:00:14. > :00:19.Hello and welcome to the BBC Sport Centre.

:00:20. > :00:22.I'm Olly Foster, coming up on Saturday Sportsday we'll be live

:00:23. > :00:26.at the Tour de Yorkshire as we also reflect on a terrible week

:00:27. > :00:38.And we meet up with the wheeled Warriors.

:00:39. > :00:40.But first here are day's headlines so far...

:00:41. > :00:43.Ding Junhui has equalled the record for centuries scored by one player

:00:44. > :00:45.in a World Championship match - his sixth helped build a 14-10

:00:46. > :00:52.Mark Selby leads Marco Fu in the other semi.

:00:53. > :00:54.The Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton was quickest

:00:55. > :00:58.Qualifying for the Russian Grand Prix starts in the next 10 minutes.

:00:59. > :01:01.the World Squash Championship in Malaysia this morning.

:01:02. > :01:04.Egypt's Nour El Sherbini beat her by 3 games to 2 in Malaysia,

:01:05. > :01:10.that also knocked Massaro off the top of the world rankings.

:01:11. > :01:14.This week Team GB launched their official kit with 100 days to go

:01:15. > :01:22.to come home with plenty of medals, but this week may have

:01:23. > :01:29.of sexism and discrimination, British Cycling denied other claims

:01:30. > :01:35.that they had been selling publicly funded equipment online,

:01:36. > :01:37.then, one of their stars failed a drugs test -

:01:38. > :01:45.British cycling has been at the head of the country's sporting peloton,

:01:46. > :01:50.few saw the bumps in the road approaching. Shane Sutton the

:01:51. > :01:53.technical director of British cycling has resigned. Simon Yates is

:01:54. > :01:59.considered a rising star but has failed a drugs test. How did it

:02:00. > :02:02.start? Let's go back to last Saturday, Jessica Barnett had been

:02:03. > :02:07.dropped from the British team and accused the Australian Shane Sutton,

:02:08. > :02:12.the performance director, of sexism, claiming he told her to go and have

:02:13. > :02:31.You is accused of calling disabled cyclists

:02:32. > :02:40.gimps. I had heard it on numerous occasions. Later that day he

:02:41. > :02:43.resigned. He denies accusations but said in a statement, developments

:02:44. > :02:46.over the past few days have clearly become a distraction and it is for

:02:47. > :02:51.this reason that I believe it is in the best interests of British

:02:52. > :02:54.cycling for me to step down as technical director. He wanted the

:02:55. > :02:58.athletes to succeed and it's the right decision for him to step back

:02:59. > :03:02.and he made that decision in the best interests of the team, really.

:03:03. > :03:07.A key part of Britain's Olympic plans was gone, Sutton had been at

:03:08. > :03:12.the heart of British cycling for 14 years, its golden age. His success

:03:13. > :03:16.was undoubted, his approach divided opinion. Shane is a no-nonsense guy,

:03:17. > :03:24.but he was no-nonsense with men and women. It was the way he was and is.

:03:25. > :03:29.It works for some people and not for others. UK Sport announced an

:03:30. > :03:32.independent review into all forms of discrimination and bullying in

:03:33. > :03:37.British cycling, the spotlight is on cycling and it wasn't moving on. On

:03:38. > :03:41.Thursday UK capital of the sport ordered another investigation, this

:03:42. > :03:48.time over claims that official kit was sold online, claims denied by

:03:49. > :03:51.British Cycling. Late on Thursday night reports surfaced that

:03:52. > :03:57.potential Olympian Simon Yates failed a drugs test, his team blamed

:03:58. > :04:02.an administrative error over the use of an asthma inhaler. It is news

:04:03. > :04:07.that British cycling could have done without. With the Olympics less than

:04:08. > :04:10.100 days away, reddish cycling is looking in on itself. -- British

:04:11. > :04:12.cycling. Against that backdrop,

:04:13. > :04:15.the Tour de Yorkshire got underway yesterday 10 of thousands turning

:04:16. > :04:18.out to cheer on the elite men's road racers and today the women have

:04:19. > :04:21.raced on the same stage, Tanya Arnold is at the

:04:22. > :04:30.finish there for us. we really need some positive

:04:31. > :04:43.headlines around cycling We nearly did, though, Lucy Gardner

:04:44. > :04:51.was just pipped to the line by Kirsten Wilde from the Netherlands.

