:00:27. > :00:37.It has been two halves for our regions, two defeats and no points

:00:38. > :00:40.on Friday, Saturday and two V ctor Ruiz, two Welsh teams in the top

:00:41. > :00:43.four. Rob Howley speaks for the first time since being appointed.

:00:44. > :00:47.Excited, proud, look forward to the next ten months. Scott Williams gets

:00:48. > :00:55.more than he bargained for. What is going wrong with the Scarlets this

:00:56. > :01:02.season? Good evening, welcome to the programme. Plenty to get through, as

:01:03. > :01:05.always. We will do so in the company Jonathan Davies and Phil Davies. We

:01:06. > :01:13.will find out what happened when Pontypridd and Merthyr locked horns.

:01:14. > :01:19.We will start in the 12, when Ospreys took their unbeaten record

:01:20. > :01:22.to Dublin. Alun Wyn Jones became the third

:01:23. > :01:28.player to reach 200 appearances for the Ospreys. Rhys Webb and Dan

:01:29. > :01:33.Biggar returned at half-backs. Sam Davies moving to full-back. Jonny

:01:34. > :01:45.Sexton made his first appearance of the season for Leinster. He

:01:46. > :01:58.steps away from Justin Tipuric. Eased back by the Ospreys. That

:01:59. > :02:01.looks good. Easy finish. Another solid scrum from Leinster, going

:02:02. > :02:11.forward. Jamie Heaslip very much in control. Keith said underneath his

:02:12. > :02:18.feet. There goes another try given against the Ospreys. Rhys Webb

:02:19. > :02:25.limping on the right-hand side. They come back in that direction. Jonny

:02:26. > :02:28.Sexton. Try number three on the stroke of half-time. Leinster are

:02:29. > :02:51.cruising in the first half. Really on the back foot. Fitting the

:02:52. > :02:56.gap well. Steps, and the man who got the first try gets the fourth. All

:02:57. > :03:05.going horribly wrong for the Ospreys.

:03:06. > :03:16.Straight through the middle. There is Rhys Webb. Would you believe it?

:03:17. > :03:20.The man he can sniff out tries from anywhere, looking up to see where

:03:21. > :03:38.the line is, in doing so, dropping the ball. It has to go wide. Round

:03:39. > :03:42.the back from Dan Biggar. Then John rices telemarketer races to the

:03:43. > :03:51.corner, and after much perseverance, the Ospreys get their first try. Not

:03:52. > :03:56.finished yet. -- John races to the corner. Delayed pass, well worked

:03:57. > :04:17.try for David Howells. -- Davies, they get the third try.

:04:18. > :04:20.Ultimately we would like to perform better than we did, particularly the

:04:21. > :04:27.first hour. Ultimately not good enough. On reflection we got what we

:04:28. > :04:31.deserved, which is nothing. A blunt an honest assessment, the Ospreys

:04:32. > :04:36.bubble bursting after the first three weeks. Credit to Leinster, the

:04:37. > :04:40.pace and ferocity they launched himself into contact, something to

:04:41. > :04:47.behold. The forwards were outstanding, particularly the first

:04:48. > :04:52.half. Pretty relentless. The ball carrying, particularly early on,

:04:53. > :04:56.outstanding. What impressed me, picking and going from the ruck.

:04:57. > :05:04.Attacking the first and second offenders. You highlight Justin

:05:05. > :05:07.Tipuric, Alun Wyn Jones. This part impressed me, with Healy. Attacking

:05:08. > :05:15.the first and second offender, attacking the third. One on one

:05:16. > :05:20.against James King, the power getting them over. Great line-out

:05:21. > :05:26.left, although the Ospreys don't compete in the 22. Jamie Heaslip,

:05:27. > :05:30.number eight, the Leinster title end, they worked their socks off to

:05:31. > :05:36.get the drive going forward. They get the spines in there, pretty

:05:37. > :05:44.relentless. Sapping the energy of the Ospreys' forwards. Dominating

:05:45. > :05:48.that area, going towards the line. As I said at the beginning, very

:05:49. > :05:54.relentless, very controlled. They were superb or leaving. You see

:05:55. > :05:58.where a lot of the action took place, they gave away penalties in

:05:59. > :06:01.the first, Alun Wyn Jones saying the discipline was not good enough. Some

:06:02. > :06:06.of that was the pressure of the Leinster Ford

:06:07. > :06:12.-- front five. They gave the platform for Jonny Sexton to take

:06:13. > :06:16.over, the variety in his game, brilliant. The very blustery

:06:17. > :06:22.evening, you have to be assured of your kicking. Did not go too far,

