:00:11. > :00:16.Hello and welcome to the BBC sports Centre. Over the next 15 minutes, we

:00:17. > :00:19.have a round-up of the weekend 's board including the latest from the

:00:20. > :00:36.ashes. This is Saturday Sportsday. Coming up on the programme, another

:00:37. > :00:41.disastrous performance from England in cricket leaving them staring at

:00:42. > :00:47.another defeat in Australia. We have a report and reaction from Adelaide.

:00:48. > :00:56.Try typing this into a search engine, you will find this from

:00:57. > :01:01.Scott Boswell, by his recovery has taken ten years. And a potential

:01:02. > :01:08.clash between two taekwondo arch rivals in Manchester, 18 months on

:01:09. > :01:12.from Olympics controversy. The sport headlines.

:01:13. > :01:17.Roy Hodgson says he is still very positive about England's World Cup

:01:18. > :01:23.hopes despite them getting Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica.

:01:24. > :01:27.Neil Robertson is on course to win the big trouble in snooker. He had

:01:28. > :01:32.already won the Masters and world championships and is through to the

:01:33. > :01:39.UK Championship for the first time after victory over Stuart Bingham in

:01:40. > :01:45.the semifinals. And it is day two of the track

:01:46. > :01:51.cycling World Cup in Mexico. Jason Kenny picked up a sprint silver.

:01:52. > :01:54.Let us start in Adelaide, a second humiliating Ashes defeat in

:01:55. > :01:59.Australia. And England batting collapse with eight of the team not

:02:00. > :02:07.even reaching double figures. Mitchell Johnson ripped through with

:02:08. > :02:14.seven, 440 runs. Australia are in complete control with a lead of 530

:02:15. > :02:19.runs. Joe Wilson has the details. By mid-afternoon on the third day of

:02:20. > :02:23.the second Test, people in Adelaide were openly talking about there

:02:24. > :02:30.being no way back for England in this Ashes series. That may yet seem

:02:31. > :02:37.premature. But the point is, Australia were utterly dominant.

:02:38. > :02:42.Mitchell Johnson is a player that England cannot deal with. That's how

:02:43. > :02:48.it looked today. This is the scorecard. Seven wickets they him.

:02:49. > :02:53.He blew away the middle order, in the words of Ian Bell. There are

:02:54. > :02:58.still a couple of players, Ian Bell, Michael Carberry. Bell was

:02:59. > :03:05.able to attack before he was stranded. Mitchell Johnson said this

:03:06. > :03:10.was his best day in test cricket. Ian Bell was the England player left

:03:11. > :03:13.to try to explain things at the close of play.

:03:14. > :03:20.Another disappointing performance, and you can't afford in test

:03:21. > :03:27.matches, in first innings, to be bowled out at 200. It is

:03:28. > :03:32.disappointing. There will be no excuses. We need to make sure we put

:03:33. > :03:34.that right and have an opportunity in the second innings to show

:03:35. > :03:40.people. How do you explain their inability

:03:41. > :03:44.to deal with Mitchell Johnson? Is it a question of technique or attitude,

:03:45. > :03:50.that will to win that even Graham Gooch spoke about at the start of

:03:51. > :03:54.the week in Adelaide. Michael Vaughan was the England captain who

:03:55. > :03:59.won Australian respect, I asked his opinion.

:04:00. > :04:06.It looked like they were shy, petrified, a bit scared. Not a good

:04:07. > :04:12.sign as a batting unit. They were backing off when Mitchell Johnson

:04:13. > :04:16.was bowling. I think that the courage that is required to face

:04:17. > :04:22.quick bowling comes from within. A coach can't tell you that. This

:04:23. > :04:26.batting unit aren't playing with great confidence, they aren't in

:04:27. > :04:34.great form. They need to ask their own questions. Have they got the

:04:35. > :04:41.fight and desire? Brisbane was bad. But they had the excuse of the

:04:42. > :04:45.pitch. This is a flat wicket. I have two say, for long periods it was

:04:46. > :04:50.embarrassing. What will happen on the fourth day?

:04:51. > :04:54.Mitchell Johnson has said they will let England Cook in the field a

:04:55. > :05:01.little longer, let David Wanna get his century, let the lead build-up

:05:02. > :05:04.to do, who knows, 650, then Mitchell Johnson will be unleashed again.

:05:05. > :05:10.There is no hiding place. Jonathan Trott's recent withdrawal

:05:11. > :05:13.from England's Ashes squad, because of a stress related illness, brought

:05:14. > :05:16.up the issue of depression in cricket once again. A less

:05:17. > :05:19.well-known example is former Leicestershire bowler Scott Boswell.

