:01:06. > :01:11.Early November at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. The champions of

:01:12. > :01:17.Europe against the second-best team in the world. Fantastic break by

:01:18. > :01:20.South Africa! It is the same old story. Wales still have only beaten

:01:21. > :01:45.South Africa once in 107 years. A wonderful try for Tony Faletau.

:01:46. > :02:05.The Argentinian defence caught out. The Springboks were not handing out

:02:06. > :02:11.any gifts, even if the Argentinians were, but as Wales' Autumn

:02:12. > :02:15.International campaign goes into the second half, it is time to welcome

:02:16. > :02:20.the South Sea Islands. 12 months ago, it was Samoa who came and left

:02:21. > :02:25.a victorious. This time, it is the turn of Tonga. Wales are clearly on

:02:26. > :02:32.an upward curve. Tonight is time to get their skates on. Three weeks of

:02:33. > :02:39.rough and tumble has left the team looking like they are in an A

:02:40. > :02:46.department. This evening, Ryan Jones captains Wales with Sam Warburton on

:02:47. > :02:50.the bench. The 73rd cap for James Hook in a star-studded back

:02:51. > :02:55.division. Tonga, they are always euphemistically described as

:02:56. > :02:59.uncompromising, and if it has been physical over the past two weeks,

:03:00. > :03:06.when it is time for round three of these water nationals -- of these

:03:07. > :03:11.Autumn Internationals, it could get tough. But these guys can play, as

:03:12. > :03:16.France will testify, after they were given a real run for their money

:03:17. > :03:20.last weekend. Two really good tries in the corner. This is one of the

:03:21. > :03:26.iconic stadiums of world rug, and for almost all these players, it is

:03:27. > :03:31.their first time here. It has been a real winter 's day in Cardiff, but

:03:32. > :03:36.in a good way. The roof is on, which will hopefully keep us all warm.

:03:37. > :03:44.What better way to start a weekend of international rugby on a Friday

:03:45. > :03:49.night? We can go back in time is -- back in time with our memories.

:03:50. > :03:58.Tonight we have the technology to do it. Tonight is the night before The

:03:59. > :04:02.Doctor! This is the fourth of five weekends of international fixtures.

:04:03. > :04:04.Over the next 48 hours, we have Italy against Argentina. That is an

:04:05. > :04:24.interesting game. Perhaps the most eagerly anticipated

:04:25. > :04:31.match of the weekend is Wales against Australia. Keith, are you

:04:32. > :04:38.looking forward to the Irish match? Pure trepidation. They are afraid of

:04:39. > :04:43.their lives, of actually letting themselves down. They have a very,

:04:44. > :04:49.very outside chance of getting a win, and they are really afraid of

:04:50. > :04:53.just not turning up. And in the way that England upset New Zealand last

:04:54. > :04:56.year, because they want to go through the whole calendar year

:04:57. > :05:02.unbeaten, the motivation is there for the All Blacks in a big way. The

:05:03. > :05:07.All Blacks have the motivation. England is the template. Even with

:05:08. > :05:10.the level they played last week, with that level of absolute

:05:11. > :05:15.concentration, that is what is needed for Ireland to have any

:05:16. > :05:19.chance. Wales tonight of playing against a Tongan team that were

:05:20. > :05:27.perhaps regarded as the porcine Asian -- as the poor relations of

:05:28. > :05:31.the southern island teams. It is never easy to play the Pacific

:05:32. > :05:35.island teams. It could be a banana skin for Wales. They seem to get

:05:36. > :05:39.inspired when they come to the stadium. They are capable of winning

:05:40. > :05:44.against the top nations. They have beaten France and Scotland. With

:05:45. > :05:48.their talents, you cannot underestimate them. What a great

:05:49. > :05:54.opportunity it is for Tonga, because this is one of the world's great

:05:55. > :05:58.stadiums. There is no fear in their faces coming out. For them it is an

:05:59. > :06:03.opportunity. It especially with all the changes to the side for Wales.

:06:04. > :06:09.None of these players have ever played here before. Is that a

:06:10. > :06:13.factor? I think it inspires them. It is a great atmosphere. The roof will

:06:14. > :06:17.be shut. For a lot of these boys, it is a shop window will stop it is a

:06:18. > :06:23.professional game, and a lot of clubs will be doing -- will be

:06:24. > :06:27.watching. After the much improved performance against Argentina last

:06:28. > :06:35.week, the Welsh camp has been in a much more buoyant mood. We went

:06:36. > :06:40.along to meet them. Martyn Williams dropped a goal off the bench in the

:06:41. > :06:46.last World Cup, as he never ceases to tell people! The last time Wales

:06:47. > :06:54.played against Tonga, you were there on a Friday night. Any chance of a

:06:55. > :07:00.drop goal? I am on the bench this week. A little bit of rotation. To

:07:01. > :07:09.have a world-class seven is a luxury to have starting. It is the backs.

:07:10. > :07:14.The forwards will walk down, and the backs get the bus down, which is

:07:15. > :07:26.about 200 yards. And another 100 yards down to the pitch. Will you

:07:27. > :07:31.get a bus again? Outstanding performance on Saturday. Pretty

:07:32. > :07:39.confident? Re-Mac hopefully I can repeat the same against Tonga. Wales

:07:40. > :07:45.rugby coach, Warren Gatland, has given most of his star players the

:07:46. > :07:49.weekend off. There is a fair amount of experience amongst those changes

:07:50. > :07:57.as well. It was a bit of a surprise to everybody. We are looking forward

:07:58. > :08:02.to seeing James Hook back in it. It is always a difficult balance for

:08:03. > :08:15.the management team with injuries. Given a lot of the youngsters need

:08:16. > :08:20.an opportunity... Is he out again for his yearly Friday night game?

:08:21. > :08:28.What is your preparation for Tonga? We know what is coming. We've come

:08:29. > :08:33.unstuck before. We've got to be collectively better than them. Maybe

:08:34. > :08:38.two or three years ago, he made that many changes. Maybe you will be

:08:39. > :08:46.worrying? The lung -- the young players are coming in. You do have

:08:47. > :08:53.to get the speed up quickly. When was your last start for Wales? This

:08:54. > :09:02.time last year. Despite all the changes, it is Ystalyfera strong

:09:03. > :09:10.looking pack. Yes, we will try to take that front from the last game.

:09:11. > :09:14.That driver from the line-out. A bit of a different game plan as well. We

:09:15. > :09:21.are against different opposition. They are really physical. We need to

:09:22. > :09:30.go for their weaknesses. Any differences over last week? I think

:09:31. > :09:45.going. Keep your head down. I don't think I be running straight at! Keep

:09:46. > :09:50.your head down! Good luck. Shaun Edwards has upped the anti-bit this

:09:51. > :09:54.week by asking the referee if he would pay particular attention to

:09:55. > :09:59.hide tackles. Is this unwarranted reputation, or is it a bit of an

:10:00. > :10:03.urban myth? It was definitely warranted in times past, but both

:10:04. > :10:07.Samoa and Tonga have improved for that. It still doesn't make them shy

:10:08. > :10:12.of having a little bit of a scrap. They do hit really hard. They try

:10:13. > :10:15.and hit across the chest. The idea isn't about keeping your head down,

:10:16. > :10:22.it is about keeping your head up. That is a big difference. You have

:10:23. > :10:33.two usual footwork. You run straight, you run high. It is a

:10:34. > :10:36.physical game. I toured down there about tenures ago, and it is the

:10:37. > :10:43.friendliest face in the world to go. Little kids cross over the street to

:10:44. > :10:48.welcome you to the island, and then they absolutely smash you the second

:10:49. > :10:51.you go onto the grass! Tonight is a moment of history for Warren

:10:52. > :10:55.Gatland. It is his 100th international in charge of the

:10:56. > :11:03.national team. Tonight, it is his 59th time at the helm for Wales.

:11:04. > :11:08.Congratulations, Warren. Apart from the fact of getting a good win, what

:11:09. > :11:14.else to hope to get out of the game tonight? Thank you. It is a great

:11:15. > :11:19.opportunity for us to make so many changes. In the past, we haven't

:11:20. > :11:25.been so effective in doing that. It is a challenge for the team with the

:11:26. > :11:28.changes to give us a bit -- a good performance. It is a night ballot --

:11:29. > :11:34.it is a nice balance with the youth and the experience. In the past,

:11:35. > :11:40.when we have made changes against these teams, we haven't been as

:11:41. > :11:45.clinical as we would like. We would like to continue on with the things

:11:46. > :11:49.we did well last week, and for the boys to go out there and put the

:11:50. > :11:53.pressure on players who did so well against Argentinian last. One late

:11:54. > :12:01.change for Wales. Tell us about that. For a Mac we brought in Dan

:12:02. > :12:09.Lydiate for Andrew Coombs, who has been injured or week. He has failed

:12:10. > :12:15.a fitness test, unfortunately. Enjoy your 100th.