:06:23. > :06:28.just putting it into the stands. Very good position. Distribution

:06:29. > :06:32.good. Taking the borderline. Feeding any of the forwards. When it was

:06:33. > :06:35.slow ball, they just turned up, kept the pressure on. The Ospreys keeping

:06:36. > :06:44.in the game. Orchestrating everything. Picking out one of the

:06:45. > :06:47.forwards. Very simple try. Towards the end of the first half,

:06:48. > :06:53.possession they had, look where they are attacking from. Putting them in

:06:54. > :06:58.this position. Easy try. Very solid performance from Leinster, taking

:06:59. > :07:04.the game to the Ospreys. The front five laying the platform. They were

:07:05. > :07:08.convincing winners. Jonny Sexton putting his name forward for the

:07:09. > :07:14.Lions. Much was made about the selection from the Ospreys. Dan

:07:15. > :07:21.Biggar coming back in, Sam Davies shifted to 15, not a specialist. Was

:07:22. > :07:24.that the wrong decision? The coach was honest about his assessment of

:07:25. > :07:30.the Ospreys. They have both been playing extremely well. Dan Evans,

:07:31. > :07:36.do you drop him, Sam Davies not playing there. If you are playing

:07:37. > :07:41.well, the systems are going well, looking good attacking wise. You

:07:42. > :07:48.pick Sam Davies at ten, maybe bringing down on. Selection will be

:07:49. > :07:53.crucial in the next games. You pick the player who deserves to be

:07:54. > :07:59.picked. On form, Davies and Evans were the key players. Did not make

:08:00. > :08:04.any difference on Friday night. They were totally outplayed upfront. If

:08:05. > :08:12.you put anyone at ten, would not have made a difference. We will find

:08:13. > :08:14.out how they got on against the defending champions, Connacht,

:08:15. > :08:16.before that Scott Williams got more than he bargained for in an

:08:17. > :08:47.interview this week. Who inspired you to play rugby? My

:08:48. > :08:52.parents, my father played rugby. Going up, watching him play, always

:08:53. > :08:56.wanted to play. Apart from you is the best player at the Scarlets?

:08:57. > :09:02.John Barclay, James Davis, even though if he's watching this, he

:09:03. > :09:08.will love the fact I said his name. If you could change one rule in

:09:09. > :09:14.Rugby, what would you change? No scrums. Get rid of the scrums. Who

:09:15. > :09:23.has the best singing voice at the Scarlets? Ken Owens, always singing.

:09:24. > :09:34.Who is the drama queen at the Scarlets? Jake Ball, Samson Lee. All

:09:35. > :09:41.the drama queens. What is going wrong with the Scarlets this season?

:09:42. > :09:49.The team is 25 tackles against Ulster, do you need new tackle

:09:50. > :09:50.backs? I think so, you are right. Can you help me with my homework,

:09:51. > :10:13.please? Are you going to sing with me? Go

:10:14. > :10:45.on, you start. And Scott started on the bench for

:10:46. > :10:51.the Scarlets, who made one change upfront. Aaron Schindler returning a

:10:52. > :10:57.blindside flanker. Liam Williams continuing on the wing. Connacht

:10:58. > :10:59.made six changes in the team that lost in the last match before it was

:11:00. > :11:07.abandoned. Solid scrum. Good tackle from them.

:11:08. > :11:42.Great try from a Luke -- Aluko. The ball getting out

:11:43. > :11:51.there, lovely break by Jake Cingular, one of few players getting

:11:52. > :11:55.forward for the Scarlets. Jones. The referee says a Connacht player has

:11:56. > :12:06.been pushed into a wide ball. Excellent play from John Davies.

:12:07. > :12:11.Liam Williams, what a try this is. Emre -- great hands from John

:12:12. > :12:12.Davies. Just what the crowd wanted, what the Scarlets needed. Is this

:12:13. > :12:32.the start of a comeback? The ball has gone down, Williams. He

:12:33. > :12:37.is away. Good seats from the winger. Slotting into the full-back role. I

:12:38. > :12:57.just want to check the grounding. Nothing wrong with that. I can award

:12:58. > :13:09.this right? Ken Owens, right beneath the shadow of the posts. Wider pass.

