:00:43. > :00:54.Don't stop me now, Queen. Celebrate, called the gang.

:00:55. > :01:16.Don't stop me now. Having a ball. If you want to have a good time, give

:01:17. > :01:26.me a call! I don't want to stop at all. APPLAUSE

:01:27. > :01:38.Hello and good evening, welcome to scrum V Six Nations special. That us

:01:39. > :01:45.get the party started with a heavyweight panel, Jonathan Davies

:01:46. > :01:50.is here. Martyn Williams. And the main man himself, Mr Shane Williams.

:01:51. > :01:56.We are also delighted to welcome our friends from Italy, the Italians are

:01:57. > :02:07.in the house. A very good friend of the show, Mr Roche. Wales's women

:02:08. > :02:14.are here this evening. But our special guest this evening, give it

:02:15. > :02:28.up for the Grand Slam champion Wales under 20s. Great to see you boys, we

:02:29. > :02:33.will talk to you shortly but only one place to start, the principality

:02:34. > :02:42.stadium and Wales looking for an improvement on Twickenham. Wales

:02:43. > :02:49.were going for their 10th consecutive win over Italy and with

:02:50. > :02:55.captain Sam sidelined, Dan Lydiate was leading that his nation for the

:02:56. > :03:03.first time. Rhys Webb and Justin Tipuric work playing, and Amos

:03:04. > :03:06.returned from injury for his championship debut. With 17 players

:03:07. > :03:10.out injured, the Italians had to make five unforced changes. Parisi's

:03:11. > :03:34.team had never won in Cardiff. COMMENTATOR: Wales trying to get

:03:35. > :03:43.through. Wales pouring up to the 22. The little push from Dan Biggar. He

:03:44. > :03:47.gets in ahead of his opposite number, Williams. They have got to

:03:48. > :03:55.be offside. A clever kick, to the naked eye, they overran it. How the

:03:56. > :04:01.assistant referee has not seen that, it should be a penalty to Italy.

:04:02. > :04:12.Rhys Webb has it, and he goes for the line himself and scores. Wales

:04:13. > :04:28.have a try. Wales, still on the attack. A little 1-2, Wales have

:04:29. > :04:35.their second try, Dan Biggar. Now, a chance for Wales now as Jonathan

:04:36. > :04:42.Davies, thou going up the wink in it goes to Dan Biggar, and Parisse

:04:43. > :04:54.tries to get him but Evans will score.

:04:55. > :05:05.Charteris, Davies comes in. It goes wide, Williams in their, George

:05:06. > :05:09.North slips it away and Roberts will score in the corner, eventually it

:05:10. > :05:20.came, a patient build-up from Wales and Jamie Roberts scores at the

:05:21. > :05:26.start of the second half. Charteris lays it back, it goes straight

:05:27. > :05:35.through, George North, George North all the way, what a try from George

:05:36. > :05:46.North. He does it again, four games in a row in the Six Nations. Nice

:05:47. > :05:53.little pass inside and a great run from Sato, to his younger brother,

:05:54. > :06:04.and the lay-off is not quite therefore Geldenhuys, great break by

:06:05. > :06:09.Italy. A lovely inside ball, I do like Sato, he is a deceptive runner,

:06:10. > :06:18.plenty of supporting players, a missed opportunity. Defeat beginning

:06:19. > :06:21.to move, moving towards that line. It may come, Garcia comes in as well

:06:22. > :06:45.and the try is therefore Italy. Wales into the 22, Dan Biggar.

:06:46. > :06:52.Roberts, wide to Davies, Williams, Lee Williams with a try. Wales score

:06:53. > :07:06.again, Liam Williams with a fine finish. A chance once more for

:07:07. > :07:20.Italy. Garcia for a try, Italy will have another, a beautiful off-load

:07:21. > :07:31.and in Italy have a second try. Wales begin the March. Great play

:07:32. > :07:35.and try, it comes to Ross Moriarty. He is the man who gets over for

:07:36. > :07:46.another try for Wales as they move past 50. Away they go and it will be

:07:47. > :07:59.a try, it has to be a second try from REIT. -- Moriarty. He is never

:08:00. > :08:08.going to get there. Anscombe has support, carried by Lydiate, Dan

:08:09. > :08:23.Biggar, surely. Davies for the try and what age I to finish with. --

:08:24. > :08:27.what a try. APPLAUSE The crowd in Cardiff loved it, the

:08:28. > :08:35.studio loved it, what did the Welsh coach and players make of it? We

:08:36. > :08:39.owed it to the fans this week, still conceded some soft tries but they

:08:40. > :08:43.played their heart out, I could not ask for more from the squad. It is

:08:44. > :08:49.difficult to play matches when we lose by 50 points, sometimes we did

:08:50. > :08:56.good things, we scored a couple of tries but too many mistakes on

:08:57. > :09:01.defence. They put us under pressure, well played Wales. We showed what we

:09:02. > :09:08.can do and what we need to do, we deserve that for our hard work this

:09:09. > :09:12.week. We want to play the way we have been playing, that doesn't

:09:13. > :09:17.happen overnight, it takes some games to put that together, we have

:09:18. > :09:22.created chances but have not always been 100% accurate. We had a couple

:09:23. > :09:26.of passes going in behind but now we are trying to change things and

:09:27. > :09:30.change things up, play a bit differently and put the forwards in

:09:31. > :09:34.the channels and getting that combination of communication takes

:09:35. > :09:41.time. They are an impatient lot and you want things to happen instantly

:09:42. > :09:48.but today was good. You have to turn up every game, we have to make sure

:09:49. > :09:56.we are in the right place, and today showed that we can be a good team.

