this game, will have to score four times in

:38:35. > :38:39.those 23 minutes and not concede. You have to make a change at six.

:38:40. > :38:45.Millington, you know, however good a ball player he is, at this level now

:38:46. > :38:55.he lacks the pace maybe against this opposition. They need a little bit

:38:56. > :38:58.more pace there. Dorn to Solomona but he couldn't pick a path that

:38:59. > :39:08.didn't have a cherry and white bowleder in the way.

:39:09. > :39:10.Here is Minikin. Dragged down. One more chance in this play

:39:11. > :39:19.against. Monaghan is after this. Gets up and

:39:20. > :39:29.knocks it down. They're trying to keep it alive. Wigan back safely in

:39:30. > :39:35.possession. Another example. They're brilliant catchers of the ball.

:39:36. > :39:41.Charnley and Manfredi would have been doing extras through the week.

:39:42. > :39:56.They've gone for every scrambled ball.

:39:57. > :40:03.Success here for Castleford in terms of restricting Wigan's movement down

:40:04. > :40:11.field. Tomkins will put a big boot on it. That's a decent kick. Dorn is

:40:12. > :40:17.back there. He is not going to get too far the other end before those

:40:27. > :40:29.two or three or four players before the Castleford players are back into

:40:30. > :40:38.a position where they can play. Territory and possession. Castleford

:40:39. > :40:39.dominant but, unfortunately they contact not break this Wigan defence

:40:40. > :41:00.down. Until now. Back inside. Moors has a chance to

:41:01. > :41:04.run and the pass away from Luke Gale underneath the sticks. Suddenly

:41:05. > :41:11.there's a little spark in this Cup tie again. That could be the spark.

:41:12. > :41:19.Broken field running. They know they can do it. They know they've the

:41:20. > :41:23.ability. It's a lovely inside ball: They're back in the game. Gale is

:41:24. > :41:27.the reason they're back in the game. He provides the opportunity. He

:41:28. > :41:32.provides the ball for Moors and provides the support play on the

:41:40. > :41:43.the whole of the Cup tie or is it something that starts something

:41:44. > :41:54.special for Castleford here? Gale with the play to Dorn who juggles

:41:55. > :42:00.it. Moors back on the inside. Moors back on the inside for him. He got

:42:01. > :42:05.him back on the inside there where normally he might have played on the

:42:06. > :42:11.outside. Dorn a great support player. Lovely ball. Doesn't look

:42:12. > :42:14.for contact. There is an element of doubt about whether the pass was

:42:15. > :42:21.forward or not. I think it was forward. Sometimes you need lucky

:42:22. > :42:28.breaks. It means itself out. You have to take them when they go with

:42:29. > :42:32.you. Is there a little belief flooding back into Castleford here?

:42:33. > :42:40.There is still time in the game for tem them to rescue what hiter to has

:42:41. > :42:44.seemed a lost cause. Wigan having so much ascendency looking to

:42:45. > :42:51.re-establish their authority in this game now.

:42:52. > :43:15.Millington goes wide right. Crooks was inject ago bit of pace on that

:43:16. > :43:20.far side. They go to McMeeken who keeps it moving. And thrown to Moors

:43:21. > :43:27.again. That's a heck of a pass by him.

:43:28. > :43:34.Bounces backwards. He said play on. Then he says knock on.

:43:35. > :43:37.Must have been a touch judge. That must have been the call from the

:43:38. > :43:44.officials. They're starting to offload now.

:43:45. > :43:55.Caution to the wind. They need to do it. You can only assume the referee

:43:56. > :44:05.thought he could have had a good view of that. It was decided it was

:44:06. > :44:16.a knock-on. Wigan back with the ball. Castleford's enthusiasm

:44:17. > :44:18.sometimied just a little. Sarginson driving it down the middle. Powell

:44:19. > :44:54.at dummy half again. This is the last play again.