:13:10. > :13:16.Sensible play, drop goal. Has it gone over? The referee's arm has

:13:17. > :13:20.gone up. The Scarlets note it has. We had more territory in the second

:13:21. > :13:25.half, making sure we stayed there and finish them off. Pleasingly

:13:26. > :13:30.could do that, but still too many mistakes, missing touch. Shots at

:13:31. > :13:39.goal, we left a lot of points out there tonight. Conditions conspiring

:13:40. > :13:43.to make it and uninspiring spectacle. The Scarlets when care,

:13:44. > :13:47.off the mark. They have made no secret they want to play a quick

:13:48. > :13:53.paced, up-tempo game. Sometimes you have to put the brakes on. They're

:13:54. > :13:56.very lateral, want to play an expansive game, but you have to earn

:13:57. > :14:04.the right to go forward. I don't think they are doing that and not.

:14:05. > :14:09.Maybe placement for Ben Morgan. They pressurised, should have had nine

:14:10. > :14:14.points. Missing three kicks at goal. Nine points in those conditions

:14:15. > :14:21.would have been great. We saw some mistakes. The restart, going long.

:14:22. > :14:28.Also a kickable penalty. Because they have missed three kicks. They

:14:29. > :14:31.go along again. Mistake after mistake. In these conditions, you

:14:32. > :14:39.don't have to run. Shovelling bad ball on. Under pressure, Connacht

:14:40. > :14:43.for they score the try after the pressure from the Scarlets. They

:14:44. > :14:50.have to learn to be patient, kicks slower ball. Turn the pressure,

:14:51. > :14:58.again they go wide. The ball gets to Jake Schindler, he is over the gain

:14:59. > :15:04.line. They go wide, setting up a ruck in midfield. A little bit slow,

:15:05. > :15:14.little bit deep. Again brilliant skill, brilliant passing. Brilliant

:15:15. > :15:19.pass by Jonathan Davies. Easy things for Liam Williams. After this, they

:15:20. > :15:24.thought, hang on. A point behind. Going in front. They don't set it

:15:25. > :15:30.up. Old head, young shoulders, knocking it over. They had to score

:15:31. > :15:37.twice, with five minutes left. Good take by the scrum-half. Just get

:15:38. > :15:41.down there, restart. Play the final whistle, out you go. They have to

:15:42. > :15:48.learn play what's in front of them. Game management is so crucial. We

:15:49. > :15:54.applaud them, going wide. You cannot shovel bad ball on. Defences are so

:15:55. > :15:58.good. They have to be patient. We saw them tightening things up to

:15:59. > :16:02.close the game out. One other thing that will please the coaching team,

:16:03. > :16:12.how the line-out functioned. Disrupting Connacht at will. A real

:16:13. > :16:22.point of contention. Disrupting the opposition. Jake Ball, they are all

:16:23. > :16:27.highlighted there. Chasing forward, the system is a zonal system. Jake

:16:28. > :16:35.Ball attacks, gets up at the front. Bodies in the air, putting pressure.

:16:36. > :16:48.They get the takeover. Great reactions. They made a mess of the

:16:49. > :16:52.Connacht line-out. When you are trying to simplify things as a

:16:53. > :16:57.coach, get a victory, great analysis work by the forwards. Great

:16:58. > :17:00.disruptive element of the game, making it difficult for Connacht to

:17:01. > :17:06.clear their lines. Get good quality ball in attack. They should have won

:17:07. > :17:12.that by 15 plus. Just too many mistakes. They are off the mark,

:17:13. > :17:16.they have a win. Another two tries from Liam Williams, they will be

:17:17. > :17:20.determined to hold on to him. Let's move to the Premiership, the tie of

:17:21. > :17:27.the round, Pontypridd against Merthyr. A little bit more spicy by

:17:28. > :17:36.the presence of del McIntosh and Lee Jarvis, the Merthyr coaching staff.

:17:37. > :17:43.Here we are, what are your thoughts on this? Fantastic on the grass is

:17:44. > :17:49.very green. Brilliant. Let's hope this afternoon it will be conducive

:17:50. > :17:55.to good rugby. How emotional is this occasion to date? Yesterday the

:17:56. > :18:03.first time I had seen it complete. The boys working. I had a few tears.

:18:04. > :18:11.A lot of people don't realise, I had to adapt to the muddy pitch. I liked

:18:12. > :18:17.a goose step. Great service. We can look forward to a running game. What

:18:18. > :18:22.do you reckon? They have done a good job.

