:00:16. > :00:23.Super Saturday - a thrilling climax to an exhilarating season. There was

:00:24. > :00:28.something to play for in every game. Could the Ospreys claim their place

:00:29. > :00:33.at Europe's top table? Would the Scarlets have what it took to make

:00:34. > :00:48.the play-offs? Six games - more than 40 tries.

:00:49. > :00:56.How did your team perform on Super Saturday? Good evening. Welcome to

:00:57. > :01:01.the programme. We did have an exciting toned the Pro12 season.

:01:02. > :01:07.Martin Williams was here yesterday as the league table swapped and

:01:08. > :01:14.changed. Gwn Jones is with us. I will bring you the latest from

:01:15. > :01:19.various leagues and I have been to Bedlinog RFC. Two of our regions had

:01:20. > :01:22.something to play for yesterday. The Scarlets going for the semi-final

:01:23. > :01:25.spot and the Ospreys hoping to qualify for Europe. Two of them had

:01:26. > :01:37.one last shot at it. Scarlets need to gain one more than

:01:38. > :01:42.Ulster. What the Ospreys need to do is win. Ulster must do no worse than

:01:43. > :01:56.the Scarlets in Limerick. The first opportunity to get some of

:01:57. > :01:58.this early Scarlets pressure to translate into points. No problem at

:01:59. > :02:15.all. A beautiful kick through.

:02:16. > :02:23.Saili has spotted the gap. He will go under the post completely.

:02:24. > :02:30.He spotted that was on. It is a good try.

:02:31. > :02:41.Williams bursts through a tackle. Support from Shingler. Parkes gets

:02:42. > :02:45.it to Evans, who will seal a deal in the corner. This, I have got a

:02:46. > :02:55.feeling, will be something of an exciting afternoon.

:02:56. > :03:01.It did look a little forward on that... It has gone forward out of

:03:02. > :03:34.the hands. Back inside to Paddy Jackson. This

:03:35. > :03:39.is where they scored their first try from, this situation.

:03:40. > :03:46.Pienaar using the left-hand side. Best is over.

:03:47. > :03:54.And once again they have to question the Ospreys close quarter defence.

:03:55. > :03:59.Solid defence so far. There's a lot of Scarlet players sucked in around

:04:00. > :04:13.the fringeses. They keep on coming. There it is. It was an easy wriggle.

:04:14. > :04:17.There is a time for Ospreys to take a lead into half time. 14-12 is

:04:18. > :04:22.reflection of where Scarlets have been in this game. Game on a knife

:04:23. > :04:29.edge at the moment. The Ospreys have got it again. There is the line...

:04:30. > :04:35.Webb fails to come to this blindside and takes it on his own. Smith

:04:36. > :04:41.acting as the emergency scrum-half. Matavesi and he's there. Josh

:04:42. > :04:49.Matavesi and the Ospreys are rewarded for their persistence.

:04:50. > :04:57.Webb with a dink over the top. Trimble takes it. Trimble's ahead.

:04:58. > :05:05.Trimble got a boost. Incredibly he's into the 22. Can Webb catch him? Out

:05:06. > :05:08.of the blue Andrew Trimble and that is an absolute hammer blow for the

:05:09. > :05:30.Ospreys so close to half time. That was well played.

:05:31. > :05:37.I don't think Parkes was expecting that.

:05:38. > :05:42.O'Mahony, and if the Scarlets cannot do it for themselves they are doing

:05:43. > :05:50.it for Munster. It would be hard enough to imagine the rugby without

:05:51. > :05:57.not having a try at some point. That's a try.

:05:58. > :06:02.Oh, he's going to go... Way over... That was the easiest try. Scannell's

:06:03. > :06:06.second of the day. It gives you an indication of how tired and how long

:06:07. > :06:13.this season has been for the Scarlets.

:06:14. > :06:20.And now it is the Ospreys having to defend on their own line. The

:06:21. > :06:26.Ospreys have at least got the possession.

:06:27. > :06:31.In goes Chris Henry... They have been their own worst enemies at the

:06:32. > :06:40.moment, Ospreys. Just before half time that try from Ulster, superb

:06:41. > :06:46.today. Sam Davis, up to the 22. Grabham to the corner. Did he get

:06:47. > :06:55.the ball down? He's all right there. That's a great finish. Pienaar takes

:06:56. > :07:04.it... He is looking for the wrap around. Golding. How easy was that?

:07:05. > :07:12.It was Madame Tussaud's defence which the Ospreys. Ospreys not

:07:13. > :07:19.giving up yet. Sam Davis and here is Grabham with the walk-in. A second

:07:20. > :07:30.try for the Ospreys from Grabham and a bonus point as well.

:07:31. > :07:41.Still the Ulster forwards twant to get involved as well. -- want to get

:07:42. > :07:50.involved as well. And here's Franco Van Der Merwe.

