:01:37. > :01:42.

:01:42. > :01:46.Ireland thrashed by New Zealand in Auckland. Newsy and snatched a

:01:46. > :01:56.lucky victory over Ireland thanks to a last-minute drop goal by Dan

:01:56. > :01:59.

:01:59. > :02:09.Ireland have been thrashed by the All Blacks. News event scored nine

:02:09. > :02:09.

:02:10. > :02:19.tries. It is ball games in a row that we haven't won. You are

:02:19. > :02:25.looking for us to make excuses and After that 5th defeat in a row,

:02:25. > :02:30.their worst run in 14 years, Declan Kidney has decided to try some new

:02:30. > :02:35.faces. No new caps but 12 changes from last Saturday's starting line-

:02:36. > :02:41.up. Fiji are entertaining opponents but this is proving difficult, with

:02:41. > :02:47.allegations that some clubs are not releasing their top South Sea

:02:47. > :02:52.islanders. Come what may, they will receive a great reception in

:02:52. > :03:00.Limerick, where Munster have always enjoyed welcoming and beating

:03:01. > :03:05.international sides. They are stills -- still smiling despite

:03:06. > :03:10.five defeats in a row. Jamie Heaslip, Conor Murray and Mike Ross

:03:10. > :03:16.are the only three from last Saturday in the starting line-up.

:03:16. > :03:26.It is not a Test match. Ireland are contractually only allowed to play

:03:26. > :03:32.home tests at a different stadium. Welcome to Thomond Park. First time

:03:32. > :03:42.for me here. Who would you want sat next to you on a chilly night but

:03:42. > :03:46.Mr Munster himself? Without a shadow of the doubt! This is all

:03:46. > :03:50.about giving new faces an opportunity, perhaps to play

:03:50. > :03:56.themselves into the Test side for that all-important game against

:03:56. > :04:00.Argentine end next week. There has been a huge call for making changes.

:04:00. > :04:08.This could give the opportunity to see the Irish team for the next

:04:08. > :04:12.three years. Become a star tonight, make a name. Absolutely. Ulster has

:04:12. > :04:17.been the province of Ireland currently in this season, and

:04:17. > :04:25.deservedly so, because they have shown great form. I hope they can

:04:25. > :04:28.bring their form into this Ireland XV. Last night's performance from

:04:28. > :04:34.us Samoa to beat Wales shows you should not underestimate the South

:04:34. > :04:37.Sea Ireland's. Absolutely. Fiji have their own problems and the

:04:37. > :04:42.players that have not been released but they have this spark and the

:04:42. > :04:47.ability to ignite and they can be very difficult to play against, and

:04:47. > :04:51.Wales were blown away by it last night. We will talk about the

:04:51. > :04:56.specifics in a minute but we could not come from this town without

:04:56. > :05:01.finding more from Keith. Limerick is the town he went to school with

:05:01. > :05:11.and he played a bit of rugby for Munster, of course. This is his

:05:11. > :05:12.

:05:12. > :05:17.guide to Limerick. I was born in Limerick but my real association

:05:17. > :05:22.started here, 12 years later, at this college. This was the

:05:22. > :05:28.foundation of a lot of great rugby stars in Ireland, from Anthony

:05:28. > :05:32.Foley to Jerry Flannery and presence stars. It looks a bit drab

:05:32. > :05:42.now but it is in the middle of a big refurbishment and it will be

:05:42. > :05:42.

:05:42. > :05:47.This is the first place I picked up a rugby ball and I put it back down

:05:47. > :05:57.two years later because I was a bit too small. I suppose there is hope

:05:57. > :06:04.

:06:04. > :06:08.I am here on the living bridge in Limerick, a link between where I

:06:08. > :06:12.came from in County Clare to where I played a lot of my early rugby in

:06:12. > :06:18.County Limerick. It is based in the universe de of Limerick, a place

:06:18. > :06:23.that has been at the forefront of sport and changed row last 30 or 40

:06:23. > :06:28.years. It was the home for Olympic athletes, the first place for an

:06:28. > :06:32.Irish 50 metre pool, one of the central pillars of Limerick, that

:06:32. > :06:37.and Thomond Park. When I first walked out on Thomond Park all

:06:37. > :06:40.those years ago, it was radically different. It has had a

:06:40. > :06:45.transformation. Back then it was great and bleak when empty and

:06:45. > :06:51.magnificent when it was full, and now it is magnificent all the time.

