:00:22. > :00:30.It is crunch time in the profession macro. It has been a bad weekend

:00:30. > :00:38.for the champions. That tribal give Glasgow a bonus point. And they

:01:05. > :01:11.London Welsh reflect on a traumatic season. To have five points

:01:11. > :01:17.sanctioned was a big blow. Welcome to Scrum V. There may well be one

:01:17. > :01:24.more twist in this play-off race. Jonathan Davies and Kingsley Jones

:01:24. > :01:34.are here to assess play. We will start with Friday night's clash

:01:34. > :01:39.

:06:24. > :06:33.fight hard and try to get back into the gum. They are bitterly

:06:33. > :06:43.disappointed. Meanwhile, back in South Wales, to room-mates were

:07:07. > :07:15.I am reading and he would leave me alone. He has asked a couple of

:07:15. > :07:22.questions, but his medical knowledge is limited. There is a

:07:22. > :07:32.lot of banter amongst the boys. However, you have to make sure you

:07:32. > :07:39.

:07:39. > :07:42.concentrate on the game and deliver the right result for the Scarlets.

:09:35. > :10:35.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 65 seconds

:10:35. > :10:45.Blues could not finish it off. A got a second try! That could be the

:10:45. > :11:05.

:11:05. > :11:15.try that heads the Scarlets towards the middle. It is a triumph for

:11:15. > :11:15.

:11:15. > :11:20.Scarlets! A little bit nervous, but it was all about winning. We did

:11:20. > :11:25.not talk about it before the game, but in the back of our minds, we

:11:25. > :11:35.knew we had a golden opportunity to take another step towards the play-

:11:35. > :11:48.

:11:48. > :11:54.offs. This is how the top half of Over the course of the season,

:11:54. > :12:04.Ospreys were the meanest. They conceded five on Friday. Were they

:12:04. > :12:07.

:12:07. > :12:11.are bad, are or were Glasgow just too good? Glasgow were really good.

:12:11. > :12:21.They have been aggressive in their defence, the Ospreys. For some

:12:21. > :12:24.

:12:25. > :12:32.reason, they were passive on Friday. Glasgow took advantage of that.

:12:32. > :12:42.There are three off loads there. It is one of those things where it was

:12:42. > :12:43.

:12:43. > :12:49.just strange to see that happen again. I think Jones misses again.

:12:49. > :12:53.Those attacks, you don't usually see the Ospreys miss. You do have

:12:53. > :13:03.to give credit to Glasgow though. They have gone about their business

:13:03. > :13:04.

:13:04. > :13:11.quite be all season. They have built a confidence to throw the

:13:11. > :13:21.ball about. They all chip in. It was strange though. Even the line-

:13:21. > :13:21.

:13:21. > :13:29.out fell to pieces. They had opportunities. One line-out goes

:13:29. > :13:37.astray and then the same again. Not only in the line-out, again at the

:13:37. > :13:47.meat inside the Glasgow 22. They were all very poor. All of the

:13:47. > :13:52.scrums as well. They are usually so powerful. That is their platform.

:13:52. > :14:02.It was as if they said, it has been a long season and we have given it

:14:02. > :14:04.

:14:04. > :14:13.our best shot. Unfortunately, it was not good enough. Between the

:14:13. > :14:19.Scarlets and Cardiff Blues, the Scarlets have won most of the Games.

:14:19. > :14:24.What was the problem? A Scarlets were a little bit more experienced

:14:24. > :14:32.and clever. They had a better scrum and brought in some good tactics at

:14:32. > :14:42.the line-out. They have shifted the ball to the back. The Scarlets

:14:42. > :14:43.

:14:43. > :14:53.cleverly stay away from the attempted drive. It is all a bit

:14:53. > :14:59.

:14:59. > :15:05.loose and untidy. Here, we are just on the half-time. There is

:15:05. > :15:12.inaccuracy again. There is a scrum and scarlet have the upper hand.

:15:12. > :15:18.They do get a penalty. When the Blues to get the line-out correct,

:15:18. > :15:22.there is great accuracy. Damage is done behind the gain line and the

:15:22. > :15:32.ball is forced. It was the story all night. This is the last play of

:15:32. > :15:33.

:15:33. > :15:36.the game and Owen Williams produced an unforced error. I think the

:15:36. > :15:46.inexperience of the young players in the Cardiff Blues showed on the

:15:46. > :15:51.

