:00:40. > :00:43.At just before 6pm last Saturday evening, it was briefly looking

:00:44. > :00:47.possible that Wales would be playing Italy today needing a win to seal

:00:48. > :00:51.a third Six Nations in Championship in five years.

:00:52. > :00:54.But alas for Warren Gatland's men, they fell just short against

:00:55. > :01:05.Today, after a testing week, the message is clear from the boss. Make

:01:06. > :01:05.up for the disappointment of last week.

:01:06. > :01:08.For Italy, they already know the ignominy of a sixth Wooden Spoon

:01:09. > :01:12.in the last nine seasons is theirs, but they'll be looking for a fitting

:01:13. > :01:14.leaving present for coach Jacques Brunel, in charge

:01:15. > :01:25.Cardiff is not used hosting a match with not much to play for but the

:01:26. > :01:29.roof is closed and the one we can guarantee is another red-hot

:01:30. > :01:33.atmosphere in the principality Stadium.

:01:34. > :01:35.Here is the RBS Six Nations table going into the final

:01:36. > :01:40.England are already the winners for the first time in five years.

:01:41. > :01:44.Tonight in Paris, they go for their first Grand Slam since 2003.

:01:45. > :01:46.And you can see if Eddie Jones can emulate that great

:01:47. > :01:48.Sir Clive Woodward team live here on BBC1.

:01:49. > :01:53.Before that, Scotland will travel to Dublin to take on a rejuvenated

:01:54. > :02:00.Ireland, and we lead things off here in Cardiff.

:02:01. > :02:06.We have a Welshman, and Italian written, and Irishman. We're not

:02:07. > :02:12.quite sure why Keith Wood Mike Rozier but we welcome him -- is here

:02:13. > :02:15.but we welcome him anyway. There's a joke in there, definitely!

:02:16. > :02:18.Let's start with a reminder of last weekend, when the Six Nations really

:02:19. > :02:31.It is drummed into everybody, the Six Nations does not do easy. It may

:02:32. > :02:39.look always brilliant and amazing but it does not do easy. This was

:02:40. > :02:47.brilliant. And this was going to be an amazing try. But it was all a

:02:48. > :02:56.little too easy. Italy just could not stop giving. And Ireland just

:02:57. > :03:05.could not stop taking. Gorging on tries, six of the Rory Best, seven,

:03:06. > :03:10.eight, nine, easy on the Irish eyes. Oh, Italy.

:03:11. > :03:21.What is it like to be new to the Six Nations? A first taste of an ancient

:03:22. > :03:26.rivalry. Easy. If ever a player made light of the strains of the

:03:27. > :03:30.showdown, it was Maro Itoje. England, racking up the points.

:03:31. > :03:43.Whoever would have said it could be this easy? This hard for Wales? But

:03:44. > :03:48.the Six Nations does not do easy. And even when England's numbers went

:03:49. > :03:57.up, they also went down to 14 and Wales came to life. Suddenly, it was

:03:58. > :04:02.anything but easy. And it was growing more difficult with each

:04:03. > :04:13.charge. With every passing minute. And who knows? Being a touch judges

:04:14. > :04:14.never easy. What is it like to be new to the Six Nations? That is

:04:15. > :04:29.easy. It is good. The hardest thing in the Six

:04:30. > :04:33.Nations? Working out France. With the single-handed grace, they can

:04:34. > :04:38.cut the best into tartan ribbons. But they remain a mystery to

:04:39. > :04:43.themselves. And Scotland were never going to make this easy for them.

:04:44. > :04:50.Scotland, bed up with not delivering, hardened themselves. No

:04:51. > :04:57.excuses, deliver. France, stay calm, relaxed, take it easy. Not that

:04:58. > :05:02.easy. Too easy for Duncan Taylor. It was not the end. Win here and France

:05:03. > :05:08.were still in the title chase. The skill of the day would hand the

:05:09. > :05:17.title to England. England, watching in their easy chairs.

:05:18. > :05:22.And the Welsh rugby fans still asked the question, what on earth happened

:05:23. > :05:26.in the opening ten or 15 minutes at Twickenham? It's been a really tough

:05:27. > :05:30.week for the Welsh Rugby union and Warren Gatland after Joe Marler,

:05:31. > :05:35.Samson Lee, what was said on the pitch. Does that have any bearing on

:05:36. > :05:38.what happens today? I don't think it has any bearing on today's match for

:05:39. > :05:42.the players. That's on the periphery and they've got a job to do and they

:05:43. > :05:45.want to put things right. After a poor performance at Twickenham, yes,

:05:46. > :05:49.they played well in the last 20 but generally it was a poor performance.

:05:50. > :05:57.I agree with you, it's not been a great week for the game. Warren

:05:58. > :06:00.Gatland will probably regret what he said in the middle of the week but

:06:01. > :06:02.hopefully we can draw a line under it and move on. He described the

:06:03. > :06:06.comments as, " banter", but the trouble is, the Welsh Rugby union

:06:07. > :06:09.and Warren Gatland found themselves the story. Nobly covered themselves

:06:10. > :06:12.in glory this week. Everyone seemed to get it wrong and the only person

:06:13. > :06:17.came out with any credit with Samson Lee. I think all the Welsh players

:06:18. > :06:21.will gather around him and make certain he has a good day today.

:06:22. > :06:25.Carlo, yet another trip to Cardiff for Italy where they don't have a

:06:26. > :06:31.happy hunting ground. It's been an awful tournament. On the back of

:06:32. > :06:34.what happened in London last week as well, they are under a massive

:06:35. > :06:38.amount of pressure to perform, get a bit of pride and take something with

:06:39. > :06:42.the tournament. -- what happened in Ireland. They do give Jacques Brunel

:06:43. > :06:46.good sendoff. The worry for Italy is they are facing a wounded Wales, the

:06:47. > :06:51.player still hurting after last week. It's going to be difficult,

:06:52. > :06:54.losing 17 players with injuries and a pumped up Welsh side who want to

:06:55. > :06:58.put things right and I think they will come out of the blocks firing.

:06:59. > :07:01.Very poor starts against Ireland and England but at home they want to

:07:02. > :07:04.finish with a bang. They did a similar thing to years ago to

:07:05. > :07:09.Scotland and put 50 points on them so it could be a long day for Italy.

:07:10. > :07:14.Keith Summey you are in Dublin, our bad were Italy? Dreadful, ten metres

:07:15. > :07:17.to go to their own line and they waved people through and Ireland

:07:18. > :07:21.scored with ease. The forwards stopped making those big, heavy

:07:22. > :07:24.tackles. Playing against Italy other forward is always horribly hard,

:07:25. > :07:30.very difficult but it was not for Ireland last week. Jacques Brunel's

:07:31. > :07:33.final Six Nations match in charge today. Conor O'Shea is likely to

:07:34. > :07:35.take charge. Whoever it is, it will be quite

:07:36. > :07:54.a task after a dispiriting month Try for the French winger. That is a

:07:55. > :07:57.monster kick. He has missed. An heroic performance by the whole

:07:58. > :08:06.Italian side but France have come through.

:08:07. > :08:12.It is a simple gift the Jonathan Joseph. Italy, simply giving England

:08:13. > :08:25.too much possession. This is more like it, England's cutting loose.

:08:26. > :08:32.And in goes Seymour, that should clinch it. Scotland storming away to

:08:33. > :08:36.victory in Rome. And for Italy, trips to Dublin and Cardiff make the

:08:37. > :08:39.Wooden Spoon a grave likelihood. You wonder what might have been for

:08:40. > :08:43.Italy if they'd won the opening match against France in Paris?

:08:44. > :08:49.Interception and they tried for Ireland! Italy just want to get

:08:50. > :08:54.home. Dreadful play from Italy. When you lose matches like that, you say

:08:55. > :08:57.you deserve it but when you see what we have done in the past, I think

:08:58. > :09:00.Italy have started to play in this tournament.

:09:01. > :09:03.Even if they win today, Italy cannot avoid the Wooden Spoon,

:09:04. > :09:05.and that means they've finished bottom of the table 11 times

:09:06. > :09:07.in the 17 years since they joined the competition.

:09:08. > :09:10.It can't have been an easy week in the Italian camp.

:09:11. > :09:12.Ross Harries has been speaking to their team manager Carlo

:09:13. > :09:22.Tomato Alan starting at ten today, your fourth fly half in the

:09:23. > :09:26.tournament so far. How difficult is it to get consistency when your

:09:27. > :09:30.playmaker and your general is different in virtually every game?

:09:31. > :09:34.Yes, it is difficult but it is like that. Tommaso Allan has been out

:09:35. > :09:36.with the previous injuries he had but then he recovered with his club

:09:37. > :09:40.and started to play and now he's here and has the chance and the

:09:41. > :09:46.quality. I hope that he will give his contribution to the team, to a

:09:47. > :09:49.great performance today. This is a dead rubber, Italy can't finish

:09:50. > :09:53.anything other than bottom of the pile which has reignited the debate

:09:54. > :09:56.about promotion and relegation from the Six Nations. Sergio Parisse made

:09:57. > :10:02.his views clear, he's dead against it. What are your thoughts? Why, I

:10:03. > :10:08.don't understand the reason why, every year, we get out at that point

:10:09. > :10:15.from 2011, to 2015, in 25 matches in the Six Nations, Italy won five out

:10:16. > :10:20.of 25 and Scotland won four. So why every year do you have to get out of

:10:21. > :10:24.this point? I think Italy is one of the six and definitely Italy

:10:25. > :10:31.deserves to be there. The most important thing is how we can work

:10:32. > :10:36.better to make a much more competitive side and the possibility

:10:37. > :10:38.we have our very big. I think the Pro12 is starting, with the new

:10:39. > :10:45.agreement that we achieved, it is starting to produce better results.

:10:46. > :10:50.The new coaching course that will start I think is more concentrated

:10:51. > :10:55.on that. I don't see any reason and I really would like not to hear that

:10:56. > :11:01.any more because there is no sense. Best of luck today. Thank you.

:11:02. > :11:06.Songs ringing around the stadium and do you think that under Jacques

:11:07. > :11:11.Brunel, Italian rugby has regressed? The amount of Plessey as I do select

:11:12. > :11:16.because of injury most of the time, is expanded the pool and the depth

:11:17. > :11:20.as well. -- amount of players he has had. Behind the scenes, he's got

:11:21. > :11:23.academies in place to choose players and he's gripped feeding that

:11:24. > :11:26.information and he can call on players that three or four years

:11:27. > :11:33.ago, he could not call upon because they were playing the majority of

:11:34. > :11:36.the time in amateur rugby. I remember being with you under the

:11:37. > :11:37.Nick Mallett regime in Ireland came close to losing and they were a

:11:38. > :11:40.match for everyone and they even close to losing and they were a

:11:41. > :11:44.beat France on a final Saturday. Do you think they've gone backwards? I

:11:45. > :11:48.think they really struggled this year, as I limited, with a bit of a

:11:49. > :11:52.World Cup hangover. It takes a huge amount out of the team. If you have

:11:53. > :11:58.injuries and you don't have strength in depth, you become incredibly

:11:59. > :12:01.exposed. But the last two or three Six Nations, as it has gone on,

:12:02. > :12:05.Italy have got worse towards the end. That is definitely to do with

:12:06. > :12:08.strength in depth. They need to build on it. They have put the

:12:09. > :12:12.structures in place but they need to start delivering the players into

:12:13. > :12:15.the first-team very quickly. There's a great debate raging right now,

:12:16. > :12:19.Sergio Parisse did not like it when it came up in a news conference

:12:20. > :12:23.yesterday about whether there should be relegation from the Six Nations,

:12:24. > :12:25.like Georgia, who play in Romania today, they are ranked higher than

:12:26. > :12:29.Italy and if today, they are ranked higher than

:12:30. > :12:33.team finishing bottom of the Six Nations taking on the team at the

:12:34. > :12:37.top of the European Nations cup for a place in the Six Nations in a

:12:38. > :12:40.play-off, that makes it a really exciting finale. It's a valid

:12:41. > :12:44.argument we're not talking about just Italy, if Wales finished

:12:45. > :12:47.bottom, they played off against Georgia, 55000 and we saw in the

:12:48. > :12:53.World Cup how dangerous they are and how much they are improving,

:12:54. > :12:55.Georgia. The only problem is there's another two Test matches and players

:12:56. > :12:59.I have already played too many games. It's something that could

:13:00. > :13:01.I have already played too many early. We should give Italy more

:13:02. > :13:05.Robert Giles because they've been hit with injuries but it's something

:13:06. > :13:10.to look at in the future. One bright light has been Palazzani. He has

:13:11. > :13:14.been, last week, there were not many things that went well

:13:15. > :13:17.been, last week, there were not many his work and his sheer commitment to

:13:18. > :13:18.everything he was doing on the field last weekend was something really

:13:19. > :13:28.positive to take away from it. Here, last weekend was something really

:13:29. > :13:31.absolutely blazing behind him and he runs the clear, blocking line, he's

:13:32. > :13:34.outpaced but he manages to stop a certain try. Here, he's looking for

:13:35. > :13:38.instinct and territory and certain try. Here, he's looking for

:13:39. > :13:42.keep the pack moving forward and then he had a little chip over the

:13:43. > :13:47.top of the ruck and find space into touch. They have gained a lot of

:13:48. > :13:51.territory. He is doing what every number nine should do. He's in the

:13:52. > :13:52.second line of defence, managing the boys upright and clearing those

:13:53. > :13:59.sweeping kicks, adding something. boys upright and clearing those

:14:00. > :14:02.Who is there to clear it up, but Palazzani? To some up his afternoon,

:14:03. > :14:08.this pass from the base of the ruck floating over the top of the Irish

:14:09. > :14:11.defence and it is the vision, getting your head stuck in the ruck,

:14:12. > :14:16.ball over the top, beautiful, floated pass. But the problem is,

:14:17. > :14:16.consistently when it comes to Italy, we're only singling out one or two

:14:17. > :14:23.players in the Test match. we're only singling out one or two

:14:24. > :14:24.the difficulty. Sergio Parisse is talked about in every game Andy

:14:25. > :14:31.Goode get their discipline as well, they give

:14:32. > :14:39.away so many silly penalties, it their discipline as well, they give

:14:40. > :14:39.puts them under pressure. I'm fascinated to see how they will come

:14:40. > :14:41.out and approach today, fascinated to see how they will come

:14:42. > :14:44.take it back to fascinated to see how they will come

:14:45. > :14:48.try to give it a go against fascinated to see how they will come

:14:49. > :14:50.team which could be difficult for them. It's been a testing week for

:14:51. > :14:52.the Welsh Rugby union and for Warren Gatland.

:14:53. > :14:59.For changes today, three of them injury enforced. Where you tempted

:15:00. > :15:02.to make more? -- four changes. We discussed it but we felt that the

:15:03. > :15:06.injuries were enough and there's an opportunity for the players that

:15:07. > :15:09.played last week and for whatever reason, we did not turn up for the

:15:10. > :15:14.first 16 minutes and then we were fantastic of the last 20. -- but the

:15:15. > :15:17.first 60 minutes. Sometimes there's a chance for players to go out there

:15:18. > :15:23.and redeem themselves, though. The one change is Webb in an scrum-half.