:44:55. > :45:01.Tomkins. Needs to keep it in the field of play. The wingers have

:45:02. > :45:07.caught well. Defensively. He has done well. He has been well, he's

:45:08. > :45:19.come in. He's done exceptionally well. Looking for the offload. There

:45:20. > :45:25.is an extra zip to Castleford at the moment. Holding him down say the

:45:26. > :45:32.referee. They look a little scruffy if that's the right expression,

:45:33. > :45:35.Wigan at the moment, they're giving penalties away. They're not looking

:45:36. > :45:44.fluid. They're looking tired, as well. Forwards are looking tired.

:45:45. > :45:47.Throw caution to the wind. Hammered in by Patrick. They've five tackles

:45:48. > :45:55.to go from here. Here is Massey. Milner.

:45:56. > :46:00.Still a long way back. They still have to score three times

:46:01. > :46:10.Castleford. Wigan still very much with the advantage here. But Holmes,

:46:11. > :46:16.on tackle three. Milner again. Patrick. MacShane. Picked up by

:46:17. > :46:24.Dorn. Back to MacShane. Pops it over the top. McMeeken carries it

:46:25. > :46:33.one-handed. Five yards out. Spun back. Castleford right down the

:46:34. > :46:38.middle. Well, he gave himself up there, junior Moors. Milner running

:46:39. > :46:41.through. It was almost as if Junior Moors thought the referee is going

:46:42. > :46:47.to blow so I might as well stop. They had a lot of momentum. They

:46:48. > :46:56.were going to score the play. Milner. Moors doesn't give it to

:46:57. > :47:05.him. Gave himself up junior Moors. He did. So frustration for the

:47:06. > :47:10.coach. Remember what's coming up after this game, we have the

:47:28. > :47:32.15 minutes of this game still to go, though. Still enough time for

:47:33. > :47:39.Castleford. Wigan will want to see it out.

:47:40. > :47:52.Errors made, only three. That's very good. Charnley cutting in. But

:47:53. > :47:58.chopped down. Here is O'Loughlin, back to Smith again. Behind Burke

:47:59. > :48:05.and into the hands of Tomkins. To the corner. That's a great kick. It

:48:06. > :48:11.needs dealing with. It has not. I think he has missed it. He is

:48:12. > :48:17.claiming he's got it. The referee thinks he might have got it. But we

:48:18. > :48:23.have to be certain it's a Cup tie so let's hear again from the video

:48:24. > :48:28.referee Robert Hicks. You have gone with a try? OK. All right. We are

:48:29. > :48:34.looking from the kick first. Are they onside? On the foot, yes, they

:48:35. > :48:40.are on the right side. Roll with this, please, just to see what

:48:41. > :48:44.happens here. Just check this first. Manfredi has to get his hand on top

:48:45. > :48:49.of the ball when it's on the floor. Can't really see whether he touches

:48:50. > :48:54.it or not, the ball goes dead. Have we got the other side to see? If we

:48:55. > :49:00.go slow on this. Does his hand get on that ball on the floor? Looks

:49:01. > :49:08.like he may put his finger on top and the ball is on the floor. Slow

:49:09. > :49:11.here. Looks like he may miss it. I can't prove he doesn't touch it and

:49:12. > :49:20.I would have to have sufficient evidence to overturn that. I need it

:49:21. > :49:25.much slower than that, please. His happened is coming down. That ball

:49:26. > :49:33.is on the floor. Can't tell whether it's touched the ball or not off

:49:34. > :49:39.that replay. That's the best one on the slow, on that corner. His hand

:49:40. > :49:44.comes down, that's on the floor. His hand may touch that ball, if that's

:49:45. > :49:47.all we have got and I haven't sufficient evidence to overturn this

:49:48. > :49:50.because his finger could have touched that ball, I can't prove

:49:51. > :49:52.whether it does or it doesn't. Is that all we have got? On the basis

:49:53. > :50:11.that's all we have got, it's a try. Well, we didn't see the Castleford

:50:12. > :50:16.fans' reaction there but you can guess what it was. I am with them! I

:50:17. > :50:23.am with the Castleford fans. He missed it! I don't think he touched

:50:24. > :50:28.that whatsoever. How he has given that, I don't know. Well, again we

:50:29. > :50:33.have to reiterate the rules as they stand is that when the referee makes

:50:34. > :50:37.a decision on the field the video referee has to be certain, has to

:50:38. > :50:42.have absolutely conclusive evidence to overturn the decision. He missed