:07:51. > :08:02.The Ospreys mistakes today have handed Ulster this on a plate. Their

:08:03. > :08:06.European Cup hopes are gone. 31-15, the Scarlets have been

:08:07. > :08:11.defeated and the Scarlets find themselves out of the play-offs, but

:08:12. > :08:15.they are in the champion's Cup. The season is over.

:08:16. > :08:21.Two disappointing defeats for the Scarlets and the Ospreys on the

:08:22. > :08:25.final day of the regular season and that defeat meant the Scarlets'

:08:26. > :08:31.result was academic in terms of getting into the top four. We start

:08:32. > :08:35.with the Ospreys. 13 years of regional rugby they will not be in

:08:36. > :08:44.the champion's Cup. That will hurt, wobt it? -- won't it? As players

:08:45. > :08:48.when you know champion's Cups games and the Challenge Cup is not the

:08:49. > :08:53.same. Dan Biggar and Dan Webb who thrive

:08:54. > :09:00.on the big matches they will not be in them in the Champion's Cup. When

:09:01. > :09:04.you look at Clare month and bore due, to come one game of getting the

:09:05. > :09:12.Cup they punched above their weight there. However you try and, you

:09:13. > :09:16.know, paper over the cracks, it is a disappointment not to be in the top

:09:17. > :09:22.six. Is it as big a deal as a lot are making it out to be. They can

:09:23. > :09:26.win the Challenge Cup. The money Ospreys get is the same in both

:09:27. > :09:34.tournaments. If you think of the teams they may be up against, maybe

:09:35. > :09:39.Bath or Gloucester, they are good Anglo--Welsh Derbies which will

:09:40. > :09:43.bring people to the gates. Selling the Ospreys commercially at the top

:09:44. > :09:47.table of European matches as they have been. Apart from this season

:09:48. > :09:52.they have not made much of an impact in Europe in the champion's Cup for

:09:53. > :09:57.some time, really. And certainly not, we talked about, what is this

:09:58. > :10:02.their year? Will they win it? They haven't. They are in a competition

:10:03. > :10:06.where some of the other sides may not put a lot of priority to it

:10:07. > :10:12.initially. Once they get through, who knows, they might be able to win

:10:13. > :10:17.it. Financially they don't do it. We talked about whether this might stop

:10:18. > :10:20.some big flames coming to the club because they are not involved in

:10:21. > :10:24.European matches. I don't think it is a big consideration. Most of the

:10:25. > :10:30.guys will come over to play in Europe. You don't think this,

:10:31. > :10:35.Martin, will necessarily halt their recruitment charges - people will

:10:36. > :10:39.they are not on the European Cup, I don't want to go there? One or two

:10:40. > :10:43.might get picked up over the summer. Most of the deals are done before

:10:44. > :10:49.Christmas or just after Christmas for next year. For me, I think the

:10:50. > :10:53.Ospreys, this is just a blip. They start of the season - it killed

:10:54. > :10:58.them, they have been chasing the season ever since. We know with the

:10:59. > :11:03.Ospreys, when they have all their stars playing they are one of the

:11:04. > :11:09.best sides in the league. It is a blow to the ego and Motoationally it

:11:10. > :11:15.will be difficult. Do they really go for the Challenge

:11:16. > :11:18.Cup or do they concentrate in getting into the top six in the

:11:19. > :11:23.league? Welsh regions don't have the squads big enough to try and compete

:11:24. > :11:28.in both. I think it is a bit of a myth that we are signing players

:11:29. > :11:32.which might help our region become European champions. We are nowhere

:11:33. > :11:38.near that. When you look at the likes of foreign players we do sign,

:11:39. > :11:40.I don't think they come to win the Heineken Cup to the Ospreys, they

:11:41. > :11:47.came because they had an opportunity to play. They are fine players and

:11:48. > :11:51.wanted to better themselves. It was not Conrad Smith you play to get you

:11:52. > :11:59.over the match. You look across the Pro12 and there are a very few top

:12:00. > :12:02.quality international stars. Just finished the World Cup over being

:12:03. > :12:06.tempted to play in our league. It is a problem for Wales. We are not

:12:07. > :12:11.going for the high echelon of stars anyway. I don't think it will make

:12:12. > :12:16.any impact to their recruitment. What of the Scarlets then? They are

:12:17. > :12:24.the sole representatives in the Cup. It could have been more for them

:12:25. > :12:28.this season? It is a glass half full way of looking ate it. -- looking at

:12:29. > :12:32.it. Whether they would have gone on to

:12:33. > :12:36.win, I don't know. Some good sides in that top four. When you look back

:12:37. > :12:42.and probably the turning point of the season was the Ospreys game, you

:12:43. > :12:46.think they have won at the Liberty, the first they have beaten the

:12:47. > :12:51.Ospreys in I don't know how long. I backed them for a semi-final. Didn't

:12:52. > :12:56.back it up, the week after the Blues games they got outplayed by the

:12:57. > :13:01.Blues. It has been positive for the Scarlets up to the last two or three

:13:02. > :13:04.weeks. I would be disappointed if I was the fans, supporters, management

:13:05. > :13:11.they haven't got. Another game for the season left.