:12:16. > :12:26.Here is Warren Gatland's selection tonight.

:12:27. > :12:35.Ken Owens will be looking to make a big impact. Probably the two tallest

:12:36. > :12:42.Wales second row players we have ever put out. In the back row, not a

:12:43. > :12:58.bad replacement for Andrew Coombs and Dan Lydiate. -- in Dan Lydiate.

:12:59. > :13:02.There is Warren Gatland. Keith, you have had some ideas on selections he

:13:03. > :13:11.has made in recent weeks. What you make of that eight this evening? I

:13:12. > :13:18.think it is very impressive. Key for me is Hibbard. I would like to see

:13:19. > :13:27.war button and Hibberd play together. Warburton likes to chop

:13:28. > :13:37.guys down. It is incredible to have that level of depth in their back

:13:38. > :13:41.row. Some raw talent tonight. Jonathan Davies is part of our

:13:42. > :13:47.commentary team. What do you make of this seven at the back? I think it

:13:48. > :13:52.is the back of a strong pack. Lloyd Williams is playing pretty well for

:13:53. > :13:58.the blues. James Hook, a lot of people want to see him there. Just

:13:59. > :14:04.play your game, don't try too hard. Young Owen Williams, a lot of

:14:05. > :14:08.potential, this kid. As an done a lot of games, so match fitness will

:14:09. > :14:19.be a big test. Hal Amos comes in from the Dragons. I see George North

:14:20. > :14:23.taking the ball up this evening. For me, it is this guy. He needs to just

:14:24. > :14:31.control this game, not keep it loose, no long pass interceptions,

:14:32. > :14:35.just steady, solid, and then the flashy stuff will come later. I

:14:36. > :14:39.expect a lot from James Hook this evening. In terms of the Welsh

:14:40. > :14:43.performances over the last couple of weeks, what do you think was the key

:14:44. > :14:48.difference in the match against the pumas last week and the Springboks

:14:49. > :14:56.the week before? Support was the key thing. Support their inside and

:14:57. > :15:00.out. Against South Africa, they didn't do it, and they lost the game

:15:01. > :15:08.because they didn't score from those opportunities. One more pass, and

:15:09. > :15:13.that is a try. Ball goes wide. Scott Williams is there, and there's four

:15:14. > :15:19.tired Argentinian forward is there. He hits the break. He comes inside,

:15:20. > :15:23.and look at the support. Three on the left-hand shoulder, and two on

:15:24. > :15:28.the other touchline. He runs with the ball, he gets over the tackle

:15:29. > :15:33.again. One more pass and that is a try. So the support has been good.

:15:34. > :15:37.The kicking game has been good. Now, they just have to score tries from

:15:38. > :15:43.those opportunities. The support has improved dramatically. Talking to

:15:44. > :15:48.some people last night about who is the most exciting player in northern

:15:49. > :15:53.hemisphere rug play -- rugby at the moment, and George North is a real

:15:54. > :15:59.contender. People forget that he is still young, 22, and learning his

:16:00. > :16:06.trade. He finds the ball in open play. There is nothing more exciting

:16:07. > :16:15.than 50 or 60 minutes for a guy with pace. We saw how dangerous he could

:16:16. > :16:21.be last week. He has pace, and his chassis is

:16:22. > :16:25.huge. It cost for him, going to Northampton, they chide to find his

:16:26. > :16:32.feet, and he is beginning to come up again. He has already done so much,

:16:33. > :16:37.he is the guy to hang their hat on. The list for the players of the year

:16:38. > :16:42.was announced half an hour before we went on air, Leigh Halfpenny is on

:16:43. > :16:46.it. George North is not. For the players who are making their debuts,

:16:47. > :16:53.it is a monumental occasion, but it is almost bigger for Logan James,

:16:54. > :16:59.who has cerebral palsy, and is the Welsh team mascot. His parents

:17:00. > :17:02.filmed the moment when his mother told him he would be the Welsh

:17:03. > :17:07.mascot and it and walk out alongside his hero, Leigh Halfpenny. His

:17:08. > :17:12.reaction has become an Internet sensation.

:17:13. > :17:30.Would you be prepared to run on the field for the Welsh team? Yes! Yes!

:17:31. > :17:43.Yes! Yes! I will! It is not me that has done it!

:17:44. > :17:49.How lovely! Not a dry eye in the house. There he is, and

:17:50. > :17:55.unforgettable line for him and his friends and family. To the

:17:56. > :18:01.opposition, Tonga, they are a nation with a rich would be heritage.

:18:02. > :18:08.They gave the rugby world its most famous ever player. And its gifts to

:18:09. > :18:13.the northern hemisphere have been generous as well, Toby Faletau now

:18:14. > :18:18.was born in the South Pacific but moved here as a child after his

:18:19. > :18:24.father was headhunted by Ebbw Vale. They saw him play for Tonga while on

:18:25. > :18:28.tour, and they were impressed. He fell in love with his adopted

:18:29. > :18:34.country and put the inside family over. He was soon joined in the

:18:35. > :18:40.valleys by their relatives. Toby and his cousins played junior rugby for

:18:41. > :18:47.Wales. In their teens, they switched allegiance to England. For Toby,

:18:48. > :18:51.though, it was only ever about the three feathers. The Tongan team

:18:52. > :18:56.arrived this week fresh from the physical bust up with the French.

:18:57. > :19:00.Two thirds of them play in France or England, so they are more than

:19:01. > :19:05.familiar with northern hemisphere styles and conditions, and they

:19:06. > :19:14.fancy their chances of an upset. But beat is the number-1 here, so there

:19:15. > :19:22.are a lot of injuries, it could be a good opportunity for us to sneak in

:19:23. > :19:29.and win. This is the big moment for players, not to -- not individuals,

:19:30. > :19:36.but the team. It is the moment you live for. It is not often you get to

:19:37. > :19:40.live -- you get to play in a great stadium with great players. It is

:19:41. > :19:47.all about pride and passion, but going out to win. We have always

:19:48. > :19:53.played PlayStation games like the millennium Stadium, you dream of

:19:54. > :20:01.playing in a stadium like this, it is a massive occasion.

:20:02. > :20:07.The point made clearly, what a huge occasion it is for these guys

:20:08. > :20:10.wearing Tonga jerseys. The players that could have been playing for

:20:11. > :20:16.them but have chosen to play elsewhere, Toby Faletau up in the

:20:17. > :20:22.stadium, and one of the great things about them now, for once, the IRB

:20:23. > :20:25.has said, clubs have got to release their players on international

:20:26. > :20:29.occasions, so they can pick from the best players available.

:20:30. > :20:37.They come from far and wide, Australia, New Zealand, Japan,

:20:38. > :20:47.France, England, and Elvis is in the house to night, Elvis Taione. Yes,

:20:48. > :20:55.the last thing you want is second or third rate players, it is all about

:20:56. > :20:59.the national team. Talking about full strength, have we mentioned how

:21:00. > :21:10.big they are? They have got a guy on the bench, uptight follower, 140

:21:11. > :21:15.kilograms. Colossal. They are big, but also quick, this try against

:21:16. > :21:25.Scotland, a winning score. Last week, against France, for an hour,

:21:26. > :21:29.that game was in the balance. They frightened the French are a lot more

:21:30. > :21:34.than you might have imagined. We have heard from Warren Gatland, it

:21:35. > :21:37.is worth mentioning there were a feudalistic of last week, but let's

:21:38. > :21:47.hear from the Tongan coach. Welcome to Wales and the Millennium

:21:48. > :21:50.Stadium. You and Warren Gatland have got previous history, playing

:21:51. > :21:54.against each other, how are you looking forward to pitting your wits

:21:55. > :22:02.as a coach? He is somebody I look up to. Coming up against him for the

:22:03. > :22:08.first time, it is an honour. How will you play tonight? We have got

:22:09. > :22:15.to look after our discipline. We have played well so far, but our

:22:16. > :22:18.discipline has led us astray a bit. A couple of barbed comments coming

:22:19. > :22:22.from the Welsh camp about your discipline, especially tackling.