:18:23. > :18:31.This is the one, he being made. Brand-new 3G pitch for a blood and

:18:32. > :18:39.thunder Welsh derby. The Valley commandos against the iron men. The

:18:40. > :18:44.only thing missing will be. We were not disappointed, it produced a

:18:45. > :18:50.5-star match. Merthyr powering into a 14-0 lead, two tries in the first

:18:51. > :18:56.quarter. This one from the outstanding loosehead, James Howell.

:18:57. > :19:01.If the iron men have the power, Pontypridd at the panache. Hitting

:19:02. > :19:07.back with two superb tries. Both from the old warhorse, Ceri Sweeney.

:19:08. > :19:13.14-13. Great contest, great derby. Still in the balance. Early in the

:19:14. > :19:19.second half, Rhys Williams and Alex Webber exchanged tries. Eventually

:19:20. > :19:27.the iron men took intro. Taking the road to the line for the bonus

:19:28. > :19:33.point. Late on, the loosehead again showing how to do it. Running like a

:19:34. > :19:41.rhino to send the winger whizzing over to top off a thrilling victory

:19:42. > :19:49.for Merthyr. How pleasing was the wind? Great. A battle of the

:19:50. > :19:53.valleys, to come here, not many sides have won this season. Over the

:19:54. > :19:59.last ten years, to get a victory, very pleasing. Fantastic valleys

:20:00. > :20:03.rugby occasion here. Merthyr fans will be celebrating long into the

:20:04. > :20:09.night. Here is a round-up of the rest of the Premiership.

:20:10. > :20:17.Another week, another bonus point for the wizards, seven tries, top of

:20:18. > :20:21.the table. 19 points from a possible 20. Easy wind? It was anything but.

:20:22. > :20:32.The fightback meaning it was neck and neck at one point. 26-25. They

:20:33. > :20:37.ran in again. Despite the challenge, champions ever fail, they are not

:20:38. > :20:44.letting go of their title easily. The steelmen capitalising, with the

:20:45. > :20:48.ravens reduced to 30 men at one stage. Four second-half tries

:20:49. > :20:52.ensuring the bonus point. Seven tries for Crosskeys, as Swansea

:20:53. > :20:57.continue to struggle in the Premiership. They lost the first two

:20:58. > :21:04.games of the season, now hitting some form. Two bonus point wins in a

:21:05. > :21:08.couple of weeks. Swansea managed a mini revival, could not catch the

:21:09. > :21:19.home side. Skipper Scott Matthews bagging a hat-trick. Life on the

:21:20. > :21:25.road is pretty good, they remain unbeaten. Tom Hughes scoring. The

:21:26. > :21:30.rest of the points coming from a try, penalty and two conversions.

:21:31. > :21:38.Quinn 's managing two tries during the 80 minutes. With three tries in

:21:39. > :21:41.the first 15 minutes, they were thinking they were heading for a

:21:42. > :21:47.comfortable win. Never pays to write off the Welsh All Blacks. They

:21:48. > :21:51.pushed them all the way. Ryan Thomas freeing the winger for the first

:21:52. > :21:58.try. Nerve wracking watch for all involved. The home side clinching

:21:59. > :22:03.victory in the final seconds. Cardiff went into this game having

:22:04. > :22:08.won both of their home fixtures. Their opponents had lost both of

:22:09. > :22:13.their away ties by narrow margins. This time the visitors came out on

:22:14. > :22:18.top in a close-run fixture. Nip and tuck all the way. Five yellow cards,

:22:19. > :22:26.three tries apiece. Jack Maynard kicking 13 points. In this

:22:27. > :22:28.afternoon's match, Newport securing their first win of the season. No

:22:29. > :23:05.change at the top. Beyond a dream start for Mark Jones,

:23:06. > :23:09.head coach of Scrum -- RGC. It will be a road trip for those fans

:23:10. > :23:12.heading north. Rick has been on the road, heading to a place that will

:23:13. > :23:19.commemorate a particular the poignant anniversary.

:23:20. > :23:25.As we watched the use of this rugby club playing on grave field, almost

:23:26. > :23:34.impossible to imagine the horrors of the events that unfolded on October

:23:35. > :23:39.the 21st, 1966. On the morning that a waste tip slid down a mountainside

:23:40. > :23:45.into the mining village of Aberfan. Claiming the lives of 144 people.