:13:12. > :13:17.They have won a few with the last kick of the ball, but lost a few.

:13:18. > :13:22.They have not looked dominant, then the wheels came off back row over

:13:23. > :13:28.Christmas, they were stuffed by Glasgow and bounced back to some

:13:29. > :13:32.extent, in some of the games, they beat the Ospreys at the Liberty

:13:33. > :13:37.Stadium, but in crucial matches they were not at the races. They have

:13:38. > :13:40.been inconsistent but far better than we expected to be and finished

:13:41. > :13:58.top in the Welsh region. They would have been happy with that

:13:59. > :14:02.at the start of the season but the league does not like, you sit where

:14:03. > :14:04.you are because of the inconsistencies. If they had got

:14:05. > :14:07.through to the last four, they would have beaten them anyway. They should

:14:08. > :14:09.be pleased with their season. Other things have affected performances,

:14:10. > :14:11.but Shane Williams said it is the worst season for regional rugby

:14:12. > :14:16.since it began, would you go along with that? I would. The league table

:14:17. > :14:20.does not lie. Statistics show, there were glimpses, I think the Ospreys

:14:21. > :14:25.did well in the Champions Cup, the Dragons got to the semi-finals, but

:14:26. > :14:28.all in all, to have one team in the Champions Cup, that is

:14:29. > :14:33.disappointing, I would not argue with Shane, it probably is the worst

:14:34. > :14:42.year of regional rugby since it began. The, we will have one team in

:14:43. > :14:47.the World Cup, that when by Ulster over the Ospreys secured them a

:14:48. > :14:56.semifinal spot, let us find out how the other top four contenders got

:14:57. > :15:01.on. There was a battle between the top two sides as Galway were the

:15:02. > :15:10.winners of this match securing that all-important home semifinal

:15:11. > :15:14.play-off in a fortnight's time. 22-macro edging closer to the

:15:15. > :15:22.Glasgow line. They have reset themselves -- Connacht. Try for

:15:23. > :15:33.Connacht. Johnny Gray, the Glasgow captain

:15:34. > :15:42.making those precious few extra yards. Try in sight for the Glasgow

:15:43. > :15:47.Warriors. Whether they keep it tight, they keep it tight and the

:15:48. > :15:49.loosehead bundles over, the equalising try for Glasgow, they are

:15:50. > :16:02.back in the game. Muldowney in the middle of the

:16:03. > :16:09.line-out. It is a bit of a melee, at that loose with the boot, Muldowney,

:16:10. > :16:16.he recklessly comes through and the big tight head prop could be in

:16:17. > :16:26.trouble. The referee left with no option there. Red card, Glasgow are

:16:27. > :16:40.a mile down for this final half-hour. -- man. A close rumble,

:16:41. > :16:50.it goes out to Shane O Leary, and that is tried for O'Halloran. -- a

:16:51. > :16:56.try. Leinster went into this game knowing a bonus point win that could

:16:57. > :16:59.be enough to guarantee them a home semifinal while Treviso needed a win

:17:00. > :17:03.to secure the only Italian spot in the Champions Cup. The parish ran

:17:04. > :17:09.away with the full five points, Johnny Sexton crossing for the first

:17:10. > :17:13.of three tries as they took a lead at half-time. Leinster secured the

:17:14. > :17:20.bonus point before the Italians even got on the scoreboard as they were

:17:21. > :17:26.blown away by the Irish, Ringrose ran in the final try. A

:17:27. > :17:30.comprehensive win for Leinster. An interesting one between Glasgow and

:17:31. > :17:35.Connacht. The rise of Connacht has been remarkable and all season, some

:17:36. > :17:39.of the more cynical spectators have expected them to drop down the

:17:40. > :17:45.table. What do you tribute their form to? It is like the Leicester

:17:46. > :17:50.City story. A combination of things, the World Cup played a part, they do

:17:51. > :17:55.not lose so many players. The fact they have this unique ground, a

:17:56. > :18:00.howling gale every time they play, requires a different attitude and

:18:01. > :18:08.they are used to that. They have an innovative coach, they recruited

:18:09. > :18:10.strategically well in certain positions. They have developed well,

:18:11. > :18:14.Henshaw is one of their own products. The way they play, when

:18:15. > :18:19.you look at the statistics, they passed the ball more than anyone,

:18:20. > :18:22.kept the ball, recycled the ball, perhaps a product of plane into the

:18:23. > :18:28.wind a lot, they gained confidence, they play, keep the ball in hand and

:18:29. > :18:34.they have beaten the Glasgow in a game they wanted to win and that