:22:23. > :22:28.Will that have any effect on the way you play? We call it a dominant

:22:29. > :22:35.tackle, that is what they are referring to. It has been something

:22:36. > :22:40.to focus on. Enjoy your first visit to the Millennium Stadium.

:22:41. > :22:49.It is a big night for their captain, you played against him. Yes, in 2005

:22:50. > :22:53.in New Zealand. He will be the heartbeat of the team, he is

:22:54. > :22:58.physical and uncompromising, and Justin Tipuric will know that he has

:22:59. > :23:01.been in a game. It is an international fixture, but what you

:23:02. > :23:04.cannot do is take a step backwards against a side that will be as

:23:05. > :23:11.physical as this. One of the great things, they have a huge sense of

:23:12. > :23:17.family, it is the cornerstone of their society, they will back each

:23:18. > :23:19.other to the help, they will want to hold their discipline into police

:23:20. > :23:24.play, but when they have an opportunity, they will attack. But

:23:25. > :23:30.it is in the hit where they will try to shake up Wales. Is an open and

:23:31. > :23:38.loose game and invitation for Tonga to surprise you? Definitely. They

:23:39. > :23:42.want to squeeze out the scrums, they do not want a loose and open game,

:23:43. > :23:48.because we have, second-best against them before. You want a slower paced

:23:49. > :23:51.game than Wales would normally want against Pacific Islanders are. You

:23:52. > :24:00.can hear the noise building, we have had the choirs. But now, it is

:24:01. > :24:04.everybody singing to welcome the Welsh team for the third of these

:24:05. > :24:08.autumn internationals. A phenomenal atmosphere and a couple of weeks ago

:24:09. > :24:14.for the match against South Africa, and Wales came off second best, but

:24:15. > :24:19.it was a much performed -- a much improved performance when they put

:24:20. > :24:27.40 points on Argentina. Friday night is what Wales do not want to be, a

:24:28. > :24:34.Friday night fright night, they are looking to avoid an upset. But Tonga

:24:35. > :24:39.beat Scotland last year, and France in the World Cup. This is a team

:24:40. > :24:45.that you cannot take lightly. There is Ryan Jones, the Welsh captain.

:24:46. > :24:50.And here is the reception for the Welsh team on this Friday night at

:24:51. > :24:52.the millennium Stadium. The third weekend for Wales of the autumn

:24:53. > :25:59.internationals, 2013. unforgettable moment for him and his

:26:00. > :26:04.family. As the teams line up for the anthems, enjoy your Friday night

:26:05. > :26:09.here with us in Cardiff. After which, it will be Jonathan Davies

:26:10. > :26:23.and Eddie Butler as your commentary team.

:26:24. > :26:29.# 'E 'otua mafimafi. # Ko homau 'eiki koe.

:26:30. > :26:41.# Ko koe ko e falala'anga. # Mo e 'ofa ki Tonga.

:26:42. > :26:54.# 'Afio hifo 'emau lotu. # 'Aia 'oku mau fai ni.

:26:55. > :27:18.# Mo ke tali homau loto. # 'O malu'i 'a Tupou.

:27:19. > :27:29.# Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi.

:27:30. > :27:40.# Gwlad beirdd a chantorion, enwogion o fri.

:27:41. > :27:59.# Ei gwrol ryfelwyr, gwladgarwyr tra mad.

:28:00. > :28:12.# Dros ryddid gollasant eu gwaed. # Gwlad, gwlad.

:28:13. > :28:21.# Pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad. # Tra mor yn fur i'r bur hoff bau.

:28:22. > :29:00.# O bydded i'r hen iaith barhau #. A rousing reception from the home

:29:01. > :29:03.crowd for Wales. This is what the visitors say to Wales. If you think

:29:04. > :29:16.this is a gentle invitation to have a runaround, the Sipi Tau, forget

:29:17. > :29:23.it! Interestingly, as Tonga form their huddle before they lay down

:29:24. > :29:28.their challenge, Wales have gone to the far end of the field, and are

:29:29. > :29:34.going through some routines. Good evening, Jonathan. They are slowly

:29:35. > :29:47.making their way up to the halfway line to face the Tongans. Wales take

:29:48. > :29:56.their positions in line wearing grey. Tonga, who normally play in

:29:57. > :30:07.red, are in white. The only red insight is the hair of Taniela Moa,

:30:08. > :30:11.Tonga's scrum half. Nili Latu the captain. He was superb against

:30:12. > :31:12.France. Dan Lydiate is a late replacement in

:31:13. > :31:16.the back row for Wales. Andrew Coombs has succumbed to his bad

:31:17. > :31:22.back. Ryan Jones is back at number eight, and back with the captaincy.

:31:23. > :31:27.Behind the scrum, a first cap for Amos. Just 19 years old, he makes

:31:28. > :31:34.George North looked like a senior citizen! Tonga come here having

:31:35. > :31:39.pushed France if not close, then to the limit, in terms of energy

:31:40. > :31:49.expended. They were brilliant at times behind the scrum. Vainikolo

:31:50. > :31:57.and hell you will -- and Helu will run and bash all night. Keep an eye

:31:58. > :32:02.on Jordan Williams, if he comes on. Very promising for Wales. A first

:32:03. > :32:13.for Mike Fraser here in Cardiff. His second test. He did Georgia, USA.

:32:14. > :32:18.This could be tastier. James Hook, back wearing number ten for Wales.

:32:19. > :32:28.He starts the fact -- the third game of the autumn series.

:32:29. > :32:37.Not a great start, was it? Slipped when he took the ball. Wales

:32:38. > :32:43.couldn't ask for a better start. A scrum. I think they will want to put

:32:44. > :32:45.a marker down here, keep it tight. This was where France had a clear

:32:46. > :33:03.edge last week. Lloyd Williams doesn't have to feed

:33:04. > :33:12.the scrum. Rhodri Jones wears number three. I

:33:13. > :33:38.think possession was stolen there. A first touch for Amos, and the

:33:39. > :33:59.first yards made by the teenager. A penalty to Tonga. I think he went

:34:00. > :34:06.in there, and he got his hands on the ball. Not a great ball for Lloyd

:34:07. > :34:18.Williams. They had to go and dig in and get it. The Tongan defenders got

:34:19. > :34:29.to him. This is Fosita. He plays the Northland in New Zealand. It is 46

:34:30. > :34:37.years since Keith Jarrett, fresh from Monmouth School, was selected

:34:38. > :35:03.as the 19-year-old. How Amos, playing for Wales. -- Halim Amos.

:35:04. > :35:19.Not a great start for the Tongans in a set piece.

:35:20. > :35:34.Paul James is on the loose-head side. Lloyd Williams will try to

:35:35. > :35:39.feed the scrum again. The new laws have not had a great impact on

:35:40. > :35:46.sorting out the difficulties of the Rugby Union scrum. I think the

:35:47. > :35:51.referees have got to referee a bit stronger, I feel, and everyone has

:35:52. > :35:57.got to support them. If they give free kicks and yellow cards, so be

:35:58. > :36:09.it. They've just got to sort it out. This is the view from Mike Fraser.

:36:10. > :36:27.Eddie Aholelei on the Tongan front row.

:36:28. > :36:36.Two scrums, one free kick, one penalty. Hit and chase, that's what

:36:37. > :36:38.he said. Hit and hold, not chasing it. Just pushing, basically, isn't

:36:39. > :36:47.it? That was a nice kick. This is the

:36:48. > :36:59.scrum. Very tall men in Luke Charteris and

:37:00. > :37:26.Ian Evans. I think it was Lloyd Williams who

:37:27. > :37:40.put the ball down. A great charge. Lloyd Williams last up with the

:37:41. > :37:41.ball. Please advise, try or no try? The television match official is

:37:42. > :38:00.Carlo Damasco of Italy. This is the touchdown. I don't think

:38:01. > :38:12.that's down, do you? That's a great effort. It is too late now. Does he

:38:13. > :38:19.get it down here? No, I den think that's a try. -- I don't think. Very

:38:20. > :38:31.clever, Ryan Jones, through the middle. That is great play. Straight

:38:32. > :38:39.through the middle. If it just goes upwards, Ryan Jones catches it. The

:38:40. > :38:54.ball is in the air, and he is never getting that down. Held up? No try?

:38:55. > :39:07.No try. Good work by Ryan Jones, though.

:39:08. > :39:42.Justin Tipuric in the blue cap, on the side of the scrum.