:23:46. > :23:52.Including 116 children from the primary school. The club secretary

:23:53. > :23:56.was a pupil at the school that day. We heard a terrible noise like jet

:23:57. > :24:01.taking off. Everything started shaking and vibrating. Plaster and

:24:02. > :24:07.water coming off the walls and the ceiling, the teacher came in from a

:24:08. > :24:12.told us to get under the desks. All of a sudden, we saw the caretaker at

:24:13. > :24:16.the window for breaking the window, opening the window, begging us the

:24:17. > :24:23.climax, using the desks as a makeshift ladder. We climbed out,

:24:24. > :24:28.ran home. My mother said, what are you doing home? All I can say, I

:24:29. > :24:37.don't know, the school is falling down. You played a bit yourself. Now

:24:38. > :24:41.transferring into management of the game. Things going well? Not too

:24:42. > :24:47.bad, we have a section giving strength to strength, three or four

:24:48. > :24:55.teams. Under 16 side. Youth rugby this afternoon. Two senior teams at

:24:56. > :25:02.2:30 p.m.. Not doing too bad. This club did not exist 20 years ago, how

:25:03. > :25:08.did it come about? At the turn-of-the-century, 2000, there

:25:09. > :25:15.were two clubs, both forming in the 1970s. For over 30 years there was a

:25:16. > :25:18.healthy rivalry between the two villages, in the 90s, both sides

:25:19. > :25:26.started to struggle. The sensible way was to try and do something

:25:27. > :25:33.together to keep the rugby going. At the start, archenemies. It all came

:25:34. > :25:39.together. As the years went on, we were the first true region. Sounds

:25:40. > :25:48.like you invented regional rugby? We were there first. It is the merger

:25:49. > :25:55.of two teams who were massive rivals? Could you imagine a time

:25:56. > :26:03.would come? Never mind what happens, that will never take place. We

:26:04. > :26:06.started a youth side in the second year, under 15, under 16. The minis

:26:07. > :26:19.from eight up. It is up to develop those

:26:20. > :26:25.players and keep them. At the minute the Welsh football scene is very

:26:26. > :26:30.much on the up. There is a football pitch taking over the team. It is a

:26:31. > :26:37.bit narrow for rugby. Could do with turning around. We are looking to

:26:38. > :26:43.get a 3G pitch. Maybe Merthyr can hand it to us. I would think you are

:26:44. > :26:49.feeling quite comfortable about the future of this club. Looking to

:26:50. > :26:54.build, three teams out. Three or four games to morrow with the minis

:26:55. > :27:00.and juniors, looking good. -- tomorrow. There will be a series of

:27:01. > :27:05.special programmes across BBC Wales can

:27:06. > :27:14.-- commemorating that disaster. And the victims. Amid the furore around

:27:15. > :27:18.Warren Gatland's appointment as coach of the lines. You may have

:27:19. > :27:25.missed the new head coach of Wales. He gave his first interview on

:27:26. > :27:30.Friday. You are Head Coach, as opposed to interim coach last time.

:27:31. > :27:35.How significant is that? I see it as interim head coach. Warren Gatland

:27:36. > :27:39.coming back in 12 months. Certainly a different feel about it now.

:27:40. > :27:48.Warren Gatland has said he's going until 2019. It is an opportunity,

:27:49. > :27:53.I'm very proud. I know we have a really good coaching team. Delighted

:27:54. > :27:58.to bring Matt on from the Cardiff Blues. A left-field appointment to

:27:59. > :28:03.many. Not really on the radar at Bristol. He has been at the Blues

:28:04. > :28:08.since the start of this season. What told you he was the right guy? Ends

:28:09. > :28:13.July, when we came back from New Zealand, between the regions, and

:28:14. > :28:18.the national setup, there has been a lot of exchange of information. Part

:28:19. > :28:22.of that meeting up with all of the attacking coaches. I met Matt from

:28:23. > :28:26.that first official meeting, I watched with interest, the Cardiff

:28:27. > :28:31.Blues. It is a gut feeling. Left-field choice. Personally I

:28:32. > :28:37.think it is the right choice for the right time. Are you concerned it may

:28:38. > :28:43.be seen as a kick in the teeth for Welsh coaches, who have been in the

:28:44. > :28:52.system for a while? I did not. To be honest, you pick the personnel which

:28:53. > :28:55.is right for the right time. He seems a very astute and tactical

:28:56. > :29:00.coach. I like his attention to detail. We have the right person,

:29:01. > :29:03.I'm looking forward to working with him. One thing you will have to work

:29:04. > :29:11.with is the senior player selection policy. We have seen the list of

:29:12. > :29:16.seven players, Warren Gatland's law. You can call it that. How do you

:29:17. > :29:22.feel it has been imposed at the time you have taken over? I'm quite

:29:23. > :29:25.comfortable. We have a huge responsibility as Welsh coaches, the

:29:26. > :29:33.Welsh Rugby union. Looking after the succession plan. When you look at

:29:34. > :29:40.the Sam Davies, Keegan Giles, we want those players who stay in

:29:41. > :29:44.Wales. A senior bunch of players have made a decision to stay in

:29:45. > :29:49.Wales, benefiting from the number of games, the medical, the analysis.