:09:57. > :10:00.Plenty to talk about as well as yesterday's game, we will also talk

:10:01. > :10:06.about the tournament in general, a record win, nine tries and virtually

:10:07. > :10:10.the perfect response after Twickenham. Virtually no win, they

:10:11. > :10:16.would have expected to score 50 points against Italy, so I thought

:10:17. > :10:21.they had patients, I didn't understand going for the penalty at

:10:22. > :10:25.one stage when they were 10-0 up or something but apart from that, they

:10:26. > :10:31.asked a lot of questions. They showed what they can do, Gatland is

:10:32. > :10:35.on about my patients, I think they are a great bunch of players and

:10:36. > :10:41.they are competitive on the world stage. The thing is, we think they

:10:42. > :10:47.can play a better style as well and can adapt. It shows what they can do

:10:48. > :10:54.with the execution sometimes on the passing was a bit awry but it was

:10:55. > :10:57.easy on the high. Was the overriding emotion going to principality

:10:58. > :11:03.stadium one of thinking what might have been if they had won against

:11:04. > :11:08.England and then you would be playing a poor Italy side to win the

:11:09. > :11:13.title? A little bit, you cannot underestimate how big the challenge

:11:14. > :11:18.is to win at Twickenham, we started poorly in that game. Wales will be

:11:19. > :11:23.frustrated and tomorrow, they will look, their first game against an

:11:24. > :11:28.injury ravaged game against Ireland and did not turn up for the first 30

:11:29. > :11:33.minutes and last week again. I don't think they will necessarily beaten

:11:34. > :11:38.by a better team's, this is the most talented group we have had in years

:11:39. > :11:44.for Wales. The talent we have got is amazing, they will be as frustrated

:11:45. > :11:50.as everyone else. The national paper said yesterday, for the love of

:11:51. > :11:56.rugby, please play. Nothing to lose really. Italy have been quite poor

:11:57. > :12:01.in this Six Nations, conceding a lot of points, everyone complained last

:12:02. > :12:05.week that Wales had not scored many tries and it was a chance to move

:12:06. > :12:08.the ball around and use their strike runners and play differently. What

:12:09. > :12:13.they did differently, rather than sending Jamie Roberts up the middle

:12:14. > :12:17.all the time, they attacked behind him, they used him as a distributor

:12:18. > :12:24.and it created gaps and holes for George North, Williams, and at times

:12:25. > :12:28.they played some fantastic rugby and showed everybody what they can do

:12:29. > :12:33.when they get clean ball and go forward. We will talk about Italy

:12:34. > :12:37.later in the programme but Wales, it is a sign of how far we have come as

:12:38. > :12:42.a rugby nation when the audience in the studio and the crowd yesterday

:12:43. > :12:49.were disappointed that we finished second? It is a tournament a lot of

:12:50. > :12:57.fans in Wales think they should win. A team with so many superstars

:12:58. > :13:01.combining, it is hard to understand why a 40 minutes of rugby had such

:13:02. > :13:05.an impact on who wins it but the different style of attack, aerial

:13:06. > :13:10.bombardment. That passing before contact and the elusiveness before

:13:11. > :13:17.contact makes it difficult when you have do defend it. So many variables

:13:18. > :13:22.happen when there is contact, the off-load can be forced, if you take

:13:23. > :13:28.that away, everyone plays with width and it puts more stress on a tired

:13:29. > :13:34.defence and that is when you get 30 points scored so quickly. You picked

:13:35. > :13:40.up an example. Two a good kicking game and a fantastic defence, rather

:13:41. > :13:45.than running as far as can into contact and then pass, we were

:13:46. > :13:49.passing before we made contact. I know the Italians made it pretty

:13:50. > :13:53.easy in defence, it is great to see what the back line can do, not just

:13:54. > :13:59.using them as battering rams to get over the line. Getting a second

:14:00. > :14:01.touch on the ball, we harp on about the Kiwis and Australians but that

:14:02. > :14:03.is what they do, they don't run as far as

:14:04. > :14:25.is what they do, they don't run as dictating whether ball goes from the

:14:26. > :14:29.first play and it has to be from wider, the full-back and the centre

:14:30. > :14:33.need to communicate and get the ball in because although we won by 60

:14:34. > :14:37.points, there were opportunities that were easy try scoring

:14:38. > :14:39.opportunities. They scored from their own half yesterday, they could

:14:40. > :16:12.have won by a lot more by just being their own half yesterday, they could

:16:13. > :16:16.something they need to develop. A tweet from Mike Phillips praising

:16:17. > :16:25.mariachi and how he celebrated his drive. Really impressed with him, he

:16:26. > :16:33.has a real edge about him. It carries really well. I think we were

:16:34. > :16:38.40 or 50 points up at the time. The way he celebrates his first try, a

:16:39. > :16:43.dream come true for him. Wales are blessed in the back row, no sam

:16:44. > :16:49.yesterday, Sam Warburton, another went off injured, Ross Moriarty has

:16:50. > :16:53.taken his opportunity. Warren Gatland singled him out for praise,

:16:54. > :17:01.when he does that it is no mean feat. It is another one to add into

:17:02. > :17:08.the mix. Hopefully he can get an opportunity in New Zealand. Alan

:17:09. > :17:15.Amos, we scored 60 points and the ball didn't go to him. I did feel

:17:16. > :17:20.for him because you could see him waiting for one but the ball didn't

:17:21. > :17:27.go his way. What did you think of Moriarty? It is awful when you have

:17:28. > :17:31.another back with a low centre of gravity, he has subtle touches, not

:17:32. > :17:35.just a battering ram, he has the hard work as well and tight phases.

