:00:28. > :00:44.The great Glen, a land of myths and legends. On the shores of Loch Ness

:00:45. > :00:51.Glen, one of shinty's oldest clubs. 130 years of history, but never the

:00:52. > :00:56.biggest prize, the Camanachd Cup. The closest they have come, the

:00:57. > :01:02.fairy tale Final in 1988 when they lead but lost to Kingussie. Once

:01:03. > :01:07.dubbed the most successful team in world sport the Kings were the first

:01:08. > :01:18.winners of the Camanachd cup in 1896. 22 times they have listed the

:01:19. > :01:25.famous trophy -- lifted the famous trophy, but in this land of myths,

:01:26. > :01:38.legends and fairy tales and omen 2014 saw a famous club win their cup

:01:39. > :01:45.after weighting 130 years. The 2014 Scottish Cup is St Johnstone's does

:01:46. > :01:53.destiny now call for men from the Glen? The main moment in the shinty

:01:54. > :02:00.world is finally here, and so to thankfully other teams. Glenurquhart

:02:01. > :02:06.Shinty Club hoping to win the shinty cup for the first time in their 130

:02:07. > :02:11.year history, the side that beat them the last time they were in the

:02:12. > :02:16.final was Kingussie who they are up against. Welcome to the Camanachd

:02:17. > :02:21.Cup Finals of 2014 here at Bught Park in Inverness, this year between

:02:22. > :02:25.Kingussie and Glenurquhart. The action gets underway in 15 minutes

:02:26. > :02:30.time and it's an absolutely glorious day in Inverness, it has to be said.

:02:31. > :02:35.There is a hugely pungent atmosphere in the Highland capital and the

:02:36. > :02:38.crowds have come with the weather absolutely glorious and you can hear

:02:39. > :02:45.the strains of the pipe band in the background. This really is the big

:02:46. > :02:48.one, this is the big one, both metaphorically and physically. The

:02:49. > :02:51.Camanachd Cup Finals, the World Cup of shinty, the trophy that every

:02:52. > :02:54.shinty player wants to win. Thankfully I'm joined by two players

:02:55. > :03:04.who know exactly what it's like to wind this shinty trophy, Fraser

:03:05. > :03:09.Inglis and another former Scotland international. How do you see this

:03:10. > :03:11.afternoon's match going? It will be tight, they are third and fourth in

:03:12. > :03:15.the league, they have played each other twice and got one each so it

:03:16. > :03:18.could not be tighter going into the game and the managers will have a

:03:19. > :03:24.pivotal role in what tactics to pick. It could be the decision that

:03:25. > :03:28.wins the cup. It is a glorious day in Inverness, perfect for the

:03:29. > :03:32.Camanachd Cup Finals, and both sides have a real reason to win today,

:03:33. > :03:36.Glen Urquhart in the final for only their second time in their history

:03:37. > :03:40.and Kingussie with a poignant centenary celebration, how do you

:03:41. > :03:46.see the match going? Kyles will feel this is their best opportunity. As

:03:47. > :03:49.Fraser said they are very close in league action having played each

:03:50. > :03:53.other twice and one apiece, so we are in for a cracker today. I would

:03:54. > :03:57.say it is too tight to call. We will discuss it in more depth shortly but

:03:58. > :04:01.for the moment thank you very much. I've been talking to a few key

:04:02. > :04:10.players and managers in either camp, including one player who made the

:04:11. > :04:21.journey from Africa. My mother 's family was from John -- and after 11

:04:22. > :04:26.years of living in Zambia we came to live here. I saw the boys in

:04:27. > :04:31.training one day, the under 12, and thought I would have a go. And then

:04:32. > :04:35.it took off as a shinty player. You only talk about the Camanachd, it's

:04:36. > :04:42.the one thing to get to. The finally get there now it is unbelievable.

:04:43. > :04:46.Our boys have been in three senior finals in the last couple of

:04:47. > :04:52.seasons, so they are not completely un-used to the big occasion and have

:04:53. > :04:56.played well this year and will finish third in the league and

:04:57. > :04:59.Kingussie will finish fourth. I think Kingussie will go in

:05:00. > :05:02.favourites in the big match location. It's only the third time

:05:03. > :05:08.we have reached the final in 130 years so it's not a good record. The

:05:09. > :05:12.Kingussie team of 88 were at the peak of their powers so we have

:05:13. > :05:16.worked really hard to put in a good performance. Over Loch Ness and into

:05:17. > :05:20.the Ken dawns, another veteran of the 1988 final has been casting his

:05:21. > :05:28.eye over Kingussie's current crop. His fond memories of that famous

:05:29. > :05:33.game. Glen Urquhart played very well on that date and Kingussie didn't.

:05:34. > :05:38.They lead for a long period before Kingussie overcame them 4-2. It was

:05:39. > :05:41.great for everybody and was a great spectacle and it was a great game.

:05:42. > :05:46.Kingussie's last Camanachd Cup triumph came in 2006 with Ronald

:05:47. > :05:51.Ross scoring all four goals in their victory over Fort William. Their

:05:52. > :05:56.captain that date says they remain as potent a goal-scoring threat.

:05:57. > :06:00.Ronald was one of the best scorers and best players the game has ever

:06:01. > :06:05.seen. To have him back in the squad for tomorrow is a massive boost. You

:06:06. > :06:11.will see him tomorrow. During the game and in training, he is as fit

:06:12. > :06:15.as he has ever been. We have played Glen Urquhart a couple of times this

:06:16. > :06:20.season and lost one and 11. They will be the same. The team that

:06:21. > :06:28.plays best on the day will win. -- won one. This is a hugely poignant

:06:29. > :06:31.day for Kingussie, 100 years ago in 1914 day won the Camanachd Cup

:06:32. > :06:35.Finals. The players that played that day went on to fight in the Great

:06:36. > :06:39.War, and six of them never returned. They died in battle. They will be

:06:40. > :06:44.remembered today by the Kingussie team who are wearing special

:06:45. > :06:47.commemorative shirts to show their respect for former Kingussie players

:06:48. > :06:52.who died in battle. Let's have a look at this year's progress to the

:06:53. > :06:57.Camanachd Cup Finals in this year's Kingussie team. It started with a 2

:06:58. > :07:03.-1 victory over Lovat. Genini and Borthwick on the scoresheet. Then a

:07:04. > :07:09.1-0 victory over Kelly's athletic, Genini again the goal-scorer. In the

:07:10. > :07:14.semifinal it was nip and tuck. 2-2 against Fort William and Genini

:07:15. > :07:19.again on the scoresheet -- Kelly's athletic. Eventually it went to

:07:20. > :07:23.penalties which Kingussie's won. Ronald Ross, the great Rinaldo of

:07:24. > :07:29.the Glens as he is known. He still going strong. He's the one player

:07:30. > :07:35.everyone has heard of. -- Ronaldo of the Glens. Maybe seems to be quite

:07:36. > :07:42.sure if there is life in the old dog. We saw that Ronald scored a

:07:43. > :07:50.goal on 90 minutes and the two vital penalties. This is in an earlier

:07:51. > :07:57.game. The semifinal. The ball breaks to Ronald and that's the power he

:07:58. > :08:01.has. That gave Kingussie the upper hand in that game and when it came

:08:02. > :08:06.to the penalties he took the first one so he has proved crucial in this

:08:07. > :08:13.year's, edition and who is to say he will not be crucial again today? Is

:08:14. > :08:19.this his swansong? He's achieved more than anybody else and yet 20

:08:20. > :08:24.years after he played in his first final he is just as hungry. He might

:08:25. > :08:29.be backs next year. He keeps himself fit and mentally he still wants to

:08:30. > :08:31.play. It's going to be exciting to see him in action. Let's talk about

:08:32. > :08:35.Glen Urquhart who made it through the various rounds to this year's

:08:36. > :08:43.Camanachd Cup Finals starting with a 5-3 victory over Lochaber. In round

:08:44. > :08:44.three and impressive 3-1 victory over in their area. James MacPherson

:08:45. > :08:59.with two of the goals this time. -- let's talk about James MacPherson,

:09:00. > :09:03.the top scorer in the Camanachd Cup this year. How important a player

:09:04. > :09:08.will he be if Glen Urquhart hope to win the trophy at last? He's the man

:09:09. > :09:11.who's been scoring for Glen Urquhart and they will look for him again to

:09:12. > :09:20.hit the back of the net. In the semifinals against Skye, the ball

:09:21. > :09:24.comes out, and he ran over and he shouts and slips inside the player

:09:25. > :09:29.and unleashes an unstoppable shot. James has the quality that you have

:09:30. > :09:32.two have to be one of the best players and it's a bit of

:09:33. > :09:36.selfishness and he has that and that is why he is the top goal-scorer for

:09:37. > :09:41.Glen Urquhart at this point. Absolutely. Let's talk about today

:09:42. > :09:46.predictions wise. They are third and fourth in the league, they've played

:09:47. > :09:51.each other a couple of times and one has gone either way. What is your

:09:52. > :09:54.prediction for today's match? Glen Urquhart are the more settled team

:09:55. > :09:59.and slightly younger and they have more options, more positional

:10:00. > :10:02.options and more men on the bench. If they get the tactics right this

:10:03. > :10:06.could be the day for them. One of their tactics has to be how to deal

:10:07. > :10:10.with Ronald. If they get that right back or be the first time Glen

:10:11. > :10:17.Urquhart win the cup. You think it could be Glen Urquhart? Yes. My

:10:18. > :10:21.prediction is for a great game of shinty. I'd love to see Glen

:10:22. > :10:24.Urquhart win, the opportunity to take the cup back to Glen Urquhart

:10:25. > :10:28.for the first time would be huge and we have the chance for a bit of

:10:29. > :10:32.history. I wish Kingussie the best but I would love to see Glen

:10:33. > :10:36.Urquhart take it home today for shinty. Gary will be the

:10:37. > :10:41.co-commentator today. It's about to get underway. Let's throw to your

:10:42. > :10:44.match commentator today, the one and only Hugh Dan MacLennan.

:10:45. > :10:51.COMMENTATOR: These are tremendous scenes. What many people believe to

:10:52. > :10:57.be the home of the Camanachd Cup Finals, the Bught Park in Inverness

:10:58. > :11:01.bought from a local farmer, Mr McBain, in 1923 by the local

:11:02. > :11:06.authority and ever since it has been the spiritual home of this great

:11:07. > :11:11.event, although it does go to other territories in the shinty playing

:11:12. > :11:16.community, it is a fabulous setting today played against the background,

:11:17. > :11:20.I must say, of hundreds of Highland athletes tossing the caber, throwing

:11:21. > :11:26.the weights, allsorts of stuff going on in the immediate environment of

:11:27. > :11:33.this wonderful pitch with the Inverness is leading the two teams

:11:34. > :11:38.out. Massively important occasion for both teams in shinty terms, in

:11:39. > :11:43.terms of their history as a club and in terms of the centenary of the

:11:44. > :11:46.First World War, as we heard. It is not just Kingussie commemorating the

:11:47. > :11:53.loss of many people. Glen Urquhart lost at least 50 people in that

:11:54. > :12:02.particular period. But today's event is commemorating the 1914 final of

:12:03. > :12:09.course and the Kingussie players now showing the special commemorative

:12:10. > :12:15.strips with the names, each player wearing the name of a player who

:12:16. > :12:29.played in that particular position. The President of the Camanachd

:12:30. > :12:54.Association's Sun will be playing today. -- son. James McClean will

:12:55. > :12:58.not be in the starting line-up. I'm sure he will appear in midfield.

:12:59. > :13:08.Plenty of support from the Glen, 14 miles to the west of Inverness. And

:13:09. > :13:14.who's to say that if the predictions are part predictions by my

:13:15. > :13:23.co-commentator, Gary Innis, it will be a great location. If it went back

:13:24. > :13:28.with them, maybe even Nessie herself would be there to welcome them. But

:13:29. > :13:33.there is a very big obstacle to get past it for the can even think about

:13:34. > :13:43.that. The Kingussie team. Eddie Tembo, the skipper. He has a

:13:44. > :13:56.wonderful sense of humour. You would have to to have a haircut! And the

:13:57. > :14:01.chieftain of the Camanachd Association Jock Turner in the

:14:02. > :14:07.background of Bute and Kyles athletic. I know that Kyles athletic

:14:08. > :14:17.would have loved to be here today but they found Kingussie that much

:14:18. > :14:22.of an obstacle also. I hesitate to say, but he is meeting his own team

:14:23. > :14:34.but I'm sure he will temporarily set aside his loyalties. No doubt there

:14:35. > :14:40.will be a firmness to the handshake. Because there is an awful long

:14:41. > :14:51.period here that the cup has not come back to the Glen. 130 years.

