:00:17. > :00:22.Coming up: It's cricket's World Twenty20 Final tomorrow.
:00:23. > :00:26.England are trying to win the trophy for the second time.
:00:27. > :00:29.And with a little over 100 days to go until the Rio Olympics,
:00:30. > :00:32.we catch up with a couple of British athletes with medals on their minds.
:00:33. > :00:36.But first, let's look at some of the day's sporting headlines.
:00:37. > :00:39.Former golf world number one Tiger Woods will not take part
:00:40. > :00:41.in next week's Masters because of a back injury.
:00:42. > :00:45.Woods, who's won the Masters four times, is now 40 years old and has
:00:46. > :00:47.not played competitively since August.
:00:48. > :00:49.Woods has had two operations on his back.
:00:50. > :00:52.Third practise is just getting under way in Bahrain at the second
:00:53. > :00:56.Grand Prix of the Formula One season.
:00:57. > :00:58.Mercedes dominated the first two sessions, with Nico Rosberg -
:00:59. > :01:00.who won the opening race in Australia -
:01:01. > :01:04.And this routine is being called the greatest free
:01:05. > :01:09.Javier Fernandez's performance won him the gold medal
:01:10. > :01:11.at the World Figure Skating Championships.
:01:12. > :01:20.The Spanish skater landed three quadruple jumps.
:01:21. > :01:23.Cricket's world Twenty20 finals take place tomorrow with England facing
:01:24. > :01:25.West Indies trying to claim that trophy.
:01:26. > :01:26.There's been some brilliant batting on show
:01:27. > :01:29.during the tournament and fans are hoping for more
:01:30. > :01:43.As we final, who better to have alongside
:01:44. > :01:48.me than England's Jos Buttler. What is the overriding feeling amongst
:01:49. > :01:54.the England players? To some extent are you surprised to be here? A
:01:55. > :01:58.little bit maybe, but immense excitement throughout the group, the
:01:59. > :02:03.World Cup final seemed a long way off when we were chasing 230 against
:02:04. > :02:10.South Africa in Mumbai. There's so much room for growth in this team,
:02:11. > :02:19.so to have this come so early on in the team's chef life is fantastic.
:02:20. > :02:23.-- shelf life is fantastic. The West Indies are a great collection of
:02:24. > :02:28.individuals, some outstanding t20 players. You played them once and
:02:29. > :02:32.lost to them when Chris Gayle was on fire, but they are beatable aren't
:02:33. > :02:35.they? Of course they are. Every team in the world is beatable. We would
:02:36. > :02:39.back ourselves against anyone, so with the characters in the side who
:02:40. > :02:45.want to step up on the big occasion, we've got some guys who are really
:02:46. > :02:48.looking forward to that chance. India for you, the world t20 will
:02:49. > :02:53.finish, hopefully with England as champions. Then you've got the IPL
:02:54. > :02:58.coming up, in Mumbai. Do you like it here? Do you get the passion that
:02:59. > :03:04.India has for cricket? Yes, I was just saying on the bus in with Joe
:03:05. > :03:09.Root it is like nowhere really. It is fanatical. You see some of the
:03:10. > :03:14.headlines about England cricket, England would probably have to lose
:03:15. > :03:18.the final of a World Cup football for us to get similar scenes like
:03:19. > :03:21.that in England. It is an amazing country to come to. You've got to
:03:22. > :03:25.embrace everything that's going on. To play cricket here in front of
:03:26. > :03:30.crowds, even when there's not many people in, they make a hell of a
:03:31. > :03:36.noise. It is going to be an immense experience for myself to play in the
:03:37. > :03:40.IPL. IPL. It is one I'm really looking forward to. Jos Buttler,
:03:41. > :03:44.thank you for your time. This is the final of an international tournament
:03:45. > :03:48.but in a country where cricket really matters. And there's full
:03:49. > :03:51.commentary of that match tomorrow afternoon on BBC Radio 5Live sports
:03:52. > :04:04.extra. Not to the pool. Adam Peaty led the way with three
:04:05. > :04:12.goals but it is 28 years since Great Britain had a male Olympic champion.
:04:13. > :04:25.He hopes to end that hiatus and emulate Adrian Moorhouse. Can he win
:04:26. > :04:32.the gold? I think he's going to. Yes he does! It is a world record.