:17:36. > :17:40.Another option coming out the back and you were looking for Justin

:17:41. > :17:45.Tipuric and others, and then you have do worry about Ross Moriarty as

:17:46. > :17:51.well, you have someone who will fight for the jersey as well. Update

:17:52. > :17:56.you on Justin Tipuric, he's bent the night in hospital with a bang on the

:17:57. > :17:59.head, someone else with a headache yesterday was the touch judge. You

:18:00. > :18:02.may have seen this, this has become an Internet sensation. This is what

:18:03. > :18:23.happened. There he goes. How did he miss that?

:18:24. > :18:30.He missed the offside for the kick first of all, that explains it a bit

:18:31. > :18:34.to be honest. Let us talk about Italy, Carlow, we have some Italian

:18:35. > :18:41.fans in the crowd here today, fair play, they have come out here today.

:18:42. > :18:44.They have come out today and they have all been saying how

:18:45. > :18:50.disappointed they were yesterday, Italy were dreadful and awful

:18:51. > :18:55.yesterday. Thanks. It breaks my heart, to hear so many people say

:18:56. > :18:59.that Italy was so poor and White were they poor? You can make all the

:19:00. > :19:04.excuses you want to, Wales were brilliant at times, not a lot of

:19:05. > :19:08.teams would have been able to stop what they produced but you look at

:19:09. > :19:16.the injury list, and there is massive pressure to field a team,

:19:17. > :19:22.that not a lot of them even have any European experience, there is a guy

:19:23. > :19:28.who plays in the international -- the Italian league, the full-back,

:19:29. > :19:34.he was contributing well at the same time but, the one was a tip thing,

:19:35. > :19:38.if you bleed so many youngsters by force, all of a sudden when the

:19:39. > :19:42.physio room is empty and they get their jerseys back, Italy have a

:19:43. > :19:50.wider pool of players to choose from. That have been led rather than

:19:51. > :19:55.just fed information and can come in. If there is one positive thing,

:19:56. > :20:01.it would be the extra experience for those players. There is a

:20:02. > :20:05.suggestion, about relegation, that the team finish bottom of the Six

:20:06. > :20:09.Nations, Italy, would face a play-off against a team like

:20:10. > :20:15.Georgia, who beat Romania yesterday, they finished top of the so-called

:20:16. > :20:20.European Nations cup but is that disrespectful to Italy? It is not

:20:21. > :20:27.just Italy, whoever finishes bottom should face the top of the year --

:20:28. > :20:30.the teams below, Georgia yesterday had 55,000 people watching them beat

:20:31. > :20:36.Romania, they are serious contenders. You cannot just keep

:20:37. > :20:40.them down. You look what happened with Argentina, they started in

:20:41. > :20:45.Super Rugby and now a team in the Super 15 and the Rugby Championship,

:20:46. > :20:53.they are developing. Italy should say, Parisse looked really off

:20:54. > :20:59.yesterday, as if he had had enough. If we are to stay there, they have

:21:00. > :21:06.to play Georgia on a home and away basis and if you play well and not,

:21:07. > :21:11.maybe it would be better to go back and develop players and then come

:21:12. > :21:17.back again the following year. Rather than lose by 50 or 60 points.

:21:18. > :21:23.It was tough on Italy with a lot of injuries but whoever finishes often.

:21:24. > :21:27.I used Italy as an example, it adds jeopardy to the end of the season

:21:28. > :21:36.and you don't have heard robbers, it could be Wales. Georgia showed they

:21:37. > :21:40.are a force in the World Cup, Italy would be stronger over two legs but

:21:41. > :21:48.it is worth looking at definitely. You could have seven nations and

:21:49. > :21:51.invite Georgia in. We talk about the level two sides, the only way they

:21:52. > :21:56.compete against the best teams in the world is to play against them on

:21:57. > :22:01.a regular basis. Not just every four years when the World Cup comes

:22:02. > :22:05.around. Georgia proved they are a force to be reckoned with and have

:22:06. > :22:09.gone above Italy in the world rankings, why not? It is something

:22:10. > :22:14.that could come in and if you don't play well in the Six Nations, you go

:22:15. > :22:19.down to the second competition and it is an incentive to play well in

:22:20. > :22:24.the Six Nations. If the tournament was not expanded from five to six, I

:22:25. > :22:30.would not be sitting here now, it cannot just be a monopoly, even

:22:31. > :22:35.though my first reaction is super protective. Sergio was annoyed when

:22:36. > :22:41.it came up in the news conference. I am not surprised, Italy have beaten

:22:42. > :22:48.everybody except England. But you take a step back and the wider

:22:49. > :22:54.picture, they have a two year system and Georgia have won it nine times

:22:55. > :22:59.in a row. Logistically, it makes sense, if it can be possible, every

:23:00. > :23:07.two years that the rotation can be put in place. Then it can fast track

:23:08. > :23:11.the development system that is needed to make better decisions. Let

:23:12. > :23:17.us look at the final Six Nations table. England are Grand Slam

:23:18. > :23:20.champions, congratulations to Eddie Jones and his team, a remarkable

