:00:13. > :00:15.Hello, and welcome to the BBC Sport Centre.

:00:16. > :00:22.We look ahead to what is a huge fight for boxer Amir Khan tonight.

:00:23. > :00:24.We'll also be previewing the fencers going on the attack

:00:25. > :00:26.at the Rio Olympics, but first let's take a look

:00:27. > :00:32.at what else is hitting the sporting headlines today.

:00:33. > :00:34.After Leicester's title triumph, it's easy to forget there's

:00:35. > :00:36.still plenty to play for as the football

:00:37. > :00:40.Not least in the Championship where Middlesbrough and Brighton go

:00:41. > :00:42.head to head to secure the final automatic promotion place

:00:43. > :00:45.and the huge financial rewards Premier league football will bring.

:00:46. > :00:50.Brighton must win, failure to do so, will send Middlesbrough up.

:00:51. > :00:53.Andy Murray is continuing the defence of his Madrid Masters

:00:54. > :00:55.title, as he faces Rafa Nadal in the semifinals.

:00:56. > :00:59.Murray is on the brink of taking the first set.

:01:00. > :01:03.Also looking to successfully defend his title is Rory Mcilroy

:01:04. > :01:07.who is within six shots of the lead after the second round of the Wells

:01:08. > :01:19.The World Number three finished on two under at the halfway stage.

:01:20. > :01:25.It is like night tonight for Amir Khan in what is being billed as the

:01:26. > :01:30.biggest bout of his career. He takes on Alvarez in Las Vegas for the WBC

:01:31. > :01:34.title. The result of which will have a huge bearing on just how his

:01:35. > :01:36.career will be remembered. Mike Costello went to join him in

:01:37. > :01:50.training. A year ago no one had even heard of

:01:51. > :01:57.this little fellow, and here he is on the top of the world. I want

:01:58. > :02:02.people to know me. I want fame. I want to be one of the greatest

:02:03. > :02:06.legends in boxing. It has been a long and sometimes bumpy road to

:02:07. > :02:10.Amir Khan city won a silver medal at the Olympic Games at the age of 17.

:02:11. > :02:14.12 years on I have come to meet him in training in San Francisco as he

:02:15. > :02:17.prepares for the biggest fight in his professional career against the

:02:18. > :02:24.world middleweight champion Alvarez of Mexico will stop -- Mexico. You

:02:25. > :02:29.knew what you in for when you woke up, how does it feel? I knew it was

:02:30. > :02:33.going to be a hard session. I have done a lot of training in my days.

:02:34. > :02:38.This has to be one of the hardest work out in the morning, especially

:02:39. > :02:41.when you have just got out of bed. A couple of hours

:02:42. > :02:45.when you have just got out of bed. A and it is deeper than a normal

:02:46. > :02:51.beach. Your leg gets stuck. Your sand is up to your knee -- the sand.

:02:52. > :02:55.What kind of athlete is he? Ferrari. He is fast and he can handle the

:02:56. > :03:08.corner very He is fast and he can handle the

:03:09. > :03:13.was keen on the fight? I was. Initially I didn't like it.

:03:14. > :03:22.Justifiably. Size is different. For why, what? Who was it, what was it,

:03:23. > :03:28.in the end, that convinced you? Amir . I asked why he wanted it. It is a

:03:29. > :03:36.global fight. Not just big in England. It is big around the world.

:03:37. > :03:40.He has never been an underdog. The only time he was an underdog was

:03:41. > :03:45.once before. That was the Olympic Games. He proved everybody wrong. He

:03:46. > :03:49.is the underdog on the 7th of May. He will prove everybody wrong again.

:03:50. > :03:52.is the underdog on the 7th of May. He is a monster. He is a tough guy.