:05:20. > :05:21.He became an internet hit because of one disastrous over at Lords in

:05:22. > :05:25.2001. The experience devastated Boswell, and ended his career. Tim

:05:26. > :05:28.Hague found out that, 12 years later, and now teaching at Trent

:05:29. > :05:36.College in Nottingham, Boswell is only just recovering.

:05:37. > :05:47.I choked on the day. I froze. I bowled wide. It got louder and

:05:48. > :05:51.louder. It was almost a fear of failure. I was so concerned. My

:05:52. > :05:58.gosh, how am I going to get through this over? This was meant to be the

:05:59. > :06:03.best day of my life but it turned out to be the worst day.

:06:04. > :06:10.Something Scott Boswell still finds hard to look at, and remember, that

:06:11. > :06:14.a simple Internet search for worst over ever revealing the sad end to

:06:15. > :06:21.his cricket career. A Lord's final 12 years ago where a 14 ball over,

:06:22. > :06:24.18 of them wide, left a permanent mark on his life.

:06:25. > :06:31.It was an awful feeling, it took a long time to get over, a long, long

:06:32. > :06:37.time. How long? How long? Probably ten years. Deep inside, I wasn't

:06:38. > :06:43.dealing with it. If anybody mentioned it, my word, I would lose

:06:44. > :06:47.the plot. Whether I was depressed at the time, there was something not

:06:48. > :06:53.quite right with me because I became more introverted and isolated from

:06:54. > :06:58.society. I kept myself to myself. I was very down about things. I found

:06:59. > :07:02.it hard to deal with. After his professional career was

:07:03. > :07:05.over, Boswell tried to regain his confidence in club cricket. But

:07:06. > :07:09.matters of the mind are not that simple.

:07:10. > :07:13.There were stages where it got stuck in my hand. Trying to let go of it

:07:14. > :07:19.and it would come through. It would literally go on the ground. All over

:07:20. > :07:26.the top of the keeper. Anywhere. I would physically be sick. I was

:07:27. > :07:30.bowling through tears. I can laugh about it now but during the time, it

:07:31. > :07:36.was pretty painful. Relief from that pain eventually

:07:37. > :07:41.came. In a less obvious way. Cricket in its most basic form is very

:07:42. > :07:46.simple. All you need is a bat and a ball. Scott Boswell is using his

:07:47. > :07:52.negative experience from that game, in a positive way, by teaching the

:07:53. > :07:56.next generation of cricketers. Teaching, every word you say can

:07:57. > :07:58.have an effect on the rest of their life.

:07:59. > :08:05.I think I have got the empathy side of it. It still gets me. I get a

:08:06. > :08:11.little bit apprehensive. But, I help them. I say, I know exactly where

:08:12. > :08:13.you have been. I know how it feels. Try this. That vulnerable side, kids

:08:14. > :08:20.can relate to and accept. With the autumn internationals done

:08:21. > :08:23.and dusted, Rugby Union turns its attention to the Heineken Cup this

:08:24. > :08:26.weekend. There are six fixtures today. The top two in pool one meet,

:08:27. > :08:29.as Northampton face Leinster. Elsewhere, Saracens and Ulster

:08:30. > :08:32.should be too strong for their Italian opposition. But Scarlets and

:08:33. > :08:36.Quins face tough trips to France. Perhaps the pick of the games is at

:08:37. > :08:43.Sandy Park, as Exeter take on defending champions Toulon, and

:08:44. > :08:50.their star fly-half Jonny Wilkinson. Yes. Certainly bring a bit of extra

:08:51. > :08:54.attention. He has obviously done fantastically well and he won the

:08:55. > :08:57.condition last year. These guys are the holders. We are pitting

:08:58. > :09:02.ourselves against some of the best players in the world over the last

:09:03. > :09:04.few years. That is an exciting challenge but we are not overawed.

:09:05. > :09:15.We will see where we come. Next weekend, one of the most highly

:09:16. > :09:17.anticipated fights in the history of taekwondo could take place in

:09:18. > :09:20.Manchester, between Olympic bronze medallist Lutalo Muhammad and

:09:21. > :09:23.European champion Aaron Cook. You may remember that last year the duo

:09:24. > :09:27.were embroiled in a bitter appeals battle for a place in the London

:09:28. > :09:30.2012 squad, after then world number one Cook was overlooked in favour of

:09:31. > :09:33.his lower-ranked rival. Muhammad received hate mail. But, after

:09:34. > :09:37.missing out on the Games, Cook has since lost all of his sponsorship,

:09:38. > :09:44.and now funds himself. Nick Hope has been to meet the pair.