:23:21. > :23:35.recovery after World Cup failure. How good were England for you? Allen

:23:36. > :23:40.good, no doubt about that, they were the best team in the competition,

:23:41. > :23:43.they performed consistently well and had a tough game in Scotland at

:23:44. > :23:48.Murrayfield. After winning that and how they won it, I backed them to

:23:49. > :23:52.get through. It was quite frightening when you look at the

:23:53. > :23:59.players they have two come in, Henry Slade, Tuilagi could come back fit,

:24:00. > :24:03.the number eight will be available in the summer. It was not rocket

:24:04. > :24:09.science how they played but they had clarity. Eddie Jones did what he

:24:10. > :24:12.does, getting the best of his resources and the resources England

:24:13. > :24:18.have, it is frightening for the rest of the Northern hemisphere. A

:24:19. > :24:21.fascinating listening on the radio, saying that this team will mature

:24:22. > :24:27.and in three or four years they will be a force to be reckoned with, can

:24:28. > :24:32.you see a World Cup winning side? Yes you can, the strength in depth

:24:33. > :24:38.is there. They are not going to be in Italy's position, they are a

:24:39. > :24:42.strong side. It was not a poor tournament, Wales one of the best in

:24:43. > :24:46.the world, Ireland have dipped a bit because of injuries but England did

:24:47. > :24:51.what they had to do and did it well. I was impressed with what they did,

:24:52. > :24:56.very simple and slow all, they kicked it all be forward took it up

:24:57. > :25:01.and the quick ball and the forward took it, they scored a lot of tries

:25:02. > :25:07.and looked dangerous. They looked confident. In the World Cup they

:25:08. > :25:12.were edgy and nervous and we felt we had a chance of beating them and

:25:13. > :25:17.that is what happened. Eddie Jones just oozes confidence, he says the

:25:18. > :25:21.right things, go and have a beer and chill out and it is about what you

:25:22. > :25:25.do on the field, it is about your game and leave him to do everything

:25:26. > :25:30.else. Just behave yourself and play. I think they deservedly won it and

:25:31. > :25:35.they will go from strength to strength. The Jo Marler issue has

:25:36. > :25:39.made the papers again, a respected writer in the Sunday Times, he

:25:40. > :25:45.doesn't think that Jo Marler, who admitted racial abuse, that he

:25:46. > :25:55.should have been nowhere near a sports arena? At the end of the day,

:25:56. > :26:00.he has admitted he has said something racial to Sam and it is

:26:01. > :26:07.almost as if that is it. It is a serious matter and you can see his

:26:08. > :26:12.point. How far it will go and what Stephen Jones really wants out of

:26:13. > :26:18.this I am not sure. The problem you have is that no one really knew what

:26:19. > :26:24.that meant at the time. Then everyone jumped on the bandwagon.

:26:25. > :26:29.The Six Nations should have jumped on it straightaway and made a

:26:30. > :26:33.decision. Banned or not banned and then announce it on Sunday morning

:26:34. > :26:39.but it has dragged on and rugby, has been dragged through it and the

:26:40. > :26:45.world game have come in and they will ban him. The problem is the

:26:46. > :26:50.governing body, world rugby, looking at if the Six Nations committee have

:26:51. > :26:54.investigated the investigation properly. The rugby union doesn't

:26:55. > :26:59.know what is going on. The common-sense thing is to ban him for

:27:00. > :27:03.the last game and draw a line and move on, no one has come out of this

:27:04. > :27:08.with any credit in my mind. It is a shame it is dragging on. Whether

:27:09. > :27:14.they retrospectively ban him, I think they will but the damage has

:27:15. > :27:22.been done. A lot of players in the Six Nations have stepped up to the

:27:23. > :27:26.mark, these are the views. Not the classic Six Nations we may have been

:27:27. > :27:30.expecting but I have looked at some of the individual players that some

:27:31. > :27:35.of the coaches may feel they cannot live without. Scottish Centre Duncan

:27:36. > :27:41.Taylor has shown he can play 12 or 13. He has a presence of mind and an

:27:42. > :27:45.uncanny ability to score tries. They rangy individual and deceptively

:27:46. > :27:49.quick. He has been Scotland's top ball-carrier in three of the four

:27:50. > :27:54.games he has played in the Six Nations this year. He is a solid

:27:55. > :27:59.defender as well and in Taylor, Scotland have a centre that can

:28:00. > :28:05.affect the game at either end of the field. Ireland stand-off CJ stander

:28:06. > :28:10.had the most carries by a Six Nations were beaten. He has proved

:28:11. > :28:16.to be a crucial player and he has leadership qualities. But he has

:28:17. > :28:21.also shown deft skills and touches around the field and the links well

:28:22. > :28:25.with the likes of Johnny Sexton. Add to that a vital line-out presence

:28:26. > :28:34.and it makes him one for Ireland's future. Centre Michel Campagnaro has

:28:35. > :28:38.been the one shining light in Italy's Six Nations, he has carried

:28:39. > :28:44.the ball more than any other Italian player. Italy sorely missed him

:28:45. > :28:49.against Wales yesterday. He has the ability to get Italy back on the

:28:50. > :28:52.front foot when they are in trouble. He is a particularly aggressive

:28:53. > :28:57.defender with a solid tackle technique. He is renowned as one of

:28:58. > :29:03.the most difficult players to defend and he makes it look easy. As a

:29:04. > :29:08.hooker, the French captain, not only does the set piece basics well but

:29:09. > :29:12.also adds value to the team around the field. Whether it be in the

:29:13. > :29:17.wider channels as he did against Scotland, scoring his try or in the"

:29:18. > :29:25.is as he often did against Wales in Cardiff. He has also been used as a

:29:26. > :29:32.wrecking ball flanker, when it needs to get tight, the captain can do the

:29:33. > :29:36.job to get over the line. Lock George Cruise is the glue that keeps

:29:37. > :29:43.England together, the Saracens man as a big tackle count and a huge

:29:44. > :29:48.work rate, he rarely misses a tackle, especially under the sticks.

