:00:48. > :00:58.The 120th year of the rugby league Challenge Cup. I could list the

:00:59. > :01:08.great names, the players, the clubs, the legends.

:01:09. > :01:28.I could talk about community, the togetherness, a sense of pride. I

:01:29. > :01:37.could talk about tough, rock-hard. I could talk about the sheer undoubted

:01:38. > :01:48.talent. Goodness, gracious me! He's scored! That is one sensational try.

:01:49. > :01:58.Listen to the noise! But I'm not going to because you know it.

:01:59. > :02:08.Welcome to Yorkshire for our coverage of the 2017 Challenge Cup.

:02:09. > :02:11.I try to get the directed to turn the camera towards Lancashire but

:02:12. > :02:16.she's from Yorkshire and she is flatly refusing. It could be a long

:02:17. > :02:22.old season. Anyhow, we have two of the great names in the sport to kick

:02:23. > :02:25.off our coverage. Castleford against St Helens in the sixth round of the

:02:26. > :02:31.Ladbrokes Challenge Cup from here, the Jungle. We will have all of the

:02:32. > :02:34.build-up to the match and the highlights of the games that have

:02:35. > :02:39.taken place so far this weekend in the cup, and we will have analysis

:02:40. > :02:49.of England's victory over Samoa last week. And we want you to get

:02:50. > :02:53.involved. Hashtag BBCRL for your comments across the social media

:02:54. > :03:03.platforms. This is how your coverage looks across the BBC this weekend.

:03:04. > :03:09.We will look forward to the World Cup from 4:30pm as well as bringing

:03:10. > :03:16.you interviews and reaction to today's game.

:03:17. > :03:23.I am delighted to say I have got three of the game's greats alongside

:03:24. > :03:27.me. Sam Tomkins from Wigan, former Leeds and England player, and Brian

:03:28. > :03:31.Noble, former coach of Great Britain. And does it feel like this

:03:32. > :03:35.tournament is particularly wide open this year? I think so. Just looking

:03:36. > :03:40.at the games from the start of the season, there have been shocks all

:03:41. > :03:44.over the place. Just looking at Huddersfield getting beaten by

:03:45. > :03:51.Swinton, it is wide open. It is good for everyone that any team could win

:03:52. > :03:56.it. And we say this most years, but it is important because we hope to

:03:57. > :04:00.have new viewers all the time, but unlike cup competitions in other

:04:01. > :04:04.sports, this is a priority for Super League clubs, for clubs across rugby

:04:05. > :04:08.league. It is not just about winning the Super League title. Very much

:04:09. > :04:12.though. It's true that comes with this competition is over 100 years

:04:13. > :04:17.old and it means everything to every club. For the leather gloves, it is

:04:18. > :04:21.like increasing revenue, like the FA Cup in football, but it is an

:04:22. > :04:29.opportunity for upsets. -- for the lower clubs. I don't know if we will

:04:30. > :04:33.get one today. The game today is mouthwatering. A humdinger. I don't

:04:34. > :04:38.think we could ask for a better game. To me and teams playing a

:04:39. > :04:41.brilliant brand of football. We will talk about the field than amides

:04:42. > :04:46.which are massively important today in relation to Castleford. -- the

:04:47. > :04:51.field dynamics. They have been up and down a bit but they can be the

:04:52. > :04:56.breathtaking team we talk about on their day. We will fight with the PA

:04:57. > :05:03.system at the Jungle for the next few minutes and we will also bring

:05:04. > :05:08.you the following. They have scored 83 ties so far this season, so we

:05:09. > :05:17.will show you just how Castleford do it. And how have they become the

:05:18. > :05:24.best of British? We will ask Darryl Powell the secret of their success.

:05:25. > :05:28.St Helens used to be number one by 2017 has been a nightmare. We will

:05:29. > :05:34.talk to three of their legends to find out what has gone wrong and how

:05:35. > :05:39.they put it right. And we will have highlights from some of the sixth

:05:40. > :05:45.round matches already played, including Hull who started their

:05:46. > :05:48.defence against Catalan last night. We will get into all things

:05:49. > :05:54.Challenge Cup in just a moment but first international rugby league,

:05:55. > :05:57.with England's World Cup starting in the autumn. Their preparations began

:05:58. > :06:03.last weekend when they took on Samoa.

:06:04. > :06:11.This is a big, early chance for England. Tackle number four. Back

:06:12. > :06:14.towards the posts. They probably could have done with more and they

:06:15. > :06:23.get more. Second phase. Hobson, look out. Ryan Hall doesn't need much

:06:24. > :06:30.instruction! He finds his way to the try line. That is an easy one. The

:06:31. > :06:46.32nd of his test career. Now Hodgson. For Gale. This is a big

:06:47. > :06:50.moment for Stefan Ratchford. He scores a try in his England jumper

:06:51. > :07:03.proudly worn. Stefan Ratchford goes over. Wigan born, over 200 games,

:07:04. > :07:07.and a try for England. This is their best chance to bring the crowd back

:07:08. > :07:18.into the contest. Slow playing the ball. Trying the power play and

:07:19. > :07:19.direct and he scored! And as he did for Samoa in 2013, he has got

:07:20. > :07:36.something going here. Now Laughlin unloading. Back to

:07:37. > :07:42.Brown. What a pass. To Gale. What the finish. The referee collided

:07:43. > :07:56.with a cover for Samoa. Hodgson has scored! England have their third

:07:57. > :08:02.try. They looked anxious. They lose all shape here. They all want to

:08:03. > :08:04.have a crack. They are trying their hearts out but it is not all that

:08:05. > :08:38.smart. He runs around Gale to score! Last tackle. England clearing

:08:39. > :08:43.wreckage. For which to James Graham. -- forward to James Graham. They are

:08:44. > :08:48.going to say try to James Graham. Brown has thrown it to James Graham

:08:49. > :08:52.to basically fall over the try line. If England was to score in the final

:08:53. > :09:01.minute, that would be some tasty icing on the cake. Hill with the

:09:02. > :09:05.ball. They are looking a bit dispirited, the Samoans. Heads down

:09:06. > :09:14.on the bench. Gale with the ball. Brown is going to get. And he does

:09:15. > :09:17.know how to score! Just like the first try that went to the left

:09:18. > :09:24.wing, the last one goes to the right wing. MacGillivray scores and the

:09:25. > :09:31.icing is most definitely on the cake now. Kevin, what should we take out

:09:32. > :09:35.of that win and that performance from an English perspective? I just

:09:36. > :09:39.think we should be massively positive. Only a few months out from

:09:40. > :09:41.the World Cup now. We should not underestimate how tough challenge

:09:42. > :09:46.that was for the English blokes to go out there in under a week and

:09:47. > :09:52.play against a full Samoa side, who are big, powerful and physical.

:09:53. > :09:55.Horrible out there. But they did a terrific job. Our performance was

:09:56. > :10:01.talk and cheese from the for nations. They looked composed. I

:10:02. > :10:05.don't think it was a good performance from anybody, so a

:10:06. > :10:08.massive tick. What have the guys that you have spoken to about that

:10:09. > :10:14.performance fed back to you? They have said the full week was positive

:10:15. > :10:18.and as Kevin touched on, we look good for it and solid for the win.

:10:19. > :10:22.Samoa are tough side and we looked dominant for the full 80 minutes and

:10:23. > :10:27.that is what we have lacked in internationals before. We have

:10:28. > :10:30.dominated and played well for 60 or 70 minutes and then lacked

:10:31. > :10:35.composure. But against Samoa, we looked in control for the full 80

:10:36. > :10:41.and things clicked and it couldn't have been better prep. I can't

:10:42. > :10:45.remember a better England performance on foreign soil. I would

:10:46. > :10:50.have to go right back until that Great Britain side in 2006 which got

:10:51. > :10:57.that win. I think it is right up there with that one. Wow. I agree

:10:58. > :11:00.with the boys on the positivity. I studied the Samoan team and I

:11:01. > :11:05.thought they had a game on their hands. To travel 30,000 miles and

:11:06. > :11:11.pull of that kind of performance shows an element of composure and

:11:12. > :11:16.patients going on. To put the cold on these two, my worry is... That is

:11:17. > :11:23.why we employ you, Brian, to dampen down the broadcasters! Being healthy

:11:24. > :11:27.at the end of the year and being fresh is very important when it

:11:28. > :11:31.comes to the World Cup. My worry was in the middle of the season when we

:11:32. > :11:37.have two weekend blocks on where players are playing in the Super

:11:38. > :11:42.League in a four day period, with mental pressures that puts on you,

:11:43. > :11:45.it is difficult and challenging. For example we had three people pull out

:11:46. > :11:49.and some people were not available through injury in the R.N. L. The

:11:50. > :11:53.final line-up might be the same but the essence of the squad will have

:11:54. > :11:56.been given more discipline in terms of moving forward and what Wayne

:11:57. > :12:04.expect in the World Cup. As an exercise, I probably got something

:12:05. > :12:09.is wrong, and it was worthwhile. Knowing how they performed and how

:12:10. > :12:16.they did, that has actually got rid of your doubts. Not entirely. I

:12:17. > :12:20.think you have got to pick inform players at the end of the season,

:12:21. > :12:24.players who are mentally fresh. And we won't know how it has affected

:12:25. > :12:30.them in the long term. Another double-digit weekend. I am an

:12:31. > :12:33.unbelievable fan of international football and the England team and

:12:34. > :12:38.they are doing well and it is positive. If two brays like this are

:12:39. > :12:41.telling me there are positive noises, they played some good stuff,

:12:42. > :12:44.then it has got to be worthwhile and I will take it on the chin but I

:12:45. > :12:48.just hope they recognise it by not be the final line because there are

:12:49. > :12:54.lots of good players when you pick an England team and form and help is

:12:55. > :13:01.essential. Hashtag BBCRL if you want to get in touch. This will form a

:13:02. > :13:05.big part of our discussion from 4:30pm on the red button. You are

:13:06. > :13:10.one of the players missing at the moment. How are you and what is the

:13:11. > :13:14.latest? I am coming on pretty well. I had the metalwork in my foot a few

:13:15. > :13:19.weeks ago and since that has gone I am running more freely. I have been

:13:20. > :13:27.running all week. About one month off now. I did want to push it.

:13:28. > :13:31.Having to hold back. It must be quite hard because it is a World Cup

:13:32. > :13:37.year. And the competition for places is fierce. That in patients must be

:13:38. > :13:46.hard for you to control, is it? Definitely. -- that impatience must

:13:47. > :13:50.be hard for you to control. I want to put on that jersey like I have

:13:51. > :13:54.done many times before. That is at the front of my mind when I am in

:13:55. > :13:58.training having a tough day, or in rehab doing things I don't want to

:13:59. > :14:01.be doing, at the end of the year I want to do everything I can and at

:14:02. > :14:05.the end of the season though I did everything I could to get my place.

:14:06. > :14:10.We have asked Brian and Sam to pick their squads for the opening game of

:14:11. > :14:15.the World Cup, so we will find out later whether Sam has put himself in

:14:16. > :14:19.the squad. In the starting 13 maybe for that first game of the World

:14:20. > :14:23.Cup! We can bring our attention back to the Challenge Cup, Castle but

:14:24. > :14:29.against St Helens is the game we are at which kicks off at 2:30pm. But

:14:30. > :14:36.games have been played so far. Let's round up the best of the action.

:14:37. > :14:40.Round 6 kicked off on Thursday night as Bellaston hosted Halifax. Heaton

:14:41. > :14:44.put Halifax ahead but the lead only lasted four minutes at Keele Carlyle

:14:45. > :14:49.spun out of a tackle to set up Davis. A brilliant finish from Scott

:14:50. > :14:53.Turner and then Anthony Thackery's drop goal gave the hosts a 7-point

:14:54. > :14:59.lead. Turner cleverly put the ball in the corner for his second try.

:15:00. > :15:12.Zachary kicked his second drop goal of the night before Josh

:15:13. > :15:20.Hardcastle's try Hull opened this one with a free-flowing move. Then

:15:21. > :15:23.this combination set up Griffin. The odds and Scott Taylor all went over

:15:24. > :15:30.this great work from Watts and Kelly. There was a 28 point lead at

:15:31. > :15:35.the break. Michaels dived over acrobatically in the corner for his

:15:36. > :15:42.third try. And collected short pass gave this player his second try in

:15:43. > :15:48.Hull colours. Thompson went over. Sean scored two late tries on his

:15:49. > :15:57.100th career appearance. And Connor grabbed a try to complete the round.

:15:58. > :16:03.This was the most Matic moment of last season, the million pounds drop

:16:04. > :16:08.goal that sent Hull Kingston Rovers down at the expense of Salford. The

:16:09. > :16:11.men from East Yorkshire had revenge on their minds last night and there

:16:12. > :16:17.couldn't have made a better start. Sean Howden from 60 metres after a

:16:18. > :16:20.scrum and followed that up by racing through unchallenged from ten metres

:16:21. > :16:25.to help the visitors opened up a 12 point lead. Ryan Allen went over

:16:26. > :16:29.just as the half-time was coming to close to reduce the deficit to eight

:16:30. > :16:36.points. Salford made a dream start after the break and the lead as they

:16:37. > :16:42.ran in under the posts, then followed by crisp riding going down

:16:43. > :16:53.the short side to score. Criswell and then knocked down a high kick to

:16:54. > :16:59.secure the victory was offered. -- to secure the victory for Salford.

:17:00. > :17:07.Confirmation of who has gone through so far. Wakefield thrashed Dewsbury

:17:08. > :17:12.last night as well. Those are the size through to the next round. Over

:17:13. > :17:26.this weekend, the games that you will be across involved cattle herd

:17:27. > :17:29.Wigan -- Castlford and Wigan. Now let's put this game into context for

:17:30. > :17:40.you as regards the Super League table. Castleford top, scoring tries

:17:41. > :17:43.for fun. Saints have not had a great season. They are mid table and

:17:44. > :17:53.fighting to qualify for the super eight. Now the team news for today's

:17:54. > :18:01.gain from Tanya. Castleford boast the two leading try scorer is in the

:18:02. > :18:06.Super League. They line up like this, with Zak Hardaker starting at

:18:07. > :18:09.full-back and playing in the centre for England. Jake Webster in the

:18:10. > :18:14.centre is fresh from signing a new one year deal. The big team news for

:18:15. > :18:21.Castleford is Tom Holmes starting alongside Luke Gale in the halves.

:18:22. > :18:27.Upfront, the evergreen Andy Lynch, their oldest player in the Super

:18:28. > :18:35.League, playing up front alongside MacShane. And look at the Jesse

:18:36. > :18:40.Sene-Lefao. There is no place in the 17 for Rangi Chase. As for St

:18:41. > :18:43.Helens, they welcome back Mark Percival and add a Montaly who

:18:44. > :18:52.travelled to Australia but did not play for England. -- ad while Alex

:18:53. > :19:04.Walmsley. James Roby is starting at hooker.

:19:05. > :19:08.They have captain Jon Wilkin on the bench. He pulled out at the last

:19:09. > :19:09.minute in last week's warm up and he is hoping to start the game today

:19:10. > :19:20.but he is heavily strapped up. Thank you very much, Tanya. Jon

:19:21. > :19:25.Wilkin leading things out for their warm up. We have shown you where

:19:26. > :19:30.they are in the table. Not a good season for them. There is a new head

:19:31. > :19:34.coach on the way as well. Our rugby league correspondent has been trying

:19:35. > :19:40.to find out what the problems are at the club.