:06:51. > :06:57.But one thing has stayed the same: The fans. The distance of the

:06:57. > :07:02.support is only the events of the arm to pat you on the back. -- the

:07:02. > :07:07.distance of the support is only the length of a non Atapattu on the

:07:07. > :07:14.back. Watch out Michael Payne limp! Could you tell everybody way you

:07:14. > :07:21.were entry you had lunch with today? The JP McManus scholarships

:07:21. > :07:26.were announced today and Bill Clinton was there and six I was

:07:26. > :07:31.invited. He made an important point. Too many people live in the past

:07:31. > :07:38.and they need to look and live in the future. That fits. Inspiration

:07:38. > :07:47.for this group of players. That is me with the ball! The interesting

:07:47. > :07:51.bowl haircut! Have you ever see me with hair? No! How big is rugby

:07:51. > :07:56.here and how important is it compare to be Gaelic sports? We

:07:57. > :08:03.know it is a constant tussle to attracts them away from soccer and

:08:03. > :08:08.the traditional sports. In Limerick, everybody supports everything.

:08:08. > :08:13.Every sport is supported by everybody. You can kind of play

:08:13. > :08:17.everything. All facets of society play it. Perhaps more mixed in

:08:17. > :08:21.terms of the working class, middle class, than perhaps Dublin, which

:08:21. > :08:27.tends to be the middle class and private schools. It has been

:08:27. > :08:30.considered as such. But everybody liked rugby. It is incredibly

:08:30. > :08:35.important. Limerick has had tough times in the past and when it has

:08:35. > :08:39.needed to hang its hat on something it has hung it on sport and we saw

:08:39. > :08:44.the footage of 1978 and the Munster beating the All Blacks and that was

:08:44. > :08:54.very, very important. It was a tough time in Ireland and it was

:08:54. > :08:55.

:08:55. > :09:01.I don't know if I was at that game, I was six years. My father would

:09:01. > :09:11.have been at it. I have no memory of if I was with him. There were

:09:11. > :09:11.

:09:11. > :09:15.12,000 at the game but 350,000 say they were there! Denis Hurley's

:09:15. > :09:20.that was in at Munster side so it there is a link and two years ago,

:09:20. > :09:26.but victory over Australia. And the worst weather of all time. The

:09:26. > :09:30.biggest issue I have of this game, absolutely brilliant, Munster were

:09:30. > :09:34.playing incredibly well and so much great effort put in by a lot of

:09:34. > :09:41.young guys, and some us those was so fantastic that day and we have

:09:41. > :09:45.not seen them since, which is one of the issues. When guys put their

:09:45. > :09:51.hand up in the big games and if you can mix it with that, you have to

:09:51. > :10:01.be able to mix it again in the future. This is the frustration and

:10:01. > :10:02.

:10:02. > :10:08.Five wins out of seven in the Ireland Cup finals, so well, and

:10:08. > :10:14.yet it does not seem to filter up the chain. Munster were so dominant

:10:14. > :10:17.in Europe, winning the competition so many times and could not get

:10:17. > :10:22.that performance in the green jersey, and Declan kidney came in

:10:22. > :10:32.and in the first year, he wins the Grand Slam and you think, this is

:10:32. > :10:38.

:10:38. > :10:48.the transformation. But for me, Keith and I have this discussion,

:10:48. > :10:54.why don't they manage to perform? If we has... As we have seen, it

:10:54. > :11:00.must be the green jersey, a mental block. They just become nervous and

:11:00. > :11:04.not composed enough when they are wearing the green a set up which I

:11:04. > :11:10.just cannot understand because they are very good. Do you they agreed?

:11:11. > :11:15.Yeah. We have argued for a long time. I am not necessarily agreeing

:11:15. > :11:19.with him but I am struggling to find my own reasons for why it does

:11:19. > :11:26.not translate. When you look at the quality of the Irish team that has

:11:26. > :11:31.been there for eight or ten years, you would have... 1 Grand Slam is

:11:31. > :11:39.not a great return. But the history of Irish rugby is equal to

:11:39. > :11:45.everything else that has happened. Maybe we will see a shackles off

:11:45. > :11:49.performance today. Kidney was coaching Munster in 2006 and 2008.