:14:52. > :14:56.McAllister will also be involved in presenting the trophies at the end

:14:57. > :15:00.of the game. Absolutely glorious setting looking towards the town end

:15:01. > :15:12.of the pitch from the ice Rink end, for those of you who know the

:15:13. > :15:16.Inverness setting. It is shirtsleeve order. The chocolate biscuits are

:15:17. > :15:28.melting in the commentary position. The window is open. Mr Innis is

:15:29. > :15:33.calming and cooling having taken off his very swanky jacket he's wearing

:15:34. > :15:39.today. Much too warm for the conditions, I suspect. The teams are

:15:40. > :15:44.splitting up now. Let's have a look at the line-up formations because

:15:45. > :15:50.they are interesting. Kingussie in their usual lines. They have very

:15:51. > :15:56.strong defence, very good midfield and up front is the key. Is today

:15:57. > :16:01.the day that the Borthwicks and Geninis of the world will make a

:16:02. > :16:05.name for themselves? Glen Urquhart very strong at the back. John Barr

:16:06. > :16:12.is a rock at full-back but there is an issue about his hamstring. Up

:16:13. > :16:17.front they have goals aplenty. MacPherson is perfectly capable of

:16:18. > :16:24.breaching the Kingussie defence. The captain is Eddie Tembo, who has

:16:25. > :16:30.lined up in midfield. I suspect Glen Urquhart will make a tactical change

:16:31. > :16:35.here pushing Fraser Munro forward. We will have a look at that. The

:16:36. > :16:40.referee is David Mitchell, who is having a bit of difficulty getting

:16:41. > :16:44.the ball in play. So we have Glen Urquhart in the red and black hoops

:16:45. > :16:50.and we have Kingussie in their red and blue strip. Glen Urquhart team

:16:51. > :16:53.heading towards their home area to the west of the town, right-to-left,

:16:54. > :16:59.Kingussie playing from left to right. Gary Innis has joined me in

:17:00. > :17:05.the commentary team. You were sitting on the fence before the

:17:06. > :17:08.match, it's time to come of it. I would like to see Glen Urquhart take

:17:09. > :17:11.it and they have a great chance but we've seen time and time again the

:17:12. > :17:17.Ronald Ross show and you could not put that passed them today. We will

:17:18. > :17:21.have a look at the great man who has lined up way over to our right hand

:17:22. > :17:28.side at the moment. The collision between himself and John Barr will

:17:29. > :17:33.be key in this game. As the midfield will be in particular, for allsorts

:17:34. > :17:41.of reasons. That is a good ball. And well dealt with by Craig Dawson. A

:17:42. > :17:45.converted goalkeeper, if we can call him that. A leading goal-scorer in

:17:46. > :17:50.his day. One of Kingussie's many green keepers. He will have a view

:17:51. > :17:57.on the state of the pitch which we will come back to, the immaculate

:17:58. > :18:03.Bught Park. A few of the players with a feeling that the grass might

:18:04. > :18:07.be a shade long. We will get Gary's view on that shortly. Let's see how

:18:08. > :18:11.Eddie Tembo deals with this. Good ball into the heart of the Kingussie

:18:12. > :18:18.defence and a chance, early chance for Glen Urquhart. The first goal is

:18:19. > :18:24.a cliche, it is always crucial. We saw in the 88 final, although you

:18:25. > :18:27.may not have seen it, the Glen got ahead in the 88 final and then they

:18:28. > :18:32.blew it. Could they do the same again today? Will they go for the

:18:33. > :18:35.early lead? Both teams will set out their stalls and try and get the

:18:36. > :18:40.early lead. That was the first effort of the day. Glen Urquhart

:18:41. > :18:43.will want to get ahead of themselves and settled themselves because

:18:44. > :18:47.Kingussie have a lot more experience in these positions. Just to go back

:18:48. > :18:51.to the bench, is there a feeling from some of the players the grass

:18:52. > :18:57.might be a shade long? Yes and unfortunately I'm one of the

:18:58. > :19:05.critics, Bught Park is never short enough and even when it is cut short

:19:06. > :19:10.it is not short enough for a final. Just a little bit too long for

:19:11. > :19:15.myself. I don't think any of these players will be caring about that at

:19:16. > :19:22.this point. The referee David Mitchell exerting his authority

:19:23. > :19:27.early on. The ball kicked away. He didn't like that, understandably.

:19:28. > :19:33.Kingussie breaking through, but a trip. Gibson from midfield. This is

:19:34. > :19:41.key to the game, clearing your halfback defensive line. Glen

:19:42. > :19:47.Urquhart. Looking pacey and looking interested. Huge support for Glen

:19:48. > :19:52.Urquhart today, as I said just 14 miles away. Lee Bain is an

:19:53. > :19:56.interesting character playing in the heart of the Kingussie defence. He

:19:57. > :20:01.went to school in Glen Urquhart, would you believe, and has now

:20:02. > :20:07.turned out for Kingussie. His loyalties must lie with Kingussie.

:20:08. > :20:12.The loyalties lie here, absolutely. Lee Bain has been upfront for

:20:13. > :20:16.Kingussie most of the season. What a ball that is into the heart of the

:20:17. > :20:23.Kingussie defence. Glen Urquhart trying to clear it, danger, but the

:20:24. > :20:26.extra man in defence counting. At the moment Glen Urquhart running the

:20:27. > :20:30.midfield, there is a chance here for the Glen! He could have done better

:20:31. > :20:36.and should have done better with that because it broke eventually to

:20:37. > :20:43.Craig Dawson. That is a key moment early in the game. You would have

:20:44. > :20:47.wanted to finish this. The ball comes in from Eddie Tembo, the

:20:48. > :20:51.captain and he took too big a swing, he just had to slip it past Dawson.

:20:52. > :20:54.He could have taken it down and taken one step. Here is Ronald Ross

:20:55. > :21:03.for the first time, pulled back by John Barr, good block. John Barr

:21:04. > :21:10.getting it away again. John Barr holding the jersey, is the call from

:21:11. > :21:15.the referee. These are tense moments at both ends. The first opportunity

:21:16. > :21:21.for Kingussie to threaten the Glen goal. Oh! Side netting. That was

:21:22. > :21:27.straight out of the training manual. Absolutely. Everyone's eyes were on

:21:28. > :21:30.the Ronald Ross and Genini ran to the front post, the young

:21:31. > :21:34.18-year-old, who has scored in each match they have played Thurau this

:21:35. > :21:39.competition, and he took his first shot of the afternoon just wide. I

:21:40. > :21:44.seem to recall you doing something very spectacular from a very similar

:21:45. > :21:52.spot many years ago back in the day. They will not be thinking about that

:21:53. > :21:55.just now. Here is Eddie Tembo. Interesting to see Eddie Tembo with

:21:56. > :22:01.a helmet on today, another player who switched to wearing a helmet and

:22:02. > :22:12.face guard after a recent injury. The full mohawk on display. In the

:22:13. > :22:17.MacTavish final which Glen Urquhart famously one I remember seeing him.

:22:18. > :22:20.Shoulder to shoulder is the rule, unless there is some sort of other

:22:21. > :22:27.intent established. What do you make of this? John Barr comes out. It

:22:28. > :22:31.looks pretty shoulder to shoulder. John is a big built man and used his

:22:32. > :22:37.weight to his advantage and has been penalised. I think it is the issue

:22:38. > :22:40.of not being within playing reach of the ball that really went for him

:22:41. > :22:47.there. That is a good ball across the face of the goal, at too much.

:22:48. > :22:52.There is a character we enjoyed a night out with last night, Stuart

:22:53. > :22:57.McIntosh. He appeared on stage with Gary and I at Eden Court in a

:22:58. > :23:03.special commemoration event as part of the festival. We will come back

:23:04. > :23:13.to Stuart McIntosh's playing ability shortly. Eddie Tembo has come back

:23:14. > :23:24.to help the defence. Good block by Gibson. And again, again. Now, there

:23:25. > :23:30.is an issue here for the Glen defenders. They are testing David

:23:31. > :23:35.Mitchell's patients in the first few minutes. If they start to pick up

:23:36. > :23:39.cards and give away fouls there is an inevitable conclusion. Very much

:23:40. > :23:43.show. Mitchell came in a bit heavy-handed on his back and gave

:23:44. > :23:47.away the foul. As the game progresses over the next few minutes

:23:48. > :23:53.we will see less and less of these fouls as Mitchell stamped his

:23:54. > :23:58.authority on this final. Andrew Corrigan of Glen Urquhart has gone

:23:59. > :24:07.down in midfield. He has taken a knock. I think that must be pretty

:24:08. > :24:11.difficult for us to see behind his back. But I think there is going to

:24:12. > :24:17.have to be an early substitution here eight minutes into the game.

:24:18. > :24:20.Thankfully with the new rules as well, with rolling substitutes, you

:24:21. > :24:27.can go off and get treatment and come back on at a later time if he

:24:28. > :24:33.feels he can. I would guess that might be the end of his day

:24:34. > :24:43.unfortunately. Here we have a very interesting swap here. It is Ali

:24:44. > :24:50.mac. He was ruled out earlier in the season and here he is coming on, Ali

:24:51. > :25:01.McIntosh. The historical interest in this is that Ali Tosh, father of the

:25:02. > :25:05.current Ali McIntosh, played in the 1988 final between these teams. I'm

:25:06. > :25:19.sure he is here somewhere but he will be here. Certainly watching his

:25:20. > :25:24.namesake Ali McIntosh. Just a disruption. Any change like that is

:25:25. > :25:27.a disruption. Ronald Ross sends it down the line to Fraser Munro who

:25:28. > :25:36.has been pushed forward by Kingussie. That is a good ball which

:25:37. > :25:42.had to be dealt with. Tembo. He turns and bang, all the way.

:25:43. > :25:50.Hutchinson is after it, just overheating. Well, he needs to keep

:25:51. > :25:58.that kind of supply going. That was a good ball by Eddie, just a little

:25:59. > :26:05.over exuberant but it was a good idea. He almost gave them their

:26:06. > :26:08.first goal recently. There was a strong breeze earlier but looking at

:26:09. > :26:13.the flag to my right it is pretty limp at the moment. I don't big it

:26:14. > :26:19.is to any side's advantage but we will see if it will work that way.

:26:20. > :26:27.Slightly ambitious from Thomas Borthwick. -- I don't think it is to

:26:28. > :26:40.any side's advantage. Aaron Donald with the hit him, he

:26:41. > :26:45.gets one chance at it, he can throw it up as often as he likes as long

:26:46. > :26:55.as he takes only one swing. Two Kingussie defenders. This is where

:26:56. > :27:01.pace takes over. Single-handed run by Fraser Munro, who is beginning to

:27:02. > :27:12.make his mark in the game, he turns inside but that is a good block. And

:27:13. > :27:20.fired back across. Strong tackle by Lewis McLennan, returned by Gibson.

:27:21. > :27:30.Looking for Munro but it is Michael Brady who is busy in that left-hand

:27:31. > :27:38.defensive corner for Glen Urquhart. He took two swipes. What we have

:27:39. > :27:47.seen is a lot of the balls from Glen Urquhart being pushed up the middle

:27:48. > :27:55.rather than wide. Ali Mac pushed it wide there. It is a bit frenetic. We

:27:56. > :28:07.need somebody to take the ball down and play at around, because this guy

:28:08. > :28:11.will. Ronald Ross against John Barr, twisting and turning. He turns away

:28:12. > :28:16.from the angle. Maybe that would have been better cut back across the

:28:17. > :28:19.goal, Gary, but just an inclination here that Ronald Ross is beginning

:28:20. > :28:24.to move around the territory. Yes he is. He has got the ball and was in

:28:25. > :28:27.the position and saw the goal with nobody in front of him and he took

:28:28. > :28:34.his opportunity. He could have pulled it back but in a Camanachd

:28:35. > :28:42.cup final when the ball lands in front of you you just want to hit

:28:43. > :28:46.the target. The goal isn't that big given the length of the field but

:28:47. > :28:50.either side would settle for 1-0, believe you me, at the end of this.

:28:51. > :29:02.I have a funny feeling it's not going to end that way. Barrie

:29:03. > :29:06.Dallas, one of the elder statesmen of the current Kingussie team, if

:29:07. > :29:09.you can call him that. That was confident play from the Glen

:29:10. > :29:23.player, he just played it perfectly. Davy Mitchell, the referee, getting

:29:24. > :29:32.a bit of a shouting match from the sidelines.

:29:33. > :29:41.It is interesting. I'm not sure about this wind, whether there is a

:29:42. > :29:46.bit down at pitch level a little bit more than we can feel. A couple of

:29:47. > :29:50.the throws have been difficult to control. I would say that is more

:29:51. > :29:55.down to the Sun than the wind at this point. There was no noticeable

:29:56. > :30:05.wind, or nothing that would affect the ball in the air having run

:30:06. > :30:11.across it. That is better. The second attempt. That is right on the

:30:12. > :30:20.goal if it is turned the right way, the Glen creative. Dallas gets it

:30:21. > :30:26.away. The heating is not the best at the minute. That is better. That is

:30:27. > :30:32.a great swing, bringing out the goalkeeper, forcing him to play.

:30:33. > :30:36.Stuart McIntosh has put the cap on, the sun is bothering him in the

:30:37. > :30:50.goal. This is a good run from Euan Lloyd in the middle of the Glen

:30:51. > :30:56.midfield. Tembo. And again Glen being patient, working the ball.

:30:57. > :31:04.That was good play, strong tackle from Lewis Monroe. You could see

:31:05. > :31:09.Fraser played for that -- Louis Munro. He got the foul and now there

:31:10. > :31:12.is an opportunity to attack. Good position and plenty of options. The

:31:13. > :31:17.one option he can be not use is to hit the ball into the goal because

:31:18. > :31:22.he cannot score directly from the free hit. Tembo again fires it in.

:31:23. > :31:24.That was a good height and Hutchison got it away. That's the sort of

:31:25. > :31:30.clearance you want your full-back to be making. Genini finding it a bit

:31:31. > :31:35.pacey and a bit of an occasion at the moment. That is an issue for a

:31:36. > :31:38.player as young as this. For all of his talents and everything else he

:31:39. > :31:43.is bound to feel the pace in the early stages of a game like this. We

:31:44. > :31:48.have to remember the young man is 17 or 18 years of age and in his first

:31:49. > :31:52.cup final it's a big occasion and probably a lot is expected of him

:31:53. > :31:57.having scored in each and every other round. As a young man you need

:31:58. > :32:00.to calm down a little bit and basically restart your game again as

:32:01. > :32:13.he has not had the best start so far. Tembo, digging in already. This

:32:14. > :32:18.ball up the middle, no use against Lee Bain. He will get that all day.