:19:41. > :19:48.For 24 years there has been a constant around these parts. He grew

:19:49. > :19:58.up at the club in its most successful period. He came to define

:19:59. > :20:07.what the shirt was all about. Canning! -- Kieran Cunningham. When

:20:08. > :20:10.he was appointed head coach at St Helens in 2014 he seemed the obvious

:20:11. > :20:15.choice to take the club back to glory, carved in his own image. But

:20:16. > :20:19.a month ago the hometown hero was sacked. So what has gone wrong and

:20:20. > :20:27.how can St Helens get back to those glory days? When you first walked

:20:28. > :20:31.into that dressing room, were you told this is how we play at St

:20:32. > :20:36.Helens? I was told that we win and they expect nothing less. I joined

:20:37. > :20:40.Saints because of what we did on the field because of the players that

:20:41. > :20:44.were there. They were a successful club and I wanted to be part of

:20:45. > :20:48.that. One thing when I came to St Helens was that my skill had to be

:20:49. > :20:52.the best it could be because of the people in the squad. The people in

:20:53. > :20:56.the squad had high standards for my skill. I had to improve or I was

:20:57. > :21:00.gone and I think we need to get back to that. This seems at the moment

:21:01. > :21:03.seem to have gone along with quite a few clubs in the game, so that the

:21:04. > :21:09.game appears programmed from the first minute to the last. Almost the

:21:10. > :21:13.situation whereby we have lines drawn on a pitch and you stand there

:21:14. > :21:24.and you run there and in the 25th minute you take the bullpen. -- you

:21:25. > :21:28.take the ball then. Is a starter missing from the squad? Some of the

:21:29. > :21:37.Australians that I have played with at St Helens, whether we can still

:21:38. > :21:41.attract those players with the budgets that we have and the salary

:21:42. > :21:48.caps? I think the game has changed in that respect. Teams are having to

:21:49. > :21:52.bring players through. Ready or not. At the moment there is myself and

:21:53. > :21:58.James Roby and Matty Smith who have been to Wembley with Wigan but are

:21:59. > :22:01.not a lot of the other lads have had that connection with the cup and I

:22:02. > :22:05.think we need more winners. Either we win this trophy this year or we

:22:06. > :22:10.recruit more winners in. I think that is fundamental to improving

:22:11. > :22:16.standards. I think they need some more additions. A footballer, a

:22:17. > :22:20.ball-handling forward of the old-fashioned type, and I would also

:22:21. > :22:25.say in the back division as well, somebody with pace. There is talent

:22:26. > :22:31.there. Don't write them off. If they want, they can play rugby. The new

:22:32. > :22:36.coach. Will you have spoken with him or has anybody before Saturday? I

:22:37. > :22:41.think we have had some feedback indirectly. I think he is going to

:22:42. > :22:45.be a huge part of turning this club around. We are looking forward to

:22:46. > :22:49.having a new set of eyes on us because that is so powerful. When

:22:50. > :22:53.you are insular all the time it is very difficult to learn. This club

:22:54. > :22:59.is ready to look out and see what else is going on and bring the eyes

:23:00. > :23:05.from outside the club. Just be aware of the success of the club, just be

:23:06. > :23:10.aware of what the town is about. And the history of the way the game has

:23:11. > :23:14.been played in St Helens. If you got the chance to meet Justin Holbrook

:23:15. > :23:21.before he met the players, what would your advice be? Get rid of the

:23:22. > :23:29.diagrams. Simple as that. Play rugby. There are about 20 different

:23:30. > :23:32.themes that come out of that peace that we could discuss and debate and

:23:33. > :23:38.it would take is about an hour if not longer. The balance between

:23:39. > :23:45.being programmed and just playing rugby. Is it a fine balance? Yes,

:23:46. > :23:52.really fine balance. Different teams use it in different ways. Saints are

:23:53. > :23:55.known for it. They throw the ball around historically. They score some

:23:56. > :24:00.brilliant tries. Recently we have not seen as much as that from them.

:24:01. > :24:03.Whether the new coach who comes in will recapture that for Saints, I'm

:24:04. > :24:08.not sure. It seems like that is what worked for them for a long time. As

:24:09. > :24:13.far as the new coach is concerned, do you agree with Jon Wilkin that

:24:14. > :24:16.they need a fresh verified? Somebody from outside of Super League,

:24:17. > :24:22.outside the country, seeing what they are doing and how they are

:24:23. > :24:27.operating? -- do they need a fresh pair of eyes? We need someone with

:24:28. > :24:30.inside for the game. We saw Paul talking about the standard of

:24:31. > :24:35.overseas players not being what it was ten years ago or five years ago

:24:36. > :24:39.for Saints. And insight from the club as well, suggesting they are

:24:40. > :24:44.not getting it right for the fans. It is inside with purpose and they

:24:45. > :24:47.have done that. They have gone from Justin Holbrook from Australia who

:24:48. > :24:51.will change the dynamics. There is nothing wrong with playing football

:24:52. > :24:57.with purpose. If you have an idea behind what you are doing... We are

:24:58. > :25:00.at the Jungle today and they play a great brand of rugby league but it

:25:01. > :25:10.has purpose and people fail to see that. It is the principle is that go

:25:11. > :25:13.on. The fly drives and the kick, if it is more expensive, there are

:25:14. > :25:16.risks and rewards that come with every type of football. If you're

:25:17. > :25:21.prepared to throw the ball around then you have got to be prepared to

:25:22. > :25:24.bend your backs. It is interesting that Castleford bending their backs

:25:25. > :25:32.this year as well. The defence on top of their willingness to play

:25:33. > :25:37.good football. I wonder if it comes down to the basic fact that sport is

:25:38. > :25:40.cyclical and nobody can stay on top for ever. There is no example in

:25:41. > :25:48.history of anybody staying on top forever. Even the Wigan side

:25:49. > :25:51.eventually disappeared in a Challenge Cup. Manchester United in

:25:52. > :25:57.the Premier League, whatever, it is cyclical. Very much so. Saints are

:25:58. > :26:01.very good cup team. It is not very long ago that you look at

:26:02. > :26:05.Scunthorpe, Cunningham, Martin, and you can reel out a list of names

:26:06. > :26:11.that were fantastic at football and throwing the ball about and asking

:26:12. > :26:13.questions. You started this question with balance. And they need to get

:26:14. > :26:18.the balance right between structure and playing. You know when you have

:26:19. > :26:24.those club legends, and you will have seen it, the next couple of

:26:25. > :26:28.generations below will miss out because there are so many legends

:26:29. > :26:32.who continue to win. You have got to wait for the kids to come through to

:26:33. > :26:38.take on the mantle, don't you? There is always a transition phase. Leeds

:26:39. > :26:42.a few years ago, when there were people like Kevin, JP, they were

:26:43. > :26:46.going through that. When you lose three people like them out of your

:26:47. > :26:51.team, it is massive. A big year for Leeds to get young lads in. It

:26:52. > :26:54.wasn't great for them. The amount of experience young lads will have got

:26:55. > :27:01.that leaves will put them in good stead in a few years' time. -- at

:27:02. > :27:05.Leeds. I remember being at Wigan and we didn't get to the Grand Final and

:27:06. > :27:10.we lost at the semifinal and their year later we had fresh eyes on the

:27:11. > :27:14.team. We went on to win the league. Saints are not flying at the moment

:27:15. > :27:19.but it is not as though they are millions of miles away. What would

:27:20. > :27:23.you look like in your squad at club level in terms of balance? James

:27:24. > :27:31.Roby has a Challenge Cup in his history. What do you look for in a

:27:32. > :27:34.balanced squad? I will put something else into the mixture, staying

:27:35. > :27:40.healthy. It is massively important. If you look at the top squads at

:27:41. > :27:45.both teams, it is good but it is who manages the help of the teams and

:27:46. > :27:49.looks after the players. I answer it in a different way. They have been

:27:50. > :27:54.healthy all season long and that is a huge advantage. Let's hear from

:27:55. > :28:02.one of the interim head coach is here at St Helens. It has been a

:28:03. > :28:09.tough season for you so far. Are you scratching your head is that what

:28:10. > :28:15.has gone wrong this year? It has been up and down. We know what we

:28:16. > :28:18.can do to get better. There is uncertainty of the field with a head

:28:19. > :28:22.coach coming in in the next few weeks. We are trying to steer the

:28:23. > :28:27.ship as straight as we can and play the best we can with what we have

:28:28. > :28:30.got at hand. We have seen signs of improvement. We have been

:28:31. > :28:33.inconsistent which has been our problem all year but there has been

:28:34. > :28:37.good stuff in there. We have got to get more good stuff out and less bad

:28:38. > :28:42.stuff. How much talk has been going on between the coaching guys and

:28:43. > :28:46.Justin Holbrook this week? Has he had any input today? He has let us

:28:47. > :28:51.get on with it but it is difficult for him. He is being very supportive

:28:52. > :28:53.of myself and Sean and Derek. He has been on the phone a few times this

:28:54. > :29:01.week and given us advice here and there. He has been conscious of

:29:02. > :29:05.letting us get on with the job and making sure the players are fine

:29:06. > :29:09.today. Let's get an idea of how St Helens will play today. Our man on

:29:10. > :29:12.the touchline will talk us through their game plan.

:29:13. > :29:19.St Helens haven't started this season with the same as they would

:29:20. > :29:21.expect from themselves. But one player has been outstanding,

:29:22. > :29:25.literally head and shoulders above the rest of them, is this man here,

:29:26. > :29:30.Alex Walmsley. A big man, a big frame, and while I have his

:29:31. > :29:32.attention, quick question. How important is it today that you

:29:33. > :29:37.control the speed of the rugby and the middle of the park? It is

:29:38. > :29:44.important. We have seen all year has Castleford like to play. It is a big

:29:45. > :29:47.job for us to control that and give ourselves a good chance of defence.

:29:48. > :29:52.How has the team trained for the game this weekend? Motivation has

:29:53. > :29:55.been easy this week. It is a cup game and we have been off all week.

:29:56. > :29:59.It has been easy and we are looking forward to the game. We are looking

:30:00. > :30:03.forward to putting in a good performance and getting through

:30:04. > :30:08.hopefully. Good luck for today. A big man. When he carries the ball,

:30:09. > :30:11.he splits the defence. Keep an eye on him when he tries to get in

:30:12. > :30:16.behind the rug because he will be one of two things, split the defence

:30:17. > :30:20.or get a quick play of the ball, which is hugely important to St

:30:21. > :30:24.Helens. They need to go with him today. If they do play well

:30:25. > :30:27.consistently, together, they have the stroke power within the team to

:30:28. > :30:34.cause Castleford at the top of the Super League a lot of trouble. you

:30:35. > :30:39.can do all the analysis you want but sometimes we just want to watch

:30:40. > :30:43.tries and Castleford this season have scored lots and lots of them.

:30:44. > :31:03.Grab a cup of tea, put your feet up and enjoy.

:31:04. > :32:36.they are classy and they are the great entertainers this season in

:32:37. > :32:42.Super League. If you take a look at the Super League tries table, they

:32:43. > :32:49.are on 83, nearly double the number that St Helens have scored and

:32:50. > :32:52.nearly 30 ahead of their nearest rivals, Leeds. Are they going to

:32:53. > :32:58.just throw the ball around and score lots of tries today, here's Robbie

:32:59. > :33:01.again? When we talk about the Castleford Tigers team, normally the

:33:02. > :33:05.those we talk about other world-class halves in their squad,

:33:06. > :33:12.they are amazing, the talent they have. The guy that I want to focus

:33:13. > :33:16.on at this point in time is this man here, Junior Moore 's. He goes under

:33:17. > :33:21.the radar a little bit because we focus on the world-class halves they

:33:22. > :33:28.have but when he's got the ball in motion, he causes the opposition in

:33:29. > :33:32.problem. Good luck for today but just quickly, I just want to know,

:33:33. > :33:38.he has the team prepared for this weekend? Easy motivation for us.

:33:39. > :33:44.Fresh in our memory. How important is to have a good cup run because

:33:45. > :33:49.you going so in the league? It takes one game at a time. It takes that

:33:50. > :33:56.and we will take each game as it comes. When this guy is carrying the

:33:57. > :34:00.ball, he splits teams, Castleford went to get him into one-on-one

:34:01. > :34:09.position so they can play off the back of the quick play-the-balls.

:34:10. > :34:16.In all the praise of Castleford, Saints have beaten them this season.

:34:17. > :34:21.With it being the cup and hopefully Saints come here with freedom.

:34:22. > :34:30.Everybody had written them off this week. Take the shackles of fun,

:34:31. > :34:34.play. Throw some stuff on the pitch. Castleford are dangerous but

:34:35. > :34:39.brilliant players there. For all the Castleford do score lots of tries,

:34:40. > :34:44.they have also got the meanest defence. That has been the biggest

:34:45. > :34:48.improvement for Castleford, they have always been able to score a lot

:34:49. > :34:57.of tries. The Kameni Luke Dorn has scored. Not a problem when you play

:34:58. > :35:03.at the Jungle. This year, the defence has looked up to dear and

:35:04. > :35:08.that's why they are worthy art. You are on top, Wigan, when you played

:35:09. > :35:12.in first half and you couldn't break them down. They have a good

:35:13. > :35:16.defensive system and strong with it. The pressure for Castleford is to

:35:17. > :35:26.keep it up and not get carried away. Scored ATD tries but but they will

:35:27. > :35:33.soon dip. They are on the field throwing the ball around. That's not

:35:34. > :35:38.bad. I wish we could find more of that. Do you need me as your

:35:39. > :35:40.assistant? They throw a lot of shape at you and Sam has mentioned

:35:41. > :35:47.something that's usually important at this ground. They are prepared to

:35:48. > :35:51.run and pass. Castleford Tigers lot of good athletes and the support

:35:52. > :35:56.play is superb. Anybody that makes half a break generally supported by

:35:57. > :35:59.three or four players but they play good ships. We talked about purpose

:36:00. > :36:03.and process but they get to a certain part of the field and throw

:36:04. > :36:07.a lot of numbers at you, lots of players behind the line and they

:36:08. > :36:12.have the imagination to look up and click to see who is in space. They

:36:13. > :36:17.are the full package and that's because in this ground in particular

:36:18. > :36:20.they can play to the fringes because they are always in attacking

:36:21. > :36:25.positions. You have to hold your nerve. Saints's biggest challenge

:36:26. > :36:28.against this progress and support play, expansive football, all the

:36:29. > :36:33.front rowers have the ability to pass at the right time and you have

:36:34. > :36:37.people and the halves who go on the line and commit defenders and make

:36:38. > :36:42.pass play. You have to expect everything. You've got to manage

:36:43. > :36:47.this game if you are Saints because they go into spurts of tries as

:36:48. > :36:51.well, they score and a score again, so if you concede once you have to

:36:52. > :36:56.galvanise to what you do for the next five minutes. Unbeaten year

:36:57. > :37:00.this season, averaging over 50 points. You mentioned the pitch is

:37:01. > :37:04.short, we did a Challenge Cup game here when they played Salford and we

:37:05. > :37:07.discussed this. You will have they do, do you have to alter your game

:37:08. > :37:11.slightly because it is a shorter pitch? You have to prepared to

:37:12. > :37:17.defend your online quite a lot and play a lot of attacking rugby. For

:37:18. > :37:22.the figures it's easier to get out your own end. You don't spend a lot

:37:23. > :37:25.of time in yardage and if you got a decent kicker like both sides have,

:37:26. > :37:28.you put your foot through it on the other end of the field. It's

:37:29. > :37:33.different preparation, it does change. This year for the man who

:37:34. > :37:35.was responsible for turning Castleford into these great

:37:36. > :37:39.entertainers. Their head coach Daryl Powell.

