:00:07. > :00:12.We have got another busy afternoon ahead here at the BBC Sport Centre,

:00:13. > :00:14.with the latest news and features. I'm Olly Foster. This is Saturday

:00:15. > :00:30.Sportsday. Here is what is coming up. Back for

:00:31. > :00:34.more is - England cricket have named their new head coach. We will have

:00:35. > :00:37.the latest on Lords in a moment on the return of Peter Moores to the

:00:38. > :00:43.national side. Nothing left to aim for. From being

:00:44. > :00:47.the best in the world, a Paralympic rule change means that Danielle

:00:48. > :00:51.Brown's career is now over. And one year on from the Boston

:00:52. > :00:57.Marathon bombing, we are in the city ahead of Monday's race.

:00:58. > :01:01.All that to come, but first, here are some of today's headlines.

:01:02. > :01:03.The World Snooker championship is underway in Sheffield. Defending

:01:04. > :01:08.champion Ronnie O'Sullivan has opened proceedings against the

:01:09. > :01:10.Finnish qualifier. We will have more from the Crucible later in the

:01:11. > :01:14.programme. Lee Westwood leads the Malaysian

:01:15. > :01:17.Open by one shot, with one round to go in Kuala Lumpur. He has not won a

:01:18. > :01:20.great tournament in two years. Fellow in Dishman Andy Sullivan is

:01:21. > :01:24.one shot behind him. And Ellie Simmonds, Stephanie Slater

:01:25. > :01:29.and Amy Marren were among those who qualified for the IPCC championship

:01:30. > :01:33.on the opening day of the British Para-Swimming meet.

:01:34. > :01:38.Let's get straight to the day's top story. Peter Moores was back at

:01:39. > :01:41.Lord's this morning as England Cricket named him as their head

:01:42. > :01:45.coach. It's the same job he had five years ago, before a rift with Kevin

:01:46. > :01:48.Pietersen forced him out. Our reporter Ben Smith is live at Lord's

:01:49. > :01:51.for us. Afternoon, Ben. The ECB say they had an extremely impressive

:01:52. > :01:55.short list of candidates for the role. Moore's first stint was hardly

:01:56. > :02:04.glittering, but he's got another chance? He certainly has. In 2009,

:02:05. > :02:08.Peter Moores was sacked from his position as the head coach of a good

:02:09. > :02:12.cricket after a high-profile falling out with the then captain, Kevin

:02:13. > :02:16.Pietersen. Everything has changed now and after a disastrous winter in

:02:17. > :02:20.Australia, and some embarrassment at the World Cup in Bangladesh, England

:02:21. > :02:24.are very much in need of new direction and new leadership. After

:02:25. > :02:27.the press conference this morning, I spoke to Peter Moores and I started

:02:28. > :02:33.by asking him what it was like to get a second bite of the cherry. It

:02:34. > :02:37.probably is a bit unprecedented. You don't normally get a second chance.

:02:38. > :02:43.Maybe the way I left was a bit strange as well. I am just looking

:02:44. > :02:52.forward to it. It has been a tough winter. I had a chance to talk to

:02:53. > :03:02.Alastair Cook and help clear his vision. He has some strong views on

:03:03. > :03:13.where things need to go. I'm afraid we have lost the line to

:03:14. > :03:17.Lord's. Chile, the relationship between coach and captain Alastair

:03:18. > :03:19.Cook will be under a lot of scrutiny after what happened with Moores and

:03:20. > :03:23.Kevin Pietersen five years ago when they fell out. But here was the

:03:24. > :03:29.England captain, Alastair Cook, today. I have been in limbo over the

:03:30. > :03:34.last couple of months since Andy Flower steps down. So to finally get

:03:35. > :03:40.to the point where we have a new coach, we can start planning the

:03:41. > :03:44.future. It is going to be small steps and it will take time to

:03:45. > :03:47.rebuild. But we have a huge amount of talent in the country, and it is