:15:24. > :15:27.What has he done in your rise to warrant regaining the shirt from

:15:28. > :15:31.Gareth Davies? Garris is pretty unlucky but Webb has not had a lot

:15:32. > :15:40.of rugby. He was potentially fit a couple of weeks ago. But getting

:15:41. > :15:43.back to play action between the Test matches and union, I thought he

:15:44. > :15:46.looked pretty sharp last week and that brings experience and be

:15:47. > :15:49.communication and torque is what sets them apart sometimes from the

:15:50. > :15:54.other scrum-half, he's very vocal. It's been a difficult week on and

:15:55. > :15:58.off the pitch. As it difficult to focus minds ahead of this week? Not

:15:59. > :16:02.really, we have put issues behind us, have not spoke about anything

:16:03. > :16:06.during the week. In fairness to the players, they were brilliant during

:16:07. > :16:09.the week. The coaches said to the players, what could we have done

:16:10. > :16:12.differently in terms of preparation in the way that we started the first

:16:13. > :16:18.half against England? They were pretty honest with themselves and

:16:19. > :16:21.made a pretty honest assessment and said it was not a good enough start

:16:22. > :16:26.to last week and we showed what we could do in the end, in the last 20

:16:27. > :16:29.minutes. We outscored England three tries to one but still lost the game

:16:30. > :16:33.which is Prydie disappointing. We need to start well. That has been

:16:34. > :16:37.the Hulk Hogan is in terms of preparing and starting well. -- the

:16:38. > :16:44.whole focus. The Welsh rugby fans are pretty well voice today but if

:16:45. > :16:49.they had their way, all of the starting 15 last week would not have

:16:50. > :16:52.played. We take it pretty seriously! That's a bit harsh but it was an

:16:53. > :16:55.incredibly poor start, everyone is scratching their heads, how did

:16:56. > :16:59.Wales start so poorly? It was something they don't do normally,

:17:00. > :17:02.missing tackles, a poor kick from Gareth Davies giving Mike Brown a

:17:03. > :17:06.chance to run back and Dan Lydiate misses the tackle and England on the

:17:07. > :17:10.front foot. Weak ball from Ben Youngs, who I thought was brilliant

:17:11. > :17:14.in the first 20-30 minutes. England were smart, went down the blindside

:17:15. > :17:18.and took the Welsh split defence out of play. Good yards by Robshaw, over

:17:19. > :17:21.the gain line and this is where they were really good, Dylan Hartley is

:17:22. > :17:25.carrying right into the strength of the Welsh defence. Look at the dam

:17:26. > :17:29.between Jonathan Davies and the others, so disorganised, if you get

:17:30. > :17:32.an off-load like Dylan Hartley does there, George Ford get him on the

:17:33. > :17:35.front foot and that is the first minute of the game but without the

:17:36. > :17:41.ball as well, they were so poor and disjointed. No one is taking

:17:42. > :17:44.control. Dan Biggar goes to nobody. Robert cleans up but they are on the

:17:45. > :17:48.back foot. They are all looking at each other, Gareth Davies is not

:17:49. > :17:52.sure what to do and in the end it's just desperation, five Welsh

:17:53. > :17:56.forwards who are used to going around the corner and carrying.

:17:57. > :17:59.Leaving it to Dan Biggar to put it up and Mike Brown, no challenge and

:18:00. > :18:03.he's on the front that again. That was the first few yards and again,

:18:04. > :18:06.Ben Youngs and George Ford, they should have finished this off and it

:18:07. > :18:11.could have been 30 points up, England in the first. And given your

:18:12. > :18:15.experience working under Warren Gatland, Rob Howley and Shaun

:18:16. > :18:20.Edwards, you know how Shaun Edwards prides himself on defence and

:18:21. > :18:25.missing tackles for Wales is under a Jurisic. It's not a mindset and you

:18:26. > :18:28.have to give England credit, their footwork of the back three and the

:18:29. > :18:30.centres and the back row carried really well. But I'm pretty sure

:18:31. > :18:35.that the first 20 minutes, you're not going to see many missed tackles

:18:36. > :18:39.from the Welsh. The defensive line was not as quick as normal for Wales

:18:40. > :18:44.and actually, the kick chase in the first 15 or 20 minutes was

:18:45. > :18:47.nonexistent from the forwards. You know you are going to get hard words

:18:48. > :18:53.from the changing room during the week. We are not used to that from

:18:54. > :18:57.Wales. We are used to huge energy and a huge amount of noise in their

:18:58. > :19:01.defensive line or their forwards delivering for the team. They seemed

:19:02. > :19:05.a bit flat. It is amazing, it was a big game for them, really big game

:19:06. > :19:08.and they did not quite get into the match. George North have had a

:19:09. > :19:11.couple of big bangs to the head and there have been concerned about his

:19:12. > :19:15.health and welfare but this Six Nations, he's been absolutely

:19:16. > :19:20.terrific. Yes and we forget that he is still only 23. Most players win

:19:21. > :19:24.their first cap at 23 and this is his 60th. He came on the scene with

:19:25. > :19:28.such a bang and he is such a prolific try scorer. In an open game

:19:29. > :19:31.like today, and full of confidence from he's going to be a very

:19:32. > :19:37.dangerous weapon for Wales. I think he's lost a bit of weight. He seems

:19:45. > :19:48.have shed a few pounds and he's back to being light on his feet again.

:19:49. > :19:54.He's such a dangerous weapon for Wales. It is one thing to see him,

:19:58. > :19:59.close to the breakdown, not just standing, waiting for the ball to be

:20:00. > :20:02.delivered but looking for work. As a tight forward, when you see this

:20:03. > :20:03.mutant of a man in front of you, it changes the way the defensive

:22:11. > :22:15.wonderful character to have around as God. -- a massive date for Dan

:22:16. > :22:20.Lydiate. A remarkable recovery for Webb, ended in September but back in

:22:21. > :22:23.a number nine jersey. He's hit the ground running after a dreadful

:22:24. > :22:27.injury the World Cup warm up game. It's a great position for Wales to

:22:39. > :22:44.because you have Rhys Webb coming out here and he said, when it. I

:22:45. > :22:48.think that is the right mindset for this game. We called it a dead

:22:49. > :22:51.rubber earlier but you are playing for your country and wearing your

:22:52. > :22:55.jersey and you want to deliver for it. There's a bit of the pressure

:22:56. > :22:59.off because Italy are struggling and Wales want to get their confidence

:23:20. > :23:23.stalwart for the last four or five years. A proud moment for him and

:23:24. > :23:27.his family but hopefully the Welsh team can score nine tries against

:23:28. > :23:31.Italy like Ireland did last week. I think that's exactly what is going

:23:32. > :23:37.to happen. It could be 60, 65, 70 points. It could be that hard for

:31:17. > :31:26.and the result is a Wales scrum at the end of that.

:31:27. > :31:39.Everyone has spoken about this call in today. I think the Italians just

:31:40. > :31:41.have to up their intensity. They've got to do the basics well but also I

:31:42. > :31:45.think they've got to keep the ball and go through the phases. When they

:31:46. > :31:51.have the ball, they are in control of the game. It is a big ask.

:31:52. > :31:57.They've got to start well and hang on in there. He has had a great

:31:58. > :32:01.championship. He is looking for a try today. That would be four games

:32:02. > :32:09.in a row. Only Shane Williams has done that for Wales in four straight

:32:10. > :32:13.Six Nations games. The coaches have spoken about him being involved in

:32:14. > :32:19.the attacking game. They still have to earn the right to go wide. They

:32:20. > :32:32.still have to go forward first. Let's see if they develop their

:32:33. > :32:35.attacking play. Looking forward to the battle up front. He is up

:32:36. > :32:38.against Martin Castrogiovanni. There is a massive right-hand side scrum.

:32:39. > :32:51.Italy really need to try and dominate this. They need to get

:32:52. > :33:00.results from this. Just bounced off his man. Wales pouring up to the 22.

:33:01. > :33:09.Scrum-half felt that. A little cross from Dan Biggar. He gets in their in

:33:10. > :33:15.front of his opposite number. They have gone to the offside. I think he

:33:16. > :33:25.overran it. No advantage here to Italy. Whiteman string -- it would

:33:26. > :33:32.be interesting to look at Guglielmo Palazzani. Here is the kick. How the

:33:33. > :33:36.assistant referee, look at this, how the assistant referee hasn't seen

:33:37. > :33:44.that. It should be a penalty for Italy. Instead, line to Wales. Rhys

:33:45. > :33:51.Webb. He scores. Wales have been tried. Italy, when you see the

:33:52. > :33:57.replay, have a sense of injustice. What a return for the scrum-half. A

:33:58. > :34:03.great finish once again for Rhys Webb. He adapted so well to

:34:04. > :34:09.international rugby. One opportunity. For the first four

:34:10. > :34:15.minutes, he was given, given. Just watch this. The ball just drops out.

:34:16. > :34:23.I think the referee a little bit is in the way. There is the conversion.

:34:24. > :34:28.Rhys Webb is so lethal round the pace at the right. If forwards don't

:34:29. > :34:33.give him enough attention and close in that space, he will explode all

:34:34. > :34:38.afternoon. Offside before that line-out. It should have been an

:34:39. > :34:43.Italian penalty. Once Wales got this, and that is what Gareth Davies

:34:44. > :34:47.has been doing in his time as a scrum-half, and Wales begin the

:34:48. > :35:04.scoring. Five minutes gone. Dan Biggar takes the restart. And

:35:05. > :35:11.Samsung Lee. Map sent it high. An enclosed arena today.

:35:12. > :35:19.Samsung Lee. Map sent it high. An was Evans. A bit of a fumble from

:35:20. > :35:23.Jonathan Davies. It went backwards, says the referee. A chance for

:35:24. > :35:29.Italy, but well watched by Williams. Great covering by the full-back.

:35:30. > :35:37.They are trying to play it. It's going to be loose. They are going to

:35:38. > :35:40.create chances. An expansive game plan. Wales are looking at moving

:35:41. > :35:48.the ball but it isn't under control. Somebody like that Italian, he's got

:35:49. > :35:55.the skills and he will exploit those advantages, Leonardo Sarto. Rhys

:35:56. > :36:01.Webb gives it to Dan Biggar. The ball has gone and Jonathan Davies

:36:02. > :36:09.has to move it up. -- he has to do it up. That was a risky play. They

:36:10. > :36:12.will be looking to exit from the pace of that trial. Everything has

:36:13. > :36:15.will be looking to exit from the to be spot on and clinical. It

:36:16. > :36:24.seemed a bit loose. Uncharacteristic of Wales. Italy, I think, a

:36:25. > :36:39.promising attacking position. Italy's line at this time,... The

:36:40. > :36:43.penalty to Italy. There was interference, Guglielmo Palazzani

:36:44. > :36:48.going up. The right call from the referee. He is impeded as he tries

:36:49. > :36:59.to get the ball out of the air. A clear penalty. Tommy Alan coax

:37:00. > :37:08.into the corner and Italy will have a seven metre

:37:09. > :37:20.Here come Italy. front. And the big beast, Martin

:37:21. > :37:22.Castrogiovanni, has it at the back. Just about lost it, Guglielmo

:37:23. > :37:35.Palazzani, but clings on. Just about lost it, Guglielmo

:37:36. > :37:44.Allan takes it in. A very busy blindside flanker. Francesco Minto.

:37:45. > :37:45.Martin Castrogiovanni alongside. Guglielmo

:37:46. > :37:52.Martin Castrogiovanni alongside. confident scrum-half.

:37:53. > :38:00.Martin Castrogiovanni alongside. Lovotti, the loosehead prop, takes

:38:01. > :38:02.it in. It just goes to show, once one of your playmakers and somebody

:38:03. > :38:06.has got their hands on the ball for one of your playmakers and somebody

:38:07. > :38:11.most of the game, if they take it out of play, Italy losing a bit of

:38:12. > :38:16.direction and cohesion. Before the scrum, let's move back to just

:38:17. > :38:24.before that Welsh try. The Italians are running on. Just watch. They are

:38:25. > :38:29.clearly offside. Lily, clearly. So, you know, that has to be an Italian

:38:30. > :38:35.penalty. I think the scrum-half makes the most of it, really. They

:38:36. > :38:42.are up against it anyway, so that is a poor refereeing decision by the

:38:43. > :38:48.assistant. Clearly offside. A Wales ball, and Wales have a free kick for

:38:49. > :38:53.an early engagement by Martin Castrogiovanni. He is the man

:38:54. > :39:00.singled out by the referee. A good kick. Don't see it often. Played 40

:39:01. > :39:06.minutes down the pitch. In seeding a penalty inside the opposition 22,

:39:07. > :39:10.normally you are going 20 metres to recover your line-up. -- conceding a

:39:11. > :39:29.penalty. An Italian ball. Commentator's occurs. We said he was

:39:30. > :39:39.having a good game and then he blows it.

:39:40. > :39:44.Guglielmo Palazzani has taken his chance well. You do feel for them.

:39:45. > :39:49.The amount of injuries they have had, very, very difficult. You need

:39:50. > :40:03.consistency. It is a very tough competition. Turnover of players.

:40:04. > :40:07.Connor O Shea is leading the contenders to take over the Italian

:40:08. > :40:18.job, but it isn't confirmed. From that little spill forward by

:40:19. > :40:38.Guglielmo Palazzani, a Welsh ball. The scrum so far a little bit messy.

:40:39. > :40:43.Samsung Lee on the right-hand side, he needs to try and get that

:40:44. > :40:50.pressure directed straight onto the Booker. If they can get the right

:40:51. > :40:59.shoulder, it is ideal -- straight onto the hooker. Taken straightaway

:41:00. > :41:06.by Rhys Webb. From that free kick, the tackle made shore. Jonathan

:41:07. > :41:15.Davies creating a bit of pace. He must have almost overrun Biggar in

:41:16. > :41:22.there to try and free it. It is lost. Italy, from their own 22.

:41:23. > :41:33.Straight down the middle. He had a chance there. So Biggar instead. Up

:41:34. > :41:41.on Guglielmo Palazzani. Dan Biggar again, wonderful in the air. And to

:41:42. > :41:51.chart it had to be made by Francesco Minto. And of his own man. To the

:41:52. > :41:57.edge of the 22, Baldwin playing scrum-half. George north still

:41:58. > :42:08.feeling that is Wales move it wide, and a chance for Jamie Robba 's to

:42:09. > :42:16.use his strength. -- Jamie Roberts. Better passage of play from both

:42:17. > :42:25.sides. North still struggling. Wales attack with 14 men. He is stripped

:42:26. > :42:32.of the ball. Away to Davide Giazzon. A bit uncertain of himself. Back it

:42:33. > :42:39.comes to Alan. And again, straight down the middle. And Amos.