:39:43. > :39:52.Well held up by Tonga. I don't think George North particularly wanted

:39:53. > :40:04.that ball. It was a proper standing start. He had no chance. Tonga did

:40:05. > :40:15.exceptionally well. Moa has put a fantastic tackling stint in the last

:40:16. > :40:24.couple of minutes. Wales have the chance to attack the Tongans scrum

:40:25. > :40:37.close to the visitors' goal-line. Ken Owens will be helping Paul James

:40:38. > :40:43.on the side by the referee. Sila Puafisi will be feeling the full

:40:44. > :40:51.weight. It is a big test for the Tongan forwards. Second rows, locker

:40:52. > :41:18.IIe and Tu'ineau. -- Lokotui. Tonga, thanks to their barging

:41:19. > :41:32.centre, missed a penalty and can clear the line.

:41:33. > :41:45.That was a great drive. He's not going anywhere, is he? Just one

:41:46. > :41:56.direction, straight for James Hook. Gets over the gain-line. He plays

:41:57. > :42:22.his rugby in France. His team were promoted this season.

:42:23. > :42:29.Luke Charteris did his best to hold the Tongans up, and he did well.

:42:30. > :42:36.Eight minutes gone, and it is really scrappy at the moment. There's no

:42:37. > :42:43.pattern developing. It is literally the armrest so. It is all about who

:42:44. > :42:56.gets the better grip. Wales, on this occasion. I think, very early, you

:42:57. > :43:03.can see there's no real Tongan defensive players in the rucks. They

:43:04. > :43:09.are all spread. Adam Jones watching the game. When asked if you was

:43:10. > :43:16.going to France he said, I'm too old! No one is interested in me! I

:43:17. > :43:33.think they are, Adam. There is an inviting side on the far

:43:34. > :43:56.area of the field. Lloyd Williams had a look at that.

:43:57. > :44:06.Great angle by Owain Williams, but what a tackle! Ma'afu just got to

:44:07. > :44:08.him. Straightaway, from the first run, I think it was from Ryan

:44:09. > :44:24.Jones. It is a good run by Ryan Jones, but

:44:25. > :44:33.Luke Charteris just got in the way of the stand-off, an overlap from

:44:34. > :44:45.the very quick ball. He has had a very good start to the game.

:44:46. > :45:17.We are both going in. Have patience, wait for the call. Bring it up.

:45:18. > :45:32.We could be here for some time. All of those new instructions and

:45:33. > :45:37.protocols, the scrum is still a horrible part of the game. Just

:45:38. > :46:20.yellow card them get it going. Penalty against Tonga. Number three.

:46:21. > :46:29.Leigh Halfpenny steps forward. Is this in range? Going for the

:46:30. > :46:38.corner? It is in range, but Wales have gone there.

:46:39. > :46:43.He wanted more links, James Hook. You should be looking for the five

:46:44. > :47:14.metre line. An excellent tackle by the Tongan

:47:15. > :47:20.centre pairing. Wales get the penalty. They created the overlap on

:47:21. > :47:23.the outside. James Hook threw the ball to Owen Williams. Leigh

:47:24. > :47:37.Halfpenny was there. Altogether easier for Leigh

:47:38. > :48:12.Halfpenny. First points available for Leigh

:48:13. > :50:02.Halfpenny. Owen Williams scores for Wales. That

:50:03. > :50:13.is a great try. James Hook got absolutely smashed.

:50:14. > :50:36.We want to review the potential late hit by a white player. It is a

:50:37. > :50:42.definite late hit. I will have a look. James Hook ran straight to

:50:43. > :50:54.number six, and got absolutely levelled. We spoke before the game,

:50:55. > :51:05.keep your elbow up, so he cops one on the top of the head. Mike Fraser

:51:06. > :51:14.has asked for a review. The choice towns, whatever happens. What's

:51:15. > :51:18.James Hook taken late? Yes. It is not the view of the TM Odette. I am

:51:19. > :51:58.telling you, I have seen it. No use of the arms, as well. Is that

:51:59. > :52:16.a yellow card? I think it is. Just watch. It is late. They talked about

:52:17. > :52:33.dominant tackles, but that is plain late.

:52:34. > :52:42.Have we had a decision? I am not sure. I do not think he has given

:52:43. > :53:08.anything. A great kick. The conversion is

:53:09. > :53:18.good. The tackle was good, according to Carlo Damasco, no further

:53:19. > :53:22.sanction against the Tongan. That is all James Hook has got to do, take

:53:23. > :53:27.that man out, then there is the overlap. He straightens up, then

:53:28. > :53:32.watch, a lovely break by Leigh Halfpenny, and a great finish,

:53:33. > :53:34.fantastic. It is all about straightening up and using the

:53:35. > :53:58.numbers. It is not often that Tonga kick the

:53:59. > :54:17.ball. Penalty, advantage was being played.

:54:18. > :54:25.Lloyd Williams penalised. I think it was obstruction. It is only his

:54:26. > :55:59.second test match. They are committing a lot of men to

:56:00. > :56:36.the ruck. They have to keep driving forward. A game, Paul James.

:56:37. > :56:48.Just the scrum. It is a brilliant tackle. Ken Owens and Rhodri Jones.

:56:49. > :57:02.A good defensive stint, the Tongans kept on coming.

:57:03. > :57:11.Richard Hibbard has set a new standing from the hooker position.

:57:12. > :57:23.Ken Owens trying to chase him down hard. If we run it on here, just

:57:24. > :57:30.watch. Instead of giving it to the sky, he should have gone out wide to

:57:31. > :57:47.Leigh Halfpenny, and he was clear. Plenty of room on either side of the

:57:48. > :57:57.scrum for Tonga to attack, if they can survive the scrummage.

:57:58. > :58:01.Taniela Moa went in the sin bin against France for a little use of

:58:02. > :58:12.the elbow. I am happy with the distance, let's

:58:13. > :58:52.go. That was good defence by the Welsh.

:58:53. > :59:04.They quick ball, they help their ground.

:59:05. > :59:20.Good play. Contact without the ball? Yes, maybe slightly. He might say

:59:21. > :59:21.that. Doesn't have to shift his ground just because of the Tongans

:59:22. > :59:50.coming his way. Helu has done it again. Knocks on.

:59:51. > :59:53.He's not having a great couple of minutes, is he? That is an easy

:59:54. > :00:07.takes, isn't it? 23 minutes gone, and it is very

:00:08. > :00:13.flat. There's no pattern. No one is dominating. The scrums are very

:00:14. > :00:20.slow. I think they've got to just pick the tempo up a little bit, have

:00:21. > :00:24.a bit of urgency. It would help if they could get the ball away quickly

:00:25. > :00:44.from the scrums. How long is this scrum taking?

:00:45. > :01:20.James Hook is very dangerous in open play.

:01:21. > :01:28.Great finish for Ashley Beck! They will review it, but that should be

:01:29. > :01:40.an outstanding try. I just want to check the touchline

:01:41. > :01:52.here, please, and advise try or no try.

:01:53. > :02:01.Great feet, wasn't it? Lets see if it is in touch. There is only one

:02:02. > :02:08.man in the corner, the assistant refs. That is a brilliant finish. In

:02:09. > :02:17.and out, stands him up. That is a great try. Outstanding. An

:02:18. > :02:25.outstanding finish by Ashley Beck. You may award the try. Was that a

:02:26. > :02:32.bit more urgency? A try apiece for the Welsh centres. This was the

:02:33. > :02:38.initial break. He comes onto the line, pulls him on to him, Ashley

:02:39. > :02:42.Beck, and then just freeze him through the hole. Very good play by

:02:43. > :02:47.George North, doesn't panic, holds onto the ball. A lovely pass by

:02:48. > :03:02.James Hook. This is all about the finish. Bang, bang, in and out.

:03:03. > :03:22.Fantastic finish. Taione couldn't quite make the tackle.

:03:23. > :03:34.He keeps on doing it, no matter where he is on the field. Leigh

:03:35. > :03:38.Halfpenny, straight and true. It is a great inside ball. Ashley Beck

:03:39. > :03:48.involved right at the start with an inside flick to George North. Just

:03:49. > :03:49.watch this. Bang, bang, in and out. Great finish, good balance.

:03:50. > :04:11.Tremendous finish. A slight change. Dan Lydiate in the

:04:12. > :04:17.22. They are very slow in shuffling, the Tongans, defensively.

:04:18. > :04:33.This is the regular pattern, James Hook down the middle.

:04:34. > :04:44.Good play by the Tongans. How did that ball get into the touch, the

:04:45. > :04:54.referee might be asking? Legally. Just watch this break. Just watch,

:04:55. > :05:01.this guy, charging onto the line, which allows the hole for the

:05:02. > :05:06.forward. That is great play. That is when the initial break was made.