:29:49. > :29:52.Is early try against Scotland proved decisive for the Grand Slam

:29:53. > :29:59.champions, 50% of England's line-outs were thrown to him and

:30:00. > :30:01.that with what he showed against France yesterday, it bodes well for

:30:02. > :30:15.England's future. I have really seen an improvement in

:30:16. > :30:18.George North. We all know George can be defenders for fun but on things

:30:19. > :30:23.like this from kick-off, how he really drives his legs a second

:30:24. > :30:29.effort to get Wales out of trouble. Tracking back from defence, crucial

:30:30. > :30:32.in defensive aspects for his team. And also his spatial awareness

:30:33. > :30:36.behind. This is a difficult skill for a winger and downy tramlines in

:30:37. > :30:43.the five metre channel, a difficult kick that George North does with

:30:44. > :30:44.aplomb. And improved player yes, there is more to gorgeous George

:30:45. > :30:54.than meets the eye. Jonathan and Martin have selected

:30:55. > :31:00.their British Lions side already and it is available on the Twitter feed

:31:01. > :31:06.and Facebook. Wales are run New Zealand this summer. We have asked

:31:07. > :31:14.Xavier Rush to be asked are at the bar this evening. What is the New

:31:15. > :31:19.Zealand perspective of this 6-nations we have just had? It was a

:31:20. > :31:23.little bit of a let down after the excitement of the World Cup and the

:31:24. > :31:29.rugby we saw throughout the Rugby World Cup. It was a tad lower than

:31:30. > :31:34.that but after 2011 World Cup, Wales have a lot of respect down under and

:31:35. > :31:37.especially in New Zealand. It is a sign of how far we have come that we

:31:38. > :31:42.are really disappointed to be runners-up. I was thinking that

:31:43. > :31:46.earlier today. We are now going to places like Twickenham and expecting

:31:47. > :31:50.to win. It shows how far Welsh rugby has come. Our New Zealand quaking in

:31:51. > :31:57.their boots at the thought of taking on Wales? It is the best time Wales

:31:58. > :32:02.will have had to face the All Blacks for some time. They are rebuilding.

:32:03. > :32:08.We have had the retirement of some fantastic All Blacks. Wales are

:32:09. > :32:15.getting them at a great time. But there are 12 or 13 other World Cup

:32:16. > :32:20.winners to deal with. They will have problems but it is better than with

:32:21. > :32:23.those players better. At the time of year, June, the middle of winter,

:32:24. > :32:27.their game at the moment were actually suit the time of year. It

:32:28. > :32:31.will be night rugby again. I would like to see Wales being a bit more

:32:32. > :32:35.unstructured. They are like to see Wales being a bit more

:32:36. > :32:37.when it goes from set piece to set piece but what you see from teams in

:32:38. > :32:43.the southern hemisphere, piece but what you see from teams in

:32:44. > :32:55.attack from any little break any little turnover.

:32:56. > :33:04.defence, they will be a hard team to stop. I enjoyed watching Jamie

:33:05. > :33:07.Roberts and George North hit holes, inside and outside defenders

:33:08. > :33:14.simultaneously. That is so hard to defend. It is almost unstoppable.

:33:15. > :33:19.They will always get over the gain line. It is always a very simple

:33:20. > :34:49.move. It sounds to me like Wales might win a test

:34:50. > :35:20.The crowd have seen something. Something in the back area, years

:35:21. > :35:28.getting up. Jones does well. Under pressure. Italy fancy the turnover

:35:29. > :35:33.but overeager. And Wales can just steady themselves. I think he might

:35:34. > :35:50.see yellow. Not what Italy needed and he will

:35:51. > :35:56.spend ten minutes in the sin-bin. Here we go. As predicted. Evans at

:35:57. > :36:03.the back. In the backs as well. Watkin is there, Thomas is there.

:36:04. > :36:15.Italy have stood their ground so far but Evans just needs a Smith of that

:36:16. > :36:22.line and he is over. Smith, it is Milan. Half a gap. Cannot quite get

:36:23. > :36:25.away can Giles. Again Wales on the front foot, excellent pass,

:36:26. > :36:42.Williams. Great play from Wales. Try number three. Just short. Smith

:36:43. > :36:44.again, how did tops again. Fawcett in support. Smith once more. They

:36:45. > :36:58.have got numbers if they can move it. Smith again. They have options

:36:59. > :37:05.this side. Desperate to cross, they cross. Murphy is there. And the

:37:06. > :37:10.referee awards the try. It crams it to Wales. It is Harrison Keddie, man

:37:11. > :37:17.of the match last week, scores for Wales, the Grand Slam is on its way

:37:18. > :37:21.to Colwyn Bay. We said from the start we are confident in our

:37:22. > :37:24.ability but as a team, we have enjoyed and pushed ourselves to be

:37:25. > :37:28.really humble Madoff the field. Within ourselves, we knew what we

:37:29. > :37:48.were capable of. I could not been prouder.