:42:40. > :42:46.Trying to take the ball a bit closer to the defenders there. That is a

:42:47. > :42:54.bit too far. Allen able to take it reasonably easy. Italy salvaging the

:42:55. > :43:01.situation. The penalty goes to Wales. Now Lee Williams is down,

:43:02. > :43:08.looking a bit groggy. Some hard hitting going in early on. I'm not

:43:09. > :43:16.sure which one it was, was it Francesco Minto on George North? He

:43:17. > :43:21.is a great tackler. When you throw those long balls, you are inviting

:43:22. > :43:26.it to happen. On the blindside, a rib tickling. He gets the ball away

:43:27. > :43:35.but he has knocked the wind out of him. Francesco Minto has made a lots

:43:36. > :43:41.of tackles. He is quite a force. You can cover the back row as well. It

:43:42. > :43:45.is a decision to make, when you are outnumbered, to cut people off. If

:43:46. > :43:52.you get man and ball together, it cuts all the momentum from the

:43:53. > :43:56.attack. Wales had an early try at you really have to respect your

:43:57. > :44:04.opponents and build a lead first of all. 14 minutes gone, ten points

:44:05. > :44:10.clear. You've got to score twice. You have to build a score, keep this

:44:11. > :44:20.Paul Burke -- keep the scoreboard ticking over.

:44:21. > :44:32.A beautiful kick by Dan Biggar. And ten points for Wales now. The

:44:33. > :44:38.scoring is slowed down after that earlier Rhys Webb tried, a sensible

:44:39. > :44:47.thing to do, getting up into double figures.

:44:48. > :44:58.Tommaso Allan going for the restart. It is a good back row, the Italians

:44:59. > :45:04.have. Perhaps some frailties elsewhere in the side. Today he is

:45:05. > :45:11.on his own. I'm not sure what he was looking to do there. Back he comes

:45:12. > :45:19.to Davies. The full-back waiting, David Odiete. Plenty of space to run

:45:20. > :45:30.into. Eventually, he ran only in to Davies. Still there, just, for

:45:31. > :45:35.Wales. There is Leonardo Sarto. And Biggar has... I think the Italians

:45:36. > :45:40.have to keep the ball there. They are on the attack. After Leonardo

:45:41. > :45:44.Sarto get the ball, they have to come inside or try something on the

:45:45. > :45:47.float will just keep it and go through the phases. They have to

:45:48. > :46:11.start all over again now. I think somebody is seriously

:46:12. > :46:18.injured. As soon as the ball went away from the line-out, one of the

:46:19. > :46:27.Italian players I'm not sure which one, they just said, something is

:46:28. > :46:34.up. I think he fell awkwardly on the back of that line-out. Just watch

:46:35. > :46:40.him, goes for the steel. He comes down. He just falls awkwardly, just

:46:41. > :46:41.loses his... There we are. He gets tipped over and comes down on his

:46:42. > :47:03.shoulder. Valerio Bernabo was right there and

:47:04. > :47:10.said it didn't look too good. Sam Overton is here. He is somewhere out

:47:11. > :47:17.there watching. Concussion for war against England. -- concussion for

:47:18. > :47:22.Warburton against England. doesn't look good for Justin

:47:23. > :47:29.Tipuric, the understudy to Warburton. It is going to be a head

:47:30. > :47:35.injury assessment. Maximum of ten minutes to assess the injury to

:47:36. > :47:42.Justin Tipuric. He might come back on, but he has to go off now and

:47:43. > :47:48.have that assessed. I think he will be all right. Just needs to get it

:47:49. > :47:52.checked. Ross Murray coming off the bench. He is motivated, in form at

:47:53. > :47:57.the moment. The last outing against Italy, he performed really well.

:47:58. > :48:01.Some big line breaks and he was really involved in the game. There

:48:02. > :48:13.is Moriarty. He plays for Gloucester. Just to break, of. --

:48:14. > :48:20.Justin Tipuric is off. He is a different sort of player. Tipuric is

:48:21. > :48:21.a classic player, but Ross Moriarty is a hard working, non-nonsense

:48:22. > :48:29.player. is a hard working, non-nonsense

:48:30. > :48:38.On the back of a solid front five, he could carry the ball very well.

:48:39. > :48:47.The Wales scrum at he could carry the ball very well.

:48:48. > :48:52.crumbles. Dan Biggar sends it to be and the Italian player.

:48:53. > :49:06.Italy are in bother again. Wales have a five metre scrum. It is a

:49:07. > :49:13.very good kick. But David Odiete either has to let it go in touch or

:49:14. > :49:20.just roll it in. They are under huge pressure, the scrum is under

:49:21. > :49:26.pressure. It is. That last scrum on the right hand side of Samson Lee,

:49:27. > :49:32.it went straight in across temporary -- David Odiete. Five metres from

:49:33. > :49:39.their scrum, Welsh ball in. I think this ball isn't going to move past

:49:40. > :49:45.their feet. If Wales get the shaft on here and the scrum goes down, as

:49:46. > :49:56.the last one did, the referee will be more inclined to give the penalty

:49:57. > :50:03.to Wales. Down it goes on that side. The first penalty, taken quickly by

:50:04. > :50:10.Rhys Webb. Advantage to Wales. Your opinion on that scrum? And a huge

:50:11. > :50:16.amount of pressure. He can't long blind because it exposes his chest.

:50:17. > :50:33.Samson Lee is on the right. I think it is very difficult, when

:50:34. > :50:40.somebody runs into you. Rhys Webb is lethal on the quick tap. Go for that

:50:41. > :50:45.ball, go for that line. And then, for that early tackle on Rhys Webb,

:50:46. > :50:51.who was trying to make his way to the line, an Italian player is off.

:50:52. > :51:06.Italy down to 14 men without their scrum-half. They are a man short.

:51:07. > :51:12.Here is Rhys Webb, and Biggar. I think Allen has taken a bump. They

:51:13. > :51:22.are back on their feet. Wales have to come from a bit deeper now. Great

:51:23. > :51:26.line speed by Italy so far. A man down. A quick yellow card. Carried

:51:27. > :51:34.in by the forwards again. Played back by Moriarty. Let it goes,

:51:35. > :51:43.Williams is there. Great covering defence. But the advantage was being

:51:44. > :51:56.played back. Dan Biggar calling for the ball quickly. The try is on.

:51:57. > :52:00.Nobody is out wide. Leonardo Sarto is supremely committed on defence

:52:01. > :52:07.today. Villa it is a great defence. This has to be a scrum, doesn't it?

:52:08. > :52:13.It is a great defence. I can't believe they are going for three

:52:14. > :52:18.points. When they last... When they have a man advantage, their scrum is

:52:19. > :52:24.absolutely dominating, that is a bizarre decision. Speechless. I

:52:25. > :52:33.This could be interesting. Listen to would say, look, hang on a minute...

:52:34. > :52:46.This could be interesting. Listen to this.

:52:47. > :52:51.REFEREE: We work together to set a good game, right? Keep your role and

:52:52. > :52:56.let me do my role. That is enough. If I am fed up by the guys who are

:52:57. > :53:05.talking to me, I am the only one to say that, OK? OK? Thank you.

:53:06. > :53:14.He isn't happy with that. What was the point of that? Sergio is saying,

:53:15. > :53:27.what was the point of that now then? Just wasted a minute of my life. An

:53:28. > :53:34.extra man. The scrum-half is off. As a back, I would be saying, I want a

:53:35. > :53:38.scrum here. You are so vulnerable around the ruck, because you are one

:53:39. > :53:45.man short in the defensive line. If somebody is coming up, the second

:53:46. > :53:46.line is short as well. Italy will be delighted to have yielded only three

:53:47. > :54:06.points. Rhys Webb sends it high himself.

:54:07. > :54:14.George North takes it beautifully. Wales making good ground again.

:54:15. > :54:27.Straight through on the scrum-half. Bradley Davies and Baldwin.

:54:28. > :54:36.Davies had to get rid of it quickly. Into touch it goes, Hind Amos. Italy

:54:37. > :54:48.right up with this game, as far as the confrontation battle goes.

:54:49. > :54:56.Francesco Minto there. Straight, really hot at the base of the scrum.

:54:57. > :55:00.George North, supreme in the air. The aerial skills of the Welsh backs

:55:01. > :55:05.are to be admired. There is nothing which lands on the deck which isn't

:55:06. > :55:12.covered by them. A chance now for Wales to come again. Moriarty, on

:55:13. > :55:17.the field for Justin Tipuric. He is still being assessed but I am not

:55:18. > :55:23.sure he will come back on. North, a little clap of the hands in

:55:24. > :55:31.frustration. Good defence from Italy, using the touchline to

:55:32. > :55:35.shuffle them across. Liam Williams, outpaced, and David Odiete comes in

:55:36. > :55:41.and puts him to ground nicely. Look at this, this is the play. Look how

:55:42. > :55:47.deep they are. They are so deep, you've got to come and angle inside

:55:48. > :55:55.shoulder. It goes wrong for Italy at the line-out.

:55:56. > :56:01.We understand that Justin Tipuric isn't going to come back on after

:56:02. > :56:07.his injury assessment, so Moriarty is on permanently. An early,

:56:08. > :56:08.enforced replacement, with Ross Moriarty on for Justin Tipuric in

:56:09. > :56:31.the back row. There is the captain, Dan Lydiate.

:56:32. > :56:41.And on to Evans, who has been a good loosehead prop for Wales. Moriarty,

:56:42. > :56:49.Martin Castrogiovanni and Francesco Minto both took him. Wales

:56:50. > :56:57.off-loading nicely. A little forward pass. So back they come. Dan Biggar

:56:58. > :57:01.had to get rid of that hot potato because he was being lined up with

:57:02. > :57:07.his arms stretched high above his head.

:57:08. > :57:18.The past you don't want to receive. Italy, defensively, as soon as Dan

:57:19. > :57:21.Biggar stretched his arms up there... Wales looking to move that

:57:22. > :57:24.ball into space and looking for the off-load. It wasn't far, because

:57:25. > :57:29.they were coming from in front. off-load. It wasn't far, because

:57:30. > :57:37.pass wasn't forward, but what is fair is fair. They are down to three

:57:38. > :57:38.minutes 46 on the scene binning of Guglielmo Palazzani. Italy are doing

:57:39. > :58:00.OK in this stretch. So in Italy scrum. There is

:58:01. > :58:09.Guglielmo Palazzani. His top draped casually over his shoulders, the

:58:10. > :58:16.continental way. David Odiete feeling poorly at scrum time.

:58:17. > :58:27.Communication is critical. That one early try for Wales.

:58:28. > :58:33.Penalty to Italy. Decision from the scrum this time. The man penalised,

:58:34. > :58:48.Robert Evans. So, Italy chew a little more off the

:58:49. > :58:55.clock sin-binning. They will be quite happy. They are a man short.

:58:56. > :59:00.They have had most of the play in their own half. They scored an early

:59:01. > :59:05.try. 25 minutes gone, they've only conceded one try. Wales will be

:59:06. > :59:09.disappointed with their attacking because, you know, they are not

:59:10. > :59:15.engaging defenders again. They are running into shoulders. Three

:59:16. > :59:19.line-outs that Italy have gone wrong, though, and they can't afford

:59:20. > :59:28.that. And a penalty to Wales now, so the set piece is costing them. It is

:59:29. > :59:31.the one thing to stop momentum, secure your line-out ball. Three

:59:32. > :59:37.line-outs lost in situations where they

:59:38. > :59:42.line-outs lost in situations where if Italy are going to hang on in

:59:43. > :59:46.this game, they have to get the set piece right. They have to keep the

:59:47. > :59:50.ball when they have it, go through the phases. If they have to kick,

:59:51. > :59:56.turn Wales and put them back in V-22. So frustrating to be back on

:59:57. > :00:11.the edge of your own 22 again. Wales again try and build an attack,

:00:12. > :00:13.still with a man advantage. Straight through, unnoticed. You've got to go

:00:14. > :00:23.Rhys Webb has support command left.

:00:24. > :00:28.Rhys Webb has support command and now Charteris. Wales getting

:00:29. > :00:32.close to the second try. Moved left and Roberts crashes in, drags in the

:00:33. > :00:37.defenders. They are calling, crying for it out wide, left. And still

:00:38. > :00:43.they go right, Wales and Charteris is there and Italy defender.

:00:44. > :00:45.they go right, Wales and Charteris one out wide, left. And now

:00:46. > :00:46.they go right, Wales and Charteris left but the Italian defence is

:00:47. > :00:51.getting ever there. left but the Italian defence is

:00:52. > :00:59.that is a waste for Wales. That left but the Italian defence is

:01:00. > :01:01.a massive let off for Italy, completely outnumbered out wide. The

:01:02. > :01:06.Italian defence in ones and twos. completely outnumbered out wide. The

:01:07. > :01:09.controlling the back line, which way completely outnumbered out wide. The

:01:10. > :01:14.they are going to go. If they go left, the ball is too slow and they

:01:15. > :01:17.have overthrown it. They had two opportunities, there, where they had

:01:18. > :01:20.to go left and they went right, as if they are set in a pattern. Look

:01:21. > :01:26.up and look where there is no players and go outside, it is a

:01:27. > :01:28.simple thing to do. Tomato Alan clears for Italy and George North

:01:29. > :01:34.was right on his shoulder, just as the long past when out. Italy have

:01:35. > :01:38.managed the Welsh pressure well with Palazzani off. That is the clock

:01:39. > :01:46.counted down for him to come back on now. Italy back to 15. Bears the

:01:47. > :01:50.unnecessary chat when a Simbine player comes back on, perhaps a

:01:51. > :01:53.higher sin-bin. It was certainly a penalty but it came quite quickly.

:01:54. > :01:57.Italy have only conceded three points in that time. Wales are still

:01:58. > :02:01.with the attack. Through the middle and now want to Roberts, and Dan

:02:02. > :02:09.Biggar is in and Wales have their second try now! Dan Biggar, very,

:02:10. > :02:17.very simple, when it came. And the Italian defence was cut apart by two

:02:18. > :02:22.men, Roberts and Dan Biggar. Just watch, they go wide, Sergio Parisse

:02:23. > :02:29.has got to make the tackle on Dan Biggar. He does not get there. It is

:02:30. > :02:34.an easy give and take. Just watch. It is not Sergio, sorry, I think it

:02:35. > :02:39.is the hooker, Giazzon has got to make the tackle. I don't understand

:02:40. > :02:43.why he was defending, there is, well, the scrum-half is off, isn't

:02:44. > :02:46.he? He's got to go there and he does not get to him, the hooker is in the

:02:47. > :02:51.scrum-half position and he is too slow. Ideally, coming off the back

:02:52. > :02:54.of the line-out, they call it the vacuum, you need your fastest men

:02:55. > :02:58.camming off the tail of the line-out to make the tackle in the channel.

:02:59. > :03:07.-- coming off the tail. He's excited! Italy go back to 15 men and

:03:08. > :03:10.concede a try. Dan Biggar, who scored that charge down try against

:03:11. > :03:21.England, has won now against Italy and Wales are leading 20-0. -- has

:03:22. > :03:24.one now. Wales try to set up camp in the Italian half, Fala tower again,

:03:25. > :03:33.carbon copy of the last restart and it goes back to Dan Biggar and

:03:34. > :03:38.Odiete fields. Allan. Chasing it down himself, but Williams able to

:03:39. > :03:49.take it and then get involved in that tussle with tomato Alan. --

:03:50. > :03:56.Tomaso Alan. Evans. Loose to Sarto. The winger is heading to Glasgow in

:03:57. > :04:06.the summer. Carried in by Francesco Minto. Zanni. Nearing 100 caps, now,

:04:07. > :04:17.the flanker. Palazzani, giving it to Garcia. He just manages to keep it

:04:18. > :04:19.alive as he was heaved into touch, Castrogiovanni dips his shoulder and

:04:20. > :04:29.has a good challenge with Samson Lee. Geldenhuys.