:29:50. > :29:55.Huge incentives to stay in Wales. Some players making a decision,

:29:56. > :30:00.selfish decision for them, to go away, making that decision, knowing

:30:01. > :30:07.about this for a period of time. I am comfortable, looking forward to

:30:08. > :30:12.the challenges. Selection, for the next four, five games. You won't

:30:13. > :30:15.have to make any dramatic emissions, looking at the seven players, the

:30:16. > :30:17.amount of wild cards at your disposal, you can manoeuvre to pick

:30:18. > :30:26.the players you want? It comes down to performance, that

:30:27. > :30:30.is the bottom line. And to what extent will be see a different

:30:31. > :30:33.looking Wales in terms of style and personnel given that Warren Gatland

:30:34. > :30:37.will not have an input in this period? This was discussed backing

:30:38. > :30:41.June, July and August regarding the style of play and the exposure of

:30:42. > :30:47.our game out in New Zealand in particular. They have certainly got

:30:48. > :30:52.the right model in New Zealand in terms of the ability of their front

:30:53. > :30:57.five to have a high skill level. It is something we are very mindful of.

:30:58. > :31:01.It is work in progress and we have exchanged a lot of information with

:31:02. > :31:05.the regions, a two-way process, and that will help us going into the

:31:06. > :31:10.autumn series in terms of style of play but also the key in the next

:31:11. > :31:16.ten months is to win and be successful on the international

:31:17. > :31:22.field. Lots of interesting stuff to come out of that chat with Rob. And

:31:23. > :31:28.we ended on the style of play, the abolition of style, and didn't we

:31:29. > :31:31.see a change in New Zealand? If they are to continue to evolve it to

:31:32. > :31:39.change the personnel, I asked. Do they? I think it looks relaxed. More

:31:40. > :31:46.than four years ago, he has got the experience. But I think it is a bit

:31:47. > :31:50.of a grenade for him. Expectation will be high because Australia are

:31:51. > :31:56.going well. We would expect to beat Argentina, Japan. Baby three out of

:31:57. > :32:01.four. That is the expectation aspect. Will they change style? They

:32:02. > :32:07.said they are evolving, I can't see much of that happening. They played

:32:08. > :32:09.wide against easier and, and it seems that when they lose the ball

:32:10. > :32:15.New Zealand score. They have to work on that. The question is, if the

:32:16. > :32:18.change it, do they then change the personnel, or do they think the

:32:19. > :32:23.current players can change their style? That is the question. It is

:32:24. > :32:26.very difficult at the moment. I think if they are going to change it

:32:27. > :32:30.drastically they will have to change personnel, and it depends how much

:32:31. > :32:34.they want to change it. The crucial answer for me there was

:32:35. > :32:38.international rugby is about winning. If they think they can win

:32:39. > :32:42.playing the style they have, and sure they will go the same style in

:32:43. > :32:49.combination with a little bit of tweaking. It will be interesting. It

:32:50. > :32:54.is a difficult time, it is a tough November calendar, and then going

:32:55. > :32:59.into the Six Nations, fighting for places for the Lions. And his stamp

:33:00. > :33:03.will be honoured, because before Warren Gatland was overseeing it,

:33:04. > :33:06.and now it is up to Rob. I wish well and hope he does make a few changes

:33:07. > :33:15.and evolve and play a bit differently. Do you think they will

:33:16. > :33:19.change? Sam Davies, he on the front foot, Dan hasn't played enough, so

:33:20. > :33:24.we have to see how this one goes. The Blues are going well, you put

:33:25. > :33:31.Scott Williams, Roberts, to play a bit differently. Those are the two

:33:32. > :33:34.crucial areas of selection, ten and 12. Those are the ones that will

:33:35. > :33:37.orchestrate how Wales want to play. Liam Williams will have to be on

:33:38. > :33:45.full-back and Lee Harvey on the wing. Those changes will be crucial

:33:46. > :33:50.to this autumn. Tell us about Matt Sherrod, bit of a left-field choice,

:33:51. > :33:57.not on their radar of anyone. We worked together at Worcester. He is

:33:58. > :34:04.a lovely guy, very inquisitive about the game, like some expansive style