:32:19. > :32:28.Straight back up the other end. Just lacking a bit of discipline at the

:32:29. > :32:34.moment, committing little fouls. We have not had a save in the last 15

:32:35. > :32:40.minutes. Both teams are clearly quite nervous and the hitting is not

:32:41. > :32:43.great. As this game goes on hopefully both teams will settle

:32:44. > :33:04.down and play the ball a bit wider as well. A packed stand at the Bught

:33:05. > :33:07.Park. Here is the Glen again. Going towards goal. This time Barrie

:33:08. > :33:16.Dallas gets a second swing in. That is lovely play. By the Kingussie

:33:17. > :33:29.number six. Barry Munro. Just snatching at the ball. -- Garry

:33:30. > :33:33.Munro. That is a strength that the Kingussie bench will be having a

:33:34. > :33:43.word with the sage, Anderson, he will be having a quiet word. He was

:33:44. > :33:48.the only Glenurquhart player booked in the 1988 final. That is the

:33:49. > :33:52.trouble with the hit in, it is not working for either team. We are

:33:53. > :34:00.seeing this once again, there was no excuse on that occasion. It was

:34:01. > :34:06.possibly the sun but at this level it should not be happening. Now,

:34:07. > :34:20.this should go into the heart of the Glen defence. Thank you. Well

:34:21. > :34:25.delivered. John Barr. That was a good clearance, he gets the ball out

:34:26. > :34:30.of play and that gives us our first opportunity to join Jonathan at the

:34:31. > :34:37.touchline. Thanks very much, lots of hurly-burly so far. Fraser Inglis,

:34:38. > :34:44.who has had the best of it? They seem to be first to the ball when it

:34:45. > :34:48.goes loose. And when they get there there is no Glenurquhart player

:34:49. > :34:52.inside. Kingussie will be the happiest with the start. When you

:34:53. > :34:56.start to give that amount of uncontested ball, there is only a

:34:57. > :35:05.matter of time before they get an opportunity. Fraser is a dangerous

:35:06. > :35:09.player. David Smart has shown quite well, going past few defenders. When

:35:10. > :35:15.Glenurquhart get it into the third bail looking dangerous. The game is

:35:16. > :35:21.yet to take shape. -- they are looking. Just looking at the amount

:35:22. > :35:30.of possession that Glenurquhart have, that is giving them an edge in

:35:31. > :35:36.the game. No score after 90 minutes. Barely any effort on goal at all and

:35:37. > :35:41.that tells you it's own story. I get the feeling that the Glen getting

:35:42. > :35:46.more of the ball. They are, Eddie Tembo has been quite good

:35:47. > :35:50.distributing down the middle of the field, but he is not keeping it low

:35:51. > :35:54.which a lot of his forwards in joy receiving the ball that way, he is

:35:55. > :36:00.playing it higher and over the top of the defence. -- they enjoy that.

:36:01. > :36:08.I do not know if that is coming from the management or it is his own

:36:09. > :36:15.decision. Again, that is a long, good hit. WHISTLE

:36:16. > :36:24.Well, that was just a flick, a suggestion that Fraser Munro was

:36:25. > :36:29.caught with a hand. Here we go, he turns it beautifully, running

:36:30. > :36:35.through. All that has happened is that he tries lifting the stick,

:36:36. > :36:40.McDonald, and it has caught in the fingers of Fraser Munro. We will

:36:41. > :36:46.come back to that. That is a good move. I was going to say that sooner

:36:47. > :36:52.or later all of these fouls will have to make them pay, and Genini

:36:53. > :36:56.almost did it. That was straight off the training ground, as we were

:36:57. > :37:01.talking, they were caught short, Genini goes across the face of goal.

:37:02. > :37:07.He tries to slip it in the bottom corner and give Kingussie the lead.

:37:08. > :37:12.The first and best chance of the lead so far, Samuel Genini firing it

:37:13. > :37:21.past the right-hand post of Macintosh. The Glen defence gave it

:37:22. > :37:32.away and went to sleep, I have disabled -- I have the say.

:37:33. > :37:40.Borthwick. The skipper has started well, setting by example with

:37:41. > :37:47.another high ball in. Again, another loose ball. That was over

:37:48. > :38:07.exuberant. The adrenaline is still flowing even after 20 minutes. Now

:38:08. > :38:18.they get a welcome breather. He lines it up. This is a fabulous day

:38:19. > :38:26.for shinty. Barr alt, but he will not want to come out. Here is a

:38:27. > :38:31.chance. Samuel Genini! He has set the ball rolling for Kingussie. That

:38:32. > :38:35.is one way to set his confidence in a cup final, what a ball from that

:38:36. > :38:42.man. The weight on the ball was just perfect. John Barr pulls it to the

:38:43. > :38:46.left. Playing it straight through. And the young man slips it past

:38:47. > :38:52.Stuart McIntosh, not giving him any chance whatsoever. The first thing

:38:53. > :38:57.was the little switch from Ross taking it on to the other hand which

:38:58. > :38:59.completely out foxes the Glenurquhart defence and then the

:39:00. > :39:06.pass and the finish was absolutely sublime. The finish was beautiful,

:39:07. > :39:13.playing it past McIntosh and then slipping it into the back of the

:39:14. > :39:22.net. That was beautiful. Well, Samuel Genini started as a member of

:39:23. > :39:33.the Kingussie team in 1990, picking up the cup. He could virtually fit

:39:34. > :39:40.his son inside the cup, if I remember rightly. How time flies.

:39:41. > :39:49.McGregor with a better hit. Tembo is under it. The Glenurquhart midfield

:39:50. > :39:53.has to get up, especially now they are behind. This is what they have

:39:54. > :40:01.to be careful about as they get sucked into defending too often.

:40:02. > :40:10.John Barr gets it away. He has a chance to fire it onwards. Not

:40:11. > :40:16.taking any chances. Gibson fires it on. Here is Ross. Barr is all over

:40:17. > :40:23.him like a rash. Ross again, turning onto the other side. Showing great

:40:24. > :40:34.skill. Of course he is equally strong on both sides. Incredibly

:40:35. > :40:40.strong. Glenurquhart this time. He is harrying and chasing. The ball

:40:41. > :40:45.has gone over for a corner. It is important, Gary, that the Glen gets

:40:46. > :40:53.back into this. It is, they do not want to be behind for two long. --

:40:54. > :40:58.too long. This will give them an opportunity to get on the scoresheet

:40:59. > :41:02.and level the game. There will be a chance from this corner from the far

:41:03. > :41:12.side. McDonald plays it into the middle. That was far too high for

:41:13. > :41:14.his team-mate. Munro at the front post. They are playing the high ball

:41:15. > :41:21.more often upfront rather than the lowball. Certainly the ball is going

:41:22. > :41:29.to run, try to get it further forward because the Kingussie

:41:30. > :41:35.defence are dealing with everything. Absolutely, this is rule one shinty

:41:36. > :41:43.as a defender. That is wasted. Lots are shaking heads. In the

:41:44. > :41:47.Glenurquhart area. Chance wasted. They really will not get that many

:41:48. > :41:54.chances. When they come, you have to make the most of them. Craig Dawson

:41:55. > :42:15.is taking his time. That was a beautiful strike. Up to

:42:16. > :42:21.halfway. That was a good challenge. It is beginning to get tough out

:42:22. > :42:30.there. Barrie Dallas just gets his head out of the way of that one.

:42:31. > :42:35.Dawson Shepherd is it behind. Dawson is trying to reorganise the

:42:36. > :42:40.midfield. He is feeling as though he has more work to do than he should

:42:41. > :42:46.have. That was a good ball. There was just nobody there. They came out

:42:47. > :42:59.wide, expecting it down the wing but it came inside. Unfortunately there

:43:00. > :43:07.has been nobody there to collect it. 26 minutes gone in this pulsate in

:43:08. > :43:15.Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup vinyl. Both teams are trying to create

:43:16. > :43:24.their own bit of history. -- cup final. Collecting it from David

:43:25. > :43:37.Smart's initial chip. Lloyd is going to take this one for Glen. Dawson is

:43:38. > :43:42.doing his own bit of organisation. The Glenurquhart players cannot go

:43:43. > :43:50.into the circle around the goal before the ball. Otherwise they will

:43:51. > :43:55.be offside. They get it away. There is a spare man for Glenurquhart.

:43:56. > :44:00.That was well saved by Dawson, I think he gets his stick on it. I

:44:01. > :44:05.think that sound was the stick against the post but we will go back

:44:06. > :44:16.to that. The best effort from Glenurquhart so far. Kingussie now

:44:17. > :44:29.are under some pressure. The defender gets it away, goodness me,

:44:30. > :44:35.he runs like his father, same style. He has made his mark in the midfield

:44:36. > :44:42.since coming on. Well, that is just a bit of panic. This man kept

:44:43. > :44:47.Kingussie in it. Let's see if it was the crossbar or his stick. It was a

:44:48. > :44:54.great ball in. I think that is the crossbar. It is the bar. It has

:44:55. > :45:02.beaten Dawson. It was lucky it did not going off his stick. Well, he

:45:03. > :45:09.had the line. Give him his due. That is off the bar, we reckon. That is

:45:10. > :45:16.the closest chance yet. Modern technology proving our point. Wow.

:45:17. > :45:20.CHUCKLES That might be worth a lot if we

:45:21. > :45:26.could have a look at that one again. Again, making his mark. The ball

:45:27. > :45:35.landed and he realised it was in his way. Well, it is hot and hard and

:45:36. > :45:40.very tough out there. That will be an issue for the players as they go

:45:41. > :45:47.along. As we come into the 30th minute. That is a monstrous hit. It

:45:48. > :45:56.works kindly for the Glen but again it is going high. Let's go back down

:45:57. > :46:06.to the touchline where Jonathan is with the Kingussie Benj. -- Benj.

:46:07. > :46:12.You must be pleased to be ahead? We are playing quite nicely. And we got

:46:13. > :46:16.the goal. You have to expect that they will have dominant periods in

:46:17. > :46:22.the game. How important is the first goal? It is important, obviously,

:46:23. > :46:31.but there is still a long way to go. Thanks very much. Bain. This is a

:46:32. > :46:38.good ball into the area but it goes too far, too fast. That was a

:46:39. > :46:41.chance? I would not say that was too fast, he should not have let that

:46:42. > :46:46.get away from him, he was seeing his name in lights and it comes to value

:46:47. > :46:50.through and his first touch lets him down, on my Genini at the other end,

:46:51. > :46:56.and that has been the difference. -- unlike him. I am not so sure. I

:46:57. > :47:06.think the pace has just beat him. Well, I don't think so! Ross. He is

:47:07. > :47:10.on the move. Well, I think the flag is up and he was taken out, there

:47:11. > :47:18.was an attempt to take him out the first time and then the second time,

:47:19. > :47:29.the assistant referee is John Angus from Skye who is a referee himself.

:47:30. > :47:38.There is a final warning for Lewis MacLennan. Next time you're going to

:47:39. > :47:46.get booked, OK? That is quite clear. Next time and he will be booked.

:47:47. > :47:53.This is why, there. Yes. Oh, what a chance. I thought Ronald Ross would

:47:54. > :48:00.have taken that shot earlier, he went one step too much. The swing

:48:01. > :48:07.more than anything was the problem there. That is what happens when you

:48:08. > :48:13.are 39. The mind and the spirit may not be quite in sync. 23 years

:48:14. > :48:19.incredibly since Ronald Ross played in his first Camanachd Cup vinyl.

:48:20. > :48:27.This is his 16th appearance in the final having won 11 and lost four.

:48:28. > :48:31.Quite incredible. -- final. 17 years ago. He has won man of the match

:48:32. > :48:42.three times and very few people have done that. It is the record, three.

:48:43. > :48:47.Do you think McInnis might have it? We have had this discussion a number

:48:48. > :48:51.of times over Shandy! You had to get that in. That is a good ball, nice

:48:52. > :48:59.flick, but there was plenty of time for Dawson to take a look and he

:49:00. > :49:04.lets it run. That was always going to be an issue and we knew that in

:49:05. > :49:09.terms of the defence, the likes of John Barr and McLennan, they do not

:49:10. > :49:12.stand on ceremony but eventually the referee has to draw the line with

:49:13. > :49:17.persistent fouling. It is not about the seriousness but the position. It

:49:18. > :49:21.is the Camanachd Cup, they are trying to give everything. They will

:49:22. > :49:27.do everything to try to stop him scoring or anyone else in the

:49:28. > :49:35.forward line. He has now been picked up for persistent fouling, so they

:49:36. > :49:42.will now have to be careful. Tembo again. He makes it his business to

:49:43. > :49:54.get it but the referee, Mitchell, is on his case. Just taking a quick

:49:55. > :50:01.check on the Albert Smith Medals. He does not have three, only 2. Thank

:50:02. > :50:06.you! Gary is one up at the moment CHUCKLES

:50:07. > :50:11.Glenurquhart, then. Plenty of movement but too much movement. They

:50:12. > :50:20.have dealt with that and dispatched it to the other end. John Barr has

:50:21. > :50:25.to make this count. His defensive colleague gets it away. That is an

:50:26. > :50:34.asking one. He has caught that in the face. -- nasty. He takes the

:50:35. > :50:38.stick down on David Smart, it was completely accidental, you have to

:50:39. > :50:43.say that, his eyes are on the ball. That is a big swing. He gets his

:50:44. > :50:52.block in. Look where his eyes are at the time. All eyes are on the ball.