:37:40. > :37:44.Your players are playing so well particularly here at home, did you

:37:45. > :37:50.get to sit back and enjoy the style with which they play. You are always

:37:51. > :37:57.thinking games can turn so quickly, so unless you get a really big lead,

:37:58. > :38:03.you just do your job. I enjoy watching the guys play. A little bit

:38:04. > :38:05.more than they have too. We have been playing with a lot of

:38:06. > :38:09.confidence and hopefully we can back that up. What has been the

:38:10. > :38:15.difference from last season. They played great attacking stuff. What

:38:16. > :38:19.has been the difference this season? A bit more of a cutting-edge. We

:38:20. > :38:22.have played well for quite a few years, defensively we've been so

:38:23. > :38:27.much better this year and we've been able to back up our errors by

:38:28. > :38:31.defending well. We had the desperation to keep teams out, so

:38:32. > :38:35.that's been the biggest difference. The counterattacking game has been

:38:36. > :38:37.growing and maturing in the last few years and this year we've had some

:38:38. > :38:42.games where we've really been outstanding. Today will be a tough

:38:43. > :38:46.game. They will be different. Whether we can impart that game on

:38:47. > :38:52.St Helens, they will be desperate for it today. Should be special. How

:38:53. > :38:55.do you feel with how the club have developed since you made the

:38:56. > :39:01.Challenge Cup final in 2014? It's been significant. When I first came

:39:02. > :39:05.in 2013, people were saying to me why would you take that poisoned

:39:06. > :39:08.chalice of a job for stuff for me it was the ideal job, you could see the

:39:09. > :39:19.development, this is a rugby town are known -- bar none, died in the

:39:20. > :39:23.wool, Castleford. The town has grown in terms of its love for Castleford

:39:24. > :39:25.and our ability to play rugby league has announced all of that. The

:39:26. > :39:29.business has gone well with the people behind the scenes. We are

:39:30. > :39:34.growing every year which is positive for us. Three players off with

:39:35. > :39:38.England, Luke Gale seems to have cemented his place at number seven

:39:39. > :39:44.for England. I have you developed him as a player since he came in

:39:45. > :39:49.because he is in charge now? He's a typical half-backs. Got a lot of

:39:50. > :39:54.confidence about him. Got the skill set to be able to play at

:39:55. > :39:58.half-backs. Got the voice. The booming voice, he is confident in

:39:59. > :40:04.his own ability. He's developed in all sorts of ways, his patience is

:40:05. > :40:08.much better nowadays than when he first came. He has fitted in and

:40:09. > :40:12.grabbed hold of the way we play and he is a pivotal part but there are

:40:13. > :40:18.many other people in there as well doing a fantastic job. He is the

:40:19. > :40:26.controller and she found us a special job for us in that regard.

:40:27. > :40:30.What a job he has done. He's been some. The man of steel today, his

:40:31. > :40:34.combination with Zach Hardaker was always interesting for me to see how

:40:35. > :40:44.they would get on but they have hit it off and they've been incredible.

:40:45. > :40:48.I'd like to mention. He's a schema, an old-fashioned style dummy half

:40:49. > :40:52.but he gets the best set of Luke Gale and knows when to give him the

:40:53. > :40:58.ball. The head to head for Luke Gale and Patti Smith. We can have a look

:40:59. > :41:05.at the stats which shows what a great season Luke Gale has had. You

:41:06. > :41:09.know Matty Smith, he was at Wigan, no one seems, are you surprised he

:41:10. > :41:17.has struggled a bit this season. The form of St Helens, down to Matty

:41:18. > :41:21.Smith, on his day he is one of the best in the country and he's playing

:41:22. > :41:26.internationally to prove it. Both these lads have a similar role, they

:41:27. > :41:34.gave the team and they kick which is a huge part of the game when you

:41:35. > :41:41.play here. Watching Luke Gale play internationals, he has to get one

:41:42. > :41:45.over him today. Bluegill is playing in a confident team, the support

:41:46. > :41:48.game becomes easier, the kicking becomes easier and with the

:41:49. > :41:54.challenge Saints have got the third form Matty Smith has to dig deep and

:41:55. > :41:58.find a lot of players. They have had some injuries in and around there.

:41:59. > :42:05.Tough season for Matty Smith. A couple of the wingers that we will

:42:06. > :42:12.watch this afternoon. Reagan Grace, the young lad on the wing for St

:42:13. > :42:20.Helens. 15 tries. He has not played that many games and he has already

:42:21. > :42:27.got plus 18 tackles. He has bounced onto the scene. Came over to the DW

:42:28. > :42:36.Stadium, his first game, nobody knew anything of him. Didn't do any

:42:37. > :42:41.preparation on him. He was on-farm. Ran 200 metres and we knew nothing

:42:42. > :42:47.of him and he's a great product. It's exciting. Very much so, you're

:42:48. > :42:56.looking at the back three for Castleford. You have Reagan Grace.

:42:57. > :43:03.I'm looking forward to seeing him today. We are in rugby league

:43:04. > :43:04.heartland on the BBC this afternoon. Castleford Tigers Saints in the

:43:05. > :43:34.sixth round of the Challenge Cup. There it is, the Ladbrokes Challenge

:43:35. > :43:44.Cup and the first game of what we hope will be a memorable tournament

:43:45. > :43:47.across the BBC for you. Just a word on Castleford as we wait for the

:43:48. > :43:52.team to promote, the town has a population of about 40,000, 10,000

:43:53. > :43:59.and watch them here at the Jungle. You might call me a sentimental old

:44:00. > :44:05.fool, but this is what British sport is about. Mark, you sentimental old

:44:06. > :44:14.full, absolutely. A vote of the population in a community club. This

:44:15. > :44:16.is the heartbeat of our game and its one of the clubs that have been

:44:17. > :44:22.successful over the years with their community spirit and this particular

:44:23. > :44:25.ground as well brings a brand of football that is recognise right

:44:26. > :44:29.across the globe. The same for St Helens, right in the heart of the

:44:30. > :44:34.community and the two clash this afternoon, so let's bring in our

:44:35. > :44:36.commentary team, Jonathan Davies alongside the BBC's rugby league

:44:37. > :44:44.correspondent, Dave Woods. COMMENTATOR: This is a game that had

:44:45. > :44:50.simply can't wait stamped all over it from the moment the tie was

:44:51. > :44:54.drawn. There is a real lip licking gobsmacking potential to this one.

:44:55. > :45:00.It could be terrific today, it really cute. Castleford have been

:45:01. > :45:03.running in tries for fun but don't write off St Helens because they

:45:04. > :45:08.have already beating Castleford back on Easter Monday and they will have

:45:09. > :45:16.a certain determination about them as well. Jon Wilkin will start the

:45:17. > :45:20.day on the bench. The Castleford players, most if not all have scored

:45:21. > :45:27.at least one of their 83 tries so far this season. Alex Walmsley at

:45:28. > :45:32.the tall fellow who went all the way to Sydney and back without playing a

:45:33. > :45:36.game, Mark Percival, his team-mate at the centre likewise. Run the

:45:37. > :45:40.world in eight days and nothing to show but a suntan but I'm sure

:45:41. > :45:44.they'll be hoping that they can reproduce their recent Super League

:45:45. > :45:53.form again today in the Challenge Cup, the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup. So

:45:54. > :45:56.how do they line up? The Castleford side, three players on England duty

:45:57. > :46:01.in Sydney last week, all Star today. Zach Hardaker, Luke Gale and Minikin

:46:02. > :46:08.and 21-year-old Tom Holm stars only his second game of the season at

:46:09. > :46:15.stand-off. Interesting selection with Roberts on the bench. The

:46:16. > :46:27.winger Reagan Grace mixes six successive appearance.

:46:28. > :46:33.Here is our referee for the day, Mr Phil Bentham. We have a video

:46:34. > :46:41.referee as well, Robert Hicks and we will hear from them should the need

:46:42. > :46:45.arise at any point. Mr Craven and Mr Roberts are the two touch judges and

:46:46. > :46:51.Zach Hardaker is the man to get us under way. Both entertainers these

:46:52. > :46:57.two teams by reputation. Castleford have lived up to all of that in

:46:58. > :47:01.thrilling fashion all season long. Is today the time St Helens caulk

:47:02. > :47:07.their fizz. Good time to do it, stage like this, cup competition.

:47:08. > :47:10.This is the time and everybody in rugby league gets excited because

:47:11. > :47:15.the realisation dawns on you, you win this round of 16, you are two

:47:16. > :47:18.games away from a Wembley appearance and I'm certain there will be a

:47:19. > :47:28.great spectacle on show with that goal in sight. Great place to play,

:47:29. > :47:32.great atmosphere. You know what Castleford will bring and they play

:47:33. > :47:35.with a lot of confidence. As a St Helens player you have to close them

:47:36. > :47:40.down, disrupt them on the kick and chase has to be good and you can try

:47:41. > :47:47.and blame them. What a kick and chase that was. The referee decided

:47:48. > :47:50.there was no Castleford Tigers show a bit of enterprise from St Helens

:47:51. > :47:54.with that kick. Castleford a little bit cautious but they have got away

:47:55. > :48:01.with it. Great kick, kicked short or Zach Hardaker into the space and

:48:02. > :48:05.reading by St Helens. It's certainly a good place to turnover was that

:48:06. > :48:08.you have a set defensive of so they can really get off the line and put

:48:09. > :48:15.some pressure on the Castleford ball-carriers. Greg Eden on the

:48:16. > :48:19.first occasion trying to burst things through and St Helens are

:48:20. > :48:22.caught of side and they don't want to give too many penalties are

:48:23. > :48:27.winnable seat Castleford inside the St Helens half. Line speed is very

:48:28. > :48:32.important, you can't give simple penalties away. This is the first

:48:33. > :48:37.real attacking opportunity for Castleford. It's a really colourful

:48:38. > :48:43.occasion looking down there. The white and red St Helens, the gold

:48:44. > :48:47.and black of Castleford. It's noisy as well and it will get noisier as

:48:48. > :48:55.the day goes on. McShane at dummy half. Andy Lynch will roll it

:48:56. > :49:02.forward. 20 metres away. Great position that Castleford find

:49:03. > :49:07.themselves in. Holmes puts it back. Hardaker, left of Shenton. Good

:49:08. > :49:16.defence from St Helens. But Castleford are moving in. Lynch has

:49:17. > :49:24.to take it in hard. Plenty of fight about him, all this fancy dan stuff,

:49:25. > :49:28.they have plenty of grip. Gale with the pass away and grabbing at thin

:49:29. > :49:36.air as Shenton goes on to score the game's first try with barely three

:49:37. > :49:43.minutes played. Absolutely clinical from the Castleford Tigers. Really

:49:44. > :49:48.top-quality work as Jonathan Davies said, penalty, you give away the

:49:49. > :49:52.penalty, you concede field position, you could Castleford in great

:49:53. > :49:56.attacking shape and my word they have taken full advantage. You can

:49:57. > :50:00.see there, offside at the play-the-ball, trying to cut down

:50:01. > :50:06.the Castleford ball-carriers's time and space but what a well executed

:50:07. > :50:10.play. Luke Gale perfectly just a lie at the centre, Michael Shenton, to

:50:11. > :50:16.get on the outside of the St Helens defence. Superb. Outside Morgan and

:50:17. > :50:21.that is the gap he goes through other great try. After a very good

:50:22. > :50:26.defensive set from a good play by Castleford, Morgan just showed

:50:27. > :50:31.himself, he went early, caught himself in no man's land and the

:50:32. > :50:36.pass on the outside shoulder just put Shenton end, had to stand off a

:50:37. > :50:38.little bit and hold the line. As far as England are concerned, Michael

:50:39. > :50:42.Shenton is the forgotten man of the moment. He played in the first test,

:50:43. > :50:48.his last appearance in the first test against Samoa in the four

:50:49. > :50:52.nations two years ago and has been overlooked since but the way he has

:50:53. > :50:58.played this season. He is 31 later this year. I wonder if he might be

:50:59. > :51:05.somebody who catches the eye before the World Cup squad is announced.

:51:06. > :51:12.The kick, trying to fit in but has put it wide. It remains 4-0. Michael

:51:13. > :51:16.Shenton, discuss. Certain he would be far away, when Bent and is clued

:51:17. > :51:19.up, he knows he can play in the left-centre position as he

:51:20. > :51:24.demonstrated so well with that bounce line in the last minute to

:51:25. > :51:27.score of the outset of Morgan. What Brian Noble said at the end of the

:51:28. > :51:31.year, when there is a big competition you need a big form

:51:32. > :51:36.player and the way Castleford are playing, he's going to be in the

:51:37. > :51:39.frame. An awful season last year when he was injured in the first

:51:40. > :51:43.game, Michael Shenton but what a year he's having this year. That's

:51:44. > :51:46.his sixth try in his 12th appearance. St Helens, what have

:51:47. > :51:51.they got, looking for a big response in defence on this tiny pitch,

:51:52. > :51:54.looking to keep Castleford deep inside their own half and making a

:51:55. > :52:00.decent fist of it with the opening three tackles. Millington put down.

:52:01. > :52:05.Less than 15 away. McShane goes left. Milner steps.

:52:06. > :52:19.Good effort so far, the one picked up from McShane. The off-load sees

:52:20. > :52:28.Castleford continue. Back to Gale, big boot from him. Beneath it it is

:52:29. > :52:33.caught safely by Makinson and St Helens can give themselves a pat on

:52:34. > :52:37.the back. As Sam Tomkins indicated in the build-up to the game, even

:52:38. > :52:42.though they restricted Castleford's ball-carriers there was a kid and St

:52:43. > :52:49.Helens started their set within ten metres of the goal-line. As a

:52:50. > :52:57.kicker, you enjoy coming here,. The crowd is on top of you. Small field.

:52:58. > :53:07.Percival running into the gap and he's intercepted. Tom Holmes Hazard.

:53:08. > :53:10.Hardaker now. -- has it back. That's a shame because they stripped

:53:11. > :53:15.Castleford, got on the outside, good work by Holmes, the young half-backs

:53:16. > :53:21.caught between the ball carrier and support player and picked off the

:53:22. > :53:22.pass. May concern is holding his chest, he might have injured

:53:23. > :53:46.himself. -- Makinson. Here's Lynch. The next will be the

:53:47. > :53:56.last year for Castleford in this set. Steepling high. Pushed out of

:53:57. > :54:01.the way. You can't do that. That's clueless, what is running through

:54:02. > :54:08.his head? It was blatant to everybody in the ground. Just pushes

:54:09. > :54:14.him. Hang on, case for the defence, might be a collision with Morgan,

:54:15. > :54:18.might have been his own man. Not as obvious. Whoever is underneath the

:54:19. > :54:25.ball and going to catch it, they tend to look after them. They

:54:26. > :54:30.certainly do and rightly so. Like the goalkeepers in football, can't

:54:31. > :54:37.touch them any more. Seven minutes play, one tries so far. St Helens

:54:38. > :54:40.looking for a response but having to start from deep but in reality, that

:54:41. > :54:47.far away from the line because of the proportions here. Roby and at

:54:48. > :54:48.dummy half, has got some eagerness to his left, will run himself for a

:54:49. > :55:03.while and Smith gets us on to Fages. Asking a lot, Mach Douglas

:55:04. > :55:09.was expecting that, the bowl is built and Castleford switching the

:55:10. > :55:15.on button and looking to attack. The one thing you have to do is complete

:55:16. > :55:19.your sets. You can spill the ball and the previous two sense they have

:55:20. > :55:24.given the ball away and given Castleford good field position to

:55:25. > :55:28.start. Millington. Cast your memory back to last year in the Challenge

:55:29. > :55:34.Cup tie be covered against Salford, Millington was playing in the

:55:35. > :55:37.halves. With Paul McShane. The off-load has gone to ground, zero

:55:38. > :55:46.tackle and Castleford get it back again. Morgan who neutralises the

:55:47. > :55:50.situation. He then feed for Castleford. The Saints are under the

:55:51. > :55:55.cosh at the minute. Possession and territory going against them and

:55:56. > :56:04.play the ball coming to make the tackle. Ricocheted off the hand. Got

:56:05. > :56:13.to be patient. You're not trying to score every time you go wide. Staff

:56:14. > :56:24.Castleford of possession. -- star of Castleford of possession.

:56:25. > :56:33.Sean Long makes up the trio looking after Castleford before Justin

:56:34. > :56:38.Holbrook takes over. Ten away. Ripple of and has the Castleford

:56:39. > :56:43.fans. Morgan got a hand on it and knocked it forward. Almost got the

:56:44. > :56:49.intercept. You lament you can see his reading defensively is correct

:56:50. > :56:54.-- you can see. Needed to do something because once again they

:56:55. > :56:59.created numbers on the outside. Shut out of the line and they wanted to

:57:00. > :57:05.Rio bowl in but at least he diffused the attacking situation from

:57:06. > :57:13.Castleford. If he doesn't get that ball it is try time. They are asking

:57:14. > :57:20.questions of the right-hand side. Have a look at the position in the

:57:21. > :57:24.early stages but first ten minutes, 64% possession and 72% territory.