:04:30. > :04:34.Italy going through a good few faces for the first time and then Garcia

:04:35. > :04:41.sent through the grubber kick and Williams. Taken down well by

:04:42. > :04:46.Bellini, who has not had too much to do in a match so far. Skipping

:04:47. > :04:55.nicely away from Williams but then into Samson Lee.

:04:56. > :05:11.Carried in by Bernabo. And Palazzani. Just a fraction too long

:05:12. > :05:14.and Amos... Scribed by Giazzon. -- scribing tackle. Now a chance for

:05:15. > :05:19.Wales as Jonathan Davies has Roberts outside of him, to George North now,

:05:20. > :05:23.tearing down the wing and inside it goes to Dan Biggar, to Jonathan

:05:24. > :05:29.Davies and he is free! Sergio Parisse trying to get to him but

:05:30. > :05:33.Jonathan Davies will score! Davies get the touchdown. So many pairs of

:05:34. > :05:36.hands, it went from one end of the field to the other and Wales with

:05:37. > :05:47.their third try and a glorious thing it was. And again, this comes from,

:05:48. > :05:50.you know, they lose possession and give it away, acceleration down the

:05:51. > :05:57.side, inside the port and it is just good give and take with good support

:05:58. > :06:01.play. -- inside support. Italy run out of defenders. Way too much width

:06:02. > :06:04.to handle. As soon as he got to the ball, there were still four or five

:06:05. > :06:09.Italian players in the Welsh half, excellent counterattack, working

:06:10. > :06:13.with width, precision and lots of inside run as an option is to score

:06:14. > :06:17.the try. Dan Biggar with another simple kick through the posts and

:06:18. > :06:24.Wales are 27-0 in front and suddenly they are racing away. 25 minutes

:06:25. > :06:25.gone, they were happy with one try conceded and now they have conceded

:06:26. > :06:36.another two. As we watch the replay, you can see

:06:37. > :06:43.on the far side, the winger, Bellini is going off for Italy as well. I

:06:44. > :06:49.would imagine Luke McLean will be coming on. Yes, there he is on the

:06:50. > :06:54.far side. There is Bellini, being carted off and Luke McLean will come

:06:55. > :06:58.on for his 79th cap. He has become a bit of a utility back. He is

:06:59. > :07:04.normally a full-back but he can fill in in most places. He comes on now

:07:05. > :07:07.with 33 minutes gone and 27-0 down. Fowler tower again, the same restart

:07:08. > :07:16.and just a few first tackles being missed Italy now. -- valet out --

:07:17. > :07:19.Toby Faletau again. Rhys Webb scooping it high. Not foreign.

:07:20. > :07:32.Sergio Parisse comes forward to take it. -- far enough. Allan. Maclean.

:07:33. > :07:36.Giving it to Bernabo. Castrogiovanni. Not quite the force

:07:37. > :07:55.he was, five years ago. And Tomaso Alan. Gonzalo Garcia,

:07:56. > :08:00.now. -- Tomaso Alan. Bernabo, once more.

:08:01. > :08:03.Again, moving through the phases. But do they have the cutting

:08:04. > :08:10.Again, moving through the phases. the end, they live or short pass

:08:11. > :08:15.from Allan to Pratichetti. -- a little short pass. Francesco Minto.

:08:16. > :08:22.Italy, trying to get it back as Davies goes over. And a penalty,

:08:23. > :08:28.quickly taken by Palazzani, now with Sarto outside him and a great hit

:08:29. > :08:33.coming in as Liam Williams... And a counter ruck, he has turned it over,

:08:34. > :08:36.I think, great tackle and a counter rock. The ball is therefore Wales.

:08:37. > :08:45.-- counter ruck. WHISTLE

:08:46. > :08:50.So, it ends with a scrum for Wales, into the final five minutes in this

:08:51. > :08:56.first half. And Italy with some good fluency in attack, there but great

:08:57. > :09:01.difference from Wales in the end. Yeah, they just have to keep it...

:09:02. > :09:03.difference from Wales in the end. No mistakes. They are under pressure

:09:04. > :09:08.in every area of the game so when they have got the ball, I know it is

:09:09. > :09:15.very difficult, they have to catch and drive and catch and drive but

:09:16. > :09:21.that is where their best chance is, really, to limit the score. Another

:09:22. > :09:24.man off, Pratichetti is heading off, so it is all going horribly wrong

:09:25. > :09:30.for Italy at the moment. This is how Bellini injured himself. Turning his

:09:31. > :09:37.ankle before he took the hit from Samson Lee. I think he did that

:09:38. > :09:42.himself, didn't he? And then Andrea Pratichetti, the latest to go off,

:09:43. > :09:47.making his first start in four years. Already running out of

:09:48. > :09:52.options. Kelly Haimona will come on. He looks interested, doesn't he,

:09:53. > :09:57.coming on? Really interested, there he is, walking on to inside centre!

:09:58. > :10:05.More often he is a fly half but he will settle into the centre.

:10:06. > :10:10.They have lost a bit of pace, there, Pratichetti a bit quicker than Kelly

:10:11. > :10:23.Haimona but he is a big man. So, Wales ball, inside their own 22.

:10:24. > :10:24.The ball is just sitting there. WHISTLE

:10:25. > :10:41.Italy get the penalty. That was the decision from Sergio

:10:42. > :10:44.Parisse into touch it will go. Well done, Italy. They know they are not

:10:45. > :10:52.going to win this game by kicking penalties, so why not? So, the

:10:53. > :10:58.Italian forwards go into a huddle to discuss this, nearing the end of the

:10:59. > :11:02.first half. It has pretty much gone according to predictions. Yes, they

:11:03. > :11:05.have been patient, taken opportunities. I felt, you know,

:11:06. > :11:11.there's a few other opportunities gone missing for Wales. The Italian

:11:12. > :11:14.line-out, this time, it is the short, safe option, Zanni takes it,

:11:15. > :11:22.a little peel around of Sergio Parisse. A front peel but he is held

:11:23. > :11:29.up and he will be disappointed with that. Wales have the scrum. The

:11:30. > :11:34.thing about Italian side as well, in past seasons, when often they have

:11:35. > :11:38.lost but in those games, more often than not, they have gone at least 60

:11:39. > :11:40.minutes being in touch and being very competitive but this is quite

:11:41. > :11:46.worrying for Italy. I think there's very competitive but this is quite

:11:47. > :11:52.a lot of injuries, 1719 players, it is now. As Keith said at the

:11:53. > :11:56.a lot of injuries, 1719 players, it based the game on the forward

:11:57. > :11:57.a lot of injuries, 1719 players, it they have had to develop more of a

:11:58. > :12:02.15 man game and it has not they have had to develop more of a

:12:03. > :12:06.They don't have the quality of player at nine and ten and maybe the

:12:07. > :12:09.back three to do that. They have to try come in games like this and last

:12:10. > :12:11.week, that is all they have to do is get their basic set piece right and

:12:12. > :12:15.the tackling right to be still in get their basic set piece right and

:12:16. > :12:21.the game. Unfortunately, tired bodies, you know, they are falling

:12:22. > :12:25.Poite have to say to the captains. Something about this is getting a

:12:26. > :12:30.bit tedious, still it steady. REFEREE: We have played two scrums

:12:31. > :12:33.with ball out only, it is not enough. The players must be more

:12:34. > :12:36.disciplined than the time enough. The players must be more

:12:37. > :12:42.spent in the first half. We need to improve,

:12:43. > :12:44.spent in the first half. We need to simple, I don't know why he is

:12:45. > :12:48.talking to the captains, he just has to tell the front rows, any messing

:12:49. > :12:54.about, lads, yellow card, thank you very much, get on with it. Easy job!

:12:55. > :13:02.Let's look at some of the injuries Italy have. Ghiraldini, Edoardo

:13:03. > :13:06.Gori, Campagnaro, Josh Furno, Fuser, Biaggi, Cittadini, it goes on and

:13:07. > :13:14.on. It is a bit like Wales in the World Cup but Italy don't have the

:13:15. > :13:22.depth to cope with it. Webb feeds and a decent shot from Italy. Valet

:13:23. > :13:26.out. -- Faletau. Great play by Faletau again, the pace, to get from

:13:27. > :13:30.where the scrum was to where he ended up. It makes the kick so much

:13:31. > :13:36.easier for Dan Biggar. A good kick as well but quickly taken. Luke

:13:37. > :13:41.McLean. Garcia. Trying to edge his way past Jonathan Davies.

:13:42. > :13:50.McLean. Garcia. Trying to edge his Mak row onto Leonardo Sarto. --

:13:51. > :13:57.Allan onto Leonardo Sarto. Advantage Italy as well. Palazzani with this

:13:58. > :14:01.free attack for Italy. And Luke McLean and it is built they will

:14:02. > :14:09.come back for the penalty. They will go to the corner. It is pointless,

:14:10. > :14:21.kicking for goal, 27-0 down, go for the corner. Tommaso Allan will do

:14:22. > :14:24.just that. His uncle John, I think was a player for South Africa and

:14:25. > :14:33.Scotland in the days when you could do both. Slow down the ball. There

:14:34. > :14:35.is geared is on -- Giazzon, as the clock goes round for the final

:14:36. > :14:55.passage of play in this first half. Just a bit of a harsh around the

:14:56. > :14:58.stadium now, and that will do for the end of the first half and Wales

:14:59. > :15:01.have controlled it and they are surely heading for victory. They

:15:02. > :15:06.have built a good lead. They have been patient and scored some great

:15:07. > :15:09.tries. They've missed a couple of opportunities as well but it is a

:15:10. > :15:12.no-win situation for Wales today. I would expect them to put 50 on them

:15:13. > :15:18.so they just Avdukic the scoreboard ticking over and try to develop the

:15:19. > :15:21.attacking game. I think that is the key, developed the attacking game,

:15:22. > :15:23.looking forward to New Zealand in the summer. They lead by three tries

:15:24. > :15:36.to nil and 27-0. JASON MOHAMMAD: SENTENCE MACRO WALES

:15:37. > :15:43.HAVE WON NINE MATCHES IN A ROW AGAINST ITALY SINCE 2007. IN

:15:44. > :15:49.-- Wales have won nine matches in a roasted Italy since 2007. When you

:15:50. > :15:54.look at the stats, now, trust me, it is not going to end 27-27. Carlo, at

:15:55. > :15:57.one stage, I wondered where the want to come back and talk about this

:15:58. > :16:02.because Italy are all over the place. I know, it's not good,

:16:03. > :16:08.half-time, 27-0, I was hoping that would be the final score something

:16:09. > :16:11.but Wales are an containable. Every time there was a moment of trying to

:16:12. > :16:13.stop the Welsh momentum and regain possession, they lost the line-out

:16:14. > :16:17.and Wales counter-attacked, missed a few tackles as well and then you are

:16:18. > :16:21.back under pressure. One thing to sour which prided their commitment

:16:22. > :16:25.to the tackle and their commitment to the defence. Your pre-match

:16:26. > :16:29.prediction, Keith, of 70 point is not off the mark. Not too far off,

:16:30. > :16:33.Wales could have scored another couple of tries, to be honest. They

:16:34. > :16:37.were throwing the ball around like the Harlem globetrotter is one

:16:38. > :16:42.stage. A bit of control would not go amiss and at times, they were a bit

:16:43. > :16:46.frantic and it was far closer until 15 minutes to go and then suddenly,

:16:47. > :16:51.they just put on the afterburners and Italy could not hold them. Great

:16:52. > :16:55.to see Reece Wabara after the awful injury against Italy and a good

:16:56. > :16:58.start? Yes, we spoke about how poorly they started last week and

:16:59. > :17:00.this week, at home, you expected them to come out with a bang at home

:17:01. > :17:09.and they did. This is the tried and trusted. Jamie

:17:10. > :17:12.Roberts, scrum-half on the front foot, straightaway. It is worth

:17:13. > :17:16.pointing out, like Jonathan 's leading commentary, aged have been

:17:17. > :17:19.an Italian penalty. How do you miss that? Really poor officiating.

:17:20. > :17:24.England need all -- Italy need all the help they can get. It is sloppy

:17:25. > :17:27.and it should have been a penalty. But then Reece Webb-Foster what he

:17:28. > :17:31.does best. Italy are in a good position, here, well set up and they

:17:32. > :17:36.have the numbers but I think Webb uses the referee very cute to Lee, a

:17:37. > :17:40.slight block in front of Sarto but he should still make the tackle but

:17:41. > :17:45.Webb has a very strong upper body and is very explosive and a great

:17:46. > :17:50.try, and gets Wales after the perfect start. He gives Wales an

:17:51. > :17:55.extra edge in attack, Reece Webb-Foster he does, very sharp at

:17:56. > :17:58.the back, very powerful, actually. Talking about smarts, we were always

:17:59. > :18:04.taught to do that, the referee often gets in the wrong place so let's use

:18:05. > :18:08.it to the best advantage. Go behind his back in many respects. But it

:18:09. > :18:11.was very quick and exactly what Wales needed. They have started

:18:12. > :18:15.poorly in the last couple of games. We did not get back up to the studio

:18:16. > :18:20.in time to see the try. We did our best! They did everything they

:18:21. > :18:24.wanted to do and they put down a marker. I found it baffling this

:18:25. > :18:27.week with lots of Wales fans suggesting Rhys Priestland should

:18:28. > :18:31.start. It was not long ago that Neil Jenkins said that Dan Biggar was a

:18:32. > :18:35.world-class fly half and you are getting people saying, maybe Rhys

:18:36. > :18:38.Priestland should start? It is a fickle world, isn't it? Dan Biggar

:18:39. > :18:41.has been immense for the last 18 months and Rhys Priestland played

:18:42. > :18:44.well in the last 20 minutes last week but Dan Biggar has been key to

:18:45. > :18:48.everything that is good about this Welsh team over the last 18 months.

:18:49. > :18:52.This has become his trademark from outside-half, this is unheard of,

:18:53. > :18:57.perfectly weighted kick, very brave, and the ability to off-load as well.

:18:58. > :19:00.This is the second try. For some reason, Keith is not happy with this

:19:01. > :19:05.but the hooker should never be there, trust me, as an openside,

:19:06. > :19:09.it's difficult enough as it is. Great flat ball by Rhys Webb, Dan

:19:10. > :19:13.Biggar is on at pace and a great run by Roberts as well. It's ridiculous,

:19:14. > :19:19.people questioning whether Dan Biggar should start. You have to be

:19:20. > :19:23.very fast! He said he could have got there! I would have made that! I'm

:19:24. > :19:27.laughing but we are talking about Dan Biggar and Rhys Priestland and

:19:28. > :19:30.I'm looking at it like who would I rather play against? I would rather

:19:31. > :19:35.play Priestland. I think Dan Biggar is a class act. He's been the form

:19:36. > :19:41.fly half in the Pro12 and for a lot of the Six Nations. He's mature wood

:19:42. > :19:44.into a fine player. For me, that try is something a ten would pick on in

:19:45. > :19:48.his analysis leading up to the game, if you know they have a hooker at

:19:49. > :19:51.half-backs and that space between the end of the line-out and the

:19:52. > :19:54.first ten channel is so critical and when you have two massive wingers

:19:55. > :19:58.who can attack that space as well, someone who gets the ball quick off

:19:59. > :20:01.the top, no pressure whatsoever, inside shoulder and you are beating

:20:02. > :20:11.a forward, definitely a mismatch. You picked out a key moment in the

:20:12. > :20:14.Jonathan Davies try because the crowd loved it, it looks like

:20:15. > :20:16.exhibition rugby to them. Wales can only play what is in front of them

:20:17. > :20:19.but they spilled the ball and look at how slow the Italian kick chases.