:50:53. > :50:57.He comes up and unfortunately catches Smart in the face. But he

:50:58. > :51:04.gets up and he is fine. Smart this time, it ricochets. He has had a

:51:05. > :51:11.really solid game for Kingussie. Down the middle. Read fully packed

:51:12. > :51:16.in there. Glenurquhart need to open up the game, I feel. Dawson makes a

:51:17. > :51:27.good save. That is a good save around his feet. Then it is a way.

:51:28. > :51:30.Playing it into Tembo. That is good play. Glenurquhart are beginning to

:51:31. > :51:37.string passes together. That is a silly foul. He plays for it again.

:51:38. > :51:45.It is clever play. He did. That is good linkup play by Glenurquhart. I

:51:46. > :51:53.am not so sure. He comes in, it is his first touch. He does not need to

:51:54. > :52:00.take anything else from that. Mitchell is having a word. Eddie

:52:01. > :52:03.Tembo, nipping the era of the referee. He is entitled to have a

:52:04. > :52:10.word because he is the captain after all. It can also be

:52:11. > :52:19.counter-productive, though. This is good, this is good. Again, that man,

:52:20. > :52:28.Lee Bain, picking up the loose ball. Here is Ross. Look at the weight on

:52:29. > :52:35.the ball. Playing it into Genini. That is twice. Genini gets it in and

:52:36. > :52:40.Stuart McIntosh has to get involved. That is a good clearance. Guess who

:52:41. > :52:46.it was? Ross. It is often forgotten that Ronald Ross is much more than a

:52:47. > :52:50.goal-scorer, the deft touches are unbelievable, when he picks out a

:52:51. > :52:58.pass like that, the vision and the touch are incredible. He is arguably

:52:59. > :53:03.shinty's greatest ever player. Look at the physique and the skill and

:53:04. > :53:06.everything that he has. Over 1000 goals, but he still delivers balls

:53:07. > :53:14.like that so it is not just about the scoring for him. Well, again,

:53:15. > :53:27.that was a wasted opportunity. The little bit of chat from Lewis

:53:28. > :53:32.Munro, and the supporters, there. Quite a lot of supporters down the

:53:33. > :53:39.back line as well. I think this is one of the biggest crowds I have

:53:40. > :53:44.ever seen at a Camanachd Cup final. And no wonder on a day like this.

:53:45. > :53:58.McIntosh is on the case. It goes too far. Genini. A little bit of a touch

:53:59. > :54:10.too much in front of his manager. This is the man who has been hitting

:54:11. > :54:21.the shies extremely well today. Beautiful rhythm to get his swing,

:54:22. > :54:28.bang on. This is good skill. It has made his team-mate run wide. With

:54:29. > :54:35.the yellow boots. WHISTLE Oh, that is a hefty challenge from

:54:36. > :54:43.Lee Bain. I have seen a lot more cynical, and now Glenurquhart at

:54:44. > :54:47.creating more chances now. -- they are. Not really, they have sold him

:54:48. > :54:55.a dummy and he comes out against the shoulder. Seven minutes of the first

:54:56. > :55:05.half remaining in this increasingly tench Camanachd Cup final. They have

:55:06. > :55:11.to be five metres away from him. Dawson saves it! Well, that is twice

:55:12. > :55:17.now that they have needed him to save, they have given themselves the

:55:18. > :55:23.chance to take the save away from him. That is great, solid

:55:24. > :55:30.goalkeeping once again. Good anticipation from Dawson. He is

:55:31. > :55:39.merely a way, Genini. Getting it away. -- nearly await. Look at the

:55:40. > :55:49.way he takes it down. He gets away this time. And he has completed it!

:55:50. > :55:59.He has gone the whole way. Well, was there any doubt? One on one. Ronald

:56:00. > :56:04.Ross. 20 plus years. And he has done it again. This is beautiful. One,

:56:05. > :56:11.two touches. And it is one-on-one, him and John Barr. Well, if you go

:56:12. > :56:19.back to the very start of the move, he adjusts his stick in both hands.

:56:20. > :56:28.Unbelievable. Absolutely fantastic. It is 2-0 Kingussie. All of a

:56:29. > :56:34.sudden, this has become a massive mountain to climb for Glenurquhart.

:56:35. > :56:47.Five minutes left in this first half. Where does this leave

:56:48. > :56:51.Glenurquhart? I think the difference also is that we have 2 goals from

:56:52. > :56:56.Kingussie, and I do not think we have had a save, he has only maybe

:56:57. > :56:59.had to make one save and yet at the other end they have had a couple of

:57:00. > :57:04.saves so far and good chances for Glenurquhart. We always knew that

:57:05. > :57:12.the Goalkeepers would be key in the match. They often are in Camanachd

:57:13. > :57:23.Cup finals. This time Dawson has secured Kingussie's position in this

:57:24. > :57:28.magnificent match. Stuart McIntosh has got the best out of Ross and

:57:29. > :57:36.Genini early on. 17 minutes between the goals. An awful lot of

:57:37. > :57:41.possession. This will annoy them. They will have to try to sort this

:57:42. > :57:46.out at half-time. Here is Ross again. Twisting and turning. Then he

:57:47. > :57:52.turns completely the other way. He sets Genini are off down the left

:57:53. > :58:04.judge line. He is way over on the far side. We have our backs to the

:58:05. > :58:14.river. We are bathed in glorious sunshine.

:58:15. > :58:22.Well, he does not lose any of his appetite for the game! He certainly

:58:23. > :58:30.doesn't. And he was absolutely right. David Mitchell I think was

:58:31. > :58:35.having a look to make sure that Davie Anderson was happy with where

:58:36. > :58:40.the ball was sitting! It was only about five yards but he was making

:58:41. > :58:49.the point. He himself is a legend. The son of a legend. Here is another

:58:50. > :58:55.one. He is on his way. Thomas Borthwick. That is a great save!

:58:56. > :59:01.Great save. Here is Kingussie again, though. These are critical

:59:02. > :59:05.moments. Critical moments. WHISTLE Now, I think there could be trouble

:59:06. > :59:09.here for Lewis MacLennan. Lewis MacLennan is in trouble here and I

:59:10. > :59:15.think it will be no more than a yellow card, but the referee has had

:59:16. > :59:20.enough, Gary. Yes, going back to this earlier incident, Borthwick

:59:21. > :59:24.runs down, he knows where the goal is and he lets it go. What is saved

:59:25. > :59:28.by the goalkeeper. Look at that. Had that gunning it would have been very

:59:29. > :59:38.difficult for them to get their hands on the Camanachd Cup. Yes.

:59:39. > :59:46.Lewis MacLennan. Well, he has been warned a few times today. And again.

:59:47. > :59:51.Well, they have twice done that, they have a tendency to go to sleep

:59:52. > :59:55.at the free hit. We saw it before with the goal for Genini. That time

:59:56. > :00:00.they went wide and McIntosh got a chance to clear. They know they need

:00:01. > :00:02.to settle down and get on the scoresheet soon because there is

:00:03. > :00:09.definitely more goals in Kingussie this afternoon. Well, it has been

:00:10. > :00:14.breathless in its own way. It has not been a classic. It has had its

:00:15. > :00:19.moments and the wind has picked up all of a sudden. You can see it in

:00:20. > :00:27.the players shirts. Yes, certainly looking at the flag it is from right

:00:28. > :00:36.to left. That will favour Kingussie in the second half. It is said it is

:00:37. > :00:51.easier to play against the wind. That was a good ball towards Genini.

:00:52. > :00:56.He gets away. That is a clever nudge. The Glenurquhart defenders

:00:57. > :01:00.are furious that Genini was not pulled back for that clever little

:01:01. > :01:05.nudge. He is a clever man as well, Genini. He must have got into the

:01:06. > :01:12.right position, there or the referee has got it right on that one.

:01:13. > :01:20.Genini fires it across, a bit loose but still there for Kingussie. This

:01:21. > :01:23.is the final minute of the first half of regulation time. Though

:01:24. > :01:28.maybe some added time. Certainly Kingussie will be the happier,

:01:29. > :01:32.because it is 2-0. But they've converted their chances, the

:01:33. > :01:37.difference. They have and they have looked sharper, Glenurquhart have

:01:38. > :01:41.had their chances to be 2-2 or even leading the game but good defending

:01:42. > :01:45.and good goalkeeping has kept a clean sheet so far for Kingussie.

:01:46. > :01:56.There is going to be just this minute of the added time. Just the

:01:57. > :02:02.one minute. And then we will call it a day for ten minutes, or

:02:03. > :02:08.thereabouts, and see if the chocolate biscuits are any better

:02:09. > :02:16.than they were 45 minutes ago. Gibson has set one off again to

:02:17. > :02:21.Ross. Lovely touch. Good clearance by Euan Lloyd who has stuck at it.

:02:22. > :02:31.He's been by far the busier of the wingbacks. Extravagant touch from

:02:32. > :02:39.Munro. Gibson. Solid. Borthwick has taken one in the nose there. Thomas

:02:40. > :02:46.Borthwick going down. I think Ali Mac caught him in the face. They

:02:47. > :02:55.were both going for the same ball. Because it is a head knock the

:02:56. > :03:01.referee quite rightly just getting the Kingussie trainer to come on.

:03:02. > :03:08.But they have been told it is half-time virtually. Thomas

:03:09. > :03:13.Borthwick, the son of David Borthwick, more Camanachd Cup medals

:03:14. > :03:20.than you can shake a stick at, 14, even more than Ronald Ross, would

:03:21. > :03:27.you believe. Gibson, the last play perhaps. David Mitchell lets it go.

:03:28. > :03:29.I think Stuart MacKintosh will probably be allowed to get the ball

:03:30. > :03:44.back into play. Great save. That was the highlight

:03:45. > :03:50.of the game in defence of terms. David Mitchell has indeed called it

:03:51. > :03:59.a day for the first 45 minutes. Genini with the first goal on 22

:04:00. > :04:05.minutes has made his mark. Certainly with his elder statesman colleague

:04:06. > :04:11.Ronald Ross he will be happy with his performance. Dawson has had a

:04:12. > :04:15.good game in goal with Hutchison at the back. There is a lot to be done.

:04:16. > :04:21.There is a lot to be played for, because what we have had is two

:04:22. > :04:29.goals, both to Kaan Ayhan -- Kingussie. At half-time Kingussie

:04:30. > :04:37.2-0 Glenurquhart. It is starting to get a bit chilly at Bught Park. And

:04:38. > :04:45.it will be a bit chilly in the Glenurquhart changing room. I'm

:04:46. > :04:50.joined again by Fraser. They have played better shinty and outclassed

:04:51. > :04:53.Glenurquhart. Glenurquhart had to get their tactics right as we

:04:54. > :04:56.mentioned and unfortunately they haven't and they are getting

:04:57. > :05:00.overwhelmed slightly so they have to make some big changes in the second

:05:01. > :05:04.half to get back into this game. Early signs Kingussie might be the

:05:05. > :05:09.team on top, Savio Genini leading from the front and he went close

:05:10. > :05:13.early on. This demonstrates Savio Genini's movement. The free hit

:05:14. > :05:17.played in by Fraser Munro, Genini running across and he hit it well,

:05:18. > :05:22.running across the goal as you should, just past the post, that was

:05:23. > :05:26.a warning from Glenurquhart that he has good movement and he's quick and

:05:27. > :05:31.you have to keep an eye on it. Later on with the goal it was crucial with

:05:32. > :05:36.his movement and Ronald's pass. We talked about Ronald Ross before

:05:37. > :05:43.because we have two because he is critical. Ronald is class, no doubt

:05:44. > :05:47.about it. He came deep for the ball, here is Ronald with the ball, John

:05:48. > :05:53.Barr was a bit too far away from him and Ronald spotted the run by

:05:54. > :05:58.Genini. For a boy of that age it is tremendous composure. It was great

:05:59. > :06:03.skill the way he finishes it off Mac. He looked up and saw the pass

:06:04. > :06:06.and Genini with his first touch and then the second touch is a goal,

:06:07. > :06:11.that is class and not everyone can do that and for somebody of his age

:06:12. > :06:15.to do that in the final it says a lot about him. Savio Genini has

:06:16. > :06:19.scored in every single round of the Camanachd Cup this season so that is

:06:20. > :06:24.an achievement in itself. Kingussie on top at the moment. Glenurquhart

:06:25. > :06:29.having to react. They came as close as they have come in the first

:06:30. > :06:34.half. Aaron picked up the ball and he played in a lovely pass. Craig

:06:35. > :06:38.Dawson was worried at this point and it came back off the bar and

:06:39. > :06:43.Kingussie managed to get it clear. There is the ball dipping in,

:06:44. > :06:47.difficult for the goalkeeper to deal with, off the crossbar and luckily

:06:48. > :06:53.it didn't come back off his stick and go in. He started to back off

:06:54. > :06:56.onto the post and thought it could bounce back in. It would have been

:06:57. > :07:00.great if they could have got a goal because they would have got a

:07:01. > :07:03.foothold in the game. Glenurquhart's goals from the

:07:04. > :07:06.midfield have been poor, they are lumping the ball forward and I don't

:07:07. > :07:10.like their attitude, standing with their hands on their hips as if to

:07:11. > :07:16.say you have to give us better ball, this is the cup final, you have to

:07:17. > :07:21.make a bad ball into a good ball. That man once again, Ronald Ross,

:07:22. > :07:25.very much to the fore. This was a good move from Kingussie. The ball

:07:26. > :07:29.went wide, fed through and first touch out to Ronald and this a bit

:07:30. > :07:33.ISAs Ronald Ross's strength, power and determination, and when it comes

:07:34. > :07:39.to the finish, he finishes it. That goal is a tremendous finish. He

:07:40. > :07:43.brushes past John Barr and carries on running, this man is 39 and then

:07:44. > :07:47.he has the composure to find the finish. We were talking before the

:07:48. > :07:51.game whether Ronald would make the difference. So far he provided the

:07:52. > :07:55.crucial pass for Genini's goal and now he has the second goal. Plenty

:07:56. > :08:00.of life left in Ronald Ross. Thank you for joining us. A short time

:08:01. > :08:05.before the Camanachd Cup Finals took place this afternoon we went to see

:08:06. > :08:14.the McMaster 's cup final, the under 14 competition. This year it was

:08:15. > :08:21.between Skye and Oban. COMMENTATOR: It was a repeat of last year's under

:08:22. > :08:27.14 championship, a great privilege for them to play at Bught Park to

:08:28. > :08:36.play before the first match. It was important to get the first goal and

:08:37. > :08:40.that fell to Oban Camanachd's main striker due to some poor Skye

:08:41. > :08:48.defending. He was to be the main man for Oban as they went further ahead

:08:49. > :08:51.and took control of midfield and became the stronger and much more

:08:52. > :09:04.creative of the two teams. The second goal came very convincingly

:09:05. > :09:12.from the caman of the same player. They got back in it, Skye, and

:09:13. > :09:18.probably the best goal of the game, Rory McLeod flashed the ball home to

:09:19. > :09:22.give Skye some hope that 2-1. It wasn't enough, though, and Oban

:09:23. > :09:29.increasingly dominated midfield and again began to create the chances.