:18:35. > :18:37.shows how far they have come. Glasgow are almost the opposite,

:18:38. > :18:42.they lost two players to the World Cup and in the Six Nations, Glasgow

:18:43. > :18:46.on the other hand lose more players than any team in the lake and they

:18:47. > :18:52.suffered during the international periods, but they have the class to

:18:53. > :19:06.search, the won nine games in a row. They are a quality outfit. What

:19:07. > :19:08.helps Glasgow, there are only two teams in Scotland, all resources are

:19:09. > :19:13.pumped their way. They recruited smartly, some real gems. That is the

:19:14. > :19:17.frustrating thing, when you look at the team sheet of Connacht and

:19:18. > :19:22.Glasgow compared to the Scarlets or the Ospreys or Cardiff Blues, the

:19:23. > :19:26.players are not better, so that is frustrating for the fans, why are

:19:27. > :19:31.the regions not getting to the heights of Glasgow and Connacht. The

:19:32. > :19:40.World Cup has helped Connacht. I think Glasgow, they are quality

:19:41. > :19:43.outfit. It is baffling, Glasgow have won so many against Wales

:19:44. > :19:49.opposition. The top four-week know has been settled, who will win it? I

:19:50. > :19:57.think Glasgow are the best side and on a surge. We will see. Ulster

:19:58. > :20:03.looked pretty good yesterday, a quality game against the Ospreys.

:20:04. > :20:08.They will fancy it. It is open but I will put my pound for what it is

:20:09. > :20:14.worth of Glasgow. I said Leinster and I will stick with them. They

:20:15. > :20:19.have a lot of experience. Home semifinal against Ulster, I think

:20:20. > :20:22.Leinster. The Blues and the Dragons had nothing to play for yesterday

:20:23. > :20:24.but you can be sure that both wanted to end their campaigns with a

:20:25. > :20:35.victory. Edinburgh needed a win to stand any

:20:36. > :20:37.chance of qualifying for the Champions Cup and enjoyed an early

:20:38. > :20:48.lead before the Blues took control. Ember are trying desperately to keep

:20:49. > :20:55.it on the field of play, they have done that through Watson. He has

:20:56. > :21:06.done well. Driven on, on the fringes. By the big men up front.

:21:07. > :21:19.Again the return ball. Lovely off-load to Watson. It is first

:21:20. > :21:27.blood to Edinburgh. Out from the base, as they line up out wide. He

:21:28. > :21:39.is dangerous with his feet. The gaps appear and it easy duck down for the

:21:40. > :21:53.Scottish international Matt Scott. Am scum, allowed on the far side. --

:21:54. > :22:00.Anscombe. The first try for the Blues. Again they win back

:22:01. > :22:12.possession, this could be awkward. It is going to be a try. It is Tom

:22:13. > :22:20.Brown who has got the touchdown. As to the far side, Anscombe is well

:22:21. > :22:33.marshalled. He did well to get it back to 38. Straight through, the

:22:34. > :22:45.Blues. -- Lee-Lo. Dolan gets the all important touchdown. He stretches

:22:46. > :22:47.his legs, streaming through, he is on the inside bowl, it has not gone

:22:48. > :23:05.forward. Smith goes over. With nine consecutive Pro12 12

:23:06. > :23:09.defeats, Dragons had seven changes. They travelled to bottom of the

:23:10. > :23:14.table 75 back row. The Welsh region looking to end on a positive note

:23:15. > :23:24.that the Italians had it all to play for -- Zebre. The visitors took an

:23:25. > :23:30.early lead but the home side hit back as Van Zyl crossed for the

:23:31. > :23:39.second converted try of the day. Down at half-time, the coach rang in

:23:40. > :23:43.the changes for the Dragons. 30 six crossed for the first try for the

:23:44. > :23:57.Dragons. The Italians then showed that they were able to play with

:23:58. > :24:07.flair and freedom -- Landman. Five conversions and four penalties.

:24:08. > :24:21.There was more to come from Zebre as 29-macro ran in their fifth try.

:24:22. > :24:26.Landman got his second try -- Haimona. No Welsh region has made it

:24:27. > :24:30.to the semi-finals this year. The other three will compete in the

:24:31. > :24:41.Challenge Cup next season. Leinster will be home to Ulster on the 20th

:24:42. > :24:51.of May,. Pretty depressing afternoon for the Dragons. They have now lost

:24:52. > :24:58.their last ten Pro12 12 games in a row. How can they go from coming

:24:59. > :25:02.within ten points of a team like a Montpelier to that? That was a sign

:25:03. > :25:06.that they were not at their strongest. They put all their effort

:25:07. > :25:12.into the four games prior to this, this was an end of term atmosphere.

