:00:20. > :00:28.Hello and welcome to the BBC sports Centre. Over the next ten minutes we
:00:29. > :00:31.will follow one of Britain's lesser-known world champions for the
:00:32. > :00:37.start of the 50th Super Bowl weekend and we will see what the six Nations
:00:38. > :00:41.might have in store, but first the headlines. England's cricketers are
:00:42. > :00:49.taking on South Africa in the second one Day International in their
:00:50. > :00:55.series. South Africa made 262-7 on their 50 overs. England are 30-1 in
:00:56. > :01:00.reply. The unpredictability of results has been the big story this
:01:01. > :01:04.Premier League season along with Leicester City's impressive form.
:01:05. > :01:14.They are playing Manchester City, six minutes of that game have gone
:01:15. > :01:20.and it is 1-0 to Leicester. 16-year-old Katie Swann was beating
:01:21. > :01:24.in three sets this morning. And the first match of the women's six
:01:25. > :01:29.Nations saw England defeat Scotland 32-0. Ireland play Wales at one
:01:30. > :01:43.o'clock and France take on Italy this evening. At the start of 2016,
:01:44. > :01:48.Laura Massaro was able to tick the final achievement on her list,
:01:49. > :01:53.becoming the world number one. It has taken a decade to rise to the
:01:54. > :01:57.top of the global world rankings. She is now balancing life on the
:01:58. > :02:16.caught with the publicity that being the best in the world brings. An
:02:17. > :02:25.unfamiliar stage for Laura, as a first time contestant on the BBC's
:02:26. > :02:29.Question Of Sport. That is one of the fresh opportunities to come her
:02:30. > :02:40.way since she broke new ground on the squash caught where she is much
:02:41. > :02:43.more at home. Finally I suppose in your career you are the world number
:02:44. > :02:49.one, how does it feel and what does it mean to you? It feels amazing, it
:02:50. > :02:53.feels a long time coming and there was part of me that thought I would
:02:54. > :03:05.never get there after playing in the same period as Nicol David, nine
:03:06. > :03:10.years at world number one. This form I have had in the back of 2015 has
:03:11. > :03:20.kicked in and the hard work and training has paid off. She has had a
:03:21. > :03:25.14 match unbeaten run, and her spike in success came after a decision to
:03:26. > :03:30.take time away from the sport. I felt very tired on caught, I felt I
:03:31. > :03:35.couldn't concentrate. I couldn't play the way I wanted to play and I
:03:36. > :03:40.didn't know if that was me nearing the end of my career or needing a
:03:41. > :03:44.break. I took a break and after a month I felt like I wanted to get
:03:45. > :03:51.back on the caught again and it has kicked on from there really. You
:03:52. > :03:56.have won the British open, now you are the world number one, what else
:03:57. > :04:02.do you want to achieve? I want to stamp my authority on the top spot.
:04:03. > :04:07.It is about finding good form, carrying that on through 2016 and
:04:08. > :04:18.hopefully if you can hold onto that spot for long time. Laura is still
:04:19. > :04:23.learning about the high life but one of the biggest and most brash sports
:04:24. > :04:28.events of the year is about to take place. It is Super Bowl weekend, and
:04:29. > :04:33.when the Carolina Panthers take on the Denver Broncos it will be a
:04:34. > :04:48.landmark for American football. This is Super Bowl L and here are the
:04:49. > :04:56.facts and figures. -- Super Bowl 50. The famous Vince Lombardi trophy was
:04:57. > :05:05.first fought over in 1967 but it was not even super back then, it was the
:05:06. > :05:09.AFL NFL World Championship game, back then the average player got
:05:10. > :05:18.around $6,000 per year, nowadays that would take the league's best
:05:19. > :05:22.paid player just over an hour to make. There are now the famous
:05:23. > :05:27.half-time shows, in nearly days you were lucky if you got a marching
:05:28. > :05:31.band but Michael Jackson's performance in 1993 paved the way
:05:32. > :05:38.for some of the biggest names in music to crash the party. And who
:05:39. > :05:43.could forget his sister's wardrobe malfunction in 2004? Players have
:05:44. > :05:55.changed as well, in the NFL size matters. The average player in the
:05:56. > :06:05.1960s weighed in at 251 lbs. Now the majority of players are weighing in
:06:06. > :06:08.at around 310 lbs. There have been plenty of fashion disasters over the
:06:09. > :06:17.years, proving money cannot buy you everything. As the American football
:06:18. > :06:22.season reaches its climax, rugby union's six Nations is about to get
:06:23. > :06:25.under way and it is the most open tournament for many years. France
:06:26. > :06:30.face Italy before Scotland host England. Defending champions Ireland
:06:31. > :07:04.take on Wales tomorrow. It has been eight long years since
:07:05. > :07:09.Scotland last lifted rugby's oldest trophy, the Calcutta Cup has
:07:10. > :07:14.collected English dust but is change in the air? This time Scotland are
:07:15. > :07:18.building on something England relaying foundations, they were
:07:19. > :07:22.embarrassed in their own World Cup. Scotland made progress but that
:07:23. > :07:26.didn't number paints of a late disputed Australian penalty in the
:07:27. > :07:34.quarterfinal. I will take that to my grave with me. For your life's work
:07:35. > :07:40.to end like that, it was difficult to take but we cannot feel sorry for
:07:41. > :07:45.ourselves. Do you do detect a mood in the camp that they want to make
:07:46. > :07:50.up for the World Cup? Yes, they are hungry, they want to put things
:07:51. > :07:54.right. In Dylan Hartley and Eddie Jones England have a new captain and
:07:55. > :07:59.coach, Scotland are at their most stable in years. Despite that,
:08:00. > :08:03.England are the pretournament favourites, the expectation on
:08:04. > :08:07.Scotland comes from within. We want them to be able to play and enjoy
:08:08. > :08:13.the game, and they are competitors, they want to win. For me, pressure
:08:14. > :08:17.is opportunity. People obviously expect us to win if that is the case
:08:18. > :08:23.and you have got to get excited about that. The last two games
:08:24. > :08:27.between these two haven't been close but they have always been
:08:28. > :08:33.competitive, this one cannot be taken lightly. Do what we like
:08:34. > :08:43.doing, play the game we like playing, and show some character.
:08:44. > :08:48.The BBC's Six Nations coverage starts at 1:30pm on BBC One. The top
:08:49. > :08:55.of the table clash in the Premier League sees Leicester City 1-0 up
:08:56. > :09:01.against Manchester City. That's it for Saturday Sportsday, goodbye.