:50:43. > :50:47.the ball! Why can't he say is that a try or not? Then the TMO looks at it

:50:48. > :50:55.three times and goes yes it is, no, it's not. The TMO said... They have

:50:56. > :50:59.to make a decision on the 5th. What we see, not that particular

:51:00. > :51:03.incident, I think we were getting to a point when it was try, they were

:51:04. > :51:12.handing too many decisions to the video referee. However, going back

:51:13. > :51:15.to that one, he missed it! If the referee isn't sure, or - why does he

:51:16. > :51:21.have to make a decision? Go to the video referee and say is it a try or

:51:22. > :51:27.not? He watches it three or four times and makes a correct decision.

:51:28. > :51:30.Because you need that initial feel from a referee as to - generally the

:51:31. > :51:35.first impression whether somebody has scored a try or not. I don't

:51:36. > :51:40.agree. Well, I don't agree with you! The video referee is there to make

:51:41. > :51:43.the correct decision. Obviously, he thinks he can't overturn it there

:51:44. > :51:48.for some reason. I don't understand why. It also encourages poor

:51:49. > :51:54.decisions from referees, they get lazy because they want up there to

:51:55. > :51:58.make decisions. It's the same issue. That's all about your job. You don't

:51:59. > :52:02.have to be less fit. Just for the record if you take the video referee

:52:03. > :52:06.out of that equation just then, it would have been a try anyway. Yes.

:52:07. > :52:11.Because the referee on the field thought it was a try. That's where

:52:12. > :52:18.the video referee says it's not. That's the whole point of the video

:52:19. > :52:25.referee. There you go. Shall we watch the rugby! 13 minutes left to

:52:26. > :52:30.play. 26-6. He didn't have anything to prove to overrule the referee on

:52:31. > :52:34.the field. I am suggesting that he missed that ball by a mile. Are you

:52:35. > :52:38.in the studio afterwards? Shouldn't be a try. Talk about this in the

:52:39. > :52:42.studio. We have a game on here. A good game, as well. Whatever the

:52:43. > :52:51.rights and wrongs of that decision. It would be a better game if he

:52:52. > :53:01.hadn't given the try. The kick to touch will go. Lovely kick. Just as

:53:02. > :53:05.a final line on that, it's all about the philosophy of Rugby League.

:53:06. > :53:09.Scoring tries is about touching the ball down in the goal area. Even if

:53:10. > :53:14.he got a futer touch on that under the rules it's a try. But should

:53:15. > :53:21.that rule be changed? You have to have proper control to score a try.

:53:22. > :53:26.He didn't touch it. Thank you, now you are agreeing with me! That's

:53:27. > :53:31.what I mean. That's what I am saying. You take that argument out

:53:32. > :53:36.of it, you have to touch it down properly, he clearly didn't touch it

:53:37. > :53:41.down properly. Keep digging, Dave, keep digging son! Anyway. 26-6 is

:53:42. > :53:47.the score. It's Wigan's name going into the hat for the semifinal as it

:53:48. > :53:52.stands unless Castleford can come up with something miraculous now. They

:53:53. > :53:57.thought they had a sniff of a hope when Gale scored on the hour mark.

:53:58. > :54:03.It's still a battle they're willing to fight here. They've been better

:54:04. > :54:10.in the second half. They have been a lot better, yeah. Minikin trying to

:54:11. > :54:19.weave a little path through but he can't.

:54:20. > :54:20.He is going to be a good player, Minikin, he has shown really good

:54:21. > :54:43.touches. Jewitt let's it go to Dorn. To Gale.

:54:44. > :54:50.Back to McMeeken. MacShane. MacShane to Milner.

:54:51. > :54:58.Milner goes one bay and looks the other. Luke Gale again. McMeeken

:54:59. > :55:04.with a clever little kick but Monaghan always on the stretch to

:55:05. > :55:08.try and get there. Wigan get the handover. They're certainly trying

:55:09. > :55:10.everything. You can't doubt Castleford's commitment and effort.