:25:13. > :25:17.Some of them were already on the beach. These things happen from time

:25:18. > :25:21.to time, that was hugely disappointing. There was a lot going

:25:22. > :25:26.on in the region at the moment. Perhaps they took their eye from the

:25:27. > :25:36.ball. That is disappointing to end the season like that. Kingsley Jones

:25:37. > :25:41.is in temporary charge, there has been some calls perhaps for Nigel

:25:42. > :25:45.Davies to come in as director of rugby. He knows the region, is that

:25:46. > :25:53.the right kind of appointment for you? I am not sure. The Blues did

:25:54. > :26:03.that with Danny Wilson, the cost had done it, I would see a young guy

:26:04. > :26:08.given the role, they cannot afford a big-name, just to shake it up, come

:26:09. > :26:12.from the outside, an Australian or someone from New Zealand to shake

:26:13. > :26:19.the place up and give them a lift, it is a difficult period for the

:26:20. > :26:22.Dragons, they need to make a decision. He would probably want to

:26:23. > :26:27.bring in his own coaching team, the board at the Dragons have to make

:26:28. > :26:35.that decision. What about the Blues? It was a bizarre game. And Brown

:26:36. > :26:48.were totally dominant. The Blues just surged back in -- Edinburgh.

:26:49. > :26:54.They could have rolled over. They did not show great character. It was

:26:55. > :26:58.a really positive end to what has been a positive end to the season,

:26:59. > :27:03.since Christmas, they have turned a corner, gone from winning five games

:27:04. > :27:07.last season to winning 11 this year, a huge improvement for Danny Wilson.

:27:08. > :27:13.Exciting times for the Blues, they recruited well for next season. For

:27:14. > :27:19.once, in a long time, they're making good strides. One thing that is

:27:20. > :27:24.functioning well is their attack, only Glasgow have scored more tries.

:27:25. > :27:29.Their defence, still a bit soft around the fringes, is that what

:27:30. > :27:36.they need to work on? I am sure they will. Danny is a details man. Gethin

:27:37. > :27:44.does some defensive work with them and he is a hard task masters. They

:27:45. > :27:47.will do something. -- taskmaster. The extra leadership role, some of

:27:48. > :27:50.the senior professionals are probably taking that on this season

:27:51. > :27:55.and that is probably because they believe in the coach and can see a

:27:56. > :27:58.way forward where is in the last few years, the international players

:27:59. > :28:02.have said we will play with the Blues but we are not invested

:28:03. > :28:13.emotionally. Now you can see these guys wanting to make a difference.

:28:14. > :28:17.If your best players are doing that, it is only good for the rest of the

:28:18. > :28:19.youngsters coming through and it gives a sense of purpose for

:28:20. > :28:29.everyone when they are training and playing.

:28:30. > :28:38.It's, with all due respect Zebre will not make any impact in the

:28:39. > :28:43.champion's Cup next year at all. People might argue the Scarlets

:28:44. > :28:47.didn't. If one is finishing seventh and the other 11th and they get in

:28:48. > :28:52.above you, it doesn't seem right at all. We will talk about Wales and

:28:53. > :28:59.the looming tour to New Zealand in a few moments. News of a very special

:29:00. > :29:03.mascot. You may have noticed that Leicester City, nicknamed the Foxes

:29:04. > :29:08.have been in the news, following their remarkable season, winning

:29:09. > :29:14.football's Premier League, motivated by their popular manager. There is a

:29:15. > :29:19.Welsh rugby club known as the Foxes, who have had the season of their

:29:20. > :29:22.lives, but their team talks are done by an unexpected member of the club.

:29:23. > :29:33.Yesterday, I went along to meet them.

:29:34. > :29:40.Hi Hi, here sits the village of Bedlinog. Many believe it means the

:29:41. > :29:45.fox's grave and the team's name is the "Foxes. It was founded in 1971.

:29:46. > :29:51.Since then they have made their way up the various leagues. Now in

:29:52. > :30:02.Division One, they are this champion's. Last week they won the

:30:03. > :30:09.Swalec Cup with a last gasp kick. Liam Jones has done it. Bedlinog are

:30:10. > :30:17.the champions. One person celebrating the win was

:30:18. > :30:22.six-year-old Rhys Jones who delivers the prematch talks and his dad is

:30:23. > :30:28.the back coach. Tell me how the season has gone for them? Quite

:30:29. > :30:35.good. They are winning lots of games. Will you be a Bedlinog player

:30:36. > :30:43.in the future? Yes. I think you will be the captain, I am sure. What will

:30:44. > :30:50.you tell them this afternoon? We can just win.

:30:51. > :30:53.Pass then run. Whoever is last and score a try, because you are

:30:54. > :30:58.powerful. Those at the back.

:30:59. > :31:12.Squeeze them through. One, two, three... Squeeze.