:15:51. > :15:56.And they didn't really go for that bonus point at try, will that come

:15:56. > :15:59.back to haunt them? Treviso will come to spoil and slow the game

:15:59. > :16:04.down, and this is where the Scarlets have got to get the ball

:16:04. > :16:10.into the hands of the backs. This is the danger men. You have got

:16:10. > :16:14.Scott Williams, Jonathan Davies Andy Williams. They have to get the

:16:14. > :16:19.ball into these players, they are the ones who are going to win them

:16:19. > :16:24.games. Again, it is good to see Priestland back. He takes the ball

:16:24. > :16:29.to the line, looks for space. They create opportunities, but I think

:16:29. > :16:36.they have to open it up against Treviso, give the ball to these

:16:36. > :16:41.boys. George North was quiet yesterday. I think it has been a

:16:41. > :16:49.problem. Going back to the Ospreys, they have had so many injuries this

:16:49. > :16:52.cf, players have that Paula Walker is injured -- players have left and

:16:52. > :16:56.players are injured and they are curtailed in the way they want to

:16:56. > :16:58.play. They had a scrum half playing play. They had a scrum half playing

:16:58. > :17:04.everywhere. The Scarlets, they are all fit and raring to go, and I

:17:04. > :17:08.think that is the avenue where they could really have a go, once they

:17:08. > :17:11.get to the semi-finals. I think get to the semi-finals. I think

:17:11. > :17:15.they have to go away took Ulster, and unless they bring those players

:17:15. > :17:19.into the game, they will find it difficult. They have to bring the

:17:19. > :17:23.ball to the best players. The forwards are doing a good job but

:17:23. > :17:27.they have to get the ball to those dangerous players. Good to see a

:17:27. > :17:32.couple of Welsh internationals back, Bradley Davies and Rhys Priestland.

:17:32. > :17:36.It was. As Jonathon said, Priestland took the ball to the

:17:36. > :17:39.line, it looked as though he hadn't been away from the game. In the

:17:39. > :17:45.last 15 minutes, it became a much more entertaining and competitive

:17:45. > :17:53.game. A lot of it was bound to those two players being back.

:17:53. > :17:56.Ashdown to. And Richard Hibbard, he limped off, the Ospreys today have

:17:56. > :18:00.said they considered a low severity injury and hopefully he will have

:18:00. > :18:04.some positive news on that, we will keep you posted. When London Welsh

:18:04. > :18:08.won promotion to the English Premiership, it was considered a

:18:08. > :18:12.triumph for the outsider against the Establishment, but all, be,

:18:12. > :18:14.there were too many obstacles to overcome and relegation last week

:18:14. > :18:18.has raised questions about their very survival.

:18:18. > :18:22.To say it has been a tortuous season for London Welsh would be an

:18:22. > :18:25.understatement. To get to the Premiership, they had to do

:18:25. > :18:28.business on the field and off it, with a court victory over the RFU,

:18:29. > :18:33.but defeat last week against Northampton saw them tumble through

:18:33. > :18:36.the trapdoor. They had other, number of obstacles but ultimately,

:18:36. > :18:41.the odds were stacked against them. We didn't have enough time or

:18:41. > :18:46.enough money and the Premiership is the big boys be, as far as money is

:18:46. > :18:51.concerned, and it was always going to be a bit of a miracle. If you

:18:51. > :18:55.take into consideration the promotion on July 1st, the mad rush

:18:55. > :19:02.at the words, in all respects, not just the playing staff, but the off

:19:02. > :19:07.the field staff. On the field, they have punched above their weight,

:19:07. > :19:11.with victories over Sale, London Irish, Exeter and Bath, but off the

:19:11. > :19:14.pitch they have suffered most. There was no incident more damaging

:19:14. > :19:19.than the deduction of five points for fielding an illegible player.

:19:19. > :19:24.It is an issue that still rankles. Ultimately, to have five points

:19:24. > :19:29.sanctioned was a big blow. We didn't expect as many as that, we

:19:29. > :19:33.thought maybe one or two, but I have five, for a criminal act, we

:19:33. > :19:38.thought it was a bit heavy. But those of the rules and we have to

:19:38. > :19:44.face up to them. It took the wind out of our sales. The incident in

:19:44. > :19:48.question centred around Tyson Keats. The New Zealander had been

:19:48. > :19:51.registered under a fake passport. The club was fined 15,000 and

:19:51. > :19:56.docked five points, but in a separate disciplinary hearing it,

:19:56. > :19:59.team manager Mike Scott was found guilty of falsifying documents and

:19:59. > :20:06.banned from rugby for life. Evidence according to the club, one

:20:06. > :20:11.man was to blame. The punishment didn't fit the crime. The guy who

:20:11. > :20:18.was responsible for it all, I don't know where he can't -- came from,

:20:18. > :20:22.but it was a mistake, and he dropped us in it, without any doubt.