:11:49. > :11:53.I wonder he could tap into whatever it was the magic and a winning

:11:53. > :11:59.performance is that he managed to elicit from them. I am sure he

:11:59. > :12:05.would like to find that. Five defeats in a row.

:12:05. > :12:13.Given the victory by Samoa over Wales, does that concentrate the

:12:13. > :12:19.It certainly does. If you look at the June game between Fiji and

:12:19. > :12:28.Samoa, there were only three points in it. We are no illusions -- under

:12:28. > :12:32.no illusions about the size of the task. Winning has not come it easy

:12:33. > :12:37.for Ireland today. Is that the motivation? No, it is about

:12:37. > :12:42.performing properly, and I mean for 80 minutes. We have had good

:12:42. > :12:47.patches of play but because we have not put it in for 80 minutes, we

:12:47. > :12:51.have been beaten, so we need to rectify that. As a man of Munster,

:12:52. > :12:56.you know this ground well. You have gone for a crop of young Ulster men.

:12:56. > :12:59.Do you think they have the X- factor? They are here on merit and

:12:59. > :13:04.that is what we told them. They are picked for what they have been

:13:04. > :13:08.doing in the last 12 months. If they bring that with them, they

:13:08. > :13:18.have been exciting to watch and a few of them have not been even

:13:18. > :13:22.starting in Heineken Cup matches, but we are looking forward to it

:13:22. > :13:30.today. Paddy Jackson, fly half Foster, a

:13:30. > :13:37.great opportunity for him to make his debut in a sit Cup shirt. -- in

:13:37. > :13:46.an Ireland shirt. He got drafted into the Ulster team semi-final

:13:46. > :13:50.last year and he did very well. He was absolutely... He stood up very

:13:50. > :13:59.well and he has matured a lot since and he is very fortunate. He is

:13:59. > :14:05.grubbing and learning. He is young and he will not have the baggage,

:14:05. > :14:08.he is playing for a winning Ulster team. He understands the

:14:08. > :14:15.expectation of playing on a big occasion having played in the

:14:15. > :14:19.Heineken Cup against Leinster and he has a lot of his team-mates. It

:14:19. > :14:28.is just how his game starts. As long as he does not make too many

:14:28. > :14:32.mistakes, he will grow in confidence. Now, this man has only

:14:32. > :14:39.played 80 minutes of top-level rugby twice. And only six

:14:39. > :14:43.appearances so far. Six games for Ulster and knows sides before that

:14:43. > :14:53.and suddenly last week he is given an Irish jersey and gets his first

:14:53. > :14:54.

:14:54. > :14:58.cap and a back -- and it is incredibly exciting. A lot of this

:14:58. > :15:03.team off fairly fresh in terms of international experience and that

:15:03. > :15:08.is not a bad thing. For too long, Ireland wait until everything is

:15:08. > :15:12.right, tell everybody is fit and fast and experienced enough. You

:15:12. > :15:19.want them to have a spark and you never want to lose that spark.

:15:19. > :15:23.have to give them the opportunity. He has been brought along on Ulster

:15:23. > :15:29.doing so well. A massive competition for him to get that

:15:29. > :15:34.opportunities, but when you here a youngster coming through who is so

:15:34. > :15:39.good, you have to make room for them and try to get them in in Test

:15:39. > :15:44.matches, give him 20 minutes. O'Driscoll was saying last week,

:15:44. > :15:48.you think you play an intense game in a Heineken Cup match but the

:15:48. > :15:51.difference of the step up to international rugby, you can only

:15:51. > :15:56.experience it by taking part. you never know until you are

:15:56. > :16:01.speaking to the guys. If anything, that gap is getting bigger. You

:16:01. > :16:07.have to give them the chance to see how the players react. Let's be

:16:07. > :16:16.fair, it is not a test. That is something that is quite

:16:17. > :16:20.controversial for Fiji. Should be It is tied into a contractual

:16:20. > :16:26.rights situation were by all the international matches have to be at

:16:26. > :16:31.the Aviva stadium in Dublin. The South Sea islands do not actually

:16:31. > :16:37.get the respect they deserved and when the match, would you it does

:16:37. > :16:40.not happen and it gets put into a representative game. I think that

:16:40. > :16:44.they are FA has missed a trick here. There should have been a run in

:16:44. > :16:50.association to say that they wanted to take this down to Limerick. And

:16:50. > :16:55.do it for the right reasons. That is one issue Fiji have got to be

:16:55. > :17:05.worried about. The other one which is deeper and more worrying is this

:17:05. > :17:07.