:31:13. > :31:16.They will play in the final of the Glamorgan golden ball. Today they

:31:17. > :31:19.face Leicester. Why do you think Bedlinog and the players are so

:31:20. > :31:25.willing to play for this club? What makes it special? It is the village

:31:26. > :31:29.itself and that sort of gives the players something extra, I think. We

:31:30. > :31:34.have players from all over the borough playing for us. It is not

:31:35. > :31:38.just Bedlinog players. They have come aboard - part of the family,

:31:39. > :31:41.the bonding and the way they play together on the field and how they

:31:42. > :31:48.react together off the field as well. Winners of the division or

:31:49. > :31:52.not, they were not letting the Foxes have it their own way. You must be a

:31:53. > :31:58.happy coach when you look at what you have achieved? We have probably

:31:59. > :32:03.picked the worse day to play. We look tired, but take it, if we win

:32:04. > :32:09.today it is an open Derby and cap the season off with a win. Hero of

:32:10. > :32:13.last weekend Liam Jones took the foxed back in the lead on the stroke

:32:14. > :32:17.of half time. We have come from division seven all the way to

:32:18. > :32:22.Division One and we're in the championship, which is every club's

:32:23. > :32:26.dream. In a village of less than 3,000 people it is a massive

:32:27. > :32:30.achievement. People said we couldn't go to the

:32:31. > :32:34.championship at the beginning of last year, I knew with the squad of

:32:35. > :32:38.players we had w the experience, we were good enough to get there all

:32:39. > :32:42.day long. We will do well in the championship next year. I think we

:32:43. > :32:47.can compete at that level - no problem at all. He's a team mascot

:32:48. > :32:51.every game. First nt the shower every game, last

:32:52. > :33:00.out of the shower. He comes on half time. He has Fa cakes, he goes

:33:01. > :33:04.around the supporters selling them. Three penalties had taken Nelson

:33:05. > :33:10.into the lead and then the Foxes drags themselves back to even the

:33:11. > :33:17.score. Liam Jones had a chance to snatch an unexpected victory. Local

:33:18. > :33:23.bragging rights - and time to celebrate being champions of the

:33:24. > :33:31.league. A squeeze... One, two, three...

:33:32. > :33:35.Thank you for the warm welcome we had at Bedlinog RFC and to the

:33:36. > :33:39.President for giving me one of the club's badges. Congratulations on

:33:40. > :33:48.securing promotion to the championship and as well to the

:33:49. > :33:55.Swalec other teams. Now to the Principality and the semi-final

:33:56. > :34:03.kicked off between the Swalec Cup winners Landovery and Ebbw Vale.

:34:04. > :34:08.And this is catch and kinds territory. It is the lineout and it

:34:09. > :34:13.is Ronnie Kinds in the back steering. In his words they put all

:34:14. > :34:25.the ugly ones at the front to push and he will get the glory again.

:34:26. > :34:35.He's done it for Ebbw Vale. Maynard's exit taken by Dan Heyman.

:34:36. > :34:37.That is an outrageous by Heyman. He has support from Rosser. What a

:34:38. > :34:53.score. Luke Lewis, taken by grif grif.

:34:54. > :35:00.-- Griffiths. Miles has broken off and the flanker

:35:01. > :35:05.has sneaked over, on the blind. Waddle. Can he make the line? Is he

:35:06. > :35:10.held up? That would have been a miraculous

:35:11. > :35:18.tackle if he could have pulled that off. Let's look. He wrapped himself

:35:19. > :35:22.around and under and that's no try. Miles scored one from a similar

:35:23. > :35:26.situation. And there's plenty of bump and grind

:35:27. > :35:36.from Landovery for this one and they are over as well.

:35:37. > :35:43.That's it. Ebbw Vale are in the final.

:35:44. > :36:03.And Ebbw Vale will meet Pontypridd next Sunday. And

:36:04. > :36:11.Well, Martin, you will be there - Ebbw Vale the visitors against

:36:12. > :36:15.Pontypridd, how do you see that going? Pontypridd will be

:36:16. > :36:19.disapointeded they didn't get to the cup final. It takes an effort to go

:36:20. > :36:25.there and beat them. They have won the last four seasons. This will be

:36:26. > :36:28.the fifth season in the row. Ebbw Vale have done brilliant the last

:36:29. > :36:32.two seasons. They will be partying up there.

:36:33. > :36:39.Enjoy it. We will look forward it to. A couple of extra bits of news

:36:40. > :36:43.to you and good luck to Mike Phillips who announced he will play

:36:44. > :36:49.with Sale Sharks in England next season. And many, many

:36:50. > :36:53.congratulations to Derek Bevan on a remarkable career which came to an

:36:54. > :36:58.end yesterday. We all wish you a very, very happy retirement.

:36:59. > :37:07.Congratulations to Derek and to Mike as well. What a legend Bevan is. Now

:37:08. > :37:10.the tour to New Zealand is looming. Warren Gatland wicks his squad this

:37:11. > :37:16.week. It -- picks his squad this week. We went to meet one of the

:37:17. > :37:20.quieter members of the Welsh squad. Some players have a habit of going

:37:21. > :37:25.unnoticed. This guy has played more than 130

:37:26. > :37:30.times for his region, but has always avoided the glare of publicity.