:03:48. > :03:54.an exciting time to be an England player. Test places are up for

:03:55. > :03:59.grabs. One day places are up for grabs. And we have a new leadership

:04:00. > :04:04.group at the top. To be part of that is exciting. And it is exciting to

:04:05. > :04:10.regain connection with Lords as well! We have just heard from the

:04:11. > :04:14.captain, Alastair Cook are talking about building England for the

:04:15. > :04:17.future and rebuilding a relationship with the coach. He got on very well

:04:18. > :04:23.with Andy Flower, but Kevin Pietersen is still on the agenda?

:04:24. > :04:28.Yes, it is very rare these days that an England cricket press conference

:04:29. > :04:31.goes by without the question of Kevin Pietersen being brought up,

:04:32. > :04:35.and today was no exception. But it was clear from both Peter Moores and

:04:36. > :04:38.the chief executive of the ECB that there is no way back to Kevin

:04:39. > :04:41.Pietersen under this current leadership. England is looking to

:04:42. > :04:50.the future, and they hope today marks the start of a new era.

:04:51. > :04:54.You may remember, we told you the story of Danielle Brown last year.

:04:55. > :04:57.The British archer was planning for a hat-trick of Paralympic golds, but

:04:58. > :05:01.after her success in Beijing and London, she won't be going to Rio

:05:02. > :05:04.because she no longer qualifies as a Paralympic athlete. In an exclusive

:05:05. > :05:08.interview, she told our reporter, Nick Hope, how she was accused of

:05:09. > :05:19.lying and how she has felt let down by the Paralympic movement. I have

:05:20. > :05:24.got something called complex regional pain syndrome, which causes

:05:25. > :05:28.chronic pain in both my feet. My movement is quite clumsy. I have got

:05:29. > :05:31.no sensations in my feet apart from hot and cold, so I don't know where

:05:32. > :05:36.they are in relation to the rest of me. So I end up falling over a lot.

:05:37. > :05:39.I use crutches to get around. I use a wheelchair for longer distances

:05:40. > :05:44.because I just can't walk it. Danielle Brown was Paralympic damp

:05:45. > :05:49.union both Beijing and London. She is so skilled at her sport that she

:05:50. > :05:53.has also competed as an able-bodied archer and won, was called in Delhi

:05:54. > :05:56.four years ago. But her Paralympic career was always her priority,

:05:57. > :06:01.until world archery change their rules last year and deemed her

:06:02. > :06:07.ineligible. She challenged the decision, but endured an agonising

:06:08. > :06:10.and ultimately unsuccessful retest. The classifiers were not

:06:11. > :06:14.particularly understanding about my condition. They were pulling my feet

:06:15. > :06:18.around to the point where I was in so much pain that I could not walk,

:06:19. > :06:22.eat or sleep for two days afterwards. They thought I might be

:06:23. > :06:25.making it up . Was I keeping track of the points. They were writing

:06:26. > :06:30.them down, and I got more than enough to pass. A week later, they

:06:31. > :06:35.turned round and said that they had seen me walking on YouTube videos so

:06:36. > :06:39.I was no longer eligible. The International Paralympic committee

:06:40. > :06:43.and world archery say they followed their rules by the book and that

:06:44. > :06:47.Danielle Brown is an unfortunate casualties of that tightening of the

:06:48. > :06:49.regulations, but she has been left heartbroken, concerned about how she

:06:50. > :06:54.will pay her mortgage and worried about the direction of the

:06:55. > :06:58.Paralympic movement. Unfortunately, this invisible disabilities are the

:06:59. > :07:02.ones they seem to be targeting. It was not until I went to Beijing that

:07:03. > :07:07.I came to terms with having a disability. Seeing the most amazing

:07:08. > :07:11.and inspirational people achieving such great things in spite of their

:07:12. > :07:16.disabilities made me think, what have I got to worry about? And I

:07:17. > :07:23.accepted myself for July was, rather than who I wanted to be. This rules

:07:24. > :07:30.will limit the amount of people that can get those opportunities. It is

:07:31. > :07:33.such a shame. As soon as money was poured into the sport, the

:07:34. > :07:37.Paralympic values of inclusion and equality go out of the window.