:37:49. > :37:55.So with Wales having secured their first ever Grand Slam at this level,

:37:56. > :37:56.they will head off to Manchester in June for the Junior world champions

:37:57. > :38:12.as 6-nations titleholders. It really is a great achievement.

:38:13. > :38:16.Jason, the coach, is here, alongside Harrison. You must be so proud.

:38:17. > :38:21.Extremely pleased. The tournament could not have gone any better. Full

:38:22. > :38:24.credit to the players and the other cultures, Geraint Lewis, Richard

:38:25. > :38:29.Hodges and Chris Horseman. They did a fantastic job with the players.

:38:30. > :38:37.They happen superb on and off the field. We keep hearing about this

:38:38. > :38:40.amazing team spirit. Yes, it is something we have placed huge

:38:41. > :38:43.significance on throughout the tournament and we have shown it on

:38:44. > :38:51.the field. They are really close and that will only get stronger until we

:38:52. > :38:56.reach the World Cup. They are a great group. It is a pleasure to be

:38:57. > :39:01.a part of it. Harris and we will have a look at your try. How does it

:39:02. > :39:10.feel to be a Grand Slam champion? A bit surreal. It has not quite sunk

:39:11. > :39:16.in. There is the ball. That ball has not been seen, by the way. This team

:39:17. > :39:21.spirit you have got any side is just amazing. When did you realise the

:39:22. > :39:25.Grand Slam was on? Did you think halfway through the championship, we

:39:26. > :39:32.can do this? We have always believed in what we can do and that team

:39:33. > :39:37.spirit God is the end. Jason, the adjusting for you now is, do you sit

:39:38. > :39:39.down with Warren Gatland over the next couple of months, there is a

:39:40. > :39:44.suggestion that some of these boys I'd go on the tour to New Zealand?

:39:45. > :39:51.Or do you want to keep them for the Junior World Cup? We have a lot of

:39:52. > :39:54.dialogue with the national cultures. They have all been superbly last

:39:55. > :39:59.couple of months. And that decision will be left to those cultures. What

:40:00. > :40:06.is important to us is when they leave the 20s, we have done all we

:40:07. > :40:09.can to develop those players but we are in a strong position and

:40:10. > :40:13.hopefully they will go on to bigger and better things in the future. You

:40:14. > :40:18.have made our country very proud. The under 20s, Grand Slam champions.

:40:19. > :40:29.Well done. Very proud of you. Let's catch up now then with Wales' women.

:40:30. > :40:35.Wales' women's main aim during this campaign was to ensure litigation

:40:36. > :40:38.for next year 's World Cup in Ireland and that was achieved

:40:39. > :40:42.earlier on in the tournament. At which two wins and two defeats so

:40:43. > :40:47.far, the side were determined to end with a victory against Italy at the

:40:48. > :40:53.Talbot athletic ground in Aberavon. Wales started brightly but it was

:40:54. > :40:56.the Italians who opened the scoring. The Welsh defence has been strong in

:40:57. > :41:05.previous weeks but today it was in a muddle. The second try was

:41:06. > :41:10.completely against the run of play. Wales spilled the ball inside the

:41:11. > :41:15.Italian 22, which fell nicely again for Italy. The number ten running 80

:41:16. > :41:21.metres to cross for a second try. With Italy down to 14, Wales took

:41:22. > :41:26.advantage. Determined work by the forwards but it was Italy who took a

:41:27. > :41:32.13-5 lead going into the break. It was same again from Wales in the

:41:33. > :41:36.second half with Harris scoring her second try. Things took a turn for

:41:37. > :41:39.the worse as Charis Phillips was stretchered off with a suspected

:41:40. > :41:43.broken leg. Wales were unable to turn possession into points and a

:41:44. > :41:48.second penalty saw the Italians hold. France claimed the

:41:49. > :41:52.championship after denying England the Grand Slam. Wales finished

:41:53. > :41:58.fourth ahead of the Italians on points difference.

:41:59. > :42:04.A pretty disappointing campaign. I suppose you started off pretty well

:42:05. > :42:10.and you had a chance to build on that success but it did not really

:42:11. > :42:15.work for you. We had a couple of really good games against Scotland

:42:16. > :42:18.and France. No one can argue that our defensive performance against

:42:19. > :42:22.France was the best we have ever put in but unfortunately then the two

:42:23. > :42:26.games following that were both disappointing. I think as a squad we

:42:27. > :42:29.know that we did not start the game out of the blocks. It took as the

:42:30. > :42:34.first 40 minutes, which anybody knows you cannot lay an

:42:35. > :42:39.international rugby game and expect to win it in 40 minutes. You had a

:42:40. > :42:51.couple of chances but lacking those clinical edge. Yes, both our tries

:42:52. > :42:54.were scored from our forwards. It is now the tiny little skills with the

:42:55. > :43:03.backs to make sure we're getting those finishes out wide. We hear

:43:04. > :43:08.that Carys Phillips has broken her leg. We hope that is not the case

:43:09. > :43:15.because she is a pivotal part of our pack. I am sure that she will have a

:43:16. > :43:20.speedy recovery and we will get her back soon. What is next for you?