:04:52. > :04:56.Lizzie Armitstead is the world racing champion, she was in the pack

:04:57. > :05:00.at the end. She talked about her pride in this race and the quality

:05:01. > :05:04.of the race and said it was a goose pimples moment for her when she left

:05:05. > :05:09.her home town of Otley this morning on such a prestigious race. That

:05:10. > :05:13.would have been great for as many people to see as possible but

:05:14. > :05:19.because of technical difficulties it was not broadcast live on

:05:20. > :05:24.television? Absolutely awful for the organisers here. They have worked

:05:25. > :05:29.really, really hard to give the women's race as much of a boost as

:05:30. > :05:33.possible, a record prize fund of ?15,000 going to the winner, but the

:05:34. > :05:39.other plank was to get the same coverage as the men's race, to show

:05:40. > :05:42.the whole race live. But they have had horrible technical difficulties

:05:43. > :05:46.with the aeroplane that beams pictures back, one of those things

:05:47. > :05:50.totally out of their control, still working to get it fixed for the

:05:51. > :05:55.men's race, but Gary Verity from Welcome To Yorkshire who organises

:05:56. > :05:58.the race was devastated. Many thanks indeed.

:05:59. > :06:01.The best amateur boxers in England are competing at the National Finals

:06:02. > :06:05.On the bill for the first time will be a demonstration

:06:06. > :06:11.It's a new sport that is growing quickly...

:06:12. > :06:12.The Wheeled Warriors Boxing Organisation is aiming

:06:13. > :06:42.My name is Paul Rodgers and so on. I am 45 years old. I trained in karate

:06:43. > :06:47.when I was a teenager and at the age of 207I had an accident which left

:06:48. > :06:55.me disabled and I started to do a bit of boxing exercises. -- the age

:06:56. > :06:59.of 27. Most people think that it's an April fools joke, they can't

:07:00. > :07:04.imagine how it would work, it's more about positioning and agility in the

:07:05. > :07:07.chair, getting into the right position and range, that is

:07:08. > :07:11.everything, if you are not in range you will never be able to throw a

:07:12. > :07:15.punch. Doing it at an elite level fuels the lower level and if we can

:07:16. > :07:21.get it into the Paralympics it will mean that people locally will be

:07:22. > :07:25.able to get involved. We have actually built up a report in 18

:07:26. > :07:31.countries, and we would like to be an umbrella organisation. That would

:07:32. > :07:39.bring a stability of equal matching with classifications, so I would say

:07:40. > :07:43.that we have done the hard work. We just need some more small steps to

:07:44. > :07:49.get the glory at the end, that is the Paralympics. It is giving

:07:50. > :07:52.disabled people chance to compete at the same level as able-bodied

:07:53. > :07:57.people, which you can see in many sports, but boxing I feel has always

:07:58. > :08:01.been left out. If we feel comfortable with it, then really it

:08:02. > :08:04.is our right to do that. Look at this sport with your eyes open and a

:08:05. > :08:15.fresh mind, rather than your eyes closed. And a perspective that has

:08:16. > :08:19.been put into your head previously. It represents that first milestone

:08:20. > :08:25.for wheelchair boxing. The fact that I will probably be put the question

:08:26. > :08:30.in 20 years' time, it will come up time and again, I hope. Good luck to

:08:31. > :08:31.them, they are fighting tomorrow in Liverpool.

:08:32. > :08:42.Celtic can win the Scottish Premiership today. They are leading

:08:43. > :08:47.Hearts 1-0. Selby is still leading Marco Fu 11-10 in Sheffield. From

:08:48. > :08:49.everyone at the BBC Sport Centre, have a great weekend, whatever sport

:08:50. > :09:04.you are watching. Goodbye. Gareth Malone is putting together

:09:05. > :09:05.a choir... Please, come in.

:09:06. > :09:08...for the Invictus Games. It's definitely the most vulnerable

:09:09. > :09:11.group I've ever dealt with.