:04:33. > :04:37.Peaty's got it on the last stroke! He beats the Olympic champion and
:04:38. > :04:42.the world champion is Adam Peaty of Great Britain. 2014 was my breakout
:04:43. > :04:45.year. I think this year is no different. I've worked harder than
:04:46. > :04:50.ever. What do you do with your medals? I'm proud of them, so we
:04:51. > :04:57.keep them downstairs where everyone can see them, or at my nan's, I
:04:58. > :05:04.always want more. Hopefully one day that will be an Olympic medal,
:05:05. > :05:08.maybe. It is 28 years since Britain last had a male Olympic swimming
:05:09. > :05:13.champion, Adrian Moorhouse in 1988. Peaty desperately wants to be the
:05:14. > :05:17.one to end that run. I was thinking this morning while training how long
:05:18. > :05:19.one to end that run. I was thinking has it been. ? Gold medallist and
:05:20. > :05:25.Olympic champion, Adrian Moorhouse! CHEERING. My main rivals are saying
:05:26. > :05:29.I've got all the pressure now, the World Championship titles. All the
:05:30. > :05:32.world is looking to me, but I think they are more worried about it
:05:33. > :05:38.because they are speaking about it. The world record is 26. 62. He
:05:39. > :05:43.destroyed the world record! Do you think it is going to take close to
:05:44. > :05:48.that world record in the Olympic final? Yes, just to prove a point. I
:05:49. > :05:52.want to get the best out of what I can get. Do you feel in the best
:05:53. > :05:56.condition of your life? Definitely. I'm working on areas where I've
:05:57. > :05:59.never been as good. Last year I lost maybe half a second off the start.
:06:00. > :06:04.I've done everything possible this season. I'm not playing catch-up any
:06:05. > :06:09.more. I'm a bigger athlete now. A lot more muscle and strength. If it
:06:10. > :06:14.was a formula, it would come out on top this year. Hopefully if anyone
:06:15. > :06:19.is near me in that last 25, they can bring it home for Britain. And
:06:20. > :06:31.British Olympic swimming trials start later this month. As do
:06:32. > :06:38.tennis, table tennis players in Rio. Since then Joanna has taken a break
:06:39. > :06:45.to have a baby and Paul is finding things have certainly changed. The
:06:46. > :06:48.2nd August 2014 was a golden day for Mr and Mrs Drinkhall.
:06:49. > :06:56.COMMENTATOR: Delight for the Drinkhalls. The fifth seeds Paul and
:06:57. > :07:04.Joanna Drinkhall, gold medallists in the mixed doubles event. Paul and
:07:05. > :07:08.Joanna have since expanded their family, which means only one of the
:07:09. > :07:13.double acts will be going for another medal this summer. So much
:07:14. > :07:17.has changed since the Drinkhalls won gold at the Commonwealth games in
:07:18. > :07:20.Glasgow. This little man's arrived for one. Dougie has turned their
:07:21. > :07:24.lives upside down, but he's determined to cheer his dad on as he
:07:25. > :07:28.tries to get to Rio and the Olympics. It is a massive change.
:07:29. > :07:33.The first child. A lot different things at home. Struggling to fit,
:07:34. > :07:38.you struggle to eat for a while. Me and Jo were talking about it. In the
:07:39. > :07:43.first fee weeks you get to 4 o'clock in the afternoon and you think, I'm
:07:44. > :07:48.hungry, I haven't eaten all day. For me it helped my table tennis.
:07:49. > :07:52.There's more to life. There was before, obviously, but it is
:07:53. > :07:57.different having your own child. We've been lucky to see your little
:07:58. > :08:01.lad playing table tennis already. He'll be sick of it by the time he's
:08:02. > :08:05.a year old. Sometimes when Jo is doing things I had to bring Dougie
:08:06. > :08:11.with me to practise. Generally he is good. He sits and watches. He seems
:08:12. > :08:16.to like the noise when I'm warming up. He's watching me go around the
:08:17. > :08:21.room. He's to the a good tornado as well. A lot of people says his is
:08:22. > :08:26.better than mine. Priorities may have changed but the goal in Rio is
:08:27. > :08:29.still the same. I've proved in all the tournaments in the last two
:08:30. > :08:32.years that I can challenge anybody. It is just getting myself in the
:08:33. > :08:40.best shape and living the moment and enjoying that. If I do that,
:08:41. > :08:46.anything's possible. Better than a gold medal? Too right. Maybe he's a
:08:47. > :08:50.future Olympic champion for us. Us. That's it from the Saturday
:08:51. > :08:54.Sportsday team. We'll be back soon. Goodbye for now.