:57:25. > :57:32.Enjoying a little bit more of both now. Five tackles for Castleford. To

:57:33. > :57:40.unpick the St Helens door. Driven in by Lynch. St Helens defending on

:57:41. > :57:47.their own line. Holmes, look at the numbers. Webster. It almost seems

:57:48. > :57:53.too easy. Jake Webster walking through. Congratulations to the man

:57:54. > :57:57.who created it. Didn't get the numbers right defensively. It was a

:57:58. > :58:01.simple play, just got the numbers wrong on they waltzed through. They

:58:02. > :58:09.have to communicate, pool defenders when they are short. Such an easy

:58:10. > :58:16.walk for Webster. The play-the-ball as you rightly state, that was at

:58:17. > :58:20.the post, so you expect a split. Really it was man on man and when

:58:21. > :58:24.its man on man, four against four with such space, there's bound to be

:58:25. > :58:30.some problems on your own line. There is the error by Morgan. Chills

:58:31. > :58:39.to come out of the line to close it. These are the numbers. Four against

:58:40. > :58:43.four. Some ship from Castleford, so difficult to defend when its man on

:58:44. > :58:48.man at slip when you're on your online and there's so much space.

:58:49. > :58:55.Make hay while the sun shines. You have to have questions from the

:58:56. > :59:03.defence. As a St Helens supporter and coach, you would expect the to

:59:04. > :59:10.drop off and block the runner. You suspect Justin Holbrook is watching

:59:11. > :59:14.this and there will be smoke coming from his pencil in the first ten

:59:15. > :59:21.minutes. Possession, territory and on the scoreboard. Luke Gale looking

:59:22. > :59:31.to take Castleford into double figures, which he does with relative

:59:32. > :59:38.ease. 10-0. Webster the try scorer. Seventh of the year. Looking a bit

:59:39. > :59:42.nonplussed at the moment. They will be because it's been a barrage of

:59:43. > :59:46.pressure and that man is so important to St Helens. One of the

:59:47. > :59:51.senior players, out on the field and has two lead from the front. My

:59:52. > :59:55.word, there are questions being asked of this St Helens team

:59:56. > :00:02.already. Have had no possession and Northern Territory, have they?

:00:03. > :00:07.Talking about English centres, Jake Webster is a British citizen these

:00:08. > :00:14.days. Former Kiwi International, so they might not go with him. This is

:00:15. > :00:18.McShane. Millington again. Jonathan, you write saying they have had no

:00:19. > :00:27.possession. Made four errors already. Exactly. You just can't

:00:28. > :00:34.spill the ball over. In a cup game, keep possession. Field position,

:00:35. > :00:42.staff Castleford, especially when you know they are on fire.

:00:43. > :00:59.Gale's kick, which grace will pick up. He is a superstar in the making.

:01:00. > :01:03.He is a superstar. They know the field so well. They are constantly

:01:04. > :01:10.making St Helens start in their own centre zone. Davis is definitely

:01:11. > :01:16.looking forward to that one tomorrow! The only fixture he can go

:01:17. > :01:21.to without anybody abusing him! Warrington and Widnes fans actually

:01:22. > :01:28.quite like him! Percival trying to keep it alive. At least money back

:01:29. > :01:37.on the gamble but it didn't quite come off or go wrong. Look at this,

:01:38. > :01:42.the path on the inside. Looking to attack deep inside their own half.

:01:43. > :01:46.The transition from defence into attack of Castleford is the best in

:01:47. > :01:49.the league without a shadow of a doubt. As soon as they have sold

:01:50. > :01:56.their defensive problems, the foot goes down and they try to attack

:01:57. > :02:00.immediately. They put it through their hands. It is very simple but

:02:01. > :02:06.very effective. Near the halfway line, it makes it very easy for

:02:07. > :02:16.Gale. There is a vibrancy and verve about Castleford at the moment.

:02:17. > :02:29.Milliken has got to come inside -- Greg Minikin. Suddenly St Helens

:02:30. > :02:35.have a bit of relief. There is a new role, brought into Super League and

:02:36. > :02:39.the Challenge Cup. If you catch the ball inside your own in-goal area,

:02:40. > :02:43.you get seven tackles. On a full pitch like this, inevitably it means

:02:44. > :02:49.St Helens will have good attacking options later. It is a good change

:02:50. > :02:58.because the kicking has got to be precise now. Alex Walmsley is doing

:02:59. > :03:06.well. Many of us were surprised he wasn't in the England 17 last week.

:03:07. > :03:10.St Helens looking to build foundations here. They have a couple

:03:11. > :03:19.of plays still to go with 15 yards to cover. Morgan. He will be held at

:03:20. > :03:25.right there. Last play for St Helens. Best attacking position they

:03:26. > :03:29.have been in for a while. Matty Smith, keeper extraordinaire. He

:03:30. > :03:32.tries to measure it and does well but it bounces awkwardly. Referee

:03:33. > :03:38.says play on. James Roby tries to make the tackle. You can see the

:03:39. > :03:44.benefit of that tackle that. Ask the question on the right and then a

:03:45. > :03:46.good kick. Tried to land it on Tom Holmes, one of the smallest

:03:47. > :03:55.Castleford players, landing at right on his head. Challenging for the

:03:56. > :04:02.ball. He has gone under the radar this year, hasn't he, Milner? The

:04:03. > :04:04.enthusiasm man for Castleford but he is a man that leads the defensive

:04:05. > :04:20.line, believe you me. I kick again from Gale, into the

:04:21. > :04:25.corner. Putting it right there. Grace, what have you got? This is a

:04:26. > :04:31.dart and a dive and he gets back to safety. Well done, the young winger.

:04:32. > :04:39.They all look so comfortable. The ball has been stolen by Millington

:04:40. > :04:44.who touches down! Pockets picked but not confirmed as a score yet.

:04:45. > :04:47.Referee is going for the big screen. Were there too many in the tackle?

:04:48. > :04:58.You think there might have been but we will get it definitively from the

:04:59. > :05:03.video referee. OK. The decision is no try. We are checking whether the

:05:04. > :05:20.ball is stolen two on one. In goes personal. Milner comes into the

:05:21. > :05:24.attacker. -- in goes Mark Percival. Is Milner still holding? That

:05:25. > :05:27.becomes a new tackle. The ball is stolen by Millington there. Have we

:05:28. > :05:34.got another angle from the other side to see if any player is on him

:05:35. > :05:41.when the ball is stolen? The line decision is no try. We are into a

:05:42. > :05:52.new tackle and that is play on. Incomes Millington. He appears to

:05:53. > :05:55.start to steal the ball. Jesse Sene-Lefao's arm is on him when the

:05:56. > :05:59.ball comes out, so there would be two men in the tackle, so the

:06:00. > :06:10.decision of no try would be correct. I am going to confirm the line

:06:11. > :06:16.decision of no try. Penalty. That is such a lucky call for St Helens. The

:06:17. > :06:23.hand came in, he lost the ball. A loose carry. That is so lucky for St

:06:24. > :06:31.Helens. I think Daryl Powell's face says it all. I think it is the right

:06:32. > :06:36.decision but only just. Instead of conceding potentially six points, St

:06:37. > :06:48.Helens have got the penalty to clear the lines and remain at only ten. A

:06:49. > :07:00.chance to rebuild again here. Mark Percival. James Roby. James Roby has

:07:01. > :07:12.regained it this season. On the injury bench. Back on the inside.

:07:13. > :07:17.James Roby goes left. Alex Walmsley with him once again. Trying to

:07:18. > :07:19.wrestle the path clear. He needed a machete to get through those

:07:20. > :07:28.Castleford players. Better from things. Smith. Alex Walmsley again.

:07:29. > :07:35.No Swift pass. Throwing his body at the situation. Down he goes. Matty

:07:36. > :07:42.Smith again. Again the cake. Again looking to measure it. Eden goes up

:07:43. > :07:47.and in midair Morgan catches that ball away from the Castleford man.

:07:48. > :07:58.No questions this time and St Helens have got their score. An referee

:07:59. > :08:05.decisions, it is allowed try at one end -- an referee decisions, a

:08:06. > :08:13.disallowed try at one end and now four points for them. There is

:08:14. > :08:19.nothing in that. Very lucky. St Helens have not looked very

:08:20. > :08:25.dangerous. Beautiful kick, well timed, that is try, simple as. An

:08:26. > :08:31.excellent kick. Matty Smith really does put it on a sixpence. And I

:08:32. > :08:35.like Morgan's attempt. He times it very well. Outstretched arms and a

:08:36. > :08:49.good try. He didn't just jumped very high. He got in front, the winger,

:08:50. > :08:53.and he brought it down. They haven't had any opportunities, going against

:08:54. > :08:57.the run of play. But once they have got there, once the ball goes up and

:08:58. > :09:05.it is competitive and to compete for it, anything can happen.

:09:06. > :09:14.Mark Percival looking to narrow the gap to just four.

:09:15. > :09:27.Plenty of expectation all around the Jungle as Mark Percival just puts it

:09:28. > :09:33.wide. It remains 10-4. Disappointment in the eyes of the

:09:34. > :09:37.Castleford players. Danny absolutely ripping into the Castleford players,

:09:38. > :09:42.telling them to keep their eyes on the job. -- Daryl Powell ripping

:09:43. > :09:48.into the players. He is making sure they are focused on the job at hand.

:09:49. > :09:55.The coach is not happy. His assistant beside him. Robins of

:09:56. > :09:58.discontent all around the stadium but St Helens fans will be

:09:59. > :10:03.encouraged by what they have seen in the last three minutes. They will be

:10:04. > :10:07.encouraged by that play but not by the fact that Ben Roberts has

:10:08. > :10:11.entered the fray. He has swapped with Tom Holmes. He will be playing

:10:12. > :10:15.with pivotal spot and he is a handful. We watch out for his left

:10:16. > :10:22.foot, Ben Roberts, with his kicking game. Can Matty Smith unlock

:10:23. > :10:31.Castleford's defence? Roberts will be similar. 40 metres out. Last play

:10:32. > :10:39.here. Matty Smith again. Zak Hardaker. I is on the job. Simple

:10:40. > :10:44.take. What comes next? The chase from things is good and very close

:10:45. > :10:50.to the line. Castleford fans want a penalty for hanging on. His arm was

:10:51. > :10:55.swinging. They have worked their way back into the game, St Helens. They

:10:56. > :11:01.have caught them out, gaining field position and this is more like the

:11:02. > :11:07.cup tie that we expected. They have got to keep them coming from deep.

:11:08. > :11:13.Making Castleford work. Slightly different in their own 20 metre

:11:14. > :11:23.area. The off-load came with a little one back towards Ben Roberts.

:11:24. > :11:28.Gale with a kick, looking for a bit of territory here. A wonderful kick.

:11:29. > :11:36.St Helens have got a job to do again. And it is being done superbly

:11:37. > :11:39.well here. Wonderful break from Tom Makinson from behind his own life.

:11:40. > :11:49.He is still going here, all the way to the halfway. What a recovery run

:11:50. > :11:53.that was. And a penalty. As John said, they have certainly pulled

:11:54. > :11:57.themselves back into this game. Holding possession, getting

:11:58. > :12:01.position. That was a magnificent piece of individual play from Tom

:12:02. > :12:05.Makinson. First of all the magnificent carry up to the halfway

:12:06. > :12:10.line. Then urgency to bring the ball back into play, the quick play of

:12:11. > :12:16.the ball, resulting in Castleford having a second effort. That one

:12:17. > :12:21.play from behind their own line to 20 metres away from the Castleford

:12:22. > :12:24.line. Great play. Matty Smith was barking out orders and instructions

:12:25. > :12:30.to his team-mates before he kicked the ball out of play. They know what

:12:31. > :12:37.comes next. A couple of settlers and then play as they try to drag

:12:38. > :12:40.themselves back level. It is taken by Luke Douglas, the Scottish

:12:41. > :12:47.international. What great formation they had last autumn. Matty Smith

:12:48. > :12:53.again. Back into the hands of Tom Aikens -- Tom Makinson. Castleford's

:12:54. > :12:58.defence has been much improved but this is the test. Can they withstand

:12:59. > :13:05.the St Helens pressure? They try to take it in and create space. Roberts

:13:06. > :13:12.all over him. Matty Smith back again. Thompson with an honest

:13:13. > :13:22.effort. But only one play to go. A dummy! And very close, very, very

:13:23. > :13:27.close. The referee? Does he think it is close enough question to be

:13:28. > :13:31.asked? He does. Going to the video referee again. Again he says no try.

:13:32. > :13:37.It is all about whether he hits the or not. Robert Hicks will give you

:13:38. > :13:44.the answer. The line decision is no try. OK. Tackle. Looking to see if

:13:45. > :13:51.the ball hits the line. Taia takes the ball. If we can go slow here?

:13:52. > :14:00.Short. Dirty then go to the line with the ball? -- does he then go to

:14:01. > :14:06.the line? That could be touching the line. In fact it is touching the

:14:07. > :14:16.line. Can we take that replay back? It does hit the line. OK. Keep going

:14:17. > :14:22.back. It has only got to touch the line. There we go. Go slowly now.

:14:23. > :14:26.Does that ball then hit the line? The line decision is no try so I

:14:27. > :14:29.need sufficient evidence to prove it has touched the line. The ball is

:14:30. > :14:41.out of shot I haven't seen it hit the line yet. Have we any other

:14:42. > :14:45.angle to show bit on the line? If you pause it there, that now is on

:14:46. > :14:54.the line. Can I see it at full speed, please? Yes, please. I have

:14:55. > :15:07.got to check now whether it is double movement so we have got to

:15:08. > :15:10.see it at full speed. I am OK with that. I haven't got sufficient

:15:11. > :15:20.evidence. The line decision is no try and I will go with a turnover.

:15:21. > :15:29.I had a tape to say you can't argue with that decision. -- I hate to say

:15:30. > :15:32.that you can't argue with that decision by Jonathan is poised. I

:15:33. > :15:36.think the ball did touch the line, whether it is momentum or not. At

:15:37. > :15:43.normal speed there is a bit of momentum there. I thought it was

:15:44. > :15:49.either a try or a penalty to Castleford, one or the other. One or

:15:50. > :15:55.the other, you are right. Saturday afternoon, watching rugby league and

:15:56. > :15:59.arguing! I think if it was a try on the field, you would have given it.

:16:00. > :16:09.That is how important the referee's call is on that occasion. Roberts

:16:10. > :16:18.has entered the fray. And Junior Moors. Looking pretty strong. They

:16:19. > :16:23.must be thinking that they have stolen momentum away from

:16:24. > :16:29.Castleford. Put the big boys on. The kick is more than sufficient. Very

:16:30. > :16:34.good. That is clever. That has taken this bit of a mentor that St Helens

:16:35. > :16:37.had built. Rolling over the sideline, walking to the scrum,

:16:38. > :16:45.getting oxygen in their lungs and composing themselves. Very clever

:16:46. > :16:51.scrum. It shows how important it is to keep possession. Keep your

:16:52. > :16:54.possession, finish the set, put pressure on the position and that is

:16:55. > :16:59.what Saints have done. They haven't created a lot from the possession

:17:00. > :17:06.but it has starved Castleford of being on the front foot. 12 times

:17:07. > :17:13.Challenge Cup winners, St Helens. They haven't been in the final since

:17:14. > :17:17.2008. Tough route to Wembley this year for them if they get there

:17:18. > :17:20.because they have got to overcome the Castleford team. The last time

:17:21. > :17:24.they played Castleford in the Challenge Cup was 1996 with a new

:17:25. > :17:31.coach then, his first game in charge. They won the cup that year.