:05:07. > :05:07.They pulled someone out of the line. There was a forward their too slow

:05:08. > :05:30.to cover the whole. Great break. I think the young backs have played

:05:31. > :05:32.very well so far. Not much room on that line side. Tonga have the

:05:33. > :05:54.throw. Attention to Hemani Paea. She looks

:05:55. > :06:18.happy! They are not going to get much ball

:06:19. > :06:28.from the set piece, are they? Wherever they are, they've got to

:06:29. > :06:32.secure possession. Skipper, I will not reward you for numbers if you

:06:33. > :07:46.are going to be that late to form up. You've got to be quicker.

:07:47. > :08:15.Good runs by the -- book run by the Tongans.

:08:16. > :08:23.There was no real reason to drop the ball. They have just made some very

:08:24. > :08:31.simple handling errors. Just slightly behind him, maybe.

:08:32. > :08:39.I think Wales will be happy. There is not much flow or pattern to the

:08:40. > :08:45.game, but Wales have been very, very clinical. Two opportunities, two

:08:46. > :08:55.tries. With ten minutes to go, I think they will be quite happy. Toby

:08:56. > :08:56.Faletau how. A little bit of him will be supporting the old country.

:08:57. > :10:04.Not much. He's probably on a bonus! There's a lot of Luke Charteris to

:10:05. > :10:09.get into a ruck, so if you gets his angle wrong to begin with, and he is

:10:10. > :10:15.trying to drag somebody out sideways... The defence for the tall

:10:16. > :10:27.man of the game! He is one of the tallest.

:10:28. > :10:32.Tonga have gone long at the line-out, and it has been a

:10:33. > :11:11.struggle. A great build-up from the set piece.

:11:12. > :11:16.Clinical finish. They are back in the game. That is what they can do.

:11:17. > :11:27.Given the opportunity, they are great broken field runners.

:11:28. > :11:34.Will Helu for Tonga. He has dropped the ball couple of times, but that's

:11:35. > :11:37.made up for it! That's a great off-load, isn't it? Fantastic

:11:38. > :11:55.off-load. What an angle that was. Viliami

:11:56. > :12:51.Ma'afu to Will Helu. Conversion by Latiume Fosita.

:12:52. > :12:57.Not quite right there for Wales again. The ball was overthrown at

:12:58. > :13:06.the line-out, and from that moment, everything was out of sync. The ball

:13:07. > :13:09.comes across here. Run it on. They've got plenty of numbers there,

:13:10. > :13:15.but just watch the angle of this guy there. Run on. He goes in, and the

:13:16. > :13:35.angle beats them all. This is Hallam Amos. He is receiving

:13:36. > :13:40.attention. Here is an interesting one. Gareth Jenkins, former Welsh

:13:41. > :13:48.coach, currently in charge of development at the unearthly

:13:49. > :13:51.Scarlet. -- at the Scarlets. To him will go something called a

:13:52. > :14:00.presidential cap, harking back to the days when caps were not awarded

:14:01. > :14:05.to players. Josh Lucie there as well. World Cup winner with England.

:14:06. > :14:10.It is a nice little gesture to players who played international

:14:11. > :14:12.rugby and didn't win a cap. They give caps away willy-nilly

:14:13. > :14:32.nowadays! They deserved a cap. To get 30 caps for Tonga is a

:14:33. > :14:38.lifetime's career. Wales are up there in the hundreds for Gethin

:14:39. > :14:58.Jenkins. Tonga simply do not play as much international rugby.

:14:59. > :15:08.Amos try to stay away from the touchline. Helu pushed him over it.

:15:09. > :15:24.Amos needs to run with a bit more conviction.

:15:25. > :16:14.A knock-on by Moa. Little bit too slow. He can moan as much as he

:16:15. > :16:29.wants, you have got to get that away. I think Moa has put himself

:16:30. > :16:35.about, hasn't he? Lloyd Williams checks the whereabouts of the Welsh

:16:36. > :16:53.three quarters line. Hallam Amos is underneath us.

:16:54. > :17:10.Bad ball. Set piece is a little bit untidy. Wales have got to pick the

:17:11. > :17:12.pace up now. They have got to commit the Tongan forwards into making some

:17:13. > :17:50.tackles. Ken Owens twisted and turned away

:17:51. > :18:35.from Latu. They have got to go straight first.

:18:36. > :18:40.They are going to lateral. Rhodri Jones a little bit too deep. They

:18:41. > :18:50.have good defensive line speed. That is a penalty. He is just isolated.

:18:51. > :18:56.Holding on. Look how deep he is. They have sprinted up the defensive

:18:57. > :19:03.line speed. He is isolated. His own players have got to go back round

:19:04. > :19:10.the gain line to get to him. The clock has gone red. The players will

:19:11. > :19:23.follow the ball towards the tunnel. Wales are in the lead 17-7. They

:19:24. > :19:29.have got to pick the tempo up. They have got to commit some of the

:19:30. > :19:35.Tongan forwards then go wide. They will go for the big hits, they have

:19:36. > :19:36.a condensed defence. Wales need to play more aggressively and more

:19:37. > :19:50.direct before going wide. It has been an interesting 40

:19:51. > :19:58.minutes. Leigh Halfpenny the first on the scoreboard. The first try

:19:59. > :20:04.came from Williams. He outsprinted the Tongan defence. Then the second

:20:05. > :20:12.try, Ashley Beck's footwork was tremendous. But the Tongans have not

:20:13. > :20:28.given up, and Helu, narrowed the margin so at half-time it is 17 -

:20:29. > :20:32.seven. 54%, 46%. The Tongans have basically had half of the game, but

:20:33. > :20:43.they have made some errors. Wales deservedly in front. But perhaps a

:20:44. > :20:49.narrower margin, Martin? They will be relatively happy. They will be

:20:50. > :20:53.fitter than the Tongan side in the second half. There won't be too

:20:54. > :21:00.disappointed. You said, getting the first try was important, talk us

:21:01. > :21:06.through that? It started a bit slow before that. But from deep inside

:21:07. > :21:14.their own half. James Hook attacking the line. Williams, he held it, held

:21:15. > :21:25.it. I wondered if they would be enough depth. It is a lovely finish.

:21:26. > :21:31.He ran heads up the whole way. We saw it later on when George North

:21:32. > :21:37.got the opportunity. It was a very mature looking try. The Welsh back

:21:38. > :21:51.division is an interesting mix of the very seasons professionals of

:21:52. > :22:00.Leigh Halfpenny and North also some raw talent? The second try was all

:22:01. > :22:19.about Ashley Beck. He knows he is going to get hit, so this is brave.

:22:20. > :22:28.They recycle the ball. A great ball by James Hook. That sets it up, that

:22:29. > :22:36.inside ball. How often do you see a window getting a touch five yards

:22:37. > :22:42.from the line. A step in and out on a sixpence in the corner. You could

:22:43. > :22:48.not see it with the naked eye, you had to see the TMO. The Welsh

:22:49. > :22:53.defence, especially the guys who are raw when it comes to international,

:22:54. > :22:57.a lot of physical tackling that has to be made and if you don't hit the

:22:58. > :23:03.Tongans early, they can run through you? They have gone very direct and

:23:04. > :23:12.very narrow. This is a fantastic line. Helu made a great line. He

:23:13. > :23:18.picked that line from 15 yards before he picked up the ball. If

:23:19. > :23:24.kids are watching, hold your depth, you can see everything. It is the

:23:25. > :23:29.first line-out the Tongans have won all game. It shows how dangerous

:23:30. > :23:37.they are if they win the set piece. James Hook, the Number ten jersey is

:23:38. > :23:43.a debate at the moment. What has James Hook done to advance his

:23:44. > :23:47.cause? He has played well. The more open the game is, the more broken

:23:48. > :23:58.operators, that is when James Hook comes into his own. He has fantastic

:23:59. > :24:12.footwork. We are so lucky in Wales at the moment we have three

:24:13. > :24:18.fantastic Number ten 's. Dan Biggar is a more structured outside half.

:24:19. > :24:25.Defensively very solid. It is a big decision next week. James Hook goes

:24:26. > :24:35.back to France. At some point next week, we were talking about scrums.