:17:07. > :17:13.trend for players not to be released for them. What can the IRB

:17:13. > :17:18.do to make sure that this does not happen and that their players are

:17:18. > :17:21.released and they are a competitive force? It is about finances. The

:17:22. > :17:25.Fijian players supporter a huge rally back in their homeland. And

:17:25. > :17:31.for them not to play for their country they lose out financially

:17:31. > :17:35.which means their families lose out back home, so they up doing the

:17:35. > :17:40.right thing, in a way. And the only way that the IRB can affect it is

:17:40. > :17:44.by giving them that financial support. The match should subsidise

:17:44. > :17:53.the club and paid some money, for the likes of Western Samoa, Fiji

:17:53. > :18:00.and Tonga. They scored an impressive try against England last

:18:00. > :18:07.week. He plays for Glasgow on the wing. That shows you the

:18:07. > :18:11.difficulties they have to contend with. It shows the difficulty, and

:18:11. > :18:16.that most positions are interchangeable for them. They are

:18:16. > :18:22.very comfortable with the ball, whereas we tend to pigeonhole

:18:22. > :18:26.players early on in their careers and that is where they tend to go.

:18:26. > :18:33.Fiji, their sevens team travelled round the world and have done so

:18:33. > :18:39.well. Since the last time they played in 2009, Ireland a plague

:18:39. > :18:47.that to six games and the Fijians have only played 16. -- Ireland

:18:47. > :18:51.have played a 36 games. Unless they play in this -- the Pacific nation

:18:51. > :18:58.come, then coming here, playing the northern hemisphere stuff, the

:18:58. > :19:01.Magyar going to struggle. They will miss what they Fijians then to

:19:01. > :19:06.rugby if they continue to drift away as it is at the moment, it

:19:06. > :19:11.would be a disgrace. They might bring something of pure

:19:11. > :19:21.unadulterated joy with the Bobby ball. And there statistics in the

:19:21. > :19:22.

:19:22. > :19:26.scrum are quite impressive -- with the rugby ball. If you play

:19:26. > :19:31.opposition that is a grade or two above, you rise to the occasion.

:19:31. > :19:34.Today, they feel that this is a disrespectful because it has not

:19:34. > :19:42.been made a Test match and they feel it possibly should have been

:19:42. > :19:47.played at the Aviva Stadium. There will be a minute's silence for a

:19:47. > :19:56.former Fijian international. He was a member of the PG World Cup that

:19:56. > :20:06.beat Wales in a quarter final of the 2007 World Cup. -- Fijian World

:20:06. > :20:12.

:20:12. > :20:16.Cup side. Heading down to pitch- side now. Gerry is considered a

:20:16. > :20:21.veteran now, Jerry Flannery, how excited are you, when you look at

:20:21. > :20:30.the back line and you look at those players and you think they are

:20:30. > :20:33.playing well for Ulster, how might they book for Ireland? Gilroy did

:20:33. > :20:38.exceptionally well here, and the likes of Luke Marshall, have all

:20:39. > :20:42.been earmarked for the future for Ireland and whilst they might not

:20:42. > :20:49.play a massive part in the next six months I think they have got a big

:20:49. > :20:54.future. Are Ireland cannot seem to win at the moment. Ulster by

:20:54. > :20:59.comparison are unbeaten. Do you think some of that confidence

:20:59. > :21:02.Ulster Harp might seep through to Ireland? It is easier to win at

:21:02. > :21:07.international level if you have been winning at provincial level.