:17:32. > :17:35.So that is important potentially. They have done all right here, St

:17:36. > :17:46.Helens. Challenge Cup and Super League titles. Hunter Paul scored a

:17:47. > :17:56.hat-trick at Wembley in 1996, didn't he? A couple of tackles to go for St

:17:57. > :18:01.Helens. They are set fair, maybe. James Roby putting it to his right

:18:02. > :18:14.and Amor. Amrit Karra is lost it will stop what it stolen? -- Kyle a

:18:15. > :18:23.Amor lost it. Was it stolen? The referee says no. You can see that he

:18:24. > :18:31.just lost control. That is what Saint have got to do. Stop the ball.

:18:32. > :18:42.Bit of contention about whether Amor lost the ball. No contention here,

:18:43. > :18:49.certainly. Mike McMeeken is looking to off-load and he just spills it.

:18:50. > :18:55.Right decision. For everyone at Castleford, after ten minutes, they

:18:56. > :19:01.were leading, and St Helens looked to be at sixes and sevens in defence

:19:02. > :19:10.but it is a different cup tie now. Taken in by Morgan. John Keogh got

:19:11. > :19:24.his Welsh debut for him. Creeping closer, St Helens. 13

:19:25. > :19:34.minutes of the first half remaining. James Roby goes left. Step back by

:19:35. > :19:40.Mark Percival. A couple of tackles still to go. St Helens less than ten

:19:41. > :19:48.away. Matty Smith across the line. Amor, setting the platform for the

:19:49. > :19:57.last play in the set. James Roby out of dummy half. Mark Percival trying

:19:58. > :20:04.to crash over. Castleford in numbers. That was clever what

:20:05. > :20:09.Castleford did, controlling the ball of the St Helens players. They were

:20:10. > :20:17.happy to back their strength and their control to get that ten

:20:18. > :20:22.metres. Not a bad place to finish. Some consolation for St Helens. It

:20:23. > :20:31.leaves Castleford with a big job of getting downfield. Lost it, lost it.

:20:32. > :20:39.St Helens have got it back again. The mistakes are being made by St

:20:40. > :20:45.Helens in the start of the game. But a lot of the players have been

:20:46. > :20:48.playing in the Castleford half now. The St Helens defence, they are

:20:49. > :20:53.getting some numbers in the tackle, cutting down the space with the line

:20:54. > :20:59.speed. Pretty good defence by Saint and they are earning these errors.

:21:00. > :21:11.Kyle Amor has taken the ball right up the middle. He will be much

:21:12. > :21:16.happier now. John Lowe was a three-time winner, so plenty of

:21:17. > :21:27.Challenge Cup final pedigree. -- Sean Long. McCarthy-Scarsbrook will

:21:28. > :21:36.get death penalty for the contact made on him. -- get a penalty. We

:21:37. > :21:45.carried on regardless but the referee said it was not fair. Four

:21:46. > :21:52.penalties conceded by Castleford but none by St Helens. That has changed

:21:53. > :21:56.the momentum, it really has. James Roby, five attempts to have a really

:21:57. > :22:04.big go on this Castleford line. But that is the Castleford response.

:22:05. > :22:08.Great defence. Leading by example. Thompson looks to take it back from

:22:09. > :22:11.worried game. Listen to the roaring from behind the sticks from the

:22:12. > :22:17.Castleford fans, urging their side's defensive effort on. Taia, big and

:22:18. > :22:21.strong, but Castleford players clambering all over him and pulling

:22:22. > :22:28.him down. James Roby goes back to the middle. Matty Smith. Thompson.

:22:29. > :22:33.Another thunderous hit. They are getting shoulders in the way of

:22:34. > :22:38.things. The Castleford defenders. The last play. Matty Smith with a

:22:39. > :22:42.kick again. Isolation for the winger there. And all he can do is catch

:22:43. > :22:49.it. I think he caught it on the fall in his own area. The referee is

:22:50. > :22:54.checking this. A big decision. I think it is a penalty. Yes, penalty.

:22:55. > :23:03.Matty Smith will be disappointed. All the pressure was on. It is an

:23:04. > :23:07.easy take. The referee has got it exactly right, just as you called

:23:08. > :23:10.it. Everybody has been talking about how great Castleford are with the

:23:11. > :23:16.ball in their hands. Daryl Powell will have enjoyed those last bits as

:23:17. > :23:22.much as anything because they were in control defensively. If Swift had

:23:23. > :23:26.held off, he would have pushed him into the area. I think on those

:23:27. > :23:35.kicks, you have got to try and score. Nathan Massey is one of the

:23:36. > :23:45.honest labourers. We have got a cup tie now! Junior Moors rumbling

:23:46. > :23:54.forward. McShane. Gale. Zak Hardaker getting involved. Eight and a bit

:23:55. > :24:03.minutes still to play. Nathan Massey running in hard. Already up to the

:24:04. > :24:09.last. What are they trying to create here? Back with Roberts. A left

:24:10. > :24:15.footed kick. And with the cat and nobody can stop him what he has got

:24:16. > :24:20.his ball in his hands and Webster gets his second of the afternoon.

:24:21. > :24:30.The precision of the boot of Ben Roberts. Determination in the air

:24:31. > :24:34.from Jake Webster, meaning another Castleford try. We talked about

:24:35. > :24:38.Roberts kicking and I think that is what was meant with the previous

:24:39. > :24:49.one. Give him a bit more time in the hour. It allows Chase to time his

:24:50. > :24:55.challenge. There is the penalty. And it is rightly a penalty. Swift

:24:56. > :24:59.challenge. This one is lofted that bit higher. As it is higher, Webster

:25:00. > :25:04.holds off, then accelerates, takes the ball and it is four points. When

:25:05. > :25:11.it is a flatter kick, it is easier for the defence to gather it. On

:25:12. > :25:14.this occasion, he can run and attack it. If it is hanging, it is very

:25:15. > :25:20.difficult for the defender to jump. He has got to wait and wait. Just

:25:21. > :25:23.watch. He is not sure. Because he is running towards it, it is easier for

:25:24. > :25:29.the attacker. That is what you have got to do. On those occasions, the

:25:30. > :25:47.kick is to score the try. I love it when you prove me wrong! I didn't

:25:48. > :25:57.say anything! I will get you after. 14-4. 16? Never in doubt. Never in

:25:58. > :26:04.doubt. Two out of three. 16-4. How do St Helens react now? Jon Wilkin

:26:05. > :26:07.is on the field. How do they react? In a positive manner because they

:26:08. > :26:13.scrapped their way back into the game. This isn't supposed to be

:26:14. > :26:20.easy. There is a big prize at the end of it. Castleford look far more

:26:21. > :26:25.threatening in attack. They have got to bring Tom Makinson, Swift and

:26:26. > :26:26.Grace back into the attack somehow. The only weapon they have is the

:26:27. > :26:55.kick. Castleford look so dangerous. Good defence by Mark Percival.

:26:56. > :27:01.Nathan Massey. They are going wide again. Going wide again. What about

:27:02. > :27:06.that pick up from Eden? He is away now and he looks for support with a

:27:07. > :27:10.dummy. Great cover tackle. Absolutely vital tackle from James

:27:11. > :27:15.Roby. Hangs on as long as he can. Here comes the flood, the tide,

:27:16. > :27:22.washing up against the sea wall of St Helens as Webster is held up with

:27:23. > :27:29.one tackle to go. But Shane goes right. Dummy, twist, turn, over the

:27:30. > :27:33.line and touches down! Not the prettiest try you will ever see in

:27:34. > :27:38.the end, that there was plenty to admire in the build-up. And never

:27:39. > :27:45.mind the finish. Heal the force of the celebration from the Castleford

:27:46. > :27:49.fans again. -- feel the force of the celebration. There is no other team

:27:50. > :27:54.in Super League capable of scoring back-to-back tries. They have just

:27:55. > :27:58.scored one so what do they do? They look to how may you and they look to

:27:59. > :28:05.score once again. That is exactly what they did. Superb play. What

:28:06. > :28:11.skill from Greg Eden. He picked that up from his bootlaces. What do you

:28:12. > :28:15.do to get back in the team? What James Roby does. Work hard and

:28:16. > :28:20.tackle well. Then a shift once again. This is when Kevin indicated

:28:21. > :28:27.how important Paul McShane is. A canny old campaigner. Scanning,

:28:28. > :28:33.scanning, scanning. Looking at where St Helens are weak. A little twist,

:28:34. > :28:37.a little turn, four points. A very good finish again. They won't be

:28:38. > :28:43.happy with the defence. But brilliant play. You can just feel

:28:44. > :28:51.the confidence oozing from this Castleford side. Supportive players.

:28:52. > :28:57.They are playing brilliant rugby. They are just smart, Jonathan, just

:28:58. > :29:03.smart. Everyone feels comfortable with the ball in hand and that is

:29:04. > :29:13.such a bonus. Brilliant pick up. Brilliant by Greg Eden.

:29:14. > :29:27.27 tries they have scored this season. As he curled it wide? Yes.

:29:28. > :29:33.Too much work on that. 20-4, Castleford with the lead. It was

:29:34. > :29:37.clever. He virtually puts the player out there. Looking all the time. He

:29:38. > :29:42.has got the ball with two hands, looking to pass it. He sees somebody

:29:43. > :29:54.jump the line then he twists and turns his way over. Great try. It is

:29:55. > :30:05.not enough just to tackle Mike McGeechan. You have got to get the

:30:06. > :30:10.ball. Paul McShane was looking to get the ball as well. Here they go

:30:11. > :30:18.again! Castleford are on fire. Roberts looks on the outside, goes

:30:19. > :30:23.for the chip, Greg Minikin! Wow! Castleford! That tells you their

:30:24. > :30:32.story. In 30 eye-catching seconds, you have got what Castleford are all

:30:33. > :30:35.about. Razzle-dazzle, risk-taking, flamboyant, try scoring. You have

:30:36. > :30:42.just got to sit back and admire it. The individual talent, the spotting.

:30:43. > :30:46.Roberts picks a big forward up and he goes. Zak Hardaker on the inside.

:30:47. > :30:52.He lives for him first and he could have gone but it is a beautiful get.

:30:53. > :30:57.-- he looks for him first. That is not easy to do on the hoof. A

:30:58. > :31:05.bouncing kick. And it is Greg Minikin. Back to back-to-back tries.

:31:06. > :31:10.Great assessment by Roberts. James Roby was stopping that path on the

:31:11. > :31:16.inside. He assessed the situation, rolled it onto his boot, trusted

:31:17. > :31:18.Greg Minikin's pace and that is the end result, three tries in three

:31:19. > :31:28.sets. They have reinvented rugby league!

:31:29. > :31:36.Do you want to go through them all? Classic Castleford in the modern

:31:37. > :31:39.age. Reinventing rugby league. Is there a rugby league team in the

:31:40. > :31:44.world that's playing like this at the moment? Unless you're playing

:31:45. > :31:49.against them, it's the best 80 minutes you can have, just sit back,

:31:50. > :31:57.get a cup of tea, put your feet on the sofa and just enjoy it. So many

:31:58. > :32:03.decision-makers, quick players, brilliant play. Brilliant ten

:32:04. > :32:09.minutes. He's not got it right, to far right it started.

:32:10. > :32:15.Body language is a lot to go by when things are going well and they are

:32:16. > :32:21.not. St Helens players looking up the field, Paul Wellington getting

:32:22. > :32:30.right into the players, making sure they get their heads back into this

:32:31. > :32:36.game. How do you respond to this? If you're Paul Wellens, how do you

:32:37. > :32:40.respond to this? They have to complete a defensive set. The last

:32:41. > :32:45.three sets they've ended up with points against them. They have to

:32:46. > :32:48.focus on this defensive set, not giving any penalties away and

:32:49. > :32:52.executing the tackles and attempting to pressure the kicker. Stop the

:32:53. > :32:57.off-load, they are on fire, they will chuck everything at them. You

:32:58. > :33:03.have to be aggressive, pick support runners up. Just be in their face.

:33:04. > :33:07.You can't just let them steam-roll you because they are too

:33:08. > :33:14.comfortable. We've gone from cup tie to short time in three breathtaking

:33:15. > :33:24.minutes here -- show time. Castleford the entertainers. McShane

:33:25. > :33:27.left again, the step from Junior Murez. Just when you thought the

:33:28. > :33:33.fringes were under threat. That fellow comes crashing to the middle.

:33:34. > :33:41.It's going to be a drop goal. Everything comes out of the box.

:33:42. > :33:44.Luke Gale with a drop goal. I was on to say what's the point of that,

:33:45. > :33:55.it's one point. What is the point of that. Slow play of the ball. Four

:33:56. > :34:02.sets, three tries and a drop goal. Just keep the scoreboard ticking

:34:03. > :34:11.over. The ball was back. I can feel the DVD coming on. Three tries and a

:34:12. > :34:12.drop goal. He hasn't kicked so well, the only downside of that

:34:13. > :34:20.performance. Not made many conversions. I don't think he lacks

:34:21. > :34:25.confidence! This time last year, Luke Gale, 13 appearances, one try,

:34:26. > :34:34.43 goals. His 13th appearance this ten tries and so far 65 goals. 20

:34:35. > :34:44.more goals than his gold, nine more tries than in the same period last

:34:45. > :34:52.year. He makes things happen as well,. Gets near the posts like

:34:53. > :34:58.every good half-backs. Here she is. Seize the gap and ashes into it.

:34:59. > :35:08.Shenton holding him off if he can. Dragged back. Tackles to come. Gale

:35:09. > :35:12.stepping again. Good step from McShane. Another of the big fellows.

:35:13. > :35:24.Snisla Gale. Massey. Nathan Massey, if he's

:35:25. > :35:30.got this it will be his first try of the season. The referee on the field

:35:31. > :35:32.thinks it's a try. Is he going to be added to the list? The roll of

:35:33. > :35:48.honour. He keeps hold of the ball all the

:35:49. > :35:54.way to the right, it's in his hand and he has possession, still has

:35:55. > :35:58.possession it goes out of shot. The ball is out of shot still in his

:35:59. > :36:05.hands and that's a try. Can Miguel from the other angle if he gets his

:36:06. > :36:08.hands all the way on it? Whilst he may lose it, he can get his hand

:36:09. > :36:13.back on the ball before the line, still has his hands on that, that a

:36:14. > :36:27.try, confirm the decision, it's a try. Wait for this cheer. We

:36:28. > :36:31.wandered the Saints have any answers. The answer is no they

:36:32. > :36:37.haven't. They had been cut to pieces by this Castleford attack. There is

:36:38. > :36:41.the coach. Across the pitch before the half-time hooter sounds. What a

:36:42. > :36:47.job he has done but what a job Luke Gale has done. That pass for Massey

:36:48. > :36:54.was absolutely perfect. It invited Massey into that gap. Over it goes,

:36:55. > :37:00.that will be the last action of the first half. Gale puts it over, 31-4.

:37:01. > :37:07.He's a happy man, he deserves to be a happy man, they are happy fellers.

:37:08. > :37:10.They have provided an answer to St Helens's fightback when it came and

:37:11. > :37:16.they responded in unbelievable fashion. Michael Shenton is now

:37:17. > :37:19.speaking with us. Tough first half but when you look at the scoreboard

:37:20. > :37:24.how happy are you? We knew it would be a tough battle against Saints,

:37:25. > :37:29.one of the best teams. We wanted a fast start and we got that. You just

:37:30. > :37:36.ploughed away for 15 minutes at the end. Once we got on the role, we

:37:37. > :37:44.kept executing. Real positive first half but big 40 minutes to go.