:24:36. > :24:45.A lot of players are frustrated. But the scrums are taking an eternity

:24:46. > :24:50.tonight. You have to get into the scrum. You have to get ready early,

:24:51. > :24:59.make the call quickly. You have to get the scrum-half to put it in. I

:25:00. > :25:03.love scrummaging. But not wasting 60 seconds to set the scrum in the

:25:04. > :25:09.first place. It kills the momentum of the game? They got it right at

:25:10. > :25:13.the start. I do like the law changes, it makes sense. As the

:25:14. > :25:20.players have got used to it, they are testing each other as to exactly

:25:21. > :25:25.what it is happening. It is horrible to watch. Let's talk about rug the

:25:26. > :25:29.in general, but this weekend is a huge weekend for both codes of the

:25:30. > :25:51.sport. -- rugby.

:25:52. > :26:00.After that match, there is the second semifinal which is between

:26:01. > :26:08.Australia and Fiji. That is at 3pm and you can follow that on BBC Radio

:26:09. > :26:14.five live will stop and on Sunday, highlights both semifinals on at

:26:15. > :26:20.4pm. International is all the way on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There

:26:21. > :26:27.is a Friday night game in the RBS Six Nations next spring. That is a

:26:28. > :26:33.date for your diary. We will talk more about what is happening in the

:26:34. > :26:39.world of rugby at the moment. November the 22nd is a huge day for

:26:40. > :26:45.English rug B. 1972, the North West counties beat the All Blacks.

:26:46. > :26:49.English rugby runs the risk of being marginalised after what happened in

:26:50. > :26:53.Dublin, the meeting that took lace involving the five European nations

:26:54. > :26:59.who did not effectively invite the RFU to the discussion. As a

:27:00. > :27:04.consequence, the English teams could be out of the Heineken cup next

:27:05. > :27:13.year? They could be. We are seeing a huge amount of bluster and a lot of

:27:14. > :27:16.rubbish being spoken. I still see it from looking from afar, there will

:27:17. > :27:26.be a compromise and there probably will be legal action. The fact of

:27:27. > :27:29.the RFU not being invited, some of the other countries, their teams

:27:30. > :27:38.will play in the championship, or so they say. A lot is up in the air.

:27:39. > :27:44.But the ultimate case of brinkmanship, I am not sure. We are

:27:45. > :27:49.losing all of our best players as it is. Regions are not in a position to

:27:50. > :27:55.offer contracts because they are not sure of the financial situation next

:27:56. > :28:00.year. If a compromise is not reached soon, the Welsh regions could be in

:28:01. > :28:06.a dark place. What is the worst case scenario? Are we on the point of

:28:07. > :28:15.having something that could split the game? I don't know if it is that

:28:16. > :28:19.black and White. I don't know if it is the unions against the clubs

:28:20. > :28:26.across the board. I think it could put huge pressure on some other

:28:27. > :28:31.countries. Scotland and Wales, not in turning up to the matches to make

:28:32. > :28:35.it financially viable. It is dependent on the money coming from

:28:36. > :28:41.television. Any other countries, it is a commercial reality. But it is a

:28:42. > :28:46.huge panic level to the doubts, it puts doubt into the minds of the

:28:47. > :28:52.commercial sponsors. Do they want to be involved? What are they

:28:53. > :28:56.sponsoring? Do they want to be associated with a breakaway which

:28:57. > :29:01.only has a third of the teams? The last thing I want to see next year

:29:02. > :29:11.is two competitions. It's some clubs break away, it would be a disaster.

:29:12. > :29:21.The product as it is is fantastic. I agree with automatic qualification.

:29:22. > :29:28.Who is the peace broker here? Up to yesterday, I would have said Ian

:29:29. > :29:34.itchy of the RFU. He has been calm. But if he has been pushed out of the

:29:35. > :29:39.system... That is to be continued. Meanwhile, this is what you have got

:29:40. > :29:54.to look forward to over the next 48 hours.

:29:55. > :30:03.There is confirmation of what we've got for you tomorrow. If you are

:30:04. > :30:04.going to the game at Murrayfield, wrap up warm. It is freezing at the

:30:05. > :30:20.moment. It has been a very interesting lot

:30:21. > :30:27.of Autumn Internationals. What do Wales do now? I think they are one

:30:28. > :30:35.pass away from breaking the line. They are getting turned over a

:30:36. > :30:39.little bit more. Nili Latu, even the scrum-halves of been in there. Wales

:30:40. > :30:47.just need to keep the ball a little bit more. There are various ways to

:30:48. > :30:51.contact us. The first 40 minutes, lots of physicality. And some great

:30:52. > :30:55.bits of individual skill. That was a fantastic try. And some great

:30:56. > :31:03.kicking from Leigh Halfpenny, which is kind of standard. The Tongans

:31:04. > :31:08.always talk about being a band of brothers there. Culturally united.

:31:09. > :31:11.And for all the young players playing for Wales for the first

:31:12. > :31:17.time, and for their season campaign as well. Building up to the last

:31:18. > :31:23.game of these Autumn Internationals against Australia next Saturday.

:31:24. > :31:23.That's go back to our commentary team.

:31:24. > :32:14.No changes in the ranks - yet. The direction of the goods have

:32:15. > :32:16.favoured is straight down the middle. The Chase has got to be good

:32:17. > :32:32.then. That looked like a rip by hook. --

:32:33. > :33:07.Hook. Tonga are man short. I think one of

:33:08. > :33:14.the forward has dislocated their finger or something. Tonga are down

:33:15. > :33:24.to 14 at the moment, and they survive with just 14. There is a man

:33:25. > :33:35.on the near touchline. Do we need time off? I don't know what has

:33:36. > :33:43.happened. His wrist. Ma'afu. Ripped by James Hook. That was a good

:33:44. > :33:51.steel. Rhodri Jones was in the stand-off position. That ball had to

:33:52. > :33:59.go. Have we got a sub lined up for number eight? That is more than a

:34:00. > :34:17.dislocated finger. That looks more wrist and forearm.

:34:18. > :34:30.Opeti Fonua, who plays down in Mike Phillips' country.

:34:31. > :34:44.The years. -- there hears. A good finish for Owen Williams. You expect

:34:45. > :34:56.a lot from this kid in the Cardiff Blues. That is a great finish from

:34:57. > :34:59.Ashley Beck. This is a big scrum now for Tonga. A fantastic opportunity

:35:00. > :35:44.for Wales. Fonua did exceptionally well there,

:35:45. > :35:58.because the scrum was under pressure. Wales can apply pressure

:35:59. > :36:00.on the Tongans throw here. There was a little wriggle from Dan Lydiate at

:36:01. > :36:23.the bottom of the ruck. Another one who plies his trade in

:36:24. > :36:46.France, Moa. Justin Tipuric is not the heaviest

:36:47. > :36:47.of the yard makers. They are just getting at the scrum-half, aren't

:36:48. > :37:04.they? Stopping the flow of the ball. Lilo caught it but couldn't make the

:37:05. > :38:23.mark. An interesting decision. Got to go

:38:24. > :38:26.to corner, hasn't he? This is definitely in halfpenny's range, or

:38:27. > :38:50.even Hook's range as well. Siale Piutau, whose brother plays

:38:51. > :38:55.for the All Blacks. Justin Tipuric will be interested in what happens

:38:56. > :39:02.now. It is important for Wales to score first. If the Tongans score

:39:03. > :39:06.first, their tails will be up. The Tongans beat France at the last

:39:07. > :39:42.World Cup. They have beaten Scotland recently, last season.

:39:43. > :39:55.I think someone has been sparked out here. And Hallam Amos. Has he scored

:39:56. > :40:02.on his first game for Wales? If that is a try, that is a great finish. It

:40:03. > :40:08.is a lovely ball by Halfpenny, and a tremendous finish by Hallam Amos.

:40:09. > :40:21.From his reaction, I think he thinks he has scored. Might they check the

:40:22. > :40:24.pass for a forward pass to him? No. Foot in touch, unfortunately. I

:40:25. > :40:32.think he's dragging foot is in touch.

:40:33. > :40:40.I think he has got to look at the angle of the other one. I think he

:40:41. > :40:46.is in touch. Very unlucky for Hallam Amos. There is in a metre of

:40:47. > :40:56.daylight between his heel... I think that is in touch.

:40:57. > :41:10.You never know. We have seen some dodgy decisions in the past! Let's

:41:11. > :41:16.see if we have a dodgy one today! The decision - foot in touch,

:41:17. > :41:26.line-out white. No dreams for Hallam Amos! In touch. Serious injury over

:41:27. > :41:34.here. While that has been going on, we will go back to this injury.