:21:07. > :21:13.And going from Ulster to Ireland will be easier for these lads. They

:21:13. > :21:17.are used to winning. I hope that it will rub off and get a bit of

:21:17. > :21:23.momentum back into the national squad again. A man who is very

:21:23. > :21:30.familiar with this famous ground. Just how much do the people of

:21:30. > :21:39.Limerick get behind Ireland? A call to arms? There has been a good buzz

:21:39. > :21:42.around the city. There has been a big uptake inside Thomond Park.

:21:42. > :21:52.People love their rugby year, and it is a great advertisement for the

:21:52. > :21:53.

:21:53. > :22:03.city. Thank you. Thank you very much. Predictions? I hope that were

:22:03. > :22:04.

:22:04. > :22:09.going to see this spark, a team that will play together as a team,

:22:09. > :22:18.and to try and see if we can unearth two of three stars, and

:22:18. > :22:23.play a structured game, but UN Ireland victory. But they play

:22:23. > :22:32.sensibly and do the basics they will win, they don't need to try to

:22:32. > :22:42.impress too much, just do it together, and they mac ll win. --

:29:03. > :29:10.shame, Philip Matthews, it is not a full international. That is down to

:29:10. > :29:17.contractual arrangements. But it is a no-risk game for Declan Kidney to

:29:17. > :29:19.blood some youngsters, particularly from Ulster. There will be a big

:29:19. > :29:29.opportunity to play themselves into contention in the coming couple of

:21:52. > :21:56.Ireland running on to the ball. You can only play what you have in

:21:56. > :22:03.front of you and I think they have played with discipline and

:22:03. > :22:07.composure. Some mistakes, it is a bit of a wet evening, but they have

:22:07. > :22:14.been attacking that space which we have not seen for a while, and some

:22:14. > :22:18.of the young guns have done incredibly well. It is like a

:22:18. > :22:23.striker, goal hanging in football, you just the time the ball and he

:22:23. > :22:28.knocks it in from three yards, but it has been very controlled from

:22:28. > :22:33.Luke Marshall, and from Jackson. It has been put on a plate for well

:22:43. > :22:43.

:22:43. > :22:53.control, but a big tip for the Irish 15. Some great work from Luke

:23:01. > :23:09.be looking out at Luke Marshall. Does he going, or does he go out to

:23:14. > :23:19.and Craig will Roy is in. That is a very well worked and executed try.

:23:19. > :23:26.The passing is slick, but if you look at the Fijian defence they one

:23:26. > :23:32.of, and stop. You cannot stop. They needed to push out but they didn't.

:23:32. > :23:38.But, some very slick passing. You can see the rain pouring down on

:23:38. > :23:45.the screen. He gives it at exactly the right time. We saw that from

:23:45. > :23:49.Gilroy at last year. He knows where the line is. We have seen too many

:23:49. > :23:54.opportunities like that, not just at international level but at

:23:54. > :24:01.provincial, club level, you do not see this finishes made, three on

:24:01. > :24:08.two, four on two, it does not happen, they catch and draw the

:24:08. > :24:13.defence and let it go, but the young guy was quicker. They are

:24:13. > :24:20.unencumbered by the weight of experience. I think Henderson has

:24:20. > :24:25.carried incredibly well. He is not fluster. There is no panic. He is

:24:25. > :24:33.20 years of age. He knows exactly what he wants to do. Sometimes

:24:33. > :24:38.these guys try to do too much but he is just doing his job. He is

:24:38. > :24:48.protecting the ball. And if you can do that you are not doing anything

:24:48. > :24:49.

:24:49. > :24:54.wrong, you're going to get carrys and yardage. This was the first one

:25:04. > :25:08.

:25:08. > :25:16.You would expect Jackson to do it because in Pro12 he is 75%. He is

:25:16. > :25:22.quality. Some great work from Gilroy as well. Yes, I think he has

:25:22. > :25:27.actually been very exciting. He has had a huge comfort from having his

:25:27. > :25:34.Ulster team-mates around him. He knows he's going to get the ball

:25:34. > :25:38.where he likes it. When you see the scoreline of 0 at half-time you

:25:38. > :25:48.wonder but what the opposition have been putting out. And some of it

:25:48. > :25:48.