:03:53. > :03:58.He is a puncher with speed and power. The only reason I'm taking it

:03:59. > :04:05.is because I want to make history and I know I can beat him. If you

:04:06. > :04:14.want to hear more from him, there is a special documentary, The Rise Of

:04:15. > :04:18.Khan, on iPlayer. Having qualified in 2012 as the host nation the foil

:04:19. > :04:22.team secured their place in the year with a nice place finish at the

:04:23. > :04:23.World Cup in February. For one of the team named this week, fencing is

:04:24. > :04:41.a real family affair as we British fencing is in rude health.

:04:42. > :04:45.They have a serious contender for a medal this summer. Lawrence and the

:04:46. > :04:49.rest of the British team went to the Olympics four years ago but this

:04:50. > :05:00.time it means more, qualifying by right instead of being given a place

:05:01. > :05:02.as the host. -- Laurence. Since we became professional, we have been

:05:03. > :05:07.able to compete with the rest of the world. An amount of that

:05:08. > :05:21.professional training, now we can start to smash them. Fencing is in

:05:22. > :05:27.the Halsted blood, with both his parents competing in the past. The

:05:28. > :05:30.first time as a team. The first British team since 1992. It makes a

:05:31. > :05:35.difference. I know my father would have been proud. Probably as proud

:05:36. > :05:39.the first time, but just to come through that, to have driven this

:05:40. > :05:45.team towards another qualification, I can imagine very clearly how

:05:46. > :05:48.pleased he would have been. Two generations of Olympians in the same

:05:49. > :05:54.family is an achievement in itself, but if Laurence can surpass his

:05:55. > :06:02.parents and win a medal, his family's legacy will be assured.

:06:03. > :06:05.As a childfree illegally wanted to play for Arsenal but those dreams

:06:06. > :06:18.were ended when she was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. -- Frea

:06:19. > :06:28.Levy. But she now has a number route, wheelchair basketball. --

:06:29. > :06:35.another route. I started playing rugby, as soon as I could walk. I

:06:36. > :06:42.was interested in playing football for Arsenal. Faye White was my hero

:06:43. > :06:48.and I had a goal to play for Arsenal. I had weakness in my

:06:49. > :06:53.shoulder. The GPs put it down to just pain from playing sport. It

:06:54. > :06:58.became incredibly painful. And on the 21st of September we got the

:06:59. > :07:02.diagnosis of muscle dystrophy. It was a big issue for my mum. A

:07:03. > :07:06.distressing time for her because I was a baby and I am the youngest.

:07:07. > :07:14.How important was sport to you at that time and finding a new focus?

:07:15. > :07:19.It was massive. To all of my friends I was Frea in a wheelchair, but when

:07:20. > :07:25.I started wheelchair basketball everybody was in the wheelchair. She

:07:26. > :07:31.has started a bit late to make the Rio Olympics, but her talent has not

:07:32. > :07:34.gone unnoticed. And she has been chosen by Michael Johnson to train

:07:35. > :07:39.at his academy in the USA this month. She will also help to create

:07:40. > :07:44.a project which will assist other disabled people. She is very aware

:07:45. > :07:50.of other people who may have similar situations to hers. She wants to

:07:51. > :07:55.help these young folks to get on a track to success for themselves,

:07:56. > :07:58.whether it be in sport, if they have the athletic ability to do that as

:07:59. > :08:03.athletes, coaches, she just needs the opportunity to get that project

:08:04. > :08:09.going. His performance Centre in Dallas has people training for the

:08:10. > :08:12.NBA draft. As a basketball fan and a fan of the MDA it is exciting to be

:08:13. > :08:22.in that environment. How much does it make you want to compete? -- NBA.

:08:23. > :08:27.He cannot get higher than that. It is great to have Great Britain on

:08:28. > :08:34.the front, Levy on the back, and to say thank you to my mum, it is a

:08:35. > :08:37.dream. Amazing story. Middlesbrough have taken an early lead against

:08:38. > :08:42.Brighton at the Riverside, which means they are on course to get that

:08:43. > :08:47.second automatic promotion spot to the Premier League. Burley are also

:08:48. > :08:57.in the lead, meaning they will be promoted -- Burnley. It is goodbye

:08:58. > :08:59.for now from me and the rest of the team.