:55:11. > :55:14.Unfortunately that commitment and effort and bounce of the ball and

:55:15. > :55:23.all the elements of the game have gone Wigan's way Becausewecan of

:55:24. > :55:28.their efficiency and their strength. They've a few more strikes runs,

:55:29. > :55:34.that's where the edge has been today.

:55:35. > :55:45.Total metres, not a lot in it. Do you understand all of that? I do and

:55:46. > :55:51.there's not much in if for each time. There is the telling stat,

:55:52. > :55:58.Wigan have completed really well at a very high rate. Oh! They've a ball

:55:59. > :56:04.here. Castleford have it back again. That was a zero tackle. Out it comes

:56:05. > :56:15.to Gale who finds Holmes. Holmes pass is wayward. Solomona will pick

:56:16. > :56:16.it up. That's been the Achilles heel today, the execution. A wrestle

:56:17. > :56:37.here. Three to go. Oliver Holmes at dummy

:56:38. > :56:43.half. He and Smith having a half and half set-to.

:56:44. > :56:46.Gale looking to launch one. Off the ground to Dorn again.

:56:47. > :57:03.Gale. Such a familiar passage we are going through here. Castleford

:57:04. > :57:06.asking questions, not necessarily the right questions at times, but

:57:07. > :57:20.they have a penalty here. That's it, get him out. The tap is

:57:21. > :57:25.taken and off go Castleford in search of points again. Massey.

:57:26. > :57:30.Milner's looked right and left. He is going to go right. MacShane

:57:31. > :57:40.dodges. Steps off the right foot. Inside ball for Danny Tickle. Has he

:57:41. > :57:47.got there? The ball has sprung free. Knock-on over the line. Again

:57:48. > :57:54.desperate defence. It's hard to be overcritical. They've got to chance

:57:55. > :58:04.their arm. One on one. Just needed... Get it over his head. He

:58:05. > :58:08.couldn't quite get it over his head. That wasn't a play the ball. But the

:58:09. > :58:19.referee says interference. Different emotions here today for

:58:20. > :58:24.Lee Jewitt than a couple of years ago when he scored that effectively

:58:25. > :58:30.match-winning try to take Castleford closer to Wembley. They went all the

:58:31. > :58:35.way that year. But they're falling at this hurdle this year. It's Wigan

:58:36. > :58:42.who are galloping home. It's with Williams.

:58:43. > :59:12.Williams threatening to cut through. Here is Powell. Smith on his inside

:59:13. > :59:23.here now. Wigan looking for a clinical finish. The kick ricochets.

:59:24. > :59:37.That looked forward. Powell again. Oh! Williams has

:59:38. > :59:43.dropped it this time. Took his eyes off the ball. He was looking to see

:59:44. > :59:47.what he was going to do before he caught it.

:59:48. > :59:57.Wigan have been a bit scruffy in the second half. A bit disjointed. They

:59:58. > :00:06.have been still tough when they've needed to be. Still hasn't got his

:00:07. > :00:14.80 minutes of football yet. But the first half they were critical.

:00:15. > :00:19.Castleford in possession again here but time has long since run away

:00:20. > :00:28.from them. Six minutes to go. There is no way through.

:00:29. > :00:32.It's Gale, Minikin. Matte Smith can't keep hold bau

:00:33. > :00:42.couple of his mates there make sure Minikin's progress is halted.

:00:43. > :00:55.Penalty. And it's all getting a bit overheated here. So, have you picked

:00:56. > :01:03.your man of the match? Yes, we have. Who is it? It's a bit early. We

:01:04. > :01:06.think it is that man who just walked out of shot, for his attack and

:01:07. > :01:12.defence this afternoon, he's done nothing wrong. There's our Ladbrokes

:01:13. > :01:19.man of the match, Sam Tomkins. Well done to him. You agree? Yes, his

:01:20. > :01:23.kicking game has been pretty oppressive, kicking long, and a

:01:24. > :01:29.couple of short ones -- pretty impressive. Some superb defensive

:01:30. > :01:39.efforts. I just think they've had those players to make the brakes and

:01:40. > :01:41.scored tries and that's where maybe Castleford have failed, they've

:01:42. > :01:48.created opportunities but haven't got over the line. That's been the

:01:49. > :01:52.big difference. Brian Noble temporarily disappeared. He was

:01:53. > :01:59.tying his shoelaces. I wondered where you were! Patrick Krhin to

:02:00. > :02:06.push a way through. It hasn't been a classic cup tie -- trying to push.