:25:48. > :25:53.has been suspect. Nicely tidied up in the centre of the fjord, but the

:25:53. > :25:56.set-up is so slow. They adding space for Ireland to run on to the

:25:56. > :26:01.ball. That will give them the opportunity to score. You cannot

:26:01. > :26:09.give them that space. It you're pushing out, you have to use the

:26:09. > :26:14.touch line. Mick fatten scoring those tries, he does not seem to

:26:14. > :26:17.get the run in his favourite position, which is centre. We have

:26:17. > :26:27.a great view of the work ethic of some of the players here, Sean

:26:27. > :26:32.Cronin. Taking on three Fijian defenders. He is kind of meandering

:26:32. > :26:42.off aura into the corner. They need to close down the space. He gets

:26:42. > :26:44.

:26:44. > :26:49.the chance, gets the ball and burrows over for the try. It is

:26:49. > :26:54.about composure. Nice and comfortable. Good control. There is

:26:54. > :26:59.nothing worse than knocking it on in that context, then you get the

:26:59. > :27:04.look from your team-mates, that you have not done very well. The

:27:04. > :27:11.mistake count has not been that bad for the Irish. Plus, the conditions

:27:11. > :27:19.have not been great. Marshal's partner at centre in Ulster has

:27:19. > :27:24.also managed to get over the line. They are watching the Fijian, Leon

:27:40. > :27:44.much. Great little show and go. These guys are going to be feeling

:27:44. > :27:50.good at half time, it is unusual for Declan Kidney, they are on a

:27:50. > :28:00.roll and playing well and they will just say, more of the same. Last

:28:00. > :28:01.

:28:01. > :28:07.week, we were pointing out how well some of them madly. So, he looked a

:28:07. > :28:09.little bit jokingly peeved at that, but, are you worried that you are a

:28:09. > :28:15.current Irish international thinking, there is some talent out

:28:15. > :28:20.there, they might go when to push for my position. I do not think

:28:20. > :28:23.that Rob Carney takes his position for granted. You have to take into

:28:24. > :28:27.account the opposition they are playing, but the truth is, you want

:28:27. > :28:33.someone who comes out here and there's a chance, to do well within

:28:33. > :28:36.the team context. If he does it properly, you know that he is going

:28:36. > :28:42.to be good enough for the future, he's going to have a chance in the

:28:42. > :28:47.future. They can only do what they are doing. They need to put the

:28:47. > :28:54.pressure on to those guys, but then the pressure goes back on to Declan

:28:54. > :29:00.Kidney. We can have another look at some of the other rugby that has

:29:00. > :29:04.been played this weekend. Scotland face South Africa this afternoon.

:29:04. > :29:09.South Africa fresh from victory over Ireland last week at the Aviva

:29:09. > :29:15.Stadium managed to rack up a 21-10 victory. It raised Strauss going

:29:15. > :29:24.over the line twice for the Springboks. The second half

:29:24. > :29:33.performance from Scotland, arguably stronger. This is the second try

:29:33. > :29:43.for Strauss. That is a good poacher's try! South Africa were

:29:43. > :29:46.

:29:46. > :29:53.just cruising. Good technique there, from the Glasgow scrum-half. We

:29:53. > :30:00.discussed Nicola Matawalu, who plays on the wing for Glasgow. That

:30:00. > :30:09.is a disappointing five in a row du Preez for Wales. Warren Gatland has

:30:09. > :30:14.time to survey the talent for next summer's Lions tour. An easy

:30:14. > :30:24.victory for New Zealand against Italy. And many of their stars

:30:24. > :30:27.

:30:27. > :30:33.rested. France play Argentina at 8 the ire be rankings and how it is

:30:33. > :30:40.known to affect Ireland, but that defeat for Wales could be costly.

:30:40. > :30:47.There is a level of confusion over what happens. For Ireland, it

:30:47. > :30:54.ultimately comes down to them having to beat Argentina. To ensure

:30:54. > :31:01.their top 8 seeding. The England game against still year, there will

:31:01. > :31:06.be highlights on BBC Three at 7pm. Some changes expected for the

:31:06. > :31:12.second half? There are going to have to be changes. Ireland need to

:31:12. > :31:22.be making certain that we are Paul Marshall coming on. There is some

:31:22. > :31:29.