:20:20. > :20:22.They have left Tommaso Allan 45 seconds on own. It is well finished

:20:23. > :20:25.off but a poor defence at the end of it with two men going forward. Wales

:20:26. > :20:29.get criticised for their attacking play but this was brilliant

:20:30. > :20:31.counterattacking. Look at Italy, though, poor old Sergio Parisse

:20:32. > :20:35.attracting back again, though, poor old Sergio Parisse

:20:36. > :20:40.make the tackle. You can see by his body language, everything, here he

:20:41. > :20:45.is again, it is so hapless. You might be able to expand why they are

:20:46. > :20:49.disjointed, Carlo, no chase, it seems. Great inside balls and what I

:20:50. > :20:52.like from Wales he is something they have not done, passing the full

:20:53. > :20:55.contact, so often we see the Welsh players go into contact and then try

:20:56. > :20:59.to pass but they have shown what they can do in open spaces. It was a

:21:00. > :21:04.possession stats earlier, if you have that much time in possession,

:21:05. > :21:08.the opposition is fatigue and stressed under defence. Any ball in

:21:09. > :21:12.the counterattack, any loose runners, defences are loose as well,

:21:13. > :21:16.and these are some of the world's most lethal strike runners. In that

:21:17. > :21:20.space, they will exploit it every time. We so often talk about Sergio

:21:21. > :21:25.Parisse like a statesman of Italian rugby and yet he cuts an isolated

:21:26. > :21:29.figure out there. Yes, he looks dejected. He was disconsolate last

:21:30. > :21:34.week. He was down on the ground. He was quite edgy in the post match

:21:35. > :21:39.interview. He was at the referee for the whole 80 minutes last week. He

:21:40. > :21:43.started the exact same today, having a go at Romain Poite, and the

:21:44. > :21:51.referee is just saying, "Go away, I don't need you to tell me how to

:21:52. > :21:55.referee the game". The shape of him is dejected. He looks as if, "God, I

:21:56. > :21:59.would rather be on a winning team". If ever there was a player who

:22:00. > :22:02.deserved to be on a winning team, it's him. He's great to the field

:22:03. > :22:05.for the last ten years, been magnificent but it has been

:22:06. > :22:09.heartbreaking for him for the last few weeks. We picked out Palazzani

:22:10. > :22:15.before we came on air as well and we are looking at the yellow card.

:22:16. > :22:18.Let's take a closer look. Was unlucky? That quick ball, you know

:22:19. > :22:21.that he is lethal on the quick ball. He's got to tackle him otherwise it

:22:22. > :22:24.is a short right. Leaving it to the referee to make the decision

:22:25. > :22:28.eventually, he is taking a gamble, the whole time he is looking at the

:22:29. > :22:33.ref, is he going to get called? Romain Poite had no hesitation.

:22:34. > :22:35.Probably being a bit too sympathetic, Romain Poite could have

:22:36. > :22:39.given him the benefit of the doubt but by the law, it is the yellow

:22:40. > :22:44.card. It is whether Rhys Webb was right behind the scrum when he took

:22:45. > :22:47.it. I'm not sure. But that is the pressure Wales are putting them

:22:48. > :22:50.under from the outset. It has led to that outcome. They did well when

:22:51. > :23:01.they were down to 14, held Wales up but as soon as they were back to 15,

:23:02. > :23:03.they conceded the Dan Biggar try. It is a long Segunda. It's amazing how

:23:04. > :23:06.the psychology can go, 14 people, you are in the trench together and

:23:07. > :23:09.everyone has to work but the 15 comes back on and you realise you

:23:10. > :23:10.have weathered the storm and that is when you drop your concentration and

:23:11. > :23:13.suddenly, when you drop your concentration and

:23:14. > :23:17.Warren Gatland using the bench? I think so and looking at the players

:23:18. > :23:19.they have got to bring on, Ken Owens was fantastic off the bench and

:23:20. > :23:24.Priestland as well, was fantastic off the bench and

:23:25. > :23:29.and Moriarty is already on. I think, 50, 55 minutes, used the changes.

:23:30. > :23:33.The last 20 minutes in the last few games, Wales have scored four tries.

:23:34. > :23:37.It's the acceleration at the end that puts teams away. They came back

:23:38. > :23:40.against England with it and I think Italy are in serious trouble if they

:23:41. > :23:43.don't get their hands on the ball. And when you talk about the Wales

:23:44. > :23:46.bench and then you talk about the Italy bench, a very callow faced

:23:47. > :23:51.bench with very few caps. Italy bench, a very callow faced

:23:52. > :23:54.cannot win the Six Nations championship, of course, but one

:23:55. > :24:00.thing they did win last night was the Grand Slam, yesterday, in the

:24:01. > :24:03.under 20s. Carlo was there in Colwyn Bay Lasse Vibe, Joe Thomas going

:24:04. > :24:10.over in a 35-6 win, the first time they have ever won the Grand Slam, a

:24:11. > :24:14.great win but a slow start. That pass from the Welsh full-back, he

:24:15. > :24:18.did everything textbook, running on inside shoulders, giving the past,

:24:19. > :24:20.ten metres out to his right side. The Welsh squad are humble guys and

:24:21. > :24:25.I was really addressed with the whole setup and the team. Italy did

:24:26. > :24:28.fantastic, well in the first half, they contained and manage their well

:24:29. > :24:31.but they came out, the coach had a few words with them in the changing

:24:32. > :24:35.room and they dominated the scrum upfront and then had the run of the

:24:36. > :24:40.place in the second half. This was just before the match started at the

:24:41. > :24:42.Millennium Stadium, Principality Stadium, rather, they got a

:24:43. > :24:46.fantastic welcome and grated easement. Great credit to the way

:24:47. > :24:50.they've played the game, they've used a lot of players because they

:24:51. > :24:54.have had to go back to regions all the time. The future is bright.

:24:55. > :24:57.Incredible that they were all wearing jeans and track suit tops,

:24:58. > :25:05.there. You thought they should be in suits. They have done so well. Let

:25:06. > :25:11.them celebrate. And their anthem is meal diamond's Sweet Caroline. Great

:25:12. > :25:17.performance. By Neil Diamond? The blue yes. Thank you. This evening,

:25:18. > :25:20.attention switches to the Stade de France in Paris where England and

:25:21. > :25:23.Eddie Jones have done a remarkable job, magnificent achievement in

:25:24. > :25:24.becoming the champions. Tonight, they have a chance to become Grand

:25:25. > :25:37.Slam champions. Wales are storming to the title! It

:25:38. > :25:41.is turning into a rout! Heavy defeat to Wales in 2013 when the Grand Slam

:25:42. > :25:46.was at stake is the most recent example of England falling at the

:25:47. > :25:50.final hurdle. What was the painful lesson? Generally, there was an

:25:51. > :25:55.underestimation of the task at hand. The fact you going with a chance to

:25:56. > :25:59.win a Grand Slam, you think everything is going well. But to win

:26:00. > :26:02.the last game, you have to improve again. The message has been this

:26:03. > :26:05.week, we have to keep improving because if we don't, we are going to

:26:06. > :26:11.repeat history, not create new history. You have to remember, this

:26:12. > :26:16.is a New England side now. A new way of thinking about the game. A new

:26:17. > :26:20.tactical flexibility. We are probably the fittest side since

:26:21. > :26:24.2003. What has really impressed me as the positivity of the group. You

:26:25. > :26:27.have young men who all want to get better and they are all desperate to

:26:28. > :26:33.do well for England. That is a great thing. Our opportunities are really

:26:34. > :26:36.well for the game and to make sure the first 20 minutes, we put

:26:37. > :26:43.ourselves in a winning position. If we do that, we have a great chance

:26:44. > :26:45.to win a Grand Slam. Eddie Jones described it as a magnificent

:26:46. > :26:48.achievement and let's find out what Jonathan Davies in the commentary

:26:49. > :26:52.box thinks of Eddie Jones' comments this week. Was it a magnificent

:26:53. > :26:56.achievement, Jonathan Kodjia Mark I think they are going for it. They

:26:57. > :27:01.deserve to be going to the Grand Slam. I think they have matured.

:27:02. > :27:07.They have improved from the World Cup. Defensively, they are solid. I

:27:08. > :27:15.like the way they play their attack. I think Ben Youngs was special last

:27:16. > :27:18.week. And the way they varied the slow ball, they truck it up and they

:27:19. > :27:23.try to feed quick ball in and they do create it and then George Ford

:27:24. > :27:26.steps in. They have not really shone in the previous games but last week,

:27:27. > :27:33.the first 20 minutes was impressive. It will be a shock if they lose to

:27:34. > :27:39.France tonight, I think. They are quite clearly favourites. Again,

:27:40. > :27:43.that is all we say, what France turns up and I have not seen France,

:27:44. > :27:47.if they did turn up, I don't think they are capable of beating England

:27:48. > :27:51.tonight. Absolutely, banks, Jonathan. When you look at the squad

:27:52. > :27:54.that Eddie Jones has assembled in a very short space of time from the

:27:55. > :27:58.wreckage of the Rugby World Cup, do you see it as a squad, Keith, that

:27:59. > :28:03.can dominate the Six Nations, possibly autumn internationals, the

:28:04. > :28:07.tour down under to New Zealand and South Africa? I think it's too early

:28:08. > :28:11.to save the stuff they have been very pragmatic and on the simple

:28:12. > :28:14.things very well. They have sparked and they have real gas. But they are

:28:15. > :28:18.not making the mistakes they were making last year. It is amazing, the

:28:19. > :28:26.error rate has gone down quite heavily. That is great potential. I

:28:27. > :28:29.have to qualify this next statement, coming from a bitter Welshman, not

:28:30. > :28:33.in any way, shape or form but was it a good jumping ship for England to

:28:34. > :28:36.win because Ireland have been poor, Wales have been a bit disjointed,

:28:37. > :28:40.Italy have been woeful and as Jonathan says, probably one of the

:28:41. > :28:44.worst French sides we have seen in our generation. If Wales were

:28:45. > :28:52.winning, you don't care. It's all you can do, like today, beat what is

:28:53. > :28:55.in front of you. England have been by far the best team in the

:28:56. > :28:58.tournament, no doubt about that and if they go on to win the Grand Slam,

:28:59. > :29:01.they will deserve it, no doubt about that. Absolutely right, Jonathan was

:29:02. > :29:03.trying his best to conceal his utter joy of England winning the

:29:04. > :29:06.championship and maybe a Grand Slam! England have played really well and

:29:07. > :29:10.they have done the job and done it efficiently. They have been better

:29:11. > :29:14.than everyone else. That is the point, isn't it? You have to beat

:29:15. > :29:17.what is in front of you and if you win a jab Egypt, it does not matter

:29:18. > :29:20.what the others do. And they've done it with a balanced team, gone back

:29:21. > :29:24.to what England do well. If we analyse them leading up to their

:29:25. > :29:27.matches, they have a power game and they mash you upright and then clear

:29:28. > :29:32.out the spaces out wide and they have strike runners to do that. --

:29:33. > :29:36.upfront. They did not have it last year but they are moving it back --

:29:37. > :29:41.moving back to it and it is making them dangerous. Coverage starts at

:29:42. > :29:45.seven 20p on BBC One. It will be a tough second half for Italy and they

:29:46. > :29:49.are tired. They are tired already and Wales just have to keep their

:29:50. > :29:52.concentration and skill level and intensity up and I think he's

:29:53. > :29:53.prediction won't be far off. A cricket score. Thank you for joining

:29:54. > :30:31.us. Back to the commentators. If you have confidence in your own

:30:32. > :30:45.ability, if there's a relegation game or a play-off game, you have to

:30:46. > :30:49.go with it. It's worth pointing out that in the last 15 years, Scotland,

:30:50. > :30:56.Wales, France would all have been facing a relegation match. It takes

:30:57. > :31:06.a long time to settle in. Someone told me that France took decades to

:31:07. > :31:14.come and compete in the Six Nations, the Five Nations then. It's a

:31:15. > :31:23.changing world. Carried in by Andrea Lovotti. At half-time Italy had that

:31:24. > :31:30.huge list of injuries that would cripple many sites.

:31:31. > :31:37.I understand why they kicked the ball away.

:31:38. > :31:46.Jonathan Davies up to the ten metre line. Straight into the gap goes

:31:47. > :31:57.Moriarty. That is taken down. Good covering. Still with Wales. Baldwin

:31:58. > :32:00.still going. Wales immediately on the front foot again. Deeper it goes

:32:01. > :32:15.now, to Williams. Biggar gets it to Roberts. Roberts

:32:16. > :32:23.almost away. Haimona cleaning onto it for dear life. All the Wales

:32:24. > :32:33.players making their way through one and a half tackles or so.

:32:34. > :32:42.Wales building the platform again. Eight phases and Biggar gives it up

:32:43. > :32:52.to Davies. And Biggar again and onto North. Taken down by Gonzalo Garcia.

:32:53. > :32:58.There is Rob Evans. Still with Wales and Bradley Davies.

:32:59. > :33:08.And through Dan Biggar. Just slows down again and web summons the heavy

:33:09. > :33:18.men to fly half position and it goes to Morrie Arty. And there is the

:33:19. > :33:21.crash, Thunder ball in the middle. Now wide it goes and Biggar had to

:33:22. > :33:30.be taken, taken well by Palazzani. Still Wales, 15 phases, prodding

:33:31. > :33:45.away and Still Wales, 15 phases, prodding

:33:46. > :33:52.they've got to go. Know they are outside for Wales and Biggar is

:33:53. > :34:02.there. Still Wales come, heading towards 20 phases. Web standing

:34:03. > :34:09.strong on the challenge. Incomes Biggar and back it goes for

:34:10. > :34:18.Charteris. And there is Davies again. And a rise of noise inside

:34:19. > :34:28.the stadium. Are these mounting phases to end in a try?

:34:29. > :34:34.Wide it goes now. Williams in there. And there is George North. He sets

:34:35. > :34:38.it away to Jamie Roberts and Roberts it away to Jamie Roberts and Roberts

:34:39. > :34:40.has scored in the corner. Eventually it came. Patient build-up from

:34:41. > :34:48.and Jamie Roberts scores at the start of the second half. Great

:34:49. > :34:55.patience. A lot of slow balls so they just carried

:34:56. > :35:02.patience. A lot of slow balls so up and then eventually, it's a

:35:03. > :35:04.lovely ball from George North, who releases Roberts on the outside

:35:05. > :35:10.it's an easy finish for Jamie Roberts. Width on it. Takes it on,

:35:11. > :35:13.sucks McLean in. You shouldn't have come inside there. Garcia goes in.

:35:14. > :35:21.sucks McLean in. You shouldn't have And he just told. There he is,

:35:22. > :35:27.McLean turns. You've got to have faith in your inside defender but

:35:28. > :35:32.when you're outnumbered, it's a tough, tough call as a defender.