:37:31. > :37:36.# Who are you # Who, who, who

:37:37. > :37:44.# Who are you... A fixture in the Welsh squad since 2013 he can play

:37:45. > :37:47.anywhere in the back pack. He will be on the plane to New Zealand next

:37:48. > :37:52.month. James, it seems you have been around

:37:53. > :37:58.for quite some time now. Still your profile is fairly low. You are kind

:37:59. > :38:06.of under the radar. If you google James King you get a picture of a

:38:07. > :38:14.female model. Is that how you like - to be out of the radar? . I e-Ied

:38:15. > :38:19.about 103 games. I am happy to -- I played about 103 games. Born in

:38:20. > :38:24.Australia, English parents - you were eligible before you played test

:38:25. > :38:29.rugby for all three countries. Was there a danger you would pick any of

:38:30. > :38:34.the other two? I consider myself Wales. My schooling was done in

:38:35. > :38:40.North Wales. All my rugby was in the North Wales as well. I went to

:38:41. > :38:44.school in Ellesmere. There was another sport you were interested in

:38:45. > :38:53.before? I used to be a keen tennis player. I went quite far with that.

:38:54. > :38:58.. Talking about playing rugby with my friends and we went to mould

:38:59. > :39:03.rugby club. Something told me your mode of transport for the first year

:39:04. > :39:08.was a moped. It is true. I was living with Johnnie and I didn't

:39:09. > :39:14.have a way to get to training and didn't think of the logistics none

:39:15. > :39:18.of us had a driving licence. I had a scooter which got stolen three

:39:19. > :39:24.times. Not just by random people, I found it in the skip one day.

:39:25. > :39:28.Judgment day, you mention a fantastic occasion - a hum dinninger

:39:29. > :39:32.of a game and you walked away with the Man of the Match award? It was

:39:33. > :39:37.nice to get it. To get that was special for me. You talked about the

:39:38. > :39:40.length and time being in the Ospreys, it is a highly competitive

:39:41. > :39:50.environment, you look at the back row. You have mentioned Olly

:39:51. > :39:54.Cracknell, Liddiate and your good self, does that inspire you to great

:39:55. > :40:00.heights, or do you think sometimes I wish there were not so many guys

:40:01. > :40:04.competing for the same shirt? In the academy we signed a new back rower

:40:05. > :40:12.every week. It keeps you on our toes. You can never rest. We have

:40:13. > :40:18.Under hill and Cracknell they have had Man of the Match awards

:40:19. > :40:23.themselves. They had a conversation and said how old are you? There was

:40:24. > :40:27.nearly 20 years between them. It shows whatever age people are there

:40:28. > :40:31.are people pushing behind you. You can never take your foot off the

:40:32. > :40:34.burner, because you have to train the next day and you won't be

:40:35. > :40:40.picked. There is something looming on the

:40:41. > :40:44.near horizon - a tour to ne Zealand, the double world champions, Jamie

:40:45. > :40:49.Roberts was on Scrum V the other week and he said it is a tour you

:40:50. > :40:53.approach with excitement and trepidation. Is that how you feel

:40:54. > :41:00.about it? To be picked Vy for the league. If I go on that tour it is a

:41:01. > :41:04.tour of a lifetime. We have come painstakingly close to beating the

:41:05. > :41:09.All Blacks a few times. If we won a test out there I think the whole of

:41:10. > :41:14.Wales would go and party or a bank holiday would be made. To win a test

:41:15. > :41:17.out there would be brilliant. I have taken the liberty to speak to a

:41:18. > :41:23.couple of your team-mates and asked them to describe you in one word.

:41:24. > :41:31.The word which came up the most was "tiethd." I would say -- was

:41:32. > :41:35."tight." I would say careful. Once you pig by backed on your

:41:36. > :41:39.neighbour's Internet for a couple of months before they found out. I

:41:40. > :41:47.moved in, they had a password on it and they didn't change their admin

:41:48. > :41:53.password. Their router went down and I restarted it and took the liberty

:41:54. > :41:57.until I got my installed. Keen to dispel the rumours of being tight

:41:58. > :41:59.with his cash, once the interview was over James insisted on taking me

:42:00. > :42:16.for a coffee. Thank you very much. Excuse me, mate, James is going to

:42:17. > :42:21.take care of that. Unbelievable! He did pay, really. Those rumours

:42:22. > :42:26.are harsh and unfonded. A top bloke. Very much under the radar and we

:42:27. > :42:33.talked about his versatility as well. He plays anywhere in the back

:42:34. > :42:37.five. Is that a bonus or a handicap? In his case it has given him the

:42:38. > :42:41.opportunity to be on benches and squads. If you are going to be a

:42:42. > :42:44.starting player in a Test match in the starting or second row, you have

:42:45. > :42:53.to have something about you in which you impact the game. You stro be a

:42:54. > :42:57.good carrier, have to bring something unique. He's very

:42:58. > :43:01.consistent. He's the modern professional. Extremely fit, well

:43:02. > :43:05.prepared and dedicated. To make that extra step to be a regular starter

:43:06. > :43:10.he's got to have something about him and I think he probably lacks that.