:31:29. > :31:35.spark about that man. Back to us to start laughing too soon --

:31:35. > :31:43.Ireland will have to be careful. This is not an international six

:31:43. > :31:50.chip, but it would have stopped the rot. Ireland will want to maintain

:31:50. > :31:56.the focus and the discipline. They will need to maintain the

:31:56. > :32:06.commitment. Fiji are strong in the tackle. I am sure there were some

:32:06. > :33:53.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 171 seconds

:33:53. > :33:57.sharp words in the Fijian dressing momentum out of that attacks. A

:34:07. > :34:10.

:34:10. > :34:17.around the Irish scrum and whether first half performance. A lot of

:36:18. > :36:25.can't see any doubt to be honest. Any reason why I cannot award the

:38:02. > :38:10.it his shoulder? -- John Muldoon is was going to be held up but he

:38:10. > :38:14.squirmed his way out of it. Ireland keep the scoreboard moving. John

:38:15. > :38:24.Muldoon, the openside flanker, looks to be heading off. Since it

:38:24. > :38:32.is on a stretcher, it is not good news. It looks like a leg injury

:40:13. > :40:17.this do to my season? When a game has lost its intensity and the

:40:17. > :40:23.concentration can go a little bit. You often find there are more

:40:23. > :40:27.injuries in these situations and when it is full-blown. That's right.

:40:27. > :40:37.Awkward situations like that, you do things that are unfamiliar to

:40:37. > :41:24.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 171 seconds

:41:24. > :41:33.you. Let's hope that is not too particular. You could see everybody

:41:33. > :41:40.knew what to do. Good work by the Irish second rows. O'Callaghan has

:41:40. > :41:50.made himself a specialist in that. First scrum for Ireland in the

:45:11. > :45:18.getting to the stage where you are starting to think about scoring

:45:18. > :45:23.more tries and that can cause a bit of complacency and lack of focus.

:45:23. > :45:27.One of the good things is, but with so much young blood on this side,

:45:27. > :45:31.everybody is keen to make an impression, and that in itself can

:45:31. > :45:36.be enough motivation to keep the commitment. This is an investment

:45:36. > :45:42.in your future career. It may not happen next week against Argentina,

:45:42. > :45:52.that is a big one for Ireland. That is all about ranking places and the

:45:52. > :46:01.

:46:01. > :46:11.top eight and all sorts. This is the game against South Africa last

:47:18. > :48:06.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 171 seconds

:48:06. > :48:11.is playing to go on tour with Fiji best. A couple of success of

:48:11. > :48:16.mistakes from Lord Marshall. Ireland are trying to produce quick

:48:16. > :48:21.ball from Ambrose rucks. Conor Murray is trying to get it away

:48:21. > :48:31.quick. This is when the game should start to open up, and Ireland need

:48:56. > :49:02.to mind there are recant. -- their holding up the Fijian player, and

:49:02. > :49:10.again it works in their favour, the old Irish grab and hold, it has

:49:10. > :49:16.worked very well for them tonight. Donncha O'Callaghan has made that a

:49:25. > :49:35.upper-body strength, that is why he has been able to do that, plus his

:49:35. > :49:35.

:49:35. > :49:45.wily old head. Adding to his 89 caps. That was a milestone that he

:51:01. > :51:04.

:51:04. > :51:10.down towards the corner for the throw... They could improve their

:51:10. > :51:20.line-out by going short, and making it less complicated. In quick and

:53:59. > :54:03.support the ball carrier the way they did in the first half, quicker

:54:03. > :54:08.and more dynamically. They need to be quicker moving away from the

:56:50. > :56:51.

:56:51. > :56:57.a rolling maul, but a turnover of possession again. They want to put

:22:46. > :22:56.man. Then puts his Ulster team-mate look marshal in for a well deserved

:22:56. > :22:57.

:22:57. > :23:03.a try. -- Luke Marshall. He has read it well, Ian Henderson. That

:23:03. > :23:09.is a well-taken try. It makes up for a little bit of a lack of

:23:09. > :23:13.momentum and structure in the second half. The scored board not

:23:13. > :23:19.where you would expect it to have been, after what happened in the

:23:19. > :23:26.first half. This is going to be the last kick of the game, Paddy

:23:26. > :23:32.Jackson. Ireland a scored eight tries. They are over the 50. Mark.