:43:21. > :43:25.Some of the girls are going into sevens but as of tomorrow it is part

:43:26. > :43:32.of our 18 month journey towards the women's World Cup. For us now, it is

:43:33. > :43:35.getting those little things right and the finishes and making sure we

:43:36. > :43:40.get those points out wide to put this in a position then for the

:43:41. > :43:43.6-nations next year and then the World Cup to improve on our rankings

:43:44. > :43:50.and then make ourselves a force to be reckoned with. Thank you very

:43:51. > :43:52.much for coming in. Wish you all the very best and let's bring you right

:43:53. > :44:05.up to date with the Pro12. Excellent service off the top. On

:44:06. > :44:13.the crash ball and the offload. Quick possessions here, it could be

:44:14. > :44:29.on. Missed pass, first try for Munster. Rhys Patchell, according to

:44:30. > :44:33.minds. Keeps possession. Switch of direction. Josh Navidi. Weak

:44:34. > :44:42.tackling in midfield. Josh Navidi has support and it is a stroll for

:44:43. > :44:46.Macauley Cook. The Blues will look to go down the front. It is a front

:44:47. > :44:56.Peel, how cheeky is that from Matthew Rees?

:44:57. > :45:03.No surprises what Munster will do here. And the Blues are on the back

:45:04. > :45:13.foot. There is a penalty coming but they want more. They get more.

:45:14. > :45:19.Cherie at the bottom of the pile. Here they come again. From deep,

:45:20. > :45:25.Munster. That has been punched and it is Garyn Smith and he will go all

:45:26. > :45:31.the way. Garyn Smith, pickpocketing the Munster attack.

:45:32. > :45:41.The Blues come again. Looking for that bonus point try. Evans, Rhys

:45:42. > :45:53.Patchell, great work from Rhys Patchell. Munster, the game could

:45:54. > :46:01.well be lost but they will not be giving up any time soon. O'Donoghue.

:46:02. > :46:04.A third try for Munster. The first time we have beaten Munster here for

:46:05. > :46:08.seven years apparently, which is a good achievement but way too long to

:46:09. > :46:13.wait for a win against Munster at home. That win for the Blues sees

:46:14. > :46:17.them remain ninth but adds to the pressure on the Ospreys as they look

:46:18. > :46:19.for European qualification. Glasgow beat Leinster on Friday. The

:46:20. > :46:29.defending champions are up to sixth. Six Welsh derbies over the next six

:46:30. > :46:35.weeks and there are some really tasty matchups. Next week, it is the

:46:36. > :46:36.Ospreys against the Scarlets. And a head-to-head between these two

:46:37. > :46:57.Canadians. You move to sunny Wales, how are you

:46:58. > :47:01.enjoying the mumbles? It is good. It is a nice little area here. Loving

:47:02. > :47:08.the beaches and the coffee shops. Ice cream shops. It is nice when the

:47:09. > :47:14.weather is like today. But it has been a hard few months with the

:47:15. > :47:23.weather. I can only have one sugar, this is on TV. How have you found

:47:24. > :47:29.the public just living in Wales? They are quite crazy about rugby. I

:47:30. > :47:32.try to get to see as many of the games as I can in the 6-nations just

:47:33. > :47:37.for that exact reason. The whole city is buzzing. I do think there is

:47:38. > :47:43.really a stadium in the world that has the crazy Welsh fans and

:47:44. > :47:46.especially when the stadium is closed and everything is amplified

:47:47. > :47:51.that much more. In having it right in the middle of town with all the

:47:52. > :48:02.stripper bars and people there I was before the game, having fun. The

:48:03. > :48:08.stripper bars? The strip. I did not have a clue. Stripper bars are the

:48:09. > :48:17.best. People are there hours before the game! You have been here for a

:48:18. > :48:23.little bit now and played a couple of games for the Scarlets and eight

:48:24. > :48:27.few of the derbies? Derbies everywhere are the same. Coming from

:48:28. > :48:33.Glasgow for six years, having the huge rivalry with Edinburgh, I was

:48:34. > :48:38.used to that. But then you come here to Wales where rugby is the normal

:48:39. > :48:42.one sport and a lot more people know about what is going on and all the

:48:43. > :48:47.Welsh guys will be coming back. Everyone will be firing and ready

:48:48. > :48:51.for it. It was funny when I first came to the Ospreys, the one game of

:48:52. > :48:55.the year that you could not lose was the Scarlets at home. The Scarlets

:48:56. > :48:59.will want to get to the top of the table and you guys want to start

:49:00. > :49:05.putting back-to-back games together. We want to get top six if we want to

:49:06. > :49:08.be in Europe. It is a massive game: not only a derby game at the points

:49:09. > :49:14.are vital. Both teams will want to get points for different reasons. I

:49:15. > :49:22.use starting? I do not know. Are you? I do not know. You have been

:49:23. > :49:26.resting all season for this one, to be fresh. I have been playing every

:49:27. > :49:32.game. I have been training well recently. Obviously, the Welsh

:49:33. > :49:36.players coming back, Jake Ball, James King for us. They have been

:49:37. > :49:41.involved in the Welsh squad. They will be a bit of a battle going on

:49:42. > :49:48.there. Definitely. Jake Ball is a massive leader for us. Front foot

:49:49. > :49:52.kind of guy. At the end of the day, when you play these derby games, it

:49:53. > :49:59.is all about who can create momentum and that starts with the forwards.