:34:05. > :34:08.of rugby. Some of the work I signed at Worcester was very impressive in

:34:09. > :34:14.respect of helping players understand how to create space, good

:34:15. > :34:16.decision-making under pressure. And if we want to change our style,

:34:17. > :34:21.those things will be absolutely crucial. The distribution, like

:34:22. > :34:25.Jonathan mentioned, ten and 12 for me as well is an extremely

:34:26. > :34:28.interesting selection because everyone to change style we have to

:34:29. > :34:33.get good distributed as, and that will be the challenge. Briefly, he

:34:34. > :34:38.did ignore a couple of guys who have been in the Welsh scene for many a

:34:39. > :34:43.year, Griff Rhys and Jones. Would you have gone with them? Stephen is

:34:44. > :34:47.learning his trade, sure he will be an outstanding coach he was

:34:48. > :34:52.outstanding player, and knowing him and his work ethic, but Griff Rhys

:34:53. > :34:58.for me would have been an outstanding candidate. He would have

:34:59. > :35:02.been a serious candidate. Thanks, chaps, we have to move on. And on to

:35:03. > :35:16.the Cardiff Blues. They were on the road, taking their unbeaten record

:35:17. > :35:21.to Parma. COMMENTATOR: And you look front row for Cardiff Blues. Stephen

:35:22. > :35:27.Shingle at number ten. Gethin Jenkins was on the bench, so sham

:35:28. > :35:34.Warburton captained the side. Zebre welcome back Johan Meyer for his

:35:35. > :35:36.first art of the season. COMMENTATOR: Good pressure from

:35:37. > :35:41.Zebre. Always a different proposition at home, the Italians.

:35:42. > :35:47.They are camped on the line, and they take it up short. Just inches

:35:48. > :35:54.to go for a Zebre. And they are over. The first try goes to the

:35:55. > :35:58.Italians, and it is the scrum-half getting the congratulations. Lloyd

:35:59. > :36:10.Williams delaying his pastor Scully who cuts a clear line to score the

:36:11. > :36:16.first for the Blues. It is Cory Allen with a little dink through.

:36:17. > :36:24.Brilliantly done by the full-back. And it is a second for the Blues.

:36:25. > :36:30.And here is Tom James. At Uighurs James. You won't catch, that is a

:36:31. > :36:42.third of the season for the inform winger. Out on the left-hand side,

:36:43. > :36:46.and there is Giulio Bisegni. They are not giving up yet, the Italians.

:36:47. > :36:51.This looks promising for Zebre, if they can move the bouncing ball. It

:36:52. > :37:00.must be a score for Giovanbattista Venditti. And Zebre can get a droid

:37:01. > :37:08.of this. And it is all on Edoardo Padovani. But he has screwed it, and

:37:09. > :37:12.the Blues live again. STUDIO: It was scrappy and a little bit nail-biting

:37:13. > :37:15.at the end with that missed conversion, but it is another win,

:37:16. > :37:20.and in the scheme of things, Jonathan, that is all that matters.

:37:21. > :37:24.The way they started, they would be disappointed. I saw Danny Wilson's

:37:25. > :37:30.post-match interview, and they are happy with the win. But with three

:37:31. > :37:34.tries, and the way would have expected four tries to come away

:37:35. > :37:39.with the with a bonus point. But lucky with the missed conversion.

:37:40. > :37:43.Indeed. And it is a defining period coming back because they are back at

:37:44. > :37:50.Cardiff Arms Park where Leinster and visitors, then the small matter of

:37:51. > :37:53.Welsh derby the Ospreys. They are four out of four, but this will

:37:54. > :37:59.determine whether they are contenders this season. It was a

:38:00. > :38:03.close game yesterday, they are happy with the win, but the previous three

:38:04. > :38:06.performances happen pretty clinical and comprehensive in certain areas,

:38:07. > :38:11.particularly their ball carrying has improved. Their set piece is strong,

:38:12. > :38:20.their scrum as they are. They have a platform to play, and a good kicking

:38:21. > :38:26.game. The game at the moment, they are in a good position to take on

:38:27. > :38:31.Leinster. They are scoring tries and defending a lot better, that is the

:38:32. > :38:36.key. I think the Ospreys' game will be the big one. We're all looking

:38:37. > :38:38.forward to that, in a fortnight. Onto the Dragons, and the two were

:38:39. > :38:56.on the road in Italy this weekend. Seven changes for the Dragons with a

:38:57. > :39:05.Muscat hanning for the first time and I debut on the other wing.