:02:07. > :02:18.We had a good occasion, Warrington and Widnes. Three tackles to go.

:02:19. > :02:28.Tomkins is all over him, Milner. A step by Gale. Third consecutive

:02:29. > :02:30.tackle by Sam Tomkins. The in-goal area, but guess who comes up with

:02:31. > :02:51.the ball? Freakish. Manfredi, running it out. Time is

:02:52. > :03:00.running away. Don't go anywhere, the semifinal draw to come. Hull FC,

:03:01. > :03:12.Wakefield, Warrington and Wigan. I'll tell you,... I think that Krhin

:03:13. > :03:17.have been great. They couldn't have given any more. They will reflect on

:03:18. > :03:28.a couple of things that went against them. -- lighting Castleford have

:03:29. > :03:41.been great. I think. Dorn showing a bit of his magic.

:03:42. > :03:52.Although it's slow down a lot, they've kept their defensive line.

:03:53. > :04:00.Jewitt, running in hard. Milner, at dummy half again. Massey. That is

:04:01. > :04:05.subtle from him, a little dummy and a shimmy and off he went but Tomkins

:04:06. > :04:14.met him. Five metres away. McShane again. Desperate not to give

:04:15. > :04:18.anything up, this Wigan defence. This is the last tackle in the set.

:04:19. > :04:24.Two and a half minute ago. Over the top. Nearly taken by Manfredi.

:04:25. > :04:35.Knock-on, so Castleford get another set of six.

:04:36. > :04:43.Again, great leap. He timed his job very well. Usually when you are the

:04:44. > :04:48.defending winger and you are standing on the ball, the advantage

:04:49. > :04:51.is if you are running onto it. He stands back, waiting for the kick

:04:52. > :05:00.and he times it very well, getting the leap. That's a resigned

:05:01. > :05:01.Castleford bench, isn't it? They know that their side is beaten and

:05:02. > :05:17.they have known for a while. Jewitt, they are still looking here.

:05:18. > :05:23.Still hunting for a try. Get a bit of momentum marked up maybe.

:05:24. > :05:27.Castleford could leave with something positive, that's the hope.

:05:28. > :05:35.Not a lot Solomona could do with that. Off-loading butt out of the

:05:36. > :05:40.tackle, you would have thought. Stolen. I think the touch judge made

:05:41. > :05:49.that decision. -- off-loading out of the tackle.

:05:50. > :05:56.A little flick up to Crooks. Running back to the middle. What can he

:05:57. > :05:57.find? Only the shoulder of O'Loughlin and a couple more

:05:58. > :06:08.besides. The ball has gone to ground, picked

:06:09. > :06:27.up by Gale. Out to the right-hand side,

:06:28. > :06:34.Moynahan! He couldn't get there. Gets it back. And I think that's

:06:35. > :06:43.going to be a try, is it? No, we are going upstairs, downstairs,

:06:44. > :06:50.wherever. No try. That is the view of the retreat. Let's get the video

:06:51. > :06:53.referee again, Robert Hicks. Suddenly the off-load and the

:06:54. > :06:58.grounding. If we can watch Moynahan with the ball in his hand. And as he

:06:59. > :07:05.off-loads, see where his feet are -- Monaghan.

:07:06. > :07:13.So, in field, one-handed. Still in field. I think he's still in field.

:07:14. > :07:22.Have you got the one from behind the dead-ball line? OK, this is the one,

:07:23. > :07:28.slowly, please. His feet are in field. And both in the air, still in

:07:29. > :07:33.the air. And the ball has already been off-loaded, so that will be

:07:34. > :07:35.play on. Can I have it any slower, can you pause it as he releases the

:07:36. > :07:53.ball? I'm pretty certain it's OK. He is in field. Both beat in the air

:07:54. > :08:00.here. Now they are in the air. -- both of his feet. We need to see if

:08:01. > :08:05.he grounds the ball on the field of play. The try was given life. We

:08:06. > :08:15.need sufficient evidence to overturn. That's a try. -- given

:08:16. > :08:30.live. Yeah that's in the field of play. If

:08:31. > :08:36.that's all we got, I'm happy it is a try.