:41:35. > :41:45.Just watch this now. He goes in, a clash of heads. Then he hits his

:41:46. > :41:49.head on the floor. Then a hand goes in his face. He is knocked out as

:41:50. > :41:52.soon as there is a clash of heads. Fair play to Tipuric. He knew

:41:53. > :42:02.straightaway there was an injury there, and he called the referee's

:42:03. > :42:08.attention. CNA Kalamafoni, the flanker, I think. With all the

:42:09. > :42:12.attention being on concussion and the need to monitor any banks to the

:42:13. > :42:19.head closely, this may take some time. It has been a very physical

:42:20. > :42:22.game. I think Ryan Jones has been outstanding. A good tackle

:42:23. > :42:33.alongside. Tremendous hit. I can't remember all this tackling

:42:34. > :42:41.going on when I was playing, to be honest!

:42:42. > :42:50.A great ball forward, but a great pass. A fantastic tackle. That is

:42:51. > :42:58.the reaction of Hallam Amos when told that he hadn't scored.

:42:59. > :43:08.The Welsh replacements, Jordan Williams on the far right, a very

:43:09. > :43:19.promising fullback. Samson Lee, another prospect. Ryan Bevington, he

:43:20. > :43:24.can run! It is a good sign for the injured Tongan player. He is setup.

:43:25. > :43:34.-- he is fat up. He saw straightaway that he was

:43:35. > :43:39.injured, and drew the referee's attention. Just watch. There hears.

:43:40. > :43:46.They looked after him. They turned him on his side. That's well done.

:43:47. > :43:55.That is not the most gentle way to do it, but they certainly saw he was

:43:56. > :43:59.injured and rolled him on his side. In the rough and tumble of a game of

:44:00. > :44:07.rugby, they always look out for each other. It is a very chatty place

:44:08. > :44:27.now! No score in this second half. A lot

:44:28. > :44:35.of interruptions in this game. A long stoppage now. He's got to go

:44:36. > :44:52.off, hasn't he? You would think so. For further monitoring.

:44:53. > :45:00.It is amazing the level of contact we are seeing. So many players are

:45:01. > :45:05.getting their heads on the wrong side to make the tackle. Getting

:45:06. > :45:15.their heads bashed by the leading knee. Any young rugby player

:45:16. > :45:18.watching this, remember your tackling technique is very

:45:19. > :45:24.important. Get your head on the right side. If you don't, you will

:45:25. > :45:36.get a nasty bang on the head, and we do not want to see that. Even if you

:45:37. > :45:46.are wearing a scrum. Tonga using a two replacement.

:45:47. > :45:58.Wales have got to dominate the pace of the game. Pick and drive. I think

:45:59. > :46:10.the ball has been very poor from the rucks. Just got to clear beyond the

:46:11. > :46:19.ball. Not planting the ball well. Dan Lydiate takes it up. Luke

:46:20. > :46:27.Charteris, who began this with the line-out win. Wales change the

:46:28. > :46:39.direction. Could not find Hallam Amos. So slight frustration for

:46:40. > :46:47.Wales. Create the overlap. Ashley Beck comes in. He had more time than

:46:48. > :46:58.he thought. Vainikolo came in quickly and then stood off him.

:46:59. > :47:20.Taione with the throw. I don't think presentation is very

:47:21. > :48:01.good, do you? Lloyd Williams. Leigh Halfpenny went the Long Way

:48:02. > :48:13.round and then goes to ground! No one committed to the ruck. But

:48:14. > :48:46.pass. -- good pass. Vainikolo was safely back. I still

:48:47. > :48:51.think they have got to go forward and carry the ball a bit more, they

:48:52. > :49:03.are very lateral, aren't they? Off you go.

:49:04. > :49:19.Evans making his way back over to his position. He has had a lot of

:49:20. > :49:26.trouble with his Achilles. Nastier. Bad place to hurt yourself playing

:49:27. > :49:48.rugby. I thought that was going to be a clash.

:49:49. > :50:20.Changes in the front while. Taione Vea coming on. Not on yet. And also,

:50:21. > :50:33.Samisoni Fisilau. Off goes Eddie Aholelei. Only 11 minutes gone of

:50:34. > :51:00.this second half. It feels like two weeks! We have Taione Vea as a

:51:01. > :51:13.hooker and a Taione on as a replacement. Wales with a few hits.

:51:14. > :51:32.So far, Ryan Jones has been the standout player.

:51:33. > :52:09.To veto my loud on against Rhodri Jones. -- Mailau.

:52:10. > :52:15.Positioning territory will be all Wales in the second half, but they

:52:16. > :52:32.have not done anything with the ball.

:52:33. > :52:41.Rebound, one against the head. Wales with a belated drive. New scrum-half

:52:42. > :53:35.the Tonga, this law. -- fists allow. Ken Owens finds Luke Charteris. This

:53:36. > :54:19.could go a long way. No idea where the ball is. Holding

:54:20. > :54:31.on. After all of the hard work, Tonga are awarded the penalty. You

:54:32. > :54:48.were in control, it fell apart. Wales have had all of the territory

:54:49. > :55:43.and nothing to show for it. Play on. Spilt White Taione Vea. I

:55:44. > :55:47.don't understand that tactic. If they do that against New Zealand

:55:48. > :55:52.they will be cut to ribbons, and against Australia. He is persisting

:55:53. > :56:09.with it. Paul James tries to keep Tonga off

:56:10. > :56:52.the ground. Penalty to Wales. Tap and go, let's

:56:53. > :57:00.go. They cannot hear you, Jonathan. Down towards the 22. Stay awake,

:57:01. > :57:53.stay with me. Keep nudging me. Holding on. Holding on after the

:57:54. > :58:04.tackle. Ryan Jones looks to be carrying an injury. James Hook goes

:58:05. > :58:08.for the corner. I think James Hook has got to aim for the five metre

:58:09. > :58:14.mark, hasn't he? He isn't happy with that kick. It is so much easier for

:58:15. > :58:21.the forwards to catch and drive right on the five metre line. Jonny

:58:22. > :58:25.Wilkinson is brilliant at that. Scrappy ball again and Tonga come

:58:26. > :58:32.away with it. They have knocked it on both. The Welsh players are

:58:33. > :58:43.getting frustrated. All throwing their arms in the air. They do have

:58:44. > :58:50.the put-in. The back line stretches again across the field. George

:58:51. > :59:12.North, right behind it James Hook. Right wing, behind outside.

:59:13. > :00:28.I like it close, but that is real close. Hit and hold.

:00:29. > :00:50.What an interception by Taione. The high tackle has been penalised. I

:00:51. > :00:59.think this is a high tackle. A lovely, lovely break. A high tackle,

:01:00. > :01:10.on the collar. The try scoring pass just gets intercepted. This time it

:01:11. > :01:32.is a five metre line-out. That is a good intercept as well.

:01:33. > :01:38.What an opportunity for Luke Charteris. A moment of glory. He has

:01:39. > :01:43.done exceptionally well in the second half. Just dropped it. He

:01:44. > :01:53.will know he should have scored here. The ball just gets dislodged

:01:54. > :01:59.in the tackle. Lokotui with the important arm. Just got to him,

:02:00. > :02:09.didn't he? It was a loose carry, wasn't it, by Charteris? Otherwise,

:02:10. > :02:37.he was over. Close call for Hallam Amos. Close call for Luke Charteris.

:02:38. > :02:50.That was an absolute great kick from there!

:02:51. > :03:19.A change of focus for Tonga. Taione goes off.

:03:20. > :03:28.What did for Wales last time was the fragmentation of that small.

:03:29. > :03:41.They have really, really disrupted... A Welsh penalty.

:03:42. > :03:57.Taufalele comes on and immediately gives away a penalty. Not quite as

:03:58. > :03:58.dramatic as when Oosthuizen came on and was sinned in the very first

:03:59. > :04:48.scrum! They are holding the ball up, aren't

:04:49. > :04:50.they? Good defensive work by Tonga again. Wales slipped by the

:04:51. > :05:06.defenders. -- Wales split. Have we had more scrums than usual?

:05:07. > :05:26.Each one has been a torture, I know! Less than 15 minutes to go,

:05:27. > :05:51.Jonathan. This is the captain, who has been on

:05:52. > :06:22.and worked nonstop. No score in the second half. It has

:06:23. > :06:39.been... Dire! Oh, dear. Got to keep everything

:06:40. > :07:33.going now. There's Dave Ellis, in front of Mana

:07:34. > :07:50.Otai, the Tongan coach. A bit of pushing and pulling. Plus

:07:51. > :08:38.ten metres. Cheer us up with something. Wales

:08:39. > :08:42.are changing the whole of the front row. Ryan Bevington and Samson Lee

:08:43. > :08:47.ready to come on. And it looks like Rhys Priestland is going to come in.