:09:30. > :09:35.The final word from pats Maclean who lashed a tremendous shot home. It

:09:36. > :09:38.made it 3-1 and gave Oban the championship again, and the captain

:09:39. > :09:47.Craig Kirkpatrick will take the trophy home. Congratulations to

:09:48. > :09:50.them. It's been a huge weekend of shinty in Inverness. A real

:09:51. > :09:55.celebration of the sport and last night was the big night out, part of

:09:56. > :09:59.the festival, and a celebration of Gaelic culture and its starred Hugh

:10:00. > :10:04.Dan MacLennan and Gary Ennis, and Stuart MacKintosh who is playing

:10:05. > :10:07.today for Glenurquhart. And some great music was on show. Let's

:10:08. > :10:40.listen to it. GAELIC MUSIC.

:10:41. > :10:46.How was the night, a few sore heads this morning? I've been better.

:10:47. > :10:50.Stuart MacKintosh was not drinking last night, he went straight home to

:10:51. > :10:55.his bed, as we saw from some of the cracking saves he made already

:10:56. > :11:00.today, thankfully for him. How would you assess the first half? Is there

:11:01. > :11:05.any way back for Glenurquhart in this match? Yes I do. At two - zero

:11:06. > :11:08.there is a chance for Glenurquhart and they have created some chances.

:11:09. > :11:13.Craig Dawson has made a couple of good saves, the crossbar came to his

:11:14. > :11:18.rescue as well. Glenurquhart are not out of this competition but if the

:11:19. > :11:22.ball continues to land at Genini and Ronald Ross and they put the ball on

:11:23. > :11:25.top of Macintosh in the goal as they have done they will struggle to get

:11:26. > :11:30.back into the game. A further goal from Kingussie will put their name

:11:31. > :11:33.on the trophy this year. Thank you for joining us. More from Gary in

:11:34. > :11:39.the second half and there is more shinty coming up on BBC Two shortly

:11:40. > :11:43.next month, October 18, the date to put in your diary for the next

:11:44. > :11:50.shinty action, the shinty hurling international between Scotland and

:11:51. > :11:54.Ireland on October 18, BBC Two Scotland, so do join us for that. It

:11:55. > :12:00.should be fantastic. But today is all about the Camanachd Cup Finals.

:12:01. > :12:04.Fraser, I mentioned to Gary that it is a long way back for Glenurquhart

:12:05. > :12:09.in this match. They play a different type of style of shinty. How would

:12:10. > :12:12.you describe it? It's a more physical and long hitting game but

:12:13. > :12:16.unfortunately today they have not played the ball well and not played

:12:17. > :12:20.it into the right areas and the forwards haven't made an impact so

:12:21. > :12:24.far but they have got positional changes and a couple of guys that

:12:25. > :12:27.are versatile. I would put Fraser Heath into the centre for his

:12:28. > :12:32.ability and movement and Lewis Maclennan at full-back and John Barr

:12:33. > :12:36.at halfback, I think that would work better. Obviously the management

:12:37. > :12:39.knows them better than I do but they have to do something to get a

:12:40. > :12:43.foothold in the game. It was a superb save at the end of the first

:12:44. > :12:47.half from Stuart MacKintosh. Let's have another look at it. It was one

:12:48. > :12:52.of those stunning moments where you have to admire the goalkeeper 's

:12:53. > :12:57.inner shinty for their skill. That was Borthwick pushing forward,

:12:58. > :12:59.Thomas was about to hit the ball and it was difficult for Stuart

:13:00. > :13:03.MacKintosh because it was across him, not just the angle to deal with

:13:04. > :13:07.but the pace of the ball and he picked it out with his stick and if

:13:08. > :13:11.that had gone in the game may have been over. It is not just their

:13:12. > :13:14.skill, it is their bravery. Most people watching think it must be the

:13:15. > :13:19.toughest job on the pitch because the ball is flying at you at such a

:13:20. > :13:23.rate of knots. It is the most thankless job because one mistake

:13:24. > :13:26.everybody blames you. Thomas hit that from quite a distance but

:13:27. > :13:30.people could hit these shots from inside the circle, five or six yards

:13:31. > :13:34.away, but it has been good so far and we have not had too many

:13:35. > :13:38.goalkeepers suffering injuries for the other reason, probably because

:13:39. > :13:42.they have these skills. They are brought up saving these shots and

:13:43. > :13:46.they use the stick and get their hands and eyes out of the way. Very

:13:47. > :13:51.briefly, Fraser, what's the prediction? They have one hand on it

:13:52. > :13:54.and whoever gets the next goal could be vital. If Glenurquhart get it

:13:55. > :14:00.they could get back into the game but if Kingussie get it it could be

:14:01. > :14:03.their cup. It will be an interesting second half. Let's go back to the

:14:04. > :14:09.commentary team of Gary Ennis and Hugh Dan MacLennan. COMMENTATOR:

:14:10. > :14:23.Thank you very much. Changed circumstances at Bught Park. Very

:14:24. > :14:31.spooky looking man on the other side and the sun is breaking across the

:14:32. > :14:37.park. There is the setting. That is quite spooky looking. Back to

:14:38. > :14:41.business, we have Glenurquhart and Kingussie who are comfortable at

:14:42. > :14:47.this stage two goals to the good. David Mitchell, the referee, his

:14:48. > :14:52.patience has been tested at various points and we have a crowd in good

:14:53. > :14:56.order who have enjoyed the house but our teeth in the last ten minutes.

:14:57. > :15:00.The captain, Eddie Tembo, no doubt will have had stern words in the

:15:01. > :15:09.Glenurquhart dressing room. Two are right we have the Kingussie

:15:10. > :15:11.defence and to the left the Glenurquhart defence will stop

:15:12. > :15:19.Glenurquhart hitting towards the town. David Mitchell gets the second

:15:20. > :15:31.half under way. If there is any way back for the blend I think they need

:15:32. > :15:40.to score next. John Barr. That is an easy ball for Kingussie to deal

:15:41. > :15:49.with. We have a substitution for when a cart. That is another foul --

:15:50. > :15:59.Glenurquhart. Deep in the heart of the defence. David Mitchell just

:16:00. > :16:11.checking to see Genini who has gone down, he has a knock on his leg, I

:16:12. > :16:19.think. Can you see a player down. He may need a bit of assistance this

:16:20. > :16:24.time. I think James MacPherson, sorry David MacLennan has come on

:16:25. > :16:34.for Glenurquhart at number eight. We will just confirmed the details of

:16:35. > :16:39.that. James MacPherson has been taken off. Does that surprise you?

:16:40. > :16:44.James MacPherson has not managed to get into the game. It passed him by

:16:45. > :16:53.unfortunately. He is a top goal-scorer. We may see them get

:16:54. > :16:56.back into the game. James had a couple of chances that he has not

:16:57. > :17:06.converted or done as well as he usually does. This is the first

:17:07. > :17:11.chance of the second half. Kingussie will have worked on this on the

:17:12. > :17:19.training ground no doubt. Lots of running, Ross, MacKintosh with a

:17:20. > :17:25.good save. That was off the boot because they all ran in the same

:17:26. > :17:29.direction and it came to Ross. Ross brings it down beautifully.

:17:30. > :17:36.Beautiful take. He is trying to open them up, turns him twice, Barr, and

:17:37. > :17:41.Barr cannot see where it has gone. That was a good effort as well.

:17:42. > :17:46.Fraser Munro this time on the backhand. Good save from MacKintosh.

:17:47. > :17:52.Very good, the ball came in low, he saw it late and kept it low and his

:17:53. > :18:00.defence did a good job to get it away. There is a clear chill in the

:18:01. > :18:10.air, let me tell you. Although it is a beautiful day. The climate has

:18:11. > :18:17.changed dramatically. Maybe to the relief of the players, I suspect.

:18:18. > :18:23.Ross in one-on-one combat with John Barr. He's not happy, looking for

:18:24. > :18:27.the protection of the referee, Ronald Ross, asking David Mitchell

:18:28. > :18:37.to take this further. He's having a word with John Barr. John is asking

:18:38. > :18:43.what the problem is. You can see he is hanging on to him as well. To be

:18:44. > :18:47.fair Ronald Ross cleverly... Good save! Another good save from Stuart

:18:48. > :18:54.MacKintosh, this time it was Borthwick. Clever play. I think it

:18:55. > :19:01.was possibly going wide but he had to look lively. He had to make sure

:19:02. > :19:13.he is earning his crust in the early part of the second period. That is

:19:14. > :19:18.rattled out again. The subs quite understandably, I would say, keeping

:19:19. > :19:26.themselves warm now that it is cooler. It a B doesn't look as bad

:19:27. > :19:30.as it actually is because of the camera work but we can feel it from

:19:31. > :19:38.the commentary position, I can tell you. -- it may be doesn't look as

:19:39. > :19:46.bad. Ross against Barr. Bar needs to be careful. They are threatening to

:19:47. > :19:51.cut loose. They certainly are and they have started stronger in the

:19:52. > :19:55.second half. Ronald Ross just holds it and he knows that Barr will come

:19:56. > :19:59.into the back of him and he just flicked it out, first time over the

:20:00. > :20:03.crossbar. John Barr needs to be careful but he has to do his job and

:20:04. > :20:10.Shepherd Ross and he cannot give him a sniff of a chance. He has a tricky

:20:11. > :20:16.position for himself. Gibson, exactly what you need in the middle

:20:17. > :20:30.of the field at the moment. He has lost his stick. The Kingussie

:20:31. > :20:42.attack, Genini away again. Like a bunch of these in one little

:20:43. > :20:44.package. -- Bees. Sweeping right-to-left now so that will

:20:45. > :20:52.favour Kingussie in terms of delivering the ball. It is almost

:20:53. > :20:59.like there is a fire but trust me it isn't. I would say that is a close

:21:00. > :21:04.call but Genini might have stepped inside the box and it might even

:21:05. > :21:09.have been Ronald Ross. They would claim their timing is impeccable.

:21:10. > :21:13.That is the difference we are seeing, Kingussie are keeping the

:21:14. > :21:18.ball low from the corners whereas Glenurquhart are trying to put the

:21:19. > :21:31.high ball in. That's the point you made in the first half.

:21:32. > :21:41.Lee Bain looking lively. He is beaten this time, he is beaten all

:21:42. > :21:46.ends up and Glenurquhart have a chance to take their time to take

:21:47. > :21:51.the short ball along the ground this time. They had to leave it. But it

:21:52. > :21:56.is blocked and there is a chance for the shot. It is on the goal and

:21:57. > :22:00.Dawson deals with it. Goodness me! How on earth did that stay out?