:50:00. > :50:04.There is the potential for you and I to go up against each other. If that

:50:05. > :50:09.does happen, it'll be a good class. We only done it once. Who do you

:50:10. > :50:13.think would be the best winger you have played against and why? You

:50:14. > :50:20.would be up there, even though you were macro I have only played you

:50:21. > :50:30.once. I have to go low on you. But I have googled Jeff Hassler, gridiron,

:50:31. > :50:35.highlights. How come when you score tries in rugby, do you not to those

:50:36. > :50:47.crazy celebrations that you used to in football? You used to do a little

:50:48. > :50:53.fire stoking. It is expected. Rugby is more of a

:50:54. > :50:58.gentleman sport. You have got to expect to score and not make a scene

:50:59. > :51:04.of it. Maybe if I score against you or I will pull that off. I hope to

:51:05. > :51:08.see you on the field next week. Best of luck and may the best team win.

:51:09. > :51:13.Good luck for the rest of the season. I hope you guys make the

:51:14. > :51:16.play-offs. What is it like when you go from being international

:51:17. > :51:17.team-mates and buddies into knocking seven bells out of each other? It is

:51:18. > :51:31.good fun. There will be little seven bells out of each other? It is

:51:32. > :51:36.as it is a big game, you will not have any problem getting motivated.

:51:37. > :51:40.The fact it is a derby, Ospreys Scarlets, the boys will be firing on

:51:41. > :51:45.all cylinders. And Ken Owens going up against Scott Baldwin. There is

:51:46. > :51:51.nothing between them. Scott Baldwin is one of the most improved players

:51:52. > :51:53.in Wales over the last few seasons. Ken Owens made such a difference at

:51:54. > :53:29.Twickenham when he came on. Ken Owens made such a difference at

:53:30. > :53:32.well. Let's bring you back to Wales and the 6-nations and looking ahead

:53:33. > :53:35.to New Zealand. If you were a schoolteacher and you were being

:53:36. > :53:42.asked to give your end of term report, what would you give Wales?

:53:43. > :53:46.Areas to improve on? Marks out of ten for getting continuity in the

:53:47. > :53:49.front row. They have had the same front row throughout the 6-nations,

:53:50. > :53:54.something they have struggled with before, the tight head side, Samson

:53:55. > :53:59.Lee, he is like a cornerstone. He has massive power behind him and the

:54:00. > :54:07.second rows, pure quality. They have stability upfront. Looking from the

:54:08. > :54:11.outside, there is one thing I would change, the variation of attack.

:54:12. > :54:15.They did it on Saturday, Arial, around the ruck, short, close,

:54:16. > :54:20.deception, against a blitz defence, two lines of attack may be to help

:54:21. > :54:23.off-load a bit of pressure. That'll be one thing but that takes time and

:54:24. > :54:26.the more they play together, they more they get that rhythm and

:54:27. > :54:34.especially against New Zealand, it is gone to be tough. It is good to

:54:35. > :54:39.be expansive game plan. It feels like you are playing against 15

:54:40. > :54:43.constantly all the time. Something that vary in that game will be

:54:44. > :54:46.massive. Any chance for Wales in New Zealand question mark there is

:54:47. > :54:52.always a chance. I completely agree with what Xavier Rush said, if ever

:54:53. > :54:56.there is a time to play New Zealand, it is when these players are not

:54:57. > :54:58.there. They have been the catalyst of everything New Zealand have done

:54:59. > :55:03.well over the last few years. However there are to be other

:55:04. > :55:08.players replacing them and coming through. And they will be world

:55:09. > :55:12.class in a matter of time. It is the hardest place you are going to go

:55:13. > :55:15.and play rugby. It is the toughest place and the toughest plays in the

:55:16. > :55:18.world out there but there is always a chance. It is gone to be hard and

:55:19. > :55:21.it will be interesting to see what kind of score they take their

:55:22. > :55:25.because a lot of experienced players have played a lot of rugby over the

:55:26. > :55:29.last year and a half and maybe it is a time for these players to have a

:55:30. > :55:34.bit of a rest and we have the under 20s boys who were looking superb in

:55:35. > :55:37.the 6-nations, they might want to be pushed right into the deep end and

:55:38. > :55:41.experience some of the red -- toughest rugby they were level

:55:42. > :55:46.expedience. How do you think Wales will do? We are competitive and we

:55:47. > :55:50.have not had that for a long time. You have to take your hat off to the

:55:51. > :55:54.current squad. They are up there and they will go up there with

:55:55. > :55:57.expectations high. If they can have all their best players playing and

:55:58. > :56:01.they play at their best, they are capable of beating New Zealand. That

:56:02. > :56:04.is the thing. The players that they will bring in will not appear from

:56:05. > :56:07.nowhere. They have been in the background for the last three or

:56:08. > :56:16.four years but not in the first team. I think if we can adapt, Hibs

:56:17. > :56:22.midfield, good communication, try and get mismatches out why, I think

:56:23. > :56:27.we can improve a lot and if we do the basics, in defence, set piece,

:56:28. > :56:32.as we have been, then if we can get our attack working well, I think we

:56:33. > :56:38.can only improve. We are running out of time but your assessment of Wales

:56:39. > :56:42.this season? Something like seven out of ten. We are runners-up, which

:56:43. > :56:45.going into yesterday's game, it felt like we were going into a Wooden

:56:46. > :56:50.Spoon game. But we are where we are. We are a fit and organised and

:56:51. > :56:53.committed side. One thing you cannot question with this team is the

:56:54. > :57:03.commitment. They always come back so well. You have been brilliant

:57:04. > :57:11.tonight. Thank you very much to Martyn Williams, Jonathan Davies,

:57:12. > :57:15.Shane Williams, Xavier Rush, thank you very much. That is it from us.

:57:16. > :57:20.As ever, it has been emotional.