:35:33. > :35:39.George North just got outside his defender. Distracted Luke McLean to

:35:40. > :35:42.make that hit but it's unsustainable. This amount of

:35:43. > :35:48.pressure, this amount of position, that amount of territory, it's just

:35:49. > :35:49.not sustainable. Five from 54 Dan Biggar but number six is a difficult

:35:50. > :36:04.one. So no extra two for Wales but they

:36:05. > :36:09.are beyond 30 points and a bright start of the second half for the

:36:10. > :36:13.home side. I think this lad's done exceptionally well. He's been

:36:14. > :36:17.explosive with the ball. He had great pace to it, carries well.

:36:18. > :36:23.There's the off-load. Just running on the outside of Garcia and there's

:36:24. > :36:28.the ball out the back. Italy making changes as well. Castrogiovanni is

:36:29. > :36:33.off. Might well be his last international for Italy. He is

:36:34. > :36:37.getting to that point now. Certainly you would think his last Six Nations

:36:38. > :36:41.game. A great play of Italy he's been over the years but like a few

:36:42. > :36:53.in the Italian pack, perhaps just beyond his best.

:36:54. > :37:01.Chistolini is on the front row for Italy. And Wales begin to build a

:37:02. > :37:15.game. Backwards it goes and then Tommy

:37:16. > :37:21.Allan is there. Italy now coming and Odiete now still going. Haimona and

:37:22. > :37:29.Garcia were outside but Garcia with a chance perhaps gone. Wonderful

:37:30. > :37:43.weaving run from Odiete. He is looking for Garcia now.

:37:44. > :37:52.Carried on by Jacopo Sarto, the older brother of Leonardo Sarto. A

:37:53. > :37:57.bit of a screen there. That was a clear obstruction, unfortunately.

:37:58. > :38:05.There he is. Will we see him here again, good old Castrogiovanni?

:38:06. > :38:08.Castrogiovanni has been absolutely massive for Italy. Listen to the

:38:09. > :38:13.applause is getting as the see him on the screen. But as people

:38:14. > :38:17.recognising a great rugby man. It has been a privilege to be behind

:38:18. > :38:21.him in my career. He has been one of the best in world rugby. He knows

:38:22. > :38:26.the world so well. His athleticism around the pitch when he was in

:38:27. > :38:29.fourth was something to be admired. APPLAUSE

:38:30. > :38:35.On inside the stadium for Castrogiovanni. He will appreciate

:38:36. > :38:40.the applause but he knows he's in a struggling side and that's not how

:38:41. > :38:46.he wants to see out his international career. So a change

:38:47. > :38:51.being made now for Wales. On comes Gareth Anscombe and he's coming on

:38:52. > :38:55.for Hallam Amos. Unfortunately for Hallam Amos, he hasn't had the ball

:38:56. > :39:01.that he would have liked. The ball has gone mainly to George North, so

:39:02. > :39:04.not as much impact as he would have liked to have had on the game. Yes,

:39:05. > :39:08.that will have been frustrating for him. Just the kind of game that

:39:09. > :39:19.wingers will be licking their lips at. Wales line-out. Charteris lays

:39:20. > :39:26.it back for web and Biggar. Straight through goes north. He's got

:39:27. > :39:33.volatile inside. What a try from George North! He does it again. Four

:39:34. > :39:36.games in a row in the Six Nations. Only Shane Williams has managed that

:39:37. > :39:45.for Wales and now George North has done it.

:39:46. > :39:51.It could have been any of supporting runners he had alongside him but

:39:52. > :39:55.George North all the way his own. But just watch the gap here. You

:39:56. > :40:02.could ride a bus through this. Haimona comes in on a dummy run and

:40:03. > :40:08.then bass player goes out. That's a brilliant finish. A good dummy run

:40:09. > :40:12.by Jamie Roberts. Haimona is dragged in and then it's just the finish,

:40:13. > :40:21.sublime, by this man. That's a man in form. A man in form and running

:40:22. > :40:26.with conviction. That format he's in at the moment is just completely

:40:27. > :40:32.convincing. He's got a lot to do but it comes off his left foot and then

:40:33. > :40:35.he just accelerates but the work was done by a great dummy run by Jamie

:40:36. > :40:39.Roberts. Haimona took the easy option, really. He didn't need to go

:40:40. > :40:43.in metal stop there was too many options. The inside defenders could

:40:44. > :40:48.have coped with that kind of pressure. 25 tries for George North

:40:49. > :41:11.now and this is 60th cap. But it goes from Biggar. Ken Owens

:41:12. > :41:31.is an as hooker for Wales as Garcia comes away with the ball.

:41:32. > :41:38.Carried in by Oliviero Fabiani, replacement hooker for Italy.

:41:39. > :41:43.Haimona, a nice little pass inside and a great run from Sarto and Sarto

:41:44. > :41:50.gets support from his older brother Yacob O Sarto. -- Jacopo Sarto. A

:41:51. > :41:57.great break by Italy and the Sarto brothers in tandem, carried in by

:41:58. > :42:05.Fabiani. Italy threatening, the Wales defence being tested but it

:42:06. > :42:11.hit coming in. So scrum advantage to Italy and Maclean has to skip his

:42:12. > :42:20.way around Fallon et al and Davies. --

:42:21. > :42:32.Italy are coming that with a penalty advantage. So close to a great try.

:42:33. > :42:36.I think they missed the biggest opportunity. They cut through a nice

:42:37. > :42:43.clean break, players in support. Should have finished it. In support

:42:44. > :42:49.is one of Italy's unsung heroes. He gets through a massive amount of

:42:50. > :42:55.work and having expressed all his energy in the tight phases, he's

:42:56. > :43:03.running that support. A lovely inside ball. I do like Sarto. He's a

:43:04. > :43:07.very deceptive runner but creates the opportunity, plenty of support

:43:08. > :43:13.players there. Missed opportunity. It would have been a moment for the

:43:14. > :43:14.Sarto family, Jacob O Sarto on his debut, Leonardo a fixture in the

:43:15. > :43:40.team. Parisse is there. Wales pretty

:43:41. > :43:43.steady in defence. Nudging forwards. Just creeping, the feed began to

:43:44. > :43:47.move in those multicoloured boots and Italy beginning to move towards

:43:48. > :43:53.that line. Garcia comes in as well and the try is there for Italy. And

:43:54. > :43:59.the man with his hands on the ball is Palazzani. Garcia was adding his

:44:00. > :44:04.weight. I'm not sure - did he get a touchdown? It might have been

:44:05. > :44:13.Palazzani, the scrum-half. I think it is Palazzani. He was digging for

:44:14. > :44:21.that ball. The ball was at the back of them all. I think that line

:44:22. > :44:28.coming up... I think he scored a well-deserved try. He's played

:44:29. > :44:35.really well in the last two games. Scrum-half on the back of

:44:36. > :44:39.hard-working forwards. Well, he actually scored against Wales in the

:44:40. > :44:40.World Cup warm up game, Palazzani, and this is his second try for

:44:41. > :44:47.Italy. So Kelly Haimona, to try and add the

:44:48. > :45:18.extra two points. Beautiful kick from Kelly Haimona.

:45:19. > :45:25.Seven points for Italy. Something to cling to.

:45:26. > :45:30.Kelly Haimona converted a well-deserved try from Guglielmo

:45:31. > :45:43.Palazzani. Ecstatic. He's happy. well-deserved try from Guglielmo

:45:44. > :45:49.its Haimona Fielding at the restart. And back it goes to Tommaso Allan. ,

:45:50. > :45:55.so Alan has had a really good game. He's been solid in defence. For

:45:56. > :45:59.somebody who hasn't played a test match this whole Six Nations, he's

:46:00. > :46:08.coming under pressure and I think he's dealt with it really well, this

:46:09. > :46:12.afternoon. So Ken Owens, a man under pressure. And

:46:13. > :46:19.afternoon. So Ken Owens, a man under stung by that. Ken Owens made an

:46:20. > :46:27.impact last week. I thought he carried the ball very well. A loop

:46:28. > :46:30.around by Rhys Webb and it opens things up. Davies has to get the

:46:31. > :46:46.ball away sharply with Sarto in the and Liam Williams... Still there for

:46:47. > :46:58.Carried by an with strength. inside Charteris.

:46:59. > :47:03.Carried by an with strength. play like a second 58. Well

:47:04. > :47:13.Carried by an with strength. on by Gethin Jenkins, who is on for

:47:14. > :47:15.cap number 123. Still going through goes North, look at him against

:47:16. > :47:30.Palazzani. So Wales into the 22 and Biggar...

:47:31. > :47:38.Roberts flicks it onto Liam Williams. Liam Williams with a try.

:47:39. > :47:45.Wales score again. And Liam Williams with a fine finish. And Wales move

:47:46. > :47:50.beyond 40 points. That's a lovely ball. Again, its patients, going

:47:51. > :47:53.through the phases, waiting for the opportunity, and then they've got

:47:54. > :48:01.the numbers on the left-hand side and it's a correct pass. This is the

:48:02. > :48:06.final ball, I think. Garcia has come up, Odiete has come up, but they are

:48:07. > :48:10.man short, so it's a very good finish by Williams. There is the

:48:11. > :48:15.money ball. Flicks it on. Very difficult to stop that. They were

:48:16. > :48:19.man down because Italy have an injury but still a good finisher and

:48:20. > :48:21.Liam Williams. Last scored against Italy in this fixture last year and

:48:22. > :48:42.he's done it again. That's going to be the end as we

:48:43. > :48:46.watch the conversion. Visit Francesco Minto? He is heading off

:48:47. > :48:55.Dan Biggar. He readies Francesco Minto? He is heading off

:48:56. > :49:06.the conversion. It's coming round. Oh, hello. Running into the post,

:49:07. > :49:10.always comical. I'd quite like to see a replay of that! Can we see a

:49:11. > :49:17.replay of the touch judge running into the post? Here is the off-load.

:49:18. > :49:21.Early tackle but he keeps hold of the ball. And then he just recycles

:49:22. > :49:36.and goes and there's the finish. We will spare the blushes of Marius

:49:37. > :49:42.van der Westhuizen. What a spill by George North. So the ball for Italy.

:49:43. > :50:06.There is Fabiani. Ad vantage to Italy. Maclean gives

:50:07. > :50:15.it onto Fabiani. All a bit loose but still their advantage. Ken Owens

:50:16. > :50:24.penalised. So we'll have that penalty now. They go for the touch

:50:25. > :50:27.again. They have to go to the touchline. It's that time of the

:50:28. > :50:32.game where you got to try everything. You peel off the front,

:50:33. > :50:36.peel off the back. Just something that keeps the momentum moving

:50:37. > :50:40.forward but the body language of the Italians at the moment, they are

:50:41. > :50:44.really struggling. Just the remainder of the changes you will

:50:45. > :50:49.have seen in the graphics. Jarvis is on in the front row six. Lee is off.

:50:50. > :50:56.This is how the team started, the Welsh team, and now all the

:50:57. > :51:00.changes... Rhys Priestland on at fly half and Jake Ball on in the second

:51:01. > :51:04.row. Interesting to see how Priestland and Anscombe work

:51:05. > :51:05.together. He's a different full-back. There's the Italian team

:51:06. > :51:26.with the changes. Italy looking for a second try here.

:51:27. > :51:38.Abramovich stain is also on, the South African born runner. --

:51:39. > :51:39.Abraham Steyn. Fabiani, the replacement hooker, gets his hands

:51:40. > :51:56.on it. He's looking for that energy and

:51:57. > :52:10.speed. Wales set the defence again as Parisse mulls a few things over.

:52:11. > :52:18.Abraham Steyn coming on for the injured Francesco Minto. Palazzani

:52:19. > :52:23.will now and the chance once more for Italy. Garcia for the try. A

:52:24. > :52:30.beautiful off-load in the tackle and they claim a second try. A well

:52:31. > :52:34.worked try through patient phases, maintaining positions, using your

:52:35. > :52:39.big forwards, being direct in midfield and Reece Burke about Tommy

:52:40. > :52:46.Alan and how he's played well this week. -- we spoke about Tommaso

:52:47. > :52:49.Allan. A well worked try and well-deserved. It's not something

:52:50. > :52:52.that they're lying downfall. They're looking to take this game. They are

:52:53. > :52:57.being positive with everything they're doing. It's a

:52:58. > :53:01.being positive with everything Tommaso Allan just sees a dog-leg

:53:02. > :53:05.defence, pushes through the gap and gets his arm through the tackle.

:53:06. > :53:10.That's a lovely off-load and there's good support and a good finish.

:53:11. > :53:14.Gonzalo Garcia has had a massive contribution in Italy's backline

:53:15. > :53:18.this Six Nations. He puts his body on the line and is supremely

:53:19. > :53:23.committed all the time and is one of the unsung heroes in this backline.

:53:24. > :53:27.He has just got a knee injury which is heavily strapped. He's getting a

:53:28. > :53:37.bit of treatment as Kelly Haimona lines up for the conversion attempt.

:53:38. > :53:49.Another good one from tries and 27 point tries for Italy.

:53:50. > :53:51.-- two seven point tries. Wales making a change. Gareth A Davies is

:53:52. > :54:23.coming on for Rhys Webb. Carried in by Geldenhuys. Debate it

:54:24. > :54:35.goes to to Masoe Alan -- Tommaso Allan. Not quite able to field it.

:54:36. > :54:39.Clever play from Italy, staying inside the 22, which allows them to

:54:40. > :54:48.kick directly into touch. He's cleared 45 metres with that kick.

:54:49. > :54:51.Nicely knocked back by Jake Ball. Williams chasing it down. Luke

:54:52. > :54:59.McLean should get there for Italy and he's just taken into touch by

:55:00. > :55:01.Williams. Good play again. Always the option of a left foot kicked by

:55:02. > :55:20.Jonathan Davies. Nothing really McLean could do. More

:55:21. > :55:29.changes happening. The hairy fellow coming on is Alberto Lucchese. And

:55:30. > :55:32.we remind you a game that later on, 7:20pm, BBC One, France against

:55:33. > :55:47.England, England going for the Grand Slam. Owens finds Jake Ball. And

:55:48. > :55:52.Wales begin the march. Great play and a lovely try and it comes to

:55:53. > :56:00.Mariana two. Ross Moriarty is the man who gets over for another try

:56:01. > :56:04.for Wales. They moved past 50. That's very tight defence. It was

:56:05. > :56:13.just so easy. Nobody made a tackle, they broke free. It's deflecting the

:56:14. > :56:18.pressure to the front. Luke Daisy Waugh is trying to come in and stop

:56:19. > :56:25.them. -- Lucchese was trying to come in and stop them. It's so

:56:26. > :56:28.controlled, so cohesive. You've got players in front of the ball, which

:56:29. > :56:31.is extremely difficult to stop, and the momentum just carrying all the

:56:32. > :56:36.way forward. A well-deserved try for Ross Moriarty. Propelling him

:56:37. > :56:59.towards the line. seven tries for Wales today. It is

:57:00. > :57:13.Rhys Priestland to try and add the extra two points.

:57:14. > :57:20.It's coming around well. Slightly different styles about Biggar but

:57:21. > :57:31.beautifully struck by Rhys Priestland. Still 14 minutes to go.