:22:01. > :22:05.Lewis Maclennan has been thrown into the forward line and that's the man

:22:06. > :22:10.it felt to. He did nothing wrong, the shot was on target and Dawson

:22:11. > :22:15.did as much as he could. It is coming in low, he goes to deal with

:22:16. > :22:21.it and he actually hit it off his foot. It should be a corner. I think

:22:22. > :22:30.it was saved by Dawson, or certainly at least deflection. They got away

:22:31. > :22:37.with that. Clever play by Eddie Tembo. Lets go down to the touchline

:22:38. > :22:41.where Jonathan is being joined by Glenurquhart comanager Billy

:22:42. > :22:46.MacLean. Glenurquhart with it all to do, what was your message to the

:22:47. > :22:49.players at half-time? We've created a lot of good chances we haven't

:22:50. > :22:54.created and on a normal day we would have taken those chances. I would

:22:55. > :22:58.have expected James to put them away having been our top scorer. I

:22:59. > :23:02.changed a couple of things at half-time and told them to keep

:23:03. > :23:07.doing what they are doing. Kingussie only had three or four chances that

:23:08. > :23:11.were clear-cut and scored two goals. We lost Andrew Corrigan from

:23:12. > :23:15.halfback which is a big loss. But our deputy in Ali MacKintosh is in

:23:16. > :23:20.there. Just keep it going, it is the Camanachd Cup, it is only half-time

:23:21. > :23:25.and we have 45 minutes to come back. There is a long way as Billy MacLean

:23:26. > :23:32.says but the longer it goes without Glenurquhart scoring the more

:23:33. > :23:40.difficult it becomes. Dawson fires it long, extremely long and wind

:23:41. > :23:50.assisted this time of course. He has made the most of it. 20, 30 yards

:23:51. > :23:58.past halfway. Good play. Kingussie swiftly upping the pace. It is

:23:59. > :24:10.Genini in the corner. Oh! Straight in and out, a 1-2, Genini. It is all

:24:11. > :24:18.in there somewhere. Genini played a 1-2 with himself. You always hope

:24:19. > :24:23.for a bit of luck in a Camanachd Cup Finals. I think the ball came off

:24:24. > :24:29.his face and landed perfectly at his feet. He was quite unlucky as well

:24:30. > :24:36.as he made his way towards the goal. There was a bit of a skirmish which

:24:37. > :24:44.David Mitchell is sorting out a bit of afters and the end result is a

:24:45. > :24:54.corner. The coolest man on the park, Mr MacKintosh. Genini with another

:24:55. > :25:02.chance. As time goes on Kingussie can take their time. There is not a

:25:03. > :25:14.lot the keeper can do about it. Magnificent setting the Bught Park

:25:15. > :25:20.is on a day like this. Let's see if this one goes in on the ground or

:25:21. > :25:24.upwards. In between. And a little bit of afters there. Barr went

:25:25. > :25:30.spinning after the tackle with Ronald Ross. Tembo just missed that

:25:31. > :25:42.one. Gibson thought about exchanging views. Tembo just mistimed it. The

:25:43. > :25:50.referee acknowledges that. Here we go. Ross again. Barr holding him

:25:51. > :25:57.with his stick. Ross needs to be careful. Just an element of

:25:58. > :26:05.frustration creeping into the game. He's not happy with the treatment he

:26:06. > :26:08.is getting. REFEREE: Next time you are in the book. He has asked

:26:09. > :26:13.Mitchell couple of times. John Barr, though, has to do his job and

:26:14. > :26:18.that's the only way to stifle him. It's just he seems to be holding

:26:19. > :26:22.him. I think Ronald was cleverly holding onto Barr's stick and it's a

:26:23. > :26:34.good point and a question of who does what first. Here we go again.

:26:35. > :26:38.They are zipping around. Oh! My goodness it is beginning to get a

:26:39. > :26:43.bit scary out there. There is a flag at the far end to our left. The

:26:44. > :26:47.referee has passed it up though. He doesn't have to go to it, he can

:26:48. > :26:53.choose to ignore it. That is what he has done because the Glen have set

:26:54. > :26:56.off to the top of the field. There is the suggestion that there was a

:26:57. > :27:05.little bit of afters creeping into some of the tackles. The referee

:27:06. > :27:09.David Mitchell coming under a bit of pressure here. It is a critical

:27:10. > :27:13.point in the game as we approach the one-hour mark. The refereeing is

:27:14. > :27:18.critical in terms of keeping balance in the game. He has to be careful

:27:19. > :27:23.not to let this boil over. He's trying to be as fair as possible but

:27:24. > :27:30.he must have to take a harder stance on some of these afters we are

:27:31. > :27:45.seeing off-camera. That has just gone out, I think. Kingussie players

:27:46. > :27:56.are taking water below us here. That is Michael Clarke dispensing.

:27:57. > :28:01.Standing over a heap of shinty sticks ready to replace any but I

:28:02. > :28:07.don't think we have ever seen any broken ones in the game proper. They

:28:08. > :28:13.will be knocking lumps out of each other for the rest of the afternoon,

:28:14. > :28:19.I think. Good ball at the minute -- up the middle and Lee Bain was on it

:28:20. > :28:21.but the defender was on it. That is a good defensive three with

:28:22. > :28:27.Hutchison in the middle, Barrie Dallas on the right and Lee Bain on

:28:28. > :28:30.the left, a very solid unit. Very solid and Glenurquhart are having to

:28:31. > :28:34.come deeper to fetch the ball and when they fetch it and put it up

:28:35. > :28:40.front there is nobody there to collect. The only way they will get

:28:41. > :28:47.the ball in is to get it over into the gap. Yes it is. And feed the

:28:48. > :28:50.bear style, let Lewis Maclennan have a one-on-one with Hutchison. Here he

:28:51. > :28:56.is, let's see if he makes anything of it but he doesn't as Hutchison

:28:57. > :29:01.hits it out. Hutchison will knock them away all day. He's only there

:29:02. > :29:09.to hit the ball-30 yards away from the goal and that will do him. More

:29:10. > :29:14.water being taken. -- to hit the ball 20-30 yards. There is that

:29:15. > :29:18.rhythm, it's obviously the system he has got which enables him to get

:29:19. > :29:25.that all that distance. This is a testing ball now. Barrie Dallas was

:29:26. > :29:32.the bravest. There are sticks and bodies flying everywhere now. Tembo

:29:33. > :29:37.gets it out into the space. Unfortunately for the Glen they are

:29:38. > :29:42.going to have to work harder to create the chances. Through to

:29:43. > :29:46.McLennan again. One handed a way but it's not far enough. That is through

:29:47. > :29:53.but Barrie Dallas covered Hutchison they're very cleverly. And again the

:29:54. > :30:00.Glen manoeuvring the ball away. Good play, though. They are giving their

:30:01. > :30:05.defence a bit of a break. But I don't think we have seen a shot on

:30:06. > :30:13.Craig Dawson in the second half. It was an interesting point that Fraser

:30:14. > :30:19.Inglis made. A lot of them are turning on the referee and you might

:30:20. > :30:24.think they would direct that into a bit more pace and directness at

:30:25. > :30:27.goal. I will correct myself and look at the previous click when Craig

:30:28. > :30:33.Dawson actually saved it with his foot from McLennan to get one back

:30:34. > :30:38.early on. Apart from that there has not been a lot to worry the

:30:39. > :30:47.Kingussie defence. Hutchison and Bain are lapping it up back there.

:30:48. > :30:52.Gibson with a wild slash. Well, not wild, it was fearless. I think he

:30:53. > :31:00.may have taken one on the chin there. The end of Hutchison's swing

:31:01. > :31:03.caught him. If that had been a ?300,000 per week footballer he

:31:04. > :31:08.would have been rolling around all over the place. Good ball again. It

:31:09. > :31:16.is in the danger area but again Kingussie step in, no messing.

:31:17. > :31:23.That is good play in midfield by Rory McGregor just there. He has not

:31:24. > :31:26.been the most noticeable of the Kingussie players but he did the

:31:27. > :31:33.right thing there, holding onto the ball. Using the traditional

:31:34. > :31:42.Kingussie socks, there, their special uniform to the day. Lovely

:31:43. > :31:48.touches at times. He knew what he was doing, it was trailing leg.

:31:49. > :31:52.Catching McGregor as he going down. It does not seem so clear-cut

:31:53. > :31:57.because he seems to have done something which requires attention.

:31:58. > :31:59.He is still limping a bit. We might see a substitute coming on in a

:32:00. > :32:18.moment or two. You are asleep after last night,

:32:19. > :32:24.aren't you? I am wondering which big substitutes they can bring on.

:32:25. > :32:31.Anderson or somebody. That's my point, they do not have a big

:32:32. > :32:36.substitute. Here are the changes. Coming forward is the Kingussie

:32:37. > :32:50.substitute now. They have sorted that. They might try to get McGregor

:32:51. > :33:04.back on. Infield again, Kingussie. That goes out to the substitute,

:33:05. > :33:11.James Falconer. And again, one of the very youngest Kingussie players

:33:12. > :33:16.here. It is a measure of how they have 2 regenerate their squad all

:33:17. > :33:25.the time. It is something that they are particularly good at, Kingussie.

:33:26. > :33:43.He is a famous name, Faulkner. In the history of the Kingussie club.

:33:44. > :33:47.Tembo. That is a good effort. Just a point on the substitution, there.

:33:48. > :33:54.This was possibly a good chance but it fell to the wrong man, and I mean

:33:55. > :33:57.that in the nicest possible way. John Gibson would not have thought

:33:58. > :34:05.he would be playing here in another cup final at the age of 39. Flying

:34:06. > :34:12.off in a helicopter after winning a Camanachd Cup final with Kingussie.

:34:13. > :34:15.I was not referring to his age but the fact he is a midfielder and he

:34:16. > :34:21.rarely gets close enough to the gold to shoot. It ricochets for a corner.

:34:22. > :34:26.Glenurquhart need something here, 65 minutes now into the game. Dawson

:34:27. > :34:36.really has not had much to deal with but this could have gone anywhere,

:34:37. > :34:43.really. MacLennan fires it across. The defender gets up to deal with

:34:44. > :34:51.it. Dawson had to make sure. Getting it away. In it comes again. This

:34:52. > :35:00.time Barrie Dallas with a veteran's merge, there. -- nudge. He knew what

:35:01. > :35:05.he was doing, heading for the corner flag. If I go out there, it will

:35:06. > :35:15.take me a while to get back. Alan Madonna has been playing for the

:35:16. > :35:20.last ten seconds or so. This is now a chance for Glenurquhart to create

:35:21. > :35:26.something across the goal. In it goes. Taken on the volley. That was

:35:27. > :35:32.an ambitious chance. You have do have a go now. It is at the point of

:35:33. > :35:36.no return, really. Very much so, they need to hit the target and get

:35:37. > :35:43.some goals. There was a good effort, it was a good height. Doing

:35:44. > :35:50.really well. Just not getting as much connection as they would have

:35:51. > :35:56.liked. Craig Dawson is like a green keeper, hacking bits out of the

:35:57. > :36:07.turf. That is what you get, you see, the ball falls off. That was a huge

:36:08. > :36:17.hit. He is technically superb with his hitting out. Genini just slips

:36:18. > :36:23.off the pace of the game again. Another chance to redeem himself. He

:36:24. > :36:30.played that a bit high. It is all part of the learning curve for

:36:31. > :36:36.Genini. If they get away with 2-0, he scored the first. Guiding him

:36:37. > :36:43.from the touchline, I just spotted that below us in the gantry. I

:36:44. > :36:54.guiding arm, I think. A word in the every so often. -- in the ear. He

:36:55. > :36:59.has made a real contribution since coming on so early in the game as

:37:00. > :37:05.well. It has got flat a bit. I thinking you see no day at -- know

:37:06. > :37:12.that they are on the verge of something. They do not know how to

:37:13. > :37:16.get out of this hole at the moment. Kingussie are lapping it up. Going

:37:17. > :37:27.across the elbows there, and here he is again. That is a very tough

:37:28. > :37:32.tackle from Alan Macdonald again. Yes, we need to have a look at this

:37:33. > :37:42.again, this is great running for Kingussie. He has actually kicked it

:37:43. > :37:50.on the way through. Well, this is a chance here for Genini. He has the

:37:51. > :38:03.ball in the corner. It goes high to Ross. Ross is in. Well, you just

:38:04. > :38:10.cannot turn your back on Ross. A chance again on the far side, James

:38:11. > :38:16.Falconer will take this. They are happy knocking it back and forth,

:38:17. > :38:24.back and forth. Running down the clock. That was a lovely touch.

:38:25. > :38:31.James Faulkner! What a save. It is off the stanchion, it is a goal! It

:38:32. > :38:42.is in! It is Genini. He has done it again. Samuel Genini. What a burst.

:38:43. > :38:48.What a burst of play. It was Faulkner first and Genini finished

:38:49. > :38:55.it. Look at the skill. He finishes it. Great reflex is. What a strike.

:38:56. > :39:03.Straight off the stanchion. That skill is unbelievable. He is such a

:39:04. > :39:11.young man. And from the second young man, putting it away like that, we

:39:12. > :39:14.were not even 100% sure that it went in until we saw them celebrating.

:39:15. > :39:24.This will be a real of hell battle now. Trying to get back in the

:39:25. > :39:40.match. -- uphill battle. Oh, he is down again. He is down again. Ronald

:39:41. > :39:48.Ross is growling. Davie Anderson is laughing. That is the only way,

:39:49. > :39:55.really. There is nobody in shinty that can stop him. John is obviously

:39:56. > :40:00.doing his best today to try to eliminate Kingussie's threat of

:40:01. > :40:12.Ronald Ross. Genini has 2 goals and they are forgetting about him.

:40:13. > :40:23.Another opportunity here. Goodness me. What a wonderful save. Thomas

:40:24. > :40:26.Borthwick on Macintosh. First time, straight off the training ground,

:40:27. > :40:31.that was going right into the top corner. Absolutely wonderful

:40:32. > :40:38.goalkeeping. Wonderful hitting too from Borthwick. As we touched on

:40:39. > :40:43.earlier, Stuart's father lifted the Albert Smith Medal and he will too

:40:44. > :40:50.if he carries on with this formance. It is like shooting herring in a

:40:51. > :40:55.barrel at the moment. You get the feeling in the last 20 minutes at

:40:56. > :40:59.the floodgates could open if Glenurquhart are not careful. That

:41:00. > :41:03.is a magnificent volley. That is what you dream of, catching a volley

:41:04. > :41:11.at the back post and putting it in the back of the net. It was not far

:41:12. > :41:20.away. Great camera work, the way they are capturing these incidents.

:41:21. > :41:29.They happen at such speed. A Glenurquhart substitution here. I

:41:30. > :41:36.think McPherson is coming back on. It is Tembo. Let's go down to Fraser

:41:37. > :41:44.and Jonathan as Eddie Tembo leaves the field. 3-0 now, it is fantastic.