:20:22. > :20:27.What I am disappointed in his we reported it to the RFU, we found

:20:27. > :20:30.out and told them about it and we got punished. Surely London Welsh,

:20:31. > :20:36.as his employer, is ultimately responsible for any fraudulent

:20:36. > :20:40.actions he committed? Which is why, as soon as we were aware of it, we

:20:40. > :20:44.reported it to the RFU. As soon as we were alerted to the fact that

:20:44. > :20:48.there might be some began this, we reported it to the police, the RFU

:20:48. > :20:53.and the RFL. We did all that we could and more once we became aware

:20:53. > :20:56.of the fact, we acted as best as we could. The fact remains that London

:20:56. > :21:00.Welsh have been relegated and the fear now is the entire edifice

:21:00. > :21:04.could come crumbling down. The chief benefactor at Kelvin Brian

:21:04. > :21:09.has pulled out after 20 years of support. The Chief Executive has

:21:09. > :21:12.resigned. It is rumoured that by chairman John Taylor has also left.

:21:12. > :21:20.With money in short supply, there is every chance players and coaches

:21:20. > :21:24.might jump ship. We have to respect the players' wishes and where they

:21:24. > :21:27.want to be an some players may think, I want to be part of a

:21:28. > :21:31.Premiership club rather than the Championship club. Even if there

:21:31. > :21:34.are contractual commitments, we need to recognise that if players

:21:34. > :21:42.genuinely want to move on, we should respect their wishes and do

:21:42. > :21:47.what is in their best interests. The board had asked me to stay on.

:21:47. > :21:51.And to fulfil my contract, which I am more than prepared to do. So we

:21:51. > :21:54.will see how things develop in the coming weeks. A number of big

:21:54. > :21:58.decisions will need to be made over the coming weeks and months.

:21:58. > :22:02.Perhaps the biggest of all is where London Welsh will play their home

:22:02. > :22:06.games next season. They had, of course, been playing at the Kassam

:22:06. > :22:09.Stadium in Oxford, but the ground that that could be beyond the

:22:09. > :22:13.budget for the Championship club. If they do leave, the chances are

:22:13. > :22:18.they will have to return to the familiar but less salubrious

:22:18. > :22:21.surroundings of Old Deer Park. like to think that we owe it to the

:22:21. > :22:26.supporters in the Oxford area to look at all the opportunities

:22:26. > :22:29.available in the area to sustain the momentum develop to the last 12

:22:29. > :22:34.months to the Oxford area. I would like to do all I can to ensure

:22:34. > :22:38.there are possibilities there. We are in mid-April, we need to make

:22:38. > :22:42.tangible progress in the next few weeks to be clear what is a viable

:22:42. > :22:45.option next season. The club is refusing to play the Blame Game,

:22:45. > :22:49.despite insinuations from some quarters that the RFU never wanted

:22:49. > :22:54.dead in the top flight and did everything to get rid of them. But

:22:54. > :22:59.beneath the surface, it is not hard to detect a sense of frustration,

:22:59. > :23:03.if not outright injustice. If they win their last two games and end up

:23:03. > :23:07.within five points of the 11th place team, of which it considered

:23:07. > :23:12.that a moral victory? I think he would have everybody, a place that,

:23:12. > :23:16.the board and their coaches at the door of the RFU. I think that is a

:23:16. > :23:22.very good question. If we do end up within five points off the

:23:22. > :23:27.penultimate club, then there will be some serious questions asked.

:23:27. > :23:31.Well, as it happens, that is a moot point, because London Welsh lost

:23:31. > :23:35.their penultimate game to London Irish yesterday. Kingsley, a lot of

:23:35. > :23:39.suppressed anger in that piece. You feel as though there was an agenda

:23:40. > :23:44.against London Welsh from the powers that be? Personally, to

:23:44. > :23:48.start with, they were going well, but the minute that Sale Sharks

:23:48. > :23:52.were below London Welsh and went above them instantly without

:23:52. > :23:57.playing a game, London Welsh went to the bottom, it took the wind out

:23:57. > :24:01.of everybody's sales and it was a big motivation for Sale Sharks and

:24:01. > :24:04.London Irish about that, and it has been an uphill battle since. I

:24:04. > :24:11.really enjoyed it there for the first four months but I knew things

:24:11. > :24:15.would be tough after that. I have also been involved in. Deductions

:24:15. > :24:21.myself at Sale for an ineligible player -- points deductions. By

:24:21. > :24:25.five minutes and they got fined 5,000. They are the rules, it is

:24:25. > :24:29.very disappointing and from where I sit, one man has done this to a lot

:24:29. > :24:34.of other people and it is such a sad thing, because all up that work

:24:34. > :24:37.from a lot of good people, a lot of good work. This conspiracy theory

:24:37. > :24:42.that London Welsh were upstarts and the RFU and the PR well did not

:24:42. > :24:47.want them in the Premiership, is there anything to that? Again, you

:24:47. > :24:51.look at the clubs. It has to be open. How can you say that any team

:24:51. > :24:58.can get promoted obligated but only two teams can fit the criteria?