:57:32. > :57:37.It's a long time. They've changed the attack to the front

:57:38. > :57:40.It's a long time. They've changed line-out. It's a very tired

:57:41. > :57:45.defensive line by the Italians now. line-out. It's a very tired

:57:46. > :57:49.A chip down the middle for Parisse but Moriarty was there again.

:57:50. > :57:53.A chip down the middle for Parisse Priestland flings it out.

:57:54. > :57:57.A chip down the middle for Parisse dangerous, as Garcia was raising up

:57:58. > :57:58.there. Garcia has been very good today. He hasn't stopped working

:57:59. > :58:09.hard. He's stopped a lot of Welsh today. He hasn't stopped working

:58:10. > :58:17.right-hand side defence. Jarvis is on. Matteo Zanusso is on

:58:18. > :58:21.right-hand side defence. Jarvis is row for Italy. Jonathan Davies into

:58:22. > :58:30.Haimona. Gareth Davies, row for Italy. Jonathan Davies into

:58:31. > :58:39.Charteris. Priestland carried back into the 22. McLean watching it and

:58:40. > :58:48.takes it. Could have off-loaded to Odiete. Eventually laid-back.

:58:49. > :58:55.Alberto Lucchese, replacement scrum-half for Italy, but it will be

:58:56. > :59:06.Parisse. A rather unpleasant past to Sarto. And there is Abraham Steyn,

:59:07. > :59:15.the number 20 player. And McLean, Odiete.

:59:16. > :59:26.Carried in now by Zanusso. And onto Fabiani. Advantage to Italy.

:59:27. > :59:35.Moriarty infringing, not rolling away on the tackle. And Parisse onto

:59:36. > :59:38.Abraham Steyn and Abraham Steyn, just as he was making his way

:59:39. > :59:46.through the gap, gives it onto Geldenhuys. And Tommaso Allan,

:59:47. > :59:53.looking for the off-load to Leonardo Sarto.

:59:54. > :00:01.He'll come all the way back for the penalty. It's the best phases of

:00:02. > :00:06.attack Italy have strung together in the whole game and the bravery and

:00:07. > :00:10.the tenacity to keep the ball in hand, just the ambition to keep the

:00:11. > :00:19.ball in action, as well. It's got to be welcomed. Haimona will try and

:00:20. > :00:24.put this into the corner. I think they will be relatively happy with

:00:25. > :00:28.the performance. Twos tries scored against the Italians, Sean Edward.

:00:29. > :00:35.I'm not sure how happy they would be if you could see the third.

:00:36. > :00:41.You can see the carries on the meter is made by both sides. Wales looking

:00:42. > :00:45.to cement second place in the table which will be of little consolation.

:00:46. > :00:51.It all really hinged on the game at Twickenham last week. Fabiani,

:00:52. > :00:58.looking for Zani at the back who gets his hands on it and Parisse,

:00:59. > :01:05.now, going to Braam Steyn. Steyn Lucchese, giving it to Fabiani. Good

:01:06. > :01:09.hits on him coming from Gethin Jenkins company and Garcia now.

:01:10. > :01:15.Italy, hunting Jenkins company and Garcia now.

:01:16. > :01:20.Lucchese. Into the final ten minutes and Chistolini, a little fumble and

:01:21. > :01:30.the boys out there for Davies and onto Williams. -- ball is out there.

:01:31. > :01:35.Davies again, playing scrum-half. Gareth Anscombe and Priestland and

:01:36. > :01:40.out wide to Roberts and a chance for Wales to attack. Gareth Davies, the

:01:41. > :01:42.replacement scrum-half to George North, and Tommaso Allan watching

:01:43. > :01:50.and it calms and the interception had to be made by Parisse. -- it

:01:51. > :01:54.comes. Lucchese gives it. McLean hacks forward. Tired bodies, chasing

:01:55. > :01:59.back. Gareth Anscombe and the game is opening up. Parisse is down

:02:00. > :02:08.injured. Trying to get back into play. Jonathan Davies. On it goes.

:02:09. > :02:13.Dan Lydiate, the captain. Advantage. It is to Wales. And they have a

:02:14. > :02:16.penalty. It is all beginning to break-up now and Gareth Davies

:02:17. > :02:21.carries on and Ben Williams with a spell and a chance for Italy to

:02:22. > :02:30.counter. Geldenhuys with a rather ungainly hack forward. I think

:02:31. > :02:33.everyone is relieved the whistle has gone, a lung busting phase of play

:02:34. > :02:36.and all the Italians and some of the Welsh as well have got their hands

:02:37. > :02:44.on their heads. It has been back and forth. Bears the break, looking to

:02:45. > :02:50.give it early and he is away. Brilliant, though, inside ball,

:02:51. > :02:58.great libraries. I think he just loses his footing. I think it is

:02:59. > :03:03.editor of to say. -- a little injury. It is as the twists round.

:03:04. > :03:08.He looks as though he has twisted his ankle. I'm not sure because he's

:03:09. > :03:12.up on his feet and walking. Massive play from Sergio, his action, hand

:03:13. > :03:16.speed and controlling the ball is sublime. It was a little nudge in

:03:17. > :03:20.the back of the head from Jamie Roberts as well. That is what he

:03:21. > :03:29.might have been feeling as well. Just about ready to go again.

:03:30. > :03:39.So, a shortened line-out called by Italy and Fabiani, the Zebre hooker.

:03:40. > :03:46.Parisse, back to Lucchese. Tommaso Allan and Garcia. Jacopo Sarto. He

:03:47. > :03:52.has done well since he has come on, the elder brother. Spilled by

:03:53. > :03:57.Geldenhuys. He could not stoop down for that one. It was tired looking.

:03:58. > :04:07.Very tired looking, isn't it? He knows that. We stay disciplined and

:04:08. > :04:14.we stay good, even at the scrum. The first one in the second half. That

:04:15. > :04:18.was wary. You have do look at Jacopo Sarto on the bench and some of the

:04:19. > :04:20.players that have come on. A lot of the changes and the selections have

:04:21. > :04:24.been forced through injury but once the players that are injured

:04:25. > :04:29.comeback, it just broadens your depth and your base for the next

:04:30. > :04:31.group of selectors to select the team. Far more handling errors by

:04:32. > :04:35.group of selectors to select the Wales but they have had far more of

:04:36. > :04:42.the ball to play with. Seven and a half minutes to go. We have not had

:04:43. > :04:49.too many scrums of late, which has been... Very good! Yes. Roberts. And

:04:50. > :04:53.then Jonathan Davies. Lucchese preventing the off-load from the

:04:54. > :04:59.ground. Davies gives it onto Moriarty. He's done well to stay in

:05:00. > :05:08.there, Moriarty. Jake Ball to Ken Owens. And Davies again. So many

:05:09. > :05:13.times, Davies has had to really very quickly give the ball away. Braam

:05:14. > :05:21.Steyn up on him this time. They still have not worked out the blitz

:05:22. > :05:24.defence yet, Wales, of Italy. Still Wales but deep inside their own half

:05:25. > :05:29.and there's a little chip over the top from Priestland and how does it

:05:30. > :05:36.bounce? Odiete claims it. George North emerges with it, though, and

:05:37. > :05:40.feeds Roberts. Complaint from Roberts and Wales have the

:05:41. > :05:50.advantage, quickly taken by Davies. But the referee says no. The same.

:05:51. > :05:57.If you are not, you wait for the mark. He has got his hand on the

:05:58. > :06:06.ball. He ripped it out. It has been poked into the corner for Wales to

:06:07. > :06:07.launch another attack. Let's have a look at George North, ten carries,

:06:08. > :06:19.Wales, successfully working the 116 metres. That is fairly decent.

:06:20. > :06:24.Wales, successfully working the line-out and Roberts, and Wales

:06:25. > :06:27.still full of running and muscle. The Italian defence looking more

:06:28. > :06:51.tired. Back it goes to Jake Ball. Wales again, trying to attack with

:06:52. > :06:56.some patience. Lydiard. Getting closer and closer and

:06:57. > :06:56.some patience. Lydiard. Getting there. -- Liddy

:06:57. > :07:09.Jonathan Davies. Drawing in the defence. Why it goes, through

:07:10. > :07:12.Priestland and Gareth Anscombe. -- wide it goes. Davies slips it away

:07:13. > :07:28.and Moriarty carries. Priestland. Gareth Anscombe.

:07:29. > :07:33.Floating it over the top and so nearly intercepted by Garcia, en

:07:34. > :07:38.route to George North. Garcia is struggling. Really struggling, he

:07:39. > :07:41.had cramp through the last phase, he's given everything, I don't think

:07:42. > :07:46.there's anything left in the tank. This is a good decision, you, a lot

:07:47. > :07:51.of referees would have said, yellow card and get off but he said, he

:07:52. > :07:53.went for the ball, he was not deliberate, he went for the

:07:54. > :07:58.interception so it's a good decision. He's an absolute warhorse

:07:59. > :08:04.and he needs to hang on for another five and a half minutes. There are

:08:05. > :08:10.no more backs for Italy to use so he just has to hang on. There was a 41

:08:11. > :08:15.point victory in Rome last year and it is 31 at the moment -- 39 at the

:08:16. > :08:21.moment. Wales with a chance to extend that lead, here. Another

:08:22. > :08:31.advantage to Wales, side entry by Italy. Ken Owens. A very lively

:08:32. > :08:32.hooker. Priestland, a little pop over the

:08:33. > :08:38.hooker. Priestland, a little pop claims it but they will be back for

:08:39. > :08:44.the penalty. Doing very well, Odiete. Man of the match, quickly? I

:08:45. > :08:47.think Rhys Webb made exceptionally well and so did Jamie Roberts but

:08:48. > :08:51.Faletau, as ever, just does everything. For me, I think the

:08:52. > :08:57.standout player for Wales has debate, there he is, my Six Nations,

:08:58. > :09:04.RBS Six Nations man debate, there he is, my Six Nations,

:09:05. > :09:07.George North. What do the crowd think of that? CHEERING

:09:08. > :09:12.Strangely enough, they like it! think of that? CHEERING

:09:13. > :09:21.Welsh line-out, looking for another try. The final three minutes of the

:09:22. > :09:22.game, advantage to Wales. Another try surely has to come, Gareth

:09:23. > :09:32.Davies! try surely has to come, Gareth

:09:33. > :09:35.another try. Faletau in there, Faletau goes himself but Zanni and

:09:36. > :09:46.Zanusso have him. Gethin Jenkins. Faletau goes himself but Zanni and

:09:47. > :09:59.And the crowd would dearly love another. Fed on to Jake Ball. Well

:10:00. > :10:04.knocked back in the challenge. Wide they go and Jamie Roberts floated

:10:05. > :10:08.over Odiete again and will they go the length of the field? No, back

:10:09. > :10:15.they come and Odiete does not know. Look at him go. He does not know.

:10:16. > :10:25.Poor fellow! Back you come! He is delighted and then he put his head

:10:26. > :10:30.up. Romain Poite pulled them back, actually, for the infringement on

:10:31. > :10:34.the maul. He deemed it to be a maul because Sergio was still in contact

:10:35. > :10:42.with the Welsh pack as they were advancing. Odiete has come around

:10:43. > :10:45.and stopped the maul and so the sidelines were in place. It was

:10:46. > :10:49.bitterly new was offside so advantage being played but good

:10:50. > :10:52.running, young fellow. A slap on the back from George North! And away

:10:53. > :10:59.they go and it will be a back from George North! And away

:11:00. > :11:02.has to be, Moriarty with a second! And for Wales, it is number eight

:11:03. > :11:08.and they are moving up towards 60 points now with a minute to go. Half

:11:09. > :11:10.the Italians were not back in position and that is what they guard

:11:11. > :11:16.complaining about. They were still walking back from the Odiete

:11:17. > :11:20.intercept. -- they are complaining. I tell you what, though, this guy

:11:21. > :11:25.has played exceptionally well since coming on as well. Look at all the

:11:26. > :11:29.Italians, they are just waiting and it's a quick tap and he scores a

:11:30. > :11:33.try, great angle but a few of the Italian boys are still walking back.

:11:34. > :11:36.-- great angle. I think Ross Moriarty has played exceptionally

:11:37. > :11:42.well since coming on. He has really made a mark in this game. I think he

:11:43. > :11:49.has carried the ball so well. He has really enjoyed it. I know his mum

:11:50. > :11:53.and dad will be very proud of him. This might well be the final kick of

:11:54. > :11:58.the game and it is fitting that the strains Bread Of Heaven are ringing

:11:59. > :12:02.around the stadium. They have been fed until they wanted no more. Eight

:12:03. > :12:09.tries and this is for the conversion. Through it goes and

:12:10. > :12:14.Wales, as the clock goes red, move to 60 points. And the referee is

:12:15. > :12:19.having a look at the clock and I wonder if he will just say enough is

:12:20. > :12:23.enough? He should. Put Italy out of their misery. But no, it is an

:12:24. > :12:28.opportunity for Wales to score again. Will they go for another one?

:12:29. > :12:38.Will they just kicked the ball into touch? The kick is before 80 or

:12:39. > :12:44.after? Not quite, the club was before 80. It's too late now. They

:12:45. > :12:49.are plain on, not quite Wales' biggest win in the Six Nations, that

:12:50. > :12:53.was against Scotland couple of years ago, 51-3 after Stuart Hogg got a

:12:54. > :12:58.red card. They are looking for more, Wales, and they might well get it.

:12:59. > :13:06.The Liam Williams. Just fending off the attention of Leonardo Sarto.

:13:07. > :13:13.Ball gets it away nicely and a real opportunity, here. Just a check by

:13:14. > :13:15.Jenkins to take the ball behind him. A lovely little step and away goes

:13:16. > :13:29.George North, still going, Luke In through Cain Sergio Parisse save

:13:30. > :13:31.his side as Wales were threatening again. And Italy will have a final

:13:32. > :13:41.fling. Fabiani. They don't want to just boot the

:13:42. > :13:46.ball out as Braam Steyn carries. Let's see if they can find

:13:47. > :13:52.something. Haimona with a little chip, into space. He's never going

:13:53. > :13:55.to get there, is he? Now an opportunity, Gareth Anscombe who has

:13:56. > :13:57.bought and it might be another try as Brisbane takes it, carried on by

:13:58. > :14:04.Dan Lydiate and it will be, surely? as Brisbane takes it, carried on by

:14:05. > :14:09.Davies for the dry and what they try to finish with. -- further try. Two

:14:10. > :14:12.minutes into dead time and Wales go up to 65 points. Cruel on Italy but

:14:13. > :14:18.are bidding finish to this game for Wales. They got up with intent. They

:14:19. > :14:23.have scored some lovely, lovely tries today, looked dangerous in

:14:24. > :14:27.broken field. Gareth Anscombe with the off-load, Dan Lydiate,

:14:28. > :14:32.Priestland, Dan Lydiate and Ben Garratt Davis, finishing off. He is

:14:33. > :14:35.such a try scorer, this kid. -- and then Gareth Davies. They have

:14:36. > :14:42.redeemed themselves from last week's defeat. They have gone out and

:14:43. > :14:46.played an open, attacking game and the Italians look shot. It is over

:14:47. > :14:52.from the boot of Rhys Priestland and Wales move to 67 points. It is a

:14:53. > :14:56.record win for them now in the Six Nations. It is a humbling defeat for

:14:57. > :15:01.Italy and Sergio Parisse is seen far too many of those, and the likes of

:15:02. > :15:06.Lee and Castrogiovanni deserve rather better than this. But Italy,

:15:07. > :15:11.well, they will improve in the future, we hope, they must do.