:41:45. > :41:48.Is it game over? Not necessarily, with 20 minutes to go you can score

:41:49. > :41:53.three goals in 20 minutes but the way it is going at the moment,

:41:54. > :41:57.Glenurquhart are not creating any chances and they are being pinned

:41:58. > :42:02.back here. The problem we are seeing is two different styles, the

:42:03. > :42:08.cultured style of Kingussie, it is all about composter, and perhaps we

:42:09. > :42:13.are seeing why Glenurquhart have not won the Scottish Cup before because

:42:14. > :42:16.their style is not cultured enough, they have had great individual

:42:17. > :42:20.players over the years but as a team in the big games, they do not have

:42:21. > :42:27.the composure to make the difference. The Kingussie team is

:42:28. > :42:32.not necessarily as great as Kingussie teams in the past, but

:42:33. > :42:36.they have won at the moment in the Kingussie style, by playing better

:42:37. > :42:44.than the other team. It is an uphill battle. Here is Ronald again. He is

:42:45. > :42:52.39. I would sit back and enjoy the show. We will see him passing the

:42:53. > :42:57.mantle to the younger guys. Savio Genini, two wonderful strikes.

:42:58. > :43:06.Congratulations to Kingussie so far. It looks like for Glenurquhart Time

:43:07. > :43:14.is running out. Fantastic insight from Fraser Inglis. Ross was always

:43:15. > :43:19.going to unleash it. He was winding up for that. You could see it

:43:20. > :43:24.coming. Very much, the ball comes and he turns in. We have seen him

:43:25. > :43:31.stopping the ball and going one side or the other but that time he just

:43:32. > :43:34.turns and unleashes it. I am not convinced we are finished between

:43:35. > :43:40.Barr and Ross for the afternoon. It is still nip and tuck, every ball is

:43:41. > :43:45.being contested. You and I both know, Ronald Ross and John Barr,

:43:46. > :43:58.they will both won the final word. The final word rests with Kingussie

:43:59. > :44:01.at the moment. Genini, Ross, and then Genini again. Our thoughts are

:44:02. > :44:08.moving towards the man of the match. There is a committee looking

:44:09. > :44:15.at that. It will be interesting. Stuart McIntosh Forshaw has made

:44:16. > :44:21.some great saves. -- certainly has made. And you have the young Genini

:44:22. > :44:26.with two goals as well. There are a few candidates out there. We still

:44:27. > :44:32.have 15 minutes. I would say it is still all to play for, nobody is an

:44:33. > :44:37.outstanding candidate at this stage. WHISTLE

:44:38. > :44:40.LAUGHTER James Falconer should pick on

:44:41. > :44:46.someone his own size! Absolutely brilliant. Great talent from the

:44:47. > :44:52.16-year-old on the far right hand side. He is the last thing you would

:44:53. > :44:56.want coming up against you in a Camanachd Cup final, somebody who is

:44:57. > :45:03.16 and can run and run. Here in years again. He has the full bag of

:45:04. > :45:11.tricks, this valour. Lovely ball into the middle, well taken by

:45:12. > :45:14.Macintosh. This is what Fraser Inglis was talking about. It is

:45:15. > :45:21.panicky and loose, there is no structure to it. They are willing

:45:22. > :45:28.and eager enough, but at the end of the day, it looks to me as though

:45:29. > :45:32.they have just not enough class. They will be disappointed not to

:45:33. > :45:35.have taken some of their chances earlier today, which has

:45:36. > :45:43.subsequently left them 3-0 behind at this point. It is their first

:45:44. > :45:49.Camanachd Cup final. Ross. Genini. He thought about it. He scoops it.

:45:50. > :45:52.That is inventive from Genini. He plays it to Ross. This is a

:45:53. > :45:57.masterclass from the big fella. Look at the way he is taking John Barr

:45:58. > :46:04.for a walk. Brilliant from Kingussie. Macintosh. He gets on top

:46:05. > :46:10.of them. It is the full panoply of threats from Kingussie now. The

:46:11. > :46:19.shadows have gone. At the moment Kingussie have gone. Lee Bain. There

:46:20. > :46:30.are three Kingussie shirts. Here he comes again. A little pass. That was

:46:31. > :46:36.nonchalantly from Ross. John Barr has no option but to put it out.

:46:37. > :46:42.Well, this is classy stuff will stop very much so. -- classy stuff. They

:46:43. > :46:46.are starting to open up the defence. When it is getting to the forwards

:46:47. > :46:56.the defence are stifling them, feeding the forwards. Here is one of

:46:57. > :47:05.the older hands. The captain. James Maclean has come on. And Fraser

:47:06. > :47:18.Munro is headed off. Into the middle it goes. That is a good ball,

:47:19. > :47:23.though, that is a good ball. Dallas. That is well taken by Barrie Dallas.

:47:24. > :47:28.Hutchison. Then it comes in again. Dallas is underneath it but he

:47:29. > :47:33.misses it. That is a good save. Dawson has been taken down. Off the

:47:34. > :47:42.ball, there. Back it comes. It is wasted, there. Well, he is a big man

:47:43. > :47:45.to take down! If you look here, it comes through. And he catches him

:47:46. > :47:49.with the stick on the way through. He is trying to grab his own stick

:47:50. > :47:56.back and he pulls the feet out from underneath Dawson. Just an

:47:57. > :48:01.interesting point here, it is worth watching, when Dawson takes his hit,

:48:02. > :48:08.if we can just stay on Dawson and see what he does immediately at that

:48:09. > :48:18.he takes the hit... On the 18th hole again! He sold us a dummy. Look at

:48:19. > :48:23.what he does. He swaps his stick. I wonder if he has a pound of lead

:48:24. > :48:31.shot in the first one. I will let you ask him. He is just explaining

:48:32. > :48:39.to the goal judge why he changes the stick. Usually you have more loft on

:48:40. > :48:46.the stick underneath the ball, and possibly a flat ahead. To stop the

:48:47. > :48:51.ball after. Well, that shot sums it up. Some of the despondency really,

:48:52. > :49:00.that is all I can describe it as. Eddie Tembo. So much food for

:49:01. > :49:07.thought. It is written all over his face, really. He will be

:49:08. > :49:11.disappointed, his first ever and at cup final, possibly his last as the

:49:12. > :49:16.captain. He will be very disappointed with 11 minutes left.

:49:17. > :49:22.They have competed better than they did in the other final this year,

:49:23. > :49:28.when the opponents run away from them. They have not really allowed

:49:29. > :49:32.Kingussie to do that but they have been better than them. He has put

:49:33. > :49:41.himself about since coming on. He is like a

:49:42. > :49:51.-- whippet. They do not know how to control him. Absolutely fantastic

:49:52. > :50:00.approach to the game. All credit to Kingussie for throwing him in. If he

:50:01. > :50:07.is young enough, he is good enough. He is here because of his talent. To

:50:08. > :50:12.be 16 years old in a Camanachd Cup final, trying to lift your first

:50:13. > :50:21.ever Camanachd Cup final trophy, that is incredible. He tees up Ross.

:50:22. > :50:28.Would you believe it? The confidence is oozing out of Kingussie. It is

:50:29. > :50:32.very significant. There is a huge hole in midfield. There is just

:50:33. > :50:39.nobody there. They have conceded territory. Again, great running by

:50:40. > :50:45.Borthwick. He knew exactly what he was doing. He wants his name on the

:50:46. > :50:52.scoresheet now as well. Ten minutes and less to go, the Kingussie fans

:50:53. > :50:55.are massed to the left-hand side behind Macintosh's goal because they

:50:56. > :51:04.want to put him under pressure as well. I am sure that the banter is

:51:05. > :51:08.of the very best nature. They cannot quite get it away. This is a chance

:51:09. > :51:15.to relieve pressure. Look at the acres of space here. What happens

:51:16. > :51:19.is... That was a hefty challenge. The referee saw nothing wrong with

:51:20. > :51:25.that. Fired it up the other end. They are not going to hang about. He

:51:26. > :51:33.was lurking within tent. The referee has stopped the game. -- with

:51:34. > :51:38.intent. Over on the far side there was a bit of concern about the

:51:39. > :51:45.player, I think it is David Smart. He is down. That is who it. It is

:51:46. > :51:53.not quite clear but it looks like his arm, actually. What happens is

:51:54. > :52:01.that he goes down... Oh, he was trodden on, really. Yes, that will

:52:02. > :52:08.be a sore one. There is some concern for him. It is nice to see Lewis

:52:09. > :52:13.Munro as well, the Kingussie player, trying to help him back to his feet.

:52:14. > :52:22.There is a great atmosphere around the pitch, one of the best crowds,

:52:23. > :52:28.the best nature natured -- the best natured crowds I have seen. There

:52:29. > :52:35.are hundreds and hundreds of flags around the field as well, and there

:52:36. > :52:39.is great support for them as well, in their first ever Camanachd Cup

:52:40. > :52:42.final. They will be horribly disappointed not to be able to take

:52:43. > :52:49.the cup back because it is looking increasingly unlikely. We have lost

:52:50. > :52:55.David Smart. Really it would take a miracle now. But you never know. One

:52:56. > :53:00.goal would do it. It would like the touch paper. We have seen it happen

:53:01. > :53:09.so often before in other cup finals. Tembo has come on. He has gone down

:53:10. > :53:20.in midfield, James Maclean. Ronald Ross. Oh, and that was very very...

:53:21. > :53:30.He has got a file. If you lie had not got that... -- foul. He has gone

:53:31. > :53:34.down in the middle of the field in some distress, I think it is

:53:35. > :53:39.cramped. There must have been some issues with that man coming on. I

:53:40. > :53:43.think it is more than that, I struggled to believe that a player

:53:44. > :53:46.of his fitness is getting cramp after only ten minutes on the

:53:47. > :53:53.field! I think something else must have happened down there. Let's go

:53:54. > :53:59.down to Jonathan who is with Russell Jones, the Kingussie assistant

:54:00. > :54:03.coach. Is it game over? The game is never over until the final whistle.

:54:04. > :54:09.We are not taking anything for granted. But you must be delighted?

:54:10. > :54:18.We are delighted with the way we have played. It is Ronald Ross

:54:19. > :54:27.again! It is game over. Incredible scenes here. Look at the crowd,

:54:28. > :54:33.embracing their hero once again. That is bread-and-butter for him. It

:54:34. > :54:37.is almost casual, almost casual. Look at Stuart McIntosh, he knows

:54:38. > :54:46.that they were beaten all ends up because there is no way you can stop

:54:47. > :54:53.that, Gary. No, and he had so much time as well, one-on-one, he is

:54:54. > :54:56.lethal. Once more he has delivered, adding to his thousand plus goals

:54:57. > :55:01.that he has already scored. A very strong contender for man of the

:55:02. > :55:06.match as well. His play, his goals and his contribution. It has 2 B,

:55:07. > :55:12.with the way he has guided the forward line, that has been immense.

:55:13. > :55:17.At 39, he does not have the legs. Well, he has the same legs but not

:55:18. > :55:22.the same staying power, perhaps. A lot has been made of his age in the

:55:23. > :55:26.final, but to be honest he has absolutely delivered like he did ten

:55:27. > :55:31.years ago and ten years before that as well. I think he will be fairly

:55:32. > :55:33.happy with his contribution and very much the puppet Master today with

:55:34. > :55:40.the forwards, he has controlled them and use them. Garry Munro has left

:55:41. > :55:42.the field at the other end, and Dawson is happy to let that go for a

:55:43. > :55:59.corner. A goal for Glenurquhart would give

:56:00. > :56:05.them something to cheer, the supporters have come in their

:56:06. > :56:18.thousands, so it would be great to see the net bulging. Just wide.

:56:19. > :56:25.Well, it is all becoming clear. It is beginning to run the clock down,

:56:26. > :56:30.only four minutes left and we are expecting the man of the match

:56:31. > :56:37.announcement shortly before the end of the game. That is a good stop by

:56:38. > :56:46.Dawson. Tembo. And he gets it away. The Glen never say die. With July to

:56:47. > :56:53.guess at the man of the match award? -- would you? That is quite simple

:56:54. > :56:58.because I know who it is! LAUGHTER Because this is him, this is the

:56:59. > :57:02.man, the main man, Ronald Ross is the winner of the Albert Smith Medal

:57:03. > :57:11.Memorial medal as man of the match. And he adds to his record, now

:57:12. > :57:16.having it four times and it is well deserved. He has broken yet another

:57:17. > :57:22.record, as you say. Was there ever any doubt? Well, I am sure at one

:57:23. > :57:29.point Genini might have had aspirations. That is a good ball but

:57:30. > :57:34.again it is wasted. At this stage in the game he is trying to lob it in,

:57:35. > :57:41.make Craig Dawson work. The one time we saw that it hit the bar and it

:57:42. > :57:46.beat him almost. Only a couple of minutes left, why not have a go? It

:57:47. > :57:50.is only slightly wide. We are going to have a couple of minutes of extra

:57:51. > :57:57.time actually. Let's have a look if he goes with the change of stick

:57:58. > :58:02.again. Everyone a winner. It is hanging on the post! Good defending

:58:03. > :58:10.from the forward line in classic style. Bain. At the other end of the

:58:11. > :58:14.field, so they do not care now. Well, what is going through that

:58:15. > :58:21.young fella's head at the age of 16? He has just come on. He will have to

:58:22. > :58:25.ask his mum and dad if he can stay out and party with the boys tonight!

:58:26. > :58:32.At least they will know where he is. I would hope! If they are watching

:58:33. > :58:38.on telly. But they won't become they will be here. There will be an

:58:39. > :58:47.explosion of red. The red and black of Glenurquhart. Kingussie is going

:58:48. > :58:51.to go berserk in a few minutes when David Mitchell calls a halt to

:58:52. > :58:55.this. It was not a classic but it has had its moments, it has had some

:58:56. > :59:04.finesse and class. One or two good finishes. I think it has been, as

:59:05. > :59:09.you say, not a classic but Kingussie have been very classy in their play.