:37:45. > :37:54.Castleford, remarkable half. Particular remarkable last ten

:37:55. > :37:59.minutes on the first half. They lead 31-4 and we can assure you various

:38:00. > :38:06.stats from the first half, although whatever stands you see probably,

:38:07. > :38:09.Castleford with more possession, territory. Conceded more penalties

:38:10. > :38:12.and when they conceded the penalties, it was when Castleford

:38:13. > :38:17.fans were at their most nervous. Sam Tomkins, the one thing it doesn't

:38:18. > :38:20.show is that approaching the half-hour, they were only 10-4 up

:38:21. > :38:25.and they have blitzed St Helens in the last ten minutes. A period in

:38:26. > :38:29.the middle of the first half when the tide was turning, it was with

:38:30. > :38:33.Saints and spending a bit of time on the Castleford line. The longer it

:38:34. > :38:39.stays like this the more likely they were looking. Elect Castleford off

:38:40. > :38:41.the hook, Adam Swist in the corner with a silly penalty. Someday let

:38:42. > :38:49.that shouldn't be giving penalties like that. They kick the ball ten

:38:50. > :38:54.metres downfield and go from there. You could just start to feel a few

:38:55. > :38:59.nerves around Castleford fans and that will come when you are 10-4 up

:39:00. > :39:02.and you're scoring 50 pints a week and you are not doing it for a

:39:03. > :39:10.period then they started to get nervous. I thought that was

:39:11. > :39:14.incredible. Great performance. 10-4 when the try gets chalked off, you

:39:15. > :39:17.think Saints are in the game and then they bring on Ben Roberts who

:39:18. > :39:24.had a massive influence in the second part of the first half. When

:39:25. > :39:28.the stats came up, completion rate for St Helens, 43%. If you're going

:39:29. > :39:32.to play a conservative style of football, 43% doesn't do it. If you

:39:33. > :39:37.throw the ball about, you can maybe get away with it, not playing

:39:38. > :39:40.conservatively. When we go through the tries and there are a lot to go

:39:41. > :39:45.through and we start with the Shenton try. A tweet came into as

:39:46. > :39:49.saying it's another shocking defensive performance from Saints,

:39:50. > :39:54.they have to close the gaps in the line. Is that fair or not giving

:39:55. > :39:57.Castleford enough credit? It's a fair reflection, what happened in

:39:58. > :40:00.the last ten minutes of the first half we'll talk about later about

:40:01. > :40:04.momentum and managing the game but there are some decisions being made

:40:05. > :40:08.by certain defenders and they don't do it purposely, shape and speed

:40:09. > :40:13.thrown at them. Just happens to be that this is a poor read from

:40:14. > :40:17.Morgan, the centre. Looking at the inside and what might happen on the

:40:18. > :40:25.inside because they are man on man, have enough defenders to make a play

:40:26. > :40:28.and Shenton bounces outside the defender. The next time he sees it,

:40:29. > :40:34.Shenton is over the line. Shenton has halted his line and bounced out,

:40:35. > :40:39.running the outline and left him for dead and Morgan is looking to the

:40:40. > :40:43.inside to the ball carrier and gets caught called. Machis has done

:40:44. > :40:48.everything you would want him to do, gone off the lead and Luke Gale put

:40:49. > :40:56.him under pressure, three on three. -- Matty Smith has done everything.

:40:57. > :41:04.Smith with the first two IC has got. This is big on little. He gets too

:41:05. > :41:07.far in front of St Helens defensive line which leads him on Jake Webster

:41:08. > :41:12.who is huge. He needs all the help he can get and it's interesting to

:41:13. > :41:19.see big on small. Stop there, Percival has got in front of it.

:41:20. > :41:24.Webster can't help pages in relation to the defence -- Fages. He can't

:41:25. > :41:30.make the decision to go out to stop the sweeping play around the back. I

:41:31. > :41:35.think Jake Webster on Fages is a mismatch at any time. That's another

:41:36. > :41:39.poor defensive read. The past selection from Castleford today has

:41:40. > :41:43.been outstanding. Great width from Paul McShane, the wide pass through

:41:44. > :41:46.either of the haves and on the back of that they have had options and

:41:47. > :41:51.picking the right pass every time. At that point we were thinking that

:41:52. > :41:56.Saints would get blitzed away but they got back into it, Ryan Morgan

:41:57. > :42:01.got his try. They got straight back into it by doing the simple things

:42:02. > :42:05.right. Cat although the ball for a few cents, they didn't try to score

:42:06. > :42:10.on every single play. Matty Smith, the perfect kick a great catch. That

:42:11. > :42:14.got them straight back into it. We were talking earlier on, that kicks

:42:15. > :42:18.selection, just inside where the winger is. The winner has to make an

:42:19. > :42:23.effort to come. Later on with the Castleford try. If that kick as a

:42:24. > :42:28.metre shorter or further it's not a try. Perfect kick and catch. That

:42:29. > :42:32.emphasises the fine margins in kicking. We will look two kicks know

:42:33. > :42:39.on which the game could have turned. It did turn in that half. Matty

:42:40. > :42:45.Smith with a poor kick and Ben Roberts on the kick that led to

:42:46. > :42:50.Castleford's next try. I think it's a very good kick, just the decision

:42:51. > :42:53.from Swift to make the tackle on Greg Egan whilst he in the air and

:42:54. > :42:59.that gives away penalty. The kick is a very good one. On the flip side,

:43:00. > :43:03.Ben Roberts puts this click right above Fages, we seen a real change

:43:04. > :43:07.in kicks selection from halves. Instead of clicking on the double

:43:08. > :43:14.winners, the kick on top of the opposite haves because they tend to

:43:15. > :43:20.be shorter in stature. That's bigger big difference in the game? The

:43:21. > :43:25.turnaround from that penalty and then to concede the try, that give

:43:26. > :43:29.the advantage to Castleford and St Helens seem to crumble on the back

:43:30. > :43:33.of that. That it allowed try at one end and scoring a try at the other

:43:34. > :43:37.end gave Castleford the start and momentum for the last ten minutes

:43:38. > :43:51.and we all thought, was it four tries, in 6 cents. Wow. In six sets.

:43:52. > :43:55.You have to give manage. If they score one they are looking to be

:43:56. > :43:59.more expensive, they will find the off-load and I thought defensively

:44:00. > :44:02.St Helens could not build a defensive set to get them back into

:44:03. > :44:06.the game to kick the ball as they did for the middle 20 minutes of the

:44:07. > :44:09.half, they ground their way in there and got to the right end of the

:44:10. > :44:14.field and were in the game at 10-4. The game is gone now those of the

:44:15. > :44:19.last ten minutes and at times their reluctance to not defend and not

:44:20. > :44:24.even making these decisions defensively. We will see the McShane

:44:25. > :44:29.try in the run-off prize at the end and four sets of defenders scrambled

:44:30. > :44:34.back to make a huge play but it is cup tie football, trapdoor football.

:44:35. > :44:37.You have to be better than that. Let's look at the Paul McShane try.

:44:38. > :44:43.You mentioned it pre-match but Saints have to take responsibility

:44:44. > :44:50.for this. A lot of the good play from Castleford today has come from.

:44:51. > :44:56.This is the break first. Great pick-up from Eden. When he's in

:44:57. > :45:02.dummy half he's got a shimmy, step, spin, he asks questions. When he

:45:03. > :45:08.gets here he ends up being too strong and has the presence of mind

:45:09. > :45:14.to put the ball over the line. Here he comes out into the picture. You

:45:15. > :45:18.can see, Brian, there are six defenders, four and round him. Take

:45:19. > :45:22.nothing away from Paul McShane's progress, strong and quick and he

:45:23. > :45:26.will take any opportunity because he is a sniping little half-backs,

:45:27. > :45:33.hooker but four defenders at the end of the day and you would expect

:45:34. > :45:39.that... Soft dry. When the preview this game they would have previewed

:45:40. > :45:42.Paul McShane, he's short, stocky and really strong. When Saints review

:45:43. > :45:46.this game they will be asking questions about the defending

:45:47. > :45:49.because that would have come of this week in preparation. Let's have a

:45:50. > :45:55.look at the Minikin try it happened below us. Had all of us applauding.

:45:56. > :45:59.It's what you want to see, great rugby league. One-on-one and he's

:46:00. > :46:03.looking around for somebody to pasta, cannot find them and to be

:46:04. > :46:09.running at that speed and to put a kick in that accurately is a tough

:46:10. > :46:15.thing to do but makes it very easy. Ben Roberts introduction was a

:46:16. > :46:21.masterstroke. Saints were right in the game and he has come on and

:46:22. > :46:27.sparked them up. I cannot praise Ben Robertson. These people have kicked

:46:28. > :46:30.the regularly in rugby league. I never got anywhere near that speed

:46:31. > :46:33.but to run at a speed to kick the ball with such accuracy is a skill

:46:34. > :46:38.in itself and we cannot praise enough because basically he has to

:46:39. > :46:41.pick the ball up and put it down. We will see the Massey try as well

:46:42. > :46:51.which was Castleford's six of the half. Is it too simplistic to say

:46:52. > :46:55.that Saints are shell-shocked? They have been blown away. If this is the

:46:56. > :46:59.first minute of the game they don't score the try. Saints have got

:47:00. > :47:05.energy, concluded that 40% and defended a lot. At this point they

:47:06. > :47:09.will be blowing pretty hard and it doesn't look like your defensive

:47:10. > :47:14.line is as you wanted. Although it was a decent try, I think it was a

:47:15. > :47:20.build-up of the last ten minutes of that game which made Saints defence

:47:21. > :47:27.soberly. That was a Saints try from ten years ago. It has been role

:47:28. > :47:32.reversal tonight. Castleford have been brilliant. Jon Wilkin didn't

:47:33. > :47:37.actually come on until half an hour of that half and here is what we

:47:38. > :47:43.could broadcast from his microphone during the last 40 minutes.

:47:44. > :47:50.Old school shirt. What year is that from? It's your mums. Borrowed it

:47:51. > :47:56.from your mum. We've got a job on here, this bench. Now let's go,

:47:57. > :48:02.boys. Keep going, do that exact same play again. Here go, this is what

:48:03. > :48:06.you get. This is what you get. Good stint.

:48:07. > :48:31.Brian Noble, what do you say in the dressing room at half-time after a

:48:32. > :48:35.last ten minutes like that? There's an element of shock, you have to

:48:36. > :48:39.find a couple of things you can Bath the second half on. Got to get into

:48:40. > :48:44.position. When they are in decent position, Castleford were defending

:48:45. > :48:48.well. If they get one try, Saints, they will think they can compete in

:48:49. > :48:53.this game. They have nothing to lose. We'll be be more expensive or

:48:54. > :48:57.give a suffered more opportunities? They have two of their element of

:48:58. > :49:00.control with the ball. They have to stay disciplined. They have been

:49:01. > :49:03.reasonably disciplined and they have to find three things you can hang

:49:04. > :49:07.your hat on and give them relief to go out there and if this happens, if

:49:08. > :49:11.you prepared to invest in this side of the game, you have a chance but

:49:12. > :49:19.you have to defend better than they have. Daryl Powell is out of the

:49:20. > :49:24.dressing room and is with Tanya. I pleased were you with the first hour

:49:25. > :49:29.from your site? Particularly the last 15-20 minute we were awesome.

:49:30. > :49:32.Got into a battle when Saints got on top but found our way out of it and

:49:33. > :49:36.some of the attacking play was sublime times. First ten minutes

:49:37. > :49:39.will be keynote, we have to start well and not give St Helens a sniff

:49:40. > :49:43.that there is something there for them. Do you feel the key is with

:49:44. > :49:47.your site and errors and things like that? I thought that all along, if

:49:48. > :49:51.we were on our game perhaps we would be too good. People always saying

:49:52. > :49:56.never write St Helens off and we won't be doing that.

:49:57. > :50:00.Thank you very much to Daryl Powell for talking to us at half-time. All

:50:01. > :50:33.the other sports coming your way. I know Italy is your favourite, you

:50:34. > :50:45.love the Italian entry. I went for Finland! Castleford Tigers St

:50:46. > :50:49.Helens. 1986 the last ten Castleford won the Challenge Cup final itself.

:50:50. > :50:57.They were in the final in 2014 and lost that day against Kevin

:50:58. > :51:00.Sinfield's Leeds side. 23-10. They didn't have sufficient belief going

:51:01. > :51:05.into that Wembley final. If they make it to Wembley this year,

:51:06. > :51:12.they'll have belief. That is taken as read. The way the club has

:51:13. > :51:18.evolves, the way the team has evolved. There is an indication

:51:19. > :51:24.straightaway in the second half, early in the tackle count, right on

:51:25. > :51:27.their own line, they shift the ball. Is the ability to vary their play.

:51:28. > :51:34.The distribution that they have. Everyone is comfortable. They take

:51:35. > :51:40.it up and they go wide and the yardage, getting most tackles. Makes

:51:41. > :51:52.it such an easy kicking game for the half-backs. Up on tackle five. On

:51:53. > :51:58.the sixth. The young fellow was back on. Tom Holmes and another young

:51:59. > :52:02.fellow up there will catch it and not able to keep it in play. The

:52:03. > :52:09.pressure on him. We talked about Robertson 's kicking. Pretty

:52:10. > :52:14.standard for Castleford. Putting the ball into the corner. If you catch

:52:15. > :52:23.anywhere near the sidelines you get walloped. When he went over the

:52:24. > :52:31.sideline, I don't know. Might have been dealt a rotten hand, Reagan

:52:32. > :52:36.Grace. Very unlucky. Castleford fans watching will wonder if Grant

:52:37. > :52:45.Millington had been given that, for example. You think Ben Roberts...

:52:46. > :52:59.It's been seen that he's done enough. A bit of a reach from Gale

:53:00. > :53:00.from Sene-Lefao. The St Helens defence continuing to work. Pushed

:53:01. > :53:21.in. It's with Cook pushing hard. Gale

:53:22. > :53:33.left. Shenton stands. St Helens players round him up and put him

:53:34. > :53:41.down. McShane threatening again. Webster coming from deep, into the

:53:42. > :53:43.hands of Minikin. Looks like St Helens are in constant scramble

:53:44. > :53:53.defence mode. Scrambling everywhere to keep the Tigers out. Sean go from

:53:54. > :53:58.Junior Moors. Takes something to get him closer to the line then he would

:53:59. > :54:05.have wanted. Gale is going to go himself. The ball comes free.

:54:06. > :54:09.Hardaker flicks it back. This step and well, has he touched it down?

:54:10. > :54:20.Was there an issue in the build-up as well? He thinks try. Looking at

:54:21. > :54:30.the grounding potentially. Let's hear from the video referee. First

:54:31. > :54:38.to check the flawed and whether the tackle is complete. We will have to

:54:39. > :54:40.work out, Gale had the ball, whether his elbow at the four and whether he

:54:41. > :54:58.has off-loaded. I could do with that replay again

:54:59. > :55:07.slower so I can see it all from further back. Gale has the ball, he

:55:08. > :55:13.goes towards the floor, his arm doesn't hit the floor on that

:55:14. > :55:19.replay, he's still up. It is still up and appears to off-load. Doesn't

:55:20. > :55:22.off-load backwards and then is the St Helens man. Wasn't tackle but

:55:23. > :55:25.there could be a knock-on, so we have to check if you lose is it

:55:26. > :55:33.forward or back. From the site we might be able to tell. The live

:55:34. > :55:38.decision was tried, so Gale reaches out, he then doesn't hit the floor,

:55:39. > :55:47.the ball comes out it then appears to be lost into the St Helens man.

:55:48. > :55:50.Can we have that one again? The live decision is tried, so we need

:55:51. > :56:00.sufficient evidence to prove it when forward. Gale has the ball there.

:56:01. > :56:09.Starting to reach back and reach back and he loses it back into a

:56:10. > :56:20.Saints man and then backwards again, that's play on. I just won the

:56:21. > :56:25.grounding now please. It's about whether Egan goes into touch. He's

:56:26. > :56:42.in the ear, grabs the ball, that's a try. -- he is in the air. 16th try

:56:43. > :56:45.of the season for Greg Eden. Only his 14th appearance. Seventh try of

:56:46. > :56:50.the afternoon for Castleford, six different try scorers. Again, you

:56:51. > :56:56.have to look at it, the half-backs goes on, you have to wrap that all

:56:57. > :57:00.up. It's another off-load, brilliant finish by Eden. I agree with John,

:57:01. > :57:05.it's as if they're scrambling all the time in this game. They knew

:57:06. > :57:09.Castleford would throw everything at them, they knew they are playing a

:57:10. > :57:14.fold of confidence. So many tries, you have to get in their faces,

:57:15. > :57:18.chuck them on the floor, hold them down, take support runners. Yes,

:57:19. > :57:21.it's not legal, it doesn't matter, you have to win the game and in

:57:22. > :57:29.their faces and be aggressive. They are so passive. They are just

:57:30. > :57:34.struggling. Great athleticism there from Eden brilliant finish. Another

:57:35. > :57:41.spectacular finish. It's like Castleford are on fast forward and

:57:42. > :57:47.St Helens on normal play. Just for anybody wondering, corner flags

:57:48. > :57:50.don't count these days. There is a knock-on. Minikin for the second

:57:51. > :57:55.time of the game is furious with that decision. He needs to be

:57:56. > :58:04.careful. Could be giving a penalty away here. Got a bit of reaction

:58:05. > :58:13.from that, it's going to be a penalty. Basingstoke on Minikin --

:58:14. > :58:20.Basingstoke on Minikin has given away the penalty. It's a penalty

:58:21. > :58:26.because of his reaction. McCarthy-Scarsbrook drives it in.