:07:38. > :07:39.Although Danielle Brown is still angry and upset about the way she

:07:40. > :07:44.has been treated, she has not finished with archery, and aims to

:07:45. > :07:49.channel that frustrated in a positive way and guide others in the

:07:50. > :07:53.sport. So many people helped me to get to where I got, and now it is

:07:54. > :07:57.time for me to put something back and help others achieve their

:07:58. > :08:00.ambitions. I put down all my success to being mentally stronger than my

:08:01. > :08:04.competitors, so I want to teach people how to do that. She has now

:08:05. > :08:08.abandoned any hope of a Paralympic or able-bodied future, but still

:08:09. > :08:12.allows herself to look back on past achievements. Amongst these amazing

:08:13. > :08:18.medals, one in particular that must mean a lot to you. Gold in London.

:08:19. > :08:21.This is definitely my favourite. If it was going to be the end, I would

:08:22. > :08:26.rather have this one than any other. I don't think you could ever beat a

:08:27. > :08:29.home games. We wish her well with whatever she

:08:30. > :08:32.does next in her career. The World Snooker Championship is

:08:33. > :08:35.underway in Sheffield. Ronnie O'Sullivan has started the defence

:08:36. > :08:40.of his title and leads against Robin Hull. Of course, you'll be able to

:08:41. > :08:45.watch every frame across the BBC. From the Crucible, here's Hazel

:08:46. > :08:48.Irvine. Day one of the Dafabet World

:08:49. > :08:53.Championship, and it is Ronnie O'Sullivan firmly in the spotlight,

:08:54. > :08:57.trying to do what this man has done, to win the world championship

:08:58. > :09:01.six times in total. But Ronnie is going for three in a row, which has

:09:02. > :09:07.not been done since Hendry's days. There is a lot riding on this for

:09:08. > :09:11.him? There is. If he is going to break the records and win it eight

:09:12. > :09:16.times, which is looking further ahead into the future, perhaps this

:09:17. > :09:20.year is important. He will have great opportunities, but as he gets

:09:21. > :09:23.older, it will get harder. He was the first man out this morning in

:09:24. > :09:28.his match against Robin Hull Finland, but of those in the draw

:09:29. > :09:31.this time, who are best placed to challenge one in this world

:09:32. > :09:34.championship? Best post to challenge him is in jewellery, who had a

:09:35. > :09:42.fantastic season. But when they played recently, in June we was

:09:43. > :09:46.outclassed by Ronnie O'Sullivan. Ding Junhui has won five events,

:09:47. > :09:49.which has not been done since Stephen Hendry's season. Of the

:09:50. > :09:55.others, there are the likes of Neil Robertson, Sean Murphy, Marco Fu,

:09:56. > :09:59.the quiet man. Always regarded in terms of being favourite for this

:10:00. > :10:03.tournament, and the likes of Arie Hawkins as well, last year's

:10:04. > :10:08.runner-up. So many possibilities. Yes, there are, but they are all

:10:09. > :10:12.unfortunately queueing up to be in the shadow of Ronnie O'Sullivan.

:10:13. > :10:16.That has been the story so far. The only possibility is if Ronnie

:10:17. > :10:19.O'Sullivan does not ring his A going to the table and gives the other

:10:20. > :10:26.players some hope. But judging by the bookmakers, if he plays to any

:10:27. > :10:30.type of standard, it has been shown in the past that the best of the

:10:31. > :10:35.other players can do is to match him. Nobody can outclass him. There

:10:36. > :10:38.is the problem. Having said that, we are talking about some of the

:10:39. > :10:43.classiest players there has ever been. Second week of the world

:10:44. > :10:47.championship is where it starts to unfold. We may see somebody come

:10:48. > :10:52.from the pack and show some real form that can test anybody. So many

:10:53. > :10:56.possibilities, so much look forward to we will be back on the air on BBC

:10:57. > :11:03.Two at one o'clock. Hope you join us.