:39:06. > :39:12.Treviso were without players injured in their defeat to the Ospreys.

:39:13. > :39:22.COMMENTATOR: Treviso try to get this rolling ball in motion. I did goes

:39:23. > :39:32.to midfield. A foot race for the line, and the first try goes to

:39:33. > :39:37.Treviso. Most jinking run. Who is in support? A lovely dummy from the

:39:38. > :39:43.second row, back to Davis. Now the Dragons looked dangerous. One more

:39:44. > :39:53.phase. Davis, and the big man crashing through, using his power.

:39:54. > :39:58.Treviso into the Dragons' 22. I good handoff from the number seven. Some

:39:59. > :40:02.football required from Treviso. The scrum-half inching closer to the

:40:03. > :40:08.line. They are screaming that the ball is being held on to. Treviso

:40:09. > :40:14.described to go blind, one more phase, and there it is, no mistake,

:40:15. > :40:20.gets the ball down. It is a good, clean take again from Marco Lata

:40:21. > :40:26.Ronnie. Treviso now beginning to shift this rolling maul towards the

:40:27. > :40:37.try line, and now the break. Good defence from the Dragons. Treviso

:40:38. > :40:45.are pounding away. A desperate time for the Dragons, and Marco Fuser is

:40:46. > :40:51.over, that victory down keys in their first of the season. Another

:40:52. > :40:56.defeat for the Dragons, and a disappointing one. A grievance that

:40:57. > :41:01.the Dragons have, that was one of two games in Italy this weekend that

:41:02. > :41:04.did not have TML, we're not suggesting it would have changed the

:41:05. > :41:09.results, but there were a couple of incidents file play that were missed

:41:10. > :41:13.simply because there was no records to the TMO, and the line judges did

:41:14. > :41:17.not have their microphones working so they could not committed with the

:41:18. > :41:21.referee. That is an issue that league should address. It has to be

:41:22. > :41:25.there in every game. If they want credibility as a league, like the

:41:26. > :41:30.French 14 and the English Premiership, they have to have TMOs

:41:31. > :41:36.everywhere. It is ridiculous they haven't. Absolutely. It is a

:41:37. > :41:41.disgraceful stop there is too much at stake not to have a TMO, and

:41:42. > :41:46.other competent TMO as well. Simple as that. I thought the first try was

:41:47. > :41:52.grounded, and when they awarded the try to go scored, he was in

:41:53. > :41:58.surprise. And now TMOs to refer to. The Dragons aggrieved. They have a

:41:59. > :42:01.tough game coming up against Glasgow. Glasgow just missed out

:42:02. > :42:07.against Ulster at the weekend. It was a belter of a game at the

:42:08. > :42:14.Scotstoun Stadium. Ulster are top of the league right now. Seventh try of

:42:15. > :42:22.the season for their player in this game. Two tough games coming up.

:42:23. > :42:26.With the Dragons, Treviso was a bad result. Treviso have a bigger budget

:42:27. > :42:31.than the Dragons. It is up to them, they should be doing better so there

:42:32. > :42:34.is no surprise there. But with the Dragons, it is the fact they have a

:42:35. > :42:42.lot of good youngsters, but they haven't got that extra income. The

:42:43. > :42:47.Welsh players, and also the extra dog might be looking for change in

:42:48. > :42:52.investment. If they can get that and have some experience, added to the

:42:53. > :42:58.youngsters, hopefully it will become better. But at the moment it is what

:42:59. > :43:04.it is. I don't think you can expect much, the odd result. Can they

:43:05. > :43:08.expect victory against Glasgow? It will be a huge challenge for them.

:43:09. > :43:13.They did well against Munster the week before last, and it will be a

:43:14. > :43:17.massive challenge. As Jonathan says, it is what it is. They need time to

:43:18. > :43:22.grow. There are some outstanding youngsters, and the need time to

:43:23. > :43:26.build and grow. And people realise they are up against it to a degree,

:43:27. > :43:30.with the budget, but there is a lot of effort going in. The crowd has to

:43:31. > :43:34.get behind them and make it a fortress full stop because they can

:43:35. > :43:37.still do the basics, the kicking of the tackling, and make it difficult.

:43:38. > :43:44.But expectations cannot be that great. I'm sure there will be a

:43:45. > :43:48.vocal crowd, it is our featured game. Make sure you join us for

:43:49. > :43:52.that. That is all we have time for this evening. Thanks to Jonathan,

:43:53. > :43:59.and to fill and for you for watching at home.