:58:27. > :58:36.Smith. Left without it and McShane instantly looking to try and launch

:58:37. > :58:48.something forward. Ambitions quashed by the reaction of Fages.

:58:49. > :58:52.Sene-Lefao. Thumping tackle in the back. This is meant to be a long

:58:53. > :58:59.second half for the Saints players, management and supporters. Junior

:59:00. > :59:08.Moors on the ground again. Doesn't mind taking passengers with him.

:59:09. > :59:15.Lovely. Wants to catch it, wants to play. The referee says play on. I

:59:16. > :59:21.think it was unnecessary what he did, he pulled the St Helens player

:59:22. > :59:26.away from the ruck area. That may well be part of his frustration from

:59:27. > :59:30.his early last ball but it was a little petulant. Just pulled him

:59:31. > :59:40.away and it's cost Castleford here a great attacking position.

:59:41. > :59:49.Six penalties conceded, the penalty count normally would suggest you are

:59:50. > :59:53.reading by 35 - four -- the penalty count wouldn't suggest you are

:59:54. > :59:59.leading 35-4. Hill indicates a couple of things, Castleford can't

:00:00. > :00:05.defend and when -- Castleford can defend them when they get the ball,

:00:06. > :00:13.they are pretty ruthless. Smith has given it to nobody. He's away

:00:14. > :00:19.Minikin. Support from Holmes. For the corner. Swift living up to his

:00:20. > :00:25.name but Holmes rolls over and touches down. Is this going to be

:00:26. > :00:31.given? We're off upstairs again to the video referee. Now try, in

:00:32. > :00:41.touch, he thinks. We will hear from the video referee again.

:00:42. > :00:49.We'll check each runs the ball. He's sure there and has momentum, we have

:00:50. > :00:54.two check if it takes him with them. Whether his feet go into touch. He's

:00:55. > :00:55.in touch, we don't need to go any further than that. He's in touch so

:00:56. > :01:13.it will be now try. Scrum. That passage of play sums again up

:01:14. > :01:19.for me. Poor passing from St Helens and then they get down the field.

:01:20. > :01:29.The execution is bought by St Helens and they don't look creative. A pat

:01:30. > :01:33.on the back for the wingers there. Swift continued the good work and

:01:34. > :01:35.put Tom Holmes into touch. Something to build on that in terms of spirit

:01:36. > :01:46.for the Saints. The World Cup will be on BBC TV at

:01:47. > :01:58.the end of this year of course. November to December.

:01:59. > :02:11.Wilkin. Amor! Look at the body language. You don't need a

:02:12. > :02:19.microphone to tell what Jon Wilkin is thinking. Restoration would sum

:02:20. > :02:42.it up best. -- frustration would sum it up best.

:02:43. > :02:52.Well, Justin Holbrook might be watching this. He will think, my

:02:53. > :03:01.word, I have got a job on. I think he has gone to bed now!

:03:02. > :03:20.Paul McShane. Mike McMeeken tackle. Keeping it alive. Dale puts it over

:03:21. > :03:27.the top. -- Gale puts it over the top and in he goes again! Second try

:03:28. > :03:33.of the half, second of the game. Easy, easy is the chart. Easy on the

:03:34. > :03:43.eye? Very definitely. Easy to execute. You need very high skill

:03:44. > :03:47.levels but that is what Castleford have got. It is difficult to execute

:03:48. > :03:51.those skills as accurately as they are doing. The other thing that

:03:52. > :03:58.Castleford have got is decision-making. Superb. That is the

:03:59. > :04:03.header from Jon Wilkin to Gale. It gave the position. They are looking

:04:04. > :04:08.to come from the right-hand side. There it goes again. This is what I

:04:09. > :04:16.mean about execution and decision making. He sees where the space is

:04:17. > :04:20.and he nails the pass for Greg Eden. Superb pass and great finish. They

:04:21. > :04:24.will try and off-load it every time there is an opportunity. They chuck

:04:25. > :04:30.it out the back door and it goes to ground, twice. Defence is dragged

:04:31. > :04:38.in. A beautiful pass. The execution has been brilliant this afternoon by

:04:39. > :04:47.Castleford. Top scorer this year in the top flight, Greg Eden. There

:04:48. > :04:55.will be plenty more. Plenty more this afternoon if St Helens don't

:04:56. > :05:02.tighten up. He steadied himself again. Has he found the range this

:05:03. > :05:08.time? Yes, he has. His fourth success out of eight. 41-4. What do

:05:09. > :05:15.you say, Robbie? Interesting changing dynamics on the last time I

:05:16. > :05:19.was on screen. And how the St Helens players are dealing with it. Nobody

:05:20. > :05:23.talking and everybody looking at the field. They know Castleford are

:05:24. > :05:27.white hot and they have just got to hold on. Have you noticed Robbie is

:05:28. > :05:39.getting slower and his delivery is more breathless? I will leave that

:05:40. > :05:44.with you! 41-4! A proper cup tie after 30 minutes played. It was

:05:45. > :05:52.really close, know this stuff, 10-4 at that stage. When you see the

:05:53. > :05:55.draw, Castleford have lucked out and St Helens, you salivate and you

:05:56. > :06:03.think it will be tough and tight and it could go either way. But the guys

:06:04. > :06:07.have struggled. Any eight minutes before the break and the ten minutes

:06:08. > :06:17.after it, they have scored 31 unanswered points. -- in the eight

:06:18. > :06:21.minutes. Luke Gale is off again! Take your pick but he took the wrong

:06:22. > :06:26.pick. He thought he could do it himself. If he had passed, it would

:06:27. > :06:29.have been a Greg Eden hat-trick. Probably the only thing he has done

:06:30. > :06:39.wrong all afternoon except missing those goal kicks. This fellow can

:06:40. > :06:48.fly given half a chance. Alex Walmsley.

:06:49. > :06:54.An occasion where we have not been able to admire the brilliance of

:06:55. > :07:00.Alex Walmsley because of his side in general. Another pass. That is the

:07:01. > :07:07.difference, the execution and the passing. Castleford make it look

:07:08. > :07:16.easy because it is absolutely on the nail and St Helens are looking

:07:17. > :07:21.scruffy. Wilkin. Watching it come down. We had decided to twist on

:07:22. > :07:29.that and let someone else take responsibility. The bounds of the

:07:30. > :07:36.ball takes it out of play. -- the bounce of the ball takes it out of

:07:37. > :07:41.play. The first thing that Justin Holbrook will have to do is lift the

:07:42. > :07:46.spirits of this team. And the fans. By doing it with the team will make

:07:47. > :07:51.it happen with the fans as well. Their body language, it just looks

:07:52. > :08:06.like a dispirited group of people. There is no sharpness, no control

:08:07. > :08:10.from half-backs. They have a new tradition, they play a song, and

:08:11. > :08:17.usually it is a boy of celebration from the fans. Webster comes an with

:08:18. > :08:27.great sticking to him like a lipid and pulling him down. -- Webster

:08:28. > :08:36.comes on with Grace sticking to him like a limp limpet.

:08:37. > :08:57.Jesse Sene-Lefao is caught but not with the ball. The chase is on. Zak

:08:58. > :09:03.Hardaker after it. Was he knocked out of the way? Yes. Obstructed on

:09:04. > :09:06.his way through and penalty for Castleford underneath the sticks.

:09:07. > :09:10.Shoulder charged off the ball. That is what I mean about the

:09:11. > :09:18.decision-making. We saw it with Roberts's kick. Just before the Luke

:09:19. > :09:24.Gale try. They got the ball behind them. It is good decision-making but

:09:25. > :09:29.I doubt that he would have got there. Usain Bolt wouldn't have got

:09:30. > :09:35.to bed. Theatrical dive, good decision and they have got

:09:36. > :09:40.possession back. You can't use your shoulder, whatever the situation. It

:09:41. > :09:53.is like watching the Harlem globetrotter is at times.

:09:54. > :10:03.Eden to Gale. Tom Holmes across to Mike McMeeken. Arms pinned to his

:10:04. > :10:12.chest. The quickest player of the born-again. Millington, Gale, the

:10:13. > :10:21.path picked up by Greg Eden. Greg Eden's fires inside. Zak Hardaker to

:10:22. > :10:25.Webster, Webster injects. Hanging on. They have got the number here

:10:26. > :10:31.down the right-hand side. They might have the numbers but not the

:10:32. > :10:35.wherewithal on that occasion. Final play to go. Luke Gale from a

:10:36. > :10:40.standing start. Touched by a St Helens player on the way through.

:10:41. > :10:51.When Morgan takes it, he knows he has got to take it out of play.

:10:52. > :10:56.The Castleford fans are really enjoying their afternoon. You can

:10:57. > :11:05.see what Luke Gale was trying to do with that kick. The bit short but it

:11:06. > :11:10.ricocheted off the Saints. 20 off-loads by Castleford and 19 by

:11:11. > :11:15.Saints. But you can see the support play in the second wave of attack,

:11:16. > :11:19.that is the difference between Castleford and St Helens. And the

:11:20. > :11:23.decision-making. Castleford's off-loads have been really creative

:11:24. > :11:30.and they have asked questions of the Saints defence consistently. Luke

:11:31. > :11:36.Gale stoops and collectors. Zak Hardaker gets away. Eden back

:11:37. > :11:45.towards the middle. Gale begins his scamper. Over the top. Greg Minikin

:11:46. > :11:49.finds Grace in his face. A bit of attitude still in the St Helens

:11:50. > :12:00.defensive line and there has got to be. Shoulders in and charge. Two

:12:01. > :12:07.tackles to go in set. Like a boiling pan of water. Will it bubble over?

:12:08. > :12:16.Tom Holmes. Collection again. Last play. Webster trying to overload the

:12:17. > :12:27.numbers. Into the knees of Theo Fages. I think that was an

:12:28. > :12:33.accidental offside. A variety of play. The whip, the passing, the

:12:34. > :12:34.off-loads, but when they need to go forward, the forward sticks it under

:12:35. > :12:49.the arm and takes it in. Round the back with a knock-on. It

:12:50. > :12:54.is Tom Makinson. That is what the offside was. Castleford double the

:12:55. > :13:06.amount of metres that St Helens have made. It is reflected mostly in the

:13:07. > :13:13.scoreboard. 40% set completion has now dropped to 37. Threatening to

:13:14. > :13:21.carry the defenders with him. He has to play the ball. Sometimes in

:13:22. > :13:29.training you have got to attack the defence and it seems like that is

:13:30. > :13:36.what it is. Mike McMeeken, he has given it to the wrong fellow. No

:13:37. > :13:46.advantage to St Helens. Brief respite there! Forward as well, Mike

:13:47. > :13:51.McMeeken. I suppose they can take the chance, or chances. They are

:13:52. > :13:55.certainly going into the bag for the next round. The draw is after that

:13:56. > :14:04.game tomorrow, by the way, Warrington and Widnes. You can see

:14:05. > :14:09.that on the Super League Show on Tuesday, the 23rd of May, a week on

:14:10. > :14:12.Tuesday after that Magic Weekend in Newcastle, and don't forget the

:14:13. > :14:19.podcast as well every Monday afternoon.

:14:20. > :14:26.They have barely been out of their own half, Saints. It is just

:14:27. > :14:30.defence. I am certain that Daryl Powell will be very interested now

:14:31. > :14:31.in Castleford's attitude and application when St Helens have got

:14:32. > :14:46.the ball. James Roby, and was there a touch by

:14:47. > :14:50.Mike McMeeken? Yes. An advantage play, if you like, where they can

:14:51. > :14:54.take a risk because if it doesn't come off, they just go back to the

:14:55. > :15:00.advantage of getting ahead and the scrum. There is an indication of the

:15:01. > :15:04.difference between the two. When Castleford get the free play, they

:15:05. > :15:08.use it as a run in play, and put the ball through hands, but that was

:15:09. > :15:25.just an aimless kick. Nothing was ever going to come from that.

:15:26. > :15:32.Sets completed, it isn't always true science. Castleford will not

:15:33. > :15:36.complete as many as others because they take more risks and they score

:15:37. > :15:41.more tries and they do make mistakes, but I think St Helens have

:15:42. > :15:49.only completed eight out of 21. Terrible statistics from their point

:15:50. > :15:53.of view. Fages with a short pass. Webster came over the line

:15:54. > :16:00.anticipating. The ball has gone to ground. The referee says it has not

:16:01. > :16:03.gone. First to St Helens. Castleford celebrate that moment of the

:16:04. > :16:12.defensive when. It will mean a lot to them. When the ball went loose,

:16:13. > :16:17.just look at the urgency of the Castleford players to claim that

:16:18. > :16:28.loose ball. Good work here by Tom Holmes. The ball goes free and

:16:29. > :16:40.Castleford look hungrier of the two but they are 41 points up. Greg

:16:41. > :16:44.Minikin made his name in the Challenge Cup in his debut for

:16:45. > :16:49.Europe against Catalan a few years ago, in 2013. He had a really good

:16:50. > :16:53.game and that is when he got a lot of people's attention and ended up

:16:54. > :17:00.signing for Castleford. Penalty for Castleford. I believe he played for

:17:01. > :17:07.York against St Helens and Jon Wilkin identified him as a talent to

:17:08. > :17:15.watch and he really is. He has developed, hasn't he? Great kick,

:17:16. > :17:24.that. Big kick. I suppose he has done everything else, hasn't he?

:17:25. > :17:27.Luke Gale may as well put one in. 18 minutes of the game remaining and

:17:28. > :17:30.Castleford with their entertainment heads on will feel they have got

:17:31. > :17:35.more razzle-dazzle moments to produce on. On their way to the

:17:36. > :17:42.quarterfinals of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup. Greg Minikin pops it

:17:43. > :17:50.back. It is a hat-trick! A second-half hat-trick for Greg Eden.

:17:51. > :17:54.When you are on the end of play that comes his way, sometimes it is

:17:55. > :17:58.simple to score tries and that was one of those moments. He is a great

:17:59. > :18:05.finisher and he just had to be in the right place at the right time on

:18:06. > :18:11.that occasion. I think he does a lot to enhance the attacking play. He is

:18:12. > :18:18.always a threat. A high shot in the face, beautiful kick by Luke Gale.