:59:10. > :59:16.Their approach. WHISTLE It is not finished. A bit of actors.

:59:17. > :59:19.Glenurquhart will think they could have done things differently. We

:59:20. > :59:30.have talked about a future answer is earlier. -- Afterburn. They are the

:59:31. > :59:38.Scottish champions for 2014. Dawson will want to keep a clean sheet. He

:59:39. > :59:43.is not going to concede anything. Because the Kingussie defenders are

:59:44. > :59:47.not giving an inch. He has been outstanding at the back. The hind

:59:48. > :59:51.Barrie Dallas. Barrie Dallas, who I think has strolled through this

:59:52. > :59:57.game, has never had an easier ride in his life. Getting towards the end

:59:58. > :00:02.of the game. He has mopped up everything, it has been very easy,

:00:03. > :00:07.quick, simple. You are right, key has strolled through the game. It is

:00:08. > :00:12.an interesting tactic. Kingussie look as though they are playing a

:00:13. > :00:17.back three which is unusual. It has never been breached, really. That is

:00:18. > :00:20.because Glenurquhart are happy to look for the ball more and more

:00:21. > :00:28.often and it has not worked for them today. Beyond the point of no

:00:29. > :00:33.return. The 90 minutes are up. Kingussie are heading for victory

:00:34. > :00:38.and Genini is heading for a party. He blasts it straight across the

:00:39. > :00:42.face of goal. I wonder if he has taken a bet with Ross about getting

:00:43. > :00:49.a hat-trick! He is certainly on par for it. He was told off by Ross for

:00:50. > :00:54.not passing the ball. Well, for a young man of 17 years old, scoring

:00:55. > :01:00.twice in the Camanachd Cup final, he has every right to tell him to shut

:01:01. > :01:12.up! The high ball, the dangerous ball, there. Gets underneath it.

:01:13. > :01:19.Well, it is going to rock the Bught Park when the final whistle goes.

:01:20. > :01:30.There is the weight of history on their shoulders. Today McLean has

:01:31. > :01:36.recovered from his cramp -- McLennan. He seems to have dropped

:01:37. > :01:45.deeper. He won't want to do too much. Interestingly he works for the

:01:46. > :01:52.match sponsors so they are going to be very happy, Scottish Hydro. He

:01:53. > :02:02.may have a week off after this, I might say. Glenurquhart, they know

:02:03. > :02:13.the clock has beaten them. But they are not going to concede much if

:02:14. > :02:18.they can. Barrie Dallas. Again, twice in recent minutes I have seen

:02:19. > :02:24.three Kingussie players against a Glenurquhart player. They are lining

:02:25. > :02:31.up to hit the ball. Here they come, Falconer. What a finish for this

:02:32. > :02:36.young man to get a goal for Kingussie. Has he got the legs to

:02:37. > :02:40.get a goal in his first cup final? He's got the legs, it's just whether

:02:41. > :02:44.it will land for him at this stage of the game. Now then, Genini and

:02:45. > :02:50.Ross will be looking for the ball first because they are on a

:02:51. > :02:57.hat-trick each. Oh! That was of the stanchion at the back. Still firing.

:02:58. > :03:02.They might be 4-0 up but it doesn't matter, they will take another pop

:03:03. > :03:08.any time they can get it. They want to finish the game in style. Unlucky

:03:09. > :03:12.not to get his name on the scoresheet today but he has been

:03:13. > :03:18.very close on a number of occasions. You can see over on the far side the

:03:19. > :03:22.Kingussie bench are massing for a pitch invasion. It's going to be a

:03:23. > :03:33.Usain Bolt type finish because Kingussie are the 2014 Scottish

:03:34. > :03:36.hydroelectric Camanachd Cup champions and they take with it the

:03:37. > :03:43.title of Scottish champions, largely due to the efforts of Ronald Ross

:03:44. > :03:50.and Genini. They shared the goal-scoring honours. But really it

:03:51. > :03:55.was a very complete and adequate performance from the new seaside who

:03:56. > :04:04.dominated the match in virtually every respect. They never put a foot

:04:05. > :04:10.wrong. And they delivered on the great moments that they were

:04:11. > :04:15.commemorating today. It has all been done. They have signed it off,

:04:16. > :04:21.because the final score at the Bught Park in Inverness is Kingussie 4-0

:04:22. > :04:27.Glenurquhart. Huge congratulations to Kingussie Camanachd the Camanachd

:04:28. > :04:33.Cup winners of 2014, superb performance today as they thrashed

:04:34. > :04:39.Glenurquhart 4-0, queueing a pitch invasion. Fantastic. Fraser Inglis,

:04:40. > :04:46.there is no doubt about it, Kingussie were the dominant side.

:04:47. > :04:52.They were and 4-0 didn't do it justice, they outclassed

:04:53. > :04:56.Glenurquhart. As we said in the analysis Kingussie's cultured style

:04:57. > :05:01.and movement and having the ability to take the chances, Glenurquhart

:05:02. > :05:04.could not cope with it. Ronald Ross and Savio Genini with the goals but

:05:05. > :05:08.it was more than that, it was more of a team performance overall.

:05:09. > :05:17.Kingussie were dominant in every department. They didn't really give

:05:18. > :05:21.Kingussie defence any problems and occasionally the midfield was

:05:22. > :05:27.dominant as well. We are picking out Savio and Ronald because their goals

:05:28. > :05:30.were fantastic, but Barrie Dallas, James McClean, these guys have been

:05:31. > :05:34.playing for years and will be delighted to get another Scottish

:05:35. > :05:38.Cup win. These are great scenes and it means so much to the Kingussie

:05:39. > :05:44.players and the fans and people like Ronald Ross, in his 12th Camanachd

:05:45. > :05:47.Cup Finals victory. Absolutely. Kingussie are world record winners

:05:48. > :05:52.as far as sport goes, they had all of these record wins. They have not

:05:53. > :05:57.won the Scottish for a long time so they were desperate to get back. In

:05:58. > :06:01.fairness to them they were probably surprised to get into the final but

:06:02. > :06:06.they made the most of it. We hope Ronald Ross will join us at some

:06:07. > :06:10.point. Let's look at his goals, two goals today, Fraser, and he so

:06:11. > :06:15.important. He had an assist as well that we will see. He's a

:06:16. > :06:18.goal-scoring machine. He is. He has the technical shinty skills and he

:06:19. > :06:22.is a fantastic athlete and he combines them for the first goal,

:06:23. > :06:28.power, strength, composure and the will to win, the determination to

:06:29. > :06:32.get there. He came through the tackle, through another tackle, even

:06:33. > :06:36.though this one came in and now he is in a race with John Barr, and

:06:37. > :06:41.Stuart MacKintosh does his best but cannot keep it out. That is the

:06:42. > :06:46.difference with Ronald compare to other shinty players. He's such an

:06:47. > :06:49.athlete. He is a consummate sportsman. He could have been a

:06:50. > :06:53.tennis player. It means so much to him. Absolutely because Ronald

:06:54. > :06:58.probably thought he would not see another Scottish final again. In

:06:59. > :07:02.these areas, you have to remember when Ronald goes in there there is a

:07:03. > :07:05.good chance he gets hit but he still goes in and has the peace of mind to

:07:06. > :07:10.pick the right decision at the right time and find the goals. At the

:07:11. > :07:14.other end of the age scale lots of young players in this Kingussie team

:07:15. > :07:20.and Savio Genini, 17 years of age, but what a role he played, not just

:07:21. > :07:25.today but in the whole Camanachd Cup journey for Kingussie. Nominee

:07:26. > :07:28.people have scored in every round of the Camanachd Cup and to score the

:07:29. > :07:36.goals and play the way he played, he is a great young player -- not many

:07:37. > :07:39.young people. Great ball from Ross and that gave Kingussie the full

:07:40. > :07:45.hold in the game. Fantastic composure for a boy of that age. --

:07:46. > :07:49.foothold. William goal and we will also see his second goal. Here he is

:07:50. > :07:56.with the second goal will stop it was a stunning strike. -- brilliant

:07:57. > :08:01.goal. The ball dropped and he took it with no hesitation, bang, no

:08:02. > :08:05.chance for Stuart MacKintosh. The only guy we see finish like that is

:08:06. > :08:09.Ronald so it's a coincidence they are in the same team, it came back

:08:10. > :08:13.off the stanchion before Stuart MacKintosh knew anything about it.

:08:14. > :08:18.We've been joined by the man of the moment, Ronald Ross. What does this

:08:19. > :08:23.mean to you? You're 12 Camanachd Cup Finals success? It is special, we've

:08:24. > :08:27.been trying for so long to get the 12th medal, we've come so

:08:28. > :08:33.agonisingly close and it was the crowning moment today. Delighted for

:08:34. > :08:37.the club. Our local rivals up the road have dominated the last while

:08:38. > :08:43.but delighted to win this year and get the monkey off our backs. Is

:08:44. > :08:47.this your swansong will you on? Probably is my swansong. I kept it

:08:48. > :08:55.secret, I might play for the second team next year, I've enjoyed it this

:08:56. > :09:01.year. No better way to go out. It's time for the trophy presentation,

:09:02. > :09:05.over to Hugh Dan MacLennan. I think we've just heard a moment of

:09:06. > :09:11.history, Ronald Ross's retirement, it seems to be. Meanwhile, the rest

:09:12. > :09:19.of the team get on with the business. Mr Dawson leads the

:09:20. > :09:23.charge, accepting the medals from sponsors, Scottish Hydro Electric,

:09:24. > :09:27.the sponsorship manager. Jock Turner, the chieftain Archie

:09:28. > :09:36.Roberts, the President I mentioned earlier, having made a good recovery

:09:37. > :09:39.from his recent operation. As we said earlier he has thrown away his

:09:40. > :09:46.crutches. Kingussie, not one failure in their ranks, as we said. There is

:09:47. > :09:50.Barrie Dallas. The same age as Ronald Ross. Young Borthwick, his

:09:51. > :09:58.famous father took 14 medals home. A bit Borthwick. There is Ronald Ross

:09:59. > :10:08.himself coming up, just taking that one medal at the moment. And we will

:10:09. > :10:13.see the precise order of events taking the winners first, to enable

:10:14. > :10:24.the presentation to be completed for us in time. The great setting and

:10:25. > :10:29.magnificent trophy. And here is the captain, the winning captain of

:10:30. > :10:38.Kingussie, who follows a great line of winning captains from this half

:10:39. > :10:43.of Badenoch. The winners of the Scottish championship and the

:10:44. > :10:44.Scottish Hydro elective Camanachd Cup -- Electric Camanachd Cup,

:10:45. > :11:00.Kingussie. These are great scenes.

:11:01. > :11:04.The glorious day of weather has given way to a grey day but it's

:11:05. > :11:09.been a great day for Kingussie as they once again lift the Camanachd

:11:10. > :11:13.Cup Trophy, absolutely superb for them. I'm joined once again by Gary

:11:14. > :11:17.in this, our co-commentator this afternoon. It was a dominant

:11:18. > :11:21.performance from Kingussie. Kingussie were outstanding from

:11:22. > :11:25.start to finish, from defence to the forward line and what a fitting

:11:26. > :11:28.end. Ronald Ross gave us an exclusive that this was his

:11:29. > :11:33.swansong, to pick up the Albert Smith and the 12th winning medal of

:11:34. > :11:37.a Camanachd Cup medal is incredible. Absolutely. Ronald Ross said this

:11:38. > :11:42.was his swansong. Do you believe him first of all? Ronald has said that

:11:43. > :11:46.before but today I think Ronald was near his best and Kingussie were

:11:47. > :11:50.fantastic and in the manner they won it would be a fitting way for Ronald

:11:51. > :11:54.to leave the stage. I know that Ronald enjoys playing and wants to

:11:55. > :11:59.play in the second team but I would say for the first team for Ronald it

:12:00. > :12:04.would be the right time. A quick word about Glenurquhart, how do you

:12:05. > :12:06.some up their day? A little bit disappointed. They will feel the

:12:07. > :12:11.opportunities they had at the start if they had taken them they would

:12:12. > :12:15.have been in a different position. Craig Dawson, their goalkeeper, made

:12:16. > :12:19.some good saves. They will be disappointed. Losing your first-ever

:12:20. > :12:24.Camanachd Cup final as well, they will struggle over the next couple

:12:25. > :12:27.of days but they have a great squad and there is no reason they should

:12:28. > :12:31.not be there next year and the year after. Thank you for joining us.

:12:32. > :12:38.They will be more shinty shortly on BBC Two Scotland. Next month it is

:12:39. > :12:43.the shinty -hurling international on Saturday 18th October, Scotland

:12:44. > :12:51.versus Ireland. Join us for that. It will be fantastic. And fantastic

:12:52. > :12:55.scenes here at Bught Park today. It's been a hugely memorable day for

:12:56. > :13:01.Kingussie. A resounding victory for them in the Camanachd Cup Finals and

:13:02. > :13:05.Ronald Ross, one of the great phenomenons of this sport, once

:13:06. > :13:10.again very much to the fore. And if this is to be his swansong for

:13:11. > :13:14.Kingussie he could not go out in much better way. Thanks to everybody

:13:15. > :13:18.in the team today. It's been a great day, a great day for Kingussie,

:13:19. > :13:20.commiserations to Glenurquhart. Until next time from all of us here

:13:21. > :13:24.at Bught Park, goodbye.