:23:32. > :23:41.It has been a satisfactory night all round. Paddy Jackson ins it on

:23:41. > :23:46.an unsatisfactory note, the whistle goes. But it has been Ireland and

:23:46. > :23:51.nothing but Ireland. They lost 5 in succession and a back on the

:23:51. > :23:57.winning trail in annoy in Test match but the rot has been stopped

:23:57. > :24:01.and they can look forward to the huge challenge of Argentina in a

:24:02. > :24:10.weak's time. But here in Thomond Park, Limerick, it has been a happy

:24:10. > :24:16.night for the Irish, winning 53-0. Luke Marshall with a man of the

:24:16. > :24:20.match performance. Him and his Ulster team is, in particular had a

:24:21. > :24:30.good first half, and all in all, I think Declan Kidney will be very

:24:31. > :24:35.

:24:35. > :24:38.But the 3-0, plenty of players blooded, not a full cap, but a

:24:38. > :24:44.great experience. It will be interesting to see how many of

:24:44. > :24:48.those players get to play Test rugby in the near future. They

:24:48. > :24:54.pressure is now on Declan Kidney. Three of the Ulster players,

:24:54. > :25:00.Henderson, Gilroy, and Darren Cave, a fantastic. You have to take into

:25:00. > :25:09.account the opposition. But I would like to see Darren Cave in at No.

:25:09. > :25:15.12. And I think that it strengthens the away side. Three players, you

:25:15. > :25:22.reckon could go in? They showed enough that that is enough making a

:25:22. > :25:28.step, because they showed that spark that we did not see elastic.

:25:28. > :25:32.Darcy has been Alan's best tackler in the midfield, that would give

:25:32. > :25:37.you two quick guys in the midfield. Because he's only 20 years old he

:25:37. > :25:40.would be better brought on, because Ireland have great strength in debt

:25:40. > :25:44.and the back row, Jackson I would like to see off on the bench

:25:44. > :25:50.instead of O'Gara, because he is the future, and Jackson needs to be

:25:50. > :25:55.blooded. We can hear from skipper, Jamie Heaslip. When you have lost a

:25:55. > :26:00.couple on the bounce, how good is it for the side just to get a win

:26:00. > :26:05.again? Although we have had a three great week's training as a group,

:26:05. > :26:11.we have nothing to show for it, and today, lots of the young players

:26:11. > :26:16.played out of their skin and took the opportunity. I am happy to get

:26:16. > :26:25.a victory. Hat-trick for Craig Gilroy. Some of these youngsters

:26:25. > :26:28.have stake their claim. Yes, I think everyone was great. You can

:26:28. > :26:34.play your game within a our game and everybody bought into that,

:26:34. > :26:41.bought into the Jersey, and what it meant to everybody. It has been a

:26:41. > :26:51.busy weekend of international rugby. We can bring your right up to speed.

:26:51. > :26:59.

:26:59. > :27:08.Wales suffered a shock defeat to England against Australia is on BBC

:27:08. > :27:14.the right now, the highlights. Declan Kidney will take a punt, and

:27:14. > :27:18.include a couple of these players next week? I don't know. I would.

:27:18. > :27:24.That is where the pressure comes on. He has given them the chance and

:27:24. > :27:29.they have taken the jazz. That increases the pressure even more.

:27:30. > :27:34.The press will be clamouring for it. It is the front been in the

:27:34. > :27:41.Provincial Jersey to being in an Ireland Jersey, but they still did

:27:41. > :27:46.their job. Everett, and composure, that we have not seen for a while.

:27:46. > :27:50.The key is not like Declan Kidney to go with players who are

:27:50. > :27:54.experienced, he generally sticks to what he knows. But these young

:27:54. > :27:59.players deserve their chance and should be picked in. It is as

:27:59. > :28:03.intense playing Heineken Cup final as it is, playing an international.

:28:03. > :28:07.Otherwise, today is something of a waste, if you do not take the

:28:07. > :28:13.talent that is on show, you have wasted that chance we stop but

:28:13. > :28:18.considering the opposition, Fiji? They did not seem very composed as

:28:18. > :28:24.a team, the defence was all over the place, there handling skills