:08:48. > :08:55.A new front row and a new fly-half. Let's see what that can do. The men

:08:56. > :09:04.in grey. Samson Lee with the black scrum cap. Ryan Bevington with the

:09:05. > :09:18.white headband. And Emyr Phillips comes on.

:09:19. > :09:31.It should add a bit of spark to the game, a change of front row. Rhodri

:09:32. > :09:40.Williams is going to come on. He is being held back. He will not get his

:09:41. > :10:20.first cap just yet. An exciting talent he is, Rhodri Williams.

:10:21. > :10:38.Try, going to be! They will look for the block. George North scored

:10:39. > :10:50.there. Carlo, can we please check number four grey, for obstruction.

:10:51. > :11:00.Having a little look at Luke Charteris. He has run a block for

:11:01. > :11:04.George North. That is the call. We should be able to see it. It is a

:11:05. > :11:13.big block. The presentation by Ryan Jones.

:11:14. > :11:23.I don't think that is intentional, but it is a block. Do you think? Is

:11:24. > :11:32.he just part of the ruck? It is very difficult. Carlo, I am happy with

:11:33. > :11:40.that. I have number for Wales in front of the ball offside. Nili

:11:41. > :11:45.Latu, was he going to make the tackle? Key is the one who was

:11:46. > :11:54.blocked. I think the referee is going to call an offside up

:11:55. > :12:09.structure. -- offside obstruction. No try. We have had three referrals

:12:10. > :12:14.to the TMO. Lloyd Williams goes off. And on comes Rhodri Williams of the

:12:15. > :12:25.Scarlets, for his first cap. Very sharp. Ian Evans goes off as well.

:12:26. > :12:33.Alun-Wyn Jones comes on. Experience now. Alun-Wyn Jones is on too. A new

:12:34. > :13:15.cap, and Alun-Wyn Jones, who has a lot more than that.

:13:16. > :13:36.Leigh Halfpenny made ground, up to the ten metre line.

:13:37. > :13:39.Ryan Bevington. This time it is Rhodri Williams who got caught and

:13:40. > :14:04.turned over. The Tongans go beyond the forward

:14:05. > :14:07.the tackles, don't they? I think they need to take the ball closer,

:14:08. > :14:34.and they are not holding defenders at a moment.

:14:35. > :15:17.Change the Tonga. However Noah is on.

:15:18. > :16:00.Hallam Amos skips away from one tackle. His finally brought down on

:16:01. > :16:32.the 22. Penalty for the high tackle. He did

:16:33. > :16:48.not miss him did he? We will go back to the penalty.

:16:49. > :17:11.I don't think it is high, that is a good tackle.

:17:12. > :17:22.Tongan players are now being left on the ground after the tackle. They

:17:23. > :17:34.have put a big defensive stint in. Joe Tu'ineau now. I don't think that

:17:35. > :17:39.is high. It is a great hit. George North doesn't think it is because he

:17:40. > :17:46.keeps on running. What do Wales do here? Do Vicky going for the corner?

:17:47. > :17:56.Priestland is looking for his face in the crowd to aim at. -- do they

:17:57. > :18:05.keep going. You have got to try and target and hit the five metre line.

:18:06. > :18:23.46,500. They could do with something to raise their spirits.

:18:24. > :18:33.Very aggressive at the breakdown. Wales will have to settle for the

:18:34. > :18:39.scrum. They have made a mess of that Wales. They have got to go beyond

:18:40. > :18:49.the ball and clear out. They are not presenting it well. No score in this

:18:50. > :18:59.second half. It has been a long second half. Yes! Wales have this

:19:00. > :19:05.attacking opportunity. George North, as usual, is in the heart of the

:19:06. > :19:10.three quarters line. The scrum has got to be solid first and foremost.

:19:11. > :19:16.They have struggled. If anything, the Tongan scrum have caused them

:19:17. > :19:28.problems with the drive. But there is Halfpenny and Priestland. Too

:19:29. > :19:38.close, yes. Too close. Don't chase it.

:19:39. > :20:14.Great tackle by Latu. He had to make that. Wales win another penalty.

:20:15. > :20:24.Quickly taken by Rhodri Williams. Got to go wide now. Tonga do not let

:20:25. > :20:42.them. Tonga have the put-in. Jonathan, in this game, quite

:20:43. > :20:51.difficult, your man of the match? Man of the match? Right, my man of

:20:52. > :21:01.the match, Ryan Jones had a big first half, Hallam Amos had a big

:21:02. > :21:18.second half. I think for me, my man of the match is Luke Charteris.

:21:19. > :21:34.Apikotoa is on. Just because the match is bad, you don't have to give

:21:35. > :21:48.it to an unknown player, George Amos! George Amos plays golf with

:21:49. > :22:01.me. Luke Charteris, man of the match. There is such a player.

:22:02. > :22:09.Even at this late stage, we don't even get a scrum to go down now. I

:22:10. > :22:16.can't wait for the boys in the studio to make something of this

:22:17. > :22:23.game. The highlights of this second half will not take long. This is

:22:24. > :22:31.Apikotoa. Just a couple of minutes left. No injuries, that is important

:22:32. > :23:25.for Wales with Australia coming up. There he goes again, Opeti Fonua.

:23:26. > :23:35.Last chance for Wales if they can get into the corner. One last

:23:36. > :23:45.line-out. Quickly taken by what -- Rodney Williams.

:23:46. > :24:33.Suddenly Wales, through Ryan Bebington, are on the move again.

:24:34. > :24:39.Final pass goes astray. We are in the red zone. How merciful will the

:24:40. > :24:47.referee B, M Fraser? He has called the scrummage... No he hasn't, the

:24:48. > :24:54.game is over. It has been put out of its misery. Man of the match, Luke

:24:55. > :24:59.Charteris. But a scoreless second half at the Millennium Stadium. Not

:25:00. > :25:05.a great performance by Wales. Results is more important. No

:25:06. > :25:10.injuries, which is important with Australia coming up. Both countries

:25:11. > :25:16.do three matches in the autumn, Wales have one extra, Australia next

:25:17. > :25:26.Saturday. Tabs they have half a mind on that? The chance for a big scalp.

:25:27. > :25:36.Captain, Ryan Jones, has led Wales to victory. Ashley Beck, try

:25:37. > :25:42.scorer. Owen Williams, scored the other one. All the points came in

:25:43. > :25:49.the first half. So it is good night from us appear. Man of the match, no

:25:50. > :25:57.such thing as a bad when, but how frustrating was it? It was pretty

:25:58. > :26:02.ugly. Coming into this game, we knew how tough it would be. We were not

:26:03. > :26:08.clinical enough. They kept putting us under pressure. We got the win,

:26:09. > :26:16.which is nice. The things to work on. Shame about the try, want to

:26:17. > :26:24.tell the grandchildren? Never mind. Well done in getting man of the

:26:25. > :26:27.match. Thank you very much. Wales had 90% territory in the

:26:28. > :26:35.second half and did not score, which means? They will be disappointed.

:26:36. > :26:40.Credit to Tonga, their defence was outstanding. Very difficult to get a

:26:41. > :26:46.clean ball for the Welsh scrum-halves, but they will have to

:26:47. > :26:51.improve why next week. If you look at Luke Charteris' eyes, he looked

:26:52. > :26:57.wrecked. Tonga threw everything into their defence. They did not play

:26:58. > :27:02.that well, but you could absolutely see they were beaten up by the end

:27:03. > :27:09.of the game. They got out of it with no injury, which is fantastic. If

:27:10. > :27:16.there is one aspect of the game that would be their Achilles heel, what

:27:17. > :27:20.would it be? Presentation and the Tongans were very physical. The

:27:21. > :27:27.scrum-halves were getting caught with the ball in hand. They were

:27:28. > :27:32.causing a lot of problems. The one area they need to work on. I thought

:27:33. > :27:36.Wales with deep and standing taking the ball. It is hard to beat a

:27:37. > :27:44.defender because the Tongans were not pushing up on the line. Friday

:27:45. > :27:51.night in Cardiff, Saturday at Murrayfield, Sunday in Dublin for

:27:52. > :27:55.Ireland against the All Blacks. But that will be better in the second

:27:56. > :27:56.half. Thanks for watching and enjoyed the rest of your weekend.

:27:57. > :28:28.Goodbye. # I walked across an empty land.

:28:29. > :28:54.# I knew the pathway like the back of my hand.

:28:55. > :29:00.# And if you have a minute, talk about Somewhere Only We Know.