:09:45. > :09:48.It is one of the biggest fights. A lot of people would like to see

:09:49. > :09:51.that fight and I would like to fight them.

:09:52. > :09:56.British selectors have again chosen Lutalo Muhammad over Aaron Cook for

:09:57. > :10:00.London 2012. World number one, reigning two-time

:10:01. > :10:04.champion. The constant appeals, it was nasty

:10:05. > :10:09.and unnecessary. That's fine, that is his opinion. I

:10:10. > :10:13.beat him twice come he beat me once. I know what I can do, I am confident

:10:14. > :10:17.but the result will be. There is only going to be one

:10:18. > :10:22.winner, me. Fighting talk ahead of a boxing bout

:10:23. > :10:27.not a taekwondo jewel. These are passionate rivals. Both great

:10:28. > :10:29.victory. Following his Olympic projection, Cook needs it more than

:10:30. > :10:38.Muhammad. I was in pieces I was in tears. It

:10:39. > :10:43.was difficult. I lost my dream, my Olympic dream. My mum and dad had

:10:44. > :10:47.funded everything for me. It is not cheap. Hopefully, somewhere along

:10:48. > :10:53.the line, someone will stand up and stay -- say this is right. Life for

:10:54. > :10:57.Muhammad was an easy either. He was the victim of hate mail. Why it

:10:58. > :11:03.bothers me is not so much I received the messages. My family was

:11:04. > :11:08.affected, my parents were being hounded by reporters. My dad was

:11:09. > :11:13.being followed to his place of work. I don't look back on it fondly.

:11:14. > :11:19.Muhammad went on to claim Olympic bronze while Cook secured sanctuary

:11:20. > :11:26.under the flag of the Isle of Man. He still aims to fight for Britain

:11:27. > :11:31.in 2016. To be in Rio, I am going to be Olympic champion, world champion,

:11:32. > :11:38.have that anthem playing behind me. It would be a dream.

:11:39. > :11:45.People say I won a bronze model. I say you can only win the gold. --

:11:46. > :11:49.bronze medal. Muhammad and Cook share the same dream and neither was

:11:50. > :11:53.a repeat of the Olympic selection controversy. The only way to achieve

:11:54. > :11:59.that is with the upright domination of their sport which begins in

:12:00. > :12:03.Manchester. -- out right domination.

:12:04. > :12:06.You can watch how they and the other leading Great Britain fighters get

:12:07. > :12:09.on at the World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Manchester, with live coverage of

:12:10. > :12:13.the semi-finals and finals, during each day of the competition. That's

:12:14. > :12:17.Friday 13th to Sunday 15th, via the red button, and BBC Sport website.

:12:18. > :12:20.It's the Gymnastics World Cup in Glasgow this weekend, and there's

:12:21. > :12:23.live coverage on the BBC Sport website at 1pm, with highlights on

:12:24. > :12:26.BBC One next Saturday. Olympic bronze medallist Dan Purvis will be

:12:27. > :12:30.among those in action, in front of a sell-out crowd, and he's using the

:12:31. > :12:40.experience to help his preparations for next year's Commonwealth Games

:12:41. > :12:44.in Glasgow. Since the Olympics, it was crazy how

:12:45. > :12:50.many people actually watched it and recognised the team. It was great

:12:51. > :12:58.for the sport. That we actually got the bronze medal. Since then, it has

:12:59. > :13:05.been really good kids getting into the sport. Especially in my own gym

:13:06. > :13:14.club in Southport. It's been like that around the country. A lot of

:13:15. > :13:16.people asking me where to chain. England's women hockey players are

:13:17. > :13:19.in semifinal action at the World League Tournament in Argentina.

:13:20. > :13:23.They'll face Australia at 9.30 tonight for a place in the final

:13:24. > :13:25.They should go into the match with plenty of confidence, after

:13:26. > :13:28.dominating their quarter final against China on Thursday night,

:13:29. > :13:31.despite only having Georgie Twigg's penalty to show for it. They'll face

:13:32. > :13:33.a tougher test against the Australians. Argentina and the

:13:34. > :13:38.Netherlands will contest the other semifinal.

:13:39. > :13:47.Before we go, just time to update you on the early kick off. At

:13:48. > :13:54.Manchester United v Newcastle, it's currently: 0-0.

:13:55. > :13:57.That's all from us for this week. Goodbye.