:43:11. > :43:16.Back row is where there's one vacancy. We know Jason Tiperick will

:43:17. > :43:27.not be there. What's no pole position?

:43:28. > :43:36.It is a toss-up between Jenkins and Davis. Jenkins had a fantastic end

:43:37. > :43:42.of season. He is a similar player to Sam Warburton. I would give James

:43:43. > :43:48.Davies a go. Over a 12 month period he has been so consistent, brings

:43:49. > :43:55.more of an attacking threat and he deserves to be in that 37 man squad

:43:56. > :44:06.for that side. Another one who I was impressed with was Rory Cracknell.

:44:07. > :44:10.Ross Moriarty was superb, but Cracknell looks like a real find. A

:44:11. > :44:15.lot of options in the back row, some headaches for Warren Gatland. We

:44:16. > :44:19.looked at the squad earlier, and you cannot see many coming or going

:44:20. > :44:26.really. Scott Williams would come in if he is fit, they will tinker with

:44:27. > :44:30.a few others, the wing looks a little bit weak, not sure who will

:44:31. > :44:36.play there, whether Leigh Halfpenny will be there, we do not know. I do

:44:37. > :44:41.not think there will be any great surprises, no one can really think

:44:42. > :44:47.at the moment. I personally like Sam Davies, I think he is the best

:44:48. > :44:52.attacking ten in Wales, he puts it through the hands beautifully. Who

:44:53. > :44:58.should go? I do not think he will go, but if we could take three

:44:59. > :45:02.terms, one eye on the future, he would be someone I would seriously

:45:03. > :45:07.consider. Briefly, this England game coming up, for many people, and

:45:08. > :45:11.unnecessary game, but given that none of the regions got through to

:45:12. > :45:17.the latter stages of the Pro12 12, it is essential. Mixed feelings.

:45:18. > :45:22.Wales against England is special. I did not agree with that, but when

:45:23. > :45:26.you look at it, if that game was not there, most of the Welsh players

:45:27. > :45:37.would have to wait five weeks and hit the field running against New

:45:38. > :45:39.Zealand. That England game has become very important for Warren

:45:40. > :45:42.Gatland and his team. I think you should go for the strongest team,

:45:43. > :45:45.the last few years, the first test on any tour we have struggled. If we

:45:46. > :45:51.can use that game as part of the tour really and field are strongest

:45:52. > :45:56.15... England are missing players. If Saracens are playing the day

:45:57. > :46:01.before, half their pack is missing and we can go to Twickenham and then

:46:02. > :46:06.face New Zealand with confidence. That is all we have got time for,

:46:07. > :46:11.thank you to my guests and it is the final weekend of the road 12

:46:12. > :46:15.regular-season and unfortunately it is the final weekend for the Welsh

:46:16. > :46:23.regions and this is a good time to look back at the best bets. Good

:46:24. > :46:33.night. Top of the props, built for comfort and speed and that is where

:46:34. > :46:41.else is Megan York. There was Pete the meat dishing out a dummy and the

:46:42. > :46:49.delicious de Vrij gain. Clubman of the year, he replayed every minute

:46:50. > :46:57.of every game. As for superstars, Stuart Hogg the limelight for

:46:58. > :47:03.Glasgow. Can he get the bounce? N! This man had at night for scoring

:47:04. > :47:15.tries. He is like stretch Armstrong and Inspector Gadget rolled into

:47:16. > :47:25.one. Bundy jumped into the picture. For the magic moments, there was

:47:26. > :47:33.marvellous Matavesi. Bernardo. Regal Regan. He was like a father to one

:47:34. > :47:37.young Scarlett. Talk about defensive... Is that a difficult

:47:38. > :47:44.line to straddle the then made on the one hand and someone's boss on

:47:45. > :47:50.the other. No. Australia up next, do you think... But one over them?

:47:51. > :48:00.Otherwise we are out of the World Cup. Tough day. Tough day, yes. The

:48:01. > :48:12.youngsters, Owen Watkin. Sam Arnold hell. And another Moriarty. Top

:48:13. > :48:25.team, the Wales under 20s Grand Slam is. Best referee, World Cup final,

:48:26. > :48:34.say no more. Do not forget the post man. And the one who went down like

:48:35. > :48:41.a badly packed parachute. Shame, that shirt! You think you will get

:48:42. > :48:45.away with that? I was hoping you did not see it. Even at five foot seven,

:48:46. > :48:56.he is still big in Japan. And a World Cup win over England, it

:48:57. > :48:59.is always a scream.