:24:58. > :25:01.They fought that battle, they've won that fair and square. I don't

:25:01. > :25:06.think the powers-that-be wanted them out of bed but they haven't

:25:06. > :25:10.had a lot of help or sympathy. -- out of it. I don't think you can

:25:10. > :25:13.say they didn't want them in there, but it London Welsh are in there,

:25:13. > :25:17.it doesn't help English rugby in any way, that is one way of looking

:25:17. > :25:21.at it. But there are a lot of good men in London Welsh and they have

:25:21. > :25:25.worked really hard to get where they are. They didn't get promoted

:25:25. > :25:30.until July 7th and so then when you buy players, it is difficult. Jones

:25:30. > :25:34.is a very good coach, and also, if Kelvin Brian walks away, that says

:25:34. > :25:39.a lot, because he has been there through thick and thin as a great

:25:39. > :25:43.supporter, so he has just got sick of everything, the politics, and he

:25:43. > :25:47.has gone, I can't be bothered any more with this rubbish, and I think

:25:47. > :25:50.that is the problem they have had. They have been very unlucky, they

:25:50. > :25:55.have done exceptionally well but with everything thrown against them,

:25:55. > :26:01.and I agree with Kingsley, one man's stupidity has really cost

:26:01. > :26:07.them their position. Kingsley, briefly, we ventured people leaving.

:26:07. > :26:11.Jones said he will stay, will Gavin stay and will you stay? I am not

:26:11. > :26:16.sure about Gavin, but from my own point of view, I enjoyed it last

:26:16. > :26:20.year, but I do have commitments in Russia. Maybe I will go up two days

:26:20. > :26:25.a week in and hopefully they can bounce back. I think a lot of

:26:25. > :26:30.things are happening there right now to try and make sure that it is

:26:30. > :26:35.not a case of down toning things, but coming back up. It is not easy,

:26:35. > :26:38.Bristol are spending a lot of money and it is a difficult lead to get

:26:38. > :26:42.our top, so they have been there and done it before and hopefully

:26:42. > :26:46.they will go back up. -- get out of. All the best of luck for them. Back

:26:46. > :26:51.to the Pro 12 and Ulster were looking to consolidate their place

:26:51. > :26:54.at the top band take a step further to a home semi-final. But first,

:26:54. > :26:57.the Dragons were hoping to restore some wounded pride.

:26:57. > :27:00.some wounded pride. It was farewell to Dan Lydiate as

:27:00. > :27:03.the flanker ran out for his last appearance in front of the Rodney

:27:03. > :27:13.Parade faithful. The Dragons were hoping to end a four-game losing

:27:13. > :27:18.

:27:18. > :27:28.streak. Standing in their way, a Dragons, back on the attack.

:27:28. > :27:28.

:27:28. > :27:38.Sheridan. Trying to cross kick. Butler has stolen it and the first

:27:38. > :27:59.

:27:59. > :28:01.and the Dragons have their first and that is a 14 point lead

:28:01. > :28:11.and that is a 14 point lead and that is a 14 point lead

:28:11. > :28:11.

:28:11. > :29:06.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 65 seconds

:29:06. > :29:11.through, and the Dragons defence Tremendous charge. The Dragons need

:29:11. > :29:17.to keep the momentum of this attack going. There it is all Wayne Evans.

:29:17. > :29:19.Ross Wardlaw for the corner. Wardle will score on his home debut, and

:29:19. > :29:22.the Dragons only behind for a couple of minutes and snatch the

:29:22. > :29:27.lead back. I have been here six years now, so

:29:27. > :29:33.I have had a couple of injuries, and it is time for change and a new

:29:33. > :29:37.challenge. A want to play against the best teams and what not, so

:29:37. > :29:42.like I said, I just want to reiterate again how thankful I am

:29:42. > :29:52.to the Dragons for giving me that chance to push on and wherever I go

:29:52. > :29:55.

:29:56. > :30:05.next, hopefully I will become a regular season top spot after

:30:06. > :30:32.