:11:04. > :11:06.The Womens' Super League season kicked off this week. There are two

:11:07. > :11:09.divisions this season, reflecting the growth and strength of the game.

:11:10. > :11:12.Birmingham City Ladies are also into the semi-finals of the Champions

:11:13. > :11:14.League. They play their first leg this afternoon against the Swedish

:11:15. > :11:19.side, Tyreso. It is like a dream come true to play

:11:20. > :11:22.at this level and to be in the semifinals of a Champions League.

:11:23. > :11:27.You watch the men's and you watch it on TV and you get a feel for it. For

:11:28. > :11:31.us to be here is massive, so I hope this can be the year we can win it.

:11:32. > :11:34.It's the Boston Marathon on Monday, Patriots' Day in America. A year

:11:35. > :11:38.ago, two explosions near the finish line killed three people and injured

:11:39. > :11:41.hundreds. A man of Chechen origin is due to appear in court later this

:11:42. > :11:50.year, charged with planting the bombs on the marathon route. Lee

:11:51. > :11:54.James is in the city for us. I am in Boston. 12 months ago,

:11:55. > :11:57.thousands of people were all around me. The finishing line was in sight

:11:58. > :12:04.when tragedy struck the Boston Marathon. At 2:49pm, the first of

:12:05. > :12:07.two bombs exploded, killing three people and injuring hundreds more

:12:08. > :12:11.and changing the lives of so many in this city forever. 5600 people start

:12:12. > :12:16.of the Marathon last year, but were unable to complete the race. Many of

:12:17. > :12:21.them will be competing again on Monday. 36,000 people are expected

:12:22. > :12:25.to take part, and they anticipate that over 1 million people will line

:12:26. > :12:29.the course, from the start to hear in the city of Boston. You can

:12:30. > :12:33.imagine how emotional the final mile will be. Take a look down the

:12:34. > :12:37.street. The runners will be coming up here towards the finishing line.

:12:38. > :12:42.Many spectators will be at the same vantage point I work 12 months ago.

:12:43. > :12:46.Some will cross the finish line holding the hands of their loved

:12:47. > :12:53.ones taking part. It will be a very emotional Marathon in Boston. My

:12:54. > :12:57.hope is that everybody is as resilient and committed to the

:12:58. > :13:01.security and safety of the spectators and runners as they were

:13:02. > :13:05.last year, when they shop down this entire city and everybody did

:13:06. > :13:09.exactly what they needed to do to help . You will see the same this

:13:10. > :13:14.year. The city really does seem to have come together after the events

:13:15. > :13:18.of 12 months ago. You can see the colours of blue and yellow

:13:19. > :13:22.everywhere. Boston shrunk, the slogan, is on T-shirts and banners.

:13:23. > :13:26.Some have even tattooed it onto themselves. The world's oldest and

:13:27. > :13:30.most prodigious Marathon will be a very poignant event on Monday. But

:13:31. > :13:32.the city says it is time to run again.

:13:33. > :13:37.That's just about it. There's one match underway in the Premier

:13:38. > :13:44.League. 0-0 between Spurs and Fulham. There's commentary of that

:13:45. > :13:47.match over on BBC Radio 5 Live. Don't forget the Grand Prix

:13:48. > :13:50.qualifying highlights coming up on BBC One. I'll be on BBC News through

:13:51. > :13:54.the afternoon with regular updates, but from all of us at the BBC Sport

:13:55. > :13:55.Centre, have a great Easter weekend, whatever sport you're watching.

:13:56. > :14:00.Goodbye.