:18:19. > :18:23.Just watch Zak Hardaker in the back. Bang. That visit. We have the

:18:24. > :18:32.option. The blaze at Bob. He creates the extra man and he has done that

:18:33. > :18:35.on numerous occasions. All of that is done without breaking stride. To

:18:36. > :18:41.the front of the player, straight into the hands, and they don't break

:18:42. > :18:44.stride. That space down the outside. They keep their depth. If they need

:18:45. > :18:53.to be flagged, they are flagged, but lovely give and take by Michael

:18:54. > :19:04.Shenton. The coaches are enjoying himself. He can relax and enjoy the

:19:05. > :19:08.last minutes. -- the coach is enjoying himself. Daryl Powell

:19:09. > :19:15.probably never thought he would have 20 minutes of playing against St

:19:16. > :19:22.Helens. Today he can. They took Leeds and Wigan apart. They have

:19:23. > :19:32.taken a few people apart. They certainly have. Kicking boots back

:19:33. > :19:38.on. Five out of nine. Greg Eden is a hat-trick hero. Three tries, all in

:19:39. > :19:43.a second-half. One or two have taken some finishing. One or two have been

:19:44. > :19:51.provided on a plate. It doesn't matter how you get there as long as

:19:52. > :19:55.you get there. He has now got 18 tries for the season. It must be a

:19:56. > :20:01.dream to play on the left wing for Castleford. They have such a great

:20:02. > :20:06.left side with Luke Gale and Zak Hardaker and Michael Shenton is a

:20:07. > :20:11.quality centre. The wing man, so long as you hold your safe, you are

:20:12. > :20:23.quick and acrobatic, you will score if you tries. Run-ins as well,

:20:24. > :20:28.aren't they? -- you will score a few tries. What was the most you scored

:20:29. > :20:34.in a season? I don't know, tell you the truth! It has been tremendous

:20:35. > :20:38.since Daryl Powell has been here. The structure and the shape and the

:20:39. > :20:44.execution that Castleford have got, and the decision-making. Changing

:20:45. > :20:52.the subject very quickly. Better side than he ever produced on the

:20:53. > :21:00.field! To deep? Yes. A friendly bump from behind by Paul McShane. St

:21:01. > :21:04.Helens are hurting. This is the end of their cup run. It is not a Super

:21:05. > :21:13.League defeat that they can bounce back from next week. It is over. For

:21:14. > :21:16.me there hasn't been the edge. If you come in here top of the table,

:21:17. > :21:20.you have got to have some dog about you and you need to do whatever it

:21:21. > :21:24.takes to knock them out of their stride and I think they have been

:21:25. > :21:29.too nice. A major rebuilding process to go on at St Helens with the new

:21:30. > :21:38.coach, Justin Holbrook coming in in the next couple of weeks. The

:21:39. > :21:44.coaches holding the reins can only look on. They both remain at the

:21:45. > :21:48.club along with Derek trainer, who has been responsible for the academy

:21:49. > :21:56.and he has done a great job. He will carry on doing that. It is the main

:21:57. > :22:04.man Justin Holbrook who will have the big job on his hands. James Roby

:22:05. > :22:13.at dummy half goes back to Smith and Fages. How many times have we seen

:22:14. > :22:30.that over the season? It puts pressure on when the centres are

:22:31. > :22:34.working hard like that. Forward pass. Great things he is over to

:22:35. > :22:40.score a try but it was a forward pass. -- Grace thinks he is over.

:22:41. > :23:05.Forward pass? No way! But her dad said forward pass. You

:23:06. > :23:09.have to feel for the Saints players. You're under the glare of national

:23:10. > :23:17.television. You're just getting walloped.

:23:18. > :23:28.Here goes the other winger, Minikin. Reaching out for him, cannot put a

:23:29. > :23:35.hand on him. Minikin is underneath the posts. The procession continues.

:23:36. > :23:41.It's quite a gala day at the Jungle today. Castleford, I think it's

:23:42. > :23:47.their tenth trial of the afternoon. They are romping to victory.

:23:48. > :23:55.Beautiful pass, I think it is Tom Holmes. The quickness of the hand

:23:56. > :24:04.just tax it in. The beautiful pass. The skills, the quality of the

:24:05. > :24:15.skill. Bang, bang, gone. Has a lot to do. Poor communication. Slips

:24:16. > :24:22.three defenders and he's away. Greg Eden on the left wing and Minikin on

:24:23. > :24:30.the right. Anything you can do, I can do better. Cracking finish,

:24:31. > :24:38.shows pace, power, the termination. Marvellous try, these two wingers

:24:39. > :24:47.are on fire. Combined total of 33 tries this

:24:48. > :25:02.Castleford's 40th game of the season. Gale looking to add another

:25:03. > :25:11.two. One of the simpler kicks, right under the sticks. Castleford playing

:25:12. > :25:21.with a huge smile on their faces. Got a lot to do. You have to

:25:22. > :25:27.communicate. Shows on the inside, Burns you for pace. The matter how

:25:28. > :25:31.good Castleford are, one of the purist Saints side I've ever seen.

:25:32. > :25:41.Nothing in attack and nothing in defence. There's a lot of rebuilding

:25:42. > :25:46.to do here. Matty Smith is going short. Trying to get the ball back

:25:47. > :25:49.but all he has done is give Castleford possession. Prodigious

:25:50. > :26:13.leap. Webster now. Matt Cooke. We have waxed lyrical

:26:14. > :26:16.about the three quarters on the half-backs. Those men in the middle

:26:17. > :26:20.do a good job as well. They get them forward with purpose and play the

:26:21. > :26:25.ball quickly and they find a space for the hookers and the half-backs

:26:26. > :26:31.to play. Andy Lynch, 37 years of age. Still one of the most effective

:26:32. > :26:42.props in the game. There are big side. We saw the line-ups. Very big

:26:43. > :26:46.side. Pumps it back to Gale. St Helens on the chase. Adam Swift has

:26:47. > :26:52.it, trying to get out of the in-goal area. Back to the relative safety of

:26:53. > :27:08.the field of play. Another set of six to get themselves downfield.

:27:09. > :27:49.Trying to find some space betwixt and between the back three.

:27:50. > :28:02.The ground is strangely quiet. Just waiting for the next try. Especially

:28:03. > :28:07.with the quality football they are playing. Sunday afternoon,

:28:08. > :28:14.entertaining. Ready for the big celebration at the end, I think.

:28:15. > :28:20.Gale, ball carried in one hand, Shenton is there to take it. Inside

:28:21. > :28:30.and out of Wilkin. The game is on again. With the real honest

:28:31. > :28:39.endeavour. They're always ready to go, with every play. He's back

:28:40. > :28:54.there, bit of space. Cover the space quickly, almost got away. He just

:28:55. > :29:14.had his. Saints's turn to take the ball quickly.

:29:15. > :29:33.Angle right down the middle. It's Morgan. Wrapped up and slow down.

:29:34. > :29:37.Now it's Matty Smith. Jon Wilkin. Taia is the go to man. He looks the

:29:38. > :29:42.only threatening runner they have got. Basically against Tom Holmes

:29:43. > :29:47.and there is a big difference in stature. He is off-loading their and

:29:48. > :29:55.creating some problems. Castleford defensively are very good. Clear

:29:56. > :30:06.push. Let's see if they can defend their own line. That was on Morgan.

:30:07. > :30:08.Just ensuring that there is no further repeat of the first-half

:30:09. > :30:22.try. Can St Helens find a way over here

:30:23. > :30:30.to lift their spirits. Douglas is in! They St Helens fans celebrate as

:30:31. > :30:38.though it was a matchwinner. Even the Castleford fans are applauding

:30:39. > :30:45.that. Irony and sarcasm from one end to the other. Shenton giving away

:30:46. > :30:50.the penalty and great field position for St Helens. You felt if they were

:30:51. > :30:57.going to score it was either a kick or a clothesline barge over. That's

:30:58. > :31:05.exactly what has happened. The kick goes over as well. Taking St Helens

:31:06. > :31:15.into double figures. They have ten points. The other lot have got 53.

:31:16. > :31:20.Five and a half minutes to go. Some reward for the big prop forward but

:31:21. > :31:26.it's been basically an onslaught by the Castleford attack. Efficiency in

:31:27. > :31:37.the Castleford defence to snuff out anything that Saints have had. Zach

:31:38. > :31:44.Hardaker with the restart, Castleford stung but having conceded

:31:45. > :31:49.but still leading by 53-10. Pi will drive it through. Taia will drive it

:31:50. > :32:04.through. A Amor picks himself up. Pryor to the

:32:05. > :32:52.left-hand side, Little step. Douglas is driving it in. Trying to

:32:53. > :32:59.finish the game with a little bit of restored pride. He didn't play that.

:33:00. > :33:06.Belated from the referee but fairly obvious. The touch judge said it was

:33:07. > :33:11.a knock-on. It's been a great collective effort. Could have given

:33:12. > :33:34.it to anyone of them. Challenge Cup mile of the match,

:33:35. > :33:40.Luke Gale. Ben Roberts was fantastic for about 20 minutes he was out

:33:41. > :34:01.there. Luke Gale has just been in amongst everything.

:34:02. > :34:12.Hardaker is hurt. Little bit of late concern here.

:34:13. > :34:22.Pretty sure Daryl Powell, they have won the game, he can get to the game

:34:23. > :34:27.and not finishes with injuries. This will be a concern. We were going to

:34:28. > :34:38.show you the replay but we had a look at it and it's just a little

:34:39. > :34:50.bit too graphic. A bend against the normality of biology. The

:34:51. > :34:59.ex-professional player himself out there. Current England physio. Will

:35:00. > :35:14.look at Nick -- more make sure he's looked after.

:35:15. > :35:25.Gets caught. I'm sure the coach will be indicating who he wants to

:35:26. > :35:31.interchange. And what amendments he has to make to his team for that. He

:35:32. > :35:32.is being helped off. There will be some encouragement at the way he's

:35:33. > :36:07.going off. Andy Lynch taking won towards the

:36:08. > :36:11.halfway line. Another moment of sparkle to be produced by Castleford

:36:12. > :36:22.at the end of the game? Do St Helens show some backbone? Luke Gale stands

:36:23. > :36:29.and waits, Andy Lynch to his right. Here comes the last play. What is in

:36:30. > :36:36.the locker this time? Luke Gale with another kick into the pocket. It

:36:37. > :36:46.doesn't hold up. Seven tackle play back on the 20 metres. Two and a

:36:47. > :36:52.half minutes to go. Don't forget the Warrington Widnes game tomorrow. It

:36:53. > :36:58.should be cracking. The guys in amber and Black have really put a

:36:59. > :37:02.marker down in this competition. They are saying we are interested in

:37:03. > :37:07.this. We fancy a trip to Wembley and we fancy a successful trip to

:37:08. > :37:08.Wembley. It will take a good aggressive defensive effort to stop

:37:09. > :37:24.them. Three tackles to go as Fages goes

:37:25. > :37:31.down the blindside. Running into a brick wall but they keep it alive.

:37:32. > :37:39.Smith. Richards. Smith. Back to Jon Wilkin. This is nice. Richards

:37:40. > :37:46.again. Fages nearly smuggles through. Play on. The quarterbacks

:37:47. > :37:54.pass from Jesse Sene-Lefao to the near side. The news we are getting

:37:55. > :38:00.an Zak Hardaker is ligament damage but we are not sure how serious.

:38:01. > :38:13.A bit of nonsense going on. There we go. Ankle. Yes, the pizzas are

:38:14. > :38:18.ready. Not a bad dressing room to be in. You have won the game, cup tie,

:38:19. > :38:21.and you get a pizza! But Zak Hardaker is not too happy at the

:38:22. > :38:36.moment with that ligament damage. Paul McShane. Jesse Sene-Lefao. Adam

:38:37. > :38:43.Milner. The crowd response to that pass. Trying to duck through.

:38:44. > :38:54.Carries it. Back to Paul McShane. Walking start. Jesse Sene-Lefao how.

:38:55. > :38:57.Michael Shenton has to go on his own because his winger has disappeared.

:38:58. > :39:07.Down the middle. Paul McShane was aware of the time

:39:08. > :39:16.on the clock there. Absolutely right. 80 minutes. It has been

:39:17. > :39:22.joyous and jubilant as far as Castleford are concerned. Big job

:39:23. > :39:26.ahead for Justin Holbrook, the new St Helens coach. They are out of the

:39:27. > :39:29.Ladbrokes Challenge Cup for another year. Castleford are in the

:39:30. > :39:38.quarterfinals and Daryl Powell can reflect on what has been another

:39:39. > :39:43.wonderful performance by his side. Another in a catalogue of great

:39:44. > :39:49.performances this season. 53-10 and ten tries scored. When the draw was

:39:50. > :39:54.made, you thought it was a tricky one for Castleford. They are riding

:39:55. > :39:57.on a crest of a way that the top of the Super League, yes, but they

:39:58. > :40:06.dispatched St Helens very clinically. Great attacking play. If

:40:07. > :40:08.they can keep their players fit and healthy, they have set a marker and

:40:09. > :40:15.they will be very difficult to beat in this knockout competition. We

:40:16. > :40:19.could comment on St Helens but we have got to compliment Castleford on

:40:20. > :40:27.their excellence. They have been first class. Luke Gale is with

:40:28. > :40:31.Tanya. You look like you had fun out there, you guys. We are just a group

:40:32. > :40:37.of fellows who enjoy playing footie together. We have fun at training

:40:38. > :40:41.and we bring it onto the as well. Our standout performance and that is

:40:42. > :40:45.what we have got in the locker. What pleases you more, the point or the

:40:46. > :40:48.defensive performance? Last year we were criticised by our defence and

:40:49. > :40:52.we knew we had to improve on our defence that we have done that but

:40:53. > :40:57.we do enjoy throwing the ball about. You can tell from our performance.

:40:58. > :41:00.What a couple of weeks for you, playing for England, great

:41:01. > :41:08.performance. How do you sum up the last few weeks? Read few weeks. Went

:41:09. > :41:13.and got a suntan. -- great few weeks. We have backed it up today.

:41:14. > :41:16.Very happy for the boys. A special group of players down here and

:41:17. > :41:21.hopefully we can go a long way in this competition. Another 50 points

:41:22. > :41:25.racked up. We like to send the fans home happy. These fans are great. A

:41:26. > :41:33.special shout out to them. We can hear them now. They are fantastic.

:41:34. > :41:39.Well played. Thank you. I am not sure what to say to you. What was it

:41:40. > :41:42.like out there for you? Firstly congratulations to Castleford. They

:41:43. > :41:45.have been exceptional all year and they have really set the standard

:41:46. > :41:50.and they have played an exciting brand of rugby. Credit to

:41:51. > :41:53.Castleford. The Castleford of old is back. All credit to them because

:41:54. > :41:57.they were exceptional and Daryl Powell has done an amazing job with

:41:58. > :42:03.the team. They will go a long way in this cup and also in Super League.

:42:04. > :42:06.From our perspective... It is a long road ahead for you guys with the new

:42:07. > :42:12.coach coming in. It doesn't get much worse than we are at the moment. In

:42:13. > :42:16.15 years at the time, this is the lowest point. Will that be the

:42:17. > :42:23.toughest job for him, picking you guys up? It is a big job, huge job.

:42:24. > :42:27.At the moment confidence is gone and self belief disappears and then you

:42:28. > :42:30.are in that negative spiral and we are not at the moment and we can't

:42:31. > :42:37.get out and we need something to break it. -- we are in that at the

:42:38. > :42:41.moment. Castleford have turned us over in good style and they were the

:42:42. > :42:45.better side all day and we need some self reflection. We have got some

:42:46. > :42:46.really hard work to do, to be honest, the honest answer. I

:42:47. > :42:58.appreciate your time. A gutted Jon Wilkin shakes Robbie's

:42:59. > :43:03.hand as he goes off the pitch. This is the sport coming your way on the

:43:04. > :43:10.BBC. We are going to move to the red forum very shortly. #BBCRL if you

:43:11. > :43:29.want to get involved. Sam, Castleford have polled 50

:43:30. > :43:35.points on Leeds, Huddersfield, Wigan and Saints of the season. That is

:43:36. > :43:38.some record. Everyone has said it, Plassey Castleford. They threw the

:43:39. > :43:43.ball around really well. We touched on it earlier. The defence has

:43:44. > :43:46.improved. The only reason they get him a chance to throw the ball

:43:47. > :43:50.around is because the defence is solid as well. Plenty more

:43:51. > :43:54.discussion of reaction on the red forum. But you can see how

:43:55. > :43:59.devastated Jon Wilkin was. This is big work for the new coach at

:44:00. > :44:03.Saints. I thought he spoke eloquently about, especially off the

:44:04. > :44:10.back of that defeat. You talk about confidence and self belief. They

:44:11. > :44:16.need to work hard and try and get it back. Don't address made a difficult

:44:17. > :44:21.it was coming here at this moment. 50 points on most teams this year.

:44:22. > :44:26.-- don't underestimate how difficult it was coming here at this moment.

:44:27. > :44:31.There is so much rugby league coming your way in 2017.