:15:12. > :15:17.Today, this is a sideshow. The big game is in Paris. But you know,

:15:18. > :15:21.Wales wanted to go out on a high. They have a tough tour to New

:15:22. > :15:25.Zealand in the summer so they wanted to give something back to the fans.

:15:26. > :15:28.The Italians started well in Paris. They have

:15:29. > :15:33.The Italians started well in Paris. injuries. They have looked very,

:15:34. > :15:38.very tired in the last two games. No strength in depth. A good way for

:15:39. > :15:43.Wales to go out. Italy, you know, they have to go back to the drawing

:15:44. > :15:45.board. Interesting for Wales now, they have an oddly scheduled match

:15:46. > :15:52.against England at the end of May and then the three tests against New

:15:53. > :15:58.Zealand. But a great way to finish. Well, if they can just go to New

:15:59. > :16:02.Zealand, New Zealand rebuilding without Dan Carter, Richie McCaw,

:16:03. > :16:05.Ma'a Nonu, so a lot of people think they have a great chance of going

:16:06. > :16:09.down there. If they get the set piece and the basics right, but they

:16:10. > :16:14.will have to be far more clinical in their execution against New Zealand.

:16:15. > :16:17.But they go on the back of a good result. Ireland scored nine tries in

:16:18. > :16:22.victory over Italy last week and Wales have done the same, 67-14,

:16:23. > :16:30.their victory, to round off the Six Nations campaign.

:16:31. > :16:33.Wales have won six matches at the Principality Stadium for the first

:16:34. > :16:39.time. They won their opening five Test matches, part of a nine match

:16:40. > :16:44.winning streak at all them venues. A record breaking in and in fairness,

:16:45. > :16:52.Keith, did you say 65 or 67? Not bad. I rarely get it

:16:53. > :16:59.George North, man of the match, four tries in four games, equalling Shane

:17:00. > :17:03.Williams' record and an emphatic victory at home, how does it feel?

:17:04. > :17:07.It feels great. We knew we had to come out and perform today and we

:17:08. > :17:12.showed our intent and desire to win and win well. I think the scoreline

:17:13. > :17:17.says it all. It is a record victory. Is this redemption for what happened

:17:18. > :17:20.last week at a again? We know what happened last week. We needed to

:17:21. > :17:24.work hard and get it right and this week was a new week. We had to focus

:17:25. > :17:28.on performing well and doing things right, we knew what we had to work

:17:29. > :17:34.on and get the result we deserved. New Zealand's next in the summer.

:17:35. > :17:38.Looking forward to it? I will relax for now and worry about that when we

:17:39. > :17:46.get there! Congratulations, well done. I bet he can't wait to go to

:17:47. > :17:50.New Zealand! Played well today and all tournament, George North. He's

:17:51. > :17:54.back to his best, had a difficult season last season with a concussion

:17:55. > :17:57.and so forth and we spoke about it before in the show, she's only 23 in

:17:58. > :18:01.learning his game but he showed how athletic and dangerously was today,

:18:02. > :18:05.along with that man, Moriarty, who made a huge impact off the bench. I

:18:06. > :18:08.think he is someone who people were bigging up before the World Cup last

:18:09. > :18:12.year and he is something different to what we have got in the back row,

:18:13. > :18:16.can expose defences and carries really well, so good impact off the

:18:17. > :18:20.bench from them. Let's go back down to pitch side and he is with --

:18:21. > :18:25.losses with Dan Lydiate. The winning captain, your first Test match in

:18:26. > :18:28.charge of Wales and it is a record victory. You, obviously, we were

:18:29. > :18:33.disappointed with last week. We owed it to the fans this week. -- yes,

:18:34. > :18:37.obviously. Gave away a couple of soft tries but the boys went out

:18:38. > :18:40.there and play their hearts out so I could not ask for more. Your back

:18:41. > :18:45.row colleague, Ross Moriarty with two drives, helped by you,

:18:46. > :18:49.particularly the first one. It would have been nice to score myself, to

:18:50. > :18:56.be honest! Getting over the whitewash is all that matters.

:18:57. > :18:59.Gutted for who went off but Ross had a great impact. Is it a question of

:19:00. > :19:02.what might have been in this tournament, stronger stance against

:19:03. > :19:07.Ireland and England and perhaps you would have been playing for the

:19:08. > :19:11.championship today? Yes, two bad parts of Rugby L down in this

:19:12. > :19:16.championship. Let's hope we learn from this, especially last week.

:19:17. > :19:21.Make sure we don't turn up and start games like we have done in the first

:19:22. > :19:29.game and the last game. Cracking performance today, though,

:19:30. > :19:33.congratulations. Sergio Parisse mon the losing side, commiserations.

:19:34. > :19:36.What was the difference between the sides today? Well, I think Wales

:19:37. > :19:40.played with lots of speed, especially from the beginning. They

:19:41. > :19:45.scored tries in the first phase sometimes. A big mistake on our

:19:46. > :19:51.part. It was difficult. After that, in the second half, again, a lot of

:19:52. > :19:58.things, a lot of guys with problems. But you know, Wales are a great

:19:59. > :20:02.team. Especially for the young guys, there is much to keep working and

:20:03. > :20:06.learn from this defeat and build something for the future. A tough

:20:07. > :20:08.campaign for Italy overall, so many injuries. Did those derail your Six

:20:09. > :20:19.Nations this year? The injuries. Did those derail your Six

:20:20. > :20:22.single nation sometimes has a lot of injuries. Maybe for us, it is more

:20:23. > :20:31.difficult because we don't have the depth in our group. But no

:20:32. > :20:33.difficult because we don't have the and from June, we will have another

:20:34. > :20:38.staff and maybe things will change. Despite seeming overwhelmed at times

:20:39. > :20:43.today, plenty of spirit shown by the Azzurri, two drives of your own.

:20:44. > :20:47.Yes, -- two Azzurri, two drives of your own.

:20:48. > :20:51.to play matches when you are losing by 50 or 60 points

:20:52. > :20:53.try to do good things, scored two tries too many mistakes

:20:54. > :20:59.try to do good things, scored two Wales play with a lot of speed and

:21:00. > :21:03.they have great backs and they put us under pressure today.

:21:04. > :21:07.Commiserations. He is a wonderful player and when you look at their

:21:08. > :21:11.miserable away record, they have now won two of their 40 36 Nations away

:21:12. > :21:14.fixtures, both in Edinburgh. One wonders how he must feel. A

:21:15. > :21:18.top-class rugby international, always on the losing side. So Wales

:21:19. > :21:24.and their Six Nations campaign in second but it is very much all about

:21:25. > :21:25.England and they take on France at the Stade de France for the Grand

:21:26. > :21:33.Slam this evening. You have to have sympathy to Sergio

:21:34. > :21:36.Parisse god they were not at the races today. Absolutely and in the

:21:37. > :21:40.first they did not play particularly well and gave up the ghost with ten

:21:41. > :21:46.or 15 minutes to go in the first. In the second half, they played better,

:21:47. > :21:50.their line they did a lot. But one mistake followed by another -- their

:21:51. > :21:54.line speed, they did a lot. But one mistake followed another followed by

:21:55. > :21:58.dropping ahead for the last nine or ten minutes and then they got hot

:21:59. > :22:04.lead. It is tough. He is Klaasen has been for so long. He has had to

:22:05. > :22:08.stand up as captain and talk to us, to the media. -- he is class and has

:22:09. > :22:13.been. After every defeat, he has spoken to us with grace over that

:22:14. > :22:17.period of time but your heart bleeds for him. Fair play to him but

:22:18. > :22:20.unfortunately for Italy and a lot of the Six Nations teams, they've come

:22:21. > :22:24.up against a vast improve George North. Yes, for Wales, they are

:22:25. > :22:28.under run massive amount of pressure, I think the media puts

:22:29. > :22:31.them under more pressure than most. It is the work, Kelly Haimona, on

:22:32. > :22:36.the inside, he does not need to be there, giving any attention, to mass

:22:37. > :22:39.are Alan has it covered. He needs to stay out by George North is coming

:22:40. > :22:44.on the outside, the acceleration and the power and the speed and the

:22:45. > :22:47.balance, his conviction that he's going to score the try makes the

:22:48. > :22:52.difference between a player in form and someone who is really struggling

:22:53. > :22:55.and hunting for tries. And a record-breaking afternoon because he

:22:56. > :23:01.has scored in four successive Six Nations matches, equalling Shane

:23:02. > :23:05.Williams in 2008. They used to well off the wing, he looked for work and

:23:06. > :23:08.looked energetic. We said before the show, when Wales are on the front

:23:09. > :23:12.foot, the game opens up which is perfect for him. It is great to have

:23:13. > :23:15.him back to his best. You mentioned going down to New Zealand in the

:23:16. > :23:19.summer and George North needs to be at his very best if Wales are going

:23:20. > :23:22.to do anything down there because it will be a very tough three games. A

:23:23. > :23:26.great way to finish and it gives them a lot of confidence going down

:23:27. > :23:31.there. It is and he played very well. He's one of those world-class

:23:32. > :23:36.players. I just think the summer tour is too much for most of these

:23:37. > :23:39.teams. A big play up for the World Cup which takes a huge amount of

:23:40. > :23:42.effort, followed immediately afterwards by the Six Nations and

:23:43. > :23:45.then three Test matches in New Zealand. You will relish it but at

:23:46. > :23:48.some stage, you have to give them a break which is why when you see

:23:49. > :23:55.somebody like Ross Moriarty coming into it, because he is young and

:23:56. > :23:59.fresh and the energy of there. But for the most part, we

:24:00. > :24:01.fresh and the energy of there. But protect these players a little bit

:24:02. > :24:07.because we have got far too many injuries. Viewers watching today

:24:08. > :24:13.will recognise that, Moriarty and Wales have an after bit of a gem. I

:24:14. > :24:17.played against his father. Are you that old? I think he was a view is

:24:18. > :24:21.older than me, coming to the end of his career but I mentioned earlier,

:24:22. > :24:24.new so dynamic and powerful. He is really aggressive. He treads a fine

:24:25. > :24:30.line sometimes, gives penalties away but I think he is there, pushing Dan

:24:31. > :24:33.Lydiate very close that the number six jersey. He playing at Gloucester

:24:34. > :24:38.which is not helping his cause when it comes to Welsh selection. Also

:24:39. > :24:41.Sam Warburton, we have not mentioned him, he was not involved today but

:24:42. > :24:46.it shows the strength in the back row. That is what it means to score

:24:47. > :24:49.an international test drive. Two in one game as well, you will be

:24:50. > :24:56.streaming proud. He mentioned before he came onto the pitch, what an

:24:57. > :24:59.impact. He knew what he had to do, get your hands on the ball, cause

:25:00. > :25:02.carnage and the result is some thing you can be proud of. Today in many

:25:03. > :25:04.ways makes it more frustrating for the Welsh bands, had it gone to plan

:25:05. > :25:07.last week, had they had started so slowly at Twickenham, they would

:25:08. > :25:11.have been in a perfect position to win the title. Yes, they have

:25:12. > :25:14.struggled starting matches, look at how they started against Ireland in

:25:15. > :25:17.the first game and ended up with the draw and how they started against

:25:18. > :25:20.England, but these are the big matches they had to bow forming and

:25:21. > :25:25.they did not for whatever reason. There will be a bit of

:25:26. > :25:27.soul-searching because Wales have traditionally won the championship

:25:28. > :25:32.Laura Brown slam immediately after the World Cup and they did not get

:25:33. > :25:36.close this year. -- championship or a Grand Slam. What is great about

:25:37. > :25:40.Warren Gatland's squad today, Rhys Webb came back and played well but

:25:41. > :25:43.Gareth Davies was magnificent in the World Cup and comes on the day and

:25:44. > :25:47.is itching to prove to the coaching staff that he wants the place back.

:25:48. > :25:50.That is what you want, competition for places, Wales have not had that

:25:51. > :25:55.traditionally, you more or less know the starting 15 but today with 20 or

:25:56. > :25:58.25 off-load they have managed, not the greatest Italy team but they

:25:59. > :26:03.have shown what they can do, how they can play in the last 15 minutes

:26:04. > :26:05.at Twickenham -- 15 minutes at Twickenham and that is when the

:26:06. > :26:09.Welsh public gets frustrated sometimes. We know it is within

:26:10. > :26:12.them, how good and skilful way but it seems to be safety first

:26:13. > :26:16.sometimes. Hopefully the last ten minutes of last week and this game

:26:17. > :26:20.shows that we need to evolve and if we are going to beat the top teams

:26:21. > :26:23.because the next six games for Wales I huge, England away, three against

:26:24. > :26:27.New Zealand and then Australia and South Africa so we will find out

:26:28. > :26:31.exactly where they are after those games. At some stage under Warren

:26:32. > :26:34.Gatland, they need to register big wins against the big southern

:26:35. > :26:39.hemisphere opponents. Yes, they have not done it and they need to do it

:26:40. > :26:42.and consistently. The power game the normally played, I don't think it

:26:43. > :26:47.suits the southern hemisphere, playing against them, but that is

:26:48. > :26:51.all you can have in your locker. As you said, in the last two weeks, we

:26:52. > :26:54.have seen an ability to go and score a try and maybe it is having the

:26:55. > :26:58.freedom to have a cut from earlier in the game. It's a huge job, if it

:26:59. > :27:03.is going to be con crochet for Italy, a massive job. It's a massive

:27:04. > :27:08.job, he's coming into a team that has taken huge hits over the Six

:27:09. > :27:11.Nations. It is a team that needs rebuilding, and needs to be a bit

:27:12. > :27:16.more belief and confidence instilled in them. But you have seen what a

:27:17. > :27:19.new coach does, a breath of fresh air, different players aspire to

:27:20. > :27:23.that, you have to impress the new coach and there are new players,

:27:24. > :27:26.like Jacopo Sarto, not even in the reckoning before, get his chance

:27:27. > :27:30.tonight and comes in and has an opportunity to keep the journey.

:27:31. > :27:33.Lots of players with lots to play for, new motivation with the new

:27:34. > :27:41.coach and it is only positive. One moment that the band 's the touch

:27:42. > :27:46.judge, when Dan Biggar... He kicked and there you go, that will be on

:27:47. > :27:49.the question of sport very soon, you can guarantee it. Let's bring you

:27:50. > :28:01.up-to-date with what is coming up on the BBC. A massive day of sport.

:28:02. > :28:08.Leicester City in action today, the Premier League leaders.

:28:09. > :28:17.Thank you to Martyn Williams, Carlo Del Fava and Keith Wood, and next up

:28:18. > :28:19.on BBC One, it is Final Score. Tonight, it is all about the Stade

:28:20. > :28:21.de France and France against England. Good luck to Eddie Jones'

:28:22. > :28:35.men. Goodbye for now. # The calm before the storm

:28:36. > :28:42.# You could hear the drop of opinion # Never been claustrophobic

:28:43. > :28:48.# But now the walls are closing in # So strike me down

:28:49. > :28:55.# Take me away # Takes to do

:28:56. > :28:57.# A price to pay # Face what I deserve

:28:58. > :29:03.# Here comes Judgment Day. #