:08:37. > :08:45.So, the try has been given. Ben Crooks gets a bit of consolation. It

:08:46. > :08:50.is a great try, Castleford deserve it from how they've played. I have a

:08:51. > :08:54.quick question, the referee gave no try. Is that overwhelming evidence

:08:55. > :09:03.that Monaghan wasn't in touch and then he got the ball down? Here's

:09:04. > :09:09.Gale from the touchline with the conversion attempt. Has he got it?

:09:10. > :09:13.He has. 26-12, looks a bit more creditable as far as Castleford are

:09:14. > :09:20.concerned but they've been well beaten, they are going out. Wigan

:09:21. > :09:23.have played very, very well. They deserve their place in the

:09:24. > :09:28.semifinal. In the first half they were exemplary and in the second

:09:29. > :09:32.half they were good enough. Yeah the first half performance was very,

:09:33. > :09:37.very good. They tried their best but unfortunately it is the execution of

:09:38. > :09:40.the finishing which has made the difference today. A couple of missed

:09:41. > :09:50.tackles by Castleford and they benefited. Deservedly going into the

:09:51. > :10:01.hat. So, the draw is coming. Let's go down to the touchline and catch

:10:02. > :10:04.up with Damien Johnson. Shaun Wane, congratulations, through to the

:10:05. > :10:09.semifinals. Is that the performance you have been looking for? Yes, it

:10:10. > :10:14.was a good 40 minutes, in the second half we went off the boil but we

:10:15. > :10:20.were good for the win. The boys in the studio were impressed with the

:10:21. > :10:25.scramble defence. Credit: Castleford turned up with a game plan,

:10:26. > :10:29.controlling the ball. The referee allowed it and we have enough. We

:10:30. > :10:35.need to be better than that. We won't get help from the officials.

:10:36. > :10:38.They came with a smarter game plan and they stopped us from attacking

:10:39. > :10:43.our way but I think we were good for the win.

:10:44. > :10:50.That last try, I know it hasn't been Castleford's day, but the last one

:10:51. > :10:58.was exceptional. Tell you what, credit to Castleford, great from

:10:59. > :11:01.Monaghan, going to Crooks and that was a nice way for Castleford to

:11:02. > :11:07.finish. It has been Wigan's day, hasn't it? It has been, they have

:11:08. > :11:11.been superior and they scored the points in the first 40 minutes.

:11:12. > :11:15.Let's go back down because we can hear from Sam Tomkins. Just about

:11:16. > :11:20.receive the Ladbrokes man of the match champagne. Congratulations,

:11:21. > :11:25.Sam. What it is it like to be scoring in a Challenge Cup winning

:11:26. > :11:31.Wigan team? It is good, it is a special competition and it means a

:11:32. > :11:34.lot to us. A lot of us have experienced it before, so we know

:11:35. > :11:40.how good it is, winning at Wembley. What was the key today? I think it

:11:41. > :11:50.was completing, we completed 100%. We know that Castleford are a good

:11:51. > :11:59.team. The first half, we were good. Second half, we were scrappy for 20

:12:00. > :12:02.minutes. Well done, Sam. Cheers. Wigan have booked their place in the

:12:03. > :12:10.semifinal alongside Wakefield, Warrington and Hull FC. We will have

:12:11. > :12:15.the semifinal draw on the red button and the Forum coming up shortly, on

:12:16. > :12:23.the website, on the app and connected TV.

:12:24. > :12:51.We will also bring it to your website plenty more sport to come.

:12:52. > :12:59.It is a very busy day. Well done to Wigan. It has been quite an

:13:00. > :13:06.afternoon for them. Commiserations to Castleford. We will have the draw

:13:07. > :13:09.for the semifinal on the red button shortly. Four teams waiting to find

:13:10. > :13:14.out who they will be playing, with just one more game to get to

:13:15. > :13:16.Wembley. Quite an afternoon, these three will get more reaction and we

:13:17. > :13:21.will have more reaction from the teams. Why now, turn over to the red
